My purpose and singular mission in life is to make sure queer and/or neurodivergent kids know that sometimes it really is their parents who are stupid and other adults are on their side. This, unfortunately, does not make me popular with their parents. Gonnae keep doing it though.

Let me preface this: I'm an architecture major
I used to be a big LO fan but obviously fell out of love of it like a lot of us did, and I know LO uses SketchUp for backgrounds. That is not an issue I have with the comic or any comic, I want artists to have an easier time in any way they can. I was always under the impression Rachel imported the models into Photoshop and drew over them like you can see in the early episodes with the sketchy lines. Well, school just started recently for me and I now have access to SketchUp for my coursework, and I made a few discoveries: 1. Photoshop cannot read SketchUp files, and while you can import them into Clip Studio through some configuring, they can be finicky and will lose parts in the importing process, so they are best used into the original SketchUp program to export as PNGs. 2. Many of the models Rachel uses are incredibly easy to find, especially if you put "modern", "luxury", or "classy" before the main part of the search. Many of the houses and rooms for example are first page results. 3. The biggest discovery: You know how we all assumed Rachel was hand-drawing all the lines over the SketchUp models and how she gave up the longer LO went on? Well, it's actually worse. It turns out SketchUp has a thing called "Styles" in it, which means you can mess with the lines and look of the model, such as making it look more like a blueprint or playing with the colors. Well, they have a lot of styles on SketchUp known as "sketchy lines", which are the exact ones Rachel used early in the comic to fit with her style, and it takes a literal click of a button to do. All she would do is pose the model, click the sketchy line style, and export the PNG. That's it. So, yeah, Rachel is so checked out of the comic that she can't even bother to click a single button to make the models fit into the comic's style anymore. Use that information however you like.
Ouhhh sorry OP, I'm about to like, undo all the work you just put into that ask. We've already known about the 3D background problem for a long while now.
First off, it's more likely LO doesn't use SketchUp but actually Acon3D, which is a website that offers 3D models both for free and at cost, which are actually compatible with software like Clip Studio. As soon as you open it up you'll likely see a lot of very familiar backgrounds that are often used in romances, isekais, and period pieces. It's literally the go-to spot for Webtoon Originals creators. Like, to the point that I wouldn't be surprised if Naver was partnered with them because of how many of their creators use it.
Second, there's plenty of up-to-date evidence to support the fact that Rachel doesn't exclusively stick to one software, sometimes she's drawing in Photoshop, sometimes she's drawing in Clip Studio Paint, sometimes she's drawing in Procreate. She's undoubtedly using Clip Studio for her paneling, speech bubbles, and backgrounds, as there are built in tools to utilize and convert 3D materials into lineart, among other features that are recognizable as coming from CSP because they're not available in PS or Procreate.
Third, yes, she just uses filters to turn her backgrounds into lineart, this has been apparent since S1. The only backgrounds she's ever 'hand drawn' were the ones involving lots of nature and even those are mostly just Photoshop brushes stamped on.
Tumblr media
Like I realize I'm probably bursting your bubble here and I apologize for that lmao but these buildings were never hand-drawn, this is not new information ( ̄﹏ ̄;) I appreciate you mentioning your own experiences with it as you're learning it though, I find once you start to learn the process yourself you really start to notice what others are doing. Even I've gone through that over the past couple years as I started to use 3D models and more advanced tools specifically for drawing webtoons.
I will mention btw, there's nothing wrong with using 3D models for your character drawing and backgrounds. The only time it tends to get frustrating is when you're reading a comic that isn't making any attempts to blend the background in with the art style.
Like, The Kiss Bet probably uses 3D models to help with perspective and laying out scenes quickly without second-guessing, but you can tell they still hand-draw over the models because they look natural and like they belong to the comic's stylization. The characters don't look out of place sitting in a living room and the living room doesn't look distracting.
Tumblr media
But then you get stuff like Lore Olympus, Let's Play, and Midnight Poppy Land, and it becomes a bit more obvious they're not giving a shit about backgrounds lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I get it, WT's deadlines are cutthroat as fuck, but if it's getting to the point that you have an entire team behind you and you're literally just copy pasting video game models from Phantom Hourglass, then it's probably time to re-focus your priorities a bit. There are comics with as few as 1-2 assistants (and even in some cases no assistants at all!!) pulling off backgrounds better than this, even when they're taking shortcuts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Nevermore and City of Blank)
But a lot of that does come down to how WT manages its expectations as well as support for their creators. The deadlines and requirements WT puts their creators under are insane and awful in the long-term, and they're not acting with the amount of professionalism they ought to be for a platform that's trying to breakout as a major publisher here in the West. I feel like it comes down to WT loosening the choke chain around their creators, but also creating a standardized level of quality to ensure it's not suffering for the sake of quantity. The traditional literature industry has real editors and stages of quality control for a reason, whereas WT is more interested in just throwing as many series at the wall and dumping all their stock into the ones that stick.

Heeeyy,I would like to please make a request😭🙏First I would like to reveal that I'm not the person who made the robot darling request but I wanted to make one based on that because I have a slight different version of that beautiful request in mind-
Hear me out please,a robot darling who's created specific for Sephiroth to breed with(she has certain artificial organs to make that happen, all for plot purposes XD)....and she has many modifications in her vag for example one of them is that her puss internally vibrate really hard (to milking him I think) or things like that, that can make seph go literally wild
So well, like in the original request Sephiroth was slightly weird with her and he refused to have segs but after spent time he learns that she's more human than many humans that he had know, and he decides to give it a slight try on have intimacy with her (with condom) and he gets completely hooked on her,and the extra pleasure that he can feel thanks to her modification
So that would be all, according to my silly brain this might be something interesting for you to think and write about, I think😅,sorry the text is so big and thank you if you took the time to read up to this point, take your time to think about this and thanks for all you give us in this beautiful account :)
Tumblr media
I'll give this a try.
Pairing: Fluffy Sephiroth/Fembot Darling
Content Warning: NSFW. Body modifications.
Tumblr media
Sitting politely on his bed, you patiently waited for your master Sephiroth to get ready.
Since he had recently expressed a desire to try intimacy with you, your programming enabled you to select the perfect lingerie.
All based on the information you had already known about him, and his preferences stored in your database.
You smiled at him warmly as he came out of the bathroom, shirtless but still wearing his dark pants. You rose, interlocking your delicate hands with his large ones.
Even an android like you saw past his stoic facade. From his nervousness to the faintest trace of a blush on his face, he had a way of showing his true emotions.
"You look stunning as ever, Lord Sephiroth... Are you comfortable to proceed?" You asked.
He nodded his head and passionately kissed you, his hands roaming your synthetic curves.
As you both lowered to the bed, he seemed unsure of what to do or say next.
So you took the opportunity to eagerly show him your capabilities.
"Shall we try the missionary position?" you suggested, spreading your gushing, wet cunt that seemed to call out to him.
His slit eyes dilated at the sight of your welcoming, meaty cunt while his cock strained against his pants.
"Or would you rather I take you in the missionary position?" Your robot clit engorged, transforming into a fully formed cock. You gave it a few teasing strokes, pre-cum oozing from the bulbous head.
You then suggested that both styles were possible and other positions can be tried by you two as well.
Sephiroth suppressed gasp and blushed deeply in response, undoing his belts and freeing his needy, throbbing cock.
"Let's go with the first option for now," he mumbled. You nodded happily, your cock reverting back to its clit form.
He plunged his cock into you, softly moaning while feeling your walls immediately vibrating around him.
Within your head, you heightened the intensity of your vibrating cunt, causing him to pant, veins on his shaft pulsated. It's so lovely to see him become undone...
You tilted your head, gently smiling at him. "I can do more, Lord Sephiroth..."
Swapping to another function, your walls constricted around his cock harder and created a powerful suction, gulping his cock like never before. You wrapped your legs around his waist, keeping him fastened to you.
Sephiroth let out a deep, primal grunt. His nails sunken into your synthetic hips, as your artificial cunt sent him into a frenzy. If he didn't have so much self-control, he would've rearranged your insides by now.
He withdrew from your cunt, slathering your belly and tits with his seed.
You cupped his cheek, somewhat concerned. "Lord Sephiroth? I hope I didn't overstimulate you..." He panted softly into your ear, his body recovering from his first orgasm.
He grabbed your hips again, slamming his cock back into you.
"...I want more." His voice took on a strange, dark tone that you haven't heard before.
For the rest of the night, he pounded away at your cunt, taking no time to stop or catch his breath.
Looks like you won't have much trouble with breeding him when the time comes.

A new realtionship
So here is another tf story. This one contains straigh to gay content, some weight gain and socks tf. If one of this is not to your liking, you should not read it. I hope you enjoy it and can read over all the spelling mistakes.
A new relationship:
There was not a lot going on between the two guys. Or so they thought at least for a long time. Until their relationship was moved to the next level. But let’s start from the top.
They guys in question are Jake and Leo. Leo the nerdy looking scrawny guy who liked to spend his days gaming away, but still taking care of his body. Going for a jog every day and twice the week into the gym to keep his body maintained. Mostly he did cardio but sometimes he even tried to build some muscle. But his biggest quality was his smarts. With a degree in computer science. He love programming and creating his own gamey and challenges to keep his mind fit and working.
Jake on the other hand struggled a lot with his studies. He tried to obtain a degree in the same as Leo, because his parents wanted him to do it. But even from his looks would not think of him as a smart guy. He was more interested in art, sports and more creative things. Sometimes he sat down and began writing poems or texts to keep his mind from all the misery that was around him. His well toned and defined body gave him the look of a stereotypical jock. And this was what people actually saw in him. A dumb guy who did nothing else then working out. But that he did all of this, because he could not keep up with all the expectations from others, no one saw or even cared to see in him.
No one besides Leo. He noticed all the poems and texts Jake forgot to put away sometimes. Even his diary was sometimes lying in the living room. Opened up on the last page, where Jake made his last entry. Even though he knew better, Leo began reading through all the pages. And that was when he learned something about Jake. He loved men. Often Jake was asked why he was still single. With his looks he should be able to get all the ladies. Jake laughed it off, mostly and responded that he did not found the right girl. So this was not a lie. He did in fact not found the right girl, which happens to be a guy. Leo wondered why Jake never talked about it. Was he too scared? For a few months Leo ignored all the facts and did not talk to Jake about it, building up courage to get into this topic with him. But even after all these months he did not come up with something good. Then one night, he had an idea. He created an online survey just for Jake. He would have to enter different answers which would help Leo to get to know him better and maybe get him to a point where he got all information he needed. He got to work and a few hours later he was ready.
The next day he gave Jake the link and made up a friend that was in need of help with a social survey that she needed for her studies. All his answers would be handled confidential and all the stuff. Sceptical at first, Jake agreed to it and took some time to fill out the survey. He was a little bit surprised on what this friend was working actually. It looked more like a survey for an online dating platform. Asking for his orientations, what a partner would need to bring into a relationship. Even a whole bunch of free text to talk about his kinks. Not knowing any better and thinking that Leo would never make him do anything that would embarrass him, he filled it all out with the honest truth. He shot Leo a message, informing him that he had filled out everything that was asked of him. Leo thanked him and began browsing through all the answers.
“All right let’s see”, Leo said to himself and began scrolling.
He was shocked when he saw that Jake had filled everything out. Even the whole section about his kinks. The first answers were nothing interesting. Jake just confirmed that he was gay. Looking for a guy that would be honest with him and stuff like this. Nothing out of the ordinary. But then came a few things that Leo was surprised to see. Jake mentioned that he had a guy he had feelings for and the description was fitting on Leo. Impossible for Leo to believe that Jake would consider having feelings for him he kept looking deeper. And there was a part in the kink section that took him completely off guard. Jake was writing about loving to have a guy taking care of his socked feet. Living to serve him and having no other place then on the ground at his feet. The other kink was more about being not the athlete he was right now. He wanted to be lazier and fatter. And a partner should respect and even encourage that. Leo had read through all this and was stunned by the answers. When he created it, he thought that Jake would never be so open with this.
“So, are you satisfied with my answers?” Jake asked and Leo spun around.
His friend was standing in the doorway to his room. His arms crossed in front of his breast looking at him. Leo noticed no hostile look in Jakes eyes. Was he mad?
“I just wanted to make sure everything is in order” he said and Jake laughed.
“That is one way to put it.”
“What do you mean?”
“What I mean is, that I thought for no second this was for someone else then you. I knew you were reading my diary. Even if you tried to put it in the same place as it was before, I could tell it was moved. And guess what? I left it there to see if you would be curios. So can we drop the act now and talk about, what you want to talk about?”
Leo was completely overwhelmed with the situation. Jake had known all along that Leo was spying on him?
“But if you knew, why did you not tell me to stop?”
“Why should I? I mean the boy I have the hots for is reading through my diary, going to extends to create a survey to get to know me better. I would call this a success on the whole line. But now I want to know something. Why? Why did you go through all the trouble?”
Leo sighed and stood up.
“I knew you were not who you showed the world. And I wanted to know why. Why did you not show the real Jake to the world? Right now I am seeing a talented man in front of me, struggling with his studies, living in the closet all his life. I just want to know why.”
Jake smiled coming closer to his friend.
“So you want to know the reasons? This might take some time. Let’s sit down.”
He pointed at Leo’s bed and both sat down. Jake began to talk about his parents. The daily struggles with all the people around him that might turn their backs on him if he would come out. And all the other stuff that was on his mind. It was like a weight was lifted on him after he finished. Leo listened through all of it and taking it all in.
“That is a lot going on in your mind” Leo said and Jake nodded.
“Yeah. The daily struggle of your jock roommate.”
“I can totally understand how you feel. But I got another question. Do you really have a crush on me?”
Jake sighed and looked Leo right in the eyes.
“I did not lie in the survey. So yes, I have feelings for you” he said with a kind of heavy tone in his voice.
Leo did not know how to respond. He was not gay. Never even thought about a relationship with another man. Let alone his roommate.
“I did not expect this” Leo said and smiled.
“I guess no one would. So now you know it. You know a lot of my secrets now and I hope they are being kept secret. Can I count on that?”
“Totally. I just had no idea how to approach you. Therefor all the nonsense with the survey.”
“I trust you, Leo. If you are not keeping your word, trust me, it will get ugly.”
With that Jake left the room, not without giving his roommate another smile. Leo was left behind trying to get all the things together in his head. The time went on and the next night, Jake was browsing through the internet for some sweet release. His usual sites did not show him something new. But one ad caught his attention this night.
“Live out your kinks to the fullest. Just make a wish and it will happen.” Stated the app.
What bullshit, thought Jake but clicked on it anyway. His screen turned dark for a few seconds before there was single text field with one single question. What do you desire? Not taking this seriously Jake began entering his desires. After he was finished he pressed Enter and then a bright light hit him.
“Your desire will be fulfilled”, whispered a voice inside his head.
“Weird. But hey nothing will happen anyway.”
With that he decided to go to sleep. The next morning he woke up and looked around his room. Nothing seemed to have changed. He got up and went into the kitchen. He opened the fridge and was surprised to find everything was filled to the brim with sweets. Confused he searched for something healthier but could not find it.
“Hi there, my gay roommate”, Leo said and approached him.
“Morning, Leo. What is up with the fridge?” he asked and Leo took a look.
“What about it? Filled with all the things you like. Like normal.”
With that Leo turned to him and gave him a big kiss on the mouth. Surprised Jake wanted to fight it at first, but decided that this had to be a dream. This could never be real. After Leo broke the kiss he looked at him seductively.
“What has gotten into you?” Jake asked and Leo laughed.
“I had no idea that you had feelings for me, and last night I discovered I have some feelings for you, too. So I decided to take it to the next level. What do you say, we go to your room and have some fun.”
“No thanks, not this early in the morning”, Jake said and Leo nodded.
“As you wish. Well then, see you later.”
With that Leo went back to his room and Jake was still dumb fold with what happened. But still he decided to go on with his day. He went to the gym and began to work out. He met one of his friends Tyler. Another jock who did nothing else then working out all week. When they were finished with their workout Jake took a shower. And when he came back, his workout socks were not where he left them. In fact they were not there at all. Thinking he might have put them already away he went home. He forgot about the things that happened at the gym. Back at home he was alone. Leo was in his room gaming. So he grabbed some snacks went to his room and then straight to bed. So the next days went on, with the same routine. After a week he began to notice that Leo’s scrawny body was taking a toll with all the sweet overload that was hitting him. His belly began to grow. The pudge was very noticeable. When Jake asked about it, Leo just stated that he was enjoying it and loved the way he was feeling now. Jakes own belly had taken on some of the weight as well. But due to his workout sessions it was slower. But since he started more and more socks went missing after the workout. And then there was a day, when Tyler wanted to visit him. He arrived at the flat and they went to Jakes room.
“So you wanted to talk about something, Tyler?” he asked and Tyler was nodding.
Jake noticed that Tyler was not able to take his eyes of Jakes feet.
“I have a confession to make” Tyler said and grabbed something from his backpack.
When he pulled it out, Jake finally knew where his socks went. They were all in Tyler’s backpack.
“Oh so there are all my socks”, he said and Tyler nodded.
“I could not explain why, but for the last weeks I was totally drawn to your feet, Jake. After every workout I took your socks, taking them home, taking in all your scent. I love it, Jake. I totally love it. There is nothing I like more than your manly scent. Please let me be your foot slave. Let me live for your feet.”
Jake was taken aback. He never imagined one of his friends would share this kink with him.
“Tyler, are you okay? Did you hit your head or something?”
“No, Jake. I am completely honest with you. May I show you that I am honest?”
Jake nodded and Tyler went over to him. He took on of Jakes feet and began rubbing it over his face. Over and over again. Taking in all the sweat and what else was on Jakes feet. Tyler buried his nose in them and began licking them, when suddenly Leo came into the room.
“Oh sorry I did not know you had a guest.”
Tyler looked at Leo and the same lust as for Jake could be seen in his eyes.
“No problem. Come here, little boy. I want to have you, too”, he said and Leo went over to them.
He sat next to Jake and Tyler began to play with his feet as well.
“He is talented” Leo said and Jake just looked at him.
This whole situation was totally crazy. His workout buddy was playing slave at his and Leo’s feet, while Leo was sitting there being completely cool with it.
“What has gotten into you?”
Jake asked and both guys looked at him.
“What do you mean?” Leo asked.
“Just a few weeks ago none of you knew I was into this stuff and now you act like it was the most normal thing in the world. Heck Tyler you even want to be my slave. Why not be our socks? Then you could be at our feet all day, while we are stuffing our faces with food.”
“Oh that would be lovely”, Tyler said and Jake lost it completely.
Before he could say something he noticed something with Tyler’s hands. While he was holding both of their feet, the fabric of the socks was starting to spread over his body. Confused Jake watched and saw how his friend was more and more engulfed in the fabric of his and Leo’s socks. Tyler moaned during the whole procedure from his view he was experiencing something satisfying. He was hard as a rock.
When it started Tyler was noticing nothing then a slight tingling at his hands. Like they would have fallen asleep. That was when he noticed the fabric that was spreading with the sensation. Everything seemed to go numb after it was taken over by fabric. More and more of his body was engulfed and he loved every second. His clothes were also trapped under the socks fabric. One half of his body was overtaken by Leo’s socks and the other by Jake’s. He loved every second of it. Even when the fabric spread over his penis, it was the most pleasurable feeling he had in all his live. Now the only thing left was his face. The fabric wasted no time beginning to eat up his head. First from the bottom of his head until his mouth. His tongue turned into a sock and he had the taste of both boys in his mouth. And this would be like this for the rest of his live. The thought alone made him even harder. Then his nose got covered and the scent of them both was now in his nose, no it was on all of his body. With that the fabric decided to take up the rest of him, covering up everything.
“Oh yes” was the last thing that Tyler could say.
He came with the biggest orgasm he had in all of his live before was reduced to Jake’s and Leo’s socks. He fell to the ground and Jake blinked twice.
“Wonderful.”
Leo said and got up. He picked up the two pairs of socks.
“Guess he chose his own fate. It was so nice of you, that you granted his wish”, he said and smiled.
Slowly he began to strip off Jake’s socks and put Tyler on him. He was an exact copy of the white Nike socks, Jake had been wearing. Even though the logo was changed out for Tyler’s head. A sight of bliss was seen on his face. Leo’s socks showed the same. But he had been wearing grey Puma socks. He wanted to put the socks on himself, when Jake stopped him.
“Let me do it” he said and Leo nodded.
So Jake got up, moved Leo to his bed and sat him down. Slowly he began to put Tyler on him and looked at the result. He began to rub Leo’s feet, when he stopped him.
“Oh no, darling. No touching there. I am ticklish. But I can do it for you.”
Jake just nodded succumbing to the effects of the strange website that he had shared his kinks with. The weeks went by and both boys moved to one room. They needed to get a bigger bed since they grew too big for the old one. Their workouts were getting less and less until they rarely left the house. None of them noticed that the fridge never was empty. It was filled up every night. Tyler was adjusting well to his new position at their feet. Tough he was rarely taken off and washed. But all the boys were happy as it was. Jake and Leo were together and gave no second thought about their old lives.
“Another happy costumer”, showed a message on Jake’s computer.

some more silly rogues’ headcannons I thought of! Thank you everyone for the validation on the last ones, it made me smile! :D
[part 1] [part 2] [part 3] [part 4] [part 5] [part 6]
- they all have a Minecraft server together that's utter madness! Riddler has perfected redstone and he makes puzzle riddle traps in game, it drives Joker INSANE. Ivy goes around planting giant trees and flowers without asking. And Bane has a nice little house and no one dares ruin it, it brings him so much joy.
- Scarecrow always has chapstick on him, it's mango flavored
- Riddler has a tamagotchi, he will cry if it dies. If you're the goon that has to watch it while he's in Arkham, be scared.
- Harvey still posts on his Twitter, Twoface has an invite only after dark account. He just reposts memes everyone else has already seen and overshares random personal information and middle school level poetry. Also Harvey & Twoface are currently in a four year long tweet war about an episode of Law and order
- Out of all the rogues, Joker owns the most shoes. He has a storage unit full of racks of different tailored costumes, shoes, and makeup. He wears an expensive french brand of makeup he has to ship to Gotham, and he doesn't do any crimes without wearing his lucky lipstick brand
- Scarecrow loves animal crossing, his island is decked out and Halloween themed. He hosts parties with the rogues on his island
- Riddler set up a VPN & free cable/wifi for all the rogues to use so they can stream whatever, but you have to answer a riddle to get the password. Joker hates it but he also needs to watch the new criminal minds reboot before Harley spoils it
- one time during a party, the rogues managed to convince a very drunk Harvey & Twoface to sing/reinact songs from phantom of the opera and later jekyll and hyde (Twoface is emotionally a theater kid)
- Harley and Twoface get really into murder podcasts together one time while in Arkham. Even after they all break out, they video call after new episodes drop to talk about it. One time they tried to do a podcast but it turned out Joker did the crime so like it wasn't much of a plot twist
- Harley streams her crimes sometimes & actually makes some sick side cash off it! Half the time her chat is just obsessing over her interactions with Ivy. Also Ivy is one of her top donors
- Catwoman is TikTok famous, she posts story times, how to do simple parkour and pick locks, and hauls from crimes. All of her money from sponsorships and stuff goes to charity (she gets sent a bunch of free cat food for her cats, it's awesome!)
- Joker scrapbooks, he did it for a gag originally but low key got into it and now he may or may not have a scrapbooking room. He tries to go to Michael’s incognito but like, everyone knows.. The employees are like “yo, the Joker is at the help desk asking about if we have batman scrapbooking decals? Do.. Do I ask if he wants to sign up for the rewards program? Is he allowed to sign up?” Yes he signed up for the rewards program
- Joker also often signs up for various rewards programs but when he doesn’t want their emails, he gives them scarecrow’s email. Scarecrow has a bounty for whoever stops the man signing up ALL his emails for the Chilies newsletter
- the rogues throw Harley a roller skating lasertag party, where they also learn Harvey can't skate to save his life. He's the dedicated party mom that's standing at the railing about to fall down while he cheers on the others doing tricks and he's in charge of everyone's coat at the table. Joker uses all of his tickets to buy bouncy balls and sticky hands. Catwoman is a god at laser tag, she nearly gave Scarecrow a heart attack when she dropped form the vents to snip him. At the end of the party, they all steal Harley the go kart that's worth like 10,000 tickets. Batman shows up to Harley doing donuts in the parking lot while all the other villains are fighting with sticky hands and bouncy balls
- Bane likes camping and takes all the rogues in hopes to get camping buddies, they all almost die out in the woods because it's a disaster but also he had a great time! The Joker brings a camera and the whole time is making dated Blair Witch jokes with Scarecrow, which Harvey doesn't find funny and not because he's scared of the Blair witch.. Riddler screams running off into the woods because of a bee "chasing" him, no one sees him until three weeks later when they remember that they forgot him in the woods. Clayface uses a survivalist persona/character the whole time they're out there but he knows nothing about survivalism, eating poisonous berries and telling them poison ivy is a healing herb. Ivy is probably the only one suited for camping and she has to make sure most of them don't die
- Harley collects pins! She has a pin board in her hideout. The other rogues give her pins they find/obtain around Gotham
- The Joker has spent 3 years trying to perfect confetti smoke bombs

Dealing with the limitations of our noisy world
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tamara Broderick first set foot on MIT’s campus when she was a high school student, as a participant in the inaugural Women’s Technology Program. The monthlong summer academic experience gives young women a hands-on introduction to engineering and computer science.
What is the probability that she would return to MIT years later, this time as a faculty member?
That’s a question Broderick could probably answer quantitatively using Bayesian inference, a statistical approach to probability that tries to quantify uncertainty by continuously updating one’s assumptions as new data are obtained.
In her lab at MIT, the newly tenured associate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) uses Bayesian inference to quantify uncertainty and measure the robustness of data analysis techniques.
“I’ve always been really interested in understanding not just ‘What do we know from data analysis,’ but ‘How well do we know it?’” says Broderick, who is also a member of the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems and the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society. “The reality is that we live in a noisy world, and we can’t always get exactly the data that we want. How do we learn from data but at the same time recognize that there are limitations and deal appropriately with them?”
Broadly, her focus is on helping people understand the confines of the statistical tools available to them and, sometimes, working with them to craft better tools for a particular situation.
For instance, her group recently collaborated with oceanographers to develop a machine-learning model that can make more accurate predictions about ocean currents. In another project, she and others worked with degenerative disease specialists on a tool that helps severely motor-impaired individuals utilize a computer’s graphical user interface by manipulating a single switch.
A common thread woven through her work is an emphasis on collaboration.
“Working in data analysis, you get to hang out in everybody’s backyard, so to speak. You really can’t get bored because you can always be learning about some other field and thinking about how we can apply machine learning there,” she says.
Hanging out in many academic “backyards” is especially appealing to Broderick, who struggled even from a young age to narrow down her interests.
A math mindset
Growing up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, Broderick had an interest in math for as long as she can remember. She recalls being fascinated by the idea of what would happen if you kept adding a number to itself, starting with 1+1=2 and then 2+2=4.
“I was maybe 5 years old, so I didn’t know what ‘powers of two’ were or anything like that. I was just really into math,” she says.
Her father recognized her interest in the subject and enrolled her in a Johns Hopkins program called the Center for Talented Youth, which gave Broderick the opportunity to take three-week summer classes on a range of subjects, from astronomy to number theory to computer science.
Later, in high school, she conducted astrophysics research with a postdoc at Case Western University. In the summer of 2002, she spent four weeks at MIT as a member of the first class of the Women’s Technology Program.
She especially enjoyed the freedom offered by the program, and its focus on using intuition and ingenuity to achieve high-level goals. For instance, the cohort was tasked with building a device with LEGOs that they could use to biopsy a grape suspended in Jell-O.
The program showed her how much creativity is involved in engineering and computer science, and piqued her interest in pursuing an academic career.
“But when I got into college at Princeton, I could not decide — math, physics, computer science — they all seemed super-cool. I wanted to do all of it,” she says.
She settled on pursuing an undergraduate math degree but took all the physics and computer science courses she could cram into her schedule.
Digging into data analysis
After receiving a Marshall Scholarship, Broderick spent two years at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom, earning a master of advanced study in mathematics and a master of philosophy in physics.
In the UK, she took a number of statistics and data analysis classes, including her first class on Bayesian data analysis in the field of machine learning.
It was a transformative experience, she recalls.
“During my time in the U.K., I realized that I really like solving real-world problems that matter to people, and Bayesian inference was being used in some of the most important problems out there,” she says.
Back in the U.S., Broderick headed to the University of California at Berkeley, where she joined the lab of Professor Michael I. Jordan as a grad student. She earned a PhD in statistics with a focus on Bayesian data analysis.
She decided to pursue a career in academia and was drawn to MIT by the collaborative nature of the EECS department and by how passionate and friendly her would-be colleagues were.
Her first impressions panned out, and Broderick says she has found a community at MIT that helps her be creative and explore hard, impactful problems with wide-ranging applications.
“I’ve been lucky to work with a really amazing set of students and postdocs in my lab — brilliant and hard-working people whose hearts are in the right place,” she says.
One of her team’s recent projects involves a collaboration with an economist who studies the use of microcredit, or the lending of small amounts of money at very low interest rates, in impoverished areas.
The goal of microcredit programs is to raise people out of poverty. Economists run randomized control trials of villages in a region that receive or don’t receive microcredit. They want to generalize the study results, predicting the expected outcome if one applies microcredit to other villages outside of their study.
But Broderick and her collaborators have found that results of some microcredit studies can be very brittle. Removing one or a few data points from the dataset can completely change the results. One issue is that researchers often use empirical averages, where a few very high or low data points can skew the results.
Using machine learning, she and her collaborators developed a method that can determine how many data points must be dropped to change the substantive conclusion of the study. With their tool, a scientist can see how brittle the results are.
“Sometimes dropping a very small fraction of data can change the major results of a data analysis, and then we might worry how far those conclusions generalize to new scenarios. Are there ways we can flag that for people? That is what we are getting at with this work,” she explains.
At the same time, she is continuing to collaborate with researchers in a range of fields, such as genetics, to understand the pros and cons of different machine-learning techniques and other data analysis tools.
Happy trails
Exploration is what drives Broderick as a researcher, and it also fuels one of her passions outside the lab. She and her husband enjoy collecting patches they earn by hiking all the trails in a park or trail system.
“I think my hobby really combines my interests of being outdoors and spreadsheets,” she says. “With these hiking patches, you have to explore everything and then you see areas you wouldn’t normally see. It is adventurous, in that way.”
They’ve discovered some amazing hikes they would never have known about, but also embarked on more than a few “total disaster hikes,” she says. But each hike, whether a hidden gem or an overgrown mess, offers its own rewards.
And just like in her research, curiosity, open-mindedness, and a passion for problem-solving have never led her astray.

In gearing up for a career change, I've been considering what my passions are and I've been a little stuck. It's an odd thing to go back and think about at my age...not that we don't change a ton between 20 and 43, we absolutely do and that's a good thing, but to really sit and take a good look at what moves you is typically a thing that younger people do before they start their careers and to a degree their minds and attitudes are better suited for self reflection and exploration.
When I was a teenager ten thousand years ago, my father decided we were going to build houses with Habitat for Humanity. He liked building stuff, I also liked it, people needed houses...simple. It was about a year into that when a guy we worked with asked me if I wanted to come work with him in his shop building cabinets and furniture. People were ordering things for Christmas, it was just him and one other guy, they needed help. So I went and worked with him, he taught me a lot, and it was hard but very fun so I'm 17 and have decided this is what I want to do.
I tell my father and he's confused. A carpenter? Really? No, no...you have to go to college. He didn't come all this way for his son to do manual labor.
I remember asking him "so it's good enough for Jesus but I can't do it?" which he was silent about for a while. No good reason, it's just not what he envisioned for me and eventually I gave up. Went to college, had a variety of jobs that were fine until I ended up here in the job I have now. I've sold cars, I put my own schooling on hold for some years to put my ex wife through school when her parents cut her off, doing the highest paying thing I could do with my skillset (talking) and an unfinished degree...being shipped around the country selling software. I can't even tell you what that was like, it was so mentally taxing and I was just always going.
But I did learn something incredibly valuable, which leads me to my really drawn out point. Frequently there were language and access barriers that prevented me from being able to close deals. You can't sell English language only software (of which there are almost none now but this was long time ago) to schools with strong ESL programs. They need a Spanish option...huge roadblock in southern California, the southwest, and south Texas. We had very little for special needs schools.
There were always handouts but frequently there were no actual people or departments that dealt with the care and management of special needs students. A secretary would hand me something and then disappear. I would never get a feel of what their needs were and if I ever asked they couldn't tell me.
When I came to work at my branch, that still bothered me. What bothered me even more is that I was coming up against the same problem. We had no audiobooks, no books in braille, no bilingual staff, only English language books, no one knew sign language but me. A library should be a place where anyone can go to get the information and enrichment that they need to learn and thrive. It's better now, but lack of funding has always been an issue and we never have been able to get to where I'd like us to be.
I'm 43 years old and realizing that my real passion is accessibility. Ease of use. Making what is difficult less so in whatever way possible. There are so many apps and programs now that hit that mark, but in talking to people who would know I've found out that the human element is lacking. For better or worse we are social creatures and sometimes you just want another person there to guide you.
I will formally resign my position soon, when I can set some things in motion to ensure that my assistant, Angela, will be asked to take over for me. I love my branch, I believe in it, and she's the only one I know who loves it like I do and will make it stronger. We're the only two who know, she's asked me if I'll still do storytime and I'm just delighted that she'd keep me for such an important job.
This is going to be a big year.

One Step at a Time pt. 1
The sequel to @tuttifuckinfruttifriday‘s heartfelt story “Not Your Fault”
MJ was being released from Psychosocial Camp, thanks to Eric. But she’s not completely free just yet. Eric insisted that MJ spends a couple of weeks at his place, since he has a spare room that he can let her stay in. MJ was alright with the idea, even though she misses her family very much. On the side-note, she wanted to give Eric a hand anyway, since he’s just adapting to everything around him in his own home.
It was nighttime and already MJ is sleeping soundly. But in the middle of the night, she woke up with a jolt as she had a nightmare. MJ got out of bed to get a glass of water, until she saw Eric sitting on the couch, since he too had a bad dream. She didn’t want Eric to know that she woke up from a nightmare, since she’s afraid that she might have to be sent back to the camp again; Why she didn’t want to go back will be explained later in the story. “Oh, hi MJ... Did I wake you?” Eric asked. “Uh... No... I’m just... Getting a drink of water...” MJ said in a shaky tone. “You just had a nightmare, didn’t you? I’ve heard you crying in your sleep; I didn’t want to wake you, so I decided to just get a drink and watch my program on late-night.” Eric explained. “Sorry... I sometimes get those same dreams about what happened back there in Ambrose. I know you said it’s not my fault, but I couldn’t help but dreamt about that day.” MJ explained, almost tearing up.
Eric made a sad and worried expression as he understands what she’s been through. “MJ... Come here...” Eric escorted MJ to sit next to him so they can have a talk. “I too get nightmares about our traumatic event; like the time I thought you were killed by that hockey-masked killer, and how he almost killed me. I get nightmares about that day, non-stop.” Eric explained. “Yeah? How did you get over it?” MJ asked in curiosity. “I’m afraid these dreams keep on coming, but not all the time; you will be having these nightmares from time to time, but not often.” Eric explained. MJ stared at the floor, not liking the answer.
Eric laid a hand on her shoulder to make her look at him. “You know something? the more you dream about it, the stronger you become; sooner or later, you’ll find that the trip we had was nothing but water under a bridge. The best way to start, is to learn to accept what happened and be thankful for the future that you’ll be having. That worked for me after I have found you alive after all these years.” Eric said with a smile. MJ smiled back; Eric is making some great points, even she’s starting to find her nightmares as nothing to her. “That actually helps... Thanks...” MJ said in a calm tired tone. “Pleasant dreams, MJ.” Eric said. “You too, Eric... Goodnight.” MJ said before she goes back to bed.
***
Before all that, Malon received a call from the man of the Psychosocial Camp. “May I speak with your parent or guardian about your mother?” The doctor asked; since Malon is only a child, he wanted to speak to the adult figure. “My dad can listen, but he’s a mute, so he can’t respond back.” Malon informed. “That’s okay, we just wanted to inform him about his wife.” The doctor replied. Malon understood and gave the phone to her dad. “He said you don’t have to say anything, he just wanted to tell you something about mommy.” Malon explained. Jason took the phone to listen to what the doctor needs to say. “MJ was being released from the camp early, due to her positive and healthy behavior. I thought maybe you’d like to hear that.” Jason almost cried with happy tears that he could lift up his daughter and swing her around. However, now is not the time. “Unfortunately though, she was being picked up by her friend Eric Manson, which was recommended, due to the fact that MJ needed to take things slow before living her normal life again. That is all.” Jason nearly dropped the phone after hearing all that.
Malon saw her daddy becoming sad, so she gave him a hug. “It’s okay daddy, we can make it work.” Malon said in between hugs. Jason looked down at Malon and smiled fondly, he picked up his daughter and carried her to the kitchen for a snack. While Malon eats, he wrote a note about where her mom is and why she’s at Eric’s place. “At least we can trust Eric with mommy, after-all, they’re like best friends, and he’s very supportive.” Malon said. Jason nodded to Malon’s statement and had to admit, that what Malon believed was 100% true. Which is good, since he’s starting to accept Eric more and more; now that he became a parent to Lily, he didn’t want to do anything that could scar her for life. So Jason thought of just visit Eric and see if MJ wanted to see him and Malon.
***
It was 10:00am in the morning and MJ is still sleeping, Eric would simply understand that she’s still tired, since that long drive and when she woke up in the middle of the night with a nightmare, so he’s letting her sleep in until at least 10:30. As Eric and Lily were going to have breakfast, they heard a knock on the door. “I’ll be right back, Lily. You eat your breakfast.” Eric said as he walked over to the door.
When Eric opened the door, he saw that it was Jason with Malon being nowhere to be seen. “Hey Jason, is it just you that came over?” Eric asked. “No... I’m here too.” Malon said as she came from behind her dad. “We just wanted to see mommy.” Malon explained. Eric could have figured that Malon and Jason would want to see MJ after being separated for two and-a-half weeks, but he knew that MJ needed to take a few steps before seeing her family all at once. “I know you both missed MJ, and I get it. But her doctor advised me to make her take small steps...” Eric expressed.
Jason nearly made a tear come out of his eye, but is willing to hold it back. However, it doesn’t mean that he’ll lay low, so he tried to walk in. “Jason WAIT...” Eric tried to shield him. “Dad, NO... STOP.” Malon yelled. Jason paused after hearing his daughter talk back at him. “Listen to Eric, he may be on to something... Please dad?” Malon begged. Jason quenched his fist and made his knuckles cracked, until he turned around and walked back outside. “Thank you Jason. I’ll have a word with MJ when she wakes up, then I’ll come by to your place and explain the steps to you two.” Eric said. Jason patted Eric’s back as he understands and that he accepts his request. Still, he really wished he could see her again, just so he can feel MJ in his embrace while showering her with affections, but he can’t have that at the moment, which nearly killed him mentally.
Malon took her dad’s hand while massaging his hand with her thumb. “Come on, dad, let’s go back to the lake.” Malon said in a calm and understanding tone. Jason smiled down at Malon for being so mature; she even sounded like MJ. So they walked home quietly to enjoy the day until Eric comes by later that day.
After Jason and Malon left, Eric heard MJ coming out of her room. “Eric, who was that? I thought I heard Malon’s voice and Jason’s heavy footsteps.” MJ asked and said. “Yeah, Jason and Malon wanted to see you, but I turn them down gently, so they left. We have to go through the steps first.” Eric explained. MJ looked down to the floor sadly, along with a sigh. “Okay...” MJ said before she walked over to the kitchen to make herself breakfast. Eric can see that MJ was disappointed, but he knew that putting her in isolation for a while was the only option, if she didn’t want to go back to the camp again.
Eric placed a hand on MJ’s hand on the kitchen table before he spoke. “Hey, we’ll have this sorted; you will get to see your family again, I promise. You just have to have faith and be cooperative.” Eric said in a calming gesture. MJ smiled up and nodded slowly, it’s not like she’s going to be apart from her family forever, it shouldn’t be a problem.
***
Later that afternoon, Eric went over to visit Jason and Malon for a brief meeting, while MJ stays behind to watch over Lily; and make some tasty treats for later. After Jason lets Eric in, he guided him to the living room where Malon was coloring in her coloring book. “Hi Eric.” Malon said with glee. “Hey Mal, why not you come up with me and your dad so we can have a brief conversation about your mom.” Eric said with a friendly gesture.
Eric was explaining about the steps that MJ needed to take before she can live her normal life with the Voorhees again, without being so intimidated. “So when can I and dad see my mom?” Malon asked. “Actually Malon, what I’m going to do is set up a three-day hang out next week, where only one of you can hang out with MJ, for now.” Eric answered, before explaining what he meant. “You see, next week, I’ll have you spend the day with your mom for three days, with the final day on spending the night with her.” Eric said. Malon smiled big with glee, until she remembered her dad; who really missed MJ the most. “But what about daddy?” Malon asked. “Well, starting a week after, Jason can spend the day with MJ for three days, along with an overnight stay on the final day. I thought maybe while your dad and mom were alone, I can take you and Lily to ‘Pizza Castle’ for a pizza; it’s got a play-place like McDonalds has, only bigger and more fun.” Eric answered.
Malon may like the idea, but it means that Jason will have to wait until like two weeks before he could have MJ in his arms again. Malon noticed that her daddy is sad. “Why not let daddy see mommy first? and I’ll wait until the week after before I can see mom.” Malon thought. Eric was going to answer until Jason made a gesture with a fond smile that he wanted her to see her mom first, since he knew from the first week of MJ’s absence and his style of childcare, she misses her mom the most, so he’s accepting Eric’s ways of taking it slow. Even he had to admit that he can be a bit intimidating if he were to go first.
***
After explaining to Malon and Jason about the steps MJ needed to take, he walked back to his place to see MJ and Lily. As he entered into his house, he smelled a delicious pastry, it smells like shortbread cookies. “Hi dad! Me and MJ made cookies.” Lily said. MJ giggled. “Well, I have to say, Lily did a remarkable job on her first time, even I couldn’t do a much better job than she could.” MJ said while patting her back. Eric laughed before he entered the kitchen to try his step-daughter’s first batch of cookies. “Mmm, you’re right MJ, Lily is a born baker.” Eric complimented. “But I didn’t put them in the oven or take them out.” Lily admits. “That’s okay, you’re still a little young to handle a hot oven, but you did most of the measurements and adding the ingredients; it’s still a good start.” MJ explained. “It’s how I was taught when I was your age... I do missed baking with my mom.” MJ said with a happy sigh... Then she took a bite out of her cookie. Everyone laughed before they enjoy the cookies.
When nighttime loomed, MJ was squirming in her sleep; only this time, she wasn’t having a nightmare. MJ has been thinking about Jason, she missed him very much. In her dream, she and Jason where snuggling together like as if they can never departure. Just as they were about to kiss, MJ woke up, realizing that she’s been making out with her pillow. MJ then sat up and pasted her hands onto her face, as she tears up for her family back at home.
MJ wasn’t the only one with trouble sleeping, Jason too has been suffering. He was worried that MJ would never come back; as they were cuddling, she was being forced to be drifted away. Jason woke up with a gasp and turned on his side lamp. When Jason turned towards MJ’s side of the bed, it was completely empty. He was going to cry until he heard Malon knocking before coming in. “Daddy... I had a bad dream...” Malon said while rubbing her eye with one hand and her teddy in her other arm. Jason nodded and gestured her to come sleep next to him.
After Malon climbed into her mom’s side of the bed, she spoke to her dad before falling asleep. “I missed mommy... That’s why I had the nightmare... About mom not coming back.” Malon admits. Jason rubbed Malon’s cheek and gently kissed her by the forehead before letting sleep consume her. Once Jason turned out the light, he laid onto his back, facing the ceiling feeling mindless. He loves Malon; especially when she sleeps adorably right next to him, it’s not having his wife in his arms is what kept him restless.

Nice. (+ Self Reflection)
Well, so far at least 5 of you have looked at that thing, which is about 3 more than I expected, so the fic is doing much better than I thought it would, so thanks for taking the time to check it out \(^o^)/
But it is in my nature to not shut the hell up about my inner thoughts, so here they are (warning, contains spoilers to "Heart and Soul"):
The main idea of getting separated from your parent on an elevator is based on something I saw in real life once, except it was an escalator and probably didn't involve robo-security. I always wondered what happened to those kids afterwards...
I really should have cut more out. I feel like there's just a little too much "nothing" happening.
Is calling Tatiana, "Miss Quartz" annoying? The idea with the narration early on is that while it's a third-person narrator, it's still mostly from Yinu's point of view, so her inner thoughts inform the narration more often than not. I dunno, it's kind of inconsistent, and I'll probably stick to something more traditional if I ever rewrite this.
I feel like I accidentally set up the hairbands to be more important than they actually were. They were just supposed to be the cause of the inciting incident, just something to get Yinu to the elevator, but since the front end is the most heavy with description, it put too much emphasis on them. There was one version of the draft where instead of the bandage, one of the bands was her token of appreciation, but it didn't make sense to me to give 1010 a wearable keepsake when his physical body is routinely destroyed, and it would have been lost over time. Having him just lose the memories should have been sad enough on its own. He doesn't need to lose what she gave him too.
I hope that I fixed most of the instances of 1010 being referred to as "it". He's supposed to be an "it" up until he has a proper name, but in an earlier version, the pronoun would change depending on who was focusing on him, so Yinu and Neon J. use "he/him" because they recognize him as a person while Mama and Tatiana use "it" because they don't. I thought it was confusing, so I tried to fix all of them, but there might be some remnants left over. OTL
I feel like I could have cut all this action if I'd just thought to set this during a power outage instead of having 1010 be willingly defiant. I didn't think about this until I was taking a shower after posting. Sometimes shower thoughts are useful. If I ever rewrite this fic, I'll try that out to see if I can keep it saccharine through the entire run. I didn't mean to play "Gotcha!" and make it sad out of nowhere, but that's just where it felt like it was going. If they were both lost due to a power outage, then I think them sticking together and not being able to find the adults is a little more justified.
I should have checked if "Heart and Soul" is actually in the public domain first. I don't think it is, so it doesn't make much sense for 1010 to be programmed with it as one of his default songs. But the whole fic was written around getting to the scene where they play that song together, so I was willing to bend that plausibility to get there.
I wrote this imagining 1010 with his MKI design, hence the cap, but the implication is that he's currently a MKII and then gets upgraded to MKIII. So... yeah. If I rewrite this, I'm gonna have to fix that.
It's not that I don't like stories where the robot outlives its human companions, and it has to learn to cope with that, I just feel like in reality, it would be more likely that the robot either breaks down or loses their memories before their human companion dies. Machines are fragile.
I hope I didn't write Yinu to seem too young. I'm not exactly sure how mature that age range is supposed to be. At 8, she'd be the equivalent of a 2nd or 3rd grader, so I figure this is an age where she can understand complex thought but just not have the vocabulary for it.

Note
How did you ever get so lucky? Ha. Was it on a whim? I’m unsure what the process is? Or a callback like actors?
I’m assuming this is about the production assistant role on a set, so!
Luck is a bit of it, yeah, but also hard work.
The process for me has been through education - I enrolled in a hands-on college program that teaches all of the ins-and-outs of film and television production. Classes involve everything from script development and production planning to lighting, camera, set safety, audio, and then all of the post-production of editing, audio, colour grading, etc. The more you know (and the more well-rounded you are), the more of an asset you are in this industry - it’s one thing to write a script, but if you don’t know what a camera is capable of or what a set crew can create in filming, your story isn’t likely to get picked up for production. Also, everyone wants to make the biggest, most successful production for the least amount of money, so… being able to do multiple things is a benefit for most budgets.
In my education setting, because it’s a hands-on (unlike the theory style education of university), everyone I’m learning from is either still working in the industry or recently retired. That means every single one of my professors has connections. And they want their students to succeed, usually. By doing well in their classes (I have maintained a 4.0 GPA for the entirety of my studies), I have been able to gain references and people who are willing to offer me opportunities to continue to grow my own resume. This job is one of those opportunities.
And added bonus of being a student, at least for productions, is that most programs require “hours” for graduation. Which usually translates to being free labour on a set in exchange for learning experience. In my program, I need 100 hours of time on productions in order to graduate. For some programs, that number is crazy high (a classmate from Colombia took 8 months of constant production work to finish the required hours for a program there). There are a very small handful of productions that will pay you for a job like this, but then you are definitely working - as a free PA you’re not actually expected to do any work, simply learn (at least by the laws where I live). For this job, I was a free PA and so far I have worked 30 hours between 2 days with 1 more day to go.
How did I land this role? I spoke to my screenwriting professor to see if he knew of any writing-related PA positions, since that’s the area of the industry I would really like to get into. But, that’s not a thing that comes up very often, especially under the current COVID restrictions on set (and even if you think COVID is over, sets are still functioning with a lot of precautions all over the world). From there, we also discussed my interest in camera and how I’d like to shadow both areas of the industry to see what I find most exciting and fulfilling (don’t get into this industry if you’re not passionate about it - you will burn out so fast with the hours and shitty work/life balance). What if I love writing until it’s my job? By knowing these things about me, he was able to listen on his wavelengths to see if an opportunity would arise that matched my needs. And sure enough! Some guys he’s written with in the past were building a pitch deck and got the clear from a production company to create a demo reel of three scenes to add to their pitch for networks. My professor gave me the information on who to email and let me know that they were looking for a PA who could also drive.
This is where it became work for me again. I emailed the Production Manager for the shoot, who also happens to co-run a production company. I let her know I was interested and available. Persistence landed me a virtual interview, where I told her a bit about my experience (nothing in film, tbh, but a lot of manual labour) and got my media resume into her hands. Anytime she asked me if I was comfortable or willing to do something, like driving a cube van or doing equipment pick-ups, I said yes. Which got me on board, because no one wants to do that grunt work. (Don’t tell people you can do things that you can’t do, though - safety is a big deal on set. I’ve done a lot of driving for other jobs in my lifetime.)
From there, likability and professionalism gained me trust. They needed to know I wasn’t going to fuck around when they were needing me to put a $150K camera set up onto the truck I was driving. That was my first day of work: picking up everything they needed to be present on set.
On my second day, they were shooting. I made sure to be one of the first people on location, since I had the truck with all the equipment, and I was the last one out at the end of the day. I spoke to a bunch of people on set and asked questions and figured out which department I wanted to focus my attention on, since I had the opportunity to do exactly that without causing trouble. Camera Team was really receptive to teaching me, so I just followed them around asking questions wherever possible and verifying my own knowledge from school. Reading out the monitor info to the 2nd AC suddenly became her putting the camera on my shoulder during a break so I could see how heavy it is. Then she showed me the slate and the log book and that transformed into me getting to slate a couple of takes. A lot of my day continued like that - asking as many questions as wasn’t annoying and then recognizing what was coming next or was going to be asked for before anyone asked. By the end of it, I was helping with lens transfers. Being keen like that resulted in both the 1st and 2nd AC telling the Production Manager that I was a great camera PA, both of them gave me their contact information, and the 2nd AC offered herself as a reference if I ever need. Which is mindblowing to me!!!!
But that’s what a lot of the industry is - connection. A lot of teams like to work with each other over and over again and will bring their favourites into productions. Just look at Mike Flanagan: what he does with casting the same actors and using the same crew is totally common and happens in everything from Art Department to Production to Post-Production. (The set decorator from yesterdays shoot had been working on Handmaids Tale and lost her job when a new Art Department was hired and brought in their favourite people to build a team.)
So, luck, hard work, and fostering connection. I’m really hopeful that this production company will call me again in the future for more jobs. I’m hopeful that this project will get picked up by a network so that they may create the show and actually hire me on (as well as everyone else who were making flat rate and doing this as a favour). And I’m hopeful that everyone I’ve met will remember my name and my work ethic so that I may be considered for future projects they are involved with.
I hope that answers your questions? There are no auditions for crew roles - we are not actors or artists as much as technicians. Knowing the safety and the protocols is one of the most important things for any film or television production. But knowing people is the fastest way to get anywhere in the industry.
Best of luck, anon!

I felt that I gave more than he gave me and that was making me really sad last year.

I bought his Secret Obsession about two months ago. and the game changed for me, Jack, my boyfriend started giving me much more attention.
Because I changed the way,I acted with him after reading about his secret Obsession. and learning so much about how men really think how men obsess about women.

And what they actually want, what they actually are obsessed with. now I think, I really understand more about men.
And their desires, and I’m telling you this, because I think your relationship can change his as well every change, starts when we look inside ourselves.
And also when we perceive the other person when we know what the other person is thinking what, the other person wants and that’s what changed the game for me.

Honestly... as always... I'm exhausted. It's grown so much I've stopped fighting for my health aside from just trying to manage pain where I can. I'm tired of being the only one who cares and has any sense of responsibility, but then has to use my energy to push back and fight people who should be caring along with me.
I'm often right about these things... not as a brag, but as a "guys the evidence was right in front of you the whole time, WHY was it such an issue that you refused to see it/make me force your eyes open?" Thing... and I just .. can't. They don't want to listen to me. They want anyone BUT me to set them straight about it, ignoring my track record of being right and worthy of being listened to.. Idk why. They've even mentioned I'm not insufferable about the information, but that they just don't get it/believe me. And, honestly... that's worse.
I'm at the point of burnout, I'm consistently contemplating leaving my job and trying to disappear. The thing stopping me is getting caught and putting pressure on people because I'm no longer financially contributing/need them to pour money into a program or something.
The sad thing is... my sisters could get along just fine bill-wise without me. They're just so BAD at money they think they're poorer than they are. I don't have a choice but to watch them pour hundreds of dollars into one video game- literally buying everything that comes out in microtransactions, hundreds into pre-made and/or fast food because they don't want to learn how to/deal with cooking or meal prep, hundreds on name brand food/items (when the 'knock offs' are made at the same location), hundreds and hundreds in NEW games and merchandise whenever its something remotely interesting/aesthetic, and they refuse to set a budget for just about anything...
All of this frankly overzealous spending had my sister freaking out about a cost she KNEW was coming... and didn't save a dime for... and even knowing she didn't HAVE to save (our father was paying for it in full), she was still freaking out so much she decided to take it out on me.... I had to explain it to her in full why that was wrong, why she was going to be fine, and I had to do it all while being careful not to upset her MORE.
...
And then after it was WAY less than she worried it would be (and her own paycheck would have covered it) she then paid for it with our father's money... and took her own to spend hundreds at gamestop "because she was stressed."
I'm.
I'm not making this up. It sounds like these two are those clueless, spoiled, bratty blondes... and truthfully... they are.
They're both good people where they can be. Beloved by family, friends, and coworkers alike... and yet they're so irresponsibly IGNORANT... and i'm the only one who sees it... and has to put up with it. And I'm still the bad guy for constantly being stressed and/or not giving them tons and tons of praise... because people don't know I pick up after their irresponsible asses.
It's like this with many things... their own health, the places we rent, the car we have, the things we need... it falls on me to know and do because they don't want to. They legitimately have refused to learn and take any of these burdens on.
And people wonder why I only work 3 days a week... and seem to be starting to be incapable of that too.
Through all of this... even working only 3 days a week... I was able to save hundreds.. nearly a thousand.. I still have a few hundred left to my disposal after giving money to our grandparents right before our grandfather died a few weeks ago... after having paid for a trip almost in-full by myself (little sister gave me a little money afterwards)... after buying myself a bed I desperately needed.... all while paying off debts for surgeries.
Hundreds. I have saved HUNDREDS. On my meager pay.
Yes, of course, my sisters include me in the food/necessities they buy... but the sad fact is that if they DIDN'T, I'd STILL be able to save AND have more at my disposal than they would... AND they'd still come to me for help paying for other things!!! How do I know? I've been buying more for myself as of late... food I want, clothing/necessities I need, stuff I want on occasion... and still... I have a few hundred left. More I can and do set aside each month if i keep up with all 3 days a week at work. It's not a lot, but over time it adds up. And they do ask me to get stuff for them too.
*sigh*
If they set budgets for themselves... if they didn't impulsively buy so much shit they don't even use or need... they'd already have thousands. THOUSANDS... at their disposal. EACH.
Preferably, in my mind, for these basic life costs... for their healthcare that don't even try to care about, maybe... for the bigger and better things they complain about not having... not being able to do... and relying on me for... like trips/experiences (they're REALLY fucking rare-- and it's worth noting the trip I paid for was actually tiny. A few nights at a nearby hot spring location. Trips don't have to be BIG, but they can't/won't try for even the small ones... let alone the ones they want and then complain about not getting.. oi...)... like care for our animals.... like stuff to make life easier (gosh i want a dishwasher to help with my ocd issues and dishes... but I'm not buying one when i constantly have to worry about those two being dumb and needing financial help T^T)
*double sigh*
I'm just so exhausted all the time.
This isn't even getting into the rest of the emotional toll brought on by constantly being called worthless, treated poorly, tending to issues, and not having support in the areas I need it most as an Autistic person just trying to stay alive/level.
If I did have the support I needed... I know the absolute wreck I am wouldn't be such a wreck and I COULD do my dishes regularly instead of reusing the same items... could put away all my clothes in my dresser. Could organize my shelves. Could vacuum and clean and do all the stuff people think i should be doing the rest of the week when I'm not working... not just when absolutely necessary/I have a very rare day of just enough energy.
I hate my life in so many ways. Not trying to be a brat... but I really do.

just want to pop in regarding Lin. she was the only writer who represented eastern Europe in the entire fandom. she chose to represent a nation that is currently suffering to introduce people to their culture. hell her work inspired me to educate myself on the region and the country. sure her works also included romance and smut but there was so much more because she went for relatable themes and topics. and Laura was such a great mc.
Thank you so much for bringing this to light, Anon! Seriously! Lin has inspired so many people to learn and know more about Eastern European culture. I would have never known about wonderful and interesting Ukrainian culture and tradition if it wasn't for her and she wove this so seamlessly into her fics!
I remember she had this one fic where Laura introduced Ethan to her playlist with a bunch of Ukrainian (?) Artists if I'm not wrong and I ended up listening to the song and it was wonderful! Lin was extremely thorough and through with everything, treating Laura as a person; an actual person than a character of her own. Albeit being new to the fandom, she advocated for kindness and would share so many things pertinent to what was going on in Ukraine so we can all be aware and show support.
There was this other fic or HC I remember of Lin's where Edenbrook has an exchange program. Lin ends up going back to her home country to improve patient care and tells Ethan all about it. It is such a clever, beautiful way of acknowledging different cultures, different traditions and I also remember a series of holiday fics she'd written where Ethan was kind of the audience surrogate in exploring Laura's heritage. Lin made it so wonderful for us to explore the culture as well and her storytelling was so fascinating, so intriguing. I don't know if she's the only Eastern European MC in the whole of the Choices fandom, but she certainly was the only one in OH; but it is such a shame, such a terrible thing that we'll probably not hear from Laura or Lin again.
Laura was someone you actively rooted for. She was a strong character and believed heavily in her roots. I think when she was young, Lin gave her a backstory where she fell fatally sick but made a great recovery, which gave her the motivation to work in medicine. She was such a romantic too, at heart, always wanted the best for everybody and I love the fact that she hated Ethan when they first met. Sure Lin's works have romance and smut in them, AND she does this characterisation so well, so beautifully executed that you can't help but not think Laura can't be just a character.
Lin did so much work; I remember her telling me she was collaborating with Ukrainian people online about this too and she's always had the most positive message to bring to the fandom. Ukraine lost so many lives, so many resources in this battle and it doesn't help that in news outlets, they're conglomerated under the "war torn zones" category, as far as the news go here, in my home country. Laura brought all of this information to light, even the ugly ones. She advocated for change on a global level by starting small. She didn't have to make Laura Ukrainian at all. She could've just stuck with a simple backstory and gone with it, but the sheer elaboratedness in her work is what drew me to it in the first place.
It just sucks that beautiful, powerful characters like Laura are just shunned and bullied off. And even more wonderful, talented writers like Lin are send miles and miles of hate. I just don't know what to say about this, honestly. It's tough to see someone go, but it is even tougher to learn that the fandom that for a long time, talked about supporting creators and got everyone to agree on it, played the part in their departure. I just wish Lin the best and I hope she perhaps picks up Laura again, maybe for an original project. Her works, the heart and soul of her projects, her literal blood, sweat and tears can't all be for nothing, no.

[Zelda] Please, Protect the Arts: Part 3
Rating: K
word Count: 1,618 words
Previous | Next | AO3
- - -
Their next meeting occurred on a Friday. This time, the boy had met with Zelda outside of the art institute.
“I’m starting to distrust that look in your eye.” Zelda informed him the moment they were within respectable distance from each other. The boy immediately gave a gasp of offense. He even made a gesture similar to clutching invisible pearls. That soon rolled into a small laugh as he gestured for her to follow him.
Rolling her eyes, Zelda did so anyway.
The boy took them up to the school’s third floor. There he went to a door and opened it without thought. On the other side was a rather decent sized art studio. Smaller than the orchestra room, but still spacious enough for the artists to have room to get supplies without bumping into their neighbor.
“Ah, there you are!” a new voice spoke up. It was the teacher of the art class, making a beeline for the boy. “We have the stool and light ready for you. We’re not working on dynamic poses today, so you can sit as comfortably as you can.”
The boy nodded and immediately went to his place. From there, that left just Zelda and the teacher there. It took another moment more for said teacher to realize Zelda wasn’t a regular student.
“Well, hello there,” they greeted. “Are you-? Would you happen to be the daughter of the state rep? Are you planning on taking classes next year?”
“Yes, I am.” Zelda agreed with a small nod. “But also no. I’m actually on campus to help convince my father, to convince the board of ed, to not implore a rather large budget cut to the school.”
The teacher’s eyes grew wide. “That sounds like quite the feat.”
“I might have dug my own grave.” Zelda sheepishly agreed. “But I think I’m getting there, the more I learn about this school in general. It’s been so long since I’ve actually taken any kind of art program.”
“Come join us for class then!” the teacher all but jumped to suggest. “Maybe it’ll change your mind about next year’s enrollment.”
Zelda took a deep breath of thought. She looked to the boy that brought her here.  A small thought entered her head at that moment. She decided to pursue it later as she looked back to the teacher.
“You know, I think I will. Is there enough material to do that though?”
“Oh, definitely.” the teacher quickly nodded. They even started to get supplies as they went on, “All I need to do is pull up another easel, get you some paper and charcoal, and you’re good to go.”
“Sounds great.” Zelda agreed. In a few moments time, an easel had been set up for her in between two students that didn’t seem bothered by her presence.
Following the teacher’s instruction on starting with the simple shapes that made up the boy’s face (the teacher too apparently didn’t know his name, which was a mild, delayed disappointment), Zelda and the students at both sides of her started to sketch him on their papers. The boy kept a straight posture the entire time. Not once after ten minutes have passed did he so much as wiggle. Zelda noticed that a dreamy quality reflected in his eyes, siding quite well with the usual look of determination.
‘He could have been a brave knight in another life,’ Zelda thought, quirking her head to the side a moment after. ‘Trial after trial, never losing that light of hope and courage in his eye…’
Zelda zoned out for some time after that. Her hand moving on its own as the class continued to draw the boy, making adjustments based on their teacher’s instruction. When they got to Zelda, the teacher made a noise that was equally impressed and confused.
“Well, you certainly have an interpretation for clothing, ma’am.”
“Ohuh?” Zelda absently wondered as her thoughts returned to this time and place. She looked back at her drawing and nearly startled herself. The drawing was still of the boy, but instead of his simple T-shirt and relaxed jeans, he was wearing a tunic made of silk. On his head was a cap colored the shade as the tunic, indicating that they would have been a similar hue had it not been drawn with charcoal.
“I’m sorry…” Zelda apologized, feeling quite sheepish suddenly.
“Don’t be!” the teacher easily brushed off. “It’s a marvelous drawing of the lad! If I were you, I’d have it framed the moment you got home.”
“I’ll consider it.” Zelda anxiously laughed.
From his spot, the boy cocked his head at the conversation. He’d find out about the drawing soon after. After the teacher called their students to finish up, Zelda was the first at the sink to wash up. She sat her drawing down on a nearby table, and when she got back, the boy was staring at her drawing- more than once brushing off a student or two who wanted him to look at their drawing instead.
“You like it?” Zelda asked after getting to his side.
For a moment, the boy made a face. It was hard to tell if it was from contemplation or disgust. Zelda worried he thought it looked terrible. Eventually, the boy gave a shake of his head. He went to get a pencil, then gestured to Zelda’s drawing. His face still looked rather serious.
“You’ll sign it for me?” Zelda asked, hoping that she was reading his gestures right.
The boy gave her a sure nod. That small flicker of playfulness came across his face again. Zelda matched it with a bemused grin of her own.
“Alright then.” she challenged. “Sign my drawing for me.”
He did not need to be told twice. The boy went right to work writing something at the corner of Zelda’s drawing. It was not his name. Instead he left behind the words, ‘Four letters. Four clues. It’s easy- they’re given in order. Good luck!’ and a particularly mocking smiling face after. He looked back up at her with yet another mischievous grin.
All Zelda could do was stare at him.
“Ma’am, do you have a moment?”
Both Zelda and the boy looked up to see the teacher there. They tried to look relaxed, but were failing ever so slightly.
“Is it alright if I showed you some painted works?” the teacher asked. “Perhaps it is something you could use in your argument toward the funding.”
“Of course!” Zelda agreed without a second guess. “Please, show me.”
The teacher relaxed quite a bit at this. They led Zelda to a section of the studio where there were many paintings drying from a vertical rack. Zelda looked through them with a passing interest. The paintings ranged from the abstract (and in some cases, a bit lazy) to the highly detailed. However, only one made Zelda stop in her tracks.
For the most part, it was rather simple. The silhouette of a wolf howling at the moon from a high, grassy cliff. However, the closer Zelda got, she could see that the grass got a bit lighter as it became part of the foreground. Even the moon had its individual spots from centuries of comets creating craters. Even the darker details had some small amount of a brighter color that brought attention to a hidden detail- the trees had sleepy birds hidden within their branches. Even the wolf had details that took a trained eye to see. A broken piece of chain still remained on one of its front paws, and closer still were the individual stripes on the wolf’s sides. Signed in the upper right corner was the name Midna.
“See something you like, ma’am?” the teacher gently prodded, knowing that Zelda was now enraptured by the work.
“This painting… It’s very well done.” she found herself saying in awe. “The detail is just marvelous.”
“Student work.” the teacher proudly informed her.
“Are you serious?”
“Most definitely.”
Zelda’s eyes widened at the discovery.
“A-am I able to buy it?” she then asked.
“As is? Unfortunately not. We wait for sales of student work for the end of year exhibit. Most everything the students make in all our departments will be there. The drawing and painting classes, the photo classes, the ceramics classes…”
“Who pays for all of it?”
“Most is covered by the school, the rest is usually organized by us teachers. Small things like pizza parties, sometimes paper for class. Then some smaller instances that really pertain from each teacher to teacher.”
“That’s amazing.”
“The devil works hard, but the arts work harder.” the teacher grinned. All Zelda could give in her shock was a nod.
By instinct, Zelda turned behind her to get the boy’s opinion of the piece, but he was gone. Her heart sank at the discovery- a notion that she quickly shook away. However, the table they were at was not empty. Besides Zelda’s drawing, there was something new sitting there. Zelda moved closer just to confirm her thoughts on what it was.
An inkwell.
The boy had left behind an inkwell for her. A real pretty one too; primarily made of glass with metal embellishments that allowed the inkwell to faintly resemble a pumpkin, or a peeled orange. The teacher let out a slow whistle after seeing it as well.
“Someone’s got good taste.” they approved. They soon started to frown. “I hope a student didn’t leave it behind.”
“Don’t worry, it’s mine.” Zelda told them. She gently picked up the inkwell and looked it over closer. On the lid, the words ‘Pure Indian Ink. Use Carefully.’ were embossed. Zelda gave a small grin.
Clue number two was secured.

Rina Bogart - Mystery School Code - Honest Reviews
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSNpt2B5rY8
Regarding college financial aid, there have been investigations into the supernatural. The goal of Rina Bogart's book, which she calls "The Mystery Code," is to help the reader become a more respectable person, and the book is made to do this. The standard length of an audio track is one minute and twenty seconds, which is what the software chooses as the default. The music's constantly changing frequency could help some people with acrophobia get over their fear of heights (fear of heights).
When making a decision, the person's professional and financial success is taken into account. The people who worked on the product were really hoping that it would meet all of your needs and wishes. They thought that it would be able to do that.
If you stick to the strategy exactly and everything goes as planned, then everything should go as planned. You might be able to get your life back on track with the help of the audio recordings.
If you use The Mystery School Code, you might be healthier, have more money, and be happier overall in as little as a minute and a half. Here is where you can find it if you need it. Achievement is the successful completion of a goal that was set up front. The right way to figure out the password for the secret group is the answer to the question "Where can I learn more about them?" Along with everything else, we will talk about the pros and cons of the current situation.
You haven't been able to figure out the Top Secret Message that the Mystery School gave you, right? It is thought that Rina Bogart was the one who first thought of the Mystery School Code. She says that she found the recording while she was traveling in Egypt.
When Rina Bogart told her husband about the information she had found while trying to figure out the Mystery School Code, their lives were completely and utterly turned upside down. Their health, their finances, and the overall quality of their lives all got better, which made them feel better about things.
If you want to find a way to calm down and be happy in life, the Mystery School Code is the key that will open all the doors and point you in the right direction. This short audio clip gives advice on a wide range of topics, including making a budget, keeping good relationships, and taking care of one's health.
If you ask Rina Bogart, historical figures like Alexander the Great, Jesus Christ, and Mohammed were the first people to find out about and use the Mystery School Code. This is what Rina says. If you are finally ready to put in the work needed to make your goals come true, you should think about signing up for Rina's manifestation program. Because of this, goals that are too far-fetched or "pie in the sky" lose their value.
So, tell me, what exactly is wrong with this mysterious organization that is based here? Because of this, people are more likely to be skeptical of products that say they will make their lives easier. It's easy to see how someone could feel this way after years of being let down and losing hope.
Rina Bogart, who wrote "The Mystery School Code," thinks that somewhere between a million and a billion people are involved. Using The Mystery School Code, which gives you a unique mix of brainwave frequencies and noises, is one way you might be able to improve your brainpower. You'll be able to concentrate better because of this.
