Starscream isn't that bad

Hello, so I read some things about how much TFP Starscream is a character who really need more recognition for who he is... And I totally agree with this ! He's a victim of abuse, and nobody help him to get out of this freaking mess !

He's a jerk, yes, but that don't mean that he deserve all the things he gets.

In a story that I'm writing, I let Starscream say all he have in the Spark, and it's very delightful. I was wishing so much that he tell the sad reality to everyone in the series, and it's why I write this story !

A little summary of my story is that Starscream totally give up after the destruction of the Omega Lock and quit the Decepticons, until CYLAS come back, and try to get him.

Here an extract, not already on wattpad but it will be soon, named "We are the same" :

The leader of the Autobots pulled the jet towards him, and the latter gave a gasp of surprise, while Optimus took him by the shoulders: "I'm not asking you to join our side, I'm just asking you to come under our protection! MECH is dangerous!"

"I know that!" replied the flyer.

"… You can't stay on Megatron's side when he treats you like this!"

"Oh ?! Because I'd be safer in your dirty camp of hypocritical fraggers?!"

Starscream is right when he telling that, the Autobots never treat him better than the Decepticons did. And it's a point that is easy to forget and yet so obvious...

And after, there the scene with Arcee. Starscream criticizes her for her wish of revenge. I don't blame Arcee to be sad of the death of Cliffjumper, I understand her anger, but hey girl, it's war!

I would be more understanding if Arcee was angry about the fact that the Decepticons transform Cliff into a Terrorcon, but no, she's angry about the fact that he's dead... And I know that it's because she already lost a partner, but that not allowed her to forget that Decepticons lost people to...

Here the extract:

"Grrr! I am right to take revenge on you! You killed Cliffjumper!!" Yelled Arcee.

"Oh ?! Because you've never killed robots yourself?! Unless you don't count Vehicons as robots?! Or the Decepticons who died at your hands in battle! Or else the Vossians whom you massacred with your bombs!!"

"…!"

"But nooo! Of course not ! Why would you feel guilty about such a thing?! The Decepticons have no emotions after all! Right ?! They are only slaves! Animals ! Garbage !! Right ?!"

"…"

After, we have to talk about the dead of Makeshift and Skyquake, not to mention Hardshell that been killed for revenge by Wheeljack and Miko (what a good exemple for a kid...). All this deaths was very violent! Worst that the death of Cliff if I can say...

"After all, Makeshift was nothing but a former slave! Not to mention Skyquake! Ha! So what ?! I'm a freak because I stab an enemy, but not you as you blast them or rip their insides out?!" The Seeker looked back at Wheeljack and then Bumblebee respectively, with the optics flashing in anger.

And after that, there Optimus... I really prefere the Optimus of the season 1, who prefer to talk than fight. The one of the season 2 is a bit more aggressive, in particulary in the episode "Triangulation".

He's treating Starscream like scrap, even if he save Arcee with no consideration. Also, in this moment Starscream have no T-cog, no weapons, he's low in energon and frozen, but that don't stop Optimus to manhandle him...

Also, I don't know how is it in the english version of the series, but in the french version when Starscream get the Apex Armor, Optimus say that they should let relics like this far from creatures like Starscream !

Ouch ! That hurt deep! The frag Optimus ?! Did you really removed Starscream's robot status ?! Did you call Starscream a "creature" ?! He's still a Transformer like you, you know ! I don't know why this sentence shock me that hard, but I really feel that was not something to say to someone that have already a so low estime of himself... That not right...

"You think you're better than us maybe?! Bulkhead got angry.

"No ! replied the jet. But at least I admit that I am a jerk ! Which is not your case!! You hide with your fake airs of good robots, while you are just as guilty as the Decepticons! Oh yes ! We the ugly slaves who sought to free ourselves from you, we deserve death!!"

"…!"

"You are even more despicable than us, because you act as if you were the heroes of this story! With your shaky and haphazard morality! Especially you, Optimus Prime!!"

The jet angrily pointed at the leader of the Autobots, and continued, despite the surprised looks of everyone. "You criticize me for never doing anything without benefits, but if I remember correctly, when I needed medical help when I was neutral, your 'irreproachable' doctor was ready to let me drain my energy if I didn't give him the information he wanted!!

"Starscream…" Tried to intervene Optimus.

"As well ! Cut the flyer. When I saved the life of that ungrateful Arcee, I didn't ask for anything in return, and as a result, well, nothing good happened! Good deeds without exchange is scrap, it does not exist!"

"…"

"Not to mention that when we were in Antarctica, Prime, I don't remember that you treated me better than Megatron! So, before criticizing his way of doing things, review yours already!!"

Here it's what the Autobots show to Starscream with there comportement with him... "No matter what you do, even if it's good, you don't deserve a thank you"... Uh... Well OK then, I will continue to be a jerk in that case.

Starscream can't learn an other way alone, he need help, but if nobody show him a better way he will continue to do the same toxics things... A victim can become a tormentor for hold on...

They follows a jumping motion with their head, and Ghost unwittingly follows. 

Y/N: did you see?

They follows the invisible jump. 

Y/N: did you see him now? 

Ghost inhales slowly, Soap watch from afar, waiting for the result and slowly sipping his drink.

Ghost: No.

Y/N: ok then! hold his coat!

Proceeds to pretends to take the coat off the invisible frog in their hand. 

Ghost: what the fuck, since when frogs wear coats? 

Y/N: just for safety! 

The big man in the mask just holds the invisible small coat and watches the frog fake jump with Y/N again.

Silence.

Y/N: Now you believe there's a frog in here? 

Ghost looks at them confused. 

Ghost: No? 

Y/N: Of course you do, you're holding his lil coat. 

Ghost looks between his hand, still holding the frog's little coat, he looks at Y/N hands then back at his hands.

Ghost: Fucking hell.

Soap died in the background.
