I made this thing and I don't know what it's called but I saw it on YouTube Shorts and I wanted to give it a try!

The plastic sheets from several tea bottles that I used the money my grandma gave me for Chinese New Year, the tape that reflected rainbow colors when lit by lights that I bought in high school because I mistook it for ribbon, the drawing book that I bought it because it didn't have a checkered pattern, decorated it a bit with cheap markers I got from my aunt because I didn't have enough characters to collect and was running out of money.

I’m gonna list mainly Chinese media in this list, though, because that’s what I consume more. And ha! How brave, asking an ND person like me for recs. Prepare to be bombarded by my rambling!

Starting off with the media currently featured in my header (excluding Blue Lock coz most of my mutuals already know that)...

1. The Earth is Online (danmei* novel)

* Danmei - Chinese boys love stories

The plot basically: Everyone on Earth is pulled into a death game.

A good intro to the unlimited flow* genre. Each instance is thrilling and complex. The boys love aspect is not much, as it focuses on plot, but it’s definitely not subtle. The characters are also quite diverse. Most UF novels just focus on the Chinese characters and revolve around what happens in China, but this one actually features those from other countries. I also like how the protagonist isn’t treated as the entire world’s savior. Other people around the world are also doing their part.

Where to read: An official English release is coming out in 2024. Translations will be done by luckkoi, the fan translator. As such, they've taken down their translations online. There's an alternate translation by @leonsrightlations , but only a few chapters are out right now. There are several completed translations online, but they're all edited mtl (machine translation). If you don't mind that, you can go google it. I recommend the one by Rainbow Mushroom. Their translations require a password, though, and you can find that on their Discord server.

* unlimited flow - Chinese genre of web novels where the protagonist is pulled into different instances to complete challenges which, if failed, would result in punishment or even death. It’s basically the death game genre, but instead of just one game, there are multiple.

2. Legend of Hei movie + Legend of Luo Xiaohei series sequel (donghua*)

(I downloaded this video from YouTube years ago. I can no longer find it there, so I’m reuploading it here…)

* Donghua – Chinese anime

A story about the young cat demon Xiao Hei and his quest to find a new home after humans destroyed his old one. Cute cat + cool powers + awesome fighting scenes + clean and crisp animation.

You can watch this on Netflix, but it’s not available in all countries. There’s an English and Japanese dub available, but I strongly recommend watching it in the original Chinese. (I can send you the full movie with English subtitles if you want). The series, which takes place after the movie, can be watched on YouTube. S1 of the series is more slice of life, but s2 is action-packed.

3. Low Tide in Twilight (BL manhwa)

That BL trope where the bottom has a mountainload of debt, while the top gives him a way out… except, not really, coz the male lead Taeju is partly the creditor, and he’s forcing Euihyun into a relationship with him in exchange for money.

Typical BL story with an initially toxic couple, but better. Complex characters, and a manhwa that relies more on the art to tell the story instead of the words. Also, Taeju gives off that same annoying but hot vibe as Kaiser. What more do you want?

4. Link Click (donghua)

The title (时光代理人) would be literally translated as “Time Agents.” I have no idea why the official English title is Link Click.

The plot basically: Two guys with time-related powers run a photography shop, where they accept orders from clients to dive back in time through a photo.

Funimation did this donghua so dirty by not promoting it more back when it aired in 2021. The English subs were also terrible.

Did you know that it used to rank #20 in MAL, surpassing MP 100 S2, Jujutsu Kaisen, and many other mainstream anime? Now, it’s ranked #41 on MAL, lower than before, but still pretty high for a donghua on MAL. That’s just how good it is.

Here’s a link to the blu-ray version with fansubs. Just pick the normal English track option and not English (CR).

Edit: OKAAAY, it turns out that link has the episode order all mesed up. Just ask me if you need an HD copy with good fansubs.

5. White Cat Legend 2020 (donghua)

Title (大理寺日志) would be literally translated as The Journal of Dali Court.

Another cat boy donghua! Can you tell I just love cats?

The plot: Chen Shi travels from the countryside to the big city to search for his missing brother and inadvertently ends up working at Dali court under the cat guy Li Bing.

Slice of Life + Comedy + Drama + Supernatural + Mystery + Action

Baiting you with a hot guy gif~

It's a historical show btw, so expect some references to real-life events.

The animation is also really smooth in this one! You can watch it on YouTube. Here's a link to episode 1.

Season 2 is also out! I'm yet to watch it, though. I should really do some time...

Summary:

Gabi Moreno is miserably stuck in the closet. Forced to play soccer to hide his love for dance and iced out by Theo, the only openly gay guy at school, Gabi’s only reprieve is his parents’ Puerto Rican bakery and his plans to take over after graduation.

But the town’s new fusion café changes everything. Between the Mori’s struggling shop and the Moreno’s plan to sell their bakery in the face of the competition, both boys find their dreams in jeopardy. Then Theo has an idea—sell photo-worthy food covertly at school to offset their losses. When he sprains his wrist and Gabi gets roped in to help, they realize they need to work together to save their parents’ shops but will the new feelings rising between them be enough to send their future plans up in smoke?”

Representation:

This will be an own voices review since I’m coming from an Asian American & queer perspective, but we are not a monolith and not everyone will agree with my interpretation.

To be honest, I had really high expectations for this book. It had been in my TBR ever since I heard it was coming out, and I was super excited to read about two queer PoC falling in love (not to mention the enemies to lovers and food!!) but it ended up falling short in a lot of ways.

For representation, Theo Mori is Japanese and Chinese (if I remember correctly) and Gabi Moreno is Puerto Rican. While Theo is gay and out, Gabi is very much in the closet and struggles with his father’s machismo expectations.

I will say that while this is the author’s own experience growing up in these cultures, the book’s impact depended on the readers. For white readers, the book would appear to reinforce negative stereotypes like Asian parents pushing for perfect grades, and Latinx parents being machismo and sexist.

It’s one of those things that for Asian kids, we know that sometimes our parents can be strict, but it’s not something that applies to all Asian parents. I would have liked to see some of those stereotypes challenged in this book instead of reinforced.

That being said, the book did a really good job of showing the struggles of being in the closet, especially with a homophobic family.

What I Liked:

I liked the plot and how it flowed - nothing seemed choppy or didn’t make sense. There was always a reason the characters were doing what they did, and even if you didn’t agree with it you understood their motivations.

I needed a good beach read when I picked this up, and it did not disappoint. I also love love love when romance books have switching perspectives - it adds a lot of dimension to the characters.

Why I couldn’t give it a 10:

Sadly, this book ended up falling into a lot of unfortunate stereotypes that I felt readers from other backgrounds wouldn’t recognize as such. I discussed this a bit already, but it was to the extent that I had to put the book down at times. I also didn’t really like how the “enemies to lovers” aspect was basic - they genuinely had little reason to hate each other and it was mostly one sided. This is later acknowledged so that they can have a romance, but it fell flat for me. I prefer when characters have complex motivations, especially for a plot line that propels so much of the book.

Ultimately, I’m grateful for the representation this book brings to the table and I hope it can make people feel seen, I just didn’t enjoy the writing as much as I wanted to. For a debut novel, it’s not bad!

I can’t think of any recommendations like this book at the moment (because this is a months-old draft) but I’ll keep an eye out!

Nova's relationships to Greer seems to exist more on a hypothetical than any reality. Their arrival was meant to be a new and exciting change, a return to the life they were meant to have, one that ended up all but cloaked by the darkness of Greer's missing status. It seemed to be everyone's focus and to some degree, Nova was thankful for it, his arrival able to slip mostly under the radar. After all, who held interest in your story when the school's golden girl had up and vanished?

知足常乐

"One who knows how to be content with what they have is always happy."

This Chinese proverb stuck with me more than the others during my high school Chinese Language class. There was even an essay i wrote on this proverb, which had gotten me to the top class.

When I was assigned an essay on this proverb, there were these nagging questions in my mind. Should I just be happy with what I have? If I do so, would it stop me from achieving more? Do I go for more or be content? At 14, I was torn.

It's been over a decade and here's my answer for that 14 year old girl.

Be content with what you have, but it doesn't mean that blessing won't come your way. It's about the attitude or keeping the good light inside you alive. Gratitude is about seeing with your heart and appreciating the things that are really important. Wanting is simply a well of insecurity that desires but is never satisfy. To conquer the feelings of desire, remember to simply be grateful and have hope about where Life leads.

Contentment doesn't mean be idle. It can also mean being happy doing what you are doing, don't do things with resentment. Often I would do my chores self-righteously alongside a tinge of hatred as well.

Be active while content, even in the face of things that scare you, especially while facing it. Always do what you feel is morally right. You can still be content but also show up for your responsibility in human improvement.

It's also more than a wishy washy fairytale rainbow positivity picture. Life is short. We're mortal beings briefly alive on this earth. The world is full of tragedies but it is also full of small beautiful opportunities of happiness --- and love, especially love. Those little things are worth being alive for.

A lot can happen unexpectedly. Life is full of surprises --- good and bad. You can lose things or people in a snap. What matters is how much you love them at that moment. Don't strangle them, but remember where love is.

Nothing is perfect. You don't look like a model. You don't have a perfect body. Who cares? You have the capacity to love. I'm not talking in a Sunday-school kid all shiny and positive and perfect. I'm talking about a true act of kindness, like ex-addicts turning over a new leaf helping the neighbourhood kid, not the kid who acts all kind because it was a popular thing to do or the politican who is nice to simply gain votes. Whatever it is, I promise in all that is what matters. Those are the things we need to open our eyes and heart to.

And remember, in Nicholas Sparks' A Walk To Remember, Landon told Jamie's dad: - I'm sorry she never got her miracle. - You were her miracle.

So, be grateful for life , because we are surrounded by blessings, and open your eyes and heart to what is truly important.

Thoughts on Dying for the People

Yesterday, 53 years ago, on December 4, 1969, Fred Hampton, Chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party, was drugged and executed in his sleep during a raid on his apartment. He was 21 years old. Those who executed him were a unit from the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, who coordinated with both the Chicago Police Department and the FBI (COINTELPRO). Fellow Panther Mark Clark was executed in the same night-time attack, and four others were injured, including Hampton’s pregnant partner. Who was Fred Hampton? In his short life, Hampton was able to ideologically and politically sharpen the Panthers throughout the country, and built up Chicago Panthers into a force to be reckoned with. He was already organizing breakfasts for children in his neighborhood at 10 years old, and provided him with experiences and skills that enriched his later Panther organizing, which included a free breakfast program for children. He remained an organizer throughout high school, as well as a leading student, with honors and varsity letters. In 1966, he began to increasingly identify US imperialism as the enemy of all working people. It was around this time that he encountered the Panthers and began to work with the community supervision program, which sought to patrol the police and hold them accountable for their violence. Within two or three years, he had managed to organize a nonaggression pact among Chicago's major gangs, campaigned against sexism and male chauvinism in the Black Panther Party, and began to lead the Party in Illinois.

Not only did his work lift up the Panthers, but all anti-imperialists who were seeking to unite for the end of US imperialism. He was the principal organizer of the original Rainbow Coalition, a multi-cultural, multi-national coalition of anti-racist, anti-imperialist organizations such as the Young Patriots, Young Lords, Brown Berets, American Indian Movement, Red Guard Party, Students for a Democratic Sociality, Rising Up Angry, Mothers and Others, and others.  Hampton, like Malcolm X, was one of the greatest revolutionaries who lived in the US through the twentieth century. He was known for loving and serving the working class, his disciplined practice, thoughtful leadership, and sharp analysis. Hamptons are a rarity, which is why already at 18/19 years old, the FBI began surveilling Hampton and attempted to sabotage his work and relationships. He was one of countless organizers and activists in the U.S. who have been surveilled, targeted, and/or executed by their own government.  As soon as the news of Hampton’s death began to circulate, thousands of panthers, allies and supporters pilgrimaged from all over the country to Chicago.

Dying for the people

I used to be willing to die for my sexual purity, and for True Father, and for the cause of protecting Korea from communism. For some time after leaving the Moonies, I thought dying for a cause was the mindset of a cultist. Over time, I’ve come to recognize that many live, and are willing to die, for a cause because they have realized there is no other choice. Studying the church’s history, and US history, made this clear to me. Understanding what the third world experiences under the boot(s) of imperialism of all stripes (US, Japanese, British, Chinese, French, etc.).

This particular George Jackson speaks to what I’m driving what:

"Settle your quarrels, come together, understand the reality of our situation, understand that fascism is already here, that people are already dying who could be saved, that generations more will live poor butchered half-lives if you fail to act. Do what must be done, discover your humanity and your love in revolution."

Unification Church and Counterinsurgency

The Unification Church’s support from the US government undoubtedly had something to do with the upsurge of revolutionary politics in the U.S. in the 60s and 70s. There are many reasons why people got involved with the church, as varying techniques and forms of “heavenly deception” were used throughout the church centers, but for many American young adults who joined the Moonies at this time, the church offered a path that was explicitly not the worn-out capitalist American Dream. For many of them, too, it took weeks, months even, to begin to realize they were in fact joining a religious organization.

For the generation emerging out of the Vietnam War, and yet remaining in a world in the midst of anti-colonial uprisings and revolutionary movements seizing power, “the movement” spoke to the dreams, hopes, and weariness of a generation that longed for peace, meaning, and some sense of grounding. The US was experiencing radical social change, with the youth making what seemed to be extreme statements about sex, government, politics, gender, and religion. Even for those who were apolitical, the shifting values of their generation left many feeling unanchored and unable to discern the world. The Moonies spoke to that sense. This new faith and movement led hundreds of Moonies and CARP members to cooperate with the FBI on a COINTELPRO-like program to sabotage the organizing of anti-imperialist activists in solidarity with El Salvador. Even after the USSR and China went down the capitalist road, and many post-colonial countries went down the path of semi-colonialism, we remain in a world with shifting values, where revolutionary organizations and ideas are now re-emerging, growing, and in many places taking hold of the people’s hearts, such as among millions of workers and peasants in India, the Philippines, Brazil, Turkey, etc. And just as this was true back in the 60s and 70s, so is the trend of the US government murdering activists and organizers, principally among Black youth. A number of grassroots organizers in the Black Liberation Movement have gone missing or had mysterious deaths since the Ferguson uprising. The U.S. also continues supports efforts to repress social movements and eliminate activists throughout the world, including in the Philippines, where thousands have been killed for being suspected communists by arms paid by the US tax dollars and created by a UC-owned weapons company, SNT Motiv/S&T Motiv. The Moonies were a vital force in post-Marcos Philippine counterinsurgency planning, as the ones who organized conferences between Philippine military leaders and politicians, Philippine cultural figures and celebrities, CIA, US generals, and other leaders and “experts,” to figure out how to suppress the Communist threat of the New People’s Army. Same problems

Our problems remain the same. The Philippine government is still ruthlessly chopping up activists, claiming them as NPA. The US government is still funding the murder of communists. The Unification “movement” remains a tool of counterinsurgency. There have been major defeats of the people in the US in the past 50-60 years, as there have been globally, but the path toward victory zigzags, as mistakes are made, new conditions arise, and lessons are learned. The people always come back to the realization that they must fight in order to win. As capitalism in its highest stage, which is imperialism, grows increasingly more unstable, it will also grow increasingly more violent, especially as the climate crises becomes even more prevalent. The working and colonized people of the world will not take this forever, and in order to survive, they will have to unite and fight to defeat imperialism. As they have before, again and again, and as they are even now, the people will continually rise up towards the final victory: a classless, stateless world free of imperialist domination and war and capitalist exploitation. As conditions worsen, more and more will see that such a future is worth living and dying for.

Мои “кукло-итоги 2022”:

1. Кукла года в личной коллекции. Ну, итог года не меняется)) В этом году это снова Беляночка. Новые красивые наряды и много внимания. Отдельная любовь в этом году досталась еще и моей Рейнбоу Хай — Лили Чен. Вот уж кто покорил мое сердечко и меньше чем за пол года обзавелся внушительным гардеробом и обилием аксессуаров. В общем, эти две барышни разоряли меня весь год и, надеюсь, продолжат и в будущем радовать меня своим видом. 2. Кукла-мечта/цель сл. года: Не кукла, а скорее 2 моих персонажа: Дракон и Хули-Цзин. Очень хочу воплотить их в какой-нибудь базе, но все подходящие варианты были пропущены в этом году. Повторение прошлого итога: 3 куклы от chimeradoll со множеством лиц на новых телах: кицунэ, тенгу и феникс. 3 божества в изящном формате. Так же остается тело для моей головы Kaorin от Black Cherry —  Volks SDGR женское в нормале с красивыми комплектами рук. И, наверное, все же хочу купить Fairyland Chloe feeple65 в тане с 2-мя головами, несколькими комплектами рук и ступней. Из мелкоформата безумно хочу Monster High Cleo de Nile старого образца и Monster High Clawdeen Wolf тоже старого образца, но в праздничном прочтении. Так же, очень хочу купить Rainbow High Paris Hilton в качестве базы для Ванцзы и вторую Rainbow High Shadow High Shanelle Onyx для кастома, а так же кого-нибудь из LOL OMG на полочку. Из эфемерного: куклу TinyFox или еще какую-нибудь винилку.

3. Разочарование года: Невозможность свободно оплачивать хотелки. Если раньше проблема была именно в наличие денег, то сейчас к этому прибавились сложности с заказами из иностранных магазинов. Некоторые площадки закрыты навсегда (Etsy, eBay и т. п.). Вроде, и можешь купить что-то, но вот как это оплатить?! В общем, хрень какая-то(( А самое разочаровывающее — это то, что и в 2023 году проблема не решится. 4. Открытие года: Мелкоформат. Как-то так внезапно я переключилась на Rainbow High и Monster High. Честно, очень долго отбрыкивалась, но мой 2017-й меня догнал. И, к сожалению, сейчас мелкоформат намного дороже и менее доступнее, чем раньше. Но, все же более реален, чем BJD. Тут хоть есть много площадок, где это можно купить или заказать. В общем, я заценила по полной, что называется: Rainbow High Chinese New Year Collector doll 2022 Lily Cheng, Rainbow Vision Shadow High Neon Shadow - Harley Limestone и Rainbow High Shadow High Shanelle Onyx.  Monster High Reel Drama Black and White dolls 2022: Lagoona Blue и  Frankie Stein. И это еще без тех, что только едут ко мне. Ну, а там, глядишь, и Барби не за горами. Одна уже есть на примете. В BJD – это фирма TinyFox и их виниловые куклы. Неожиданно, но эта милота очень зашла мне в этом году. Подкупил новый материал, продажи продуманным фуллсетом и чуть более доступная цена. Еще одно открытие -   крошки обицу 11 в секретных коробочках. Походу, я не удержусь и куплю себе маленького кентаврика. 5. Событие года: Пусть будет Доллскар. Воспоминания немного замылились, но пока это один из самых приятных доллскаров) Я купила дофига вещей для соих минифи и фиплы, я купила хули-цзин для своего печального кицунэ (Лань Чжань дождался своего Вей Усяня). Для мекня это одна из удивительных покупок, ведь вначале лис вообще был другим персонажем и я пришла для покупки черного волка ему в пару или еще кого-то попроще. Но там, будто специально для него, был предложен мой Сянь-Сянь: золотой бубенцик на красной ленточке, черный мех и 3 длинных хвоста с белыми кончиками. А еще, огромные золотые глазица, взирающие на меня с белой маски-мордочки. В общем, я покорена)) И мой Лань Чжань тоже). Еще успела купить обувку на минифи и чудесные кошачьи ушки для минифи. В общем, спустила кучу денег и, если бы не ограниченный бюджет, унесла бы еще много всего. 6. Безумие года: Покупка ахрененно дорогих аутфитов. Один — это невероятное подвенечное платье для Беляночки. На него мне указала знакомая при встрече. В общем, ночь мучение, влезание в долги и, аутфит уже красуется на моей любимице. Второй — это мой грааль, аутфит от Minifee Carol. Отдала за него какие-то нереальные деньги, долго ждала отправку и вот, гештальт закрыт. Аутфит у меня на полке)) Отдельное безумие — скупка аутфитов на Rainbow High. Честно, прям ушла в отрыв. 8. Сюрприз года: Алула)) Точнее, что мне в подарок к ней положили запасные бедра — это было потрясающе! Вообще, уже то, что я ее получила — большой сюрприз. Куча нервов, денег и вот, я уже распаковываю свою сиреневую мышу. Куча ручек, замечательные каблучные ножки и, та-дам — более подвижные бедра! Невероятна рада этому подарку. Отдельный сюрприз — это то, как сильно мне в жизни понравилась Monster High Howliday Winter Edition Draculaura. Невероятная!!! Очень элегантная и царственная. Последний сюрприз — это крылья Minifee в тане!! Очень внезапный подарок! 9. Крышеснос года: Мелкоформат и Rainbow High. В BJD, что странно, такого не было. Ну, т. е. Были приятные выпуски и т. п., FairyLand радует стабильно, но именно крышеснос только у Rainbow High. 10. Глупость года: та самая моя фраза. Ну, и возможно, что я не купила некоторые вещи и кукол, о которых теперь так жалею. 11. Неприятность года: сложности с друзьями. 12. Умиление года: Приехал заказанный больше года назад кролик от Лунгов)) Милота невероятная, так что к нему в пару взяла второго. Супер-спонтанно, но как тут удержаться)) Постоянное умиление — мой Руди. Маленькая карамелька, который выручал меня на встречах в этом году. 13. Правильно решение года: Забрать Дия домой. Пора бы им заняться, 6 лет просто лежал в коробке. Надеюсь, в следующем году я смогу его доделать. Заказ розовой меховой шубки на фиплу. Смотрится супер! И, я даже не ожидала, что мне так сильно понравится образ Барби, примеренный на BJD. В общем, я очень довольна! Еще одно правильное и спонтанное решение года — приготовить Луну! Аллилуя, я доделала свой долгостой — MiniFee Chloe в образе Луны: мейк на обеих головах, идеальные глаза и парик!! Урурур, прям супер!! Еще немного и, смогу доделать и Алисию, и мою ведьму. Ах да, еще правильно было оплатить все старые заказы и искать вещи на TaoBao. 14. Жаба года: Чиби-лана. Надо было брать, собрала бы всех Эллан. Но, это так, мелочи. Ступила и не успела на аутфит от TinyFox – очень обидно. Ах да, еще LuuusiQ - No. Six. Надо было брать. 15. Настроение года: где взять деньги на все хотелки?! 16. Непонятки года: Как покупать в хобби? Что вообще происходит? 17. Бренд года:  Rainbow High и  FairyLand. Остальное зацепило в меньшей степени. 18. Продажа года: Мой Хаски от Доллши в тане. Плак-плак, но было надо. Еще пытаюсь продать обиженную головушку, но что-то не идет. 19. Несбывшаяся мечта года: Ruggedrealism: Erato и Tresno в размере 65! Ну, как бы ожидаемо. В целом, год сложный: многое просто невозможно было достать или оплатить. 20. Сбывшаяся мечта: Эллана и Аллула дома!!! Ура)) Не могу еще осознать, что несмотря на все сложности, они доехали до меня. А еще, я купила аутфит от Минифи Кэрол и получила свой набор Алисии!! Все, гештальт закрыт. Так же, как и покупка Ху-яо Усяня для моего Кицунэ-Ванцзы. Его тоже можно было отнести к неожиданным покупкам.

21. Равнодушие года: Soom. Окончательно охладела. 22. Утрата года: Общая компания друзей. Все разбежались и, мне невероятно тяжело с этим жить. Ощущаю себя потерянным ребенком, чьи родители в разводе. Гнетущее ощущение бесполезности и беспомощности. 23. Неожиданная покупка года: Вообще, весь год был полон неожиданных покупок: тут и аутфит Minifee Carol, и аутфит Tous Les Garcons для Беляночки, и нереальные покупки на Доллскаре, и заказ на Doll Chateau julianne, рассрочка на Minifee Hwayu Designer Complete (The Catacomb), сплит на Fairyland Halloween Event 2022 Minifee Halloween Head (BW) и на платье от FeePle60 Sia Designer Complete (Crow Witch), а так же внезапная покупка еще одного кролика от LoongSoul Doll. И, вроде как покупка ушастой головы Minifee от Fairyland для будущего пацана. В общем, учитывая год, все покупки были супер спонтанными. 24. Итог года: 70 кукол) Год был сложный, очень нестабильный. Но я открыла для себя новый формат, в полной мере оценила небольших кукол и их удобство. Так что планирую поселить у себя больше разной милоты, а так же приготовить больших кукол. Надеюсь, в следующем году я куплю все свои граали и доделаю нужных персонажей!!!

PERSONALITY: Silver tends to come off as stand-off ish and cold to anyone he meets, including the one's he grew up with. However, Silver wasn't always like this; so depieved of life and happiness. The day he found his mother's cold, dead body on the porch, it was like a piece of himself also died that day. Silver blames himself for his mother's death.

HISTORY: His childhood years weren't all sunshine and rainbows. From the age of five, Silver started to notice weird things around the shrine: from black figures lurking around corners to voices. Scared, he often hide inside his mother's room and wouldn't come out from underneath her bed until it was morning. His mother could hug her son to her chest until he calmed down on the days where it became too much. When Silver turned seven years old, his mother thought it was finally time to explain things to her son and introduced him to the work he'd soon inherit.

The neighborhood kids' often made fun of Silver for things they couldn't understand. They cursed at him, calling him names all because he was different. Red with anger, Silver fought back. Punch after punch, the boy did not stop despite his knuckles being bloody and bruised until they ran away with their tail between their legs. They promised they'd beat him up next time.

This went on for months. And it wasn't until the day of his mother's death that Silver changed; for better or worse, no one knows.

It was a normal June morning; the sun was shining through the leaves and the humidity was already high. He kissed his mother goodbye before running to school with a piece of toast in his mouth. Normally, the kids at the school would throw things at him as he walked by and/or whispered to each other. However, none of that happened. A little weirded out, and slightly concerned, Sliver paid no attention to the sudden changed and went on with his day.

Something was wrong. Silver never figured out what was wrong until he got home. The front gate was open, barely hanging by its hinges. An unknown sense of fear crashed over him as he ran down the path that lead him towards his house. Only to find his mother's body on the porch, dead.

Heeseung (희승) is a member of the boygroup ENHYPEN who debuted on November 30th, 2020.
