Summary: Once, Wen Qing vowed to preserve the lives of others, to rescue all living beings from their sufferings. It's a pity the Jin sect killed her. Now, no vows restrain her. (Two years after her death, the ghost of Wen Qing flees Golden Carp Tower with her brother. They accidentally kidnap Mo Xuanyu on the way out. Then, they set about collecting the scraps of Wei Wuxian's shattered soul.) Kay's comments: This series absolutely gutted me. Like, the end of the main story actually left in tears and it's been a while since I cried over fanfiction. Absolutely loved it, 10/10, would recommend, very cathartic. I loved Wen Qing's POV in the main story, how her anger and her thirst for revenge transformed the story and the cultivation society at large. Everything about this felt very satisfying and I loved how certain minor characters got second chances (via kidnapping) as well. Resentful ghost Wen Qing and martial god Wei Wuxian is such an awesome combination as well and Wangxian in this story were very adorable as well. Excerpt: She uses memories of her family as a bulwark against influence from the tormented yin energy. She needs this energy to become hers... If she fails here, A-Ning will be destroyed. Her family will never be given a proper burial. They will suffer eternally, trapped in the blood pool at the Burial Mounds and left out of the cycle of reincarnation forever. The people responsible will escape their karma. The resentment tries to crush her, wants to influence her and consumer her power, but Wen Qing has an anchor – Wen Ning's eyes widen slightly, and he reaches out to her. Pupils have returned to his eyes. “A-jie...” Her brother is finally conscious. Wen Qing will not fail him, not ever again. She pulls, letting her own will clash against the sentient portions of the power. They have suffered longer, but her resentment is fresh and fully remembered. She is not a fragment. She will not lose herself to them. The spirits go dormant – Wen Qing absorbed all the resentment fueling them. Her hand closes around Wen Ning's. “A-Ning.” She reaches out and brushes his hair out of his face with her other hand. She can actually feel the strands under her fingers. She no longer lingers as an incorporeal apparition, full as she is with resentful energy. “I missed you so much... But we need to leave quickly.” He leans into her touch briefly before nodding and pulling away. As she turns to grab a bag from one of the shelves so she can stow away the shattered pieces of the Yin Tiger Tally, Wen Ning gasps. Which is nearly impossible, since he doesn't breathe. When she looks back, she also releases a gasping sound. Hovering over the broken shards of the Tally, a nearly transparent image of Wei Wuxian flickers. His eyes glow red, as his ghostly image lifts an image of the fully completed Yin Tiger Tally, but then he disappears back to a flicker of ghost flame, fading.

Small Progress Update

Hello everyone 😊

I wanted to give you a small update on where things stand with Crown of Exile (and just a bit on my IRL situation). At the moment, I'm working a full time job so writing is still progressing a bit slower than I like things to progress (also because I'm an impatient person).

The good news is that start a new position on Friday within my current company, so my work shifts will now be from midday to early evening which frees up my mornings to write. Mornings tend to be when I do my best writing since I'm usually awake and not drained after using my brain to do tasks from my job so this should mean frequent writing sessions opposed to short 2-3 hour sessions every other day.

Now onto the game update - this is a small, mini update which will contain about 27K new words. Not all words will be seen on a single playthrough and the scenes aren't as lengthy or detailed as they will be in the final version of the game. Testing will start later today and because the update is small, it should be done by the end of the week. I'll likely post the update on the 1st of March for my Patrons - I'll post a full schedule closer to the end of the week.

Also, I've hit 4.5K followers here on Tumblr and considering the lack of updates/engagement, I'm really surprised so thank you to everyone who's been supporting me and the game's development 💖 I'd really like to do some sort of thank you gift for you all like a small side story, so if you have possible requests, let me know!

To any of my OG followers, especially ones from my phantom fandom days, you may remember Princess Erik. Unfortunately, my husband is currently rushing him to my old ER because he’s….really not doing well.

Erik is a very old man. I rescued him when he was 6 years old and about to be put down for a treatable condition. He’s around 14ish now. He’s had a few health scares here and there, some hospital stays. It’s always super stressful for him, so we never bring him in unless it’s very serious.

I knew when I left for vet school, Erik would likely pass at some point while I was away. I’ve been mentally preparing for it but, it’s different when the hypothetical becomes reality.

I don’t think my husband will be bringing Erik home with him tonight. And if he does, somehow, I don’t foresee Old Man Erik sticking around much longer.

I'm having a delusion that includes you." Wei Ying said. "Three. We're having a shared delusion," Wen Ning nodded. "Four. We're in our grandparents' favorite TV show as their favorite characters." In which Wen Ning and Wei Ying fall into their grandparents' favorite TV Show, the Untamed, which was based on a gay romance novel, and everyone seems to think they're characters that were already in it. Except when he watched the show, he was pretty sure Lan Zhan didn't look at the real Wei Wuxian like he's looking at Wei Ying, and he and Wen Ning are having to use a lot of memes in order to communicate without the people around them understanding. AKA Modern Wen Ning and Wei Ying transmigrate to the Untamed.

Oh, and Lan Wangji seems to hang around quite frequently, for whatever reason.
