I find hollow screams
of the sea
caught inside their shells,
the sandy shore awakened, pale
and white
to the dying, fighting light
of the twilight sun that sinks,
splits the world
into two tearing circles.
stars that prick
pins and needles into my skin.
and, time that slinks
into unending
grief, that comes
wave after trembling wave.
that never lets me forget,
a piece is missing
from inside me
since you left.
I just really wanted to say Thank You, to all who has sent a kind message checking up on me or helping me through this. It means so much to me. To have people I can trust to share this with, seek advice from or just be in the company of whilst being so conflicted and confused or hurt and angry from the pain of what happened.
In all honesty, I always grew up thinking I’d always be alone to face what I had to with no help or support. Tumblr has allowed me to meet a few of the most incredible friends and people I could’ve never thought to meet. I’ve learned so much about respecting myself, internalizing their kind voices instead of the abusive ones I grew up with and being vulnerable and trusting because there are the very few people who more than deserve that. People I respect with my entire heart inside out.
Despite what life throws at me, knowing I’ve had your company or presence in my life makes me feel ever grateful and blessed. I hope I can give something back to your lives too.
No matter how much darkness or bad there might be in the world, knowing there are lights like you whom exist with your kindness and wisdom inspires me to continue fighting.
I hope I can be such a light in another’s life in the future as you have been to mine.
Dear man on the train
Please stop humming
Please end the vibrations of your
Vocal cords puffing their chests
Within your throat
Whose song are you singing, man?
Whose song is that, white man?
Who are you singing to?
Me?
Him?
Them?
Us?
When you hum I can feel your
Thwarted voice travel below your seat
Watch it lower on to the floor
Crawl swiftly along the gray dirt ridden floor
Glide like the belly of a ghost
To the under of my chair
Pushing on my cushion
Pushing me up and off
Your decibel legs stretch over mine
Your reverberating elbows crush my forearms
The shoulders of your tune rest easily, heavily upon mine
What are we supposed to do?
I put in my headphones
First U2 then
Rocket man
White men
Singing to me
Sing it to me
Today, I heard that my dear friend @litglob has passed away. He had a long battle with cancer and he suffered a lot through it all. I was there for most part and I hope that our friendship brought him some relief.
He passed away on the 26th of March, 2021. Its been three months of total darkness for me.
I hope he has moved on to a better place where there is no pain and only laughter. He had only a short life here, only a few days in which he touched many lives. Mine included. Sending him love and light and prayers. You were loved dear poet and I will miss you a lot <3
the sky is grey in mourning
and I am here
with my thoughts of you.
what was warm
and alive
has gone dead cold.
and there are tears
where lakes were, my love
will sink forgotten to the bottom.
Thank you for this. We must be allowed to speak our minds. So that this kind of violence does not strip our freedoms away.
The events in France and Belgium hit very close to home, in a literal sense, too. Despite life as such being great, I do need to come to terms with what is going on. I'm glad Europe's response to this madness is one of peaceful, tenacious resistance. Those loonies must not win, and they certainly mustn't have the war they crave.
Thank you for starting this awesome tag game @josy57 and for tagging me @definegodliness !
We're all, every one of us, in the inner circle at TWC. It is a vibrant supportive community and I am glad to be a part of it! I love having these conversations, initiating a dialogue, getting to know each other and creating new and lasting bonds <3
Albeit more than a couple of months late, here are my responses. If something strikes you or you want to ask me a question, feel free to reach out anytime :)
1. How often do you post a new piece?
My poetry is often inspired by life events and by my mood. My posting frequency too is moody and shifting. I think I post twice weekly but can I commit to that?
2. What are your most recurrent themes?
I write about love and all its sublime facets - forbidden love, unconditional love, erotic and sensual love, love that is a journey. Romance and my muse. Writers and poets. Nature and the world. Travel. Technology. Climate change. There is so much I am passionate about!
3. Do you use prompts?
Every now and then. I definitely did more prompts when I started writing here back in 2015.
4. If you had to describe usual m.o, what would it be? Are your pieces often long or short? Light or dark? Do you want to tell a story? to convey a feeling? a message? Do you speak of personal experience ? or share your observations on the world?
My poems are little windows into my world. I am a shy person who experiences life deeply. So my poems are short and minimalistic. Like puddles after rainfall. They evoke tender feelings.
5. Which of your pieces has received the most attention? (you can use this website to find out if you don’t know)
It's the quote "I dream of you like the sea dreams of the moon". Another close contender, a poem I wrote "Poet's Choice of Tea"
6. What’s one of your pieces you wish received more attention?
My poems receive a fair amount of attention and I am grateful. I start off posting without any expectations at all and am always struck by the amount of love that comes pouring in. Heartfelt thank you. Would it suffice to say I am thoroughly satisfied?
7. Do you have any special project you’re working on?
Yes, I have a few projects I am working on - writing for an art gallery and a not-for-profit environmental organization. Putting together an ebook with a friend. Ghostwriting books for a local financial group.
8. Link one of your pieces for each of the 4 elements:
Fire: "Pompeii"
Water: "lotus garden"
Wind: "Soul Tree" and "Sakura 桜"
Earth: "The Living Planet"
Bonus: One ring to rule them all - "Elemental". A poem that incorporates all of the elements.
9. Recommend one piece by another writer which you think deserves more attention:
This is my favourite question from this interview! Here they are:
"The Native Man." by Litglob
"I have seen countless seasons kiss" by the-sum-of-many-poets
"Pile of Words (a poem)" by thissometimepoet
10. Recommend 3 Tumblr writers whose work you enjoy:
@definegodliness - Tender words that awaken myriad feelings. Jolts of electricity and thunderstorm. Your poetry is both.
@litglob - Your words can light worlds on fire. Soaring searing smouldering fire. Your pen carries that flame.
@sealanehill - You are eclectic, different, nuanced, unique and interesting. You can mix and match. Bring the abstract to life.
