⚠️HAMILTON THEORY⚠️
So, so, SO
Y'all know and love the musical Hamilton, right? Well I do. And idk if this theory is *entirely* original, so my apologies if it isn't. BUT:
Angelica and Elizabeth Schuyler, both have iconic songs which highlight their feelings for our controversial bastard orphan Alexander. Eliza uses the phrase "Helpless" throughout the song frequently (it's also the name lol), and Angelica uses "Satisfied" (ALSO the name of the song).
BUT, stay with me, the two eldest Schuyler sisters aren't the only ones who uses these phrases.
In Say No to This, Maria Reynolds says "I'm helpless", almost like a nod to Eliza's song.
Whereas in Meet me Inside, John Laurens says "I'm satisfied" after his duel with Charles Lee. Now, while this may be a coincidence, as it's fitting that it rhymes with "shot him in the side" (referring to Lee's current condition), it's still something to consider.
My thought is this:
The characters in Hamilton that quote or say the word 'Helpless' in their respective songs, are those who openly showed affection and expressed their love to Alexander Hamilton. Those being Eliza Hamilton, his wife, and Maria Reynolds, the one whom he had a "torrid affair" with, as that became public later on.
But, the characters who had used the term 'Satisfied' were the ones who never broadcasted their love, only really admired him from afar or never spoke about their relationship. And who were those, you may ask? None other than John Laurens, Hamilton's close friend who many shippers are speculating an affair between the two, as well as Angelica Schuyler, who talked about her repressed feelings in her spotlight song.
Reblog if you love Hamilton ;)

in the heights/hamilton characters as different aesthetics (preppy, goth, etc.)
this is such a great question! ok, let's think about it. so i decided to pair them up (one ith + one (or two) hamilton character(s) with similar vibes i may also drop some quotes to prove my point) and here's how i see it:
usnavi/alexander (it's all about the legacy they left with me, it's destiny/what is a legacy? it's planting seeds in a garden you never get to see + both the caribbean immigrants + both orphans + both can't shut up sometimes i could write a whole essay about it actually): 90s (i don't have any explanation for this one, i just want to see it cause it's a vibe)
vanessa/angelica (if i'm in the mood, it will not be with some dude who is whistling cause he has nothing to say/i'm looking for a mind at work + so this is what it feels like to match wits with someone at your level you see what i did here, right?): DARK ACADEMIA (oh i love this one, i could even make them a moodboard lol)
nina/eliza: (hey guys, it's me! the biggest disappointment you know BUT nina please believe that when you find your way again you're gonna change the world/i'm erasing myself from the narrative BUT i live another 50 years, it's not enough + and when my time is up, have i done enough? cause in the end they both have done so much, ok? you know what i'm trying to say also this post is a mess): PREPPY (idk i just think it's their vibe)
benny/mulligan (idk, for some reason i was just thinking about how benny was showing off his skills in benny's dispatch and mulligan was showing off... his pants also yes that is the only reason lol): SKATER (do i even need to explain?)
sonny/laurens/philip (they all just have the same young energy for me and i'm not gonna give you any quotes here, it's just something you can see with your own eyes when you watch them on the stage): KIDCORE (i literally had no idea something like this exists but you can google it and it's a perfect choice for them)
kevin/jefferson (ok so look, kevin and camila are married to each other and jefferson and madison are also like a married couple in my head i don't know what else i can say): NORMCORE (just how i see it)
camila/madison (look up): LIGHT ACADEMIA (idk it's just the vibe bro)
daniela/lafayette (mostly because they are both iconic and come on we all love them so much also daniela works in the salon and layafette has majestic hair but it's unimportant): ART HOE (it's just perfect for them, ok?)
carla/peggy (like can't you just see it? carla clearly doesn't have much to say and peggy... and peggy. they are both cute tho! and they are both there just for fun!): SOFT GIRL (cause like i said they are just cute!)
piragua guy/king george (hey, pana! i run this town!/soon you'll see, you'll remember you belong to me! come on they are basically the same person, piragua guy is the king of washington heights): BADDIE (i'm literally crying right now, it's too damn funny)
abuela claudia/george washington (that was abuela, she's not really my abuela but she practically raised me, this corner is her escuela/your wife needs you alive, son, i need you alive + daddy's calling parent vibes lol): COTTAGECORE (it is what it is)
graffiti pete/burr (listen, i don't even have any quotes here, it's just the fact that usnavi hates graffiti pete and hammy and burr are enemies lol you see what i did here): GOTH (just because this is so fucking funny in my head lol imagine aaron burr as goth)
maria reynolds (i don't have a pair for her oops): EARLY 2000s (because of course)

Met Gala 2022: The Most Gilded and Glamourous Stars
May 6, 2022, Philippine time
On Monday evening, the Met Gala resumed its regular schedule on the first Monday in May, with The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosting its charity event, gathering some of the world's biggest stars who embraced Old Hollywood glamour and honored the Gilded Age.
Dubbed as the Super Bowl of fashion, the Met Gala is expected to serve numerous iconic and timeless looks on its theme “Gilded Glamour” a theme that leaves a variety of interpretation and inspiration from the Old Hollywood style and the opulence from the early decade of Hollywood sophistication.
The 2022 Met Gala, co-chaired by Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, welcomed celebrities and fashion pioneers to present their own renditions of the "Gilded Glamour" theme. Black lace, metallic glisten, feathered motifs and dramatic hues rained down the prestigious red carpet.
In no certain order, here are the most gilded and glamourous stars on the 2022 Met gala.
Blake Lively
Tumblr media
Blake Lively amazed everyone on the red carpet with a quick change. Photos from: Versace’s Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/versace/.
Blake Lively was among the first celebrities to walk the red carpet. Versace presented her with a glittering metallic gown with a copper train.
Lively walked the red carpet in a custom Atelier Versace tulle column gown embroidered with crystals, metallic leather, paillette, and tri-tone copper foil duchesse silk. Halfway through the stairs an oversized foiled bow at the waist unraveled to reveal a second look in bright bluish-green —mimicking the transformation of New York's Statue of Liberty from bronze to oxidized green.
A beautifully painted, foiled, and stitched cosmic map is featured on the long duchesse train and is inspired by the 12 zodiac constellations that adorn Grand Central Station's ceiling. The dress's initial shape was inspired by American designer Charles James, while art deco features are reflective of New York landmarks such as the Empire State Building.
Alicia Keys
Tumblr media
Alicia Keys stunned everyone by reimagining the concrete jungle where dreams are made of  on a glimmering silver gown by Ralph Lauren. Photos from: Alicia Keys’ Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/aliciakeys/ , Ralph Lauren’s Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/ralphlauren/.
The iconic singer-pianist Alicia Keys astonished everyone on the red carpet with the majestic skyline of New York City on her  extensive black cape. Keys’ hand-embroidered and hand-beaded duchess satin cape, inspired by New York, has over 200,000 crystals. Her strapless column dress has approximately 30,000 crystals and black lacquer sequins. Both the cape and  the dress were by Ralph Lauren.
Gigi Hadid
Tumblr media
Gigi Hadid was definitely a head-turner with her monochromatic look. Photos from: Versace’s Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/versace/.
Gigi Hadid made our heads turn with her monochromatic custom look by Atelier Versace.
Hadid stepped in the Met Gala presenting herself in a burgundy puffer coat over a corset catsuit. The custom Atelier Versace puffer coat is the fashion atelier’s modern interpretation of coats from the 1800s and a revamp of the Dolman silhouette. The oversized puffer coat featured a shaded off quilted finish.
Hadid’s skin-hugging burgundy corset highlights a pointed neckline. The corset and the jacket's excessive volume clash in a luxurious display of contrast inspired by the late 1800s density and dramatic change in womenswear styles.
Billie Eilish
Tumblr media
Billie Eilish astounded everyone in the Met with her upcycled Gucci look. Photo from: Gucci’s Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/gucci/.
Billie Eilish made her entrance on the prestigious gala with an upcycled Gucci look by Alessandro Michele. Eilish wore a tonal duchesse corsage and a custom upcycled Gucci duchesse satin corseted gown with lace underneath and ruffled duchesse satin skirt with padded bustle. An embroidered choker finished her ensemble. Eilish’s look was styled by stylist Dena Neustadter Giannini.
Cardi B
Tumblr media
Cardi B’s golden glitz in the gala definitely dazzled everyone. Photo from: Versace’s Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/versace/.
Cardi B’s high-voltage take on the theme “Gilded Glamour’’ was definitely a head turner at the Met Gala. Cardi B wore an Atelier Versace embroidered golden metal chains on top of a hand-crafted illusion tulle column dress that took 20 members of the Atelier 1300 hours to finish. Medusa medallions and a crystal-encrusted Versace Greca adorn the chains, which visually resemble coins in an abundance of glitz. The complex embroidery can also be found on the arms and neckline, as well as a hand-sculpted collar that resembles a Victorian coat ruffle.
Nicola Coughlan
Tumblr media
Nicola Coughlan portrays her Bridgerton character in a pink and black corset-style gown. Photos from: Richard Quinn’s Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/richardquinn/.
Nicola Coughlan channels her Bridgerton character in a pink and black corset-style gown by Richard Quinn. Coughlan opted for a feathery style for her first Met Gala. With its silhouette, exposed cups, and use of duchess satin, her look, which consists of an embroidered and feathered pink and black ball gown with matching cape, is inspired by the fabrications of extravagant 19th-century elegance. Coughlan also transformed her signature bob into long, flowing blonde locks for the gala.
Shawn Mendes
Tumblr media
Shawn Mendes' classic early 1900s look in the Met Gala will be one of the most unforgettable in Met Gala history. Photos from: Shawn Mendes’ Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/shawnmendes/.
Shawn Mendes entered the Met Gala with a classic early 1900s look by Tommy Hilfiger. Mendes wore a red and navy Tommy Hilfiger coat with his initials embroidered on the inside lining. Afterwards, he took off the coat to show a sleek navy suit, which he finished with a matching turtleneck and nail polish.
Jared Leto and Alessandro Michele
Tumblr media
Jared Leto went twinning with Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele at the Met Gala. Photos from: Gucci’s Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/gucci/.
Fashion enthusiasts were seeing double when Jared Leto appeared at the Met Gala Monday night alongside Alessandro Michele, the creative director of Gucci. Leto and Michele matched in a custom Gucci double-breasted suit with all-over floral bouquet embroidery with gold beads and pearls with an evening shirt, suede boots, satin bow tie, and a suede Gucci Blondie bag. The look is inspired by mid-nineteenth-century photography, which used sequences of images to create optical illusions that changed reality.
Sarah Jessica Parker
Tumblr media
Sarah Jessica Parker turns heads with her voluminous plaid off-the-shoulder ball gown and quirky fascinator hat. Photos from: Christopher John Rogers’ Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/christopherjohnrogers/.
Sarah Jessica Parker turns heads with her voluminous plaid off-the-shoulder ball gown and quirky fascinator hat. SJP wore a Christopher John Rogers' contoured, patchworked bodice and pleated ball skirt in Black, Charcoal, Elephant, and Ivory silk faille fabric. The long train of the voluminous skirt flowed behind the film star as she walked down the red carpet. The inspiration for the outfit was Elizabeth Hobbs Keckley, a notable designer, seamstress, essayist, philanthropist, and social crusader active during the Gilded Age.

My Favorite Parts of Hamilton on Film
the sick tablecloth trick they did during Room Where it Happens
the look on Angelica’s face in Schuyler Sisters when all those men are talking to her and she just kinda side eyes them
how satisfied and helpless had 90% the same choreo just from a different perspective
also Mulligan being the flower girl makes my heart so darn happy
‘and peggy’
the choreo in literally every single number. the fact that ensemble was singing and dancing all out like that and changing all the props like McScuse me I love them all so much
the adorable ensemble member who gave King George the letter in I know Him
The ensemble member who was hip thrusting during the aerial view of Reynolds Pamphlet
the LIGHTING DESIGN of literally the entire show but some honorable mentions: What’d I Miss, Wait for It, Lauren’s Interlude, The Room Where It Happened, Yorktown,
Literally any time Johnathan Groff was onscreen, but his little dances during Reynold’s Pamphlet are god tier
and on that note, Jefferson dancing on the little table while saying “He’s never gonna be president now”
Washington, Philip, and Maria all being there during Reynold’s Pamphlet but not saying anything, just staring
The tears on Angelica’s face during It’s Quiet Uptown.
Eliza crying during It’s Quiet Uptown but not saying anything until she takes Alexander’s hand (and Alexander’s face when she takes his hand finally, the way he just falls apart in HD - OUCH)
Lafayette and Mulligan being there reading their own letters during the Lauren’s Interlude
all of Philip all the time during act 2. He owns my heart and so does Anthony Ramos
the costumes!! as a costumer and someone on ensemble, lot’s of costume changes can be tricky. But the way they did the costumes was so great because it made it easy to switch characters and show the passage of time
Leslie 👏 Odom 👏 Jr.
How at the end of the show, everyone was lined up together to do bows, they weren’t in order of most lines/most important, etc.
all of “Story of Tonight” just made me cry. it’s so relevant right now and it was so beautiful
“you punched the bursar?” *snaps fingers* “yes”
the three bros being super heckin drunk during Aaron Burr, Sir but still taking over making the beat for each other
ELIZA BEAT BOXING and Philip singing his little song it just makes me *sob*
the small dance movements of the ensemble during My Shot showing how the inklings of the revolution starting and by the end they’re full on dancing
the way Oak says “sewing some pants”
Lafayette playing with the little shot glasses
the spinning stage??? is so cool???
When Hamilton does his thing in my shot and they’re all standing around the box and start dancing one by one slowly??? I love that. ICONIC
the set changes are just beautifully done
Oak’s cloak as Mulligan, the green one, is my favorite thing idk why I just love it (and his beanie)
“tomorrow there’ll be more of us” freaking gets me man and hearing them sing it together on stage hits different
I literally love Jasmine so much and she does an amazing job as peggy she owns my heart
the sisters all have matching earrings?? but with their different colors
the guy doing the book flip thing what how did he do that
mulligan making whiny dog sounds during “my dog speaks more eloquently than thee”
ALL OF JONATHAN GROFF (also he was an ensemble member at the end and that’s great)
the way he dragged his scepter at the beginning of I Know Him cracked me tf up
why did they zoom in on him every time he did a little spit I mean they did him so dirty with the editing but it’s so gd funny
he doesn’t blink!!!!!!
the shoulder shrug during the dadadas.
the vaguely threatening ‘everybody’
all the women singing to intro to “Right Hand Man” I got chills bro
Oak is Large and I love him
the way Hamilton breaks when saying “Call me son one more time!”
Phillipa Soo’s singing is seamless constantly. It never fails
the way they fell like dolls during the rewind sequence of Satisfied
the simple choreo of wait for it speaks so loudly
the way it seems like Burr is trying to convince himself when he says “I am inimitable, I am an original” with the little head nod
hamilton pointing at Lee after Lee chews out Washington
“immigrants, we get the job done”
“i’m so blue” *light cue changes to blue*
“tomorrow there’ll be more of us” during the Lauren’s Interlude (catch me sobbing)
the way Hamilton sits in the chair during the beginning of Non-Stop after Burr tells him too like a pouty child
Angelica’s act two costume with the collar
the way Leslie Odom Jr. says “Hamilton wrote the other 51!” with so much passion I can’t handle it
things will be added to this list as I think of them and as I watch the movie a million more times

Watched the Hamilfilm just an hour or so ago and y'all I am e m o t i o n a l
And so I've compiled a list of some of my favourite moments, in no particular order:
-The iconic tablecloth move in Room Where it Happens. You know. When Leslie jumps on a table and a dude quickly pulls away the tablecloth. That's some good shit 👌
-The rewinding choreography in Satisfied
-The lingering looks between Hamilton and Laurens
-Honestly Daveed's entire dance during What'd I Miss. It was great.
-Washington deadass looking like a ballerina at the end of Right Hand Man and One Last Time
-The king's sass throughout the whole thing. Especially his little shimmies during Reynold's Pamphlet
-Burr having like fifty voice cracks in his "Sweet Jesus..." in Obediant Sevant
-Jefferson handing out the pamphlets and giving one to Alex Lacamoire
-Burr looking completely dead inside as he goes "Honestly it's kinda draining" in The Election of 1800
-Madison wiping away tears after It's Quiet Uptown and his voice cracking as he says "Please?"
-King George spitting everywhere as he yells "AnD NO DOn't chAnge the subject~"
-Jefferson shaking his head vigorously as Msdison mentions the idea of working with Hamilton, then sort of slowly nodding as he's like "..okay yeah, I suppose... but I'm not gonna enjoy it"
-Burr's face dropping after Hamilton announces that he's voting for Jefferson
-Literally all the choreography. But especially for Yorktown (which is a criminally underrated song, may I add)
-Hamilton and Samuel Seabury trying to repeatedly shove each other off the little pedestal thing whenever they're talking
-Phillip's slow transition from being shot to being laid out in the hospital bed
Rightt that's all I can think of rn so feel free to add your own
