stop-that-fool's ICEMAV timeline for Your jeep. Your Teeth. The coffee that you bought me.
AKA where my icemav's story sticks to canon and where it diverges/changes-- all while trying to make it align with real military/historical events.
Also, thank you @sliderkerner for indulging me and saying that you wanted my timeline posted here!
DISCLAIMER! I am in no way an expert of the US Military. This whole 'timeline' should not be taken as fact or canon regarding TOP GUN. I am making this for my own understanding of my icemav story and to help myself and anyone reading keep track of the timeline. This is just for fun and mostly for me.
Quick note about the time off US Military members get. According to this website, people accumulate leave-- 2.5 days per month of work. I don't think that either Mav or Ice are eager to take time off. I can only see them wanting to take time off to visit Carole and Bradley (as Val Kilmer stated, I also believe that Ice does not have the ideal family). That's why a lot of their work seems back-to-back/never ending.
1986-
-The movie stays the same (Goose dies, intense amounts of sexual tension between Ice and Mav, "You can be my wingman anytime" etc., etc.)
-The FIRST change in canon is when Mav states that he's going to try teaching at TOP GUN. In TGM, Mav said he barely lasted one class. Within my story, Mav lasts until 1988.
Between '87 and '88-
-Ice comes to teach at TOP GUN (entirely for the purpose of his career/'resume' for working his way up for promotions etc., etc.)
-While Ice is there (for around 2 TOP GUN classes) that is when Ice and Mav start getting involved romantically.
-But Ice hates teaching. He leaves mid '88 and joins the Iran-Iraq War aboard USS Enterprise.
Late 1988-
-Mav completes one last TOP GUN class after Ice leaves and follows Ice to the USS Enterprise (a happy accident that they were stationed on the same ship). This then allows them to continue their 'involvement' and allow them to fly together again ("Bullshit, you can be mine" blah blah blah).
1990-
-The Gulf War. According to Fandom Wiki both Mav and Ice have the Kuwait Liberation Medal-- meaning they both fought in the Gulf War around this time. (Btw they are no longer on the USS Enterprise as she was no longer involved in the Gulf War past 1989 (I think))
-In my TOP GUN universe, Mav gets another 'kill' during the Gulf War (I have no idea if any naval aviators did this in 1990 (Mav didn't do this canonically) but it happens within the stop-that-fool fanfic universe). Merlin is also Mav's RIO throughout the the Gulf War.
1991-
-BUT Ice has the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia) while Mav does not. Mav has the Southwest Asia Service Medal. So, for my story this time in between 1991-92 is when Mav pisses someone off and is moved squadrons/carriers to somewhere in Southwest Asia.
-Both of them, according to these medals, participated in Operation Desert Storm. (Mav also could have participated in Operation Desert Shield due to his Southwest Asia Service Medal.)
-Throughout 1991 they are able to see each other a couple times, but the fact that Mav keeps pissing people off makes it difficult. This is also because Navy deployments on average last between 6-7 months (according to a quick Google search) and for the sake of the story, their deployments and time off in between rarely overlap.
1992-
-This difficulty continues into 1992 where it all comes to a head on Dec. 31st 1992 (Ice's birthday! (Ice does not have a 'canon' birthday, but Dec. 31st is Val Kilmer's and I thought that bday also made sense for Ice)). Que the car scene in ch.4 and the aftermath the next morning.
-Throughout '92, Mav was in Iraq participating in the Iraqi no-fly zones. (I think. I find this UN mandate difficult to understand, especially whether or not the US Navy was involved or not.)
1993-
-Mav and Ice do not see each other in person at all in '93. But as said in ch.4 they-- "...talk about nothing on the phone. Ice never picks him up from the airport again."
-The US Navy also provided air cover for cargo planes that were bringing relief supplies during the Bosnian War. This is where Mav was placed in '93 (pissed off some captain or higher up or something).
-Ice and Mav don't see each other (in person) until '94.
The UNITED NATIONS MEDAL- In the TOP GUN fandom wiki page, both Ice and Mav are listed to have a United Nations Medal. What it does not state, and what I cannot find anywhere online, is what conflict they were a part specifically of for them to receive this medal. There are multiple options throughout the 1990's and 2000's that could have led to this award. BUT for the sake of my story, I will only be considering/applying conflicts that took place between 1994-98.
Between 1994 and '96-
-I think Ice received the UNPROFOR United Nations Medal for his service during the Yugoslav Wars. This is where he was between 1994-95. As I stated in ch.3 he was stationed somewhere in Europe after he and Mav 'break up' (I can't figure out what United Nations Medal Mav could have received-- it's difficult to figure out US Navy specific peacekeeping missions he could been involved in besides UNPROFOR.))
1997-
-It's around this year that Mav uses some of his accumulated vacation days to spend a longer period with Carole and Bradley. Ice is still stationed in Europe (workaholic).
1998-
-After Mav's time off, he's deployed again to Iraq.
As I mentioned in a previous post, not a lot of things happen in early to mid 1998 in regards to military conflicts, BUT Operation Desert Fox happens in December of 1998. I think the military would need to have people around before the operation before completing something of that scale. AKA that's why Mav is there in June.
-Then on an undisclosed date in early June, Mav crashes as stated in ch.1 (“You dodged some crazy bastards up there, then hit a bird. The plane crashed into the ground, and you ejected and landed on some rocks...").
-Mav is transferred to a hospital in California as he needs special surgery for his shattered knee cap.
-Ice has been in California for a couple days when Mav gets there because his paternal grandfather is dying (another happy accident that his grandfather is in the same hospital as Mav (god i love plot armour)). Ice had previously been permanently stationed somewhere in Europe (to get away from his family, Mav, and to work up to a promotion).
-Carole dies a couple days after Mav is released from the hospital. Bradley is now under Mav's legal guardianship. They move into military provided family housing on the Lemoore Naval Air Station with Mav teaching at the SFWSPAC (Strike Fighter Weapons School Pacific) once his injuries heal.
-Ice then reveals that he has requested to be stationed in California with Mav (the request was approved, Ice is now near both his family AND Mav... he's so silly).
-On June 21st 1998, Mav, Ice and Bradley drive out to West California to the beach cottage Mav rented (courtesy of Viper) with the plans of celebrating Bradley's birthday on June 27th (finally someone with a canon bday thank u Bradley).
Anyway, that's all we got so far! I would just like to say again that I am in no way claiming that this is accurate or canon. I also can't guarantee that I understand all of the wars, conflicts, operations, and details of the US military that I stated previously. So if I got something wrong; any of the language I used, details of the wars and conflicts stated, I apologize! Very deeply. From the depths of my soul.

On Jake Muller's mother
Tumblr media
Anyone else think way too hard about her and Wesker?
Before I begin this I would like to apologize for the way that I write despite English being my primary language 🔥
RE6 introduces Jake Muller, Albert Wesker's stupid son. I'm sure the thought "omg Wesker fucked" crossed everyone's minds when this plot point was first revealed
I personally had the thoughts "RE6 was dumb as hell and the whole thing with Wesker having a son probably wasn't thought out very well. This is a detail that doesn't matter." and "It was probably a quickie with a stranger - someone he sought out specifically to have sex with. Someone he didn't care about."
We don't have a lot of information on Jake's mom, except:
[These are from the RE6 files Jake's Family Situation / Written Report on Jake Muller]
She was born in Edonia
She was in her early 20's when she immigrated to the USA from Edonia and had the chance to meet Wesker
She returned to Edonia and gave birth to Jake without telling Wesker
She was mild-mannered and did her best to raise Jake
She loved Wesker
She died from an illness that she couldn't afford to treat
and
Wesker is described to have "abandoned" her and Jake
Just the fact that she was still in love with Wesker as Jake was growing up gives the impression that they had something a little more than a random quick fuck. Like, please read this letter to Jake from his mom.
"I love you, Jake. I'm so sorry to have to leave you like this. Please forgive me. And please, don't hate your father. I'm sure he loves you and is thinking about you, and I know you two will find each other someday. Stay strong."
RE6 takes place in 2013, and at that time Jake was 20 years old. If he was born in 1993, that means he was conceived in 1992-1993. According to Wesker's Report II, Wesker left the Arklay Laboratory in 1991 and transferred to Umbrella's intelligence division/information department.
(I refuse to believe that Wesker was in the army. I cannot find a reliable source for it beyond the '96 BIO HAZARD guide book published by Kodansha, a 1994 bio image from when he was still named Hustler, and this bio image that I cannot for the life of me find the source for.)
Wesker was absolutely not immune to attraction. Upon inspecting his desk 50x in a row in the original RE2, you can take an undeveloped roll of film from it that turns out to be a photo of Rebecca in an R.P.D. sports bra + shorts set.
(You could argue that he was simply keeping tabs/info on everyone while he was Captain because he was sooooo careful like that. But I'm not seeing an undeveloped film of Barry in a skimpy little outfit hidden deep within his desk, so... 🤨)
You know what? Sorry for pointing this out, but it's been weighing heavy on my mind. This is the only time I'm ever gonna get to talk about this. In 1998, Rebecca was 18, and Wesker was 38. Jake Muller's mom was described as being in her early 20's when she immigrated to the US. Wesker was 32-33 when he impregnated Ms. Muller. Every fiber of my being thinks he may have had a thing for sweet, young brunette women.
...Anyway, I'm sure Wesker was at least somewhat nice to Jake's mom, especially considering how much she loved him even years later. Wesker is an arrogant bastard, but he's shown time and time again that he's very capable of playing nice with others. (See: S.T.A.R.S. and Excella.)
I mean, every time he played nice it was because he had ulterior motives, but I don't think he had any reason to manipulate Jake's mom. If he wanted quick sex, he could've gone out and had it with anyone. He wasn't working at the Arklay Laboratory in the middle fuck-ass nowhere anymore. And he wasn't in S.T.A.R.S. yet, so he wasn't in the public eye. If he wanted to get his dick wet and be done with it, he could've done exactly that, but he stuck around Ms. Muller long enough for her to develop strong feelings.
As for the abandoning part... I'm just grasping for anything at this point, but I'm sure that after a while Wesker realized that this (relationship?) wasn't something he could, or wanted to keep up. Nothing was more important to Wesker than his plans. Everything he did was to further his own goals, and Ms. Muller didn't fit into them. Plus he never had issues cutting ties.
The fact that Jake's mom left without a single word about her pregnancy makes me think that he gave her a very good reason not to contact him. I mean, maybe he just up and disappeared one day, but the way that things are worded in the RE6 files gives the impression that Ms. Muller chose not to contact him, not that she couldn't.
Maybe he said something along the lines of "I can't see you anymore." As for a good reason, "I'm not someone you want to associate with; I'm not someone you're going to be able to see in the long run." And then for good measure, "Please do not try to reach me."
--- Stop reading here I accidentally wrote fanfic ---
I can't stop thinking about all the possible ways they could have met, and what Wesker saw in her, and what she saw in him in return.
This is cheesy and overdone, but maybe they met at a coffee shop Wesker frequented. Ms. Muller saw him regularly, and thought he was a little funny in the way he ordered the same thing every day and never seemed to take off those dark sunglasses.
Small glances and acknowledgements of his presence turned into greetings and smiles. Each of them became a part of the others' daily routine, until one day Ms. Muller decided to strike up a conversation.
Wesker, who is usually too caught up in his own ideas and goals to care about anyone but himself, finds that he doesn't particularly mind the woman's presence. Wesker finds it easy to speak to her - refreshing, even. These interactions are not an inconvenience.
Ms. Muller, in my head, would be the first one to suggest that they hang out beyond their little coffee shop encounters. I don't think the thought would have even occurred to Wesker - and he'd surprise himself by saying yes.
Wesker ends up taking nice, long walks with her. Talking with her but mostly just listening to her speak, because although he finds her to be foolish in her naivety and kindness, he also finds her charming for those exact traits. I don't think he'd tell her a damn thing about what he does or what his main interests are.
Maybe he even spends a bit of money on her. He doesn't splurge, of course - money, although he cares not for it, is a tool he could use at a later date. But that necklace she saw through the shop window, or a small lunch when they've both got the time... spending money on those things is harmless enough. Just this once.
I doubt Wesker would want anyone over at his place, even if it does lack many personal touches because all he uses it for is to shower and sleep. He hates the thought of anyone touching, or worse, looking through his things.
But he'd be fine going over to her place, and he ends up doing just that, saying 'yes' to her invitation and...
--- End fanfic ---
TL;DR Wesker caught feelings for a nice young woman from Edonia, engaged in some terrible missionary with her maybe once (maybe several times), and then probably cut things off because he remembered he's evil

i think there was a comparison of tcf and tged here but atleast in tged og lloyd's parents still notice their son is not their actual son, unlike cale's family who were glad he just simply become non trash (this was the most upsetting when i read here that arcos and marbella noticed but cale's did not or even the butlers), a non family member didn't wish or say that it was great that og lloyd was replaced by someone else even if that someone is more helpful to the county, unlike alberu who was glad that cale got replaced, and another atleast suho plans to tell the truth to lloyd's parents unlike with rok soo to cale's parents who accepted he is cale (but then again og cale did request to accept the body they are in as who they are actually are)
i feel like i got a bunch of spoilers shoved down my throat but i have no context to them so no harm done ajshdksfd
i have no idea how fair it is to compare tged to tcf, they're two different pieces of media with their own themes, plots and characters going on and different people like different things. that's fine. i just personally disliked that people kept comparing my blorbo to their blorbo to make theirs look better. i don't want to the same thing! that's not very nice!
so i'm just gonna talk about what i do know which is the way tged treated og lloyd! i've read a bunch of isekai stories and it's rare the times the og characters are taken into account or even acknowledged so i was pleasantly surprised with how much focus tged put on the fact that suho did take someone's place, he did lie to his family and he did pretend to be someone he wasn't. and he feels genuinely sorry about it. he doesn't justify it by thinking he's better than og lloyd anyway so no harm done. he genuinely wants to apologize and make it right and he wants to do it at the right moment.
and then when the people around him find out the truth, they're not,,, happy about it. they don't think it was for the best or that og lloyd got what he deserved or that they're glad for it.
javier is the closest thing we get to something like that and even then he's genuinely torn about what he should do with the information. he hated og lloyd, absolutely despised the guy's guts, but even then he's not glad that he got replaced even when he acknowledges the new lloyd is hardworking, constructive and reliable. he doesn't know where his loyalties should lie and he's "filled with anguish" as he tries to decide what to do.
it would've been very easy for bk moon to just go "yeah he doesn't care that the son of the family he swore to protect got replaced by a stranger that's been lying to him for years" like, ahem, some other people would have, but instead he took the time to acknowledge that "hey, this is a genuinely fucked up situation, there's no right answer here, anyway you slice it someone will get hurt and the only way to move forward is to minimize the damage and make amends to the people who were hurt".
which is nice to see in an isekai! even tho og lloyd was absolute human garbage the narrative didn't dismiss him as a person and instead acknowledge that while it wasn't lloyd's fault there was still a someone being hurt by the fact he possessed a body that wasn't his.
and then when his parents find out they genuinely mourn the child they lost. there's no happiness, no joy, not even relief at being rid of a constant source of worry and disappointed. they're so... sad and heartbroken about their son being gone. even while they accept lloyd as their kid, even as much as they come to love him, there is no moment where they express any kind of pleasure about him replacing og lloyd. rather you get the sensation that they wish they could've had both of them at the same time, that they wish one hadn't come at the price of the other, that they love both of them so, so much even as different as they are.
the only one who doesn't express any kind of regret or sadness about og lloyd is julian which... honestly, it's very earned. no one should be forced to mourn their abuser, which exactly what og lloyd was to julian. if julian had expressed sadness over og lloyd that would've been his right, but the fact that he never did, at least not on-screen shouldn't be held against him, considering the amount of hurt og lloyd caused him.
so yeah! i really like the way bk moon handled this aspect of the story! again, i don't know how tcf works or what happens on it and at this point i'm not really interested in knowing! i'm sure it did its own thing and that it was great too!

hi feel free to disregard this if you need to (I only thought to ask you because of your update posts), but someone I know was sharing something about Israel killing a reporter's family (they were claiming it was an intentional act). their source (some guy on insta) seemed questionable and I was having trouble finding anything that confirmed or denied it (as a deliberate assassination of the family, not whether or not the family died). do you know anything about it or have tips for sifting through information?
thank you whether you answer this or not
Hi! No, please don't hesitate to ask me anything. Sorry it took me a moment, I tried looking into it, and I didn't find anything serious confirming it, other than social media content. So this seems for now to have the same reliability level as the rest of Hamas' reports.
But I do know Israel doesn't intentionally target civilians no matter what. Just today the IDF showed it made over 5.98 million direct calls to Gazan civilians, to warn them and get them to evacuate. And that's just one of many means of communication used to warn and hopefully save civilians. I know anti-Israeli activists like to assume the worst about Israel's intentions (I would love to have their apparent powers of mind reading), but no country spends that amount of money on warning civilians, unless it's actually interested in... not killing civilians.
I also did my mandatory service in the army, I know how we were instructed to strive to defend our population as much as possible, while minimizing any harm to civilians on the other side as much as possible. I remember detailing to a friend from San Diego once how many things an Israeli soldier has to do before they can open fire at a suspect (for example, we had to learn how to shout our warning in Arabic, to make sure that there aren't tragic miscommunications because suspects don't speak Hebrew). And it's the fact that I was there, on the ground, I saw with my own eyes how much the IDF tries to avoid harming civilians, that makes me so certain. People will go, "How can you blindly believe Israeli generals?" and I'll be like, "I don't, I know what Israeli sergeants drilled into our heads repeatedly."
But I'll add to that another point. Unlike the claims made by propagandists, it doesn't actually serve Israel to kill reporters. I know anti-Zionists like to claim that Israel is doing it to silence their reports, but the truth is that, the international outcry over even one journalist who was just claimed (not proven) to have been killed intentionally caused Israel more damage than anything she could have reported. Which is exactly why accusations are made immediately by anti-Israelis. Even if they're never proven (as in her case) or they're disproven (as in the case of the al-Ahli hospital explosion), it doesn't matter. The immediate damage is done, the monstrous image of Israel as bloodthirsty is already cemented in some people's minds, and then they never hear anything to the contrary, or if they do, they no longer believe anything that exonerates that "monstrous" country.
Lastly, I'll add that "journalism" is a term that should be taken with a grain (or even pint) of salt in this context. Nothing is reported from Gaza without the approval of Hamas. Even if Israel intentionally killed every "journalist" there, the messages coming out of Gaza would be exactly the same, because they're the only ones approved by Hamas. Those terrorists would just find someone to put in a "press" vest and stand in front of the camera, delivering those messages. So, anyone who tells you Israel has any reason to kill these journalists, either doesn't understand the reality of Gaza, or is intentionally lying.
I hope this helps! Take care, I hope you and yours are all good! xoxox

Im sorry if this isnt appropriate to ask, you dont have to answer considering you lean more anti-endo, but I dont understand what arguments are there for pro or even neutral endo? Ive honestly really tired to understand because ive seen quite a few systems now say things like "I use to be anti-endo but now ive been informed" or "I use to be anti-endo but ive been educated" and im just not getting? Whats compelling these people to start beliving in the existence of non trauma based DID? Have I just not been informed enough? I tired doing research about it but all I could really fine were people saying "Well we dont know everything about the human mind so you dont know whats posible, you cant tell people what their experiencing is wrong" (I just dont really agree with this point) or if someone just believes spiritually they have like ghosts in the brain??? (As an ashiest I just cant get behind that one) Or they seem to have a bunch of links to studies that supposably prove that scientists also believe in endos but ive yet to read all of them threw but from briefly glancing at a few of these links most of them dont even link to studies having anything to do with them. Its all just very confusing to be honest and I wanted to get someone else perspective on it.
I think most of it is people either A) being tired of getting hate and giving in and just saying they're pro-endo
B) They read the articles endos link, not realizing a majority of them are not made by unbiased people who have actually done proper study. Most of the articles I've seen endos and pro-endos link are not actually done by people who have the correct resources, or they go into a study already biased and instead of doing a double blind or keeping their biases out of their studies, they do the full study themselves and let their biases effect the results. But if you haven't taken actual psychology classes you likely don't know to watch out for these things, and it's easy to look at them and think "oh yeh, these are professional and real so they're right" even tho they're not
Or C) They doom scrolled through pro-endo shit so much that their brain started to agree with it because they were submerging themselves in the community, and when you do that with anything enough your brain will start to justify it, especially if it's causing you stress because the brain wants to solve the stress issue so it just starts to make you think you agree with what's being said
We've actually had C almost happen to us with a few things because some of us have issues with doom scrolling, but were lucky enough to be able to realize when it starts ro happen and take a step back from it
I really don't fault people for being tricked by the misinformation, or just giving up on getting hate for no reason
It's just frustrating to see people act as if because they used to be anti-endo and now they're not they're suddenly enlightened and must be right
We used to be pro-endo, and now we're not and we don't use that as a way to show our view point as the right one.
We will always encourage people to do their own research, and whether they end up pro/neu/anti endo we don't care after that as long as they've researched with actual good sources
If we could find good sources on non-traumagenic systems being possible we would absolutely change our views again, but we've looked. When we were pro-endo we were desperate to justify things, and we just could not find an actual reliable source
So yeh, always do your own research, form your own opinions, just always also make sure the research you're looking at is reliable

Diamond is Unbreakable × F!Reader: Something Comforting
It's not often that you have days like this, but it seems like when things go wrong, boy, does everything go wrong all at once. It starts out small, maybe you woke up late, but then it grows into bombing a presentation, or getting chewed out by a coworker, and then some blonde guy bought the last sandwich at St. Gentleman's before you could get your lunch... In other words, this day has been decidedly not crash. Lucky for you, somebody out there is ready to catch you when you fall, and give you the comfort you need.
(I'm so sorry that this took so long. I have so many drafts, but work has been nuts. I'll try to be better. Feedback always welcome.)
Higashikata Josuke
Expect a strong emotional response when you share your woes with Josuke. He's a defender through and through, and quite literally wears his heart on his shirt.
He's tender af with you, so deeply empathetic. You need soup? A warm bath? He's going to give you what your soul needs.
HOWEVER, he's also the type to get aggro on your behalf. If the source of your mood is another person, expect brute justice.
"What did they just say about my girlfriend?!"
Nijimura Okuyasu
Okuyasu is a surprisingly good listener. He'll cuddle you close and let you cry in his arms, if you need to. No judgement here: this is his job, baby.
Ah, but there's that very angry and frustrated part of him that bursts like a pipe when he thinks he hasn't done enough for you.
From the above, he's prone to wild acts of impulsiveness. Okuyasu is a "do-er" in his own way, and quite the punk.
Expect to find the source of your troubles with a black eye and a busted lip if you see them again. Or a slice missing out of their hair.
Hirose Koichi
The only sane and stable person in this group, tbh.
If you vent to Koichi, the poor guy will become stressed on your half, but listen to every word. He'll hold your hand offer advice.
Is going to help you come up with a plan to tackle your issues, and go the extra mile to help you succeed. Even if you don't see it (he's so reliable).
Will defend your honour if he needs to, but wants to empower you to succeed, first.
Kishibe Rohan
He doesn't care, why don't you grow up? Cares so fucking much it hurts him.
So out of his element in what to do, though. What does he do to ensure that this will never happen to you again? You're his, he needs to do something!
Stop him before he does something unhinged like using Heaven's Door to make them act like the worms he knows they are.
You're staying at his place tonight. No negotiation on this.
Kujo Jotaro
Oh fuck, he's so bad at this. Might make things worse by saying the wrong thing. "Why are you sad? This isn't a problem."
Feels like shit when you cry more. He knew as soon as he opened his mouth that he shouldn't have said that. Good grief.
Jotaro's comfort will come in the form of soft touches. He'll hold in his arms and keep you safe. Just stay here. He's gonna take care of it.
Cool on the outside, murder on the inside. You will never know that he fixed this.

The Goblin Shark
The goblin shark is a species of shark. It's also happens to be my absolute favourite.
The scientific name for this "little" creature is Mitsukurina owstoni. It's a rare species that lives in depths greater than 100 metres (330 feet for my American friends), although it can possibly dive up to 1 300 metres deep (4 270 feet) (according to some scientists). Adults usually find their habitat deeper than juveniles. They have been found in all of the major oceans, suggesting that the species lives pretty much all around the globe.
The goblin shark was first discovered around 1906 (although I'm not sure about this since my sources did not state the exact date) at the eastern coast of Japan. To this day, fewer than 50 goblin sharks have been spotted. Some dead specimens have been hauled up for research.
Studies show that the goblin shark is a pretty damn old species. It has been described as a "living fossil". It seems that it is the only surviving shark species of the Mitsukurindae family. Some fossils have been found, suggesting that other lines of species from the same family have once existed.
These sharks are usually a colour of pink. They have 26 sharp teeth in their upper jaw, and 24 in their lower. (Their jaw is unique, but I'll explain more later on in this post.) The goblin shark also has a long snout above its mouth.
Unlike most other deep-sea sharks, the goblin shark has a fully working iris. Its pupils can dilate and contract when the tiny amounts of lights are detected down in their habitat. This is most likely to help them locate prey.
This shark can grow to over 3,7 metres long (12 feet), with the estimated maximum around 7 metres (23 feet). Usually it stays between 3 and 4 metres.
The maximum weight recorded was 210 kilograms (460 pounds). I think it's pretty safe to say that these are not that small animals.
Now, what makes these creatures unique (and my favourite) is the goblin shark's jaw and hunting technique. The goblin shark hunts by thrusting its jaw forward with a velocity of 3,14 metres per second (I don't know how to tell the speed in any other way, sorry), the fastest recorded for any shark species (also faster than most cobra strikes). The jaw can extend to a length of up to 7,6 centimetres (3 inches) with an angle up to 111 degrees (for comparison, the average human can open their jaw to about 50 degrees). Pretty impressive, right?
In conclusion: The goblin shark is a deep-sea shark species that hunts by thrusting its jaw forward. We don't know much about them, since only a little under 50 specimens have been spotted within the 118 years after the first discovery at the coast of Japan.
Below I have provided pictures and a couple of gifs of these creatures. I own none of the pictures, and I made sure none of them are copyrighted.
(Please view pictures with your own risk, this creature isn't that nice-looking)

This post was just a random idea that popped up in my head during the car ride to visit my grandpa. I decided to actually write it (despite having way better things to do). I think I might write about other sharks too. I kinda wanna write about the mako shark, the great white shark and the hammerhead shark as well. At least about them. Possibly about the megalodon. Feel free to ask any questions or request a post for any specific species of shark :)
I also want to share awareness about how misunderstood sharks are. I'll write a separate, short post about it sometime. Not here because this post would get way too long. I'll talk about the movies "Jaws" and "The Meg", because it's important to understand how these have affected our view on sharks.
Edit: guess who forgot to cite their sources *insert a skull emoji*

Mischief and Misinformation, part 1
Obi-Wan was sitting in the living area enjoying a cup of tea when Anakin's presence slammed into him with the force of a hurricane. Only judicious use of the Force kept him from bobbling his cup. He'd managed to set the cup back on its saucer and turned to the door as the boy himself entered.
"Master!" Anakin's face was drawn into a stormy scowl. "You never said you was a slave like me!"
"Were," Obi-Wan corrected automatically, before the words caught up with him. "Wait, I beg your pardon? I was a what?"
Anakin stomped across the room and flung himself into the other chair.
"You were a slave! I was in the Archives working on that dumb grammar thing and I overheard a couple of padawans talking and they were saying how you were passed over and sent away to the Aggor- Agurri-"
"Agri-Corp?" Obi-Wan ventured, non-plussed.
"Yeah! That! You were sent there and got stolen into slavery and Mister Qui-Gon came along an' saved you an' took pity on you an' made you his padawan!"
Obi-Wan used the excuse of sipping his tea to try and gather his thoughts.
"I'm not sure what you thought you heard-"
"I'm not lying!"
Dishes rattled nearby. He frowned down at Anakin, who ducked his head and muttered an apology.
"I'm not saying you did," Obi-Wan said. "However, those padawans must have been telling tales because I can assure you that I was never sent away to the Agri-Corp." He straightened a bit, unable to resist the chance to lecture on one of the Temple's common myths.
"Initiates aren't sent away to the service corps as some kind of punishment, Ani; it's a choice, it's always a choice. What good would a gardener or a healer or what have you if they had no interest or aptitude for the work?"
"But-"
"It's just a scare tale shared among the crechelings and initiates; that if you don't do well enough you'll be sent away from the Order."
Obi-Wan huffed a chuckle. "The Order does everything it can to protect its children. If there's someone who finds they aren't suited to the path of a Knight then there are several councils in place to help them find their way, whether it's to return home, continue a more normal course of schoolwork elsewhere on Coruscant, or to be apprenticed to a trade, the Order will never abandon one of its own."
"Even if someone thinks communication & grammar is a bunch of poodoo?" Anakin muttered into his lap.
He laughed. "Even then."
He reached out, offering, and Anakin slid off his chair and crawled into Obi-Wan's lap.
"I don't know what to tell you about the rest of that story those padawans were telling." He wrapped his arms around his own padawan. "I'm sorry you were the one to hear it and that it caused more upset, but I promise I've never been a slave and that Qui-Gon sought me out right here in the Temple to ask me to be his padawan; there was no pity or coercion about it."
"Oh."
The word was muffled by the folds of Obi-Wan's robes. He patted Anakin's back.
"In the future, I'd advise you to have a little more care in choosing who and what you believe. Padawans aren't always the most reliable source of information, you know."
He jostled his leg, earning a grumble.
"Now, why don't we head down to the cafeteria and see if we can sweet talk one of the servers into giving us some spice rolls?"
He pulled his arms back just in time.
"YEAH!" Anakin leapt out of his lap, punched the air, and headed for the door. "C'mon, Master! Stop being so slow!"
Grinning, Obi-Wan stood and stretched. "I'll try to keep up, Ani, but have pity on an old man."
"Just means more spice rolls for me!"
Anakin was out the door and running. Obi-Wan gave chase.
He didn't think much more about the story Anakin had overheard. At least not until the next one cropped up.

Minjeong's name wasn't on the note, Yeri would never let her participate anyway. So why was she so eager to help? Maybe she heard about it through the grapevine and wanted to try herself. The thought made you uneasy.
"You deserve to be surrounded by people who love and cherish you..."
Does she actually care about you as a person or does she just want to clear her guilty conscience? She is still dating Hyunsuk, after all. Minjeong's proposal causes Sungchan to give you a worried look, but you flash him an assured smile. The last thing you needed was for him to worry about you.
She doesn't try anything throughout your first research session. She was surprisingly easy to work with. The two of you decided to take turns researching and recording the information.
"Google scholar says a lot of people cited this book, but it looks pretty daunting."
"Let me see," Minjeong turns the Chromebook toward her and skims through the pdf. "Ah! This is about the Beauvais Cathedral? I took a tour of the building during a trip to France, I think it's a great example of medieval stained glass. How about I read this book when I get home and take some notes? I think it could be worth our time."
You shrug, a bit intimidated by how thorough she was. "I don't see why not."
Take some notes she said. She damn near wrote another book. She flipped through pages and pages of notes. They weren't messy by any means, organized in a way that made the information easy to consume.
"Woah... I gotta say, you're doing all the work." You say, dazed as you analyze her neat handwriting.
"That's not true, you've been pretty good at finding reliable sources that fit the criteria." Minjeong assures, tilting her head to the side.
"Don't try to make me feel better." You close her notebook, letting her know that it looked great. Maybe this was her way of trying to break through. Your smile falters at her possible ulterior motive.
"Well, in that case, I would appreciate more help. Your notes are pretty good, but I find it difficult to find important details. Maybe you could organize them like mine or condense the information just to what you know we'll use." Minjeong is firm but not cold with her recommendations. All you can do is nod like an idiot. Though it takes you a couple of all-nighters, you take her criticisms. She made sure to balance every criticism with praise that seemed genuine. You couldn't tell if you were just bad at reading people, but you could no longer sense an ulterior motive.
"Here, I know it's getting difficult, but we're doing pretty well for ourselves." She hands you a cup of iced coffee. "The weather's heating up a bit and I know you like mocha lattes." Minjeong says the last bit with less conviction, knowing your past relationship is a sore topic.
"Thanks." You take the drink reluctantly. She didn't seem eager to do the favor and her apprehension didn't seem forced. Perhaps it was too soon, but something was screaming at you that this was okay for now. You told yourself that the first red flag you noticed, you'd build your walls back up just as quickly as you tore them down.
Plus, the coffee was much needed. You didn't have enough disposable income to get coffee every morning, and you also had your sculpture to worry about. The multi-faced design was challenging, but you decided to just go through with it.
"That's a pretty unique idea."
You expect the observation to come from Professor Kwon, but a masculine voice has you whipping your head in the direction of its owner.
"I thought you were Professor Kwon breathing down my neck again. What are you doing here? Not many students use the studio at this hour."
Sungchan presses his lips into a thin line as he walks toward you. "I actually work on my project every day around this time. I just do it in one of the empty rooms. More privacy and whatnot." He takes a closer look at your work and you're seriously getting deja vu.
"Haven't you noticed we go home at the same time most days?"
"I guess that is true." You chew on your thumbnail as his eyes scan your hard work with an emotion you can't read. "If you're gonna say you hate it, just say it already."
"No- it's just... I can't really grasp what you're trying to say." He takes a step back, taking in more of the sculpture.
"Something about welcoming different emotions, even the uncomfortable ones. I dunno, it's stupid-"
"I think it's creative. Everyone else I know is doing something easy and recognizable. Trying to get a good grade and go, which is understandable. But you're using your art as your outlet. Just like a true artist." He props his head up with his fist, eyes moving from your art to you. His words make your cheeks heat up and it annoys you. You roll your eyes at your predictability before focusing on anything else but him.
"Thanks. I think this helped a little bit."
Minjeong and Sungchan weren't even a part of this re-friending plan Yeri and Sana made, but you couldn't help but use it to navigate your relationships with them. Even if it turns out they don't have your best interest in mind, you want to at least give them a chance. Minjeong still being with Hyunsuk made it harder. Every time you saw them walk down the hallway together it made you uncomfortable. What if you and Minjeong become friends again and you have to watch her marry him? Are you supposed to sit there and pretend you don't think he's cancer personified? What if she stays friends with Eunji and you keep butting heads? What if she keeps them around because they're all she has left?
Maybe it was because of this plan thing and you promising to be more upfront with the people in your life, but you felt compelled to ask the question.
"Have you spoken to Minjeong yet?"
Sungchan goes stiff for a moment, brows furrowing. "No, why should I? I think that chapter's just over."
"You can't just rip the last few pages out and call it finishing a chapter."
The annoyance blooming on his beautiful features almost makes you falter, but you stay firm.
"You don't understand." He says dismissively.
"I do though, more than anyone in our friend group."
He knows this very well, but he still turns away from you. When you slide back into his field of vision he inhales deeply.
"I know more than anyone that it'll take a while to restore those pages, let alone finish them, but the time will pass anyway. Why not at least try?"
He still seemed a bit dismissive of your advice, but he started working on his art in the studio with you. Just like with Minjeong, you don't feel any warning signs blaring at you. As time goes by you feel more and more natural with the two of them. Less focused on scoping out ill will.
-
Though you were busy, you still made time out to pretend you had just met Sana and Yeri.
"You like Hello Kitty? Me too!" Yeri fails to hold in her laugh as she tugs at the charm dangling from your purse. Snorting, you twist your body back and forth to make it wiggle.
"I've loved Hello Kitty since I was a wee lad."
Yeri jumps at the chance to speak in a British accent. "Oi! Now you're talking bruv-"
"Hey! This is a serious exercise! You're supposed to find the root of your bond!" Sana snaps her head towards the two of you before continuing to look for some book in her packed bookshelf.
"She's right. The fact that we share a love for Hello Kitty really makes me happy because I don't meet many people who see her as a comfort character." Yeri switches back to her normal talking voice and punches your shoulder to dull the sappiness.
"That makes me feel good to hear that." You smile, reapplying the sappiness to her chagrin.
"You're really asking for a shiner now bruv." She holds her fists up as the accent comes back with a vengeance.
"Found it!" Sana drops from her tippy toes with a purple book in hand. "Do you remember when you lent me this freshman year?" She hands the book to you.
"Yes! Ah, I remember reading this now." You take the book and look at it fondly.
"I was going through a hard time because my childhood dog died, and you gave this to me. You said it helped you through a hard time. Before I knew it, I was already re-reading it. I didn't want to give it back because of how good it made me feel, but I thought that maybe you needed it to get through your own hard times. When you told me to keep it, it was a moment I'd never forget. I kept it on my coffee table to remind me to keep an optimistic outlook, but honestly, I just kept thinking about how thoughtful you were. It helped even more." The tenderness in Sana's expression made you drop the book and wrap your arms around her. She returns the embrace, squeezing your body until you can't breathe. You don't mind, keeping the hug going.
A ding is what saves you from suffocating to death.
"Oh! The cookies are ready!"
-
The date of your presentation was approaching rapidly. Your eyes were beyond dry and your blood was half caffeine thanks to Minjeong. You open your front door and she rushes in with two drinks in her hand. You smile gratefully, struggling to keep your eyes open.
"Sorry I'm late! My manager made me stay longer since it got busy. I- god... I'm so-" Minjeong hurriedly sets the drinks on your counter, sending a frustrated hand through her much shorter hair.
"It's fine. It's understandable that you're a bit frazzled. It must be so difficult balancing a job and university."
She stays silent, opting to instead send you a thankful but apologetic look.
"Your hair looks amazing by the way. I think short hair suits you more." You find that the compliment comes naturally, and you feel warmth when she smiles.
"Thank you. Shall we get started?"
Despite the hiccup, everything went smoothly. The two of you achieved a surprising amount of progress in one day. It almost seemed as if she was pushing herself. "Are you okay? We don't need to rush this much."
"Yeah, but I want to get done as soon as possible, you know?" Minjeong laughs nervously. Her new haircut couldn't hide the fact that she wasn't getting much sleep. She knew she must've looked horrible. So much stress on top of not eating or sleeping well was doing her in. He wasn't looking at her like he used to...
"Are you really okay though?" You wanted to explain why you asked, but didn't out of fear of overstepping a boundary and deepening your relationship before you were ready.
Minjeong couldn't ignore how much she liked spending time with you. Even if it was just doing work. What she didn't like was how you could see through her lies. You had been through it before, after all. You were constantly dropping breadcrumbs that you knew Hyunsuk was sucking the life out of her.
"I'm..." She inhales, holding her breath for a moment. "Well, I think you know the answer." She exhales a laugh. "I know I'm not a good person, but you worrying about me still makes me feel good."
You wanted to deny that you were worrying about her, but it'd be especially challenging to do so without looking like a liar. So it was settled. You'd lend her a helping hand. Only because you couldn't stand seeing someone go through what you did. She says checking up on her makes her feel good, so you continue to do that. She brings you coffee and you make her food to ensure she's eating well. You walk and talk with her whenever you can, whether it's to and from class or walking home with her.
Everyone was always telling you how bad Hyunsuk was and that you just needed to break up with him already. It didn't help, it just made you feel more stupid about staying with him. It's inevitable that Minjeong will start to realize how horrible Hyunsuk is, and you know that what she needs is comfort during those painful times.
So you hold her hand as you walk her home, watching as she cried silently. You don't say anything, you just let her know that she's not alone. When you reach her house, the two of you stand there for a while. She cries to herself and continues holding your hand until she felt okay enough to go inside.
"Thank you for last night. I..." She trails off before chuckling, a hint of embarrassment flaring up inside her, "I would've never known how to ask for that."
"Don't even mention it. I know it's hard, but just know that the pain is a part of the healing process. Just like cleaning out a wound."
Minjeong brushes her hair behind her ear with a small smile. "What I said has got to be true."
You look at her questioningly as she shuts her laptop.
"If you could help me, someone who hurt you, imagine what you could do for someone who's been hurt in the same way."
-
"You guys did a great job on the research. We all did great." Yuto smiles genuinely. You can tell he's just happy you and Minjeong are getting along. You hate to admit that his stupid scheme worked out in the end. It feels better when you tell yourself that fixing you guys' relationship was entirely you and Minjeong's doing. He probably thought it was as simple as just talking to each other, he could keep thinking that way. You knew what went into making up with Minjeong and that's all that matters.
The two of you share a proud glance before looking back at Yuto.
"Now all that's left is to give the presentation. Sungchan, you're up!"
The glance you and Sungchan share is less confident. You ignore the awkwardness and flash him an encouraging smile.
You wave goodbye at Minjeong before slinging your tote over your shoulder. "Are you coming to the studio today?"
"Of course. I still have a lot of work to do, and watching you inspires me to get through it." He says as if the confession was embarrassing. He had no clue what it did to you.
There was no easy way to bring up Minjeong again without making it uncomfortable. You hug your book to your chest as the two of you made your way to the studio.
"What's on your mind?" He asks, raising his eyebrows at you. You chew on your lip as he pushes the doors open for you. Opting to wait a bit, you lie.
"Nothing, just thinking about finals." You situate yourself at your station and he does the same across from you. It was hard to tell if he was being silent because he didn't believe you or because he actually didn't have a response.
"I see you and Minjeong are friends again." He notes as he sets up his station. An opening appears.
"We're getting there. It just feels good to finally work something out that had been weighing on me for the longest." You sneakily peek at him but he catches the look. He sighs disappointedly but you press on. "I promise it'll feel so much better if you just confront the issue instead of running away."
"You can't force me to make up with Minjeong." The aggravation voice makes you flinch. "You know, you're starting to sound like Yuto right now."
You expected him to leave, but he just returned his attention to his art. This was bad, you couldn't end the topic with him comparing you to Yuto. Your tongue darts out to wet your dry lips.
"I wouldn't care if you never made up with her for the rest of your life." Sure of yourself, you stop to turn your body toward him. Your words make his hand pause in the air before dropping. He shoots you a wary look. "Minjeong already accepted the fact that you may never forgive her, but this isn't about Minjeong. You're allowed to feel hurt about something that happened to you. You're the one that helped me understand this." You step closer to him cautiously, praying you're not screwing everything up.
The way he looks away makes you think he knows exactly what you're talking about.
"I know I asked if you spoke to her, but you don't even need to do that. However you choose to navigate your pain, just know I'm here for you." You extend your hand to him, pleading determination in your eyes. He examines your face before regarding your hand. Your heart does backflips when he takes it into his own, mumbling about how he wouldn't promise anything.
After you graduate, you weren't sure if you'd ever see Sungchan again. If you could be of any help in the little time you had left with him in your life, you'd do just that. You made sure to put no pressure on him, focusing on making him comfortable just like you did for Minjeong. You never brought it up first, which meant you went a while without talking about it at all. It was a miracle he even told you about what happened that night, he seems so guarded because of it.
Still, you entered the studio with a smile like you did every other day, asking him how his day went.
"I talked to her." He mumbles, not turning away from his project. You freeze, stumbling over your words.
"That's great Sungchan! What did you say?" You walk up to him, excitement oozing out of your voice no matter how much you tried to contain it.
"It was about the presentation. She wished me luck and I thanked her." His eyes flit toward yours quickly, but not too quick that you didn't notice.
You purse your lips to hide the smile that threatened to show. It was a bit cute how he announced just saying one word to her. Progress was progress, nevertheless.
"I know it's not much."
"It's plenty. Sungchan," You step closer to him. He turns toward you slightly, only putting his carving knife down when your eyes meet. "I'm so happy you're trying." You can feel his jaw clenching when you lay your hand on the side of his face.
"It was weird and awkward." He wanted to ask if it would always be like this but decided it was a stupid question. All he wanted to do was go back to ignoring her and hating her guts. Though he wouldn't admit it aloud just yet, he trusted your advice. So he pushed through.
The day of the presentation finally came. Sungchan and Minjeong were still barely speaking full sentences to each other. He kept pushing, even if he wanted to shrivel up into nothing after every interaction. He wasn't even nervous about the presentation, just about the four drinks in his hands. He sits one on the desk in front of you and you smile up at him. He smiles back. In the back of his mind, he wonders if it's too soon to pat the top of your head. Next is Minjeong, who's sitting in the front alone. He exhales through pursed lips as he makes his way down.
All of the students funneling into the lecture hall hide the fact that Sungchan is approaching until he's right in front of Minjeong. Her eyes are wide as he sets the can down with a huff. "Good luck today." He mumbles before looking away.
"Thank you! This was really sweet." Minjeong's attempt at a sweet tone falters as the uncomfortable air continues to loom over the both of them. No matter how much they try to ignore it, it's like there's a big blinking sign screaming 'Minjeong did something horrible'. She clears her throat.
"This is going to probably be the last time we'll speak so, congratulations on graduating. I hope you lead a fruitful life." Minjeong struggles to keep her expression from souring at the thought of never speaking to him again.
"I doubt it. There's a lot of time before then and now. Anything could happen." Sungchan shrugs. The reassurance was minuscule, but it was enough for hope to fill her chest.
"Right. Anything could happen."
Watching them across the room was heartwarming. It was actually happening. They were talking. The fact that this might be because of you felt fulfilling. You remember the letter stating something about you being significant in other people's lives. It felt far-fetched. Like desperate lies to make you feel good. Now you can see some of the truth in it.
You couldn't wait for Sungchan to walk through the doors of the studio. It was no use hiding your excitement. The longer it took for him to come, the harder it'd be for you to stop yourself from hugging him. There was a moment where you faltered. Sungchan and Minjeong were standing together after the presentation and someone commented on how good they'd look as a couple.
If they decide to reconcile completely and date again, maybe they'd heal their heartache sooner. It's for the best. You had no right to be upset.
Sungchan walks in with his head drooping. When he lifted it slightly, thinking about greeting you but deciding against it, you notice the uneasy look on his face.
"I'm so proud of you!- Wait, what's wrong." You rush up to him, dropping your outstretched arms once you notice. "Today was such a great day, you properly talked to Minjeong and the presentation went well. Don't you feel good about it?" You grab his arms as he looks down at you.
"I do. I feel really good. I talked to her more after her last class, things are progressing really quickly." He looks like he's holding something back. Was he about to tell you that they were dating?
"When she smiled at me, it reminded me of the first time I saw her. I always loved her smile, it could instantly improve my day. In my mind, I imagined her smiling at me after we made up and me falling for her again." He explained quietly, oblivious to the knife he was jamming into your chest. You force a smile, nodding for him to continue. You blink rapidly when his hands caress your neck and face.
"I felt nothing. No, that's not true. I couldn't stop thinking about you." He pressed his forehead against your, noses bumping into each other. There it was again, that intoxicating feeling you got when he was this close. You needed to pull away so you could think. There was a chance Minjeong's feelings for him reignited. "I want to kiss you really bad, and I have for months now." His lips brush against yours and you feel your body temperature rise. "I don't know if it's too soon for me to admit that."
Your eyes flutter closed. How were you feeling? Besides the obvious arousal, you felt a tinge of guilt. The runner-up was a prominent urge to be selfish. Was it wrong? Probably, but you stopped apologizing for your emotions months ago.
"Fuck it, kiss me."
A wave of emotions washed over you as Sungchan's lips crashed into yours. The kiss was different from the first night you had each other. This one was slower and needier. Using every millisecond you were pressed together to savor each other. Hands threading through each other's hair had he walked you toward the nearest table. He swiftly lifts you to sit atop the desk and you hiss as the cool, black material presses against your hot skin. Your lips meld together like hot wax. Every time you hold off on touching him, it makes the next time you do ever more ravenous. He licks your bottom lip, requesting access. You gladly invite his tongue in and get to work massaging yours against his.
His cool hands push your shirt up, disconnecting to pull it over your head. The garment is promptly discarded before his lips are pursuing yours again. His large hands gather the flesh guarded by your bra into a firm squeeze. He swallows your impending moans, the sweet noises pulling noises from his own throat.
When he pulls away, you notice the hint of guilt on his face. That must be the reason he was mopey earlier. It doesn't deter him just like it doesn't deter you. No matter how much you both don't want to hurt Minjeong, all you could focus on was how much you needed each other. Nothing else mattered whenever his soft lips melted against yours.
All your worries slowly faded away with each article of clothing that was plucked from your bodies.
"I want to properly experience your body this time." He breathes against your lips before pressing a kiss to your jaw. His lips were sloppy, almost lazy in the way they trailed down to the valley between your breasts. Leaving wet and loose kisses anywhere skin was exposed. Your bra was the first undergarment to go as his hands slid up your waist, then around to your back. His lips never leave your skin, discarding the bra onto the floor with the rest of the clothes.
The kisses grow more eager as his lips explore your breast. Pressing them to the underside of your breast. Darting his tongue out to skim across the soft skin. Sucking and biting whenever he wanted to hear you moan and whimper. He comes across one of your nipples and happily wraps his lips around it. Through his lashes, he watches you drowsily.
Sungchan being the perfect man wasn't even an observation worth making. It was just a fact that everyone understood as soon as they saw him. Towering over everyone else while looking like he was ripped out of the pages of a manga. A living, breathing angel sticking out like a sore thumb amongst the mere mortals. It was almost annoying.
Having someone this beautiful crouched in front of you with his mouth wrapped around your nipple as he stared into your eyes makes every sensation more palpable. You lay your hands flat on the tabletop, leaning backward to enjoy the view. His hair falls into his face his head twists to stimulate the bud with his tongue. The scene was so captivating that you wanted to paint it and hang it on your wall.
The way he delivers quick flicks to one nipple with his tongue while pinching the other has you kicking your head back. Soft and short whimpers trickle from your lips as your core ignites. Every touch and noise coming from him makes you more desperate to be fucked. God, just thinking about how he drilled into you the last time you had him has you salivating.
"Mm... mouth feels so good... need more," You drawl, running your tongue over your dry lips. His fingers hook underneath your panties. You lift your hips up to aid him. His lips continue their journey down your body until he was kissing and licking at your thighs. Growing closer and closer to where you ached for him. You buck your hips up, hoping he'd get the memo. He notices, but ignores you. Nothing was quite as important to him as watching you whine and scrunch your face up when he teased you. It was too bad he missed out on this last time.
The heat as he got closer to your core drew him in. The closer he got, the more he could smell your arousal. He grabs your knees and spreads your legs. The sight of your glistening folds makes him fully drop to his knees. His lips brush against your vagina, reveling in the way your legs jerk inward, threatening to close around him. The thought of having the pillowy flesh surrounding his head didn't seem half bad.
He continued his tried and true formula, kissing and licking until you were a whining mess. "Please..." You mewl, grabbing a fistful of his hair. His nose nudges against your clit as you push him into you. The friction on the sensitive nub makes your legs snap closed. He hums, vibration sending shockwaves through your body. Your legs clamped around him and your pathetic sounds are enough incentive for him to start giving you what you need. Firm and deliberate licks that finally give you proper pleasure. You thank him quietly and grind into his tongue.
You brush his hair out his face before tightening your grip on the strands again. His eyes roll back at the slight stinging sensation it leaves him with. If you thought his mouth on your breasts was hot, this was just heavenly. Despite how lewd it was, him gazing at you while his tongue flicks your hardened clit, he still looked like an angel. "You're so, so pretty." You mumble, jaw going slack after you speak. He reacts with a salacious moan. His saliva and your arousal drip from your crotch onto the table. You can't see, but you'd imagine his chin was glistening right about now.
Sloppy sounds fill the air, making your cheeks hot. His eager groans and the sound of his wet muscle massaging your clit were deliciously obscene. A few minutes in and you're already lurching against his face, warning about your incoming climax. "S-so close baby. Don't stop." You chant in a hushed voice again and again for him not to stop. He listens, carrying you through your first climax with long firm licks over the entirety of your slit. You shiver, pulling his head off of you before he can overstimulate.
With the release of his hair, he's rising to his feet. The sight of him wiping his mouth off with his forearm halts your breathing. He grips your thighs hard, digging his fingers into them. "You're so perfect." He whispers before pecking the top of your head. He uses his grip to pull you to the very edge of the desk. With a tug over his hips, his boxers fall to the ground. He wraps his arms around your waist and you lean into him. His tip prods at your pussy and you clench your eyes shut.
His cock is hot, turning an angry red from all the blood rushing to it. He wraps his arms tighter around you which makes his head push further into your folds. With a pleading groan, you graze your nails down his back. Moving lower until they meet his ass and you give it a firm push. His dick sinks into your wet, swollen folds. Pushing into your tight entrance and slowly opening you up.
Needy noises fill the room as you desperately cling to one another. He was drowning in your juices. It was hard to hold out with how amazing it felt to slide in and out of your wet, plush walls. "Fuck, you're so wet." He pants between grunts, entranced by the way his cock disappears inside you.
"Only for you."
He looks up at you and you press your tongue against his jaw. Licking a stripe up to his cheek and it drives him wild. He hungrily devours your lips. Tongues lapping against the other and teeth nipping soft lips. The force of his hips slamming against yours makes your legs weak. Sounds of slapping skin filling your ears and making you more turned on.
Grabbing a fist full of your hair, he tugs your head back. You whimper as he takes control of the kiss. His dick drags in and out of your puckered hole. You're milking him for all he's worth and he's fucking you hard into the table. Both getting exactly what you need in that moment. He shoves his hips hard against you, forcing your legs even wider. "Just for me?" He asks, fire in his eyes.
"Only for you." You confirm, wrapping your arms around his neck. He eagerly accepts your lips again. Sucking on your bottom lip harshly. Despite how desperate you were to get each other off last time, he still wasn't this rough. It was hotter than you expected it to be. You arch your back into him, breasts smushed between the two of you. "Give it to me," You plead, moaning helplessly as he thrusts into you with punishing force.
Filthy, intense pursuits to taste each other's mouth fade to tender pecks as you both grow close. He lifts you off the table, squeezing your ass as he fucks you on his cock. "Yes baby, fuck- you feel so good," He groans. Every sound turns whinier as he fucks you deep, "I'm so fucking close." He breaths. His lips brush against the column of your neck.
"Me too," You moan out."
The speed of your hips pushing together has your vision going out. Head falling backward as swears pour from your lips. Your legs wrap around his waist tight, pressing your heels into his hips to push him deeper. The action seemingly pushes Sungchan over the edge as his moans reach a volume you've never heard before. He sinks his teeth into your shoulder, needy noises so sweet as they enter your ears. Hearing him like this has your legs going limp. He holds you tight as you convulse. Your hands clench his brown locks as you clench his dick like a vice. As he pulls out, fluids drip onto the floor of the studio.
"Oh, fuck." You say in reaction to what just transpired and the mess you'd have to clean up.
"So filthy..." He chuckles and you whip your head toward him, cheeks hot. "What? It's the truth."
"Ugh..." You bury your head in the crook of his neck and he continues to laugh. He hugs you tighter as he settles into one of the chairs. The two of you sit there for a moment, enjoying the embrace.
-
"Now this? This is amazing. You should be proud of yourself." Professor Kwon nods, pleased with your finished sculpture. "Did you finally get it together because of this one?" She points toward the man smirking at you on the other side of the room.
"If anything he was the one distracting me." You say narrowing your eyes at him,
"Mrs. Kwon, that's just not true. Her sculpture wouldn't have a head if it weren't for me." He sighs, shaking his head.
"Do you still want yours?" You raise your sculpting knife and he guards his neck. Professor Kwon looks between the two of you disapprovingly.
"Children, I swear. Good job, ___. I'm seriously impressed." Her pleased tone was dampened by her displeasure with your antics. The compliment was still appreciated.
"Thank you, Professor Kwon."
She loved your piece, so why were you still so nervous to show it off at the festival? If anyone's input was valuable it was her. Still, you wrung your hands together as each person walked up to your piece. "Hey," Sungchan rests his hand on your shoulder. You knew he could tell how stressed you were.
"Don't worry about me, I'm fine." Was a bald-faced lie, but you said it anyway, ignoring the enormous lump in your throat.
"I don't mind worrying about you, though."
You glance up at his light-hearted smile. He looked dashing in his white button-up. He could make anything look like a designer suit. His brown locks hung forward as he looked down at you. You couldn't help but look away.
"Okay," You give in, giggling as he squeezed your side.
He continued to comfort you every day of the festival, pointing out every amazed reaction to your art. Each day you longed for him more, heart clenching at the mere thought of his attentiveness.
The last day arrived, and Yeri approached you with her arms full.
"Woah... do I really need this many?" You pick up one of the many lanyards. They're teal with your school name printed all over the fabric. Clipped to the end was a card with the same heart design from the wax seal.
"I-I know, I wasn't sure how many to make so I just said fuck it." She stammers, worry tugging at her features. "Anyway, you know what to do, right? Just put the lanyard on who you chose for the new friend group." Her eyes dance around the decorations and booths of the festival. You collect all the lanyards from her.
"Why are you so nervous?" You take one and stuff the rest in the pit of your elbow. She blinks rapidly and leans her head down as you raise it toward her. All of her worries melt away as the fabric settles around her neck.
"I don't know... I just thought maybe I wasn't taking it seriously enough-"
"Leave the sappy stuff to Sana. You making me laugh is more than enough." You pat her shoulder. She makes a frustrated noise.
"I know you just said to leave it to Sana but I'm gonna hug you now." She engulfs you in a soft hug, resting her chin on your shoulder. "Thank you." She says next to your ear.
Next you found Sana, immediately lowering the lanyard over her head as well. You hand her another one. "Give this to Moonbin if you see him." You smile as she pulls you into a famous Sana hug. One where your bones can be heard cracking from a mile away. To your surprise, you ended up handing out eight. But you still weren't done. You stuff the rest of the lanyards in your bag with two clenched in your fist.
You wander through the festival, watching as the sun sets. When you see Minjeong sitting alone in front of one of the food stalls you approach her. She looked sad, forcing a smile when she noticed you approaching. Her eyes land on the lanyards in your hand.
"It's this thing me and the girls are doing."
"Yeah, I know. Sana told me a while back." She nods with a hefty exhale.
"Really? Why didn't you say anything?"
"I appreciate her worrying about me, but I don't really think I have the right to fight for you to forgive me. Besides, I already put you through enough, making you help me with Hyunsuk..." She picks at her food, her smile fading. The feeling of fabric dropping on her shoulder makes her jump. When she looks up she's met with your warm smile.
"Working with you on the group project made me realize that we can both benefit from being in each other's lives."
Minjeong chuckles, wiping away a tear that slips from her eyes.
"And you have to worry about annoying me or anything. I'm ready to stick with you for as long as you need to get over Hyunsuk."
"Oh, you don't have to worry about that anymore." She laughs bitterly. You give her a puzzled look and she continues. "He was giving a tour to upcoming freshmen and met Sullyoon. According to Yuto, he referred to her as a fairy come to life. Even after he broke up with me, they still stuck by his side." Minjeong rested her face in her hands. "I don't know why I'm venting about this to you. I bet you're thinking I got a taste of my own medicine."
"Not at all. I'm just excited to introduce you to the new friend group." You grab the card strapped to the lanyard. "Here's to starting over." You flash her a smile that she reciprocates.
There was just one more person left. He was exactly where you knew he'd be, inside the building where the sculptures are on display. Excitement graces his perfect features when he sees you. "I was waiting for you." He waits until you're close enough to drape his arms over your shoulder.
"Really? Why?" You quirk your head to the side.
"To do this..." He lowers his face closer to yours, lips brushing over yours before they meld together. When he pulls away, you take the opportunity to squeeze your arms between the two of you and swing the lanyard over his head. Bewildered, he steps away and looks at the card hanging from his neck. "What's this?" He chuckles as he examines the heart.
You watch him, no sign of troubles weighing him down. Carefree as he smiles at you. It felt good knowing that you had a hand in it, even if it was the tiniest impact. You knew there'd be more hardships to come, but they didn't seem so daunting anymore. Not while you had each other. It motivated you to protect your own well-being so you could efficiently protect the poeple you care about.
"A promise."

Robin’s just arrived in Baltigo when she’s summoned to the Chief of Staff’s office for coffee. Judging by the bags under his eyes, the last thing this kid needs is caffeine. (Basically it’s right after the Paramount war and Sabo’s still kind of a mess and he’s desperate to know as much about Luffy as he can.)
She knocks firmly on the door. She has no idea why she's here, who she's supposed to meet, or even if this is the right door, but she hasn't gotten this far in life by hesitating.
"Come," a voice says, and she opens the door to a room dominated by a large desk and also chaos. There's paperwork everywhere, bags and scrolls and maps, and even a top hat in a corner of the desk. She swallows at the sight of so much knowledge, probably all classified, and sticks her eyes to the person behind the desk.
If she wants a place here, to see and learn and read, she needs to start by respecting boundaries.
The guy is blond, with heavy facial scarring, and he meets her eyes directly. "Sit," he says, but doesn't gesture. There's only one other chair, though, so she sets herself into it in as graceful a gesture as she can manage.
She has a whole second to wonder if she should introduce herself when he starts with, "Your crew–"
She waits, folding her hands in her lap. He stops, though, then sets down the pen he was using and sits up straight, taking a deep breath. "Tell me about your crew. Your Captain."
Of course they would want information; Luffy is a threat to world order just by existing and she's seen what he's capable of first-hand. Naturally the Revolutionary Army would be interested, and she finds herself caught; she wants a place here, at least temporarily, but not at the cost of selling out her crew–never that.
She smiles, crosses one leg over the other, and asks, "And what will you do with the information if I agree?"
He blinks at her, takes a whole second, and then makes a horrible noise. It looks like laughter, shaking his shoulders, but it sounds like grief. "Oh," he says, "Right, no, I–wait. Thank you."
"Thank you," he repeats, flattening his hands on the desktop and leaning in. "I just–I'm sorry, let me start again." He stands, pushing his chair back thoughtlessly, grabs the hat on the corner of his desk, and says, "Nico Robin, Devil Child, survivor of Ohara, Strawhat–" His emphasis made it clear that the last of those titles is the one he considers most important, and he sweeps into a bow that's too deep, too formal for a high-ranking officer to a visitor, taking her entirely aback until he says, voice thick, "thank you for taking care of my little brother."
Oh–oh. She blinks, blinks, breathes, and says, "I didn't know."
Even as she says it, she follows the logic on it–of course she didn't know. They didn't even know about Ace until he showed up, so clearly Luffy isn't a reliable source, and family isn't something a high-ranking revolutionary tends to advertise. His smile says he knows, and she offers her own in return.
He's sincere, she judges, or faking well enough to fool her. She takes a breath, takes a chance, and makes the choice to believe. "He's happy," she says, and his face shows she made the right choice.
She smiles, achingly, and she shares a story of the last island they visited, a light, fun story with no strategic value whatsoever, and he drinks it up with a focus and a tight desperation, and he thanks her for it again.
"Don't," Robin says, still smiling, and reaches out to him, because this, this she knows; this she has learned from Luffy. "There is no gratitude owed between family."

ok but now that I think of it Stuffing in a Don't Starve context would probably be seen as like divine intervention. those guys are STARVING and now they have some excess fat reserves for the winter
This ask unexpectedly made me think so this got pretty long, I'm sorry :') Enjoy my collection of thoughts.
First of all, I draw a line between stuffing and weight gain – although these two often go hand in hand, they are pretty distinct kinks. Stuffing doesn't always lead to wg, weight gain doesn't necessarily require stuffing, etc. (Also I'm not actually into stuffing, weirdly). So I usually think about them separately.
An opportunity for stuffing could absolutely be seen as a blessing BUT I find it more interesting to look at it as a necessity. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about it is that you'd need a large amount of food available, which is probably rare. For that reason I can't really imagine a character stuffing themselves just to enjoy the feeling. It also fills you up for a significant amount of time but effectively leaves you out of commission – you can't run or fight with an overfilled stomach, you'd much rather lie down and not move. It probably isn't something you'd want to do just because, if you had to stay alert. So with that in mind I can imagine a couple of scenarios here.
1. A character has been starving for a long time and somehow finds food! A lot of it! I doubt they could control themselves. Bringing up my brief obsession with the Minnesota semi-starvation experiment, you almost can't get full after being so limited in your food intake. So it's very possible to just keep eating to the point of getting sick – and, going back to DS, that would mean wasting precious resources. But I doubt they could care (consider also the insanity effects).
2. Same thing minus being severely starved. A character finds a lot of food so to make the most of it they gather as much as they can carry and, if there's anything left, eat as much as they can fit in their stomach. They cannot afford to be wasteful. (To add to it, maybe the food is about to spoil? It all comes down to getting as much as possible from what's available).
3. Of course there is also the option where the survival goes exceptionally well and a character can stuff themselves just for the sake of it. But hey. Firstly, this is boring (to me.) and secondly, I SUCK at the game so my takeaway is that the characters must not be fit enough for survival to get to this point. (I refuse to get good.)
Weight gain is a much more long-term thing. I'm not sure how to interpret in-game time but let's believe the numbers and say it's 20 to 55 days between winters. How much weight can one realistically put on during this time? Not a lot, probably (unless we're involving some kind of magic). So for any substantial weight gain to occur a character needs to be well-adjusted in the Constant and have reliable, and excessive, food sources all year round. Another thing to point out is that extra weight obviously helps during winter but also slows you down and probably makes you more appealing for predators. So there's a compromise to be made here if a character is trying to gain on purpose.
For me, wg scenarios are reserved more to semi-canon nano-AUs, like my little evil threeway one. When you're safe(..?), don't have to chop trees/run around/hunt all day and have more than enough food, it makes sense to get fat. But out in the wild, I'm not so sure.
P. S. l'm not taking into account DST with multiple players because... I guess I'm more interested in the survival aspects of the survival game than in character dynamics. At least for now.

What's your opinion on the shinichiro theory still? Honestly, I still believe it. People are saying that hemorrhagia has " left " because her theory got " disproven" but actually, her account has been like this for atleast a week before shinichiro being a time leaper was even exposed. I've spent so long trying to explain it to someone even today lmao
Hello!
First off, I had no idea there were such things circulating about hemorrhagia supposedly “leaving”. As you said, she hasn't been active since before the “Shin is a time leaper” chapter. And from what I know it is a completely unrelated thing. Don’t people realize others have lives outside of tumblr? Lmao
Although, damn, i wish she was back, i just know the hot takes would be immaculate
As for the theory itself, I don't know really. It seems less and less likely to me. More information got revealed that are kind of conflicting and the theory itself seems like a bit of a stretch now
That’s the short answer for you. But I have much more to say under the cut. Sorry anon, you have opened Pandora's box.
TW: THAT shin theory (i don’t talk about anything explicit), TR spoilers
I feel like there are a couple of things the theory was right about though. Maybe not the main points that were made, but there were several takes that showed the (not so) obvious.
that shin is going to be important some way or another
And, guess what, he totally is. Up until recently he was nothing. He meant nothing and was already dead when the story started. And yet, he was there, always lingering in the background, which was a clue that he had a much bigger role in all this mess than we had originally thought. And, safe to say, I don't think I would pick on that myself so kudos to the author.
that shin is not as good as he is painted
Maybe he is not necessarily a bad guy… but either way he didn’t have much issue with killing a random homeless person. Which is pretty fucked up if you ask me, no matter his reasoning. He didn’t even care to listen to the guy, he just bashed his skull open. It would be easy to give in to all the narration surrounding Shin and portraying him as the kindest human to ever exist. And yet, we found out that he killed a man. Sure, he was losing his mind at this point, he was in so much despair. But grieving people don’t go around killing anyone usually. So again, kudos to the author for questioning the narration and pointing out that we know nothing about that guy aside from all the praises other people were saying about him. And those may not be a reliable source of information.
that there is something icky about the way shinichiro is described vs how he really is
Again, maybe it has nothing to do with the themes that were originally stated in the theory, but hey. We clearly saw the same man that was described as being “a weak king” (if i remember correctly), that always lost and that couldn’t fight… bend a fucking metal post and crack a concrete wall. Not to mention beating the hell out of all these people in the bar. So… what was that all about. Why is he thought to be some kind of a weakling whereas he clearly knew how to fight? The story tells us one thing to then show us another. And kudos for the author again, for telling us way ahead that we shouldn’t take everything that is being said at face value. And to be honest maybe this also applies to Wakasa telling us Shinichiro’s story. Maybe. Who knows at this point.
The theory was  thus brilliant at making us question things shown in the manga. And damn it was fun ever since.
And there are still gaps in canon material that the theory was filling so goddamn well. For example:
Shin and Izana relationship still seems wacky as fuck.
Their relationship is fucked up and there is something clearly missing here. Why wouldn’t he tell anyone about Izana - why would it be such a secret, why wouldn’t Shin make it possible for him to meet at least Emma, the girl he grew up with? Furthermore, Izana’s reaction to finding out Shinichiro isn’t blood related to him seems a bit over the top - because why should it matter if Shin was there for him regardless of that, he says that himself even, yet Izana is still unreasonably mad. Just like hemorrhagia stated in the theory:
“I’m sure it might feel crushing to find out you aren’t actually related to your sibling, but Izana already considered Kakucho like a brother to him.  So, why is Shinichiro different?  Why is Izana so upset?  He asks why Shinichiro even came to him.
Shinichiro taught him everything, about bikes, about fashion, how to style his hair,  how to fight, how to smile.
Why is all of that null and void now?  Is it because his ‘love’ is something bad that Izana could tell himself was okay, because Shinichiro gave him a family (a family of only Shinichiro), but can’t reconcile it if they aren’t even related?  Is it because that ‘love’ wasn’t coming from a brother, but just some random guy?”
Why did Izana and Mikey develop a bond so strong to the point that in the Bonten timeline Mikey is literally imitating Izana?
“He basically becomes a clone of Izana in the Bonten timeline, despite their only interactions being Izana going out of his way to completely destroy him. He had Emma murdered.”
The explanation provided by the theory’s framework fit perfectly here. It would be understandable if they bonded so much because they went through similarly traumatic shit. But if we take that out of the equation, we are left with another missing piece.
Why would Mikey develop such a strong bond with Izana over the brief interaction they had during the tenjiku fight? Sure, he thought of Izana as his brother. Yeah, he didn’t care about them not being blood related. Yeah, at this point he had lost all his siblings and was desperate to have a brother, a family of any sort.
But they don’t have any memories together. They didn’t grow close together through years like Mikey did with Emma or any of his friends. And Izana was responsible for murdering Mikey’s sister. Who he cared about. Who he wanted to protect. Izana was responsible for her death. Yet for Mikey this brief encounter they had was enough to forgive him for that. To find understanding and empathy for him. And to decide that he is - in a way - going to carry Izana’s legacy from this point on.
He only emulates people dear to him. Emma, Baji, Draken. And Izana for some reason. It just doesn’t really make sense to me the way it is portrayed as of now. I feel like there is something missing about the bond between Mikey and Izana. I wish it would be addressed in the manga eventually and we wouldn’t be left with just that. The theory explained it well in my opinion. It made Mikey’s actions more understandable for me.
“By the time the conflict with Tenjiku happens, Mikey has already seen the letters Izana wrote, and Izana always knew about Mikey. I think Mikey reaches out to Izana as a brother, not just because Emma has just died and he doesn’t want to lose more family, despite the fact that Izana had her killed, but because of their shared trauma from Shinichiro.
In another life, Taiju says that Mikey trusted Izana more than anyone, more than Draken. The question is posed, ‘Why would Mikey trust Izana so much, what happened?’ I think they shared the same secret.”
Maybe, possibly, most likely the theory is horseshit. But still there has to be something more to this bond Mikey and Izana shared. I hope there is. Because the way their relationship is portrayed as of now is not convincing enough for me. Its superficial.
We still have no idea what made Mikey hurt Haruchiyo in such horrible way
We have seen this scene from like three angles by now (at this point i just wait for Baji to be resurrected just to tell the same story once again and then die) AND WE STILL DON’T KNOW SHIT
Just that Mikey didn’t know why he did that and that he suddenly found himself already having hurt Haru. But then what provoked him? The fact that Senju told him that it was Sanzu who destroyed his toy plane? Really? I think that if there is one thing the whole fandom can agree upon (other than the Haitanis being hot) it is that it couldn’t be just about the plane. And even if it was Dark Impulsivity, whatever that may be (because we still don’t know anything about that…) it doesn’t explain shit, because even when DI is involved, there always (i think) is a reason for Mikey to act out.
It was shown to us that Mikey doesn’t care about his possessions. He busted his own scooter because he cared more about Baji (and we coincidentally are reminded of this situation in the recent chapters 272 and 273, right after we saw the plane incident yet again). I mean he could have grown up to be like that, it could be the lesson he learned from the situation with Sanzu. But still, it’s so unlikely that it would all be just about the toy fucking plane… There must be something missing here for fuck’s sake.
Why on earth shinichiro knows Inui and why does he hang out with a kid 10 or so years younger than him?
We still didn’t get an answer to that! Should I just take it as it is and convince myself it’s normal? My sister is 10 years younger than me. I can’t fathom the idea of hanging out with her friends, let alone a random child her age. But I mean maybe, maybe if I squint real hard… Inui was going through some tough shit back then. Maybe he found comfort around Shin and the first gen BD’s. Maybe Shin was taking care of him when nobody else would. But fuck, its still icky and I don’t like it at all. Found family is an awesome thing but not when one person is 12 or something, an impressionable little kid with little to no support system (apparently), and the other is an adult. There is so much room for abuse of power here and I don’t like it.
“It’s not weird to have an older mentor, but there has to be something connecting you to that person, like a sibling, or a social program, or a family connection, but there’s just nothing connecting them, and that’s weird.“
And why would Shin (supposedly) call for Mikey to get to the shop at 3 am? Still it doesn't make sense no matter how you put it lmao
Mikey changing clothes suddenly doesn't make sense as well as other weird things that are happening to his memory. Him not remembering Izana or remembering things differently to other people or bikes disappearing from his memories. There is a big emphasis on memories in this manga and how different people may remember things differently. So I can’t imagine it all being mistakes when at the same time in the same manga we have Hakkai situation. If we analyze what is happening when hakkai tells Michi his version of the story, we can actually pick up that he is lying based on the background not making sense in relation to what he is saying.
(there was this post somewhere about that but i can't find it hhhhhhhhhhhhhh if anyone got it please feel free to send me the link)
So, concluding this unnecessary rambling
The theory itself might not be true. Maybe some of the points don’t hold up anymore, given the newest information we got. Maybe the main bit about Shin being the bad guy doing that specific thing is not that plausible anymore since we got to know more about him, but there still were very good observations made that still hold true and I think the author should have been given credit for that.
It also points out several questions we still didn’t get a coherent answer for. And… to be frank, I don’t think we ever will given that we supposedly have only five chapters left. And that makes me sad. But it also will leave room for further interpretation, when the manga inevitably concludes and I don’t think it’s such a bad thing after all (although damn i'm going to be so disappointed)
I just wish we would be answered in the canon material. But, well. We will see how it goes.
Concluding the conclusion: I don’t think it's plausible anymore, but I still think there is a value in that theory.
What are your thoughts on this, anon? Hope I didn’t bore you to death ♥

Hi, sorry for troubling you. Actually I need some advice. If you think I’m too much of a nuisance please ignore me. I don't know other country’s history (not that I know much about mine). A few weeks ago I came across a post that the writer had used some historical terms to justify a character’s behavior. It had nearly 100 likes and seemed legit and persuasive like she was very knowledgeable but it sounded off to me. Those were just eliminable comic relief scenes and the character was caricaturistic. A human with a healthy mental state, average IQ, and a little sense of social grace wouldn’t act like that. The writer’s tone was hostile, too and she turned an accuracy question into a moral one. She liked that character so much that didn't even try to hide her anger. Even though the asker was anon she implied that she/he is a sucker for pretty boys and a misogynist. How would she know? I was convinced that something was off and with no hope of getting an answer, I emailed a history website and ask them if she was right, the reply was really surprising. Not just the character and those scenes but many other things are imaginary and her interpretations of those terms and conclusions are false. They told me that even the literature from that era can’t be trusted or used as reliable sources because it’s the nature of fiction to be fanciful and misleading. I sent the email to her adding nothing, assuming she’d feel guilty for implanting false knowledge in fans, but she said she had no time for haters. I don’t know anybody on Tumblr or that fandom, and no one would believe an outsider. They are already satisfied with the lies. If one cares about the truth, one searches for it. Even so, is there anything I should do? Do I have any obligation to do anything? Thank you.
Hey Anon! You are not a nuisance at all :)) although, to be honest, it's hard to give advice when I'm not fully aware of the situation you're asking about.
From my understanding, you disagree with how a blogger justified a character's behavior in a work of fiction, which was done by quoting wrong historical facts, therefore providing false information to other fans, and you're wondering how to rectify it? I hope I understood properly?
To start with, I'm sorry to say that this happens very often in fandoms across the internet.
Browsing through the internet, you will always find people who do not share similar views about characters, theories, world building, romance, authors' inspirations, etc leading to a huge gap amongst fans, depending on who agrees on what.
The reason why that exists is because people aren't always neutral when reading, therefore their opinions and expectations can color the story they read in a certain way, leading to some misconception and bias.
This literally happened in every fandom I know, so the first thing I would advise is to keep in mind that, even with good arguments, you cannot always change the mind of everyone you disagree with, because everyone reads/watches a story through a personal lens.
In other words, pick your battles: what do you accept to disagree on and what do you think is unacceptable misconception? That's for you to decide and to act on, knowing that even with good and reasonable arguments, some people just won't take your side.
Speaking of which, as a second advice: you strongly disagree with the original poster and you really don't want to let it go? Well, act on it !
Friendly reminder that, from the moment you're acquainted with a series and you enjoy it, then you already belong in its fandom. Who cares if you just joined Tumblr or if you just discovered this series? You're as much a fan as anyone else and you have a right to your opinions, just like anyone else.
So, what to do? Open the debate by reblogging the post and explain to the original poster why you disagree with her, by detailing your arguments.
Nowadays, not a lot of people comment or reblog posts anymore to offer additional thoughts: they'd rather hide behind anon mode but anonymity doesn't always allow for an open debate, on the contrary!
Myself as a blogger who receives some anon asks, I can guarantee you that I'm always nicer and more open to discussion if someone comes to me off anon, especially if it's to disagree with something I said. Because I put a blog's name on an idea and it brings a lot more humanity in the discussion. :)
Additionally, some people also think that disagreeing means being disrespectful, but that's not the case at all. You can always peacefully and kindly explain to someone why you disagree with them.
So gear up and be brave ! You disagree and it's important to you to explain why? Well, state your opinion high and loud with your blog's name, like a proud of fan of whatever series or character this is about. And again, even if you don't change their mind, that's okay, at least you stated what you had to say and that's what matters.
Lastly though, a word of caution.
To quote you : "The writer’s tone was hostile, too and she turned an accuracy question into a moral one. She liked that character so much that didn't even try to hide her anger. Even though the asker was anon she implied that she/he is a sucker for pretty boys and a misogynist. How would she know?"
As I was saying above, I think unfortunately anonymity in asks is used way too often and bloggers are from time to time fed up with getting asks or opinions without a name to address directly.
Additionally, a lot of asks are sent without necessarily taking the time beforehand to check whether or not the blogger was open to discussion on different subjects in the first place. Hence the hostile tone in answers from time to time.
Take my blog as an example: after ten years on this site, there are certain subjects that I either won't ever want to discuss or some opinions on some characters that I'm beyond fed up with. So anyone barging into my askbox as an anon on either aspects will end up deleted or blocked or maybe answered with a rather hostile tone, because I already stated my opinion ten, twenty or thirty times.
Sure it's not very nice and it doesn't please me to answer this way if I even answer, but I believe, as far as I'm concerned, that it's stated very plainly and often, enough so that people would know if they bothered to check for a second before sending an ask.
So I understand that the hostile tone and the misogyny allegations that you're describing aren't pleasing, but be sure to check why the hostility exists in the first place: is it really that the original poster is narrow-minded and can't be reasoned with ? Or is it that they are often faced with anons who don't bother acknowledging what she said in the past before asking ? Because that will definitely factor into how open-minded the original poster will be if you go for a debate.
TL;DR You can always disagree and discuss why with anyone in any fandom. However, choose your fights and, mostly, choose your weapons well:
state your opinions with your blog's name, in a reblog or in a comment, and definitely not as an anon, if you want to be taken as seriously as possible
always check beforehand about the blogger you want to debate with, so that you can understand who you're talking to a little bit better
be respectful as you disagree and all will go well
I hope it helps? Sorry if not. Have a good day Anon! ^3^

ASOS; Steel and Snow: 09 BRAN I (pages 122-132)
Summer has some forest time, while Bran and Co. decide on what comes next for their small group.
-
Sometimes he could sense them, though, as if they were still with him, only hidden from his sight by a boulder or a stand of trees. He could not smell them, nor hear their howls by night, yet he felt their presence at his back... all but the sister they had lost. His tail dropped when he remembered her. Four now, not five. Four and one more, the white who has no voice. These woods belonged to them, the snowy slopes and stony hills, the great green pines and golden leaf oaks, the rushing streams and blue lakes fringed with fingers of white frost. But his sister had left the wilds, to walk the halls of man-rock where other hunters ruled, and once within those halls it was hard to find the path back out. The wolf prince remembered.
??? ... Oh!
oh.
He means the crypts*. They buried Lady in the crypts* where the interred are marked by statues of Starks and wolves.
*I've been reminded by a reliable source that she was buried in the Lichyard, which is outside the crypts, so Summer presumably just means Winterfell in general. The imagery of 'other hunters' and 'hard to find the path back out' just gave me strong Crypt vibes.
The north through Summer's POV sounds so pretty. And, it's interesting how Summer counts ghost, one of them but not one of them.
... Wolf Fight!
At Winterfell he wanted me to dream my wolf dreams, and now that I know how he's always calling me back.
Yeah, a fine case of "be careful what you wish for, Jojen." Although on the other hand, I do have to retract my previous statements that Bran seemed to be settling into his new reality and physical capabilities, this is avoidance, pure and simple.
"We have plowed this field before," his sister said.
Oh I like that. Subtle world building stuffs, alternate versions of basic phrases that make contextual sense.
"How, Jojen?" his sister asked. "How?" "Afoot," he answered. "A step at a time."
A good way to do things, a step at a time.
Unless it's a dire emergency, in which case it's best to apply the FEMA evacuation plan: Run Bitch, RUN!
"Hoooodor," said Hodor, swaying. "Hooooooodor, hoooooodor, hoDOR, hoDOR, hoDOR." Sometimes he liked to do this, just saying his name different ways, over and over and over. Other times, he would stay so quiet you forgot he was there.
"Mornin'! Nice day for fishing, ain't it? Huh-ha!"
Sorry, if that reference Is too niche. It's the only dialogue/speaking line for the NPC character Baelin from the Epic NPC Man series by youtubers Viva La Dirt League. The just over half hour movie Baelin's Route focuses on him having an adventure, and while they didn't give him any further dialogue options. The actor, Rowan, did an absolutely amazing job conveying what he wanted to say with just that line, augmented by tonal shifts, emphasis, and subtle body language. This scene just yeeted my brain XD In my defense, is it such a good movie.
"- How can I help you master a gift I do not understand? We remember the First men in the Neck, and the children of the forest who were their friends... but so much is forgotten, and so much we never knew."
It's a nice change, for Jojen to be like this, with so many other characters (not necessarily our POVs either, some of the 'NPCs') they don't admit that they don't know things, they bluster and fib and cover up, but Jojen's just "I don't got this, but I know who will."
It's also kind of sad "we've forgotten so much, and we didn't know all that much to begin with."
... MVP Meera! She gave Bran the assurance they'd follow him, support him, so he actually sat there and thought about their options, puzzled out the logistics of it.
And he did well to realise that his allies might all be dead (or compromised), though... should he know the bastard of Bolton is alive? And after him? I thought he only knew him as Reek?*
*Maester Luwin told him with one of his dying breaths. Like A Boss.
Kinda sad that Bran's decision was "I'm not getting any less cripple no matter what I do, might as well do the crow thing," but at least the choice is made and they can move towards a goal. that's important, having something to work on or towards, rather than wallowing in place.

I find it kinda scary how quickly misinformation (or speculations presented as facts) get spread around. Like yesterday I saw someone say JK had a back tattoo and the proof was a clip of JK putting a shirt on in the SWZ dvd, and soo many people just took it and ran with it without checking or anything (e.g. We saw his naked back in LA w/o a tattoo + in the clip it was just his shoulder). It's even worse with a certain subgroup, I clicked on a trend once and saw one of the bigger posts was a clip from 2014 or something and they completely changed the translation to indicate jealousy even saying "awww baby's jealous" or something. And when called out for spreading misinfo they just said "they all know it's fake" as if the people liking and commenting etc weren't all screaming about how "cute baby X was being all jealous". And i'm sure these people who saw this will never realise that the translation was incorrect. It just scares me sometimes and I see it in all parts of the fandom like even a big OT7 account thinking that JK genuinely said "My relationship with TH is not for the cameras" simply cause "they saw it on the tl". So many people see things, and run with it and accept it as fact before any kind of checking and its frustrating.
Yes, I think for sure that's one of the big problems in this fandom. I think everyone who has come into the fandom at any time has come across a thousand and one theories that are presented as truth and if the person doesn't take the time to look for more information that support that theory, they will believe it. One of them is for example the meaning of Jungkook's tattoos. According to this theory the word ARMY plus the J tattooed on his hand also represents the initials of the members, this is a theory created and spread by the fandom but after a short time, it became THE truth about JK's tattoos. Jungkook has never said if those tattoos have any other meaning than what they literally read. But the fandom doesn't care, they said it also means the names of the boys and that's it. And many argue that this is the truth. That's why I ended up banning that discussion on my blog, sorry for bringing it up. But the same thing happens with a lot of little theories and big theories at the same time. And my goodness, in the ship community there are too many of them. I am a lawyer so I have always likened this to what is known in law as customary law. Which is basically an established pattern of behaviour of a society or social group that over time became accepted and practised by that society or social group. In this fandom, there are many theories that became customary law. That's why it's important to watch original content, to avoid the infamous analysis videos as much as possible. That's why it's important to research, to find yourself the real and reliable source of anything regarding the group but many don't do that for different reasons one of them is that what they hear fits the narrative they have created or decided to believe, like the examples you give. It's sad and scary at the same time that it happens. Many people behind a small or large account don't know the power they have and others do and don't use it for good things. I think we have seen that more than once. I have seen it more than once in the little over a year that I have been here.

(very long but very important post, sorry in advance) hi uh. i know a lot of my recent posts have been more political than usual but um cope bcus its not gonna stop!
it's more important than ever to deprogram ourselves and confront internal biases based on culturally christian & capitalistic society. duh. i see a lot of people saying this but not many giving examples or advice on how to actually go about doing so, other than just "do the research urself." so i'm trying to share some resources to maybe help people get started. if you take the time to check these out and find them helpful, i urge you to share them with your friends and family as well.
second thought and genetically modified skeptic on youtube have some fucking amazing videos deconstructing christian and capitalistic ideas that most ppl probably don't even realize are ingrained so heavily into our society and are reinforced in almost every single piece of media, like, ever. both of them cite reliable sources and include links to all of them in their video descriptions. they explain things thoroughly and make it easy to understand (also they both put really good captions on all of their videos, but do sometimes reference images on screen without explicitly describing them or providing alt text, though these usually aren't essential to the point of the video). and remember to be critical of ALL media, including the channels i've linked and other anti capitalist or anti (cultural) christianity media. the channels i've linked are both run by cishet white abled men, and they're bound to make mistakes.
so anyways, i think a lot of ppl see criticism about cultural christianity/capitalism and assume it doesn't apply to them. myself included. i am an indigenous + asian queer disabled neurodivergent person and i consider myself an anarchopunk communist. i've done hours upon hours of research about this stuff. this does not mean i am immune to propaganda and internal bias, as much as i liked to think i was for a very long time. people always ask how they can help, how they can contribute, how they can possibly make any sort of an effect when they're just one person, who probably can't afford to donate large amounts of money to the people who Can take things into their own hands. the most important thing you can do is educate yourself. which, by the way, costs nothing but your time, and is often really interesting and enlightening. this doesn't mean you have to read depressing stories about people who are less fortunate (though i encourage you to do that as well). i understand news fatigue, hopelessness, and the want to distance yourself from social media as a means of self care. educating yourself doesn't have to be draining and emotionally demanding.
this has kinda turned into an essay but i wanna end it by saying the thing that prompted this was something as simple as that post saying "when are we going to overthrow the government," with a reply saying "y'all couldn't even boycott chick-fil-a." regardless of whether or not you still eat chick-fil-a, there are countless other companies that are much worse that we don't even bat an eye at. i haven't eaten chick-fil-a since i first found out about their homophobic shit, and i thought that gave me some moral high ground to stand on, despite the fact that i still ordered clothes from companies like fucking shein. i know not everyone can afford to stop buying from unethical but more affordable and accessible companies, i can't either. but everyone can at least be aware of the affect these things have, and spread awareness about it. i can do better, and so can you.
