“Hey uh, can I speak to Commissioner Gordon?” Officer Patricia Nolan looked up from what she’d been doing and stared. “It’s important,” the teen leaned forward conspiratorially, “Bat business, y’know?” The bullpen was always loud but right now it was silent, everyone stopping to watch their visitor. Just her luck Pat’s desk was the first one when you entered.

“Yes, I can see if he’s available,” she said faintly, glancing quickly over at what the boy was carrying in his arm but not sure how to broach the subject. She wasn’t as familiar with the capes as some of the others. “I’ll see if he’s available,” she continued as she picked up the phone on her desk. Her hands did not shake, her voice did not quiver. She was a Gotham City girl through and through, not much rattled her these days. But that’s not to say that the situation in itself wasn’t strange. Matt from from Vice speed walked by and was staring so hard he walked straight into the wall.

“Gordon,” the Commissioner answered with a sigh.

“Hey, It’s Pat Nolan,” Pat began. “You’re needed down in the bullpen, there’s a uh hero who wants to talk to you.” She glanced at the teen who was looking around the bullpen curiously. “It’s not a Bat.”

“Christ,” Gordon groaned. “Well who is it? Nevermind, I’m on my way. Too damn late for this; I thought Batman told all the other capes to stay out of the city?”

“He did, sir but I don’t exactly take orders from Batman,” the boy grinned. Pat gripped the phone a little tighter realizing he could hear Gordon through the phone. “And you probably guessed from the symbol that I’m Superboy,” he lowered his colored sunglasses with one hand. “The Suberboy.”

“Superboy will be waiting for you,” She said dutifully before replacing the phone. “The Commissioner will be down in a moment, do you want to sit?” Pat wasn’t entirely sure how to handle the situation so she just automatically defaulted to polite. It’s the reason her desk was so close to the front. 

“Nah, I’m good plus I gotta hold onto my precious cargo,” Superboy said, giving ‘his cargo’ a light bounce in his arm. Being able to hold that kind of weight singlehandedly without any sort of strain, that kind of alien power you only saw once you crossed the river to Metropolis. 

“Alright, I’m here, what do you- Christ on a Bike is that Robin?” Gordon jolted as he rounded the corner in his rumpled trench coat. “Is he alright?” He said but his tone was calm. Because while it was worrisome that the Boy Wonder was in the station at all, much less being held at Superboy’s hip like a toddler, the kid looked okay. His tights were a bit scuffed and he smelled vaguely of smoke but he looked entirely at ease in the other’s arm. His cheek was resting comfortably in the crook of Superboy’s neck looking, for all intents and purposes, deeply asleep.

 “Oh yeah, he’s fine,” Superboy shrugged. “Rob’s just been working this arms dealing case for like, a week straight. No one is exactly sure when’s the last time he slept so once he got everything sorted, he just crashed. So anyway,” he reached into his jacket and didn’t seem phased by half of the bullpen reaching for their weapons. 

He pulled out a USB and dangled it in front of Gordon. “Before he was forcibly put on the Dreamland Express, Robin wanted you to have this. It’s all his notes on the guns, who’s supplying them and evidence leading back to the guys in charge. We got some of the small fish tonight but you need a badge to get the the bigger ones.”

“Thanks,” Gordon mumbled, grabbing the USB hesitantly, like it was going to explode. “If I may ask, how did you get involved with this? Did the arms dealing originate in Metropolis?” Detective Mac groaned quietly in the back. They hated intercity especially investigations but it was worst with Metropolis, all ‘Superman this’ or ‘Superman that’. Pat kind of gets it now, the Supers have such a strong presence to them.  

“Oh no, I think Robbie said these guys came from the south like Florida or something,” Superboy frowned. “I’m here because this one-” another light shake of Robin who still did not stir. “Got so wrapped up in this case he forgot our date night,” he rubbed at his eyes. “Found him making one of those string evidence charts on the fridge because he ran out of room on the counter.”

“And Batman?” Gordon questioned, like he didn’t want to know the answer. 

“I think he’s in Japan on League business,” Superboy tilted his head in thought, “or was it Norway? Anyway not here. Rob always goes a little overboard when Bats isn’t around to spray bottle him into taking a break like hello, you’ve got nothing to prove, we already know you’re super sexy and way smarter than Batman.”

No one quite knew what to say to that so they just stayed quiet. Superboy glanced at the clock and groaned.

“Shit, I didn’t realize it was so late. I’m gonna be in so much trouble when I get home once I drop this idiot off,” he ended his sentence with a soft kiss to the top of Robin’s hair. “Hey, did anyone catch the end to the Knights/Meteors baseball game? I caught some of the eighth inning when Rob and I raided the warehouse where they were storing some of the guns, I think the Meteors were up.”

“They were,” Detective Driver said with a smug grin. “it was 8-9 Meteors but Matheson hit a triple at the bottom of the ninth and it ended 9-12 for the Knights.” 

“Hell, we keep crumping at the last minute,” Superboy huffed. “I’m telling you that new pitcher they brought in from St. Louis ain’t cutting it; hope they trade him back at the end of the season.”

“Might as well trade the whole team while you’re at it,” Driver goaded. “Metropolis hasn’t put up a good showing since the miracle season of ‘93. If I were you, kid, I’d fly to a city with a better team.” 

“Man, get off my back,” Superboy grinned. A couple people gasped quietly when he lifted himself up off the floor. “And be careful what you say; I doubt Robin will move to me if we decide to move in together which means y’all,” he clicked his tongue and did a one armed finger gun, “will have to deal with me on a more long term basis. Anyway, thanks for the help and uh the service you do. See ya.” 

He turned and flew out the way he’d came, down the stairs to the main lobby and presumably out the front doors. And the whole time, Robin hadn’t moved from his slumber as if there were nowhere safer than his friend’s -boyfriend’s?- arms. 

“Well that sure was something,” Montoya grumbled from the back.

“Bad enough we got Batman and his little kid freaks running around but now he have Supers too?” Chandler groaned, resting her forehead on the desk. 

“Did you guys see-,” Stacy, the secretary and unofficial Batsignal operator said, poking her head in. She winced, “I guess you did.” She smiled and held her hands over her heart. “Well I think they’re cute, SuperWonder is so two years ago, SuperRobin is the only true ship.”

“I have no idea what you’re saying and I don’t want to know,” Gordon sighed, shoving the USB into his coat pocket and shuffling out of the bullpen. “If you need me, I’ll be going over this evidence and wondering why I’m still in the game if lovesick teenagers are doing my job for me.”

Probably going to redesign, I didn't have a clear idea of how I wanted them to look like when I made this.

So basically, I had an idea one day for an artwork about Sun in a big dark room like lab with computers, science stuff... and plushies, toys, crayons, childlike drawings everywhere and in the middle of the room Sun was sitting there with cables conected to his head and going so high to the ceiling they desapeared in the dark.

Vague recreation of the idea (I used it as a warm up because artblock)

And I was like, man what a cool idea.

what if it had lore?

And I made the story in two days and forgot about it.

I made THE STORY in two days, the concept art took me several and when it was finished I went 'OH FUCK I FORGOT ABOUT MOON' so I added him to the concept art... and to the story, which didn't change much but helped.

So the story lore whatever frankly idk:

Retrofuturistic world where Fazbear Entertainment is making experiments in animatronics with a sustance that makes inorganic components organic. Basically making the animatronics far more alive than they could ever have been (literally alive, like in a messed up way). Biological machines, for example: in the concept of Sun/Moon those teeth and eyes are pretty much real...

This would be called Biotecnologic, which is illegal to practice without a licence and state permision, and only for human benefit (prostetics for disable people for exsample). Fazbear Entertainment had to drop the project right the moment biotecnologi went illegal or they were going to jail. Which means now there are abandonet facilitys with a ton of disconected rotten animatronics... Except for one that turned back on for some reason...

Some time later, this idiot named Fern (selfinsert because idk how to do y/n so I toke my selfinsert and made a few changes, same name) who illegaly exited the city to illegaly dumspter dive in trash the goverment trows out of the city and into the nature outside (which prevents the world from healing right because they are dumb), went a little fared than they usually go and ended up finding the abandonet facilitys of Fazbear Entertainment. This idiot said 'haha cool :D' and went right inside. And that's how they met Sun (and Moon) who has amnesia and doesn't know why the place is empty or why this new person who knows nothing about is stealing lab equipament while intensely staring at him.

They got to be friends and started investigating the place trying to find out what happened in there before the project got canceled.

And a lot more but my brain is a little fried right now and it took me some effort to write this.

So, I'm super new to Thai BLs (as in, just started watching them a week ago, because I'm dumb and didn't realise how easy to access they were lmao) but I've watched a lot of romance (movies/shows) over the years, both queer and het. And I've seen a lot of onscreen couples with great chemistry!

Couples who look at each other in a way that makes you feel like you're intruding, or whose kisses (or more) are fire, or who do those longing looks that make you ache, or who are just so damn sweet together you get a toothache, etc. and so on. But I feel like it's rare to find two people who can do ALL of that really well?

But MileApo do (does?? IDK how to grammar with ship names lol) all of that extraordinarily well on top of being so. Fucking. Funny! Seriously. Finding comedic partners like that is a pretty rare thing too, I think

And then to balance all of that and have none of it feel forced??? To have two actors who have that comedic and dramatic range, who can be that vulnerable with each other, can play off each other like that, (and I think they're both really early in their careers? Like I said, I'm new here!), IDK... It's definitely special! All the praise I read beforehand was not undue

Neither of them can keep a secret btw, and Armin always ends up finding out about the cute secrets Annie tries to keep from him. They fight bullies and invent things. They're smort and stronk.

It is actively and regularly updating, thank fuck, because that little boost of serotonin is everything keeping me going I swear

The 70 Days After Groundhog Day is technically from Dick's POV, but it's about the aftermath of a timeloop that Jason was stuck in. it's. oh my god it's so good. just trust me on this one.

Emotional Motion Sickness is the "bruce goes to therapy" fic series we all want. canon get on this level

Retrograde Motion - I never used to like de-aging fics; not for any particular reason, I just never vibed with them. Recently I decided to see what all the fuss was about (bc there's so goddamn many in this fandom) and I'm glad, because I opened this fic and it's just. oh my god. the use of the de-aging trope here is truly incredible. after a whole week of dipping my feet into the trope I never need to do so again, because this fic made me fucking lose it. this is not going where you think it's going. also, for some reason there's not that much rebirth outlaws fic, and I really like what this author did with that team

matching wounds haha just gonna sneak my fic series on here and pretend that it was an accident, wait how did that get there (some jayroy later in the timeline too which can be read on its own if Jason coming home fics aren't for you)

Promise After That I'll Let You Go is a poisonivory fic. I was introduced to poisonivory through the daredevil fandom earlier this year and may I tell you when I found out that this author writes for jayroy I lost my goddamn mind. this is my personal favorite, but I almost recommended at least two more aus. Their jayroy sugar daddy au is one of the only sugar daddy aus I've ever truly enjoyed. also really like the one where roy has had feelings for dick since their teen titans days but still starts a fwb thing with Jason. poisonivory can make me into kinks I'm not even into I s2g. anyway this one has lian literally dragging roy back into jason's life

finally, Reciprocation (or: Sex as Violence) shouldn't even really count as a jayroy fic but I feel weird putting it in the other category since it is sort of a jayroy fic. it's ace-aro!jason, which is one of my personal favorite interpretations of Jason (with so much textual evidence wtf), but there's still like... a lot of sex in this. Jason does not have a healthy relationship with sex in this fic. I would describe this as ending in a QPP for jayroy and lian.

hussie, well known troll (haha) who more often than not both praised and made fun of the fandom directly in the comic, writes the epilogues. they're mostly awful and they're the umpteenth big fuck you to the fandom really; one is the "shipping" ending where everything goes bad bc everyone focuses only on shipping, the one is the "fighting" ending where everything goes bad and everyone fucking dies basically. it has some good ideas, there's more fourth wall breaking, but overall its an inconsistent sexist and misoginistic mess made out of spite by someone who clearly didn't want to work on homestuck anymore

it also features character assassination, be it "this character who's entire plot was about not wanting to be alone anymore is now a sex-crazed maniac who doesnt take no as an answer", "this character who was groomed all her life to be a dictator actually becomes hitler" or "this character who a lot of people hc as mtf is now ftm, but specifically in a timeline, in the other they still identify as female". you could argue it's bc the story is about one of the characters having a villain arc and managing to take control of the story and rewrite them, but he's also regressed to be someone who's obsessed with a character we were told he wasn't in love with anymore AND also says transphobic stuff so.

hussie actually opens the epilogues with one of the character saying pretty clearly that they're "beyond canon", and makes sure that everyone known that anything written outside of the comic itself, including sidecomics, videogames and the epilogues themselves, is as canon as you want it to be. unfortunately homestuck fans cant read and that + the fact that the epilogue end in a cliffhanger, homestuck 2 has to happen

hussie wants nothing to do with it and leaves the project to someone else. they give little to no details of the plot if not a few plotpoints, one of which being the fact that a character must be named yiffany

one of the people who was supposed to work on hs2 and the tie-in visual novel games "friendsim" starts fights with readers on twitter and is later on outed as a really bad person of the biphobic and ableist variety

on a minor note, some updates are patreon exclusive, and not in a "they'll eventually be posted" way, but in a "either you follow the patreon or you dont get the whole experience" kind of way

the story also has to follow the aformentioned sexist transphobic racist bullshit, to which they add terribly written "bury your gays" plot and also cheating!! no matter the timeline my girl kanaya gets shafted and cheated on and by now im gonna be real it really smells like lesbophobia in here

also futa jokes. like we all agree that the candy jade situation is fucked up right

in all of this, "what pumpkin" actually starts drama with a youtuber or something. idk. it's the team that sells the hs merch it's even more complicated. oh and also the videogame being so delayed that's a whole can of worms too.

anyway hussie actually says that they dont give a shit no more about homestuck and sell the rights to someone else. first thing we're told is that they're going to drop the 2 from the title of homestuck 2, turning it into homestuck: beyond canon. pretty much openly saying that no, this has nothing to do with homestuck, and it's officially Not Canon.

POV: Young Royals is an early 2000s Web 1.0 juggernaut megafandom

During my hiatus earlier this week, @heliza24 and I had a conversation about what Young Royals fandom would be like if it were not a modestly-sized tumblr fandom in the 2020s, but rather an early 00s juggernaut megafandom like the kind you saw on livejournal and individual web pages scattered throughout the internet.

Note: the tone here is 100% silly and inspired by a) my personal history in long ago fandoms and b) repeated viewings of fandom history videos by @strange-aeons. The internet had a bit more of a “wild west” feeling back in those days and you will see that reflected in our ideas.

A lightly edited transcript of my conversation with heliza about fanfic archive names and potential early internet dramas follows…

blue: So here’s a topic of discussion YR fandom hasn't done yet. What would each pairing's archive be called if we were watching this show in 2003? I feel like Wilmon would have a few archives, each with a different flavor. Like there'd be a catch-all archive that's pretty friendly and welcoming, an archive just made up of fics where they're adults, and then something for kink and/or dark fic (or those would be separate)

heliza: Our weird multi shipping poly archive is called sprucewood obvs!

blue: Oh there'd probably also be a Wilmon archive that's Edmar RPF-friendly

heliza: One of them would be called The Frog Prince and the Popstar. Maybe that's the RPF favorable one, idk.

blue: Originally was going to say the catch-all, but I think you're right. The catch-all friendly archive would be The Fish Tank.

heliza: Yes love that ahaha. Is the kinky one like Fuck the Monarchy or something like that?

blue: Something like that. Although. Okay there might be two adult archives, but only as a result of an intense fandom schism I feel like there'd be an offshoot of Fuck the Monarchy for people who want King Wilhelm and Prince Consort Simon. Something like King & Consort.

heliza: Ahahah yes perfect. I think there would be a separate Sargust archive! What would you call it?

blue: Yes! With a little cordoned off adult section with its own name. Hmmm I haven't thought of a name yet but I feel like the web design of it would be very Goth.

blue: Black backgrounds. Blood red rose incorporated in the web design. Horses, naturally.

blue: The Stedrika archive is called Lavender Crush because of Stella's hair in S2. It's small but the webmistress is very dedicated and very transparent with her updates.

heliza: yes haha and she's always trying to convert people to femslash. I feel like she would eventually let Sara/Felice and Maddie/Rosh in as well.

blue: I think she co-runs a second site called Manor House which is all YR femmeslash.

heliza: oh right of course

blue: The other webmistress of that site is her wife ten years later.

heliza: Yessss. Strangeaeons makes a video about them. Because there's enough drama but then they end up together

blue: Yes! I think the other mod ran a Rosh and Ayub fan page. Oh there'd be a general fandom archive called Hillerska Skolan Library or something, but it would be a lot of cross-posting. 

blue: I feel like we need a Forest Ridge archive too.

heliza: Is that where the Walty and Nilcent goes?

blue: Yes. And like. Alexander being shipped with various people. I feel like it's 2003 so there's lots of combos. And some Wilhelm/Simon/Henry? It would exist, don't ask me how I know, it's just vibes.

heliza: There's a renegade writer who keeps writing Wilhelm/Nils and one who posts August/Simon and it sends the site into an epic fight because there are some mods who insist that this is for ALL THE BOYS EXCEPT SIMON AND WILHELM. And some of them don't mind.

blue: Omg there'd be a small August/Simon archive too

heliza: The lavender crush people are like "wow those boyslashers are intense"

blue: But it's all cross-posting with Forest Ridge… Oh god. Oh god I just thought of the name of the Simon/August archive help.

blue: There's actually a violent schism among sargusters about whether it's ok to also ship Simon/August or not. This schism lines up almost exactly with one's sargust kink preferences and ability to have a sense of humor.

If a sargust writes Sara domming or writes them switchy, and they have a sense of humor, they definitely write Simon/August… also is the Forest Ridge archive just called Forest Ridge? Wait. blue: The mods who are against Kristina/Carl Johan would bitch in an AlM chatroom. Eventually screencaps are leaked, and the Kristina/Carl Johan people start their own archive called Unfortunate Romance.

blue: Ok one more thing. We need a name for the Felice specific archive. Where the Felice/Wilhelm/Simon polyshippers hang out in abundance. I grant this one to you, heliza.

heliza: Is that not Sprucewood? Or a different name?

blue: I leave it to you!

heliza: We haven't used sprucewood yet so I think we should!

blue: Sounds good to me!

heliza: Or if it's just Felice centered it could be Modern Nobility. I think Sprucewood is a reactionary thing actually, where the mods specifically say that all ships are allowed after drama has gone down at enough of the other sites.

blue: Yes. Sprucewood is also the most poly and kink friendly of the sites.

because the project only takes people off death-row at the time, in later testing, when those seem to be successful they'll be maybe hiring people for more testing and there has to be a control group that lives alongside them in the same conditions without getting modified, right?

for comparison, seeing what's because of the environment and what's because of the modifications, Shuichi could be in that group

unless you want them all to get modified, then I guess the control group can be strangers that don't interact with them, it's fun if it's all 16 of them, but also catboy x human…

Kirumi must have some ulterior motives, maybe she had to disappear because the rumor of teenage Prime Minister got a bit too loud, maybe she fucked up somehow, somewhere, but a new & low-profile identity will do her good or maybe she's here because the government is invested in the project, but why would it be?

Rantaro actually personally knows Togami, since they're both rich boys, but since Togamis have flexible moral spines they have access to some resources he wouldn't even know of. So, having something of a frenemy-like relationship, Amami asks him for help searching for his sisters and he's like "okay, but do this very stupid thing to entertain me in exchange"

lastly, Shuichi is there, because he can't let a mystery go and he has a fucking gut feeling that Kokichi was framed. unjust sentence? not on his watch (so yeah, he tries to get close to Kokichi to learn his side of the story. and they're cats)

The worst part is, Evan looks invested in the conversation. He looks far too relaxed, smiling, and leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. Peter and Barty must look insane leering at him behind the slot machines. What a horrid display from the owners of such an establishment! Peter doesn't really care, to be honest. Somebody is trying to take what's theirs, and that's just unacceptable. With a look at Barty, they share a nod and compose themselves, walking over to Evan and this mysterious woman. Barty opens his mouth to speak but before he can, Evan cuts him off.

"Barty! Peter! Lovely to see you my dears, have you met my cousin, Bellatrix? She's thinking of investing in our casino, isn't that nice?" He asks, clearly knowing the reason they came over. Barty snaps his mouth shut and promptly turns red, it's rather endearing, really. The woman, who is apparently Evan's cousin, smiles and holds out a hand to Peter who shakes it, his other hand still on Barty's shoulder, trying to squeeze him awake.

"Yes, yes, sorry, lovely to meet you Ms-?" Barty wakes up, shaking her hand firmly.

"Black," Bellatrix replies, smiling. There's a bit of a wild glint in her eye, which might scare most prospective business partners, but for Peter, Barty, and Evan? It's perfect. This is going to be a great arrangement, Peter's sure. "Well thank you so much for meeting with me, Vanny!" Bellatrix says, leaning in to messily kiss his cheek and walk away, waving behind her.

"Vanny?" Barty asks, wiping the lipstick off Evan's cheek and laughing.

"Oh shut up, I saw how jealous you both were just now," Evan replies with a smirk, brushing Barty's hand off. He raises an eyebrow, looking between his boyfriends. They try to come up with some semblance of excuse, failing miserably but Evan cuts them off. "Mm, no, jealousy is sexy." Barty turns red, yet again. "But you know what's sexier?" he asks, leaning closer. "We made $500,000 tonight, my loves," a shiver goes down Peter's spine. And well, it's almost 3am, when the casino closes for the night, so…
