“Please, Villain—” the hero struggled, wrists cuffed behind their back by their very own power suppressors. “T-This, this is humiliating—”
The villain on the other hand looked far too cheery for a criminal only two steps away from their nemesis. Their smile was radiant and they were practically bouncing off the balls of their feet.
“Maybe you should have considered that before you came to me for my help~” They announced, almost licking their lips watching their new prisoner wriggle helplessly on the floor beneath them.
Hero blushed and then stuttered, “I didn’t think you were going to do all this—”
Villain closed the gap between the pair, taking an extra step in order to press their heel into the small of the hero’s back. Effectively pushing them back down into the grime of the alley street.
“Sweetheart, I’m a villain. You’re the one who begged me to kidnap you for a week so you could take a paid vacation, not I. Did you really think I wasn’t going to take advantage of this opportunity?”
The crime-stopper huffed, blowing up some dust from their spot against the floor. “Well, I at least thought you’d be a bit kinder about it.”
The villain almost burst out laughing, it was clear that this whole thing was just a big joke to them. Not so much so to the hero, considering they only got four vacation days a year and could hardly keep from burning out. But maybe the change of scenery would be good for them.
They knew the villain wouldn’t kill them or horribly injure them—in fact, the hero considered the two of them almost friends at this point. All Hero wanted was a few days of peace and quiet, and what better way to get that than to stage a kidnapping?
“You really are as dumb as they say. I mean, you just handed yourself to me on a silver platter and now you’re acting like I don’t try to slit your throat every Tuesday and Friday morning.”
Hero rolled their eyes as the villain yanked them to their feet by their collar, shoving them towards the street. “Cut me some slack, will you? The Agency is pushing my limits.”
The villains hands were braced agains the hero’s shoulders in a second, steadying the other’s precarious swaying. “Oh my… poor little Hero, hm? Are those strong muscles getting sore?” Right on cue the villain squeezed the hero’s shoulders, hitting all the right spots and effectively stealing their breath.
“Or is it more so this genius brain you’ve got locked up in there?” Villain’s hands travelled up the back of their neck to their skull, teasing their touch-starved skin.
“Villain—”
“Or maybe it’s this hot ass that’s tired of the constant spotlight…” With a yelp, Villain’s hands met the base of Hero’s spine, grabbing a handful of their ass without a second thought.
The villain chuckled, pushing the hero up against their car door. They had always loved the sounds the hero made, how they reacted to the villain’s touch—how quickly they folded.
The criminal turned the hero to face them, pressing their bodies up even closer, eyeing them up and down. “I’ll have to teach you to respect your villains time and efforts during your stay, but if you’d let me, I’d love to teach you a thing or two about your body on the side.”
Hero hated the way their entire body lit up as if it had caught fire. They hadn’t expected the villain to be so direct about it, not that that deterred them any from answering.
“Could you teach me a thing or two about yours as well?”
The deal was sealed with a single smirk.

“Has anyone ever told you how pretty you look when you’re focused?” The voice shocked Hero. They spun away from their desk only to scatter a slew of papers. From the shadows came a chuckle and Villain emerged.
“You’re not supposed to be able to get in here.”
A feline smile graced the Villain’s lips, “You of all people should know I have a knack for being places I shouldn’t.” Their gaze fell onto the scattered files and Hero instinctively fumbled to fix the mess before them. Not however, before Villain managed to snatch a paper of their own.
“Quite the thorough research you have.” Villain smirked. They took their sweet time reading it even as Hero reached for them. An array of well placed blocks was enough to finish the contents of the sheet all while leaving the Hero an amusing shade of red., “You really are obsessed with me, aren’t you?”
“You can’t be serious,” Hero sputtered. They leapt for the sheet, successfully managing to tear it from the Villain’s hands all while their nemesis raised a knowing brow. “You’re a Villain, it’s my job to do all I can to stop you.”
“Because knowing my favorite kind of flower is so beneficial to my demise,” Villain strode forward, stopping the Hero from fleeing by bracketing a hand on either side of their hips. They leaned close, lips ghosting just over the shell of Hero’s ear, “Don’t be naive sweetheart. Trying to hide your little crush is as hopeless as this ‘work’ of yours.”
The blush they got in response was absolutely ravishing.

“Ooh~...” the villain moaned out with one cocked, teasing eyebrow, “Ravish me, my dear hero.”
The hero flushed beet red. They made a mistake at letting their chokehold grip on the villain’s wrists falter and gasped, opening their eyes to see that the villain has switched their positions.
A lopsided grin engraved on the villain’s face, holding the hero’s wrists in place on the wall, “Poor little hero, too naïve for your own good.”

Prompt
★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★
"Well, well, Hero. Looks like you've lost. And in Christmas season, too. What do you have to say for yourself, hmm?" Villain tilted their chin up as they scowled in response, earning them an amused chuckle from their nemesis.
"Bring them to their room, will you?" They waved off Henchmen, who quickly took hold of Hero's hands behind their back and led them to said room.
It was...much nicer than the Hero expected, they had to admit.
As silly as it now sounds, they had been expecting a dirty dungeon, filled with filth, dead rats and bugs crawling around. But..no.
It wasn't any fancy, or luxurious hotel room. It was small. A bed in the corner, a nightstand, lamp, and they even had their own bathroom—along with some other decoratives such as rugs or Christmas lights.
"I think Vil—Boss, likes you. At least a little bit." They heard from behind them, as their bonds were undone.
"`why do you say that?"
"they've never done this for anybody else before."
Oh.
Hero didn't really know how to feel about that.
"I'd be confused too, but uh..think of it as a Christmas present. An act of mercy."
Hero blinks. Sure.
"..Okay. can I uhm..just have some time to myself now?" They felt their cheeks heat up as they asked, Henchman giving a nod.
"Merry Christmas, Hero."
The hero watched as they walked out the door, hearing the lock as their footsteps faded.
Little did they know, the whole 'Christmas present' idea was actually a suggestion from Henchman themself.

Prompt #220
"Favorite feature on yourself. Answer, now."
Hero pondered the question for just a moment. "My eyes."
Villain hummed, as if to say, 'Interesting choice, but…’ "I don’t think so."
"Well, it's a good thing you asked for my opinion, not the other way around," Hero said. “That means I don’t have to listen to what you think.”
"Do you know what my favorite feature of yours is?" Villain asked anyway. Then, answering their very own question, muttered, "Your parted lips."
Hero’s attention was drawn towards the bluntness of the statement, towards the absurdity of the conversation altogether. "Parted?" What did parted have to do with- oh.
Now smiling, Villain’s teeth shone like a dagger’s glinting edge. “What do you say we put them to good use?”

NOT A PR0MPT
Hi! I was wondering if u could do a bit where the hero breaks into the villains mansion/layer to get some plans or something but the plans are in the villains ✨bedroom ✨and the villain is in the ✨shower ✨ and they catch the hero. A little ✨spicy ✨ u know? If u don’t want to do this I completely understand no pressure! Thxxxxxx😁
Mm. If you were honest about wanting the spice, I promise you are going to soak this up. Not explicit, but quite easily suggestive. Hide your phones. If you think you shouldn’t read it 🤷‍♀️ then don’t.
******
A lockpick, a desk, and a disk drive. Hero’s team had gathered the information on Villain’s base; now it was up to Hero to gather the plans hidden within. It was right in front of her- a sparkling silver lock just waiting to be sprung by deft hands- her hands.
"I wish you would have broken in sooner. I would have asked you to join me."
“It’s what I was here for,” Hero blurted, and she hadn’t even bothered to look at him as she hid her hand behind her back. Looking away from the locked drawer, though, she found herself losing her breath. “I-I wanted to see you.” Not like this, she wanted to elaborate, but…hell, she couldn’t think.
Villain was in a towel- and only a towel.
Maybe if he thought she were interested in him, then she might make it out alive. Would he kill her? Hero wasn’t sure.
Regardless, this was much more of Villain than what she had wanted to see, and she didn’t know what to do.
“I have something to tell you,” she played on.
“You want me to believe you came here to confess feelings?” Villain laughed and smiled something toothy and arrogant. “I wish I could believe you, Hero, but here’s the truth: you wouldn’t know what to do if I returned your flirtations.”
“I’m sure I would,” Hero insisted. “Test me.”
Somehow, Villain’s smile became wider, more cunning, more handsome, more capable of making Hero regret being here. “Oh, I don’t think you want that.” He spoke in a rasp, one challenging and impossible to ignore.
“What makes you think I can’t take it?” Even she noticed her own voice shake. “Is it because I’m the quiet one, only there to do everyone’s dirty work? I can’t have my own interests and explorations, Villain?” Anything to invite her stay, to give her time to initiate a plan B.
He hummed politely. “Fine, then. What would you do if I told you that that sneaky little outfit flatters you? That black exemplifies those gorgeous curves, and harshens the edges of your cheeks?”
Her cheeks, as Villain had pointed out, now grew pink, though surely in the dark he couldn’t see that. At least, she desperately hoped not.
No one ever paid her compliments. She was quiet and reserved, and she did her job. She was nothing interesting, nothing worth complimenting, and nothing to waste a breath on. That was what she told herself anyway. But here Villain was, standing half-naked with nothing but a towel, telling her how pretty she appeared to him…even if it were only a lie to toy with her.
He could say nothing else that would fluster her more. Or so she thought.
“What if I told you how badly I wanted to grab that wrist from behind your back, walk you into that wall, and pin your hands above your head? That I wanted to make you beg- not for your life, but for something better? What would you do, Hero? Would you take me up on the offer if I told you it wasn’t too late?” He stepped towards her, and she felt herself taking a step back to match.
Suddenly, Hero wasn’t afraid he might kill her. She was afraid of the tingle in her brain and the way that the lockpick in her hand felt slick in her fingers.
She needed to focus. If she wasn’t careful, she would drop the pick, and ruin any chance of getting what she needed. Not that she could open the lock in front of Villain, but maybe if she gained a say in this…this interrogation…then she could distract him. She could ask for a drink! A glass of red wine- wasn’t that a flirtatious beverage? And while he left to get her a drink, Hero would unlock the desk, take the drive, and leave.
But before she could ask, Villain continued in his taunts. “What if I told you that naked would flatter your body even more? That it’d have been stunning plastered against my shower wall? And ohh, that hair,” he sighed with closed eyes. “How beautiful it would look- dark, and damp with steam.” He took another step, then another. Before Hero could even think to count the footsteps, the cloth of her black sweater made her skin itch. Her back was against the wall. “Sweetheart, your head wouldn’t even touch the water before I ravished you.” His dry knuckles grazed against the sharp, albeit soft-skinned frame of Hero’s cheeks. “You would have chills from more than just the air. Doesn’t that sound nice?”
His voice flattered her just as much- quiet and hushed, as if this were a scandal in his own private home. It sounded thrilling. It felt thrilling. Hero’s heart thumped harder now than when she’d been caught. It shouldn’t have been possible. Never had her heart beat so hard against her ribcage, like it was trying to escape. Like it depended on Villain’s voice and commands to keep her alive.
His hand trailed down her cheek, down the centre of her chest- where she gasped, but didn’t stop him- to her stomach, then right above the waistband of her pants.
“Hand me the lockpick,” he whispered, head beside her own, “or I might pleasure you here…instead of giving you the courtesy of a warm shower.” It was no threat; it was an invitation. Hero felt his lips curl, tugging her hair ever-so-slightly away from her ear. “Either way, I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself.”
Hero swallowed. Would it be so bad, she thought, to be taken by Villain? With his smooth talking and easy compliments, it was hard to consider walking away. Whatever she decided, she wasn’t getting the disk drive. Maybe she could have something else. Something enticing. Something fulfilling. Something she’d never had before with a man who paid no one else any attention.
She could spoil herself.
But only this once.
And never again.
At least, that’s what she told herself.

I have more like this if you’re looking for more: Distracted
Gasps of Air
And I have to give a shoutout to the queen and king of similar drabbles @save-the-villainous-cat and @epiclamer. They’re probably more accustomed to this sort of thing.

cw: suggestive
“You know for someone with such a handsome face, it really is a shame you frown so much.”
Hero feels a sudden warmth spread to their cheeks and the tip of their ears. They glance up to see a sweet, yet poisonous smile on the villain’s face. It was so strange how one moment they were throwing fists and shouting insults at eachother only to end up in a compromised position like this.
They couldn’t have predicted Villain climbing on top of them in the middle of their fight like this, but it was obvious at this point it was a rather clever technique to distract them. Gears started turning in their head, and they weren’t sure how to react as their nemesis cupped their cheek with a feather-light touch and a piercing look in their eye. It was enough to give them a fluttery feeling in their stomach, one they wished wasn’t as pleasant as they liked to admit.
The hero despised how alluring his expression was, as they leaned closer with parted lips. Only Hero understood the consequences of sharing a kiss with the devil, yet they didn’t move away.
“I- I…What?” They asked while stumbling over their words, unable to fully process Villain’s comment.
“As a matter of fact, I quite enjoy you when you’re like this,” The villain chuckled heartily as they held the other’s chin. “so vulnerable and speechless…it’s honestly rather adorable. More entertaining than when you try to act all tough.~”
“Shut up.” The hero grunts, attempting to retrieve their anger from earlier but not nearly as convincing as before. “You’ve tried this a thousand times, it’s still not gonna work on me.”
The villain simply pouts as they trail a finger up the crimefighter’s chest, noticing their breath hitch. “How disappointing…Though I suppose you have been the stubborn type, hm? Never the type to be honest with your feelings.”
Hero scoffed, lightly shoving the Villain away from them. “And why the hell would that matter to you?” They growled, only for their charming opponent to respond with a toothy grin. The villain gazed at them intensely, tracing a finger across their cheek which slowly turned scarlet.
“Because…I notice how you put a front around the public. Your fans. Your colleagues. Your so-called “friends”. You have a reputation to uphold, so naturally you put up that stoic facade around the people that rely on you.” The villain spoke in a hushed, velvety tone as they casually wrapped their arms around hero’s shoulders. “Well…all except for me.”
Hero’s eyes widened and they attempted to stare at anything else in the room to escape Villain’s alluring presence and the skin-tight leather touching their skin. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“There’s no need to lie to me puppy.”
Their honeyed voice along with the sudden pet name nearly flooded the hero’s senses, almost enough for them to listen to any of the villain’s commands.
“Don’t you want to be free…? I know you must be so tired of hiding. So, why not let yourself go, hm~?”
It didn’t take long for their enemy to brush their lips against theirs, soon giving the hero the night of freedom they had always desired.

"You're a cute one.." The villain loomed over the hero, Who just backed away from their shadows - fear absorbing in their gazes as they felt bricks prickling their cape. The Villain trapped them with a large menacing grin on their face.
They chuckled, hypnotizing "You seemed new to this city. I've never seen you from around here. Tell me now, what is your name?"
The hero felt like a squirrel cornered by a fox but they couldn't fall under their trap so easily, They are trying to manipulate them! The hero has to break out from their thoughts "I- N-No I won't fall under your spell, Witch! You are a villain and the bad guy, I am trained to stop you and your cruelty!"
....The villain had an uncertain look on their face, Certainly not hurt if Hero could inspect their face carefully - The criminal whispered, a smirk returning "We'll see."

hi hi hiii! can i request a swordfighting scene between villain and their sidekick? anything else is up to you <3
 CW. Blood
“You are the hero's comrade.” the villain sneered, pointing the edge of the blade against the sidekick's neck. The sword was imbued in a bloody red aura, cracking after it grazed the sidekick's skin; whose blood trickled down without the wound healing. The villain's gaze darkened by the sight of the blood, cutting the wound deeper while ignoring the winces leaving the sidekick's throat. They wanted this person's cut off, but wouldn't it make the hero sad?

They raised their sword, preparing the blade to cut the sidekick's neck with graceful control and precision. But before their blade reaches the sidekick's skin, a shimmering yellow aura halts them, knocking the blade out of the villain's hand. The hero came to save the day, kicking the sidekick away from their enemy's reach, and slashing strands of the villain's hair. Their blade was close to cutting their enemy's neck, but crimson red energy halted their sword. All they could do was grit their teeth in annoyance, pulling away their swords and swinging on the other side of the villain's neck.

But this time, the villain created a vicious crimson sword with black and red edges fighting in dominance; in which, defending the hero's second attack. “Long time no see, hero,” they snickered, their black robes swinging with the breeze while dodging the hero's impending attacks. Their swords clashed together at a speed no human could see, and despite having power— the sidekick could only grit their teeth for not being able to watch them fight. Even if they try to help the hero, they'll die in a single incision, without mercy.

The fight never ends as the dust continues to cloud around them, their powers fighting in a lightning strike for every clash of their blades.  Gold and crimson dance inside the globe of dust, and it is clear none of them desires to give up. The sidekick watched the fight , waiting for the hero to come out with the villain's head in their hand. The swords meeting together finally come to an end, then the globe of dust fades.

The villain's sword breaks into pieces, but recreates again with a single snap of their finger. Their hero, yet, only wiped their sweat and raised their hand— pulling the invisible thread they tied around the villain— their nemesis came flying in front of them, kneeling like an obedient dog with a leash on their neck.

“Fascinating,” the villain said, dropping their sword on the ground and dissipating into the air. “I never knew you had such a playful trick,”

“Of course, you knew.” the hero stared at the villain's grin, but why does the sidekick feel betrayed rather than excited? The hero has the villain's life on their hand, this is worth celebrating! They stood up but fell on the ground as if they were limp. Confusion played on their faces, they were about to shout for the hero's help but stopped when no sound came

out of their mouth.

What the hell is happening?

“You tried to kill my sidekick.” they ran their thumb on the villain's lips, gazing at their villain like how a lover would stare at each other. “And you've fallen in love with my thread like a dog feeling a sense of belonging, how could I not suspect that you want to experience it again?”

Those words sent heat down on the villain’s body, acting like this is indeed worth it if the hero is going to treat them in this way. They intentionally covered the sidekick’s presence, even if the hero is well aware their comrade is watching with an open eye. Both chose to ignore the surprised sidekick, covering their eyesight with fog for them to stop peeping. The hero gave a side way glance on their helpless sidekick staring in nowhere, then returned their gaze at the villain on their knees.

“What experience?” the villain asked, batting their eyelashes as a faint breath escaped their lips after the hero pulled the thread up— blood trickled on the golden thread, grazing the villain's skin like a scalpel. Rather than wincing on the pain, a leer draws on their lips, gazing at the hero with hazy eyes. They reached at their neck, feeling the dull thread on their neck and the blood decorated on it. “Oh this?”

“… Exactly,” the hero muttered under their breath, their aloof gaze unalterable, though there was a faint blush flushing on their ears that the villain noticed. The villain cocked their head, extending their hand to stroke the blood on the hero’s cheeks, down to their lips. A smile ran on their lips, staring at their hero with daring eyes. They stopped their hand on the hero’s chest, clutching it, and ripping it apart, revealing the fresh wound they marked yesterday. The fresh wound scarred into the villain’s initials, their eyes flashing red when the blood on their hand marks it again.

“I wonder who is the real dog right now,”

“For such a cute little kitten to want a leash, you are really daring.” the hero breathed out, “I may be your loyal servant, but it doesn’t mean that I can’t tie you up in a bed.”
———————
Well, this one was a really fun piece! One of the 2022 last pieces before 2023!

Call them stupid, foolish even. Hero knew such things were quite true, they had to be if they still weren’t past this. Why couldn’t they just be past this, this infuriating, dangerous, electrifying mess- yes it was wonder how they couldn’t manage to move on.
Deep into the night and they still stood with fists upraised. Something warm ran down their cheek, and when Hero raised their hand to brush it from their cheek their fingers came away red. Metallic scent, heart racing- the fight wasn’t over yet.
The concrete ground quivered beneath their steps, closer, closer, closer. Villain dragged their weapon along the ground with a wicked smile. The streetlights left a glow behind them like a halo. A fallen angel, they could destroy universes. They sure had destroyed Hero’s.
“Had enough yet?” White teeth shone against a blood-red smile. Hero couldn’t look away. Their fists tightened, adrenaline pumping even despite the sting of their wounds.
“Actually,” Hero said, offering a grin of their own. Something flickered in Villain’s expression when they spoke up. Surprise? Intrigue? Either way, Hero latched onto it, locking eyes with Villain’s sharp gaze, “It seems we’ve only just started.”
“One of these days you’ll fall apart. What then? It’s impossible to pick your battles if you’re not here to choose them.”
“I suppose I’ll just have to face them all then. Decisions are always such a chore anyway.” Like the choice of facing Villain’s gaze. Hero had debated too many nights whether they could stand that cruel smile again, whether it was right to-
Something was wrong with the way their stomach erupted in a swirl of butterflies from Villain’s silver-tongued words, or the heat that came to their face each time they gazed into those clever eyes. Hero had to be sick, poisoned with such an interesting figure.
“It’s fascinating, you’re not like the others. Afraid of me, I mean.” Villain advanced forward, though their stance had gone from menacing to something with more consideration.
Hero smiled, “I don’t know what you mean.” Banter. It was always like this, exchanged words laced with challenges. The thrill of the fight could only bring so much excitement, but this-
Hero’s breath hitched as Villain unexpectedly took a step closer. Blade sheathed at their side, their gaze was still just as sharp. “I don’t believe that’s all quite true my dear.” Words whispered like promises, Villain’s hand slipped easily around the Hero’s arm. They had been too stunned to react.
“You see…those who aren’t consumed with terror are just as easily filled with hatred or fury- but you,” their gloved hand slipped up to Hero’s wrist, thumb brushing ever so delicately across their skin. It shouldn’t have bothered Hero -the touch was barely anything intimate- and yet a gasp escaped their lips. Villain grinned devilishly, “there’s something going on in that brilliant mind of yours that you don’t want me to acknowledge.”
Hero swallowed, “That is the point of secrets, is it not?”
That made the Villain laugh. Laugh. The sound left Hero’s chest tight as Villain’s expression grew dangerous. “What you have is no secret darling, it's actually quite obvious if you can’t seem to believe it yourself.”
It all happened in a split second. None of the extensive months of training could have ever prepared Hero for this, not when Villain had smirked so cleverly before spinning Hero so their back pressed up against the wall. Hands bracketed on either side of Hero’s head, all accompanied by Villain who was now much too close.
“Admit it,” they said with a smile, “You’ve wanted me since day one.”
“Any sliver of logic would wish nothing of the sort.”
“I didn’t ask about logic. My accusations lie on you.” Villain punctuated the last word as they leaned closer. Hero wished to perish right then and there.
“I don’t have to admit anything,” Hero bit back.
“So naive,” the words flowed like molasses. Villain’s hand slipped down from the wall to trace the curve of Hero’s jaw, “I never said I needed the confession in words.”
Their lips connected with the Hero’s, and everything they had pushed away emerged in a swell of bliss. It was wrong, so horribly wrong and yet Hero melted beneath their touch. Villain smirked against their lips and Hero couldn’t help but pull them closer. They had been quite right after all, Hero hadn’t been able to stay away since the beginning.
And really, was it such a bad thing? Hero would only have to wait to find out.

“W–we're alone.” the hero nervously stated, a bit of sweat dripping down their forehead.
“Correct.” the villain purred, crowding them against the wall. “No pesky media to interrupt us in sight.”
The hero swallowed hard. They felt stupid for letting themself get caught again by the villain.
The villain grinned, all teeth, and pinned the hero to the wall, hands mercilessly on either side of their head, allowing no way to escape their grasp now.
The hero’s face reddened, still speechless.
“What’s the matter, darling? Cat got your tongue?” the villain tilted their head in a way that made the hero’s heart slam in their chest.
“Wh–what do you want?” it was barely above a whisper.
The villain ignored them, their luscious gaze flicked to the hero’s lips, and then back up to their eyes, drinking up the sight in front of them.
“You look beautiful like this, cornered and confused and so easily flustered. Makes me wonder what you’d look like if I just..” the villain leaned closer, their breath brushing hot against the hero’s ear.
The hero’s face coloured further, an unsavoury feeling blooming in their stomach. “Get away from me.” they hated the crack in their voice.
“But your little reactions are just so adorable, darling.” the villain murmured, voice honeyed and thick.
“Let—” the hero’s voice cut to gasp as the villain started trailing kisses down their neck. They bit their lip, resisting the moan rising in their throat.
“S–stop..” the hero managed, begging, “You can’t just.. just kiss me–.. like that.”
They felt cold as the villain suddenly let go of them, feeling strangely empty, like a part of them was missing.
“Well, that was fun. See you next time.” the villain said and was about to turn around to leave when the hero, unable to suppress their instincts, clutched their shirt and yanked them back, pressing their lips together in a passionate kiss.

Flowers for the Shadow Man
Part 1 : Part 2
Written by: @heroes-villains-side-blog★@tratieisdabest★@just-a-space-rabbit
TW: breaking and entering
❘〣❘〣❘ ★ ❘〣❘〣❘
Shadows simply nodded in response, once again amused with her, and once again pinker, though really redder, than before.
Alexandria slowly regained her composure. "Well… what do we do now? I'd like to get to know you better before a date, which is… sort of the point of those, but I just know Mender will find out somehow, and we'll be spied on by their little club thing. Well, that is, if they keep meeting."
Shadows cocked his head in thought, a motion that Alexandria found adorable, before answering, "Well, we could just talk? Like you have my phone number, which, by the way, would've been a smart recourse to use, so you wouldn’t have had to break in —"
Alexandria's glow returned, flustered to hear yet another flaw in her plan. Gosh, this was embarrassing; normally she was pretty level-headed, but Shadows just messed that up.
"--- and we could figure out times when we can meet up, like on a rooftop, or here or something."
Alexandria nodded, and then there was silence. Neither of them knew what to talk about. So, after about… 5 seconds of that awkward silence, Alexandria blurted out, "Let's play 20 questions! You can go first!"
Shadows looked over at her in slight surprise; the sudden words had startled him, but he actually liked the idea quite a lot! And so, he began to think of the perfect first question, leading to another few seconds of awkward silence. Finally, he said,"I suppose we should start small. What's your favorite dessert?"
The hero thought for a moment before answering, "Anything chocolate, though especially when Mender bakes it for me!" Shadows happily took in the new information; Alexandria was very, very supportive of her sidekick, loved her baking, and also loved chocolate! Perhaps one day, Shadows would get a chance to work with Mender to make something for the hero, but there wasn't too much time to think about the simple answer because it was Alexandria's turn!
Before asking, she scanned the room, clad in red and black, similar to much of his base and his costume. "What's your favorite color?" she asked with slight sarcasm.
But Shadows just smiled and answered, "I've always loved the color yellow! That's why I have lots of sticky notes in that color." At that, he pointed to his desk, which had a rainbow of sticky notes, but contained 3 shades of yellow. It wasn't immediately noticeable, though, since the yellow ones were used so often that the stacks had gotten progressively thin, all combing to about the size of one. Alexandria looked surprised at the answer, but he really wasn't sure why. Why would she ask if she thought she already knew the answer?
"Huh. I… wasn't expecting that." Alexandria said, gazing around the room to try and find more hints of yellow. When he noticed that, he realized the reason for surprise; everything was always red! But who was going to take a villain seriously if they were clad in yellow, unless maybe their power was, like, bee related.
"Well what's your favorite color?" Shadows asked, voice full of challenge. If the answer was anything but orange, it basically proved his point of favorite colors not always being the best color to use (no it wouldn't). Which would make Alexandria look a bit silly, and if he was lucky she'd flustsd again!
But she just looked at him in confusion before saying, "Orange? Though yellow is definitely nice too." Okay, so maybe his plan didn't totally work, and now he's the embarrassed blushing one, but it's fine, it’s not like he's not grumpy that his amazing plan failed.
Questions like these continued on for a while.
"Your favorite crime you ever committed?" Alexandria asked.
"Well, once I stole a whole merry-go-round for Kim and Hirra to play on. They loved it, and Hirra still hangs out on it sometimes! But any one that means I get to see you is lovely." Shadows replied. And the hero flusters (success!).
"What was your favorite agency mission?" Shadows asked.
"Hmm, I really liked solving the mystery of the stolen Corinthian vase. It was one of Mender and I's first missions together, and and she taught me a lot about ancient Greek and Roman pottery that week. It was annoying that the thief escaped though. But to echo your words, any crime you commit is lovely." And the villain blushes (success!). "Dogs or cats?" She asked.
"Well, I like them both, but I think cats. They sort of remind me of Hirra if that makes sense." Shadows replied. No blush, but a cute parent moment, so… success! "Cats or dogs?" He echoed.
"Dogs. I've always wanted one, and they wouldn't mess with my things as much, so dogs. Cats are… scary." Alexandria replied. No fluster, but this one was just for information, so… success!
But the two did have deeper questions as well, and Shadows was the first one to ask.
"When did you decide to be a hero? Like, at what moment did you really want to be one?" Shadows asked, a bit nervous since it was a bit more deep than the previous questions. But Alexandria seemed perfectly fine with it, much to his relief.
"Well, when I was little, I just wanted to help people, you know? I got a few nosebleeds trying to save the other kids from bullies, stuff like that. Then I started developing powers so the agency came and explained my parentage — grew up at an orphanage, my parents died when I was really young, you know?" she said the words so casually like they didn't really mean much to her, but he could tell from her face there was a deeper story. "So I decided to go to the academy at the time. It seemed like a good idea; I got to learn how to control my strength and just help people."
Shadows’ face did not change, but internally, he knew from personal experience that that wasn't all there was to it.
"And then I became a sidekick at 15, something I later fought against. But at the time it just seemed like the natural thing to do." That wasn't fully true, but it was a lot to explain, so she left it at that.
Shadows had a lot of questions and thoughts whirling around in his head after all that, but he could tell this was a complicated subject and didn't press for more explanation.
Alexandria did want the answer to the opposite question, why did he become a villain. She definitely planned to ask that later in the game, because she was only ready for one deep question at a time. Instead, she asked, "Why do you call me 'my lady'?"
Shadows’ reply was not immediate, but the reaction was; his eyes widened and his skin colored as he tried to find a plausible reason to give her, before just giving up and telling the truth.
"Well, it's two main things, I suppose. First, I wanted to flirt a bit, and it was more original than the stereotypical flirty villain calling the hero 'darling,'" he said the last word in a slight flirty tone, making Alexandria immediately fluster. "The bonus of this is that it makes you get all flustered, which is very cute and pretty." She glowed a bit more. "And, secondly," he looked the hero directly in her eyes, "I suppose I wished you were 'my lady'. I mean, we've established I have a 'crush' on you, and those often come with wanting to date the person in question." He finished his second point with a small smile in her direction, which of course made her get even more flustered (success!) and smile back.
It was normally a bit hard to tell when the hero was "blushing" due to her skin tone. Instead, she had a light glow, and it had become glaringly obvious (pun intended) this close when she was flustered. But it was his turn to ask a question, and as soon as he thought of it, his eyes had a noticeably devious glint. "Did it work?" he asked innocently.
She looked up at him, her flustered state breaking due to confusion, "Did what work?"
"The pet name? Did my flirting work well? Would you be willing to someday go on a date with me, after a few more of these talks?" He said with a slight smirk, already having a guess as to her response.
The flustered state immediately returned (success!) and she sputtered out an answer, "Um, well… yes, I guess. Well, not guess. I would like to go on a date with you! And you're very good at flirting — shoot, I didn't mean to say that out loud. I… you. I brought you flowers! What do you think Mr. 'Would you like to date me?’" She said the last part in a mocking voice, trying to recover, but it didn't work.
"Ah, my apologies, my lady. It was quite foolish of me not to realize," He said with amusement.
"Hey! No!" She wagged her finger at him like he was a naughty cat. "You don't get to do that anymore! It's run its course, you're done."
Shadows was not done, "Oh no, my lady —" fluster, "I think I'll be keeping it now that I can see how well it works! In fact, I believe I'll be using it whenever I can, no matter how inappropriate the timing is."
She glared at him, which would've been scary if not for the fact she'd become so flustered that her ears had slightly reddened. Whatever could've caused that? When he simply raised an amused and unimpressed eyebrow at her, she changed course.
"Alright, well, did you like the flowers?!" She asked, hoping to throw him off. But all he did was gently put his hand over hers before reaching over to grab the vase.
"They're beautiful. I love them," he said with a soft smile. "No one has ever given me flowers before."
Alexandria gasped in outrage at the statement. "That is ridiculous! Everyone deserves flowers, even stupid cute flirty villains." At that, he grinned up at her cutely.
"You think I'm cute?" He asked with amusement and also delight.
She pinched her nose, annoyed the villain was clearly winning at… whatever this was. "Well,, like… objectively."
Shadows looked at her, already knowing exactly what to say. "Really? That's odd, since no one had called me cute since I was a child."
The hero fell into the trap. "Well, that's also ridiculous! I mean, you have a sweet little nose, and freckles, and your hair is so pretty and — hey! Stop doing that!" she said, realizing what he'd done as he listened intently with a smile.
"Alright, I'm sorry. But it was very sweet, my lady!" He replied, unable to resist one last quip. She looked at him disgruntled, though of course flustered (success!). "Now, I do believe it's my turn. What's your favorite season?"
"Either winter, since I get to go sledding, or summer, because I get to swim. Oh, and also hot cocoa and lemonade are great!" She said shortly, still a bit flustered from all the earlier flirting. Shadows simply nodded in approval.
"What about you? What's your favorite season?" She asked.
"Well, they all have pros and cons, you know? Summer and winter are great for the reasons you said, but also are way too hot or cold. Spring and fall are nice, since I get to wear sweaters in fall and see the leaves, but everything is dying. In spring, everything is blooming and on some days you can still wear sweaters, but the ambiance is sort of interrupted by all the poor souls with allergies sneezing up a storm." Alexandria nodded in sympathy at that. While she wasn't allergic to pollen, she had friends who were, and they always seemed miserable in the spring. As one had put it whilst rubbing at their eyes, "Flowers pretty but itchy."
Shadows continued his little speech. "So I guess they're all alright. I do agree that winter is quite nice, since no one can really commit crime then. It becomes a break of sorts." Alexandria knew exactly what he meant. Winter was also nice because everyone got a bit of a break; the cold forced a ceasefire, and even on the relatively warmer days villains chose not to commit crimes out of courtesy.
It was now Shadows’ turn, and he had a question that'd been eating at him since he first saw Alexandria was breaking into his room. "What kind of flowers are these?"
Alexandria brightened at that. Her friend, who was a florist, had some extras and gave them to her. And they always went on long rants about flowers and their meanings, so she knew all there was to know about these. "They're white, camillas and carnations. They mean-" she cut herself off at that, realizing that neither of them were ready for a love confession (she wasn't even sure if she was there yet), so she needed to leave some of the meanings out. "They mean that I think you're adorable, and also that I have pure intentions." Shadows blushed at the confession, and gave her a light smile.
Alexandria had that deep question sitting in her mind for a while, and she just couldn't contain it any longer. Hopefully it wouldn't ruin everything.  "Why did you become a villain? If you don't mind me asking, that is."
Shadows blinked, surprised by the question. Clearly it'd been sitting in her mind since he first asked her the opposite. "Well… I didn’t grow up wanting to be a villain. In fact, it was the opposite. But…" He paused, unsure how to best explain. "I had this 'friend' in uni, he… ruined everything for me,” Shadow said before pausing. Just the memories alone were painful, but talking about it felt both better and worse at the same time.
“In our last semester of uni,” he continued, “I finally felt that my life was going the right way, and then he took that away from me. He destroyed all of the chances and opportunities I had for a good life. And the worst part was that he succeeded in every way. I ended up with no mentor, lost my bachelor’s degree, got expelled, and even though the person that had given me the job still wanted me, the Aura commission would not allow it.”
He took a deep breath before continuing, looking at Alexandria for a second, who had wide and equally outraged eyes. "My parents never liked my powers, thinking they meant I was evil, which is stupid! So when they were 'proven right' by this, they cut me off."
“So I felt cornered, and alone, and sad, and didn’t know what to do. I left Nizorro and became a villain, the very same thing my parents had said I’d end up as. It was just for survival at first, but is now something that I do because I can help people through it. But anyway, originally I um… well… we, that being Kim and me, just came back to Nizorro so that they could go to university here. Then we took in Hirra, and I'd also reunited with some old friends, so we just stayed…”
He noticed Alexnadira’s expression, so hastily added, “But, don't feel too sorry for me! If I had the chance, I’d do the same thing again” he said with a light smile.
Alexandria was shocked to say the least, “What? After everything that happened to you? After your parents and fake friend? Why?”
“Kim and Hirra,” he said softly. Alexandria’s mind stopped for a moment but Shadows continued,  “I don’t even want to think what would have happened to those two, especially Hirra, if I wasn’t there as a villain at the right time and place.”
She smiled at the last bit, but still pulled him into a tight hug. "I’m so happy you found Kim and Hirra, but I wish you hadn't had to go through all that for that. It just sounds so terrible, and nobody deserves that, especially not someone as sweet and kind as you."  Shadows clung to her before pulling away in slight embarrassment.
"Gosh, I'm clinging to you like a toddler when I don't even know your real name," he said, annoyed with himself.
Alexandria looked at him for a moment and then said one word. "Alexa."
He looked up at her in confusion. "What?"
"My name is Alexa. You don't have to give me yours, but I would like to have it some day."
He thought for a moment, wondering if he trusted her before realizing: He had let her babysit his children. He had given her one of his biggest secrets freely; very few people knew about his past. And she trusted him enough to give him part of her civilian name. So he obviously trusted her. "Lukas. My name is Lukas."
Alexa smiled at him before her phone suddenly pinged. "Well, it was nice talking to you, Lukas. Very lovely name, by the way. But I'm afraid I have to go or my sidekick will come looking for me." She moved to the window, which he unlocked with a button on his watch, before waving. "Bye! Also, don't read all the notes I wrote, they're stupid and embarrassing."
Lukas was absolutely going to read those notes, but all he did was nod and reply, "I’m absolutely going to read those notes.” The crime-fighter groaned. “Have a nice night, Alexa." As soon as she was out the window and sight, he rushed to the nightstand the flowers were on and collected all the crumpled notes on it.
"Dear Shadow Wraith, I think you're really cute and it seems like you maybe feel the same? You don't have to or anything but my sidekick is very smart so it seems likely. But anyways —" the note cut off.
He read every single one, and determined 3 main things.
One: Alexa feels her sidekick is one of the smartest people in the world (how sweet!).
Two: Alexa also thinks that about Lukas (that made him blush).
Three: Lukas is very sweet/cute/adorable/kind/amazing/etc (which also madke him blush, though he smiled a bit since he knew the confession made her blush as well).
Thank goodness he had such a good security system, otherwise they may have never had this talk and he would have had to wait even longer to get her name (not that he would've minded).
Alexa was met with an interrogation when she got back to her and her sidekick's shared room.
"Where were you?" Sadie asked as soon as she entered.
"I was on patrol, like I said." Alexa calmly replied, taking off her mask and grabbing some sweatpants and a shirt to change into (she had come in through the window, which Sadie had apparently been expecting).
Sadie immediately raised her eyebrows. "You sure about that?" Alexa simply nodded in response, closing the door to the bathroom so she could change and quickly use the toilet. When she came back out, Sadie was on her bed, staring her down.
"Well, I called the agency to double-check since when you do late patrols you typically only do small ones for just an hour or two. It’s 12:15. You left around when the text was sent, so 8:57. It had been over 2 hours, so I was worried, so I called the agency at 11:47. They said you hadn't done a patrol since earlier today.” Sadie stared her down. “Where were you?"
Alexa was caught, but had a plan to get out of it. "Isn't that my business?" she rhetorically asked.
Sadie hummed before answering. "Yes, but you don't have to lie. All you had to say was 'I'm going out for a while', but you felt the need to cover your tracks. Now the question is, what tracks are you covering?" she asked, brown eyes drilling into the other hero's soul.
"Well, why don't you tell me, Detective Sadie?" Alexa asked, dodging the question.
"Well, your flowers are missing.” She nodded in the direction of the empty vase. “Were you giving them to someone? A date, perhaps?"
Alexa had 3 moves here. Tell the truth, say she had a date, or come up with a different lie.
"I didn't have a date. I was bringing them back to my friend, Firefly, you know, the florist, since they were from a new supplier and she wanted to check for quality." Lie, it was from the same usual supplier and had been extras from a wedding. "I forgot to bring them back, but they'll probably want to do a few experiments on them anyway, so it's fine."
Sadie blinked at her, an impassive poker face put on. "Fine. I'm not sure if I believe you, but it's your business. Just don't do anything dangerous… though I'm not really sure how flowers could be dangerous. Maybe you could fasten them into an arrow, like in that one Norse myth." Oh, Alexa had an opening.
"Could you tell me that one again? I can't fully remember it…"
Sadie leapt up and grabbed a rolling whiteboard from the other room. "Okay, so listen." She began drawing a few images on the board. They'd probably be up a bit late, but tomorrow they were planning to take a day off anyway, so it wasn't too bad.

Remember when Katsuki was all, "Now I don't expect this to change a thing between us," and proceed to call Izuku by his name, and even getting fluster by saying it later. 😏 Yet he says nothing is going to change lol! 🤣🤭
