I had to put in a lot of time and work for this piece but I was set on this concept.  Just like how I created various posthuman species for my Centauri universe, I wanted to create a bunch of variants of for another major group in said universe, the Uplifted (hybrid animals with human level sapience).  If humans need to modify/evolve to survive in different planets, it would make sense that the uplifted would need to do so as well in some cases.  What I have are the cases where I imagine the most notable changes would occur.
The top row are the uplifted modified for high gravity environments.  The Avian Parogions would have stronger bone structures and walk on their wings for additional support but wouldn't be too impacted by high gravity due to their lighter mass.  Ironically, the higher air pressure on high gravity worlds would make flight easier for them.  The mammoth-like Behemoths would have a more challenging time in high gravity.  They counteract this by using their tusks and trunks as additional support that functions like a sled while their more flexible feet shuffles across the ground eliminating the need to lift their legs.  The Dolphopods normally wouldn't be effected by gravity as they are normally in water and use technology to move on land.  For high gravity worlds, locomotive technology is more problematic so the Dolphopods would be modified to have more flattened bodies that move across land similar to slugs and mudskippers.  The Great Apes would be quadrapedic like Hi-G humans would which makes them resemble their less sapient ancestors.
The second row are low gravity inhabitants (with the exception of the Dolphopod).  Low gravity Behemoths have a lighter build that makes them more resemble camels and large antelopes.  Though adapted for lower gravity, they can tolerate earth gravity due to retaining sufficient bone and muscle density.  Low gravity Parogions are largely similar to their base counterparts save for longer legs and proportionately larger wings to fly in thinner air pressure.  Great apes in low gravity, like the Behemoths, possess a lighter build making them resemble gibbons from Earth with similar acrobatic agility.  The Dolphopod depicted in the second row isn't modified for low gravity as there wouldn't be a need for it.  Instead it's designed for fully terrestrial environments such as desert worlds, becoming a tripod with it's modified flippers and tail.
The third row are aquatic variants of which the dolphopods are excluded as they're naturally marine.  All of them possess both gills and lungs as well as retain the ability to move on land for adaptive flexibility.  The aquatic behemoth's physiology resemble an extinct order of marine mammals called the Desmostylia, while the aquatic Parogions resemble penguins and the aquatic Great Apes are more frog-like.
The last row are the super soldier variants of the uplifted, part of a group I call the Irradiated.  Each member of the Irradiated is genetically and cybernetically modified to be at their peak physiology and able to withstand extreme environments including hi-radiation (hence the name).  I have each of them partially armored to showcase some of their distinct physical features and are to scale with all the other uplifted (the irradiated Behemoth stands at 5.2m or 17.1ft at the shoulder).
Some of these designs may evolve over time and I might include more if I can think of any unique designs with a good reason for them.
As always, comments and critiques are welcome.

Got an amazing pic of my favorite Spore creation, the Ramechi, from @afallenwolf. I love my dolphin/raptor/bugs so much! Species details after the break
They're a semi-aquatic, air breathing species that live primarily in the tropics of their planet. Their diet is primarily piscivorous, sashimi is a big part of their culture. Their bite force is on par with an alligator's. Their 6 eyes let them have binocular vision in nearly every direction. One pair of eyes is located in each half of the jaw, while the third is farther back and anchored in the main part of the skull. The crystal on the end of their tail is bioluminescent, and they use patterns of flashes as part of their language. Underwater, they almost exclusively communicate via light patterns. At slower speeds, they use their 6 webbed legs to swim with high maneuverability. But, if they need a burst of speed, they put that powerful tail fluke to use. Each limb has 3 powerful claws, easily capable of holding on to wet rock surfaces even when being battered by waves. Their striped hide gives them camouflage in long grass as well as sandy shoals. In addition, they possess a limited form of color changing, which they use to ambush prey or escape from megafaunal predators. On land their theropod-like stance gives them incredible speed and jumping capability. They are also capable of putting on bursts of speed to chase down prey.
They started out as merely pack hunters, much like orcas, developing languages of both vocalizations and patterns of flashes from their tails. Eventually they started to figure out how to create fish farms, and agricuture was born. With a reliable food source, they were able to settle in one place and develop tools, music, a base 12 counting system (since they have a total of 12 digits on their hands), and other technologies. They never colonized very far inland, always having a large body of water nearby to farm their food. A total of 4 other species reached a tribal level of technology on their planet, being content to stay to their own preferred biomes of plains, forests, mountains, and even one desert-dwelling species.
As Ramechi society and technology evolved farther past their neighbors, soon many different ideals came to the forefront. Some civilizations wanted to conquer the other through war, some wanted to convert them through religion. But, the one that would eventually unite the world was an economic powerhouse that outlasted all competition by focusing on long-term sustainability rather than short-term profits.
As the Ramechi took to the stars they dubbed themselves Knights, defenders of truth and justice wherever they roam.

Has there been a case of a hybrid between a bottlenose and an Atlantic spotted dolphin?
Perhaps! No one knows for sure. There has been no definitive proof from DNA samples of wild animals, nor has it ever been confirmed in captive animals. However, there is much reason to believe it is plausible, and one possible hybrid has been observed.
Tumblr media
Let me take you to The Bahamas. Specifically, Great Bahama Bank and Little Bahama Bank. They're sprawling sandbanks surrounding the islands, and many Atlantic spotted dolphins as well as coastal Common bottlenose dolphins make their home there. The spotted dolphins have been studied for more than 30 years by Denise Herzing and her associates. While by far the most encounters are with single-species groups, there have been dozens of mixed species encounters as well.
Many of these are aggressively sexual in nature, with males of both species sparring and trying to enter each other. Male bottlenose dolphins often seem to dominate the smaller spotted dolphins during these encounters, though the spotted dolphins have been seen retaliating, and it is speculated they don't actually experience the harassment as very negative. Since much of the action is male-on-male or involves juvenile animals not yet sexually mature, it seems in many cases the nature of these encounters is more social than sexual. However, multiple cases of interspecific male-on-female copulation have been observed.
With so much going on, the potential for hybridism is great. And since the two species are morphologically quite similar (especially when young), a hybrid could easily fly under the radar.
Tumblr media
In February of 2003, Herzing and her team observed a female spotted dolphin with an unusual looking calf. The calf had a shorter rostrum than is normal for spotted dolphins in the area, but it was longer and more elegant than that of a Bahamian bottlenose. Herzing assumed it could be a hybrid calf. However, since no DNA testing was done and the calf was only observed for two days, this can't be confirmed. In 1989 and 1996 there have also been observations of female spotted dolphins mothering over bottlenose dolphin calves. In one case the calf was emaciated, and the spotted dolphin swimming with it wasn't lactating, so most likely the calf died. In another case it was only a temporary association and the bottlenose calf returned to their real mother after a while.
So a lot of interesting things going on. The studies are still ongoing. To my knowledge no large scale DNA testing has been done, nor any new "suspect" animals observed. Perhaps in the future a hybrid will be confirmed! Or perhaps it turns out this is one of those mixes that just doesn't work.
I highly recommend you read the study the photo comes from: "Interspecies interactions between Atlantic spotted dolphins, Stenella frontalis and bottlenose dolphins, Tursiops truncatus, on Great Bahama Bank, Bahamas". And many of the other studies done by Denise Herzing's team can be read for free here: https://www.wilddolphinproject.org/media/scientific-publications/

Gael
The Amazon River Dolphin Hybrid
Tumblr media
•Is the ‘good twin’
•He’s always the one you pick for dolphin hybrid shows because he’s so well behaved. He never splashes or pulls you into the water when you’re trying to stay dry, he’s not a trouble maker like his brother.
•Other zoos and institutions always talk about him. How they’ve never seen such a well behaved dolphin hybrid. They praise your training methods and ask how you got him to trust you so completely. Gael eats it up every time.
•Not because of the praise for him because it could never compare to yours, but because of how it affects you. How happy you look when you gets to gush over your methods and how flustered you become from the barrage of compliments.
I•t only drives him to be better. To train harder and to become even smarter, even more personable. He knows you’ll be proud of him no matter what but he wants you to feel the way you make him feel. He wants you to feel like you’re the world because to him you are.
•He’s so perceptive and equally as obsessive. He can tell how you feel from a single glance so there’s no use trying to hide it or convince him otherwise.
•Gael is a complete 180 when you’re not around. He goes from puppy to hellhound. You’re not there with him and he intends to make it everyone’s problem.
•He’s always taunting and teasing the other hybrids behind your back. Pointing out insecurities and weaknesses they didn’t even know they had. Has this shit eating grin every single time and eyes that glint like a knife.
•He works so hard to be perfect for you. To squash any and every flaw. He trains for hours everyday by himself, he stares in the mirror and practices the perfect smile and most interesting conversation topics for you.
•He loves his brother but he would slit his throat in a second if he needed too. The second Luan stops making you laugh and goes from a playful nuisance to a problem, he’s finished.

no one is into animal hybrids well that's okay because i will make you into animal hybrids. i just find it interesting and cool and like if unicorns were real sometimes it's like Wow... but also u can be on some level aware of the ethicality i guess bc some ppl crossbreed animals for i dunno taking advantage or entertainment purposes or just like arrogance and stupidity BUT sometimes it's just like the scientific spirit i suppose i don't know. and there's a difference between like hybrids with fertile young vs infertile but just because the hybrid offspring is infertile doesn't always mean it's unhealthy or i suppose immoral ? its just to do with chromosomes n junk it's all complicated ... and i just like them and like seeing what they look like i used to be the kid who believed in that cat/rabbit hybrid hoax though which doesn't help
but it does just happen in the wild a bunch bc a coyote just thinks it found the worlds biggest coyote girlfriend but really his girlfriend is a wolf. which is so funny to me. I love them so much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and then u have something like a buffalo and a cow which r fertile . and a false killer whale and bottlenose dolphin
Tumblr media
all members of the ursidae family can healthily produce offspring which rules but i think this second picture might just be a normal grizzly bear. but the first is a polar grizzly <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then there's savannah cats and bengal cats which i think everyone knows about but make me so mad to be honest every time i see a serval in someone's house i wish they dropped dead it is HIGHLY unethical and just stupid even if i do sort of get wanting to have your own mini tiger it's just STUPID and rich people bullshit and 9/10 times when they can't look after the wild animal in their home it ends up being dumped + very rarely are they being taken care of + it is abusive by nature to simply own any wild animal even if you're a fucking trained animal handler or whatever which also goes for idiots who keep sugar gliders or like raccoons + letting it interact with domestic pets is WILD. and most of them end up as rescues in sanctuaries like with every other exotic pet and actually there's entire debates on whether it's ethical to even have sanctuaries where the keeper directly interacts with the animal and "no touch" facilities i believe r more ethical and the best option for the animal.. basically if u see a dumbass tiktok where someone is petting a panther taking advantage of the spectacle it creates call them a cunt in the comments okay
anyway. these domestic wild hybrids DO have health problems though it is interesting that the savannah cat female offspring is fertile to begin with... it's similar to wolfdogs in the levels of wild vs domestic being ranked 1 to .. 4 ? i think (but wolfdogs i don't actually know much about... they r more common tho) so like an f1 savannah cat is basically just a smaller serval which are HUGE wild cats to begin with and then it goes on in generations until it is essentially a house cat . so dismissing everything i just said it is interesting to see
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
then with other big cats all members of the panthera genus can interbreed but all produce infertile male offspring and would never occur naturally in the wild. the females are fertile though which is also interesting i think... they also like most hybrids have different characteristics dependent on the parent species and sex so a male tiger and female lion (tigon) would create something different than a female tiger and a male lion (liger). which is also cool hashtag genetics. these are a female and male liger

So, I was searching some brazilian animals and started to think about Pac as a Boto Cor de Rosa (pink dolphin ?) mostly bc of folklore
There is a legend about a Boto Cor de Rosa becoming human to attract women and get them pregnant, like a siren, and I like the headcanon about Pac flirt with Etoiles and act like a noob just to get cool things for free
Other thing maybe arara azul for him, mostly bc blue
Felps as a Capybara, maybe, just bc hes kinda chill and funny
Cellbit as an onça pintada (jaguar) mostly bc always when he sees one, he say "alisa meu pelo", a brazilian meme with this animal
But I don't have any ideas for Mike
OMG... FISHY. i think i would assign mike capybara bc i have something else in mind for felps now
