Bc why not, the muses are awesome. Also! Just a quick refresher bc I know not everyone is insane and has all the muses memorized.

Erato: Muse of Erotic Poetry

Polyhymnia: Muse of Religious Hymns

Urania: Muse of Astronomy

Calliope: Muse of Epic Poetry

I know that Hesiod said they were daughters of Zeus but you know what I say? I say NO. I instead listen to what some other poets said, which is that the muses are very powerful nymphs that burst forth from sacred streams. I like to think this happened like five months before Apollo was born, and everyone was very confused about these nymphs that seemed to have control over domains that no one else really had any claim over, and then Apollo was born and everyone was like “ohhh that makes sense, yeah.” In a way, they prophesized Apollo’s domains (haha get it, cuz he's the god of prophecy, I’m a genius guys i’m a comedic geni-)

Thalia and Melpomine argue about everything, but they’re also inseparable. You’ll often find them discussing heroes' stories and debating whether or not their lives should take a comedic or tragic turn. 

Calliope doesn’t just write epic poetry. No, she also appraises weapons and artifacts of bygone myths with Clio, maps out constellations with Urania, and watches over upcoming epic heroes with Apollo. She’s really the jack-of-all-trades of the group.

Soprano: Eutyrpe, Thalia Mezzo-Soprano: Terpsichore, Calliope, Erato Alto: Clio, Polyhymnia Contralto: Melpomine, Urania

(Obviously they can sing all the notes but this is like, their preferences when it comes to harmonizing) 

Eutyrpe and Terpsichore love to have mini shows, with Eutyrpe performing any new lyrics she’s cooked up and Terpsichore improvising dances to her songs. 

Clio’s kind of the unofficial leader of the muses. Like, Apollo is the official leader, but whenever he’s out of town Clio’s in charge. 

Whenever Apollo makes a new poem, he shows it to whoever’s sphere it falls into first, and then Urania, bc Urania just loves reading poetry and her praise will heal the bruised ego he might have if the first draft was not approved. 

 Whenever Urania makes a new constellation, the whole group has an overnight star-watching session, where they reminisce on old heroes and make smores. 

Polyhymnia and Erato actually have a lot of overlap. Especially because Polyhymnia was making religious hymns for greek gods and, well, you know how greek gods are. This is why Erato is the only one not surprised by Polyhymnia’s dirty jokes. The other sisters think Polyhymnia is “too pure”

Apollo has been with all of the muses, but it’s honestly more of a queer-platonic sort of thing (and/or a friends with benefits situation) he has a very fluid way of showing affection with all of them, since they’ve been some of his closest companions throughout his life. Also, the ten of them have single-handedly made it through the equivalent of thousands, if not tens of thousands of tech weeks together, and I don’t think anything could bond people together more than that.

Because the next part of this isn't where I want it to be yet due to packing and schooling, I'm going to post some (more) of my headcanons!

• The Hermes cabin treats all unclaimed demigods as their own siblings even after they get claimed (depending on how fast they get claimed).

• The year-round demigods are closer with each other, but during summer they tend to spend more time with the other campers more. The bonds they have are a bit obvious though.

• Travis and Connor Stoll have a running prank of convincing all new demigods that they're twins (at least until Travis leaves.)

• During Nico's brief stay at camp in The Titan's Curse, he made friends with the Stolls and a few other campers. (Canonically he met Will, but I did hc they met before it was confirmed.)

• The Ares campers are the best at every weapon, except bows. Some Apollo kids (Michael Yew included) take full advantage of bringing this up. When Sherman Yang brought up Will's less than proficient bow skills, Clarisse had Sherman apologize.

• Chiron teaches the year-rounders using Ancient Greek textbooks + books and myths, so they can understand the material easier.

• When Jason shows up, some people have to pay up because there were bets made on which of the Big 3 would have another secret demigod, when Hazel came more drachmas were exchanged to the Apollo cabin. (Drew: "How the Hades did you guess Hades would have another secret child!?" Will: "I mean, technically, it was Pluto?")

• After Beckendorf's death, the Hephaestus cabin seemed to dull until Leo showed up. He reminded them a lot of Beckendorf and yet was so different (starting with height).

• The Demeter kids hate the winter months and prefer spring and summer.

Sorta getting those ship thoughts rn thinking of ship scenarios. Theres one Krisnix scenario I think of that happens like, specifically near the end of the 7yg. Like I think there had have to have been a situation where Phoenix enters Gavin law offices(against Kristophs wishes) and just sees Apollo and/or some random receptionist behind a desk. I think either would be shocked to see Phoenix there he just goes up and asks where Kristoph is and they point to his office with a comically shocked face. Then he goes in where Kristoph sorta just goes “Phoenix what the fuck did you do” with some freaked out look while Phoenix walks up to his desk to look at all his expensive fountain pens. Then I think Phoenix just sorta mumbles the most incoherent thing and grabs Kristophs face(jaw?). But with the most. blank expression. Then they just stare at each other, like they love each other(but also definitely want to gouge each others eyes out). Again, they probably love each other but really weirdly. Meanwhile, Apollo/maybe some receptionist are just at the door trying to listen to as much as they can(they both kinda know that they know they’re listening in). Anyways Kristoph would sorta snap back into a nice superficial voice, loudly thanking Phoenix for coming and to “Leave this for later tonight��� and to “Dont hesitate to call me!”. Phoenix just sorta laughs while taking those pens with him(to which Kristoph sneers at him for). As he walks out of his office he’d probably say something all gruff nd over his shoulder like “Thanks Kris, I’ll see you tonight”. They’ll definitely see each other tonight at the Borscht bowl club but it’ll just be less tense and more bitter. I think they’re just funny like that

Sky AU again!

Jason is the Angel who falls off the sky into the sea and Percy is the Sea Prince that saves him. Jason lost his memories so Percy resolves to keep him. They strike a peculiar friendship that quickly turns into something more.

So that's why when Nico, the embodiment of Night that travels all corners of the world he is, comes and asks Percy about a certain lost Angel who is precious to Heaven and thus needs to be brought back, Percy lies and hides Jason away from him. No matter how much devastated Nico seems to be.

Jason loves the Ocean. Memories lost, yet he still faintly remembers how much he had wanted to see this beautiful landscape. And Percy's nice, a refreshing breath that captivates his heart. He loves it here.

So that's why even though he feels like he should talk to the dark and small new guest, he still turns away, to Percy, who tells him they can spend the next day somewhere far away from the palace - a place no one would know but them. And it feels free when there's no one but them.

Aka: a fairy tale in which the Mermaid falls into the Prince's arms and he keeps her away from the Witch and everyone who might try to take her away from him.

Apollo and Wicker are dead.

Despite this, their magic lingers- the fairy circle is made of cobblestone, moss, and calcite, the few candles dotted around still burning despite the wither and the wind, glowing a faint blue. It's vex magic, faerie magic. Maybe a little bit of creepy talking scarecrow magic too.

It doesn't matter. Ides sits in the faerie circle, his back resting on a barrel, his sword in hand. Surely if its magic were dangerous it would have done something by now.

"I already checked the barrel," Hermes says to Jayce, who hums in return. The ranch is quiet, the wither moved on. Jayce pokes around the vines, shifts the cobbles, searching for something. Hermes leans back against one of the rocks, tick's hands clenching and unclenching.

Jayce stands and dusts off his pants. "I'm going to loot their chests."

"Alright."

"Have fun," Hermes calls after them. Tocks eyes meet Ides', and tick comes to sit next to him. "Hi, Ides."

"Hi," Ides answers, letting out a breath. Having Hermes pressed against him is more comforting than he thought it'd be. Tock is alive. That's all he needs to know right now. He wraps an arm around tick.

"Do you think we'll win?" Hermes asks, laying tocks head on Ides' shoulder.

"Yeah," Ides answers, resting his head on top of ticks, "we will."

hey @greentrickster guess who's brain has been consumed by this two/three year old AU for the last few weeks (the post that started it was made on September 3rd 2019, but the first tagged post wasn't until that October, so. 2-3 years old)

there's more than this but this is the colored stuff and one passing thought (last image) that I latched onto HARD because the idea of Nahyuta and Klavier meeting by chance at like. 1 AM because the Gavinners want food and Burger Barn is open late and Nahyuta really needs to not fail his stupid final so Klavier helps is really funny to me for some reason. mostly because nahyuta has no idea who this guy is outside of "he knows calculus and his friends are sort of loud" (and it may or may not have been uploaded online with the caption of "this is the good luck gavin, reblog for good luck on your finals")

also! Apollo in color! I still don't know if I like the red or blue for the vest part more but I think keeping the sleeves pure white save for MAYBE metallic bands or something around where the bell part stars is better that faint colors...
