im curious would you ever draw genshin or hsr? have a nice day!!
hi!! hmm i did draw a venti once, when the game first came out he was really popular and i liked the colour scheme + thought his penchant for liquor was hilarious. but no generally im not interested in genshin impact or honkai star rail... the super elaborate character design style (while pretty) + gacha format is not my cup of tea.
mad respect for the game and its fans tho who create such great fan works, i save a lot of the fanart. here's venti!
why DOES HE MOVE LIKE THIS CAN SOMEONE TELL ME I CAN’T STOP LAUGHING EVERYTIME I REWATCH BECAUSE HE’S ALWAYS JOGGING FROM PLACE TO PLACE OR WALKING LIKE HE’S GOT A VENDETTA AGAINST THE WORLD
cw for discussion of OCD, specifically obsessions surrounding "curses" and possession.
i think it'd be interesting if one of the reasons stanley had such a hard time accepting pennywise existed was that when he was younger he struggled a lot with other-worldly based obsessions (being convinced that he was cursed or possessed mainly), and a few years before IT he manages to sort of get a lid on these obsessions because he's become a stringent non-believer in the supernatural. he isn't "cursed", and he doesn't need to do anything to avoid being "cursed" because curses aren't real. these obsessions used to be completely debilitating for him, he ran on about four hours of sleep every day because he was afraid of being overtaken by a malevolent force while unconscious, and if he heard any superstition mentioned even off-hand, it was added to a long list of things he couldn't do/had to do to avoid being cursed. but he's finally beaten this, he hardly even worries about these things anymore because his unbelief is so strong.
and then! pennywise! and he can't even trust his own eyes anymore. and if pennywise is real, what else could be out there? if pennywise is real who's to say he won't be possessed in his sleep? who's to say stepping on sidewalk cracks is harmless? which of course sends him into a spiralling pit of denial, because he can't go back to staring at the ceiling waiting for the night to be over, he can't go back to avoiding every number even tangentially related to 13, he can't go back to the way he used to be.
i don't have a fun ending for this, he lives in fear until he loses his memories, at which point he once again becomes a total non-believer and copes extremely well with his OCD, i think he's diagnosed around 30, but he doesn't actually need a lot of help from professionals. this is another reason mike's phone call hits him so hard, not only is he remembering pennywise, he's also suddenly having to deal with a whole new type of obsession he isn't equipped to cope with.
i guess i should be advertising this a little more confidently, but this is kind of a strange experience for me so there you go.
i wrote a 2.7k losers club fic as a method of procrastinating nanowrimo, and now it’s actually out there in the world so,,, check it out!!
it features all of the losers, it’s based almost entirely upon the book as opposed to the miniseries/films, and it’s pretty much just me filling in the gaps (episodically and emotionally) between them fighting it and leaving derry ⤵️
So as an experiment I listened to 4+ hours of Nickelback recently and I have some interesting Observations:
Their best music is usually either from the 90's when they were a grunge band or very recent
50% of their 2000's music is generic rock that was dated at the time it came out and the other 50% is embarrassingly earnest country
Like I'd be willing to bet that some of their bad reputation came in part from how??? genuine????? their country stuff was?????? And people are allergic to emotion??????
I hate Far Away though. I can't stand it. sounds like a song straight out of a cousin wedding
UNRELATED BUT the rock lyrics are like wow there's a woman. and she's so bad. she's so baddy bad
Also there's a sea shanty version of one of their songs linked to their Spotify and if you listen to 3 hours of Nickelback in a row it is like a breath of fresh air
In the episode where Huey is an intern for Beaks, “The Infernal Internship Of Mark Beaks” (S1 E7) he says he’ll become the “Duke of Making a Mess.” While throwing shit around the office. In “Happy Birthday Doofus Drake” (S2 E18) Della says “You could level up to become the ‘Duke of the Destruction’.” Then in “The Split Sword of Swanstantine” (S3 E14) they take the concept even further and have “The Duke” as an actual entity, and an actual part of Huey that he is aware of and actively repressing. This is a weird three season arc for a random concept that was definitely originally intended as a one-off joke.
