finally reading tsats here are my live thoughts (spoilers, obviously):

i’m so excited because some pages are darkly decorated and its so cool. still don’t vibe with the title though (the sun IS a star and its peeving me)

why are we talking about dating darth vader 😟 where are we rn (anakin is a yes, but DARTH VADER???)

maybe i’m too old but the jokes are not funny 😭

“this whole place feels like my soul. empty and dark. dark as the pit of the underworld.” <- i don’t care if he’s joking nico would never say thissss 🙏😭 we’re only 10 pages in but please stop butchering my fav character he’s not himselffff i am cringing so bad

i know i’m being dramatic but if they do nico dirty in this book i’m going to end it all

oh my god i don’t think i’ve thought about the words “significant annoyance” in so long. bringing back good memories for sure.

i can tell which parts were written by riordan and which parts were written by oshiro. i don’t think their voices are blending very well together…

also, maybe it’s because it’s the start of the book and they’re trying to familiarise new readers quickly with the characters but it feels like they’re making nico the caricature of ‘emo and shadow and ebony darkness dementia raven way 🥀⛓️🖤’ and will the caricature of ‘happy and sunshine and blonde and flower gleam and glow ☀️🌈🫧’ and i usually like this dynamic when it’s not blatantly pointed out every other page. i have faith they’ll show more complexity than this later on though. future yan will let me know by the end. (future yan here, im not at the end but the characterisation def does get more complex thank gods)

“what was one straight boy when you spent your whole life longing for the impossible?” <- i’m reminded of that time a few years back where everyone made ‘having an unrequited crush on percy’ nico’s whole fanon personality, so i’m glad they addressed this somewhat. this boy has been through so much and people really thought crushing on percy was the biggest thing to focus on about ‘nico angst.’

“we made a mistake. you have to fix it.” <- call me a red flag but if i was nico i would do anything and everything to not go. i would medicate myself so highly on sleeping pills that i can’t dream (doctor bf can go kick rocks). i would track percy and annabeth down and haul their asses into tartarus instead to do it. and if i had to go i would only go in to kill bob myself for sending me those traumatic ass nightmares. no thx. bro willingly jumped in himself and now wants me to save him. nuh uh.

Okay look, first of all let me tell you that mommy!reader LOVES her son and would never want to be caught in the act with Toshi, cuz that would be so traumatizing

THAT being said, Toshi and you are still fools in love and sometimes might slip (happens to the best of us)

Toshi loves you, loves talking to you, loves listening to you, loves touching you.

The only time you allow Toshi and you to get all romantic and stuff, is if Tenko is at school or as long as he’s not home

But what happens if by some reason he comes home early 😭

“Babyy stopp” You giggle as Toshi keeps sucking and kissing the sensitive spot on your neck. It has been a while since you both got really intimate since Tenko was always at home during winter break. “Its okay baby, young Tenko isn’t home, and won’t be home for a while right? Just one round please?” You grab onto his shoulders as he lifts you up, pinning on the wall of your bedroom, your legs locking on his waist while he holds your bottom. You giggle as you both make out, your hand making a mess of his hair. “You know it’s never just one round” “It’ll be quick, we’ll be done before Tenko comes home, hm?” He starts kissing your neck again, leaving hickies which you lightly scolded him for, Tenko was gonna have a panic attack if he notices. You let out a whine and you were finally gonna fold when suddenly— “What the fuck??” You were both surprised by the loud slamming of the door, before it completely disintegrated. You immediately pushed yourself off your boyfriend and silently tried to wipe the spit on your neck. Toshi fixed his hair while you stand protectively in front of him, knowing your son was gonna throw a fit “Oh hi sweetie! When did you got home haha.. Umm how about we go and bake some cookies :D” You were so obviously panicking, and for some reason you weren’t seeing the same thing Toshi was seeing. Toshi is literally so scared of Tenko right now, he really looked like he wanted to kill him. And of course, without a doubt, the angry teenage boy attempted to punch the pro hero. Tenko went insane, how dare this shithead violate my mother? It took you an hour to stop the fight, and you asked Toshi to go home for now, apologizing on the behalf of your son. When you were gonna talk to him about enough is enough, he can’t keep interfering with your love life like this, you noticed that he was furiously scratching his neck, something you haven’t seen in a long time since you adopted him. You immediately stopped his hands, and rubbed some medicine on his neck. He looked up to you with teary eyes and said “Please don’t leave me”

This incident made you more careful when you were goint to be intimate with Toshi

Too careful in fact to the point that Toshi was so touch starved

And Tenko is smiling at a corner, happy seeing Toshi suffer

First, around 5 people requested this. Second, as always I asked him if I may do this reading, and he was so exited that he gave the world as a yes. And it hit my nose. Why do I have a feeling that our moody teenager was actually waiting for me to ask him about this? 🤣🤣

Let’s start the reading

I see here some sort of a broken millionaire drama, when he’s on top of the world, when Niki would be the one that lost himself in all that fame and luxury, when he lost his path, forgot what life is about, going from a party to a party, him being in his fuck boy era, I also see him being much older and mature in this reading. This happens when he’s tired of his life and feels kina empty inside. His lifestyle would be an escape mechanism for him,

I think of a scenerio when Niki sees someone sitting alone at a large party, hidden in a corner away from people, not having fun at all. There is something about them that intrigues him, some kind of a magnetic pull. He comes to them with confidence that they will be all over him. After all he is THE NIKI, everybody loves him. But as he proceeds to flirt with them, he gets humbled with their sarcasm and wit. At this point he would just stare as they leave, too stunned to say anything,

But he wouldn’t let them leave, he would chase them, convince them to give him a chance, they would be the first person that he would open up to in years. They would heal him from, show him the new, brighter path. They would make him feel complete again, awake that passion that was gone for so long,

I also got some more cards to get to know that person better, they’re supposed to be someone compassionate and loving, some with a pure heart (but someone that isn’t keen on him), he might fantasize about someone outside of his social circle, an ordinary person, not famous or rich but with smart, someone that has everything while having nothing, that celebrates the life for the small things and that stands their ground when they need to, but I’m also picking up some sort of a traumatic childhood, they had to learn to take care of themselves early in their life, because they were left on their own,

Please remember this is the scene from his subconscious mind, this doesn’t even have to be something he would want to happen in real life. It’s him being delusional. That’s from my own experience, I’ve done this reading on myself and I swear if I were to date in real life I’d want something less ✨toxiqe✨. However I can’t say that it wasn’t accurate 😭😭

Hi! I was wondering if Cain does die, will this open up branches for the rest of the game on how our MC reacts? Or will we mostly head canon our MC's feelings about it as the story continues on. I play a super shy/naive MC and was thinking how other characters may notice his personality shift if Cain does die. I love Cain so much and do NOT want this boy to suffer or die and will do my best to keep him alive, but I also don't want to go back on my MC's decisions if they are true to his character. May the odds be ever in your favor Cain 😭

Hi, allowing Caine to die in the Prologue is such an early choice that I don't really see MC continually thinking about it/bringing it up a lot throughout the course of the game, especially since each MC may have different feelings about it (indifference or pragmatism or 'Caine who? never heard of him' versus guilt, for example). That would just be a lot of branching as well assumption on the feelings/thoughts of the MC, so I think that kind of personality shift will be more in the realm of headcanon, though MC can be implied to become more and more traumatized as the game goes on!

If Caine dies later on in the game, though, that's a different story!

hello i saw you in the notes talking about arthur and morgana's relationship and i would love to hear you talk more please. i am unhinged about them.

(no pressure tho if you don't feel like it)

this is literally the best thing someone could say to me after a 16 hr flight 😭 bless u anon

also me too. so i'm just gonna ramble ab my headcannons and then also their canon relationship below the cut bc it is so interesting to me and i really have a lot to say and i really mean. A LOT.

so let's start off with season 1/pre-canon and the source of all their problems: uther pendragon. uther pendragon is fucking insane and possibly one of the worst parents ever,,, like def top 10 worst fathers i think

pre-season 1 time line as I see it:

- he marries ygraine from the house of du bois after becoming king,, probably like 3-7 years after,, he claimed he loved her (heavily debatable!!) and she seemed to as well so they assumedly married for love

- now uther has a best friend at the time: Gorlois (now if this is his name-name or surname i'm not sure so i'm just going to go say surname since they're nobility) This man is known by Uther had the bravest man he's ever met,, and his wife the Lady Vivienne probably lost him in battle bc later in season 3,, Uther says a much and says Lady Vivienne was: "lonely so he consoled her"...

- now, this is where my headcannon comes in,, I'm pretty damn sure morgana is older than arthur,, meaning that I'm pretty sure that Uther cheated on ygraine out of that shared grief and around this time ygraine probably was showing growing signs of being barren/unable to become pregnant which probably worried the court ngl

- so morgana conception happens,, vivienne goes away,, gorlois thinks she's his,, during this time uther finally gives in and sacrifices ygraine's life for arthur's and ultimately blames it on arthur/all of magic (remember the talk w uther and nimueh when he says: i wish he'd [arthur] never been born bc it meant losing ygraine essentially like,,,. ok. wow.)

- now season 1: there is so much evidence uther is an abusive shit:

- he throws both of his children in jail whenever they toe the line in a way he doesn't find amusing (ie: s1e4 and s1e12)

- arthur straight up says (he's about 20/21 atp): i never knew you were proud of me,, in fact i always thought i was a disapointment (meaning: uther never went out of his way to show him otherwise for a solid 20-21 years.)

and uther doesn't actually say he's proud of him he just goes: i wouldn't wish for another son (after drugging him so he wouldn't duel being a hypocritical king)

so all of this: leads back to morgana and arthur's relationship

morgana and arthur in season 1 have a somewhat tentative relationship,, we can see that most of the kingdom thinks the two of them are going to marry one another (including themselves at times) ie: gwen saying morgana would make a great queen one day,, but they also bicker all the damn time

snipes here and there,, but ultimately it usually comes down to their differences in how they reacted to their upbringing from uther:

arthur became the dutiful/exceptional son: he became a knight at 20 (usually took knights till mid twenties-early thirties), later we learn he led druid raids pre-canon (this traumatized him also again fuck uther) this would also be exceptional seeing as he probably wasn't a fully fledged knight even then, and is known throughout Camelot (and most of Albion tbh) as a master swordsman,, and while he did have his own thoughts on magic he often bit his tounge in front of his father in order to prove himself,, we also know that unlike morgana: he learned exactly how to navigate around uther so he could do what he wanted against uther's will while not embarrassing in front of the court (ie: when he went to go save gwen after saying to his father and the court that it was probably a lost cause)

morgana was the people's princess,, but she def got the "i am my father's daughter" syndrome BADDDDD: we see in s1 she's often stood up to Uther in front of the court numerous times, so much so that when she gets thrown into prison (s1e12) it's not the first time,, arthur tells her: "i promised him that this would be the last time you acted out against him like this" (paraphrasing) and morgana replies "you're a good man, unlike your father" (line that makes me insane)

they are parallel from the start within these two episodes specifically!!! many may argue morgana was good and kind from the beginning,, but she often did things FOR HER OWN MOTIVES!!! when she helped gwen's father to escape without consulting gwen,, it confirmed it for me. she may have convinced herself it was for gwen,, but she never even asked,, she did it to piss of uther not thinking it all the way through,, opening his cell and leaving him to fend for himself against a bataillon of knights. now i'm not saying morgana has never done anything out of pure kindness,,

but whereas arthur is constantly set up as a righteous and noble man in his heart but his actions can appear to be... for lack of a better word, extremely dickish

morgana's actions appear to be kind and generous, but can often endanger those around her in her conquest for the things she wants, sometimes ending in death. (AGAIN NOT ALWAYS!!!)

NOW this leads me to the fact that once again they were the only two who grew up under Uther really and are the only ones who know what that's like,, they probably already felt more like brother and sister by the time s1 hit just bc of that but endured it bc they weren't blood and swallows the fact they were probably gonna be married but you can see it in the scenes alone,,

morgana does push arthur to be better and to challenge the things uther taught them bc that is what she instinctively does!! morgana questions uther and in return teacher arthur to question uther (ie: pushing arthur to save merlin in s1e4, helps him to strike down valiant s1e2, makes him argue back when gwen was wrongfully imprisoned s1e3) and we see that morgana does care for arthur!! she threatens sophia when she noticed something is off and often rushes to the defense of her friends,, her tactics can be destructive though just in a parallel way to arthur's

arthur's destructiveness comes from his inability to choose a side, or based his assumptions on prejudices something that becomes even more apparent when morgana turns away from Camelot and it's people

morgana was probably rooting for arthur as a king for a certain point,, but even though the grew up together and she should know arthur's MO is usually 'just say yes in front of dad and do whatever the fuck is just later' morgana doesn't trust him. and as her powers grow this also becomes more apparent and her support wanes until she believes someone else should be on the throne,,,

and when she learns that uther is her father??? that's when she flies off the deep end.

now for me morgana being older than arthur is one of the only reasons why she would have a valid claim to the throne!! we see that mithian as the only girl succeeded her father as QUEEN not just princess meaning the laws of succession COULD include women it just depended on the region,,

now imagine being morgana:

you grow up at home with your father, he is kind, brave, and gentle, and a fearsome warrior, he is the kings best friend. he dies and you move in probably around the age of 8 and you see this 6 year old boy. you later learn the kingdom expects the two of you to marry. you're still grieving but you know what this means. you take the etiquette lessons, you learn to wield the sword, you become proficient in horseback riding, you gain the education fitting of a queen. you are 15, the prince is 13, he is already one of the most promising squires. it's alright though you're learning to love him, not as a romance though (not anymore at least, he tried to flick his booger at you once at the age of 8, the flame was staunchly out out.) you two appreciate one another, you get older, it is improper for the two of you to be alone together, you witness your first execution. he's being killed for the crime of sorcery (he saved a little girl from a burning building), you don't understand. you meet your maidservant, she is one of the most lovely people to grace the earth. you love her, as a friend. you grow older, you're still expected to marry the prince (he is 18), he has killed many. he has watched even more die. he is different, you are different. you watch another man die for the crime of sorcery, you don't understand. two years pass, you're tormented by dreams you cannot comprehend but always seem to come true, a serving boy arrives, he changes the prince again. you watch another man die. you don't understand, but you hold your tounge now until later. the king's temper is short. years past and the sleeping draughts aren't working, your dreams are getting worse. your maidservant is in love with the prince. you're jealous, you don't understand. you think you have magic, you see the prince become his father. you don't understand, you just want someone to tell you it'll be alright. after years of anger and bitterness you finally understand, you hate the king and all he's done, the world would be better if he were gone, arthur would be better if he were gone. arthur loves him anyways and it kills you. you meet a woman who claims to be your sister, both of blood and in magic. you take her hand, she promises to teach you all there is to be taught. your anger for the king festers. the prince you once loved turns out to be your brother. the king you hate turns out to be your father. you beg him to recognize you, and give you the family name you were stripped of. he doesn't. you kill him. you kill s lot of people. you don't care if they're innocent or not anymore. you connive, and you plot, and you scheme. you try to kill the prince, who is now king. your sister dies. you miss your best friend, the handmaiden who is now queen. she says she hates you. you hate arthur. you die trying to make him as miserable as you.

now arthur:

one day your father brings a girl home, everyone is telling you that they you expect to marry. father doesnt say anything. you think she's pretty, you accidentally flick your booger at her and she looks at you like you've wiped horseshit on her dress. you watch a man die for the crime of magic. you don't understand, you will soon. your father looks at you like there is someone he can't stand to see. he cherishes this girl he's brought home. you work harder than any squire seen before. you get promoted early, everyone says it is just because of the king, you beat them in everything so they can't secondaries you ever again. you watch more sorcerers die, your father says it is because they killed your mother, you secretly feel like a bad person because you don't understand why all sorcerers deserve to die for the crime of one death. even if it is your mother. you twist her ring. your father's ward is beautiful, you try to impress her, she's too busy hanging out with her maidservant. you get older and complete your first druid camp raid, you don't understand, so many of them are women and children, so many of them die anyways. you change. you grow older, you become the youngest knight in camelot, you think it will turn your father's ward's attention to you, she's infatuated with owain, the oaf. you get older, and you meet the most insufferable boy with the most outrageous ears and the most obvious lies. he changes you. morgana becomes more distant. you learn that your mother's life was given for yours, you try to kill your father. the manservant you trust most in the world says that sorcerers lie, you finally understand. you hate sorcery and despise any practitioners of magic from now on. you grow older, you begin to fall in love with your sister's manservant, you understand her infatuation. you grow as a prince, and person, you gain alliances in unlikely places, you don't think you'll marry morgana anymore. you learn your father's ward is your sister, you watch as she usurps the throne. you don't understand. you fight back. you become king. you marry the love of your life. she betrays you with a close friend. you become lost. you forgive her, you trust again. you are fighting your sister. always. you don't even recognize her anymore, you wonder if you ever did. you later learn that magic was never evil, on your deathbed, and that your soulmate had it the whole time. you wonder about your sister. she tries to kill you again. she dies in your best friend's arms and all you can think is how she finally looks peaceful for the first time in forever. you die the same way not too long after.

anyways: morgana and arthur parallel each other so hard it's crazy,,, and the pendragons are a family of self-fulfilling prophecies

like that is your sister/brother and you love them and you hate them and nobody else couldn't possibly get it and they hate you but you will always love them and you are home but you can never go home and -!

I DID, AND IT WAS GLORIOUS!

That said, I'm mostly trying to ignore the general fandom reaction and stick to my usual circle (fairly easy on Tumblr, less so on Reddit). Yeah, people are hyping up Yuuji now, but it wouldn't be the first time the general JJK fandom praises him for a panel or two and then goes right back to "Yuuta or Megumi should be the MC" wank a chapter or two later. Though a lot of people seem to have turned on Megumi as well recently because god forbid a fifteen-year-old be traumatized to inaction by *gestures at everything Sukuna's done in his body*

Others have discussed this in greater depth, but everything Yuuji's shown off this chapter has been meticulously established for several chapters, including the blood manipulation. The Black Flash is amazing for both timing and what looks like scale, but he was labelled "blessed by the black sparks" (don't quote me on that, I didn't check the manga phrasing, but the gist is the same) as early as the fight against Esō and Kechizu. His growth and abilities have been stunningly consistent, and that kid is both powerful and fascinating. Even after Shibuya, the story has shone every time he takes center stage.

But these are things people have been dismissing for years, and I don't really trust them not to continue doing it, especially once Sukuna counters.

Yuuji fans who've been Yuuji fans this whole time? I trust ya'll. I'm side-eyeing everyone else.

PRE-RELATIONSHIP

How did they first meet?

Noir was his mentor, of course. That didn't develop into feelings until later, but that's how it started.

2. What was their first impression of each other?

Homelander was, I think, impressed by Noir, if for no other reason than Noir had the experience and credentials that he himself lacked. (Mirrorlander, of course, saw him as a threat, but that wore off when Noir offered to help him out.) Noir, on the other hand, saw this wide-eyed (and quite frankly terrified) naive kid getting worked over by Madelyn and decided NOPE ABSOLUTELY NOT and decided "Welp, this is my son now"

3. Did any of their friends or family want them to get together?

Canonically, of course, they don't get together. In my little AU though, nobody cares as long as Homelander is leaving them alone. (And of course everyone is too afraid of Noir to say anything :'( )

4. Who felt romantic feelings first?

Noir, although I'm not sure either of them are emotionally aware enough to realize they're in love. I don't think Homelander would realize that he had a boyfriend (in a similar way that I don't think he ever thought of Stillwell as a girlfriend) and I'm not sure Noir could articulate what exactly was happening with his feelings--the mixture of parental/platonic/brotherly/romantic love baffles him. If asked, he just shrugs and says he loves the Homelander, and then goes back to his doodles.

5. Did either of them try to resist their feelings?

Nah. Like I said, I don't think either of them actually realized there were feelings like that.

6. If you had told one of them that the other would be their soulmate, what would they think?

Noir would just shrug; he doesn't believe in soul mates. Homelander would make That Face. You know the one.

7. What would their lives be like if they had never met?

I think both of them would both be far more ensnared in Vought. Homelander would have been completely at the mercy of Stillwell, and Noir would have simply become Stan Edgar's lapdog.

GENERAL

Who initiated the relationship, and how did it go?

Okay so I've got this whole little AU where Noir lives (you can see it on my AO3) and that's what I'm going with 😤 Neither of them did. Noir intended to leave, but didn't make it out of the building before turning back around and showing Homelader exactly what Soldier Boy had done to him. The night before the showdown, they had sex in an effort to comfort both themselves and each other. Although thinking about it, Homey moved in for the kiss first 🤔

2. Did they have an official first date? If so, what was it like?

Not really. They're not actually aware they're in a relationship 😭

3. What was their first kiss like?

Noir was terrified because he had his mask off and I'm not sure Homelander was sure he was going to do it. (They obviously enjoyed it though.)

4. Were they each other’s first anything (kiss, relationship, etc.)?

They were both each other's first experience with a man. Noir, dealing with his own traumatic childhood and self-esteem issues, hadn't ever actually had a relationship before at all.

5. What’s their height difference? Age difference?

Noir is 6'3". Homelander is 5'11". Noir is in his early 70s, and Homelander is almost 40.

6. What’s their relationship with each other’s families?

Noir was more than happy to put Soldier Boy back in the box, and he absolutely adores Ryan. He also doesn't have any family for Homelander to get to know.

7. Who takes the lead in social situations?

Homelander, obviously. It's easier to take the lead if you're the only one who can talk.

8. Who gets jealous easier?

Again, Homelander. But Noir doesn't have any (real) relationships besides Noir, so there's not really anything for him to get jealous over. 😭

Noir, although they both flash each other the sign fairly regularly.

Noir shows his love by... what do you call it. Acts of service. He actually knows how to cook (although he's got his own way of doing things) and likes to make people meals. Homelander does have to check on him though, because the only thing worse than dissociation in the kitchen is dissociation in the kitchen while the stove is on. Homelander is... he listens to Noir, asks questions, engages with him, and makes Noir a part of his life. His love language is treating someone as an equal, even though (to him) they wouldn't be otherwise.

3. Who uses cheesy pick-up lines?

Neither of them.

4. How often do they cuddle/engage in PDA?

In public? They don't. In private though, they're very touchy.

5. Who initiates kisses?

Generally Noir. There have been a few times that Homeland has tried initiating smooches when Noir was zoned out and it... did not end well. 😭

They switch. Noir likes being the big spoon though. He sees Homelander as his responsibility, and when Homey's little body is curled up against his, he feels like he's actually able to protect him.

They enjoy playing with Ryan. It makes them feel as close to a normal family as they're ever gonna get.

Noir is better at it simply because Homelander has the emotional skills of a potato. He tries though, and for Noir, that's enough.

Oh, both of them. The most frustrating thing is that there's only so much each of them can do for the other.

Physical, absolutely. Noir loves the way that touch makes him feel less monstrous and scary, and Homelander is just a very tactile guy.

Again, they don't really do that, whoops

Homelander remembers things like dates, anniversaries, etc. Noir generally just has a vague idea of what day it is. But he remembers things like if you offhandedly said you liked a movie or a certain type of music. They both remember little things, just... different little things.

If they get married, who proposes?

Time to break out the Momlander and Dad Noir AU (ft. nonbinary Homelander) Noir proposed. Homelander got pregante and Noir proposed a publicity wedding. It was meant to help keep Homelander's ratings up, as well as protect her reputation from the fact that she was having a baby out of wedlock.. It very much started off as a "fake relationship" thing.

2. What’s the wedding like? Who attends?

It's a very thrown-together affair, just something so there are photos for the news. They literally just wear their costumes and a bridal veil and tie. There were other members of the Seven, a few other big-name supes, and some Vought employees and and actors who filled out the world's strictest NDAs.

3. How many kids do they have, if any? What are they like?

Just Ryan, and he's... Ryan. He's a sweet kid who's a little shy. They've done their best to keep him out of the paparazzi, to the point where they actually do keep a house in the suburbs they retreat to. Neither parent enjoys going out in civvies, but Ryan is their precious perfect angel bab and they would do anything for him. 😔❤

4. Do they have any pets?

Ryan has an incredibly fancy aquarium when he's staying at the Tower. A gift from Uncle Kevin. He takes care of them when Ryan is off being a normal child. (The Homelander is not happy about this, but see question 3.)

5. Who’s the stricter parent?

Probably Homelander, simply because she... doesn't exactly know better. But she tries, and Noir manages to be a counterbalance to that so it generally works out okay.

6. Who worries the most?

They both worry 😭 Noir is worried that he's going to accidentally hurt Ryan--he barely held him at all at first--and Homelander is afraid that she'll screw him up. But again, their worries and strengths help balance the other one out, and things work out fine because it's my story and I said so :@

7. Who kills the bugs in the house?

Homelander would kill them, Noir would ignore them, but Ryan was very intent on the fact that they should take them outside, so lately, that's what they've been doing.

8. How do they celebrate holidays?

In addition to having their little suburban home, they've also got a cabin out in a more rural area, which is where they go to celebrate holidays, especially the ones involving fireworks.

9. Who’s more likely to convince the other to come back to sleep in the morning?

Oh they both do this. Noir was very sure to teach Ryan about Saturday Morning Cartoons so that they could get just a bit more sleep. :'(

Noir, but Homelander is learning.

I'm rewatching Shameless (US) from the start and all my good and bad feelings about the show keep resurfacing. It's somehow so real and yet ridiculous and insultingly messy.

Some early observations:

The reason I can never get invested in Jimmy/Steve is because he doesn't become a real boy. His backstory and storylines are a incomprehensible mess and he's essentially a cardboard cut-out next to Fiona— one of the most complicated characters in the show (all her love interests end up having this problem). However, he has his moments and the good actor is good.

Karen starts as a true character, and I freaking love her relationship with Sheila (Sheila 💜), but she quickly disintegrates into this misogynistic cautionary tale obviously written by someone wanting to punish promiscuous teenage girls.

Oh man, Ian and Mickey. These guys. They have such a roller-coaster yet to go, and idk, I'm both looking forward to the tragedy and eventual happy ending and not (😭). They're such kids at the start and I want them to be well, you know? They'll come to shoulder too much of the shows drama (when it was a drama). In the meantime they're getting carried away with being infatuated and so I get why Mickey risks his safety and Ian pushes, but it doesn't make it easier to watch knowing what will happen. It's so— like there is such a marked difference between the moment before, when Mickey is being a giddy 17-year-old slowly opening up, and then him being totally and completely traumatized. Also, I want to fight anyone who calls Mickey Ian's bully. In what world do they live in?

Ahh, Lip, he's frustrating but also damn believable. The intelligence that goes nowhere. The cocky teen arrogance, casual sexism and racism, the rise and fall... 😔

Something that keeps striking me this time around, actually, is how shameless the racism and sexism is. Often it showcases the reality of how these characters think and the disconnect between that and the truth, like saying "here is what everyday racism looks like", but it also feels like a reason for the writers to say something racist and sexist. It is the first hint at how careless this show will be with its subjects, themes, and comedy.

had a dream that feyre and rhys were having fertility issues and that they had to wait a century before nyx was conceived. they kept wishing for him during every starfall, and it took a hundred years before he finally came into their lives. i woke myself up bc i was crying in my sleep bro it was BAD

as much as i love nyx (our little prince of the night bless him) i guess this dream comes from the small part of me who still wishes that he wasn't born so early and in such a traumatizing way, and that his birth and conception should've happened in a different story from his parents' actual point of view 😭

Going straight to the deepest part of the seven hells for asking this one but I haven't seen anyone mention this and I'm curious 😭

How would fmbh lucemond react to a miscarriage?? I mean if it's in the earlier years/ after the wedding night (by some miracle misfortune) I feel like they'd lowkey celebrate regardless of who was carrying

But what would become of the relationship dynamic if it happened later down after they resolved some of the tension that's currently occurring in fmbh? Because man that marriage is kept together with hopes, dreams and the westrosi equivalents of ducktape and superglue

Ok, when I say that anything involving the loss of a child or infertility is a fav of mine to read simply because of the emotional turmoil that comes alongside it. It’s angsty, both parties are grieving, tears are shed…It’s a little weird but I own it lol. I’m actually surprised no one has asked before now tbh.

In their early years of marriage a miscarriage would be a saving grace for these two if they were left to deal with an unexpected pregnancy. Neither wants children with the other and their days are spent arguing to the point of major headaches. So a miscarriage is blessing in both men’s eyes. Be that as it may, it doesn’t mean losing this pregnancy wouldn’t come with its own set of problems. Despite being a relief a stupid miscarriage it’s still serious and does leave both dealing with a sense of loss for what could have been if things weren’t just so awful. Luke’s always wanted to be a parent, always imagined a gaggle of babes to love and care for; so as it’s happening the whole process feels like the future he’s looked forward to for so long is truly unobtainable. A final nail in the coffin of giving up his dreams you could say.

He’a grateful yes, but he mourns what could’ve been all the same. Even Aemond does what he can to try comforting Luke considering they’re on less than friendly terms. He’s relieved there’s no child to ruin with their antics but seeing all that blood, the tears his husband sheds and the pain he’s in hits him pretty hard. Neither would actually acknowledge anything with words, instead using actions to express apologies until Luke is back in better health. Their marriage would still be dog shit but it’s the first step in seeing one another as something more than “that man who ruined my life” someone capable of showing kindness and experiencing pain. However, once their parents are made aware this understanding does crumble a tiny bit since they’re still susceptible to adapting whatever their mother’s feel since these two are mama’s boys down to the core. Alicent and Rhaenyra would really do a disservice to this middle ground they’ve come to.

Later down the line is where things would really get heartbreaking. Both Luke and Aemond love each other fully, they want a child and crave that connection, so a miscarriage would be awfully traumatic. For Luke it would affirm every insecurity and fear he’s been battling on his own since he became aware of his “fleeting youth”. Certain it’s a sign that he’s waited too long to finally have a child from his own body. That he’ll never get to experience motherhood in the way he desires most. Coming to point in his loss where he takes a lot of that anger out on Aemond as in his grief striken mind, if his uncle could’ve just outright came to Luke sober and confessed his feelings rather than getting drunk and fucking him before leaving in the night for years on end, then maybe they would’ve had a child years ago. Maybe none of this would’ve ever happened.

Aemond takes it because he knows his husband is in pain as he’s dying on the inside as well. But a part of him being the man he is takes the blame and agrees. Blaming his lack of emotional vulnerability and fear of rejection for why they waited so long and hence, the miscarriage which they automatically assume happened because Luke is “too old”

This would kinda set them back to their old ways, though instead Luke would be the one instigating while Aemond takes the jabs without retaliating. Both would fall into a serious depression pretty quickly, something that wouldn’t be made any easier as both sides of their family would quickly take to blaming the other.

They’ll eventually heal, but that comes after about a year or two of no longer sleeping in the same bed and crying every time they allow their memories to trail back towards that day. Though I can see Aemond offering to carry their next child if Luke’s up for trying again despite being nearly fifty. He still bleeds so the possibility is there.

Luke knows how much his husband still struggles with self-image so offering to carry their child would def bring forth some tears.

I saw this post about how Would've, could've, should've by Taylor Swift, is definitely a Darlin and Quinn song, and i agree.

If we assume that darlin is around the wolf boys age (so around 29/30), this means they moved to Dahlia when they were around 14 (in 2007) which meant that they would have found it hard to fit in with people who have already know each other since they were little kids. This may have led to them being isolated and believing it was them against the world. Who else do we assume had the same thoughts?

Quinn.

So on the timeline, it says that in 2020, Darlin and Quinn had a 'dalliance', but we don't know how long it happened for, but we know it ended in 2020. This would have made Darlin around 27 when their friend had gotten attacked by Quinn, which led to Darlin reporting him to DUMP. This is where the lyrics

Talking about how Quinn helped Darlin feel as though they finally belonged somewhere and saved them from feeling isolated and bored from their own pack. Darlin finally felt important to someone, which is something they never felt with the pack. It was a foreign feeling to them, and Quinn took advantage of it.

And the God's honest truth is that the pain was heaven"

Although we don't know what age Darlin was when they met Quinn, we can assume it was around their early 20s, which is still quite young. They craved attention from someone, and they wanted to feel as if they mattered even if it was in an unhealthy and toxic way. They simply didn't care because they were just happy someone actually cared for them.

"And now that I'm grown, I'm scared of ghosts

And now that I know, I wish you'd left me wondering"

I think we can all agree that Darlin went through some traumatic shit when they were with Quinn, and stuff like that doesn't just disappear. It comes back and haunts people. Traumatic memories of Quinn must be floating in Darlins mind, which is why they were always guarded and cold towards people who they didn't trust because they didn't want to go through it again.

Throughout the song, the blame is passed between both parties. But we can clearly see from Darlins "revenge mission" that yes, they blame Quinn, but they also blame themselves for everything. Especially the attack on their friend. Hearing David talk about how Quinn will go for those who can't defend themselves must make Darlin so angry as they already know this and have witnessed. They probably still have scars from it to remind them.

I would analyse the rest of the song, but this is long enough, and I do not have enough time to talk about the confrontation video between Darlin and David because OOOOOOO DO I HAVE THOUGHTS ABOUT THAT.

I love Darlin as a character so much and how complex they are.

That’s honestly so true about professors. My chemistry one, the guy who gave me a zero, is a complete asshole. It’s safe to say that my evaluation of him will be a long and hefty one. Jon is honestly the goat, im sad that I’m only going to have him for one more semester. although I will be glad that I won’t have to worry about an embarrassing picture of me making it into the slides 😭 4 finals isn’t too bad, and I don’t think any of them are on the same day. At least I hope not. I’m honestly the worst when it comes to studying, but I plan to use tomorrow as a study day, so don’t worry! And to make you proud, I finished my article review paper tonight and turned it in, instead of waiting until tomorrow to do it, which is when it’s due! It was supposed to be 4 pages, but it turned out to be 6 😬

Not Sam losing his 2 other balls! I got Butters 6 tennis balls a couple months ago, and now he only has 2 left 😭 Butters has been a handful today; first he came in from playing in the backyard with a small abrasion on his head which I had to clean it, and now he’s gotten welts around his mouth and on his nose. It looks like he had an allergic reaction to something, but I’m making him sleep in my room so I can keep an eye on him. My two boy animals have caused so much trouble 😭

Sorry but just had a fic idea I think you'd appreciate.

Long story short, its when Bruce & the boys were on their holiday, Steph comes back to Gotham and surprises Slade before he can kidnap Cass letting them bail.

Bruce and the boys come back early & Leslie's 'faked' autopsy report and such come to light and while Cass (Who is more feeling something is sus than angry) & especially Tim have some complicate feelings them seem OK with things going back to normal.

But Batman kidnapped Green Arrow, so of course he'll want to do tests. Stephanie seems to avoid being alone with him under any circumstances though and he does recall her being able to sneak up on him so sneaking up on her is hard without a fight.

So, cos Alfred's softened on her a bit and she's willing to take food from her... Well she ends up drugged and knocked out as it wasn't taking its full effects. Cue Bruce's invasive medical inspections starting and stopping not long after.

Cos one, Steph's body is just a mass of scar tissue, ruined nerve endings and flayed muscles, Its a miracle she can move without screaming let alone fight as well as she can. Two, he's quick to find the autopsy scars; cos it turns out she did die, but Leslie put her on ice once she was no longer having a breakdown, injected venom into her brain later and basically went, as Steph or Jason would say "Dr Frankenstein on my insides."

Cue Bruce kind of having a breakdown in various different ways and Steph also being violently angry in a "Who gave that bastard the right!?" kind of way. Not sure after that.

Ohhhh myyyy goddddd 😭 Leslie resurrecting Steph through science, Steph showing up to save Cass like nobody was able to do for her, something wrong with Steph/what Leslie did to her as they feel the need to hide it... Like, say, what are Venom's side-effects, huh?

Or do they want to keep it hush hush bc they're afraid of the shady government organization?

Or is it her being de-anoned after her death, with the memorial service and all that plot, makes her want to keep some control over what over people know about her? Or she's just - the process of coming back was so traumatic that she literally blocks it all out, even came up with a story of helping Leslie in Africa? And, like, she believes it herself.

Or maybe Bruce just doesn't deserve to know it. And he proves it, by using Stephanie's trust to Alfred to drug her and basically vivisect her.

Just, remind me, was that before Jason's comeback or after, I am bad with timelines. But inserting Red Hood into this plot - like maybe he is the one who helps Steph to sneak out of the Bat-lab. "From one undead creature to another".

Or should it be Cass? It took her time, but she finally accepted that she doesn't care how Steph is back, the most important thing she's back.

There's like. So much that you can do with this!!!
