ROUND 2: POLL #1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ROUND 2 ALL POLLS [HERE]
PROPAGANDA BELOW
Jack Harkness/Ianto Jones:
NO PROPAGANDA SUBMITTED
Astarion Ancunín/Wyll Ravengard:
Astarion Ancunín/Wyll Ravengard:
Wyll and Astarion play out as a story of parallels and contrasts.
Wyll is a monster hunter, and Astarion is a vampire. However, Wyll can be surprisingly reasonable when he learns of Astarion's true nature, to the point that he makes a "pact" with a player character Astarion to not hunt him if Astarion promises not to drink from innocents.
Both Astarion and Wyll are trapped in a relationship with an abuser--Astarion with his vampire sire, Cazador, and Wyll with the devil he contracted with to receive his powers as a warlock, Mizora. (Spoiler: Both Cazador and Mizora cause monsters transformations in Astarion and Wyll.) The way the two react to their bondage contrasts in interesting ways: Astarion latches onto behaving selfishly, his centuries of slavery without any aid convincing him that he needs to focus on gaining power to protect himself, no matter the cost. Wyll responds to his own abuse by clinging to his folk hero persona, the Blade of Frontiers, leading to him being selfless to the point of great personal cost--at one point in the story, Wyll can choose to (spoilers: be bound into his contract with Mizora for an eternity to save his father--the father that banished him from Baldur's Gate at the age of 17 because of his contract.) There's a good chance for them to push each other away from the extremes of selfishness and selflessness to end up more toward the middle, particularly if you choose one of them as the player character. (Spoilers: Astarion can be talked out of sacrificing 700 souls in a demonic ritual to become the Vampire Ascendant with a charisma check, and Wyll's highest stat is charisma. If you're playing as Astarion, you can offer to use your past as a magistrate to try to help Wyll get out of his contract, and it's pretty in character for him to argue against giving up on ever breaking free from it to save Wyll's father.)
The way their romance paths play out also have an interesting mix of contrast and parallels. Astarion is an incorrigible flirt and very quickly pursues a sexual relationship with the player character as long as he reaches a relatively low approval score threshold, while Wyll refuses sex in his romance until the end, because he wants to have a slow, romantic courtship as portrayed in the bardic tales he loves so much. However, (spoilers: Astarion eventually comes to the realization that being forced to prostitute himself to lure victims for Cazador has damaged his self image and relationship with sex, and admits he was initially seducing a romanced player to try to secure protection for himself. Once he hits that point he asks the player to halt sex in their relationship until he can figure out what he himself actually wants. Between this and dev notes found in the game's script that details that Astarion actually DOES want to have non-sexual intimacy, there's a good argument to be made that Wyll's style of romance is actually much closer to what Astarion truly wants in a relationship.)
Both Astarion and Wyll are attracted to all genders, and make comments indicating attraction to each other. Wyll frequently mentions that he finds Astarion charming and beautiful (particularly commenting on his "well-coiffed" hair), and Astarion immediately responds "Wyll" when asked which party member he wants to drink from the most, and eventually admits (if somewhat derisively) that "Wyll's the sort of prince-type I would have once dreamed of marrying. When I was about thirteen."
And the cherry on top of all of this? You can choose to play the game as either Astarion or Wyll, and romance the other. So you can, in a sense, choose to make this pairing canon, at least in your playthrough.

You did? I should check them.
Then, what about Platonic Yandere! Luffy, Zoro and Sanji with Female!Teen!Y/n who is from the real world and is a fan of Strawhats Pirates but got teleported into their world?
─Yandere!monster trio x fem!teen!reader (platonic)
─Summary: you find yourself in your favorite anime but things seem to be a little weirder than you imagined
─Warnings: obsession, toxic behavior, general yandere stuff yk
Part two
Tumblr media
─ One day your existence simply decided to teleport to the world of one of your favorite animes, One Piece, let's not go into details, you just did it somehow and you accepted it quickly because you had already read about all those fanfics where someone changes universe.
─ But nothing happens! It seemed that all the luck you never had finally came to you with a bang because you landed on the Mugiwara ship, nothing less.
─ Excited was a word that fell short of how you felt in that world, but also scared because you knew the entire context of many of the things and atrocities done.
─ You forgot everything bad to focus exclusively on the fact that you were meeting your favorite or comfort characters, you could definitely die after this because it was like a dream come true.
─ Leaving all the confusion and distrust of how or why you were there, everyone seemed to believe that you were not from this world and that they were not real in yours because you knew a lot (too much) about them.
─ Usopp is a little afraid of you because of all your knowledge about them.
─ Robin wanted to know more about the void century but Luffy simply refused you to give them 'spoilers' of what was about to happen in their lives, you had no choice but to respect him, now he was your captain after all.
─ Luffy was very clingy to you from the beginning, he found your admiration towards them adorable, he really likes to impress you when he uses his devil fruit, although everything here is out of the ordinary and impresses you.
─ You won't have a second of peace with this boy if you ever get hurt by someone (or even if it was your fault because you tripped or something), he feels responsible for your health and won't let anyone do anything to you.
─Zoro is in the same line of thoughts as his captain because in his eyes you were someone completely vulnerable in this world full of monsters, that sometimes you get lost because of your fascination simply increases his degree of protection.
─ Sanji became equally fond of you, having you in the kitchen learning about your world was more fun than he thought at first, he felt like a father whenever you came to him to tell him about any nonsense you had done with Luffy on some random island.
─ And despite the fact that all this time with them was incredible, you inevitably missed your loved ones, your old routine and life.
─ The faces of the three when you carelessly commented that from now on you were going to start looking for a way to return to your world was completely horrified, the three of them looked at each other and nodded, a silent pact.
─ They threatened Nami because she was the first one who offered to help you, just like Robin, weren't you happy with them here? You seem happy and you would be well protected, why would you want to leave their side?
─ They would lie if they find valuable information, they only try to protect you, you have also told some bad things about your world and if you leave they will not be able to keep you safe.
─ Luffy is much clingier, Zoro is much more careful of your surroundings, Sanji doesn't seem to take his eyes off you in case something unexpected happens that could hurt you.
─ You practically have a trio that is all over you all the time, lucky for you, you decided to ignore a lot of the red flags in their behavior, chalking it up to just being worried and you couldn't defend yourself, which got you rid of a lot of possible punishments.
─ Although, it was inevitable not to notice how persistent they are when you want to go explore an island, you don't even have a wanted poster because they always manage to lock you in the ship somehow when the fights start.
─ But by the time you realize that they are behaving differently from their normal personalities, it will be too late, they will limit you as much as they can, they will only blackmail you because they would hate to see you hurt by one of them.
─ It doesn't matter if you start to be afraid around them because of their obsession, Luffy will still demand his hugs, Zoro will want you to take a nap with him and Sanji will make you his kitchen assistant whether you like it or not, you have no opinion here, just do it.
─ The punishments are not very severe, no violence, just deprive you of things like food or movement, if you need to spend a few hours or days in your room without seeing anyone, you will.
─ They won't see their behavior as strange, no one from the crew will dare to say anything to help you because the last time Franky was almost decapitated by Zoro.
─ They see you as an innocent little sister who doesn't know how to take care of herself, they don't want anyone to corrupt you, they're just trying to keep you safe, can't you see that? They want the best for you even if they have to punish you in the process, after all you were a careless teenager who was unaware of true evil.
─ Now you'll be safe, right?

Chapter 1 -
She missed her home at Baldur's Gate deeply. Although the majority of the inhabitants were humans, she had always felt at home there, with the river Chiontar within easy reach. For a bard, she had risen quite successfully and was well liked by the populace and the local lords, often performing at balls and other festivities. What she missed was practising her music on the riverbank, singing to the Blushing Mermaid from morning till night without her vocal chords weakening. She missed the simplicity and comfort of her past life. Quite simple. And in just a few days, it was all gone.
She had been kidnapped by mindflayers, had an illithid larvae inserted behind her eye, survived the crash of their ship, had fought gnolls, goblins and other creatures and now she was sleeping under the stars surrounded by odd companions. A few details aside, that was all. Normal people would have spread this over several months. She was still trying to figure out how she had managed to survive this far.
She looked towards her companions who were surrounding the campfire a few metres away. She had isolated herself, as she like to do, to be alone with her thoughts. Her eyes passed over each of her companions, starting with Lae'zel, a gith she had met aboard the nautiloid. However grumpy her nature was, she had shown unfailing loyalty and was a great ally. She had also crossed paths with a cleric and disciple of Shar by the name of Shadowheart. Then she met Gayle, a magician, in the funniest possible way. Wyll, nicknamed the Blade of Frontiers, son of the Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate who had made a strange pact with a devil, Karlach, a tiefling with a fiery temper and, finally, him.
Astarion.
Tav finally focused her gaze on him, comfortably seated on a wooden chair by the fire, his feet resting on a log. In his right hand he was holding a steel cup, and she could easily guess that the inside was some old brandy, the liquor he enjoyed the most. In his other hand, he was holding a book, he seemed to be absorbed by his reading. From time to time, Karlach teased him to include him in the conversation with the others. The bard tilted her head slightly and squinted her eyes to read the title engraved in gold on the cover of the book, "The Curse of The Vampyr". She held back a smile at the irony of the situation and wondered about the veracity of the tale. Did he see himself in what he was reading? She was curious to know exactly what the manuscript was about - was there anything new she did not already knew?
Her gaze followed the curve of the vampire's arm to focus on his face. His perfect face lit by the dancing light of the fire in front of him. She caught a glimpse at his fangs as he silently read parts of the book, her eyes detailing his perfectly shaped nose before finally coming to rest on his eyes. It was as red as the blood itself, and it pierced her soul every time he looked at her. She felt her heart skip a beat - she had never imagined herself becoming allied and close to such a creature. She had never seen anyone like him. He was dangerously charming and eloquent beyond compare. He was quick-witted, mischievous, teasing and delighted in the misfortune of others. He had a penchant for manipulation, lies, expensive alcohol, art and poetry. And she cursed herself for being drawn to him. Because she knew the influence he could have on her. He was the devil on her shoulder who drove her to commit terrible sins.
It took all her strength to stop staring at him like that, and she returned her attention to the violin at her feet, her fingers brushing the strings. Music was her magic, but it was so much more: it was also a sign of power. A power that could keep battles alive, make heroes eternal, but also shatter reputations and turn cities to pieces. She took a deep breath, as if to restore her own self-confidence, and picked up her musical instrument to return to the others. As she approached the campfire, she realised that everyone had already gone back to their occupations, except Astarion. The vampire looked up from his book to examine the young woman for a few seconds; she could not tell if it was the firelight that was having that effect, but a strange glint shone in his eyes. He stopped reading completely as he closed the book and locked his hands against his chest, still looking at her as she awkwardly sat down at the opposite of him.
"Interesting book? Did you learn anything new?" asked Tav, grabbing a half-full cup from the ground at her feet. Bringing the cup to her lips, she took a big gulp and immediately regretted it, repressing the urge to wince. From the strong aroma of the alcohol, she guessed that it was Chultan Fireswill.
"Surprisingly, no," he sighed. "I was expecting to learn something unusual, so I must admit I am a little disappointed," said Astarion, shrugging his shoulders.
She smiled at his answer, her eyes glued to the flames waving in front of her. The fire was blocking her view of Astarion and it was no bad thing, given how easily she lost her composure when she was alone with him and he liked to take advantage of that. She was glad there was this barrier between them.
"Now, darling, are you trying to run away from me?" asked Astarion. She was able to guess the mischievous smile on his lips. She barely had time to reply when she saw him rise from his chair, walk around the fire and come to her side. He held out his right hand, the other resting casually on his hip.
"All this brandy and small talk whetted my appetite. Shall we ?"
Tav lost herself in his crimson eyes for a few seconds before finally grabbing his hand to get up, leaving her violin on the bare ground. The vampire quietly led her to his tent, which she entered. It was not the first time she had entered it, but the smell wafting through the small space made her heart throb every time. Brandy, rosemary and bergamot. She looked over her shoulder at Astarion, who was closing the entrance to the tent with his agile fingers before returning to her. His fingertips grazed the crook of her neck, a shiver running through her body. He gently wrapped the long braid around his arm as he positioned himself behind her, applying gentle pressure to tilt her head back.
"I have waited for this moment with great patience," he said hoarsely.
Tav tried to calm her breathing, excitement and apprehension gradually taking over her body. She hated as much as she enjoyed the effect he had on her. Astarion tugged gently once more on the braid to tilt her head to the right, exposing her neck completely. He lowered his head, inhaling the scent she gave off before placing a chaste kiss on her sensitive skin. He slidded his other hand up her stomach before touching her breasts, grasping the lace of her corsage with his fingertips and pulling it with a calculated, disconcerting slowness to reveal the birth of her breasts. She half-opened her mouth, her breathing getting heavier and heavier.
"Stop playing that little game," she said. "Be very, very quiet, darling. You do not want to wake up the others" he answered, teasingly.
He then began to place another kiss behind her pointed ear, before placing another one against her neck. She felt something cold brush her skin, she guessed it was his fangs. This was followed by a stabbing pain that radiated throughout her neck. It was not the first time he had fed on her, but each time the ache surprised her. She leaned her back against his chest and placed her hand on Astarion's, which was resting on her breasts, intertwining her fingers with his. She listened to him feed, closing her eyes. Each of his sips, each of his breaths sounded like a melody to her ears. For her, this kind of moment was just as sensual and intimate, it brought them closer in a different way and that was what she enjoyed. Every day, she longed for his touch, his lips against her skin, his voice in her ears, his whole being.

Propaganda under the cut.
Rose Thorburn Jr.:
Can’t get into too many details without spoilers but. Grandchild of a diabolist and inheritor of her library, forced to work with her other self (complicated magic bullshit) who she hates to get anything done. Makes pacts with vengeful spirits, frightening monsters and personified concepts to rise to the top of her small town’s magical leadership. Largely stuck in a mirror and rightfully bitter about it.
Eva Ushiromiya:
Basically every woman in Umineko qualifies for this but Eva is probably the most girlboss and the most unpleasant. She's an extremely controlling mother, aggressive towards all the women in her life who might compete with her for favor, and (later in the series) her deep-seated misanthropy manifests as an uncontrollable magic demon that kills her entire family (that's spoilers in case you care). Ultimately, though, she's also probably the series' most successful and ultimately rational character. Her grandfather was distant and controlling and hoarded absurd amounts of wealth to be passed on to his heirs, albeit within the confines of his mercurial personality and occult interests. He was also a gigantic misogynist and refused to allow her to attend college/make attempts at advancement. Her behavior is a conditioned response to a cutthroat household. To play devil's advocate, she's kind of not morally ambiguous because she's just fucking evil. But I don't care :)

Baldur's Gate 3
Summary: (Part I of II) --ACT I SPOILERS-- Basically how I imagined Mizora's arrival at camp after sparing Karlach to have gone. After she leaves, it becomes a re-write of the conversation you can have with Wyll. I wanted to characterize my Tav more as well as show his and Wyll's close relationship (and history).
I don't think I've ever posted my writing here - so y'all are in for a real treat (sarcasm). I'm not the best writer so, if you make it thru this, you are a saint. And thank you!
Warnings: Mentions of suicide, physical, and sexual abuse
The camp was thrust into utter chaos at Mizora's sudden arrival; Gale may have lost his knickers for how high he jumped. There was much shouting and bumping into one another as weapons were drawn (weapons a la pots and pans), and the dog, for the moment, had gone barking mad.
The devil's business was simple: she'd come to collect. Her cheeky, nonchalant grin soured when she looked upon her charge and his living, breathing target, whose head was still attached. Interesting.
"Tsk. Naughty, naughty," Mizora hummed.
Wyll's bronze complexion paled, and his stomach launched into his chest. His uneasy gaze drifted between Mizora and Karlach, the tiefling woman he was contracted to kill. He pursued her into Avernus, the first layer of the Hells, then onto the Mind Flayer vessel that planted this lovely little parasite into his one good eye. This, of course, was under the pretense that she was a devil; Archdevil Zariel's attack dog, not the mortal she turned out to be.
Amidst all the chaos, the entire camp watched in horror as Wyll appeared to exit his body at Mizora's command. He was anguished, grunting and gasping for air. Searing flames and a thick, blackest black abyss engulfed him, and the camp lost sight of him for a moment. The group's clamoring to pull Wyll from this abyss was futile. He returned a moment later, but he was… different.
"There," Mizora said, pleased with herself.
Wyll's head ached as heavy horns sprouted from his forehead. His body changed—angles sharper, and his once deep brown eye glowed a demonic red. There was a soreness about his whole body, and the last remnants of sweltering heat could be felt in his extremities.
The devil was saying something to him, but he couldn't make out her words. His head was buzzing with a mighty headache, new from the weight of his infernal horns. A loud ringing blocked out any hope of a thought. He could make out the shapes of Kestrel, the tiefling bard, Karlach, Shadowheart, the Sharran cleric, and Gale, the awkward, bumbling wizard, all fussing over him, but their words, too, were muffled by this awful din.
Mizora took in the scene. Satisfied, she opened up a portal to her domain. She would not leave, though, without uttering the final remark.
"I do hope you enjoy your new body, Wyll. There is magic that even I can't change," with a chuckle and a snap of her fingers, her demonic wings curled around her, and the blackest black abyss of her portal enveloped her, "Hmph, Ta-ta."
There and gone in an instant, Mizora's departure allowed the camp to finally settle into the quiet rhythm of before.
All had retired to their tents a bit more relaxed; the danger had passed, at least for the moment. Even the dog, Scratch, settled down and, as usual, selected his sleeping arrangements for the night. He chose Lae'zel, the stern, fearsome Githyanki warrior, and followed her to her tent, much to her chagrin.
"Well. That was… something," Gale scratched his head and sighed, visibly dispelling the anxiety of the moment, "Best to get some rest, if such a thing can be achieved. I do hope Wyll is all right. That can't be easy.
"But, I also wish he had mentioned being a warlock—pacted to a devil. Might have been a pertinent detail…"
The group still, of course, had these grotesque little brain worms to contend with: a "gift" from a fanatical, power-obsessed god with ambitions to usurp the known realms.
"If I find this creature's slobber on my greaves, I will skin it," she grumbled.
Everyone knew she loved the dog but stubbornly refused to admit it. This world was new to her after all, and she may have taken a liking to it, much to her dismay.
Unnerved, Kestrel remained by the campfire, his gaze drifted between the flames' graceful ballet and the dirt once blackened by the devil's portal. The ebbing heat warmed his skin, engulfing him like a cozy blanket.
He leaned back, his gaze following the swirling smoke rising into the dark expanse, illuminated by the silver moon. The night sky was awash with stars—thousands of tiny, sparkling, white jewels embroidered into the black velvet firmament. He could hear the soft lapping of the river Chionthar's waves against the rocky shore and its bubbling current surrounding the camp.
Fireflies bumbled about, little candles floating through the air, blissfully unaware of the world around them. Peepers and crickets composed a peaceful symphony in time with the crashing waves of the river.
Wyll—where was he? Kestrel didn't see him return to his tent like the others. Understandable after what had just happened.
He imagined it was agony; having every piece of one's soul violently ripped through each layer of the Hells. And coming back… transformed. He also knew from experience how much horns hurt. At least he'd had the benefit of time. Wyll's just… popped out, fully formed. In an instant. Kestrel found himself idly rubbing the base of his horns, remembering their dull pain as they slowly broke through his skin, growing up. And—gods—the headaches.
Aside from that gruesome transformation - how was he feeling? Lost, maybe. The once proud "Blade of Frontiers," hero of the people, now a devil. A prolific monster-hunter, now a monster himself. Hmph, Astarion was probably giddy from the irony of that. Maybe Wyll saw it, too, and had a chuckle to himself. But still, Kestrel knew it had to, on some level, sting.
There, Kestrel convinced everyone that his wild coughing fit was simply from the choking smoke of the inn's fire—not a panic attack sending saliva down the wrong pipe.
His gaze drifted upwards toward the soft, ghostly glow of the moon. A painful memory pricked the back of his skull—the same memory that had plagued him in Waukeen's Rest earlier that day.
The elven woman they'd rescued from the inferno, Counsellor Florrick of Baldur's Gate, had dusted off her purple gown. The gesture wasn't much use - she was covered head to toe in ash. Nevertheless, she stood tall and informed her saviors that Goblins and Drow had attacked the inn—set fire to everything… and taken the duke, Grand Duke Uldar Ravenguard, Wyll's father.
Kestrel suddenly realized why Wyll seemed so familiar. His heart seized then. With lungs burning, panic overtook him as he began to vividly picture a baby-faced knight in shining armor, storming through golden gates, his wooden practice sword in a sheath meant for an iron one.
No matter how hard he tried to shake it then—in front of this stately official from Baldur's Gate and her contingent of Flaming Fists, the memory persisted. He doubled over, coughing wildly between desperate gasps for air.
He chuckled about it; what a fool he must have looked like. After that display, he had doubts that the counselor had put much faith in him. But even now, as he sat idly by the fire's warmth, in the night's stillness, his breath hitched.
~
"Ah, young master Ravenguard, to what do I owe the pleasure?"
That voice. It tore at the recesses of Kestrel's mind like a gnoll from its host. Ripping. Visceral. Gnawing.
A fourteen-year-old boy stood tall in the grand foyer of the manor, stoic and determined, his warm brown face still plump from baby fat.
The symbol of the Flaming Fists was emblazoned on his leather jerkin. His small, iron pauldrons glistened in the fire-light of the manor hall. He clutched at the hilt of a sword concealed by its sheath. The sword was wooden—but maybe the boy hoped no one would call his bluff.
"I wish to speak to the Lady Zamura," his voice cracked, still in the throes of puberty.
"Would you? Well, far be it from me to refuse the son of the Grand Duke," the voice slithered and snaked its way through Kestrel's memory.
At the top of the angled stairs stood a shaking, tiefling girl of seventeen years. She wore a royal-blue brocade gown with intricate gold embroidery dotted with pearls. A large sapphire of the deepest blue was the centerpiece of a golden circlet upon her forehead. Her curly, raven-black hair was neatly tied by golden cuffs into two long braids over either shoulder, reaching her waist. There was a faint, purple handprint across her blue-gray cheek.
The man turned from young Wyll Ravenguard and beckoned the girl to his side. Like a herded sheep, she obeyed. He towered over the girl—a hulking mass of fine silk and furs. His thick, pale pink hand adorned with a sharp onyx ring clutched her shoulder like a monster's claw around its prey. She did not make eye contact with either of the two humans.
"My sweet, the son of the Duke is here to see you," the man's grip on her shoulder tightened.
Her gaze slowly rose to meet the boy's. A shaky, feigned smile began to cross her meek countenance.
"Hello," she uttered, her voice barely audible.
The boy bowed curtly to the girl and spoke in a dignified manner, "Hello, Lady Zamura." He cleared his throat and continued,
Every fiber of the girl's being urged her to run to the boy, jump into his arms, and escape from this gilded, marble-encrusted hell. Every ounce of her body wanted nothing more than to scream, "Help me!"
"A few townsfolk came to my father on your behalf—earlier this evening, you were seen in the lower city.
"They said that you must have run away… trying to escape this place.
"That my father's Flaming Fists were contracted to bring you back here.
"I need to know that you are here of your own volition."
The man's grip on her shoulder tightened immensely. Fear smothered her heart and silenced her inner screams.
"Well, my love, tell him how happy you are here," there was so much venom in his tone that Kestrel was sure Wyll heard it then.
But this fourteen-year-old boy with a wooden sword could do nothing to save this girl. He knew it; his defeated posture said as much. The vile, festering pustule of a man holding her hostage knew it. Even she knew it.
A lump grew in her throat, threatening to break her demure facade. She swallowed it as best she could, feeling the man's grip constrict evermore. It hurt.
"I'm very happy here. I'm to be married soon."
~
Those words felt like a cold blade in Kestrel's heart, even ten years later. The one thing that horrid nightmare revealed to him now—is that Wyll was good. He was always good; with him, he carried a heart of gold. He didn't deserve to feel like a monster—he could never be one.
He chose to spare Karlach's life at great cost to his own, a woman he never met and was under contract to kill. Likewise, all those years ago, he decided to march into that manor and confront a great beast for a girl he'd likely only heard stories of.
Kestrel's guilt panged in his chest. After Wyll's transformation, he accosted him, hollering about how he hypocritically waxed poetic about steering clear of the devil Raphael, yet there he was, pacted to Mizora. The brave, baby-faced fourteen-year-old Wyll rushed back into Kestrel's memory. He had to find Wyll, if anything, to apologize.
Wyll sat in the rocky sand; his knees pulled up to his chest. He sullenly watched the small waves lap at the shore beneath his bare feet. The water was icy-cold against his skin—a relief from the searing, skin-melting heat he'd felt during his harrowing experience not moments ago.
His mind wandered to dark places. What's the use in doing the right thing, if it means being punished? Who was he kidding, he would never change his ways. Couldn't. Somehow, though, he knew those ways would be his end.
"There you are," a chocolatey voice pulled Wyll back from his sea of bleak thoughts.
The bard definitely put on airs. Hells, he even gave Astarion a run for his money. Beneath all the layers of bullshit, though, his heart was kind. Wyll hadn't known him long, but that much was plain to see—no matter how hard the bastard tried to hide it.
He looked out for this rag-tag group of misfits. Helped the grieving bard Alfira finish her song. His camaraderie with the tiefling children was impressive. Saved one of them from harpies and another from a venomous snake.
He even gave of himself to keep the vampire fed. Sure, there may have been a less noble motive behind this one (surely, those two didn't believe that the camp was unaware of their late-night trysts in the woods). Nonetheless, Kestrel Everdusk was a good friend to have.
They'd gotten into a spat when Mizora arrived—Wyll could remember that much over the ringing. It was faint now, and he could finally think. Wyll couldn't blame the bard; he'd put everyone in danger by keeping such a secret as Mizora. He wondered what the others thought of his devilish appearance now—wondered what Kestrel thought of him.
"Wyll, I'm sorry I was short with you earlier. I—"
"No. You were right."
"Hm?"
"Wyll, ugh. Look, we all have our secrets. I can understand why the Blade of Frontiers would want to keep the true font of his power under lock and key."
"I should have told you about it—it was reckless of me not to. There's too much on the line."
He sighed, "Mizora is a fickle creature, even as devils go. I put you all in danger."
There was a brief pause between them—both mesmerized by the soft waves cast by the river's current.
"Pah. The Blade of Frontiers. Look at him now. Hideous. A horned devil—a gods-damned monster," Wyll stared down into his rippling reflection below.
His demonic red eye glowed faintly on the water's surface, his prominent horns protruding from his forehead, then curling up and back over his neatly-rowed locs.
Kestrel smiled cheekily, "Am I a monster?"
Wyll recoiled, stammering, "Shit, n—no! I uh…"
That made Wyll smile. Maybe even like a fool. There was a quiet warmth around them now despite the cold water.
A gentle giggle escaped Kestrel's plump lips, "Easy, Tiger, I'm teasing. I'd say you're quite the handsome devil.
"People will see what they want to.
"You can save all the cats from trees and help all the old ladies cross the street that you want, and they'll still see a devil.
"You are the only one who truly knows your heart. You know that you are no monster. I know. We all do. Those that love you will see you.
"You're still the Blade of Frontiers. And whatever else you want to be."
Wyll looked down at their reflections. Kestrel's red-tipped horns gracefully curved back from his forehead in an elegant twisting pattern. His eyes glowed white as the moon with a bright, red ring around his sharp, feline-esque pupils. He was downright pretty if Wyll was honest. He felt his cheeks grow hot, flushing red. He thanked the gods for the darkness. Now, Kestrel seemed so very familiar—yet he couldn't place why.
"Was your pact what drove a wedge between you and your father?" Kestrel asked, recalling the conversation at Waukeen's Rest regarding Wyll and his father's estrangement.
"Ah, it certainly didn't help, but a rift had been growing there for a while."
"Oh?"
Wyll chuckled, his gaze falling from the water into his lap, "Aye, I'd say the first time I saw him differently was when I was fourteen."
Kestrel's expression sank. A pang of fear struck him, and he tried to fight the rising tide of panic. Fourteen? I knew you then, if you remember.
Wyll continued, "You see, there was this girl—"
Gods.
"A bard, like you. Tiefling, too. I never heard her play, but I'm told she was a legend. One of those—ah, what's the word—prodigies. They called her The Siren of the Wide."
Shit.
"Some noble took a liking to her and snatched her off the streets one day. Folks from the lower city came to petition my father for her rescue."
Kestrel tried to steady his breathing, but the memory trickled back as Wyll spoke.
"My father refused—that noble's family, the Vels, was in too many pockets. Highly influential in the upper city. Political suicide if he crossed them.
"So, I took it upon myself."
He laughed, "I brought my wooden practice sword. Hid it in an iron sheath. Can you imagine?"
Kestrel let out a nervous chuckle. Wyll continued with his tale.
Kestrel froze—a flash of an intricate illusion he set in his favorite hiding spot played in his mind. A disturbing scene of himself hanging with a blank, deathly stare and his head cocked to one side. The illusion was deep - it even had a touch component that would rely on the finder's memory of how his body felt. It took quite a bit of concentration. A shudder ran through his body, and nausea churned in his stomach.
"The bastard had a troll's grip on her shoulder. Made her say that she was fine. I knew she wasn't.
"A ten-day or so later, all of Baldur's Gate found out that she'd died. Suicide. The night before that sham of a wedding.
"I was so angry with my father—we could have saved her—"
Wyll must have noticed, "Ah, are you alright?"
"Oh, the water's cold, is all," Kestrel deflected again as he had at Waukeen's Rest. No. Nore more. Wyll deserves the truth.
He shifted nervously, pulling his feet from the water and his knees up to his chest.
"There's something I should tell you," he spoke slowly, each word becoming shakier than the last, "I… struggle to talk about it but—"
"You don't have to—"
"No, I need to. But, erm, I can't—"
Wyll didn't think he'd ever see the bard fumble over his words. But here he was, struggling to string together a sentence. Unsure. He watched as the tiefling squinted his eyes shut and exhaled deeply, grounding himself.
"I'm not good at talking about this, so, erm, if you don't mind, I'd—" the tiefling fidgeted, "I'd like to tell you a story."
To Wyll, that last bit sounded more like a question than a statement. He laughed, jokingly scandalized: a bard who's lost his eloquence? Absurd.
"I'd love a story," he smiled cooly.
Kestrel let out another shaky breath before he spoke. His shoulders sank as he collected his legs in an embrace, resting his chin over his knees. He turned to face Wyll, letting an arm dangle to draw shapes in the sand beside him.
"Bear with me here—it may be a bit… juvenile. I'm, erm, not in my right mind."
"Of course."
He cleared his throat and began slowly:
There once was a bird who sat in her mother's nest, Feathers plain and dull like rags on her breast. She longed for plumes of beautiful color— "Those you shall never have," said her tawny mother.
A sorrowful song she sang, and a crowd did gather. "But, little bird, you're so lovely; what's the matter? Your bosom is full, and your song is true, Nay, there isn't a man who does not covet you."
T'was not love that the bird lamented in her art; But a plumage to mirror that within her heart. Handsome, billowing feathers of all hues, Maybe the deep reds of roses, or perhaps ocean blues.
The crowd did not understand but loved her song, did they, For the crowd grew like wildflowers on that day. So big was the gathering around the little bird That her father flew in, astonished at what he'd heard.
"We are not songbirds!" He snarled, all fire and rage, "For songbirds are scandalous, impure, and depraved! You would be proper, and I'll see it true!" Off her father did fly, all feathers of brightest blue.
Wyll heard Kestrel's voice waver, and his words came slower. It was clear to Wyll that he was stringing this story together on the fly, impressive for not being in his right mind.
The tiefling paused for a moment before steeling himself to continue. Though shaky, he found his momentum and a certainty ran through his words:
Lament did the sorrowful little bird once more. Larger a crowd, she beckoned than ever before. "A siren song," said they, all cheers and fanfare— But wretched was her heart, so full of despair.
Her father returned, on a man's shoulder he perched. "No longer will I see our hard-won esteem besmirched. A lady you will be—proper and demure. This man will see to that—of this, I am sure."
The man smiled with the teeth of a lion Dressed in fine silks, gold jewelry, and diamonds. From under his velvet cape, he did lift A shining, gilded cage—"A Gift!"
The man clipped the little bird's tawny brown wings. He placed her head in a bridle so she could not sing. He tried to break her bones and her spirit, too. Nay, there wasn't a thing the wildflower crowd could do.
With broken bones but an iron-clad spirit, she cried "No more will I be forced to live in this lie!" From the gilded cage, she set herself free. But her wings were broken, and she could not flee.
Again and again, she escaped her cage, But the lion-man grabbed the little bird in a rage. "Retreat from me, you will not, foolish bird. For I am your master, and you will heed my word."
Kestrel paused, memories of the man's grotesque rage resurfacing. "You are to be my wife—and you will do as I say!" the man shouted and spat, hot with a fiery rage over Kestrel's refusal to pleasure him. Those vile words echoed in his mind. The man struck him that night. So deep was the gash across his lip from the man's onyx ring that it left an indented scar.
The man had Kestrel's arm in a vice grip, one that left a nasty bruise behind. He took what he wanted that night, anyway. The tiefling tried to push back the memory of the pain and fear resurfacing.
Shutting his eyes tight, his breath quickened - the panic ever rising in his chest. He felt a warm hand gently brush his shoulder and flinched —it was only Wyll, who drew back his hand apologetically.
"Gah. I'm sorry—" Kestrel gasped. He dug his hand deeper into the sand, feeling each rocky granule rake against his skin.
"Breathe. Take your time. I quite like your story," Wyll beamed a comforting smile.
Kestrel nodded and took a moment to regain himself. He wanted to tell this story more than anything. He exhaled deeply and continued,
Her spirit now broken, the little bird despaired No more pain could she suffer; no more evil could she bear. The flame of the hearth by her cage serenely burned. For the sun-yellow fire to engulf her, she yearned.
Snapped were her bones, and clipped were her wings, An end to her strife, true peace this blaze could bring. Out from her cage, one last time, steadfast did she leap. "No more can the lion-man hurt me," with joy she did weep.
The blaze overtook her, her tawny wings brightest red Sun-yellow was her belly; fiery crimson was her head. The fire consumed her and thus was the little bird's end. But joyously, her last moments in color she did spend.
No more did she suffer, no more did she cry. So serene in silent death did she lie. She wished only to live a life in vivid color, To live as her true self and not as a caged other.
From the little bird's ashes, the fire yet burned, From these flames, a vivid new life was earned. A songbird of steel-blue, copper, and white, Strong of spirit and unbroken wings took flight.
Over fields of wildflowers, the songbird did fly, He flew over deep seas and hills that kissed the sky. His song was beautiful—his call, proud and sincere. His powerful song was sung loud for all to hear.
He sang of a little tawny bird who suffered much; Her father's betrayal and the lion-man's clutch. "I sing for the little bird, for a songbird was she. I sing for the little bird, for the little bird is me."
The only sounds that remained as Kestrel finished his tale were the soft, lapping waves of the Chionthar and the peepers among the cattails. He felt that a weight had been lifted off of him. That somehow, his tormentor's grip on his mind loosened ever so slightly. His idle gaze returned to Wyll, who seemed far away. Oh no.
Wyll's mind wandered. The river's gentle waters still lapped at his feet, which now felt bitterly cold. He stared blankly into the rippling tide. Kestrel is the Siren of the Wide—the damsel he wished so badly he could have saved ten years ago! The damsel that he, and all of Baldur's Gate, had thought dead. The reason, at least in part, for the sowing of his and his father's difficulties.
But how could this be? There was a body—a massive, city-wide funeral. The Vel family was disgraced; they lost everything and were run out of the city as pariahs—the Siren's murderers. Good riddance. But... how? It's impossible!
"You're… her," Wyll breathed in astonishment, "But—how? They found your body—there was a funeral—all of Baldur's Gate mourned!"
Kestrel shifted where he sat, taken aback, "Really?"
A funeral? People... mourned him? He figured the Vel family would simply toss the duplicity into the Chionthar. Then... who found him, if not the Fists?
A snapping sound cut through Kestrel's thoughts. He followed the sound to Wyll, snapping his fingers, trying to get his attention.
"Kestrel! How did you do it?"
"An illusion," Kestrel hummed, eyes distant, "I altered the 'Invoke Duplicity' spell."
He spoke plainly; it was clear his mind was elsewhere—lost in the night of his brilliant escape from Baldur's Gate.

Mammon is the Best (HC)
Fandom: Obey Me
Pairing: Demon Bros x gn!Reader, platonic.
Warning: Mild angst, spoilers
Requested by: Anon
Prompt: [paraphrased] Obey me gn!mc bottles up all their trauma but has a mental break down because of everything that happened to them since they came to Devildom. Only Mammon is the one who treated who them nicely, and mc stands up for him.
A/N: Thanks for sending in a detailed request! I always love those. :3
———————————————
Prologue:
It all started with Belphie commenting about Diavolo always using his prince status to get what he wants, and you couldn't agree more. Initially, you added your thoughts about Diavolo's ways, but soon the situation slowly turned dark. All the emotions you had suppressed since day one finally poured out all at once.
"I was kidnapped from my home and brought to Devildom. If that wasn't enough, I was nearly charmed and became paranoid. Then I nearly got killed multiple times! Let's not forget that I ACTUALLY got killed!" You gritted your teeth while blinking away your tears, "The only reason all of you kept me alive was due to my connection to Lilith. You should have let me die the day Belphie killed me! Actually, no, you guys would have let me die had it not been for my connections to your dear sister."
Tears streamed down your flushed cheeks as you felt your knees weaken. Your knees soon collided against the floor as you held your head in your hands while the brothers silently listened to your words. "This is all wrong and stupid! I was nearly killed over a quiz, and for not making pacts, and so many other thinks."
You slowly shifted your eyes to Mammon and softly gazed at him. "You. You, Mammon, are the only one who never tried to hurt me and always cared about you. You didn't change your behavior after finding out I'm Lilith's descent. That's probably why you are my favorite."
Your gaze hardened as you moved your eyes towards the other brothers. "The so-called "scumbag" of the family is somehow the genuine, yet he is always the one who gets insulted. Hypocrites. That's what all of you are, fcking hypocrites!"
———————————————
Tumblr media
He knows Mammon is the best brother, and that’s why he has a soft spot for him. The Avatar of Pride is still happy that you stood up for Mammon as most people tend to degrade him, but Lucifer had no idea you felt this way.
If you hadn’t touched the grimoire, he would never have gotten mad at you - you have to understand that the book is his family’s lifeline. He was only trying to protect his brothers.
As for being Lilith’s descendent...he fought a war for his sister’s sake, fell from heaven, lost his sister, and had to see the state she was in after she fell from above, and he had to live with the guilt of dragging his brothers into this mess. He even made a deal with the devil for his sister’s sake, so how could he have not changed his view after finding out who you were? You being her descendent made Lucifer think everything he had been through, all the pain he has suffered ,was all worthwhile.
Lucifer knows how to feel, considering that he is always the one who has to bear the burden of everything his family does, and he knows all too well how it feels to bottle everything up.
He is going to be more careful from now on, and if he sees anyone trying to push your limits or add to your trauma, Lucifer will speak up.
Tumblr media
Do you really think of him as a genuine, kind, and the number one demon? Mammon is touched and has no words to express his gratitude. He honestly felt so happy that he could have hugged you and cried tears of joy; instead, he kneels beside you and strokes your back.
All he really did was follow his heart and look out for someone he cared about, but for once, someone saw the real him. He can’t tell you how much it hurt to always be degraded by his younger brothers, especially after everything he does for them.
Mammon wishes he could have protected you more - if only he had stopped Belphie in time, and if only he had known you hid your feelings. If only you had not come to Devildom and faced all this trauma. The thought hurt him, but maybe you would have been better off in your world.
Since he now knows how you feel, Mammon will try to protect you more and stay by your side as often as he can. His brothers are not going to get away easily for hurting you or giving you stress.
Tumblr media
When you say “nearly killed”, are you referring to the custard incident? Beel is sorry if he scared you, but he was angry at Mammon, not you...and he was not going to attack you in any way. But thanks to that incident, he was able to get to know you better.
Has he done anything else to hurt you? He’s even okay with you taking his food, so why are you calling him a hypocrite? Also, he respects Mammon, cares about him, and doesn’t think of him as scum, so why are you grouping him with his brothers? Also, Beel agrees with you about Mammon being the best - he’s always looking out for his family, and there is nothing better than to take care of the people you love.
Beel does agree that you have faced a lot of trauma in Devildom, and he sympathizes with you. Actually, he is sad to hear you were in pain all this time and didn’t share your feelings with anyone. He might not be bright, but he would have listened to you and helped you.
As for being the descendent of Lilith...he was forced to choose between his sister and brother and had to watch his sister die. How could he not be happy to know that his sister came back as a human, and you were related to her?
From now on, the Avatar of Gluttony is going to make sure to be your shield. If you are upset, he will lend you a shoulder, and if you’re hungry, he will be sure to give you his food, even if he has to stay hungry.
Tumblr media
He knows. He knows what he did was not okay, but his mind was too fried by everything that had happened - Diavolo getting his way, Lucifer supporting the prince, a human coming to Devildom, him getting reminded again about what happened to Lilith, getting locked up in the attic, and being all alone. Who could stay sane in that situation?
Did you honestly have to say Mammon is the best? He always messes everything up, so how is he the best?
To this day, Belphie regrets what he did. If he hadn’t been in such a stressful situation, he would never have attacked you. You may have forgiven him, but he has not forgiven himself and won’t be able to either.
Also, they’re demons, not angels. If demons had a pure heart, they would not be creatures of the dark. This is the exact reason why Belphie didn’t want the prince to invite a human over - demons and humans are way too different, and coexisting will be painfully difficult, but who listens to him?
At first, Belphie thinks about maintaining his distance from you. Maybe it would be better for him to stay far away, but then again, if the two of you have to stay in the same house, it will be difficult to avoid you. In the end, Belphie decides to apologize to you, and if you forgive him, he will talk to you; if not, he will stay away from you. Whatever makes you happy.
Tumblr media
You are talking about the TSL competition, aren’t you? He nearly attacked you for knowing more than him about something he is passionate about, but what else could he do? Levi feels useless when it comes to everything but ask him anything about TSL, and he will tell you anything.
So when you won against him in the only thing he is good at, he couldn’t stop himself from flying into a rage. Levi is glad Lucifer stopped him that day; otherwise, he would have lost a dear friend. But if you’re mad at him, does this mean you are no longer his friend? Moreover, are you still upset with him?
Levi feels really bad for adding to your pain and wishes he could go back in time and stop himself from trying to attack you.
Did you seriously have to say Mammon is the best? He’s not bad, but he always gets everyone into trouble, doesn’t think once before he acts, and borrows money, which he never returns. Then again, he isn’t any better than Mammon.
Levi wants to help you overcome all the trauma you have faced but doesn’t know how. After hearing what you said, his mind is even more blank than usual.
Tumblr media
Ouch. You didn’t have to be so harsh with your words, and to add to it, you called Mammon number one.
He tried to charm you, but his powers do not affect you whatsoever, so why were you paranoid? He can understand if he was able to charm you, but he can’t.
Asmo is hurt by you grouping him with his brothers who tried to attack you. He has never once tried to hurt you, yet here you are, pointing fingers at him. Though he didn’t deny that you had been through a lot, he could have helped you far more than he did.
His views about you did change once he found out you were related to the human version of his sister. Why? Asmo started to consider you like family - would you have preferred he kept treating you like a stranger?
Asmo has a hard time digesting your words and keeps his distance from you for a while. It will take him a while to get over your not-necessarily true accusation.
Tumblr media
Satan knows he has caused you a lot of trauma by going into complete rage mode, be it at you or around you. He also knows he has no right to make excuses, but he is the Avatar of Wrath - it’s his sin, and he sometimes cannot control it.
He wants to say you are wrong about Mammon being the best, but if he looks at your point of view, yeah, Mammon would be the best - he is always there for you and takes care of you.
As for the Lilith connection, Satan never met Lilith and has no connections to her, so he doesn’t care one bit about it. He sees you for who you are, nothing more, nothing less.
He will be more careful not to lose control of his temper for your sake, if not for anything else. Hopefully, you can forgive him for the things he has done in the past.

What would the Seven's parents think if they found out what had become of their kids?
...ANON, JUST TAKE MY HEART, I DON'T NEED IT ANYMORE.
I'm going to answer this prompt with posthumous family (or in Ruixiong’s case, dearest friend and mentor) in general, because not everyone has parents of any note or even to speak of, but I do want to write up how their loved ones would react to seeing what the people they care about become. Also, for some of the Crew, their relationships are stronger with their siblings than they are with their parents, so I feel there is heavier emotional gravitas that is of greater note.
TL;DR: for the most part, they would be very unhappy. Even grieving, because it means they would not be reunited in the next life. Spoilered because of specific death details I otherwise was going to reveal later, but hell, I’ll do it.
Under the assumptions they are watching from Heaven/ Hell/ Purgatory/ Sheol/ what have you:
Jordi, Cristobella, and Carles Frances (Josep)
Cristobella (mother) would be crying her eyes out, perhaps blaming herself she wasn't there enough to save her second son from a fate worse than her first son. Even with all her efforts to keep him from succumbing to his Wrath, from taking him away from Barcelona to Venice, or how she was willing to play politics to keep Josep from being punished for stabbing the Castilian noble. To be there and warn him against the Devil of the Sea.
Carles (older brother) would do the same and more, telling Josep that as much as he is disappointed in his baby brother, he understands why he chose the path of Wrath. From wherever he is, he is hoping against hope, praying against all odds, that Josep finds a way to free himself from the Master’s pact. He is grateful, however, that despite Josep’s current circumstances, he maintains his vow to always be kind.
Jordi (father) could care less. He is more than happy to see his disappointment of a son burn in Hell for eternity. Very likely he is egging Josep’s adversaries to finish the goddamn job and end him for good.
Antonio; Marianna; Gregorio and Lorenzo Vespuci (Giovanni)
Antonio (father) saw it coming. That doesn’t mean it wouldn’t break his heart further. Every time Giovanni would do something immoral, he is weeping over him, over his own failure as a father. How all his work amounted to nothing for all his sons, and that even with the promise he made them make at his deathbed, it still resulted in a greater tragedy than he could predict. All he can ask for from God is to lessen Giovanni’s pain and that wherever he is going won’t cause him anymore suffering than he is already going through.
Marianna (mother) forgot she even had a third son. Eh. Good for him she guesses? OH WAIT, THAT LOUD BLOB OF FLESH. Eh. Cancer is good to be rid of, right?
Gregorio and Lorenzo (older brothers) are both in a place where Giovanni and anyone, really, with access to the Devil’s Eye can communicate. Every day they are suffering, every day they are being punished for the deeds they did to Gio in the cellar. Adding to it is watching Giovanni (and Josep) do deeds they wouldn’t have done if they chose to be better family. Like Antonio, all they can pray for is less pain. As they are stuck in the Eye, they are uncertain if Giovanni can be released at all either.
Pierre Duchamp; Gisela and Noelle Ben Ghiat Duchamp (Phoebus and Guy)
Pierre (stepfather) is out of the picture entirely, likely blotting out any memory of the Ben Ghiat family he ran out of. If confronted of Phoebus and Guy, he will deny them and pretend he doesn’t know them.
Abadian (birth father) cannot be accounted for.
Gisela (mother) would be actively crying over the Twins, with Gisela wishing she can just come back to the living and give her boys a hug. Tell Phoebus he doesn’t have to pour his soul out to anything or anyone who won’t appreciate him. Tell Guy she loves him for who he is and will love whoever he loves. They’ll even get out of France together if they could, and try to be a family with Noelle and have a happier and brighter future. Alas.
Noelle (younger sister) would be uncertain how to feel about her brothers, especially Phoebus, the brother she is less close with. With Guy, she cries over, but Phoebus? She is hoping for God for guidance. But for certain she wouldn’t want to separate the Twins more than they are already.
Zahid; Rashid’s brothers; Sukhbir Kaur and Assad al-Basir (Rashid)
Zahid (father) would not be surprised but still be deeply disappointed. He’d go with other sons and leave so they won’t have to watch Rashid rot.
Sukhbir (wife) and Assad (son) actually would be horrified to see Rashid as he has become. Not surprised either, but given they would have passed, now there is nothing they could do to convince him to back out on the pact. It was unfair, it was made out of a moment when Rashid had no sense of clarity. Sukhbir may even offer to come back if it meant he wouldn’t sell his soul, but Assad would tell his mother no. It’s Rashid’s choice. Right now, Assad would look upon his descendants (Amir and Omar in the main story) to see if they can get Rashid freed somehow so they can be a family again once Rashid’s time on Earth has come to an end.
Agyenim; Maanu and Maansa; Adjoa, Yaa, Afia, Akua, Amba, and Akosua Kofi (Abena)
Agyenim (father), Maanu (birth mother), and Maansa (second mother) were already deeply sorrowful for the fate of the sisters, but their regrets and sorrows were the greatest in Abena. They watched her start of darkness in Santo Domnigo and Tortuga and can only scream for her to stop with each step of the way, only for their cries to fall on deaf ears. Upon selling her soul to the Master, they stopped crying out for her. Their hearts became stone because any semblance of hope has been lost after it has been betrayed over and over again. They want to believe. They just don’t know if they can.
The sisters (Adjoa to Akosua), they wouldn’t be surprised for Abena selling her soul. Of the sisters, Akua and Ambia (elder half-sisters) pray that Abena’s descent into next life brings forth a greater hunger than any in the realm of the dead would suffer and that it is painful and excruciating. Only Adjoa (full older sister) has any hope and prayer that Abena seeks redemption and frees herself from the Master.
San-Gwong and Father Fu-Lam
Upon his soul ripped from his mortal coil and used to empower the Eye, San-Gwong (close friend) would be initially confused over Ruixiong but come to learn how and why he is here. For much of the story, he is mostly focused on his younger brother Sing-Lung and hoping he wouldn’t fall into the trap of Wrath or else he will be stolen too. But for Ruixiong? He is already forgiven the moment the blade was raised to end him. Even from within the Devil’s Eye, San-Gwong is urging can calling out to Ruixiong to let go of his Pride and his bondage to the Master. God will forgive. The Heavens is more than willing to let rehabilitate him. Please just let go and don’t give the Master anymore power!
Father Fu-Lam (傅臨) (mentor) is on the same boat. Fu-Lam was able to infer that Ruixiong and his Crew were demonically-empowered immortals and did what he could to get them, especially Ruixiong, to leave their pact behind. What happened to him was predicted, however, and he accepted his fate. He still stands by this hope that Rui and the others will leave the Master behind as he is in the Devil’s Eye as a soul being used against his will. He continues to pray for Ruixiong, hoping to stand against time that Rui will find redemption. He won’t give up on him like others have before him.

since the first part was so well-received (please do put her in your pocket shes small) here's some act 3 stuff involving her lore:
ACT 3 SPOILERS AND PERSONAL PLOT SUMMARY BELOW:
The woman that took her in on Gwyneth is actually a sorcerer who was similarly to Lilenia, forced into an arranged marriage. However, she was betrayed by her lover and cast into Avernus and given to a powerful devil in exchange for power. Given millions of years of time, she usurps the devil and gains part of her power, manifesting as a dark red flaming chain around her neck. She travels back to the material plane and conceals her nature and the chain with magic. She travels aimlessly looking for her lover, and eventually runs into a woman on Gwyneth, Maya, who she falls in love with and who convinces her to settle down. They accidentally form a habit of inviting all the refugees coming from the mainland, regardless of age. They have their own little settlement in the valley, largely unbothered by external affairs. But then her lover ages, or to her, withers, and she is not content to stand and watch while she is robbed of love yet again. She grants Maya a link of the chain on her neck and asks her to enter into a pact. Maya agrees. This escalates. She grants links to all within the settlement, and fully assumes her role as warlock patron. She's not unkind, or vindictive, but she bears an eternity's worth of hatred. Her relationship with her benefactors is in part transactional: they no longer age (and gain warlock powers, should they choose to accept her) but she has a small army of spellcasters at her fingertips, ready to be swayed by her magic and a volatile moral compass.
The important details of this are:
The magic on Lilenia's chain link is suppressed by the prism. This leads to an interesting confrontation when Raphael tempers its power and the chain burns up again. A confrontation between Mother Anastasia and Raphael would also be hilarious, because she killed a devil once and she'll be damned if she doesn't do it again.
"Your child signed a contract-"
"nuh uh"
"fuck you mean 'nuh uh'"
*chanting* Bardlock! Bardlock! (Only in act 3 though!)
*also chanting* The horrific realization you have accidentally sworn servitude to the one person you believed you could unconditionally trust who hasn't done anything to hurt you but very much could and you will never be free from! The horrific realization you have accidentally sworn servitude to the one person you believed you could unconditionally trust who hasn't done anything to hurt you but very much could and you will never be free from!
i also have a scene in mind with mother nr 2 but that one's less significant than All That
OH I AM IN LOVE WITH LILENIA’S STORY!!!
I love how people in this fandom give so much thought and depth to their Tav’s backstory. (I’m also loving how both of our Tav’s are taken in by women they believe they can unconditionally trust.)
If you ever end up writing anything for Lilenia’s story, I would absolutely love to read it! Her story really has depth that would be interesting to explore.
and yes omg, all and any asks about Lilenia will always be well-received.

ROUND 1: POLL #2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ROUND 1 ALL POLLS [HERE]
PROPAGANDA BELOW
Juno Steele x Peter Nureyev:
[SPOILER] They're actually insane the had crazy gay sex the second episode and spent the rest of the currently five seasons recovering. They were divorced and then they got married and then they got divorced again and nureyev is trying SO hard to stay divorced but Juno WILL NOT ALLOW IT [END SPOILER] it's all spoilers for everything past the second episode basically

OBEY ME! LESSON 59 DETAILED SUMMARY + DISCUSSION/THEORIES
*I wrote this days after the lesson was first posted and never bothered to go back and edit it so meaning there will be me theorizing about the next lesson as well
*I write a small para for each chapter and I write it immediately after finishing that chapter so there’ll be theorizing about the next chapter too
*I swear more than usual here
*Some of the dialogue is heavily plagiarized and a few is lifted directly from the story, the game is to figure which is which.
*Summaries and Discussions/theories for all the other lessons can be found on this blog under #obey me spoilers or #my theories or #my headcanons
There’s spoilers for The Arcana down there too in the 6th para…. Don’t ask me how or why it just happened
Asmo greets them in the morning and they have normal breakfast/early morning talk sprinkled in with things like how great the waffle maker is and ‘get a cuppa coffee yourself it’s just a button on the espresso machine’ and ‘remember when Satan thought the Roomba was a vehicle was cats?’. Satan blushes and says he meant it can ALSO be used as a cat vehicle but Levi says they all know that’s BS. Lucifer already looking tired tells Levi to sit down and eat and that Beel’s got whipped cream around his mouth. MC, now power crazy after becoming a legit sorcerer, uses their magic to make a napkin float and wipe Beel’s mouth. Beel blushes and thanks them. Belphie says it’s impressive that they don’t need to recite an incantation to use simpler magic. Mammon comes down half asleep and yawning and nearly trips over the cat’s vehicle when MC uses wordless magic to create a gust of him to pick him up and drop him on the couch. Lucifer praises them for it and Mammon snaps at them to be gentler next time they do something similar. Belphie asks if getting the full seal means anything has changed in MC’s magic and they say they can use more spells in this world now. Mammon says ‘cool just don’t use it to send me flying about again’. Beel asks if they can use summoning magic. Satan says it’s not the type of thing novices can do and even though Solomon will teach it to them now it’ll take a lot of practice. Lucifer tells them to start practicing soon and Asmo remembers the rest of them will be leaving soon (ugh I knew this was coming but I still hate it). Mammon asks if they really have to go back. If they can’t stay here longer and call it a homestay. Beel and Levi agree saying there’s more food/anime events here they want to experience. Lucifer tells them all to quiet down and eat breakfast, MC’s quiet an contemplates having to say goodbye again soon.
In Levi’s room he’s playing Devil Crossing and gushing over it. Asmo says he doesn’t get the game at all and Levi (kinda) explains why it’s so great. Satan asks Crowe to play the theme for “Another Purrrfect Day for Kitties in the Devildom” at max volume. Levi asks if Satan did that to be mean and he says the two of them were being so loud he couldn’t read his book, Levi tells him to go read in his room then. Beel tells Crowe he’s hungry and they say they’ll send a snack recipe to his DDD, Beel says forget snack and to send him one for a huge amount of food. Levi scolds him for ordering crowe around when they belong to him and Asmo says he thinks they should ask Barbatos to connect this house and the HoL together via portals so that they could visit whenever, and that it’d be the best example for friendly relations between their worlds. MC says they don’t know if Diavolo would agree and Levi agrees with them. Belphie says when Diavolo talks about peace and harmony between the three worlds he doesn’t think he means visiting the human world whenever. And Levi agrees with that. Asmo asks what makes them so sure and that they’re no fun at all. Satan says the two angels will probably stay here for longer. Asmo asks why angels et to stay and they don’t. Beel asks why they were sent down to the human world in the first place. Belphie says probably for the same reason they were sent to the Devilom – to learn about the world. Mammon comes to the door asking if MC’s there and they reply, he asks if they all never get sick of gaming (isn’t he the one who has weekly gaming nights with Levi, MC and sometimes Beel?). He tells MC they need to go to the angel’s halo asap cause Lucifer needs to deliver something to Barbatos. Belphie says that Lucifer probably told Mammon to do it and he’s heaping it on MC. Mammon tells him to stay quiet, that he’s busy and MC’s free. They don’t get much of a choice but I like to think they put up some token protest.
On the way they run into Diavolo and ask him where’s headed. He says he’s on the way back from the market. He asks where they’re going and when they reply he says he’ll join them as he’s craving Simeon’s coffee. They tell him that they heard about them all having to head home soon, he says he wants to stay longer but the new term at RAD is starting. He says they don’t need to feel sad though cause as a sorcerer all they need to do is learn summoning magic. He laughs and says that he’s never heard of a sorcerer summoning demons to their side just to hang out though. He says he knows Solomon can be a drill sergeant but he knows MC can do it and to hang in there. MC says that’s cool and all but I want to meet up with you too. He thanks them for saying that and says he feels the same and is sad that they won’t be able to see each other but without a pact between them they can’t summon him. And MC who has bigger balls than I could ever imagine having, whose bluntness gives me anxiety irl says cool so let’s forge a pact (WHEEZEEEE. You can’t just say that!? He’s the ruler of an entire dimension he can’t be under your control you dumbfuck I’m- Pls stop saying the first thing that comes to your mind! That moment in S2 where Diavolo and Solomon were acting all secretive and shady and MC just goes up to Solomon and says I wanna know the secret too still gives me anxiety. Fucking stop have some subtlety pls) And they don’t even ask it as a question? They just say “I’d like to forge a pact with you.” Ugh. I love MC but I could never be them. Diavolo, as expected, is stunned and speechless. He then bursts out laughing and later apologizes for it saying he didn’t mean to laugh and it just took him by surprise cause not even Solomon has had the guts to ask him that (You just know if the demon king was up and active MC’d just walk up to him and demand a pact too). And that he is happy they said that. He then gets serious and says he can’t cause as the future demon king he has his position to think of (Do you think the demon king will ever wake up? Or pass away? I mean Diavolo’s already doing his job I feel like this is something that can’t stay stagnant in the long run. And the demon king waking up would be an interesting storyline cause he’d technically outrank Diavolo but it was Diavolo who called the truce with the Celestial Realm so the last he knew the Devildom was still stuck in a war with the Celestial Realm, Lucifer and his brothers were still angels and humans were probably still on the menu…) Diavolo says though they can’t forge a pact he’ll always be there when they needed him and tells them not to forget that.  They can then hold his hand or put their arm through his. If they hold hands he asks if they can hold hands the rest of the way to the café and if they don’t mind that it feels a bit like a date. If they link arms he blushes and ask if they could slow down a bit cause it’s nice to walk through town together.
Luke and Simeon greet them at the café. Barbatos is surprised to see Diavolo but thanks MC for the delivery. After Simeon brings the coffee he’s told about the start of the new term at RAD. Luke is surprised that Lucifer and the brothers are leaving and asks if this means Diavolo will be going too, Diavolo says that as sad as it is they will have to. Luke looks really sad and says “…oh…” and says he hoped at least he’d be able to stay longer. This initially shocks Diavolo before he says he wishes so too but that in addition to the new term he has lots of personal business to take care of as well. Luke then asks if Barbatos will be leaving too. He says his place is at Diavolo’s side and he must follow him wherever he goes. Luke seems even more upset and doesn’t reply. Simeon says he understands that Luke is upset but if he keeps looking that sad it’ll only make it harder for everyone else. Luke blushes and says he’s not sad and that all he was thinking about was how boring it’d be without all of them around causing trouble. MC asks if the two angels will still be there. Simeon says they will be able to still each other and Luke cheers, Simeon then says it’ll still be sad that they won’t be able to see everyone whenever they want to, Luke blushes and insist he’s not sad. MC suggests throwing a farewell party. Diavolo thinks it’s a great idea and Simeon suggests calling it a ‘till we meet again party’ saying it has a nicer ring to it. (I really really love how far they’ve all come since S1, that they’ve all made this mix and match chaotic friend group and that they’re all really sad that they won’t be able to hang out as a group anymore). Diavolo becomes very excited about doing “the thing”, “the thing?” asks Luke, “ah the thing…” says Barbatos. Simeon’s surprised that Barbatos can actually understand Diavolo and Barbatos says it’s because they’ve known each other for so long. Luke says being a butler is like having superpowers.
On the way home MC runs into Solomon, they ask him where he’s heading, he’s says he’s heading over to the café for a cuppa. He asks if something good happened to them, and then specifies and says he’s not using some sorcerer’s clairvoyance to see that cause their expression is telegraphs it. They tell him about the party and he says it sounds fun. He then tells them he’s been thinking about where they go from here and how to improve as a sorcerer they’ll need training, and he asks what sort of magic they’d like to specialize in, in the future. A.) Summoning magic – he says that makes sense cause it was why they wanted to become his apprentice/a sorcerer in the first place. B.) Healing magic (which MC used once in S2 without even having to be taught after observing Satan doing it just once – given their protective nature I’d think they’d be good at it) – He says that sounds like something they’d want to learn. C.) Badass attack spells (which they used against Diavolo’s kidnapper) – He says he’d be happy to teach them but asks he exactly they’re planning to fight (the way in S1 the answer would have genuinely been Lucifer is so funny to me for some reason). He says as a novice there’s a lot they need to learn about the magical arts and not just the spells but its history and origin in the three worlds. He says in order to master the stronger spells you need to understand its origin and relevant background. And that it might not be a bad idea to go back to RAD to study these things (the way my hopes soared at this, the way I got giddy imagining starting S4 already in the Devildom after MC leaves at the end of S3), then Solomon gets sad saying if they’re around the brothers he’d get to spend less time with them (BRO leave aside your jealousy and do what’s right for your student! If they need to be around 7pretty boys who just so happen to be in love with them, to study then that’s what needs to be done, I have no biases here I swear!) MC says they’ll do whatever he thinks is best (or they can say that he’s special to them and no one else will make them feel what he does). He’s surprised that they’d leave the decision up to him and says he’ll give it more thought and choose what’s best for them. He then hands them a ring. He says it’s a sorcerer’s ring and that cause they have the ring of light protecting them (aka stopping them from going super nova and destroying all three worlds) they don’t technically need another talisman but he wants to give this to them. They thank him (or they ask if it’s okay if they kiss him). He says they ‘re welcome and says that as his student and his apprentice they deserve nothing less and that they’re important to him (wonder if S4 will give insight to his first apprentice). He says there’s still so much he has to teach them and that he’s looking forward to it and that he’s happy to have them at his side.
Even from outside the manor MC can hear Levi and Mammon arguing. Mammon’s apparently got a part-time job in the human world and yesterday for payday and Levi wants his money back (and okay this is a question I’ve always had…where does Levi get his money from?????? As far as ik Mammon’s the only one with a stable part-time job but Levi always seems to have so much money? Not only is he able to spend a lot on akuzon but he always has money to spare for Mammon??? Where the fuck is he getting it from? Also does Diavolo pay Lucifer?) Mammon says he already spent it all and Levi says he wishes he would keel over and die, Mammon tells him to shut up and show his older brother some respect, Mammon tries to run away and Levi summons Lotan right as MC steps inside (Do you think Lotan ever gets tired of being summoned into small cramped spaces for no reason?) Mammon screams and asks why kinda idiot summons a sea monster inside a house, Levi screams at MC to watch out as (guessing by the noise) MC’s swept back outside the house by a tidal wave. In the bathroom, Levi’s sobbing and apologizing to MC, he says he was so pissed at Mammon he lost his cool, MC asks if they should be fighting like that as brothers, and he says they weren’t “fighting” fighting and the way I’ve said this same thing multiple times to my mother as a kid/teenager is…. Levi then says Mammon’s the worst cause he keeps buying things through crowe without asking Levi, he says that no matter how many times he changes his password Mammon keeps guessing it, MC tells him to stop using TSL passwords, he’s surprised that they figured it out as well (I mean…) He suggests they combine a word to make his new password -  something related to a special date or time and they spend more time in the bathroom bouncing words off each other until they come up with the perfect one. Levi blushes and says it feels special to have a password only the two of them know. IF you tell him it’s cause their relationship is special he asks them to keep telling him that he’s different from the others so that he’ll feel less anxious and that he wishes he could stay with them forever and that they could be a family and MC asks if he’s proposing to them and that’s when I screamed HOLY SHIT and noped outta there because HOLY SHIT!!!??? S2 the last two lessons was MC going around collecting special items from the brothers, is S3 gonna be them going around tryinta have a shotgun wedding with one of them so that they don’t have to stay in the human realm??? God MC’s so fucking proactive I could never. Remember early in S2 when MC told Mammon things would be easier if he just admitted to being in love with them!??? It’s the same with The Arcana and Last Legacy MC’s too??? Last Legacy’s MC is such a fucking little shit I actually prefer them over the LIs but the way they’re so forward scared me like YES she’s super pretty but she’s also holding a sword to your throat should you really be flirting with her rn!? And The Arcana’s MC is on a whole other level (specifically in Julian’s route) like this is the second time you’re meeting him why the FUCK are you trying to strip search him on your doorstep in broad daylight WHILE he’s wanted for a murder YOU were hired to investigate!? Or better yet this is just the third time you’re meeting him why the fuck are you pinning him to a wall and pressing your palm into his open wound on the off chance he turns out to be a masochist!?? Actually wait. MC had known Julian for possibly years and worked closely with him for sometime before shit went down and they both lost their memories of each other, but after meeting again even without memories they both realized the other was familiar to them so do you think it’s possible some deep unconscious part of MC that already knew it sparked the strong hunch in MC that Julian was a masochist??? BACK TO OM! MC can also say it’s all in levi’s head (a little too harsh for my taste but whatever) Levi says he’s lost his happy moment - crushed into teeny tiny pieces and that of course he’s the only one that feels like it’s special. He sniffles. (CAN’T WE SAY IT’S SPECIAL IN A FRIEND WAY!?)
In the kitchen Beel is trying to get Belphie to eat celery by offering to juice it and mix it with other stuff so you can’t taste it (I’ve never had celery but someone said it was like water but crunchy which doesn’t sound that bad?) MC asks what they’re up to, they’re using the juicer to make juice and are trying to decide what to add to it. Belphie says they’re making fresh fruit juice and want something a little extra and ask MC what they think should be added. “Celery,” says MC. Because they’re a shithead and I like to think this is revenge for that one time in S1…y’know what I’m talking about. Beel likes the juice, Belphie says he cans still taste the celery >:) Despite only making juice the kitchen’s an absolute mess and they’re all about to clean it before Lucifer sees when Belphie hears the ice cream truck. Belphie says he’s never bought anything from the ice cream truck before and Beel says he can go check it out and when Belphie brings up cleaning the kitchen Beel volunteers MC and himself to do it (y’know MC should really start putting their foot down) Once Belphie runs after the truck Beel says that Belphie being unable to stop himself from checking out something fun has never changed. Beel asks if they want the remaining fruit. They can ask him to feed it to them or say he can have it. After the second option he eats it before they can even get their whole answer out. He then gets sad about how after he leaves they won’t be able to do stuff like this again. He asks if there’s something they can do so that they can stay this way together. (MC can ask to take their relationship to the next level) MC says they can be made part of the family leaving whatever that means up to Beel’s interpretation (watch Beel go up to Lucifer and ask him to sign the adoption papers of a fully grown adult human being). He agrees that this could work and says while he already thinks of them as family that alone wouldn’t be enough to make it official. And says they should ask Belphie and that together the three of them will have to think of something. He says eventually they’ll think of a good way to keep them all together forever. He then tells them he’ll put the dirty towels in the laundry room and that he’ll catch up with them and Belphie later.
Outside Belphie hands them one of three ice creams and says they should head to the pool, they ask about Beel and Belphie says he’ll just follow the smell of ice cream (does ice cream have a smell? Like even a faint one? I mean it must right?) Belphie says that the twins also have a way of always knowing where the other is because they know each other the best, he says though it’s fainter he’s also sort of able to tell where the other 5 are and what they’re doing. And recently it’s become the same with MC as it is with the others. MC asks if it’s because they’re all family. He laughs and says that’s probably it. Before amending it and saying he’s sure that’s the reason. Belphie says that the brothers – Specially Mammon and after Belphie pauses to give it some thought, Asmo – would be thrilled about MC officially becoming family. MC – cheeky lil shit that they are – asks if only his brothers would be happy. He tells them of course he’d be happy and he asks them if they want a bite of his ice cream (they can ask to be fed it), they tell him no, it’s okay. He asks if they don’t like the flavour and then Beel shows up. Belphie says, “see when you’re family, you just know.” And When Beel asks what they’re talking about he smiles and says nothing.
So that’s the semi last lesson and then we’re done and each time they have to get separated again I feel so emotional but this time I feel like S3 really set up S4 with all this talk about the angels and Lucifer and Simeon’s worst fear and Simeon’s backstory and Simeon and Luke’s purpose in the human world, and possibly Solomon’s backstory too and maybe even Barbatos and just ugh I’m so excited for season 4 and the last lesson of S3 hasn’t even been released yet???

Fear Street: 1978 comes out tomorrow! Who’s ready?!
As let down as I was to see the significant changes from the series it’s supposed to be based on, we all know I can’t resist a good twisted mystery, and Sarah Fier’s curse definitely counts as that.
I should probably give 1994 a rewatch, but here are just a few things that stood out to me the first time:
***Spoilers for 1994 below***
Sam Fraser and C. Berman are different.
We meet several people whom Sarah Fier has driven to kill throughout the first movie: Ryan in present day, the masked Camp Nightwing killer in 1978, and Ruby Lane in 1965. But if Sarah’s only goal is to find a new puppet to start a massacre every few years, then why go after Sam when she already has Ryan, who she can control even after death? Why does she continue to haunt C. Berman? I’ve seen some people theorize about Sam having the same initials as Sarah Fier, but that doesn’t track for C. Berman unless she changed her name. It could just be that she sees them as unfinished business: Sam disturbed her grave, and C. is the one Nightwing survivor. I think it’s possible that there’s some other connection between them, but it’s hard to say without knowing yet whether Sarah targeted C. the way she targeted Sam, or whether C. was just another random victim.
There’s more to the story of Sarah Fier.
Naturally, when I hear the story of a witch who cursed a good pastor and compelled him to cut out children’s eyes, my first thought is that Pastor Cyrus Miller took advantage of the witch hysteria and used an innocent woman as a scapegoat for his own evil deeds, sentencing her to death and turning her into an evil spirit. It’s a pretty classic twist, but in this case I’m not sure things will be so simple, and that’s because of the books. Whether Sarah Fier is an evil witch or a vengeful victim, it’s still quite a role reversal from the origin story in The Fear Street Saga.
I won’t spoil much, but in that trilogy, things start in 1692 with the death of sweet Susannah Goode, accused of witchcraft by Benjamin Fier because he didn’t want his son to marry someone so poor. The Fiers were cursed for his greed, igniting a feud between the two families. The next books span over 200 years, detailing several murderous meetings, the change of the name Fier to Fear, and the point at which the Fear family moves to Shadyside and establishes Fear Street.
So, yes, very different premise, but I’m still looking for some connection. Theoretically, with Sarah Fier’s death occurring before the first events in the books, they could actually add onto the lore and say that she was from another branch of the Fier family and the Fears who move to Shadyside later do so because they used to have family there. But I think that’s quite a stretch. Still, since the entire point of the novels is the feud between the Fears and Goodes, and the Goode family still seems to exist in the movie universe, I’m really pulling for a tie-in.
Which brings me to...
The Goodes have something to do with Sunnyvale’s darkness.
Shadyside and Sunnyvale are opposites in every way. Shadyside is poor; Sunnyvale is rich. Shadyside is the murder capital of the country; Sunnyvale has no crime to speak of. Shadyside is haunted by Sarah Fier; Sunnyvale’s mayor is William Goode. So, maybe I’m onto something with looking at the blood feud from the books. At the very least, we know that Nick Goode, fairly neutral sheriff of both towns and William’s brother (another subtle nod to the books), knows more than he’s let on so far—and so does whoever he slipped that note to.
The other clue to a feud is the fact that Shadyside and Sunnyvale used to be one colony. It was even called Union. Symbolism, anyone? And continuing on that train of thought is the fact that while Shadyside’s mascot is a witch, Sunnyvale—bright, lovely Sunnyvale run by the Goodes where no crime ever happens—has a devil mascot.
Now, back in Sarah’s time, people believed that witches served the devil, so what does this connection mean? It doesn’t seem crazy to say that the citizens of Sunnyvale (the Goodes in particular) might have made a pact with the devil in exchange for good fortune, and it could make sense that they sacrificed Sarah Fier to do it. Maybe Sarah truly is just the devil’s servant, forced to kill the people in Shadyside as sacrifices for Sunnyvale’s continued prosperity. Actually, if that is the real story, I’d bet that Pastor Cyrus Miller was actually the devil himself, summoned by the Goodes and given the children as payment. Maybe Sarah was an innocent woman they burned as a scapegoat, or maybe she was the witch they asked to summon the devil, and then they killed her so no one would know what they’d done. Or, maybe what divided the town was Sarah somehow breaking her “union” with the devil. Perhaps she refused to do as he asked.
Or maybe I’m completely wrong. But I do think the actual devil is involved somehow. The fact that Sarah was killed in 1666 is just too cheesy and dumb for the writers to have chosen it randomly. I also just don’t believe that the whole nursery rhyme story of Sarah making “good men her wicked slaves” can be taken for truth. I really want the lyrics to actually be about Goode men.

Cosmology blurb
Mulling over ideas for a fanfic series set in the Celestial Realm and realizing I may need to make some educated guesses about how things work. I figure I’d share my observations. Spoilers ahead.
I’m thinking the realms aren’t sandwiched/stratified on top of each other but are arranged more like this...
... if Lilith didn’t have to fall through the human realm to get to the Devildom and if the heavenly gates are accessible from the Devildom (implied when MC is transported there from the Devildom). There are obviously Celestial-Human and Devildom-Human access points in the story, too.
Traditionally, Heaven is upstairs and Hell is downstairs. But, while clearly inspired by these places, the Devildom is not actually Hell and the Celestial Realm is not actually Heaven. I mean, they’re not even named that.
They each have their own seperate skies with different constellations/celestial bodies (Devildom doesn’t have a sun and the other two realms do, and they have Belphie’s/Beel’s stars). Clearly the act of falling from the Celestial Realm to the Devildom is at least a metaphorical thing, but it’s implied to be literal, too.
I don’t think it matters a whole heckuvalot, but it’s interesting to think about.
Angel versus Devil society
Looking at what small details we have, the way these two realms have evolved and currently function is also very interesting.
The Devildom is a monarchy while the Celestial Realm may be an autocracy with a caste system (I think the Devildom probably does, too, just by the nature of feudalism but it may not be officially acknowledged). Previous Demon Kings have lived and died (there’s a tomb and a line of succession) while the Celestial Realm presumably remained ruled by the same entity throughout time.
That’s pretty interesting, too. Demon Kings are not immortal. Diavolo, however, is likely stronger than Lucifer -- it makes sense that he has to be if he’s actually meant to replace his father.
The Celestial Realm’s caste system has Luke at the lowest rank, some kind of middle or multiple ranks, and Michael at the top rank. Lucifer used to occupy the same rank alongside him.
Christian angelology has multiple very detailed and convoluted hierarchies regarding angels, and for that reason it's probably much more simplified in the game. It already deviates from the typical choir arrangement by having archangels be the top rank when they're normally near the bottom, and giving them the six wings of the seraphim (the top choir).
We're not given much insight as to whether or not angels are born into these ranks or if they ascend them through good works and valor in battle or something. Lucifer being so utterly flawless seems to suggest he was born with it, but Luke complaining about being in the lowest rank suggests that there may be some way for him to change that arrangement and it may simply be a consequence of his (lack of) age and experience. Simeon also mentioning Michael may be of higher rank but he's still "a normal angel" may also allude to that. It could be a variation, where everyone starts at the same level but Lucifer and Michael were specifically given a greater share of angelic power so they were meant to get to the top and that inevitably happened. Or maybe angels gain xp and levels in fights with the demons and they managed to become head and shoulders above the rest by being better gamers.
Also, the legion of angels.
Tumblr media
A legion is a military or semimilitary unit. That is an interesting term to call what may also double as your governing body outside of daddy. The game mentions Michael was in charge of Mammon’s “training” before he was handed over to Lucifer, and well...
Tumblr media
Michael is usually depicted and referred to as a protector and the leader of the army of God against the forces of evil, and it seems he reprises that role in this universe. Lucifer once did, too.
Tumblr media
A fundamental part of “angel training” may revolve around warfare and training for it. We know the angels and demons have had a long, bloody history, but fighting doesn’t seem to be a part of RAD’s curriculum. The Celestial Realm may have changed it’s course now that they’ve entered a period of relative peace, but I’m not entirely sure.
So far the only in-game lore detail we have related to the actual fighting is the colosseum being destroyed in a battle before the creation of RAD, but it’s proof that the angels have invaded the Devildom at some point. It might have went vice-versa, too, and we simply haven’t observed it because we haven’t been in the Celestial Realm for more than two minutes.
In spite of all this, it doesn’t seem like angel society is wholly bad. It’s likely rigid and hierarchical, but it is also strangely communal. The brothers have all fostered close bonds with each other within the Celestial Realm -- not the Devildom -- and the angels in the story seem to maintain their positive opinion of Lucifer and his brothers in spite of him sparking a civil war and them now being demons. How the angels treat each other is also noteworthy: Simeon and Luke clearly love each other and have a healthy relationship, by all accounts Michael wholeheartedly supports Luke and gives him positive feedback, and in spite of Luke’s obvious (though changing) prejudice towards all things demon they’re comparatively even-keeled. They generally operate on the assumption that they should help each other and others and that’s a good thing.
They also seem to be onboard with the intent behind exchange program. Luke isn’t sent there to be a spy like Simeon probably was, because he’s pretty terrible at subterfuge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A tacit admission that Luke’s perspective is one commonly held by the denizens of the Celestial Realm. Simeon points out that it’s not entirely bad, and I’m inclined to agree.

And also an acknowledgement that the thinking is flawed and they’re willing to make an effort to expand their horizons (considered a good thing). So something has changed, and it’s probably connected to... well... Lucifer and his brothers falling. Or the Celestial Realm just isn’t a monolith and there’s competing viewpoints even with how their society is structured. It’d be interesting to hear what the brothers thought about demons before they became demons themselves, and how they adjusted to that transformation (we get insight on how Lucifer viewed them via Glory Days, but that’s it.)
The Devildom, in contrast, uh... still has problems in this area outside of Diavolo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is disregarding all the soul devouring, torture, and casual murder that goes on between demons -- including the brothers. Diavolo is well regarded, but he’s also been unofficially in charge for quite awhile and it doesn’t appear he thinks this is a problem, even though he himself doesn’t treat his subjects poorly (as far as I know, anyway).
Which brings me to this...
Tumblr media
There’s a reason he doesn’t really have any close bonds beyond Barbatos and Lucifer, in spite of being universally beloved. And I’m not sure how well he knows Barbatos, honestly. He’s isolated, and it’s not entirely related to his position; Lucifer has been in a high status position in both realms and doesn’t have this problem and never really did in spite of being prickly and anal-retentive af. There’s been quite a bit of commentary in these lessons about how he’s changed and may be reverting back to his angelic tendencies, with Barbatos implying that while it may be good for him and his family, it may not be what’s best for the Devildom... and I think that’s a mindset carried over from his tenure serving under Diavolo’s dad and helping enforce the current state of the Devildom for a specific purpose. MC somehow turning Lucifer and his brothers back into good people (or better people, at least), and Diavolo being envious of their closeness, may interfere with that: the demons around them may start getting ideas, and Diavolo may make more changes.
So not all is well in the Devildom, either, and Diavolo may not be cognizant of how or why. While the Celestial Realm may be a militant society with authoritarian impulses and bigotry, the Devildom sounds like a corrupt monarchy with a dog-eat-dog world underneath that makes trust and love liabilities to survival and keeps the peasants where they are forever. It’s simply another brand of dysfunction.
Hoomans and MC
The Human Realm is probably meant to be some kind of middleground in the dark/bad - light/good spectrum, with its inhabitants having no impulses skewed one way or the other and thus possessing the ability to slide back and forth.
Demons interact with the human world via being summoned, pacts, or simply travelling there. Manipulating them and preying on them involves magical speechcraft. The angels aren’t allowed to reveal their angel forms to humans, travel there without permission (though it seems the punishment for this wasn’t enough to deter Belphie/Beel/Lilith/Mammon), or magically extend their lifespans -- it seems they prefer to meddle in their affairs indirectly, and revolves around shepherding them towards certain (presumably good) decisions. Ironically enough, Michael himself seems to violate these tenets with Solomon, who is evidently aware of who gave him the demon-controlling ring and was invited to chill with him in the Celestial Realm. It’s do as I say but not as I do, apparently.
The game seems to imply that it’s possible that MC inherited Lilith’s angelic tendencies/abilities/memories/whatever after the big reveal, which makes me think she may not have turned into a demon before she was reborn. There’s no reason to think she would have retained her angelic abilities as a demon when her brothers haven’t -- she presumably would have lost them before being reborn, if she was turned into a demon first. Diavolo might have just skipped that step altogether for simplicity’s sake.
But she did technically fall, so ???? Maybe it’s just literally falling from the sky.
tl;dr version: they’re all fucked up and the exchange program is a good way for them to try to get their shit together. And I like how it’s set up.
