im sure most of us know this but modern!Sebastian would be an absolute menace during any public outing.

in a tour of a museum/landmark, corrects the tour guide on the history.

at a zoo, sneaks into the tiger habitat cause he's slick and ciel has to decide whether to leave or get him out.

at the aquarium, is disappointed because sea lions are a lot more like sea dogs and makes it everyone's problem.

at the fair, wins every game and therefore makes some children cry. also does not allow anyone in the household to buy any of the food there.

at a picnic, yells at anyone's dog who gets too close.

eventually Sebastian has to just guilt trip Ciel into having more family trips because he really doesn't wanna go otherwise.

This isn’t canon what so ever, but I think it would be cute if Rachel was an artist, like I can imagine her drawing lil pictures of her family like that real life Victorian artist lady I can’t remember the name of, and sketching things in bed when she was sick.

I do absolutely headcanon that she was bohemian for an upper class lady of her time, like decorating the manor with flowers when planning a party, loving the outdoors even if she wasn’t able to go out too often because of her asthma, and the explanation for the twin’s non-traditional names since Vincent said she named them. Hmm... Victorian crunchy mom...

ohhhh you are so so so kind to me okay

gonna stick mostly w modern day headcanons bc I’ve covered a lot of my canon era headcanons in my fic so

- his music taste varies WILDLY. he listens to a lot of female rap artists but he is a doja stan till the end, hes also big on kacey musgraves, glamrock music, and for childhood sentimentality (and also Bc her music fucks) lorde. he’s not much for pop punk but likes the occasional paramore, and enjoys Sidney Gish quite a bit !

- he has no active opinion on taylor swift (except light disdain) but will clown on ciel until the day he dies for liking her music. he respects reputation era bc he thinks its camp (and he’s right) (but he does secretly really like don’t blame me)

- following up on the lorde thing, ‘the love club’ is SUCH an alois song To Me. listen to it and join me in understanding

- okay enough about music, he is very into the y2k trend. he is a menace on thrift stores for this reason. (ciel will not touch him when he’s wearing thrifted clothes until they’ve been washed at least 5 times). his other style inspo is Harley Quinn in birds of prey. you know that one outfit? w the pink top and the caution tape jacket? that’s how he dresses

- he gets a strong following on tiktok when he’s a bit too young to, and after processing a lot of the shit in his life, quits social media entirely for a year or so, and eventually returns with a well-curated instagram and an occasional youtube where he makes longer-form content (gothic novel reviews, rants about shitty YA books, hauls and try-one, videos where he drags in Lizzie — popular in her own right — and Ciel — literally no non-business online presence — to play video/card games w him). his youtube doesn’t do a tenth of the numbers his tiktoks did but he’s happy enough !

- he actually Can drive! he is not good at it by any means, and is as aggressive as any jersey driver, and has absolutely terrible road rage, but ciel refuses to get a license and lizzie is a bit inattentive, so alois is often the one driving

- Lizzie and Alois besties in every single universe. concept for a modern au where Lizzie and Ciel share an apartment in college and Lizzie brings home her new friend she met at the doja cat concert and oh fuck it’s that guy who tried to kill me when we were 13.

- alois gets a rescue pitbull as an esa and her name is peaches. he takes some warming up to the amount of clean up (and dog slobber) but eventually comes to love that dog with everything he is

- his favorite movies include: velvet goldmine, wolfwalkers, but im a cheerleader

- he has transfem swag

- once he’s processed most of his problems, he learns to vent his more sadistic tendencies by being absolutely cruel to his sims (his sim world is fascinating)

- he always orders the weirdest ice cream flavor on the menu. this was once cicada ice cream with real cicadas. he very much enjoyed it

my final and most important headcanon:

- it takes time and it takes work, and it is not always perfect, but he gets to a place where he is, overwhelmingly, happy

Tysm!! I really appreciate it. This is honestly a cute idea so I’m happy to write some HCs:

Modern!Claude and an S/O with a sweet tooth:

He would honestly love it; he would definitely buy his S/O their favorite candies as a small surprise or whenever they want.

Claude wouldn’t make any comments about it; at worst, he hopes that you can sample his own sweets. He loves to cook and bake, so he would hope to get his S/O to eat something that wasn’t candy now and again.

In my version of him, he can taste despite not needing to eat human food. Because of this, he himself has a big sweet tooth. Claude, however, prefers chocolate and baked goods. If S/O also loves chocolate, then they’re a great match.

All the candy holidays are a great excuse for him to go all out and get his S/O’s favorites, but he would definitely try and get them to try some adventurous candies with him. Even if they’re less than pleasant or downright gross, he would at least want them to have the experience. He also gets a kick out of it, snickering to himself whenever S/O has a bad or funny reaction.

He would definitely try some of their favorites and grow to love them. That is, of course, if S/O shares. If not, consider separate candy stashes because Claude would 100% take a piece now and again. Being devilish, he would probably take some more often if S/O didn’t like to share.

Now whenever he sees certain candies, he thinks of S/O and feels fuzzier than he ever thought he would.

If they live together, then the home is full of sugary stuff. It’s all neatly organized since it’s Claude - he would be into the current trend of reorganizing everything into different jars and containers - but it’s definitely a dedicated section.

Tbh I can see Claude really being into sour candy, forcing his S/O to listen to him monologuing about the duality of it.

“The sweet turns into sour, the sour turns into sweet… it’s malleable, such is the way of-” meanwhile S/O just wants to eat their candy in peace LMAO

Claude knows what to do during an S/O’s sugar crash should that happen; I don’t think he would know what to do for himself. He’d suddenly get one for the first time and wonder what was going on.

There’s actually an adorable Claude x reader Drabble in which Claude and Reader eat a lot of Halloween Candy; I’m getting a little inspiration from it so here’s a link.

Basically just indulging S/O in their sweet tooth and allowing himself to do the same with his; of course, he makes sure to supply enough nutrition for them during meal times.

Prompt: Fast forward a century or so, and the Grim Reaper Dispatch’s collection system has switched to AI and other complex technologies. How good are the grim reapers at this? How do they feel about it?

Summary: In a modern era filled with smart watches, smartphones and modern technology... one grim reaper struggles to adapt. But at least he has his found family to help him. CW: a cookie for every time I write poor Ronald being late to work like... I don't even HC him as someone who is late THAT often?? anyway... no CW XD it's all silliness within this modern AU

(I don't think I did as much of a modern AU as was suggested in the prompt but this is the best my brain could produce <3 )

Ronald rushed into the office building, eyes glued down at his watch. He tapped the screen, flicked to the unread messages tab, and started slowly scrolling. His feet carried him through the office, waving at the right time when he blindly greeted his fellow reapers, too occupied by the little screen.

He was two minutes late. The time showing on his watch seemed to glare at him, but he couldn’t do too much about it now. He was, however, checking to make sure William hadn’t sent an angry email yet.

Othello wrapped an arm around Ronald’s shoulders once he arrived at the right floor, enveloped in a half-hug the second the elevator doors let off their signature ‘ting’.

“You’re late.”

“I know,” Ronald sighed. “Has he noticed?”

Othello fixed Ronald with a look. The silence prompted Ronald to look away from his watch and up to his fellow reaper. The ‘are you serious’ look that was on Othello’s face said it all. “Good luck,” Othello voiced with a final pat to Ronald’s shoulder before leaving him to his fate.

Taking a deep breath, Ronald pushed the glass door open to reveal a room with no one but William and Grelle left.

Grelle, of course, hanging back to talk to William, who for once offered her some attention.

“Did I miss it?” Ronald asked with wide eyes.

“Of course you did,” William scoffed in indignation. “The room is empty. What other logical conclusion could you have made?”

“Sorry, sir-“

“Oh don’t stress about it, Ronnie-boy,” Grelle complained with a wave of her hand, annoyed Ronald was taking William’s attention from her. The man still stood at the far end of the room, in front of a little podium. Behind him, the screens were all still lit up, showing satellite images of England. Grelle was lounging in one of the front rows, as usual. “It’s all recorded, you can catch up on your lunch break.”

William huffed, as if Grelle had just offended him personally. Taking a deep breath, William lifted his chin and touches his glasses: “The use of technology in such a fashion only serves to slow us grim reapers down further. It promotes tardiness if there are no consequences to-“

“Yeah yeah,” Grelle interrupted, taking her phone out to check her makeup (and take some selfies). “Whatever you say.”

There was another deep breath taken on William’s end, then he busied himself by collecting the papers on his podium.

“Sir…” Ronald sighed in amusement, trying his best to make William forget Ronald’s mishap. “Did the department not give you a replacement tablet?”

William pursed his lips. “No.”

That was a lie. William always pursed his lips when lying – it was a tell. The man was a horrible liar, more prone to telling too much of the truth than actually offering a gentle lie to shield someone’s emotions.

“Right,” Ronald said with a chuckle. “Did you get frustrated with it and throw it to the floor? Again?”

William stared over at Ronald with a look that was meant to be authoritative and annoyed, but the use of it as defence against Ronald’s apparent correct deduction only offered a comical effect to the situation at hand – and Ronald chuckled again.

“I much prefer the old ways of working.”

“The old ways of working meant heaps of paper everywhere that needed to be filed correctly because there were no do-overs. This new system allows for-“

“Tardiness,” William finished, holding the notes for his morning debrief in his arms as he walked down from the podium and glared at the two reapers present: one obsessively scrolling down TikTok, and the other complaining about the old ways. “If you are exempt from making mistakes, how will you ever learn to work properly, efficiently, and without delays?”

A shrug was all William was given.

“Precisely. I absolutely loathe these new ways but no matter how many complaints I send in, management simply refuses to change anything.”

“The new reapers don’t seem to mind.” That had been the wrong thing to say to William as the man scoffed and fixed his glasses twice.

Twice.

Twice meant William had been close to scolding Ronald.

“The newly assigned grim reapers come from an age I do not even pretend to comprehend.”

“Oh this age isn’t so bad. This Lady Gaga person makes things much better, William dear,” Grelle interjected. “You should go to a concert.”

“Lady who?” William asked with a quirked brow.

“Sir…” Ronald bit his bottom lip. “Would it help if I came up with another little song to help you sort out how to work the tablet? Like I did with the heating? The minus button makes it go cold, cold, cold. The plus button –“

“Yes, you’ve quite made your point, Knox.” There was no glare, only an embarrassed look sent up to the heavens as a silent prayer left William.

Amused, Ronald watched William leave in a hurry, having forgotten all about Ronald’s tardiness that morning.

And without telling Ronald ‘no’ in regards to the memory song, which only meant they helped which only meant… William used them. Ronald spent the rest of the morning coming up with one for William’s tablet issues.

This modern age proved difficult for some reapers, but at least they all had each other to help.

Modern Undertaker headcanons

I honestly don't think much about modern au versions of Kuroshitsuji characters.

Trying to think about it....

He might dress more like he does in that Akuma6 extra chapter (ch107.5) where he's wearing some sort of sweater tuxedo top (for lack of a better description) and gray trousers. At least for dressing up a bit, because that has a very modern feel to me. Though idk whether he'd usually keep his bangs down or half braided back or what.

Whatever he's wearing, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a bit layered, since he seems to go for that sort of look.

Be up to and do? I suppose he could return to the undertaker profession. Perhaps he would become one of those morticians who posts to social media about their work and the tools and techniques of their trade. In this day and age, he'd have to get signed waivers from the family of the deceased, but then he could post videos of how to drain fluids, embalm bodies, do their makeup, etc. There are already popular "ask a mortician" type accounts out there, so he'd definitely find an audience.

For videos and social media pics, I can see him dressing down (tshirt and dark jeans or something) much of the time but wearing the expected PPE of a regular working mortician... and putting his hair up in some super messy man bun that has loose bits hanging down. The long braid would still be there and simply incorporated into the messy bun.

Like one of these, but with much longer strands falling down... and his hair cleaned again, so it's white, not grey:

His scars would still be visible, and he'd still have all of his ear piercings. Idk if he'd have more piercings, but he really doesn't need more.

He'd have a decently large following, and many would be watching just to stare at him. There would be a lot of thirst in the comments, and it would make him laugh when he reads them. If he accepts actual questions from viewers/subscribers, they would have to tell him jokes that get a laugh from him before he answers any of their questions.

Modern AU:

Alois has a Instagram she posts a lot on

Ciel and her met during a school event when someone used her deadname a lot

Ciel gave them a Phantomhive ring shaped stamp on their cheek

Alois loves calling him "her knight" while bating her lashes

Like in the canon verse, Ciel is her biggest supporter and goes to every appointment of every step

Black butler reaper accent headcanons

- William still speaks in his very old posh accent he learned as a kid. A lot of modern new reapers think he’s doing it as a like a bit when they first meet him. Then they realize oh that’s just how he talks.

- Grelle speaks in general rp. But will go into a bit of a cockney accent when she’s around Ronald as that’s the accent she had growing up.

- Ronald speaks has a very thick Cockney accent. Like to the point where William has to ask Grelle or Othello to translate.

- Othello speaks in a Scouse accent. Though over the years working in London he’s started to lose it over the years. But on occasion he’ll say something like “That’s boss!” or “Ron and I are goin’ to get bevvys after work.”

- Alan speaks in a South Welsh accent. He still speaks Welsh. Often you hear him under his breath swearing or muttering in Welsh. Eric thinks it’s hot.

- This one might be controversial but Eric speaks in a Yorkshire accent. I had a friend tell me his last name isn’t Scottish. So I was looking around at other accents and I thought the sound of the Yorkshire accent suited him.
