Cursed things I enjoy telling friends:
In the comics, Organic Webshooter Spider-Man is a destructive copy and the original Peter Parker turned into a giant spider and died to patch in that ability.
A dead witch possessed Bowser resulting in something not quite Koopa and not quite Witch.
Radiation's Halloween Hack (Earthbound) is where Megalovania is from.
Hojo is Sephiroth's biological father but Sephiroth didn't know who his father was. (OG PS1) Hojo canonically fucks, unfortunately.
Mr Mime's hair is flesh.
Goofy canonically fucks in multiple different canons.
And to mess with friends who take LotR too seriously yet only watch the films and claim the books are too long: the whole existence ofTom Bombadil, elves have spaceships, werewolves and vampires exist, Elrond's bio parents became a bird and a star, and not only did Sauron once lose a fight to a dog but he also struggled in an operatic rap battle.

Thwomps, Chomps and Bob-ombs, my theories on the artificial beings of Mario
Thwomps, Whomps, Bomps... The Mario universe has its fair share of sapient rock creatures. It has also many other artificial/metal creatures like Chain Chomps and Bob-ombs. I've often contemplated the nature of those mysterious beings, so here are my attempts at understanding them. This is a long one, so bear with me.
Tumblr media
Now, before we start, I have a couple disclaimers to get out of the way that would help in understanding my ramblings:
1. There are a lot of speculative links between different "species": Many of the points I will bring up are only directly tied to one "type" of artificial being, e. g.: Bob-ombs having a spirit; seemingly lifeless Thwomps abandoned and overgrown, etc. I speculate that those characteristics can generally be applied to other types of artificial beings, e.g.: Bob-ombs having spirits means that Chain Chomps also have spirits, etc.
2. Possessed doesn't mean what you think it means: Simply put, I'll be using the word "possessed" or similar concepts to describe the way these spirits inhabit their artificial bodies. By that I don't mean possessor-type ghosts who jump in and out of furniture to create chaos. Imagine it as your own soul possessing your own body, the two being intrinsically connected since birth and mostly all the way up to death.
With that out of the way, let's start with their birth.
Thwomp birth: Thwomp Volcano
In Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, one of the locations visited is the Thwomp Volcano, a mountain literally built out of unchiseled Thwomps of various sizes. We see those same unchiseled Thwomps being shot out of the volcano during its annual eruption.
“Own up! I mean, look at you! You're obviously all plumbers! Thanks to your meddling, my hubby's in a stone funk! Jumping into that volcano was his hobby, you terrible men! We've been waiting for the annual eruption all year!”
- Mrs. Thwomp, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Tumblr media
We also see a young professor E. Gadd studying the nature of the Thwomps and the mountain itself. That might not make much sense at first, given E. Gadd specializes in ghosts, but remember that Thwomps were literally described as ghosts in the English manual of Super Mario World.
A better translation of the Japanese manual (石のお化け “ishi no obake”) would be “stone spirits” or “stone demons”. I don’t mean to suggest they are literally undead people but more like a type of nature spirit in the world. E. Gadd is even described as an “obake researcher” (オバケけんきゅうか)  in the original japanese version of Luigi’s Mansion.
“The name's Elvin Gadd. I'm studying the Thwomps and history of this here mountain. How'd all these stony fellers get here and why're they so darn angry about everything?”
- Young Professor E. Gadd, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
“Thwomp A nasty stone ghost that guards the castles and fortresses for the Koopas. If Mario comes close, Thwomp will try to crush him. The trouble is, if you don’t pass it, you can’t go on.”
- Super Mario World instruction booklet, page 25
I speculate that Thwomps are formed inside the volcano, where their spirits are born and gain a stone body from the cooled magma. I also believe that other similar species like Thwimps, Whomps, Walleyes, etc. are either born from the same volcano or from similar locations.
Chompworks Galaxy and the Bob-omb Factories
Although they might not initially look all that similar, Chain Chomps and Thwomps could have a lot in common, starting with their creation.
The Chompworks Galaxy is a location seen in Super Mario Galaxy 2, where Gearmos work to maintain a production line of Chain Chomps. The large bodies of lava present here might suggest that the creation of Chomps is tied to a foundry-like process, much like how the Thwomp Volcano would work in a similar manner, using molten rock instead of molten metal.
On a side note, Bob-ombs have also been shown to be factory-built, as we see in minigames such as Sort or ‘Splode from Super Mario 64 DS/New Super Mario Bros. or the Bob-omb Factory board in Mario Party 9.
Tumblr media
Chomp Rocks and Stone Chomps
Another connection that can be made between Thwomps and Chomps comes not from the classic Chain Chomps, but rather a variant of them, the Stone Chomps. These stone variants are only found in Paper Mario, inside the buried temple of Dry Dry Ruins.
Given that the ruins themselves are very ancient and that the regular Chain Chomps in Tutankoopa's battle were brought by him, it stands to reason that these Stone Chomps are equally ancient and inhabitants of this tomb, unlike the Chain Chomps used by Tutankoopa, who was assigned by Bowser to guard the Star Spirit.
Tumblr media
“This is a Stone Chomp, who guards the treasure in this room. He's made of stone. Duh!” “His jaws can supposedly crush a Coconut. I don't know about you, but I don't want to become a snack.”
- Goombario Tattle, Paper Mario.
Besides Stone Chomps, another hint at the true nature of Chain Chomps can be seen with the Chomp Rocks that are prevalent in the Yoshi series. These large round statues, placed across the island, might’ve once been living Stone Chomps (more on that topic in a moment). It would explain why they are so haphazardly placed, generally out in the wild.
Tumblr media
My hypothesis on the nature of Chomps is that, like the Thwomps, Chomps were once naturally made out of stone. At some point in time, Chomps started being artificially built out of metal, with Chompworks being one such factory. These newer “models” were then named Chain Chomps.
Bobby, Chomp Shells and Thwomp Ruins
In Paper Mario: The Origami King, The Bob-omb Bobby shows us that they too have souls and can become ghosts, just like how Thwomps are “ghosts” (i.e. stone spirits). This means Chain Chomps likely have similar spirits too. Interestingly, while that shows us their spirit can linger on after their body is destroyed, there are cases where the opposite seems to happen.
The aforementioned Chomp Rocks might be empty husks of Stone Chomps, who have somehow left their bodies in the distant past. The same seems to be true for the Chomp Shell weapon from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (called ワンワンのぬけがら, Chomp Husks, in Japanese) as well as the motionless and cracked Thwomp husks found in places such as Thwomp Ruins from Mario Kart 8, Thwomp Desert from Mario Kart Wii and maybe even the Beanbean Kingdom in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
Tumblr media
Maybe this is as close to a natural death as these beings can get, or maybe they are able to separate from their physical bodies without the latter’s destruction. Personally I doubt the latter.
The Mario Party 2 board Horror Land features Whomps that become immobile stone statues during the night. Perhaps a similar effect is at play here.
Tumblr media
Final Thoughts
Connecting all those dots, my theory is that Thwomps, Chain Chomps and Bob-ombs (and related species) all have/are spirits of some type. Thwomps and Stone Chomps are natural stone spirits, with Chain Chomps having come from Stone Chomps after they started being manufactured. It is unclear if Bob-ombs (and others like Bullet Bills) were once naturally occurring spirits like Chain Chomps or are fully artificially-made spirits.
When a Thwomp's, Chain Chomp's or a Bob-omb's body is destroyed, their spirit likely dies with it. But as shown with Bobby, there is a possibility that some of them linger on as ghosts. Perhaps the other ones return to their place of origin and receive new bodies. As I speculated in a tweet here.
It also seems like they might also "die" in some other way, leaving empty shells behind. Whether that is their way of dying from old age or possibly willingly is unclear.
Thank you for reading through the entire post! I'd like to thank @seandwalsh for helping put it all together. Make sure to check out the Marioverse Discord server and the Subreddit for more theories and discussions on Mario lore!

Yes, Paper Mario is canon
This has been something the Mario lore community has largely accepted since 2015, but it seems a lot of newer folk aren’t quite so filled in! I’m writing this post to be a quick way to catch people up on the subject. This post is also adapted from a Reddit post, which can be read here. Same experience either way, more or less!
Part 1: For Context
The Paper Mario games tell stories of Mario’s adventures through an arts and crafts or pop-up book aesthetic. This is because from the very beginning, the Paper Mario games were meant to be set in a book that retold Mario’s adventures, but were accurate depictions of the mainline Mario universe.
Since our first priority was to protect the atmosphere and setting of the Mario universe, we decided to only use characters from the mainline Mario games. The side characters from Super Mario RPG therefore do not appear. I think that with Mario, sticking to the “main road” is the best. Plus, it would feel weird to have heavy themes like “betrayal” in the overall cozy, heartwarming atmosphere of the Mario world. (laughs)
- Ryota Kawade, Chief Director of Paper Mario (Nintendo 64)
We spent close to a year and a half trying out different character ideas. We also tried using pre-renders like SMRPG, but we figured it would be more fun for us to attempt something completely different this time, and that paper-y Mario was the result.
- Hiroyasu Sasano, Support on Paper Mario (Nintendo 64)
Herringway said he definitely wants to write your story. He even came up with a title... What was it again? Let's see... Well... "Paper Mario"!! What do you think!!??
- A Penguin, Non-player character in Paper Mario (Nintendo 64)
A real Mario Story told through the perspective of a storybook. Not at all dissimilar from what Dr. Mario 64, Mario Party 6, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker all do.
This carries through to later games such as Paper Mario: Color Splash as well:
…I think one thing is that because this is taking place within the greater Mario world, we wanted to focus as much as possible on the familiar Mario characters.
- Risa Tabata, Assistant Producer of Paper Mario: Color Splash
This establishes the Paper Mario games as canonical events which also happen in the world of mainline Mario games, but despite this the developers were not afraid to have some fun with the aesthetic they were working with.
Although not the main focus, many paper-based gags were present in the world from the start.
Actually, the very first challenge Mr. Kawade and others had to face was how to cowince Mr. Miyamoto. For example, we had to explain how we'd utilise the idea of things being flimsy like paper to a large degree in the final game. The utilisation of paper-like elements was more of an 'improvemert' for him than an 'innovation' since the original idea was there with the N64 version.
- Kenshiro Ueda, Coordinator on Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Paper Mario:
- Characters are flat like paper and when they turn around their body turns like a sheet.
- In the intro sequence of the game, Kammy Koopa is taped into the story being told about the Star Spirits.
- The Star Spirits get turned into cards by Bowser and Kammy Koopa.
- When the veranda in Goomba Village falls and Mario fallls after it, he floats down safely like a piece of paper.
- When Mario rests in a bed, he similarly floats into it like a piece of paper.
- A Goomba masquerades as a picture on a signpost on Goomba Road.
- The clouds in the background of Goomba Road battles are held up with sticks.
- Mario enters and exits a pipe by folding like paper and spinning around its edges], which a Toad in Toad Town even calls attention to.
- Some Goombas lie down flat on top of blocks to hide from passers-by.
- Merlee folds Mario into cards when she casts her spell.
- Stilt Guys fall down as pieces of paper when entering General Guy’s Battle.
- A Star Kid in Starborn Valley “hides” by turning sideways.
- The stairs in the Crystal Palace unfold from the wall.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door:
- Characters are flat like paper and when they turn around their body turns like a sheet.
- The fallen heroes of 1000 years ago place Curses on Mario, allowing him to turn flat, fold himself and transform into origami, such as a Paper Plane or Paper Boat.
- Boats turn around by rising out of the water before flipping around like a piece of paper.
- Mario enters and exits a pipe by folding like paper and spinning around its edges.
- The transition screen for entering an exiting a pipe crumples the screen like a page.
- When people in Rogueport are knocked down, they fall completely flat, parallel to the floor.
- When Mario enters a building, its walls and door unfold to reveal the interior.
Super Paper Mario:
- Characters are flat like paper and when they turn around their body turns like a sheet.
- The magical ability to “flip between dimensions”, going between 2-D and 3-D.
- Areas are “drawn” into existence when the characters first enter them.
- The Pixl Slim has the ability to turn the heroes “invisible”, represented by turning them sideways.
- Spiny Tromps are made out of cardboard.
- Sometimes a piece of paper will peel away to reveal a secret, such as a hidden chest.
- When turning into her spider-like form, Mini’s head unfolds like a piece of paper.
- At one point, Mimi says “I guess I'll congratulate you... by tearing you to little bits like stupid confetti!”
- Mario enters and exits a pipe by separating into and reforming from smaller pieces of paper, respectively.
- The transition screen for entering an exiting a pipe crumples the screen like a page.
- When Brobot enters battle, the screen is torn like a sheet of paper to transition from one scene to the next.
- One if the Sammer Guys, “Rolling Thwomp”, says “I ROLL OVER YOU AND MAKE YOU FLAT LIKE SHEET OF PAPER!”
- When Luigi performs his Super jump move, he folds himself like a piece of paper to charge before springing into the air.
- The audience that appears for Stylish Moves have jagged paper outlines surrounding their bodies.
Paper Mario: Sticker Star
- Characters are flat like paper and when they turn around their body turns like a sheet.
- Kersti’s magical “Paperize” ability makes the world “become as flat as a piece of paper”.
- Certain enemies such as Goombas use magic, likely provided by Bowser, to fold themselves into dangerous shapes.
- A stack of Toads act like a flight of stairs for Mario Warm Fuzzy Plains.
- Decalburg gets partially folded by Bowser’s magic.
- The Soggy status effect appears to temporarily affect Mario as water would a piece of paper.
Paper Mario: Color Splash
- Characters are flat like paper and when they turn around their body turns like a sheet.
- Huey’s magical Cutout ability “transcends dimensions” and cuts parts of the world like paper.
- Huey’s squeeze ability turns objects into paper.
- Magic Paint plays a major role, with it being sucked out of the denizens of Prism Island and used by Mario to restore the island to its former state.
- A Toad is turned into a letter by Bowser’s forces and mailed to the Mushroom Kingdom.
Paper Mario: the Origami King
- Characters are flat like paper and when they turn around their body turns like a sheet.
- The Origami Craftsman uses the magical Fold of Life technique to bring his Origami Creations to life.
- King Olly uses the magical Fold of Life technique to transform Bowser’s Army, Princess Peach and the Vellumentals into Folded Soldiers while turning the Toads into various Origami creatures.
- King Olly uses magic to bring the Origami Craftsman’s tools to life and make them giant, creating the Legion of Stationary.
- Mario and Olivia use Magic Circles to transform themselves using Origami Techniques, such as the 1,000-Fold Arms.
- The Toads and Mario in the Temple of Shrooms have holes punched in them by the Hole Punch and Bowser’s Minions are cut up by the Scissors guarding the castle. All of these magical effects are undone upon the bosses’ defeats.
With all that taken into account, it’s clear that this is genuinely a Paper World. However, since we also know that these events are supposed to take place in the real world, the only possibility is that the Paper Mario games depict events, locations and characters that exist in both the real world and the Paper World. We see these events from the perspective of the Paper World, but everything still happens in the real world without the paper aesthetics.
The opposite also applies, with all of the adventures the real Mario has been on occurring in the Paper World, with the paper aesthetics.
Part 2: How it Developed
In Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, the lore of the Paper Mario world is greatly expanded upon. We learn that it’s a “parallel world” located within a legendary magical book. For the first (and as of writing this, only) time, we see the Mario cast interact with their Paper counterparts. This has lead some people to believe that the Paper Mario games didn’t occur in the real world, with Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam retconning what had already been established, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
In fact, in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam the opposite is implied. The game constantly calls attention to how the two worlds are exactly parallel through character dialogue. Some examples of this are Kamek and Paper Kamek coming up with the same plan to betray each other at the exact same moment and have the same proceeding conversation with their respective Bowsers, or when Peach and Paper Peach talk about themselves on Mount Brrr, realising how their lives and personalities are the same and even coming to the conclusion that they are the same person.
This was wholly intentional on the developers’ parts, with the core of the game being focused on showing inner depth to these personalities through interactions with their doubles:
Mario and Paper Mario, Princess Peach and Paper Princess Peach…It was fun to create interactions between different versions of the same character who come from different worlds like these examples. For this game, we created themes for each of the interactions between the main characters. We emphasized the characters’ personalities for each of the character interactions, such as Mario being curious about Paper Mario’s special abilities and trying to see if he can use them himself (even though both Mario and Paper Mario are the heroes of their respective worlds), the two Princess Peaches talking about girl stuff, the Bowser Jrs. getting along immediately like old friends, etc.
- Shunsuke Kobayashi, Director of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam
Plenty of other games set in the real world have also referenced the events of Paper Mario games, further proving they occurred in the real world:
- Goomboss, who was created by Bowser using the Star Rod in Paper Mario, goes on to appear in Super Mario 64 DS and Mario Kart DS.
- Dry Dry Desert from Paper Mario appears in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, with Dry Dry Ruins, which were discovered during Paper Mario, appearing in Mario Kart Wii.
- Bowser’s Castle from Paper Mario, which was created by Bowser using the Star Rod, reappears in Mario Kart: Super Circuit’s Rainbow Road.
- Goombette from Super Mario Odyssey is pink, just like the other female Goombas previously seen in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door.
- Snowmen from Paper Mario reappear in various games in the Mario Kart series with the same appearance.
- The Mystery Egg item, featured in Mario Kart Arcade GP 2, is a reference to Mini-Yoshi’s Egg from Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door.
- Sky Guys from Paper Mario reappear in Mario Tennis Aces and Mario Strikers: Battle League.
- Red Chomps from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Super Paper Mario reappear in a movie projected by the WarioWare: Touched! souvenir “Reel-to-Reel”, as well as on the Pyramid Park board in Mario Party 7.
- Suits of Koopatrol armor from Paper Mario, Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door and Super Paper Mario appear in Bowser’s Villa on Vibe Island in Super Princess Peach.
- Koopatrols themselves appear in Mario Pinball Land.
- Whackas from Paper Mario, Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario appear in Mario Party 6 on the Snowflake Lake board.
- The Snow Bunny item from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door appears in Mario Party 6 on the Snowflake Lake board.
- The Headbonk move that Goombas perform in the Paper Mario series returns as an attack in Minion Quest: the Search for Bowser and Bowser Jr.’s Journey.
- The Star Spirits from Paper Mario reappear as hosts in Mario Party 5.
- Bowser Sphinx appears with Tutankoopa’s Headdress from Paper Mario on the Pyramid Park board in Mario Party 7.
- The names of Goombario, Kooper, Bombette, Moustafa and Tubba Blubba from Paper Mario appear on the scoreboards in Mario Golf: Advance Tour and Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour.
- Hammer Bros. appear with their uniforms from Paper Mario in Mario Kart: Super Circuit.
- In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga there’s a room in the Woohoo Hooniversity that contains blocks Mario has encountered in his past adventures. Amongst these are blocks from Super Mario Bros., Super Mario World and Super Mario 64, with a block from Paper Mario also appearing.
- Green Magikoopas, Red Magikoopas, Yellow Magikoopas and White Magikoopas from Paper Mario and Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door reappear in Minion Quest: the Search for Bowser, Bowser Jr.’s Journey, Mario Superstar Baseball and Mario Sports Superstars.
- Dark Boos from Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door reappear in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
- Recovery Blocks from Paper Mario, Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door and Paper Mario: Sticker Star reappear in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time and Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam.
- Star Haven from Paper Mario, is mentioned in the intro of the Japanese version of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
The lore of the Paper Mario games in general is also clearly of great importance to the series as a whole, with Super Mario Galaxy’s Power Star lore being directly pulled from the original Paper Mario in large part.
With that, it’s clear that all of these stories, locations and characters indeed exist in Mario’s real world as well as the Paper World.
Part 3: Wrapping it Up
Finally, I’d like to address some common questions that people are left with.
Is it possible that only some Paper Mario games happened in the real world, while others happened in the Paper World?
No. The events of all of the Paper Mario games happened in both the real world and Paper World. It’s made clear that all of the Paper Mario games happen in the same universe as each other, and therefore all occur in both worlds:
- Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door has many callbacks to Paper Mario, through locations like Mario’s House or Dry Dry Desert and characters like Parakarry, Kammy Koopa, Lady Bow, Jr. Troopa and Moustafa.
- Super Paper Mario features portraits of Mario’s partners from Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door in Mario’s House, as well as Catch Cards depicting them.
- Notes belonging to Goombella from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Parakarry from Paper Mario can be found in the trash scraps of Shy Guy Jungle in Paper Mario Sticker Star.
- In Paper Mario: The Origami King, photos of Princess Peach from all previous Paper Mario games can be seen.
How do certain paper-y mechanics work in the real world, such as the Curses in Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door or the Folded Soldiers in Paper Mario: the Origami King?
While many of the paper-y elements of the Paper Mario games can merely be acknowledged as gags and nothing more, story relevant ones like these still make sense within the real world.
Real World characters can be turned into paper, cut, folded or molded without major consequences. As seen in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, magical abilities like the Trio Attacks have the capability to turn real world enemies into paper, before cutting or folding them without any “real world” consequences outside of dealing normal damage. Keeping in mind that the Curses in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Origami Techniques in Paper Mario: The Origami King are too both magical in nature, it makes perfect sense.
Additionally, the real Mario games are no stranger to cartoonish gags as well. Looking to the Mario & Luigi series, for example, in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Luigi is able to be squashed into the shape of a surfboard, while in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Luigi swims through the air to reach the blimp. Additionally, in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario & Luigi: Bowser Inside Story and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Mario is able to be blown up like a balloon or filled to the brim with water.
In the Mario Kart series, characters can be flattened like paper by being crushed by a player with a Mega Mushroom or by obstacles such as Thwomps on the track, before the effect wears off soon afterwards.
In Mario Super Sluggers, a Koopa Troopa hides within a poster, identically to how a Goomba hid on a sign in Paper Mario.
Stickers from Paper Mario: Sticker Star are not natural to the Mushroom Kingdom. The Stickers come from the Sticker Star, and rain down over the Decalburg region once a year when the Sticker Comet arrives.
The magical Paint found in Paper Mario: Color Splash is consistently described as a life force throughout Paper Mario: Color Splash:
“You know... paint! That colourful stuff coursing through our bodies?”
“The paint you just absorbed is basically my blood, sweat and tears.”
“Paint adds beauty and life to the world.”
“Where exactly are we supposed to find this magical, life-giving paint you speak of?”
“I did basically sacrifice my lifeblood to get you out of that pickle back there...”
“They’re sucking the very life out of this beautiful island!”
Paint also appears as a sort of “life force” in various games that take place in the real world, such as Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi’s Mansion and Bowser’s Fury. When Things, real world objects, are wrung out in Paper Mario: Color Splash, they too produce paint, proving that paint is not a substance exclusive to the Paper World.
Conclusion
The Paper Mario games occur in both the Paper World and the real world, but we see them from the perspective of the Paper World. All of the events, locations and characters from the Paper Mario series exist in the real world, with the events, locations and characters from the real Mario series existing in the Paper World.
Thank you for reading!

Mario Headcanons, because I've been into Mario longer than Sonic
Mario and Luigi are technically both from The Mushroom Kingdom and Brooklyn. Ettore and Caterina Garza did indeed do the do, but the Bros' "grew" as fetuses in the hidden Kingdom of Storks, where babies come from in the Mushroom Dimension(for lack of a term at the moment). As such, after Yoshi's Island(Yoshi's New Island is non-canon), the stork ended up carrying the two through the Warp Zone to Brooklyn, and dropping them off in the maternity section. Because of UNBENDING FATE, Mr. and Mrs. Garza were in that hospital that night, and thus, able to pick up their boys, shrugging off how they didn't remember any maternity stuff, nor that the doctor said Caterina was infertile. The Bros. did end up finding a Warp Pipe or two(so Yoshi's Island DS and Partners in Time can happen), but never really staying in The Mushroom Kingdom until they hit their 20s, after chasing a gorilla down into the sewers, clearing out the pipes, and finally, finding the oddest pipe in bright green.
All the Yoshis have names, they just all start with Yoshi. The mainline series Yoshi is Yoshitane, and is fluent in English. The main character of the Yoshi's Island series, and the one who's partially adopted Mario and Luigi in his heart is Yoshisar.
The Star Children and the Star Spirits are connected, with the Star Spirits declaring/deciding who they'd be. Eldstar chose Mario, Mamar chose Yoshitane(despite still being in his egg), Wario was chosen by Skolar, Muskular decided on Bowser(griping about it during Paper Mario after being freed from his card), Misstar was the one who chose Peach, Klevar decided the Garza household didn't have enough visits that night, choosing Luigi, and finally, Kalmar decided the last one would be Donkey Kong III.
Super Paper's prophesy is cyclical. Every 1,500 years, the Pixls awaken as ones who could fulfill the Dark Prognosticus hit the minimum proper age for the end of all worlds, if it is so invoked.
Luigi is so resonant with magic because of the good few hours he spent right by the most powerful Magikoopa, and thus, the strongest wand, in the Koopa Kingdom as an infant. Hence, the electricity, dream-world resonance, and minor prophetic dreams.
Toad names tend to be either a pun(i. e. Niff T.) or something to do with mushrooms(i. e. Lamella).
King Boo(the one from Luigi's Mansion, as there are more than one), originally Scone Turnovend, was once the regent of the Waffle Kingdom. During his reign, he ended up falling in love with a wizard from the Mer clan, Meredith. The two had two children, before Meredith fell ill and died. Later, their daughter, Polaria ended up going missing after finding a fallen star. Eventually, the family's heritage was blotted out when Regent Scone and his son, Quiche, trying to find Polaria, ended up crushed by Whomps, becoming the dark magic-using Boo king and one of the Boos to later be part of Boolossus. As for Polaria, she ended up partially becoming one with the stars, taking the name Rosalina, after her brother's favorite flower.
The Tribe of Darkness don't exactly speak English, so Blumiere learned it from Timpani. Because of this, he picked up her accent and eccentricities. This is why someone as high-class as Blumiere has wide "A"s.
While DooPliss had stolen Mario's name, body, and aPPearance, Luigi, via twin sense, felt rather nauseous, describing it later as if he was having an out-of-body exPerience.

Into, Across and Beyond! Locations: FNF-NEW-2023
Tumblr media
Benjamin: So, what did you bring me out here for, Pico?
Pico: Well, I know you've been busy with your rehearsals for the upcoming concert, and I can't really blame ya. It's just... It's something important I need to get off my chest. For now, it's just between you and me.
Benjamin: I mean, why isn't Grace allowed to hear it? She'd definitely understand.
Pico: Heh, I know. But right now, I don't want to start any mass chaos erupting because of this news, especially not if her dad learns about it.
Benjamin: What do you mean?
Pico: Well, Ben... I'm from the OLD iteration of this universe.
Tumblr media
Benjamin: O-Old iteration? What do you mean?
Pico: It's... a long story. I'll explain it...
WARNING: From this point down, there are unmarked spoilers for Friday Night Funkin': Mario's Madness, ESPECIALLY for its endgame. If you haven't seen or played the mod, please stop reading now to avoid spoilers.
Pico: Remember the whole ordeal the three of us had with that creepy Mario and Xenophanes?
Benjamin: Yeah?
Pico: Well, that was actually meant to be our last conflict, but we managed to escape it alive.
Benjamin: Heh, yeah. We do make a good team.
Pico: However... That haunted cartridge was right at the end of it all for... the ORIGINAL you.

Pico: As "Boyfriend", you were even more brave, albeit with the urge to tackle practically any challenge laid before you if it meant keeping "Girlfriend" safe. All of what happened here was handled differently in the original universe. He fought those trying to kill him, those who just wanted some fun, and even some who... didn't exactly want to be a part of his business.
Tumblr media
Pico: And no matter who it was, even if it was Xenophanes throwing tantrums over actually losing, Boyfriend always persevered in the end. That's what I admired about him; he was not outright a fearless fool. What I learned from the Corruption I experienced was that he always looked to the positives, knowing that there's always a brighter day ahead. At least, until THAT day happened.
Tumblr media
Pico: Like what happened here, I was drawn into the cartridge business when neither BF or GF returned any calls. It must've felt like days when I came to check on them, only to find the TV blaring red static. Before I could even react, I was dragged into that world, where I had to fend off that "Mr. L" entity posing as Luigi... or apparently, a vengeful spirit of him. Even to this day, I don't know what its motives were, but it clearly wanted me dead for the evulz. I managed to escape safely and got on the hunt to find BF and GF safely. However...
Tumblr media
Pico: They were dead when I finally found them... And I was all alone in that digital hellscape with no way back out. I've never forgiven myself for being too late to come to their aid, though I survived as long as I could, busting into the Minus World to try and evade that killer plumber. While there, I came across this entity that resembled... King Koopa? I didn't have long to process this, as everything vanished before my eyes as "Ultra M" approached.
Benjamin: Then what happened?
Pico: I was pretty much reborn into a new universe. THIS one. One key change was the links to the SEGAVerse; you being the younger brother of Hatsune Miku. And you had a bigger family than the "canon" iteration, who simply had a rap-rat as an adoptive brother. Events definitely played out normally, but with numerous changes:
You and Grace dropped out of high-school at 17.
I halted the whole school dangers quickly by dealing with Cassandra promptly, therefore saving even more lives than I once did.
You managed to get Daniel Dearest on your good side after he admitted to his crimes and felt guilty for it.
You've been arguably kinder than the original Boyfriend.
Updike stood down and shut down the Greater Good, thanks to the efforts of you and Whitty, along with Grace, Carol and Sunday, of course.
Benjamin: I had definitely been through a lot.
Pico: Mhm. And when we crossed into Alan Becker's computer, that's when we became teens again, and that's when the things I predicted came to an end. We met Chris and all the others, you got a new boyfriend in Luis, and, well... the rest is history!
Benjamin: Mhm. So, like OMT Tails, I'd be classed as some "anomaly" by those guys because of your actions?
Pico: It shouldn't come to that, hopefully. I'm just really concerned about how you're feeling after what happened to you back in MP-2021, Benji. I really don't want it to take a toll on your life. Same with what I just told you.
Benjamin: Hey, don't worry! I've got an optimistic future ahead! We got the whole Christmas Festival getting set up next week, and Softie's gonna be showing up. Heh, I can't wait to meet him in person. I really want to have him as a little brother and show him the care he deserves!
Tumblr media
Pico: Heh, man. I really admire you for staying positive, even after all the hell you've been through.
Benjamin: I mean, I'll always have you guys. And as long as you're all okay, I'll always find motivation to keep on moving!
Pico: Thanks, Ben. I really appreciate that.
Benjamin: Alright. Why don't we go catch up with the others? They must be getting worried.
Pico: Of course!
Benjamin: Man. I wonder if Evan and Holly will be able to show up there.
Pico: Heh. I'm sure they can make the time if Evan's parents are alright with it.
Meanwhile, at Dimension URB-2023...
Tumblr media
Bently: I'm happy things are okay in the original dimension. You keep being you, Benjamin. Well, who I once was, heh.
Tumblr media
Isabella: You feeling okay, Bently?
Bently: Heh, yeah. If anything, I feel at peace, knowing everything's alright in a version of the universe I came from.
Tumblr media
Isabella: Glad to hear it!
Bently: Well, let's get moving to school! We don't wanna keep Mrs. Aoibhe waiting for too much longer.
Isabella: You got it!

I’m not convinced Crisp Ray Chris Pratt really felt the passion to do this movie. I mean the way he looked off screen every five seconds during the direct was weird like he was grasping for straws.
“I loved the original Mario…game where I stomped…koopas. All at my local….laundromat. I’m so…excited.”
Mr Pratt, people have had their differences with you but blink twice if you need help.
I noticed he did look kinda tired? during that whole video. Like gracious, it looked like he was recovering from a major migraine or something.
That and it looked like as if he was reading a pre-written script to say during this and he couldn't really see it so it made it more awkward each time he paused and looked away.

Curious about the rest of the career of Christopher Collins, aka Chris Latta, the original voices of Starscream and Cobra Commander; turns out he was a stand-up comedian and died unexpectedly in 1994, but not before being the original voice of Mr Burns on the Simpsons, several minor roles on 90s Star Treks, and starring in the bizarre lost “King Koopa’s Kool Kartoons” where he gave away Nintendo-related prizes and showed non-Nintendo-related public-domain cartoons while dressed like this

The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) Review
Tumblr media
Why is it that so many Hollywood movies these days have to include the same exact 80′s songs like ‘Take On Me’ and ‘Holding Out for a Hero’? There’s such a massive catalogue of superb 80s songs, yet for some reason these are used 24/7. They’re good songs, don’t get me wrong, but play same a million times and they lose their magic.
Plot: A Brooklyn plumber named Mario travels through the Mushroom Kingdom with a princess named Peach and an anthropomorphic mushroom named Toad to find his brother, Luigi, and to save the world from a ruthless fire-breathing Koopa named Bowser.
So from the beginning one of the more controversial elements of this film’s announcement was the casting of Chris Pratt as the voice of Mario. For one, Mr Pratt is not Italian, nor do I believe he has any family members or ancestors that are connected to the Italian culture. He also is not from Brooklyn either, where Mario and Luigi are supposed to have their plumbing business at, so again, questionable choice. He’s also got the most generic everyday guy type voice, hence why he previously voiced Emmet from The Lego Movie, cause that entire character’s shtick was that he was ordinary, regular and in no way special individual. As for Mario, well he’s a very Italian sounding chap, with the “mamma-mia”s and the “let’s a go”s and the “I’ve got a familia”s.... Look, Mario is Italian. Luigi is Italian. Why are they being voiced by Chris Pratt and Charlie Day? Cause turns out, the writers cared zero to nothing about any reason or consistency within this film, as I am here to report that The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a mindless shameless cash grab.
The story? There is none. The narrative thread line is so thin that its pointless to talk about. The jokes? Not there. Well, they are there but they aren’t funny. And yes, I am aware that some of the humour is aimed primarily at children, and in fact kids as whole will have a ball with this movie. But making a Mario movie, the fanbase of which is made up mostly of grown up adults that grew up with the Nintendo brand and have a humongous nostalgia factor for the property, you’d think the studio would try to make a movie that’s appropriate for both kids and adults. Harkening back to 2014′s The Lego Movie, that film managed to appease audiences of all ages with both silly humour but also a solid story and enough pop culture references to appease adults who grew up building Lego. The Super Mario Bros. Movie on the other hand is simply children’s humour beginning to end, and like a thousand references and Easter Eggs thrown in from the original games that serve no other purpose other than “oh look, there’s that thing we’ve seen before!”. And as much as my heart thumped in excitement when Mario’s ringtone in the film was revealed to be the Nintendo GameCube theme song, it still doesn’t take away from the fact that at its core the movie is empty. There’s no substance to any of it.
Visually I will say the movie does look great. The animators of Illumination as always deliver a colourful and eye-popping world, with the Mushroom Kingdom being fully realised in all its fun visual flair, and the characters from the games all being animated wonderfully. The music score too pays homage to Mario’s original themes whilst also in-keeping with the movie’s action. So from a technical standpoint the movie is well made, but from a creative side its got nothing.
At the end of the day, me and my friend both agreed that we were bored out of our minds throughout the entire movie, and many times were closing to falling asleep. Granted, we had a meal at the local pub prior and each had a pint alongside it, but a single pint does not knock someone out unless they’re flat out bored - which we were. Like, Chris Pratt wasn’t even that bad as Mario. He was just okay. All the voice cast are just okay. Jack Black makes for a solid Bowser, however them forcing Black to constantly sing that stupid unfunny Peaches song did grind my gears. The movie is 100% for kids, and there are nostalgic elements to it all, but I do believe that Illumination and Nintendo should have followed more in The Lego Movie’s footsteps and targeted the film for audiences of all ages. Should have had Phil Lord and Chris Miller produce, let’s be honest. I’m just going to go rewatch Puss in Boots: The Last Wish again - now that’s an animated movie that was way better than expected!!
Overall score: 3/10

Croatia in eurovision psa/lh
i need europe to know something about Croatia's eurovision entry. and i mean it, this is... quite rather important. well if you wanna understand the song that is, idk maybe it wont be as important to you, i dont know you
so if you heard it, you may have noticed that its a song encouraging dancing and is all happy and hyper and whatnot. the song is actually very sad and melancholic and sombering if you live in a culture like ours. he is singing about going to a big city, leaving his family and everything he ever knew and loved behind. he literally uses the phrase "my anxiety attacks". over here, most people stay in their family home for generations. my grandmother still "worships" the home her father was born in. the villages and towns are small here, pretty much your whole life is just as small, and to suddenly go so far far away from such a closely-bound family/town to a big city where life is completly different and cold... its a big scary things. he talks about the city boys and hopes they also know his family's dance, he calls them advanced, and is hopeful the noise will be calming... its scary, and its a thing that happens very very often. Croatian people are moving away more and more. and not just to a big croatian city (the the capital is very popular as well), but to places like Germany, Ireland, or Sweeden and Norway. i personally have family or people i know who made a life far away and we dont even know how they are by now. its a big decision, but its in search for a better life (we literally have addventisments begging people to stay in their city/town or even in Croatia itself). he says he's leaving with the first light, and asks his family not to cry, but to dance... and together they'll have one last one, as a last goodbye.
i just really want everyone listening to the song to know that its not just a dance song, a party song... its a song of great turmoil and remedying it with a family dance. i feel by understanding more of the song, you'd see it with more respect.
and im not just pulling this outta my ass, those are the themes we have here, and if you watch the official music video of the song... it ends with him sitting by a pier waiting for his boat, sitting on his bag with his head in his hands, all alone, not a soul in sight. as the sky is cloudy and dark, somber music playing along. much different atmosphere from the rest of the video, and song in general.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie Review
*spoilers*
9/10- lost a point for the line “Now that’s how you Princess”
First off, let’s talk about my expectations going into the movie. I’ve been super hyped about this move, not just for the cast, but for the theme itself. The Super Mario games have been known for having plotlines that sort of go parallel with one another, but don’t cross over. That being said, I was very impressed with the plotline.
The movie follows Mario, a plumber from Brooklyn, NY, and his brother Luigi. They’re sucked into a green tube and are split apart. Luigi ends up in the Dark Kingdom and Mario ends up in the Mushroom Kingdom. There, Mario meets Toad and the two travel to the castle to find Princess Peach. The three of them then go to the Kong Kingdom to ask Cranky Kong for his help in defending from Bowser, who has recently found the Superstar. Meanwhile, Luigi is captured and held in the Dark Kindgom. Bowser assembles and rallies his army, revealing his plan: to marry Princess Peach.
What I love about this movie was the subtle references to the fact that the characters came from a game itself. Unlike The Last of Us or the FNAF movie coming out, it’s not just one storyline. There were subtle shifts into Mario running through Brooklyn and the change in camera positioning that made it look like the original games. There were scenes depicting the Smash Bros. arena and the MarioKart games, which I found to be so amazing.
The score was also amazing. Movie scores are such an integral part of movies and can pull them apart. While the movie had tense moments, there were still the classic Mario chimes or the ringtone to Luigi’s phone being the original GameCube song. There were also times like when Donkey Kong was introduced and the DK Rap begins. Jack Black also wrote an original song that Bowser sings as a ballad to Princess Peach as he travels to propose to her. They also used songs like Thunderstruck, No Sleep Til Brooklyn, Take On Me, Holding Out For A Hero, and Mr. Blue Sky.
Of course, like any kids movie, there are cheesy moments. As you’ve seen from the trailer, the blue star that is captured and talks about death and dying in such a cheery voice or some of the lines from Toad.
Character-wise, I think much of the voice work was amazing. I, among many others, was skeptical of Chris Pratt’s casting. I grew to like his voice, realizing that his classic voice would have been a little annoying considering how much talking he did. Donkey Kong was one of my favorite characters. His introduction was amazing and the song choice of the DK Rap was amazing.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie. I enjoyed how they understood the limitations that come with the video games along with all of the references. I’d definitely see it again.
Bonus: My favorite scene after Donkey Kong’s introduction is when Bowser explains to his army his plan
Bowser: ... and then I will ask her to marry me in a fairytale wedding
Unnamed Koopa: Doesn’t she hate you?
Bowser: Yes, but that only makes me love her more

Well, she's glad to get those off of her hands. Thus she has her claymore vanish and switches to her usual look since Freyja really didn't like being in her original form for too long. Then both stones appear in her hands since she was no longer in a form that'd let her keep them hidden in a pocket dimension. "Well, actually hold on, let me use the Dream Stone right quick." What did she use it for? Dumping Bowser in a rift with no warning then completely repairing the castle.
Tumblr media
"As usual, you're very quick to drop that form moment you no longer have to stay in it." Hikari on the other hand became her usual lightning focused form.
Tumblr media
"Because if I can go the rest of eternity without using it, I'll be happy. Everything about it against what I want in the first place."
Tumblr media
As the Koopa King was forced to make surprise exit, the younger princess would wave him off with a brief ‘bye bye!’ “ And there goes Mr. Bowser...again. Man, getting dropped in a rift? Twice in a row? That must sting, a little. “ Well, not sting physically. Guy was built like the tank of all tanks. Being able to actually damage him was something only the bros or someone around their level were capable of. His ego, though, probably didn’t take anywhere near as much strength. Well, then again, he did believe in himself an awful lot. So...
Meanwhile, as the younger royalty was busy playing around with her own thoughts, the elder would gladly take the stones off of Freyja’s hands. The less stress the other had to deal with, the better. Considering she already seemed a bit annoyed about the fact she had to use a form that she was clearly not a fan of, there was no point in letting any more fuel be added to the flame.
Tumblr media
“ Anyways, thank you, once again. For both keeping the castle safe, and sending Bowser away. You really were a big help. “ She’d state, while giving Freyja a courteous bow. “ If there’s anything else I can do to repay, just say the word, and I’m right on it. “

My top picks for Super Smash Bros. 6′s roster and representation - Original 8
It’s been about eight months since Sora’s inclusion to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. There hasn’t been any news about what’s next after the Nintendo Switch, but if Mr. Sakurai wishes to continue making Smash Bros. games, here is what I’m hoping for in the next games. From what I’ve experienced with 3DS and Ultimate, I would love to see more customizing options for both fighters (specials and grabs that aren’t just variations of the original moves) and stage builder (hazardous terrain and obstacles from Spirit Battles and more swimmable water). In terms of which characters get in, I decided to make this post. I’ll go over most Nintendo-owned series and pick who I would like to see added and who I think should be dropped. I won’t be covering any of the third-party guest series because I don’t know how much Nintendo will keep up the deals and negotiations. Also, this all based on my personal opinion. So let’s begin! Long post so it’s under the cut.
Super Mario So we finally got Princess Daisy in Smash, but she ends up as an Echo of Peach. I know that Sakurai has clone characters as a way to make the final roster look more impressive and that as far back as the 64 days, the unlockables made it in through recycled assets (Ness was the only one not based on any pre-existing animations). And I think out of all of Ultimate’s Echo Fighters, Daisy is the closest to her original in terms of gameplay. While I am a Daisy fan, I would just say diverge from Peach more or don’t bring her back at all.
I don’t think Nintendo’s mascot franchise needs anymore playable reps. The damage has been done with Waluigi, and as much as people wish Geno was in the game, he’s technically owned by Square. I don’t think Nintendo really cares much about the RPGs anymore to add a rep like Fawful or Vivian in sadly. She’s not a popular pick, but if I had to pick another main Mario rep, it would be Birdetta the Birdo to cover the more unusual Super Mario platformers like Super Mario Bros. 2 USA. She would have a zoner “catch and return” playstyle much like SMB2. There’s Toad, but I wouldn’t be super excited for him. Also considering Piranha Plant’s inclusion means that mooks are possible, I think there’s enough variations for Chargin’ Chucks, Hammer Bros, and Koopa Troopas to derive movesets from.
Donkey Kong Considering that even Diddy hasn’t been showing up in recent Mario spin-offs and that fans demand led to K. Rool’s inclusion, I don’t feel like any of the DK characters needs to be dropped. If anything, customizations to better represent the Donkey Kong Country series. DK has the hand slap and roll attack, but all his other moves boil down to just “gorilla brute force”, Diddy takes more from his Donkey Kong 64 abilities which immigrated into the Retro developed Country games, and King K. Rool takes from his various boss fights, but doesn’t represent any of DKC’s major mechanics. So my pick would be Dixie Kong and moves (or even Assist Trophies) that uses the Animal Buddies, the various barrel types, and the minecarts. She would have the best aerial movement and attacks out of the DK cast, but lacks in KO potential.
Legend of Zelda I do love Ultimate’s decision to have the Zelda characters to represent different parts of the Zelda timeline. Because of that, I can’t think of anyone to drop and come up with an appropriate replacement, especially since some of the more popular Zelda characters like Midna, Zant, Linebeck, and Urbosa are one-shots (OoT!Time Zelda disguising herself as Sheik was the only reason the latter got in the first place). Of the characters that appeared in multiple games in different timelines, I’m thinking either Twinrova, Impa, or even Tingle. When I was younger, I initially wanted Twinrova who would play like Dormammu from Marvel vs. Capcom 3, storing up two different types of spells and unleashing a different   attack based on how many spells were stored prior to unleashing. Only now, the obvious inspiration for Twinrova would be Gill’s pyrokinesis and cryokinesis from Street Fighter III. Impa could take inspiration from Koei’s Hyrule Warriors games and elsewhere in the franchise, and Tingle can take from his spin-off games.
I still want to see Ganondorf further diverge from Captain Falcon, and I do love the little changes Super Smash Flash 2 gave him, especially the projectile up-throw and the Dead Man’s Volley neutral air.
Metroid Again, divergent character evolution or not at all for Dark Samus. Still no news about Prime 4, but even though I still haven’t beaten Dread yet, Raven Beak is my top pick for another Metroid rep. Sure, that would leave Metroid as the only series in which the rogue’s gallery outnumbers the protagonists, but Kirby was like that too until Return to Dream Land established Dedede and Meta Knight as rivals-turned-allies.
Yoshi I mean, I love Yoshi as much as everyone else, but I never liked it how the franchise never strays far enough from being an obvious Mario spin-off (the Koopa Troop are still the villains). I could ask for Kamek, but he might actually be considered a Super Mario rep instead. Poochy maybe, but I see him more as an Assist that would operate like how he did in the original Yoshi’s Island following the direction you’re facing. When I was younger, I would say Baby Mario and Baby Luigi as a team fighter referred to as Baby Bros.. Years later, I didn’t like it because the moveset I thought for them would be based more on the Bros. Attacks from the Mario & Luigi series than anything the Yoshi games have to offer, and the uncomfortable thought of beating up babies. If there’s customization idea for Yoshi himself, maybe the watermelon effects or the vehicle transformations, especially since the default Egg Roll is a cute, but ineffective move.
Kirby Best boy Bandana Waddle Dee is my top choice using his Spear and some inspiration from Beam and Parasol. A lightweight with good reach and air mobility, but struggles with a lack of power. He was made during the Sakurai era of the series, but only started gaining prominence in the modern era. Other rep ideas I have are either Gooey, Magolor, or Adeleine. I don’t know how comfortable Sakurai is with the idea of Kirby representation of games after his time or even the Dark Matter Trilogy (I don’t know if was fond of the idea of humans in the games). Though if taking the mook route. Knuckle Joe would be a top pick as well.
Star Fox Considering games like Zero and the Starlink guest appearance not getting as much success as hoped, I don’t know where the franchise is going at this point. Both Falco and Wolf seem to be last minute inclusions, the former being part of Melee’s “Similar Six” as I like to call them, and the latter being lumped with Jigglypuff and Toon Link as post-game Subspace encounters. Also their specials take inspiration from Fox’s own. For next game, the Star Fox series can be like the Zelda series in that each the playable characters could be redesigned represent the three timelines in the franchise, SNES, 64 through Assault, and Zero. If adding for the SNES era, Miyu or Fay from Star Fox 2. If it’s 64 through Assault, Krystal. Hopefully some more unique specials for them rather than heavily modified versions of Fox’s specials.
Pokémon With Scarlet & Violet coming soon, I expect one of their new Pokémon to be added. Though I would love to see a rep from Legends: Arceus. Or better yet, Akari with a team of an Eeveelution (mostly Glaceon), a fully-evolved Hisui starter, and one of the other regional variants or Hisui (Zoroark, Sneasler, Lilligant and the like).
Pichu redeemed themselves in my eyes, and I don’t know if Greninja and Incineroar are going the maintain their popularity around Gen IX. Also, I have a personal bias against Charizard despite being popular since the early days.

Kinda late DnK headcanons, but I think Luigi was absent at almost all Blumiere's games because he was so invested in his and Peasley's relationship. And Mario was always like "oh he's not coming again?" And everyone just. They didn't know how to tell him. Even Tippi knew.
he’s busy!!! and Blumiere is clearly having. A Time. with his character sheet, anyways
