Fallout Whale?
I’d like to think this ghoul whale isn’t necessarily aggressive. It developed an extremely corrosive stomach acid to break down the trash and bones scattered across the ocean as a normal whale’s food source would be pretty much extinct other than the odd mirelurk here or there. And with such an abundant food source it wouldn’t be aggressive to anyone swimming around the ocean. Sure it might think boats are a tasty snack and might take a bite out of the hull but that would be about it. I believe the ghoul whale would develop sharp teeth to break apart trash, metal, rubber, concrete, the whole nine yards to help digest it better. Helps tons with cleaning the ocean and it can like in peace. Ghoul whales would also be solitary unless they’re caring for their young. A whale needs a lot of food and forming packs with other whales diminishes the food source a lot quicker.
Ghouls whales most likely developed arms and legs to walk on the surface again. They wouldn’t be very good at walking as they’re more adapted for water but in case food is scarce they can go on land to eat. Ghoul whales also have a very low cry that is difficult but not impossible to hear. They are also gigantic. Ghoul whales reside very deep below the surface and only come up for air or if their food source is low. It’s not difficult to say they would around 50~60 ft. Which is more than twice the size of both a mirelurk queen and a fog crawler. Huge creatures like that use a lot of energy and walking on the surface would be extremely difficult for said whale.
Now as for the name I’m not sure I like “Ghoul Whale”. It’s a tad uncreative and there are a fair share of ghoulified animals that don’t go by “ghoul dog” or “ghoul deer”. And I know there’s a ghoul Yao Guai but I digress, I believe there should be a better name. So I propose the name Sea Drifter! It’s similar to the names of Mirelurks or Fog Crawlers because of how literal the name is and I think it matches the more docile nature a sea drifter would have.
If you make any art or have anything to add on please feel free to tag me or reblog this post! I’d love to see what you do!

We are not following a vault dweller, like the games. Instead we are following a Pre-War Ghoul where we will see them before the bombs dropped in futuristic alternate history Sci fi, and after the bombs dropped as he becomes a ghoul. Our lead hero is Walton Goggins[Justified] who we will see the world through his eyes. The show is set in Los Angeles, known as "The Boneyard" in Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas. 80% of the budget went to prosthetics, makeup, built Sets, built heavy costumes/weapons, real interactive things for the actors, while the remaining 20% went to the cgi to enhance what couldn't be done real like deathclaws, mutants and other creatures in the Fallout Universe. Johnathon Nolan is a massive fan of Fallout 1, 2, New Vegas and 3 and said there will be references to the games such as the NCR, the events of the first two games, the Securitrons from New Vegas, and many more. odd Howard, Pete Hines from Bethesda and the original game developers working at Obsedian Entertainment were heavily involved in the TV series production and gave them a blueprint of what's allowed and not for the cannon and lore of the franchise and gave them free Reign to go creative.

What would fae!dick and Bruce's relationship be like? Would they fight, woild they be loyal to a fault, would they even separate? Faes do love living in one place after all
Hmmm, well if we go with the option of Dick growing up mostly in the human world being more accustomed to attaching himself to people rather than a place I’d reckon him and Bruce would end up growing quite close.
Of course, the manor becomes Dick’s permanent home and reacts to the presence of an other being rather quickly, but at the core of it? I think Dick would use Bruce and Alfred as his anchor, with Jason and Tim and all the others joining over time.
And loyalty… well, the creatures I grew up with were never divided into good or evil. They were very versatile, much like humans. One could be kind and sweet in one story only to turn monstrous in the next, usually dependent on how they’d been treated by the human of the story. Dick is kind and loyal by nature and I headcanon he only shows his more “monstrous” side when he’s truly irked or feels he’s been wronged in some way (which is… a very subjective thing for fae).
Bruce offered Dick a home and a family, both things that certain type of other creatures value very much and consider sacrosanct. It may not win him over right away, but it goes a long way in building that fundamental trust that’s gonna end with Batman and Robin roaming the streets as a team.
On Bruce’s part… most things he does that are considered “gift giving” and “offers of kinship” are accidental. Because, well, he’s not fae. And he’s new to this child-parent thing and is totally winging it but it??? Seems to work ok???? And he finds that bribing Dick with food and old trinkets makes the boy more approachable, so that’s what he keeps doing until Dick starts coming to him on his own, without additional prompting.
Bruce is super happy because he thinks he’s doing this parenting stuff right and his son ward is warming up to him.
Dick is grudgingly charmed into accepting Bruce and Alfred as “his” humans. (It’s really hard to stay cold and distant with all the good food. And Dick may be fae but he’s been around humans all his life. He gets lonely embarrassingly easy. And he thrives and hugs.)
Sheesh ok getting off topic again. To sum it all up: I think their bond would be pretty strong and not easily broken. There’s mutual trust going on, but Bruce would have to learn to make compromises with Dick very early due to his… otherness. All those strict rules wouldn’t go over well with a fae. at all. Especially not if Dick found out who got his parents killed.
Consequently I think the monumental fallout that ends with Dick moving to Blüdhaven wouldn’t happen. At least not in its original severity. Mostly because Bruce had to get accustomed to Dick having a strong mind of his own years ago, and because he found out that being “rude and downright disrespectful” is an easy way to have a murder of crows with a suspicious number of eyes and wings chase you around for weeks on end. (Not to mention the deer incident. Bruce swears deer should NOT have that many rows of teeth.)
So yeah, they still argue. They still fight. But it’s usually just small spats and gets resolved rather quickly. ✨ and now that Dick’s finally settled down? Yup. Sorry. That’s HIS stretch of land now. He’s got his magic sunk into the very roots of it. Thank you and good day. And may the gods help anyone who tries to take it OR his humans away from him. 🌳

Let’s talk Limbus Company!
Something I recently noticed is that Limbus Company’s Abnormality numbering system is slightly different from that of Lobotomy Corporation. Whereas L Corp. used one letter and two numbers, the Company threw in an additional number to the set that throws everything slightly off. Additionally, there’s a few extra variations we see in Limbus that we don’t in Lobotomy, so without further adieu, here’s what I think the different parts of Limbus Company’s Abnormality designations mean, gathered from what we already know and have theorized about L Corp’s system:
Letter — Denotes the Abnormality’s origin as one of the following:
• Original — Spawned from nothing but the thoughts and desires of the Dreamer and therefore the purest type of Abnormality
• Trauma — Spawned as the fallout of the Dreamer’s grievances with the City
• Fairytale — Based on literature or folklore, generally originating from outside the City
• Myth — Based on artifacts and ideas discovered from the days before the City, but could also be exclusively religious in nature (it is difficult to tell given we currently only have three known examples to go off)
• Sin — Spawned from one of the seven sin resonances, so far only consisting of Peccatulae
• Donator — Granted to L Corp. from an outside source
First Number — Denotes the shape of the Abnormality as follows:
1 - Humanoid Organism
2 - Non-Humanoid Organism
3 - Supernatural Being
4 - Object without Moving Parts
5 - Object with Moving Parts
6 - Undefined
7 - Breaching Tool
8 - Peccatulum
9 - Standard Tool
Second Number — Denotes the District in which the Abnormality was first encountered by Limbus Company.
Third Number — Unique identification number given to each Abnormality within a District.
So, for a few examples as proof of this theory’s validity:
S-08-04-01, Peccatulum Gulae, is a Peccatulum (Automatically making it S-08) and the first Abnormality we meet in the game’s first dungeon in District 4 (Making the last two numbers 04-01).
M-04-04-05, Doomsday Calendar, is based on the stone calendars created by Mesoamerican cultures of the real world (M-04). It is the fifth Abnormality encountered in District 4 (04-05). Also, from now on, I won’t be bothering with the third number because it is somewhat arbitrary.
T-04-10-05, Have You Become Strong, takes the form of a large, plastic freight container and can be presumed from its combat event to be formed from a dreamer who was involved in or witnessed some kind of industrial accident (T-04). It is found in District 10 (10-05).
F-05-10-18, Baba Yaga, is based on a Russian folk character, a witch known as… Baba Yaga (F). Specifically, it is based on the hut that the witch lived in that walked about on fowl’s legs (05). It is found in District 10 aaand you get the idea.
Now, the weird one that kind of threw a wrench in this entire thing initially was F-04-03-04, Ebony Queen’s Apple. This Abnormality is an Aberration of Snow White’s Apple from Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina, automatically making it a Fairytale-type due to its association with the popular children’s story. Though some might argue it should be considered a humanoid or non-humanoid organism, this apple has already fallen from its tree and is therefore more in the inanimate object category, making its first number 04. Make sense so far? Of course it does. The strange thing about this Abno is that, despite making its debut appearance in District 4, its second number is 03. So, why is this?
There are two possible theories. One is that the Abnormality is not one of a kind, and that a previous team from Limbus also sighted the exact same creature in District 3, which opens up an entire can of worms about the uniqueness of Abnos. The second is that, shortly before the fall of L Corp, the Ebony Queen’s Apple was transferred from a Branch in District 3 over to the one Yuri worked at, which ALSO has weird implications.
Anyway, I’ve rambled on way too long about this, now. I don’t really have a good way of ending this post, so I guess I’ll just say that Limbus is still a relatively new game, and I’ll be making sure to check how future Abnormalities fair in this classification system.
Ciao!

Honestly, I think Matt and Tal must have had a conversation after the last episode.
At that point, Matt was saying Ashton was an unprecedented creature, possibly making plans of what holding both shards would look like. The tone till that point had been, “dangerous , but possible.” Seems like something changed, and Tal didn’t seem surprised about Ashton coughing up the shard.
Which makes sense. If I, as a player, had misread the signs to that extent (which I absolutely have, though not with this kind of consequence) I would be incredibly grateful for the chance to reset, walk backwards, reopen the doors the DM had originally wanted to explore.
I’m imagining the Hells dealing with the emotional fallout of all this with a powerful Ashton instead of a vulnerable and weakened one. An Ashton that they can’t afford to let leave the group. And Ashton would’ve ultimately been justified for what they did, and that would’ve been so much worse for the character relationships all around.
So I think- at least I hope- there was out of game discussion leading up to this.

My too long theory post about Mae as Reverse Caesar? This is multiple theories, really...
My theories on Mae's origins have ranged from her just being a lone smart girl among feral humans, to her coming from an underground civilization living in a bunker (My personal favorite. I like Fallout, lol).
Here's one that came to mind recently. It's not my main theory for her, (I still think she's just from some colony of smart humans) but it's my most "creative" and "crazy" one, but if people are allowed their crazy astronaut theories, THEN I'M ALLOWED THIS ONE 🤪
I'm gonna be calling her Mae/Nova for this.
Feel free to poke holes in this theory by the way, hehe.
This theory came to me after watching the new trailer, where we hear her being called "Nova," and we also get a shot of her riding on horseback with Raka. It reminded me a lot of Nova from War riding with Maurice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I thought, 'Huh, we're getting another blonde girl named Nova riding on horseback with an orangutan in the exact same way. It almost looks like the characters and plot for KOTPOTA could be a reworked version of what a plot could look like for a direct War sequel following a grown up Cornelius with Nova and Maurice and ohhhhhh-'
*puts on tinfoil hat* So my weird train of thought led me to this wacky theory: Mae/Nova is a human that was taken in by Raka as a child, and he has been raising and taking care of her. Just like Maurice did for Nova. She's kinda like Tarzan.
At first I had thought Raka met Mae/Nova because she was separated from her human colony and he was helping her get back home before they ran into Noa.
I also thought that maybe they come from a place where humans and apes already coexist, and I honestly still think either of these is the case tbh, but this part of a recent article made me think otherwise.
Tumblr media
The "rabbit-in-headlights" bit makes me doubt she comes from a place where there are intelligent humans. (It's still possible she could be. I'll get to that later). To me this sounds like she's smarter, but still has some "animal" behaviors.
As for why Raka took her in, it can totally just be coincidence that we have another friendly orangutan who adopted a young girl.
Or maybe it became some sort of, ehh, tradition? Him wearing a necklace with Caesar's symbol and talking about how apes and humans used to live side by side makes him sound like a religious person. Maybe somewhere along the line, it became custom for those who follow his faith to "adopt a Nova" to raise and take care of, like Maurice did.
There is a difference, though. Raka could have been taking care of Mae/Nova, but he still sees her as an...well, an animal. A very smart animal that he feels a responsibility towards. I know him viewing her as an animal sounds pretty harsh, but keep in mind that humans have regressed to be like animals at this point.
And there's also this scene where he just....tosses her some food. It's no different from the way humans toss a friendly animal some food, really.
Tumblr media
"But why does she seem frightened by the apes at the fireplace if she's been raised by Raka?"
I think she's scared of Noa here.
Orangutans are actually solitary creatures (I googled, lol), so it's very possible that it's just been her and Raka, and any newcomer makes her nervous.
Tumblr media
Ok ok ok, so he's a guy who has taken in an animal that shows signs of intelligence and has taken it upon himself to nurture and care for this animal because his personal beliefs tell him that in doing so, he could potentially make the world a better place.
Like Will did with Caesar.
Tumblr media
"So she's reverse Caesar." Yeah. That's pretty much what I've been trying to get at with all my rambling. Yay, parallels!
And we know Will cared for Caesar, but he always saw him as an animal. A very smart animal, but an animal nonetheless. He had him on a leash, and as much as he didn't want to, he still took him to the primate shelter. It wasn't Will being cruel, he just treated Caesar the way any human would have treated an animal, no matter how close they are.
Of course, like Caesar, Mae/Nova is gonna go through some changes. She's a young girl growing into adulthood. She'll have "needs and wants," as this article states.
Tumblr media
Those needs and wants could be many things. To be regarded as equal. No longer wanting to feel inferior. And if she truly is some lone smart girl among a world of feral humans, she's also gonna feel really really lonely. (Think about it. If she does not come from a colony of smart humans and she truly is the only one, that's tragic. I'd be depressed, man).
So she'll also want friendship and companionship. To have a friend or anyone she can relate with. She'll most likely find this with Noa, since the article says, "...there are far more parallels and commonalities between the two of them than they might have originally imagined."
Okay, one question came to mind when coming up with this theory.
Why is she smarter than other humans? I got a few theories.
Theory 1. She could still be someone who grew up in a colony of intelligent humans, whether it be a colony in an underground bunker or anywhere else. It doesn't matter. But something terrible may have happened, like her colony was killed off, or she was separated from them as a little girl. Then Raka found her and took her in. Like Tarzan!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Theory 2. This one and the third one won't be as satisfying to fans, I assume. But maybe Raka noticed a lone child that was smarter than most, and he decided to take her in and help her intelligence grow.
Theory 3. She started off as an unintelligent feral girl, but being raised by an ape allowed her to slowly gain her intelligence back. I actually like this one. For starters, it's similar to the Planet of the Apes novel from 1963, where one of the astronauts became feral and unintelligent because of spending too much time in a cage with feral humans at a zoo, and Nova actually gained the ability to speak and became intelligent after spending a year or two in space with Ulysse, the protagonist.
Theory 4. She's like Megamind where she was launched into space from an alien planet as a baby while her homeworld burned all around her and she crash landed onto Earth. THERE'S YOUR ASTRONAUT THEORY.
Tumblr media
I'm kidding. That was a joke. I know April Fool's was two days ago.
As for her name, we've gotten three so far. Mae, Nova, and Echo. I like to think of her name as a sort of symbol or indicator of her character growth, where I assume she'll gain the ability to speak at the end, or will have grown into herself as a person.
She'll start off as Nova. A common generic name given to all humans, given to her by Raka.
Then Echo. A more unique name given to her by Noa, but still not her own.
Then, finally, Mae. Her true unique name that she was either born with, or she picks out for herself.
Aaaaand I think that's it. I'm done. I know that was long, but I wanted to gather all of my thoughts and theories on Mae/Nova somewhere before I watch the movie in a month. Whatever her story is, I cannot wait to see it unfold. Now it's time for me to SLEEP.

I just wanna say that Dane kinda has something going on for Maximus. I dunno if fallout will be have the balls to put more subtext on the relationship, but the scene in the vertibird... Dane just staring at Max. I kinda like Max and Lucy too as a pair. They should also let Aaron smile more so people can see how cute the pair is.
Max and Lucy as a ship is vanilla coded so I guess that's why people ain't shipping it so much... I think shippers want yearning over the certainty of a relationship, which is so infectious in other medias.
Interesting take anon! I kinda felt like it was the opposite for me. Like maximus viewed Dane much more strongly and thus was super jealous. Whereas Dane kinda underestimated maximus, but admired his passion. Also i think the brotherhood in general is super toxic and not really supporting of any true relationships.
I don't really ship them bc there wasn't as much screentime but I could see the vision. Ultimately though I think people aren't shipping Lucy and maximus because of not just the vanilla thing but because they're not both white. It's easier to ship an (originally white) ugly monster type creature with a white woman for some people than it is to consider a black person as an object of affection. I'm not trying to call anyone out but I've seen this time and time again with so many interracial ships. Like sydcarmy, richonne, even in the movie Prey more people were horny for the predator over Taabe, a very attractive indigenous man.
There also was yearning between Lucy and Max, they both had immense chemistry before finally kissing. I also don't see Lucy being attracted to the Ghoul (lots of people downplay women's attraction to men in irl relationships even so this isn't surprising) I think ppl prefer enemies to lovers and that's fine and all but I still think there's a subconscious form of racism going on lol. Also yes Aaron has the sweetest smile ever <3

💛💙SPIRK FIC REC💙💛
This fic by the superbly talented @jennelikejennay is an excellent companion to the TOS episode 'Obsession' (S2E13).
It shows us the immediate fallout from the cloud creature attack on the USS Farragut which resulted in the deaths of half the crew. Specifically, we see the effect on Jim Kirk, who blames himself for not stopping it.
Staffed by a traumatised crew, as well as a few officers borrowed from the USS Enterprise, they begin their long journey as they limp back towards Earth.
Spock knows that Jim is struggling, and he feels strangely drawn to him, to protect him, but he is in temporary command of the Farragut and the chain of command and his duty must come first.
A beautifully told story of love and trauma. It also includes an original Vulcan ritual that has since cropped up in subsequent fics and I absolutely adore it! Definitely worth a read! 🥰

Spark's Art Commissions
Commisions are: OPEN
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What I Draw
All Fallout, all the time. I've played every Fallout in existence (except that Tactics/BoS bullshit) and I love them all - yes, even 76. Fair warning: I'm less well-versed in Fallout 1 & 2, what with it having been a couple decades since I played either.
Interested in non-Fallout art? Doesn't hurt to ask.
Who I Draw
Your Fallout OCs and fave companions. As long as it's a character I can find enough reference for online, I'm good.
Looking for more examples of my work? Here they are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Prices
Tumblr media
More details on what I will and won't draw, what I need from you, and other details below the cut.
Payment is currently only available through PayPal. I'm looking into other payment options, such as Ko-Fi.
What I need from you
your faceclaim(s). If they're not someone I can easily google, I will need a few clear photos from different angles. Don't have a faceclaim for your OC yet? This is a great place to start looking
in-game screenshots are sometimes useful, so include those as well if they look anything like your OC. I will always prefer real human reference though, so please give me a faceclaim!
basic details: height, build, age, hair color/texture/style, eye color, identifying marks, etc etc etc. For companions, give me your headcanons on any details not provided in-game (or if you headcanon something differently), or I'll use my own if you don't have any
what outfit(s) they wear. If it's vanilla/Creation Club/Atomic Shop, just the in-game outfit names will usually do (i'll tell you if I need more)
any personality traits, background info, or quirks you want to share are absolutely GREAT and help me breathe a little more life into a character
if I'm drawing them with a companion, tell me a little about their dynamic
Will draw:
your Fallout OCs
their companion(s) (including ghouls)
weapons
some blood/gore/injury
sfw romantic content
Difficult areas:
curly hair - I'm trying, I'm learning, but it's harder and might take me longer
Super Mutants - haven't tried yet, but it can't be that hard
artistic nudity/pinups: I'm really out of practice, I make no guarantees
Won't draw:
anything racist/queerphobic/transphobic/bigoted/etc
minors
backgrounds. There's a reason this is a serparate, specialized job in animation and comic studios
nsfw romantic/sexual content (I don't have a problem with it, it's just way outside my wheelhouse. I'm learning.)
excessive blood/gore/injury (again, outside my wheelhouse)
creatures (same reason)
IMPORTANT LEGAL STUFF
What you get
high-resolution digital art in PNG format (A4 at 200dpi for busts, A3 at 200dpi for half body and up, suitable for printing for personal use only)

Okay forget about the zombies.
What’re your thoughts on ghouls?
Like the flesh eating demons originating in Arabian folklore or the fallout creatures because both are fun in fiction but probably don’t exist in the real world or at least I’ve never met one and honestly I don’t want to. They can have their own space.

D&D Character Asks - Gan
1. What influenced or inspired the creation of this character?
They were originally created in the Dragon Age universe as a cousin to my HoF, Briva Tabris. I wanted my Tabris to have some family for post DAO and decided on a cousin that would travel with her (since I didn't want Shianni or Soris to fill that role). I've brought them over to BG3 now (which I'm basing these asks off of) because they weren't tied to another central story and they are my evil/morally dubious character for RPing those things.
5. What creature would they like to have as a pet?
A ferret - I've made their love of ferrets carry over to multiple universes where I've used them (Dragon Age, Fallout New Vegas, Wasteland 3, Baldur's Gate 3). Why I chose ferrets, I couldn't tell you but I think they are adorable lol
7. Is there anyone they’d die for? Kill for?
Die for? Absolutely not. Let's get one thing clear, Gan dies for no one. Kill for though? A handful of folks - Astarion, Minthara, Shadowheart, Étoile (@omgkalyppso OC), Ixbalam (@meishuu OC), Penelope (@bhaalbaaby OC), and their family if they ever decided to get over their self imposed exile from them.
8. Who was their first love?
A femme elf I wrote about in this post
9. How would this character react to someone confessing their love for them?
So it depends on the circumstances but if we're talking about the normal one of someone they're involved with, it still depends LOL.
If it's a situation where they weren't expecting it because they had completely different ideas of what they had with the other person, they would listen and gauge whether or not they needed to say those words back to them. If they can get by without having to say them and just react kind of similarly through action to keep the person from being brokenhearted they will do that instead.
If they are kind of expecting it and they feel a bit like the other person, they will verbally express caring about the person but not love.
A confession of your love for them does not guarantee they will be confessing love for you. Only when they are ready will love be expressed 🤷🏾‍♀️
10. How old is this character?
Gan is 138 at the start of Baldur's Gate 3
18. What is their favorite spell or method of attack?
Method of attack - melee sneak attack with daggers coated in a paralytic poison
General spell - Disguise Self
Spell in combat - Greater Invisibility

Hi! I'm sorry to ask but would you consider expanding a little on why you think Hazbin Hotel wasn't good/wasn't handled well? I have no attachment to it nor do I mean to defend it by asking this, I just stumbled upon the show last night and watched it with no prior knowledge of anything related to it, all in one (extremely sleep-deprived) sitting and enjoyed it. I don't mean you ought to justify your opinion or anything of the sort, I'm genuinely curious on what you think was a miss! Thank you for your time and feel free to ignore this if you don't feel like explaining🌼
HI! Don't be sorry, most any question is worth asking and being answered. I'll gladly expand.
*MAJOR WARNINGS FOR SPOILERS*
PLEASE EXCUSE ANY TYPOS I'M SLEEPY
-----
I want to start this with saying that I've been aware of and invested in Hazbin Hotel since it came out in 2019. I even have some merch a friend got for me way back when. I spent all of highschool watching the pilot every few months. So I'm not someone that just hates it, I'm just a long time fan that has been super, super disappointed. (Also, I find a lot of other people's reasons for hating it to be dumb. Such as the cursing or sex jokes, because plenty of other adult animations have the same thing and are considered good shows.)
I'm gonna break this down into two lists of a few things I liked and a few I didn't like. It's not everything, but it's the "big ones".
Liked:
1. The songs
No complaint other than they often started awkwardly in the middle of dialouges making it feel choppy and disconnected. Good songs though. Though I kinda disliked the way they were handled in episode 8.
2. The idea
It's a decent idea. It's fun. The story simply is just not committed to said idea. It feels like a first draft. Like the creator was too attached to the very first and original ideas and was not willing to build upon it and cull anything to actually take it to where it needed to go.
Disliked:
1. Pacing/Writing
To be blunt. The pacing is absolute shit. Eight 20-something minute episodes is not enough time to tell everything they were attempting to tell. Especially not with two songs per episode. Everything was rushed, events happening too close together. Even the timeline had huge holes in it and character development was watered down to the "big" moments. I get it, they had limitations, but they could have adapted better. They did fine with the first few episodes. Introducing Adam and the Overlords and getting Sir Pentious into the hotel.
But then they went straight into the fourth episode with a heavy hitter. They revealed the full extent of Angeldust's situation far too quickly. Not enough suspense. Then they went straight into Lucifer's introduction and Alastors sudden "affection". Again, the suspense of Lucifer, Charlie's big, bad, dad being revealed wasn't pushed far enough. It wasn't interesting. And Alastor's "affection" came out of left field. There was no hints to it, no character development, it just happened. And then yep, Lucifer, who hasn't done shit this whole time, just gets her that meeting.
BORING. So boring. That meeting shouldn't have happened till season two. There's no buildup, everything just happens. No character development, no nothing. Even Vaggie's reveal as a Exterminator happens in a single episode. There was no hints to it, and no suspense (yes again that word), and there was no emotional fallout. It should have been dragged out, a constant threat over Vaggie. Even the deaths are bad. The character weren't enough of a character to feel anything for when they died. And their death's were quick and boring. Cheap. Like seriously Pentious died in a single lil tap? Seriously?
(Razzle and Dazzle's names aren't even revealed to the fifth episode? I don't don't even think Kiki's was. They were just background "companion" characters. Like the forest creatures in Disney's Snow White. They aren't important to the story AT ALL. Literally barely more than background characters.)
AND THE FINALE!? It was just bad. So bad. There was, once again, no suspense and build up. There was no emotional vulnerability. It was just kinda sucky jokes and lackluster fights. The only part of the finale I liked was the Vee's fynny side commentary and the result of Alastor and Adam's fight.
The writing on its own it's- Well, it's bad. It swings back and forth between musical, adult comedy, and serious. Which would be more okay, if it was a smooth swing. But it isn't. It's choppy and stitched together. Full of one liners that could make a decent tiktok video sound or something. The dialogue is choppy and bland for every character. They all hold the same tone. They're all flat and to similar. Sure they're unique but they fade into eachother.
It feels like the script was worked on by 100 different people that didn't even email eachother. Or a disord mass roleplay that wasn't edited very well before being turned into a wattpad fic.
It has no strong structure. It's hollow like a house of cards and collapses on itself with one touch.
And the characters themselves are inconsistent. They don't stick to a characterization and all make the same type of dumb ass jokes or are the butt of the joke.
As a whole it just lacks:
1) Forshadowing and suspense
2) Emotional connection (between the character or with the audiences) and emotional fallout
3) Filler, fluff, a way to care about the characters past the serve archetype level
4) Character development
5) Consequences and stakes
6) Personal motives for the characters
7) Interesting conflict
8) Consistency
9) Balance between plot and subplots
10) Duality of characters
2. Worldbuilding
It contradicts itself. And most of the lore isn't really clear in the show itself, making fans rely on it being confirmed by the creators. Also, it's just... well boring. I might just be overly obsessed with angels and demons and biblical imagery, but Hazbin Hotel kinda makes them... lame.
There are so many "figures" in angelology and demonology that they just don't utilize. They do much better with it in Helluva Boss, and I would expect that dedication to the bit (for lack of a better word) to be carried into Hazbin Hotel considering I assume they have much more time, resources, and budget.
(Like why is it Adam and Saint Peter of all guys. Where's Michael, Gabriel, Raphael? Literally any actual angel!!! Hell (pun not intended), what about the Four Horsemen. You don't even need to study angelology, just read the Book of Revelation. Or even take a jab at the 7 Capitol Virtues.)
Also as I said before, it contradicts itself. And not in a clever way that's supposed to be a nod at some hidden secret, it's just bad worldbuilding. Like, are they really going with the "all humans come from one set of testes and ovaries"? Really? And if Adam was human, then died, why is he an angel? Like bleeds gold, calls others mortals, the whole shebang. It's just bad. And Lilith is supposedly basically the "og sinner", but she could have a kid? I could go on and on and on and on and still not be able to cover all the issues I see in this area.
Honestly it feels like the show relies too heavily on its audience simply not caring.
3. Character design
Bad. Just bad.
The "rules" the character designs "follow" are too broad and loose. They need to be stricter and have boundaries in which to design between. The characters all look like they are ocs from three different creators shoved into the same story.
They also just lack research. None of the characters 'match' they're backstories or supposed animal inspiration. They also all have basically the same body type. Which is boring. Not to mention that the characters that are supposedly poc have no poc features. At all.
And the color pallets are garish and hold no cohesion. The designs are just off the wall random. Why is Alastor red (pink???)? Why is Husk a cat-owl-deck of cards? Why is Nifty two feet tall and one eyed?! Why is Pentious a snake with an alive hat? And Lucifer and Charlie are just boring. Though Lucifer is probably the best design. (Saint Peter is the worst and it is driving me crazy. WHY IS HE A WHITE, BLONDE HAIRED, BLUE EYED ANGEL!?!)
And what does Vivziepop have against ears? Why does no one have ears except Alastor and the other more animal characters? They have earrings, but no ears. It's just so bad. The ears alone could fix so many of the designs to be more palatable.
(One suggestion for a design rule. One I tend to follow within my own hell and heaven lore, is using the different 7 Deadly Sins and 7 Capitol Virtues. Like an example, whatever sin got A into hell is what A is designed after. Like all sinners in hell for Envy share similarities that sinners in hell for Greed don't have. And like this can over lap obviously, but there's a central sin there designed under. And the same for those that go to heaven under the virtues. Would also solve the whole "what gets you into heaven or hell" plot hole).
Anyway yeah I'm getting tired (and getting weirdly angry, lmao) so I'm gonna end here.
I know I didn't cover everything I wanted to but this is getting ridiculously long. If anyone has any specific questions send in an ask.
P.S. My biggest pet peeve is that they didn't give Lucifer an actual "dangerous scary" side. Or even a "deranged losing" it side. He's an angel thats been isolated in hell since literally forever. He should be unstable in a way that isn't JUST being depressed in his room and awkward around his daughter. Also the fact that Charlie is literally half angel is just glossed over?!  LIKE COME ON PEOPLE, YOU'RE SITTING ON A GOLD MINE OF UNTAPPED POTENTIAL.
Anyway might just write my own story with the same plot, who knows...

As they are not feral creatures,[2] the glowing ones of Vault 12 are mentally ill elderly people. They require water, and without the Vault's water processing functionality, they will die.[2] They will not attack the Vault Dweller unless the player assaults them or removes Vault 12's water chip. In both scenarios, the glowing ones act in self-defense against someone who has entered their home and attempted to murder them. There are no other encounters with glowing ones in the original Fallout. All glowing ones in Fallout 2 are civilians living at Gecko or Broken Hills. All but one are skilled technicians.

My Thoughts on Lazarus Planet: Dark Fate #1 (aka the Cass portion)
Tumblr media
An hour past noon. Enough time for some thoughts on one story, Lazarus Planet: Dark Fate #1. Some thoughts to keep us warm until Spirit World #1 arrives...
The thing that always interests me with Alyssa Wong when they tackle Cassandra Cain is they take the character and use stuff Cass has faced and then spin something new.
Cass has only encountered magic a handful of times. Only once in her entire series (ironically near the tail end with Lazara).
Tumblr media
In truth, Cass has encountered magic outside her own comic more (Young Justice, the Zee arc in Tec Knights, and just recently the big battle in “Dark Crisis” where she literally was dodging attacks from Spectre) and--
Tumblr media
JL: Elite with her and Coldcast being in the "world of shadows" and they encountered some Lovecraftian creatures.
Tumblr media
Literally, outside the main universe, Cass encountering mystic stuff seems more common. We have Cass getting Shazam powers in DCeased, her fighting vampires (and teaming up with Frankenstein briefly) in DC vs. Vampires--
-- and another place in an animated adaptation of a comic she was never in originally (Batman: the Doom that Came to Gotham).
Tumblr media
So all of this is a nice treat to see Wong take the character outside their "comfort" area and into something that's an open area for the character to explore, magic.
We get the perfect gateway character for that with Cass in the newly introduced character Xanthe.
Tumblr media
Though I have to admit this brief little tease Wong gives introducing Cass maybe hints at what she's been up to during the Batman vs. Robin mini prior. Not jobbing, but making the city safe while everyone else was occupied.
Which kind of makes sense truthfully for someone of Cass's skillset. Nezha couldn't incapacitate or maybe twist her like everyone else. So the next best thing is to keep her so busy that she doesn't have any time to do anything else.
At least what I'm going with by reading this.
The thing that fascinates me early on in Cass and Xanthe's team-up is how Cass calls the vampires one thing and Xanthe calls them and I love the editor's note here because I'm utterly clueless with it comes to Chinese mythology (save a few things).
Tumblr media
I also love that Wong showing their knowledge of Cass knowing what to do due to being such a movie junkie (and I liked that this was brought up. The nod made me smirk cause it's been A WHILE since someone referenced Cass's old habits).
I also just love that this isn't the end of the story and that Xanthe, Cass, and John Constantine (a character Cass has barely any meetings of in canon, but had one out of it in DCeased).
There was SOOOO much of this story and the art by Haining gives us a nice expressive Cass. Again, I don't mind the white eyes when an artist makes them so expressive and Haining gives Cass some nice reactions throughout this tale.
Tumblr media
Not to mention some nice fluidity in her move set too. Literally, the only negative I can say is how quickly the story ended and make me hunger for more. Thankfully we only have two more months before we get just that in Spirit World #1.
The premise in that, Xanthe/John in a quest to save Cass. I'm game for. Though I do hope we just see a character like Cass see the Spirt World thru her eyes. Cause body language and also for new readers this be a nice treat.
Plus the chance to see Cass actually struggle not have it be ooc? To learn something new? Yeah, I'm game for that.
The side bonus to all of this is we get a full-on tale by Alyssa Wong. No one part (ala Batman: Urban Legends #8) and a short (but amazing story in DC: Doomed & the Damned #1).  Just a full-on story Wong has with Cass and I'm all for that.
Though I am hopeful that maybe Batgirls can deal with this issue's fallout? I'm game for Babs/Steph to have an issue or more with them wondering where Cass is at? Or maybe Cass show up and have an editor's note (read Spirit World #1).
Just to give that nice bridge to both comics that Cass is in. Besides it gives us that moment with Steph to see her own thoughts when Cass is out of the picture (will she read Cass's letter?).
Not to mention see Babs' thoughts on handling what occurred with Steph in #15 and now Cass going on a crazy Spirit Adventure with others.
Tumblr media
If you can't tell I really REALLY dug this story and can't wait for May for more of this.  It truly is a nice surprise to not only get a bonus mini that has Cass in it but is written by Alyssa Wong?
