Scrapbooking

Ft. Xiao, Kazuha, Itto, Cyno, Wanderer, Alhaitham, Albedo, Tighnari x gn!reader

Warnings: Slightly OOC, a few grammar mistakes.

Xiao:

You first suggested the idea of keeping a scrapbook with him when confronted with the problem of your own mortality and the inevitability of fate that most of everyone had to learn to accept. Yet it wasn’t your own end that you were worried for, but rather how Xiao would handle it. Making an album of sorts like this was your way of memorializing all the moments you had together so that the two of you would be able to look back on them in future times.

He probably doesn’t like getting his own pictures taken, and would much rather turn the camera’s lens towards you, so if you either have to compensate by taking selfies with both of you instead, or play a few tricks and catching him by surprise.

Spending time with him doing activities more relaxing like cutting out little paper stars to decorate the pages would definitely be a new experience for Xiao. One time he tried to draw the two of you together but it turned out a little bit questionable ??? (you still pasted it in the book, though).

When the qingxins begin to bloom, he would pick a few to press and dry for the book because the heart shaped leaves remind him of you. There would definitely be a few other kinds of flowers though, and when you asked why, Xiao would probably explain that they were the other yakshas’ favorites.

You found out that when Xiao thinks you’re not looking, he’d steal a few photos of you that you prepared to be pasted into the book for himself, so you always have to bring a few more pictures just in case.

Treasures the book and protects it with his life like it’s your child LMAO he may find it hard to admit, but really does care about the book especially since you put so much effort into it.

Kazuha:

Kazuha doesn’t mind doing something as domestic as making a scrapbook with you, and would probably suggest it first.

He definitely has a couple pages just full of leaves that he thought looked nice on his walks out.

Other times, you’d find new pages full of scraps of paper that Kazuha scribbled haikus down on, and they all share one thing in common: the subject is you.

Kazuha might begin collecting little rolls of decorative tape too, buying them from crafts stores back at inazuma. I imagine they’d have his signature leaf motifs and also the traditional inazuman ones on them. He’d probably find any excuse he has to use those tape rolls because of how colorful they are… like imagine little tanuki or foxes running across every page.

Contrary to some other people, Kazuha would have no problems taking photos with you, and would take a liking to bringing the camera along in all your travels. He’s very connected and in touch with the world around him, so being able to capture any moment he wishes is an appealing thought. Because of this, your scrapbook is going to be filled with photos of not just the two of you, but also stray cats on the streets, scenic views upon the Crux, firework shows in Inazuma….and the list goes on.

But of course, his favorite part of all of this is spending time decorating the pages with you! His favorite colors to use would of course be the colors of the leaves (they’re practically his brand at this point). If you happen to like those colors too, he’d be even giddier, gladly coloring in any blank spaces with colored pencils. Overall, Kazuha has a lot of time on his hands, but knows that his time is not eternal, so he treasures the book because it allows him to hold onto the past, reminding him when he forgets.

Itto:

Itto is definitely the type to go through all the trouble folding origami stars (especially with how clumsy he could be)…and then get sad when he realizes that they’re going to get crushed if he actually puts them in the book. So you also get him a little jar to put the stars in. Off-topic, but he probably also likes writing little wishes on the strips of paper before folding them into stars, so he gets really excited and thinks that the stars actually work whenever one of those wishes comes true. Who knows, maybe he’s right and there is a paper star god out there listening in on his wishes.

There would probably be a record of all the beetle duals that he has won and badly drawn images of his favorite beetles (like those posters in that one beetle event with Itto 💀).

And like his artwork, his handwriting probably isn’t the most outstanding, safe to say. Despite how enthusiastic Itto may be with the prospect of creating a scrapbook with you, there’s a slight learning curve when it comes to him. But in the end, it’s a good thing for him to try something new that doesn’t require so much energy to maintain.

Unexpectedly, the book fills up extremely quickly with all kinds of photos (even a few blurry ones because Itto didn’t want to throw any of them out). But that’s all because his simple presence is enough to make the passing of time feel special.

Now that you’ve made one with him, he’s probably eager to share the craft with the rest of the gang too. Whether they pick up on it or not is a different story, but Shinobu is probably the most glad to finally have a way for Itto to sit down quietly.

Cyno:

Cyno might use the scrapbook to also store some of his limited edition tcg cards since he treasures them so much. You thought it was your shared scrapbook, but NO. It was all for Cyno and his card games 💀. All jokes aside though, he would agree to make a scrapbook with you without much hassle. He doesn’t have much free time on his hands between being the General Mahamatra and spending much of his breaks on winning Genius Invocation games, but he’ll somehow always have time for his lover.

Enjoys taking pictures a lot. During hangouts with his friends, he especially likes to photograph his victories…much to the “annoyance” of his colleagues. Still, not all the photos are of Tighnari or Kaveh malding. There are images of group get-togethers at fancy restaurants, birthdays gone by, and festivals spent with smiles. In this way, it shows that despite Cyno’s tough exterior, he does care a lot for his friends.

He probably has a stamp with his name on it with something strange like “CYNO CERTIFIED” and enjoys imprinting it on random pages that he makes. Especially on pages with your photos on them LMAO.

Other than that, he treats the scrapbook more like a photo album. He probably isn’t as heavy on the more artistic approaches to this kind of project, all that matters is that it serves its original purpose of containing your memories together.

Was eating and got tomato or whatever on a page. It's a treasured and framed piece of artwork now.

Alhaitham:

Alhaitham has probably already tried something like this before. Being that he is the scribe of the Academiya, recording the important moments in his life would only come as natural with the nature of his profession as well. However, he treats the whole thing as more of a duty and job that he must do rather than a simple past time.

He probably has an assortment of pens and inks, so you can expect all kinds of scriptures written down in the book. Alhaitham himself isn’t picky, and most were likely simple gifts from occasions such as his birthday, so he’s even alright with you keeping a few (he’s keeping the set you gave him though–no take backs).

Sometimes you might find him reading the book like it’s some advanced piece of literature. Don’t mind him he’s just lost in his thoughts analyzing every single page. If it makes him happy, so be it.

Takes a photo of the two of you and fashions a bookmark out of it. It's his uncontested favorite now, and specially reserved for the scrapbook.

Loves watching you decorate the book, and especially loves watching you treat his photos like they’re some ancient artifact. It makes him feel all special and pampered inside.

Once he’s done with the first book, he starts another, and then another, and another… It only makes sense to keep the series updated as time goes on, but sometimes you wonder if the grind is getting to him LKAJSF;SA

Albedo:

THE artist. This man’s illustrations are PEAK. He’s one for perfection, striving to capture the world not only digitally with a Kamera but also by hand. In fact, he prefers to do it this way because the process of creating something with his own hands is more memorable to him.

One time he got distracted in the middle of an illustration of Sumeru’s fungi that you asked him to draw and gave them faces??/ that looked strangely like the two of you??? To this day you have no idea what was going on in his mind when he suddenly changed the drawing from scientific to horrific /j but its a unique addition to the book so that’s that ig

But of course, that doesn’t mean Albedo’s photographs are any less beautiful.

The angles, scenes, framing, and even the filters that were applied were perfected. Sometimes you wonder what his profession would be if he wasn't currently under the Knights of Favonius.

Worries and applies a TON of varnish onto a few pages of the scrapbook. That way the art and photos would last longer.

Takes extremely good care of the book and makes extra caution when he realizes that it may be in danger of Klee (he has all his best work in there man).

Wouldn't tell you it, but he's super proud of having made the book with you, and loves looking over it in his free time as an energy booster LMAO.

Tighnari:

Just like Albedo, I feel that Tighnari would be pretty decent at this kind of activity. With the journaling that must come with his work as a forest ranger, his attention to detail is extremely keen. Not to mention the fact that drawing and taking pictures would be much more familiar to him as well.

Tighnari would definitely prefer glue sticks to liquid glue, the reason being that there may have once been a small accident resulting in a bottle of runny adhesive spilling all over his fluffy tail.

He might’ve screamed like a little kid and acted a little grumpier than usual for a whole week.

But with a lot of reassurance from you that all the “bad glue” had been sealed and locked up (“to never see the light of day ever again”), he was willing to try again.

Unlike Cyno who’s pretty barebones with his work, I think Tighnari would like to dress up the pages that he decorates a bit more. Not too much to the point that it’s overbearing, but a couple ribbons and stickers would do.

The stickers in question are all of little squirrels and birds. THEY'RE sO CUTE KJJDDJLKD

Makes the squirrels stare at the pictures of flowers he took because it's more "accurate that way". In the same manner, he also likes putting stickers of birds around you like you're a Disney princess of some sort.

there was a comment saying, “you are younger than her but you don’t call her sister you are a bit wild.” what exactly is shengyang’s ambition?

XZ: i think of shengyang’s ambition is that everyone is equal, it means being equal in any relationship, no one is higher or lower than anyone else, everyone is in a very fair and equal relationship and in getting along.

you have worked in the same profession as shengyang before, when you first walked into shengyang’s office, when sitting in front of the computer, was there a feeling of being transported through the time?

XZ: there is a feeling of having a time travel. those workstation, hand drawn stencils, pens which are i’m familiar with.

can you still use pr or ps skillfully now?

XZ: t’s really been long time, as for now, no, it’s bit degraded. anyway, the things that were filmed were okay…i can still use small ps images to cut and to cut small pieces, these are still possible and actually what i draw myself are all some pictures, all the drawing we saw in the drama that appeared actually they were all prepared in advance by art teachers.

Disability Showdown Full Bracket

Alright! No more mystery, we've got our list for the tournament!

For people new to this tournament, how this works is this: We narrowed our character list down from about 600 to 131 (it was gonna be 128 but we had three ties, so those have been reworked into three-character polls). The top 64 have been seeded into the bracket by number of nominations. The bottom 67 however, all got roughly the same amount of nominations, so those have been assigned places via random number generator, to remove any bias that I the poll runner may have about which characters I want to succeed

(I am so sorry if your obscure blorbo ends up against a super popular kid in round one, that's unfortunately the luck of the draw here, but I am keeping a record of characters that lose but whose fans fight the hardest for them, and we may do something with those kids later, so it's still worth campaigning for your faves!)

I will make an image for the bracket once we get past the first round or two, but right now I have no idea how to make a visual bracket containing 131 characters, upload it to tumblr, and still have it be at all useful

03—resignation

You look at Morax carefully. “A marriage built on lies…” The words fall from your mouth before you can stop them, and you glance at him, gauging his reaction. He returns your gaze with leashed curiosity, and you sigh, busying yourself with your dress. “I suppose I shall forgive you. Just this once.”

“How gracious,” he smiles. “Thank you.”

You shrug and turn to face the window. You watch as the bright green meadows slowly get overtaken by glistening rocks, and the carriage suddenly begins to jostle you more and more. It settles once you’re fully into Liyuean territory, and the ride suddenly becomes much smoother. There's truly no going back now, but you realise that there’s nothing that truly holds you back to your home. Your closest friend is with you and as you grew older, your parents seemed to hold you at a distance. If there are ties to be cut, years of indifference have already weakened them.

“So, what am I to call you?” You ask finally, once the reminders of your old home have finally dissipated and you begin to resign yourself to your new future.

“What would you like to call me?” Morax sits back in his seat, a slightly amused glint twinkling in his eyes betraying his stoic face.

“What am I expected to call you?” You amend, maintaining your level stare.

“Once again, I struggle to truly believe that this is the path you intend to take. I would much rather you were honest and true to yourself than acting in a manner that you believe would please me most.”

You blink, taken aback by his deduction of your character. “That is not my intention.”

“Then why do you ask such questions?”

“I simply do not wish to offend.” You reply coldly, focusing your glance out of the window. “If you regard that as submission, that is your prerogative. I daren’t tell you what to think.”

In your peripheral vision, you catch Morax’s eyes narrow slightly, but you do not address it or draw attention to it. You asked the question, but you already had made a decision. You would avoid any situation that required you to address him by name, which would be all, if not most.

The journey is mainly silent from that point on. You find it hard to reconcile your emotions with reason—you have no reason to hate the man who has saved your kingdom and your family from ruin, and you have no reason to purposefully smite him. But even yet, you still feel that he is undeserving of the gratitude he must expect from you. If he truly wanted to help your kingdom out of the kindness of his heart, he didn't need to uproot you to do it.

After a while, the driver announces that you are nearing the castle, and you do your utmost to not show that you’re nervous. It’s bad enough that he’s taking you from your family—the last thing you want is for him to see it’s affecting you.

“I presume you would like some time to familiarise yourself with the castle and its surroundings and I shall leave you to do that.” Morax says to you as the carriage slows to a stop. He watches as you climb out of the carriage and courteously bow to the driver and the maid who escorts you and Alanna to your chambers. Your posture is better than hundreds of Liyueans he's had the pleasure of meeting.

“Am I to assume that things didn’t go well?”

Morax sighs as he exits the carriage, regarding the prince carefully.

“It didn’t go horrendously.” He says.

"I think if you were to show her around, rather than a maid, it might make her less critical of you.”

“Thank you, Xiao, but I’ll have to decline. There were some absurdities on the journey here that I plan to assess.”

“Surely you aren’t prioritising work over the woman you are to marry,” Xiao says quietly. It was rare that he ever questioned the king. He had been very young when Morax had taken him under his wing, and even despite the absurdity of their whole arrangement, Xiao had begun to view him as a brother.

“I have no intention of marrying her as it stands. My concern is keeping her away from those affiliated with the abyss, or else her kingdom loses their future queen, and we lose our most valuable trade partner.”

“I have never understood you,” Xiao says, as they walk toward Morax’s office. "Why claim to, then?" There’s no response, so Xiao assumes that Morax didn't hear him, or he simply doesn’t care.

Your room is pretty—nicer than the one you had at home. Perhaps if you sat quietly and did what you were told you’d find yourself in enough favour with the king to help them out. Or maybe they didn’t even deserve that. You’re not sure whether you should help the parents who sold you to the highest bidder.

The dark wooden frames of the expansive bed and the furniture contrast nicely with the red and golden fabric and decorations, and the seat of your desk is so soft that the minute you sit on it, you’re convinced you could sleep on it.

“Is there a room ready for you, Alanna?” You ask.

Alanna sweeps her pale golden hair out of her face. She’s been uncharacteristically quiet and you wonder whether it’s due to the fact she’d never left your home kingdom before.

“No, not yet.” She says quietly. “But that’s alright. Do not worry about me.” You stare at her in disbelief but do not protest yet. It’s too early in the day to convince her otherwise.

You begin to regret not bringing any clothing with you. At the time, it had seemed logical, at least so Alanna could carry more, but now you find yourself without comfortable clothes to sleep in and shoes that don't announce your presence to the whole palace.

“Your Highness, I do hope you won’t take this as a betrayal, but your parents asked me to take this letter for you.” Alanna hands you a simple envelope. There’s no seal—of course, your parents needed to save the seals for more extravagant occasions—and the paper is yellow and weathered. “I understand that your emotions towards them are complex, but—”

“Thank you,” you say quietly. You don't want to bother Alanna with how you feel about the letter or whether you intend to read it or not. “I appreciate it. Thank you for all you’ve done for me.”

“There’s no need to thank me,” Alanna smiles. “Just doing my duty.”

You sit down at your desk, looking through the endless sheets of paper and stationery in the drawers beside it. Perhaps now is a good time to take up calligraphy to pass the time.

If you were at home, you could have gone for a walk in the gardens, or maybe gone to speak to some of the kitchen staff and help them with some of the food prep. If you hadn't donated your books to the children in the city who needed them more than you did, you could have read them.

But the years of struggle had meant that you’d slowly forgotten how to have hobbies. And now, with no freedom to explore anything new yet, you’re at a serious loss as to what to do. Alanna has begun to busy herself with evaluating the bathroom, and you scribble halfheartedly at a sheet of thick writing paper.

A knock at the door drags you out of your dazed contemplation. There’s a considerable ink blot on the paper you were practising on, and Alanna has found herself face down on your bed, snoring softly.

You hear another knock, and you swipe invisible dirt off your dress before opening the door.

“Good evening,” You say, surprised to see none other than the king at your door. You had expected him to send someone to collect you if he had the intention to speak to you.

“Good evening, yn. I trust your afternoon has been pleasant?” Morax seems slightly more relaxed than when you left him earlier, his long hair is released from its braid, and his attire is somewhat less extravagant. It’s not simple enough to let you forget that he is the king of one of the wealthiest nations in Teyvat, but enough to let you know that he’s probably had enough of being king for the day.

“You could say that,” You reply.

“I must apologise for abandoning you today. There were a few work matters that required my attention. If you’re interested, I would be more than happy to show you around the palace tomorrow, but for now, would you accompany me to dinner?”

Build Up Episode 0: Getting to Know the Boys Part 4: Team Unique

Hey, friends! This is the fourth and final post in my “episode zero” series of my MNET’s Build Up recaps. I’m giving you some basic background info on each of the boys, including where you may have seen them before, the group they’re in normally if applicable, and my opinion/analysis of their teaser performance. In the previous post, I covered Team Power. This will wrap things up with Team Unique. Woot!

Kang Hayoon

Hayoon is 20, and before this, he went on LOUD and Kookmin Singer. He may have met Jung Soomin (the kid from Chicago) on the show Loud, and he may have met Kwon Euibin on Kookmin Singer.

He was V07, and his teaser song is One and Only by Adele. He has a genuinely unique singing style that doesn’t at all match the way he dresses and looks. It’s a very specific vocal color that might not appeal to everyone -- deliberately somewhat nasal, but in a controlled way. It sounds retro-modern, the way that a lot of Western artists sing these days. He’s obviously a genuine talent, but I can almost feel his throat closing up as he sings. He needs a bit of training to really use that amazing instrument he has. I hope he gets it, and that it doesn’t destroy his natural color.

Jeon Woong

Hair-stylist Unnies, what the fuck? Seriously.

Woong is 26 years old, and was V11, performing Bad by Christopher. He sings the song almost exactly the way the original performer does, even down to the little purposeful vocal kicks. I would have liked to hear a bit more of his interpretation of the song instead of karaoke version. He uses falsetto to hit some of the high notes, but that’s ok, they’re very high notes and he sounds good. I like his singing in an instinctive way, but I’m not sure how well trained he is.

Woong is in AB6IX, a four member group (used to be five) from Brandnew music. Like CIX, this is post-Wanna One group; Daehwi, a former member of Wanna One, is the center and face of AB6IX. Woong, meanwhile, is the main vocal. AB6IX started off doing pretty well, but one of their members, Youngmin, had a DUI arrest and had to leave the group in disgrace. It hurt the group pretty badly, and they haven’t really bounced back. Hopefully, going on this show will draw some good attention to the group, who I’ve always liked but thus far haven’t stanned. The song of theirs that I like best (of the ones I’ve heard -- there are lot of kpop songs, you guys, I don’t always keep up) is Close.

Sunyoul

Sunyoul is 27 and a member of Up10tion.

He has been on a few shows before this, including two reality shows devoted to trot, a uniquely Korean style of music, and a stint on King of Mask Singer in 2016 where he managed to convince everyone that he was a female trot singer. People were pretty surprised when they found out who he was! Seriously, check out his performance -- I don’t think I’d guess in a million years that this was a man.

For his teaser performance, he was V04, and did a song called Twenty Five Twenty One. He had some shaky moments, but showed his strong lower register and some serious vocal agility, moving from low to high notes almost effortlessly. I think he’s one to watch.

Let me talk briefly about Up10tion. They debuted as a 10 member group in 2015, and didn’t really catch the world on fire. Several members went on ProduceX101 and two members did well enough that they basically started solo careers afterward instead of really bringing the fame home to the group. (I’m not criticizing them -- that was mismanagement on the agency’s part, not their fault.) Three members have left the group, and two members went on Boys Planet (Hwanhee and Xiao). Several members have left the agency, including Hwanhee and Sunyoul, and the future of Up10tion is really dubious at this point.

Meanwhile, I’ve liked a few songs of Up10tion over the years, so it’s a bummer that they never really worked out. I think the first song of theirs that I liked was Blue Rose. Also, What if Love is great, especially the chorus, even if it sounds like they’re saying “ready for love” instead of “what if love”. In my opinion, a lot of Up10tion songs have weird intros and kind of mid verses and then awesome choruses held down by Hwanhee’s marquee vocals and Sunyoul’s sweet higher register. So if you listen to the first 30 seconds and you’re like “meh?” give the whole song a listen. Also, their song Spin Off was one of the best songs of 2021 and lives forever on my playlists. It’s one of those full-on kpop songs that isn’t really any genre, just sort of pop that makes you feel happy.

Wumuti

Wumuti is 24 and is from China, though he’s actually an ethnic Uyghur, a Turkic ethnic group that is an officially recognized ethnic minority in China. If you read my Boys Planet recaps, you know that I have a soft spot for him. He just wants this so bad. Plus, and I don’t want to bum you out too much, but the Uyghurs are facing some pretty serious problems, including forced sterilization and labor camps and it’s really really bad. So I can’t help but always cheer for Wumuti, you know?

He also seems like a really sweet, genuine, and hard working person. He seems pretty fluent in Korean and has been on all the Korean reality shows: Road to Star, The Dance & The Voice, Super Idol, Under Nineteen and Boys Planet. So this makes the third survival show in a row that Wumuti and Jay will be on together! (The other two were Under 19 and Boys Planet.)

Here’s one of my favorite Wumuti performances, gross lollipop aside. (He’s the one in the white hat.) Oh, now I miss Boys Planet!

Then there’s his cover of Antifragile, which he released shortly after getting kicked off Boys Planet.

Ok, as for his teaser song, he was V12, performing Seven by Jungkook. He sounds fine, though I wouldn’t say at all his voice belongs in Unique. I think I’d call it Allround -- I couldn’t promise that I’d know his voice just from hearing it the way I would with, say, Hwanhee or Jay. Also, the rapping is a little cringe, but TBH it’s cringe even in the original version of the song.

I think he was hoping to get people’s attention by singing a super popular song in English. His end game isn’t to make the top 4 of this show -- he wants to launch a solo career. I mean, that’s what I assume, anyway. I’m not sure if that will work out for him, but I hope it does.

Lee Gwangseok, aka, Lee Kwangseok

Gwangseok is kind of a question mark overall -- I know nothing about him, not even his age. We actually learn on the first episode that he has no training at all and works as a model (!). So he has never been on any other show and he’s definitely not in an existing group.

He’s V19 in the teaser song, showing off a unique, smokey, extremely thick kind of voice. I enjoy his performance, even though he’s singing a ballad, so that says a lot, though I know that some people may not personally like this distinctive style. I wouldn’t necessarily have guessed that he has no training. Maybe he just has good instincts, or maybe he had some light vocal training, like in high school chorus or something like that, because he can hit some fairly high notes in his chest voice. And some singers are charming without training -- Joni Mitchell comes to mind as someone like that. They sing the way they sing, and people can like it or not.

I’ll be really interested in see more of Gwangseok. I don’t know if he’s right for a vocal group based on harmonies, because his voice is so distinctive. However, he’s apparently quite handsome* and that combined with genuine vocal talent and his sort of self-effacing charm could give him a decent solo career.

*Those of you who regularly read my recaps know that I have no idea who is and who isn’t “handsome” or “pretty” in the kpop world. I often pick out the member who everyone thinks is the “ugly one” in a group and choose them as the one who’s best looking! So I have no idea. But the other guys on the show react in such a way as to indicate that he’s really handsome, and he works as a model, so I guess he’s handsome.

Hong Sungwon

He’s a musical actor, and that’s about all I know.

He was V21, doing Desperado by the Eagles. He sings it with a slight country twang, which is wild for a non-native speaker. (I assume he’s a non-native speaker? Maybe I’m wrong.) He has a rich, warm tone and impeccable pitch. I don’t love all his weird rhythmic choices in the song, but he’s trying to show that he’s fully singing live. It’s hard to critique a voice like this -- it’s just really good without necessarily really being all that unique. I like it a lot, don’t get me wrong. It’ll be nice to hear him sing more on this show.

Neon

He’s listed as a solo singer, but I can’t figure out much more about him. There’s another Korean singer in this world named Neon Bunny (check out her song It’s You, one of my all-time favorites -- she’s not a kpop singer, she’s an indie artist and the song is amazing) and another Kpop performer named Neon who is a band called About U, so it’s hard to find out info about this particular guy with the same/similar name. I do know that he’s 28 years old -- that’s about it!

He was V33, doing Rush Hour by Crush. He has clean, nice vocals -- not particular unique, despite his category. He’s just really nice to listen to. Good pitch, good breath control, good power, all the good stuff. In fact, I think I would have put him in the Power category. You can see him in his silhouette performance standing quite a distance from the microphone, still singing loud enough to be heard clearly. I’m looking forward to hearing more from him.

Kim Seohyung

Soehyung is a musical actor and has a similar singing style to Kim Seongjeong and Choi Haram. So it’s just not going to appeal to me, as much as I can respect his skill. His teaser song was V18, Me After You by Paul Kim. He did falter a little on one of the high notes, but I mean, it was just 90 seconds of singing one song, and mistakes happen. I think he belongs in the Power category, not the Unique category, but that’s just me.

A fan of his made this “Kim Seohyung cut” of episode 1 -- all 90 seconds that we got to see of him in episode one. MNET really doesn’t care much about Seohyung!

Lee Hwanhee

Hwanhee is from Up10tion, but you might recall him from Boys Planet as the guy who ended up on General Gunwook’s team for Kill this Love. (Performance) You might also remember that he had to withdraw from the show midway due to his health issues.

He is V38, performing Tomboy by G-Idle. He did the song justice, I thought, putting enough snap and sass into it. There were some backup prerecorded vocals that make it tough to tell how much he’s singing live. But I’ve heard enough of his vocals to know that he’s capable of some excellent singing.

I never got the sense that many of my 3-4 readers liked Hwanhee much, but I think he’s a really good vocalist. I like his distinctive, Baekhyun-esque vocal color, which adds nicely to Up10tion songs. However, he might be a tad outclassed by some of the other guys on this show, who have more training than he does. I think sometimes he wears out his voice and kind of runs out of steam while he sings.

I think I would have put him in the Power category, but maybe I don’t really understand what the categories are about.

Kwon Euibin

I can’t get over this official picture. Imagine being like, “Yes, this represents me. This is my brand. I’m going for that, like, pissed off substitute teacher vibe.” I mean. IDK.

He really likes beige sweaters over white shirts, I guess.

Ok, so Euibin is only 25 years old, and my scouting tells me he’s a trainee going for the idol life. He went on two other shows: The Idol Band: Boy's Battle and Kookmin Singer. On the latter show, he may have met Kang Hayoon, the one who sang the Adele song for his intro clip.

He was V35, another fecking ballad, but his voice was unexpectedly sweet and pretty compared to his serious countenance. He strained a little on some of the higher notes and the whole thing felt a little uneven, occasionally kind of shouty. It’s nice to listen to despite all that. I’m not quite sure what to make of him so far, so I’ll reserve judgment for now. But again, not sure he’s “unique.”

Taewoo

Taewoo is 26 and my sleuthing tells me he’s a songwriter who appeared on a few other shows I haven’t heard of, Sing Again 2 and Vocal Play 2.

He’s V28, Thought of You by John Park. I really like his voice. It’s slightly gravely, in a good way -- it has character. Finally, a unique singer who is actually unique. It’s hard to say how trained he is based on this clip but I know I want to hear more of him!

Xingyun and Xiaoven parallels (really cracked)

Ok so I've been thinking recently about my two absolute favourite ships (you don't have to agree with my opinion :D) and I've started to realise they have some (many) things in common.

In this post I'll be drawing similarities between the individuals of the ship (for example similarities between Venti and Xingqiu and similarities between Xiao and Chongyun as individuals. I will also be drawing similarities in the relationships (traits that show up in both Xingyun and Xiaoven)

1.Design (outfit+kit) parallels

These parallels are more fun observations than traits I'd genuinely argue

Kit

1.1 Someone who is TYPICALLY a dps x someone who is TYPICALLY a support

As for the most part Xiao and Chongyun's kits (cons, scaling, their lower ability to deal dmg off field) cater to their DPS output while Xingqiu and Venti's kits cater to their ability to support other characters (cons, scaling, their lower ability to deal dmg off field, their typical roles in teams)

1.2 Similar TYPICALLY RECOMMENDED artifacts 2.0 to 2.6 (pre Vermillion Hereafter)

This is definitely the weakest argument in this weird af section but I thought it'd be fun. After the release of Emblem of Severed fate, its 4pc became Xingqiu's BiS for his typical role. It's 4pc is also sometimes recommended for Chongyun. Xiao's recommended artifacts before 2.6 were 2pc viridescent and Venti's was 4pc viridescent.

1.3 Complimentive but not BiS kits

Though Chongyun and Xingqiu can work well together, their best teams aren't with each other. Same goes for Venti and Xiao.

Design

It's never clearly stated if Chongyun knows Xingqiu is Zhenyu and he keeps it a secret for the most part. It's also never clearly stated if Xiao fully linked the bard that saved him to Barbatos (though it is hinted he's kinda connected the dots)

3.2 Idk what to title this

Xingqiu and Venti have worked together before (idori festival) while. Chongyun and Xiao might work together in the future as Xiao has worked with exorcists in the past.

Hey rin, hope you're having a good day. I may or may not have come here to rant for a bit. Remember when I said earlier that things seem to be piping down and that I could afford a break? Yeah, scratch that. Not only did I have a suprise test in physics right after I said that, but apperantly I was also supposed to make cards for a couple more people than intended, so the cards that I have made so far are 20 with 7 of them being rushed at the last minute, because my classmates suck at basic communication and counting numbers apperantly.

Anyways, thank you for your time and reading this rant. I humbly offer you a cup of tea (with the amount of flowers I've had to draw on those cards might as well) and some biscuits to enjoy and please do give Zhongli a couple of head pats from me as a thank you for his little gifts. I would love to do it myself, but I am about to crash land on my beloved and I am unsure if I will be able to even lift my arm in the near future from the amount of drawing I've had to do.

WELCOME TO MY HYPERFIXATION HELL

*Please note that I am NOT a native english speaker, so I might or not make some grammar mistakes*

This is my first post but I'm already pinning it because I'll be claryfing some basic things about this blog, my plans and future projects.

So, the content of this blog will be mostly related to Miraculous, cause I am a HUGE fan of the characters and the concept of magical jewelry that grants powers based on a specific animal and its general meaning according to a belief. I also like the plot, but sometimes it has some flaws that doesn't make it the perfect show. Anyways, that happens, but honestly, I don't care that much because my focus is on the heroes' costumes and symbology 😁🤗🤪😋😚

And this is where i come in.

Specifically, the majority of my posts are going to be drawings and texts, where I will be redesigning and rewriting Miraculous' heroes' costumes, powers AND camouflaged versions of each one of the holders' jewels, following what I think would be more coherent with the characters and the whole issue of the Mother Box being the most powerful and including chinese notions, such as the Yin Yang, Wuxing and the 12 signs of the Sheng Xiao.

There will be posts explaining in detail the dynamics that I'll use to remake the costumes and powers.

I will not:

Redraw costumes of heroes who only appeared for one episode;

Redraw and design costumes of Miraculouses' unifications;

Redraw and design costumes of switched Miraculouses' costumes

Do a whole new alternative universe/story to my head-canons and preferences

Change the characters looks both as civilians and/or akumatized villains

Maybe dumping some ideas of these, but that's all (for now!!!)

My username is basically can be deciphered in two parts, Aki means autumn in Japanese and I named it so cuz I love the autumn season and more than that I love maple leaves 🍁. The second part is a nickname some of my frnds call me and I love that :))

I also absolutely LOVE ANIME and have watched more than like 250+ so hmu if y’all wanna talk bout any :)

Some of my fav anime’s are : Sword art Online , Fairytail , One piece , Kuroko no Baske , Horimiya , Kaguya sama love is war , Naruto , Disastrous life of Saiki K , My dress up darling , Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures , and many many many more that my indecisive ass cannot think of at the moment 🥹

FFXIVWrite 2023 Prompt #29 - Contravention

Betrayer and breaker of family, of friends, of station, of peace, of accords, of nations, of fate.

All these things and more.

Yotsuyu goe Brutus claimed them all.

She betrayed them all and broke with them for they betrayed and broke her first.

She was consumed by the fire within and without. Every staggered breath, every nerve ending, every mote of aether, every fiber of her being burned with the intensity of a thousand newly forged knives quenched by plunging into flesh. Her flesh, her soul.

If she must burn, and she saw no alternative, then she would burn everything else with her. If she must suffer, then all should suffer with her. If she were to be set on fire, then she would set aflame everything that she could touch.

It did nothing to balm her pain to exsanguinate her parents. It brought her no reprieve to reclaim her titles and her former self. It brought her no relief to end the peace talks, sham as they might have been, between Doma and Garlemald. Nothing helped. She burned. Her past was nothing but ash and soot, her present an inferno, and there was no future to consider.

So she danced, hot coals at her feet.

Let her rage, her sorrow, her pain, her regrets, her bitterness, her fear all blossom incandescently, gloriously.

What was this called? An eikon. A primal by Eorzean reckoning. Ah, to elevate her suffering to the heavens, to deify these emotions... Justice? Honor? Duty? What did these matter? Even Retribution was utterly meaningless at the end, but there was little else she could do, enkindled as she was.

She did not hope to be reborn as the phoenix, she only wished to add everything to her funeral pyre.

That she had to take on the guise of the Moon Goddess as opposed to something more aflame, well, she could make do. The light she already contained. The red she would draw from those that opposed her. A blood moon shining endlessly in an eternal night of desolation, everything charred black by the soot of her ever-burning pain.

Ah, there was but one that she was still faithful to, she supposed. Her enemy. The Warrior of Light stepped forth, crimson as the blood that would spill soon from her body. She showed proper piety by doffing her plumed hat and bowing her head.

"...I will do what I must, but I wish you could have found healing, Tsuyu."

Despicable. Did the Keepers of the Moon not revere the entity she now was one with? Why bring up an illusory persona, adopted in ignorance, pathetic and miserable, unable to face the cruelty of reality? Did she not see what faced her now in full glory?

At least her enemies were supposed to hurt her, but she was unaware that her enemies could hurt her in this way too. She had betrayed all, as all had betrayed her. And yet, the one that she thought she could rely on for deliverance, the one soul that she found punishingly reliable, her foe, her enemy, had found one way to betray her that she could have never imagined.

Pity? She would be given pity by her greatest of adversaries?

She did not want her pity.

She did not deserve her pity.

Yotsuyu did not wish to recall the story confided in her by the Warrior of Light when she was still Tsuyu. Of how Xiao found herself cognizant of the cruelty of her own assumed fate and the role thrusted upon her, of how she managed to escape it all through both miraculous luck and hard work. Of how she hoped to help Tsuyu do the same, to be liberated from the chains of her past and pick up a new future of her choosing.

How could such a vile creature exist, to wish happiness and a better future for someone who wanted nothing more than to see her crushed under her heel? She and Gosetsu were cut of the same despicable cloth. What a mockery of kindness, of faith, of happiness. So willing to forgive and forget and deny the unforgivable, the unforgettable, the undeniable. What could the Warrior of Light see in her? What could the Warrior of Light know of her pain?

Why was she doused with regret? Was this "Tsuyu" risen from the depths, hoping so stupidly for salvation? No. There was no salvation for the likes of her. The Witch of Doma was never to be offered any hope of reconciliation. She was not alleviated of her anguish because there was no alleviation to be had. This was always to be her fate.

Ah, but what was another flame added to a conflagration? It all burned the same. It would all end the same. Her transcendent agony would consume all or see her consumed. She engulfed those feelings of Tsuyu until they burned away. It didn't matter what the Warrior of Light thought or hoped or wished. She would cross blades all the same. This was the only fate ever offered, ever delivered, ever deserved.

Thus concluded the peace negotiations between Doma and Garlemald.

- Xiao Xiao is not the kind of person to just seduce you. If it were ever a plan for him, it would take him weeks to carry out because he isn’t the kind of person to outwardly show intense emotions such as “sexual desire and all that nonsense” as he would put it. However, Xiao has a libido just like almost everyone else, which means if he wants something from you, he will get it. Xiao will seemingly become more touchy, in the sense that he will put his hand on your waist and initiate hand holding more often (give him some time to get used to most things, despite being 2000+ years old he doesn’t have a lot of experience in this department.) Once he decides to get more bold he will start drawing you in for more kisses, deeper ones, kisses that are almost primal as his body seems to envelop you whole as he pushes you against the wall. He’ll put his knee in between your legs as he trails sloppy kisses down your neck and to your collar bones, leaving a mess of bite marks and hickies in his wake. His hands will get adventurous. Down to your hips, fingertips ghosting your thighs, and back up as they find their way into your shirt. He’ll smirk and turn to look at you, “Like what you see?” He’ll say in his usual smooth voice as he walks calmly toward you. Whether you move backwards or you stay put, he’ll be up in your face with teasing eyes and fingers under your chin. He’ll place a featherlight kiss on your lips as his other hand finds its way down to the curve of your ass, squeezing ever so lightly. He’ll chuckle at the small gasp you give him, “Care to be my little test subject for a bit?”

Genshin Boys With A Dense Crush (Part 2)

Here is part 2~ so, the reason why I didn't include Bennett and Razor is the fact that I can never write for them, like IDK why but its just very hard for me. So yeah, sorry about that. Part 1 (Albedo, Childe and Diluc)

It was painfully obvious that Chongyun likes you but for some reason, he can’t quite figure that out for himself

But everyone around them knows

Xingqiu is actually on the road to writing a book about the two of you

Xiangling, Xinyan, Hu Tao, and Yan Fei are betting on how long until Chongyun realizes his feelings

Chongyun doesn’t know why he likes to see you every day, wants to have meals with you, and why he gets uncomfortable when he sees you with another person and smiling at them

Maybe it was the work of g-

“Oh I like them” -Chongyun one day when he woke up

He consulted his best friend Xingqiu about this and Xingqiu just placed his books down and said “dear archons finally, it was getting very painful to watch”

So the two started planning a cute little confession scenario

Somewhere Xinyan and Yan Fei are crying because they lost the best but Yan Fei is arguing that betting was illegal and has no ground in the law… Yan Fei, you betted with your conscience please stop

Anyway!

The pair of best friends decided to go with a simple type of confession because less is more in Xingqiu’s books

It was going so well, a cute dinner and all of that

“I like you Y/N, can we be more than that?”

Oh is that Xingqiu, Xiangling, Xinyan, Hu Tao, and Yan Fei spying on both of you from the bushes? Why, yes indeed.

“You want to be best friends Chongyun? But don’t you have Xingqiu as your best friend already?” - you with your ever so innocent voice and expression

Chongyun is frozen in place

Xingqiu, Xiangling, Xinyan, Hu Tao and Yan Fei are betting again this time how many times will Chongyun get a friendzone

“HOW WILL I GET MY FEELINGS ACROSS THOUGH!”

“Just confess, normally… like… a normal person” - Diluc

Kaeya decided that in two days time he was going to confess to you, two days because he needed to make sure it was perfect

But the moment he saw you laughing with some random guy all the planning was thrown out the window

“Meet me in front of the church when the sun rises” - Kaeya to you when he passes by you at the corridor of the headquarters

When you arrived, he made you stand at the flight of stairs in front of the church while he went down

He kneeled with his right knee touching the ground and he pulled a very neatly folded white sheet from his pocket

He unraveled it and wrote, “WILL YOU MARRY ME Y/N?”

But even before you can react a thunderous shouting can be heard and a chuckle

Diluc wants to kick him out but Venti is Monstad’s archon so he decided against it

Venti hears your voice and because his drunk his happy instead of upset

When Xiao first had these feelings he was confused

He lived a long life and this was the first time in his life where when he sees someone his chest becomes constricted and warm

“Xiao! Do you like traveler!?” - you excitedly

Xiao felt a tightening in his chest not that good type but am i being stab right now type of tightening

His answer would usually be along the lines of no and he can’t have relationships with mortals

He usually has a lot more patience with you compared to others but hearing you say that he looks good with someone else just made something in him snap

He didn’t mean to shout at you nor did he mean it when he said you should leave him alone

That’s why he's waiting for you at Wangshun Inn, his loneliness grew into worry when after 2 days you weren’t back yet

Upon eavesdropping around he also found out that no one has seen you and your last known location was Mt. Hulao and he immediately began to worry because that place was prohibited to humans

“Are you looking for someone?” - Mountain Sharper appeared behind Xiao as he reached the top of Mt. Hulao. “Are you looking for a mortal perhaps?”

“How did-”

“-That mortal is pretty noisy, they don’t stop talking and they know you.”

Oh, the warm feeling in his chest is back because they were talking about him which means that they weren’t angry at him!

“Where are they!?” Xiao would realize and I swear to you his ready to break every amber rock around Mt.Hulao

“Calm down, they are currently collecting Qingxin flowers”

Right on cue, “XIAO!? IS THAT YOU!?” he heard your voice from behind him, when he saw you, he immediately rushes to you and hugs you

“What are you doing here!?” Xiao would ask, his voice was raised only because of relief

“Oh, I got lost! And Moon Sharper here saw me, we ended up chatting and I guess I forgot the time, he shared so many stories about y- WHY DO YOU LOOK LIKE THAT ARE YOU HURT!?”

Moon Sharper is just looking at this scene and he knows he's about to spill the hottest tea next time the adeptus (idk plural form okay) have a dinner party

At first glance, it might look like that he isn’t affected at all

As an author he wants to experience romance first hand, so he tries to be romantic about it but this was frustrating

He decided to pull his last technique from his sleeves

He lent you a very romantic book and between one of the pages he inserted a paper that read “I wish for you to be my muse.”

If that doesn’t work Xingqiu is going to ask you to fight him

Zhongli

Zhongli, Rex Lapis aka Morax has lived thousands of years

Yet this is the first time he encountered someone so dense at first he taught you were just kidding and pretending but when he described what he likes in someone which was pertaining to you

You simply said “WOW THEY SOUND WONDERFUL AND YOU MUST REALLY LIKE THEM BECAUSE YOU SOUND SO IN LOVE” at his face with genuine awe, there was no sign of you being flustered and whatnot

Hu Tao was there to witness this and the younger female had a good laugh when she witnessed this

Zhongli is now praying to Guizhong for help and patience
