Something that annoys me about cis people is that they think we're forcing gender on them.

With things that aren't.

Names.

Say we have a cis man called Jack. Someone misreads his name as Jake. He would correct that person, and all is well.

A trans woman, let's call her Christina. Someone from her childhood, before she came out knew her as Christian. If she corrected them, there is a chance they could become unreasonably offended.

Pronouns/gendered terms.

Jack has long hair. Somebody mistakes him for a girl. He corrects her, and all is well.

Christina hasn't been growing her hair out long, and has a slightly deep voice. A man walks up to her, and calls her a man. She tells him she is a woman, but the man doesn't believe her. There is a chance the situation can escelate.

Stop saying we're forcing shit on you! Grow up!
