Omg I come here because of the "2022 is the year of Ghost" post!!! (which thank you for putting together and omg... what a ride). I'm not sure if you got this asked before, but could you let usk now how it was meeting Papa? How was interacting with him, and how was the before and after?? I haven't been to a ritual yet, but i'm saving from when they start touring again, since I want to go to the meet and greet so bad! Would love to hear your experience though (if you're ok sharing!) <3

I’m glad you liked the post, it was fun putting together and I love the additions everyone made too!! It’s been such an eventful year. And I’d love to tell the story of meeting Papa, definitely one of the biggest highlights of my year! It’s something nice to look back on when I’m feeling down.

The interactions are brief due to time and the amount of people with the anointed packages (so many people, anon, I was pleasantly surprised!!) They also normally take place during the other opening bands (in this case it was Mastadon who performed right before Ghost). Basically, the Anointed VIPs are lined up, then taken in small groups of I think 10-20 at most, and led to a small, dark room. A corner of the room is boxed in with black curtains- where Papa is waiting. I was the fourth person in line. I’d been third but I chickened out and made @ghoulish-ghrace go before me, I was FREAKED!! Excited but terrified lol. They don’t make it any better for you, no, the room in dimly lit with smoke, incense, various ambient horror film soundtracks with the impending dread of actually meeting the character you’ve been obsessed with for however long it’s lasted up to that point. Eventually it was my go and I was directed to the little curtained corner. It looked something like this-

The curtain was pulled aside revealing Papa, and he’s very much there. Like straight away, first thing I notice, BOOM in your face, jumpscare. From photos and videos, it’s a little easier to tell “yeah, this is a dude in a mask”, you can look at those things and nitpick the fine details to differentiate the fantasy from the reality. In real time, this dude looks fucking real. And Tobias doesn’t disappoint, he really does go into Papa mode and doesn’t slip in his performance from the mannerisms, the way he holds himself, the accent, everything. Onto the actual interaction, I was inside the mini room and he was literally face-to-face with me. I was still in frightened animal mode and I’m not gonna lie- he noticed and made it apparent but only out of kindness and comfort. It started off with him saying “hello” and “how are you doing tonight?” I answered with something about being okay but scared. He responded with “don’t be, it’s just me” (NO DUH YEAH ITS JUST YOU THATS WHY IM FREAKING OUT, MATE). I told him he looked amazing and he replied “as do you, you look very nice tonight” (which I will carry with me to my grave) and he asked me if I was ready for the photo. I was kind of frantic and saying sorry a lot but as always, Papa was so sweet and patient, never got irritated, but at the same time attempted to comfort. Outside the character, I realize he’s totally been in this position before and probably gets it. The photo-taking placed him on the other side of the plexiglas bc of the COVID restrictions but he’s still very close! I still stayed farther away than I should have but hey, I was nervous, this was my first M&G ever AND with my favorite artist of all time. After the photo, I was getting ready to leave, Papa steps in my way to face me, no plexiglass in our way, and we were facing each other with him super close this time with fucking like breath on my face and that piercing stare you hear about so much that definitely lives up to what people tell. Trying not to cry (failed) and trying to keep eye contact (semi-success), I listened as he told me softly, “hey, it’s okay, you’re going to be okay. Now, I want you to go out there, make some friends, have fun and have a good time tonight. Can you do that for me?” I promised I would. I thanked him for everything he’s done and for being patient with me. I almost went to the wrong side of the tent to leave but I was able to turn around and say “goodbye, Papa” and he gave me a little wave watching me leave. Also would like to note that he’s not very tall but does try to loom (I’m fairly short tho so he’s got some height over me, the intimidation was effective. Tobias-1, Adri-0).

Now after all of that and making absolutely sure I hadn’t pissed myself yay, I ran out to find my friend and tackled them nearly to the ground. Noticed a few other fans looking like they were about to bolt and I let them know Papa was so kind and so sweet, it was definitely going to be worth it. I think that’s another thing, be there for your ghesties. It’s as nerve wracking as it is fun but it’s a lot better when you’ve got others to support you through it. Trust me, like I said with “Papa” included, you’re not alone and everyone’s been in this position and it’s okay to apprehensive despite the hard work you did to get there. If there’s advice I have to give, it’s that and also play along with Papa! He’s not Tobias Forge, he’s Papa. The play element makes it a bit easier. If you’re a little like me, script oriented interactions are easier. If you treat this like acting and playing along with the fun, it makes it more enjoyable. And even if that’s too much, you’re not sure what to say or you forget what you were going to say- that’s okay! Papa will be sure to make the experience as personal to you as he can. Just being polite and appreciative of his time and work are enough. Normally, gifts exchanges were allowed but cut out due to COVID restrictions. However, there was a very kind person running everything that I gave my gift for Papa to. He promised me that he’d personally make sure that Papa would get it and gave me his word. If you have anything to give Papa, check the venue websites for restrictions on what is or isn’t allowed in and if you ask the show runners if Papa may have your gift, they will likely work with you on that too.

After all of that pt. 2, I texted my mum and let her know about everything that happened haha. The rest of the night was a blast, my friend and I both got to the barrier area! Papa and his ghouls were also interactive on stage with us. So even if you aren’t able to grab a M&G, chances are you can still get some interaction during the ritual. Somehow making eye contact with him onstage and him gesturing towards you a few times is still as scary as the M&G ehhehehe.

After I think around a week, the photos with Papa are sent to you via email. After scrolling through all of them (yes, you were sent to a website where you’d see everyone’s lol), you’ll find yours. Here is mine:

But yeah, that’s the gist of it, Anon! Despite the short interaction, it’s well worth it in the end. Like many, I worked hard to get there mentally and financially, and I’m sure you will to. sum. he meticulously planned the night out, she was busy with her routine. ( basically gojo trying to be bold and manly but the bold and manly doesnt want to be him )

"BABE! COME QUICK — NOW!"

voice louder than ever, gojo's curled into a ball, on the couch, diverting his eyes everywhere but the tv screen. it was movie night — or so it was supposed to be. you left him alone in the creeping dark. left him all alone to tend to your nighttime routine.

you see, truth be told, he's absolutely terrified of horrors. the setting, the music, the jumpscares, the plot — everything. poor gojo wanted to be a romantic "i'm here for you," man for his girl but it seems like that plan is screwed! he does not have a plan b in mind. there was one sole plan and it didn't consider the possibility of him being scared shitless.

you both decided on having a horror marathon. as the month of halloween dawns closer, it's only fitting to watch horror-themed stuff, right? not quite. there's one person who's covering their eyes with the blanket every time it gets intense and it's no one other than gojo satoru.

the plan was picture-perfect:

a) get the scariest horror movie.

b) watch to see when you're scared.

c) put his arms around you, bring you into his body, and whisper, "it's okay, don't fear."

d) become your knight in shining armor.

clearly, this plan was not properly thought out. he's shivering in fear, waiting for his knight in shining armor to save him from the misery — and also from the thought of some demon waiting to jump at him from behind the tv.

the movie's soundtrack quiets, only the character's hesitating footsteps towards the locked room can be heard. as they walk closer, the door creaks open. nothing's in the room..? "that's... strange," they whispered, stepping into the room with their oil-based lamp. the camera pans to the left: nothing suspicious. it pans to the right: nothing out of the ordinary. it goes back to the center and—

"FUCK no," gojo turns the tv off. he knew what was about to come, and he wasn't going to sit through it.

suddenly, as if the saying of art mimics real life comes true, he hears the same hesitating footsteps. strange, the tv's off. absolutely not, he thinks, balling up the blanket ready to leave. fastening his steps to the front door, he grabs the keys off the counter. the keys have gone in the keyhole, and so did a hand on gojo's shoulder.

he freezes. body gone stiff. breathing halted. heartbeat intensifies. what the fuck.

"babe? where are you going?" you questioned, confused as to why gojo's ready to sneak out in pajamas and a blanket.

gojo doesn't respond. he's watched that movie for long enough to realize it doesn't have to be you who's talking.

however, it is you, and you're very confused. after finishing your routine, you came down to watch the movie with him only to be met with a mess of popcorn, tv off, and a missing gojo.

"babe? you alright?" you questioned again, this time grabbing him with both hands and turning him to face you.

"who are you?" it's his turn to question. you look like you, but are you really you? a question that only makes sense to the man himself.

"i'm y/n, duh."

"then prove it," he demands. if it's truly his beloved, he knows how she'd react.

hands on hip, your face twisted into a mix of confusion, deadpan, and slightly amused. "what are you on about, satoru?"

"oh my god you're an imposter," his conclusion makes him turn back to the door, frantically twisting the keys to unlock the barrier that keeps him from safety.

without looking back, he walked out the door, tripping on himself as he sought his safety. all you can do is shrug. he'll be back in two minutes maximum.

SUPER OLD RAINBOW! ART THREAD!!! Open only if you are brave enough to face teen me's cringe art...

(mostly joking but fr white Mimi and skinny Boo jumpscare below)

Very first digital piece of Boo and Mimi circa 2011!! I was 14 when I drew this. Usually I'm able to look back fondly at super old art of mine but this one does make me cringe a liiiiittle bit. Mimi girl what are you wearing, why are you white. Boo also had pink eyes in the beginning, which she would continue to have for several years to come (even in the current iteration of RAINBOW! they were pink at first, I later recolored those pages) but it was only later that it was due to the color scheme of the comic and not because they were literally pink. I'm pretty sure they were meant to be contacts, because their hair is and always have been dyed rather than anime-esque natural colorful hair, so that was some crazy dedication from Boo back in the day.

More 2011 art showing off Mimi's goth/scene-ish style and green eyes. They were initially meant to have pastel and neon fashion senses, respectively. The story was already named at this point, only a few days or maybe weeks into its inception, which is impressive considering it has taken us literal years to name other stories (I'm looking at you, Phantom Pains)

this one is from super early 2012! Interesting to think that this was less than 9 months later since it feels completely different to me. The first version of the comic had started at this point, and the pink and green color scheme was just starting to develop. This lineup features some characters that would later be cut. Lucian and Lily were friends of Boo, and Cecilia was Mimi's ex girlfriend. Notably Clarice is not on this lineup, and frankly I'm not sure why.

A picture I drew to commemorate 50 fans on RAINBOW!'s smackjeeves page, mid 2012. Boo's outfit resembled a recolored version of her 2011 outfit, but I have no idea what Mimi is wearing. What. are. you. wearing.

Chibi-ish drawings of Boo and Mimi cosplaying various characters, from early 2013. Homura Mimi is very funny to me, I really don't know why I didn't draw her as Kyoko. I assume I was trying to keep them as paired characters, but I didn't do that with the Sailor Moon or Disney ones, so I who knows why I did it with PMMM. Mimi's hairstyle changes to a shaved cut somewhere around this time, but it is much more dramatic than her current undercut, and her hair is still pretty long. Boo is wearing a closet cosplay of Fluttershy that I myself wore once. These also resemble the chibi-ish drawings on the chapter intermission pages of RAINBOW! Vol 1.

A character study I did in late 2013, which would be shortly after I made a major style shift into the art style that would eventually develop into the one I currently have. At this point, Boo was meant to be fatter than Mimi, but the execution wasn't really there at all. There is also a doodle at the bottom of me and Sunny at the time (I am the one with long hair), expressing thanks for 300 fans on smackjeeves. Considering it had 50 in mid 2012, the readership was pretty slow growing back then.

outfit exploration for Mimi, circa 2014. At this point I started to expand the color scheme a little bit more so that not every character would be paper-white, though she is still very pale even though she is no longer meant to be white anymore. None of these outfits really resemble her current style, and I don't particularly like any of them either. It took me a very long time to settle on a fashion sense for her.

an Adventure Time-eqsue drawing of Mimi and Boo that I actually drew less than two weeks after the previous image despite the difference in things such as the way the hair was drawn. I had to include this one because it blew up overnight, which was a huge deal for highschool me, I remember checking my phone at school a lot because it was just getting hundreds or even thousands of notes over the span of the day. I think it has something like 16,000 notes. Still the post with the highest number of notes I have by far, so I guess I peaked in high school, whomp whomp

More fashion exploration, this time of Mimi and Boo, from early 2015. The color scheme is starting to approach what it currently is, but much more dull since I used to be afraid of bright colors. Mimi's fashion sense is starting to get closer to what it currently is, but the pastel goth influence that was popular in early-mid 2010s tumblr is apparent. In chapter 1, Boo wears an outfit that is extremely similar to the one with the bear shirt, except it's a rabbit instead. The dress that Mimi gives to Boo is also almost identical to the depiction of it here. This drawing implies that Mimi was originally going to be present in the film noir scene where Boo finds her mom, which is interesting...

Another cast lineup! This one is from late 2015-early 2016. Mimi is wearing an outfit pretty similar to what she wears in chapter 1 but with the colors altered. The execution of Boo's body type is starting to improve but she's still kind of pear-shaped. Mimi is also a little more square, and her hair finally looks like the style she has now. Clarice gets to be in the lineup this time and she is SUPER tall. I think she is still taller than Milo. And Mimi is around 5'7"-5'8", so Clarice must be around 6 foot by that logic.

The original version of chibi-ish Boo riding a bike in her Kiki outfit, from 2016. I think it was meant to be a banner of some kind, possibly for tapas or tumblr. A newer version of this drawing features as a chapter intermission drawing in the physical book.

The original cover for RAINBOW! from 2017. The color scheme is finally starting to get a little brighter! This is actually a redraw of an older drawing from 2014, I want to draw it again someday. Also, I was going by Rain at the time.

A drawing I did in late 2017 for a class in which we were meant to try digital painting and I went for a very simple approach. I like that Mimi's legs are a little noodle-y. This is also the first drawing where Mimi's eyes are no longer green, but dark pink instead. By the language of RAINBOW!'s color scheme, that means they are brown. Boo's eyes are still pink, however.

Another drawing for a class, this time from 2018. I can't remember the specifics of the assignment, but I used the opportunity to draw the playground and Max, the dog, for the first time. I like the way the trees look in this. That little snip of hair by Mimi's ear also made a reappearance here for some reason.

The original version of the drawing that would become the cover of RAINBOW! Vol 1, from mid 2019! I believe I drew it to be a banner on Tapas, but I used it for tumblr as well.

And lastly, Boo and Mimi outfit sheets from 2019-2020. I messed with them for a while, hence the timeframe. Boo's eyes are finally green, which I changed since I liked the idea of Mimi having green hair and pink eyes, and Boo having pink hair and green eyes, as if they are reflected a bit in each other. Outside of RAINBOW!'s color scheme, Boo's eyes are actually blue though. It took about a decade, but I finally settled on a fashion sense for Mimi.

BONUS ART!!! 💖💖✨✨ I thought these would be better grouped together rather than chronologically with the rest.

RAINBOW!'s banners from its era on smackjeeves! Smackjeeves didn't have square/circular icons but rather these thin long banners which could also be animated. I thought that was so fun, so I always animated them at least a little, even though one doesn't seem to work. It was customary to write girls love/boys love on the banner of mlm/wlw romance stories then, so almost all of them say that. I still see that trend on some comics on webtoon and tapas nowadays. They are from 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2017. I don't believe the 2017 one was ever used.

And RAINBOW!'s icon throughout the years! I always refused to change it, only update it, because I thought it was really cute. They are from (approximately) 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021.

And finally, art from 2021 of Mimi with her cousin August, who will be the protagonist of our next comic, Phantom Pains. Weird to think that we'll be on that comic in foreseeable future, since it is also over 10 years old now. “You want to watch a horror movie?” you frown, raising an eyebrow as you stare at your lover who proudly has his arms crossed. “Yeah, why?" Are you doubting the one and oni?” Itto questioned, sounding slightly offended at the thought of you doubting him, making you chuckle.

“Of course not– I’ll just remind you that I’m terribly scared of horror.” you answer, scooting closer to him on the couch. “I know! That’s why I’ll protect you.” Itto told you, wrapping an arm around you and scrolling through movies on the TV.

Truth to be told, Itto was also scared shitless, if not, he was even more scared than you. Still he was set on watching a horror movie with you after countless hours of hyping himself up in preparation for this.

Why? It was simple, one conversation with the guys led to the other, and next thing he knew they were talking about romantic things; one thing apparently being protecting your partner when they were scared during a horror movie. 

You didn’t question the sudden suggestion, you just rolled with it, knowing Itto was trying his best to romanticize your already good relationship even more each day. 

Saying you were scared was an understatement, but just for today, you were prepared to suck it up. Especially because he looked so excited and set on his plans, and you loved this side of him, even if sometimes his plans weren’t the smartest.

“Itto?” you broke the silence as he continued scrolling through the horror section. “Yes love?” Itto answered, finally clicking on a movie that looked okay. Swallowing a breath as he reads the warnings, praying that you didn’t notice.

“Are you sure about this?” you asked once more, not wanting to force him into anything he didn’t want just for your or his pride’s sake. “You are doubting me.” he pouted, a slight playful tone lingered in his words and you slapped him playfully.

“ ‘m not, just play it.” you laughed, resting your head on his chest comfortably. “You chickening out?” Itto teased, trying to ignore his nerves with jokes. “Are you sure you aren’t?”

“Alright— I’ll start it.” Itto smiled, pressing play and putting the remote down. “Here goes nothing.” 

“I’ll protect you? "Really?" you questioned, throwing Itto’s words right back at him. “Sorry, can we p-please turn it off?” Itto answered, the two of you trembling in each other’s embrace after one of the worst jumpscares. 

Neither of you were made for horror but what was funnier was the fact that Itto, someone much bigger than you was on your lap, curled up like a little kitten, his back facing the TV.

“Finally.” you laughed, turning the TV off without daring to look at the screen, not when you were shaking with fear and had your boyfriend on top of you. You knew this most likely would’ve been the outcome, still you didn’t mind at all. “Sorry.” Itto mumbled, sounding defeated as he nuzzled his face into your neck.

Itto truly thought it was a smart plan and that it wouldn’t be that bad, he just wanted to be a little romantic yet his plans fell through the roof at the first jumpscare already. His pride was hurt and he was embarrassed, not because he was scared around you, but because his plan failed, having a little dip.

“It’s okay love.” you reassured him, noticing the clear shift in his mood. “Let’s just never watch horror ever again alright? We both don’t like it.” you ran your hands through his hair as you spoke, your fear from the movie slowly leaving your body as you focused on your lover. 

“I’m never following advice from the guys ever again.” Itto mumbled under his breath, breaking the silence and you giggled, shaking your head at his words. “Let’s not listen to them, at all.” you told him and in this moment, all Itto did was agree when usually it was the opposite.

“And never force yourself to watch horror, even if you want to look cool– I know you don’t like it and I love you as you are.” you reassured him, knowing his pride was most likely hurt. 

“Are you sure?” Itto pouted, finally facing you, defeat plastered all over his face and all you did was nod. “100% sure, let’s never do that again.” you answered, pecking his lips sweetly. “Yeah– I’m sorry for making you watch it.” he apologized, a sudden wave of guilt washing over when he remembered how you were also scared of it and he failed to “protect” you.

“It’s okay Itto, I promise.” you reassured him and he nodded, resting his face on your shoulders, relaxing in your embrace. “And fuck horror.”

“Yeah, fuck that.”

141 boys going into a haunted house, who do you think would come out of it screaming? 🤔

My money's on Soap but it'd be really funny if GHOST is actually the one coming out of it screaming like he just saw Death himself. 🤭

I think that, in a surprise turn of events, Price would be the one who comes out the most scared.

No one expects it, everyone is already ribbing Soap, thinking he'll be the one who screams the most and gets scared the most. Soap is insisting that it won't happen, but the rest of the 141 know that he's the easiest to scare with a simple "boo!" and surprise jump from around a corner, so they definitely don't believe him.

Meanwhile, Price is (smartly) being very quiet. Nik is next to him grinning like a mad man because he knows. He knows that while John Price might be an unshakable man in the battlefield, this isn't the battlefield.

So the group go in together, everything is fine for the first like few minutes when they're just walking through, but haven't reached any scary parts. They they hit the first room and shit hits the fan.

The first person pops out at them, Soap of course jumps, but so does Roach and Gaz. Ghost could smell a cheap jumpscare from a mile, so he's just chilling.

Meanwhile behind the group, Price has already tucked himself against Nik's side. He has a death grip on this man's arm and Nik has to like literally coax him to keep going forward. The team is too distracted laughing to notice.

Then they get to the next room and this is when they start realizing that it won't be Soap who gets the most scared. Another scare moment happens and they can all hear clear as day as Price literally yelps at whatever the actor does. They turn and realize Price is now behind Nik, forcing the man to go in front of him as they push through.

Each room gets worse and worse until finally Price breaks away from the group and is rushing ahead to try and get out quicker. Nik is following behind him quicker and, even pretty far back the boys can hear Price screaming as he's pushing through to the end.

When they come out he's literally like hunched over trying to catch his breath and dry heaving as Nik comforts him. They learn pretty quickly afterwards that apparently their Captain is terrified of shit like this. And, of course, they can't let him live it down, but they also never make him go into a haunted house with them again.

As for the others:

Ghost is stone faced, literally blank expression as a scare actor gets in his face a revs a chainsaw or screams. He is unimpressed and the most he'll do is compliment the actors costumes of the six before moving on.

Roach and Soap are clinging to Ghosts arm. Soap is definitely more scared of what's happening and jumps at practically everything. They get some good screams and pictures out of Soap.

Roach is holding on the Ghost for support because the dim lights and strobes and weird lighting makes him dizzy. Its not uncommon for him to trip and eat shit while in a haunted house. However, he also gets similarly scared like Soap and often buries his face in Ghost's shoulder for support. He doesn't scream, he nervously laughs so if you're behind their group, you hear screaming mixed with nervous laughter from him and Soap.

Gaz, if by himself, is probably like one of the normal haunted house goers. He gets pretty scared but can also laugh at himself while he's going through it. However, if he's with someone like, say, his boyfriend Paul Jackson, it's a little different.

Those two would be messing with each other the entire way through the haunted house, like scaring the shit out of the other before the actors even got a chance. However it leads to plenty of moments where one or both of them are distracted laughing and get the shit scared out of them by the scare actors.

You know those pictures that you see occasionally of like 2 guys in a haunted house screaming and clinging to each other? That's them.

BOO, daily Robin jumpscare!

I almost posted this one without the timelapse because it's kind of embarrassing but here it goes;

it's not intended to be used as a guide by anyone as I have no idea what I'm doing whenever I draw.

This was a drawing I did not intend to color at first so it's kind of rushed and scuffed, pay no mind.

Watching a horror movie with Kel

Warnings: Kel being MEAN, reader cries bc tbh I would too in this situation

A/n: silly little scenario also I’m SORRY I KNOW JM BEHIND ON REQUESTS! I’ll be sure to finish any I have in my inbox by Friday 💕

“I bet you $10 that you’ll be clinging onto me for dear life within the first 20 minutes of the movie” Kel says as the universal screen plays, you shake your head.

“Oh yeah? Well I bet $15 that I won’t look away from the screen once the entire time” Kel smirks at you, raising his brow.

“Oh yeah?”

“Oh yeah”

“Okay, bet”

You shake on it as the movie starts, your eyes staring at the screen as Kel turns the movie up, making sure to give you a smile as you glare at him slightly.

The movie he picked was definitely a good one. Lots of gore and lots of jumpscares. One that would usually have you cowering and clinging to him by now but you stayed strong. You can’t lose $15 to him like this. You flinch as another jumpscare plays, the loud volume of the tv not helping as you grip into the couch in fear, Kel noticing this.

“You sure this isn’t too scary? I can put on another one if you’re too chicken” he places an arm around you as you keep your eyes glued to the screen, determined to win the bet “hmmm you sure are shaking a lot…. I really don’t mind putting on a different movie”

“Keep it on.” Your voice is low as you flinch slightly at another jumpscare, heart beating out of your chest as the main character gets chased.

“…huh?” Kel sounded genuinely confused as your entire body stiffened, awaiting another jumpscare as Kel got up “well, since you’re so brave,” he paused the movie, finally allowing you to look at him “I’ll just be going to the bathroom real quick” he gives you a devious grin “you’ll be fine, won’t you?”

You frown and nod your head, facing back towards the tv only to find he paused it on the scariest scene as the horrifying monster stared back at you.

“…Kel?” Your voice seemed to echo in the dark as you turned around only to see that he wasn’t there “oh god… oh no…” you took deep breaths, pulling your knees up to your chest and wrapping the shared blanket tighter around you as you sat in the dark, staring back at the monster on the screen as it only seemed to get scarier.

It had been a while since Kel left, so you decided to be brave and go find him. He said he was going to the bathroom, right? All you have to do is go up the stairs. It’s not that bad. Just… dark.

Really dark.

You suddenly jump out of your skin, almost screaming as you hear static coming from the tv.

Nope, nope, nope.

You ran up the stairs, knocking rapidly on the bathroom door as panic filled you by the second.

“Kel? Kel I admit defeat! I’m scared! I’ll pay you the $15 later please just come back! Kel!?” Your voice was filled with desperation as tears filled your eyes, your hand moving to the door handle as you twisted it open, only to find the bathroom door unlocked.

“Kel..?”

“BOO!”

You crouched to the ground, screaming at the top of your lungs as Kel appeared from behind you, placing his hands on your shoulders to scare you- only he didn’t know how truly scared you were.

“Haha! Oh my god you should’ve seen your face when I- y/n? Are you crying?” He quickly switched the hallway light on, crouching down beside you as your body shook “oh… no.. baby I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you that badly! Are you okay? Come here, it’s alright, I gotcha… I’m sorry, baby” he wraps an arm around you, pulling you up as he holds you close to him and leads you to his bedroom.

“Okay, you sit there, I’ll go turn the tv off okay?-“ you cut him off as he’s about to leave as you grab his arm and look up at him, tears forming in your eyes.

“No don’t leave me!” You sound so panicked as his heart breaks. Maybe this prank went a little too far.

“…do you want to come with me?” You nod your head as he wraps an arm around you again as your fingers grip onto his shirt for dear life “it’s okay, I’m right here, nothings gonna hurt you” he whispers comforting words to you as you slowly descend down the dark staircase, your head buried in his chest once you get down there and as he turns off the tv. The house now sounding eerily silent as you hold him impossibly closer to you.

“Y/n, are you really that scared?” You frantically nod your head as he sighs and leads you back up the stairs, laughing slightly as you tug him along with you and speed into his room.

As you try to get to sleep, even kel’s arms wrapped around you can’t bring you peace. You turn away from the darkness and look at Kel, only to be too scared and turn back again. He grumbled as you moved around, holding you tighter as you pushed yourself further against him, trying to get away from the darkness that seemed so terrifying.

You felt his nose against your head as he buried his face in your hair; you turned around again, shoving your face into his chest as you tried to ignore the growing pit in your stomach to no avail. You were so tired but you just couldn’t get to sleep no matter how hard you tried.

Pulling your face away from his chest, you poked his shoulder, his arms tightening around you again as his legs curled into yours.

“…Kel… Kel?”

He wakes with a start, his eyes meeting yours as you give him a worried glance.

“Whuh- what’s up?” He rubs a hand over his face, his arm around you tightening as he yawns, moving to brush the hair out of your face as you speak.

“I’m- im sorry im still scared… can I sleep closer to the wall?” He nods, moving so that you can sleep on the inside, away from the seemingly endless darkness of his room.

“I’m sorry for scaring you, babe, I didn’t mean for it to go this far,” Kel kissed you on the forehead, one of his arms snaking around your waist as the other hugged your head to his chest “im really sorry, I shouldn’t have made that dumb bet with you in the first place I know how you are with horror movies… you don’t have to pay me back that’ll just make me feel worse” his thumb drew circles on the exposed skin of your waist as his legs hunched up under yours, keeping every part of your body touching his in some way.

“It’s okay, Kel… I shouldn’t have made the bet that I would stare at the screen the entire time,” his hand behind your head twirled a piece of hair in between his fingers “it’s not your fault that I’m so goddamn scared of everything” he laughs slightly, moving to be more comfortable as you nuzzle your face further into his chest, your hands gripping onto his grey tank top as you sucked in a big breath, taking in his warm scent of sweet oranges as his arm curled further around your waist, pulling you impossibly closer to him.

He mumbles “goodnight, baby, I love you” he strokes you hair and gives you a kiss on the head as you slowly nod off to sleep, kel’s arms firmly wrapped around you to keep you safe.

Would be scrolling through magicam and sees a video of horror movie recommendations.. he immediately sends the video to you, texting you something like:

" We gotta watch ALL of these... NOW!!! im on my way to ramshackle xoxo! <3 "

he'd bring some of the sweets trey baked + some blankets for the both of you... build a blanket fort or two!

once you guys get all set up for the movie, Cater would act all scared as an excuse to snuggle up next to you.. ^_^;;

" O-M-G.! Prefect...! I'm seriously trembling in fear.. Hold me! I'm sooo scared!!"

"Cater? It hasn't even started?"

He's actually not scared at all, quite unfazed, actually!! He just wants an excuse to get all snuggly with his favourite prefect!..

If you're not a fan of jumpscares or anything, Cater would cover your eyes for you when he feels one coming.. (°_°)

Would accidentally choke on a tart or something because a jumpscare popped up while he was eating it ʅ（◞‿◟）ʃ poor Cater. Make sure to hand him some water....

bought a stack of horror movies from sam's shop for the both of you.. Why? He doesn't know why he just felt like it..

well, better put his thaumarks to good use and watch all of them? (_ _).｡o○

honestly the last person you'd wanna watch horror movies with if you're easily scared... He is NOT gonna spare you're fragile heart.. run while you still can!!

Just kidding he'd never let you run. You already agreed!!

At the most dramatic or eerie parts he'd just yell "BOO!!" to scare you, laughs if you genuinely gets scared.. If you don't like it give him a good death glare and tell him to knock it off ^^;;; might work, might not.. it's a test of luck really!

"Floyd, cut that out or I will seriously kill you!

You guys bicker like siblings.. Started off with you going "Look it's you Floyd!" When an ugly character appeared on the screen.. Now it's an ongoing battle on who can say "It's you!" first when an ugly character pops up.

If he actually gets startled by a scare, He WILL let out the loudest yell ever.. Make sure to cover his mouth when he does this or else you'll face the wrath of Azul!!

The.. somewhat normal option to watch horror movies with!

Would rent out a horror movie to get into the spooky spirit!!! Invites you over and has popcorn and some other snacks prepared!!

Like Cater, Jade Would also feign fear..

"Ah, I'm so afraid! Even my voice is trembling."

"??? You sound normal though?"

"hehee.."

Just don't mind him and hold him .. its the best for the both of you.. ʅ（◞‿◟）ʃ

Would comfort you if you get easily scared! Would pat you on the back if he see's you trembling.. a little reminder that Jade's here to protect you!! ^^

So unfazed by the movie.. It's like he's immune to getting scared. It's really impressive.

He giggles softly at the scariest parts.. You ask him about it and he gives you a smile as an answer... just don't worry about it I suppose?

Haunted House

what's it like in a haunted house with them- Genshin Impact pt. 1

Characters: Hu Tao, Shenhe, Beidou, Ningguang

a/n: this is part of my Halloween event!! you can find it here! I will do my best to update it as i write characters!

Hu Tao

Probably not the best to go to a haunted house with

Hu Tao enjoys going to them! It's the most popular date option during October for the both of you.

Loves dressing up and going to them! She prefers matching costumes too! You've both ghost, zombies, and vampires before!

Scares the scarers back

Has been banned for some haunted houses for being too scary

Her favorite part of the haunted houses is going ahead of you and hiding, waiting for you to approach

And when you get close, she jumps out to give you a scare

"BOO!! Hahaha! You should see the look on your face! You're as pale as a ghost! Hmm? Aw, come on, don't give me that face, you know i was just joking right? Come here for moment."

Gives you as many hugs and kisses as she can because she feels bad about spooking you, only a little bit though!

Shenhe

Doesn't really understand them

She still goes to them, not because she wants to protect or anything, just wants to experience it

Shenhe most definitely doesn't get scared, mostly just confused by some of the decorations or costumes of the scarers

Tries to eat a fake spider

If you get scared and grab onto her, she turns beet red

Doesn't dress up but she might if you beg her too

She'd most likely just wear a witch hat or the devil horn headband

Keeps a hold on you so you don't get lost or wonder off

Somehow, she wonders off herself and now there's people looking for you to come collect your girlfriend

"..." "So how did you- " " I would rather not speak about.."

Overall, Shenhe will protect you and comfort you if you get too scared! Just be a bit careful about showing too much affection, she might over heat!

Beidou

Objectively one of the funniest ones to go to a haunted house with

She'd boast about how you can grab on to her if get scared and the first jumpscare to happen, she'd jump in surprise (totally not scared at all)

Tries to laugh it off and say it was just a fluke

A lot more careful to pay more attention to her surroundings afterwards

I think Beidou would wear a costume to these but like a really funny one. Like a banana costume or something similar

holds on to your waist and holds you close to her so you don't get lost through the haunted house

If she feels you flinch at anything, she tightens her grip just a bit and pulls you into her side a bit

cracks jokes if things are too dense

if it gets too boring, Beidou will start a eye spy game to see how many random decorations you both can find

steals a spider decorations

"So, we might need to run back to ship." "what? why?" " heh, i may have stolen a decoration."

Cue to you both running

atleast you both have a new decoration for the crux

Lifts you up so you can place it up above the captain cabinet door.

Also gives you a very passionate kiss to make up for making you run

Ningguang

absolute queen

takes getting frightened like a champ, and laughs it off with pride and joy

Doesn't dress in a costume but does wear a nice outfit to go with the theme of the evening

Was mostly invite to it as a guest for a fundraiser or something similar

Thoroughly enjoys watching you interact with everything, and smiles gently when you get spooked by something

Ningguang keeps a hand on the small of your back so she can wrap her arm around should the need arise

Might get annoyed if people walking by gawk at the both of you

Might have to schedule a private visit for just the both of you

Enjoys the decorations and the ambience of it all

Afterwards, she definitely takes you out to eat foods that match the season.

"My gem, are you enjoying yourself? I should've tried to schedule a private event for us, i wasn't expecting so many people. "

Afterwards, Ningguang takes you back to the jade chamber for a bit of pampering and quality time together

KNIVES JUMPSCARE

Idk what Hoppered's deal is but his earnestness is very different from the rest of the Gung-Ho Guns... I kinda like him honestly.

Eepy Knives... also I guess we finally hear what Wolfwood's actual mission is.

Hey I uh... feel kind of bad... for Legato... like there was no way he could've known that. It's exactly as Midvalley was saying - humans are insects to him and they are no different. It's just intriguing to me that Legato would ask questions of Knives with his very firm devotion, and that Knives would be dismissive about something that, let's face it, might have been important for Legato to know? You could argue that having Ninelives go after Wolfwood for being a traitor ups his cover, but Wolfwood never really had a "cover" to begin with and isn't that just a waste of a resource? Idk. I don't know what to make of these two. Did Knives used to tell Legato every part of the plan? Is that why he asked? Is Knives still pissed at Legato for trying to kill Vash and this withholding is part of the punishment? Knives also allows Legato to speak directly with him in this way, implying Legato is the highest rank of his "knives" and therefore more valuable (probably due to being very powerful), but then he straight up shattered his spine like it was nothing... I'm so confused by their dynamic, I guess because I'm not seeing the reason for Legato's devotion. I hope this gets some elaboration.

Aaaand back to Vash and Wolfwood. How are they so stupid sometimes... Meryl is so wonderfully petty. Good for her.

...ok first off this is brutal. Secondly, this is now the second time we've been shown the damage being done to Wolfwood's body from inside. It's wonderful from a visual storytelling standpoint but I also... don't like it. Why are we watching him break from the inside.
