Well, it's been about a year and my blog has grown a lot. So I figured I was overdue for a new intro.

欢迎回到啊！I'm Julz or 朱朱 and I've been self-studying Chinese since May 2020. I'm currently studying HSK5 level, and I've been here on langblr since August 2021.

皆さん　こんにちは！I recently hit a follower milestone and figured that it was time to reintroduce myself, as it's been quite a while, and I don't really have much information about me easily accessible on my blog. Additionally, I'd like to actually write stuff down about how this blog is organized. じゃあ、始めましょう！

Hi, my name is Nobody (they/them), my native language is English, and I like studying languages! Languages have interested me ever since I was a child, but I feel like I never knew how to properly learn a language until I started studying Japanese in 2020. Now, I also study Mandarin Chinese and German! Japanese is my main target language, and I would some day like to make Japanese my primary language. Yes, that means I'm interested in moving to Japan long-term.

Immersion is my favorite way to study, but as of right now, most of my immersion has been done in Japanese. Please tell me what you're reading or watching, or ask me what I'm reading or watching! I especially love talking about books and manga and would be more than willing to share recommendations!

Outside of language learning, my hobbies include horseback riding, gardening, and reading (in English). I also have a degree in music performance, but I don't really consider that to be a hobby since it's something I'm actively pursuing as a career.

As for my blog, I keep it mostly Japanese focused, mainly because I made this blog when I was only studying Japanese, but my other languages do show up once in a while, and much of the content I post/reblog isn't tied to a single language. Here are the tags I frequently use to organize my blog and what they all mean:

#benkyou posting - these are my own posts! These are usually tagged with at least one of the other tags, as this tag just denotes that I was the one who made it, not necessarily the content that it contains.

#languages - these are posts that are typically tied to a specific language or the specific study of languages. Resources for learning languages will also show up here.

#tips - these posts are general studying tips and may not be specifically about language learning, but are applicable to the study of languages.

#study - these posts are aesthetic posts of peoples' notes and study spaces.

#inspo - these posts are inspirational posts, for when you might have a bit of trouble getting into the study mood.

#art - this is just for Japanese art! Usually, it'll be traditional arts and I must admit that I'm a sucker for woodblock prints. If I reblog any sort of Japanese fashion (think more kimonos), it'll also show up here.

#culture - these are posts about the cultural aspects of Japan, such as explanations of festivals and the such.

#aesthetic - these are just beautiful photos of Japan, mostly temples. Again, these are just photos I like, and I really like shrines and castles (once someone called me a "temple weeb" and I'm still laughing about it).

#memes - this tag is for anything fun! Memes aren't the only thing that go in here- things such as polls and silly text posts will also show up here.

Things that I don't post or reblog include vocabulary lists and grammar explanations. I have nothing against them, I just don't particularly use them on tumblr and therefore find no reason to put them on my own blog. I've made a few vocabulary lists in the past, but have found that it's just not for me! Remember that language learning is a deeply personal journey and what works for you might not work for me and vice verse. Just because these things aren't particularly what I look for out of langblr content doesn't mean that they're not important to other people, but I would like to be clear about what shows up (and doesn't!) on my blog.

So welcome to my blog! I hope you choose to stick around a while! And for those who don't know Japanese, my blog name means "studying and lunch boxes."

¡Hola! Since I started a new language journey, I decided to change my image and do a reintroduction!

Relevant info about me:

Aciir is the name I go by on the internet

(Mexican) Spanish is my native language

I’m in my last semester of my degree (pedagogy)

Languages:

I got certified in English level B2 at the end of highschool, but I guess now I’m C1.

I'm currently learning German because I'd like to live and work in Germany or some other country that speaks that language in the future. I'm still on level A0.

I think I’m level A2 transitioning to B1 in Brazilian Portuguese.

LSM (Mexican Sign Language) is something I really want to study but I always find excuses.

I’m interested in minority languages and I also think conlangs are very cool :))

Interests and hobbies:

LINGUISTICS!!! This is something I’ve always loved but never realized until I was in college. And don’t get me wrong, I love my degree and don’t plan to change it, but when I finish, studying linguistics or smth related is definitely a possibility! (ipaaciir comes from IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) and my internet name)

History and anthropology. This is a passion I developed during my first year of college and it’s a class I would love to teach.

I also enjoy embroidery and sewing.

Podcasts. I haven't listened to many episodes this past year but I hope I can this year. Some of my favorites are Lingthusiasm, Field Notes, Linguistics Everyday, Life on Side B, Hablemos Arte, and The Cult of Pedagogy.

Arts and design. I actually wanted to study graphic design before I realized I like education way more.

Job:

I currently work as an online private English teacher. It has helped me a lot to improve my skills and get better at teaching languages.

I want to study a diploma course in the teaching of Spanish as a second language. This is because I want to work as a Spanish teacher here in my country or abroad.

Slowly preparing for an actual job. My goal is to get one in my field by the end of the year.

Reintroduction to Studyblr!

Last year, I graduated from University with a degree in English Literature. I got a job as a teacher, moved to the other side of the planet (🇰🇷👋) and then decided that I was so bored and yearning for more knowledge that I need to start studying again.

So I've been reading a lot of books, because the motivation post-uni has been crazy, and I've started more seriously studying Korean. My goal for the end of 2023 is to finish all ten levels of TTMIK. I'm currently on level 4 about to start level 5! You can find out more about my other goals in my Instagram page.

Re-introduction

Hi! It’s Kopi here and I think it’s about time that I did a reintroduction ^^’. I’ve had this account for about three years, and I think I’ve changed a bit during this time period. 

Some personal info:

I am 18 years old

I use they/them pronouns

I am a first year in college

My major right now is undeclared, but I am working on switching to business economics

If you are curious, I am 5ft 2.5″ (~159 cm)

My home base is in California, USA

I was born in the Philippines and immigrated here when I was young. 

Experience/Hobbies:

I have been studying French for four years. I started in 9th grade.

I have been studying Korean on/off for four years, I also started in 9th grade but am finally able to put my focus towards it this year. 

No, I was not taught how to speak Tagalog because my parents wanted me to have perfect English (no, my English is not perfect, I think it’s pretty bad) I do know some Tagalog where I can listen to a conversation but I can only respond in English.

I really like coffee for its taste, not the caffeine

I enjoy listening to Kpop, khip-hop, krnb, pop, etc. 

I have some experience subtitling videos on youtube (but stopped doing so because youtube removed the option for community captions :<)

I also enjoy anime. Some notable ones for me are One Piece (currently watching), Haikyuu, I hate being in pain so I maxed out my defense build, and kaguya-sama: love is war. 

I hope you enjoyed reading this updated introduction! I apologize for not being as active lately :< college exams and projects have all my attention at the moment. I am so thankful to those who’ve stuck around since the first year of this account, and I am also thankful to those who chose to join me along the way on my journey of being a langblr/studyblr. I plan to write up some updates about how quarantine college life is like for me and how I go about it, so please bear with me.

Hi everyone! I’ve been using this tumblr account off and on for a while now, and then proceeding to forget about it in favour of using my other account (the one true main tumble :p). So here’s my nth attempt at getting back into studyblr.

After some hiccups I’m finally in my first year at uni! Studying “English Language and Culture”

So far there’ve been two subjects every block, one is linguistics focused, the other is literature focused. For literature we’re currently discussing renaissance and restoration period texts. Linguistics is focused on phonology (and using voice frequency analysers, there’s suddenly physics in my english :/ ), syntax, and morphology.

A Reintroduction

Though I’ve had this blog for a while, I don’t think I ever did a proper introduction. So, since I’ve been considering starting to post my own content again, I figured I’d start with this. 

Who am I? Some basic info

Name: Audrey

Age: 16

Birthdate: November 7th 

Zodiac: I’m a Scorpio sun, Aries moon, and Libra rising

MBPT: INFJ

Hogwarts house: Ravenclaw 

Where do I live? The continental United States, and I don’t really want to get into much more detail than that because the internet is a scary place. 

Education level: I’m a sophomore in high school right now. 

Favorite subjects/classes: History, English, and any language classes I happen to be taking. 

Languages I’m taking/learning on my own: Spanish, Latin, and Classical Greek. Hope to start learning French soon as well!

Interests (outside of academics): Running (I run cross country and track at my school), reading, writing (poetry and short essays, although I do also write fiction! Whatever I feel like at the moment, I guess), music, and cooking (I love food and it’s very fun to make myself things I enjoy), among other things. 

What is this blog gonna consist of?

This is going to be a combination of a studyblr, a langblr, a writeblr, running posts, cooking posts, and just little slices of my life that I think the internet might be interested in. I’m going to try to have a consistent posting schedule, and that should be easy to maintain while the stay-at-home orders in my state exist. After that, once I’m back in a physical classroom, it may be harder to keep up with posting, but I’ll see how that pans out when it happens.

Hello everyone! I’m Eszter (or just Esti) from Hungary and this is my studyblr reintroduction! I’ve been around for about a year now under the name orastudy but sadly, I wasn’t very active. Still, I missed the studyblr community and now I’m trying to relaunch this studyblr/langblr with a new name: estistudies!

languages i speak: hungarian (native), english (c1) target languages: german (b1), romanian (beginner) future target languages: finnish

major: English (currently in 2nd year) minor: theoretical linguistics (codenamed language technology) my classes: lots of linguistics; English literature, culture, history; academic writing

hobbies and passions: reading, taking long walks between beautiful old buildings, hiking, linguistics and languages

I also did bullet journaling last year but when university got more hectic in October I couldn’t stick to it. In 2019 I’m going to make it more minimalistic and academic focused, maybe with some “diary” kind of logs as well. Iam terrible at taking pictures of anything other than nature and the lighning is always bad anyway, but I’m going to try to have more original posts - both photos and some tips or vocab lists. A Reintroduction

Hello! I’m Jxeli Bixie! I’ve had this studyblr since I was about 16, but I thought it was time to reintroduce myself.

I’m a 20 year old nb student at Amherst College. I’m majoring in German and SWAGS (Sexuality, Women’s, and Gender Studies). I’m also super interested in film making and video production, and have been working as an editor for several years.

I will be spending the 2018/2019 school year abroad in Germany! 

During that time I’m going to be using this blog to record my experiences. Post specifically about that will be tagged as “Abroad Blogging”. Beyond that, most of my content is langblr stuff (especially german), studyspo, bookblr material, and a smattering of current events, history, feminist/queer/leftist theory, and paganism.

Other facts about me:

Queer and LGBTQ issues are very dear to me both due to my own identity (as a pan/bisexual transmasc/nonbinary person) and due to the people who have been important in my life

I originally planned to major in film

I would love to work in a library or archive

From 3rd to 10th grade I wanted to be a novelist

I struggle with depression (almost a year on meds now though!)

I’m pagan. I’ve been a practitioner for...like seven years now, and I am eternally happy for my path.

I run a bunch of different blogs (main blog, scene blog, pagan blog, nsfw blog, this one) so feel free to ask me about my others

Feel free to message me to say hey or ask me questions about anything. I’d love to talk to other people who study German, are going abroad, or share any of my other interests! At some point I am going to write an introduction post in German as well...but not right now. :)
