Thomas Bernhard at his best.
When I am tired, I bow my brain across the square
and let the feet trample and set the vileness of the butchers to
psalms.
From the hole of a tram car I look into the sky,
distracted by the trembling of the leaves and the lip-twisting of girls

The Bat kids trying to do more civilian things to be less suspicious. But Steph ends up being the one to plan everything, leading to them all ending up doing things from a “25+ Things Your Teenage Daughter Can Do For Fun” webpage.
Duke: “Ok so number 12 says get your ears pierced.”
Dick: “I know a place!”
•••
Tim and Cass: *looking at earrings*
Damian: “Richard are you sure this establishment is… sanitary?”
Jason: “Oh is the great blood son afraid of a,” glances at store name, “Claire’s?”

obsessed w how bitter and upset duke is w Bruce in this arc. and he has every right to be! he knew Bruce almost personally at that point, and his parents were joker gassed in a recreation of the wayne murders in an effort to get to batman. they were collateral damage and duke had been suffering pretty much alone as a result. his whole ideology is that robin doesn't need batman but on a more personal scale, you can see why he thinks that! when he needed Bruce he wasn't there, when he needed batman he wasn't there either. And he'll fret like he didn't care like it didn't matter but it DID

Ik I talk abt this panel often but that's bcs KTZZZZ ITS SO CRUCIAL TO DUKES CHARACTER!! He becomes completely self reliant, isolates himself he can't wait on batman to save the city, can't wait on batman to find his parents or wait on batman to save him, he's all he could rely on, and that self-reliance later grew into an almost cynical worldview. it's why his whole "emphasis on the word 'we'" thing at the we of WAR meant so much. he had hope in not just his own beliefs but in others' as well.
ANDDD it's why his and bruce's dynamic drives me up a wall but that's another post for another time..

Dick is bad at being unrecognizable.
First off there's how Tim recognized his quadruple flip.
When he was Batman the Riddler knew it was a different guy (tho not who specifically.)
Gaggy hates the og Robin cause he subconsciously recognized him from when the Flying Graysons replaced him at the circus.
Duke figured out his identity when he was Spyral.

An entire city has appeared out of nowhere, The Justice league goes to the location to investigate, there they notice that the whole area seems to be stuck in the year of 2007 and upon further inspection another strange phenomenon is uncovered.
Some residents of Amity Park appear to be replicas of people who already existed before the city materialized out of thin air, these citizens of Amity Park have the same DNA and look exactly alike to the individuals they seem to be a replica of, especially when compared to the pictures of these people in the year of 2007.
One of the few witnesses to what happened to the city Daniel James Fenton is in a deep coma without any apparent cause, his family, however, is awake, and they are now the biggest clue to the mysteries of Amity Park.

reading this book and it describes this fantasy tiered city built on the side of a mountain and it has one "impossibly long" stairway for traversing from one tier to another
and all i can think is "wow that is awful urban design."
without even getting into the inherent ableism (but hey! fantasy city with fantasy races which are naturally superior and therefore pretty much never experience disability, of course, because that's what superiority means) of the apparently sole system of traveling between levels of this city being stairs and only stairs, it's a freaking deathtrap.
one impossibly long unbroken stairway across the breadth of a tiered city built into the side of a mountain? no landings are described, even. without some kinda natural break, one moment of clumsiness or an unfriendly shove and someone is having a long, long tumble to a broken neck (and broken everything else.)

Ohiwe (lady) and Ohime (man) aka the fire deity after they get punished.
Originally just "Oh", the fire deity had a bit too much fun with punishing humans and so in a means to stop them, the elder gods split them into two. So now they have to be together in order to have their "full" power but as before the split, they get restless and like to wander. So while one stays in their city, the other gets to go out and travel and see the world and check on the other deities.
Also, as a whole/singular being Oh would use they/them. After the split however, it's definitely not the same and so Ohiwe likes using female pronouns and Ohime uses male pronouns. That way when discussed as one, it's back to they. That feels best for them.
