At the ripe age of 23, Jungkook finally presented as an alpha. When it all started, he thought he knew what to expect, based on what he'd heard from other alphas. When a few days after his initial symptoms, he started showing signs that pointed towards a rut—he was secretly elated. He had nothing against being an omega—he even thought it kind of suited him sometimes. All he wanted though, was an easy presentation. He had faith that he was going to walk out of this with a new great sense of smell and a few quirks.

Of course, thanks to his luck, it was everything but a breeze.

Rose Petals & Fairy Lights

Jungkook was standing in Namjoon’s apartment. Everything was already set up and perfect. There was a trail of rose petals that led to the bedroom. He had even taken the time to make a heart of the petals on Namjoon’s bed. Candles were placed all around the apartment, providing the only source of ambient lighting. The mood was just right – romantic in a way that he knew would make his boyfriend melt.

Dinner was already done and arranged on the dining room table. He had spent the last hour bent over Namjoon’s stove making sure each dish was perfect. The table was now set with steaming plates and a vase full of more roses. A bottle of his boyfriend’s favorite red wine was ready to be poured and Jungkook had painstakingly researched to make sure it would pair perfectly with the meal.

All he needed was for his boyfriend to get home from work, which should be any minute now
