“Armand Marius”, “Armand de Romanus”… why do the gods insist on making armandblr suffer this much? It’s the type of thing that kills the spirit, swear to god 😩 (but if they wanna go there, objectively speaking, Armand de Lioncourt has a much nicer ring to it).

Actually I have just learned it's something related to the show lmao apparently "Armand Marius" is tacked onto a poster outside the theater location where they're filming in Prague.

I'm not online much these days I don't know what's going on 😭

As for "Armand de Romanus" (which is what I was thinking of) yeah I was never fond of it because if Armand wanted to tie himself to Marius that way, he would've. He's the only one of the main cast with no last name in canon and I think that was very symbolic and intentional on Anne's part.

in ritual tonight with Hekate and part of it was crossing the veil to do some divination work and when I tell you I would’ve fallen over if I had been standing with the energy that hit me instantly upon asking this of her DAMN

Obviously I know Hekate is extremely powerful but I have only felt small amounts of it at a time. This was otherworldly. I truly cannot describe the intensity of it in words

• With Hekate(100) conjunct Moon in synastry you both pick up on eachothers shadow side easily.

• Venus can really show what we get easily, without effort. For example: Venus 8th house = Easily gets money and support from others, attracts potential sex partners, deep connections and/or admirers wherever they go. Venus 10th house = Gets peoples respect, status and promotions easily. Venus 7th house = Attracts harmony, tons of friends and contacts wherever they go, ease with relationships.

• Ive seen Saturn conjunct Midheaven in the charts of people who are very rarely approached in public. They look hard to get or like they would not like it if you came up to them. I have a friend with this aspect and shes the sweetest person but so many people thought she was a bitch before talking to her.

• Sag Placements are so graceful and clumsy at the same time.

• If you have a plutonian Moon or Venus you might feel like when you hang out with another woman one on one its wonderful and you bond but when there us a group of women the energy changes completely and they turn on you.

• If you hate someone and want to take them down, tell a fixed moon, they will help you with revenge. They will hate that person just like you do, a Leo Moon might even fight them for you. BUT dont overexaggerate or lie to a fixed moon bc they will know.

• Want to make a Virgo or 6th house dominant happy when they are going through a hard time? Ask them to help you with something, we looove to feel needed and its so important for our self esteem. Or tell them that advice they gave you really helped.

• Ive noticed that a lot of 8th house and Pluto placements when younger dont know how to protect their energy. I see these people might have a lot of friends on social media that they dont even know, watch brutal horror movies that leave them in shock, be around people they dislike, expose themselves and then they slowly realize just how many secret enemies they have and how scary this world really is and they learn to protect themselves. Especially those with hard neptune aspects.

• Also if you have 8th house placements resting in peace is not an option. People are going to keep gossiping about you, dig into your background etc even more after you pass away.

• Ive noticed that men with Sun or Mars aspecting Pluto can attract a lot of envy from other men, especially the Square and Conjunction. Or just attract a lot of attention from other men.

• If you find yourself in a situation where you are being threathened or blackmailed or a situation that just seems impossible to get out of, ask a scorpio or cancer moon, mercury/pluto person OR someone with pluto/neptune 3rd house. These people know the human mind like nobody else and know how to solve any situation. They will know exactly how to scare your enemy.

• I know someone with Medusa conjunct Ascendant and she got a Medusa tattoo on her hand🐍 She knew of the myth and lived it which is why she got the tattoo but she didnt know about astrology and that the asteroid existed, I checked her chart because I saw the tattoo. Astrology really is amazing.

• Someone with Juno(3) Square Venus might marry a woman who acts like his Venus and try to make her be more like his Juno sign, or vice versa.

• Someone with Juno Square Moon might want to marry a woman whos NOT like their mother. Unfortunately they end up with someone whos much more like their mother than they thought which creates conflicts. For example: The man was treated badly by his own father, his mother did nothing because the mother was passive and chose her marriage before her son and turned against her son. The son grows up to be attracted to extremely combative women who picks fights. Unconsciously combative women seems like the kind of woman who would never let their son be beat. He marries the combative woman because she seem to be what he wish his mother was. The woman turn out to not be that protective over family at all and neglects and picks others over him just like his mother did.

• People with Nessus(7066) conjunct personal planets are VERY sexual.

• People with Waldemath Lilith (h58) in the 2nd house gives the sexiest voice.

• Some of the kindest people Ive met had Jupiter conjunct Venus or Moon. Pure kindness. The kind of people to give just to give not to make people like them.

• Virgos and Taurus Suns either have no temper at all or a horribly hot temper.

• Someone with Venus Square Ascendant might feel a need to constantly improve their appearance. They be like ”Just wait until I get my brows done” ”Just wait until I fix my nose” ”Im just gonna lose some more weight then Im fine.” And it can go on for a lifetime.

dear chicken, if its not too much trouble, could i ask for your advice on a situation that's troubling me a lot as of late? my spiritual practice has been suffering due to my being torn between so many different interests and areas of hyperfocus, and i'm unsure how to reconcile all the different things that i'm drawn to but are so culturally different. for example, i'm in love with traditional english folk magic/witchcraft, and have done a lot of research on the regional folklore of places my ancestors are from. at the same time, however, i'm also in love with orphism, and feel no greater contentment and purpose than when i dream about devoting myself to the greek gods. to say nothing about historical/cultural differences and potential disrespect (ancient greece having very different ideas on what constituted "witchcraft" and whether or not it was hubris, for example) i'm just not sure how to even go about reconciling how these would work together as part of a practice. genuinely, i feel distressed, stuck, and as if i am simultaneously letting down my ancestors /and/ those who historical practices i have put on a pedestal.

Do you think it's possible that you might have very unrealistic standards for what it actually means to practice your faith?

Because, please forgive me if I'm wrong, but I have a sneaking suspicion that you might be making up a ton of rules for yourself.

Have your ancestors visited you and told you they would be disappointed in you if you practiced anything other than English folk magic? If so, why do you hold their opinions to be higher than your happiness? If so, what steps have you taken to reconcile your relationship with your ancestor and reach a place of mutual understanding so they won't be upset with you for doing what makes you happy?

Approximately one billion modern witches practice witchcraft and intentionally include the Greek gods in their witchcraft, or, have a faith centered around the Greek gods and practice witchcraft on the side. A Greek goddess has personally helped me with my witchcraft even though I'm not even a pagan.

Is there anything that makes you feel that you in particular would disrespect the gods by doing this, even though other people do it and it improves their relationship with the gods?

(I also just now remembered Hekate, isn't she like, the highkey Greek goddess of witchcraft? Why wouldn't she want you to both venerate the Greek gods and practice witchcraft?)

If the gods have told you that you can't practice folk magic without disrespecting them, what steps have you taken to understand why they have this special rule for you that they do not have for other people? Have they told you that this is temporary, or permanent? When you've offered solutions, what did they say?

And if these assholes are all banding up on you telling you that you can't do what makes you happy and weaponizing their disappointment to make you fall in line, why do you want to work with any of them at all? You deserve better.

But, Anon, I secretly suspect that none of that has happened. I suspect that you might have just made up a lot of rules for yourself and decided everyone will be mad at you unless you dedicate yourself to 1 thing and do it 100% perfectly.

I'm not saying that sometimes ancestors don't bully people into following a certain path, or that gods ask for very special levels of devotion once your relationship gets to a certain point. But I'm also not suspecting that this is the case for you.

It's just that, I dunno. To me it sounds like you're acting like any particular path you take is like locking yourself inside of a monastery to the exclusion of all else, like instead of starting out chill, you're wanting to start out as a devotee initiate ready to take lifelong vows.

Instead of just like, praying to Hermes to help with traffic and then later that week giving your ancestors a meal.

You're saying you don't know how this would look in practice, which makes me worry that you're trying to write a textbook about how to do your practice without ever actually having learned the material.

You can never know what it looks like before you do it.

You are not supposed to able to envision a complete, polished pathway before you put your hiking boots on.

You don't even need to be able to see around the first corner.

Toad charm to cure a cold, veil to limit Miasma. Pray to the ancestors, then to Zeus. I don't see the conflict. And if Apollo gets mad at you for doing your ancestral coffee grind readings because it isn't Greek enough for him, sort that out when it happens.

But wait until it happens before you worry about it.

Dandelion

Dandelions belong to the composites and their ordinary species of plants. You can spot them in Asia, Europe, as well as in North America. This plant can grow up to 40cm in height, its leaves are toothed and grow directly from the ground in a circular way. Their bright yellow, round blossoms, which are formed by many thin petals, make them easy to identify. Another distinctive feature are their hollow stems, filled with a milky substance.

As soon as the blossoms vanish, on their position appear their well-known seeds with their white parachutes – which get blown away for all kinds of wishes. The seeds can be easily carried away by even soft wind and that’s how dandelions spread their seeds, that’s why they’re also named “blowballs”.

As soon as you spot the first dandelions on meadows or even roadsides, we can be sure that the winter is mostly over at this point.

This plant does prefer the direct sunlight – and they grow in every place and are very frugal.

It’s best to harvest their leaves right away – after just a short time they produce bitter substances. They’re also best used fresh, since they’re not ideal to store over time. For their blossoms you better wait until they’ve fully opened up to pick. Remove the green parts on them, to use them in salads, vinegar, tea or even to refine wines.

Dandelion roots can be harvested too, best during autumn, as soon as it is rich in starch. But if you like it a bit sweeter, spring time would provide a harvest of the roots. So it’s a good time between September and February to dig the roots up. The best way to dry them is to cut them in small pieces and let them dry in a well aired and dry place. Later on they can be stored in containers in dark, cool places and can be used till up to a year.

In addition dandelion can be enjoyed raw and cooked. The blossoms go well in soups and broths, the root can be used grounded in coffees as well as in salads. Even in beer the dandelion can be used, as a refiner etc. – as you can see, this plant is very versatile.

Among botanicals it is known as the blowball.

Caution

Even though dandelions are widely spread and well-known, there is still a chance of danger of confusions with other plants! Dandelions do not have their leaves on the stems, stems got no hair and is hallow with a milky liquid inside. Per stem are only one blossom at time! Please consider all this facts and do not eat any plants without identifying them to 100%. Never forget: In case of sickness, you should always consult a doctor. Please don’t try to treat a sickness with the effects of any plant without the advice of a doctor.

Revamping my altar - Part 01🙃

Let's ingnore the fact that I ghosted my blog for the most part of this year and jump right in as if nothing happened....

Starting point

I'm a very aesthetically driven person and I'm bored with my current altar, which has been remained the same for a long time. (I thought I had a picture but I don't and it's gone now so oops...)

I want to create something that puts me in an inspired mood just by looking at it. That looks inviting and beautiful and brings me delight and motivation. A little sanctuary nook kinda.

I want to revitalize things and symbolize the new era i'm in, due to the fact that i recently moved into a new flat, got a new job, and overall my life is very different than it was last year.

So here is the journey of making my new altar :) At the moment it's far from done but here is the first part of the process!

Part 02 will follow once I've received the things I ordered, probably at the end of November or early December.

Inspirations

So i went on a quest to find inspirations on pinterest that would sort of align with what i wanted to make.

ngl I dislike most of what I see because I find them too cluttered for my personal taste. The main issue is that i'm clumsy and i hate the idea of my hand having to slither through a forest of objects to be able to grab what i want lol

Still managed to find a few cool examples, here they are:

I love the rough, folk-esque, natural aspects of them, the blend of stone, marble and wood. The branches, the sculptures, the iconic symbols and the fact that there is a variety of heights of things, if that makes sense. I also like having a strong art piece in the middle, which i prefer over having a mirror like many examples i found. Idk i just find the idea of having to stare at myself at my altar a bit uncomfortable lol

But it's still different from what would be authentic for me and also i gotta do with what i have or what i can buy.

The thing is that my altar is not dedicated to a single deity so i can't go with one strong themed vibe but i have to put them all together. Currently, Apollo, Artemis, Hekate, Dionysos, Hermes and Demeter share the same space.

Furniture

Thankfully the new book shelf I got is quite wide and has three levels, which is plenty enough space to give everyone their own space and even host my incense, tarot cards and spiritual books.

I almost sold a kidney to get an antique cabinet, which looked really cool but was not going to fit in with the interior style of my living room, where my altar is located.

So I went in with a more modern yet slightly organic-shaped one:

Not 100% what I was looking for but at least the space is there. Love the curves an the contrast of the two colors, but I wish the wood was darker. I could sand and re-varnish but who's got time for that.

Current state of the sculptures

I've been collecting sculptures and hand painting them for a while now (you can check out my pinned post for pictures of some of them), and although I love what I made, I really want to get some new ones that are higher and I'm even wondering if I should just keep them white and gold instead of colorful.

Also, for the life of me, I can't find a sculpture of Hekate that I like. They either look too bland or too new-agey for my taste. At the moment, I have the classic three women holding torches and stuff that I hand painted in blue, yellow and silver, but idk it's not what I have in mind and I think I'm just going to resort to do clay modelling myself. I'll probably do a separate post for the process!

Btw I'll do a free giveaway in the future to re-home my old sculptures so stay tuned for that!

What I have in mind

Sooo I'm not sure of the exact height and width of the things that I have coming in, and I'm still looking for a strong art piece or relief to go at the center back so I'm not sure if my disgusting mouse-drawn photoshop sketch is going to be accurate at all lol

The more I stare at it the more I think it makes no sense 🙃

So basically, from left to right; Apollo (new statue incoming); Artemis (old statue at the moment but need to upgrade); Hekate in the center (need to craft that); Dionysos (new bust incoming); Hermes (new bust incoming); and on the lower lever Demeter (still love the statue as I think it's my best one so it will stay this way).

Still missing:

one or two candles i use during worship, preferably gold

art piece in the center, either a plaster relief or canva print of something

plant with long falling ''arms'' (idk the word in english)

dried branches to go in the left vase

a way to fix the antlers to the wall

an old key for hekate (need to go to a thrift store)

maybeee a bigger box to store my incense and ritualistic plates and glasses

I don't think I want a table cloth simply because I had one in the past and it was always a mess to clean. Having the bare table is much easier, especially considering that I will burn incense and candles and that gets messy.
