A predestined match
Tumblr media
You were one of Toph's students and also one of her best friends.
So when the Gaang decided to take a trip to Makapu Village for Aunt Wu to read Zuko, Suki and Toph's future, you were invited.
You didn't have high expectations but you liked to laugh at Sokka. It was clear that he hated that village with all his heart.
You arrived in Makapu in the evening and camped in the forest, and the next morning you set off for Aunt Wu's house.
She was happy to see Aang and Katara again and to meet the rest of you but she wasn't too happy to see Sokka again.
You laughed seeing how much hatred the two looked at each other and accidentally bumped into someone.
You apologized and helped the girl up from the floor.
You looked at each other blushing but were interrupted by Suki who was impatient to know her future.
While Aunt Wu was reading Suki's future, Meng brought you snacks. She congratulated Aang and Katara on their new relationship and winked at Aang. Aang blushed and Sokka chuckled.
You, Toph and Zuko started talking about superstitions and the supernatural. Although Zuko fully believed that there were signs foreshadowing certain events, you and Toph were skeptical.
your debate was interrupted by Meng who complimented your big ears which made you blush.
Your friends started to laugh heartily.
You thanked the girl for the original compliment and complimented her hair. She blushed and started playing with her tails.
You chuckled, in your defense the girl did seem cute.
You invited her to sit next to you.
While Aunt Wu was reading your friends' fortunes, you continued to talk to Meng.
Finally it was your turn.
Aunt Wu said you picked the love bone. You threw it into the fire, and the fire rose up to near the roof, which worried you a little.
Aunt Wu looked at the flames with a frown and told you that you recently met your future wife, that she is not a bender but has a gift given by the spirits.
When you left the room, you noticed that Aang was helping Meng spy on you.
You rolled your eyes at their silly excuses.
You looked at Meng with an evil grin and told her that a future fortune teller should be able to guess what's going on in the room without spying.
 And then it hit you.
Meng had received the gift of fortune-telling from the spirits and you had met her today.
Meng blushed and told you stammering that she knew it was you since she saw your ears.
Aang ran off to tell the others and you asked her out trying to look disinterested.

Tumblr media
resume: where you are stubborn and Korra is tired of that.
content warning: fight descriptions, firebender!reader, one minor death description, a small fight, established romantic relationship between Korra and the reader, gn!reader, no use of y/n.
word count: 1.4k
a/n: HI im here to contribute to the cause: not enough Korra fics out there. I got this os idea out of the air, if anyone has any request to make more fics of Korra, or any other character of this universe ehem, let me know ;D I just came back from a writer's block!
Tumblr media
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “ 𝓘'm sorry, is this OUR stab wound.ᐣ ”
Tumblr media
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ With one hand trying to put pressure in a red spot to stop the blood while the other was throwing fire attacks in a desperate manner, you were helping the Krew to fight a group of bandits trying to terrorize a village. One of them was a metalbender who got you off guard and made a deep cut on your left side.
Sweat was dripping down your face, it was notorious how your breathing became irregular by the way your chest was moving and your arm use to bend was starting to ache.
You were tired already and your opponent seemed to notice that, at one point you needed to buy some time to breathe so you decided to make a maximum effort and put your last reservation of energy in taking him out.
You made him back a couple of steps when throwing kicks and fire and at the second you realized he got disoriented, a lightning was shot at him by you. The only sound after the rumble of said element was his body impacting with the floor and your heavy breathing while both hands took place on your knees, trying to calm yourself down.
The voice of the avatar made an echo behind you, she was yelling your name looking for you once everyone was defeated.
You were quick to take a piece of fabric and tie your abdominal area to stop the bleeding; it wasn't that bad of a injury, you thought to yourself, it will heal quickly.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “There you are!” The southerner exclaimed when she got eyes on your figure, you were fixing up your hair. “I heard the lightning, are you okay?”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Course,” you move a little bit to show the body of your opponent, Korra raised her eyebrows. “He's going to be fine. . . I think, don't worry 'bout him!” your hand was fast to reach hers and make her walk beside you. “Are we leaving?”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Yeah, everyone is on the ship already, you got the farthest.” she said, her brows frown a little bit at the sensation of liquid in the hand she was holding yours. The avatar took away that hand and look at it. “You're bleeding!?” she asked horrified and looked up at you.
You were serene at the situation, you dismissed the seriousness of the injury moving your hand. “It's nothing, Korra, it was a superficial cut, I'll be fine.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Are you sure? Let me see—” she tried to reach you to look for said cut and you moved away way too quick that made you groan with pain.
The adrenaline was washing away leaving you with a sore body and a stinging pain on the side. Your girlfriend frowned again. “I'm okay! Stop worrying about me! I know how to take care of myself, thank you very much.” you tried to defend yourself, left hand was stretched out to stop her from coming nearer.
The brunette was silent for a bit, she knew how hot-headed you could be when about your problems it was. “But you're not alone anymore! You have me and if you are hurt I want to know so I can help you.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I don’t need your help, I can handle this!” you exclaimed making your way in the airship, interrupting a 'want some fruit pies?' coming from Bolin who only stood there afterwards watching you walk away to rest and turning back at Korra.
The whole team was on silence after the scene, three of them looking confused while Korra looked annoyed.
The rest of the trip back to Air Temple Island you were sleeping without interruptions, that was more than you ever did, your girlfriend took that as a sign of tiredness after the fight and you using the lightning to defend yourself.
Even if you were a pretty skilled lightning bender, it wasn't a bending you used on your daily basis so she didn't know if the use of that defense mechanism was tiring for you or not. In fact, she didn't know much about how you reacted to injuries or problems since you were so reserved with anyone about your weak spots, living in a conservative family where you were taught that any emotion besides courage was a weak and useless emotion that people could use against you.
And Korra knew about that when she met you in a tournament of pro–bending, there's where she fell in love with you.
The avatar tried so hard to break your shell so you could opened up to her and trust in her with everything you did or felt, no success at all it seemed.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Honey, we're here.” you heard the voice of your girlfriend, your body moved a bit with a groan of pain and your eyes opened lazy, feeling your eyelids still heavy. “Let's go, you can sleep better in your room.”
A bit slow, you were able to stand up from your sleeping spot. Your eyes were trying to focus on the brunette, blinking a lot when you saw blurry. “Where. . .?” you were able to say hoarsely.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Air temple island, you slept the whole night.” she said giggling a little bit, acting as if the fight before you slept didn't happen. She felt the nuisance in her, but thought maybe it was better to talk it once you were fully well rested.
You nodded and stood up. Black spots started to appear in your visual field and a sensation of dizziness invaded your body; when trying to take a step you stumbled and if Korra wasn't fast enough you could've hit the floor. “I'm okay. . . I. . .”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Oh, no, you are definitely not okay.” she said with a mix of worry and anger in her voice. With so easiness (you really didn't had the strenght to fight her off) she found your cut and her eyes shot open when she saw how deep it was and how soaked your whole side was, your clothes being a tone darker than the fabric usually was. “What the fuck!? You're bleeding out! This is a big cut!”
Your words tangled in your tongue, not making a coherent sentence while trying to stay awake. The southerner was quick to take you in her arms bridal style and almost run inside the temple, asking for help.
Korra was in charge of healing you, once she got access to water her hands moved automatically over your injury. The first contact got a scream out of you and then, you relaxed.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You'll be fine, it's okay, darling, you'll be fine.” she said to you, now that there was better light she could see how pale you got overnight. Her teeth got her own inferior lip, nervous about the whole thing. “I'm sorry, I should've insisted last night, you wouldn't have lost so much blood.”
A shush came from your mouth, smiling weak afterwards. “It's not your fault. . . I'm the one who's sorry, I shouldn't be so proud. . .” you frown raised a bit. “I know I should communicate more to you if I want this to work out.” the way you spoke hoarsely made Korra shake a bit.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “We'll work on that,” was her response. Once she made sure you were all good, she moved now to help you get all bandaged up to let the cut heal completely. “Together, as we have been doing all this time.” she murmured.
When she was done, she sat at the bed where you were lying and smiled fondly your way. Korra loved you. She loved you so dearly and it was reciprocate, the love both of you felt for the other was so strong to the point of wanting to change for the better, to be the better version of each other that could exist.
The avatar leaned on you to leave a sweet kiss on your lips, caressing your cheek with devotion, you tried not to smile with excitement at the thought of her love being yours and yours only.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You know what this also means?” she said interrupting your thoughts after pulling away a little bit to speak to you on whispers, you made a sound of question. “You will have me all on you to take care of you and give you the best pampering sessions.”
You laugh with happiness at the thought of that, another groan left your lips followed by 'stop, you're hurting yourself!' that made you laugh with Korra again. She was careful to lie next to you and take you in arms to take a nap together. Neither of you were slow to get yourselves lost in dreams a minute later.

Private Eye | Tim Rockford/Marcus Moreno x F!Reader
Rating: T for Teen
Summary: You're a detective assigned to the strangest case this apple pie America town has ever seen. Enter: Marcus Moreno, alias Tim Rockford. Will you and your secretly super-powered partner be able to solve this case and the mysterious thing brewing between you?
Tags: vague murder(?) mystery; workplace romance; this is about detectives even though acab 😔✊🏻
Word count: 2,214
Note: Despite making fun of his name, I do still enjoy writing for Tim 😂😅 So here he is! This will eventually (hopefully) be a fun(?) series involving late night paperwork sessions, sneaking around a cool old mansion in the dark, and those intriguing powers of Marcus's...
Masterlist
Tumblr media
No matter how many times you’ve been here, the mansion’s long, twisting hallways were never as unnerving as when you were alone in them at night. The shadows seemed to skulk closer than they were able to with your partner by your side. Now they skitter and warp, growing in the corners of your vision, as distance stretches between you. You stare after him in outrage and disbelief.
“Rockford!” you hiss.
He doesn’t answer, and you’re forced to nearly jog to catch up with his long stride.
“Marcus!”
He whips around suddenly, and for a fleeting instant he’s caught in the moonlight slanting through the tall, narrow windows. Fury glitters in his eyes. In all the various stages of stress you’ve seen him, his jaw has never been clenched this tightly. His livid expression brings you up short.
The next thing you’re aware of is a searing pressure around your wrist as Marcus’s hand encloses it in his blazingly hot grip, dragging you, stumbling, until you reach one of the manion’s many now-familiar closets. The door slams behind you, and all you can see is darkness.
“I told you not to use my name onsite! You know it could put us in danger!” Marcus’s voice has dropped to a scalding whisper.
“Well, what else was I supposed to do? You weren’t listening to me,Tim!” You place a scornful emphasis on his alias. “You were the one who said we can’t just go stomping around- that we don’t know who we’re dealing with, we have to be careful. You can’t just throw all that away.”
There’s a long, tense silence. You can practically hear Marcus’s internal combustion, a roaring fire of frustration spitting and discarding replies, the pressure rising all the while.
The tension clamors and builds. Marcus takes a long, long inhale- and then releases it, a great gust of a sigh so deep it ruffles your hair in the small space.
Something creaks. You picture him leaning against the shelved walls, or maybe a serving cart. This old mansion was built with a plethora of butler’s pantries, and some of them still contained evidence of when this place actually employed a butler.
There’s a squeaking sound that could only be the wheels of a serving cart as it’s pushed aside.
“I’m sorry. You’re right, and I’m sorry. It’s just…this fucking house, and this case. The evidence keeps piling up, but it’s not leading anywhere. I can’t get anything out of the knives or the needles, and the damn grandma…”
Marcus growls his frustration.
In the utter blackness of your surroundings, the sound breathes goosebumps down the back of your neck.
You swallow, trying to think to professionally. “I know. I’m as frustrated as you are, okay?”
That probably wasn’t strictly true. Marcus’s superpowers were best described as metalbending enhanced by modern-day science, but even he was struggling to glean any insights from the many knives and knitting needles you had in evidence for this case. He’d built his career on cracking strange cases like this; with his powers stymied, it must feel like groping in the dark.
You take a deep breath of your own. “I’m sorry for using your name. I know you told me not to; I just couldn’t think of how to get you to stop.”
Marcus sighs again, but this time it sounds less burdened, like some of his irritation has dissipated.
“I know you understand the danger if my identity was revealed. I just…had to remind you. I’d never be able to forgive myself if something happened to you because of me."
A sound like his shoes scuffing against the ground, a sense of movement in front of you- what is he doing?
His deep voice is much closer suddenly. “Detective?”
You’re grateful he can’t see you jump. “Yes?”
It takes your body a half second longer than your brain to realize that what’s touching your arms are Marcus’s hands, so this time he definitely knows you jumped. You almost immediately relax again, however. No matter how long he’d been wandering around this drafty old house in the cool of night, Marcus always managed to be radiator-warm. With your upper arms in a gentle grasp, he strokes soothing paths with his thumbs.
“Please don’t think I’m questioning your abilities. Just- you have be careful using my real name. No matter how much I enjoy hearing it from you.”
His tone drops to a velvety murmur. Your pulse kicks up. Is he…?
Your breath hitches. You scour the darkness for any glimpse of Marcus’s expression, but are only able to perceive the faintest hint of his silhouette. Blindly, carefully, you lift your hands until they find his chest.
“I’ll be careful.” Your voice comes out remarkably steady.
“By the way…remember how I told you my powers extend even to things like blood? How when I concentrate, I can do things like…sense your heart rate.” Beneath Marcus’s nonchalance lurks a damning amusement.
You still, although it’s not the mention of Marcus’s powers, but rather that of your traitorous, stuttering heart that’s provoked a sudden sense of danger. Blood rushes to your cheeks, doubtless confirming his guess.
Marcus chuckles softly. “Something making you nervous, Boss?”
You swallow hard against your dry mouth. “‘Nervous’ isn’t exactly the word.”
“No?”
Marcus’s suit jacket brushes your front as he rustles closer, and your fingers instinctively curl around the lapels.
“No. Maybe.”
His presence fills the dark, enclosed space. The smell of Marcus pricks at your nose, his deodorant losing out to the exertions of a day of work and two hours of mansion-haunting. You fight the urge to inhale it. Your knees wobble, at risk of giving way.
Marcus takes your hand and guides it higher up his chest. “Me too,” he admits. “See?”
His heart thuds beneath your palm, beneath his ever-present layers of shirts and the firm pectoral beneath. It’s a comfort to find that it beats nearly as rapidly as yours- but not quite, the calm, confident bastard.
“Can’t see much of anything, actually…” It’s low-hanging fruit, but you manage a weak laugh.
Marcus snickers. “Fair enough.”
His breath hits your cheeks first, and then his nose bumps yours. You gasp quietly. It’s still too dark to see, but you can feel him- the shape of his body against yours, every nervous shuffle as he presses as close as he hasn’t dared in the weeks since you’ve met.
“What about now?” he murmurs.
“I think so,” you whisper.
Deep within the house, a door slams.
You both freeze. The tip of your nose digs into Marcus’s cheek; his mouth hovers against yours, your lips barely brushing in an agonizing almost-kiss. Your hands now clutch at each other, every muscle tense and listening.
A Few Weeks Earlier
“Someone else is here,” Marcus breathes.
---
“Detective, meet Agent Tim Rockford. He’s a federal investigative liaison who’s been assigned to assist us on this case.”
You blink. “A what?”
“Just think of me like FBI, but freelance,” the man- Agent Rockford- interjects smoothly. He extends a hand. “Nice to meet you.”
“Likewise,” you say slowly.
A freelance federal investigator? Like…a government-approved private eye? What is this, a noir film?
Surveying the grounds again, you snort to yourself. It might as well be. An utterly nonsensical mystery, set in an enormous mansion that could have easily been the setting of an Agatha Christie investigation? The spooky elegance of rundown old money infuses everything about the place, from the overgrown hedge garden to the mildewing paint of the building’s front turret.
Yeah, you’ve definitely seen a murder mystery setting like this before.
“Take Agent Rockford through the crime scene and get him up to speed. Report to my office before you go home, both of you. There’s been some developments we need to discuss.” Your captain strides back to her car, boots crunching on the gravel roundabout. The fountain in the center, filled with stagnant water, blocks your view of her driving off.
The agent in question is looking around curiously- or at least, you assume it’s curiosity. It’s hard to say for sure with his eyes semi-obscured by a pair of dark lenses. They’re set in a common, unremarkable frame, matching the unassuming aura exuded by his brown pinstripes and polite posture.
“Well, Agent Rockford, let me show you around.” Maybe his job title will make more sense as the day goes on.
“Please, just Tim is fine.”
The man uses his long legs to step neatly ahead and open the door for you. You give him a look, but his smile appears genuine, not condescending- as far as you can tell.
“Right. Well, as you can see, we’ve got gardens to either side of the driveway, which wrap all the way around the house. There’s a couple greenhouses, sheds, and several other entry points to the house, all with locks intact. I’ll take you through the gardens on the way out.”
Only after you finish speaking do you enter the house. “Thanks.”
Rockford pulls the door shut behind him without comment, but you’re sure you spot his mouth twitch.
The entry foyer is brightly lit by a vast chandelier twinkling high above. It illuminates the corniced ceilings, the grand central staircase with gracefully curving banisters, the shiny granite floors. It’s clear that effort was made to preserve this piece of the mansion’s grandeur, if little of the rest of it.
“Wow.” Rockford is openly gaping, neck craning to take in the view overhead and throughout the polished space.
It’s strangely endearing; you would have guessed from the gray flecks in his scruff that a man of Rockford’s experience would be hard to impress by now.
“Yeah. It’s a shame we’ve had to scuff this place up, but, you know. Crime scene.” You gesture wryly, apologetically to the dust tracks and footprints dirtying the marble floor.
“Is the whole house like this?” Rockford adjusts his sunglasses, still looking around. Why doesn’t he take them off?
“More like it used to be like this. The last generation or two of the family wasn’t big enough to need the whole house, so they closed off most of it. The rest is a few years away from caving in.”
Rockford nods. He’s looking closer at the details now- the painted portraits and original wood finishings, the evidence tags in the room beyond- and you can see his professional mind beginning to turn.
He turns to you expectantly. “Lead the way, Boss.”
--
Whatever you thought a ‘federal investigative liaison’ might be, it wasn’t Rockford- Tim, as he kept insisting. He was sharp without being obnoxious, respectful without being spineless, and, as you discovered, making your way back through the station, funny. As Tim pulls a face at your least favorite colleague’s diminishing figure, you think: maybe this case won’t be such a drag after all.
“Captain. You wanted to see us?”
“Yes, come in. Shut the door, please.”
Sitting at her desk, your captain shuffles aside the paperwork she’d been doing and unlocks a drawer to retrieve another file folder.
“Rockford. I trust my detective brought you up to speed?”
Tim nods, his face strangely grave. “Yes. I’d like to be honest with her, if you agree.”
“I think at least one other person should be aware. And she’s one of my best; you can trust her.”
Your captain’s praise doesn’t quite mollify your irritation at being talked about like you aren’t there. You’re opening your mouth to interject when she squares her shoulders to you.
“Detective. My apologies for the subterfuge. The agent here will be your partner and federal arm in this case- but Tim Rockford is not his real name.
“This is Agent Marcus Moreno, from a classified branch of the FBI which trains super-powered individuals in investigative capacities.”
You stare, dumbfounded.
“All that means in practice is that we’re detectives, just with super powers,” Tim- Agent Moreno- adds hastily. He awaits your reaction with a thin, anxious smile.
Your stunned gaze slides to him.
Oh. He’s removed his sunglasses.
Well, that’s…distracting, frankly. Clearly visible for the first time, his eyes are a lovely shade of brown, and round and shiny with sincerity- utterly incongruous with the rest of his ‘generic jaded detective’ look.
“It was my decision not to tell anyone at first. It’s safer that way- it’s hard to know who to trust with this information, being classified and all. But since we’ll be working together so closely, I think it’s better for us to be open with each other.”
Well, that changes things. Or does it? It’s not your first time working with the FBI, but it is your first time meeting an agent with superpowers. Like a freaking Heroic!
And you’ve seen the danger they face. Seen them targeted by all manner of enemies. You remember the shock and terror on their faces when one of their identities was publicly revealed- and the terrible, gaping hole left when that particular hero vanished afterward.
Maybe you can understand Moreno’s desire for discretion.
You stick your hand out to the anxious agent sitting beside you. “Nice to meet you, Agent Moreno.”
Thanks for reading! Find more on my Masterlist ❤
His relief is palpable. He accepts your handshake with a boyish smile. “Please, just Marcus is fine.”

The Myth of Y/N (Korra x Reader) Part 26
OLD FACE. NEW IDENTITY.
Y/N’S POV
Kuvira and finally arrived back at the edge of Zaofu where the Beifong Household is located. After our emotional talk about our parents of all things we hung out for bit more while before we headed back. Apparently, the guard’s shift was about to start soon.
When we finally reach back to where we began, it was past afternoon. I don’t see any of my friends anywhere. They must be around here somewhere.
“Here we are.” Kuvira states.
“Here we are.” I echo back.
I glance back at the guard with a smile who smiles back.
“This was nice.” I tell her. “I had a good time.”
She nods. “As did I. Hopefully, we could meet again before your departure.”
I hum in agreement. “So do I.”
Then, before I can even react, a press of warm lips land on my cheek and I am engulfed in flames.
“Good day, Y/N.” Kuvira tells me with a smirk, finding my flushed state amusing, and walks away with her hands behind her back in a business-like stature.
Even when she’s walking away, my cheeks still feel like they are on fire. I place a hand on the cheek that she had kissed.
Well then…
Shaking out of my flustered state, I start walking around the city and trying to find anyone there. It’s time I stopped avoiding them.
It took a few minutes, but I finally found them.
And what I see…
“What in the spirits is going on here?!”
I see Lin lying unconscious on the floor with Korra holding her head. Boulders spread out across the land like confetti, metal panels bent out of shape to form barriers, and I even see one of those weird metal structures crashed against the wall.
That’s not the only thing I see. I notice Opal on a bridge with Suyin and Bolin on the right end and most of the Beifong family on the left.
“Y/N!” Bolin exclaims with urgency. “Not trying to be rude but, uh, you kinda showed up at the wrong time.”
“Clearly.” I agree, walking closer to Korra and Lin. I kneel down next time and examine the Chief of Republic City Police’s health to see her condition. She looks awful. Not only is she slightly wounded from the fight, but she looks as pale and white as the snow land of the South Pole.
Opal rush towards us too, her posture clearly expressing her nearly overwhelming worry. “Is she okay?!”
“She’s pale.” I comment. “And slightly injured but…she’ll be all right. What happened?”
“I just learnt how to metalbend and Bolin was about to start but Lin showed up out of nowhere.” Korra explains, nervous and confusion mixed into one. “She and Su started to argue and then Lin attacked and all of a sudden they started fighting!”
Putting the revelation that Korra can now metalbend aside, I continue focusing on the chief. Sounds like the tension between the two siblings finally reached its dangerous breaking point.
“That doesn’t matter right now.” Suyin tells us, who has now walked towards us. Her tone expresses regret and shame. “We need to take Lin to her room and give her some medical attention.”
“Agreed.” I tell her. “Let’s carry her.”
With the strength of Korra, Bolin, Suyin, and I, we manage to bring her to her guest room. When we place her onto the bed, Aiwei enters the room with clear distress. “I heard what happened. Is she all right?”
“I’m not sure.” Suyin tells him.
The trusted advisor lets out a very tense sigh. He marches towards Lin and examines her. “This is my fault. I suggested to her to visit an acupuncturist to help deal with her supressed feelings. She must have not allowed herself to rest once the process was done.”
The worries from the matriarch and the truth seer aren’t mutual to mine.
“The Chief has been through worse.” I assure them but looking at Suyin specifically with sympathy. “She’ll live.”
“Y/N is right.” Korra agrees, facing them too. “Lin has dealt Equalists and mecha tanks. If she can survive that, she can survive this.”
The words of our reassurances seem to have worked as the tense and frightened looks of Suyin, Aiwei, and Opal smooth out and diminish slightly.
“That’s good to hear.” Aiwei responds. “Right now, I think she just needs some rest. We should leave her be.”
Yeah, that’s probably the best idea.
As we all reluctantly leave and then proceed to go our separate ways, I hear my name being called out.
“Y/N. May I have a word?”
I turn and see the matriarch. Her expression is unreadable.
With my fists tightly clenched and my body tensed, I slowly but surely walk towards her.
“Yes?”
“Thank you for helping to bring my sister here.” She tells me with her tone containing gratitude. “You didn’t have to after our last meeting.”
Oh…
“Lin needed help.” I reply. “I wasn’t going to refuse to help her because of some argument.”
She nods in understanding. “Of course. You’re as noble as Korra.”
“No chance.” I tell her in an attempt to appear humble. I hesitate slightly and bite my lip. Then, finally, I continue speaking. “Look, I am not going to apologise for what I said last night. I stand by my words. But…I will apologise for how I said it in front of your family. That was uncalled for.”
My apology seems to have startled the matriarch as her eyes widen in surprise. Then, a moment later, the surprise is gone. “Thank you. Apology accepted.”
And, with an exchange of nods, we depart.
I meet up with Korra, Bolin, and now Mako and Asami who seemed to have been caught up on what happened.
“The talk with Su gone all right?” Korra asks me when I finally approach them.
“Surprisingly, yeah.” I reply. “I apologised for how I acted to her. We seem to be on mostly good terms now.”
“That’s a relief.” Asami says. “That means you won’t be skipping breakfast tomorrow?”
I rub the back of my head with a sheepish grin. “I’ll be there.”
“What were you doing anyway?”
“I had a prior engagement.”
Korra cocks an eyebrow. “Prior engagement?”
I shake my head gently. “Met a guard of Zaofu when I stormed out. We hung out and decided to hang out today. She seemed pretty cool.”
“Pretty cool, huh?” Bolin asks with a smirk.
The memory of Kuvira’s kiss on my cheeks resurfaces and I feel my cheeks heat up slightly. Regardless, I roll my eyes.
“Not like that.” I tell him. “What about you guys, though?”
“Like I said before, Suyin gave me some metalbending lessons!” Korra informs me with excitement. “I am now the world’s first metalbending avatar!”
My eyes widen. Not even Aang learned metalbending? Interesting.
“That’s awesome, Korra!” I tell her. I turn to our earthbending friend. “What about you, Bolin? Did Suyin teach you too?”
My words seem to have struck the wrong chord, though, as nervousness washes over him. “Uh, no. No. Not yet. She was about to but, uh, Lin interrupted.”
“Oh.” I respond, not really knowing what to say. “Well, I’m sure she will give you some lessons later.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Bolin responds, the nervousness still present. “Of course.”
Hm. Odd.
I open my mouth to speak…and then close it.
Now with the urgency of Lin’s condition now gone, the memory of my conversation I had with Kuvira and my final decision now returns more louder than ever.
It’s time.
“There’s something I need to tell you, guys.” I announce, my voice calm and steady. “Well, specifically, I need to tell you something Korra and Mako.”
“Why us two?” Mako asks, eyebrow raised in curiosity.
I gaze downwards to the ground, and I rub my arm up and down. “Asami and Bolin already know.”
“Know what?” Korra presses.
I take a deep breath and slowly let it out. Despite making my decision, I still feel my heart beating as fast as an Air Scooter.
“Back on Air Temple Island…” I begin softly, shifting my gaze to my friends now. “I phoned up my parents to tell them I got airbending and was planning on join the Air Nation…”
“What did they say?” the firebender asks.
I sigh yet again. “They told me if I join the Air Nation…they will disown me.”
Mako’s jaw drops in shock. Bolin and Asami stare at me with sympathy and care. And Korra…
“They…they couldn’t…”
I get it. I really, really do. Korra has known my parents for years. I’ve lost count of how many times she came to my house and played together while my parents watched on. They treated her almost like she was their own daughter.
“I thought the same.” I bitterly mutter. “But they did. They were being dead serious. They told me I was trying to abandon the Southern Water Tribe.”
“What?!” Korra exclaims, concern now being replaced with anger. “How could they do this?!”
“That’s not it.” I continue. I turn to face her directly and I see the fiery rage in her normally cool eyes. “They even brought you into it by wanting me to ask you take my bending away.”
“WHAT?!” Korra barks out. “That’s it! Let me call them and I’ll- “
“-Korra, no.” I interrupt her, placing both of my hands on her shoulders. I squeeze them gently. “It’s okay, I-“
“-It’s not okay!” she tells me. “They’re your parents and they’re willing to abandon you! That’s awful! How are you fine with all of this?”
“I’m not.” I bluntly tell her. “When the call ended, Bolin saw me as an emotional wreck. It has been bothering me since we’ve left Air Temple Island. I didn’t want everyone else knowing yet. I only told Asami about it because she’s had similar experiences with family trouble.”
“Why didn’t you tell me and Korra?” Mako questions. His tone doesn’t come across as judging or hurting or anything of the sort. Just curiosity.
I sigh. “You guys were so excited and focused on finding new airbenders and I…I didn’t want to be a downer.”
Before I can even react, Korra’s two strong arms pull me into a tight hug with her face buried in my shoulder.
“You will NEVER be a downer.” She assures me. “I’m sorry you’ve been feeling this. I knew something was off, but I had no idea it was this bad. I’m so sorry.”
The beating of my heart that was running as fast as a Satomobile slows down to a gentle pace and a comfortable warmth fills my form. I hug her back just as tightly and smile. “It’s okay. I get it and…I’ve made my decision.”
“And?” Asami asks.
Korra pulls back to look at me. I gaze at all of my friends, and I take a deep breath. “I’m going to join the Air Nation.”
“But your parents-“
“-Screw them.” I interrupt my best friend, looking back at her. “I’m not going to let them bully me into not living my life. I want to rebuild the Air Nation and be part of its culture. If they don’t want to be part of my life when I do that, so be it. It will hurt, really hurt, but…I have accepted it.”
As soon as I finish my monologue, two big, strong arms wrap around my waist and lift me upwards. I know the all too familiar hug.
“We’re so proud of you!” Bolin exclaims, voice overly emotional.
Mako and Asami walk closer to Korra, Bolin and, I, smiles full of pride on their features.
“Good on you, Y/N.” Mako compliments.
“I’m glad you’ve made your decision.” Asami adds on.
Korra is the last one who speaks up. “We’re always going to be here for you. I will always be here for you.”
Spirits…
I feel droplets beginning to form from the kind and heart-warming reassurances.
“I know.” I finally tell them, voice watery. “I have you, guys.”
“Yeah!” Bolin agrees, now excited. “You have Team Avatar!”
Classic Bolin.
I giggle at his excitement. “Yeah, I have Team Avatar.”
We’re like that for a moment or two, basking in the warmth that is our friendship. It feels like all the problems in the world are nothing but a minor inconvenience now.
Everything will be all right.
TIME SKIP
Darkness clouds my vision as I rouse from slumber.
Great. Another restless night.
Some time passed since I told my friends of my situation with my parents. Lin managed to fully recover and even patched things up with Suyin and her niece. Opal even convinced Suyin to let her go to the Northern Air Temple to learn and train with the rest of the airbenders. We just saw her depart a few hours ago.
At least, I think it was a few hours ago. I don’t know how long I slept. Ugh.
After a few minutes, my vision adjusts to the dark room and I can see everything more clearly. For now, though, I am not interested. I continue staring at the ceiling, lying flat on my back.
The thoughts of my parents stills fill my mind.
I have made my decision to join the Air Nation. Now I just need to tell them.
Tomorrow...
Yeah, tomorrow. I might as well get it over with.
After one phone call, my old life will be over.
Despite the hurt that will come, the wonder and joy of living the life of an Air Nomad will be worth it. I know it.
Maybe, just maybe, if I allow myself to think of it and if I’m really, really lucky…that new life will have Korra as my girlfri-
“THEY’VE GOT KORRA!”
WHAT?!
Scrambling out of my room and my own room, I see Mako and Bolin already sprinting out of theirs. I follow them soon afterwards, and I see four of the strangest people I have ever seen.
A tall and powerful woman with a jet black ponytail and a tattooed third eye. A combustion bender?!
A long-haired woman with…watertendrils as arms?! WHAT?!
A scruffy-looking bearded man with a dangerous build and stance, carrying an unconscious Korra over his shoulder. That bastard!
And a bald man in robes. Wait…he looks familiar somehow…
I don’t have much time to ponder on this, however, as the four individuals unleashed a tsusnami of attacks with boulders, flames, water whips, and gusts of wind.
Wait-
Gusts of wind?! An airbender?!
Zaheer…
That airbender must be Zaheer. Lin said he got airbending now.
But still…why do I feel like I know him?!
Again, I don’t have time to analyse that question but thankfully Bolin creates an earth barrier to block the initial attack of the boulders which buys us just enough time to dodge the other incoming attacks and take cover behind one of the metal pillars.
“Sound the alarm!” I yell out to any guards in the area. “Zaheer and his friends are here!”
My yell worked as not even a second afterwards an ear-piercing screech that was the alarm fills my ears and blinding headlights appear into view and start shining towards the four individuals.
My relief is short lived, however, as mere seconds later an explosion appears out of absolutely nowhere with a force of ten mecha tanks which fling the three of us backwards! I roughly land on my back and pain fills my entire form!
Asami rushes to us with panic and worry written clear on her face.
“We can’t let them take her.” Mako groggily tell us, trying to recover from the impact of the explosion.
“I don’t think they’re going to get far.” Asami reassures us. She points towards them with urgency. “Look!”
I turn to the direction Asami pointed at and I see it.
Together with the effort of Lin, Wei, Wong, Kuvira, and the rest of the guards they are able to trap the four fugitives in a metal prison of their own making.
“We have you surrounded. It’s over.” Kuvira declares, her tone not revealing any trace of fear or nervousness. “Release the Avatar!”
I rush up to them to examine the scene. Okay, okay. Good. They can’t escape now! There’s no way they can-
-Suddenly, the grass around begins to be filled with molten rock, then filled with a hot pool of lava!
WHAT?! HOW?!
The metal panels that trapped the four fugitives succumb to the overwhelming heat of the lava and one by one they fall apart, revealing them in battle stances.
“No way! That guy is lavabending!” Bolin exclaims with complete shock. “That’s awesome…ly not good for us.”
Lavabending?! That’s a thing?!
“Save your admiration for later, Bolin.” I snap at him.
Then I see the bald man use his wooden staff attempt to create some sort of cover for him and his friends with his airbending. One of the guards notices this and exploits the temporary vulnerability by shooting out a metal cable that wraps around his arms like a snake and with considerable strength, flings him away off the platform!
That man…why is he so damn familiar? I have to know!
I run. I run despite the yells and screams of my friends. I run to where the man lands as he fights two of the guards. Much to my surprise, he seems to be taking them on effortlessly with some sort of mixture of martial arts and airbending. Who in the spirits is this guy?!
He blasts the two a good distance away and before he can press his attack, I launch my own with a powerful gust of wind! He is sent back but quickly recovers with a retaliatory swing of his staff that creates a tunnel of wind in my direction. I dodge with a roll, raise my fist and-
Freeze.
So does the man, his eyes now so wide they look like they could pop open.
That face…
I know that face…
I know those olive green eyes and those sharp eyebrows. I know that slightly cut left eyebrow which has been disconnected from one section of the eyebrow to the other.
“Yorru?!” I exclaim, my stance faltering into shakiness.
The flash of recognition in his eyes confirms my suspicions. “Y/N?!”
It is Yorru!
Yorru is the man who tried to kidnap Korra?!
Yorru is Zaheer?!
“What are you doing?!” One of the two guards yells wh are now running back. They launch their metal cables at Yor-Zaheer, but he dodges them with a quick backflip. When he lands he launches yet another air strike which hits them again. This time, however, it knocks them out cold.
And I? I just stand there during all of this, still frozen in shock of the truth.
When the guards get knocked back, though, I snap out of it.
I rush forward to Zaheer and deliver a low air swipe kick in an attempt to knock him to the ground. I know he would most likely dodge it and when he does just now I use my low position from my previous attack to roll away from his counter-attack and then flip into the air, spin as fast as I can, and launch a powerful air kick!
Only for him to dodge it!
WHAT?!
Now left vulnerable midair, Zaheer launches an upward air kick in retaliation which knocks be back to the top of one of the pillars, hitting me straight in the spine.
“AGH!”
I land with a loud THUD! I try so hard to get up but the pain on my back is too much.
However, instead of seeing him towering above me, I glance up and I see Zaheer looking back at the platform with his face full of panic.
Panic?!
I look to the source of his fear, and I see it.
Lin Beifong, Korra in her arms, holding a metal cable that is elevating her to the top of the dome, away from the other fugitives.
YES!
My relief quickly vanishes because Zaheer turns his staff into an air glider and begins advancing towards the two in the air!
NO!
Luckily, Lin dodges Zaheer’s attack and before he can launch another one Suyin appears in a metal cable of her own and sends dozens of daggers into his direction, ruining one of the wings of the glider and causing him to land back onto the glider!
Before, I can celebrate the victory, however, the entire area is filled with black smoke that clouds my eyes! When my vision recovers, they are gone!
HOW?!
Despite the frustration, though, we had a victory. We saved Korra.
KORRA!
Ignoring the excruciating torment, I am feeling, I slowly rise to my feet. Almost immediately after I get up my back engulfs into a fiery torture of suffering. “AH!”
“Y/N!” Asami yells, rushing forward to me. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine!” I snap, trying to advance forward. However, as soon as I take a step, I begin tumbling back onto the floor. Luckily, Asami catches me just in time.
“You’re not fine!” She retorts angrily. “You’re badly hurt!”
“I don’t care!” I bark back. “I need to see Korra! Is she okay?!”
“Lin and Suyin have her.” She replies. “We need to give you some medical attention.”
DAMMIT!
TIME SKIP
We are in Suyin’s office. I am sat with Mako, Bolin, and Asami on one sofa while on the sofa opposite, Korra lies still while Aiwei takes care of her. When I saw her, my heart broke again. I haven’t seen her this bad since she broke down sobbing in front of Tenzin and I during the Equalist Crisis. No, scratch that. This is worse.
“This should neutralise the shirashu toxins.” Aiwei informs Korra, handing her some sort of drink. It seems to have worked slightly, as I see her slightly moving her fingers. It ain’t much but it’s a start.
“How could you let this happen?!” Lin yells at Suyin, frustration clearly present. “You assured me this was one of the most secure places in the world.”
“It is.” Suyin counters. “I don’t know how this happened. Obviously, this was a well-planned operation, so don’t blame me.”
WHAT?! How fucking dare she!
“Take some fucking responsibility!” I loudly tell her, my rage allowing me to ignore the pain of my back. “It’s clear you have a rat within Zaofu! A rat who is very influential and knows the city inside and out like your guards! Your arrogance nearly costed Korra’s life!”
The short-lived peace we established has fallen apart as Suyin glares daggers at me. “You have no right to lecture me, Y/N! We will question them all! Whoever betrayed my city will suffer the consequences!”
I let out a sarcastic laugh. “Oh, so when outsiders make “some mistakes” you give them second chances but when someone within Zaofu makes one then they will get punished? Fucking rich!”
“Enough, Y/N!” Lin barks out, silencing me in an instant. The anger, while still present, is mixed with shame and guilt.
Dammit. I told Korra I would tolerate Suyin and I already failed…
“Everyone!”
We all turn to the voice and I see Kuvira, standing tall and proud. “We searched the entire estate. There’s no sign of them.”
DAMMIT!
“Well, keep looking!” Lin orders at the captain.
Now that the silence has filled the room, despite the intensity due to the argument between Suyin and I, my mind returns to Zaheer.
I need to tell them.
“I met Zaheer before.” I announce.
“WHAT?!” everyone shouts, absolutely shocked. Even Korra, in her paralysed state, appears shocked with her widened eyes.
“When?!” Lin demands. “When did this happen?!”
“It was just before Harmonic Convergence.” I explain, trying my hardest to recollect. “Korra, Jinora, and I meditated into the Spirit World to close the Northern and Southern Portals, but we got separated. A spirit told me to go to Wan Shi Tong’s Spirit Library for some answers. When I got lost, Zaheer approached me. He said his name was Yorru and he guided me to the library and just…disappeared.”
“Did he say anything to you?!” Lin demands, quickly processing my story and like a true Chief of Police seeks out any other relevant information. “Anything at all?”
I pinch the bridge of my nose as I concentrate to find the memories.
“I simply spend my time in this realm because it makes me feel more free than ever. Freedom is essential to one's happiness."
“I haven't been free in a long time. "What ifs" and what could have beens have been plaguing my mind for years. I'm homeless, you see? I am worthless to the eyes of corrupt leaders of the nations. But here? Here, I feel more alive than ever."
“I did. Three of them, actually. They were my best friends. One of them...she...she was the love of my life. But they're gone now."
"I, too, find the culture fascinating. I admire it. Their views on life and how the world works are truly inspiring."
“He…he talked about freedom, corrupt nation leaders, having three now gone best friends with one of them being the love of his life, and his fascination with the Air Nomads.” I slowly tell them as I begin to remember the words. “I assume the three friends he was talking about was the other fugitives present. However, he also claimed he was homeless. For all I know some of it could be bullshit.”
“It’s the best we’ve got.” The Chief tells me. “That’s more information we’ve had about him than when we interrogated him.”
“Why didn’t you tell us before?” Mako questions.
I frown. “I didn’t think it was important. How was I supposed to know he was a criminal? That doesn’t matter now, what matters is that we need to find out let them in and why.”
“And we will do just that!” Suyin exclaims. “We won’t stop until the traitor is found!”
She marches off, anger still burning within her. I frown yet again. The absolute hypocrisy of that woman drives me fucking insane!
I glance back at Korra who is still lying flat on her back and paralysed. I’ve never seen her so helpless before in my life.
My fists clench at the sight.
Zaheer will suffer for this.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that's it!
Did you know Yorru was Zaheer? He used that name when he infiltrated Air Temple Island in "Rebirth"
Hope you all enjoyed it!
Feedback is appreciated!
See you all in the next chapter!

ᴄʜᴇʀʀʏ ʙʟᴏꜱꜱᴏᴍꜱ ɪɴ ᴀ ᴅɪꜰꜰᴇʀᴇɴᴛ ᴅɪᴍᴇɴꜱɪᴏɴ || ᴘʀᴏʟᴏɢᴜᴇ
2k12!Leonardo x Waterbender! reader
"We’ll miss you y/n.” Aang’s eyes are glassy. He gives her one last hug, a final goodbye. “I won’t.” Sokka grumbles under his breath, glancing away before letting out a yelp at Katara subtly pinching his side with a glare.
“...Maybe a little bit.” He admits, cheeks slightly flushed. “I know for a fact that without me around to steal your food, you’re gonna put on a few pounds.” Y/n snaps back playfully, a cheeky smile dancing on her lips.
As hard as it was to say goodbye to her close friends, she knew she had to leave. She wasn’t meant to be tied down to palace life, nor was she destined to help Aang with his avatar duties and whatnot.
“Say hi to Master Pakku for me,” Y/n says, with a wink aimed at Katara whom gladly nods, “he still owes me a spar.”
“Everyone does.” Sokka snorts. "Yeah, well, it’s hard to keep track when we were saving the world and all.” Y/n crosses her arms, giving him a half-hearted glare.
She picks up her baggage, consisting of just a single backpack and sling bag which she quickly opens to check its contents. “Are you sure you really have to go?” Aang pleads, his bottom lip jutting out in a tiny pout.
Y/n giggles. After everything they had been through in the war, it was easy to forget that he was just a kid too. “Yes Aang, we’ve talked about this. I want to explore the nations as a regular kid, especially now that we’re in a time of peace.”
She had already said her goodbyes to Toph Beifong, the latter refusing to give away any sign that she would miss Y/n. Instead, Toph had punched her in the arm and muttered a shy invitation to drop by the metalbending academy she was planning to start. Y/n had then wrapped her up in a hug, promising that she would.
Zuko approaches them, his posture rigid and with him, an aura of dignity befitting of his status as the newly crowned Fire Lord. “Y/n.” he gives a stiff nod, and she reciprocates the gesture. “May the spirits always be with you. If you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to ask. The palace will always welcome you.”
Letting a chuckle slip past her lips, Y/n places her hands on her hips and grins. “Thanks Zuko. Make sure to take breaks every now and then or your fire’ll go out.”
She turns and faces the palace gates, gnawing on her bottom lip slightly. “Well, till we meet again guys.”
She takes her first step. Then another. And she continued, adrenaline starting to course through her veins. This was a brand new start to the next chapter of her life, one she would have full control over with no more war, no more fighting, no more saving the world.
At least, that was what Y/n thought until she fell through a portal in the nearby woods of where Hama used to live, emerging in a completely different reality with talking mutants, Martial Arts, and an odd thing they called ‘WiFi’.
Oh, and of course, a certain group of ninja turtles.

Kind of random but I've always thought that metelkinesis/metalbending would be a great quirk for Bakugo's sidekick because she could create blast shield walls to trap villains or reduce collateral damage. Her shields are so effective that almost all her time on the field is spent by Dynamight's side so that he doesn't have to hold back during fights. Sometimes he goes berserk on purpose so that afterwards he'll get to see her sweating and panting from the effort of maintaining the shields against his relentless explosions. Pervert.
This is so cute. But it’s now given me an idea of reader using her quirk to prevent blowback from Bakugou’s quirk but instead accidentally blocking herself into a tight space/room with him and neither of them can get out because she’s exhausted herself and needs to build energy before she can use her quirk again to fix it👀
But I also love the idea of Bakugou thinking he doesn’t need you, that the damage from his quirk isn’t that bad and that he can get away with it by paying for damages every time. But working with you he finds himself beginning to love your company and your attitude, and it helps that he thinks you’re real pretty.
So maybe sometimes he sets off an explosion in the wrong direction a few times, or uses a bit too much of his quirk just to watch you try to salvage the situation. You can’t blame him, not when you look so pretty in your hero costume all out of breath👀

oh! oh! since you mentioned atla in ur original silks!reader post, you reminded me of suyin beifong from lok! if i'm remembering correctly, she started metalbending dancing! So! vm/mn/bh seeing them do something like that with their aerial arts?
I can imagine a bit of some Cirque de Soleil
On the DL, Suyin and Suki were some of my faves because of the “dance fighting”
Vox Machina
What a talent! You’re amazing! A showstopper! Vex, Pike, Grog, and Scanlan do not mince words on seeing you in action, whereas Percy, Keyleth and Vax have a more shy, coy and subtle way of flattering you
The Mighty Nein
Automatically, Jester, Beau and Nott/Veth are your biggest fans! Jester just babbles on and on with her praise, saying she has a talented mom and now you! Mollymauk and Yasha have to fight (affectionately) for your attention. Cadeuces is still chill AF and compliments you. Meanwhile, Fjord, Caleb and Essek fumble over complimentary words with their own charm.
Bell’s Hells
A loving chaotic band of misfits meets one more! After any skirmishes or performances, you’re bombarded with questions, compliments, Chetney’s inputs, etc.
Good luck trying to break free for a moment’s breath! Also, if you try to communicate with Dorian, he’s constantly asking back and forth about it

Breakdown of Linzin's Kids in the "You Are My Life" AU
For any readers who keep up with my Linzin AU called "You Are My Life" and my new storyline for this particular universe, "Choices, Chances, Changes," I always thought that sometimes it can get confusing to keep up with Linzin OC kids.
And mine is no exception. So I finally took the time to break down my OC linzin kids to make easier for the readers to keep up with their names/bending/personalities. In order from oldest to youngest:
Meilin Beifong
Looks almost exactly like Lin, except with grey eyes
Earthbender/metalbender - according to Toph, she's going to be her successor
Talented in the performing arts (particularly music and dance). She's a singer, dancer, and performer. Dance and music has been her passion from a very young age, and Linzin encouraged this talent because they saw that this was a path she wanted to pave for herself. Bends a variety of her metal costumes on-stage as part of her act
Personality - think current Lady Gaga vibes. She's sensual, elegant, badass, brutally honest, yet speaks kindly about others and to them. Has high expectations of herself and especially in her craft, constantly trying to improve as a singer/dancer. As the oldest sibling, she is extremely protective of her family and that might be a trait she inherited from Lin. Due to a particular incident (this will be referenced in a future chapter of "Choices, Chances, Changes") it was the catalyst that made her the strong and beautifully minded woman she is now.
Flaw is that she expects everyone to work as diligently as she does. Clashes with Lin because they have the a lot of the same habits and outspoken nature with each other. She's also extremely particular about the types of friends she has bc she's unsure if they genuinely want to befriend her or if they're trying to get close because of the Beifong name
Also, she's horny. Must have gotten that from her parents. She knows she's hot af and can get any man she wants. Down for a hook-up or long-term. Depends on the person.
Jin Beifong
Resembles Tenzin if he had hair, but with green eyes
Airbender
18 months apart from Mei (yup, the math is pretty easy here)
Very reserved personality, laid-back, enjoys reading, not much of an extrovert. However, he is extremely competitive. No one believes it until they play against him and the siblings in kuai ball. Or hear him yelling at his brother during the school probending competitions.
He is academically inclined and has excellent memorization skills
Although he is an airbender and wants to carry on the Air Nation culture, one of the things he wanted to do was become a professor and teach about his own culture in a more modernized way. This kind of created some clashing between him and Tenzin bc of their conflicting views on how to preserve their own culture.
Flaw - he always has to be right or prove others wrong. It comes off in an arrogant manner at times with people who aren't familiar with his personality. Also, he didn't go to school with two of his siblings so social skills aren't as strong.
Kang Beifong
Earthbender/metalbender
"first twin" by 4 minutes
Personality - a combination of David Rose (Schitt's Creek), Five (the Umbrella Academy), and Toph.
Sassy af, he will tell you what's wrong with your face directly to your face. Anytime he roasts someone or is about to spit straight facts to his opponent, his language becomes academically elegant to reinforce his intellect and sass. Also loves to joke around, especially with Lin. He's very in tune with his emotions and often talks it out with his sisters because they're more willing to listen than Jin. He likes to look sharp and good, so often collaborating with Mei over fashion and presentation when they attend galas with their parents
Flaw - he can be very judgmental of others and is also extremely selective about his group of friends bc of the Beifong name. His sass and extremely outspoken nature makes him intimidating to a lot of people, especially when his voice gets loud.
Has a wide set of interests including sports and also fashion design + tailoring.
Areum Beifong
Airbender
Second twin
The sweetheart, the cinnamon roll of the Beifong children. Definitely inherited Aang's peaceful and sweet-tempered nature. She sees the best in people and is empathetic. Spiritually inclined and always attracting animals or children who manage to wobble away from their parents.
She has a tendency of self-comparing herself to her siblings because she feels that she's not as outspoken or sassy like many perceive Beifongs to be. From her POV, her older sis is a famous celebrity in the entertainment world, her big brother is an academic genius, her twin brother is known for his snappy comebacks and sassy personality, while she's not quite sure what she really brings to the table. Except that she's the sweet one.
Has a good relationship with all of her siblings and parents. Very close with Mei, not just bc they're sisters, but bc Mei saved her life.
Siblings will say she's Linzin's favorite, but she argues no
Loves to paint with Tenzin, artistic with crafts and art

Avatar: Legend of Korra Fanfiction - Korra x OC Male Reader.
(DISCLAIMER’S: I DON’T OWN THE LEGEND OF KORRA IP OR IT’S CHARACTERS! & THIS IS A NON CANON FANFICTION THAT ISN’T CONSTRAINED BY THE LIMITATIONS OF THE OFFICIAL AVATAR LOK CANON & ANY ATTEMPT’S TO SILENCE THIS FANFIC IS A BLATANT VIOLATION OF MY FREE SPEECH RIGHT’S!)
Chapter 4: Secrets.
Ricks POV in a small Earth Kingdom village nearby the mountain range prison:
I wake up with the sunlight shining in my eyes & realising I have slept in “oh Spirit’s, I gotta hurry!” I rush out of bed & get changed into my White Lotus uniform as I’m about to head out the door I just then remembered something “Oh, I almost forgot to my water my cactus!” After I finish I quickly head out to make my way to the airship station while grabbing a quick bite to eat along the way from a small Tofu stand, which makes the best in this side of the Earth Kingdom “Here you go Rick, your usual spicy steamed chicken Tofu with no mushrooms!” “Thanks Nox you’re the best, how much do I owe ya?” “Just 5 yuan’s” “here.” I handed him the money as he asked “Why did you quit that Metalbending Task Force anyway?” “I didn’t, I got promoted. Apparently I impressed the Metal Bending Boss herself Cheff Beifong. Sure I’m not in the taskforce anymore & I’ve had to essentially uproot my entire life & move far away. But anyway when you have a family of your own you’ll understand..-” “Alright alright I don’t need to hear your whole life story, now you better hurry off now or you’re gonna be late for work.” “Oh right, thanks for the pick me up!” I said as I started booking it to the airship station. I noticed I’m running behind schedule & use my Earthbending to launch myself onto the rooftops & started racing to the airship I reach the station as it’s about to take off & enter just as the White Lotus Airship Transport shuts it’s doors when another White Lotus guard remarks “Took ya long enough Rocky Rick..” I catch my breath then say “Better late *deep breath* ..that never, heh.” Then the Airship takes off bound for the Mountainside Prison.
Hours later-
As we arrive at the prison it’s nearly late, clear skies & there’s a very bright full moon too, like me & few other guards a couple of days ago there’s a small group of White Lotus guards waiting at the landing zone for the shift changes, i & the rest of the passengers get off while the other guards boarded the airship I quickly ask one of the off duty guards “Hey, has Old Gary Clocked in yet for his shift?” & she says “Yes I think so, he should be on patrol right about now.” “Okay, thanks.” She boards the airship & it immediately takes off, I think on where I saw last him going & head to where he went before I lost sight of him only to find a dead end wall which was odd so I placed the palm of my hand onto the ground & put my echo sense training to good use. After a few seconds I started sensing a void this wall, i stand up & forcefully Earthbended this false wall open & discover a Planning Room, there’s Temple maps, ancient scrolls, there’s even a stack of encrypted letters here & a dairy. Last log entry was two days ago. ‘It’s almost time to act after soo many months of waiting under cover as one of these pathetic short sighted idiots, practicing & honing my skills on the brat you sent for me to train on, just a couple of more days until I can finally liberate our glorious leader & finally without the White Lotus!’ As I finish reading this last passage I turn the page to find this insignia.
Tumblr media
I gasped & said to myself “I need to warn the rest of the guards & sound the alarm’s!..” as I’m making my way to the security tower I see Old Gary standing on it’s & decided to pursue him.
Old Gary’s POV:
I’m currently looking over the Prison from the top of one of the Guard Tower’s basking in the full moon light after I finished planting the explosives all around the prison during my patrol, I have my finger on the trigger ready to finally set the plan into motion. I gleefully smile from ear to ear as I say “After all these years of carful planning ..has finally led to this ONE ..GLORIOUS MOMENT TO FINALLY FREE MY MASTER!-” I’m then interrupted by the meddlesome Lotus guard from before as he shouts “HALT! I HEREBY ARREST YOU FOR CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT A JAILBREAK OF A KNOWN SERIAL KILLER & FOR TORTURING A YOUNG CHILD!” “YOU’RE TOO LATE STOP WHAT’S COMING, enjoy the show!” I say as I lift my hand holding the detonator up for him to see “IT’S OVER GARY, THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING ..STAND DOWN!” “..& here GO!” *Click* (Loud Explosions)
End of Chapter..

Tumblr media
I don't wanna let it burn in the city lights and make the same mistakes.
Tumblr media
♡ ; Kuvira and you had been flirting with each other for quite some time now before one got the enough courage to ask the other out.
♡ ; It was totally you. It was way too spontaneous.
♡ ; One day you two were talking on her break from the surveillance, eating a snack you brought to share.
♡ ;‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “We should go on a date, what about friday night?” you would ask out of nowhere.
♡ ; In clear shock, Kuvira would've chocked on a bite of the snack, before getting herself together and accepting the date with the strongest tone of red in your face.
♡ ; You gave her the sweetest smile before continuing eating and talking like nothing happened.
♡ ; But in her head were sounding alarms and screams excited to finally having a formal date with you.
♡ ; And don't get her wrong! She loved the spontaneous get together you two had, maybe going for food together, you accompanying her on the last minutes of her rounds, she walking you home.
♡ ; But she wanted to go on a formal date, one she could presume to everyone, and so did you.
♡ ; So, the next couple of days you would ask her if she was ready for the date just to see her blush and get a little bit nervous.
♡ ; Who would've thought the captain of the military was so easy to fluster... Just by you, obviously.
♡ ; She said she wanted to take care of the date since she had an idea for it, you agreed.
♡ ; Finally friday came and by the dawn you were running around your room to get ready.
♡ ; Your best attire ironed and resting in a coat rack, your shoes cleaned and you were applying the lightest make-up before doing your hair.
♡ ; By the time Kuvira knocked on your door you were putting on your last bracelet.
♡ ;‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I'LL TAKE IT, NO ONE MOVES.” you screamed to your family while running downstairs, a second before opening the door you checked yourself quickly in the mirror at the entrance.
♡ ;‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You look gorgeous.” she said after you opened the door for her.
♡ ; Your face would changed colors again while the biggest smile showed on your lips without any permission. “You look gorgeous too.”
♡ ; The captain offered you her arm to take and so you did after telling everyone you'll be getting back late, probably.
♡ ; The metalbender would've avoid the questions about the location of the date you made, changing it to another question.
‍ ‍♡ ; ‍ ‍‍ “The moon looks beautiful tonight, doesn't it?” “Did you hear if the night was going to be cold? I didn't pay attention to the weather person.” “Did I tell you I saw a butterfly today while doing my rounds? It was a blue one.” and so on.
♡ ; She stopped at a table sitting in the outside, with the most beautiful landscape behind it, the moon shining with such bright that you stayed in silence looking at such gorgeous scene.
Tumblr media
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Do you like it?” she asked when she stopped hearing your voice, when turning to look at you her eyes could perceive the bright in yours.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “It's perfect.” a whisper came from your way before pulling her from the arm you've been holding the whole walk, both giggling.
Kuvira took one of the chairs, pulling it back and inviting you to sit. Smiling you took the seat, she walked to the other side and sat on her chair. With metalbending, the captain took off the metal cover from the plates revealing roasted duck, rice and deep-fried pickled radishes, you blinked surprised at the dish turning your eyes back to Kuvira, she was smiling without showing her teeth and a small blush on her cheekbones.
The dinner went smoothly, at the beginning both of you were so nervous that it felt like there weren't any topic left to talk about as if you didn't talk on the way there, but once you got comfortable again it was easy to take again the pace of the conversations.
At one point, your free hand reached for Kuvira's, her words got stuck in her mouth and twisted a bit in her tongue at the new feeling in her skin, but she embraced the gesture by intertwining your fingers with hers and continue to talk about the dance practice of that week.
The walking back when the dinner was over and both of you seemed tired enough was calm. Instead of your hand resting on her arm, both were tangled and you made them balance back and forth while smiling, satisfied with how the date went, totally planning on a second one.
The captain walked you back to your house, standing at the door both of you finished a conversation while you look lazily for your keys.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I had fun,” you said, facing her directly without letting go of her hand. “The food was so delicious.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I had fun too.” she repeated back at you, smiling a little bit. “Maybe we can do this again another day..”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Would love to.” against your will, you let go of her hand and unlocked your front door.
Kuvira whispered an almost quiet 'night' before turning around, but was shortly stopped by your hand around her wrist making her turn back around to you, she was about to question the action and was quickly cut off by your lips over hers.
It was a short kiss, a goodbye one, but it totally was such a sweet gesture that made her whole face turn red when you took a step back.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Goodnight, captain, see you tomorrow.” you said goodbye with a funny smile while getting in the house and walk up your bedroom.
You would never know this, but Kuvira stood in your entrance surprise, she didn't had the time to react properly to the kiss. Her right hand traveled to her lips, with a faint touch she felt them and a big smile formed in her mouth before turning around and go back to her place, feeling like she was walking on clouds.

Meelo from Legend of Korra. I hate that little fucker so much, he was fine before the time skip but then got so bad and was never called out on his shit behavior (yes I know he's a kid but like ... it's the same series that gave us Zuko so like, cmon)
I didn't like him either but that is probably because I don't like children lol. I think asami and the metalbenders were the most interesting in legend of Korra for me.
Rebecca from TWC. Lmao sorry but I just. UGH. Author favoritism used to excuse child neglect. Not into it.
Her and Nat/Nate are right up there for me. For Nat/Nate, I wouldn't say that I find them super annoying or anything like that. I don't really feel any particular way about them tbh, it's just them being the number 1 rebbeca stan kind of was a kind of annoying to read through at times. I'm just a petty bitch that doesn't like rebbeca lmao. As for Rebecca yeah for sure she's in my top 5 as well. Like she contributes nothing to the team. She just reads out stuff for the missions. She could have sent those via email, there was no reason for her to be as involved in the series, like why is she there? She doesn't really serve much purpose as far as the plot goes. And now that the mc is going to become an agent without much of a choice in book 4. The reader will have to see more of her. Listen I know it's not that seriously but Im a petty bitch, I honestly couldnt stand her at all. 😭😭 😭😂
I have a lot of sad tragic feelings and nostalgia for Legend of Korra 😔
And yeah, I did consider putting Nat/e on the list instead of Rebecca, but to me they have such a negligible presence in the game that shilling for Rebecca is like the most notable thing they do in my playthroughs, so if that's their defining characteristic in my mind, then it's still Rebecca who's the bigger evil.

Regarding the Solo Comics, (Katara and the Pirate's Silver, Toph Beifong's Metalbending Academy, and Suki Alone), do you think Avatar Studios are going to add any elements from these stories, such as introducing characters from it or just referencing the events. I know that Tim said there will be characters from the comics, but he was probably referring to the trilogies. Just wondering what are your thoughts on this?
The one-shots are pretty self contained, in that in the Katara comic, Jiang is really the only "could come back" candidate (Interestingly she is in Avatar Generations as a character you can get in the gacha stuff), though I don't know how you would reintroduce her naturally and have it work or if there would be much of a reaction to her.
In the Toph comic obviously Sun is notable because of him being a Lavabender and the implication that Toph may know a decent bit about Lavabending through training him. But it feels like this is more a thing to explore in another comic than directly in the movies.
In Suki I don't think we will see any of the in prison characters, but Mingxia I could see popping up again. Hopefully they utilize Suki well in the movie and bring up some of the good character work done with her in this book.
I do ultimately feel that the characters we will see from the comics will more be from the trilogies, because they are things that simply cannot be ignored while there are only edge case scenarios where some of those one-shot characters would need to show up in a situation.
So stuff like
-Ursa being back -Kiyi (Probably the most obvious one, Zuko has another sister, that is big for non comic readers) -Noren -Malina (Assuming we see the South and Hakoda it makes sense for her to be there too) -Ho Tun, Penga and The Dark One seem like good candidates, since you will probably have to at least reference the Academy as something Toph is still directly involved in or has handed over to those 3. -I could see someone like maybe Kori showing up for a little bit. -Plus others depending on where you go and what characters are in play.
Now perhaps Azula in the Spirit Temple will mark a shift in the one-shots to being a bit more plot focused. If that is the case I can see them having more references to this stuff.

Preview of The Chief’s Girl: Part Two (Burnout)
“We have to make a pit stop before we can go in,” I announce. “Now would you please buckle your seatbelt?”
It’s not a request. I reach one hand over and do it for her, fighting her squirming. Such a child sometimes.
No.
That’s exactly what the reporters think I view her as. She’s a woman, Beifong. Don’t go slipping up, even as a back of your mind joke.
“I want to see Kid,” Y/N protests, crossing her arms over the finally buckled seatbelt. “It’s been a month. What if he thinks I’m dead still?”
“You’re not pushing past a gaggle of reporters in your hospital gown.” I flick my eyes to the side and flash her a half mustered smirk. “That ass is for my eyes only.”
