Isekai Yandere Strawhats X Black Fem Reader Ch 18
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Minor spoilers!!!!
Tumblr media
Luffy hadn't been this upset in so long. He couldn't even remember a time when he was so upset he didn't want to eat. Robin smirked at the commotion she caused, the energy in the room was intoxicating and Nami leaving was the icing on the cake.
Using her fruit to add an ear to Sanji as he rushed to follow behind her the smirk on her face turned into an animalistic grin. The fruit of her quiet labor had finally shown itself.
Matter all the months of reading the media she was born from, watching you with the crew and with the heart pirates, then creating multiple plans that slightly failed. She was overjoyed at the fact that this one was working out flawlessly.
Luffy complained and started little arguments with Ussop and Zoro. They all but rolled their eyes at their captain knowing it wasn’t about their card game but at the fact that you weren’t with them.
Robin decided to leave the room telling them she was going to get a drink, of course to bother Sanji.
The cook was smoking thinking about everything that would most likely happen over the next few days. Robin opened the door and smiled at him sitting down on a booth asking him for Coffee.
It was silent for a while, both waiting to see if the other would spark up the obvious conversation. Robin was going to be impulsive tonight so she spoke up.
“ Are you also upset with me?”
“ No… I understand. I understand the both of you.”
She hummed and took a sip of her drink, “ I think it’s in our best interest if Luffy is upset, he can use the anger with Kaido.”
“ But what about our alliance? It’s also in our best interest to be on good terms with Trafalgar. I don’t think it was a good idea to mention that Y/N was planning on staying with them until we got to Onigashima.”
“ Perhaps…”
It was silent again, Robin did agree with the fact that they did need Law, and as of now Law and you were a package; one wouldn’t be without the other. However, after Wano Law would be defeated and so far there hasn’t been any mention of the Heart pirates since.
You didn’t know that though, you’ve been here so long and haven’t caught up to the manga yet.
Robin had another bright idea.
“ Sanji… have you gotten to read the books?”
“ Yes, a few. Why do you ask?”
“ I know everyone thinks me mentioning Law and Y/N was a bad idea… which makes me wonder who read and up to what but after Wano.. Law is defeated.”
Shock spread over Sanji’s face and the cigarette he was smoking dropped to the ground. With how calculating and cunning Law was— including with how powerful his fruit was… who could defeat him besides his captain?
“ I know you’re wondering who.. it’s Black beard.”
“ The heart pirates are ambushed when we all go our separate ways, and the Kid pirates were dumb enough to think they would be able to defeat Shanks.”
“ Does Y/N know this?”
She shook her head and the cook sighed in relief. This would work out perfectly, you’d finally be just with them and Law wouldn’t even be a problem in their lives.
The conversation continued for some time before the lights went out and the crew were soundly asleep.
You were curious about what Law did in your world. He kept it pretty broad when he told you about it and you couldn’t help but spark interest in what he did.
You moved closer to him pulling his attention from the stars. “ I’m feeling bold and curious right now… you started. You never took your eyes off the sky but you noticed the slight redness on his face which made you hopeful for answers.
“ I want to know what you did when you were in my world. Were you alone..?”
“ I was. I didn’t want to risk anything happening to my crew mates. It was pretty weird, the entirety of it. From getting there to seeing everything.”
Law remembered Robin telling him to visualize different things and to clear his mind before she left the room they were in. He felt his entire body spin but he knew he wasn’t moving and when he opened his eyes he was in a bedroom.
He was in shock, it was as if he used his own transportation power but when he saw pictures of you on the walls he realized he was in a new world. Law read every book on your shelf, and glee spread through him as he learned so much about you.
He heard movement a few hours later, people were coming home. He quickly grabbed an eraser and hid into the closet. He planned to use his power if someone came in and found his hiding place.
A little while later the door opened, for a moment he couldn’t recognize who it was. Different hairstyle, different clothes, and the person in question was faced away. Until they turned towards him, and low and behold it was you.
You were just as pretty as you’d always had been but the far off look in your eyes let him know this was only half of the person you used to be. That’s when Law knew he needed to do everything to get you back home, where you really belonged.
You were simply on auto pilot, doing routines your body had gotten accustomed too without really thinking about it. He grew angry seeing you like this, and even angrier knowing the Strawhats seen you like this as well.
They made into half a person in both worlds. You were trapped with no one to notice or care because to them you weren’t really missing. He would’ve hopped someone from your universe had noticed— especially your parents but it seemed to him that either no one cared or they couldn’t really see the change in your eyes and certain mannerisms.
Law used the erasure to leave your home, unable to continue watching you. It would break his heart even further.
He strolled the streets, hoping to be seen as normal but the strange looks that he got from basically everyone let him know he needed to change outfits and unfortunately get rid of his beloved hat.
Law scoured your town after changing, never forgetting leave his hat inside of your closet. He went to the library, the parks to continue reading his long medical books.
And after a days work he went back to your house, and into the crevices of your closet. He watched you as you ate your dinner in your room, just so you could catch up with a new episode of your favorite show.
When you left the room he decided to stretch until a pair of eyes met his own. Before he could make a sound multiple hands wrapped around him and covered his mouth.
Robin had appeared to tell him you had been searching for his since last night.
“ Interesting. I thought when you shifted people couldn’t tell that you’re gone.”
A lump in your throat had formed after that sentence. No one knows you’re gone but the ones who do have been watching you in the other world. They all knew that you looked broken but did nothing about it.
The urge to leave tonight settled inside you. You were done with the Strawhats, you needed to sever this link they’ve created.
Law noticed the gears in your brain turning and he quickly spoke up.
“ Y/N.. if you go I want to come with you.”
Your head snapped to him and your eyes widened, “ You want to come with me?”.
He nodded and you struggled for words. Why would he come with you? Could he be plotting with the Strawhats so you’re never fully out of reach—
“ I want to continue exploring your world.. and I Don’t honestly think I can live life without you anymore.”
The solemn energy had dissipated, both of your hearts were racing, waiting for the other to say something even more embrassing.
“ I-I don’t know what to say. I would love for you to come back with me but… you have a life here. You were born here, I’m a completely different case. Not to mention law, your crew.”
“ I would still come back. I just want to be with you.. as much as I can. Can we move the conversation to you either saying yes or no?”
Law was so embarrassed by the words coming out of his mouth. He was begging for your answer at this point, he didn’t want too much flying out of his silly little mouth without knowing how you felt.
You bit your lip. Law coming home with you? Being with you. He wants to be with you? You could hear your heart in your ears as you finally decided to answer him.
“ No.”
“ Great we can- No? Oh..”
A giggle made it’s way out of your lip and you latched onto his jaw and pulled him in for a kiss.
The eyes watching you from behind all widened and a collective gasp was heard by their captain and you. The two of you pulled away and Law angrily told them off as his entire face turned stark red.
After he was sure there was no more peaking he pulled you closer and you both continued to stare at the stars.
“ Would you sleep in my room…”
“ If you’d let me.”
“ Okay.”
“ Tomorrow?”
“ Yes.”
Night turned to day and Luffy was getting ready for Wano packing his stretchy limbs into armor. As much as he was joking and playing like usual you not being around made everything less funny.
“ Robin, Did you find Y/N !”
“ Y/N is with Trafalgar, we’ll see her tonight.”
He sucked his teeth and the crew gave one another looks.
“ Where are they?”
“ I’m not too sure, the book never mentions the heart pirates exact locations.”
He groaned and threw himself to the ground. He didn’t want to be nice to Trafalgar anymore, he wanted to play games with Y/N and cuddle her like he used to.
He thought that after all they did for you, you’d come to your sense and just have fun with him everyday. You were a priority in his life just as the rest of his crew mates and he thought he pushed far enough with you.
With every other crew member that he has he never needed to do too much to get them to join his crew. Why did you have to be so different? It’s not that he hates how you are, you being so different is what made him so attracted to you.
Everyone else knew how oblivious the boy was to his own feelings, seeing his mind overload itself trying to understand why exactly he’s so upset right now.
Luffy didn’t want to say it himself, deep down he knew the emotions he felt for you different then the feelings for his crew mates. He slapped his hand on his face to cover the redness on his cheeks.

A Demon's Duty
Satan x reader
Prompt: 🐈 + Park
~Satan leaves the dinner table abruptly, and you follow him into an impending rainstorm.
WC: 1.9k
~This is one of the requested prompts for My Emoticon Expression’s Event; check out the Masterlist on my welcome page.

“And then the photographer asked me to come back next week for another gig.” Mammon boasts from his seat at the dinner table. He looks around the table at each of his brothers before shooting you a playfully adorable grin. The Avatar of Greed fiddles with his utensils before continuing his story, “Just you wait; I’ll be swimming in Grimm before the next issue comes out.”
“Interesting,” Lucifer says, lifting his glass of demonus and taking a small sip. His crimson gaze stares his younger brother down from across the table. “Then you will have no problem paying me back on the loan I gave you last month. With interest, of course.”
Mammon’s eyes widen in fear as a few of his brothers snicker at his expense.
“I just don’t understand it,” Asmodeus pouts, looking his brother up and down. “If they wanted someone to model, they could’ve asked me to do it, don’t you think so, Satan?”
You look over at the Avatar of Wrath, who is paying no attention whatsoever to the dinner conversation. His fork absentmindedly dances across the porcelain as he rests his chin in his other hand, his light brows furrowed in deep thought.
“Satan, are you feeling sick? You haven’t touched your dinner.” Beel, who is seated next to him, asks gently, placing a large hand on the blond’s shoulder. The little nudge causes Satan to jolt up suddenly, the table shaking slightly as he springs to his feet.
“It’s nothing,” he says quickly. “I have to go.” Before anyone has the chance to say anything, he steps quickly out into the hallway and out the front door.
The room falls silent; Belphie looks awake and alert, Levi has tucked away the Manga he had been trying to read under the table, and Beel is letting his food get cold.
Everyone is worried about him, but no one knows what to say.
“Well, that was weird.” Mammon huffs after some of the longest seconds of your life. “What’s up with him?”
“Shouldn’t we go after him? He looked upset?” you ask, pushing back your chair. Come to think of it, Satan had been unusually quiet today; initially, you had assumed the demon was tired from a long night of reading. But with the way he had exited, you have a feeling there is more to it than that.
“I think that is a wise decision, Mc,” Lucifer says, doing his best to hide the worry on his features. “Would you like someone to accompany you?”
“No, it’s alright.” you say, already halfway across the carpet, “You guys should just finish your dinner; I’ll call if anything happens.”
Lucifer nods, prompting you to leave the room. Your steps are quick as you try to catch up with Satan to figure out what caused him to step out of one of his favorite meals so urgently.
~
The Devildom air feels heavy with unfallen rain as you make your way down the path. The one-minute Headstart Satan had on you makes following him difficult. But this is the only way he could’ve gone. As you search for any trace of the demon, your thoughts Jeff back to the conversation you heard earlier this morning about an impending rain storm. It makes you want to hurry up before the both of you get caught in the precipitation.
“Satan?” You call out, your voice carrying through the ancient trees in the park. “Where are you?”
The pathway twist’s slightly as you walk toward the wishing fountain. But you never make it there…
A hand reaches out at you through the trees and covers your mouth. You clench your fist, ready to fight back against the would-be attacker, only to hear them shush and you gently. It’s Satan. Your shoulders relax, but you look at him quizzically.
When you lock eyes, he lets go of you. Looking at you apologetically. “I’m so sorry; I didn’t want you to scare it away.”
“Scare what away?” You whisper, looking around. But the only thing you see is Satan. His cheeks turn pink, and he casts his eyes to the leaf-covered ground as he pulls a folded piece of paper from his pocket. Your eyes squint to make out the text, but it is written in a language you haven’t learned yet. But you do make out a portrait of a heartbreakingly tiny black and white spotted kitten plastered in the center of it.
“When I was walking home today, I saw there was a flier up for a missing cat,” he explains, keeping his voice low and steady. “I called the owner and tried to search for it earlier; they told me they were last seen around here. I thought I was getting close but found nothing. When I got home, all I could think about was that poor kitten lost and alone out here in the rain. I couldn’t take it anymore; I had to go back out.”
His words pull at your heartstrings as you nod in understanding. “So you think the cat is still out here? “You ask, looking around for any trace of a kitten, “It’s a large park.”
“I know it is. “He says confidently, and you believe him. After all, he’s Satan; he has a sixth sense about cats. “I just want to find it and bring it back to its owner before anything happens to it.” Dark clouds seem to roll in with a dense breeze that covers the waning moon; he looks at you with concern and reaches for your hand. “But you should go back inside; it’s about to rain, and I wouldn’t want you to get sick because you were out here looking for me.”
“You shake your head and give his hand a light-hearted squeeze. “Not a chance; we have a kitten to find,” you say optimistically.
“You mean you’re going to help me find it?” he blinks in surprise before giving you a soft smile.
“Of course, I will,” you reply, crouching down and peaking through the branches of some dense shrubbery. “It means a lot to you, doesn’t it?”
“One of these days, that big heart of yours is going to get you in trouble.” He chuckles before going back to his search. His inhuman ears listen for even the slightest sound that could tip him off to where the missing kitten is.
He’s a bit of a hypocrite because his big heart is the reason why the two of you are searching through the forest. But you can save the teasing for later.
“Any luck?” you ask, walking around the bush to check the other side. The first raindrop drips lightly onto your cheek, but it’s nowhere near a downpour yet. Your heart rate quickens at the idea of getting caught in the storm without finding the kitten.
“No,” Satan mumbles, brushing some thorny branches to the side. “And I’m getting worried; the poster said the kitten is too young to survive on its own. Its owner has been searching everywhere but hasn’t found anything either.”
“We’ll find it,” you mumble, peeking through the branches, “we have to.”
The raindrops get heavier and land on the top of your head. Already cold water is seeping down your neck as you bend over to inspect a new cluster of bushes. The forested area of the park goes on for miles. And the pit of your stomach turns at the thought of never finding the little guy.
Your foot hits a dark tree root, and you stumble forward, nearly falling into a large berried bush before you catch yourself.
“Mc, are you alright?” Satan asks, coming to your side. “It’s too dark out here for you to see anything; you should go home.”
You shake your head, “I’m fine; let’s keep looking.” you start to say until you feel a slight resistance on your shoelace. Looking down, you see that it has come undone and has attracted a bit of fluff.
A black and white kitten barely large enough to fit in your hand toys with it playfully. You and Satan stare dumbfounded between yourselves and the kitten.
“Hey there, little one,” you say, gently scooping up the little ball of fluff and tucking him into the inside of your jacket. “Let’s get you someplace warm.” You hold the kitten so carefully, and with so much love it makes Satan’s eyes turn glassy, but there is still a little quirk in his lips that tells you that there is something else he is thinking about.
“Something’s not right,” he states, turning around and lying down on the ground. Leaves crunch all around him and stick onto his cardigan, but he is determined to settle this feeling of unease in his gut. He peers into the bushes and gasps, reaching under the bush quickly. When it comes back, you see that he, too, is holding a little ball of fluff in his hand; this one is orange and fairly larger than your own.
“It has a friend,” you whisper as the black and white kitten kneads into your skin playfully, purring up a storm.
Satan’s smile is victorious as his kitten blinks up at him sleepily and lets out a high-pitched mewl, “Hello there,” he chuckles softly as his kitten begins to lick his fingers with its sandpaper tongue on, “You must be hungry; let’s get you out of this rain and somewhere warm.”
He doesn’t turn to go just yet, turning his attention to you instead. “Is something the matter?” you ask.
“Thank you for helping me,” he says, stepping closer and giving you a look of love and affection just for you. “If you weren’t out here, who knows when I would’ve found these little guys.”
“You would’ve found them,” you smile, watching as the kitten looks between the two of you excitedly, “I didn’t do much.”
“You did so much,” he says, “And tomorrow, I promise to thank you the way you deserve to be thanked, but for now, I’m afraid you’ll have to settle with this.”
“With what?” you ask coyly, leaning in a bit closer to him.
“With this,” he says, kissing you softly, the rain breaking just for the moment he takes your breath away. He parts gently and looks down at you with satisfaction. “Was that sufficient?”
“For now,” you hum, “as much as I would love to kiss you again in the rain, we have to get these little guys back home before we all get soaked.”
He looks down at the orange kitten who is currently trying to burrow into his sleeve and laughs as the two of you head back through the park with your new fuzzy friends.
~
“I thought you said only one kitten was missing,” you say as you make your way back to the House, the falling rain speckling the pavement below you. You cover the kitten who has dozed off in your hands, and Satan does the same.
“There was,” he smiles, “But until we figure out what to do with these guys, I guess they will be staying with me. I’ll call the owner and explain the whole situation.”
“What about Lucifer?” you giggle, knowing the eldest brothers rule against cat ownership.
“What Lucifer doesn’t know won’t hurt him.” he smiles devilishly, “I’ve gotten pretty good about sneaking cats into my room over the years.”

Trigger Warning: Explicit Smut in later Parts, both Characters are Teens, Slight Toxic Behavior, Complicated Consensual/Not-Consensual Behavior Summery: Chishiya x Female Reader
BestFriend!Chishiya has been watching you closely ever since that one day, posing as the ever so unbothered best friend of yours, who was, in no way, interested in what happened nor what it could mean to you. Things are supposed to feel normal. Boring. As black and white as ever. Just the two of you. As friends. But that wasn’t the case anymore, at least not for you.
BestFriend!Chishiya eyes lay carefully on your figure, while you are pretty much slumped over your homework. You feel his stare. At least you think you do, cause every time you look up, his brown chocolate orbs, framed by peroxide blond strands, are focused on his books instead and it confuses you. A lot. Are you going crazy?
BestFriend!Chishiya knows it does and he also knows that you can feel him starring right into your soul. It amuses him how you react. Thought it only animates him to do it more often and see how far he could drive you up the wall. You, on the other hand feel like you can’t trust your own instincts anymore. Whenever you look up, sure to catch his attention on yourself, only for it to be somewhere else, he does grand you with a tired look of his own, asking less interested “Is there something?” only for you to shake your head and return to your notes and scribbles of halfhearted done work.
In the past, you were always sure when BestFriend!Chishiya was staring at you. You caught him but it was ok because it was nothing than just a game. You were confident to know when he tried to poke you with his mind directely and see if you react, but now, after that fateful day, your instincts seem to play with you, or does he? You believe to know when his eyes roam your body, but as soon as you look up, you are only met by his presence, not his attention. You can’t help but think, maybe, just maybe, it is just in your head.
Perhaps you wish for BestFriend!Chishiyas attention? Maybe, after what he asked of you, so blatant, so easy, but still so consequential, it toys with your head? It can’t be. Shouldn’t be. Wont. BestFriend!Chishiya isn’t this kind of person. You have never seen him interested in anyone, beside his work and some side projects, but persons? Actual Human beings? Not if it didn’t benefit his future career or any other entertainment, so even if he looks at you. Even if your mind isn’t playing games on you and making you see and feel things that aren’t there. Even if. It doesn’t matter because he surely sees you with no different eyes than before.
BestFriend!Chishiya says “Speak up”, ripping you out of your thoughts and this time, when you do look up, his attention is undeniably on you “Huh?” you ask confused, tho you have a feeling what he meant “You haven’t asked me to help you with your homework yet, but I can see from here that most of it is either incorrect or so farfetched, it’s not rhetorical anymore, but a fable”
BestFriend!Chishiya watches you lower your gaze, playing the dumb one, what isn’t that hard, since compared to him, you are practically dumb “I have no idea what you are talking about”
BestFriend!Chishiya grabs your book and notes, turning it towards himself and scans thru it, before a smirk appears on his handsome face. Did you just think handsome? Oh god no… “Who is axelot the great? Any why did he conquer your pants?”
BestFriend!Chishiya admires your confused face as you take your book back from him, reading over your notes and mentally slapping your head at least 5 times. You know that your brain isn’t fully there. More likely over the place, just like your mind. Every sentence you read, needed to be re-read at least 5 times before it sunk halfway in, what made you slower than usual but such errors? That was truly stupid, and you feel your cheeks flush and palms getting sweaty at the realization, just how far away your thoughts had been during homework.
“Didn’t know your pants can be conquered” mocked BestFriend!Chishiya amused and you flash him daggers, words shaky as you open your mouth, wanting to bark at him, but what comes out is barely above a whisper “Shut up”
BestFriend!Chishiya notes with amusement your obvious embarrassment. It can be captured with a camera, that’s how evident it is. So you give up, for the day, scrambling your papers together, wanting nothing more than to leave this uncomfortable situation. The Last days you have done nothing but waiting for something to happen. A sign, that what happened, did happen and wasn’t just a dream or something. That it was real, but BestFriend!Chishiya has gone back to his usual self so fast, you almost got whiplash from it.
It is like all you two did, all BestFriend!Chishiya did, with you, all the touches and words and everything was nothing more than an illusion and it makes you crazy. It makes you question yourself if you have gone insane and dreamed it all up. After all he never lost a word about it, never brought it up, never asked how you felt after his hands had touched every piece of skin, no matter where. And as if he hasn’t made you touch him. Him. It!!!
BestFriend!Chishiya stops your actions, taking your book right out of your arms and opening it at the last page he read one movement ago. It impresses you every time how perfect he does things. How nothing he makes, ever contained any failures. No step ever went into the wrong direction and no word was less correct than the ones before and all that followed.
BestFriend!Chishiya was perfect. His whole actions always had been, but now, it is like the colors he forced you to see, also reflect on him in a way, that makes you see more of him. Truly him. Not just your best friend. More of how perfect his body is. How manly he is. Why did you never see him like that before? Is it because until that day, BestFriend!Chishiya was nothing but a friend and not a guy? And seeing his sex made you realize he was one all along? Is one.
No, that was wrong. BestFriend!Chishiya is no guy, he is a man. There is no way just a guy could be so talented with his hands like BestFriend!Chishiya was. No guy is so gifted like him in certain places, no one and yes you looked the average up on the internet afterwards. BestFriend!Chishiya is certainly not one of them. He is so…big.
BestFriend!Chishiya proceeds to correct your writing as if it was nothing to him and with a totally collected appearance. Like your stupidity is no problem at all. Like all of this is just an everyday happening. And it makes you angry that he treats it that way. Then again, it also makes you angry that you feel the way you do and the emotions that you shouldn’t feel. Then again, can you really blame him for the thoughts you have and the way he faces them?
BestFriend!Chishiya made sure, that day, what his action meant for him, beforehand and you knew that. You agreed to it and now, you have the audacity to be angry he doesn’t feel more? That his mind isn’t as scattered as yours. Unable to focus on simple tasks. How fucked up are you exactly?
You sit down again, giving up on your intentions of leaving. It would only throw off questions like why and to be honest you can’t really answer them correctly without admitting your messy brain, so you give up and look at him instead. Really look at him, up and down, trying to see what really changed about him, because you feel like a lot did, but then again, also nothing. BestFriend!Chishiya is still just him, and way more. Gosh your mind is truly a mess. You can’t even think straight!
“You are starring” No question, no reminder of your unnatural behavior, just an obvious statement and you smile. Sure, a lot has changed, but BestFriend!Chishiya was still the same in many ways, after all.
“I was thinking.”
BestFriend!Chishiya chuckles, his eyes not leaving the book in his hands. Red pencil correcting every mistake of yours like a teacher. But a handsome one “About?”
“Just” you start but interrupt yourself, because the words in your mouth seem like another elusive explanation instead of the truth “I thought…no I questioned myself…did it really happen?”
“Did what really happen?” BestFriend!Chishiya makes a big X over a whole paragraph of your writing and you swallow. This action makes you rethink your words again. Your sentences made sense to you when you wrote them down, but to see how wrong they are now, makes you self-conscious of your ability to judge the situation rightfully. Probably, you are wrong after all. Have you gone insane?
“You know what.”
“I don’t” says BestFriend!Chishiya nonchalantly, another paragraph falling victim to his sharp eyes. You highly doubt his statement, looking at him with a bitch please expression.
“Don’t play dumb. It's not convincing.”
BestFriend!Chishiya stops his actions. He freezes in his position for what felt like minutes. Red pencil in his right hand, head lowered, gaze towards your work. Completely in his element and still. Time froze him up. Or maybe you did? “Do you really not know…what I mean?” you ask, words stuttering again, but this time your tone was at least content. Demanding an answer. Or was no answer the actual one?
BestFriend!Chishiya sighs heavily. Head rising, massaging his nape, he finally turns to you, with the oh so familiar playful smile on his face “I do know what you mean” This isn’t enough. You need him to say it out loud, so it was clear, the two of you are talking about the same thing. You need him to admit it in a full sentence that it really really happened.
“And what is that?” you ask, swallowing nervously. BestFriend!Chishiya doesn’t miss is. The way your breath picks up. How your chest raises with anticipation, expecting his answer, and hoping for the right one “I asked you to undress for me. Then I touched you on places that seems like you haven’t showed anyone else before me. At least your reaction to this whole topic tells me this” if possible, your heart races even more, lungs hitching like a broken-down car. You bite your bottom lip, unbeknown to yourself, but BestFriend!Chishiya sees it and cant refrain from smirking amused “Then you expected me to be turned on by your naked body and I tried to make you understand that it takes more than just some skin and flash to truly…excite me”.
You say nothing. Thoughts racing in your mind, BestFriend!Chishiya sees all the wheels turning, so he adds casually “Ah. That’s right, there was something else, I forgot. You touched me too. Or did I make you touch me? Who knows?”
BestFriend!Chishiya takes your silence as an invitation to lean forward and the fact that you don’t back away, is enough for him to proceed “Wanna see it again?” your eyes widen “Last time you barely got the chance to take in the sighed. Must have been your first time seeing one in real life, hm?”
BestFriend!Chishiya notices how you chew on your poor lip, unsure what to answer. If you should even answer at all, but you can’t help yourself from looking down at his hidden sex. The picture of it was engraved in your mind, never able to forget. Ever. Even if you wanted to. Do you want to? Who knows. However, you did somehow crave for your fingers to feel him again. Want to explore him the way he did with you. But your thoughts are focused only on one of his parts and BestFriend!Chishiya knows it by the way you eye his lower body, trying to undress him with your mind and feel every blue vain around the limb flash, meandering a way to its pink head “All you have to do is ask” BestFriend!Chishiya whispers, watching with delight how your fingers twitch with expectancy “You know. Like I did”
Your eyes rip from his dark pants when you are sure, no when you could swear you saw something move inside. Could it be? BestFriend!Chishiya sees how shocked you are at this realization, questioning if you really saw what you saw and it pleased him. The plea in your eyes, the black of your pupils widening to it extant with want, maybe even lust? He has no time to find out, because something scared you so much, you stumble practically to your feet, shoving everything you can get in one move inside your backpack and swinging it over your shoulder, rushing out of his room and with that out of his apartment, but before you are out the door, you hear BestFriend!Chishiya shout to you “Write me when you are home. I will bring your book with me tomorrow” and this was all that was said, before you were out and on your way home.
At home, no one asks you why you look so over the places. No one realizes how dirty your thoughts are and you don’t want to tell them, until you lay in bed, with your pajama on and damp hair from the quick shower, holding your smartphone clutched to your chest.
BestFriend!Chishiya. You forgot to write him. Or more like you didn’t forget but you pushed it aside, hoping to. The universe isn’t on your side tho, cause while lying around like that, you felt bad that maybe he could be worried about you, and you made him feel like that intentional.
BestFriend!Chishiya looks at his phone when the familiar ping sound of his notification chimes. He sits on his bed with his laptop on his folded legs, scrolling thru news all over the world and his mind taking in all the information’s like a sponge sucking up water. When he sees the message is from you, he smirks mischievous and moves the electronic device from his body, sinking deeper into his pillows.
YOU: Sorry I forgot to text you YOU: Been kind of busy since I got home

Hey! Hope you’re doing well, I’m sorry I haven’t responded to that last question of mine you answered but I absolutely loved it! Your answers are always super insightful. Today though I want to ask about another scene that I believe has big Killugon implications, but I have yet to see a single person really cover so far. I noticed it as I was re-reading the manga and instantly I knew something was up (oh and apologies in advance for the image quality but I had to take them off of my physical manga copies with my phone lol):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now for context this scene takes place in the direct lead up to the palace invasion, which each character having a short inner monologue about how they feel in the lead up to the fight. In the case of Shoot he chooses to focus on Killua and how he has changed since they’re fight, noting how Killua look very sad every “once in a while”.
Now when I first got to this panel I was a little caught off guard as I feel most readers would be, the reason being that prior to this scene we haven’t had any indication that Killua was sad at all. After all this is post-needle Killua after his big emotional fight with a Rammot, he hadn’t shown any signs of further sadness since then and, as Shoot says, was a lot more confident in himself and his abilities. So why would Togashi deliberately choose to draw attention to Killua’s feelings this way, and why now when there was no prior indication that he was feeling bad at all?
Well, I think the reason lies in a pair of scenes that happen prior to this revelation by Shoot, the first of which is this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, this is in the lead up to the palace invasion where the gang is working out their final plan of attack, while Palm is already enacting her part of the plan in the palace by herself.
Now this scene is interesting to me for a few reasons:
1. Togashi is using all this space (almost two and a half pages of it) to convey to make it clear to us how worried Gon obviously is about Palm since there’s a high chance she could die or already has at this point.
2. Togashi chose Killua specifically to be the one to explain this part of the plan to Gon, even when the more obvious choice would have been Knuckle or Shoot since they were with Morel and Knov when the plan was first made.
3. Killua is very clearly annoyed/dismissive/generally just put off by Gon’s worry about Palm, and is so harsh to Gon in the way he handles it that BOTH Knuckle and Meleoron call him out on it. Clearly there’s something more going on with Killua that Togashi wishes to highlight here, to the point where a scene about Gon’s feelings and worries about Palm quickly turns into a scene about KILLUA’S feelings about Gon’s feelings and worries about Palm!
But that’s not all! There’s also this science which takes place directly before we get Shoot’s reflection on Killua’s feelings:
Tumblr media
Again we see Gon ask about Palm the second he has the opportunity and is once more clearly upset by the fact that there is still no word from her.
So why do I bring these two scenes up? Well because when Shoot says that “once in a while” he sees Killua get very sad, we as readers have to then ask the question of when he would have the opportunity to be around Killua enough to gauge his emotions this way, as prior to this the gang has been very much speedster from one another for awhile.
In fact, some of the only scenes we see Killua and Shoot even in the same location are both instances where Gon asks about Palm, which would logically imply that it was some point during those interactions where Shoot came to this conclusion about Killua’s feelings. And considering how Killua’s reaction to Gon’s worries about Palm, it only makes sense that this is what Shoot saw. Killua getting visibly sad when Gon shows concern for Palm.
So essentially, I believe that what Togashi was trying to get the reader to understand in this scene was something like this: shoot comments on how sad Killua is. “Sad? Why would he be sad?” The reader thinks, “he didn’t seem sad at all prior to this, what is he sad about?” They then think back to how annoyed Killua was when Gon was talking about Palm and think “well he must be sad about that then, but he’s never liked Palm, why would he be sad that Gon cares about… OH, maybe he’s just jealous!”
And THAT I think is the point of this scene, or at the very least to keep Killua’s sadness in the back of the reader’s mind for later where it’ll come to fruition.
Now, obviously anyone who knows the story knows that Killua has his big emotional scene with Palm where he confesses that he thinks Gon cares more about her than him, and how heartbreaking that is for him to feel. When you first read that though it may seem to come a little bit out of nowhere and a bit delusional on Killua’s part if you take it on it’s own. However, in the context of this scene with shoot and Gon’s earlier vocal worry about Palm, it all starts to make sense. Killua sees this play out and gets jealous because he thinks Gon cares more about Palm, whom Killua still would think is Gon’s romantic partner because Gon never showed interest to him in stopping his date with her and they never officially called off their “relationship”. So to Killua Palm means more to Gon because she’s romantically involved with him (in his eyes) and he gets sad and… well… jealous honestly whenever he’s reminded of that fact. I don’t really see any other way to explain why Killua would think Palm is more important to Gon than him keeping the context of these scenes in mind.
It also doesn’t help that Gon basically confirmed it by pushing Killua away after he expressed so much outward worry for Palm so yeah. Oof. It makes sense why Killua thinks the way he does and this whole scene is Togashi hinting at that early on. That’s why he orders these scenes the way he does and why he brings Killua’s feelings to light there for the reader to notice.
But honestly what REALLY got to me about this scene, and what inspired me to write this whole long ass ramble on the first place, was one key detail. Togashi chose an objective character like Shoot (who’s about as objective as objective can be in this situation) to clearly highlight Killua’s deeper feelings for the reader in a way Killua himself can’t.
Sound familiar? Well it should because there is one other VERY important scene where Togashi does the exact same thing, and it happens a bit later on:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I had to cut out the first page for the sake of image number limits, but we both know what scene this is lol)
Isn’t it funny that Togashi would parallel Shoot’s revelations about Killua’s feelings here in the most romantically coded scene in the entire manga, with an equally objective character in Meleoron pointing out the same thing?
It’s hard to articulate this part but I hope you see what I’m getting at here.
It’s a very curious choice by Togashi indeed, to frame those hidden feelings that Meleoron sees explicitly around romantically love, and parallel that with Shoot’s earlier revelation about Killua being very sad even prior to Gon pushing him away… very curious indeed.
Anyway, wow this went on for longer than I thought but I needed to get this out of my head. If you have any insight I’d love to hear about it because I haven’t heard anyone talk about this scene and I need to know I’m not just crazy with what I see lol. To me, it’s just another case of that subtle, genius storytelling g by Togashi, but let me know what you think. Thanks!
Wow, this is a wonderful piece of meta, thank you so much for writing it all up and submitting it to me!! I had noticed/considered how snappy Killua gets to Gon when Gon is worrying over Palm, but this is a very carefully considered argument that the jealousy over Palm is an important part of Killua's sadness and uncertainty about his place in Gon's life going into the palace invasion. I had mostly read Killua's sadness here as Gon being distant prior and Killua picking up on that, Killua just generally being worried about the outcome, plus being hurt that Gon wants to fight Pitou on his own. I think those are all factors, too, but it's true that Killua is very focused and worried specifically about whether Gon considers him just a teammate or a friend.
I've always thought this whole dilemma comes off as "odd" in the sense that it wasn't long ago that Gon openly stated that Killua is his best friend in the whole world, under no uncertain terms. Why would Killua doubt his friendship with Gon? Plus there's the whole theme of not having to "qualify" to be a friend (an attitude towards friendship that Killua later passes on to Ikalgo). It's worth noting he's worrying about this prior to Gon's breakdown in front of Pitou and the "It's none of your business" (essentially) line that breaks Killua's heart. This happens just a bit before they confront Pitou.
Tumblr media
I'm having a hard time explaining this because it's more of a feeling I have about this scene than something I can concretely prove, but I feel like from a purely friendship standpoint, it's strange for Killua to be so fixated on whether they're friends or not when Gon has stated his friendship with Killua over and over again. Even if Gon has been more distant and insists on fighting Pitou alone (which is definitely part of the problem here), it's not as though there's some clear reason presented that shows Killua has been demoted and Gon no longer considers him a friend.
EXCEPT...Killua is so devoted to Gon that he has it in his mind that he and Gon might do a lovers' suicide if worst comes to worst. If Gon cares more about Palm than him, where does that put him? This whole struggle Killua is having of friendship vs teammates makes so much more sense when you consider Killua having romantic feelings for Gon, whether or not he's aware that that's what they are. And it especially makes sense tying in with the argument you're making, that the whole situation with Palm is a big piece of what's bothering and hurting Killua and causing him to doubt his standing with Gon. It is also a logical build up between the date with Palm and the ultimate climax of this subplot, where Palm assures Killua that he's the one means the most to Gon, and the only one who has any hope of saving him.
I think this whole friendship vs teammate thing is Togashi code for what Killua is really struggling with, which is the strong romantic feelings he has for Gon and his concern that they're not requited. Of course it's improbable Jump would allow Togashi to state this outright so of course he has to frame it differently, but as usual he makes it clear what he's really saying in a number of ways for those of us who look into it deeply, while also not alienating readers who aren't interested in viewing it in that light.
What you're pointing out here makes this whole subplot more clear and understandable, and also further cements the romantic reading of Killua in Chimera Ant Arc--bravo for pointing it out! I think you're totally right on your reading of this, it ties so much together, and it seems like carefully laid puzzle pieces all arranged in a meaningful order.
This is why I love discussing HxH with people--even after all the times I've watched and read the series, all the meta I've read through the years, there's always some new way to see things or something I hadn't considered yet. Togashi is truly a genius storyteller, and it's an absolute blast pulling apart his writing because it's so rich and filled with intention. Even tiny scenes and little snippets of dialogue that don't seem that important in the big picture can have so much meaning once you make connections like this.
Thanks again for sending this in, it was enlightening to me and I'm sure it will be for lots of other people as well! Feel free to send more observations any time!

My love for Tokyo Ghoul.
Tumblr media
I cannot express how much I love Tokyo Ghoul.
I finished my first reread last Saturday, and I’ve been experiencing classic TG brainrot. There has been so much going through my mind related to TG and I wanted to put it all down, somewhere, anywhere. I thought jotting it down into a tumblr post might be nice. I haven’t ever done this before, and I often find it hard to put all of my thoughts and feelings into words. Honestly, I didn’t expect everything to hit as hard as it did compared to when I first read TG. Considering I already knew the major reveals and plot points, I didn’t think they would make me feel the same way they did on my first experience, but I was very wrong. From start to finish, I loved every bit of it, probably even more than I did on my first read. Remembering the main aspects of the story and the different arcs and plot points actually gave me the chance to focus on and appreciate everything about TG so much more. Be it the characters or the art or the themes and symbolism. Also, I definitely think reading it at a slower pace helped, considering I bingeread it the first time. Without a doubt, Tokyo Ghoul is my favourite piece of fiction ever.
Tokyo Ghoul had everything I could ask for. The aspect of TG that I treasure most is the cast. It has a wonderful, wonderful group of characters. I can’t emphasize how much I love the TG cast. I probably have a special spot for almost every single one, at least among the significant characters. Be it Hinami, Tsukiyama, Hide, Eto, Juzo, Urie, Amon, Saiko, Akira, Nishiki, Takizawa, Renji, Ayato, Arima.. Ishida just presented them in a way where I could do nothing but be heavily invested in them. I can’t really think of any other manga that made me love the characters this much. Granted that stories like One Piece, HxH, JJK, and Jigokuraku each have an amazing cast with characters I love, I just feel different about the characters in Tokyo Ghoul. It might be because of the deep level of empathy I developed for each one of the characters? Maybe I could better relate to or understand what they went through? I personally think Tokyo Ghoul combined fiction with reality so well. When I say fiction, I mean in the sense of fantasy. When I read manga like One Piece, I feel immersed in the world and it takes me out of reality when I’m reading. Even for manga in real world settings, such as JJK, I get so caught up in the outwordly story that I don’t really have a grapse on reality. What I’m trying to say is that with TG, I really felt that many things depicted in the story were directly applicable to the real world we live in. It gave us a two-sided story where we constantly had a perspective of the Investigator and Ghoul world, and how their actions impact everything. It felt like this could be something happening in real life. In fact, many things shown in the manga are happening in real life but in the context of only humans. I’ll probably elaborate on that further after I finish talking about the characters or on another post. What I noticed is that I grew so much more fond of some characters I grew during this reread, who I didn’t really care much about before. Ui, Hanbeh, Hirako, Naki, Hairu, Hsiao.. I could go on. One of Ishida’s many strengths is his character writing and development. Kaneki is on a special tier of his own, to the point where I would say he is the best written character in manga. It might be a stretch for some, but the complexity and depth of Ken Kaneki is just something I haven’t gotten over since I first read TG. Aside from our MC, the way Ishida developed our side cast was amazing. Notably, I felt the strongest character arcs (aside from Touken) over the course of two parts were Arima, Eto, Suzuya, Amon, Shuu, Hinami, and Yomo. In relation to :re, Urie and Mutsuki probably had my favourite character arcs. Every character got a share of magic. On the reread, I got to appreciate certain characters a lot more.
The concept of investigators coming from the Hakubi Garden piqued my interest in Hairu, Hsiao, and Squad 0. I barely noticed them when I first read TG. When Hairu debuted, I had no clue she would be such a menace with her quinque. My first impression was that she was a cute and mysterious airhead. When she faced Matsumae and the others for the first time, I was blown away by her skills. Arima was very different, as he was built up constantly throughout the entire story. Kishou was literally named the “Reaper”, I don’t know what else you could to build that lethal, frightening aura he had. When I saw Hairu battle with such ease, I was instantly a fan. In an exagerrative sense, it felt like we were somewhat seeing a female version of Arima. That is where I really understood how special these Hakubi Garden children were. My appreciation for Squad 0 jumped up from then on. Hirako, similarly to Ui, had my attention from the 20th ward anteiku battle, and I really liked the bigger role he had to play in :re. Hsiao was the “new” quinx that immediately grabbed my attention. I loved her character design and reading that she came from the Garden meant I was going to read in joy whenever she was action. Hairu and Hsiao gave me some of my fav moments during the Rosé and Dragon arcs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ayato is someone I absolutely love after the reread. The way he matured reminds me a lot of Urie, although each of them did so differently. When we first met Ayato pre time skip, I couldn’t think of him as anything but an annoying rat. He wasn’t nice, he was aggresive, and I can’t really blame him because he was just one of many victims of the cruel world. I immediately caught onto how much Ayato had grown by TG :re. The panel where he tells the Torso, in calm and reasonable fashion, that him and his gang are nicer than the other Aogiri ghouls. I instantly remembered how he told Kaneki the same exact thing while he was repeatedly kicking him. The contrast in how Ayato acted in these two situations made it clear that Ayato had changed, from someone filled with rage and violence to someone composed and rational. Renji did say, during his fight with Arima, that the Kirishima siblings were like their mother - out of control. Touka undergoes a similar transition. I understood that both of them had let go of the past, which previously filled their hearts with hatred and anger. All his future actions and mannerisms displayed further showed us that Ayato has really grown up. I definitely think that Hinami played a key part in helping Ayato change. When Ayato first met Hinami, he still seemed somewhat unapproachable, like he was when he dealt with Kaneki. When Ayato got angry at her and Hinami laughed, it was probably the start of a new path for Ayato. Similarly to Touka, I felt that he was dealing with the despair of being alone in a cruel world. Parents gone, sister not there. Ayato dealt with it different to how Touka did, but they both felt alone and angry. Hinami gave Ayato the opportunity to feel that warmth he was missing - to fill that void in his heart, similarly to how Kaneki did with Touka. I could talk a lot more about Ayato. “Keep going Kaneki” will always give me goosebumps. He had accepted Kaneki, not only as his King, but as his brother in law.
Tumblr media
I was dragged into getting all sympathetic and attached to Naki. He might be “bros” with that psychopath Jason, but I just couldn’t shake off how I felt about him. The loyalty he showed was second to none. Whether it was that panel of him mumbling his comrades names or when he protected Miza or when he pledged loyalty to the One Eyed King, on top of the fact hes a goofball, I couldn’t help but like the guy. I won’t forget how he improved his vocab through reading because Ken advised his people to do so.
The Quinxes shined ever so brightly, which I expected as I only had good memories of them from the first time I read TG :re. Every single Quinx left a lasting impression on me. All for different reasons. I could talk constantly about each Quinx. Kuki Urie, who had one of the best character arcs I’ve ever seen in animanga, will always be a hero for me. I cannot get over how he turned from an egotistical and self centered dog to a considerate and thoughtful leader. What I really loved about Urie is that his character development was extremely visible. You noticed it in the story and you would notice how you changed from “I hate this dude” to “I love him!”. So much about him had changed, which was conveyed through even the smallest details. I noticed how little he would smile before losing Shirazu, and how much more he smiled when he became Qs leader. That moment where Urie just smiles at the sight of Saiko crying tears of joy after finding out Maman is still alive is so heartwarming. Saiko is the most precious character in TG. I could not get enough of how adorable she was. When she saved Urie after framing out, when she saved Mutsuki on the dragon, when she was hugging Maman when he was still in a coma, or when she was holding Touka’s hand as they waited for Ken to return. On top of giving us heartfelt moments, she was incredible with her kagune and I’m so glad she was the Quinx who had the ability of using her kagune so freely, I felt it really suited her character. Toru Mutsuki probably has one of the creepiest character arcs I’ve ever seen. Normally, I don’t get too affected by fictitious violence, in the sense that I don’t let it lurk in my mind later, but I just could not get over Mutsuki and her story. Chapter 79. No exagerration, Chapter 79 is one of the most sickening and provoking chapters I’ve ever read. Pre Rushima, I loved Mustuki. She reminded me so much of Kaneki before he had met Jason and tragedy occured. The parallels between Mutsuki and Kaneki were very clear throughout the story, even during Rushima and especially during Chapter 79. I could say so much about what that chapter meant and how it made me feel. Kaneki was an example of someone who was able to overcome his demons, whereas Mutsuki was an example of someone who couldn’t. She went onto an absolutely hopeless path as some sort of psychopath which was really painful to see. I could talk endlessly about Mutsuki. As a character, I love her as much as many of my favs. Urie and Mutsuki are perfect examples of side characters that just stick to your mind. I hadn’t read TG in two years, but whenever someone talks about well-written side characters, they spring to mind.
Tumblr media
Furuta was an unbelievable antagonist. Ishida managed to create the TG version of the Joker. Nimura managed to be evil and heartless while running a troll gimmick. I couldn’t help but laugh at his trolling, even in the most serious situations. In addition to the Joker, he reminded me of Aizen. The fact that he has basically planned everything that has happened in the plot, from the moment he dropped the steel beams to the moment Ken eats all of the Oggai, was just so Aizen-esque. As bad as Furuta was, his backstory still broke my heart. The despair he felt stemmed from the world he had to live in and he decided to destroy it all.
Tumblr media
I just have to leave a special mention in this post for Tsukiyama and Hinami. I adore both of them, especially with how :re went on and concluded.
Tumblr media
Kaneki and Touka have a special place in my heart forever. I absolutely adore them and I love them so much. My favourite characters in all of fiction. I can write pages of what I feel and think about them. My sweet eyepatch and darling rabbit. Ishida gave them royalty treatment in every way possible. Everytime they were together in a panel, my heart just filled up with joy.
Tumblr media
TG art is unrivaled. I haven’t and I doubt I will ever come across anything with art like this. It just isn’t something you can replicate or imitate. Every drawing manages to convey different feelings and ideas.. I never truly understood the beauty of art until I read Tokyo Ghoul. It isn’t just a drawing or depiction of a certain scenario. It bursts out at you with emotion. There are obviously other manga which have got amazing art. Berserk and Vagabond come to mind. I just feel TG art contains so many thought and emotion provoking layers to it while simultaneously being aesthetically pleasing. The art is obviously one of the main appeals of TG. You could pull almost any panel and I guarantee it would look amazing. A panel may provoke fear, sadness, despair, joy, amazement, or a bundle of different emotions in you when looking at it. Chapter 145 is a perfect example. An entire chapter with no speech at all. An entire chapter of nothing but beautiful spreads and panels depicting the destructive and chaotic nature of the dragon. “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
Tumblr media
What I really love about Tokyo Ghoul and what I believe attracts me to it the most are the themes and ideas that Ishida is constantly trying to convey, and how so many of them are directly applicable to the real world. Tokyo Ghoul gave me so many life lessons on so many different things. Whether it was related to loneliness, relationships, discrimination, inner peace, normalcy in life, the purpose of life and moving forward. It all comes to mind when reading TG. Each theme or idea is obviously interconneted with the others, and I really feel that they’re directly applicable to the world we live in. We obviously don’t have to deal with ghouls, but many of the struggles and conflicts that our beloved characters faced reminded me of the things we face in our everyday lives. I could relate to some of the things that they showed in the manga in relation to these ideas. “This world is wrong.” I haven’t come across any line in anime or manga that stuck with me like this did, until I read :re. “The world isn’t wrong. It just is.” The way grey morality was depicted in TG in relation to what is right or wrong is an issue I feel strongly exists in our world, especially in today’s day and age. This is probably because the setting and events in Tokyo Ghoul remind me so much of the things happening in our world. TG just had the perfect mix of fiction and reality. I was immersed in a different world that was filled with ghouls and humans while somewhat keeping me linked to reality. I don’t really know how to put it into words. If I had to explain it, I guess it kept me fully engaged in this fictional setting where ghouls existed, where I would just constantly think about and get anxious, sad, or excited over the characters. At the same time, the events and dialogue taking place in the story constantly made me go back and think about the real world and how it relates or applies to reality. I was absorbed by this fictitious world while always thinking about how it relates to our world.
I just have to mention how special the writing and storytelling in TG is. I noticed such things individually and got to do my research on them, in addition to discovering other aspects to his writing and drawings from reddit. In Tokyo Ghoul, it was clear from the start that every single panel, drawing and piece of dialogue served a purpose. There was always some sort of significance to whatever Ishida was showing us. A panel could include either subtle details in his art, such as the constant tarot card hints or the habits the characters had like Kaneki touching his chin or Mutsuki clenching her arm. A panel could directly imply something, such as making a literature reference. This added more depth in relation to the story, the characters and what Ishida wanted to convey through various methods of symbolism. Reading about the context of the tarot cards, literature references and metaphors made the story much more interesting. It helped us understand the TG characters on a deeper level in terms of what themes they symbolize and what role in the story they represent.
I feel like I’ve written a good share on Tokyo Ghoul for now. I understand that much of what I said might seem all over the place, but I just wanted to speak from the heart. I have so much more to speak on, which I will probably do in other posts. I guess my final words on this have to be:
I LOVE TOKYO GHOUL!

Hi!! I was wondering if you could write a dadzawa fic where his daughter blames herself for what happens to him in the manga because she feels like she wasn’t helpful in the fight and that her quirk isn’t as great as her dads? Maybe some comfort from him and talking our their trauma together? :)
You Blame Yourself - Dadzawa Comfort
Tumblr media
A/N: Hi! I haven’t read the manga, so sadly I don’t know what you mean and I don’t want to google it and spoil it for myself, so I’m sorry! But I didn’t want to ignore your request, so I’m basing it around the USJ attack. Hope that’s ok!”
You remember that day as if it were yesterday. The league appeared in the middle of USJ. You and your classmates being split up. Fighting your way back to your father. Seeing his limp body smashed in the concrete. Getting a strong whiff of iron. All you could see was blood. Your father’s blood. All Might was there, fighting the creature that had done this to Aizawa. You couldn’t just stand by and watch the scene unfold. No, your father raised you to never hold back in a fight. But he also taught you to never bite more than you can chew.
Your quirk was an exact replica of Aizawa’s, you just couldn’t use it as well. No one could blame you, you’re young.
You had made it to safety up with your classmates and other pro-heros, trying to fight your way to the front to see what was going on. Present Mic was there, holding you back.
“No, Y/N,” he said sternly. “You don’t need to see this.”
“Where’s dad?” you demanded. “Move, Mic!” You shoved him, but he didn’t move. You caught a glimpse over his shoulder, though, the sight startled you.
“Y/N, get out of here,” Mic pleaded. “Eraser’s ok, I promise.”
“The hell he’s not!” You screamed, tears brimming your eyes. “Let me help!” You activated your quirk, h/c hair rising in the air along with your capture weapon. “Let me do what dad can’t right now!”
Mic held you tightly, then sighed. “Fine, but you’re staying up here, out of sight.” He passed you to Kirishima, who was watching anxiously from behind. “Keep her up here. I’m going down there.” When the red-head nodded, Mic screamed, using his quirk as he got closer to the nomu.
You tried your hardest to keep your eyes open, but the temptation to close them was growing stronger. You felt weak, and like the villains below you were too strong for you. Your body felt heavy.
“Y/N, you ok?” Kirishima asked worriedly. “Maybe you should---”
“No,” you muttered, blinking before reactivating your quirk. “I’m ok.” Not a moment passed before your eyes slipped shut again and Kirishima had to catch you before you hit the ground.
Fast forward a few weeks, and you were curled up in the corner of the couch in your home. Aizawa was out of his cast, and moving on his own. Hizashi kept a close eye on him from the counter as Aizawa made himself a cup of coffee.
“Would you like a cup Y/N?” Aizawa asked from the kitchen.
You shook your head no, not daring to meet his eyes. You felt guilty, like you could have done more to help him during the USJ attack. “No, thank you.”
“You sure?” he asked in reassurance. “You haven’t been sleeping well. I can tell."
“Everything alright, listener?” Hizashi rose from the counter and walked over to sit beside you on the couch. “You’ve been quiet.”
Aizawa came over as well, kneeling in front of you. He sat his freshly made cup of coffee on the floor beside him. “Y/N, look at me.”
Your hair hid your gaze from your dad, but both him and Hizashi heard you sniffle, then watched as you wiped at your eyes. “No.”
“Y/N,” Aizawa said sternly. “Loo. At. Me.” When you didn’t answer him, he turned to Hizashi. “Can you give us a minute?” The blonde nodded, rubbed your shoulder gently, then walked down the hall and to his study room.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered shakily, beginning to cry. “I’m so sorry, dad.”
“Honey, what for?” The older man rested a hand on your knee and rubbed it gently. “You have nothing to be sorry for.”
“I should have done something,” you responded, sniffling. “I could have done more. If only, if--”
“Hey, no ifs.” Aizawa stood slowly with a grimace, then sat down beside you on the couch. He wrapped his arms around you and slowly pulled you into him. “Part of becoming a hero is making mistakes. It also means learning not to think ‘what if…’. That only makes everything worse.” Shouta pressed a soft kiss to the top of your head. “You did amazing back there,” he reassured. “Kirishima and Hizashi told me what you did, how you took over for me when I passed out. And I’m so proud of you.” He rubbed a hand up and down your arm as you leaned into him. “You’ve grown so much. You haven’t been able to use your quirk that far away yet.”
You sniffled with a giggle, wiping at your nose with your sleeve. “Yeah, I’m pretty proud of that.”
“You should be.” Aizawa sighed and looked away for a moment. “You know, I kind of feel the same way, like I could have done more.” He smiled gently down at you, finally meeting his gaze. “Here’s another lesson, talk about things. Never hold them in. Whether you talk to me, or ‘Zashi, other teachers, or a therapist. Trauma isn’t funny. Don’t think I haven’t noticed how you have nightmares every night now.”
“How did you know?” you asked quietly. “I’m sorry, I thought I was being quiet.”
“Don’t apologize,” Shouto responded. “And, I know because I’ve been having them too. And so I get up about four times a night just to check on you and Hizashi.”
You hummed, “oh, That’s why I keep waking up, if it’s not from a nightmare.”
“It’s just me,” Aizawa reassured. He pressed another kiss to your head. “Do you feel any better?”
You nodded slowly, thinking. “Yeah, I think so. There’s still things I want to talk about, but I don’t think I’m ready. I think I’ll talk to my therapist about it.”
“Good deal.” Aizawa stood with a grunt. “Now come with me to go check on your other dad. He’s probably worried sick. You know how he is.”
You laughed quietly, jumping up and hugging Aizawa’s arm. You clung to him like your life depended on it because in the end, you’re only 15, but you still needed your dad there every once in a while.

Trafalgar Law Character Study, Part 16/? (Dressrosa, Part 6)
So. It’s been…just over eight years. But I’ve had some requests to continue the analysis posts I’d been doing way back when and since I’m finally caught up with the manga again it seemed like as good a time as any to start doing that!
[Part One] // [Part Two] // [Part Three] // [Part Four] // [Part Five] // [Part Six] // [Part Seven] // [Part Eight] // [Part Nine] // [Part Ten] // [Part Eleven] // [Part Twelve] // [Part Thirteen] // [Part Fourteen] // [Part Fifteen]
The first thing I want to say is that I haven’t gone back and read all of the previous posts in this series so just a general warning that there might be questions/speculation within those that we actually have concrete answers to almost ten years later so if something doesn’t quite match up with canon that’s probably why! Most of the actual character-related things about Law should still be accurate, though…
Oh boy I picked a good group of chapters to come back to, huh? Let me just say that reading these in real time was…an experience…a very stressful experience…so back then the last thing I was worried about was character analysis but looking at it years later there’s actually a lot of important things that happen!
Tumblr media
The first of which is that obviously we know by now that this isn’t what Cora wanted at all, but Law’s spent so many years convincing himself that it is that this…specter of Doflamingo that’s been haunting him is almost more powerful than the real thing and that’s caused him to combine Cora’s wish for him to be free with Doflamingo being defeated to the point that he can’t separate the two any longer.
Tumblr media
This whole section is to set up Law’s reveal that he also carries the Will of D but it’s still kind of amusing to have him asking these seemingly random questions about Luffy during the middle of a literal life-and-death battle. There’s also this running theme with Law where despite the fact that this is something both he and Luffy share, he always seems to place more importance on Luffy than himself. Obviously we know that he has no idea what the Will of D actually is so I think this is more just based on his own personality, but it’s interesting nonetheless.
Tumblr media
Somehow I still see people discussing whether Law’s any good with Armament Haki when he’s using it right here and certainly not at full strength but it’s very interesting that Doflamingo becomes one of the few characters in the entire series to know this about Law. Law’s never really flaunted the D initial like a lot of others that have it but that seems to mostly be due to his family wanting to keep it a secret and not based on his own feelings, though this scene in particular I think is meant to mirror the reveal of Doflamingo being a Celestial Dragon because that was something Law could never have accounted for but now he’s got an equally pertinent piece of information to catch Doflamingo off-guard.
Tumblr media
And while it doesn’t exactly work as intended, Law was trying to distract him enough to get Doflamingo to make a mistake and that’s exactly what happened so if nothing else he gets a good hit in. Still, for all of Doflamingo’s denial that the whole ‘fated enemies’ idea isn’t true, he’s getting very defensive about it so it makes you wonder…
Tumblr media
So Law’s not…wrong about this, since Cora overhearing his full name was what seemingly first got him interested in this whole quest to save Law so in that way it could certainly be looked at as a catalyst of sorts. And it’s also true that Cora probably wouldn’t have been able to kill Doflamingo despite going so far as to point a gun at him, but I do genuinely believe that—in a different series where the narrative would allow such a thing—Law would have killed Doflamingo here.
Tumblr media
I really like this group of panels because Doflamingo is seeing Law as he was the first time they met: as someone so angry and disenchanted with the entire world and so resigned to their fate that the only thing that registers is this compulsive need to cause destruction. At the time Doflamingo had said he saw himself in Law because of that, but now that it’s being directed solely at him I’m sure the impact of that is quite different. It’s also a bit of a sign for us as readers to connect the two since Law’s grown and changed a lot from that time and he attributes it mostly to being ‘saved’ because of Cora but this shows that side of him that was created out of losing everything and everyone he loved all at once is still something he can bring out under the right circumstances.
Tumblr media
Doflamingo actually says a lot of things in this part that are kind of an insight into what Law’s thinking, and this is one of them. Law’s usually a lot more calculated and careful with his plans, but because of Bellamy deciding to distract Luffy he’s completely alone and has pretty much no tricks left so the only thing he can do is throw whatever he’s got at Doflamingo and hope something works.
Tumblr media
This, however, isn’t exactly accurate. I do believe that if all of Law’s initial plans had come to fruition that he would have been content with Kaido taking care of Doflamingo in his place (since, in the end, he’s at least accepting of the fact that Luffy’s the one to do it) but for a variety of reasons that…didn’t happen, and with him being by himself in this position and being so close I think he does let his emotions get the better of him in the end.
Tumblr media
Law’s still so calm and rational here and I think it’s because he’s resigned to whatever’s going to happen, but this is an interesting comment because Doflamingo loves trying to make people feel guilty for things that weren’t their fault and he’s attempting to blame everything that happened in Dressrosa completely on Law giving that letter to Vergo instead of any other Marine. But this is the first time that Doflamingo acknowledges that what he did to the Riku family and the country as a whole was a ‘tragedy’ and you can tell from his reaction that he didn’t even realize he’d done so until Law pointed it out.
Tumblr media
Looking back at this now it holds a bit of a different connotation but in this moment Law was fully prepared to die and content with that in terms of him feeling as though he’d achieved Cora’s goal (even though he really hadn’t). However, it also still holds true in the present because while his own goals have changed drastically, everything is still being done with Cora in mind…though now it feels far more like a tribute as opposed to the pure revenge it became up until the end of Dressrosa.
Tumblr media
Doflamingo’s fully capable of using his ability to kill but he prefers a gun instead and once again we get the mention of lead bullets so between those (twice in this arc now) and amber lead Law’s having a bad time with that particular element. I won’t get too much into how Doflamingo considers the executions he’s done as mercy killings and the only way for people to ‘atone’ for the sin of having the audacity to stand up to him, but I’m still amazed that Law was already almost running on empty and got his arm chopped off and he’s somehow conscious and coherent at this moment.
Tumblr media
I have no idea how Law managed to get a tourniquet for his arm with everything going on but in this instance Doflamingo’s completely right: Law hasn’t been living for himself for a long time and everything he’s done has been with this singular goal in mind to the point where he really can’t pull himself away from it.
Tumblr media
Considering the repetition that Law has some higher power looking out for him that happened throughout his flashback, I’m inclined to think this is actually foreshadowing that Law’s going to get out of this somehow even though reading it week by week it…didn’t exactly seem like it at the time… Doflamingo’s got some real guts still trying to get Law to make him immortal after everything, though.
Tumblr media
Look, Law flips him off in the very next panel, but this is as blatant a ‘go fuck yourself’ as he could have ever given. Earlier in the arc he claimed to not care about the people of Dressrosa but now that Doflamingo’s been trying to guilt him into feeling responsible for their plight he’s using that as part of his way of firing back at Doflamingo for things that were done entirely by his own hand. At the very least, it’s good to know Law isn’t blaming himself for any of it.
Tumblr media
Besides the callback to him doing this when we first met him, what’s really important here is that even facing certain death (and at this point I’m inclined to believe he did think it was certain, but I’ll get into that more in the future…) he’s trusting not only in Luffy but in all of the Strawhats to see the plan through and succeed. That’s a lot of faith to have in people he hasn’t known for very long and speaks to how he truly views them and what he thinks they’re capable of.
Tumblr media
Doflamingo gets careless when he’s angry and I think this was Law’s final Hail Mary in the sense that if anything was going to save him it was Doflamingo’s rage making his aim unsteady. It’s also somewhat ironic that Doflamingo is listing all of these things that were born from Cora’s love for Law and Law’s desire to acknowledge and remember that as if they’re something he has ownership over and is solely responsible for when that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Tumblr media
This has nothing to do with Law himself but let me tell you that this image of Luffy only noticing the state Law’s in because there’s so much blood on the roof that he literally slips on it has stuck with me since the chapter came out and it’s so visceral and such a visual indication of how intense Doflamingo’s rage was in that moment.
Tumblr media
‘He really seemed to trust you’ just hits me in the gut because once again Doflamingo’s up to his old ‘make someone else feel guilty’ tricks (and for Luffy it would hit especially hard given what happened with Ace and how he feels about not being able to save the people he cares about) but also it’s just…true. Law trusts Luffy so much and even at this point some of the fandom was convinced he was going to betray the Strawhats when that shouldn’t have even been a consideration any longer.
Tumblr media
And again we get the idea of the Strawhats being able to work ‘miracles’, though in this case it’s simply Doflamingo mocking Law’s words and not putting any belief in it himself, but this was…probably one of the worst chapters to have to wait a week for the continuation. The one bit of hope we get is Law’s single speech bubble at the end telling Luffy to listen to him but that was…very little to go off of…
Well, that seems like a great and happy place to end this part! I hope you enjoyed (?) and please do feel free to like and reblog; especially after so long I’m not sure how many people are still around who want to read something like this so it helps inspire me to keep going!

bit of a long ask incoming, sorry in advance
I haven’t caught up with the Yuumori manga in a long time, but I’ve heard Takeuchi is no longer working on it and that the light novels are by someone else. And despite Sherlock’s considerable importance in the main story, he hasn’t shown up in the light novels at all (except for the school AU extras that I think Miyoshi has added?)
Now i know Yuumori is about Moriarty, obviously and not sherlock (in the sense that sherlock is not the protagonist). But here’s the thing: i used to be a pretty big fan of ace attorney a few years back (i still like it but it’s not a hyper fixation anymore) and I remember a friend of mine telling me that in the middle, the original creator, Shu Takumi, stepped back and someone else wrote the storylines for some of the cases (Atsushi Inaba I think) (for those of you who may read this and are familiar with AA, i think it’s the cases involving Iris and Dahlia)
Up to that point, there had been thinly concealed chemistry between the male leads, phoenix wright and miles edgeworth. But when Inaba took over, miles was written out completely and a girlfriend shoehorned for Phoenix (they’re not endgame and she’s not a recurring character but still). And this happened because the main writer wasn’t involved.
Now I may be paranoid, but I’m just worried a similar thing might happen to Yuumori. Sherliam is very dear to me (as is the series!) and I really liked how it all ended in part 1. Now sherlock isn’t there at all, and I hope that they don’t shoehorn some shoddily written love interest who has no chemistry with whoever she’ll end up with (Yuumori is a shounen after all, and this has happened in shounen before) . I have faith in Miyoshi, and maybe I’m being silly, but after AA it’s kind of a worry
So, the light novels were actually written a while back (before anything about part one ending, part two, or Takeuchi leaving was out). They are written by someone else entirely.
Miyoshi actually enjoyed the novels and wished they had gotten a chance to draw some things from them (more than the pages inserted in the novels). And Sherlock is in one or two of the light novel stories. They just haven't been adapted into the manga, possibly because Miyoshi wasn't compelled by those ones to draw while figuring out part two, or perhaps because we just haven't gotten there yet.
That said, it's still not clear (and possibly never will be) how much of the story was written by which of our original creators. The idea was from Miyoshi's editor, and Takeuchi didn't join the project until after Sherlock and William were already developed as characters. I do have another interview from Miyoshi I picked up in Japan that I have...still not sat down to read, so maybe that has more information.
Takeuchi isn't credited with writing the series; he's credited with storyboards. And you can see the lack of that work in the Remains (the pacing is off now), but the characters have been pretty consistent.
Anyway, I think it's too earlier to worry about Sherlock and William's relationship in part two. We have no idea what part two is going to be like or going to be about. And if it sucks, we have the end of part one, which would have been a really lovely wrap for the series anyway, and people who don't like where it goes can just. Stop.

The Summer Hikaru Died-光るが死んだ夏
HORROR, SUPERNATURAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL
The Summer Hikaru Died by Mokumoku Ren
(2 volumes, ongoing)
Recently announced that Yen Press will be publishing the EN release!
Links to my other manga posts here
光るが死んだ夏/Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu or The Summer Hikaru Died is a series I knew nothing about and picked up on a whim. I decided to swing by the bookstore eariler this year on my way home one day and the brilliantly blue cover caught my eye. All I had to go off of was the title, which successfully made me ask, “What happened to Hikaru?”
Tumblr media
I feel like the blue is more blue irl
Occasionally, I like to just walk into the bookstore and take a chance on something I know nothing about, no expectations, and see where it goes. Some duds, yeah, but I’ve gotten some real winners doing this, too.
I’d say this one was a winner. Honestly it had me within the first few pages.
Tumblr media
***Please look up content warnings***
I read this series by volume, and at the time of this post, the second volume recently came out but I haven’t gotten my hands on it yet, so this is my impressions of volume one. Might update my thoughts when I get volume two.
I remember partway through the first volume, I immedately texted my friend and told them to read this. They did, and proceeded to overshoot where I am, up to the most recently released chapter at the time. Safe to say, they also got hooked.
Taking place in the countryside where strange things are happening, this manga is amazing at setting its eerie mood and feels very immersive. One of my favorite things is how the author incorperated the sound effects into the pages and panels. It’s like I can actually hear the sounds and that I’m surrounded by them. The art is chef’s kiss as well 👌🏽
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another thing that stood out to me is how we aren’t shown too much. Some things are left up to our immagination, or we fill in the gap. There are mysteries and horror that I think suffer from showing us too much, doesn’t surpass what we imagined or expected, and end up disappointing.
Tumblr media
The hand...If you know, you know...
I’m excited to see how the localization for this will look like with the sound effect typesetting and how the accents of the characters will be conveyed! I’m a sucker for anyone who speaks regional dialects lollll

Note
Forgive me for asking, I’ve been off Tumblr for a bit 😅 Also not really caught up in the new chapters, I do check out spoilers but it hasn’t piqued my interest lately although I still like the manga/anime. Other things have caught my eye right now! But in regards to your post on the 16th about “liking MHA” again, were you taking a break? Or just lost interest for the time being? Feel like I haven’t seen your posts in awhile lol
Oh LOL yeah I remember that, it was me saying I feel like I'm ready to come out of being on break from the manga. However that was short lived and I will be staying on break until it appears that the real meat Tomura and Izuku's personal conflict is front and center again. Until then, I'm not interested enough to follow everything closely and I will just read it all at once when I'm ready to get back into it.
I also still love the story. I'm super excited for the ending, super excited to see the end games for the characters I am invested in. But the manga's pacing is not great for weekly release, it tests my patience, and also the release schedule is frustrating with all the breaks. So I am saving myself the frustration and staying away from weekly releases until what I care about is back in focus. At this point I've seen plenty of Toga/Ocha and the Todorokis and would really like to see my two favs actually make progress in their conflict, but it seems like it'll be a while before that happens. So I'm just bare minimum peaking at leaks to see the character focus of the chapter and then dipping out until I see what I want to see.
I will also be excited when season 7 drops! And that will keep me involved with the fandom to an extent ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_
And yeah I haven't posted for a while. I've also more or less been absent from fandom spaces. My internet interactions have slowed in all aspects. It's kind of a phase where online activity just isn't of interest to me at this time. I fluctuate though, so I'll return at some point. At this time, real life is interesting enough to keep me offline, and it's nice. I've enjoyed my much more balanced time spent in internet/real life lately.
I've also found other interests anyway, like Hazbin Hotel, Black Butler, Oshi no Ko, all those things keeping my mind busy for the time being until BNHA reels me back in. All contributing to my silence lol.
I'll be back tho when it's time. Apologies in advance!

Anime I Watched in 2022: Part 3
21. Summertime Rendering 1,000,000/10
Anime of the year award goes to this masterpiece. This show was so severely overlooked that it should be considered a crime against humanity. This was the best time travel anime I’ve ever watched. The MC was so incredibly smart that it was such a breath of fresh air. Every time you think you understand the plot BAM something unexpected happens. Folks if you haven’t watched this as yet please, please, please give it a watch.
Tumblr media
22. The Deer King 4/5
I know a lot of people said that this plot was predictable and the movie was bland but I absolutely loved it. The characters were so endearing that you just fell in love. The animation was stunning and the soundtrack was lovely. Also that doctor looked so much like Xie Lian that I almost cried.
Tumblr media
23. Cyberpunk Edgerunners 3.5/5
Urghhh. *SPOILERS AHEAD* Everyone loved it. I wanted to love it. The problem was he was warned so many times about overusing his equipment to the point where I knew he wasn’t to live at the end. Even the communication between him and Lucy was so painful to watch. Their story could’ve gone so much better if they’d only communicated with each other. Props to the studio for the top class animation as well as a killer soundtrack but even that wasn’t enough to make me like this series.
Tumblr media
24. Magi 4/5
This one has nostalgia all over it. It reminded me of the anime I looked at when I just got into anime. The characters were all so well done and the development was perfect. The plot was somewhat predictable but again nostalgia made up for it. I heard the manga gets better so I’ll definitely check that out
Tumblr media
25. Cautious Hero 5/5
This is a perfect example of how to do a comedy anime right. You never knew where the plot was heading. The comedic timing of the FMC was just right and the jokes never got repetitive or tiresome. When you think it’s just comedy the tragic plot slaps you in the face bring you back to reality that the world is a cold dead place. But seriously everyone should watch this to understand how a comedy anime should be done.
Tumblr media
26. The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting 5/5
Ahhhh this was just kawaii!!!! No more explanation needed. Just a dangerously hot guy Babysitting his boss’s daughter. Folks enjoy!
Tumblr media
27. Yuri on Ice infinity/10
This show called me single, sad and lonely in so many different languages. I went into this one completely blind and I was hooked from the intro. I’m not kidding, when I saw the intro for the first time I burst into tears; don’t ask me why and don’t get me started about the ending. The animation in this was smooth, the storyline: gripping, the romance: superb. I heard a movie is in the works so I’m absolutely looking forward to that
Tumblr media
28. Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon 4/5
This is where I’m reminded of my mother’s words of don’t judge a book by its cover or in this case an anime by its name. This kept showing up as a recommended for me to watch but I kept ignoring it until boredom got the best of me. While the plot was not perfect, the animation, ost and characters made up for it.
Tumblr media
29. Romantic Killer 5/5
When I tell you that I laughed out loud with this one I sincerely mean it. Holy shit this one caught me off guard. I think this was probably the only anime I binged in one sitting; it was that good. A lot of critics said the plot was predictable but nuts to them because I had no idea what was going on. I was too busy trying to get oxygen back to my brain from laughing so much. My favorite thing about this show was that there was absolutely no ecchi scenes! Just a regular high school girl trying to live her regular reclusive life.
Tumblr media
30. Raven of the Inner Place 5/5
I don’t know what drew me into giving this one a chance but whatever it was I’d like to thank them. This was another hidden gem for this year. A mysterious plot, intriguing characters, LOTS of angst, combined with a touch of barely there romance made a crave for more each week. I really, really hope we get another season because it’s cruel to end it where they did.

Yuu can do it!
What if all three Yuus (from the novel, manga, and game) were sent to the same world?
Part 12
(Link to previous)
(Masterlist)
Now, you may be wondering how exactly they ended up going back into the mines. Well, Deuce was actually really good at talking to people, figuring out what they want, and bargaining –.
… no? Not going to believe that? Okay, fair, that’s not what happened.
See, the moment Ace declared that he was going to just allow expulsion and a couple of the gathered people thought they might just agree, Deuce turned on his heel, grabbed Kuroki by the arm – he needed someone with brain cells to accompany him and Kuroki was the easiest to overpower – and marched right back down the way they came.
But then, Kuroki (who, assumedly, just didn’t want to suffer alone) tightened the grip he already had on Ito’s sleeve. And Ito caught Grim’s tail and started pulling him along like some sort of demented balloon because the monster should not be left alone… and Grim immediately bit Ace’s arm to try and ground himself, but Ace was not fond of the idea of shredding his arm to pieces and therefore ended up following along.
Ace did try to grab ahold of Enma to complete the chain of very disgruntled teens but missed by centimeters.
Enma was the only one to follow on his own accord. Which was why he was one of the two people that was not cursing.
(The other person who wasn’t cursing was Ito, who was just along for the ride at this point.)
“I don’t think we’re getting out of this, so… any ideas?” Kuroki asked Ito. “I don’t think we can kill that thing, but maybe we can get it to let go of the lamp? Or even just open it?”
Ito yawned into their shoulder, as their arms were otherwise occupied. “I dunno man, I haven’t had enough Coke to deal with this today.”
“You do cocaine?!” Enma said, eyes wide.
The line of idiots stopped to stare at the somehow even bigger idiot.
“Coke. Like the drink,” said Deuce. You know it’s bad when even Deuce is looking at you like you’re stupid.
“They were drinking Coke earlier, Enma-chan. Use context clues,” Kuroki said, lips tugging upward at the corners.
Poor Enma blushed bright red. Ito sighed and elbowed Kuroki in the side with a whisper that he should be nicer, which earned little more than an eyeroll.
“I wasn’t really paying attention to the label,” he grumbled before he said, louder: “Its head was made of glass, right?”
Kuroki shrugged. “Or something that looks like it.”
“It might be worth checking,” Ito said, tipping their head to the side thoughtfully. “It could be a major weak point.”
“We should be aiming for the head anyways… I mean…” Enma snickered. “Where does the fish rot from? The head! Take out the head and the whole thing goes down. That’s why a fisherman always goes for… the head!”
“Weird tone you used just now, but yeah,” Kuroki said. “I mean, most animals are most vulnerable there.”
Ace scratched the back of his head. “Hey, Juice –?”
“Deuce! With a Deu! And we aren’t that close yet!”
“Yeah, whatever. Juice, think you can summon a cauldron on top of this thing? That might work, right?”
Deuce sent Ace a glare but then furrowed his eyebrows thoughtfully, the hand that wasn’t dragging along a veritable conga line of people coming up to cradle his chin. “Possibly?”
“The cave ceiling is too low for that,” Ito cut in, shaking their head. “It was already hunched over, there’s no way a cauldron could fit above it, let alone get enough momentum to do damage.”
Ace clicked his tongue. “I could try launching cauldrons at it with my wind magic.”
“Yeah, probably for the best that you stay back and do ranged attacks, since your leg is all banged up,” Kuroki agreed. Then, he smiled. “I’ll stand back with you and be moral support.”
“Henchman, hit the other Henchman for me?” Grim said, finally letting go of Ace’s arm.
Ace tried to make a run for it again, but was stopped by Enma.
As for what Grim said…
Who was Ito to deny their new master? Ito cuffed Kuroki over the back of the head without hesitation. And then Enma also cuffed Kuroki over the back of the head, because who really knows which ‘Henchman’ Grim was talking about? Best to be safe.
Everyone ignored Kuroki when he complained about this.
Enma even put in the effort to talk over him: “But, before we try all the murder-y stuff… can I try something?” He asked.
“As long as you promise it’s not stupid,” Ito shrugged.
Spoiler alert: it was even stupider than they had thought it would be.
Enma ushered everyone behind an overturned minecart and then strode out confidently. “Hey!”
(Ito buried their face in their hands, their shoulders heaving in a silent sigh.)
The monster whipped around, the inky black goo in its head shifting to form an exclamation point.
He smiled in the face of danger. Not literally, though – the goo monster did not, in fact, have a face.
“Well… sir…? Ma’am…? Monster of indiscriminate gender…?” Enma cleared his throat awkwardly and reached his hand into his pocket, pulling out a couple of the glowing gems. “I have a couple of stones –.”
The goo started to boil and its grip tightened on its pickaxe. “Stones… MINE…!”
“I know, I know!” Enma said, holding his hands up in a placating gesture. “But I couldn’t help but notice that some of them aren’t the kind that you like.” He walked over to the stone that they had seen the monster dismiss earlier and plucked it from the wall. “So, may I have those?”
It was silent for a moment.
“Okay.”
The group of teenagers watched, slack-jawed, as Enma sat down beside the monster and started emptying his pockets. The monster set down his pickaxe and lantern so it could check over the stones.
Enma watched carefully, knees drawn to his chest, and seemed to genuinely be interested in which stones the monster picked up and which ones he didn’t –.
Hold on.
“That motherfucker,” hissed Kuroki. “He’s using this as an excuse to learn about the magestones!”
Ito sighed. “Whatever works.”
“He doesn’t know about magestones?” Ace asked, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
Ito and Kuroki glanced at each other.
Ito sighed. “C’mon. Let’s go sneak over and grab the stone. Trappola-san is injured, Grim-san doesn’t have thumbs, and Kuroki-san is…”
They decided it was best not to say anything rude aloud. Kuroki gave them an offended look regardless, because he wasn’t dumb enough to think that trailing off was a good thing.
Ace, however, was frowning for a different reason: “Wait, why are you guys acting suspi –?!”
Ito was already leaving, though, dragging Deuce by the arm. They were grateful that the monster currently playing tea party with Enma was around, if only because that meant that Ace was hesitant to yell after them.
Honestly, how Enma expected the next part of the plan to work was, really, beyond them. They managed to sneak over, their shadows barely flickering in the strange, colorful light of the cave, and kept themselves from making a sound as they crept up to the lantern… but they still had to steal the magestone.
Y’know, the magestone. The thing that was providing quite a lot of light? Yeah, no, trying to grab that went about as terribly as one might imagine.
Deuce and Ito had only barely managed to lift the stone up and out – the gemstones around it spilled out, displaced by the movement, but Ito had thought far enough ahead to set their jacket down to muffle the sound – before the monster noticed that the light was moving strangely (in that the light was moving at all).
The giant, glass head whipped around to look at them.
“That’s… MINE…!”
They broke into a sprint.
But running while carrying something between you is hard, and Ito was having trouble not tripping over the many gems that littered the floor in their haste, and they ran at completely different speeds naturally, and the monster was much larger than them.
The monster grabbed its pickaxe. “STOP!” It wailed.
They did not. So, it swung on them.
The good news was that they managed to drop to the ground in time to not get murdered.
The bad news was that the pickaxe continued on to hit one of the many fragile wooden beams that held up the cave ceilings. And, well, it turns out those are very important, because the ceiling was quick to cave in.
It took a good five minutes for the rocks to settle, and another minute or two before Ito slowly shifted out from the tiny pile of rocks that had gathered around them. They looked around, hand over their nose and mouth to try and keep the dust away.
Kuroki, it seemed, had not done the same – he was coughing like a maniac into the front of his shirt. Grim looked mildly panicked as he floated around him, ordering Kuroki to get better as if that would somehow do anything.
Enma had moved to hide behind the lantern and the monster, which apparently thought he was trying to steal even more of its precious magestones, had turned its attention onto him. Enma didn’t seem very pleased by this (he screamed at the top of his lungs as he ran literal circles around the monster, doing his best to avoid the giant pickaxe that was currently trying to kill him).
And then, next to them at the wall of rocks, was Ace and Deuce. Not because they were helping Ito out, though. Ace was frantically trying to dig his way out, hissing curses as he threw rock after rock over his shoulder. Deuce looked pretty out of it, clutching the magestone to his chest like it was a teddy bear and not a giant gem… but that could just be Deuce being Deuce, to be honest.
Ito sighed and slowly pushed themselves to their feet. They leaned over Deuce and tugged on his uniform coat until they could draw it closed around him and the gemstone. This made the teen boy look like he was pregnant, but at least the monster would be unlikely to notice the gem. They gave the boy a pat on the head when he stared up at them blankly (a very light pat, because the kid was definitely concussed), then continued on to go help Enma.
Kuroki reached for Ito when they passed and they stopped, leaning against the minecart that their group had been hiding behind and tipping their head to the side inquisitively.
Ito watched with a frown as their dormmate struggled to breathe around his coughs and wondered, idly, if they should invest in an inhaler for him.
“It… covered its head…” Kuroki wheezed. “From the rocks!”
Ito considered this, then they sighed and grabbed one of the abandoned pickaxes. “Guess we will have a use for this,” they said, twirling it once in their hand before turning to look at Grim. They held it out to the monster. “I’ll deal with Kuroki. Try and stick this in its head, that could give us leverage.”
Grim’s lips curled into a sneer. “I guess Henchmen can come up with good plans every once in a while.”
Ito hummed a little and waited for the monster to grab the pickaxe with its teeth before turning to Kuroki. “Let’s get you out of the way, hm?”
“You’re way… too calm!” Kuroki wheezed as he allowed them to sling his arm over their shoulders.
They smiled and brought a hand up to pinch his cheek. “And you’re not calm enough. Gotta make up for that somehow, right?”
He gave them an incredulous look, which was fair enough. They sighed and dragged him over to Deuce.
“Watch each other, m’kay?”
“Alright –,” started Ace.
Ito grabbed him by the ear before he could sit beside the pair of panicked teens. “Nope. Not you. You’re coming with me.”
“Eh?!”
Ito rolled their eyes. “Relax. I only need you for one thing.” Then, because Ace didn’t have an actual choice in this, they tugged on his ear.
“Ow! Okay, okay, I’m coming…”
They dragged him back over to the minecart to watch.
Grim was buzzing around the monster’s head like a particularly large and annoying mosquito. He even had his own buzzing sound of sorts, the pickaxe held between sharp teeth making a constant tink, tink, tink sound as it chipped away at the glass.
Enma had taken to hiding behind a stalagmite (stalagmite had a g, something they knew only thanks to Harry Potter) and had started to throw any magestones he could reach at the monster.
Ito made a face at him.
“What? It said it wanted them!”
They rolled their eyes and tried to respond, but Enma was saved from a scathing review of his sense of humor by Grim finally managing to do some real damage with the pickaxe.
(Not because it had distracted them from their tirade, but because the monster’s wailing had drowned them out.)
Black sludge spilled from the spiderweb of cracks created by the pickaxe and the monster wailed louder, large hands coming up to try and stem the ‘blood’ coming from the wound.
For just a moment, the teens hesitated. They were killing this thing. Sure, it was a monster, but so was Grim. And, really, it had been nice enough before it had realized they were stealing from it. Could they blame it for being mad at a group of thieves? Was protecting itself and its property really a crime that should be punishable by death?
Ito pressed their lips together thinly and looked over at the exit that was currently blocked off by a mess of rocks, gems, and boulders. They weren’t going to be able to get out with the stone, and there was no point in leaving without it because the Yuus would be homeless in an unknown world and Ace and Deuce would have to go home and tell their parents that they had been expelled on the first day.
Grim came to settle on their shoulders. The weight was comforting, they thought.
They sighed and nodded their head to the minecart in front of them. “I know it’s not one of Deuce’s cauldrons, but it should do, right?”
Ace looked at them with wide eyes for a moment before pulling a smirk to his face. It was fake, they knew, his skin was too pale for them to believe him… but he still drew his pen.
“Time to prove your aim is better than that Deuce guy’s, right?” Grim said.
Ace nodded firmly and, his eyes narrowed in concentration, he sent the cauldron flying.
The cauldron hit the pickaxe perfectly and the monster screeched as it fell back. The spiderwebs of cracks became a hole in the side of its head, only partially plugged by the cauldron.
But it wasn’t enough. It groaned and started to sit back up, reaching for its fallen pickaxe.
A jet of bright white light streamed through the air and hit a stalactite. It cut straight through the stone and the stalactite went crashing into the monster’s chest.
The monster closed its fist around a magestone by its pickaxe.
It seemed to sigh a little, slumping back on the stone floors.
And then it stopped moving.
Ito swallowed thickly and looked away. There had to be something else to see, right?
They followed the jet of light to find Kuroki pointing Deuce’s wand arm for him.
Kuroki stared at the monster, his entire body stiff as a board.
Ito sighed and walked over, removing Grim from their shoulders in favor of handing the monster to Kuroki, and then glanced over at Enma and Ace. Both of them were stuck staring at the monster.
“Hey, uh, guys, we still gotta get out.”

Oh thank goodness. I was so scared I’d made you uncomfortable. Glad to know that’s not the case. Also currently getting ready to watch the latest episode of Blue Lock cause watching gay soccer players is the perfect way to distract myself from crying because of gay delinquents aka Tokyo Revengers 😌✨. I swear the number of edits I’ve saved to my phone these last two weeks is insane. You should totally pick it up again whenever you have the time (and ofc only if you want to) 👀. Izana brainrot has escalated to reading the fanfics under the character x reader tag. That’s when I know I’m down bad 💀💀💀. Anywho. You should absolutely catch up on Lore Olympus I just caught up yesterday and uhhhhh a lot has happened 👀. And everyone needs themselves a man like Hades like SIR IM- . Oh man I love yoo takes me back. I stopped reading it awhile ago cause I think it was being dragged out and I kinda lost the plot somewhere. I don’t like when the story keeps continuing when it’s just for the sake of it and it doesn’t work with the plot. There are very few exceptions to this. Tokyo Revengers obv being one of them cause I would seriously be so happy if it went on forever and I got to see what the daily lives of all my beloved characters were like. I have a love hate relationship with Ken Wakui 😤🤧😭. OH ALSO as sad as I am abt the ending I’m so excited for the second season in January (Black Dragons arc is my favorite). Have you seen the trailer? ALSO there was an announcement right after the release of the final chapter saying that Wakui was gonna be doing a special arc abt the Toman founders and I really hope it’s in the reset timeline with Takemitchy cause I need to see how him and Mikey did it all and just their relationship with everyone (adding childhood-friends trope to the number of reasons why this ship has everything). And it also included the announcement of Wakui saying he’s working on multiple spin-offs and I was like AFJBGFDJKHHHGGHGGG YES GIMME *ahem* also I haven’t read the Bajifuyu Letter from Baji Keisuke spin off yet but I was gonna wait until after the manga ended as a source of comfort yknow so I gotta do that eventually. EGGNOID MY DEAR COLD-BLOODED KING SIRENS LAMENTS LETS PLAY. I LOVE ALL OF THESE SO MUCH. Haven’t read them in a while tho 😅 (besides Lore Olympus atm). I recommend Brimstone and Roses, Unlovable Replacement, Midnight Poppy Land, SubZero, Down to Earth, and The Kiss Bet. They’re all on webtoons. OH and i heard that Nagi makes an appearance in the latest ep so I’m excited not cause I’m falling for him or anything ofc. How’s life? Good I hope? And I’m happy that my description was somewhat on point and that it didn’t make you uncomfortable. Oh and also love your sketches so much they look so good 🤩!!! Uh question. Just to double check. The constant asks aren’t a bother are they? I know you said you like interacting but I just wanna make sure it’s not annoying having to respond to constant asks from the same person all the time. If that makes sense? Anyways I hope you sleep well/wake up refreshed!! It’s night time here atm. As always take care of yourself! *sends virtual hugs*

Starry!!
I finished reading the latest chapters of the manga (and I'm amazed at the fact that I've managed to keep up with it so far; are we ever gonna get shirtless aiku and i wanna see him with the italian team)
my only motive in life atp (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ)
I love yoo does make me feel nostalgic; but yeah as much as I love the whole story, the plot did get dragged out. So like here's the thing, I've watched a lot of k dramas and some of them are really lengthy. Like whats wrong with secretary kim had a good plot and everything, so did suspicious partners but this new one I watched (the penthouse) it got dragged out for so long that I didn't even want to watch season 3; even if it was interesting i'm being pushed to watch hospital playlist even with let's play when Sam and Charles were being dragged with Marshall in the bg i... dropped it. No ill will intended against the author and their artwork; cause they are amazing, but i lose interest with complicated plots. me watching he is a psychometric
The coincidence! I was literally asking abt the black dragons today (wanted to know if Shinichiro is there or not and turns out he is!) I wanna see the whole thing with Mitsuya, Hakkai and Taiju - me having a tr brainrot and thinking if i should work on it or will people get annoyed with me ⁽⁽ଘ( ˊᵕˋ )ଓ⁾⁾ I like manga omakes- they can even be turned into mini eps cause of it - esp with the trio and their pet shop business! (Me thinking of the moment when Baji's handwriting is so bad that Chifuyu had to show him how to write and teach him- he really thought wearing glasses would make him smart smh) and if i do read tr I'm gonna start uploading manga panels on my blog as well- so be prepared to be annoyed ig ⁽⁽ଘ( ˊᵕˋ )ଓ⁾⁾
I'll definitely check out the webtoons you sent me (kiss the bet seems interesting and midnight poppy land has popped into my recs a couple of times). I have to watch the next ep of blue lock - curious to know if Nagi's voice is how I pictured it.
I'm doing alright! Working on wips and clearing them, studying, watching shows *sips coke* and listening to music; we hit another mini milestone - 1.2k (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و so I'm working on two fics; angst comfort
istg the way you guys might come at me for this ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ
I just wanted to do something fun on the blog hehe- responding to comments with art. It's not very well done, yea but i'm not used to drawing digitally nor anime that often since I sketch paintings and statues... but its just to good around with my followers and to let people know that i do read their comments (๑•͈ᴗ•͈)
Honestly? I don't get interaction on my blog apart from you, 💙 anon and a few more - and - I like talking to you; esp when you mentioned abt having consistency while having to talk to someone? cause that's how it should be- and i don't regret saying this but the number of times i have unfollowed moots cause of this (big author or not; I'm not gonna engage in conversations if i'm going one sided abt this). So now I just prefer to chat with my followers and anyone who wants to drop in my inbox. And no, I don't find you annoying bb; you're very fun to talk to and I look forward to your visits- no matter how many times! This is probably the most interaction I've received in my entire writing experience and actually being treated like a person on the other side of the screen rather than being asked to write a part two (after its already been discussed many times) or asking to be tagged without my work being interacted with- and by interaction i mean telling me and describing to me what you liked about the fic and all that yk. And there used to be some days when I had my askbox closed so this is a pleasant change from that
૮꒰ ˶• ༝ •˶꒱ა ♡
so yeah feel free to send as many asks as you want - i'd be happy to see them ( ˊᵕˋ )♡
*sending back warm hugs*

(After typing out this whole message I’d like to say you made a mistake asking about it) Omg yes finally someone asks! Ok so no I’m not actually studying biology for schooling or anything I just do research in my spare time cuz I find it fascinating. I was gonna just start spitting out facts but I’ll actually give realistic headcanons on some of the DoA characters cuz I’ve been reading their wiki’s since I haven’t read the manga and I’m not caught up in the anime, so if anything I say is actually proven incorrect then that’s why.
Anyways so I’ll start with Fyodor, I think he’s the only one out of the ones I’ve read about that would have proper eyesight. His irises are very dark despite being a vibrant purple, so realistically he wouldn’t have much difficulty with glare, he also doesn’t have any visible injuries around his eyes that could affect it either
I’m not sure if Sigma would have worse sight than Nikolai or not but his is definitely worse than Fyodor. According to his wiki he has grey eyes but in pictures they’re more pink so I dunno but either way his irises are extremely pale in color and not incredibly vibrant so he definitely would have issues seeing with glare especially when it’s bright out. While I avoided going too deep in his background I know he was stranded in the desert for a decent amount of time and he definitely didn’t have anything to protect his eyes then so he most likely suffered some sort of damage to his sight depending on how long he was out there. I think he’d need glasses, it’s unrelated to that last comment but I still think he’d need them, he’d probably be nearsighted (sweet baby boy he’s my new favorite character I just wanna bake him some cookies and give him a big kiss on the cheek he deserves it)
Nikolai is so genuinely confusing to me. My initial thought was that he’d be blind or mostly blind in his left eye (the one that’s scarred if I have them mixed up) not only does he have a nasty scar across it, it’s also completely grey and devoid of light and just wtf is going on with his pupil? I definitely think whatever injury he sustained on that eye damaged his pupil as well (I actually have no idea if you can alter the shape of your pupil like that so now I’m gonna have to research that when I get a chance) and that’s why it looks like a cross rather than being circular like a normal human pupil. But here’s the thing, if he’s blind in that eye then why would he wear a mask over an eye that works? His other eye looks completely normal, he probably wouldn’t have any issues in that one like Fyodor, BUT ACCORDING TO HIS WIKI THAT EYE IS VACANT??? So while it makes no sense to me maybe he’s blind in that eye due to that one being vacant and masked? I really have no idea he’s out here defying all my knowledge on eyes and I don’t like it. BUT I stand by my thought that he definitely would have a severe astigmatism in his left eye if he can see with it based on how messed up it is
first of all, I didn't make a mistake hehe, I asked because I am interested :D <3 so talk all you want hehe and also I understand what you mean! I have a lot of topics I am really interested in and learn as much as possible despite not being interested in actually studying them on universities or something like that :) I think it's really interesting topic that you chose to talk about and biology is wonderful!! :)
As for not being caught up with manga and anime, etc. - it's okay, those are your headcanons therefore they don't have to fit canon criteria by any means, so we rolling :D
Okay, so Fyodor! I agree, I think his eyesight would be overall good, but I do also think he would maybe have issue with seeing clearly sometimes due to possible anemia that he has so it could happen he gets lightheaded/dizzy or when his anemia gets a bit worse, his eyesight suffers slightly as well. But out of all 3, I definitely agree he would probably have the best eyesight usually :D
this might contain small spoiler of manga about Sigma (nothing crucial to the storyline of manga)
I agree about Sigma! His eye color whether it's grey or pinkish does suggest poor eyesight or in general some sort of injury/irritation in general. I like to think he frowns so often because he can't see well so he is like a little cat just squinting its eyes sjjsjs i love him and I agree about dessert part too! He definitely suffered from sand and wind and everything + he also used to stay up all night and learn about his casino visitors as he would write everything down, so his eyesight definitely got worse because of it! Also, working in casino in general - lights are straining eyes for sure. And him being nearsighted makes perfect sense ngl, but he refuses to wear glasses probably because he feels like it doesn't fit his aesthetic :D AND HE IS THE CUTEST!! I WANT HIM TO HAVE ALL COOKIES AND TEA AND JUST BE HAPPY AND CARED FOR SJDJDJSJ <3333
THIS WILL BE NIKOLAI RANT BEAR WITH ME
NIKOLAI OKAY, his eyes are the most interesting ones in bsd in my opinion, beside Q!! Him being blind in an eye he shows makes perfect sense somehow due to his persona I believe. He shows people his scarred eye, he shows his vulnerability and yet people still don't trust him or take that as his weakness due to his personality. I think the differences in his eyes represents the inner state of himself, I know Asagiri pays a lot of attention to eyes. Basically his scarred eye could represent everything he became as he tried working his goal out, he had to lose that humanity, etc. I actually thought about it a lot - most people would cover up their strained or weak side due to deceive people and simply keep themselves safe and protected. Nikolai doesn't crave safety or protection, his whole being and looks are literally screaming "look at me, notice me, watch me embody the idea of freedom you can't grasp". He is making people believe he is delusional, immature, cold blooded murderer who has no reason for his doings at all and his eyes specifically also represent that. He doesn't mind taking off his card and uncovering perfectly normal eye. That's his duality - he lets people see what they want to see and what he wants them to see, but at the same time he deceives them into believing that's all he is even after showing them perfectly normal side of him. He is blinded by his idea, he is blinded by his goal and he is blinded by Fyodor too. But he has an ace in his sleeve which is his other side that is completely aware, completely sane and normal. Also!! You can definitely change a pupil shape, especially from injury! It can kind of melt out in your eye and become different shape other than circle, so injury he received is definitely to play a role in it as well as his scar. I don't think he is actually completely blind in his eye since it's still very reactive, muscles are reactive too, I think he just wants us to believe so. He might even injured himself on purpose to make that effect happen and therefore altered his eyesight to be more like astigmatism. Also, usually when you cover one eye your other one gets more reactive and more capable, it's what people do all the time when one of their eyes suffers or needs to be fixed, etc. So his other eye being vacant is also very interesting! It could be that he is partly blind or has hard time seeing and that represents his goals as well - he is not fully blind therefore not fully finished with his goal. He definitely alters everyone's knowledge of everything because he is such a true jester not gonna lie :D But!! I think it's really interesting, he is really amazing character so to wrap up my points about him - I do think he suffers partial blindess, I also think he injured himself on purpose and I think it represents usual idea of blinded person and a bird. I see that going hand in hand sometimes, person having a blindfold and bird following them or something like in tarot, there is a lot of symbols like that :D and Nikolai is known to love cards and in general - DoA is represented through cards a lot :)
I HOPE THIS MADE SENSE DNJDJSNS I AM SORRY I RAMBLED PLS, THANK YOU FOR SENDING THIS, I LOVE IT SO MUCH, YOU ARE SO COOL PLEASE

(Gerard Way, by me. Black ballpoint, red fine-liner. 🖊🩸 )
Soo I’ve not posted much OC character stuff of recent as I’m still writing the second chapter of The Lord of Wet and Pyro Princess Adventures (Genshin Ayato x Diluc fanfic I’m having a lot of fun with as I’m back in ~Genshin playing mode~ since I invested a bunch in the game and it’s also the Lantern Rite time of year again, a favourite of mine).
I’ve had a request to finish my WattPad Kaze fanfic too, which I’ll try and deliver but I got kinda stick in the basement scene lmfao as writing Zero as a top is so odd for me even though I Want It to happen.
I’ve wanted to get out some Kaze stuff as not as many people post it anymore and I’ve realised there’s still a big fandom community for Vampire Knight which is excitingg! I might move it over to Ao3 once I have time.~
I’ve been a little busy planning and “making the art” and custom credit card designs as well as payment plan ideas not too mention considering setting up an Etsy or Fiverr or somewhere people have more access to than pixiv as setting up my regular posting on my pixivFANBOX and trying to build a schedule for Saturdays whilst juggling my physical/mental health and transition as well as parenting and socialising more. Basically I want a gallery of stuff to trickle out rather than doing it every week under pressure rather than when it comes to me, as whenever I have pressure to deliver I lose my imagination and just feel like it’s a chore so avoid it. I’m sure other creatives can relate!
Likewise I’m sitting back and reading again to unwind again and havent caught up with everything I’m reading yet but I’ve got numerous things In The Works I’m taking more time on rather than rushing out chapters such as:
• The NYE one shot for Orange Juice in the Studio~
• Chapter 3 “A Date In The City” of Orange Juice in the Studio, essentially the ~teaser~ Aquarium and ice cream parlour date where I finally introduce supporting character into the actual story who works at the parlour! I don’t know when I’ll be introducing Mama but they are on the horizon for sure. I’m currently busy researching real locations in Valencia and I’ve never been so I don’t have in person reference and am sourcing that online. I’m also researching top LGBT+ hang out locations/clubs in the city to make appearances in the storyline.
• ORANGE JUICE IN THE STUDIO CHARACTER INFO SHEETS!!! Exciting.
Here I’ll give lots of what you need to know about OC and Reader! I’m wondering if I should not make one though for Reader or ask for engagement from my actual readers of Who Reader Is To Them, as well, the whole point of the character is to depict You as a reader, and those who relate to what I write can get on board. I will make a mock up one for sure and be loose with it as a rule! Or leave out absolute details like “star sign” or height or something.~
• Beginning work on the AU “HorrorLand! The Isle of Marionettes”! This will be about the Orange Juice OCs. As you can tell, it’ll be slightly gory horror fiction, somewhere to express my love for horror and things but not canon. Just a little fun.
• Designing what will be in my monthly newsletter which only Bronze subscribers will get for yours truly to enjoy!
• Weekly updates to my pixivFANBOX, with my manga style art specifically. My pixivFANBOX is for my manga art style only, my other types of art can be found on zer0comicz IG, and Zer0 Comics on Facebook, or posted on here. This is my official name for my freelance illustration/comic business.
• I’ll try getting some new commissions up I’ve got of OC and Reader on here and/or on @crimsonyoukai , if not that, I’ll make some mock ups on PiCrew whilst I’m doing my own.
• Tiered FANs will be getting The Monthly Marionette+, this begins after the first month of being a patron on Bronze, Silver (to be set up) and Gold (to be set up). I’ll announce when the newsletter is starting to air!
You can get early teasers for chapters of OJITS posted on my pixivFANBOX as well too on Bronze tier, I’m not posting teasers so much on here anymore until I’ve aired it for protection of my work etc.
My Ao3 profile for writing updates!
Any queries or questions or anything you’d like to know in general or what you may like to also see from me, please feel free to drop them into my Ask Box!
I have commissions open for art likewise. Each custom piece is £5, £10 for more detailed works, which I offer postage for the original or a print. Tattoo designs are £25 each.
