fr tho i think we've been hearing this shit about 'it'S a NoT A gAmE it'S A GaMe anD a MovIe' and 'new form of media' like it's some groundbreaking innovative design and the future of gaming for at least 10 years now and it's. NOT ?? maybe it's the future of movies but certainly not the future of video games. the best part of gaming imo is the versatility in storytelling and how many forms that can take. i'm just thinking like. when you have rpgs where actions and lines of dialogues affect your choice and the narrative greatly, when they make you stop and think and care about every element of that world (depending on the worldbuilding) are you seriously trying to tell me that some set narrative full of a listers full of pretentious arthouse indie film bullshit is going to be better than that??? that games in general WILL EVOLVE TO THAT?? fuck no. interactivity is the pinnacle of gaming, that shit is never getting replaced

I feel like the polite thing to do is introduce myself to you all!

My name is Ryan or "Dr. Mick" (he/him), and I host [Game] Sessions with a Therapist. Although I may not look like it (and I hear this all the time), I am a licensed couple & family therapist with a PhD in Human Development.

I stream over on Twitch where I play video games and use them to help illustrate mental health and psychological concepts shown within them. I do a lot of pausing, so be ready for that if you stop by, which I hope you do!

While I am a therapist, I am not YOUR therapist.

What do I plan to do with this blog?

A lot of what you will find here are mental health tidbits from my current or past playthroughs. We have a pretty big backlog of stuff for you all to enjoy! Occasional YouTube playthroughs may pop in here as well, but for the most part, it will be the little short tidbits. Maybe some nice little gifsets eventually 👀

Johnny from the GTA 4 dlc "Lost and the Damned" is highly underrated imo. He's got really good lines, he's a funny asshole, badass biker, and means well at the end of the day, at least for a killer lol

my toxic trait is i listened to drake’s new album (BECAUSE i saw people calling it mall music and wanted to see for myself) and i love it actually. it’s dance music and there’s room to call it generic but it’s definitely not mall music and everyone saying that is legitimately just parroting other people to do numbers on twitter i’ll say that much. especially when all these nearly identical tweets came out like 20 minutes after the album did which isn’t even enough time to listen 🤨
