Chapter 01.
"Your father is scum."
"I'm sick of this situation."
"Life is shit, we share the same silliness and shit here. Cheer up girl."
"How the hell can I cheer up?!." You snorted, rolled your eyes away from your two friends who were sitting across from you on the couches, trying to hold back your laments that threatened to fall on your face.
"Yo babe, are you okay?" The other, with light brown hair, demanded as she leaned forward to place her hand on the thigh of the girl who turned her face to the side, pressing her lips into a thin line.
"Y/N... what's wrong with you?." The girl with the dark brown short hair stopped sipping the liquid from her glass cup with furrowed eyebrows.
"My dad brings his bitches day and night he throws them at me and I have to serve his shit all day, he doesn't even give me my money to buy what I want!" You spat angrily.
"Things got worse." You muttered in a shaky voice, letting your tears run down your cheeks, wrinkling your eyebrows.
The white-haired man pulled the glass door back, and his four colleagues came in behind him. To his right walks a man with a huge muscular build, his azure eyes scanning the place.
Sukuna pulled back his pink hair with his tattooed hand, and raised his red eyes to the ceiling to see the multi-colored chandeliers changing every second, comfortable leather larks and boxes of fine alcohol spread out on the huge table in the suite they had booked. place considered him.
They were advancing, but what stopped them was a soft weeping voice with intermittent gasps of a girl, while the two of them quietly muttered to her perfectly fine.
"There is no other solution than this, y/n I know it's hard for you but-"
"What's wrong with your mother's family, your grandmother, who doesn't want you anymore?" They heard another girl's voice, followed by a sniff and another shaky gasp.
"They don't want me! My grandmother only takes care of her filthy pocket, it should be filled with money for life, she told me I'm dependent on her and she can't stand me being in the house, I'm not a grown woman just because I don't cook or serve them all day!.
I can't believe my mother's death ruined my life! Only to this degree because my mother's salary is over, everyone drops his masks, it turns out that all that love is only for my mother's money, sons of a bitch." With a soft voice spitting in anger and pain at the same time, satoru stepped forward to see the three girls' suite next to them.
He uninterestedly moved forward to take his seat on the sofa and leaned back, crossing his muscular arms in front of his broad chest, listening carefully, wondering why he cared about the misery and problems of others, but the voice that attracted him to listen was curious.
He saw a group of his companions spread out on the sofas that formed a circle separated by a large glass table in the middle.
He waved his hand to suguru adjacent suite and the girls' voice, huh? He seems interested, too.
"I don't know now what to do, even part-time jobs are not enough for my expenses." You sigh, raise your hand to carefully wipe your tears from your face.
"There is only one solution and it will bring you money simply and as much as you want." The brown-haired woman stammered, placing her glass on the table and pulling a cigarette from the middle tray of the table in front of you three.
"That's why I'm gay guys! Men are the worst creatures in existence." Lily added after sighing with a laugh.
"Guys, shit, girly would only get pain if she did that." The other beside her muttered, letting out a sigh.
You were playing with your fingers in your lap and staring, your mind was clouded with thoughts, today is your last day in a house because you got kicked out and no one wants you to stay in their house.
"Doll, you look beautiful when you cry." Lily added while pricking your nose with her forefinger, trying to ease your sadness.
"Lily ,Jia, I don't know what to do." You felt your eyes getting wet again, covering your face with your palms, your body feeling cold and numb from crying for days.
The two frowned, trying to calm you from crying for the third time in this place.
"Stop complaining y/n, don't be a crybaby." Jia sighed as her cigarette smoked out of her mouth and stared at the ceiling.
"I'm not a crybaby! Damn it, I'm in great misery and you're here making fun of me?,Where am I going tomorrow?,I got kicked out!." You exploded, taking your hands off your face, staring at her with a reddish face from crying, puffy red lips, a pink nose, puffy eyelids, a wet face with rosy cheeks.
"Hear my words, so that you don't need any of them." She moved her index finger towards you.
"I heard." you talked.
"Work with me." she said.
"what?." You blinked without understanding, you knew, but you refused to reach that idea.
You saw her sigh, put out the ashes of the cigarette on the table and lean back.
"Work with me, sell your body in a night club, or choose a man to sleep with for money, I know you are still young but there is no solution." She said with a blank face, what expressions do you see your eyes turning wide in shock.
"Jia are you crazy!? y/n is still a virgin and a fucking minor!." The other one sitting next to her rocked, staring at her in disbelief.
"I know she's a virgin! Being a virgin will bring her good luck and great fortune!." The other added trying to get you to accept the idea.
"The hell, I wouldn't sell my body for money! Where the hell is my dignity?!." You exploded tightening your jaw.
"Don't talk to me about dignity, do you think we are happy with our situation? We sell our bodies for money and to live! Nobody cares about Y/N!No one! Before you trample on everything or let life trample on you harshly and kill you!."
The other screamed, you flinched your head down, your lips trembled, your tears streamed down your face again, you don't know how sensitive you've been this while if someone wanted to make you cry a thousand times a day you would undoubtedly do.
"The hell you made her cry again, look what you did!" Lily hissed as she let go of her knot and hug her half-exposed chest while stroking your head with one hand, her other hand gently thinking your back.
"I want her to live! I know men are disgusting and scoundrels, but she must live. That old woman will not hesitate to throw her into a forced marriage with any idiot she sees to get rid of her!." The other added while crossing her arms angrily.
"Hey babes ,don't cry, Jia loves you and wants to give you the right solution." Lily spoke while gently patting your head.
"I think I have a good idea, for you y/n, or a good man will Please you very good."

My commandant OCs (noteworthy) relationship dynamics with PGR characters bc I’m bored
I’m actually just procrastinating, I’m not bored. Also his name is Qiu Jia but I think you know that if you follow me. I talk abt him too much.
Lucia - Sister Qiu is just chill with her like that. Like they can just be around each other and even thought it’s silent it’s not awkward. They just make each other feel at ease. Not much to say, but it’s like they can read each other’s minds. Well I guess they kinda can with the mind link? Yeah, overall they’re just comforting prescience’s to each other.
Liv - Little sister who can do no wrong Qiu is a bit protective of Liv, just because he knows how kind and timid people like her are sometimes mistreated. Especially after Survival Luceum, they’re glued at the hip. Liv also trusts him a lot, she’s his impulse control, while Qiu helps her to assert herself more. Liv is also very particular about his health, and she’s trying to help him with his nicotine addiction.
Lee - Annoying younger brother Yes they fight about who is older because “technically Lee has been alive longer but is stuck at eighteen” but Qiu will not hear any of it and he thinks of himself as the older brother. They absolutely will not stop insulting each other (while covering Liv’s ears ofc) and constantly take jabs at each other but issok it’s all in the name of love. Qiu takes the brunt of Lee’s insults because he finds it funny and usually just laughs them off. Lee regularly calls him a slut/whore though and it irks Qiu depending on his mood that day but he makes no point to stop it bc it is funny sometimes.
Nikola - Oh boy it’s complicated Nikola is Qiu’s dad but not really. Yes he never intended to hurt Qiu the way he did but Qiu still ended up as… Qiu so it is what it is. Would never admit it, but Qiu so desperately wants to call Nikola his father, he’s just hesitant due to everything Nikola has done. Likewise, Nikola would like to be able to call Qiu his son, and he’s always wanted the best for him but unfortunately he never asked Qiu what he wanted. Qiu stopped talking to him after he joined Kurono and they only made up around the time of Survival Luceum, but even then their relationship is still complicated.
Hassen - Cool uncle I have literally never seen Hassen and Nikola apart in the main story?? Are they Iike partners or smth they seem to know each other pretty well. Anyways that being said Qiu was around Hassen quite a bit growing up, and of course Hassen is super chill and good with kids so he doesn’t mind seeing his partner’s kids every once in a while. Watches Nikola and Qiu’s relationship fall apart from the outside and is quite concerned about it. But overall, Hassen calls Qiu “kid” and is very casual with him when he’s not on missions.
Roland - it’s complicated romance edition Yes Qiu and Roland have tried to kill each other numerous times but neither of them really care??? Qiu still thinks Roland is pretty hot and they have some cute enemies to lovers tension. Roland is kind of flirty with him, because that riles Qiu up when they fight. They’re both super fucked up and are aware of it but it is what it is and they violently want to fuck. They’re actually kin of obnoxious together I’m not gonna lie, if they were an actual couple they would be so annoying, constantly touching and flirting with each other. They give Lee the ick. I would go deeper into their complicated relationship and feelings towards each other but that deserves it’s own post they are both so *squeezes them*
Wanshi - Nap buddies Qiu is also perpetually sleepy and often sleeps to avoid his problems (just like me) so it stands that they’re buddies. Thing is, Qiu’s sleep schedule is so fucked up that he gets like three hours of sleep and random naps throughout the day. Wanshi who is you know, also a doctor finds this mildly concerning but helps him take it one step at a time by at least helping him nap properly. They’re both pretty chill with like touching and lying on each other so it’s not uncommon to find them both sleeping in a literal pile on Strike Hawk’s couch or something.
Camu - “You’re not my commandant” Camu gets Qiu’s bad vibes in spades they fucking hate each other. Camu resents Qiu for “replacing” Ash (former commandant of GR) who helped Camu a lot. Likewise, Qiu doesn’t like him because he’s not exactly subtle about it. Also, given Qiu’s back ground in Kurono Camu hates him even more. Camu just brings back up Qiu’s inferiority complex and feelings of being an inadequate replacement and it makes them avoid each other a lot. Honestly, they’re both kinda volatile so they get under each other’s skin.
Anyways that’s that I’m melting in this heat and I will be thinking of my silly little train wreck of a SKK OC *evaporates*

A Witch Life | Chapter 15
Tumblr media
Warnings: Mild sexual innuendos...
~
Forks, Washington was a welcoming sight as the first day of the New Year arrived.
Y/N held Emrys on her hip as she spoke with Veda, finally at ease as they were aligned once again. "Again, I'm sorry," Veda tried as she put a hand on her shoulder. "Moving against you was something I never wanted to do. If you ever need my help for any reason, I will come rushing to your side. You are my friend, and I want to remain that way."
Y/N laughed as she shook her head, taking her hand. "Veda, I understand. You were trying to protect your own, you don't have to apologize again. Go home, I'm sure your people are dying to see you." Veda gave a warm smile as she pulled the witch in for a hug. She walked away with Varian at her side, calling her coven as she opened the portal to the train station, which had finally been reopened. She waved to Y/N as she left with her coven following.
Y/N turned as she saw Jasper talking with Peter and Charlotte before seeing them off. As he spoke, his eyes found his wife's, who smiled at him and rocked her son. His smile spread before he turned back to his friends as they walked off. He waved at them while they left, watching them go for a moment.
Y/N's attention was pulled over when Alaric and Mary-Ann stepped in front of her. "Hello, my friend," he greeted happily, his arm around Mary-Ann's waist. He pulled her closer and she rolled her eyes.
"Hi," Y/N greeted, laughing lightly. "I had no idea you were together."
Mary-Ann sighed as she shrugged a shoulder, "It's new. He's been flirting with me for years through owl messages and conferences that were literally held just to give him a chance to see me. He's persistent."
Alaric laughed, his face leaning over to her as she spoke, "It worked, didn't it?" His lips pressed to the side of her forehead and she playfully shoved him away. Y/N laughed, her smile growing as an arm snaked around her own waist.
"Aren't women fantastic?" Jasper muttered with a chuckle.
"They are," Alaric agreed.
Mary-Ann rolled her eyes again. "Speaking of which..." she turned her gaze to Eileen and Mariah, who were sitting on a swing with Althea in between them as they laughed about something. "You've got some good ones there. Take care of 'em."
Y/N nodded, "I will."
"Anyway," Alaric sighed. "We must be going. We have to check up on our covens and see about a closer partnership." He chuckled at the end as he bumped Mary-Ann's hip. She shook her head and grabbed him by his shirt before walking away, waving as they went before signaling to their covens for them to get going. Alaric followed, bent over with no problem with how she dragged him away. The lovesick grin on his face was stuck as he lazily waved at Jasper and Y/N.
They chuckled and Jasper shook his head, "He's so smitten." Y/N agreed and they went to go talk to some of the other leaders before they went. Zyana and Zion (who was back to his regular size) said their goodbyes and promised to visit again soon, expecting to see them as well in the near future for a proper visit. Acacius and Jia said the same, leaving with their coven and familiars to the train station.
Romina left a little while longer after that with her coven to New Orleans. Charlie, Seth, Leah, Levi, Eileen, and Mariah joined them for a small vacation away from Forks that was not dependent on their survival for once. They definitely earned it, after all.
Emrys and Althea went with Carlisle and Esme as everyone continued their farewells and goodbyes. Jasper and Y/N disappeared somewhere in the woods, away from the crowds of leaving vampires and witches.
They ventured up a large tree, crawling to the top where they found a cozy spot to look over the tree line. Y/N leaned into his side, sighing deeply as she pressed her back to his chest. His arms wrapped around her and pulled her close as they sat there in comfortable silence for a little while. The silence was broken only when she opened her mouth, a smirk on her lips, "You know...today's a special witch holiday, too."
He looked down at her, "Oh, yeah? What holiday?"
She turned her eyes on him, biting her lip a little, "It's the annual Screw Your Vampire Husband Because You Almost Died Day."
He laughed, the sound reverberating in his chest as he threw his head back. "Is that so?" She nodded proudly and he brought his lips next to her ear, "Well, I look forward to thoroughly celebrating it with you." He pressed his lips to the side of her head as he pulled her closer still.
More silence settled as they enjoyed the peace of nature being calm once again. She closed her eyes, a hand reaching to card through his hair as his arms tightened around her midsection. His own eyes fell closed as he enjoyed the feeling of her playing with his hair.
"Jasper," she muttered. He hummed, his eyes still shut while he pressed his face into her neck. She smiled, "We should expand."
He opened his eyes then, brows knitting together, "Expand?"
Y/N nodded, her fingers still working through his golden locks. "We should add even more witches and warlocks to our coven until we have a huge one that's even bigger than Romina's."
He chuckled as he asked, "Why?"
She opened her eyes and looked at him with a sly grin, "So we can ditch them and hand them over to Eileen and Mariah like Romina did to me."
He laughed again and shook his head, "Alright, Romina gave you three witches to start with, Y/N."
She shrugged, "I know but...go big or go home. Besides, that way we could retreat into the woods in our little big cottage with Althea, who'll already be begging to move out because she's tired of us and our...insanely high libido—and Emrys, who will be living in the basement because he refuses to move out. We'll have Freya and then we'll obviously have some horses, and we'll have ferrets running all over the house."
He scoffed, "Obviously."
"We'll have a garden with too many different plants, and we'll hold get-togethers at our house at least once every month. The family will visit all the time, even if we lived across the country from them. It'll be great."
He pressed his cheek to the side of her head as he listened. "It seems like you've thought about this a lot."
She sighed, "It's a happy place of mine...right under where we are now with our friends and family, as happy as we can be." She looked at him again and he could have sworn he saw purple flecks in her eyes as she recounted her fantasy.
Jasper smiled at his little witch and nodded, "We'll do whatever you want, go wherever you want. It'll be one of your crazy witch things-a witch life. As long as you're happy, I'm happy." She smiled at him and turned her head so she could pull him down into a kiss. Her fingers tangled in his hair as she kissed him, happy to be in that moment with her husband.
"I love you," she whispered against his lips.
He nodded and kissed her again, "I love you, too, darlin'."
She sighed and licked her bottom lip, "Right now, what would make me happy is a king sized bed and you naked."
Another laugh. "Since when do vampire's need beds?"

trying to induce labor
masterlist | 1k prompt masterlist | pregnancy series
pairings: diluc, kaeya, childe and zhongli x female!reader (separate)
warnings: pregnancy (so close to baby)
Tumblr media
diluc
As the days drew closer, you were getting more and more anxious to get the twins out of you. Not only was your belly huge with both babies, it was causing you a lot of pain. Fed up from another sleepless night of twisting and turning, you put your sneakers on first thing in the morning and waddled to the front door.
“Where are you off to?” Diluc asked, raising his eyes from the paperwork he was completing at the dining room table.
“Your children have overstayed their welcome.” You grabbed a jacket and slipped it over your arms, letting the front hang open since you were too big to zipper it. “I’m going to do laps around The Winery.”
Diluc was by your side now, “Is that safe?”
“Walking in the most effective way to induce labor,” You told him, “But if you’re worried, you can join me.”
Your husband slipped his own sneakers on instantly.
Diluc held your hand as you walked the property line of The Winery. Your feet began aching right away but you pushed through, needing to at least try this method of inducing labor. The thought about meeting your babies finally gave you a rush of adrenaline and you walked for thirty minutes before your body began showing restraint.
When you stopped to lean against a nearby tree, Diluc was in front of you with a concerned look on your face. You rubbed your belly and tried to catch your breath, feeling sweat drip down your forehead.
“Is it happening?” He asked, a hint of excitement rubbing off on his tone.
You shook your head, “I just need a break.”
Diluc held back the frown trying to creep on his face. Like you, he just wanted to meet the twins as well. “Can you make it back to the house?”
You glanced up to look at the house. It wasn’t too far, just past the vineyard, but your throbbing back was a good enough reminder for you to take it easy. “I’m afraid I’m going to fall,” You admitted sheepishly, “Maybe we should just stay here for a while.”
“Nonsense,” Diluc said. Before you could recognize what was going on, Diluc had lifted you off your feet and was carrying you bridal style. Upon seeing your bewildered expression at lifting both you and your babies, Diluc continued. “I’ve been working out for a reason.”
kaeya
Kaeya couldn’t cook. He tried, he really did, but time after time dinner ended with take out. So when you suggested trying spicy foods to help induce labor, Kaeya knew this would be a job for someone else.
You watched intently as Noelle leaned over the stove in your kitchen. The smell of spices and flavorful armonas filled your house and your stomach rumbled everytime a waft came near you. Her eyes glanced between the open cookbook beside her and the boiling pot of something on a burner.
“Sit, sit,” Noelle instructed poliety, “Dinner’s almost ready.” You made Kaeya set the table as you and your husband sat down. Noelle finished up in the kitchen before she brought over a serving bowl and placed it in the middle of the table.
“What is it?” Kaeya asked. He peered over the bowl and, like yours, his stomach growled in anticipation. “It smells great.”
“It's a spicy stew but I added some extra Jieyun Chili peppers. Barbara gave me the recipe.” Noelle smiled sweetly and poured some of the stew in Kaeya and yours’ bowls before serving herself. When Kaeya opted out in cooking your spicy dish, he immediately ran to Noelle who had no problem serving you dinner.
Kaeya thanked Noelle before digging into his meal. You hesitantly watched Kaeya, knowing how he couldn’t handle spicy food, and almost burst out laughing when he almost spit the stew back into his bowl.
His tongue hung out of his mouth, “I think that could kill someone.”
Noelle giggled at his comment and tasted the stew herself, beaming at the taste. Unlike your husband, she didn’t seem to have an issue with the heat level. Kaeya shook his head at you in disbelief.
“Now I’m nervous,” You said, half jokingly and half serious. You poked your fork into a piece of beef and placed the food in your mouth. Instantly, your mouth lit up in a fire. You held back a cough as you chewed the food. Kaeya stared at you in disbelief, watching your eyes water from the spices.
Kaeya rubbed your bicep as you grabbed another forkful of the stew. “If this doesn’t work, I don’t know what will,” You said, “There’s no way I’m going to have taste buds after this.”
childe
When Childe comes home one day, he doesn’t see you resting on the couch like usual. He follows the light down the hall and finds you in the middle of the floor in the bedroom, your body stretched in a weird position.
One of your arms was standing high in the air and the other was low to the ground, causing the top half of your body to be vertical. You were taking mediated breaths and counting slowly before you switched sides.
“What are you doing?”
Without opening your eyes, you responded to your boyfriend. “I’m doing yoga,” You said flatly, “It’s time for Nikolai to come out.”
“Oh,” Childe takes a seat on the edge of the bed. “Is he?”
“He won’t move an inch.”
Childe smiles to himself. Any day now your son would be arriving and he could feel the excitement radiating off your body. He was three days overdue, preferring to stay in the comfort of your womb, but you were ready for him.
“I’m surprised,” Childe continues, “I thought you wanted to wait for him to come on his own.”
You stood up straight and opened your eyes slowly, placing your hands on your back to try and crane out any kinks with your knuckles. “I was,” You started, “But I changed my mind. I want to hold him so badly.”
Your boyfriend smiles again, this time at you. He agrees with you but decides not to say anything, knowing inducing labor was your decision and your decision only. Childe stands up and comes near you, “Let me help.”
With the help of your boyfriend, you get on the ground and prop a knee up. Childe holds your hips as you shakily lift the other leg into the air and extend it straight. He reminds you he has a solid hold on you so you lift your opposite arm, replicating the action.
“This is hard,” You complain, wanting to put your leg down already.
“You got this,” Childe grins, “Do it for Nikolai.”
zhongli
“Archons, it’s cold out.”
“Perfect.”
Zhongli’s eyes watched you intently as you stood at the edge of the dock at Liyue Harbor. You were bundled in several layers and your hands rested on your large baby bump. There were even some premature snowflakes floating down from the sky and resting on your nose.
You never thought you would be someone to induce labor but when a week had passed past your due date, you knew you should at least try. You tried the common methods first (eating spicy foods, walking, doing yoga, etc.) and when none of them worked, you and Zhongli decided to look up some old wivestales in books. The easiest one to try was extreme cold, since it was already January.
“Can you feel anything?” Your husband asked, readjusting the hat over your ears for the tenth time that hour.
You shook your head, “Not really.”
Zhongli caught a snowflake on his finger and rubbed it off on your cheek. You giggled and leaned into his warm side. When you spoke, your breath turned into visible puffs of air. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were the Cryo Archon.”
“Oh, hush,” You playfully said, rolling your eyes. “Do you want to meet Jia or not?”
He reached forward to take one of your hands in his. He squeezed your fingers, instantly warming them up, “Of course I do. I just don’t want us to freeze before we can.”
a/n: sorry zhongli got the short end of the stick again </3

Chinese Drama Villains
Villains are just as essential to a story as a hero. If you have a weak villain that has no personality beyond evil, and no reasoning behind their actions besides “because they’re evil”, then no matter how good your hero is, the story still won’t be compelling.
Today, I will compare 7 different villains from four different kinds of dramas - wuxia, xianxia, harem and revolutionary era. The eight villains can also be grouped into three different categories based on why they do what they do - for love, for power, and a struggle internally.
Tumblr media
The eight villains I will be analyzing are as follows:
Sui He (穗禾) played by Wang Yifei (王一菲) from Ashes of Love (香蜜沉沉烬如霜) - Xianxia
Xian Fei (娴妃) played by She Shiman (佘诗曼) from The Story of Yanxi Palace (延禧攻略) - Harem
An Lingrong (安陵容) played by Tao Xinran (陶昕然) from Empresses in the Palace (甄嬛传) - Harem
Hua Fei (华妃) played by Jiang Xin (蒋欣) from Empresses in the Palace (甄嬛传) - Harem
Yang Kang (杨康) played by so many different people but from the most recent one its Chen Xingxu (陈星旭) from The Legend of the Condor Heroes (射雕英雄传) - Wuxia
Zhou Zhiruo (周芷若) played by so many different people but from the most recent one its Zhu Xudan (祝绪丹) from Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre (倚天屠龙记) - Wuxia
Feng Manna (冯曼娜) played by Tao Xinran (陶昕然) from Rookie Agent Rouge (胭脂) - Revolutionary Era
They can be grouped into the three categories I mentioned before in this order:
For Love - Sui He, Hua Fei, Zhou Zhiruo (kind of)
For Power - Xian Fei, An Lingrong
Internal Struggle - Yang Kang, Zhou Zhiruo (kind of), Feng Manna
Let’s analyze each category separately. Also sorry Yang Kang is the only guy villain here, but lets be real, in recent dramas haven’t the villains always been ladies?
For Love
This group is the easiest to determine what their motivation is: love. For all three, they are the second female leads (arguably) and cannot get the leading man because he obviously belongs to the female lead.
Tumblr media
Sui He (穗禾) played by Wang Yifei (王一菲) - Ashes of Love (香蜜沉沉烬如霜)
For Sui He, love is one of two factors that causes her to do the things she does. The other factor is because she wants to please the Heavenly Empress to keep her position as the leader of the Bird Tribe. But evidently, it seems that love is her primary motive, as the scene in which she completely breaks down is when Xu Feng (male lead) reveals he never loved Sui He and only wanted to see if she really killed Jin Mi (female lead)’s parents. When she looses leadership of the Bird Tribe, yeah, she’s sad, but not as sad as the aforementioned scene.
Tumblr media
Hua Fei/Nian Shilan (华妃/年世兰) played by Jiang Xin (蒋欣) - Empresses in the Palace (甄嬛传) - the one in hot pink
Hua Fei’s motive is just love. She already has power within the harem (she’s tied with the Empress), and her family is super important and powerful as well. The only thing she wants is the Emperor (male lead)’s love. When the emperor is more interested in the new concubines, Shen Meizhuang and Zhen Huan (female lead), Hua Fei is ready to destroy them. She gets Shen Meizhuang out of favor by tricking her into thinking she was pregnant, and while she tries, on many occasions, to get Zhen Huan out of favor as well, it seems her ideas don’t work.
Tumblr media
Zhu Xudan (祝绪丹) as Zhou Zhiruo (周芷若) in Heavenly Sword and Dragon-Slaying Sabre (倚天屠龙记)
Zhou Zhiruo could technically be in two categories here, but let’s just talk about how her love for Zhang Wuji (male lead) affects her decisions. After Zhang Wuji leaves her at the altar after Zhao Min (female lead) intrudes on their ceremony and offers to help Zhang Wuji find his godfather only if he leaves with her, Zhou Zhiruo sheds the mask of innocence that she wears. She uses her unorthodox Nine White Bone Claws to try to kill Zhao Min, and this isn’t her first attempt to kill Zhao Min. She tried once to stab her in the stomach while she was sleeping, but got caught by Yin Li, who she had to kill instead. She then tried to make Zhang Wuji kill Zhao Min by pretending that Zhao Min had killed Yin Li and stolen the swords. The reason for her attempted assassinations is she is jealous that Zhang Wuji likes Zhao Min (though some of her other evil actions are for a different reason).
So What Do These Three Have in Common?
Love leads these three female villains into killing at least one person. For Sui He, she kills the Water and Wind Immortal, for Hua Fei she succeeds in giving Zhen Huan a miscarriage, and for Zhou Zhiruo, she is forced to kill Yin Li to silence her. Love drives these three into a frenzy, and they are willing to do anything or kill anyone to get the love of their respective male leads.
Some Others in this Category:
Zhao Sese (赵瑟瑟) - Goodbye My Princess (东宫)
Su Jin (素锦) - Eternal Love (三生三世十里桃花)
Chun Fei (纯妃) - Story of Yanxi Palace (延禧攻略) - kind of an exception though since she loves the second male lead
For Power
This type of villain is seen commonly in harem dramas, and some heroines even have this as their motive (Zhen Huan, Wei Yingluo). Their basis for their horrible actions is primarily so they can gain power, usually so they can be above those who had previously stepped all over them.
Tumblr media
Xian Fei/Hui Fa Na La Shu Shen (娴妃/辉发那拉·淑慎) played by She Shiman (佘诗曼) - Story of Yanxi Palace (延禧攻略)
Xian Fei had once been a kind and unfavored concubine who didn't bother to play in court politics (but then again, in the beginning only Gao Guifei cared at all). But after her family’s fall from power (of which she cannot do anything for), she changes dramatically. She starts by killing Jia Pin, and making all sorts of ploys to bring Wei Yingluo’s downfall. While she doesn’t hate the emperor, her motives for getting higher in the court have nothing to do with him. Her ending, while not as bad as some of the other ones, is rather tragic, as she becomes an empress that is isolated and given no real power, similar to how she started out.
Tumblr media
An Lingrong (安陵容) played by Tao Xinran (陶昕然) - Empress in the Palace (甄嬛传)
Like Xian Fei, An Lingrong starts out weak, unfavored but still good-hearted. She is grateful for the friendship of her two friends, Zhen Huan and Shen Meizhuang, even though the emperor could care less about her. She actually starts out at the lowest title possible for a concubine and stays there for like eighteen episodes. As her power grows a little stronger, she begins to develop an inferiority complex, and she believes Zhen Huan is trying to sabotage her (even though she’s not). She ends up betraying her two good friends in the beginning and going to the empress to become her minion. Throughout this development, her title grows and grows as does her father’s importance in the court. As her power grows, her personality shifts from kind and innocent to jealous and eager to gain more power.
Some Others in this Category:
Hong Shiguang (洪世光) - My Amazing Boyfriend (我的奇妙男友)
So What Do These Two Have in Common?
They both start out weak and unfavored, though Xian Fei’s rank is considerably higher than An Lingrong’s. While An Lingrong doesn’t need a tragedy to get her power hungry quest started, she does require assistance at first from Zhen Huan. The two ladies both use subtle plots and schemes to bring down their competitors, and both kill somebody. Xian Fei straight up chokes Jia Pin (though not with her own hands of course) and An Lingrong causes Zhen Huan’s miscarriage by giving her an ointment whose scent causes miscarriages. Both rise considerably in power, and loose their old personalities, replacing them with a desire for power and revenge.
Internal Struggle
This is my favorite type of villain, and also the most complex. This group of characters have some sort of struggle internally, usually on whether to do what others say, or do what seems to be easiest. They are the most emotional of these villains because even though they seem to be tough and strong on the outside, inside they have no clue what to do.
Tumblr media
Yang Kang (杨康) played by Chen Xingxu (陈星旭) - Legend of the Condor Heroes (射雕英雄传)
Honestly, while watching the 2003 and 2017 versions and reading the novel, I felt really bad for Yang Kang, but he definitely does do things we as watchers cannot forgive. His struggle is between whether he should accept his fate as a normal Song peasant or continue being the Jurchen Prince he once was. His real father, Yang Tiexin was a Song peasant, as was his mom, Bao Xiruo. After Yang Tiexin was supposedly “killed”, Bao Xiruo married Wanyan Honglie, a Jurchen Prince, so Yang Kang could have a good life. When Yang Tiexin was revealed not to be dead, Bao Xiruo and Mu Nianci (Yang Kang’s love interest) both convinced him to accept his father was Yang Tiexin, and escape the city to live a peasant life with his real family. He refused, and Wanyan Honglie decided to run after the reunited family, this led to the deaths of Yang Tiexin and Bao Xiruo. Their deaths, as well as Yang Kang’s new struggle of “who am I?” leads him to Mu Nianci, and he finally accepts he is Yang Tiexin’s son, and a normal Song peasant. But, life as a Song peasant obviously is not as comfortable as life as a Jurchen Prince, and he constantly switches and back and forth from Song peasant to Jurchen Prince. When he discovers the reason Bao Xiruo and Yang Tiexin were separated in the first place was Wanyan Honglie; Mu Nianci, Guo Jing and Huang Rong all tell him to kill Wanyan Honglie. He is about to, but cannot do so, because well, duh, this dude raised him. For eighteen (something) years, he thought he was Wanyan Kang, and not Yang Kang.
This brings me to why he’s a villain - the things I said before, that doesn’t make him a villain, it makes him a human. But what does make him a villain is when he is willing to betray his true country (Song) for Jin, and when he then lies to Mu Nianci.
Is he allowed to not be willing to leave the comfort of the palace? Yes. Is he allowed to not have the guts to kill Wanyan Honglie? Yes. Is he allowed to help Wanyan Honglie once in exchange for Wanyan Honglie raising him? Yes, even twice. But, is he allowed to betray his country and the person who loves him the most just for some title and some riches? No. Sure, he can stay in the palace as a Jurchen prince, but the fact that he used Mu Nianci’s connections to get information about Song army advancements and then TOLD THEM TO WANYAN HONGLIE is unacceptable.
But I do think it ought to be said - Guo Jing, Huang Rong and Mu Nianci were being way too cruel when they asked Yang Kang to kill Wanyan Honglie. That’s like asking you to kill this man who did nothing but be nice to you and raise you as a parent should for your entire childhood. Who is cruel enough to do that?
Tumblr media
Feng Manna (冯曼娜) played by Tao Xinran (陶昕然) - Rookie Agent Rouge (胭脂)
I also felt really bad for Manna, especially in the beginning. In the beginning, her best friend is Lan Yanzhi, and they’re really close - that is until Yanzhi decides to betray Manna. Yanzhi decides to help the Nationalist Party by infiltrating Manna’s house and revealing how Manna’s parents are Japanese spies. Yanzhi does make the Nationalists promise that in her infiltrating the house, these actions will not hurt Manna (but of course they do). Yanzhi’s spying causes the death of Manna’s parents and the destruction of the friendship the two girls had.
So, doesn’t Yanzhi seem like the villain here? Well, two reasons she isn’t, what Manna does after these first few episodes, and because Yanzhi was helping her country (ooooh, I should do an antihero analysis too! Yanzhi would fit so perfectly). After the death of her parents, Manna can only rely on San Ge, the person she loves the most. And eventually, she is forced to go and help the Japanese, something she does with joy, and she really (really really really) wants to capture Yanzhi and torture her too. She ends up being a huge spy for the Japanese, and when she does capture Yanzhi, she unleashes all sorts of torture on her (mental, physical, all the sorts). Her willingness to betray her country just because of a broken friendship does paint her as a traitor, but you do have to consider the fact that she has no where else to go. Her parents were traitors, and so who will believe that she’s a hero? Another factor that makes her a villain is the fact that she believes her parents were correct, she believes that they’ll go to heaven, even though they were evil and wicked. While of course, we, as children (usually), see our parents as good people no matter what they do, Manna should have seen this situation in context.
But now that I write this, Manna is a very pitiful character, and if this story was told from her point of view, Yanzhi would 100% be the villain. Out of the people on this list, Manna has the most reason to do what she does, and while its not correct (what she does), she really had no other option.
Tumblr media
Zhou Zhiruo (周芷若) played by Zhu Xudan (祝绪丹) - Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre (倚天屠龙记)
We’ve already seen how love impacts Zhou Zhiruo’s decisions and her evil, but another factor that causes her transformation is the pressure her master, Miejue put on her before her death. Miejue made Zhou Zhiruo promise not to ever love Zhang Wuji, and even to kill him. She made her the new leader of Emei, but also said that if Zhiruo disobeyed her, then Miejue would never get to experience peace in the afterlife. Zhiruo, who loves Zhang Wuji, but also Miejue doesn't know what to do.
On the Island, she steals the two swords, and while she tries to kill Zhao Min, her master had told her to kill Wuji. She cannot bring herself to do that (meaning she has disobeyed her master and that Miejue will not find peace in the afterlife). She then gets the Nine Yin Manual, and practices the Nine White Bone Claw skill, though she only learns the inferior unorthodox version. Zhiruo kills Yin Li, and pushes all the responsibility onto Zhao Min, continuing to pretend she too is a victim. After being left at the altar, she decides to follow through with Miejue’s orders and becomes the true leader of Emei. She shuts up one of the Emei students who used to talk trash about her by continuously hitting her with her blows until the student finally accepts Zhiruo is truly the leader.
So What Do These Three Have in Common?
They’re being told to do one thing, but they cannot. Yang Kang is told to be a Song peasant, since he’s supposed to be one, but he would rather be a prince. Manna is told she should be sincere to her country, but the only people who will accept her are the Japanese. Zhiruo is told to forget her love for Zhang Wuji, but she loves him too much. This kind of struggle leads them to do cruel things out of confusion or anger. These are the most complex villains, with motives that go beyond just one thing. They do bad things because they cannot live up society’s expectations of a good person, and go the opposite way instead.
So What Makes a Good Villain?
The ones I’ve included as analysis are all good villains, but my favorite, in terms of how complex he is, is Yang Kang. He are real, human, and his motives go beyond just one reason. Manna was also really complex, and also she had just a great transformation. She is kind of forced into the role of a villain because there’s no where else to go. Honestly, though she does some bad things, people in that show (Rookie Agent Rouge) all do bad things, even good guys, so she’s a great reflection of how cruel society can be. She’s a victim, and because no one was willing to help her, or because she wasn’t wiling to accept the truth, she turned into the villain. My least favorite type of villains is the “do it for love” type, since, realistically, few people would go to the point of murder for love.
One of the reasons I feel like Manna is such a good villain, is because Tao Xinran played her role so well. Jiang Xin’s Hua Fei was also SO GOOD! You can see that behind that mask of power and sass, she’s just a little girl who wants to be loved by the one she loves. So, while writing is very important, I think acting is very important as well. You have to create a good character, with human traits and realistic motives, and also an actor or actress has to be able to play out these traits.

→ His Personality Patch is a complicated soul with a mixed and unusual personality. He just wants to be happy and live in the moment. He keeps his past under wraps and is often accused of keeping more lies than telling the truth by those close to him. Patch doesn’t believe he’s a liar but admits to avoiding questions he does not wish to answer. Keeping his troubled past behind him, Patch can come off as an old soul who is much older than what he seems with the tendency to be warm, kind and bright; just a delight to be around when the moment calls for it. He hates negativity and keeps a small circle of true friends. A circle he doesn’t wish to expand while he works on his self worth and self improvement. Being completely focused on himself lately as dimmined his warmth as he is now oftentimes cold towards those he doesn’t know and easily drop unnecessary criticism or insults. As of lately, Patch's gregarious lifestyle has slowed down.

Adelaide Blanchette (Friend): Addie is one of the newer members and Patch tries to include her in his outings.
Jia Cleirigh (Friendly): Jia throws the best parties and has wicked charms Patch love getting his hands on.
Rachel Sloane (Friendly): Patch noticed her in the Underground when she was human and when she was turned into a vampire.
Hostile Connections:
Jaxson Idris (Hate):  There’s no need for anyone to follow or try to annoy the crap out of Patch but Jax seems to mess with him on purpose.
Louis Martin-Rovet (Dislike): Judson has told him about Louis and the rats keeping an eye on him.
Pets:
‘Bastian (Monkey): He didn’t steal it and it’s not illegal. That’s the important part.
→ History Jev was born to Marco and Giuseppina in the Tuscany region of Italy. Their family was successful at finding new faces and building identities for people who needed to get lost. Their family followed the old way of practicing changing smaller aspects of themselves. Instead of changing their entire appearance to someone who already existed, they practiced changing their eye color, hair color, jaw structure, age appearance, body type and/or other structures and features. That’s where Jev earned the nickname Patch. He had a hack for patching together unbelievable faces. Patch was around the age of 14, when his parents offered Sirius and his followers’ new identities for the New World. Patch parents were intrigued and knew a lot of people from that world would need a fresh start or be a breeding place for new face shifts. That started their journey with nearly 60 other human shifters towards Ruperet’s Land where Sirius had planned to join the Hudson’s Bay Company in the fur trading business but also to establish homes in the mining and industrial towns across Canada and the United States.
That’s how they continued for a few years as Patch learnt about other supernatural creatures, he only heard stories about as a child. His first supernatural friend that wasn’t a human shifter was a moose that was caught by hunters. Patch helped him out of the bind, and they became close friends. It was then that Patch and Vincent created a way to help those animal shifters that needed protection from hunters. They got paid and built relationships with the locals. They ran into a group of vampires from Iceland and Norway, who had heard rumors about Canada having longer nights. Patch parents helped them with new identities but beyond that they were no help to them. Patch bonded with one of their Zygotes but lost contact with her after her change. Next was Judson and Ronan Cleirigh, a group of warlocks that came up wanting to help their cursed cousin. Patch bonded immediately with Judson and they’ve been attached by the hip since. It didn’t take much to convince Sirius to move them down to Chicago. It was a new town and Judson had hinted towards their large number of different species and lawlessness. Their reformed family of 213 human shifters slowly left Canada and traveled down to Illinois.
They acted as mediators when they first arrived. Taking payments to privately help solve supernatural on supernatural crimes, street robbery, murder, petty thievery, prostitution, rape, missing children and poaching. Taking note from New York, Philadelphia and Boston, Sirius pushed to establish and form the Chicago Police Department. Patch wasn’t really interested as he spent most of his time with the Cleirigh family or Underground with the vampires. Judson introduced him to the world of travel and the vampires were pure entertainment as they expanded the Underground. It wasn’t until the early 1900s that Patch joined the force, but he found himself more comfortable among the dead in the morgue and helping the vampires by faking the deaths of their zygotes when the time called for it. He plans on remaining in the said position until it is time to take over his parents’ business. Patch gets by, by changing his face every few years or simply aging face up like his parents thought him.
→ The Present Patch is working towards getting his godson, Ryan together with his coworker, Kate. They’re a perfect match for each other and have been running circles around each other for months. Patch had recently told Kate that Ryan likes her too and that the poor boy is too shy to ask her out. He plans on telling Ryan the same thing to get things moving. This decade seems to be the decade of love because Patch is also trying to find a special someone for Churchill too. Churchill denies needing someone but Patch thinks that having someone special is always worth it. He is worried that Churchill will single forever or possibly sleep with the wrong person and cause a lot of drama. Patch has been working on building Church a new face and identity for when shit hits the fan or whenever he agrees to start dating again.

No Strings (XII)
Tumblr media
Author: kpopfanfictrash
Pairing: You / Jimin
Rating:  PG-13
Warning: babies, pregnancy
Word Count: 2,209
Summary: It started off as such a simple question. How to know if you’re bad in bed? Of course when you asked, you didn’t imagine Jimin would actually answer. (This is an additional part to my series, No Strings. It takes place in the future, after the fic)
“Babe,” Jimin whispers, low in the dark.
Mumbling nonsense, you nestle further into the bed. The sheets are warm, soft and you have worked too many hours this week at work. It is your last week before you are supposed to go out on leave and the days have been crammed full of meetings, preparing your team for your absence.
The days have been excruciating, coupled with your aching bones and sore feet. Everything hurts – everything is tired and right now, there is nothing you want more than to curl up on the mattress and fall into blissful slumber.
Jimin moves closer, lips brushing your shoulder. Gently, his hand slips over the curve of your waist. When he finds your belly, he smiles, humming contentedly to himself.
Kissing your shoulder again, he sighs and murmurs, “Baby?”
Lips lowering into a pout, you do not open your eyes. “No,” you grumble, unmoving.
A breathy laugh falls from his lips. “But babe,” Jimin whines, burying his head in your shoulder. His dark hair tickles your skin.
It is cute when he does this, no matter how sleepy you are. Almost, you roll over to face him but stop yourself. “What?” you sigh, still not opening your eyes.
“I – hey. What if I’m bad at it?”
At this, your eyes open. Light filters in from the street to cast a soft, fluorescent glow on the floor. When Minsun and Seokjin got married, they moved into their own apartment and left you with this one. Jimin decided to move in, much to your relief. Your place was bigger than his and did not smell strongly of boy. Of course, these days your place smells like formula (various kinds, for testing) and the crib Jimin built in the corner.
As gracefully as you can (which is not very gracefully), you roll sideways to face him. It takes two attempts – one to get halfway, and one more to finish. Jimin’s hands cup your waist midway to help you along. When you are facing him fully, he pulls you forward until your belly presses to his. He smiles at this, faint in the dark.
“Jimin,” you say, pushing hair from his forehead. Your fingers linger, tracing his ear, his jaw, his neck until your hand falls to the bed. “You won’t be bad at it.”
Doubt enters his gaze. “How do you know?” he whispers, sincere. “I’ve never been… that kind of guy, you know?”
“What kind of guy?”
Jimin shrugs on the pillow. “You know... the good-with-kids guy. No one has ever asked me to baby-sit, Y/N. Never. Once, I had to hold a baby at a tailgate and it almost drank some of my beer.” When you snort, he cries, “It’s true! When co-workers bring their kids to the office, I hide in the break rooms. I – what makes you think I can handle this?”
Even as he says this, his hands gently stroke your hips, your belly. Trying not to smile, you wonder if he even realizes he does this.
“Because,” you say, shifting closer. “You can handle it. Our kid won’t be like all those other random kids. They’ll be ours. Of course, you’ll love them. Just… you know. Imagine a little you, running around our halls.”
“Sounds terrifying.”
“Imagine, I don’t know, a small human you get to play tag with.”
“Just how small are we talking, here?”
“Small.”
“Like, scary small?”
“Like, baby small. ‘Cuz it’s a baby.”
“Hm.” Jimin considers. “I don’t know about that.”
Trying not to laugh, you close your eyes on the bed. “Jimin,” you moan. “I’m tired. I already have one, giant human baby growing inside me. I don’t want convince my adult human baby everything will be fine, too!”
Jimin snorts and scoots closer. “Hey, I’m sorry,” he whispers, nuzzling your neck. “I’m sorry, babe. I just had a moment, you know?”
“I know,” you whisper, opening your eyes to stare at him in the dark. “I have those moments, too. All the time.”
“Cool.” Jimin smiles, then falters. “It’ll be okay, I promise. Lots of people way dumber than us have had babies,” he assures. “If they can do it, so can we!”
“That’s…” Your expression is horrified. “That’s not comforting in the slightest!”
“Yes, it is!” Jimin smiles while kissing your skin. “We can be those parents who lose their kid in the grocery but like, find them before they cause major damage.
In disbelief, you stare. “That is your hope for our child?”
“I’m trying to be realistic,” Jimin says, pressing his lips together in an attempt not to laugh. “We probably won’t have some virtuoso kid, but we could have a hell-raising demon who roams grocery stores.”
“Well, hallelujah for realism.”
“But babe,” Jimin says, gently squeezing your waist. Your very pregnant belly presses into his stomach but Jimin does not seem to mind. “I love you. You love me. We’ll love the shit out of this little one,” he nods, glancing down. “Everything will be fine.”
His words make your stomach swoop, so full of warmth that you feel vaguely nauseous. In fact – no, wait, false alarm. You do not need to throw up again.
“I know it will,” you yawn, eyelids already half-shut. “You’re gonna be a great dad, y’know?”
Stilling, Jimin lowers his head to your shoulder. “You think?” he whispers. From the seriousness of his tone, you know he genuinely needed that reassurance.
Nodding gently, you wrap your arms tighter around him. It feels vaguely uncomfortable like this, but the end result is worth it. “You already built our baby a crib. You taste-tested formula all last weekend. You baby-proofed the entire apartment. You’re already a better dad than most dads who have a child.”
Jimin laughs quietly, snuggling closer. “But I don’t wanna be better than most dads,” he says, barely audible. “I wanna be the best dad.”
“And that’s exactly why you will be,” you whisper, drifting off. “Now, shut up and let me sleep.”
Tumblr media
“Keys, keys, keys,” you mutter, digging around in the front hall drawer. The shiny gold keychain is nowhere to be found. “Jimin!” you call, twisting to grab for your purse. “Did you put the keys somewhere else last night?”
There is no response and you sigh, turning around. The clanging of pots and pans comes from the kitchen, along with squeaky, high-pitched laughter – from either Jimin, or your daughter. You are honestly not sure. Dashing across the hall, you enter the room.
“Ji –”
“Mommy, mommy, mommy!” Jia cries, toddling over. Immediately, she latches onto your work pants. “You came back!”
Seeing her, you cannot help but smile. Bending, you scoop your daughter up and kiss the top of her hair. She smells like baby lotion; all soft and warm from her morning bath. “I needed one more hug,” you say seriously, squeezing her gently. Pushing yourself upwards to stand, you arch a brow at Jimin. “And to ask daddy where he put the keys to the car.”
Giggling, Jia holds onto your leg. “Keys, daddy!” she exclaims, holding out her hand.
Mid-way through wiping a pan, Jimin looks up. When he sees your daughter, he cannot help but grin. Letting go of the pan, he drops this into the water.
“Why do you need the keys, princess? Are you driving mommy to work?” Jimin gasps, reaching to scoop her up from the ground. “You’re so smart! Already driving, wow! Now, I have something to really brag about at the next PTA meeting. That Mrs. Weaselbart has been out of control,” he informs over Jia’s shoulder.
Trying not to smile, you cross your arms. “Isn’t Jia friends with her son?”
Jimin begins to pepper his daughter with kisses. “She,” he says, ignoring Jia’s squirming, “can do so much better than Greg Weaselbart.” Huffing, he blows a loud raspberry onto her skin.
Jia squeals. “Daddy, stop!”
Over the top of her head, Jimin meets your gaze. “The keys aren’t in the drawer?” he asks, feigning innocence. Using your daughter as a shield, he crosses the kitchen.
Rolling your eyes, you follow. “No,” you say, trying hard not to smile. “You drove home last night, right? I’m not going crazy, am I?”
“An entirely differently question.” Jimin grins when you swat his arm. “But no, you’re right. I drove. Remember? Seokjin drove too, and we were joking about being your chauffeurs. We wondered how it all came to this.”
“I can answer that,” you say, pulling open a drawer to search through it again. “We met and then boom, five years later, you stopped being a chicken.”
“Daddy’s a chicken!” Jia giggles, nestled into the crook of Jimin’s arm.
Jimin comes to a stop. You two really need to start looking for a bigger place to live in – this apartment has become crowded, what with all of Jia’s baby things.
“No, no.” Jimin pokes his daughter’s cheeks. “Daddy isn’t a chicken. Daddy is the best, right?”
“Daddy wants a chicken!”
“Hm.” Jimin makes a face and considers this. “Alright, that’s a pretty good compromise.”
“Jimin!” You laugh, crossing the room to loop your arms around his waist. Propping your chin on his shoulder, you wrinkle your nose at Jia. “The keys?”
“Oh, right.” Jimin turns around, surveying the kitchen.
He wears a pink printed apron wrapped around his waist. The item used to be yours before you two moved in together. Somehow, it became his – probably since Jimin is the better cook between you by far. Suds cling to the end of the garment; Jimin seems oblivious to the mess, scanning the room.
“Aha!” he cries, suddenly remembering. “My jeans pocket.” Jimin looks at you guiltily. “I never took them out last night – sorry, babe.”
“S’okay,” you say, placing a kiss on his cheek.
Turning around, you jog down the hall to enter your bedroom. Jimin’s jeans lie in a rumpled heap before the hamper but he is correct; the keys are smushed in the back pocket. Triumphantly freeing them, you glance at the clock and groan. Fuck, you are so late.
“Okay, bye!” you yell, re-grabbing your bag as you pass through the kitchen. “I’m the one picking Jia up from day care today. Don’t forget to tell your boss you need to leave early tomorrow. Okay, Jimin?”
Tomorrow is the first time you are leaving Jia alone for the weekend. For the past two years, you have left her with Jimin’s parents, or yours for a day at a time, but never a whole weekend. Skidding to a stop in the doorway of the kitchen, you nearly run into Jimin.
“You know, I was thinking.” He sets Jia down on the ground. Happily, she toddles down the hall towards her toys. “Maybe it’s too soon to go.”
Jimin stage-whispers this last part, gaze trained on his daughter disappearing into the front room.
Hiding a smile, you tug on your purse. For someone who was so worried about parenthood, Jimin has been the most devoted father you know. Rivaled only by Seokjin, whose hovering over his and Minsun’s son is near-criminal. You know the main reason Jimin disapproves of Greg Weselbart (well, okay, among other reasons) is because he and Seokjin have a pact for their kids to be married one day.
“Oh?” Seeing the worry on Jimin’s expression, you melt just a little. “You’re being ridiculous,” you say, reaching out for his waist and pulling him close.
Jimin pouts, kissing you back when you rise on tip-toe. His body sinks into yours, familiar parts searching in a way they have not had time for lately. When he opens your mouth, tongue slipping inside, he makes a low groan.
“Alright,” Jimin breathes, breaking away to rest his forehead to yours. “Maybe... some time alone would be nice.”
The corner of your mouth twitches. Even now, your ears are trained upon the next room, ready to run in if Jia makes so much as a peep. Being a parent can be exhausting. Rewarding – but exhausting.
“It will be nice,” you say, pulling away. Forcing yourself to keep moving, you hike your bag higher on your shoulder. “Besides, Namjoon is great with her. I think he may even bring his girlfriend for a bit.”
Jimin squints suspiciously. “Are we sure about that?”
“Are you sure about Namjoon watching our baby alone?”
“Good point.” Jimin shrugs. Glancing down, he notices the suds on his apron for the first time. “Okay, I’m gonna go finish cleaning. See you tonight,” he says, leaning in to kiss you again on the cheek.
Nodding, you turn. As you pass the front room, you blow a kiss at Jia – who misses the gesture entirely, too engrossed in whatever toy she is building. It makes your heart ache, happiness wrapping you from head to toe as you step into the hall. Paused for a moment, you think about how lucky you are.
A large crash comes from behind the shut door. Jumping slightly, you scramble away before you can be roped into the clean up. You will get the next one, you reason, stifling a grin.

Part of my Immortal Inquisitor and High Warlock of Alicante Series
Read on AO3
The years pass them by sometimes slow, sometimes fast.
Aline makes a choice and with Catarina’s help stands strongly by her wife for eternity, a brood to rival Magnus and Alec’s own of Seelie and warlock children around them. Maia and Bat do much the same, never officially marrying, but raising a pack of young wolves that each make a name for themselves across history, both in the Shadow World and the culinary world.
Jace and Clary keep it smaller. Jace’s lifelong motto of three go in, three come out eagerly passed down to their children. Izzy admits she doesn’t have it in her to choose forever, Simon grieves, but loves no less. They have no children, but maintain to be the greatest aunt and uncle the world has ever seen.
Underhill passes in an unexpected battle, Lorenzo’s grief palpable, he steps down as High Warlock and leaves the city. They’re not sure if he’ll ever come back and it takes almost two centuries for them to realize they were right.
They bury Jace, a little reckless still fighting demon’s in alleyways well into his sixties, Alec’s Parabatai rune fading for good this time.
Luke goes quietly, then Maryse follows not long after. Clary passes peacefully in the night in a house filled with her children and grandchildren, her Parabatai feeling that sting of sharp pain then peace as Izzy sits sentry by her side. Bat and Maia, the picture of second chances at true love inexplicably pass hand in hand on the same night and are burned on a pyre in their pack’s tradition the same way. Isabelle and Raphael, obstinately stubborn until the end hang on, so long so that Simon always jokes they’ll outlive him, Magnus and Alec. He speaks at both their funerals, making everyone chuckle amongst the somber mood.
Simon travels for a while no longer feeling at home in the only city he’s ever known to be that to him. He returns when Max goes, which is somehow the hardest, the youngest of them gone in a flash, Simon provides a comforting familiar presence standing next to Magnus as he holds his sobbing his husband to his chest. Simon decides to stick around after, Meliorn of all people reaches out; two men who loved Isabelle Lightwood quite possibly more than anything finding solace in one another.
They raise seven warlock children of their own. Each unique and the apple of their father’s eyes. Summer travels constantly, pursuing art like her Aunt Clary. Three of them become high warlocks of varying cities. Two work within the Clave, delegates that one day take on higher positions, their oldest son with aspirations to one day be the first warlock Inquisitor following in his dad’s footsteps. Their youngest becomes a nurse like they’re dear Aunt Catarina. Magnus and Alec are impossibly prouder every single day.
They become grandparents, which Magnus makes endless jokes about how he’s too young for that, only once. A perfect little warlock girl with raven hair and tiny wings. Magnus and Alec both can’t hold back the happy tears when their eldest son tells them her name, Isabelle.
Generations of Lightwood-Herondale-Penhallow-Blackthorn-Fray-Velasquez-Roberts’s come and go, even when they’re not near or even all that close to them Magnus and Alec make sure they know they’ll always be a portal away if needed.
Alec becomes Consul after an impressive run as Inquisitor, Jia holding onto the role quite literally until the bitter end naming Alec her successor only a few days before she’s gone.
He steps down officially after two full lifetimes in service to a better Clave eager to see what the new, even more open generations will do and what the next chapter of their immortal lives will hold. Magnus remains Alicante’s High Warlock for slightly longer, a need to see some final things through in the City of Glass, stepping down and gratefully handing over the position to Madzie who’s all grown up. Helen and Aline try to talk them both out of stepping down, they love them for it even if they can’t agree.
They travel, they grow, they seek out every corner of the earth they can revisiting old spots they’ve been to watching them in a new light.
Because they’re still just like any other couple despite the extraordinary nature of their love they fight, but they always fall into the same space, the same bed night after night.
Magnus ends up the High Warlock of three more cities, his friends joke he’s going for some kind of all-time record. Alec gets roped back into the Clave by their children and Aline for a while, he enjoys the work while it lasts.
They make new friends, establish new allies. Work keeps them apart sometimes, so much so that they go full years feeling like ships in the night only meeting in bed and at breakfast in they’re lucky, and despite the expanse of centuries both behind and in front of them they still don’t fare well totally apart for more than a few short weeks. The omamori never leaves Magnus’ pocket, a constant reminder that no matter how near or far they are Alec will always be a call away to love and protect him.
They call so many places home they start to lose track, but the loft always comes with them. Their love and lifetimes and their children’s childhoods too etched into the occasionally renovated walls to ever let it go.
Institute’s rise and fall. Hell dimensions are shattered, some demon breeds go extinct. History tries to repeat itself a few too many times, but the voices of change and good drown it out before it even dares try to take hold.
They stave off a few more near apocalypses, the last of which is led by none other than Magnus’ father somehow free of limbo. The darkness and the rage his father seeps into him damn near takes hold, but like he always does Alec pulls him back. His family pulls him back. The event takes its toll, the hardest hit they’ve taken in centuries frankly, but they’re stronger than any damage his father tries to leave behind. They rid the world and all worlds of him once and for all.
They embark on a ten-year long vacation on an island Magnus forgot he’d actually bought back in the 1980’s once Magnus has finally physically healed from the things his father nearly made him do. Their children stay for a while a strengthening comfort to their father’s but eventually depart back to their own lives leaving the two of them to it.
They laze away days, swim laps in crystal blue waters and make love on sun-soaked balconies, Alec pressing reassuring, affirming phrases of never-ending love into his skin. It takes a while, but eventually he feels healed on every level.
The earth moves and grinds and changes. Fads come and go, generations of mundanes do right and do wrong. Eventually earth isn’t the only option and they think maybe they’ve found their next adventure.
They remain faithful and constant, side by side, two halves of one whole through all the highs and lows, the triumphs and the tragedies, and everything in between.
Alec and Magnus hold tight hand and hand through it all, each other’s one and only. Just the two of them, always the two of them.

EW Kitty au (the diary)
@djinmer4 @dannybagpipesarecalling @sailorstar9 @discordsworld @look-ma-no-hands336
N/A: Based on a prompt I did. EW Kurt is really kinky.
In a cold Tuesday, Kitty decides to take her students and her son to the Maerra, a Caribbean island that is far away from their home, but, teleportation spells are real and portals are too and Lockheed can be big enough to carry them to the new place, of course, Kitty prefers to use a safer transportation.
And Charlie notices how her mother is with her trademark smile, a plot is in the make and Charlie is unsure of what to do now, Jia and Magik are happier for be travelling in a dragon. And their excitement continues as they are walking in the marketing of Maerra and see the wonders.
Suddenly, they bump into Talia and her father, who judging by the groceries shops in her hand; they were spending some time in the famous markets of Maerra. Charlie notices her mother´s expression and her plot will happen any minute now. “Hello, Talia, hello, Kurt” she greets and Charlie, Jia and Magik did the same. (Although, Jia is not being very polite, understandable as she does not like Kurt at all) “me and the kids we're hoping to buy supplies and to teach a certain someone” Kitty, Jia and Yana points at Charlie amused “how to cook, the poor man does not know how to make a cake”
Talia laughs. “What? Really?!” she chortles at his expression. “The markets have street fairs teaching how to cook” Talia speaks in a sense of suggestion.
“Really? Could you take this man there?” Charlie has no means to say no as Talia is guiding Charlie to the street fair and Yana and Jia are getting the plot and follow them, leaving only Kurt and Kitty alone, he, like her beloved son, didn´t get the plot.
“I did that so we could be alone and that man should know how to cook” Kitty explained amused and resist to call Kurt child, well, this would fit the thematic of their conversation. Kurt now has a malicious smile, but, Kitty put a finger on his lips.
“I´m here because I want to talk with you and retrieve something that belongs to you” she explained taking out of her bag a notebook that has seen a better day, however, even the weary and decay cover does not stop Kurt to realize what it is and his blood turns cold.
“HOW?!” he asked almost feral and it gains the attention of the others, Kitty suggests them to go to their house, and yes, she knows he has a house here.
Arriving in his house, she explains that nice folks, “no, I won´t give their names”, paid her to get rid of ghosts living in their house, that used to belong to Kurt, and the ghosts are grateful enough that they send a gift to her. “Your diary”
“One” Kurt starts speaking loud but with no bite “is a journal and …did you read it?” Kitty nods and explain is the only way to know if it is really Kurt´s to retrieve it. Kurt frowns, but, Kitty assures him she only read the first page that has his name and nothing else.
“Now, you know my secret? A secret I buried deep into my soul” Kurt speaks too dramatically for Kitty´s taste and she explained once again she only read one page that has his name and nothing else. “A secret that no one can ever know”
Kitty rolls her eyes. “Oh, please, you have mommy kink, I don´t need a diary to know that, I´ve got eyes, elf, asking my son to share tales of his childhood, saying you don´t want to be a bad boy, looking an awestruck every time I mother my own son or my students, really, I didn´t read the diary nor I ever need to” she confessed.
“Aren´t you freak out? I have…this kinky for as long I can remember” Kurt speaks now confused.
“And I have blood kinky, elf, yet, you don´t see me being extra in the streets about that    “ she quipped back. “I´m here because I want to talk about this” she starts and Kurt is expecting the worse.
“I see, you think my kinky is a disease and I need therapy, trust me I tried, but, it never went away, my birth mother and foster mother were horrible and my analytic believes that´s the reason for my kink” Kurt explained deeply.
Kitty blinks. “You got to analytic? That´s wonderful, and stop being a dramatic elf, didn´t I just confess I have blood kink? No one here will be kink shame and if you want to act on your kink with me…is fine” Kitty speaks and Kurt is sure he´s dead and this is heaven “of course, we need to talk about boundaries and what´s comfortable for both of us”
“Why Am I surprised? And happy, but, surprised nonetheless?” Kurt asked this more to himself than anything. “Because you´re the worst detective ever, trying being subtle with you does not work” Kitty confess and Kurt can´t deny.

Relationship Building: Parental Style: Johnny and Marcus
How did Marcus feel when Johnny was born?
Marcus was very happy to finally be able to meet his son but was terrified that he would end up like his father and worried Johnny would grow to hate him.
What moments of Johnny does Marcus look back upon fondly?
The first time Johnny played piano with Jia, how they both looked up at him with giant smiles on their faces and Jia said “Isn’t he just amazing? Our little songbird is a natural! Look at him go! That’s our boy!”
(Human AU) Johnny bringing home Olive and refusing to leave her side, sleeping on the concrete floor just to be able to comfort the puppy if need be.
Johnny hugging him when he went to see him after the talent show performance.
Johnny climbing into his and Jia’s bed as a kid to cuddle with them as a way to convince them not to make him go to school.
The first time Johnny did a skate trick and ran up to him to ask if he saw that and “How was that dad? Did you like it?” with a huge smile and puppy-dog eyes.
How Johnny insisted at being at every single court date to support him and making a heart with his hands during sentencing.
Johnny playing the piano during the talent show, fulfilling his mother’s lifelong dream of performing for a show audience.
Johnny sitting with Jia in the hospital, listening to her sing and singing the lyrics back.
(Human AU) Johnny handing him a stuffed gorilla on the two year anniversary of Jia’s death because he was crying and hugging him saying “Mummy didn’t like it when you cried Daddy… And I don’t like it either, it makes me sad.”
What moments of Marcus does Johnny look back upon fondly?
Marcus giving him his first skateboard and teaching him to skate.
Marcus holding Johnny on his shoulders when they visited Buckingham palace to see the changing of the guard when Johnny was little.
Marcus picking Johnny up from school after he fainted for the first time in 3rd grade with his stuffed toys and a weighted blanket.
How his dad gives him a hug every time he’s allowed during court dates.
How his dad will tell him story after story about his mum whenever he cries about missing her.
Marcus letting him help in the shop using his skateboard as a mechanic creeper even though he kept hitting his head.
Marcus teaching him how to drive calmly, like how he was when Johnny was little.
(Human AU) Marcus giving Johnny a stuffed gorilla as a birthday present the year after his mum died on a trip to the zoo.
His dad hugging him super tight after breaking out to see him.
When did they feel closest to each other?
The first few years after Jia’s death as Johnny was afraid of losing his dad as well and Marcus just wanted to cling to the last piece of Jia he had.
Why did they start to drift apart?
When Johnny started hitting his teens he started to take after Jia more and more to the point it was all Marcus could see when he looked at him. This led Marcus to start pushing his son away as he didn’t want to get attached enough that it would hurt to remember losing her all over again and hating Johnny’s resemblance to his mum as it made him think he was going to lose Johnny too.
Johnny never understood why his dad suddenly seemed to hate being around him and blamed himself, distancing himself from his father as the man started to try to make him more like himself which Johnny hated and took as a sign that his dad didn’t like him for who he was.
What were their biggest fights about?
They fought a bit about the gang and robberies at the start but it mostly had stopped until Marcus kept trying to get Johnny involved and Johnny wanted nothing to do with it.
What does Marcus resent about Johnny?
He resents how much Johnny takes after his mum as it makes him scared he’s going to lose Johnny too and how Johnny got his stubbornness so they argue a lot and hold grudges easily.
What does Johnny resent about Marcus?
He resents how his dad doesn’t listen to him and instead assumes aspects of his life as it makes him feel invisible and unimportant and how stubborn he is so that they argue and fight a lot as well as hold grudges way too easily.
What past issues have created tension between them?
Johnny being very dismissive of his future in the gang and refusing to participate further than being a lookout. Marcus refusing to listen to his son’s wishes.
Is one of them more invested in the relationship than the other?
In the beginning, Johnny was far more invested in their relationship than his father, mainly because his father does not see anything wrong with it but they eventually become equally invested.
What is Johnny’s moral philosophy?
To be honest to yourself and loyal to your family in the pursuit of your goals, you can choose your own path and future. Loyalty to Self.
What is Marcus’s moral philosophy?
To be loyal to your found family above all else with no exception, choose your family wisely as people you can speak your mind to. Loyalty to Group.
What is Marcus’s parenting style?
He’s pretty hands off but overprotective when Johnny’s health and safety is concerned. He is becoming more involved in his son’s life now and started caring about what’s going on.
How does Johnny react when they fight?
Johnny shuts down emotionally and just becomes really snarky, typically leaving the shop for a few hours.
How does Marcus react when they fight?
Marcus gets angry and yells a lot and typically just stews angrily in the shop til he’s tired. He snaps at Stan and Barry as well.
How does Johnny react to Marcus’s reaction?
Johnny feels hurt when he gets yelled at and yells back, typically saying things he doesn’t mean and usually ends up crying until Stan or Barry step in to stop it.
How does Marcus react to Johnny’s reaction?
Marcus gets angry that Johnny’s running away from the fight and typically yells more, usually saying things he doesn’t mean and starts to get emotional until Stan or Barry step in.
What is something they both agree on?
Both of them like berry Jaffa Cakes over orange, like speaking Hindi at home, and enjoy doing things hands on instead of things like desk jobs. Loyalty is extremely important.
What is something they both value?
Communication and loyalty. They both struggle to understand implied meanings and things and their relationship has suffered a lot from miscommunication and assumptions. Loyalty is important because it’s reassuring to know someone has your back, especially when you’re new someplace or in a gang.
How does Johnny take after Marcus?
He is as stubborn as his father and inherited his die-hard loyalty to people he cares about. (Human AU) He does not take after him much in terms of appearance except for his nose, black hair that is curlier than his mum’s, and a bit darker skin tone than hers. He also got his dad’s dramatic flair that the man claims is not from him.
How does Marcus feel about Johnny taking after him?
Marcus was honestly horrified when Stan pointed out that they were going to keep fighting since Johnny was just like him when it came to being stubborn and thought he messed up his kid by Johnny taking after him.
How would Johnny describe their relationship?
“It was a bit rough for a while but it’s getting better! We’re going to family therapy and stuff and he’s really supportive now. A bit overprotective but he’s trying really hard and we’ll be back to normal soon.”
How would Marcus describe their relationship?
“I destroyed it without realizing for years but Johnny’s giving me a second chance now. I’m going to get better and be the father he deserves, if it’s the last thing I do. I owe him that at the very least.”
What is Johnny’s strongest memory of Marcus?
Marcus telling him he’s proud of him after the talent show performance.
What is Marcus’s strongest memory of Johnny?
Johnny crying and begging him not to leave too in the hospital after Jia passed away.
What’s the worst memory of Marcus that Johnny has?
Marcus disowning him after he caused him to get arrested, the hatred and anger in his eyes.
What’s the worst memory of Johnny that Marcus has?
The pain and fear on Johnny’s face right after he disowned him, the pain and fear he caused his son to feel.
What’s the worst thing that Marcus has ever said to Johnny?
“How did I end up with a son like you? You’re nothing like me. You never have been and you never will be.” - From Sing 1 where Marcus disowned Johnny for messing up the heist.
What’s the worst thing that Johnny has ever said to Marcus?
“I wish I was never even born! At least then mum would still be here and you actually loved her!” - From when they moved to the states, Johnny was ten and wanted to stay in England.
What do Johnny and Marcus do together?
Johnny lives at the garage with his dad but they only really hang out at meal times and if Marcus needs help on a car repair at first. Eventually, they start having family game nights, watching movies, and working in the garage together. They also attend court ordered family therapy on Sundays.
How does Marcus feel about Johnny’s hobbies/interests?
He doesn’t really understand them but tries his best to be supportive of his son and takes time out of his schedule to go watch as many of his performances as he can. He occasionally helps Johnny with the piano after picking some up from Jia.
How does Johnny feel about Marcus’s hobbies/interests?
He does not have much interest in cars or mechanical things but encourages his dad’s interest in them much more than he encouraged the gang. He helps out when he can and genuinely enjoys it as a chance to spend time with Marcus.
How would an outsider describe their relationship?
They are pretty close for a father-son pair and seem to be willing to do a lot for each other. They always stand up for each other and are very supportive as well. Overall, a very nice loving relationship, if a little overprotective on Marcus’s side.

I’ll Meet You At The Bottom (Part 13)
I’m probably going to get another ass kicking for this.
Sleep didn’t find the princess easily that night. The fear of getting stabbed to death or smothered in her sleep weight too heavy on her brain. Sleeping with one eye open wouldn’t be enough, she needed them both wide and alert. But she didn’t want to go home, not after putting up such a fuss to stay. She fluffed her pillow, to give herself something to do and put her head back down. The night air was warm and merciful, if not, just a little muggy. But Azula longed for her bed and the luxurious comforts it offered her.
The night proved that the rest of Chan’s gang, she had since learned was called the Nyūkirā, would let her be. Probably by word of Chan. Even so he urged her to sleep well and so, very late in the night, she found herself dozing off. The hushed whispers of Minho, Yoko, and a boy named Taeyul let her know that she was something of a strange creature to observe. Minho talked all too openly of how attractive he found her. He kept his hands to himself, but the same could not be said for his eyes—the weight of them seemed to follow her into her dreams.
The day to follow had gone by and it wasn’t terrible, perhaps a little awkward but she had come to know the rest of the boys by name. Over the most pathetic excuse for breakfast that Azula had even eaten, she learned that Taeyul was the most timid of the lot, skinny and small—only an inch or two taller than she—but he was good with a knife. And that where he was shy, Yoona was social. Social but without a scrap of literacy. Her language was more broken than Yoko’s. Yoko who was the gruffest of the lot. Only fifteen and had a full beard and the biceps of the most stereotypical earthbender. Azula had come to find that the Nyūkirā did have an actual earthbender. A boy who went by Boryuk, a boy who was missing an ear as it had been sliced off by his father before the man sold him off to the Fire Nation as a means to avoid imprisonment.
She began thinking over a false name to give them, but they never inquired.
Later in the day, after a trip to the industrial park Chan had been so eager to show her, the muscular girl finally opened up some. She gave nothing but the name, Bo-Rem and possessively warned Azula to stay away from Kohza as if she’d shown any interest in the first place. Wire was the last to introduce himself, apparently, he had another name but it was effectively replaced and forgotten after many mishaps with wire traps.
And of course there was Minho. Minho, who threatened to slit her throat on numerous occasions throughout the day. Minho, who had no sense of personal space. Minho, who spent the day making tactless remarks about her body.
Minho, whom Azula had found an unexpected connection with. The boy was the in just about as deep as she was. He spied the Ruby Tears in her pocket and asked if he could have a whiff. She agreed under the contract that he stop making comments about her chest. He showed her how to inhale it without leaving it to burn her nose and throat as it entered her system. She took the advice but—still shaken by her trip to the hospital wing—allowed herself a much smaller intake. After a quick sniff he muttered something of wanting to be free. With the Ruby Tears snorted, and a few cups of cactus juice in her belly, she allowed him to sling an arm over her shoulder and rattle on and on about the sunset and how her eyes reminded him of it.
She begrudgingly admitted to herself that it felt nice to have someone suggest that she had some beauty left, even if the attempt was executed sloppily.
 .oOo.
“Are you holding up okay?” Zuko asked.
Determined not to vocalize how fruitless he knew their efforts would be, he took a page from Azula’s book and danced around the question, “I’d hold up better if we stopped off for a snack.” They had the whole of capital city to search and so far, in a day’s time, they’ve managed to search a quarter of the innermost ring. By the time they finished that, Sokka imagined that Azula would be in a different location entirely. It wasn’t like her to stay in one place. He supposed that he wouldn’t either if he were trying to run away.
He’d lost track of how many times he uttered, “this is my fault you know?” or something like it. But he repeated it again because it was eating him alive. “What if she turns up dead?”
“Sokka, she can take care of herself.” Zuko reminded.
“Can she? The last time I saw her she…she was so helpless. I think she’s afraid.”
“And she hates being that way. Now that you’ve seen it, she’s probably out there trying to fix it.”
Sokka stared at his platter of smoked sausage. He picked up his fork and pretended to have an interest in it. When his mood didn’t seem to lift any, Zuko continued, “I’m trying to tell you that you did help her.” At this Sokka’s attention hiked up. “Just by seeing her like that, you got her to leave her room. I think that you made her want to help herself.”
“Or,” he countered, “I made her want to get more powerful…” He stopped himself, Zuko didn’t know about the drugs yet. How could he keep forgetting? Why was he so careless?
“More powerful?” Zuko prompted him to continue with a rotating hand gesture.
“Um…that’s it, I made her want to get more powerful.” He finished awkwardly feeling like a complete moron. He hoped that his cheeks didn’t show themselves as fiery as they felt. It would seem that he was just as bad at covering his new secrets as he was at hiding the painting.
“Trust me Sokka, she’ll be fine, somehow she always is.” Sokka couldn’t tell if the Fire Lord was happy about this prospect or not. But he hoped with everything in him, that Zuko was right. He couldn’t handle it if one more person died because he’d entered their life.
The sun fell from the sky in a hue so magnificent, he almost felt unworthy of seeing it. It had such a spark, such a vivid light. He hoped to have that for himself one day.
 .oOo.
Looking at the capital from such a distance sent inexplicable chills down Azula’s spine. It was glamourous, gorgeous, and splendid. The brilliance of lantern and fire light poured over the rim of the volcano and glowed against the skyline. It must fill the people of the Ash Pit with such an oppressive longing. Somewhere within she felt a pang of guilt and was thankful to have it interrupted. The city spat out a shower of fireworks, reminding her that it was her birthday. Some people in the Fire Nation still liked to celebrate it, probably more so for the sake of throwing a party than to offer her any love. From where she sat, the fireworks seemed to arch over the palace. Its own light was so radiant it may as well be a nation of its own.
Again, Azula felt chills. Seeing the palace from the Ash Pit was like looking at her life from an alternate reality. One where she had been born with nothing. Somehow it became hard for her to see herself back within the palace walls.
It rattled her more that, that didn’t bother her.
The princess took a slow drag from her kiseru, watching more stars pop into the night one by one. Perhaps if she ignored the scents and the distant profane voices, she could pretend that this was a pleasant place full of ordinary people. She leaned back on her arms, bending one knee and extending the other. Somehow, she felt at ease.
“Thinking of going home?” Chan plopped himself down next to her.
“No.” She replied, lifting her hand for another drag.
“I can escort you back if—” He broke off. “Wait, what?”
“No.” She repeated. “I’m not thinking of going home.”
Chan ran his hand over his face, she could see that she was causing him at least a trace amount of distress. “You can’t stay here.”
“You said that last night, yes.” She nodded.
“I mean it, Azula.” He hissed. “These aren’t your kind of people. You don’t belong here.”
 “And you do?”
 .oOo.
His hand was on her waist, his lips on her neck. His father didn’t exactly fancy seeing him with a disgraced princess. But Agni, she was a lovely thing. Especially when dressed in the showy and exotic silks of Ember Island with strings of golden pearls in her hair. His father was a hypocrite anyways, he knew that Chan had met her while in the institution himself. Her laugh delicate and charming, so refreshing to hear after listening to scream and cry herself out of wakefulness. He slipped his hand under her bangs and rubbed her ear. Her eyes only showed faint traces of her former imprisonment; being this close he could see faint bags beneath them, but they themselves glowed with life. She seemed happy and bright, he latched onto it, he needed such for himself. He kissed her neck again as his father looked on. Though the man didn’t invade, deciding that the princess may sort herself out and make a suitable wife for his son after all.
Chan held her quite tightly, until she demanded that he get her something to drink. It was always demands with her—no please, no thank you, just an expectation that things be done for her. Such was her disposition and he supposed that he would work with it. She never really had anyone to hold her close as he did, she told him as much. And he hadn’t had a real lover either. They were much the same in that regard, lovers only seemed to gush when they saw opulence. It was no surprise when she came to confess that she would have no lover from a lower class, she hadn’t the trust for it. Justified or not, he had to agree after being used a good many times. That’s what drove him over the edge in the first place, finding out that his girlfriend Jia and Ruon-Jian only got so close to get their hands on some riches. Having seen them tangled in the sheets made such astoundingly clear. He’d known Ruon-Jian all of his life, they had done the wildest of things together. It was all a ploy. He had leeched off of Chan for years and years and he’d done so without a fuck to give. That in itself drew him to the princess, who had been stabbed in the back by two of her closest companions. He wouldn’t hurt her like that, he knew better. And she would pay him the same respect.
So he would pander to her and make sure Ember Island felt like a second home to her.
He came back with her drink and she motioned for him to sit. He did so, allowing her to sit on his lap with her back held regally straight and her legs folded. His arms were back around her waist as she sipped her drink and spoke of her war-time endeavors in Ba Sing Se. They always intrigued him, she had been only a child and yet the world bent to her, she made it. He rested his head in the crook of her neck. To think, as she accomplished the grander things, he was throwing ridiculous parties. Her conversation took a turn and she was soon informing him that they had met once before and that she was the one who had trashed his party. She said it with such a degree of pride that he ought to have been offended. But the memory seemed to make her smile, so he laughed it off—in retrospect it was quite humorous to see his father in such disarray, even if it had earned him a swift lashing.
Those nights, those first few weeks free of the asylum had been the best. So truly joyful he could have never seen the fallout. Chan couldn’t be sure of what led to it—perhaps her happiness had been false the whole time, but she had snapped.
Snapped and lashed out and he took the brunt of it.
His father hadn’t even abused him to the extent she had. It made him furious to know that he was getting beat down by another person he had grown so close to. So that time he fought back, he let her know that she was rotten on the inside. He let her know that her status didn’t matter and he hit back. Even on that night, the look of regret in her eyes was notable. When she was fully lucid, that look was amplified to an unbearable extent. Chan could see it on her that she hadn’t meant to hurt him, he was willing to bet that she didn’t even remember much of what she’d done. So he invited her back into his home, offering to patch things up.
She didn’t come back.
Not until many years later.
Not until after his father decided once and for all that his ‘affliction’, as he called it, was an embarrassment to the family name and promised to lock him up for good.
Not until well after he had made a name for himself, far away in the Ash Pit.
  .oOo.
“What happened to you?” He asked.
Azula turned her eyes away from the skyline. “Hmm?”
“Is this my fault?” He asked.
“You’re going to have to be a little more specific.” She answered with a lazy sort of softness.
“Did I do this to you?” He tried again. Her lack of response prompted him to give it a third shot. “You were doing fine for a while.” He clarified, “after they let you out.”
“All you did was give me the drugs.”
“But why did you ask for them?” He asked.
“It has nothing to do with you.” She waved him off, wanting to have any conversation but that one. Of course it would have been easier to tell him that it was, in fact, all him—that he had driven her to it when breaking things off with her. Yet, she didn’t want to hurt him again, that was why she refused to accept his forgiveness. But she didn’t want to confess that she had never been okay to begin with, that she shouldn’t have been cleared in the first place.
He might have sensed her momentary despair, he was rather attentive like that, for he was offering her shoulders tentative rubs. She stole a look at the rest of the Nyūkirā, they were mostly engrossed in a slum adaption of pai sho and paying she and Chan no mind. “Does it really bother you so much to have me around?”
“It bothers me that you’re here, in this trashy place, when you should be in your palace with your servants.”
“You think I’m going to lead the Fire Nation guard right to your camp.”
“I guess that’s one reason.” He admitted.
“And the other?” She replied, setting a hand atop one of his.
“I got you involved with this and I want you out of it.” He replied.
It was refreshing to hear someone actively try to take blame from her, especially after so many rounds of the opposition. At the same time, it coaxed the truth into the light. “I came to you for the Ruby Tears.” It was plain and simple. As plain and simple as that she would keep coming to him for more until they wasted her away.
“And I gave them to you because I needed money.” He reiterated, feeling her grip on his hand tighten.  She turned to face him. He hadn’t changed much, even begin on the streets, the years had treated him kinder than they had treated her. It was rather apparent that he was only a dealer and had no wish to consume any of what he sold. The funding he got from it may not have been sufficient enough to give him a roof—not a legal one anyhow—but it kept him decently groomed and fed. He hadn’t the hollow and wasting look that she and Minho shared. Nor the malnourished look of Taeyul and Kohza.
“I don’t think that I would have let you refuse.” She insisted, just like that all of the problems she had pushed back since fleeing the palace came to the surface. She was supposed to be living again, she was supposed to be happy. Chan’s thumb was on her cheek, wiping away an unshed tear. It felt right to have his touch back on her skin, so she slipped her and under his shirt in a way she hadn’t in many years. She pushed herself closer and allowed him to return her gestures until her shirt was cast aside next to his. His lips longingly sucked the skin they had been deprived of for so long and her soul latched on to the affection it hadn’t seen in years.
For a while, Chan’s hands trailed up and down the length of her back as he supplied a generous amount of kisses to her neck, bringing back all of the sensations from their nights on Ember Island. Soon his touch moved from her back to her sides. He had to admit that it pained him to so prominently feel her ribcage as he ran his hands down, but she seemed content so he didn’t let it show. His touch fell beneath the waistband of her pants and with a soft hum of pleasure, she slid her tongue over his chest.
She paused, catching Minho’s eye. “I take it you’d like to join us?”
 He nodded feverishly.
With a tantalizing slowness, she curled her finger, beckoning him over. For as much as he ogled her earlier on, he seemed hesitant to make the first move. She wouldn’t make it for him, but she pulled away from Chan, exposing herself in full. “Come on then.”
Minho removed his own clothing first before tugging at her pants. Just as she had in days gone by, she sat in Chan’s lap, his hands brushing from her midriff to her chest with a slowness that suggested he feared that she was as fragile as she looked. His touch lingered atop her chest, offering her a euphoric massage as she offered her own talents to him. Minho took her as if he’d been deprived of her all of his life, with needy and rough speed. For that she preferred what he offered. His hands never left her hips and for the time being, she didn’t want them too.
“I missed you.” Chan whispered before giving her neck a careful nibble.
She tapped her fingers on his cheek, “I’ll bet you did.”
Maybe she it was the loneliness or the way it made her feel beautiful and wanted again. Or perhaps she was simply still decently buzzed. Whatever the reason, it felt so wonderful. Wonderful to have not just one, but two people holding her with unfathomable closeness. Two people lusting after her as if she were with chasing.
And late it the night it was wonderful to have someone lay next to her, tuck their arms under hers, and hold her. She didn’t expect Minho to do so, and she didn’t want him to, not at all. But Chan…she savored the warmth of his body pressed against her back.
Finally, she had a piece of her past.
A piece of the woman she was before her startling metamorphosis.

***** Lord of Shadows Spoilers
I just… all the fucking points to Cassandra Clare. This was definitely one of her best works. The Infernal Devices will always mend and break my heart time and time again, but The Dark Artifices is shaping up to be quite the story.
I love how the plot points are setting up what I hope is an epic end to the trilogy, how the plot is mirroring a lot of things that are very real issues in the real world around us. Kit mentioned it in the story, but Zara and the Cohort are literally repeating mundane history. To talk the politics of the story a little, the Inquisitor is dead. I’m sure Horace Dearborn or some other Cohort fascist is going to be clawing their way towards the position. Jia, the Consul, her alliance seems to be against the Cohort. I don’t know if she has any say in who is appointed Inquisitor, I don’t know if they are elected or what. But i’m hoping she can have some influence as far as who the next Inquisitor is. But also, it’s too good of a plot to pass up to put a member of the Cohort in such a position of power, which is what they’ve been haggling for. It’s too good of a plot to pass up the tyranny and corruption that would inevitably follow. There would most likely be another war, another shadowhunters vs shadowhunters in a different way, where they all are sound of mind and free of will. They are most likely going to be registering Downworlders, stripping them of their rights, oppressing them into submission, referring to them as ‘things’ as if they are objects to be owned and sold rather than living beings with hearts and souls and the ability to bleed.
And not to mention the Fair folk. What the fuck, is all I have to say. The Seelie Queen was in our story for fleeting moments, claiming she can stop the Unseelie King as he has been blighting the land so that shadowhunters cannot use their powers of angelic derivative, but only if she has the fuckin Black Volume, which, might I mention, was how the King was blighting he lands? He was getting the info from Malcolm, who had the damn Black Volume. It also seems as though Annabel Blackthorn is working with the Unseelie King. I don’t know how and I don’t know when, but I know that the way she treated the Blackthorns before the trial and the way she treated them after taking the Mortal Sword didn’t even seem like the same fucking person. Perhaps the Sword could’ve triggered her, memories of her torture by the Clave, sending her into a mode of pure survival. But she disappeared in a cloud of fuckin black smoke like… that’s some Unseelie King shit if i ever did hear of it. There is absolutely no way that the Seelie Queen is not malicious in intent when offering aid to the Shadowhunters against the King. No way. She’s too smart, she’s too honed in on survival and strategy, and she’s all too well known for her deceptive tendencies as we’ve seen in The Mortal Instruments. Idk man there’s just something going on there. They both want the black volume, the King is blighting the land and the Queen is offering aid even though she knows the Shadowhunters will be powerless. She isn’t that stupid. She would literally be fighting someone else’s war. She can’t lie, but I think she’s figured out how to skirt around the truth enough so that she can get what she wants precisely how she wants it. And the Unseelie King is fucking creepy ok like first of all chill dude but also… shit. Like, he’s playing at some evil shit. And I mean, it’s not like they don’t have a reason to hate the shadowhunters. They have a fucking reason and it’s called the cold peace. I’m just saying that i won’t be surprised when they start a war against the shadowhunters, all of faerie against the shadowhunters who are already at war against themselves. It’s the perfect plot. It’s a Cassandra Clare plot. It’s sinister and I want it SO BAD.
I haveve too many feelings bc Livvy’s last words were her twin’s name, and Ty felt it when she died and he was a crumpled heap of grief in the floor of the Hall, and Julian kept calling her his baby and asking her to please open her eyes as if she was just asleep. And Kit wasn’t even there but he told Livvy they were going to be friends forever and he doesn’t even know she’s dead and Mark was trying to help Ty, trying to get him off the floor, probably wanting to hold him or comfort him or perhaps have someone there to comfort him after the loss of the little sister he got back only weeks before. Helen, who had been exiled for years and hadn’t seen her siblings a single time, had just been reunited with them all moments before and now she’s watching her baby sister die. And Emma could feel Julian’s pain along with her own as he pleaded with Livvy to wake up. And Robert… oh my god. Robert, who had been revolted by his own parabatai confessing his love and thus working to deaden their bond, only to have Michael die without Robert knowing. Robert was going to help Julian and Emma because that’s what Michael would’ve wanted him to do, because maybe he can somehow right a wrong that he could never forgive himself for. Robert Lightwood, who went to Annabel to free her from the scrutiny of the Mortal Sword only to be stabbed to death by a terrified girl who’d been brought back to life mere days before testifying amongst the people who had tortured and murdered her. Robert Lightwood, who lay dead in the Hall as his son stood over him grieving, saying “dad, please, dad”.

Adrien and Kagami‘s friends from the university sat all together around the dinner table in the Agreste manor learning together while each of them had a different drink on their place to take it to them while studying.
„I didn‘t have time to watch all the seasons yet, but after she got a new body, she went all gangster with all those villains and supporting characters, “ Ettore said to Rory, which nodded along with Adrien.
„Must have been great, I‘ve been so tired yesterday I‘ve fallen asleep soon“ Adrien mentioned making Rory chuckle.
„On a Saturday?“ The brown-haired man asked earning a nod from the blonde.
„Yeah, what‘s wrong about it?“ Adrien asked, then Rory looked at Kagami, which was looking into the book of Jara, where she explained her something from it.
„Kagami, why was your boyfriend so tired yesterday?“ The brunette asked making Kagami shrug her shoulders.
„I don‘t know, I think he didn‘t sleep well so far I remember“
„Oh okay“ The man answered.
„I had a bad dream, but I barely remember, what happened“
„At least it‘s not haunting you“ Jin pointed out earning a nod from Jara and Ettore. „I had a point during my teenhood, where I was haunted by my late father-in-law, which wanted to kill me for marrying his daughter“
„During your teenhood?“ Ettore asked interested.
„Yeah, we started dating when she was 17 and I 19. In my dreams, he wanted to kill me, cause I was older than her. I think there was more, but I barely remember“
„Maybe he also haunted you, because you didn‘t ask her father for her hand?“ Kagami mentioned, then made Jin laugh along with Jara, afterward, she joined while the rest watched them laugh. Adrien chuckled, then looked back to his book and looked up at his girlfriend, then Jin took out his smartphone and looked up for something and showed it to Kagami making her smile, then Jin swiped on his smartphone making the girl smile lovely.
Adrien raised his left eyebrow up wondering, what the raven-haired man showed his girlfriend on the smartphone, afterward the two started to laugh and Adrien shook his head, then looked down at his book trying to focus on his task.
„Wanna see, what I bought?“ Jin asked and swiped on his smartphone to show Adrien‘s girlfriend another image. „Tada!“
„Oh wow and you‘ve got it in Mandarin too“ Kagami pointed out. „Jia means beautiful, right?“
„Yeah“ Jin answered.
Adrien tapped on Rory‘s shoulder, which glanced up at the blonde waiting for him to speak to him.
„How high is the chance, that uhm…..a friend of a certain friends‘ circle falls in love with one of the same circle?“ Asked Adrien making the friend twitch his eyebrows in confusion.
„Why are you asking that?“
„Just….out of curiosity“ Adrien answered a little dishonest, making the man shake his head.
„Hey I know it feels strange to see your girlfriend in a group full of guys, but I don‘t think anyone here would fall in love with her or Jara, We‘re all in a relationship and most of us are longer than two years. We‘ve all been friends for what?…..Four to five years?“
„Yeah I…..sorry. This question is just silly“ Adrien mentioned looking down at his book again, then Rory looked to the other side, where Jin typed down something on his smartphone, then showed it to Kagami, which nodded.
„You know I just feel weird about it, but I don‘t often see him talk that much with Kagami“
„Are you jealous of your friend?“ Rory asked. „He‘s like your best friend“
„I don‘t know, I had seen something strange in my…...dream….some sort of vision you know and I had seen them together, but I don‘t remember, what they were doing I just remember seeing him hold her hand“
„Oh, that‘s just bells and whistles. Some dreams can ruin your mind a lot once in a while“ Rory confirmed. „Trust me, Kagami is too decent to even think of that and Jin….yeah he wasn‘t quite a correct boy in the past, but everyone can learn from their mistakes. Jin is one of those persons,“
„Thanks now I feel much better“ Adrien complained.
„See…...hey forget that, man. He‘s a family man now and you‘ve seen it with your own eyes the other month. He only has eyes for his son and his wife, otherwise, everyone, that tried to pick him up, he gave them the cold shoulder“
„Right...“ Adrien agreed placing his arms over his books and drop his head over the arms.
„Hey, why don‘t you get out to get some fresh air?“ Rory suggested. „Let the air clear your mind and afterward we can continue if you want“
„I‘m not staying the whole Sunday in here, Rory“ Ettore pointed out earning a nod from the friend.
„Sure you don‘t have to, I just suggested it“
„Maybe we should stop?“ Jara asked earning a nod from Jin, Kagami and Ettore.
„We already were distracted so why not, “ Jin said getting up from the chair along with the girls, then the group walked out at the hall of the entrance and Adrien walked at the door opening it, then behind him appeared Kagami and grabbed him on his jacket and the blonde looked back at her, seeing her take her hand down.
„Where are you going?“ The blue-haired woman asked.
„Getting fresh air“ Adrien answered earning a nod from the girl. „There‘s so much going on in my head right now“
„Don‘t you want to talk about it?“ Kagami asked making Adrien shrug his shoulders.
„Maybe later“ Adrien answered, then Kagami‘s smartphone rang and she picked it up.
„It‘s my mother“ Kagami mentioned attending the phonecall, then Adrien left the manor and Kagami furrowed her eyebrows as no one spoke on the smartphone. „Mother? Mother?…..huh?“ Kagami took her smartphone away from her ear to see it said, that the connection was lost, then Kagami searched on her smartphone for the call and Jin stood behind her watching her trying to call her mother again, then she took her phone down as the phone didn‘t make a call sound. „Strange“
„Maybe there‘s no service, wherever she is at the moment“ Jin mentioned earning a nod from the woman.
„I‘ll try it later“ Kagami stated earning a nod from the Chinese man. „Are you coming?“
„Sure, I‘ll be glad to assist you, “ Jin said walking along with the woman the stairs up of the Agreste manor.
Nathaniel and Lila were together at the Grevin Museum walking along the corridor of the building passing by wax figures of a popular French cartoon, which was almost two decades old.
„How come, that we only were here to let them make our waxwork, but never ever came to see them?“ Nathaniel mentioned making Lila shrug her shoulders.
„I just remembered it, because I saw on the journal from last week the new section for FantasyWork‘s villains,“ Lila mentioned. „What show is this again?“
„Code Udanax“ Nathaniel responded. „Remember that one Evolution version, that gave you Doctor What vibes?“
„Yeah“
„This is the original, but the evolution one is messed up with bad acting,“
„Okay“ Lila commented entering along with her husband into a corridor with a stairway and an elevator listed with the levels and its exhibitions, afterward Nathaniel pressed on the button of the elevator and the two entered into the elevator as it opened its door, then they went up on it to the fourth floor.
„Hey imagine taking a selfie as Miss Vixen with Wax-Miss Vixen“ Nathaniel stated making Lila chuckle.
„What about one Super Nathan taking a picture with two Miss Vixen‘s?“
„That sounds better“ Nathaniel agreed making the woman smile, then the couple left the elevator walking along the corridor, then entered into the hall of the miraculous superheroes seeing in the middle of the octagonal-shaped room nine different superheroes all standing together in different action poses,
„Funny how Luka and Kagami have both their alter egos here“ Lila mentioned looking at the two similar heroines, Lady Red and Ryuko.
„Well, Swift and Lady Red were present for a good space of time. They deserve to be here too“
„We all do“ Nathaniel agreed looking at his alter ego wax figure, which looked very confident. „Do you sometimes look at your alter ego and think…..how can this person there be me?“ The redhead asked earning a nod from the brunette.
„I‘m more of how can people like me knowing she is the real me“
„Okay that too“
„Those times were great. It was exhausting with the hiding, the homework we still had to do, splitting up encounters and coming up with lies“
„The latter one you could handle it without any problem, unlike me“
„I admit it, I did most of the times except it was strange with Kagami, cause she knew about how easily I felt back into lying“
„When did you tell her about your secret identity?“ The German asked. „I don‘t remember you mentioning that“
„After we took care of a problem I destransformed back into me in the restrooms and Kagami just plumped in as I did so“
„Oh“ Nathaniel replied at the response. „Mine still kills everyone‘s accidental reveals“
„Oh yes, Alix…..I don‘t know, what would be worse on that case“
„Thank god she didn‘t get akumatized on that point“ Nathaniel stated earning a nod from his wife. „That would be horrible“
„Yeah“ Lila agreed, then remembered the day she got akumatized and trapped Nathaniel along with her two other friends, then she covered her face, starting to sob, calling Nathaniel‘s attention.
„You‘re okay, pumpkin?“ The man asked, then she leaned her face on his shoulder to cry, then Nathaniel confused about it placed his hand behind her back to comfort her. „Did you think about, what if she got akumatized moment?“
„No…….When I trapped you during my time as Volpina“ „Right…..it‘s in the past Lila. I didn‘t even remember this happened“
„But I still haven‘t forgotten “
„Shh come on Lil, I didn‘t get hurt on that day, no one died beside Adrien, but he got resurrected in the end…..by the way, we took Monarch and Le Paon down and there‘s no way, they‘re ever coming back again as long as the miraculouses are safe, where they are“ „I‘m still sorry about, what happened back there“
„No need to apologize. Everything is on its best now,“ Nathaniel assured. „Why don‘t we take a look at the akumatized villains‘ wax figure?“
„Why?“
„Maybe it could make you feel better?“ Nathaniel answered unsure about if it would make things worse.
„Okay, I try“ Lila answered, then got accompanied by the husband to go to the back of the room, where in front of the wall on the position stood in the first row the villains Stormy Weather, Bubbler, Lady Wifi and Reflekta.
„I actually wonder, what that red centaur-like horse akuma-thing that is, “ Nathaniel said pointing at a red-colored horse with the upper body of a person. „Was that Oni-Chan?“
„Nope, that‘s Ikari Gozen I think“ Lila answered. „That‘s what Kagami‘s mother was akumatized into“
„Woah…..and what did she do? Fencing?“
„Her mother or Kagami?“
„Kagami“ „She was supposed to be home and she wasn‘t,“ Lila answered. „She got angry as Marinette tried to assure her Kagami was fine and the next thing, that happened was her mother jumping from the other side of Paris to eat her and lock her inside of her giant body.“ „This gives self-isolation a new meaning“
„More like house-arrest…..except, this was more of a car….arrest“ Lila corrected earning a nod from Nathaniel.
„Oh, then that is Oni-Chan. The one with the weird hair-do“ Nathaniel asked earning a nod from the wife, then walked along with her at the two figures to check them out.
Adrien and Raiden sat together in front of Adrien‘s computer playing together a video game against other concurrents online.
„I rarely study in groups, cause we end up distracting each other with daily conversations, “ Raiden said. „Otherwise at the school, we had to“
„So you work better all on your own, than with other people around you?“ Adrien asked earning a nod from the raven-haired man.
„I don‘t mind being together with people it‘s just…..I don‘t know, I just can‘t work together with people,“
„We don‘t have a lot of problems working with each other. We do once in a while talk about off-topics, but we end up going back to the studying or we just do a small break,“
„At least it works“
„Indeed“
„Where‘s Kagami?“ Raiden asked. „Is she out?“
„Maman said, she went to see her mom“ Adrien answered. „She called for some reason. I left the house to get some fresh air as she received the call“
„What happened?“
„What do you mean?“ Adrien asked bewildered at the raven-haired man‘s question.
„I thought by getting some fresh air you meant something else“
„Well not really. I had a….. weird dream, where I saw Kagami along with my friend Jin here and he was holding her hand there on our bed as if he was going to kiss her in someway“
„And did something happen?“ Raiden asked making Adrien shake his head.
„Well.....Someone in my dream blocked my sight“ Adrien made up making Raiden laugh.
„That‘s one weird dream. Was there something, that could have caused you that dream?“ The man asked making the blonde shrug his shoulders. „Do you think that there is something with your and Kagami‘s relationship? A secret, a feeling or so?“
„I don‘t know, I‘ve been feeling since this dream a little paranoid and Rory thinks like that too. I‘ve been feeling slightly jealous of Jin, just because he and Kagami were getting along very well. Usually, they don‘t talk that much together and I don‘t know if it was only today, that I noticed it or not they were more talkative than usual“ „Must just be your mind, Adrien. I don‘t think Kagami would ever betray someone she loves, mostly after so many years of a fast relationship,“
„I guess you‘re right“ Adrien agreed, then he clenched his teeth as he crashed with his car towards a bus, followed by another car and the remaining racers passed beside the accident stealing Adrien the lead. „I‘m dead“
„Maybe I can save us“ Raiden pointed out earning a nod from Adrien, which got up and walked at the bathroom.
„I‘ll be right back, “ Adrien said entering into the room locking the door behind him and Raiden looked at the door, then got up from the chair and walked at the bed of Adrien, then slowly opened the first drawer of the shelf to encounter all of Adrien‘s underwear nicely sorted after the weekdays in there and Raiden carefully rifled through them and closed it again, then closed the drawer and opened the next drawer to find a notebook with Japanese kanji along with a few pens, a power bank, two chargers, a tissue pack set and a small box with a white cross on a red background and Raiden picked it out to see it was a watch box, then Raiden shook the box hearing something in it and he opened the box to be surprised with something in there, that isn‘t pictured on the box.
„Huh?“ He mumbled then took out a small square-formed sac out and he looked around it to recognize, what it was. „Ultra finissimo? Raiden read, then he chuckled at his discovery. „I can‘t believe he actually sleeps with Kagami“ Raiden implied rolling his eyes at that thought, after that he widened his eyes as he had figured out an idea, then he ripped the upper part of the packaging out and wrapped up the contraceptive on the ground next to the bed and looked back at the door of the bathroom getting open, shrieking Raiden, which went down on his legs to look at the globe pretending to be looking for something. Adrien came back to the Japanese descendant man and got his attention, which smiled and got up on his feet.
„Hey I was looking for that small country in Europe no one can find“ Raiden made up, making Adrien roll his eyes down at the blue ball.
„You mean Liechtenstein?“ Adrien asked earning a nod from the man. „Here it is“ Adrien pointed out looking over the globe passing with his hand over France levitating his finger over the country Switzerland and stopped on a small point, which had the letters FL on it.
„Ah, there it is“ Raiden answered. „It‘s really small I barely see it at first glance“
„I know that“ Adrien confessed, then rolled his globe to check out the other countries, then Raiden smirked at the start of his idea and removed his feet from the brown-colored contraceptive and stepped on it again, afterward he took his feet away and faked a shocked face.
„Oh wow you two really like to show off, that you two had a wild night together“ Raiden began, making Adrien furrow his eyebrows in confusion.
„What are you talking about?“ Adrien asked the man, then saw Raiden point down at the ground and Adrien glanced over the shelf to see the condom on the floor and widened his eyes in confusion. „Erm that wasn‘t there and I remember well, that I threw the last one away…...wait a second…..but….no…..are you telling me that, what I saw was real?“ Adrien gasped, making Raiden shrug his shoulders.
„I know there are dreams, that somehow happen in real life, but…..I can‘t really imagine Kagami doing this to you, mostly after all these years“ „But….what is that condom doing there?…..I can‘t believe this is actually happening“ Adrien wailed passing his hands through his head. „It doesn‘t make any sense…...“
„Yes, why would they do it in your house most of all“ Raiden mentioned, observing Adrien walk towards the couch hurt by his thoughts, while Raiden observed Adrien getting into despair and he smirked as his idea seemed to work out in causing the blonde mistrust towards his girlfriend. „It‘s also weird though…..how could this happen today, if you were home with all the guys?“ Questioned the Japanese descendant man looking at Adrien, which had his head dropped down disappointed. „You….were here the whole day, how could you miss that…..unless….when did you leave again?“
„I……...“ Adrien began, then shut open his eyes as he figured out, what could have happened. „When I left…..before I left she asked my friend Jin if he would come after the phonecall …..and…...that‘s when it must have happened. That‘s the only solution!“
„Well, this could also be a little too far-fetched. Maybe there could be something else“ Raiden pretended to try to convince Adrien about the situation, then Adrien walked towards the Japanese man.
„You‘re my witness. Leave that there like you found it and just in case…..“Adrien took out his smartphone and took a picture of the condom on the floor, then stored his smartphone back in his pants‘ pocket. „Your shoes are on it, they‘ll see, that there‘s a witness on it“
„Uh…..okay….but where are you going?“
„I‘m going to make things clear with Jin“ Adrien warned. „To my luck, he‘s a bad liar, if he needs to come up with some“ Adrien said walking away heading to the exit, then from his jacket his kwami looked up at his holder with a frown on his face .
„You must be crazy Adrien, there‘s no way Kagami or Jin would stab you in the back like that“ „You saw, what Raiden found there on the ground, I know, that last time after I and Kagami had sex I threw it away“
„But you don‘t even know if it‘s used“
„Come on Plagg, it‘s obviously used, otherwise it wouldn‘t be open“
„Ugh do whatever you want“ Plagg barked, then got back into the pocket of his human friend. „But don‘t blame me for not having warned you“

Chapter 9
After dinner, while Ye Hua was preparing for A-Li to go to bed, I sneak out to the cave where Shifu was.
“Shifu.. please forgive Seventeen. Remember I told you about Ye Hua? The man that I married when I was a mortal? He’s here with A-Li to stay. But since the Celestial Tribe has been looking for you for the past 70,000 years, I’ll have to seal this cave for a while..”
I stared at Shifu. The more I look at him, the more I feel there is a connection between him and Ye Hua.
“It’s not that I don’t trust Ye Hua. But there are so many issues we have to settle between us. Shifu, I wish you were back so you can tell me what to do..”
With a final bow to Shifu, I sealed the cave.
“Qian Qian” - Ye Hua called me when I arrived back to the Fox Den.
“Ye Hua? You are not asleep?”
“A-Li has gone to sleep, so I came to look for you for a game of chess”
I’m sorry you had to be his dad and mom for this 300 years, Ye Hua.
“Chess? You’re in the mood to play?”
Ye Hua nodded.
I don’t remember how many rounds we had played but I was getting very sleepy. I woke up with a stiff neck and realized I fell asleep on the chess table. Ye Hua is no where to be seen.
Ugh that guy.
Mi Qu came into Ye Hua’s newly study room (4th Brother’s old room) with Jia Yun and Tian Shu.
I stood up, pretending not to know them.
“Who are you looking for?” - I asked.
“Aunt, this is Crown Prince’s civil officer, Star Lord Jia Yun” - Mi Qu said, pointing to Jia Yun who was carrying a bunch of documents.
“And this is Crown Prince’s military officer, Star Lord Tian Shu” - he added.
“Aunt” - Tian Shu greeted.
“Aunt, His Highness gave orders yesterday to send all official reports to here from now on” - Jia Yun explained.
“Send official reports?”
“Ah, rest assured Aunt. I will only be here once a day in the morning to collect the ones from yesterday and deliver the ones that’s waiting for instructions” - Jia Yun said.
I turned and looked at Tian Shu. “And you..?”
“Aunt rest assured. I’m only here to protect the Crown Prince and the young prince. I will not disturb you and His Highness. I will make my greetings then disappear from your sight. Without His Highness’s permission, you absolutely will not see me”
“Oh..”. That’s all I could say.
“We will take our leave now, Aunt” - Jia Yun and Tian Shu said together and left.
“Mi Qu, I’m going outside to get some fresh air. In a while, bring a pot of tea to the pavilion for me” - I said to him and walked out.
“Yes, Aunt. I’ll bring it to you” - Mi Qu bow.
After a long walk, Mi Qu greeted me at the pavilion.
“Aunt, I’ve prepared your tea” - he said while pointing to the table. “Also, His Highness is back. He’s in his study looking over his reports”
“Ok. I’ll just take a rest here then”
Not long after, there was a loud commotion not far from the pavilion. I got up, curious, and saw Mi Qu smirking at someone being chased away by the villagers.
“Mi Qu, what was that all about?”
“Aunt, Consort Su Jin from the Celestial Palace send someone to urge the Crown Prince to return to the palace”
“Consort Su Jin?”. That person again. Don’t she have anything better to do?
“Why did the villagers chased that person away?”
“She said some unpleasant things. She said you and the Crown Prince had not been wed in ceremony yet but are together all day and lie with each other and it is an unacceptable behavior”
Ha! If only you know the real story, Su Jin. I’ve yet to settle some score with you and here you are trying your luck again?
“She also said that even Heavenly Lord did not acted this way in the past. When the crowd heard that, they got furious and drove her away”
Hmm. “I understand”. I got up. Let’s see what Ye Hua got to say about this.
When I got to the study, Ye Hua was busy drawing.
“That’s a nice painting” - I said to him. He said nothing.
“Er.. Your side consort send someone here just now to ask you to return back to the palace. She also said some unpleasant things”
He looked outrage. “What is it?” - he asked in a cold tone.
I looked away from him. “She said, you and I have not been wed in ceremony but are together all day and lie with each other. Although what she said is not true but..”
He cut me off. “I wanted to live here, so I came to live here” - he said, sounded angry. “All in all, you are my wife. Why do we have to care about other people?” - he asked.
Not a good idea to get him angry.
“Oh, the palace maid also said, you brought Princess Miao Qing to the Celestial Palace”
“Yes” - he answered, sounding softer now. “Qian Qian, take a seat” - he added.
Is it that serious that I needed to seat? You’ve decided to take her as your side consort too? I sat down on his bed and prepared my heart.
“Why don’t you lie down and choose a comfortable position?”
“Huh?”
“Raise your head and face me. Have a smile on your face”
I just did what he told me to. He looks like he’s going to draw a painting of me.
“Very good”
How come this Crown Prince has such mood swings? One moment he as a cold and angry expression, then in the next he has a pleasant smile.
“That Miao Qing was insistent of not marrying the 2nd Prince of West Sea. But she had saved A-Li life once. So I allowed her to go to the Celestial Palace to be a maid”
Wow. Since when you learned how to tell me the truth about something? This is new.
“When she has thought things through, she will eventually leave on her own” - he added.
Ye Hua, Ye Hua. Do you think it’s that easy as you think?
“Actually, that 2nd Prince is not that bad..”
He turned around and looked at me. “Do you know him?”
There he goes again. “I don’t know him. I only heard about him from 4th Brother”. I hope he won’t suspect anything.
“Qian Qian, is there anything else you want to tell me?” - he suddenly asked.
Errr.. yes and no? What you want me to tell you?
I had to make an excuse. “There is one thing..”
“Go ahead”
“My.. my hand is getting numb. Can.. can I change position?” - I asked sheepishly.
He smiled. “As you wish”
I lay down on the pillow and stared at him while he draws. In the end, I fell asleep.
********************
Over the next few days were like a routine to me. I sometimes sit with Ye Hua while he goes over his reports. Sometimes he insist of going for a walk with me. Some days he wants to play chess. But today was raining and I found out from Mi Qu that Ye Hua went back to Nine Heavens for a while.
Pacing around in my room enjoying the rain when Ye Hua appeared with A-Li.
“Er.. Lord Ye Hua. I wonder which Water King is casting rain today. It’s a nice day to stay inside the Fox Den” - I suggested.
A-Li ran over. “Father said he’s taking us to play in the mortal world today”
“Fortunately it’s not raining in the mortal world today” - Ye Hua said.
“Ah, you both are going to the mortal world to play? You should find a earth deity to guide you”. Ah, I’m just too lazy to go out today.
“Mother, I would like you to come” - A-Li begged swinging my hand with puppy eyes.
I looked at Ye Hua. He smiled. Family trip huh? I sighed.
“Wait for me to get changed, all right?”
This is probably the longest ever I took to get changed. It was also nice to have my husband and son waiting for me. For once I’m getting used to having them around especially Ye Hua. Over the last few days, I’ve also decided to find the right time to talk to him about everything.. and maybe.. maybe we can pick up from where we left off.
A-Li was the happiest running around the mortal town getting whatever he likes. I’m also surprised that Ye Hua is not stopping him at all.
“How come you are in the mood to come to the mortal world today?” - I asked Ye Hua while A-Li is waiting for his peanuts to be packed. “ Didn’t Jia Yun brought over a large pile of reports yesterday? Judging from his expression, looks like the report isn’t any trivial matter”
Ye Hua just smiled at me. “Today is A-Li’s birthday” - he whispers to me.
A-Li’s birthday is not till next month, Ye Hua. But I did not say anything.
“Let’s go have lunch” - Ye Hua suggested.
I just nodded.
Half way during lunch, Jia Yun appeared. “Your Highness. Aunt” - he greeted. “Deities from all around the world has arrived for Heavenly Lord’s birthday celebration. 2nd Prince Die Feng of West Sea arrived at the Celestial Palace and came to Zichen Hall soon after. He said he has urgent matters to discuss with Your Highness. I dare not delay, so I came to search for Your Highness”
Ye Hua turned to me with a trouble look. “Keep A-Li company. I’ll have to return the the Celestial Palace. I’ll come back to look for you in the evening”
“All right”. So much for a family trip. But he got to do what he got to do. Bai Qian, if you want to be with him again, you got to get used to it.
After lunch, I took A-Li for some sightseeing before ending up at a tea house to watch some play to past time. It was almost evening. Ye Hua should be back sometime soon.
“It should take a cup of tea for your father in heavens while night will fall upon us in the mortal world” - I said to A-Li while pouring myself a cup of tea. “Let’s sit here and wait for him”
A-Li agreed while munching on watermelon seeds.

Chapter 3
A-Li wondered about in the forest. I tried my best to keep an eye for him, but because Tian Shu was around, I had to keep a distance. In the end, not only I was lost in this oh-so-familiar-forest, A-Li was lost too. “Tian Shu, Tian Shu. You are so dead. What will Ye Hua says later?” - I shake my head in disbelieve. Tian Shu was supposed to be the best bodyguard in the Nine Heavens. It’s either he’s been slacking for the past 300 years or my son seriously took my trait of getting lost easily. I shock my head again. “This is crazy” - I said to myself.
Suddenly, I heard a scream. “Help me! Someone help me!” It’s A-Li’s voice! I rushed as fast as I could to the voice. As I approached, I saw this ugly looking monster chasing after A-Li. I was so furious that I took out my Kulun fan when someone beat me to chased the beast away. I backtracked a little to make sure the monster won’t come back again. “As long as A-Li is safe” - I comfort myself. “Who is this lady?” - I wondered as I followed them back to the hut.
Back in the hut, Ye Hua rushed out with Tian Shu and Jia Yun in tow. His face showed that he was all worried but he did not say much to A-Li. Then he turned around to thank A-Li’s savior.
“Thank you for saving A-Li. How can I address you?” - Ye Hua asked her.
“I’m Princess Miao Qing, the younger sister of Water King of the Eastern Sea” - she smiled at Ye Hua. “I just happened to pass by when I heard someone calling for help” - she added with another smile.
Ye Hua thank her again and asked if she have any wish for anything to repay her kindness. I rolled my eyes. That sentence sounds oddly familiar.
“I.. I would like to.. to say by your side..” - she said shyly.
“Huh?” - Ye Hua asked, confused.
Miao Qing quicky corrected her sentence. “I would like to serve Your Highness not as a consort. Just as a maid here to clean, wash and cook for you when you come to this hut”.
“Princess Miao Qing, this is really not necessary. You are a princess. There is no need for you to be a maid here”
“Please Your Highness, just grant Miao Qing this wish..”
Knowing Ye Hua, he gave in to her request. “Ten days” - he said. “Only for ten days and you’ll have to leave” - he added.
I slump back down to my hideout. 10 days. SERIOUSLY Ye Hua? Have you NOT heard rumors going around the 4 seas and 8 realms? What have been your aid doing all these years? All of the 4 seas and 8 realms knows about how Princess Miao Qing of Eastern Sea is so in love with the Celestial Tribe Crown Prince even tho she have not met him in person before. She went around the 4 seas claiming that she will one day marry the Crown Prince.. Seems like she’s hitting the jackpot now.
As I was trying to take a nap, I heard A-Li’s shout and cries from the hut. I looked up and saw my poor son running out of the hut sobbing badly. I followed him with a distance again, since Tian Shu and Jia Yun were chasing after him. From a distance, I heard the conversation of Ye Hua’s aids.
“Why is Little Prince crying?” - asked Tian Shu, looking worried.
“Oh, have you not heard?” - Jia Yun turn around. “The Soul Searching Lamp was extinguish earlier”
“Soul Searching Lamp?” - I wondered.
Tian Shu was shocked with the news. “Who would do that? That’s His Highness’s life!”
“The lamp is Ye Hua’s life? What is he talking about?”
“I heard from the palace maid that Princess Bai Feng Qiu of Qing Qiu stole the lamp. She disgusted herself as Consort Su Jin and took the lamp from His Highness study. That’s why he went back to confront Consort Su Jin just now” - Jia Yun explained while keeping an eye on A-Li.
“And..?” - Tian Shu asked, disbelieve.
“His Highness almost killed Consort Su Jin like he did 300 years ago..” - Jia Yun’s voice trail away..
The news shocked me. Ye Hua tried to kill Su Jin 300 years ago? For what reason? As far as I can remember, Ye Hua was suppose to be so in love with Su Jin that he took me as a replacement.. What’s going on?!
