I think - I think - I just cracked the last big issue in my stats data analysis for my presentation. If I'm right, my remaining workload just went way down and I will be able to get around to actual presentation prep very soon.

For those who speak Stats, I'm at the stage of cross-checking the validity of my two extracted Principal Components by way of multiple linear regression against other related variables. Why? Because we're not allowed to use the much faster Cronbach's Alpha tool. We're supposed to show we understand how our models work, not just report output numbers. That's easy enough, but my dataset stinks for this particular type of analysis (My beloved prof called it "hilariously awful"), and I have had to create some pretty wild dummy variables to test against.

If this sounds like gibberish, you're not wrong.

Have planned an Indian dinner and mindless movie night with friend, after presentation.

Different term paper, but I am doing this one for Judith. Then I am also going to do the other one for Judith. I am also doing them for myself and a grade, but the priorites are: 1. Make Judith proud, 2. Say something clever bc I am and I know clever things and 3. Get this thing fucking graded so that I can move on with my life.

So the problem with posting this here is the fact that I'm using this blog for writing samples in this ad. So I'm being meta.

Freelance writer who has been writing academic papers, personal statements and taking online classes since 2008. I have a masters in English and have written papers for everything from economics to film theory to psychology. Most recently I've taken nursing classes for clients who need the degree to advance in their careers.

I have done jobs as small as one page papers and as large as doctoral thesis editing (when the doctoral candidate is so burnt out they don't even want to hear about their thesis subject)

Probably an unpopular opinion but I hate writing term papers fo academia, but of all things necessary manually writing the works cited/bibliography bothers me the least.

It's just following a formula and mindlessly typing and honestly quite lovely when the brain is 🌟foggy🌟 to remain somewhat productive.

T-minus 23 hours to Big Damn Theory Paper deadline, and I am...just maybe getting there?

There is always more work to do on these things. I’m on the right track, but oh, how much a week more would have helped! In Grad School, an A- is basically a poke that you haven’t mastered the material and need to pull your socks up, and I rather think this will turn out as an A- in the time I have left. It’s correct and well backed up, but it’s a little thin.

But there’s still time. Just. Maybe.

Y'all need to be fucking nicer to men/masc queers

I was talking to an old friend/short lived boyfriend from highschool and the topic of sexualities came up. He identified as bisexual throughout highschool but told me that recently he doesn't know what he was and just preferred to remain 'unlabeled' until he figured it out. I told him to his face "thats valid man and being unlabeled doesn't make you any less queer than when you were labeled"

God you should've seen his fucking face, he looked so happy and also like he was about to goddamn cry. He told me that no one ever told him that. That he tried to join queer spaces but they said he didn't fit in cause he wasn't 'gay' enough. Told me that I was the first person to ever confidently tell him he was queer and that he didn't need to change himself to 'fit in'.

I gave my friend one of my mini pride flags I had lying around and the dopey grin he had on his face while waving that thing around for the rest of the night made me smile too. When he finally went home he thanked me for the flag and for reassuring him when he felt insecure for 'not being gay enough'.

I want y'all to know that whole time he telling me about people not accepting him for "not looking queer" made me fucking pissed. Oh, because he's not petite, feminine, and white he can't be queer? Because he doesn't look like a fashionable and conventionally pretty gay on you'd find on your TikTok homepage he can't be queer?

THIS ISN'T EVEN THE FIRST TIME I'VE HAD THIS CONVERSATION WITH A FRIEND BEFORE

In highschool I had ANOTHER friend who had this same problem but in a different font. He liked cute things, he liked flowing fabrics and skirts, he even liked being called princess! But because he was fat and not conventionally attractive he felt like he couldn't be queer. Because from what he saw, queer people don't look like him.

If you're one of those people who would gatekeep ANYONE who doesn't fit into your Pinterest board ideal version of queer from the LGBTQ+ community, you can fuck right off because anyone who would just shut of someone out of our community for something so petty and dumb and ignorant doesn't deserve the keys to the fucking door in the first place.

Start treating people who don't fit into your saturated and commercialized view of queer with more respect and kindness before I start biting off your fucking arms
