Chapters: 21/? Fandom: Supernatural (TV 2005) Rating: Explicit Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Castiel/Dean Winchester Summary: Dean Winchester hates everything except writing, and after five extremely unfortunate bestselling Vatican-approved Catholic erotica novels, he's starting to hate that. After a couple of lawsuits and one North American book tour, he stops for the summer in Absofuckinglutely Nowhere, Newfoundland on a 6-month visa to try and pump out a final book in the series, and try to find a little room to breathe.
Father Thursday, by contrast, doesn't hate anything; not even really God anymore.
****
Guys, this fic. I am OBSESSED.
It’s a WIP, but updating pretty regularly, and it’s really got everything: Dean and Cas are both recognisable as the Dean and Cas we all love in all their beautiful, well-intentioned but fucked up glory, but they are also totally convincing in the AU. and it’s really quite gentle, sweet and VERY sexy, and just about to ramp up into some truly satisfying, lovingly deployed slapping, and who needs that more than Dean?He positively ACHES to be slapped! Plus, what a hook! Vatican-approved priest porn novelist meets a sexy priest in BFE Canada? Yes, please!
It also does a really interesting and effective thing with canon in that all the crazy shit that happened when Sam and Dean were growing up happened, but Mary died in an accident, there is no Supernatural threat, and John was simply mentally ill, and seen from that perspective, the abuse Dean suffered as a child feels so much more real and inexcusable. And man... I cannot wait for more of Cas’s backstory!
It’s well-written, genuinely compelling so super sexy. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thanks, @mythopoetry! I seriously count the minutes until the next instalment.

Some proof that there ARE elected officials out there, like Vice Mayor Sean Cummings in Oklahoma, who are standing up for LGBTQ+ youth like Nex Benedict and calling out the fact that our words and rhetoric DO matter.
[Context: In this video, Sean Cummings is seen speaking to Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters referring to the death of student Nex Benedict].

Don't look away from us. Don't ignore the Oklahoman queer community. Don't ignore the indigiqueer community. Don't forget Nex Benedict and the future they should have been entitled to.

Absolutely evil beyond words. When asked about the murder of Nex Benedict here is how the state's senator responds, calling them filth that needs to be kept out of the state, while audience member's cheer.
Tumblr media
These monsters not only don't care that a child was murdered because of their hatred, they outright celebrate it. Christian's are soulless monsters, when are we gonna get the chance to vote to strip their right to exist away from them, like they do to us? Why do we allow these hate filled cultists to have power in the government and spread their murderous hatred.
This is why the school never called an ambulance for Nex instead just suspending them, this is why the coroner and police are currently trying to cover up the murder, because the whole goddamn system is working exactly as they intended, accomplishing their goals of murdering us and getting away with it.

THE HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN IS REQUESTING A FEDERAL INVESTIGATION INTO NEX BENEDICT'S DEATH
Tumblr media
(full official request by HRC president Kelley Robinson)
this request is also being backed by Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.), and Nex's death has been acknowledged by Kamala Harris on Twitter
I really, really hope that these increasingly public calls for justice in Nex Benedict's assault and death lead to more action... this tragedy has finally recieved coverage in publications like USA Today, CNN, NBC, and even The New York Times
keep talking about this, please!!
EDIT: PLEASE STOP USING "SAY THEIR NAME" WHEN TALKING ABOUT NEX BENEDICT.
#SayHerName was started back in 2014 SPECIFICALLY FOR VICTIMS OF ANTI-BLACK RACISM / HATE CRIMES / MURDER. using it for Nex, who is non-black, is appropriation and co-opting a movement.
keep demanding accountability for their death, but don't use "say their name" to do so.

as a teacher, reading about nex makes me fucking furious because I've seen that hate in the students I've taught. people who say young people aren't bigoted and once the old fucks die off the world will be perfect have no idea how cruel children can be when influenced by society's bigotry. while working with 8th grade, i had multiple situations of children harassing lgbt students, screaming slurs at black students, and mocking disabled, especially autistic, students. i was misgendered and degendered by these kids daily without them even knowing i was trans or gay, just that i was a feminine man. i had to dress hyper-masculine to have a smidgen of respect, and god forbid i let my disability show.
but what sticks with me the most when thinking about nex is when i had to intervene when a child proudly announced that she would murder her baby if they were trans (specifically nonbinary) because nb people were freaks, fully aware the person sitting next to her was trans. when i tried to intervene, i was disciplined because i was 'teaching my personal politics'.
this is what our schools look like. when people say they cant believe these girls could do this, i shake my head because, to me, it's no wonder nex is no longer with us. nex was a child with intersecting minority identities. our society is cruel and bigoted, and it is influencing our children. we HAVE to fix society because until we do, kids will stay cruel and kids will keep dying

I really hope this reaches more people, I'm only reposting this information from Instagram, the least that I can do. (Update: I changed their upbringing as it appears to have been listed wrong) Wiki page
When I just saw this information I couldn't stop crying thinking about it, and now my heart aches. They were the same age as me, I know for a fact like any other teen they dreamt of their future, who they would want to become, what to achieve, create, wondering if they meet those in the future they can call friends, wondeting if it'll get better when they grow up, maybe wished to leave that terrible place or maybe wanted to stay. How could anyone let this happen, why were they discharged from hospital so easily? And the school, we all know why. I hate to think about how, even with all the progress made, these things still happen.
"murdered schoolgirl Brianna Ghey on February 16, 2023. Candlelit vigils are being held across the UK this week for Brianna Ghey, 16, who was stabbed at Linear Park in Culcheth, Cheshire last Saturday. Brianna was a transgender girl and police are now investigating her killing as a hate crime. A boy and girl, both 15, have been charged with her murder"
An article that explains trans hate crime murders as on 2023
I hate everyone who have ever committed such vile hate crimes, I wish them in prison and hell. But i would never go down to their level. But I also blame the government, the school, and even those bigoted online accounts that teach their followers hate. In this case LibsOfTikTok, who targeted the teacher of this school, who supports lgbtq+, so they had to leave their position. It must have been the push for this to happen. I think their tiktok account has been thankfully deleten. But i have no idea about Twitter or any other. Please check and mass report them if it still exists. (Link to Instagram reel that this information is from)
ADDITION, PLEASE MASS REPORT THESE ACCOUNTS

Nex Benedict's death wasn't just for being transgender, it was for being native too. 2 Spirits are revered in many native cultures and it is a native-specific identity. This wasn't just a hate crime against trans & NB individuals, this was also a hate crime against Natives of Turtle Island.
You cannot separate Nex's trans identity from their native identity - this is a case of MMIWG2S (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2 Spirits).
Native children being killed at school is nothing new, so it's equally important to talk about Nex's native identity and being intersectional, this is a devastating tragedy for indigenous people, the queer community & especially those of us who are both indigenous and queer.
May Nex rest in peace 🪶
