Crowley would absolutely be sympathetic towards Cain after he killed Abel.

Think about it, Abel was the first human who died.

Cain didn't know that death was an option.

Just like the rebel angels didn't know that Falling was an option.

My silly little Good Omens headcanon is that when Crowley tempted Eve, it wasn't simply him crawling outta nowhere and hissing in her ear to eat the apple. I like to think that they have talked for some time. There were plenty of nice days to do so, after all, and they probably became friends at some point. But we know how Crowley is, so he eventually started thinking about how boring his bestie's life is. And by a lucky coincidence, the whole tree of knowledge deal he was in charge of sounded like something he could offer to her as a remedy for the monotony of all those endless nice days. So he did tell her that, while it is potentially dangerous, as the terms of reference given to him by the head office don't clearly state the consequences of breaking that one dumb rule, it will undoubtedly change something. And Eve replied "You know what, mr danger noodle? You might be right, that does sound kinda enticing, actually, and the apples do look appetizing. Surely Adam would also be curious to taste one"
