Could you write a Sokka x firebender reader that has the plot of the secret tunnel episode but instead of aang and katara getting stuck together it’s him and reader? :)
Don’t Let the Cave In Get You Down
a/n: got two requests for this sokka storyline and i was very excited to write it! i couldn’t find a way to seamlessly include the fire bending part of the request but i could definitely build on that in another piece. hope you enjoy <3
Tumblr media
you met the Gaang when they were passing through a small trading village on the outskirts of the Earth Kingdom
they were low on supplies and in need of a shopping spree, so they stopped at your little food stand in search of fresh fruit and snacks for their travels
you seemed awfully young to have your own business, especially when compared to the other merchants, but you were kind and your prices were affordable
their shopping spree was cut short by the arrival of fire nation soldiers, but you quickly escorted them through the backstreets of the marketplace and helped them evade the soldiers
“That was a close call,” Aang breathed out in relief, “thanks for your help.”
“Those guys are jerks, I couldn’t live with myself if I had just let them capture you.”
“Who are you?” Katara asked in awe.
“My name is y/n, and I’ve been hiding out in this village for about three years now. I escaped from the Fire Nation when I was 12 and never looked back.”
“Wait a minute, Fire Nation?!” Sokka exclaimed before quickly pushing his sister and Aang behind him. Raising his boomerang in a threatening manor, he narrowed his eyes at you. “Is this some kind of trick?! Did you just lure us out here so you could capture Aang and get the reward for yourself?”
“Sokka, you’re being ridiculous!” Katara had scolded angrily, harshly pushing his boomerang away. “She said herself she came here to get away from the Fire Nation, I’m sure she’s just trying to make a better life for herself here and you’re not making that any easier for her by being a jerk!”
“I don’t trust her, Katara!”
You’re a little disheartened by the disdain in his voice when he speaks about you, and despite Katara vouching for you you can see that you’re out of place
“I’m sorry, I’ve made things awkward,” you apologized sheepishly, “I’ll leave you now.”
“Wait!” Aang called, stopping you from going. “If what you said is true then… then I think you should come with us.”
“Tell me you’re joking,” Sokka scoffed in disbelief
“If she’s from the Fire Nation then she must have knowledge about the ins and outs of that place. Maybe she can even help me find a fire bending master. We need her help, Sokka.”
Though he was reluctant and very distrusting of you, Sokka realized Aang was right, so he begrudgingly allowed the airbender to welcome you to their team
You agreed to help as much as you can, and the rest was history
From there on out you’re officially a member of Team Avatar, but that doesn’t mean Sokka becomes any more trusting of you
He always keeps a suspicious eye on you, never letting you help with tasks he deems too important to avoid having you “sabotage” the group
His lack of trust in you hurts, you can’t lie about that, but you continue to do what you can to aid the Avatar and his friends and earn their trust
Of course, this all changes when you get to the cave of two lovers
Unlike Sokka, you found Chong and his group of Nomads to be great fun. They’d braided your hair beautifully with flowers from the lake and performed wonderful songs, so despite your predicament you were in a cheerful mood
Being stuck in the cave had put a strain on your group’s mission to make it to Omashu, but you tried to remain hopeful and help as best as you can
Surprisingly, Sokka even puts you in charge of holding one of the torches
“I’m only giving this to you because I know you’re at least smart enough not to waste resources while we’re in here.”
It’s a start
And it’s a good thing he gave you that torch, because it comes in handy when you both end up getting separated from the rest of the group
“This is just great,” Sokka utters sarcastically after several failed attempts to dig through the rock and get back to the others.
“Come on, Sokka, lighten up. We have a torch and your map, I’m sure we’ll be able to figure something out,” you try to console. “What did Chong say earlier? ‘Don’t let the cave in get you down, Sokka.’”
He’s not amused by your singing
It’s a bit awkward being stuck with the boy who’s been so adamant that you don’t belong despite your best efforts to prove that you can be trusted
You don’t speak much and try to stay out of his way and follow his lead, but the tunnels keep changing and you keep getting lost and your torch is about to burn out, so things are beginning to seem hopeless
“Maybe we should try changing our strategy,” you offer only for Sokka to immediately dismiss you.
“Right, like I’m going to let you lead us through the cave. You’ll probably make us get lost on purpose.”
“You know, if you stopped being so judgmental for a second you’d probably realize that i want to get out of this cave just as much as you do!” You snap irritably, surprising Sokka. you’ve mostly stayed docile to try and keep the peace whenever Sokka accuses you of being untrustworthy, but at this point you’re finally starting to get fed up
“You’re right, I’m sorry,” he says softly, and this time you’re the one who’s surprised. You never thought he’d actually apologize to you, and it’s a nice feeling. “What do you suggest we do?”
“Well,” you start with a sigh, “maybe the story is right. Maybe if we trust in love, we’ll find our way out of here.”
“You’re joking, right?”
“Do you have any better ideas?”
You simply shrug, prompting Sokka to let out a heavy sigh. Your torch is going to run out soon, and his map isn’t doing anyone any favors. It seems you have no choice
“How exactly do we trust in love?”
“I’m not sure… the only love I know is the love I had from my parents, but I haven’t felt it in so long… I’m not sure I ever will again.”
“…What happened to them?”
“My parents were peasants with nothing but love to give each other. They were poor, but they were happy,” you explain with a faint smile. “My father was a fire bender, but he kept his gift hidden in fear he’d be forced to serve in the Fire Nation army. He didn’t want to leave me or my mother, but our home was attacked, and he had no choice but to bend to protect us. Our lives were saved, but he was taken away.”
Sokka hangs on to your every word, eyes glistening with unshed tears and sympathy. Your story is similar to his own, and he knows what it’s like to lose your family to the Fire Nation. He feels less disdain towards you now, more empathetic. He still isn’t 100% sure how to feel about you, but hearing your story makes you easier to understand now
“My mother knew I’d never be safe or happy if I stayed there, so she arranged for me to be smuggled out of the Fire Nation and brought to the trading village you first met me in. I haven’t seen or heard from her since, and I’m not even sure if she or my father are even alive.”
“I’m sorry,” Sokka utters solemnly. “Katara and I lost our mother to the Fire Nation, and we haven’t seen our father since he left to fight in the war. I know how you feel.”
“I don’t want to be Fire Nation, you know. None of this was a choice, and I understand why you don’t trust me but I’m not like them Sokka. Please believe me.”
“I’m sorry for always giving you such a hard time. It’s just… it’s hard to believe people from the Fire Nation can actually be good. But you’ve proven that you can be trusted over and over again, I was just too blind to see it.”
“Can we start over?” He asks with a sheepish smile, carefully sticking his hand out for you to shake. Instead, you push his hand away and throw your arms around him in a tight embrace.
The force of your hug knocks him back a bit, and though he’s unsure at first, he eventually returns your embrace by carefully wrapping his arms around your figure
The fire of your torch slowly begins to die, but neither of you seem to notice or care as you enjoy your moment together
You expect to be engulfed in darkness when the flame goes out, but instead you’re met with the beautiful shimmers of the crystals that line the roofs of the cave
“It’s so beautiful,” you murmur in awe, your eyes sparkling under the light
“Yeah,” your counterpart utters quietly, but he isn’t looking at the crystals
“Was she always this pretty?” Sokka wondered to himself
Together, you’re eventually able to follow the crystals and make your way out of the cave
And when you leave the cave, hands woven tightly together, you leave as two completely new people
You understand each other now, you trust each other
And your relationship will only continue to grow stronger from then on out

Flirty Sparring with Sokka
Pairing: Sokka x Reader
Tags: fluff, established relationship, sparring, flirting, kissing, leg lock
A/N: I wrote a bit for Zuko so it's only right I write for Sokka too.
Tumblr media
The only person on Team Avatar who flirts by sparring
It's not the enjoyment of fighting that draws Sokka to you
But the fact that he's able to get up close and personal without it being out of place
Not shy about flirting or PDA but knows there's a time and place
Which is why he asks you to spar at times no one else is, or at least he hopes so
An interrupted date isn't in his plans
The match quickly becomes a grapling battle
Unfortunately Sokka is more nimble and fast then phisically strong
But that also means he isn't easy to pin down
His other secret weapon, apart from his sword and boomerang that is, is his words
Words of which he has pleanty and can use them to knock you off balance
Thinks it's game over for you once he's got you pinned but he didn't count on that disarming kiss of yours
Nor the leg lock which you used to pull him closer and flip him over, landing you on top and pinning his hands by his side
Could he really call this a loss if he got a kiss from you
Sokka doesn't seem to think so
In his head he's the winner, regardless of his current position

What I truly love most about the DC universe is how stupidly large it is. There are so many different Earths and timelines that you can merge it with another pic of media, and you can justify it by saying it's an entirely different timeline. The DCU is so diverse and wide that its compatible with literally everything.
The MCU? Bruce and Tony know each other due to being billionaire playboys with genius intellect and using their skills to become formidable heroes. Thor and Diana know each other, the League of Assassins is aware of Hydra and the Red Room, etc.
Miraculous Ladybug? Diana and Queen Hyppolita (a former ladybug) know all about the Miraculous and Marinette goes to the Justice League for assistance with Hawkmoth. Given the people they've been up against before, Hawkmoth would fit right in. The addition of the miraculous would be very natural to the DCU.
Danny Phantom? A teenaged boy with ghost powers from another realm ends up in Gotham and starts trolling people is something that would definitely happen in Gotham at some point. It was only a matter of time.
I swear the next DCU & Batman crossover fandom is going to be Avatar the Last Airbender or something. With the Justice League adopting these gremlin children. Bruce "I adopt strays every other week" Wayne would see Katara, Aang, Toph, Zuko, Sokka, and Suki and go "Mine." Sokka cracking jokes with Dick, Zuko and Damian getting on each other's nerves, Katara and Alfred bonding over how they have to keep feral children in check, Toph and Jason trying to declare dominance over each other every other second. Aang going around Gotham and following Bruce while he does Batman things, and surprisingly getting along great with Damian over their love for animals (Damian refuses to admit he got excited when Aang allowed him to ride Appa). The spirits in the atla world won't be so far off base in a world where there are aliens, demons, and demigods walking the earth.
Gothamite criminals everywhere would be getting their asses kicked. Soon Gotham has six more vigilantes, four of which have terrifying elemental abilities and the other two can throw hands. Blue Spirit Zuko throwing hands, Painted Lady Katara thrashing people with water and healing innocents, Blind Bandit Toph crushing people into the dirt, Kyoshi Warrior Suki striking fear in the hearts of hundreds, Boomerang Sokka coming up with these crazy but effective plans that give Batman a whiplash, Avatar Aang greasing anyone who hurts his friends.
And the rest of the Justice League are terrified.
Actually you know what?
alta x dc anyone?

listen and obey
a/n: i gotchu cuties, but i'm almost 80% sure this is the same person bc of the sokka comment and how similar the requests are. just a reminder to look at my rules for requesting.
pairing: dom!lord raiden x amab!reader
warnings: nsfw (MDNI), spanking, blowjobs, handjobs, slight degradation, slight dubcon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Raiden found you infuriating, and he was just about done with your attitude
you had been prancing around the training pit with your damn boomerang, hitting targets and distracting Liu Kang and Kung Lao from training
you were meant to be training as well, but when Raiden had told you to concentrate, you had just given a cocky smile, flung your boomerang around to decapitate a training dummy, and then told him you were training
Raiden can feel his patience wearing thin as he watches you make small talk with Kung Lao, who is practicing using his hat as a blade
when Kung Lao puts his hat back on his head and fully faces you to talk, you smile, knowing you’ve successfully distracted the Shaolin from training and can indulge in more interesting things, like raiding the kitchen
Raiden feels the last threadbares of his patience snap when you walk past him and shoot him a wink
the god grabs onto your waist, and a flash of lightning transports you to his bedroom
you go to complain, but your mouth wires shut at the sight of the angry god towering over you and slamming his hand into the wall behind you
he growls out that you need to be training, not distracting his other champions and fooling around with your damn boomerang, and that you need to be more disciplined
you smirk up at him, calming your beating heart, and tell him to make you
Raiden immediately grabs onto you, carrying you to the bed and throwing you over his lap
he pulls down your pants, exposing your ass, and you squirm in his lap, not quite expecting this when you had teased him
but all thoughts of rebellion fly out of your mind when he lands a harsh smack on your ass and continues to swat at the sensitive flesh
with every slap your cock grinds against his lap, and by the end of his punishment, you’re a sobbing horny mess
you clutch onto the sheets in front of you as you try to stifle your sniffles and cries, and Raiden asks if you’ve learned your lesson
you let out a soft whimper, nodding your head, but the god grabs onto your hair, pulling your head back
he stares into your eyes and demands you to use your words
you moan out a yes sir, and he seems to be satisfied with your answer because he lets go of your hair
your face falls back into the sheets of the bed, and he rubs a soothing hand over your red cheeks
you can’t help but whine, and Raiden spits on his hand before teasing the rim of your asshole
he just teases you like this, feeling your pre-cum leak onto his pants, and he waits until you’re wiggling in his lap to tell you to beg for it
you hesitate, but when he slides just the tip of his finger in and pulls it out, you let out a small please
he squeeze your ass, making you whimper at the stimulation, and tells you to speak up
you raise your head out of the sheets and ask him please sir, please fuck me with your fingers
Raiden hums in approval and slides in a thick finger, which has you keening into the sheets
he fucks you slowly on his finger, using his other hand to rub circles into the red flesh of your ass, and he slowly adds in another spit-lubed finger
you grind against his lap as he does this, but he lets it slide for today as he fingers you
he presses his fingers around, looking for that sweet spot, and when your hips buck backward to try and take his fingers deeper, he knows he’s found it
he abuses that spot, constantly pushing his fingers into your prostate, and soon you’re crying into the sheets for a different reason
you let out a needy whine, arching your back, and you cum on Raiden’s pants, staining them white and going limp on the sheets
Raiden moves you to your knees in front of him, cupping your blissed-out expression and cooing at the tears tracks on your cheeks
he tells you that you did such a good job for him, and now you need to repay him, his boner pressing against the slack of his pants
your hands come up and slowly untie Raiden’s pants, and you shuffle in a little closer when you’re able to pull his pants down
you stroke his cock, spreading the pre-cum all along the shaft, and place small kisses to the tip of his cock
Raiden grunts and tells you that he knows you can do better
you huff but take his tip into your mouth, tracing your tongue along the tip and slowly bobbing your head up and down
the god above you groans at the feeling of your warm mouth around his cock, and he has a loose hold in your hair
he degrades you, telling you that you were made to suck his cock like a good whore, just needed a good spanking to help discipline you
you moan around his cock as you try to take him deeper, and Raiden can see the way his cock bulges out in your throat
but, the god lets you go at your own pace, he’ll teach you how take his full cock later and fuck your face when he’s trained you
for now, you can only reach halfway and use your hand to pump the rest of his cock, trying hard to please your god and get him to cum in your mouth
Raiden groans as your tongue traces a vein on the underside of your cock, and he grips onto your hair to hold you still as he shoots cum down your throat
you try your best to swallow it all, but a few drops spill out from the corner of your mouth
Raiden pants and pulls his softening dick from your mouth and pats the side of your cheek, using his thumb to scoop up the droplets that escaped
he places his thumb into your mouth, and you eagerly suck on them, cleaning his fingers of his cum
once you’re done, he picks you up and lays you on the bed stomach-down and leaves
he comes back quickly with some lotion, water, and food
he rubs the lotion into your cheeks with his large calloused hands, and he has you carefully drink the water and food that he has
the next day, you have a considerably better attitude and actually train, but sometimes you wince when you make a move and shoot a glance up to Raiden
he crosses his arms and knows that if you misbehave again that he’ll be there to put you in your place

Pairings: Sokka x Reader
Warnings: NONE
In the heart of the Southern Water Tribe, under the luminescent glow of the moon, you found yourself entranced by the tranquility of the night. The gentle lapping of the waves against the icy shore provided a soothing melody as you sat by the edge of the frozen lake, lost in your own thoughts.
Little did you expect that your solitude would be interrupted by the unexpected arrival of none other than Sokka, the renowned warrior of the Southern Water Tribe. With his boomerang slung across his back and a mischievous grin adorning his face, he approached you with an air of confidence that was unmistakably Sokka.
"Hey there, stranger," Sokka greeted you, his voice carrying a warmth that melted away the chill of the night. "Mind if I join you?"
You couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement at his presence, your heart skipping a beat as you nodded in response. Sokka settled himself beside you, his blue eyes sparkling with curiosity as he took in the serene beauty of the surroundings.
"So, what brings you out here all alone?" Sokka asked, his gaze turning to meet yours.
You found yourself drawn to his easy charm, feeling a sense of comfort in his presence as you opened up about your thoughts and dreams. As the night wore on, the two of you shared stories and laughter, forging a connection that seemed to transcend time and space.
With each passing moment, you discovered new facets of Sokka's personality – his unwavering loyalty to his friends, his boundless courage in the face of adversity, and his innate ability to find humor in even the darkest of situations. And as you basked in the warmth of his company, you couldn't help but feel yourself falling for him, captivated by the depth of his spirit and the strength of his heart.
As the first light of dawn began to paint the sky in hues of pink and gold, Sokka turned to you with a soft smile, his gaze filled with an emotion that mirrored your own.
"Thank you for tonight," he said, his voice gentle yet sincere. "I never expected to meet someone as amazing as you."
And in that moment, as the sun rose over the horizon, you knew that your encounter with Sokka was nothing short of serendipity – a chance meeting that would forever change the course of your destiny.
Together, you watched as the world awakened to a new day, knowing that no matter where life may lead you, the memory of this magical night by the lake would always hold a special place in your heart.

The sword master
(A series)
part 2
Sumary-The gaang runs into a camp in the trees…
Pairings- Sokka x oc, jet x twin
A/n-sorry it’s late, not my best work but it’s something. Who knew getting the characters to talk to each other would be so hard.Ive been thinking about making a prequel about Constance and Jet, about when their parents died and maybe some in-between….thoughts?
Tumblr media
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
I was standing in the tree, waiting to attack the fore nation camp site. I wanted to just get this over with, but we had to wait for the right moment.
And then the right moment came. Three people wandered into camp, two water tribesmen, and some kid wearing bright clothes. I looked across the clearing to Jet. Time to shine.
I jumped and took two soldiers out on landing. I turn and slashed at a third. I hear a yell and take out two more coming at you.
I looked over to Jet, who smiled at the random trio, “Down you go.”
I sigh, always the showman he is. A Fire Nation soldier yelled, “They're in the trees!”
The Duke lands on top of the soldier and turns his helmet around to blind him, before riding him around while laughing. Longshot launches arrows at the soldiers while more boys come out of the trees.
I look over to see the girl and the bright colored one fighting the soldiers. The water boy holds up his boomerang and yells as one approaches him, but gets stoped when Jet takes him down first.
“Hey, he was mine!” The water boy yelled
Jet laughed, “Gotta be quicker next time”
You turn back to the soldiers in front of you, taking down the ones right in front of the water tribe girl.
Pipsqeack falls out of the trees and easily take down two soldiers as I took down two more, causing this soldier's spear to hit another soldier, who was going to battle the water tribe boy, in the head, making that soldier also fall down.
The boy looked at me angrily, “Man!” He cried as I disarmed two more soldiers he was going for.
Jet disarmed another soldier and runs up to the water tribe girl.
Jet and smirked at her “Hey.” Oh you really hoped that wouldn’t become a thing.
She said looking completely lovestruck“Hi.”
The bright colored one looked around Amazed. “You just took out a whole army almost single-handed.”
I walked up and rested my elbow on Jets shoulder, “single handedly?” I questioned as i raised my eyebrows.
The water tribe boy spoke. “Army?! Pfft! There were only like, twenty guys.”
Jet looked over at me before introducing himself. “My name is Jet, and these are my Freedom Fighters. Sneers, Longshot, Smellerbee, The Duke, and Pipsqueak.”he said pointing to everyone as he introduced them. Then he turned to me, and ruffled my hair, did he know how long it took to braid this? “This is Constance, my little sister” he smirked around me.
“By two minutes” i mumbled while shoving his arm off.
The water tribe girl stuck her arm out, “Im Katara, this is Aang, Sokka, Appa, and Momo” she says pointing each person out.
I looked over at The Duke who was laughing with the Aang “Ha ha! Pipsqueak, that's a funny name.”
Pipsqueak lurked over them in a threatening manner; using a low, growling tone of voice. “You think my name is funny?”
Aang looks taken aback for a second before replying in an upbeat tone. “It's hilarious!”
I looked over to Pipsqueak, still looming forward with a frown on his face. He suddenly starts laughing, The colored one and The Duke following suit. Pipsqueak pats the Avatar on the back in a friendly manner, though the hit was hard enough to knock him flat on the ground. The Duke stops laughing and looks down at Aang sprawled on the ground before his feet, face flat in the dirt, though when he raises his head and continues laughing, so does The Duke.
I look over at Jet to see Katara approaching him. “Umm, thanks for saving us, Jet. We're lucky you were there.”
Jet laughed, “I should be thanking you. We were waiting to ambush those soldiers all morning. We just needed the right distraction, and then you guys stumbled in.”
Katara Eyed Sokka. “We were relying on instincts.”
Jet looked at me. “You'll get yourself killed doing that.” This was a common debate between us. Jet plans, while i go with my gut.
“Im still alive aren’t i?” I said as i glared at him.
Sokka looks at Katara and Jet disdainfully as The Duke and Pipsqueak look through the barrels. The Duke touches a jelly-like substance on his finger and sniffs it.
The Duke- “Hey, Jet, these barrels are filled of blasting jelly.”
Jet smiled “That's a great score.”
Pipsqueak Holds up a wooden box. “And these boxes are filled with jelly candy!”
I laugh, “Also good. Let's not get those mixed up.”
The Duke- “We'll take this stuff back to the hideout.”
Aang looked at us with wide eyes, “You guys have a hideout?”
Jet laughed “You wanna see it?”
Katara, Very excitedly yells “Yes, we wanna see it!”
Jet smiles at her and we walked towards the hideout.
We stood on the forest floor, i turned and smiled to the group.
Jet- “We're here.”
“Where? There's nothing here.” Sokka said while looking around.
Jet laughed “Hold this.” He says as he gives a rope to Sokka.
Sokka looked skeptical. “Why? What's this do?” He Screams as he is pulled up into the branches. I laugh and grab a tope flying into the trees, backflipping onto a railing.
I look down as Jet grabs Katara and they rise up through the tree together in a “romantic setting.” I would never understand my brother. They come to a landing on a wooden platform in the trees. I look up as Aang is zip lining through the trees.
Aang While passing through with Momo. “Nice place you got!
Katara, It's beautiful up here!”
Jet sighed “It's beautiful, and more importantly, the Fire Nation can't find us.”
Smellerbee lands next to me. “They would love to find you. Wouldn't they, Jet, Con?”
Jet Smirking “It's not gonna happen, Smellerbee.” I jump down and start leading them through the trees.
Katara As Aang zips by again, “Why does the Fire Nation want to find you?”
I look up and laugh “you could say we’ve been causing them a little trouble. See, they took over a nearby Earth Kingdom town a few years back.”
Pipsqueak - “We've been ambushin' their troops, cutting off their supply lines, and doing anything we can to mess with 'em.”
Jet- “One day, we'll drive the Fire Nation out of here for good and free that town.”
Katara- “That's so brave.”
Sokka looks around sarcastically “Yeah, nothing's braver than a guy in a tree house.” I laugh, looking over to him.
Katara- “Don't pay any attention to my brother.”
Jet- No problem. He probably had a rough day.”
Katara- “So, you all live here?” Sokka slows to walk next to me as Katara and Jet “flirt”
Jet- “That's right. Longshot over there?” I look back to Longshot and The Duke walking not making a sound. “His town got burned down by the Fire Nation. And we found The Duke trying to steal our food. I don't think he ever really had a home.”
Katara- “What about you?” I stifined but kept walking as Katara and Jet come to a halt, didn’t want to hear this story again.
“The Fire Nation killed my parents. Me and Connie were only eight years old. That day chan-“
i ran ahead, Jet talked about it freely, but he wasn’t the one who watched them die.
I heard footsteps behind me, i turn and see that Sokka had caught up to me.
“You ok?” He seemed to be genuinely curious.
“Yeah, i prefer not to talk about our parents, Jet talks about them all the time.”
“Oh” he looked at the ground, i realized this was probably pretty awkward for him. We continued until we were almost to my favorite balcony.
I turned and stuck my arm out. “We never properly introduced ourselves, I’m Constance”
He smiled, “im Sokka” he says shaking my hand.
I smiled back, something about the smile was infectious.
“What are you all doing here Sokka?”
He looked a little taken back, “what do you mean?”
I turned back to the balcony and sighed, looking at the view. “I’m sorry, I just-.“
To be honest I was worried, I knew Jet was planing something bad. He wouldn’t fill me all the way in, but he wanted to get rid of the fire nation for good, i was worried about that town that was right by us. I turned back to him and smiled.
“I’m sorry…You all should leave soon.” Like ripping off a bandage, i high-fived myself on the inside, Im gonna need some help to kick out the cute guy.
Now he looked sad, and i immediately felt guilty. “Yeah…we are going to leave tomorrow morning”
“Listen, its not like im forcing you out, i dont know if you noticed but my brother can be a little….”
“Suspicious?”
“Persuasive.” We sat in a comfortable silence for a while. “Its getting late, we should head to dinner”
He sighed, “yeah, they’re probably wondering where we are…”

X. Wheel of Fortune
This is a card about fate, about the cycles of good and bad that affect everyone's lives, and about luck. Life sometimes feels baffling in what it throws at us and why - but fate keeps on cycling, so enjoy the good while the good is here. The images of cycles, of something coming back around, well, what embodies this more than Sokka's boomerang? It will always come back, just like the good - and the bad - in life.

Chapter One - Tribal Trust
Stable Ground - Sokka x OC
🪃⛰️
Tumblr media
I apologize if this seems boring, it is the first chapter!
...
The air was thick in the forest west of Omashu. It was hard to breathe, especially when you were running away from an angry hoard of Fire Nation soldiers. After the Gaang had their 'fun' with Bumi, they had decided to travel west.
Usually, they would escape on Appa's furry back, soaring through the air and laughing at the soldiers below, but of course he had gone to find food about 10 minutes before the ambush.
Katara was using the water from a nearby lake to whip soldiers into the air, making icicles and throwing the objects at them. Aang was running far ahead, trying to look for any sign of Appa or safety. And of course, Sokka was in the back, huffing and puffing while he let out a girly scream at the fiery arrows shooting past his head. One of them had actually pierced his coat, and he had to be drenched by Katara to not burn alive.
"I did not want to get involved with all this magic crap!"
He screamed in a high pitched voice. A Soldier cackled behind him, throwing a fireball past his head. God, they had to be playing with him, right?
"Sokka, maybe you should spend less time complaining and more time running!"
Katara. spoke, creating a wave to shove a few enemies back.
"Good- Good idea!"
It wasn't very helpful that Aang wasn't assisting with the fight. It was pissing Katara off quite a bit, which only fueled the fire of her anger towards the soldiers.
Sokka wasn't really useful either -- other than being a target. It was easy to predict the fighters throws since they were almost all directed at Sokka.
"Guys! There's a village! Come on!"
Aang's voice was heard from up ahead, turning into an open gate. Katara gasped, stopping her fight to speed up. Sokka just groaned, not happy with the loss of defense.
"How nice! Leave the guy with no powers behind!"
Sokka turned around the corner, immediately bumping into Aang who was standing completely still. He and Katara were in a battle stance, and Sokka quickly stood up straight, grabbing his boomerang.
The fire troop stopped in front of them, not stepping into the village. They stared intensely, before smiling menacingly. Their teeth were yellow and gross, obviously unhygienic from the lack of a proper bathroom.
The group dispersed, laughing manically and never removing their eyes from the group. Sokka loosened up a bit, raising a curious brow at the sudden end of the chase.
"Wha-"
"Shut up Sokka!"
Katara interrupted, shushing him.
"Why did they-"
"Shhh!"
They all stood still, quiet and looking out for any surprise attack. But there was nothing. Only the sound of the leaves rustling in the wind and their heavy breaths.
"How odd.."
Aang said, standing straight up and looking around.
"Something is weird about this place.."
"Obviously."
Katara retorted, crossing her arms and turning to face the rest of the village.
"Oh, so you guys can talk but I can't?"
Katara ignored him, and Aang just let out a sympathetic shrug. Somka groaned, stepping back and glancing at the area.
The place seemed abandoned. There were tents with assorted colors surrounding campfires, and two large buildings. One was on the opposite side of the village, and the other right text to them near the entrance.
"What is this place?"
Katara whispered, taking a step forward. Aang placed a hand on her shoulder, bringing her back.
"Be careful. There could be worse than the fire nation here.."
Katara nodded, huffing out a nervous breath. Though Aangs warning was fresh in his mind, Sokka couldn't help but walk into the center of the village. Curiosity was swarming his mind.
"Sokka be careful."
Katara spoke with urgency, looking at him with concerned eyes.
"Katara, it's fine! Look, this place is abandoned-"
Before he could finish his sentence, he screamed. The ground surrounding him and his friends rose up, like spikes growing from the floor. Katara grabbed onto Aang quickly, and Sokka got into a fighting stance, holding his boomerang in front of him.
"Who goes there?"
A voice boomed all around, the source unidentifiable. Sokka shivered, looking all around. His eyes locked onto Katara and Aang, who were also trying to find the voice.
"This is sacred land! It is forbidden for the Fire Nation to step foot here!"
Katara, in the middle of her shake, spoke,
"We mean no harm, sir -- or uh ma'am. We were just trying to escape the fire nation troops. We have made a terrible mistake wandering here."
The voice groaned, and footsteps clicking against the brick path flooring. The spikes began to sink back into the ground, shaking the floor beneath the group. The face of the man was exposed as the ground lowered.
"How shall i believe you? I surely cannot trust a bald little kid in warm colors.."
Sokka giggled, but soon dropped his smile when he saw Katara's angry stare. He looked at the floor, a nervous pool forming in his stomach.
"I'm wearing the traditional Garb of Air Nomads. I'm not a fire bender -- I'm an air bender."
Sokka crossed his arms, taking a step to the side. He glared at the stranger, not trusting him so quickly. He got a good look at the main -- he had dark skin, a similar complexion to his own, dark long hair and mustache that complimented it. He had tired eyes, full of grief and anger.
"Ha! Air nomad? You're an air nomad?"
The man laughed furiously, and giggles from all around flooded their heads. It was quite unsettling, the voices having no direct source.
"You're some uneducated Fire Benders. The Air Nomads were slaughtered 100 years ago, boy."
Aang looked a bit shocked and worried, but he didn't let the man's words faulter his faith. He couldn't back down.
"But I am an airbender! I can bend air!"
Before Aang could prove himself, Katara stepped forward.
"And i can waterbend!"
Her voice was desperate, scared. Sokka looked around, trying to figure out a way to explain himself.
"And I'm just kinda here!"
The man grinned, ready to attack. He dragged his hands up slowly, a sharp dagger made of rock making its way from the ground and pointing towards Aang.
"Prove yourself, or you'll be cast aside, firebender."
Katara's jaw clenched as she stared at the man, trying to stay poised despite her anger. As she inhaled, her hands glowed a beautiful blue. A stream of water left her hand and traveled several feet through the air.
While Katara's water traveled, flowing above her head in graceful shapes, Aang considered how to show he isn't the enemy. He held his hands together, the air swarming together between his palms. The ball grew larger and larger, before he jumped upon it, giggling as he rode the air.
He went in circles as gasps filled the air, both Katara and Aang laughing along with them.
Sokka grinned, looking about as the spikes fully sunk into the ground, exposing the people who were guarding the village. Men with knives lowered them, turning their heads to inspect the Gaang.
"That must mean.."
The man began, but smiled before he could even let out the last words.
"The Avatar!"
...
It had been a few hours since their arrival. As usual, Aang had spent most of the time entertaining children with his tricks. He did try and listen to the man for a little bit -- who he later learned to be Chief Ottawa of Izuma -- but he was always attracted to having fun.
Katara had made friends with a few girls, and had spent the time talking to them about her trip so far. And Sokka -- Sokka kind of just frolicked.
"Avatar Aang?"
Ottawa called out, looking at Aang as he showed the kids a marble trick. He looked up, the marbles falling into his hand. He stood up, waving goodbye to the kids and skipping over to Ottawa, Katara quickly following in suit.
They stood next to Sokka, who was sitting on a log picking at his fingers.
"Nice for you guys to finally join me."
He had a snarky undertone in his voice, a bit angry that he had been keeping himself occupied for hours. Aang whispered a quick apology, while Katara just shook her head.
Ottawa had his arm crossed, looking down at the floor. His energy seemed the same as when they had first arrived -- deflated, sad, angry.
"It is an honor to have the Avatar here. We'd love for you to stay, but we must come to an agreement.."
He began to speak, voice low.
"8 years ago, our tribe was ambushed by the fire nation. After much loss -- over half of our village lost -- we made a peace treaty with the fire nation."
Sokka raised a brow, looking curiously at Ottawa.
"A peace treaty? With the fire nation?"
His confusion was valid, since they didn't do 'peace treaties'. The fire nation only believed in loss and destruction, at least thats what Sokka thought.
"We were doubtful too, but at the time, that's all we had. So, we trusted them."
"That treaty was the biggest mistake of our village. Instead of attacking us head on, they sent troops to live around the area. They began destroying the land -- killing trees, tempering with the spirit world, and killing anyone who stepped foot outside Imaza. We have been trapped here. Unable to fight against the troops, our people have died from sickness, lack of crops, and smoke in the air. If these troops do not leave soon, our people will go extinct."
The realization hit Aang like a gut of wind, knocking him back. These people -- people who have been here since the beginning, since Oma and Shu created earthbending, and they would soon be a distant memory because of the fire nation.
"So.. you want me to get rid of the troops?"
Aang asked with uncertainty, messing with his pants. He looked at Katara and Sokka, who were both staring at him before he even turned his head.
"Yes. Not only you, Avatar, but your friends, Katara and uh.. uhm.. Soyki."
Sokka frowned, groaning at the name.
"I believe you can free our people, free the spirit world from the fire nation's torture."

cento between the ending and the end
masterlist | ao3
summary: you leave home, desperate to escape the disillusionment. then you meet the avatar. (the rest is history.)
pairing: zuko x fire nation!reader
warning(s): mentions of canon-typical violence i guess?
word count: 2.65k
a/n: this is based off of cameron-awkward rich’s poem “cento between the ending and the end.” it made me think of atla so that’s what this is.
Tumblr media
sometimes you don’t die
when you’re supposed to
Chey runs into the camp with his face flushed, his chest heaving, and his eyes burning bright. He’s beaming as he rushes over to where you and Jeong Jeong sit at opposite sides of a Pai Sho board, your mentor’s eagle eyes fixed on the game as he mulls over his options for his next move. He’s grinning as he slams his hands on the table, rattling the Pai Sho tiles and startling you out of your stupor, but failing to disturb Jeong Jeong’s unperturbed state. He’s glowing as he glances back and forth between the two of you with excitement and insuppressible hope—something you haven’t seen (or felt) in a long time. Then four words tumble out of his mouth and you understand why. The Avatar has returned. The gaping hole in your chest shivers and golden eyes light up in the back of your mind—angry, determined, ablaze.
and now i have a choice
(“Do you think he knows?” you ask as Jeong Jeong reaches out to move one of his Pai Sho tiles. “About the Avatar, I mean.” “I think that you don’t need me to answer that question for you and that you won’t figure it out by staying here,” he replies, sage and resolute. “But, let us finish this game first. I have a feeling that I am about to win.” You don’t miss the twinkle in his eye as he places the white lotus tile onto the board—in the center spot—with a soft click.)
repair a world or build
a new one inside my body
He’s standing in the middle of a tiny Earth Kingdom village, clutching an outdated and worn-out map while squinting at and attempting to decipher jumbled scribbles of names of towns and landmarks, when you accidentally bump into him. Tall, tan, topknot, toothy grin. He asks you if there are any towns nearby where he can stock up on food and supplies. You grin back. His name is Sokka from the South Pole, good with directions—when he has a proper map—and great with plans. And a nonbender, but decent with a sword and a master with the boomerang. (“Hold on, a boomerang?” you ask, one eyebrow raised as he pulls out the polished weapon from the sheath on his back, the shiny metal glinting in the sun. “Yeah, is there something wrong with that?” he counters. “No, not really,” you reply, watching as he flips it lightly into the air and as it lands neatly back in his palm. “I’ve just never met anyone who uses a boomerang as a weapon.” He laughs, “Well, I guess that makes me one of a kind, baby.”) Sokka is all sharp angles—outgoing and sarcastic, letting out a loud whoop and clapping you on the shoulder when you flash the blade of a dagger and admit that you don’t bend either. He’s boisterous at times and you quickly learn that his infectious laugh is a common occurrence, paying no attention to the slight hitch in his breath that precedes each fit of hysterics. Later, as you lead him to a bustling harbor town nearby, he introduces you to his little band of travelers. Katara. Smooth lines to complement her brother’s cacophonous nature—kind eyes and a soft smile, long hair braided down her back, calm but resolute—and a waterbender. She’s approachable and easy to talk to, immediately welcoming and easy to befriend. Yet, Katara can be sharp when she wants to be. You take note as she hurls witty insults at Sokka’s navigation skills. Appa and Momo. A flying bison and a winged lemur, two creatures you’ve only ever read about in the dusty books in your father’s library. Momo chitters and flies around you a few times out of curiosity before returning to circle Appa’s head. The bison grunts in your direction and continues to amble forward. And Aang. The Avatar. Wide-eyed, grinning, full of hope. So much so that you feel like you’re dreaming.
a white door opens
As soon as the town comes into sight, Aang and Katara rush ahead—Momo, too—eager to visit the shops and market stalls. Sokka stays behind with you and Appa. He’s quiet for a moment, then the question tumbles out of his mouth. You’re from the Fire Nation, aren’t you? You should have seen it coming from miles away.
into a place queerly brimming
(“It’s been nearly two years since I left. Most of the time, I find myself not wanting to go back.” “But it’s still home,” Sokka adds. “Yeah,” you sigh and swallow the lump in your throat. “It’s still home.”)
gold light so velvet-gold
It’s unexpected, but so sincere. Why don’t you come along with us? You can’t suppress the smile and the feeling of warmth that spreads through your body when you climb up onto Appa’s back. As the flying bison takes off into the sky, you feel the wind around you and something surging—the hole in your chest shrinking and beginning to heal.
it is like the world
hasn’t happened
You can’t push the image out of your head—Yue falling backward, her white-blonde hair pooling in the water and curling around her head like a halo. You remember the tranquility that washed over the princess’s face, the stillness in the air as she fell, and the solemnity as she sank to the bottom. Even though it’s been days, the scene is still as clear and still as haunting. To your left, Sokka laughs at one of Aang’s jokes. This time, you catch onto the slight hitch in his breath. It’s an indication—he’s lost something important and hasn’t yet forgiven himself. (You feel the same way, sometimes.) You wonder what else the war has taken from him. At night, you recall burnt skin warped around an angry eye. A startling clash of red and gold—so vivid, so noble, so hurt. Your shaking hands clutching onto his tear-stained shirt, trembling voice demanding him to come back soon. How quickly soon became a year, then two. Then three. You remember the pervading silence that followed his exile. It’s the same silence that followed Yue’s descent. The war, cruel and unforgiving, hangs overhead.
when i call out
all my friends are there
Toph Beifong is an avalanche of a girl—chaotic, strong, unable to stop once set into motion. It’s no wonder that she and Katara butt heads so quickly. But, she fits in nicely, works well with the group after she and Katara reconcile their differences, and dedicates herself to the cause. At a first glance, Toph is reckless and wild when it comes to earthbending—much like a hotheaded firebender you know. Yet, you have never seen someone push and pull at dirt and stone with as much grace and precision as the tiny blind girl. One night, after you finish describing the constellations in the sky to her, admiring them for their complexity and ineffable beauty, she shares her wisdom with you. You find something, you grab onto it, and you make it uniquely yours. Toph is the friend you always wanted and never had. One brimming with insights and always moving toward some honorable goal, but unafraid to break a few things along the way—rules, walls, bones. One who will listen intently without judging or mocking you when you have something to say—and does exactly that when you let out your pent-up resentment that had been building up for the past few years toward the values you had been raised on. One who you know you can trust. Your little band of travelers doesn’t feel so little anymore and the hole in your chest grows smaller and smaller with each passing day.
everyone we love
is still alive
His hair is grown out. It hangs messily across his forehead, let loose from the neat ponytail he used to tie it into. He looks more relaxed, less uptight, free from everything that forced him to hold his tongue, unafraid of what’s behind his back. His smile feels whole. You like him better this way. It’s a bit comical—meeting him again in a city so far from where you thought he would find comfort in, looking so different from the last time you saw him. (And working in a tea shop, something you never thought he’d ever been willing to do.) Yet, you find him standing in the middle of that small crooked building in Ba Sing Se’s Lower Ring, gracefully pouring tea into a customer’s cup before bidding them a good day and moving on to the next table. It’s no wonder that you almost don’t recognize him. But the familiarity comes flooding back the moment he pulls you into his arms after leading you out into the secluded alleyway behind the teashop. You cry into his chest. Because it’s been so long and I missed you so much. He holds you tighter. Because I’m sorry.
gathered
at the lakeside
Stepping back onto Ember Island’s shores feels surreal. Walking through the front doors of your family home, even more so. Your parents greet you warmly, ask you about your travels, fill you in on what you’ve missed. Your older brother cracks some jokes, punches your shoulder lightly, and tells you he only missed you a bit. He finds you standing on the beach that evening. Your toes buried in the sand, hands in your pockets, a contemplative look on your face. Together, you recall memories of your childhoods. Days spent sitting stiffly in stuffy classrooms with perfect posture and seemingly engaged expressions, attentively listening to lectures about “our nation’s glory.” Hours of military and political history—Sozin, Azulon, and various generals and commanders whose names and accomplishments you could rattle off. (Names and accomplishments that you forced out of your mind the second you stepped foot off Fire Nation soil.) Evenings spent running barefoot on the beach, dancing in the salty breeze with pink clouds and a sunset in the background. Or sparring, him critiquing your skills or you showing off a new technique you learned while your feet sank into the soft sand and some noisy gulls flew overhead. Nights spent angrily whispering at him to shut up and leave you alone because, somehow, he always knew when you were awake when you weren’t supposed to be, always knew where you were hiding in your father’s library, and always knew what—or rather who—was on your mind. When you go quiet, he asks what you’re thinking about. You can’t seem to find the right words.
like constellations
(“Remember when Ruon-Jian asked you out and you responded by punching him in the face?” “Yeah,” you laugh, remembering how the boy had approached you with an atrocious pick-up line and how you had so desperately wanted to wipe the smug grin off his face. “He was an asshole.” Your brother snickers, “Good times.” You echo emptily, “Good times.”)
my honeyed kin
Ba Sing Se falls overnight. The news comes in the form of your brother bursting through the doors of your father’s library, where you’re sitting peacefully in an armchair and paging through a book about stars and other celestial objects. When you look up, you’re met with a frown, eyes wavering—strained, a little bit scared. It doesn’t take you long to figure out that there’s something wrong. A letter from Azula follows and, two days later, you’re within the concentric stone walls again. You know you should let Zuko be. Let him wallow. Give him space to mourn. But Azula smirks and lets slip the shred of knowledge that gives her the upper hand. She’s seen glimpses—sunlight glinting off the blades of your daggers, blurs of the hair ribbons you always wear. Traitor.
honeyed light
The air surrounding the top deck is cold and stiff and bitter on the ship ride home, but it’s where he is, so you stay—your head resting against his shoulder, his arm around your waist. You ask him if he finds it strange to be going home after so many years away. When he doesn’t respond, you turn your gaze up to his face and find him staring out into the distance, expression blank, mouth set in a firm line. But, his eyes look so lost and he feels so far away. The hole in your chest begins to widen again.
beneath the sky
a garden blue stalks
white buds
(Ozai raises his fist. Iroh covers your eyes. “No one should have to witness something so terrible,” he tells you afterward. Something inside you shifts out of place.)
the moon’s
marble glow
You left to chase after a boy. Azula stands with her hands on her hips, looking proud of her comment. She wants you to stand up and yell back at her, prove her wrong—and she is wrong. Azula is wrong. You left because you wanted to, because you were tired, because everything you had been told was a lie. And it wasn’t Zuko’s banishment that had shown you that. Those seeds were planted years before, nurtured over the summers you spent away from home honing your skills with shiny silver knives, watered with your sweat and incessant curiosity. (“More like nosiness,” your brother would have called it.) Soon, they sprouted, stretched their roots and tied themselves down, resisting any deweeding from indoctrination attempts during the school years. Seeing Zuko, with a bandage over his eye and his shoulders slumped and his entire being so broken only gave them more room to grow. And they grew. Tendrils curling and suffocating the sickly-sweet praises of the nation’s magnificence and grandeur (and lies). Roots digging deeper until the only thing burning through you when you thought of the nation you grew up in was resentment and hatred and every other ugly feeling that made you sick to your stomach. And so, you left. Azula is wrong. But, you’re tired of fighting her. So you smile politely, in the way you’ve been taught to. Maybe I did.
the fire
distant and flickering
The air feels drier and hotter with each passing day. It’s unsettling and sets off something within you—makes you wonder what it’s leading up to and if there’s a storm on its way. At night, when Zuko stands with you on your balcony—the two of you leaning against the railing, shoulders touching, gazing at the navy blue expanse of sky—you fall into him, searching for the comfort of his arms. Because something’s coming and I don’t think it’s good. He holds you closer. Hands gripping your waist, fingers laced tightly with yours like he’s afraid you’ll slip through the cracks and fall away from him. Because I feel it, too. You receive a small package and a letter from Piandao the next day. (“Your friend Sokka is a fine swordsman,” it reads. “He is a very good student, asks a lot of questions, and is somewhat unconventional. He reminded me a bit of you.”) Something at the bottom of the letter, scribbled in the corner, catches your eye. He’s alive. You open up the package and a Pai Sho tile falls into your palm, the white lotus engraved on its face.
the body whole bright-
winged brimming
Toph and Sokka and Suki and you. (And Katara and Zuko and Aang. Where are they?) Red. Glaring brightness. Body sore. On the verge of breaking. A ringing in your ears. The smell of something burning. You can’t remember anything else.
with the hours
of the day
(Funnily enough, you’ve never felt more whole.)
beautiful
nameless planet
Afterward, he kisses you hard. Urgent, but sweet, arms wrapping tightly around your waist. Because I don’t know what I would’ve done if I didn’t make it out with you by my side. You kiss him back. Soft and delicate, hands resting against his chest. Because I love you, too.
oh
friends, my friends—
bloom how you must, wild
until we are free.

I want to write a Zukka x legend of Zelda cross over but it’s hard to decided when Sokka can play both roles as Zelda AND link.
Logically yes he fits the quota to having the force of wisdom. He values intelligence over strength and out of the whole gaang he’s the most fit. But also, Link is seem as a protective figure and has the boomerang and sword! That ALSO describes Sokka. Sokka could be zelda… if zelda had a funky sense of humor, a boomerang, and a huge overwhelming feeling of needing to guard those you love (</3)
I mean It’s pretty obvious Zuko is Link. That boy screams courage, as he will throw punches without thinking of the consequences. It’s as clear as day. The only thing I think that can contradict this set up is how Zelda is a princess and Zuko is a prince, thus royalty = royalty. But Nahh like Sokka said he’s technically a Prince too.
Idk ganondorf can be Zhao (cuz Ozai is Aang's problem and Zhao is an evil bastard as well)

For the ships prompts 5 and 14
Y'all are being Tyzula WHORES today (I love you anyway)
Couple #5: Ty Lee x Azula
Prompt #14: “You’re hurting me!”
For the prompt game!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An untold meeting with the gaang, the Spring before Sozin’s comet
The three young women peered over a rock, the Avatar and his little group were seemingly setting up camp for the night.
“Alright ladies here’s the plan,” Azula side eyed them both as she spoke, “It seems like they each have tasks, we’ll wait for them to split up, then pick them off one by one,” The two women nodded in acknowledgment.
“Mai, take the water bending peasant, Ty Lee, you take the boy. The avatar is mine” With that, they parted ways.
~~~
Ty Lee crept along the tree line- staying silent and patiently waiting for the avatar and girl to leave.
“Okay, I’ll find something for us to eat, Aang do you want to get fire wood?”
“Sure thing Katara!” The Avatar zoomed off in to the woods, seemingly lifted by nothing. Ty Lee had never seen an air bender before- well- almost no one had nowadays. She was mesmerized.
Soon after the bender (Katara?) left as well. Finally.
Planting her signature dazzling smile she all but waltzed in to their camp. No need to be stealthy when her charms worked just as well.
“Hey cutie, long time no see,” She leaned over him where he knelt- laying out his sleeping bag,
“Aaah!” He yelled and turned around, reaching for that weird weapon he kept strapped across his back. She did always wonder what it was, it looked like someone attempted to make a sword, but did it very wrong.
Ty Lee danced around him casually as he tried to pin her down.
“You never told me your name cutie,” She leaned in and kissed him on the cheek, he wiped it off but didn’t look entirely appalled. She noted that,
“It’s Sokka, water tribe”
“Well Sokka water tribe. I’m Ty Lee” she cartwheeled a safe distance away from him. “Nice to meet you”
“I wish I could say the same, what are you doing here? I thought you were after that pony tailed freak,”
“Oh we are,” She folded her arms behind her casually, Sokka held his…knife? In a defensive position, “But the avatar is an even better prize”
“We?”
“You think I’m here alone? I’m just the distraction silly!” Realization passed across the dark boys face, he turned on his heel to take off in the direction that the avatar left, but Ty Lee stepped in front of him. “I don’t think so Sokka,”
With a few quick jabs she disabled his dominant leg, he collapsed to one knee.
“Sorry about that gorgeous, I can’t have you interrupting her highness, can’t we just sit and chat?”
“In your dreams circus freak,”
“Yes,” She replied with a giggle, “since we’re here, why don’t you tell me what that is?”
“What what is?” He glanced at the blade still in his hand, “You mean boomerang?” She saw a thought pass across his features, and before she knew it- he threw it towards her. She simply side stepped and it missed her.
“Well that’s not terribly effective, is it? I expected more from the Southern Water Tribe” She taunted. What a ridiculous weapon. “But dont worry, you’ll get your leg back in a few hours. We’ll be long gone by then, but hey, if you’re ever in the Fire Nation look me up,” She winked
“Ty Lee!” Azula’s voice came from the edge of the woods. She ran up to her as smooth as ever. “The Avatar got away, I couldn’t follow him without setting this whole forest on fire, Zuko is too close- we can’t risk tipping him off,”
“Okay Azula!” But just as she turned to leave, the world went black
~~~
Azula watched in horror as that weapon the boy was so fond of came seemingly out of nowhere and slammed right in to Ty Lee’s back. She crumpled, blood quickly beginning to run down her back.
“Ty Lee!” Azula rushed forward and caught her before she could hit the ground, pressing their fronts together, The smaller girls head lolled on to her shoulder.
“Sokka!” The water tribe girl came rushing from the tree line, seemingly to her brother’s aid, but froze in her tracks when she took in the scene before her.
“Sokka, what did you do?” Katara had yet to fully grasp the reality of war, she of course wasn’t dumb enough to think they had never caused any casualties, but she did her best to avoid it when possible, and Sokka always made a point to shield her from the direct kills. So seeing this… she didn’t know how to react in any way other than her nature.
Katara took a hesitant step forward, reaching out a hand. “Azula I can help, please let me,”
“Get away from her!” Azula snarled, tears beginning to flow freely down her face. “Ty Lee, Ty Lee wake up!” She began to shout desperately. She reached for the thing sticking out of her back.
“Azula don’t!” Katara moved closer, something like genuine concern splayed across her face. “If you just rip that out you could hurt her more, even sever her spine. You could kill her,”
“She’s already dead!” Azula screamed, slowly losing grip on her rational thoughts,
“No. She isn’t, but she will be if you don’t let me help you,” Azula could do nothing but hold her friend tighter as Katara hesitantly inched forward. She brought water to her palms. Azula braced for an attack, but she couldn’t bring herself to let go of Ty Lee.
“I’m not going to hurt her,” Katara said, finally kneeling in front of her. The water tribe boy hadn’t moved behind them, she wasn’t unaware of him but she was too distracted to ponder too much why he wasn’t attacking. She took the small mercy from Agni as the water benders hands began to glow.
“What are you doing?!” Azula yanked her away, the water splashed around them,
“I’m healing her, please don’t move. You could make it a lot worse.” Azula was hesitant, but she would take any chance for her friend right now. Katara then grabbed the object in one hand, glowing water in the other. She slowly edged it out as she supposedly “healed” her as she went. Azula did her best to keep her breathing steady, which was surprisingly easy due to her training.
The object was finally removed, and a couple of moment later Katara stood and quickly backed away. “There, she’ll be fine,” Azula didn’t have to be told twice as she scooped the still unconscious Ty Lee in to her arms and sprinted back off in to the woods without even a word.
Once she deemed them a safe distance she fell back on to her knees, tears beginning to wane just slightly. She was still hopelessly worried, but she took solace in the fact that at least there wasn’t a weapon sticking out of her and the bleeding had stopped.
Still, she held Ty Lee in to her chest as tightly as she could, and began rocking back and forth and muttering, “please don’t be dead, please don’t be dead, please-“
“Azula?” Came a broken voice, the princess sucked in a sharp breath.
“Ty Lee? What is it? What do you need?”
“You’re hurting me”
Azula noticed her crushing grip and half-laughed half-sobbed in relief as she loosened her grip.
“For Agni’s sake Ty Lee I thought you were dead!” Once she was sure the little acrobat wasn’t in fact dead- her worry was quickly replaced with anger and frustration.
“What? Why? Were you… crying?” Ty Lee reached up from where she still laid in Azula’s arms to brush her wet cheek with the back of her hand.
“Yes you idiot! I thought I lost you!” Ty Lee should have been startled at Azula’s anger- but she was used to her concern coming out as aggression.
“Hey, I’m okay. I’m right here. I don’t know what happened- but I’m okay,” The next thing she knew- the princesses lips were on hers. She pulled away for a moment, “Now I’m really confused, what is happening right now?”
Azula huffed and rolled her eyes, “Just shut up,” Were Azula’s only words before her lips crashed on to hers once more
