Antisemitism is going to rise. Remember that as the days pass it's not a one sided issue, and you may be actively calling for another genocide of yet another 6 million Jews.

Israeli Pilots Who Bombed Hospitals In Gaza Identified
Tumblr media
Reports on the Israeli pilots involved in the airstrikes that targeted hospitals and civilians in Gaza have been published by Nournews.
Tal Zahavi, pictured on the left, boasting over 23 years in the Israeli Air Force, has been involved in air operations against civilians in Gaza for the past 73 days, including the bombing of Deir al-Balah’s residential areas on October 19 and November 7, and the bombing of Rafah on October 26 and December 12, leading to the tragic killing of at least 675 Palestinians, including 230 children.
Guy Isaac Alon, pictured on the right, has also been actively involved in the last 73 days, participating in the bombing of two hospitals, namely Gaza’s Baptist Hospital and Al-Shifa Hospital. He also played a role in the bombing of six mosques, Al Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis, as well as other densely populated civilian areas, resulting in the tragic killing of at least 500 Palestinians, including 165 children.

for the 100th time! when a terrorist organisation hides under and inside areas full of civilians, civilians get hurt! not realising this simple fact is pure ignorance. no one but hamas targets gazan civilians. this "brave new difficult question" (עלק) is so easy and simple to answer and has been discussed a lot I can't believe this person think they SAID SOMETHING. wake up, you know nothing about how war works and you know nothing about palestinian terrorism in gaza, how terrorist organisation have been operating and how when terrorists use a civilian area for military activity that civilian area becomes a fair target UNDER INTERNATIONAL LAW. next.
(whose "we" in the "why are we funding this"?! it'll be shocking to find out that this person has paid more than 10 dollars in taxes in the US in their entire life)

I have ANGST! Part 6
(links later. I'm on mobile.)
It started at 9 am on a Tuesday. The Justice League got a call from an agency calling themselves the Ghost Investigation Ward. They reported that their main base was being attacked by ghosts.
This was a great cause for concern as 1) no member of the JL had heard of "the Ghost Investigation Ward", 2) this unknown agency was running a visible, yet unacknowledged, operation in a populated area, and 3) not only are ghosts real, but, according to Zatanna and Constantine, they are actually extra-dimensional beings of unbelievable power.
So why were they attacking a small town in the middle of Nowhere, Illinois? And why was there an entire government agency also hidden in this town?
Information was sparse. The town itself almost seemed to not exist. There was no internet activity to be found. No news broadcasts or publications.
It seemed as though the town was in a bubble. But was the bubble created by the ghosts or the government?
Regardless, the JL had to act.
-----------
Things in Amity Park are strange.
The civilian population is completely unharmed. Public buildings are undamaged. People are going about their daily lives.
But there's an unmistakable tension in the air. It's hard to ignore the way that the civilians stop and stare when they see the Justice League. It's even harder to ignore the outright hatred in the eyes of passersby.
The GIW's base is badly damaged. The windows are shattered. There are several holes in the ground surrounding the building. Some of the plants near the building are still smoldering.
It's clear that a battle has recently been fought here.
As the jet approaches the building, there are several flashes of green light and several colorful figures fly away from the building. A dozen men in white suits flow out of the doors of the building and begin to shoot at the figures flying away. Most of their shots miss. It seems like they can't agree on which target they should be focusing on.
They land and immediately begin to question the agents.
A hostile ghost had broken into their base and released several of their test subjects.
The hostile is known as Phantom.

Living near supers/heroes as a meta
(CW: Unreality, In-character RP) I wanted to share some tips and tricks that I have picked up from experience and talking with other metas about moving/relocating from city to city. I hope that this list is helpful for those who are just going out on their own for the first time. Stay safe everyone!
---
For metas, establish yourself a routine. Something that your neighbors grow accustomed to, check your mail the same time every day, go to the bus stop the same time. Stick to the routine to the best of your ability.
Why? Metas are statistically more likely to be targeted by goons, rogues, etc. when out and about. If you go missing, you want people to be able to tell. This is also a fantastic tip for young women living alone.
Try to keep up to date on the local rogues and their hench-people, and keep as far away from them as possible. Even a single meeting may make it look to heroes, to civilians, etc. that you are working for that group.
I have found it far easier to keep a form of ID on you as a meta, even if you do not drive, than to argue with random security guards about the fact that "no, I am not a new rogue, I am here to buy pants." Do not HAND them your ID.
--- Keep in mind where it is you plan to move. What sort of threats are there? Is it a smaller town? What is the local meta population like?
If the city has statistics about their meta population, that either means that they are actively going door-to-door asking for this information, they have some local organization of metas sharing this information, or they are partaking in some less than ideal practices. Being a meta is considered medical information in many places.
I also suggest going to the pages of notable political figures in the area you plan to move, find their stances on metas if you can. The more vocal ones tend to be even MORE vocal on social media.
If your city is large enough, it may have a help hotline for metas, to my knowledge there are only a couple cities that do as of now, but others seem to be following suit.
And finally: If your local heroes make public appearances, and you have the opportunity to, introduce yourself! I know the Flash was DELIGHTED when he met me when I was a kid. I have the photo framed. Letting the local heroes know you exist is an amazing experience for anyone.
If you have anything else you would like to add, I ENCOURAGE it!
EDIT: Added the unreality tag after seeing others tag it and realize that it would be beneficial.

Daily update post:
Israel has published intel retrieved on Dec 18 from Hamas headquarters in Gaza, on how Hamas was using a network of fake Facebook profiles, pretending to be Israelis living abroad, and looking to hire Israeli Jews to make deliveries for them. First, they were meant to be innocent deliveries, in order to "groom" the Israelis for the moment when they will unknowingly be helping Hamas to deliver explosives. This was carried out by, among others, terrorists released in the 2011 Gilad Shalit hostage exchange deal (where Israel exchanged 1,027 Palestinian prisoners for the release of one captured Israeli soldier), who had a better knowledge of Hebrew and of Israeli due to their time in Israeli prisons. The terrorists released in the Gilad Shalit deal include Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza.

Israeli soldiers in Gaza have reached a cemetery for British soldiers who died there during WWI. The Brits usually buried their soldiers where they died. Among the British soldiers who fought and died in Gaza during that war were Jewish ones, too. I've seen people using the good state of their graves to claim that in Gaza, they are very respectful of Judaism itself, that it's evidenced by how they treat Jewish graves well, and it's only Zionists they have an issue with. What they leave out is that this cemetery was so well preserved because it's NOT a Jewish one, it's British. I found a pic where you can specifically see the grave of a Christian soldier, with a cross on the tombstone, buried next to the grave of a Jewish man, with a Star of David engraved. In comparison with this British cemetery, we can talk about the ancient Jewish synagogue in Gaza, that was appropriated and turned into a mosque (that they then used for terrorist activity, leading to its destruction in this war), or the modern synagogues left behind by Israel when it withdrew from Gaza in 2005, which were burned down by the Palestinians.
Tumblr media
For several days now, protesters have been headed down south to where aid trucks pass from Israel to Gaza, in an attempt to block them. I wanna emphasize that they are NOT looking to deprive civilian Gazans of aid, they are just saying that humanitarian aid should be given in exchange for humanitarian aid making it to the Israeli hostages held in Gaza. On different days, the protesters have been sometimes more successful, sometimes less, but what's clear is that Israel is doing its best not to allow this, arresting protesters, and temporarily declaring the roads leading to the Gaza crossings as closed military areas.
In Sweden, a suspicious object was found next to the Israeli embassy, meaning they fear it was an attempted bombing. In an interview, the Israeli ambassador said that the staff is sure that's what it was, that the Swedish police is handling it, and they have no further information. The Israeli embassy in Sweden has recently been a target for Hamas' terrorists in Europe.

Sweden is now the 18th financier suspending their funding of UNRWA. In Germany, there are voices calling for the dismantling of it completely. I'm gonna attach a piece about that in Hebrew, but the Germans being interviewed are speaking in English, so it shouldn't be a problem to understand them. The first speaker is Uwe Becker, an amazing ally to Jews, who has been in charge of fighting antisemitism in the German state of Hessen, the rest belong to the democratic liberal party FDP, which is a part of the coalition.
Meanwhile, Norway, Ireland, Spain, Denmark and Belgium are continuing their funding to UNRWA, despite its ties to Palestinian terrorist organizations. Let it be remembered that Norway, Ireland, Spain, Denmark and Belgium have no issue with their money going to antisemitism and anti-Jewish terrorism.
Tumblr media
The amount of pics and vids coming out of Gaza, showing weapons and rockets being hidden inside UNRWA schools, facilities and bags is insane, so I kinda stopped repeating myself with them at some point, but here's another one, fresh from today, explosives and mines found inside a bag with the UNRWA logo.

It only took several decades of people in the music industry knowing Roger Waters is an antisemite, and several very long years of the public starting to see it as well, for Waters to be fired by his music company, BMG. People are now connecting the news to an interview he gave back in November, in which he of course accused Jews for his firing.

This is 24 years old Ran Gevili.

On Oct 7, he was at a hospital, awaiting surgery. When he heard the news, he didn't hesitate and left for the area attacked by Hamas terrorists to help. At 10:50 in the morning, he sent his friends a message on WhatsApp that he's been shot twice in the leg. He was thought to be kidnapped, but today it's been confirmed that he had been murdered that day by Hamas, and his body is being held hostage in Gaza. May his memory be a blessing.

By Nachum Kaplan
Hamas correctly identified that antisemitism was only dormant in the West, and that they just needed to wake the sleeping monster. They knew this because there were clear tells, such as the international media’s fixation on Israel, the over-reporting of the country, and that the Pavlovian way the conflict becomes newsworthy only when Israel responds to an attack.Hamas stuck to what has worked throughout history. The blood libel trope was modernized into accusations of genocide and deliberate starvation, while the trope of Jews being responsible for their persecution was updated with the notion that Israel had turned Gaza into an open-air prison. They leveraged their numerical advantage. With more than a billion Muslims globally, Hamas knew it had a huge virtual army it could activate on social media to reach a global audience.Hamas flooded social media with lies to exploit the Repetition Bias, a heuristic (mental shortcut) in which repeated information feels more true than new or unrepeated information. Social media repeated these lies exponentially, aided by extensive use of AI-generated “photographs.”The Palestinians also exploited another numerical advantage, the number of Muslim states, which is 48. This has given them weight in forums such as the United Nations and its various committees and bodies, creating a suited army of bureaucrats with credible titles to tell lies to the international press.Almost comically, Iran has just assumed the presidency of the UN Conference on Disarmament. That is the same Islamic Republic that funds, arms, and trains Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen — and ships arms to Russia to use in its invasion of Ukraine. They controlled the information flow.Hamas and the Palestinian Authority have used traditional authoritarian tactics to control the information flow from areas they govern. Reporters cannot report freely or unfavorably from Palestinian-controlled territories if they want to retain access. Threats of violence keep the few unsympathetic local reporters in check.Exploiting the inability of most media to report from Gaza directly, Hamas has used local Gazan “journalists” to feed lies, distorting images, and fabricated data to the credulous international media. Time and again, the foreign press has swallowed them, including claimed civilian death toll numbers that are demonstrably untrue (and presume every person killed was a civilian).Hamas has only needed the media to report its numbers, knowing that if repeated enough, they be treated as true and that no one will pay attention to the fine print stating they are unverified. Hamas at one point even had the media complaining that Israel was simultaneously not allowing reporters access to Gaza and targeting journalists there. They mastered the 24-hour news cycle. The internet has blurred the traditional lines between print and television news, turning all news media into digital services beholden to the 24-hour news cycle.Hamas has understood that as long as it keeps manufacturing outrages, the news cycle will move on quickly, and they will never be held to account. The Qatar-funded Al Jazeera, which has the veneer of a real news organization, has played a key role in this. They have exploited a ‘post-truth’ world.Hamas recognized that the post-Modernist rot has resonated in much of the West, including across its media and universities. The belief that people cannot only have their own opinions, but their own facts, sounds laughable, but it has become worryingly normal.Political tribes express opinions mainly as identity signals, and tribal loyalty is more important to these people than truth, or even reality. Hamas has understood that this liberates it from any need to have a fact-based narrative. They use simple slogans.“

[ 📹 Scenes from residential neighborhoods in Khan Yunis where citizens of Gaza go about their daily routines despite the massive destruction inflicted on their community and a large undetonated missile sitting in the middle of the street, fired by the Zionist occupation army towards civilian homes.
📈 Yesterday's death toll count shows over 14'500 children have been killed by the occupation army since the start of the war, while over 33'000 Palestinians overall have been killed, including at least 9'560 women.]
🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚀🏘️💥🚑 🚨
MASS MURDER SLOWS AGAIN, INJURIES ON THE RISE IN NEWS ROUNDUP OF THE 184TH DAY OF "ISRAEL'S" SPECIAL GENOCIDE OPERATION IN GAZA
On the 184th day of "Israel's" Special Genocide Operation in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed a total of four new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of no less than 38 Palestinian civilians, mostly women and children, while another 71 others were wounded over the previous 24-hours.
Gaza's Ministry of Health reported that many victims remain missing, while the occupation army continues to actively block ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching the sites of Israeli attacks.
According to the Ministry, "A number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them."
On Saturday, the World Health Organization (WHO) released a report on the Zionist raid of Al-Shifa medical complex, in the Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, detailing the horrific damage inflicted on the Hospital, and the countless graves lining the hospital grounds.
During the recent mission to the complex by WHO staff, the organization said that Al-Shifa "is now an empty shell after the latest siege."
"No patients remain at the facility. Most of the buildings are extensively damaged or destroyed and the majority of equipment is unusable or reduced to ashes. The WHO team said that the scale of devastation has left the facility completely non-functional, further reducing access to life-saving health care in Gaza. Restoring even minimal functionality in the short term seems implausible and will require substantial efforts to assess and clear the grounds for unexploded ordnance to ensure safety and accessibility for partners to bring in equipment and supplies," the WHO said in its report.
Further, much of the hospital's facilities have been completely or partially destroyed, and are mostly unsalvageable according to the WHO, while most of the healthcare facility's equipment has also been detonated with explosives or burned in resulting fires.
When the WHO personnel walked through the hospital's grounds, the horrifying scene that met the team shocked them.
According to their report, the WHO team witnessed, "Numerous shallow graves have been dug just outside the emergency department, and the administrative and surgical buildings. In the same area, many dead bodies were partially buried with their limbs visible."
"During the visit, WHO staff witnessed at least five bodies lying partially covered on the ground, exposed to the heat. The team reported a pungent smell of decomposing bodies engulfing the hospital compound. Safeguarding dignity, even in death, is an indispensable act of humanity," the WHO added.
According to Gaza's media office, more than 400 Palestinians were killed in the Al-Shifa siege and eventual raid, while together, the number of missing, dead, and wounded total over 1'500.
In other news, the Palestinian Minister of Women's Affairs, Mona Al-Khalili said in a statement on Sunday that the Israeli occupation deliberately targets women and children while prosecuting its genocidal war in Gaza, and also targets women and children in the occupied West Bank.
In the statement, the Minister pointed out that over 9'560 women have been killed since the start of the current round of Zionist aggression, while out of 15'000 pregnant women living in the Gaza Strip, 95% of them consume insufficient amounts of food, increasing the risk of death and disease for both mothers and their unborn children.
She also noted that roughly one million forcibly displaced women in Gaza face "exacerbated protection risks in shelter centers that lack basic necessities and privacy," adding that approximately 37 mothers are killed in Gaza everyday.
The statement pointed out that 8'100 women will give birth to new babies in Gaza over the next month, however, with restrictions on movement that remain in place, while the destruction, and the Israeli army's dismemberment, of Palestinian cities continues, "hindering access to vital health and social services, ambulance movements, and the provision of humanitarian services."
In the occupied West Bank and Al-Quds (Jerusalem), the Minister stated that more than 1'620 Palestinian families, including at least 710 children have been displaced by the Zionist occupation army due to the Israeli occupation's policy of demolishing Palestinian homes.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation continued with its bombing and shelling campaign across the entirety of the Gaza Strip, and while murders of Palestinians have slowed in recent days, largely due to the intense international pressure put on the occupation after the Israeli bombing of a convoy of humanitarian aid vehicles in Deir al-Balah on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of 7 foreign aid workers, while a second major violation of International law came with the recent Zionist bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, which forced many of "Israel's" allies to condemn the occupation, still, the killings still have yet to stop.
The Israeli occupation army also withdrew "all of its meneuvering ground forces" from the Gaza Strip on Sunday, leaving just a single brigade in the entirety of the enclave.
According to the Zionist media, forces with the 98th Division were withdrawn from the Khan Yunis governate after four straight months of fighting in Gaza.
This leaves only the "Nahal" Brigade, which has been tasked with securing the so-called Netzarim Corridor, a 6.5km-long (4mi) passage built by the IOF running from east to west and bisecting the central Gaza Strip from the Be'eri area of southern occupied Palestine to the coast of Gaza, enabling Zionist forces to carry out raids in either the north or south of the enclave.
Just hours after the Israeli occupation celebrated their supposed defeat of Hamas in Khan Yunis, and immediately after withdrawing forces from the city, five Resistance rockets were fired from Khan Yunis towards Israeli communities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In the north of Gaza, Zionist warplanes bombed a residential building on Al-Mansoura Street, east of the Al-Shujaiya neighborhood of Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of at least four Palestinians, and wounding another 10 others, while occupation Merkava main battle tanks (MBTs) advanced on Al-Rashid Street, west of Gaza City, moving towards the 17th roundabout for a few hours before returning to a temporary base built in the south of Gaza.
In another strike, occupation artillery detatchments shelled a multitude of civilian residences in the Tal al-Hawa and Al-Zaytoun neighborhoods of Gaza City, wounding at least six civilians, while occupation Merkava MBTs fired artillery shells into civilian homes west of Gaza.
Reports also stated that the Israeli occupation army shelled multiple areas in the city of Beit Hanoun, as well as the Qleibo area, in the northern Gaza Strip, while also shelling the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City, along with the southern neighborhoods of Gaza.
At the same time, Israeli artillery forces shelled residential buildings, along with the Sheikh Zayed Towers in the city of Beit Lahia, in the north of Gaza, wounding a number of people.
Similarly, Israeli fighter jets bombarded several residential homes in the Al-Zinna and Bani Suhaila neighborhoods, east of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, murdering two Palestinian civilians and wounding at least 7 others, while at the same time, IOF soldiers opened gunfire with live bullets towards civilians in the same two villages, resulting in several casualties.
In the early night, Zionist air forces also carried out several bombings in areas west of Khan Yunis, in the south of Gaza, and also bombed a group of Palestinians in the vicinity of the Turkish slaughterhouse, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties, while simultaneously, Israeli artillery forces shelled large areas of the south and west of Khan Yunis.
Intense battles with Resistance forces raged across Khan Yunis last night, this despite months of ongoing ground operations in the city, resulting in the deaths of at least four Israeli soldiers, including at least one officer, and also wounding several other Zionist soldiers, while the Al-Qassam Brigades said they'd targeted occupation armored vehicles and soldiers in the Al-Zanna neighborhood, and also targeted the occupation in the east and west of the city.
As a result of the explosive battles with Resistance forces, occupation warplanes bombed the Al-Amal neighborhood of Khan Yunis, along with the Zinna neighborhood, and also bombarded areas in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa University, while Zionist forces also detonated another residential square east of the Nasser medical complex.
Additionally, occupation aircraft dropped American-made bombs in the vicinity of a civilian residence near the Al-Istiqama Mosque, in the Al-Janeina neighborhood, east of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip, while Zionist forces also targeted the Al-Nasr neighborhood, north of Rafah, resulting in several casualties.
In another tragedy, it was reported today that Nasser Nasr (Abu Basil), who was wounded during the Israeli occupation bombing of his residential home, killing both his wife and son, has died himself as a result of his injuries.
In yet another criminal atrocity, Zionist occupation forces bombed a group of civilians gathered in the town of al-Zahra'a, in central Gaza, killing at least three Palestinians and wounding dozens of others.
IOF warplanes also renewed their bombardment of residential buildings in the town of Al-Mughraqa, in the central Gaza Strip.
For the first time since the start of "Israel's" genocidal war, Zionist forces on Sunday allowed a fuel truck and two trucks carrying essential medicines to pass-on to hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip.
As a result of "Israel's" Special Genocide Operation in the Gaza Strip, the infinitely rising death toll has now exceeded 33'175 Palestinians killed, including more than 14'500 children and 9'560 women, while another 75'886 others have been wounded since the start of the current round of Zionist aggression beginning on October 7th, 2023.

https://nationalpost.com/news/no-joke-ottawa-to-give-ukraine-4-million-to-fund-gender-inclusive-demining
Tumblr media
The press release that went out Saturday makes mention of $3.02 billion in financial and military support to Ukraine in 2024, but it also outlines a number of smaller, targeted initiatives.
One of these, listed as “Gender-inclusive demining for sustainable futures in Ukraine,” has a funding budget of $4 million.
“This project from the HALO Trust aims to safeguard the lives and livelihoods of Ukrainians, including women and internally displaced persons, by addressing the threat of explosive ordnance present across vast areas of the country,” the item reads.
“Project activities include conducting non-technical surveys and subsequent manual clearance in targeted communities; providing capacity building to key national stakeholders; and establishing a gender and diversity working group to promote gender-transformative mine action in Ukraine.”
The buzzword-laden final phrase caught many off-guard, and social media began filling up with queries and jokes about what it could mean.
People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier was perhaps the most straightforward when he tweeted a picture of the policy in question, adding: “No joke! YOU’RE ALL PAYING TO PROMOTE GENDER-INCLUSIVE DEMINING IN UKRAINE”
While the phrase “gender-transformative mine action” proved the biggest stumbling block, with some on X wondering if landmines themselves had a gender, the notion of gender-inclusive demining is actually quite simple.
As the website of The HALO Trust explains, “Clearing landmines inspires confidence by making land safe. It is also empowering for men and women alike. With training and a living wage, they can take control of their destiny.” The HALO Trust is a U.K.-based non-governmental organization dedicated to clearing landmines in conflict zones around the world.
Canada’s announcement does seem to be somewhat fixated on gender issues, with the word “gender” appearing seven times in the press release, including a mention of “gender responsiveness” in funding for resilient food systems; fighting gender disparity in Ukrainian media; and “gender-responsive” community priorities in reconstruction efforts.
Charlotte MacLeod, a spokesperson with Global Affairs Canada, told the Post that, thanks to HALO’s lobbying efforts, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence in 2017 approved the employment of women as deminers, something that was previously banned by Ukrainian labour laws.
In a factsheet on the country, HALO notes: “Ukraine has seen the heaviest landmine and unexploded ordnance contamination in Europe since WW2, with an estimated 6.1 million people at risk.”
It estimates there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of actives mines in the country, and notes there have been more than 1,000 civilian casualties from mines there to date, and around 300 fatalities.
Because of social and economic roles, men and boys are more likely to be injured or killed by landmines. However, in some societies women and girls are expected to take on a caregiving role for survivors, or they may be taken out of school or married at an early age in response to the loss of a provider.
>men most likely to be killed and injured by landmines
>women most affected

Why did you reblog someone outright admitting that they don't care that Hamas are genocidal terrorists? Why did you feel the need to specifically declare that you don't care about terrorists killing the innocent if you can point to a bigger number and say "well, my thing's worse so there!" If that was how it worked, Gaza wouldn't matter at all because of Ukraine. 30,000's just a drop in the bucket compared to that clusterfuck.
You ignoring the history of Hamas, the oppression of the Palestinian People, and the actions by Israel tell me that you, like me, ignored much of the history in that area.
I recommend looking into Hamas. Look at what the hostages have said. Look at what the people who work with them say.
And then look at the western propaganda we are fed.
A freedom fighter group will never be perfect, despite the fact we want them to be, but comparing a group fighting for a people’s freedom to an army back by the largest western power of the world that actively kill civilians and aid workers is not fair.
War, as long as it exists, has unexpected casualties, and I don’t forgive any of them by the either side. However, they are not the same.
Hamas and Palestine have shown they want to survive. They are invaded. By all right that is should expect, you fight back against the invader and being in stolen land makes you a target whether they intend for you to be one or not.
Hamas recently launched 6 missles into Southern Israel. Do you know how many people were killed? None. How many casualties? None at the time I read. They are an invaded people, they can launch missles back.
Meanwhile Israel regularly kills journalists, civilians, CHILDREN with the intent of killing them. They don’t care. They are the invaders, and they have shown it’s not about defeating a military, it’s about wiping out humanity.
I ask you not treat them as equals, they aren’t.
I ask you look into their history more.
I ask you look into the propaganda you and I and everyone else was fed about them and Palestine as a whole.
We were lied to. It’s okay to admit. It’s okay to say we were fooled.
It’s not okay to refuse to learn, and refuse to be better.
And maybe, you still don’t believe me. And that hurts my heart, but me acting like I jumped on the reality right away would be a lie.
I simply ask you look, withhold your biases, and then make a decision without the pressure on you of “you have to make it right now”
Maybe you won’t agree with me, that will hurt me too. But, I tried, and that’s all I can do. Try, and see if I succeed.
Asalamu Alaikum

i like the idea of minato just getting INCREDIBLE amounts of leeway wrt tori just because he's 1. incredibly valuable as a ninja, 2. incredibly charismatic and well-liked, and 3. a touch of nepotism from being jiraiya's favorite student. tori HAS killed a few konoha ninja but based on geography i think she's aiming to get to a non fire country coast, so she just runs into fewer of them than other ninja. so konoha is just like: well, we should make note of whatever the fuck this situation is, but the pros of keeping minato happy outweigh the cons
and then he kills a thousand people for her. and konoha is like: oh, fuck
i think this backstory didn't make it into the snippet i posted, but in the original timeline:
Tori was not a very good student of history, but even she knew the story of how the Yellow Flash got his flee on sight order.  She did not know the exact date. She could not remember the names of any of the commanding shinobi involved. But the tale went like this: Iwa had a major camp in Grass Country, where they’d set up a prison. They managed to capture one of the Third Hokage’s sons, and Hiruzen had sent a team to negotiate his release. Publicly, Konoha wanted all prisoners released safely, but Iwa had understood this trade was about the son. At the first round of negotiations, they’d marched out half the prisoners and executed them right in front of the Konoha representative. This had been a “we mean business” message to get more concessions from Konoha, and maybe to humiliate them.  The Konoha representative had gone back to his own camp and written for help. Minato had been in the area and volunteered to go in. He’d snuck in in the dead of night, aiming to grab the prisoners and teleport them away. Iwa had anticipated this; they were waiting for him. A fight had broken out, an entire thousand-person camp of active shinobi versus one guy.  Minato had won.  So, in theory, Tori could just sit tight, and Minato would show up and rescue her.  But also in theory, Tori was the least politically important captive. Some of the prisoners Iwa had killed in front of the Konoha representative weren’t even Konoha. It was extremely likely that her head would be on the chopping block before Minato even realized she was here.  Why am I always this fucked? Tori wondered. It simply wasn’t fair. If she had no ninja friends, she ended up harassed and bullied like any civilian. If she had ninja friends, they were only there to leave her for dead.
so in th original timeline he did the same thing, but it was like a big hero moment for him from Konoha POV. In this timeline, it's a.... it's a "he will go off and do catastrophic things for his girlfriend" moment.
so i think it would be fun to play with, but i'm not sure what direction i want to take it in. like do i want him to be able to recover his konoha PR? does it affect the hokage situation? is konoha suddenly more interested in tori, or do they see this as an entire minato thing? did he just paint a huge target on her?

okay scrolling thru ur blog I'm genuinely curious, why do u not believe that what Israel is doing is genocide ? No hate intended, I'd love 2 hear what u have 2 say
I feel like I answered this like 8 times already, so sorry that this isn't gonna be as detailed and full of sources. I don't have the spoons for that I'm on 3 hours of sleep and no pain medication.
ok so Genocide is the mass murder of a group of people with the intention of wiping them out. Israel's intention in the war is not to wipe Palestine off the map, it's to wipe out Hamas (a terrorist organisation) and release the hostages.
they're not purposefully targeting civilians, and if their statistics is to be believed (which for an outsider should be about as credible as the Gaza Ministry of Health since that organisation is owned by Hamas), the combatant to civilian death ratio is about 1:1.5, which is not just insanely low in general, but insanely impressive for a war happening in such a densely populated area when Hamas are known to purposely hide in civilian areas and stop civilians from evacuating.
now if their statistics aren't to be believed, and Hamas' statistics were recently confirmed by the UN to also be bull, then the death ratio should still be somewhere in the middle, considering other countries at a regular war have a death ratio as high as 1:20, Israel's numbers are still more than enough to prove that not only are their numbers not consistent with what you'd expect a genocide to look like, but they're actively trying to reduce civilian casualties. again, this is an extremely densely populated area under the control of a terrorist organisation that is actively trying to put their lives at risk, ~35,000 deaths in 7 months (with supposedly about 15,000 of those being terrorists) is not what a genocide looks like.
I'm not in any way condoning what the IDF is doing, this doesn't erase any war crimes they and their soldiers have committed during this war, this is only about the use of the word "genocide" to describe the situation in Gaza.
people are still starving, people are still dying, people are still getting displaced and are denied entry to neighboring countries to evacuate, the only thing I am saying is that they're not being purposefully wiped out. you can look at all these horrific facts and care that it's happening without putting a shocking label on it, the only thing the word genocide contributes to the conflict is to paint Israel and their supporters as bloodthirsty fascists.

on moral equivalency
I've seen a lot of comments, most recently from one of the most well-intentioned people, listing hamas and hezbollah and the Israeli military all in one sentence as parts of the problem, and here is why that is not remotely okay or acceptable:
hamas and hezbollah are terrorist organizations that actively invaded civilians homes to torture, assault, murder, and abduct; who beheaded babies and paraded mutilated bodies through the streets and actively celebrate these atrocities.
the israeli military is the military of a sovereign country acting in what is a war situation, to counteract the threat of atrocities and war crimes being actively perpetrated by terrorist organizations, in order to restore safety to the citizenry.
and whether one is a pacifist who disagrees with the existence of militaries in general, or whether one disagrees with specific choices taken by the israeli military in particular, it is devastatingly misleading and unacceptable to phrase a sentence that makes it seem like accountability here is evenly divided between the israeli military, and the terrorists actively perpetrating AND CELEBRATING atrocities and war crimes against civilians.
and, with respect*, no matter anyone's perspective on the israeli government's attitude and actions toward palestinians, by no stretch of the imagination can those attitude and actions be described as war crimes, let alone gleeful celebration of war crimes.
there is a difference between "this is negative and i don't like it" and "these people are actively celebrating the mutilation of bodies, the torture of disabled, elderly, and children, the murder of hundreds including slaughtering an entire cohort of teens enjoying a concert as a holiday."
i respect not liking war and not liking militaries in general
but it's naive to be like "i don't like war and therefore the military that is responding in self-defense to the slaughter of hundreds of citizens and the wounding and abduction of hundreds more is also in the wrong."
there is doubtless nuance to every situation, but in this SPECIFIC case, statements that equate the two sides are misleading, insulting, and frankly dangerous inasmuch as they seem to offer some measure of justification to the actual war crimes being perpetrated and glorified on one side
all the things i alluded to are things that hamas has actually done, AND PUBLICIZED, in the past 72 hours.
right now, hundreds of people have literally been murdered in their homes by hamas, and hundreds of people have been literally dragged from their homes by hamas, assaulted, paraded through the streets, and abducted
including a good friend of my uncle, who is still missing.
i hope she returns home safely. i hope she is able to return to doing peace activist work.
but the israeli military ATTEMPTING TO ENSURE HER SAFE RETURN HOME is not part of the problem in this specific scenario.
in fact, when the IDF does operations to take out hamas targets, they actually notify the area through several methods in advance, and ask all civilians to go somewhere else where they will be safe.
whereas hamas has been known to store weapons in the basements of schools and to shoot rockets from hospitals, and to prevent civilians from leaving
*with respect to the very well-intentioned if naive person whose comment initially sparked me saying that; no respect at all to people who definitely know better and are still trying to frame this in moral equivalency terms on purpose

Ducking under a wild shot from a HYDRA agent’s blaster, you urged the cowering civilians across the street as you raised your arm and fired a return shot from the repulsor gauntlet on your left hand. One of them screamed as your pulse met with one of HYDRA’s jeeps, and the front of it exploded, sending enemy agents scrabbling for cover.
“Miss Y/L/N,” JARVIS said over the comms device in your ear, sounding almost apologetic at the interruption. You paused long enough to see Widow guide the civilians out of danger before you sprinted across the concourse, jumping and sliding over another car’s bonnet. You landed on your feet, punching a HYDRA gunner across the face, hard enough to knock him unconscious, before he could recover from the blast and mount another attack. “Mr. Stark would like a word.”
“Is he not busy enough right now?” you replied, blocking another agents fist with your forearm while firing another repulsor blast at his friend. You swung your arm around, firing another shot into the man’s stomach. You heard another repulsor fire somewhere above.
“He is being rather insistent, Miss.”
“When is he not?” you replied with a roll of your eyes as you heard the connection beep as another channel opened. “A little busy here at the moment, honey.”
“Have I mentioned how adorable it is when you use pet names while kicking ass?”
“Tony,” you replied exasperatedly, ducking automatically as you heard a blast go off overhead. A chunk of the wall ten feet to your left fell to the ground, setting off a nearby car alarm. “Are you seriously calling me right now?”
“We didn’t get to finish our conversation.” he said it as though you’d simply fallen into a bad cell area halfway through a phone call.
“And it couldn’t wait to continue until after everybody was done trying to kill us?” you asked. A HYDRA agent came slowly around the corner you were hiding behind, gun raised in the hopes of catching you off-guard. You punched him hard in the throat, his gun falling to clatter against the pavement. Kicking him in the stomach, you sent him sprawling to ground alongside it before he could regain his composure. “Maybe once we’re back in the States and not actively avoiding getting shot? Just a suggestion.”
You pressed down on the man’s throat with your boot as you picked up the fallen gun until he fell unconscious. Tony chuckled in your ear as you aimed the gun at an approaching Jeep and emptied the clip into its engine block. Ducking back behind the wall as it exploded, you winced at the sound of it.
“But you make it look so effortless,” he teased. “What you just did there? That was hot.”
“Keep it in your pants, Stark.” you replied dryly despite the hint of an amused smile threatening to color your features. “Not all of us have Stark Tech that extends beyond the elbow. So, some of us need to pay slightly more attention than others.”
“You want an upgrade; just say the word.” he offered despite already knowing your answer. You were far too claustrophobic to wear one of his suits of armor. “But in the meantime…”
You sighed, tossing the gun aside. Spotting another agent lining up a shot towards Steve – who was currently pulverizing a guy about forty feet ahead of you – you raised your gauntlet and fired. You turned away before the shot met its target, your bare hand moving to your ear and adjusting your comms’ volume. “Damn it, Tony. You’re exhausting.”
“I thought you liked that about me, sweetheart.” you could almost see that infuriatingly self-assured smirk of his.
“I’m hanging up now, honey.”
Your hair caught in the sudden wind as Tony blew past overhead. He banked left, coming to an abrupt stop as he fired repulsor blasts from both hands at the approaching soldiers. Rolling your eyes, you came to a stop as he flew down and landed in front of you, his helmet opening. His hair disheveled and his face flushed with the excitement of the battle, he smiled widely at you, the chaos apparently forgotten now he was with you.
“Hi.”
“Tony—”
He held up a hand, his eyes begging for patience. There was a strange mix of emotions on his face; that familiar blend of amusement and unwavering affection was warring with what you could almost swear were… nerves? “I just have one question, okay?”
“And it couldn’t wait until we were back on the jet?” your earlier exasperation dissipated with his expression. Your own nerves rose in your stomach, completely independent of the chaos around you.
The two of you had only been dating for a few months, and part of you had been relieved when your earlier conversation had been cut short. It scared you sometimes, how deeply you felt for him. Part of what had drawn you to him had been his reputation, as strange as that was. But his fabled proclivity for casual flings and one night stands had meant, in your mind, that you didn’t need to worry about getting too close. Or getting hurt.
But that famous sluttiness had apparently proven false, and despite your own reluctance for anything serious, the two of you had fallen into something akin to a relationship.
*             *             *
Leaning back against his chest, you smiled as you felt his arms wind around your waist, his hands clasping together in front of you. You turned your head to the side, pressing a kiss to the corner of his jaw. Tony smiled, catching your lips with his own.
“You know, eventually I will actually have to go home,” you pointed out as you parted, fingers sliding over his hands. Tony turned his hands under yours, interlacing your fingers idly. “Pretty sure I left a couple of dishes in the sink, and if they go unwashed much longer, they might gain sentience and rise up against us.”
“My God, you know just what to say to turn me on.” Tony joked, his lips brushing over your temple as you rested your head back against his shoulder. “Tell me more.”
“Oh, shut up.” you replied with a roll of your eyes. “Not all of us can afford a staff of twenty.”
“Twenty? Really?” Tony said thoughtfully. “I thought I had more than that.”
“Tony, don’t be gouache.”
He chuckled in your ear.
“Insulting me in French?” he asked, and you shivered as his teeth grazing the shell of your ear. One of his hands released yours, moving to skim teasingly over the sensitive skin between your thighs. “It’s like you’re trying to seduce me.”
“You can’t seriously be ready to go again already.” you said, a smile playing on your lips. You could still feel yourself tingling from what the two of you had just done, your body practically melted against his.
“Not quite…” he murmured, balling his fist between your thighs to force them further apart gently. You whined as he moved his hands to graze over your cunt. “But I can think of a few things to do in the meantime.”
“We so don’t have time for this, Tone.” you pointed out, pushing his hand away. You shied away from him as you felt his lips on your neck, and Tony pouted up at you as you stood. You collected your discarded clothes from where they’d fallen on the carpet, sorting through them for your underwear. “I really do need to go home. Even if it’s just to do laundry.”
“I actually had a thought about that.”
“About laundry?”
Tony smiled indulgently, reaching behind him to rescue your bra from where it was hanging over his headboard. He tossed it to you, and you caught it one-handed, swinging it onto your arms and clipping it behind your back in one fluid motion. “How do you manage to make getting dressed sexy?”
You smirked, shaking your head in amusement. “You should see me put on thigh-highs.”
“Ooh.” Tony grinned, his bottom lip catching between his teeth. “Yes, please.”
“Behave yourself, and you just might.”
“Yes, ma’am.” he gave you a teasing salute with two fingers before running his fingers through his hair, disheveling it further. “But before you so rudely distracted me—”
“Uh-huh.”
“I was talking about your living arrange—”
Your phone rang suddenly, and Tony sighed as you immediately snatched it up from the bedside table and swiped to answer. Old habits trained into you by years in the military and more in SHIELD were hard to break. “Y/L/N.”
*             *             *
“Tony…”
He held up a finger, his other hand rising to fire another repulsor blast without his eyes leaving your own. There was a small explosion as it met its target, but neither of you flinched. “Let me just get it out before we get distracted again. Please.”
Trying to ignore the insecurities bubbling inside you, you raised a brow. “This isn’t distracting enough?”
“This?” he asked, an almost amused smirk touching his lips. “This is basically an average Tuesday for the two of us.”
“Fair point,” you agreed, leaning to the side and firing a repulsor of your own under his still-raised arm. It met its target, and you straightened again. “But we probably shouldn’t be standing out in the open like this. We should—"
“Move in with me.”
You stopped short, shock forcing the words to die on your lips. Instead, you blinked, the confused beginnings of a laugh bubbling out of you. “What?”
Tony shrugged as though nonchalant, but you could see that same uncertainty in his eyes. That same earnestness. “Move in with me. Into the Tower.”
“Tone—”
“You practically live there already, and you have to admit, my digs are a whole lot better than yours.” he said. “No angry neighbors that make the whole building smell like soup, for one.”
“Tony.”
“Or at least, none that make it smell like soup. Romanoff tends to be a little snippy whenever she visits—”
“Stark, I swear to God, if you don’t let me talk soon, I’m going to—” you ducked automatically at the sudden sound of gunfire, turning in the same motion. The two of you fired repulsors at the same time, and the approaching Jeep’s engine exploded. You straightened slowly, meeting his eye again as you blew wayward hair out of your face. “You’re serious?”
“As I ever am.”
When you raised a brow, he reached up, the cold metal of his gauntlet brushing against your cheek as he tucked the hair behind your ear.
“I’m serious, sweetheart. Move in with me. I kind of like having you around.”
You chuckled, shaking your head in amusement. And, despite your better judgement, despite everything in your past that reminded you that attachments were a bad idea, you said: “Well, how could I resist a line as romantic as that?”
Tony broke into a wide, dazzling grin that made your heart swell in your chest in a way that both thrilled and terrified you. You felt his hand on your hip and—
“This is really cute and all, but I swear, if you two kiss right now, I’m going to shoot you myself.”
You jumped at the sudden intrusion of Natasha’s voice in your ear, and you set a glare on Tony. You would have thumped him in the arm if it wasn’t for the armor. “You didn’t open a private channel?”
“We’re in the middle of a fight,” he said, giddy smile still firmly in place. “Wouldn’t want you to get distracted.”
“Are you kidding, Widow?” Clint chimed in from his position above. “I’m just impressed we finally saw a crack in that stoic armor of Y/L/N’s. It’s been, what, two years? And I think I’ve seen them smile twice.”
“Three times.” Steve corrected, amusement of his own coloring what was clearly supposed to be annoyance at the distraction. “There was that time you fell down the stairs.”
“One step! I missed one step!”
“And it was hilarious.” you said, pointedly deadpan. “Don’t we have a job to do?”
“Oh, no, Y/N.” Clint replied. “You can’t go back to that block-of-granite-exterior now that we’ve seen your soft and gooey marshmallow center…”
“What kind of statue are you inventing?”
“…You’re just a big softie. There’s no denying it.”
“Yeah?” you said. “You want to come down here and test that theory out?”
“…No.”
“Alright, team, focus up.” Steve interjected, his voice far more commanding than before. It was enough for you to stop from shooting back another comment. “Civilians are clear. We need to take out the command center two blocks east.”
You muted your end of the comms after confirming, meeting Tony’s eye. “You’re such a dick, Stark.”
“All part of my charm,” he replied, still annoyingly proud. He leaned in to steal a quick kiss, his nose bumping against yours briefly as you parted. “Tell you what, you can teach me a lesson when we get home.”
You smirked, shouting after him as his helmet snapped shut and he rose into the air. “Count on it!”

Tumblr won't turn the URL into a link card for whatever reason, so, here's a Washington Post article about Israel using white phosphorus in Lebanon. Some key points here, full text under the cut:
White phosphorus is technically legal when used to obscure military activities and at a distance from civilians. In this case it was directly targeted at homes in Dheira, a village near the Lebanese border with Israel. 4 homes were incinerated and 9 people injured in this particular attack on 10/16. Residents have been displaced.
Amnesty International has called for this to be treated as a war crime.
The white phosphorus munitions are US-made according to unnamed weapons experts, Amnesty International, and the Post itself. They appear to have been manufactured in 1989 and 1992. The Biden administration claims not to have included white phosphorus in arms transfers to Israel since 10/7.
The IDF claims these were used to create obscuring smoke and not to target civilians; they possess safer munitions that would do the same thing without contaminating bodies, soil, and buildings, but did not use those.
A part that deserves highlighting in full: "Israeli forces continued to shell the town with white phosphorus munitions for hours, residents said, trapping them in their homes until they could escape around 7 a.m. the next morning. Residents now refer to the attack as the 'black night.' Most fled the town when the shelling stopped, returning during a week-long pause in fighting and leaving again when it resumed. Uday Abu Sari, a 29-year-old farmer, said in an interview that he was trapped in his home for five hours during the shelling and was unable to breathe because of the smoke. He suffered respiratory problems for days after the attack. 'Emergency services told us to put something that was soaked in water on our faces, which helped a bit. I couldn’t see my finger in front of my face,' he said. 'The whole village became white.'"
"White phosphorus fell onto several homes and ignited fires, incinerating furniture and stripping appliances to scorched metal. Remnants of the sticky, black chemical littered the ground 40 days after the attack and combusted when residents kicked at it."
US officials, as usual, expressed "concern" and an intention to "learn more," which of course means nothing.
As a reminder, this is not a unique attack on Lebanese soil since the slaughter started. "Israel has used the munition more than 60 times in Lebanon’s border areas in the past two months, according to data collected by ACLED, a group that monitors war zones. Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Dec. 2 that Israel’s use of the munition has 'killed civilians and produced irreversible damage to more than 5 million square meters of forests and farmland, in addition to damaging thousands of olive trees.'"

DHEIRA, Lebanon — Israel used U.S.-supplied white phosphorus munitions in an October attack in southern Lebanon that injured at least nine civilians in what a rights group says should be investigated as a war crime, according to a Washington Post analysis of shell fragments found in a small village.
A journalist working for The Post found remnants of three 155-millimeter artillery rounds fired into Dheira, near the border of Israel, which incinerated at least four homes, residents said. The rounds, which eject felt wedges saturated with white phosphorous that burns at high temperatures, produce billowing smoke to obscure troop movements as it falls haphazardly over a wide area. Its contents can stick to skin, causing potentially fatal burns and respiratory damage, and its use near civilian areas could be prohibited under international humanitarian law.
Of the nine injured in Israel’s attack on Dheira, at least three were hospitalized, one for days.
Lot production codes found on the shells match the nomenclature used by the U.S. military to categorize domestically produced munitions, which show they were made by ammunition depots in Louisiana and Arkansas in 1989 and 1992. The light green color and other markings — like “WP” printed on one of the remnants — are consistent with white phosphorous rounds, according to arms experts.
The M825 smoke rounds, fired from 155mm howitzers, have legitimate use on the battlefield, including signaling friendly troops, marking targets and producing white smoke that conceals soldiers from the eyes of enemy forces. The rounds are not intended for use as incendiary weapons.
The weapons are part of billions of dollars in U.S. military arms that flow to Israel every year, which has fueled Israel’s war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip, launched after the militants attacked on Oct. 7. At least 17,700 people, many of them civilians, have been killed since the Israeli operation began, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
Following publication of this story, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Monday the administration is “concerned” about the use of white phosphorous munitions and that they would be “asking questions to try to learn a bit more.”
Tensions along Lebanon’s southern border between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed militia, have boiled over from a simmer to near-daily exchanges of fire in the weeks since Oct. 7.
Dheira, a town of 2,000, has become a focal point for fighting. Just across the border from an Israeli radar tower, it has been used as a staging ground for Hezbollah’s attacks against Israel. At least 94 people have been killed on the Lebanese side of the border since tensions escalated, according to data released on Dec. 5 by the Health Ministry — 82 have been militants, according to Hezbollah. In addition, at least 11 Israelis have been killed, most of them soldiers.
Photos and videos verified by Amnesty International and reviewed by The Post show the characteristic ribbons of white phosphorus smoke falling over Dheira on Oct. 16.
Israeli forces continued to shell the town with white phosphorus munitions for hours, residents said, trapping them in their homes until they could escape around 7 a.m. the next morning. Residents now refer to the attack as the “black night.”
Most fled the town when the shelling stopped, returning during a week-long pause in fighting and leaving again when it resumed.
Uday Abu Sari, a 29-year-old farmer, said in an interview that he was trapped in his home for five hours during the shelling and was unable to breathe because of the smoke. He suffered respiratory problems for days after the attack.
“Emergency services told us to put something that was soaked in water on our faces, which helped a bit. I couldn’t see my finger in front of my face,” he said. “The whole village became white.”
White phosphorus ignites when in contact with oxygen and burns at temperatures up to 1,500 degrees, which can cause severe injuries. The chemicals left in the body can damage to internal organs, sometimes fatally, according to a Human Rights Watch report.
It is unclear why the Israeli military fired the rounds into the evening, as smoke would have little practical use at night and there were no Israeli troops on the Lebanese side of the border to mask with smokescreens. Residents speculated that the phosphorus was meant to displace them from the village and to clear the way for future Israeli military activity in the area.
In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces wrote that white phosphorous shells launched by Israel are used to create smokescreens, not for targeting or causing fires. It said its use of the weapon “complies and goes beyond the requirements of international law.”
Israeli forces possess safer alternatives, such as M150 artillery rounds, which produce screening smoke without the use of white phosphorous.
The U.S. origin of the shells was verified by Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. The same manufacturing codes also appear on white phosphorus shells lined up next to Israeli artillery by the city of Sderot, near the Gaza Strip, in an Oct. 9 photo.
The United States is under an obligation to track the behavior of its partners and allies who receive its assistance in order to comply with U.S. law, humanitarian law experts said. The use of white phosphorus smoke is permitted if used for legitimate military operations, but like other weapons, its misuse can violate laws of armed conflict. Rights groups have warned its use should be restricted around civilians because fire and smoke can be spread to populated areas.
“The fact that U.S.-produced white phosphorus is being used by Israel in south Lebanon should be of great concern to U.S. officials,” Tirana Hassan, the executive director of Human Rights Watch, wrote in an email. “[Congress] should take reports of Israel’s use of white phosphorus seriously enough to reassess U.S. military aid to Israel.”
The United States is not conducting real-time assessments of Israel’s adherence to the laws of war, Biden administration officials said.
“Anytime that we provide items like white phosphorous to another military, it is with a full expectation that it’ll be used in keeping with...legitimate purposes and in keeping with the law of armed conflict,” Kirby said.
It is unclear when the United States delivered the munitions to Israel. The U.S. has not provided white phosphorous munitions to Israel since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack, Pentagon spokesman Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder told reporters Monday.
“When it comes to our relationship with Israel, we’ll continue to communicate to them the importance of mitigating civilian harm,” Ryder said, adding that the department could not yet verify the weapons were from U.S. stocks.
White phosphorus fell onto several homes and ignited fires, incinerating furniture and stripping appliances to scorched metal. Remnants of the sticky, black chemical littered the ground 40 days after the attack and combusted when residents kicked at it.
In 2009, Human Rights Watch documented Israel’s use of U.S.-made white phosphorus munitions in violation of international law in its 22-day offensive in Gaza. At least one of the shells found by The Post in Dheira was from the same batch of white phosphorus used by Israel in 2009, according to lot production codes.
In 2013, the Israeli military pledged to stop using white phosphorus on the battlefield, saying it would transition to gas-based smoke shells.
Israel has used the munition more than 60 times in Lebanon’s border areas in the past two months, according to data collected by ACLED, a group that monitors war zones. Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Dec. 2 that Israel’s use of the munition has “killed civilians and produced irreversible damage to more than 5 million square meters of forests and farmland, in addition to damaging thousands of olive trees.”
Tyler Pager aboard Air Force One, Missy Ryan in Washington and Mohamad El Chamaa in Beirut contributed to this report.

Update post:
During the night, a suspicious aerial object fell inside Israel, a little north of our most southern city, Eilat. At the same time, a senior in the Iran-funded Yemenite terrorist organization referred to as the Houthis, who have targeted Eilat before, posted on his Twitter account on Mar 15, in both Arabic and Hebrew, "month of Jihad." They're not officially taking responsibility for having fired a rocket at our civilians (on top of their on going attacks against global shipping), but they're doing the closest thing to this that they can.
Tumblr media
On Saturday, the Jewish day of rest, a Palestinian terrorist had entered a Muslim cemetery in Hebron, and started shooting from it at the Jewish neighborhood of the city. The terrorist was eliminated. He turned out to be an Imam at a local mosque, and a member of Hamas. According to a TV reporter, the terrorist missed by just mere inches a boy who was passing on the street. During and after this terrorist attack, the Jewish residents (much like in other terrorist attacks on Jewish communities, including this recent attempted stabbing attack) were asked to lock themselves in until the IDF is done searching the area, to make sure there aren't additional terrorists still lurking about. The next time that you see anti-Israel propaganda posts about cemeteries, please remember that if Islamists don't respect their own burial sites and the Muslims buried there enough to avoid using these places as grounds for terrorist activity, Israelis certainly are not going to place those cemeteries above defending living Jews.
Following intel that Hamas terrorists have once again taken shelter in the Shifa hospital in Gaza City, and using it as a base for their opereations, IDF troops have entered it, killed several terrorists and arrested 80 others. Again, people who don't want hospitals raided by armed forces, shouldn't use those as a base for terrorist activity. And I have to point out (because I've seen this misconstrued) that hospitals do lose their protection under International Humanitarian Law (IHL) when they are used by militants: "The protection to which fixed medical establishments and mobile medical units are entitled shall not cease unless they are being used to commit acts, outside their humanitarian duties, that are harmful to the enemy." It IS a war crime for terrorists to use a hospital this way. It is NOT a war crime, for a defending army to raid a hospital being used by terrorists, in order to protect its own civilian population from those terrorists.
Tumblr media
During the raid on the hospital, an Israeli soldier was killed, 20 years old Matan Vinogradov from Jerusalem. Matan is the 250th IDF soldier to be killed during the fighting in Gaza. May his and their memory be a blessing.
Tumblr media
I found Hebrew journalistic sources with pics, reporting on a man who came on March 15 to a pro-Israel protest in Washington with a burner (an actual burner, not a disposable phone), used it to threaten the protesters, and was arrested. I can't find an online English source, because every search I tried to do, gets drowned in how many anti-Israel protesters have been arrested. I don't think I ever feel the gap between what Israelis hear and know, and what the rest of the world does, more than in moments like these, when I can't find a single English source for info that was all over the national news on TV here.
Tumblr media
Another one that I can find only in Hebrew news tweets and articles: UNRWA's offices in Jerusalem are seeing a protest from dozens of Israeli demonstrators, who are accusing the UN agency for its complicity in the Hamas massacre. Zaka (whose body bags were used in this demonstration) is the NGO responsible for handling bodies and collecting body parts after Palestinian terrorist attacks against Israelis, including on Oct 7. The protesters said that even though UNRWA has been denounced, it still continues to "operate normally, with its employees continuing their work as they always do, in the building they got for free from the Israeli government."

Did the following vid, about an Iranian American (non-Jewish) artist making a joint mural for Jews, Israelis and Iranians as an inspiration and dedication to all Middle Eastern women, make me cry? Yes, it did. So I'm sharing it.

This is 20 years old Daniel Peretz.
Tumblr media
He was born in South Africa (where most of the Jewish community is descended from Eastern European Jews, who were fleeing pogroms), and his family made aliyah when he was 13 years old. He loved sports and hiking, and people talked he would always happily lend others a helping hand. Yesterday, we got the news that the IDF has collected enough findings to determine that he had been murdered by Hamas on Oct 7, and his body is held hostage in Gaza. An IDF rabbi has determined that among the findings, there is enough to hold a funeral, so IDK for sure, but I can guess this means body parts. The funeral is scheduled for today. For those keeping track, what we currently know is that there are 134 Israelis kept captive in Gaza, and at most, 99 of them are still alive. May Daniel's memory be a blessing.
