The raindrops felt like little pinpricks on her skin, intensified by the cool november air. Laura walked quickly, but by the time she returned home from her walk, she was completely frozen. She went into the bathroom and dumped water into the bathtub as she carefully peeled off her wet clothes. Her cold fingers tingled uncomfortably as she touched the textiles of her clothing. Armed with a glass of wine, she carefully lowered herself into the pleasantly warm water of the bathtub. The flickering light from the candles she had lit earlier created a comforting atmosphere. It wasn't long before she heard the front door open. Then footsteps in the hallway. After a soft knock on the bathroom door, it slowly opened. A completely soaked Travis stepped inside. Thick drops of water fell from his uniform onto the tiled floor as he slowly walked toward the bathtub. Laura said nothing. She took another sip from her wine glass as she watched him untie the knot of his tie. A few seconds later, he took the glass from her and took a sip as he joined her in the bathtub.

"I missed you." she said, smiling at him.

The rain, which had meanwhile become heavier, pattered against the window from outside.

He slowly closed his eyes, glad to finally be home. With her.

"I missed you too."
