Where did they get the giant shopping cart...?
Tumblr media
The artwork I've posted on this blog so far hasn't been meeting my standards, so I wanted to take my time on this one. I'm happy it turned out decent~ (^-^)
Here's a lazy sketch I made while forming the concept:
Tumblr media
Oh! Lastly and most importantly: take care of yourselves. Don't be cringe like me and forget to use the bathroom.

ngl it bums me out how fast everyone hopped off masks not just for covid/communicable diseases but just the concept of revisiting personal safety equipment in general.
long post i guess
I've been taking a 5 week pottery workshop on wheel throwing (it's neat!) and we got up to glazing last week. When you glaze pots, the glaze starts as a a thick liquid and then dries really quick into a powdery form (on your clay piece). I was asking my instructor about clean up and she was like "oh you can just rub off the excess carefully, but try not to get dust in the air as it's a little toxic. obviously you're wearing a mask but the rest of us aren't"
(my partner and i wear masks b/c it's inside and that's just what we still do. it sucks but it's better than covid and also now inhaling dust/fumes)
I kinda wanted to respond "maybe we should all be wearing masks??" like if not for covid concerns, at least for the semi-toxic powder we're all just handling/some folks are breathing in O.O
(i didn't b/c tbh i'm still a little on edge with the going out/doing stuff in public thing/esp indoors and people misgender me/mispronounce my name constantly and honestly sometimes you just want to do ceramics and not fight with people. it also just didn't feel winnable)
I feel like there's so many things like that that people just disregard as a risk that don't need to be, but as a society (US at least), we just never wanted to have that conversation (it was at best, begrudging, at the height of government awareness of covid and now it's completely gone by the wayside). At this point people either respond negatively or aggressively to any suggestion of it.
But like we've all had that one art teacher/professor who was a little bit off b/c they'd just been inhaling toxic paint fumes their whole career and it was always written off as just a quirk/part of the job (maybe things are better now? new art students feel free to chime in) and not something that could have been mitigated.
idk, it just makes me sad that we never got to even have the conversation about how so many jobs/hobbies should use more personal safety equipment than they do (either b/c people feel inconvenienced by it or don't know).
(tangent but i remain appalled at how many people i see riding bikes/etc around here that don't wear helmets! it's fucking wild to me, like we had the "wear a helmet or your head will be shattered like an egg" demonstrations as early as elementary school in massachusetts. Like it's just silly not to, and yet so many people in cali are like "a helmet? i don't know her". Also adults will agree that children should, but they shouldnt?!? wear a helmet for biking/skating/etc is the hill i will die on, esp on pavement)

White Nail Polish
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: I.N x reader
Genre: pure fluff, angst, hurt/comfort
Word Count: 5.1K
Summary: Every Sunday when Yang Jeongin comes home to your shared apartment, there you’ll be, in your corner seat on the couch, painting your nails the same white color. But today, when he steps inside, you’re not there.
——————————————————————-
You always painted your nails yourself.
“It’s easier!” You would tell Jeongin with a bubbly smile. “Plus, it’s so nice to take some time to pamper myself. And I get to save money.”
It was a simple tradition he’s come to look forward to.
Every Sunday, when Jeongin walked in the door to your shared apartment and the smell of acetone smacked him in the face, he would always smile.
There you would be, on your designated corner seat on the couch, in your coziest, oversized hoodie, a fresh clay face mask on your face with your hair held back by a fuzzy headband.
The same fuzzy headband he stuck in your Christmas stocking last year.
You’d only just be finishing taking the last coat off your nails by the time he got home.
Without fail, Jeongin would walk in and immediately open the window to air out the chemical smell. He would then lecture you about fumes and how dangerous it was to be inhaling them.
Then, you would giggle and ask him to sit with you. He would do so without any fuss and a happy tingle in his chest.
Both of you would talk and watch TV until it was time for bed.
Sundays were his new favorite days.
The roommate line of your relationship was quickly crossed with how you were as a person, your overly friendly nature couldn’t keep you apart for long. After living together for two years now, Jeongin would easily proclaim you as one of his best friends.
His life was always changing, nothing was ever the same; nothing except for you and your white nail polish.
So, when he opened the door and was met with only the smell of a burning candle, Jeongin frowned.
The living room was dark. The TV wasn’t on. The entire apartment was standing still.
Not even a fresh pot of coffee was sitting on the counter.
You were home, though. Your shoes were by the door and your keys were hanging on the hook.
Never once have you missed a ‘Self Care Sunday’ as you coined them.
Even when you had the flu, you made sure to paint your pretty nails.
The door shut behind him, the click of the lock was as hollow as the apartment felt.
Jeongin kicked his shoes off and made his way down the hall, tossing his bag in his room before walking across the hall to stand in front of your closed door. The soft glow of your fairy lights shined from the crack underneath the wood.
There’s soft sounds coming from inside, it sounds like you’re watching videos on your phone.
He knocks a few times, you hum for him to come in.
Jeongin pushes the door open gently, his head peeking in first before his body.
You’re a lump of blankets on top of the bed. If he looked quickly, he might not have realized that it was you underneath all the blankets and pillows.
“Y/N?” he asks quietly, stepping inside slowly.
Your eyes look at him, they seem… dull. When you see his face, you lock your phone and place it down on your bed.
Again, you only hum.
“What’s wrong, Y/N?” he asks. Jeongin walks towards the bed and sits on the edge. “You’ve never missed a Sunday before.”
You shrug— or at least, he thinks it’s a shrug, all Jeongin’s able to see is the lump of blankets move around.
His eyebrows pull together and he purses his lip. “What’s going on?”
You look away from him. “Just… life weighing down extra today. Exams, job, finding an internship, life, everything.”
Every day you were bubbly. Not a moment went by where you didn’t have a varying degree of a smile on your face. Some people had a resting bitch face, you had a resting happy face.
The corners of your lips were perpetually upturned.
Seeing you now, like this, a sad lump of fleece, pulled at Jeongin’s heartstrings.
You reach one hand out from under the blankets and place it gently on top of his. “Sorry for being all meh,” you huff a humorless laugh through your nose. “I’ll be fine tomorrow. I think I need to be a bedbug today.”
Jeongin thinks for a moment, he looks around your room to your desk. Everything that you usually use on Sundays is there on top.
He flips his hand around and picks yours up, bringing it closer to his face. Cocking his head to the side, he peers down at your nails, making sure to exaggerate how much he’s judging the chipped polish.
“No, no,” he says, clicking his tongue. “This won’t do at all.”
“Jeongin—“
“Nope, look at this.” He holds your hand up for you to see. “How unprofessional. We have to take care of this.”
You roll your eyes. And it doesn’t slip past Jeongin’s watchful eye that your lips twitch in a smile.
“I just don’t feel like it right now,” you whine.
“That’s fine, I’ll do it.”
Jeongin pulls on your arm to yank you out of the blanket pile.
You blink a few times and allow him to sit you up on the bed. A large, stretched out t-shirt hung off your shoulder, your hair sticks up in different directions.
“What?” you ask with wide eyes.
“I’ll paint your nails, come on. Free of charge.”
Jeongin stands up from the bed and holds his hand out for you. You just blink at him over and over.
“You’re going to paint my nails?” The question ends with an incredulous laugh.
Rolling his eyes, Jeongin thrusts his hand out for you to take again. “Yes, I’m going to paint your nails, what’s so odd about that?”
“Have you ever painted your nails before?”
“No, but I watch you do it every week. How hard could it be?”
Your face scrunches up but a small twinkle returns to your eyes. It doesn’t slip past Jeongin.
Deciding that you’re taking too long, Jeongin leans down and picks you up over his shoulder.
A loud squeal comes from your throat that dissolves into giggles. His heart lights up at the sound— it always has.
Even on his worst days, hearing your laughter was like sitting in front of a fireplace during a snowstorm. When he’s sick, he swears he doesn’t need medicine, he just needs to sit near you.
He can still remember one night where he was at his wit’s end, everything that could go wrong, did. He was so overstimulated and angry at everything that he could scream and cry at the same time.
But then, your laughter pierced through the gray clouds of his mind. Your fit of giggles traveled through your door and into his room, they were so muffled but uncontrolled.
Slowly, they dissolved into cackles. Breathless wheezes and snorts that made him smile without knowing what you’re looking at.
You had one of those laughs that was so contagious, especially to him.
There was a bit of shuffling, a door opened, and then you came through his with one of the happiest smiles he’s ever seen. Tears coming down your red face from laughing so hard.
“You have to see this!” you wheezed out.
What was it? A video of a duck sitting on top of a water park geyser, when the water jet activated, the duck went flying.
It wasn’t even that funny. But hearing your angelic laughter made it hilarious.
Suddenly, his day wasn’t so bad anymore. He couldn’t even remember what he was mad about.
That’s the friendship you both have always carried on with.
A shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold, an arm to grab when you’re laughing too hard, an extra coffee to bring home, a constant reminder to refill the Brita. It gets deeper and deeper every day.
Jeongin unceremoniously plops you into your corner seat and you let out an ‘ooof!’
He points down at your face. “Stay.”
“I’m not a dog!” You laugh nonetheless while Jeongin’s lithe form disappears down the hallway again.
You look down at your nails. They desperately needed to be done. After studying for hours on end while chewing on your nails, typing on your laptop, and picking nervously at them, there’s barely any polish left.
Truly, you were just going to wait until tomorrow— but if Jeongin was offering, who were you to turn it down?
He comes back out into the living room with everything you typically used. You honestly never noticed how much he paid attention to your pampering.
Setting everything down on the table, he sits cross legged on the seat next to yours and clicks the TV on. A random Christmas movie plays in the background.
He grabs the remover and a cotton pad and goes to work. All the motions look so natural after he grabs your first hand; like he’s the one that does this every Sunday, not you.
The two of you are facing one another, knees practically touching. He’s so gentle when he works.
The chemical burning smell of acetone makes him scrunch his nose up.
“Aren’t you going to open the windows?” you tease.
He grins. “In a minute. The smell has to permeate the house first.”
“And here I thought you hated the smell.”
“I do,” he wipes off polish and goes to the next finger. “But it’s just … something that’s grown on me.”
“Acetone?”
“Yeah,” he snorts. “Strangely enough. I hate it, but I love it.”
He switches to the next hand.
The Christmas movie continues to play, it’s a classic one with Korean translated subtitles at the bottom of the screen. It’s weird hearing English come out of the TV.
Jeongin’s been trying extra hard with English since you moved in. With you being from America, it was like having a live-in tutor.
“I … need remote, please.” He asked in a slow, calculated tone.
“You need the remote,” you corrected him, holding it out of his reach.
“I need the remote.”
“Why?”
“Change channel.”
“Change the channel.”
“Oh my god.”
Your attention goes back to Jeongin. He’s wiping the last of the nail polish off your fingers.
He’s been your rock these last two years. And you’ve been his.
Neither of you really enjoy having emotional conversations or talking about your feelings, you both prefer to stay quiet about it. But that doesn’t mean you don’t need some form of support.
That’s how you two work out so well. When one needs help, the other is there with jokes or food or a movie ready to watch.
Or in this case, nail polish ready to be applied.
With a huff, he stands up from the couch and pushes open one of the windows. He fans his hand in front of his face just to be extra dramatic.
Rolling your eyes, you poke him in the side when he sits back down on the couch.
You were expecting him to put the paint on right away afterwards, so imagine your surprise when he picks up the small pair of clippers.
With a raised eyebrow, you take your hand away a little. His grip tightens and his head snaps up to look at you with a mock-offended expression.
“Nuh-uh!” you tease. “You’re gunna give me man nails!”
“I will not!” he jests back. “I will clip your nails exactly how you usually do it!”
Your eyes narrow, he mirrors it.
You jut out your bottom lip, he mirrors it.
You slowly turn your head to the side to side-eye him, he mirrors it.
“I'm trusting you, Yang Jeongin. Christmas is next week. I don’t want man hands.”
He scoffs and looks back down at your hand. “I have rough news, Y/N.”
You balk and rip your hand away from him and then usher a swift smack to his bicep.
The two of you giggle the more you smack him around playfully.
“I do not have man hands!” you yell.
He laughs with you, holding his arms up to shield himself. “Okay, okay! Fine! You have beautiful womanly hands! Enough!”
You stop smacking him. “That’s more like it.”
With that adorable smile, Jeongin reaches forward and grabs your hand once again.
“One set of ridiculously short nails coming up.”
“I’ll poison your coffee tomorrow.”
“You wouldn’t.”
“Try me, Yang.”
He snickers once more and then starts cutting your nails in small, little snips.
Jeongin just trims them a bit— he does a perfect job if you’re being completely honest. You preferred them a little longer anyway.
When he picks the nail file up, you’re less wary.
He files your nails down a little more, rounding off the edges just how you like.
“How was rehearsal?” you ask quietly.
“Are we gossiping now? Is this what it’s like getting your nails done at a salon?”
You chuckle. “Yes, now tell me all about it.”
“It was good, I had vocal training after, so it was a long day.”
“What does your day look like tomorrow?”
“Nothing tomorrow. But Tuesday we leave for Japan until Thursday.”
You hum, watching him file your nails. “Nervous?”
“Always. It’s never gone away.”
You giggle. “I think if you weren’t nervous, you would have too big of a head.”
“Or I would be Minho.”
Then, simultaneously, you both go: “Same thing.” And then break into a fit of laughter.
He files your one pinky finger and looks down at both of your hands at once.
“How’s that shape look?”
You bring them up closer for you to look at. They all look even and perfect.
How is he doing this?
“I think you should open a salon,” you tell him, still inspecting your nails.
“Ah, yes, let me abandon my idol lifestyle to be a nail tech.”
Jeongin grabs your one hand and files a little notch off that you didn’t see.
Again, you giggle.
He puts the nail file down and picks up the bottle of white polish you use every week. He shakes it around just like you do, hitting it against the heel of his palm.
Holding his hand out, you put yours in his.
“If you couldn’t be an idol, what would you do?” you ask suddenly.
Jeongin doesn’t even pause, but you can see he’s thinking about your question as he unscrews the bottle. The excess on the brush is swiped on the neck.
“Hmm,” he weighs your question. “I don’t know, really. I love singing so much.”
Jeongin grabs your one finger and swipes the polish over your nail.
“You could be a lounge singer,” you tease. “Singing in those fancy, swanky nightclubs at the piano.”
“Would I have a tip jar on top?”
“Oh, of course. It would be overflowing from all the women who fall in love with you every night.”
His cheeks heat up from the compliment, moving from nail to nail with the first coat.
“Don’t say things like that,” he mumbles.
You snicker. “Sorry, but all the old ladies would be head over heels for you. They’d empty their wallets into your tip jar and you would smile and wink at them with those dimples.”
With your free hand, you poke at his face. Jeongin swats at your hand with a whine.
“I’ll mess up your nails on purpose!” he threatens.
Still laughing, you take your hand away from his face. He switches to the second hand. You blow on the first one.
“Okay, your turn: why white?” He asks, paying attention to his careful brush strokes.
“The color?”
He hums an ‘mhmm’.
You smile down at the color on your first hand he did, admiring the way the white looks.
“I think it’s pretty,” you tell him.
“That’s all?”
You snort. “Does there need to be another reason?”
“No, I guess not.” He moves from finger to finger.
“It makes me feel a little extra beautiful. I can’t explain it, but having my nails painted white feels so pretty.”
His own smile is warm and happy. His cheeks scrunch up and the small blush of pink that sits on them make your stomach dance.
You’ve never really needed anything else like you’ve needed his presence— nor have you craved anything similar.
Jeongin is Jeongin. He’s simple and everything you could ever ask for.
“My turn again; if you could change one decision you’ve made in the last five years, what would it be?”
Jeongin whistles and finishes the first coat on your hands. “That’s a heavy question, Y/N.”
You continue to blow on your nails. “Well, I figured we were getting deeper and deeper.”
“I asked you why you liked white nail polish!”
“And I asked you to take a deep dive into your regrets, I think these are pretty similar.”
“Is it?”
“Hell yeah.”
Jeongin grabs the first hand he was working on and takes a look at the polish. “How long does it take to dry?”
“It’s a special gel polish, so ten minutes between coats.”
“How long do you think it’s been?”
“Maybe five?”
He nods and turns to look at the TV. His eyes scan over the subtitles at the bottom to understand what’s happening.
But you don’t look at the TV, you continue to stare at him.
Jeongin’s boyish charm never seems to go away no matter what. Even after all the soft lines of his face turned into hard ones, that teasing happiness is still there.
When you became roommates two years ago it was because you desperately needed a place to stay and he just as direly needed someone to pay the other half of the rent.
A match made in Heaven.
He continued to be an idol and you continued college.
When you first moved in, Jeongin told you that if you wanted more privacy, to let him know, that he was more than content to leave communal spaces to you.
You looked him in the eye and asked, “What if I wanted to hang out with you?”
Neither of you have looked back.
You needed a friend and he needed someone who wasn’t in his group. The boys can only do so much for his sanity.
Sometimes he just needs to come home to acetone and fresh coffee.
Scrunching your nose, you look down at your first hand and poke at the first coat. When your fingerprint doesn’t show up, you hold it out to Jeongin.
“You didn’t answer my question.”
He looks back at you, then down at your hand and takes it. God, his hands are so soft.
“It’s too heavy of a question,” he whines.
“I wanna know the answer, though.”
He applies the second coat to a nail.
“I mean, I regret having to wear some of the outfits they had us in before and right after debuting.”
You laugh, it’s a cackle. Jeongin cracks a smile— it feels like a victory in his head.
“Okay, but I mean a real regret. Something you had control over.”
He stops painting your nails and thinks. His lip pulls between his teeth and his eyebrows pull together. Jeongin’s eyes flit around while his brain reels.
After a few seconds, he shakes his head and looks up at you. “I really can’t think of anything, Y/N.”
“Nothing?”
“Nope.”
“Not even me moving in?”
His eyes glisten and soften considerably when he hears you say that. The corners of his lips twitch and his heart stutters in his chest a bit.
It feels like cotton is shoved into his mouth while he looks at you. Your hair is still frizzy and everywhere, bare faced with sleepy bags under your eyes, pajamas from this morning still on.
If there was one decision that he was sure he made the best choice of in the past five years, it was you.
“No,” he says with a twinkly smile. “Not even that.”
His demeanor catches you off guard, but you don’t let it show too much.
Jeongin looks at you for a few more seconds before looking down to switch hands.
“My turn again. If you could do anything for a living, what would you do?” he questions while carefully painting.
“Oh, easy. Actress.”
Surprised, he looks back up at your face. “Really?”
“Yeah! I was doing a lot of acting back in America, just local stuff. But when it came time for college, I gave it up.” Your eyes shine sadly. “I was pretty good too, but it’s just one of those careers that have too much uncertainty.”
“Like being an idol.”
“Exactly.” You swallow thickly. “So I went for the secure route.”
Jeongin focuses down on your nails again.
You keep talking. “Besides, I get to live through you.”
His painting stutters, but he continues nonetheless. “What do you mean?”
“You come home with these fun stories of being famous, all the people you get to meet, the countries you get to see. You get to wear Alexander McQueen for God’s sake.”
He blushes, and paints the second coat on your pinky finger.
“Jeongin, your life is so cool. You get to fly to Japan on Tuesday, and you said it like it was just a regular commute. That’s … that’s amazing, you know?”
“It’s not all like that.” He inspects each nail, making sure nothing got messed up.
“I know. There’s crazy fans and all the blood, sweat, and tears.”
Jeongin rolls his eyes. “‘Crazy’ isn’t even a good enough word to describe some of them.”
You laugh.
The TV continues to play.
“But you get to do what you love,” you whisper to him through a thick voice.
Jeongin looks at you closely. There’s unshed tears welling up in your eyes. His heart sinks.
Swallowing, your eyes drop to the couch.
“I gave up on that dream a while ago.” You take a deep breath to try and calm yourself down. “So I decided to live vicariously through you and your fun stories.”
You shrug and roll your eyes to stare up at the ceiling. Your lip quivers.
With your hands still in his, Jeongin threads your fingers together and holds your hands up between you two.
He says nothing.
He doesn’t know what to say.
What can he say in this situation?
You don’t need him to say anything, though. You never have. The fact that he’s there is enough.
“Maybe that’s why we workout so well as roommates,” you say, “no one would suspect a normal girl, with a boring 9-5 would be living with idol superstar I.N from Stray Kids.” Humor was always your coping mechanism.
Letting out a deep breath towards the ceiling, you look back down at him, hands still intertwined.
“Thanks for letting me mooch off your life stories.”
Jeongin chuckles. “Anytime.” He pauses. “For the record, I don’t think your life is boring.”
You cock an eyebrow. “Oh really?”
He nods enthusiastically. “You did that research study about traffic safety last month, I thought it was really interesting.”
An unbelieving laugh leaves your chest. “You don’t need to lie.”
He squeezes your hands. “No, really! You’re studying so hard to be an analyst. You sat outside in the freezing cold for days and days and days watching the crosswalk of a busy road just to collect data.”
It’s true, you did do that. Jeongin also stopped by about once every other hour to give you a hot beverage or food.
If he noticed you were getting cold, the next trip consisted of extra jackets and blankets.
The things you do for research.
“After your findings were submitted, the city started the process to add more crosswalks to busy streets. You’re like a superhero.”
You stare at him for a second before bursting out in laughter. “What a lame superhero!”
Your cackles, like always, are contagious. He can’t fight his own giggles bubbling to the surface in his heart.
Before he knows it, Jeongin is laughing with you.
“I’m Captain Statistics! I beat the odds no matter what!”
He laughs even harder at your pun.
The two of you are giggling so much, your bodies falling forward on the couch, hunched over in a fit of laughter.
But, your hands stay intertwined.
Eventually, the laughter dies down.
Jeongin squeezes your hands once more and flips them around to look at your nails.
“I think it’s time for the top coat, Captain Statistics.”
You look at your hands and test the polish. “Yeah, you’re right.”
He switches the white bottle out for the clear coat. Repeating the shaking process and grabbing your hand.
The top coat goes on much quicker than the white polish does.
“Thank you for this, Jeongin,” you say quietly.
The smile that grows on his face reminds you of those timelapse videos of flowers growing in the Spring. It takes up the entirety of his face— and your heart.
“Of course, Y/N. Happy to do it.”
He moves to the other hand. You blow on the first one.
It’s the truth, he was happy to do it. He’d do it again if you asked him to. Jeongin would happily paint your nails every Sunday for the rest of your lives if you wanted.
Words sit in his mouth, words that he’s wanted to say for months now, words that would change the entirety of your relationship.
They’re so heavy on his tongue.
Jeongin can practically feel them tumbling out. He has to clench his jaw from keeping his confession to himself.
How much longer until he explodes? You can only shake a soda bottle too much before everything comes out the top.
God, he loves you so much.
You say it to him all the time, you say it to everyone so often.
“I love you” is said all the time by you. It’s as easy as breathing for you.
He asked you about it once, why do you say it so much? Your answer?
“People need to know when they’re loved. I will happily be that person that reminds them.”
As if he couldn’t love you more already. You’re just a light, a star, a sun.
Yes.
You’re his sun. The center of his galaxy. Everything revolves around you, he gravitates to you. He can’t help but bask in your warmth every single day.
The last of the top coat is painted delicately. They’re done.
“Finished,” he says quietly.
Your smile lights up the room.
“God, you’re the best, Jeongin,” you say, admiring his handiwork. “Thank you so much!”
He mirrors your smile and starts putting everything away. “Anytime, Y/N.”
Jeongin screws the lids tighter on the polish and acetone. A car honks outside. The TV plays on. The heat kicks on. You blow on your nails.
“I’ll miss you this week,” you tell him casually.
He looks over at you, folding his long legs up on the couch again.
“Really?”
“I always miss you, Jeongin. The apartment feels colder when you’re gone.”
He studies your face for a long stretch of time.
You’re too busy smiling at your nails to notice.
He can’t take it anymore.
“I lied to you,” he says suddenly. You look at him, slightly alarmed.
“What?” you ask.
“I lied— when I said I had no regrets, I lied.”
Your face scrunches up. “Why?”
He swallows nervously. “Close your eyes and I’ll tell you.”
You eye him curiously for a few more seconds before your eyes slide shut.
Jeongin’s heart rate picks up exponentially. It’s going to explode at this rate.
He leans forward towards your face, you’re so perfect. How are you so perfect?
He hesitates.
But, he swallows his nerves and swoops in the rest of the way, pressing his lips to yours delicately. Your body jolts, but you don’t move away from him.
It’s no more than a long peck. Electricity shoots through his body anyway.
A shock goes from his heart to his toes. He can barely feel his fingers.
You’re so magical. How do you do this?
Jeongin pulls away slowly, brushing your noses together and letting your shaky exhales mingle with one another.
He can’t open his eyes. He’s so worried that if he does, he’ll see rejection and disdain in your beautiful eyes.
You’re the first one to speak through the thick silence.
“I fail to see how that is a regret,” you whisper.
He laughs. Like always, you get him to laugh. He rests his forehead on yours.
“I regret not doing it sooner.” His long fingers come up to cup your one cheek.
You hum and lean into his touch.
Validation courses through his veins. It’s taking everything in his body not to jump for joy.
All he wants to do is stand up and scream, pump his fist in the air and claim victory.
Before he could do any of that, you lean forward and kiss him again.
Your top lip slots between his, his bottom in between both of yours.
A sigh of relief leaves his nose, his other arm wraps around your shoulders to bring you even closer. He can’t get you close enough to his body.
Closer, closer, closer.
Please, he needs you to be as close as possible.
He pulls back from the first kiss just to press another one to your lips.
Again, and again, and again— he pulls away just to swoop back in.
It’s never enough.
It’s like drinking water after you’ve been parched all day. He never knew he was crawling through a desert until now.
“Jeongin,” you giggle through his frantic kisses.
He grunts in response and continues to kiss you more. Why can’t he get enough?
He’s resigned himself to his fate. He’ll need to kiss you forever until the world ends.
“Jeongin,” you say again, still laughing.
How has he gone this long without your kisses? It’s madness.
Finally, you pull back. He dives in for another kiss, you turn your head with a brilliant smile, his lips meet your cheek.
Eh, that’ll do.
Over and over again he pecks your cheek. Laugh after laugh comes from you.
“My nails!” you finally call out. “You’re going to ruin them!”
His hand turns your face to look at him. “I’ll do them again. I’ll do them again and again, just please let me kiss you.”
Unable to take it any longer, you throw your arms around his neck and smash your lips together.
You pull him down onto the sofa with you, kiss after kiss being shared between the two of you.
How was he supposed to go to Japan now?
————————————————————————
(A/N: yes, the duck video exists. You can see it here. The first time I saw it I laughed so hard my housemate came in to check on me.)

tw: female reader, captivity, possessive behavior, non - consensual touching, hinted past stalking, hinted non - con, i keep making fairy tale references kfjhks My ko - fi <3
You actually feel calm now, almost at peace - although you can never be truly peaceful in the forest, you guess this is as close as it can get. You flip through the pages of the book, scanning the fireplace with the corner of your eye. It needs more wood, but it still keeps the cottage nice and warm. You tug at your big fluffy sweater - and think about just how domestic, how cozy this scene would be if you couldn't hear his footsteps creeping up behind you. You clear your throat and clutch the book closer to your stomach, trying to ignore him - hoping he'll go away if you pay him no mind. And just like the last few times, he sticks around like mud.
"Are you reading those fairytales again?" Raven calls out mockingly, the click of his tongue teasing your ear. He grasps your shoulders lightly, trying to take a peek at your book from behind the chair. You try to close it, but his hands quickly find your wrists, holding them in place. Now hyper - aware of his chest pressing against your back, you give in and let him look as his body heat spreads to your neck. "Such a pretty illustration, isn't it?" He hums to himself, a fox - like grin ruining his delicate features. When you don't respond, he just keeps going. "The knight kills the monster and rescues the princess." He reads the caption under the drawing, playing curious. "They live happily ever after." He flips the page. "The end." He mouths, averting his gaze.
You clench your fists and try to count to ten before you say something you will regret. You don't know why or how, but just one look at his face is enough to set you off nowadays. And anger is a losing battle - anger has you laying across his knees with your panties in your mouth, muffling your pained cries he likes to pretend are moans as he paints your butt red. So you shut up and bide your time.
"How sweet." The man chuckles with malice, quickly turning towards you just like a snake would curl around an unsuspecting little mouse. "I guess life really imitates art. Just like you and me." He observes with a self-satisfied smirk, reaching to light his cigarette. You hate when he smokes inside the house - the nicotine fume sticks to the walls for hours and you start choking and coughing, but he shows little concern for your heath; not that it's a huge surpirse to you.
"What do you mean?" You raise one eyebrow, hoping to at least take your mind off the nasty, overwhelming smell. If he sees your unease, he doesn't mention it, choosing to inhale even deeper, with his full chest. "You're the pretty damsel in distress." Raven explains calmly, charcoal eyes sinking into your vision like claws. It makes you feel naked, vulnerable - dissected to your very molecule. "And I am your knight." He lets his sharp teeth reflect in the dim light. "I saved you from those pesky insects who kept sulling you." You cringe at the way his tongue piercing drags against his canines. Track - track. "Aren't you glad I removed those obstactles for ya?" He gives you a crooked, sarcastic smile. "I think your hero deserves a little reward for all the trouble he went through just for you."
You blink away the tears as you are forced to remember it all in one breath. The police sirens - the investigation. The blood on your family's threshold. The used condoms hanging on your door for all neighbours to see, and the thousand messages calling you ugly names for months on end.
"You're no hero." You mumble under your breath, digging your nails deep into your palms - desperate to keep your tongue behind your teeth. But he hears you - he always does, and he just nods in agreement, coming close. Coming to take you.
Raven stands before you, hovering over you with one hand on the ashtray and the other tilting your chin up so you'd have no choice but to look at him and him alone. "Perhaps you're right." He admits, taking a puff off his long cigarette and blowing it in your face right after - simply in love with the way your eyes narrow in frustrated defiance as you wave away the thick smoke. "Perhaps I am not the hero, but the monster. The dragon." He laughs to himself, stubbing out the burning fag. You don't know what it is that he finds so funny, but you wish you knew so you could laugh along instead of crying.
He cages you in against the sofa, causing you to press even harder against the soft backrest. The message is clear - you'd let the house consume you before you let him as much as kiss you.
"It fits the story nicely, don't you think?" The man remarks, playing with a strand of your hair gleefuly just like a child would. You assume he derives some sick pleasure from touching you so casually - from caressing you, petting you, holding you. It's not even sexual, but it always shakes you to your core, and maybe for him that's the best part - where you can't go anywhere, but in his arms.
"Huh?" You break from your thoughts, growing confused. "Your analogy." He explains while still all over you. "It makes sense. I fought for you, and I won you fair and square." His eyes light up with the ferocity of a hunter. "I wanted you so I took you like the greedy bastard I am. I have no regrets - and if that makes me a villain, then so be it. I will burn the world down if it means you'd be all mine." His fist wraps around your loose locks, almost gentle, but not quite. There is something unnatural in his smile - you can't help, but imagine blood dripping from his chin. "But there is something your magic tales get wrong." Raven whispers diabolically, snapping his fingers. Everything goes dark - and his coat slips down on the floor.
"W-what?" You ask, shaking like a leaf - both afraid and deadly curious. You try to sharpen your senses, but you remain blind to his shadow - and the way it moves right between your legs, positioning them around his hips. You feel his manhood prod at your pubic bone, and you heart sinks to your stomach. "The ending." Your captor mutters, pushing you on your back, and you curse the electronic chair when it goes all the way down with little fight. "The moment when the cards are on the table..." He all but tears off the first button of your shirt. "And the princess is all alone with the monster. Face to face - with nowhere to go."
His tongue is hot on your neck - you try to push him off, but he pins down your wrists with feral force, growling like a wild beast. "And this time no one is coming to save her."

Roommate or boss?
part 1, part 3, part 4
Pairing: f!reader x Katsuki Bakugou.
Warnings: cursing, maybe a little bit of suggestive language.
Word count: 2079 words.
Tumblr media
Having Katsuki as a roommate proved to be not that bad. He was almost never home apart from most evenings, and when he was home, he minded his own business.
It’s not like he didn’t acknowledge you to be under his same roof, he was a decent guy, even if he swore a lot.
After sleeping in the guest room for a month, he painted it like he said he would at the beginning, and it took him 3 days. He had to sleep on the couch to not inhale the fumes, and you heard him cursing every morning.
“Can you keep it down? Jeez, it’s 7 am” you say coming out of your room, having heard the commotion in the living room.
“You have to change this shit of a couch. My back hurts so fucking much. My feet don’t even fucking stay on the couch while I sleep ‘cause of how fucking small it is” he barks at you.
“Not my fault you’re big” you say yawning, while rubbing your eyes and going straight towards the coffee machine. You hated having early lectures.
He scoffs. You widen your eyes, shooting him a mean look.
“I meant to say you’re tall” you add.
“Huh? And what would even be the other meaning? Freak” he says flipping you off and sitting himself at the table.
“Whatever” you mumble, putting your coffee in a cup.
“Give me some” he says stretching his hand.
“Make it yourself, big guy” you reply, sticking your tongue out and going towards your own room.
“OI! And here I was about to make you breakfast in exchange” he loudly says.
You turn around and smile at him sweetly. “Roomieeee you didn’t have toooo” you say, trying to hug him.
You know he hates physical contact. He told you so after you accidentally touched his hand passing him the salt one day at dinner. He jumped out of his chair like he was burned by your touch.
“GET OFF OF ME YOU GREMLIN!”.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, things at work could be going better. Your manager came back the day after your talk with Kirishima, and saying that she was pissed off and nervous at the same time would be an understatement.
For the weeks after, she was nicer than she ever was with the clients, but meaner with you and your colleagues. Bitch.
One day you’re cleaning the milk machine when Momo comes behind you.
“I heard the boss came to know about her little escapades and he wasn’t happy” she whispers in your ear.
You throw her a sneaky look before admitting “it might be my fault”.
Momo gasps. “What? Why haven’t you told me anything?” she whisper yells now.
“Shh! It happened last month. You know the guy with the spikey red hair?” you ask her, and she nods.
“Apparently, he’s the boss’s right hand. He told me the boss needed her and I told him she left” you calmly explain.
“I hope she doesn’t come to know it was you who told him that. She’s already making our life a living hell” she sighs.
“Whatever” you say rolling your eyes. “I’m clocking out, see you tomorrow?”.
“As always, babe”.
While you’re going out, you shoot a text to your new roommate. You’re feeling lazy, but you don’t want to feel lazy alone.
You: ordering takeout right now. Do you want something?
Katsuki (roommate): who dis
You: Katsuki are you for real?
You: I’m your roommate
You: you didn’t even save my number?
Katsuki (roommate): wtv
Katsuki (roommate): get me wings
Katsuki (roommate): extra spicy
You: sorry, who’s this???
Katsuki (roommate): petty bitch
Katsuki (roommate): im locking the door
You: I’m calling the firefighters down the street and you’re gonna pay for the new door then
Katsuki (roommate): just get me fkn wings woman
You roll your eyes. This man is insufferable.
Tumblr media
“What are you doing Saturday night?” you say while munching on your chips on the couch.
Katsuki is cooking dinner for the both of you. He’s been living with you for the past 4 months now. You’ve grown accustomed to his antics, and he’s done the same with yours. For example, he knew how you tended to overcook his eggs. And since he hated that, he cooked them himself, just like he was doing right now.
“Hopefully not seeing your ugly face” he grumbles. He watches you over his shoulder and puckers his lips. “Why are you so fucking disgusting? I always find crumbs of everything on that fucking couch”.
You roll your eyes. “Just answer the question, Bakugou”.
“Not gonna be home. I have to run errands at work. You bringing some scum over? I’m not cleaning stains on top of your shitty crumbs on that couch”.
He’s not paying attention to what you do anymore, cutting up vegetables.
“And I’m the disgusting one? Ew” you cringe. “Ochaco and I wanted to have girl’s night. It’s been a while since we’ve done that, but her roommates are at home”.
“Short girl, brown hair, round face?” He asks.
“Yeah”. You’re surprised he remembers, but it’s true that you’re basically always calling her.
“Don’t mind. When’s your next shift? You’re next on the “cleaning the bathroom” list”. He adds.
You barely ever talk about work: he said that he’s some type of accountant and he knows you’re some kind of barista. After all, you both don’t care about what the other does if you both still pay rent on time.
You like these little moments you have with him. They don’t happen that often, but it’s like you’re bonding over time. He doesn’t look like he thinks the same, though. Most of the time he voices that you’re “pissing him the fuck off with all your stupid fucking questions”.
“Tomorrow morning, and then on Sunday. It’s weird now that my ex-manager isn’t around anymore, our schedules are much more organised. I wonder why she got fired” you say thoughtful.
Katsuki stiffens up. Your manager has been fired the same week he fired Camie? Must be a coincidence, a lot of extras are shitty workers anyways. He shrugs it off.
He turns abruptly to face you and he scares you so bad you throw the chips in the bowl lying on your lap on your face. He laughs like a maniac.
“Why did you do that?! I get it, you’re a clean freak! Okay! I’ll clean the damn bathroom!” You angrily say.
“Curry is ready, rat” he says, wiping his tears.
“Great, now I’m a rat too?”. Katsuki has this bad habit of always forgetting names and just giving everyone mean nicknames.
“With all those cheese chips on your face? Yes, dumbass” and he starts laughing again.
“It’s all your fault!” you whine, and then help him set the table. You might be annoyed, but you know his curry is bomb.
Tumblr media
You’re so happy to be free from Camie’s claws that you and Ochaco drink more than you normally do on Saturday night.
You’re both lying lazily on your bed when she’s telling you about her new boyfriend. He’s the same guy from that one physics assignment (which, by the way, you didn’t fail), and she calls him Deku.
“I swear you’d like him Y/N. He’s so shy, but his arms are so biteable” she dreamily sighs.
You look up at the ceiling before answering “and what’s the correlation between any of the statements you just made?”.
She throws you a punch. “Why are you lucid still? Just… blabber!” she complains.
You chuckle. “I’m so getting an aspirin for tomorrow morning, for both me and you. Just go under the covers and sleep while I’m gone, okay?”.
She nods and you stand up, wobbling towards your kitchen.
“You know, you still haven’t delved into how good or bad things are going with your new roommate” she suddenly says. “You know I need the details”.
You lean on the wall next to your door for some stability before thinking about it.
“He’s good, I guess. We talk here and there when we’re both home, he told me he’s enrolled in economy. He seems rough but he knows how to cook some bomb ass curry, so I’ll keep him” you sluggishly reply. Damn, you really drank too much.
“Yeah Y/N you’ve told me this much. But do you find him hot? Did any of you just enter the bathroom not knowing the other was in it?” your best friend mumbles.
“He locks the door before doing anything” you roll your eyes, then wince because it has hurt your head.
“He’s mean, but he takes the time to be a good roommate I guess? I’d like to know him more than he lets others know, yeah, but he’s not very talkative. To be honest, I think that he’s scared to let people in. I’m probably too invasive for him” you ramble on.
“Did you even hear what I said?” you ask after the silence stretches too long, but the only things replying to your question are your best friend’s snores.
You sigh, then continue going to your kitchen.
It takes a while for you to find the medicine, and when you do, you hear your front door being opened.
With your mind still hazy, you recognise Katsuki’s figure.
“Hi” you tell him.
“Hello? God, you reek. You’re becoming a rat more and more each day” he roughly says while getting his coat off and on the hanger.
“How was work?” you continue, ignoring his comment.
He looks you up and down. He thinks you look kinda cute with your cheeks tinted pink and your hair ruffled, but he’s really tired. “Good, mind your fucking business though. I’m gonna sleep”.
You look hurt for a second, then relax your features. He always answers this way.
You take a good look at him. The light that enters from the window behind your couch makes his face barely visible; with the moonlight as your only aid, you take a moment longer than usual to just stare at him. Broad, blonde, big shoulders, a light scowl on his face, red eyes that seem to follow your every move. Maybe, in his next life, he could be a hero.
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re, like, really pretty?” you stumble out.
He looks at you like you’ve just said the dumbest thing ever.
“What the fuck are you saying? Just let me go to sleep and go do whatever the fuck you were doing before”.
“I said you look really fucking hot, Katsuki” you repeat, kind of annoyed. “It’s not like I asked you to cut your hand and offer your blood for a sacrifice, fuck. Why do you have to be so rude?” you spit out.
He’s surprised. “That’s not the words you used the first time. Pretty and hot don’t mean the same thing” he says, faking that he hasn’t heard your outburst, while stepping closer to you.
“Whatever” you mumble.
He stops in front of you. Maybe he’s been kind of rude lately because the situation at work hasn’t been the best. He fired Camie because he repeatedly heard she wasn’t capable of doing anything good on top of being mean to her colleagues, but finding another manager was stressing him out. He wanted to fire her as soon as he came to know her behaviour the first time, but Kirishima said neither of them had enough time to deal with her father. As much as this infuriated him, he was right. They were in their last year, and university wasn’t gonna finish itself.
You’re looking up at him with a scowl. “Let’s both go to sleep, m’kay? You don’t know what you’re saying” he says, nicer than any other time he talked to you. In the back of your mind, you notice he isn’t cursing anymore.
You keep on mumbling something and almost trip on your feet trying to get to your room.
You’re about to fall when he picks you up bridal style and goes to get you in your room himself.
Just before you fall asleep in his arms (how strong is he? He’s not even straining) you put your head on his shoulder.
“Thanks, sorry, I’m really drunk. I didn’t want to invade your privacy” you say.
He just shushes you up before telling you to sleep.
And just before you pass out, you notice he smells faintly like coffee.

Imagine Shanks finding out you're a painter
Tumblr media
You: *humming along to some music as you apply a fresh coat of paint to the wall of the galley*
Benn and Lucky Roux: *walk in*
Benn: Hey Kid.
You: Hey
Lucky Roux: Did you make sure to use the mold resistant paint?
You: Yes Roux.
Benn: And you applied the sealant before the paint?
You: *nods your head* And the primer, I got this man, thanks for checking in on me.
Benn: Alright then, I'm just gonna open this here winder to get some fresh air in here, so you don't get high off the paint fumes.
You: aww, but that's the best part.
Lucky Roux: *snorts* Let me know when you're done, so I can start dinner. Also, when you are done, you might want to put up a barrier, so none of the others accidentally lean on it.
You: I enjoy seeing them covered in paint. So I think they're gonna be in for a surprise, or at least the boss will be. Because I bet you a thousand berry that he's definitely gonna lean in the paint.
Lucky Roux: I'll take that bet.
Benn: I ain't, because he'll definitely gonna do it.
Tumblr media
The next morning
Shanks: *Still annoyed that he got paint in his hair the night before* is this shit finally dry?
Benn: yeah, the kid didn't paint in straight lines though.
Shanks: what! But they're usually so meticulous about doing tasks perfectly.
Benn: it was on purpose too, take a close look.
Shanks: *leans in and glides his fingers across a floral design in the brush strokes* do you think they like painting?
Benn: I believe so, that, or they inhaled too much paint fumes and decided to have fun with it.
Shanks: both are possible... Didn't they repaint the hallway, and bathrooms?
Benn: yeah? They painted patterns there too.
Tumblr media
Weeks later
Shanks: Hey (y/n) I got you something! *Presents you with a colorful variety of house paints, and a bunch of supplies*
You: ... Wow, that's a lot of paint, are you wanting me to repaint every room on the ship?
Shanks: no silly, for you to have fun with. We noticed the patterns you painted in the galley and thought you might like more colors.
You: but where would I paint?
Shanks: where ever you'd like.
You: *Kisses him on the cheek, scoops up the supplies, and runs to your room*, Thank you!
Tumblr media
Two days later in the galley
You: I finished my room is it okay if I paint this wall now?
Shanks: Go for it.
Benn: *watches you run off* they painted their whole room you know.
Shanks: I saw, I was impressed they managed to paint such steady line work with the ship moving so much.
Benn: I think the little maze design the pained on their door frame was my favorite. Do you think they take requests?
Shanks: I dunno.
You: *pushes the box of supplies onto one of the tables*
Benn: is it okay if I asked you to paint something?
You: sure!
Yassop: Wait, you take requests! I want the pillar in my room painted.
The crew: *crowd around you listing off the things they want painted*
Shanks: Guys, let em breathe for fuck's sake! Make a list so they can start painting.
Lucky Roux: I ain't writing down my request because it's simple, don't paint any more realistic bug on the damn walls. I nearly shit myself when I saw the cockroach you painted in the bathroom, that was not a fun surprise at three in the morning.
You: only termite holes, got it.
Lucky Roux: (y/n) no! No termite holes.
You: fine fine, although the fact that the paint on that cockroach didn't even get to dry before one of y'all smacked it, is hilarious.
Shanks: no more realistic bugs, dear, in fact avoid painting realistic critters all together please.
You: ugh fine.
Shanks: I have a project I'd like you to paint, but I'll need to get you a canvas for it. *Winks at you and wiggles his eyebrows*
Benn: Gross.... if he's getting a nude I want one too.
Shanks: You want my nudes too?
Benn: I want a nude of myself, ding-dong.

cherry cola, cigarette kisses
pairing: guitarist!toji fushiguro x singer!reader
warnings: slight age gap (reader is 25, toji is 30), mentions of drugs and alcohol, smoking, swearing.
a/n: a little drabble for the ‘jujutsu journal’ collab by @ayyy-pee. dividers by @/benkeibear. toji drabble collection here.
Tumblr media
people came to see the band live really just to catch a glimpse of the two of them in person.
of her, with her cream linen summer dresses, lips painted red like the cans of cherry cola she drank on stage between sets, dainty gold rings adorning her fingers, silk red ribbons tied in pretty big bows on her wrists, and matching platform heels. her with a voice so cool and suave, like ice, that it made all the boys go crazy for her.
and of him, toji fushiguro. with his cigarette smoke voice, all husk and fire, and veiny hands that held his guitar with practiced finesse. with his guitar solos that made you want to throw your head back in ecstasy, and his rolled-up sleeves to expose his corded forearms, driving the girls wild with desire.
people came to see them play and see the way they moved together.
when she sang, toji would close his eyes and tilt his head back, lost in the ecstasy that was the privilege of listening to her art. plucking the strings of his electric guitar along to play a tune to support her voice, like a flowing stream carrying along a floating feather. he let the vibrations of the bass through the speakers and reverberate into his bones, feeling the thrum of the crowd with their phone lights flashing and swaying, and inhaling the scent of sweat and dreams in the air.
god, his girlfriend was so fucking cool, and they all didn’t even know the half of it.
they didn’t know how pretty she looked when she danced naked in the dark in front of their penthouse views of the city lights below. with red wine swirling in her glass amidst a smokey haze, he’d exhale a big fume of his joint, and think to himself that he was so goddamn lucky to have picked up that crumpled, wet ‘guitarist wanted’ flyer all those years ago.
of course, the world didn’t know just how lucky toji was just yet.
she’d sing such pretty words, especially about the world thinking you were too young to understand the things you felt. words about everyone telling you that you couldn’t possibly grasp the way things were supposed to work, when in fact, you actually did – perhaps better than everyone else did. toji had been one of those things for her before. their bandmates had been adamantly against the older man pursuing her when they first met four years ago. she was their sweet little cherry, and they didn’t want the ash of him and his cigarettes falling on and ruining her delicate skin.
“she’s too young,” they’d all said. “too dumb to know what you are, fushiguro.”
toji had let their words get to him, the indignant and prideful fire within razing everything to the ground, and disappeared into his studio apartment with only his bong for company. he’d been there for a long time, refusing to answer any of her or the band’s calls, until she showed up knocking at his door in the middle of the night. her makeup was smeared and her vanilla scented perfume still lingered, while he was lost halfway in a dream of minefields, complex labyrinths, and booby traps.
“don’t leave me too,” she’d begged, a tumbling mess of tears, and practically collapsed as she gripped his arms for all she was worth. “not you, please.”
he melted into her right there and then.
toji shushed her softly, holding her close as they lay there in a tangled heap on the floor. he watched as his tears landed on her hair, feeling his high crashing down. “but i’m no good for you, babygirl.”
“nobody is good for each other, toji. love is fucking awful and tears your heart apart, but i still want to do it with you.”
and that was that.
but nobody else knew about them.
they’d been a secret for two years now, and toji had decided that this was it – she was it. his best girl, no other woman would ever compare to her. but she was so nervous, always so good, about what their bandmates and the fans would think. she didn’t want to break anybody’s heart, but toji didn’t care about that anymore.
they belonged to each other, and fuck, the whole world needed to know it. and if they didn’t like it? well, they could go and choke on it.
she swayed back and forth, staring at toji with heart eyes, and and teasingly stuck her tongue out to the side. that was his cue, and the fans knew it too, for him to take control of the music with his fingers and let himself and his guitar run wild. of course, it was to put on a good show, but he knew it was really because she loved his guitar solos more than anyone else did.
“i want you to play guitar for me all the time,” she said one time, teeth stained gray from the wine, twirling in lazy circles as toji strummed his acoustic guitar. “especially when i die, so i can hear the sound of heaven before i go.”
toji abruptly stopped playing and frowned, “don’t even talk about something like that. i’m supposed to go before you anyways, y’know i’m the old one.
“shut up, i can’t live without you.”
he stared at her as he played, never taking his eyes off how she danced and swayed. he watched as she went over to their drummer and pressed a kiss to their cheek. a hot flare of jealousy coursed through his blood, and toji picked up the pace, forcing their drummer to focus and step it up a notch to keep up with him. sweat dripped from his forehead, his dark hair sticking to it in stringy strands, and he licked his lips, tasting salt.
“yeah,” toji thought. “it’s do or die now.”
she took a swig of cherry cola, lipstick stains on the rim, as toji coaxed his solo into an earth-shattering crescendo, sending the crowd into a frenzy of whoops and cheers. still, he never took his eyes off her, following her every movement as he stopped the music suddenly in a dramatic conclusion.
the crowd clapped for the end of the song, and toji lit a cigarette to settle his buzzing nerves, his chest heaving with exertion. she floated over to him, smiling softly, red lipstick slightly faded from the cola, licking her lips as she tilted her head at him. he knew she could read him like a book; she knew something was wrong.
“what is it?” she whispered, being careful not to face the crowd directly.
“let’s do it, babygirl,” toji rasped, taking another long drag from his cigarette.
her eyebrows shot up, and she gaped. “now, toji? right now?”
“yeah, c’mon. let’s drive ‘em all crazy,” he chuckled, blowing his smoke away from her face.
“you mean it, toji?” she frowned, her pretty little heart so goddamn nervous about everyone else’s feelings but her own.
toji flicked his cigarette, adjusted his guitar to his side, and smiled. “let’s not think anymore, let’s just do.”
with that, he pulled her in by the waist and planted a kiss right onto her plush lips. bitter cigarette and sweet cherry flavors mixed intoxicatingly as their mouths danced together, eliciting shocked gasps followed by an almost deathly silence.
and then, it exploded.
the camera flashes went astronomically wild, accompanied cheering that bordered on plain screaming and raving, as a thousand hearts broke and millions swooned. she relaxed into him, putting her hands onto his broad, sweaty chest, flushed from the heat of the moment and the thrill of performing. they pulled apart, his lips swollen and hers tingly, and it was just the two of them amidst the eyes of thousands. she giggled, a nervous bark at the revelation of how their lives were going to change now, and toji beamed.
“you’re trouble, toji fushiguro,” she breathed out, chin on his chest as she gazed up at him in adoration.
toji chuckled, pressing a kiss to her forehead and mumbled, “i’m your trouble.”

random thoughts #4 (14:44)
Tumblr media
Every Tuesday night, bakugou comes over to get his nails painted.
It starts completely begrudgingly, originally only starting because your room smelt like acetone and it was creeping into his room- somehow, some way, and you’re pretty sure it wasn’t actually, he just wanted to come over and start some shit. You'd merely sighed and told him to mind his business.
"Who shit in your cereal?" he'd snarled, and when you just scoffed and started to close your door, he jammed his foot in, "you are so not shutting me the fuck out. be so fuckin' for real."
"as fun as you think this conversation is," you begin, having mercy on his foot and opening the door, "I just want to finish my nails and go to bed. please."
he snarls and looks into your room, then back at you. "something happened."
you shrug, "nothing bad. just not happy. don’t have to be happy all the time, no one knows that more than you.”
"you're upset, no matter what it was." his voice is softer now, and he takes a deep breath in before crossing his arms and blinking at you slowly. "you want some company?"
"no," you say flatly before moving to close the door. once again, his foot jams in the way.
"hang on," he says, grunting. "you... you shouldn't have to be upset and alone. been there, fuckin' blows."
"and why would you, the impenetrable bakugou katsuki care about me being upset?"
"well, for fuckin' one-" he gestures a hand around, "i smell fuckin' popcorn and nail polish and fuckin' sprinkle fart coming out of here, and it reeks."
you tuck your tongue in your cheek to hide your laughter.
"and two-" this time, his eyes meet up to you. He struggles briefly to find words, mouth opening and twitching as he struggles to find them. “I’ll… let you rant while you paint my nails.”
The both of you quirk your brows as if you don’t know where the words came from, but you decide this was better than having him lecture you about the importance of friendship or some shit.
“Bakugou,” you sing, and he grits his teeth. “Did you come over for me to paint your nails?”
He takes a deep inhale through his nose to calm down. “Sure did. If that will make you feel better.” He’s fuming. You’re finally starting to relish in this a little more.
You shrug, “who knows? Maybe it will?” You step to the side to let him in. “You wanna find out? Maybe it’ll get a stick out of your ass too.”
Bakugou snarls one more time at you before stepping into your room. “Smells like shit.”
“It’s acetone.”
“What’s that for?”
“Taking off nail polish.”
“But you don’t have nail polish on.”
“Not anymore; sit down bombshell, and give me your paws.”
And even though he kicked and screamed the whole time as you tore up his unkempt cuticles and cleaned them with the acetone, he was able to finally shut the hell up as you hook him up with a deep, solid red to match his eyes.
“How’d you get so good at this?” He asks.
“Don’t touch anything; and I’ve just been doing it a while.” Then you shrug, “and I’ve been painting Shinsou’s nails since he got here.”
“MINDREADER?!”
“He asked. You didn’t.”
“Never again. You go to me. Fuck him.”
You smirk, “you jealous?”
He doesn’t say a word. But from then on, it was just Katsuki coming to knock on your door every Tuesday, plopping on your floor and letting you paint his newly grown nails, be it in silence or you two talking about your thoughts.
You’d never expect him to be such good company 🥺🩷

The first time you meet the infamous Joel Miller is in his and Tess’s apartment in one of the few available Boston QZ apartments. Rumor on the street is that Joel and Tess are an item. When in all actuality, they’re business partners that occasionally fuck. His options, however, are not just limited to Tess. He likes to keep that part of his business on the low. He’s got a reputation, sure. But he doesn’t boast it proudly like a peacock. He knows his expertise, and he knows it well. His purpose in the structure of the QZ was smuggling. He’d bring pills, booze, ammo, guns, and anything else that was desirable. He’d trade for ration cards; a hefty amount of them. Sometimes, he’d allow his customers to trade their bodies, but he was quite picky, and it ain’t had anything to do with women’s appearances. In that department, he indulged in all body types. What he was most intrigued about was their minds. Their ability to survive, and most importantly, what they desired most in this shit-hole world.
He liked it when they were verbal. Silence was not a name in his game. He liked it when they showed up at his doorstep knowing exactly what it was that they wanted from him. He could play all the cards, and he played them well. He could be empathetic if they asked for it. He could pretend to love them just for the night. He could yank their hair, dig his nails into their flesh and call them a dirty, useless whore, but only if it was requested. See, he wasn’t all that brutal of a man, but if you weren’t careful and direct, he might send you home with more than just an ache between your thighs. He knew how to fuck, and he enjoyed it almost as much as he enjoyed beating a man senseless, almost.
You, however, held no interest to know what laid beneath his weathered jeans. You showed up wanting one thing, and one thing only. A vice to fill the hole in the void of your heart. You knew that Joel Miller’s menu was just what the doctor ordered.
Tess and Joel were seated at the kitchen table going through their supplies for the day. They had their usual customers, but Joel was always intrigued to see new faces walk through his door.
A cigarette dangled between his lips as he flipped through a stack of ration cards. The scent of tobacco wafted through the cracks in the door frame as your knuckles rapped firmly along the chipped paint. You knocked once, then twice five seconds later. It was customary like a code. Not that Joel or Tess had any concerns with FEDRA; they were a part of his regular cycle of customers too.
“Come in.” His voice was thick, deep, and dripping with authority.
The tip of the cigarette glowed bright orange as he inhaled the toxic fumes. The nicotine that coursed through his system calmed his nerves. Everyone had their own skeletons in their closets after all.
He paused his counting momentarily as he listened to the door handle squeak before it was pushed open.
“Sit.” He rasped with his freehand gesturing to the open seat in front of the table. “State your business.”
You watched the way the smoke coiled around his head like an ashy halo through the stagnant air. His brow cocked in your direction as his eyes zoned in on the stack of ration cards that you pulled from your jacket pocket.
“I was told that your menu is designed to cater to one's vices. I’m needin’ a bottle of booze, and a pack of smokes if you got any.” You placed the ration cards along the table before leaning back against the chairs frame.
“We ain’t got a whole pack, unfortunately. Five cards gets you five sticks, and three gets ya a bottle of hooch.” He declared in his warm Texas twang.
He was handsome, you’d give him that satisfaction only.
“I’ve got ten cards total. How about you throw’n two more smokes to make it even?” You countered smoothly as you crossed your arms against your chest.
“A negotiator, huh? Well, I'll tell ya what, girlie. Y’got yourself a deal. Y’new around here? Ain’t seen ya before.” He knew pretty much every face in the QZ. But yours remained a mystery. He wasn’t all too big of a fan of mysteries.
“Don’t think that is any of your concern, Joel.” You ignored his question as you passed off the cards.
“True.” He mused with a grin tugging across his lips. ‘S’alright. I’ll jus’ end up findin’ out about you in my own way.” He shrugged with the utmost casualness that sent your blood boiling under the surface. “Besides, my customers always end up comin’ back for more.” He grabbed a bottle of hooch and seven freshly rolled cigarettes concealed in tinfoil.
“There ain’t much for you to find out. Wouldn’t go wastin’ your time.” You grabbed the bottle swiftly before tucking it into the inner lining of your jacket. Before he could send you on your way, however, you unrolled the tinfoil to inspect the handiwork. Once you were satisfied with the merch, you plucked one of the cigarettes and placed it between your lips. “You got a light I can borrow?”
His nose twitched and his eyes squinted tightly before he reached into his pocket and pulled out a lighter. He beckoned you silently to lean in as he ignited the flame.
“Y’know, these are a nasty habit to break.” He leaned back into his chair with his own cigarette dying between his lips. “Ain’t nothin’ like a good ole’ fashioned nicotine addiction.”
You scoffed under your breath as you took a deep inhale of the cancerous smoke that filled your lungs. “Says the man puffin’ away on one right in front of my face.”
He didn’t even look half fazed by your remark as he blew the smoke drifting from his lips off to the side.
You stared at one another a second longer before you stood up from your chair and snatched the cigarettes from the table.
“It was a pleasure doing business with you, Joel Miller. See ya around.”
Before he could respond, you were already slipping back out his apartment door and into the hallway.
“Man, she’s got a pair of balls on her, huh?” Tess mused from her seat alongside him.
“Yeah,” He smirked. “She sure does.”
The next time you saw Joel Miller was a few weeks later. You were assigned with assisting in dumping deceased infected into the deep pits where their flesh would be burned and melted away and all that would be remaining was their brittle bones. You had done this job enough times to get used to the putrid stench of rotting flesh. Others, however, couldn’t stand the smell. Some would pass out, others would empty what little was in their stomachs.
A denim-clad shoulder brushed against you as you lifted another body from the truck bed.
“Fancy seein’ you here, Angel.” Joel’s voice was muffled through the bandana he wore across his face, but you knew it was him just from that Texas twang of his.
Your eyes rolled back as walked past him and dropped the body into the flames that engulfed it.
“C’mon now.” He mused. “I know y’heard me.” He pressed.
“Fuck off, Joel.” You muttered under your breath as you bumped his shoulder harshly.
“Y’break that nasty habit yet?” He asked with a twinge of curiosity.
“Nope. Don’t plan on it either.”
Much to your relief, he walked away without speaking another word. It was short-lived however as he was standing right behind you in line to receive your ration cards for the day. The air was hot and almost unbearable as you wiped the sweat of your brow along your sleeve. When the cards were placed into your outstretched palm you shoved them deep into your pocket. The pay wasn’t worth the work that you put in.
Before you could disappear around the corner of the alley to head home, a hand grasped your shoulder rather firmly and before you could reach for your concealed weapon, your back was met with something hard that nearly knocked the air from your lungs.
Joel Miller.
“Just what the fuck do you think you’re doin’, Joel?!” You hissed under your breath as he flipped you around to face him.
“Got a proposition for ya, girlie. Trust me, you’ll want in.” His voice dipped down an octave as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a packet of pills. Painkillers you suspected. The kind of shit that people could easily find themselves getting addicted to.
“And what makes you fuckin’ think that I would wanna do anythin’ for you?” What the fuck was this guys problem? The nerve he had.
“Cus’ I know there’s somethin’ that you want. Somethin’ that you need. Besides, you ain’t gonna make it long here if you don’t start usin’ people. S’the only way to survive in this world now. So, here’s what you’re gonna do. Tess and I wanna branch out further and in order to do that, we gotta get the rest of FEDRA off our backs.”
“You ain’t know shit about me, Joel. I’m doin’ just fine on my own.” You ripped your arm from his grasp, but he was quicker than you expected.
“I ain’t askin’ you, Angel. I’m tellin.’ Now, you’re gonna take these pills, and you’re gonna go on over to those guys o’there, and you’re gonna trade them. Y’get half the ration cards from the deal. Seem fair?” His tall stature loomed over you like a shadow being casted across the sun. Everything about this man was massive. His hands. His bulging arms. His shoulders. He was built like a fucking fridge, and he clearly wasn’t taking no for an answer.
“Is this what you do to all of your customers? Corner them into alleys and force them to do your dirty work for you?” You scoffed as you ripped the baggy from his hand. “And I get all the cards. I ain’t gonna let you just go and boss me around for half.”
“Jus’ the pretty ones that have a mouth to ‘em.” He mused with a wicked grin. “Fine. Y’get all the cards, but only if they agree to trade. Go on now, Angel. Time's a tickin away.” He nudged you forward with the palm of his calloused hand resting along your lower back.
“Asshole.” You hissed under your breath as you stashed the pills into your pocket before departing from the alley. If there was one thing you were good at, it was getting men to give you exactly what you wanted. You could flutter your lashes, giggle, flirt a little and their little egos would be crushed to dust beneath your fingertips.
“Hey boys, got a minute?” You spoke in a honeyed voice as the three officers diverted their attention towards you.
Joel watched from the shadows of the alley as you worked your charm like a fiddle. He was impressed with your natural skills. You certainly were no pushover. He did wonder if this was all a facade that you wore confidently. He thought briefly about what it would be like to have you beneath his sheets. What would you request from him? Would you ask him to be sweet and gentle? To fuck you like a man oughta? Or, would you be willing to share your deepest, darkest, filthy desires with him? He hoped for the latter.
When the deal was done, you made your way back across the street. Maybe Joel Miller was right. Maybe you should start using people for what they have. Who gave a fuck about morale anyway?
“How’d it go?” he inquired with his broad arms crossed against his chest as he leaned back against the brick wall.
“They wouldn’t take the bait unfortunately.” You let out a faux sigh. “Guess the deal is off.”
“What a shame, Angel. I surely thought you had it in ya. Guess I was wrong. Oh well. Good luck to ya.” He pushed himself off the wall only to find himself being pushed right up against it. Your palm lay flat against his chest as your freehand reached into your pocket and pulled out a single ration card.
His brow raised curiously as you went to slip the card into his back pocket. His eyes widened when he felt the warmth of your fingers searing through his jeans. At this close proximity, he got a proper whiff of your natural scent, and his cock pathetically twitched in the tight confines of the denim.
“Here’s your half of the deal. Decided to be generous.” You whispered through the thick growing tension.
His hand reached up to grab your wrist but before he could make contact with your skin, you were already stepping away from his reach. Your fingers rose in a mock salute before you turned on your heel and walked away.
Fuck. She’s perfect.
The next time Joel Miller saw you it's past curfew. Hours to be exact. The Boston QZ streets are quiet sans the labored breathing and deep grunts coming from a group of low-life scumbags.
“I already told you, I don’t have shit on me!” You emptied out your pockets to show these fuckers that you weren’t messing around. Would raw honesty really keep these men from tearing you apart?
“Bullshit. Y’got stuff back at your place, right? C’mon now darlin’, don’t lie to us. We’ve seen you hangin’ around Miller. Y’workin’ with him?” The man that had you pinned against the brick wall pressed further.
“Oh, for fuck sakes! Are y’all really that boneheaded to think that i’m gonna be carryin’ merch on me out in the open like this?!” You yelled out of frustration as you tried to pin your wrists free to reach your concealed knife.
“How about you shut the fuck up and tell us where Joel’s apartment is, and we won’t have to kill you. How’s that sound?” The man twisted your wrists tightly to the point where you were just waiting to hear a sickening crack.
“I don’t know where his apartment is, asshole. And even if I did know, I wouldn’t tell the likes of you because i’m not a fuckin’ rat!” You hissed between your gritted teeth as you threw your head back in one swift movement right into the face of the man that was holding you hostage. His nose crunched audibly from the force as he stumbled back right onto his ass.
Blood pooled and gushed down his lips as he yelled out a slew of profanities in your direction. Just as you were reaching for your knife, it was knocked from your grasp and clattered to the concrete out of your reach.
A fist collided with your face that sent you slamming into the brick wall with your ears wildly ringing.
You detected a familiar voice through your half-conscious haze as you slumped down to the ground with a labored wheeze.
A sickening crunch, followed by a strangled yell as Joel had one of the men in a headlock. Their body dropped to the ground like a bag of bricks. Eyes forever unmoving. The man that you headbutted was desperately trying to crawl away as Joel staggered after him. He bent down, grasping the hilt of your knife in his calloused palm.
His pupils were dark like a never ending black pit as he sent his steel-toed boot colliding into his gut over and over again. The man’s wails died in his throat as Joel flipped him over onto his back and slit his throat with one fatal swipe. Blood spurted from the entry wound and speckled Joel’s skin in a spray of crimson.
The third man almost got away, but Joel fired a bullet right into his spine without a second thought.
He focused his attention on you as he crouched down, knife still in his grasp, dripping with blood onto the pavement. His freehand grasped your face gently as he assessed your injuries. His good ear detected the sound of tires crunching under gravel; FEDRA.
“Angel, we need to go. We need to move. NOW.” He spoke urgently as he tucked your knife away before placing that hand along your shoulder. “FEDRA is gonna be here any minute, and I don’t know about you, but my ass is NOT bein’ thrown in lockup!”
When you didn’t immediately respond to his dire request, he took matters into his own hands, literally. You felt his strong arms lift you from the ground as if you weighed nothing. He left the crime scene in a flash. He was speaking to you, but you couldn’t detect his words as his mouth was moving too fast.
The last thing you remembered seeing was his dark, espresso brown eyes, and his blood spattered skin.
“Need’ya to open your eyes for me, sweetheart. C’mon. Guy knocked ya pretty good, but you’ll live.” Joel murmured close to your face as you were coming to.
What the fuck.
Your lashes fluttered for a moment and then snapped open. Despite the ache in your face from being punched, and the pounding in your skull, you immediately shot your hands upwards and shoved harshly at his broad chest.
“Joel?! What the actual fuck–”
“Ah, there she is. The sleepin’ beauty awakes, finally!” He’s grinning like a cheshire cat as he moves off the couch to give you space to breathe.
“What the fuck are you doin’ here, Joel?”
“Wow.” He tuts under his breath dissaprovingly. “Can’t even get a thank you for savin’ your fuckin’ life?”
“I had the situation handled on my own. What the hell were you doin’ out past curfew anyway?” You sat up a little too fast as blood rushed to your head.
His strong hands were gently easing you back down to a lying position before he was backing off again.
“Easy now, Angel. I wouldn’t sit up a’that fast if I were you.” He warned you sternly.
“Well, good thing you aren’t me, huh?” You snapped back as you swung your legs over the side of the couch.
This time he was more forceful in his actions as his hands pressed down on your shoulders firmly. “I said, stay put. God, can’t you jus’ fuckin’ listen to me when I tell ya to take it easy? You’re gonna bust your nose back open, and the stitches on the back of your head. Just chill the fuck out.” You could taste his hot breath on his tongue and feel his pulse quicken. The bulging veins in his neck protruded through the thin skin.
You swallowed harshly as your gaze wavered along the remnants of blood on his skin. Why didn’t he bother to wash it off? You couldn't help but wonder.
“I didn’t fuckin’ need your help, Joel. And you still haven’t answered my previous question either.”
He rolled his eyes before he lifted his hands from your shoulders and stalked away into the kitchen. You heard him grumbling under his breath as he slammed open a cabinet door that was already hanging by the hinges on its last legs.
“Oh, I see. So you’re just gonna ignore me now? Y’know, its fuckin’ rude to not answer someone when they ask you a question, Joel.” You muttered mostly to yourself, but you secretly had hoped that he heard you too.
Two semi-cleaned glasses were yanked from the sink and lifted from their rims as Joel swiped up a bottle of whiskey before stalking back over to the couch. He slammed the glasses down on the faded coffee table before popping the cap off with his teeth.
You were infuriating. Disrespectful. And he wanted nothing more than to put you right back into your fucking place. He however, refrained from doing so and instead poured a large splash of amber liquor into both glasses.
“Y’know, Angel. One day that mouth of yours is gonna send ya six feet under.” He stated firmly as he picked up his glass, swirled the liquor around before throwing it down his throat in one gulp.
Your eyes narrowed into slits as you glared at him from the couch. You reached for your own glass as you slowly sat up. He was pouring himself another when you downed the liquor without a fuss.
“I am well aware of that, Joel.” You deadpanned and he poured you another.
“Good, that’s real good, Angel. S’then it should come as no surprise to you that I think you’re a fuckin’ disrespectful brat.” He rasped low and deep as his words rumbled like an oncoming storm.
The tension in the room was palpable as you stared one another down. Two predators with sharpened claws ready to strike.

Renovations
Tumblr media
Tatianna had lived in her apartment complex for years. She didn't want to change things up when some wealthy investors bought the land around her. So the Titanic Ivory Towers were crafted around Tati. They destroyed to foundation, built out and up, injected new insulation, then added a paint job and total face lift of the appearance.
Tati tried to be unmoved by the changes. But something about the constructions sounds drilled into her head. As she inhaled the dust and fumes her body started to react. By the end of the renovations, Titi felt completely rebuilt from the ground up. She was now sleek, enhanced, and in desperate need of being filled just like the luxury apartments around her.

You hadn’t even been in Awa’atlu for two minutes before Ao’nung had decided to make his target.
The Olo’eyktan’s son had loved teasing you. Always pulling on your much smaller and thinner tail, causing you to hiss out in pain and smack his hand away as he and his other goons laughed. Always making fun of your pin straight hair, calling it dull and ugly compared to the other Metkayina’s long bouncy curls. Calling you a freak or alien due to your extra finger on both hands. He pushed your buttons on many occasions throughout the days you stayed on the island. He absolutely loved it. He loved riling you up and getting a reaction out of you. A small smirk dancing on his lips whenever he stormed away from his figure, fuming as a result of his continuous teasing.
But there was something that he loved more than teasing you. He loved loving you. He loved to grab your dainty hands in his and pull apart each finger gently, spreading your long fingers until they matched up against his larger hands, smirking at how smaller they looked even with the extra finger you produced. He loved playing with your braids, looping them around his pointer finger as he messed with the numerous beads and feathers adorning them. He loved calling you his yawntu. He loved seeing the light blush paint your cheeks purple whenever he called you a term of endearment. He loved putting his face into the crook of your neck and inhaling your calming scent, making him purr out in delight. He loved all of you. Especially your stubborn personality that made him want to groan out in annoyance whenever things didn’t go your way. He adored and loved you.
Ao’nung had a funny way of expressing his interest in you at first. He practically followed you everywhere around the remote island. Sometimes he’d be teasing you as he trailed behind you, pulling at the string of your loincloth and laughing as it harshly snapped back against your dark azure skin. Sometimes he’d just be silent, basking solely in your presence as you explored the forest-like parts of the island. Other times he’d talk to you, asking what you did back home and what your favorite foods were, making a mental note to ask his Sa’nok if they had any of the ingredients so he could attempt to make it for you. And most of the time, he teased you and your siblings for your differences.
His teasing never bothered you, much. It was frustrating at times but it wasn’t like you never heard any of his teasing words before.
Back home, you, your twin brother, Lo’ak, and older sister Kiri were the talk of the village amongst the other children. You three were the only ones with five fingers on each hand and five toes on each foot, a differing contrast from the four fingered and toed children your age.
Children loved to call you half breed, alien, and even demon. They often pulled at your pinky, wanting to see what it would do as a reaction. They also pulled at your ears and tripped you wherever you went, pulling your feet into their hands to study your five toed foot. They were so cruel and mean growing up, eventually growing out of it as they got older. But, some children didn’t.
Oftentimes, whenever their teasing reached Neteyam or Lo’ak’s ears, they would avoid eye contact with you as your bullies sported new spilt lips and black eyes from your brother's anger. And even that didn’t stop some kids from continuing their teasing, but it was few and far in between once you completed your Iknimaya.
So when Ao’nung had begun to tease you and Kiri that one afternoon that ended in both Neteyam and Lo’ak beating him and his goons, Lo’ak made sure to keep you in his line of sight whenever you wandered off to do whatever you did. This had forced the both of you to keep your budding relationship a secret from your beloved twin brother.
And that’s what lead you to this very moment. You wrapped up in Ao’nung’s arms as the both of you hid away in your special secret spot that he found just for the two of you, looking up at the starry sky as your lover whispered sweet endearments into your sensitive ears.
“You make me so happy, yawntu,” Ao’nung gently whispered, nuzzling his face into the side of your head, burying it in your hair.
You softly giggled at your boyfriends actions, turning your head slightly to hide the part he was nuzzling into.
You loved it whenever Ao’nung went soft for you. It was only a sight for you to see and your heart warmed at that fact. Ao’nung had a tendency to keep others at an arms length at all times, doing so by hissing out harsh words and other means. But you could see through his façade the minute he began to pull your tail and tease you. He felt like he needed to be mean or seem dominant in public in order to receive respect from others within the clan. He was the Olo’eyktan’s only son and was expected to lead the clan one day. Ao’nung had so much pressure and weight put onto his shoulders from the expectations of his Sempul and clanspeople, something you could somewhat relate to being a child of Toruk Makto. Although that was no excuse for how he treated you and your siblings. You made him promise to not tease your siblings the way he did before when you got together. And he didn’t, keeping his promise he made to you.
“You make me happy too, Ma Ao’nung,” you whisper back, pulling a bit forward to lay a kiss on the boys turquoise skin.
Ao’nung had sighed out in contentment at your words, a soft purring sound emitting from his chest. He felt truly relaxed in your presence, it being evident in his lax body posture and rumbling coming from his chest.
“You’re purring, yawne,” you giggle out, smiling at the fact as you felt the rumbling movement against your back.
Ao’nung pouted at your words, “Am not,” he denied, resting his chin on your shoulder as he pulled his face away from your soft hair, “I do not purr.”.
The boy knew he was lying. Of course he purred whenever he was in your presence. But he didn’t want you to get too cocky from that fact. You already had him so wrapped around your finger that he didn’t need another reminder as to just how much he was in love with you.
You rolled your big amber eyes at your boyfriends denial, “Sure, Nung. You definitely do not purr”.
Ao’nung whined at your words, pulling you in closer to his chest, hiding his blushing face into your neck.
“I think it’s cute, my love,” you reassured, once again placing a kiss onto your lover's forehead, “It means you feel content and relaxed around me”.
At your words, Ao’nung smiled into your neck and pecked the side of it with a kiss. He was in so deep he was sure that Rotxo and his other friends would make fun of how he basically turned into putty in your presence.
Soon enough, you began to purr to response to Ao’nung constant rumbling, relax enough in his arms to do so.
He smiled at your purring, his getting even louder once he registered the fact.
Ao’nung began to gently kiss up and down the side of your neck, lightly biting where he placed a kiss every once in a while. He loved showing you how much he cared and adored you, often voicing his adoration through his kisses.
A gentle sigh escaped from your soft lips at your boyfriends actions, melting deeper into his embrace as he did so.
Everything was so quiet and peaceful. You felt as if you could stay in this moment for all eternity. Stay in Ao’nungs warm arms forever.
But all good things eventually come to an end.
You were to caught up in the feeling of Ao’nungs soft lips against your neck that you didn’t register the snapping of a branch a few feet away from the both of you. Your ears didn’t even twitch at the sound, to caught up in the sound of Ao’nung kissing hickies into your neck.
“Holy fuck,” a voice whispered out, making both you and Ao’nung freeze at the familiarity of it, stomachs twisting in anxiety, “You little shit!”.
There stood an angry Lo’ak, fists tightly clenched by his sides as his tail furiously swished side to side behind him. If looks could kill, Ao’nung would be six feet under by now.
“Lo’ak,” you whisper out, scrambling out of your boyfriends arms and onto your feet, meeting your brother halfway in his angry stride.
You made hard contact with the lean chest of your twin, putting your hands onto his chest to keep him a safe distance away from your lover.
“You’re seeing my sister?!” He hissed out, voice laced in anger, practically shaking at the intense feeling, “I told you to stay the fuck away from her! Do I need to beat it into you again before you understand?”.
You growled at your brother's words, lips drawn back in a scowl. You had growled and hissed at your twin only a couple of times and they all were when you were much younger than you were now.
Lo’ak growled back at you, too consumed in his anger to think clearly.
“What are you doing with him, (Y/N)? After all that he’s done to Kiri, to me, to you,” he hissed out yet again.
A deadly look had made its way onto Ao’nungs face as he glared at Lo’ak, quickly getting up to put himself between you and your very angry brother.
“Don’t talk to her like that,” he growled out between clenched teeth, getting behind you as he towered over your backside, back and head making contact with Ao’nungs chest.
Lo’ak drew his ears and lips back, actually hissing at the Metkayina boy. Ao’nung returned the gesture.
“I won’t hesitate to beat you to a pulp right here, right now in front of (Y/N), maybe then she’ll come to her senses about you and leave,” Lo’ak yelled out, attempting to get closer to your boyfriend but your body stopped him from doing so.
You gasped out at his words while Ao’nung growled once again at your brother. How dare he speak to him like that? To you like that?
“Lo’ak!” You exclaimed, shock and anger clearly written onto your face. You were angry at how your brother was acting. You knew that this kind of reaction was a possibility once you and Ao’nung were ready to expose your relationship, but you didn’t expect this kind of reaction.
“What is wrong with you?” You questioned, pushing at your twins chest, making him stagger a bit.
“Me? What’s wrong with me?” He hissed out, body shaking in anger as he pointed to himself with his closed fist, “What’s wrong with you? You’re the one slutting around with our bully!”.
Lo’ak’s words had caused you to shrink into yourself, causing intense hurt to spread throughout your body. Sure you and Lo’ak often argued as siblings do and called each other all kinds of names and neither of you meant it, but it seemed like your brother truly meant what he said.
A loud growl was heard from behind you, Ao’nung now extremely pissed at your sorry excuse for a brother. He would never call Tsireya a slut or even accuse her of slutting around with Lo’ak. He had actual common sense to never call his sister that.
“I’m going to kill you for talking to her like that, Lo’ak,” Ao’nung muttered, also shaking with anger.
Everything seemed to go silent as your ears began to block out any other noise except for your breathing and rapid, breaking heartbeat.
You began to walk away from the scene, sadness settling itself into your bones as you drifted further and further from your love and brother.
Maybe everything good doesn’t last forever.

Happy Valentines!
A little thing for @athanasius-symposium-of-writings It's about time I return the favor and write something for you!! I'm sorry it's not longer, but I hope you like it all the same, friend!
Tumblr media
The lights were dim. Remnants of your dinner were strewn about the coffee table, along with your half-empty wine glasses and the entirely empty wine bottle. Like-authored books lay strewn about the floor, laying open and dog-eared from excerpt readings. Bouquets of roses spotted the other available surfaces, and the distinct aroma of them mingled with the scent of spiced tobacco. The smoke of it still hung in the air, twisting tantalizing patterns all the way back to the man who held the pipe. The man whose knee your chin rested on, admiring from your seat on the soft rug.
Orpheus blew another stream of smoke into the air, idly ghosting his fingers along your hair line, almost petting. Your eyes met, and with the faintest of smirks his fingers shifted along your face, to your ear, and traced the sculpted shape of it.
“You look tired,” he mused. “Have the wine and reading made you drowsy?”
“Just relaxed,” you assured. “I’m plenty awake.” That was a bit of a lie. You were a bit tired—you were full, buzzed, and wooed, but you weren’t ready for the night to end. It was hard to get the undivided attention of a man like Orpheus for such a long period. You weren’t even sure how he’d managed to convince or bribe everyone in the manor to stay out of the smoke room tonight, but you wouldn’t dare complain. Your first proper Valentines in however many years into this eternity, and it was better than you could have ever hoped.
“Good. I have a few more things for us,” he said, and reached for the drawer of the table beside his leather chair. You watched him produce a decorative box, painted with textured oils. Edgar’s work, no doubt. He balanced it on his opposite knee, holding his pipe between his teeth, and flipped it open delicately. Arranged inside were six chocolate covered strawberries.
He looked them over with great consideration, plucked one from its paper with ungloved fingers, and then brought it delicately to your lips. His eyes held yours with an unspoken order for you to do the same, and so you opened your mouth a bit slowly from the treat while gazing into dark amber. A drop of red juice rolled down your chin and slipped into the white of his dress pants.
“Very good,” Orpheus whispered once you’d swallowed. Returning the favor, he bit from the strawberry as well, subtly licking at the marks left by your teeth in the red flesh, and then retuned the final bit of the fruit for you to finish. “Another?”
“Save them,” you said, licking your lips. The motion of your tongue was what finally broke his eyes from yours, if only for a split second. “We can make them last. What other ‘things’ do you have for us?” You had an idea already, and the way he smiled when you rubbed his shin further cemented it. A shiver slipped up your spine. He set the box of strawberries aside, then occupied his hand instead by capturing your jaw with a careful but firm vice.
Orpheus took one final drag from his pipe—looking all too angelic in the low light as he closes his eyes and breathes in fumes—and leaned forward to kiss your captive mouth. The sweet, spiced pipe smoke slipped through the little gaps of your melding lips, dancing tongues. It coiled up around your faces like a curtain, filled your nose, fogged your squinting peripheral vision. You managed to inhale a bit of it too, and the airy burn it left at the back of your throat, you decided, suited Orpheus’s intensity perfectly.
Any remaining thoughts scrambled after that; Orpheus slipped down from his chair, graceful as a swan, and joined you on the rug, where you could roll together in a sea of his words.

You’re Toxic, I’m Slipping Under
Summary: He bristles, offended. And you try, with as much dignity as you can muster after the last two hours of being fucked blind, to not look so smug about it. “See you next week,” he hums.
A/n: To celebrate Glass Onion coming out, here’s ol’ boy Ransom because I hate him so much :) 4.1k words. Warnings: Smut; mild degradation, spitting, daddy kink; classism; Mind Games with Ransom Hour etc. etc. Please stop reading if you’re not 18+
Tumblr media
Your whole apartment building seems to rattle when he arrives thirty minutes late. Like raucous fanfare to announce his appearance, the door slams shut, the latch clicks loudly, and then you hear his heavy footsteps pounding up the stairs.
His shoes are still on—of course they are—stomping your floorboards and dragging in dirt. You can practically see them, the usual suede loafers switched out for leather boots with the late fall chill, and probably mud-caked because he’s thankless like that.
With your attention still on your laptop, already irritated because you’ve been attempting a paper that’s only chased its tail for the last three hours, you ask, “Did you misplace your watch, Ransom?”
Turning, you show him you’re the screen reading 8:32 and blink pointedly, “Is that a yes?”
“Don’t be smart,” he snaps back. “You know I don’t like that.”
Your head’s been a mess of fog, body tense and frustrated for days, and although you’ve always prided yourself on tact and grace—patient like a saint—Ransom manages to bring out the worst. You hiss, “Take your damn shoes off, you know I don’t like that.”
You watch mutely as he does so, not without a sneer here, a shitty comment there. He takes three long steps and plops himself on your bed, hands curling into the quilt, thumbs brushing over the patchwork fabric disparagingly. He pinches a loose thread and begins to pull, tugging slowly at first, and then finding joy in unraveling a line of stitching until nearly three inches rip apart.
“I always thought you needed to replace this thing.” He twirls the string disdainfully, “It’s ugly as sin.”
He pretends he doesn’t know how you obviously love this quilt—handstitched and affectionately made, your damn initials are embroidered into the corner, after all. He’s made a game of testing your patience, gleefully punching at every button as he tries to get you to snap.
Ransom Drysdale Thrombey. You’d met him at one of the Thrombey’s family… functions. Dysfunction, you’d muttered under your breath when Walt beat his cane against the floor in a drunken tirade and Meg ran out back to wolf down a pot cookie that she was supposed to be saving for later.
She was on the cusp of a panic attack, words tumbling out like a car crash, her hand in her beret, then hair, then trembling over her maroon-painted lips.
“God, I’m so sorry— I thought we could just make a pit stop before heading out. The food’s always catered and really good— god… it’s a fucking mess.”
You waved her off because it’s not like you haven’t witnessed at least one aunt having a meltdown during holiday dinner before— family’s just like that—and tried to placate her with, “Can’t be worse than the cousin who asked if we’d be scissoring later.”
Meg’s face twisted in disgust. “Ugh, ew! Fucking Jacob! He’s a skeezy little incel— I swear he’s a moderator on one of those internet forums where they post revenge porn and upskirt vids— honestly, he was adorable two years ago. Then I guess he went through puberty and got radicalized on Youtube.”
You paused as she lit a cigarette and inhaled furiously before realizing that the two of you were thinking of two entirely different cousins.
“I meant the big one, Meg. This one went through puberty twenty years ago.”
“Ew, Ransom,” Meg frowned, “That’s even worse.”
“Ransom? What is he, a Disney villain?”
Leaves crunched behind your back and Meg looked up from flicking ash into the yard toward the sound.
“Let’s be honest, I’ve got the face of a leading man.”
Meg blew smoke at him, as if the fumes were enough to threaten his sensibilities. You figured not, he looked like a cigar smoker anyway—one of those guys who’d dedicate a whole room in their house with the humidity just right to keep them fresh. Rich people shit.
“Go away, Ransom,” she said, to clarify.
“I don’t recall addressing you, Megan.” He took a drawn-out look, lips pursing in scrutiny before lifting a brow, making a real goddamn show about it. “Okay,” he said, “I’ll bite. 400 on the dresser for an hour; you can get yourself something nice.”
You’re still not sure what it was about either your attire or attitude that allowed him to conjure up such an offer.
Maybe it was your shitty jeans and your sweater from freshman year orientation. Maybe you looked like an easy mark to tear down.
His audacity shocked out a laugh from you—a loud, abrupt guffaw that eased Meg enough for her to dip back inside to grab more from her stash. And when she was out of sight, focused on rummaging in the old clock, you responded, “Yeah, okay. I’ll bite back.”
Maybe it was an act of rebellion against your background in contrast to all this excess. The bitter aftertaste of eating bottom shelf food out of necessity for weeks at a time—those awful chicken bouillon packets and dried blocks of instant noodles your first year of college. No one paid for your schooling or housing so learning to balance an over-abundance of classes and a job because you needed to graduate early, needed to spend less money on tuition, meant that you were working yourself to death.
If Youtube radicalized Jacob, then habitually sleeping three hours a night in the campus library and skipping meals to afford textbooks while men like Ransom crashed Maserati’s for fun radicalized you.
So, sure. Game on.
He picked you up the following weekend without anyone knowing and took you somewhere expensive. It was a whirlwind of exorbitant dinners and being quietly sneered at down the straight line of his tall nose bridge. The front door to his bachelor pad shutting but not bothered with locking. Falling into the thousand-count Egyptian cotton bedsheets naked, the skylight’s beam spilling like gold-flecked champagne.
You promised yourself it meant nothing. Just an experiment of unbridled spite. If he wanted to throw money at you, hell, that’s his problem. If he wanted to fuck you, well, you’d give him the best fuck of his life— let him see that despite wealth, at the end of the day, he was flesh and blood trembling for the right stroke.
And sure, he trembled, but it was your mistake to pare it down so simply.
Ransom juggled fuck buddies much longer than you’d been fucking at all. He knew it was best with the right amount of emotion involved. Just enough to yearn. If he laid roses at your feet, kissed your knees featherlight and worked his way up to your jaw, cradled the back of your head, nosed the pulse of your wrist, your collarbones, asked for your eyes on him, and panted the lightest breath of your name at the edge of it all—now who’s fucking who over, sweetheart?
You were out of your depth. He was powerful, older, and more experienced. He touched you in ways that emulated affection—that brought fire and danger. His hands were large and callused at the juncture of his fingers. His pretty mouth was pink, wet, kissed greedy. His sharp eyes took everything in.
But, as you predicted, his moods soon volleyed in every direction as consequence of never being told no, and once the novelty of crazy hot—often angry—sex grew stale, you crashed back down to earth burned out. You ghosted.
“You’re, what…” he called through the door the week after you texted that it was both too much and not enough to carry on with, “breaking up with me? Seriously. This is a fucking joke.”
And you could have practically seen it—how his bottom lip would jut out as his incisors crossed, how his brows would sink when he got angry. He was never belligerent, only calculating.
You told him to leave, and he did, after a single loud kick to the frame, because he’s never begged for anything, and he wasn’t going to start.
The guilt came afterwards, with the bouquet of roses on the doormat, petals scattered around because he’d slammed them down after being ignored again and again, and you swept them inside to throw into a vase next to the three other vases with flowers in various degrees of wilted.
“Breaking up” prickled complicatedly in the middle of your chest, because despite the many shows of affection, you knew you weren’t exactly breaking up. You had never really been with him anyway. People aren’t… with Ransom. They’re towed along by Ransom, dragged by their hair by Ransom. Played with by Ransom until he inevitably gets bored.
It devolved into needless melodrama. Weekly episodes of a teen show with grandiose gestures of toxic relationships perceived as romance. Ransom’s habit of whisking you away, fucking you senseless, turning around to fight with you about any-goddamn-thing he pleased. Dropping off flowers and champagne. Restarting the whole process.
It wasn’t healthy—isn’t healthy, probably, according to most therapists—since he’s here, present-day, in your room, beginning to undress.
You fiddle with the sleeves at your elbows, thumbing cool satin before advancing, arms subconsciously crossed.
He’s only in his underwear now. A pair of nondescript gray boxer briefs fitted on his muscular thighs, taut as he leans back on his palms. He slowly spreads his legs, inviting you between them. His lips purse when you stand passively, knee brushing his bulge, hands resting over his shoulders. He’s warm.
One palm caresses your lower back and the other on himself, gliding up and down. His lids are half open, voice low, “You miss this?”
“No,” which is a lie. You missed it when evenings were boring, half-heartedly nodding to some boy’s drivel about campus life, mind wandering to someone who didn’t look freshly 21, didn’t date like it. Didn’t talk themselves up just to get you into bed.
At least Ransom was honest; he always said exactly what he thought, told you exactly when you were pissing him off, how he was going to teach you a lesson—where he wanted you, how he wanted you, and— a chill races up your arms.
He’s downright smug when he notices.
“No? You prefer sloppy frat boys pawing at you like virgins over me? Every time, you think they might fuck right but, well, you’re always disappointed.” He reaches beneath the short hem of the robe, splays his hand out over your thigh and very slowly feels his way up.
Your eyes shutter as he pulls you forward, gripping tightly and massaging up toward your ass. The pit of your belly is tightening, the rest trying to push down being too eager for him all over you, his broad shoulders, his strong hands, how he bends his grasp on your shoulder, fixes you in a perfect curved arch just the way he likes.
Ransom noses the robe out of his path, sinking his teeth lightly down until he scrapes a line over your breastbone, laying his face gently down like a child—like a lover.
“You know,” he begins, taunting again, “You make a… face.” He says it as he trails down beneath the swell of one breast, letting your nipple graze his cheek, before he presses a kiss to your ribcage. Hot like a brand, searing into your belly. And then he bites.
You flinch, hand going to his hair to pull him away. He throws his head back into your grasp, eyes glittering and amused. He quickly works your thighs apart, dipping two fingers between and sinking into your heat.
“There it is,” he chuckles when your eyes flutter, “Yeah... Really gets me off.”
You’re in his lap before you know it, your hold on him fallen off and now scrambling for his wide shoulders to hold yourself steady. He’s got you leaned back on his thighs, hanging off the edge of the bed and perfectly helpless, the only thing planting you even close to secure are your folded knees, your arms around his neck. He’s shushing you, one large hand on the small of your back, the other still working inside your pussy.
He says, “Calm down unless you want to fall,” but it’s goddamn hard when your heart is pounding with equal parts fear and arousal. He’s sucking on your tits, balancing you just precariously enough to thrill, fingering you all the while—like it’s nothing to him, like you’re an object he can manipulate however he pleases.
His cock is erect, flexing against the fabric over his groin, a swell of hard, aching muscle. You want to put your hand around it, feel its girth in your palm, simply hold it because you do fucking miss it. The places he can reach, the ways he spreads you, rocking in and pulling out—how he sometimes settles inside, and then does nothing but watch you squirm.
It’s undeniably gorgeous—and he is too—when you fumble it out after he lays you down and hovers over you with interest. You’re wetting your lips automatically, staring in awe at his thick shaft sprouting from soft, dark, curls, the tip of it smooth and almost purple, swollen up with blood.
“Legs up,” and the way he says it, how he just goes right out and says it, makes you groan.
Boys don’t do that. Too busy in their heads about peacocking and re-enacting the kind of porno where performers wordlessly move into new positions in sync, nothing verbal exchanged but high-pitched shrieking and nasally fuck me’s.
Ransom’s extremely verbal in bed. He easily says, “Look at me. Show me how much you want it,” and flits his eyes between your bodies.
You do, shivering, sliding two fingers along the sides of your folds, finding yourself aroused and damp, humiliated and incredibly turned on when he grins, simply content with watching. Your thighs are squeezing reflexively, abdomen crunching up trying to keep it together.
But he’s never been patient, and quickly tells you to hold your knees, rock back, make yourself small and exposed, and then he’s delving gently into your hole— thumbs taking turns, coaxing more.
Two fingers tuck in, then another two struggle next to them, and you can’t stop yourself from gasping and crying out at how he pulls apart the walls of your cunt.
The sound of it— sloppy, squelching, a light and hollow kind of noise like a tongue flicking inside an open mouth.
“Look at this pretty pussy.” He tugs a little more, and you wriggle into it, gripping your legs tighter, pulling your knees up, shins toward your burning face to hide.
He descends on your clit, tip of his tongue licking into your stretched hole, purposefully only running against the taut skin around his fingers. “You got a talent, baby,” he murmurs, buzzing. “I could fuck you the whole day, fuck you numb… but give you about half an hour and it’s good as new, tight and perfect.”
There had been marathon rounds of bouncing in his lap between being at each other’s throats, his thighs splitting yours, hands holding you up, nibbling at your ear. Then he’d turn you around, take you to the floor until you collapsed on the bearskin rug, the sweat on your neck and chest rolling into dark furs. Railed you until you were so sensitive anything would make you come; your body unsure if it was considered your own anymore.
Fuck, fight, rinse, and repeat.
“Are you—going to talk all night?” You grunt up to the ceiling, trying to steel yourself from panting or moaning and only barely making it.
“Thought you liked it when I talked.”  His dark head is still between your legs, nose pressed into your skin, licking agonizingly slow with his entire tongue. It’s so warm, and gentle, and assertive. “What, you don’t like being told how good you taste?”
He keeps licking, pushing at the back of your knees when you try to switch positions, holding you in that bent up pose. He’s suckling at your clit when his fingers find their way back inside, easily hooking in three and pumping them smoothly.
“How—” he sucks hard, the shape of his full, plush lips fitted over you making a filthy wet smack, “mmm—I love the taste of your sweet pussy?”
When you come like it’s being ripped out of you, legs shaking around his head, lines of his spit dripping down your ass and onto the sheets, he lets you go with a hard slap on your sex, and you nearly wail.
“That’s my girl,” he says. “Yeah, you missed me, huh? You missed it like this, didn’t you? Tell me.”
“Unnng …” a high whine, “Ransom.”
“I know,” he mumbles, kissing up your belly, your neck, your ear.
He moves into position, entering effortlessly after all his prep work, and the shine of your juice still on his beard is fucking unholy hot. He’s grinning and panting, eyes fluttering briefly as he slides home.
“I know it’s big, baby. But you can take it, you’re gonna take it.” He’s a fraction unfocused, letting himself enjoy how you squeeze around him before he begins to punish.
Jesus, you missed this. Missed the agonizing drag of his shaft that feels like it goes on and on forever. Miss the way you get full of him, miss how it almost hurts.
His hipbones are hitting against yours, a steady fast rhythm because he’s experienced like that. Whereas some others might go faster when you’re close, Ransom stays at the pace that got you there in the first place. If anything, he pushes just a bit harder, makes you listen to the sound of his skin on yours, the choke of your breath he punches out.
You crunch yourself up smaller, toes touching the headboard now. Anything to get him further in.
“Fuck, you’re a slut,” he laughs. “Pretty little slut, god you don’t give it up like this for anyone else, do you?”
There’s not enough sense in you to argue even if you wanted to. The room is swimming, undulating, slipping further and further out of reach as the bed rocks and squeaks in protest. You’re sure you met a very handsome guy at the bar weeks ago but as soon as he started hinting that he was interested and stirred up conversation by asking your major, you left.
It just… wasn’t there. It wasn’t the same. No way in hell.
That boy wouldn’t have done this—wouldn’t be planting one foot on the bed, the other knee still down, enormous hands tight on your hips and crashing in.
You could cry, it feels so goddamn good.
Tears dribble their way out from the corner of your eyes. You turn your face enough to get a breath of fresh air, gulping it in frantically between the drive of Ransom’s cock and the half second he slides out.
You vaguely register his hand moving from your hip to your cheek, knuckles brushing upward.
“Oh,” he sighs, “pretty, pretty girl.” He slows his pace, nearly stilling. You squirm beneath him, inching away from how deep he is inside you, how intimate it feels as he kisses the hollow of your cheek and then toward your brow.
“So sweet for me,” he says, pulsing, making you whine with how he pushes against your sore walls. “Did I make a slut out of you? Huh? Make you stupid for my dick?”
“Make me come,” you say. “Make me—“
“Ask me real nice, baby. Ask daddy to make you come.”
You want to hit him. Kill him.
“No?” He whispers into the sensitive shell of your ear, “You don’t want it?”
You squeeze your eyes shut, embarrassment clawing up your face, but Ransom’s hold is tighter, sharper, and he really is— so fucking right. You want it. And he’s made you a little stupid, so yeah--
“Please make me come, daddy. I wanna come.”
The Cheshire grin that unfurls on his face is more panther than cat. “You wanna come on daddy’s big cock?”
“Yes, daddy,” you admit. “I wanna so bad.”
“Oh, that’s it, baby. You’re a good girl, aren’t you. You put on a little show just for me? Act like you don’t want it but soon as I get in you and you let me lay you out anywhere, make you say anything.”
You turn away but he’s got your fucking number— got you as a boneless, spineless mess beneath him as he begins to fuck you again, and harder, his calculating, beautiful, cruel face hanging above you like a fever dream.
“You gonna come? Gonna cry?”
He’s melting away, he’s everywhere, and the lights behind your eyelids are starting to glare and threaten to explode.
“Gonna come for daddy, huh. That’s it, baby. That’s my girl, let me feel your pussy— ah— there it is— you can’t help it, can you? Mmm, swallow daddy’s cock with your pussy.”
Your orgasm is a wreck of curses and teeth on Ransom’s shoulder when he drops down close enough to make contact. You shake and whimper, struggling to calm yourself through the aftershocks.
When you’re done, still floaty but more aware, the mess of your humming insides less tight around him, he pulls out and shuffles up until his swollen tip is at your chin.
You obey wordlessly, and afterwards, when the flex of his shaft is tell-tale, and he empties into your mouth, you hold it there, show him the mess.
“Baby,” he says, slowly making his way back down, admiring the come submerging your tongue.
Ransom licks his lips, licks the inside of his cheek, and leans back over again, his eyes liquid darkness and pleased as punch. And he drops a line of spit on top, drools it down over your teeth, into your mouth, and says, “Good girl.”
-
“You need a new laptop.” He’s tugging his belt until the clasp hooks into place.
“I don’t.”
“It looks old.”
“So do you.”
He bristles, offended. And you try, with as much dignity as you can muster after the last two hours of being fucked blind, to not look so smug about it.
“See you next week,” he hums.
You don’t say anything in response, only listening for the same heavy footsteps slam back downstairs—perhaps a fraction lighter—and the clunk of the door swinging shut. A long breath and you stretch slowly, letting your body regain its normal shape before he bent you into a goddamn pretzel. A few minutes pass, and then a few more, and you hear the roar of his car speed out of the parking lot.
Safe now, out of his reach, you amble back up into your computer chair to face the awful white, blank document staring back like a judgmental audience. You slide in and crack your neck, feeling the throb between your thighs yield to a less uncomfortable ache.
The problem, you’ve learned after leaving Ransom’s world, was that you had been ill-equipped to play his game. His game, and by extension, Meg’s game. All the Thrombeys and Drysdales and everyone in-between.
They belonged to a class you couldn’t really understand unless you were making a fucking killing—and graduation was just around the bend, so maybe you would, one day—but you were in the red with 45 grand of student debt and staring down the barrel of a subsequent degree because it was getting hard to make it with just a single bachelor’s in anything.
There was too much to do and not enough time to be jerked around by Ransom—not nearly enough time to feel frustrated about your situation in any sense. No, scraping by taught you to survive. You couldn’t be whisked off to the Caymans for brunch, couldn’t be fucked raw in hotel infinity pools, get lost for days meandering the Pacific on luxury yachts for the fun of it.
Your world was a little more drab, a little less rose-tinted.
So it was back to normal now, back to the grind, back to not wasting any part of your week on shitty dates, shitty sex, and coming home more frustrated than you left it. Because there was Ransom, so eager to make some kind of statement about proving you wrong that he’d be the last to know when he’s being used.
And maybe 4 out of 5 therapists would say that your coping mechanism to a normal sex drive is unhealthy—mind-fucking and regular-fucking your ex/not-ex will do that—but you wouldn’t know. You can’t afford therapy just yet.
You rub your back, patting out the tightness of overworked muscles. It doesn’t feel any worse than the cramp you’d gotten after staying up three nights in a row cramming for finals.
As if your brain has reset, your fingers begin tapping on the keys, and you realize your writer’s block’s been lifted.

i wanna paint megumi's nails a sunshiney yellow. would he let me or would he not ?
-🫧anon
🌚🌚🌚 omg yes bubbles let’s rot about it!!!!
“…why?”
it’s not necessarily a no, but megumi’s apprehension couldn’t be more apparent. you hope that a little pout and a bat of your eyelashes will be more convincing than the pretty pleaseee can i? had been just moments ago.
“i like painting nails, its calming” you say.
megumi doesn’t quite take the bait.
“what part of inhaling paint fumes is calming?”
“well the high of the paint fumes certainly helps” you stick your tongue out playfully.
megumi huffs, rolls his eyes, then turns his body more towards you, hands extended palms down. you light up as if he’s just given you a priceless gift, and he has to fight the urge to smile, remind himself what he’s getting into here.
“oh gumi thank you!” you cheer, taking one of his hands and pulling it closer to you before grabbing the little bottle of yellow polish.
“mhm whatever” he mumbles back, refusing to meet your eye.
even after all this time he got bashful being this close to you, being touched by you. you know this, of course, it’s why you pull him closer and plant a kiss on the back of his hand.
“you’re gonna be the prettiest boy on the world” you murmur in a voice too sugary sweet for him to swallow. a lump forms in his throat.
“whatever makes you happy” he sighs, quiet, almost under his breath. but you know he means it completely. you’re the only person in the world who could paint this boy’s nails yellow (without methods of sedation that is)
and this is only the tip of the iceberg of things fushiguro megumi would do for his girl as long as she asked nicely with that pretty pout she knows has him whipped.
