#that’s why they have 3 billion children

It's so fucking scary yall. Sending police to brutalize college students protesting, literally have snipers pointing guns at them. Ignoring the mass graves of Palestinians. Over 30 thousand dead. US vetoing a cease fire 3 times and veto the UN vote to make Palestine a state. Ban TikTok because it dares humanize us. Because it's literally one of the only hubs of information that isn't getting activley surpressed. Refuse to awnser when asked "does the Geneva Convention apply to Palestinian children". Over 70 billion to Israel sent in less than a year to continue slaughtering civilians. We can't even beg for our own freedom without being shouted down for being "antisemetic".
Why?
Why is it so fucking important to the chucklefucks in power to destroy us in the worst ways possible.
Why are we so subhuman to so many people? Why is our humanity so arbitrarily conditional?

I see a lot of incomprehension online about our pension reform and the anger it generates in France, and what it often boils down to is "why are they so angry, 64 is plenty young to retire?"
I don't agree, but even if I did I would still oppose the reform. Here are some of the reasons why:
We already need 43 full years of work and tax contributions to be able to retire. Which means college-educated people were never going to retire at 64 anyway, let alone 62. This reform is aimed at people who start working early, mostly in low-paying jobs.
There's very little provision made in this law for hard/dangerous/manual labour.
There's no provision made for women who stop working to raise their children (51% of women already retire without a "complete career," which means they only retire on a partial pension, vs. 25% of men).
At 64, 1/3 of the poorest workers will already be dead. In France, between the richest and the poorest men, there's a 13 years gap in life expectancy.
Beyond life expectancy, at that age a lot of people (especially poorer, non-college educated) have too many health-related issues to be able to work. Not only is it cruel to ask them to work longer, if they can't work at all that's two more years to hold on with no pension
Unemployment in France is still fairly high (7%). Young people already have a hard time finding work, and this is going to make things even harder for them
Macron cut taxes on the rich and lost the country around 16 Billions € in tax revenue. Our estimated pension deficit should peak at 12 Billions worst case scenario.
While I'm on wealth redistribution (no, not soviet style, but I think there should be a cap on wealth concentration. Nobody needs to be a billionaire.): some of the massive profits of last year should go to workers and to the state to be redistributed, including to fund pensions. The state subsidized companies and corporations during the pandemic, Macron even said "no matter the cost" and spent 206 Billions € on businesses. Now he's going after the poorest workers in the country for an hypothetical 12 Billions??
Implicit in all of this is the question of systemic racism. French workers from immigrant families are already more likely to have started their careers early, to have low-paying jobs, are less likely to be college-educated, more at risk for disabilities and chronic illnesses, etc., so this is going to disproportionately affect them
This is not even touching on the fact that he didn't let lawmakers vote on it, meaning he knew he wouldn't get a majority of votes in parliament, or that 70% of the population is against this law. Pushing it through anyway is blatant authoritarianism.
TL;DR: This is only tangentially about retirement age. The reform will make life harder for people with low incomes, or with no higher education, for manual workers, for women—mothers especially, for POC, for people with disabilities or chronic conditions, etc. This is about solidarity.
Hope (sincerely) this helps.

why do you support china
TL;DR,
Tumblr media
As the daughter of a family of peasants on both sides, I would simply not exist if it was not for Mao Zedong and the communist party. My grandfather on my mom's side was the only person in his village to attend high school. My maternal grandparents became PLA medics then full on doctors. My grandfather on my dad's side was illiterate until the 50s, after which time, he became a local librarian. Every single senior citizen in the PRC has stories of the horror, war, death, starvation, poverty that Chinese people suffered for centuries, amplified by the century of humiliation. There's not a single farmer left in my family. They are artists. Teachers. Engineers. Physicists. Musicians. Doctors. Programmers. The oldest pictures in my family's collection are a set of prints from the 60's, after cameras came to the peasantry. In my very own lifetime, I saw Pudong, on the east bank of the Huangpu river which splits Shanghai in two, go from just the Oriental Pearl and a collection of buildings to the skyscraper metropolis it is today. When I was born, there was not a single kilometer of true HSR. In 22 years, they have built 45,000 kilometers of HSR, a number which is still growing. In 2021, the PRC completed the historical task of eliminating extreme poverty in the entire country. There are millions of families like mine living in the PRC, from Urumqi to Harbin.
In 1991, the Soviet Union was illegally and forcefully dismantled, a process which culminated in the constitutional crisis of 1993. Similar processes of primitive accumulation occurred in former Eastern Block countries, from East Germany to Bulgaria. State assets were stolen for cents on the dollar. Quality of life, especially average lifespan, dropped significantly and so dramatically that it took former Soviet countries 3 decades or more just to recover to pre-dissolution numbers; some still haven't. Pensioners lost their pensions and were forced to sell scrap and empty bottles just to survive. Those who had state jobs were laid off. Social welfare programs were cut back or eliminated entirely. Children were forced into prostitution or trafficked. Now the constituent republics which made up the USSR engage in petty regional wars to the detriment of all of their citizens. The Soviet Union was a country just shy of 300 million people. Over 1.4 BILLION people live in the PRC right now. Economic shock therapy of which the former USSR went through would be an unmitigated humanitarian disaster on a scale perhaps never seen on the planet.
The Communist Party of China has brought about unimaginable good to Chinese people. It took a backwaters, "sick man of Asia" and turned it into the 2nd strongest nation currently on the planet all within a single lifespan. The PRC is the most successful socialist project still around and should be a magnificent source of lessons to learn from, both the good and the bad. However, this is not to say the the PRC should be emulated or copied. Rather, communists should analyze their own material conditions and class make up and apply the lessons of the PRC as they see fit for their own countries.

𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐁𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐄 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐄.
It started off a bit rocky, to be fair. But then Viserys’ made a plea for peace, begged for the family to heal, and the tension melted like a slab of butter in a warm hand. Everything finally seemed to be falling into place.
Forgiveness was offered. The family was together. Your betrothed was complacent, despite being in the presence of his nephews. Alicent hid her laugh behind a hand, Rhaenyra’s pretty lips were curled into a smile that matched Daemon’s, Jace and Helaena were dancing — it was all perfect.
You’re not even sure where it went wrong. It just did.
You are laying in bed now, hours after the eventful gathering. The insomnia you're experiencing is a classic case; Aemond's tribute plays over and over in your head. You aren’t even remembering the crucial details, like what he said or what you ought to have said.
Instead, all you can recall are the expressions on Luke and Jace's faces, the way the lighthearted mood deteriorated, and the clang of your knife on your plate after dropping it in shock.
You also remember storming out of the room.
Truthfully, you are embarrassed at your future husband’s behavior. His smirk had been so arrogant that you wanted to meet it with a fist, and you probably would have if you could get away with it.
You have been betrothed to Aemond for about a moon, and while you were aware of his distaste toward his nephews, you never thought he would disrupt his family as they attempt to repair the rift between them.
Over a fucking pig.
Maybe you should have expected it.
You met Aemond when you were both children, as your father had established a peace treaty with the Targaryens at the beginning of his reign. You saw the boy get taller, watched his jaw sharpen, and stared on as his charm turned into the stern temperament of a man. He learned to ignore the things that do not serve him.
You knew that Aemond became a person of duty, of justice; he would not let things go that easily. He held a grudge with the incident. Losing his eye.
Taking that into consideration, this should not have been that big of a surprise.
And Gods, do you still want to marry him. When your father informed you about the betrothal, you were overjoyed, fit to burst, chest suddenly stuffed with the warmth of the sun and a billion ‘what ifs.’
Aemond has fascinated you throughout the years; he has always seemed so at ease and still. Unhurried and righteous. He can remain at the fireplace for a considerable amount of time, leaving you to constantly wonder what he might be thinking and how he is able to survive in such solitude.
You love him. Always have, though you are too scared to tell him. Part of you wonders if he shares the same affections.
But there’s no chance of that, is there? Aemond does not allow himself to experience attraction or establish attachments. There is no changing that. He must have agreed to the proposal because it was the right political choice; there is no other reason why he would have accepted.
Aemond loving you back? It’s impossible.
You roll over onto your side and stare at the window that sits across the room, trying to focus on the moonlight drifting through. It takes about thirty seconds of dead silence for you to realize that you might just go insane. You’re literally about to grab an extra pillow and shove it over your face — with the plan of suffocating yourself to sleep — when you hear a knock on your chamber door.
The noise almost makes you jump. For a moment, you consider not answering it, but curiosity refuses to bid you farewell. You crawl out of the sheets and reach for a match on your dresser, flicking it against the wood to conjure a flame. You ignite the oil lamp that sits on your nightstand, the light basking the room in a warm, orange glow.
You are just making your way over to the door when the knock comes again. Straightening out your nightgown and taking a deep breath, you open it.
Despite the darkness of the stone hallway, you recognize Aemond immediately.
No, it‘s not just his chiseled face that gives him away, or the long silver hair that drapes over his shoulders. It isn’t the black leather tunic he wears, hugging his lean chest. It is the way he stands: the confident way he waits for you, chin high, strong and assertive.
He’s too perfect, despite being one of the most imperfect people you know.
“Princess,” Aemond greets. His eye briefly looks you up and down before focusing on your face again. “Green suits you.”
Your gaze flicks down to your nightgown — made from a beautiful silk and a deep emerald, decorated in golden floral designs. It was a gift from the Queen; even though you and Aemond had not married yet, she happily proposed that you start to wear the family’s house colors. You accepted, of course.
Aemond’s compliment is so genuine that you don't know how to respond. You feel a sense of pride at his admiration. “I do not wear the color much,” you shrug, trying to sound unbothered. “But I will get used to it over time.”
“You shall,” Aemond nods. He seems pleased. Pleased that you will become a Targaryen, that you will be dressed in the color of his house until the end of your days. It is a reminder that you’re his. All his.
“My Prince,” you change the subject. “Might I ask what you are doing outside my chambers this late?”
“I have come to talk.”
You fix him with a blank stare. Talk? The last thing you want to do is talk.
“Where did my guard go?” you ask slowly.
“I advised he take a walk.”
You get a feeling that the conversation with your sworn knight did not play out that way, but this is your future husband; it probably would not be a good idea to go to sleep on a bitter note. Biting back a retort and a sigh, you open your chamber door and wave him in. Aemond struts in casually.
He acts like he owns the place with how he stands directly in the center. You dawdle by the doorway, allowing him to observe the space: he takes in the fireplace, the golden decor, and then your bed, draped in silks and the pillows similar to the fluff of clouds. It’s a beautiful room, you must admit. You take pride in it.
“You are upset about the tribute, I presume,” Aemond says finally, turning to face you. That eye of his is the perfect shade of violet; purple like a flowering bruise, unclouded and intense and determined.
“I am not upset anymore,” you lie. “I do not care.”
“You do care.”
“No.”
It is quiet for a second. Not a word uttered.
Then Aemond pries you right open. “You do.”
“Fine. I do.”
“And why is that, Princess?” He almost taunts.
You want to snap at Aemond — ask him what he means and how can he take something like this so simply. It is not a joke. A civil war is brewing among his family, yet he does not take it seriously at all. He even seems to take joy in participating. The idea has you seething.
Here Aemond is, continuing to pretend that he is harmless, that his touch is gentle, that his palms won't burn handprints into your skin. You would almost believe it if you didn’t know any better.
“With all due respect, My Prince, Jace and Luke are my dearest friends. They are kind and loyal to me, as well as their family.”
Aemond hums, uninterested. "A dog possesses the same traits.”
An anger gathers within you. It screams right into your face: this is how it shall be and you will have to deal with it.
“You are playing quite the jester today, My Prince,” you tell him. I would like to slap you across the face, is what you’re truly thinking.
Aemond lets out an amused huff at that. The light from the lamp in the corner of the room dances along his silhouette, illuminating every plane of his face. His hair is a white, jewel-drenched curtain — there’s the urge to run your hands through it.
How can someone so gorgeous cause so much chaos?
"I am exhausted," you finally sigh. You can feel how hardened your expression has become. “I am finished with miscommunications and arguments. I have tried to refrain from intense emotions and confrontations. The moment I entered King’s Landing, I told you that there was to be no drama. You promised me. And what you did at dinner? That is the trouble I stray from, yet you seem so content in dragging me back in.”
Aemond’s mouth threatens to twitch into a scowl then. He’s trying to keep his face neutral, though annoyance peeks through the cracks in his façade. “You are acting as if jests are more harmful than stealing an eye.”
“I am not saying that. I am saying that if you are to be my husband, you should be shielding me from conflict. Not causing it.”
Aemond has nothing to say to that apparently. He just gazes at you piercingly, that one violet eye intently focused on you. You try to remain steadfast, although you do feel like shrinking under the chill of his stare. Somehow, you find the courage to continue.
“If you truly respect me as your future wife — if you truly love me — then you would cease this petty game.” You steel yourself, begging yourself to be bold and ask the question. “Do you love me, Aemond?”
For a moment, you catch how Aemond’s face changes into one of surprise; he obviously was not expecting that question. It takes a couple of seconds before he fixes his jaw, training his expression into something more cool. Practiced. Poised. But then he looks at you; truly looks at you, stares you down from the inside out. “I should be asking you the same thing.”
You freeze, almost shocked by the rebuttal. You can tell he is being serious: there is a sincerity with which he wants to know.
Aemond may be wild and deranged like a dragon, thirsting for havoc, but he still aches for approval and acknowledgment. Always has. Perhaps that’s what he wants; he wants to hear that even though he fails at kindness and charity, you are still able to love him.
“Tell me,” Aemond demands. Before you can say anything, he strides forward until he’s standing right in front of you. He leans into your space, breath fluttering along your cheeks and voice almost threatening. “Do you love me? For my righteousness that drives you mad and for my lack in restraint that you so despise?”
The fire inside Aemond could kill anyone in a five mile radius; he knows it. Yet he still wants you to love him, to bravely walk into the tempest. Locate him amongst each dancing flame.
“I will accept every piece of you,” is all you can choke out.
Aemond seems to mull the words over. His face is terrifyingly neutral as he observes you carefully; he must not know impatience.
“You still never answered my question,” You blurt. “Do you love me?”
Tell me you love me, is what you really want to say.
Aemond’s face remains blank for a second.
Unbeknownst to you, he’s almost offended at the inquiry. After all the years you have spent together, all the conversations and the secrets shared and the plights experienced — how could you utter such a thing? He was the one who spoke to his mother about proposing to you. Do you really think he did it for political gain? To secure a higher seat in the ranks of royalty?
Aemond almost sneers at your ignorance. “How much longer must we be together before you acknowledge that I am not doing this for power?”
“That does not comfort me, Aemond.”
Silence. Dead silence.
The lack of an answer from Aemond makes you worry: worry that you struck a chord within him, that you have irritated him enough for him to leave, that you have made him regret accepting you as his wife.
But something changes. Slowly — agonizingly slow — Aemond takes both of your hands into his, like a silent vow without words. A white flag of surrender. His profile relaxes into something slightly softer, more reserved.
At the end of the day, he is to be your husband. If you need comfort, he will give you comfort, even if it means he has to be vulnerable.
Just for you. Only for you.
“When we were children, you once accused me of not knowing the meaning of love," Aemond starts. "But you were wrong."
You begin to breathe faster, grateful he can only discern the the direction of your emotions and nothing more. Hearing those words makes you feel something; it flutters inside your lower belly and is comparable to hope.
“I do not give a shit about anyone but you,” Aemond admits. His voice is low, deep, sincere. You almost cannot believe it.
“Is that so?” You try to sound indifferent, but it’s not convincing. His face is so, so close: your noses are almost touching.
“I would not say it if it weren’t the truth,” Aemond hums. “I did not know how to deal with my affections before, nor did I accept them. You have tortured me into becoming someone I am not.”
Tortured?
“I don’t understand—“
“You are the sword I gut myself with; that, Princess, is love."
That’s it. That’s all you needed; that reassurance, that validation. Every single ache in your heart is extinguished in a single second, every wound healed, every internalized scar covered in gauze and bandages and the homeliness that accompanies love.
More. You want him to say more. “…And you will continue to love me?”
“You are mine until death, my dear wife. I am your monster for the rest of time. I am your insanity. I am yours.”
“And me?” You whisper. You’re struggling to focus, trying to remember that you’re mad at him, but his lips are right in front of yours.
Your question nearly makes Aemond chuckle. He holds it back, a sharp exhale of air coming from his nose instead. “You are my refuge.”
“Your refuge?”
“My refuge,” Aemond repeats, his expression more resolute. “I can envision no other peace beyond the one that exists when our bodies are bound.”
“And you prefer me?” You want to be showered in his love, again and again. “Over anyone else?”
“I would choose you over all,” Aemond purrs. His tone, his accent — you could crumple to your knees. "The world is cruel and it steals from everyone, so I shall do the same. I will take what I wish. I will take you every time you are offered.”
Goosebumps threaten to rise from your body. Aemond’s hand comes down to rest on your waist, causing your breath to come out as a stutter. You’re not sure how you haven't disintegrated into nothingness. “I have loved you forever, Aemond.”
A warmth akin to sunshine rises in his face and he almost looks humored. You need him. And he needs you, though he may not outwardly admit it; needs you like you’re oxygen and he's trying to catch a breath.
Suddenly, Aemond’s hand grabs the back of your neck and he pulls you in for a kiss. Your fingers fly up to grip his shoulders when your lips touch, opening your jaw for him on instinct. You grab a fistful of his leather tunic and kiss him as hard as possible, allowing his hands to conquer your body. He tastes of peppermint, smells musky like dragon.
Everything seems to be on fire. The pit of your stomach, your blood, his mouth. All you feel is the strength of his silhouette against your own and you want to remember this forever. With how Aemond holds you so firmly — almost like you might disappear any second — you can tell he feels the same. You have the power to kiss away his suffering, his years of self-hatred, his doubts, and the crushed dreams of an irrelevant future that he always imagined.
Aemond’s hands roam to your lower back, thumbs digging into the silky fabric of your nightgown. You draw him closer, brushing your thigh against his crotch to get a reaction out of him. He lets out a ‘hmm’ into your mouth.
There is nothing you desire more than to examine Aemond in full view with all lamplights on and his clothing off, to have him slowly remove this gown from your body and take his time with touching every inch. You want to run your fingertips across the ridged skin of his scar and trace it all the way down. You want to feel the weight of him flush against you, wrapped around you. You want him.
Finally, you draw away, only to whisper.
“You said you would take me whenever I am offered. Take me then, Aemond.”
A fire alights in Aemond’s eye — he’s considering it — but the flames quickly freeze over with that sense of duty. Self-control. “Not like this,” he murmurs. “But I vow to treat you to obscenities when I bed you. I will leave such marks on your body that anyone you entertain afterwards will have to know me in order to know you.”
Aemond’s words have the ability to make you shiver. It only makes you more excited for your wedding day. Even then, you still want him in this moment. Need his presence.
“Stay with me tonight, at least,” you plead. “Just share the bed with me. Nothing else. I will bribe the guards tomorrow morning so we will not get caught.”
Aemond considers you for a long while. Then, without a word, he smiles. It’s sly, yes, but oh-so beautiful.
“So you will stay?” You ask again. Aemond hums in agreement, cradling your cheek in a palm. It is a tenderness that you were not expecting, but one that you accept heartily. He nods his head before speaking.
“If you put your hand in mine, my dear wife, I will always hold it.”

Can I please request Sukuna and reader picking up their child from preschool? It can be anything, fluff or angst, its up to you!
Love your work and keep it up <33
thank you for requesting and i'm so very sorry that this took a billion years to complete... i just now finally thought of an intriguing way to do this request <3
some warnings: fem!reader, major character death, ooc sukuna, major angst, modern AU, sukuna and reader have a daughter
good things never really last.
well, at least that's what sukuna believed before he came across you. you and your delicate expressions and equally as delicate affection and warmth, which seemed to wrap around him constantly, even when he tried to avoid you at the beginning of all this, all because of his own uncertainty and his rather skeptical outlooks on the concept of love.
he's always been self-centered-- so the idea of his life becoming centered around anyone else but himself, frankly, scared him a little bit.
but, putting that aside...
a high pitched, overjoyed squeal rings out from inside the daycare centre, and a little girl comes running into your open arms, embracing you with the overflowing energy that little children always tend to have. you lift her up with ease, smiling as she giggles from the gesture.
"mommy!" she says, nuzzling her soft, tiny face against yours without much care for being gentle. someone else trails in from behind, feeling a little left out from this reunion.
"aren't you forgetting someone here, princess?"
sukuna also makes his entrance into the centre, walking towards the both of you. your tiny daughter gasps, and flails her arms out towards the big man.
"daddy!! you're here too?!"
"that i am, sweetheart. happy to see me?" he takes her away from you, holding her as gently as possible with his large hands.
"uh huh," she nods with enthusiasm.
"of course you do. my little girl."
the sukuna of the past would've never fathomed having a future like this, where he'd be handling a child of all things with such care. it's really different when they're your own flesh and blood. he's adored her like no one else. ah- well- no one else but you, that is.
he carries her to the car, while you take your daughter's bag from the daycare teacher, who waves you off with a couple of words of goodbye.
the ride home is nothing short of cosy and cheerful, with the happy singing of your little girl coming from the backseats, and the laughs from you as you listen to the way she mispronounces a lot of the words in the song. sukuna drives wordlessly, with a gentle smile on his face.
the skies happened to be so clear that day, with not a speck of a cloud being sighted within it.
some time after arriving home, you began to languidly start your work in the kitchen, preparing dinner that also turned out even better tasting than usual, that particular night. you always felt the happiest, when sukuna praised your cooking, especially as someone who you knew had very high standards when it came to food.
and miraculously, once dinner was all finished and your daughter was all dressed up ready for bedtime, she managed to fall asleep a lot faster than most evenings, leaving you and sukuna with quite a bit of...freetime.
you lay on the mattress under his sultry gaze, as he undresses you carefully as though he were unwrapping a present, trailing soft kisses down the side of your neck. you're as beautiful as the day he first met you. this was the most perfect end to the most perfect day in his life.
too perfect.
...
he should have been suspicious, with the way things were getting so blissful in his life-- his life that had previously been so rocky and turbulent.
was this supposed to be punishment for his sins? for all his arrogance and selfishness? the heavens decided to grace him with the feeling of genuine love and its reciprocation, only to then tear it away from his hands once he'd started to take it for granted.
...it was an unforeseen accident. could've happened to anybody. why did it have to be you?
good things never last.
sukuna drops the home phone immediately upon hearing the news, and hurriedly packs a small bag for his daughter. he drops her off to her friend's house, who is a long term neighbour of theirs. then makes a beeline towards the hospital, speeding past every red light that dared to try and stop him.
yet, that was all for naught, as by the time he'd arrived to your bed at the hospital, you had already taken your last breath, and said your final words. which he couldn't hear for himself.
'please tell them that i love them'. that was apparently all you tried to say. sukuna is made to sign some documents on your passing, and shortly after, they give him some time to spend with your lifeless body. he is then sent home.
he arrives to see some mail that had been slipped in through the front door. notifications of fines, for crossing red lights multiple times and going against speed limits. nothing but a reminder of his failure.
he tears the letters into pieces, and sits himself down on a chair, where he hangs his head in silence, without bothering to turn the lights on in the house.
and all of a sudden, he becomes so very busy, in the following weeks.
caring for his daughter alone. preparing for your funeral. accepting your death.
grief is such a strange, and horrible experience. all this love he has for you. where is it supposed to go now?
the night after your funeral, he's sitting alone at the dining table once again. he can't stand the bedroom. not when it's become only his now, and no longer yours as well. sukuna hasn't slept well in a while.
small footsteps resound against the floorboards, and he looks up to see his daughter standing meekly a distance away from him.
"what's wrong? had a bad dream?" he asks, with the most gentle voice he can muster in his current condition.
"...no. i just had a dream about mommy," she confesses tearfully.
"why can't she just come back? i miss her."
too young to understand the concept of death.
"oh, sweetheart... i miss her too."
she begins to cry, and he gets up to comfort her, as if the one needing the most comfort right now isn't himself.
they huddle and sleep together that night, in attempts to replicate your warmth. the warmth of a mother. and the warmth of a wife.
-
since then, a part of sukuna seemed to change back into his older self, where he cared less for others and remained disinterested in most things that life offered him. he decided not to care about anything or anyone, other than himself and of course, his darling daughter. your gift to him. the only thing keeping him grounded.
he never finds a new lover, nor does he harbour any desires to seek for one, despite the encouragement from others.
you keep appearing in his dreams every now and then. every night before bed, he hopes to see you again, and is disappointed in the mornings where he wakes up with the realisation that it didn't happen.
years and years pass, and while he ages like fine wine, so does his little girl, who becomes not so little anymore. they still share the best bond that a father and daughter could ever have.
but eventually, she finds her own path in life and leaves the house to pursue her own dreams, even getting married to start her own family.
though they still regularly contact each other, sukuna's abode becomes sorrowfully quiet without her presence around. though he's proud as a father, this solitude only deepens his longing for you, like the sensation of slowly sinking towards the bottom of the ocean floor.
good things never last.
though, it's not until a few more years later, that he passes away rather peacefully of old age.
his soul feels light and airy. he feels calm, despite being aware that he's passed on into the afterlife. the bodily discomforts of aging is non-existent in this place.
he's walking towards the bright light, where he assumes he's supposed to go, and realises that there's a figure standing towards the end of it. sukuna already knows who it is, and his walking begins to speed up.
and with each step, his time rewinds.
"look at you. still all pretty and pristine, unlike me with my abhorrent wrinkles," sukuna comments with a chuckle in his voice.
"what are you talking about? you're still as handsome as ever."
as you grab his hand, your touch shifts his appearance... and sukuna reverts back to the time when he glimmered the most vibrantly - the days before you died, the days of his brilliant twenties. he stares at his own hand, where the creases in his skin have disappeared completely.
rejoicing, he pulls you in for a tight embrace, as he can now feel your body against his.
"you did so well. our little girl grew up so beautifully," you tell him with your sweet voice, hands placed against his broad back.
"of course. she's none other than our daughter, after all," he replies with confidence, as he presses his face against the locks of your hair, enjoying your familiar scent.
your bright smile turns to something more sorrowful, and you step back a bit to come face-to-face with him.
"and... you never found someone else. you never remarried."
"because I never intended to look for another. You were the first and last," sukuna tells you matter-of-factly.
"wasn't it lonely?"
"...terribly. but you're here now, so it was worth enduring after all."
you laugh, and it sounds exactly the same as it did all those years before. the memories he had of you, the ones that he held onto so tightly as to not forget, until his very last breath.
"that makes me selfishly happy. i shouldn't be, for your sake, but I am."
"then why don't you give me a kiss? for all my hard effort."
he leans in, like how he'd always done whenever you appeared in his dreams at night.
except this time, your lips actually reach his, instead of disappearing away, like a fleeting memory.
good things may never last for long, but misfortune certainly doesn't last forever, either.

Common Dreams
October 29, 2023
The message of Israeli peace groups’ peaceful solutions are drowned out by the media’s addiction to interviews with military tacticians.
In the midst of extensive coverage of the war in Gaza, there are questions that the U.S. mass media should address:
1. How did Hamas, with tiny Gaza surrounded by a 17-year Israeli blockade, subjected to unparalleled electronic surveillance, with spies and informants, and augmented by an overwhelming air, sea, and land military presence, manage to get these weapons and associated technology for their October 7 surprise raid?
2. What is the connection between the stunning failure of the Israeli government to protect its people on the border and the policy of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu? Recall TheNew York Times (October 22, 2023) article by prominent journalist, Roger Cohen, to wit: “All means were good to undo the notion of Palestinian statehood. In 2019, Mr. Netanyahu told a meeting of his center-right Likud party: ‘Those who want to thwart the possibility of a Palestinian state should support the strengthening of Hamas and the transfer of money to Hamas. This is part of our strategy.’” (Note: Israel and the U.S. fostered the rise of Islamic Hamas in 1987 to counter the secular Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)).
3. Why is Congress preparing to appropriate over $14 billion to Israel in military and other aid without any public hearings and without any demonstrated fiscal need by Israel, a prosperous economic, technological, and military superpower with a social safety net superior to that of the U.S.? USDA just reported over 44 million Americans struggled with hunger in 2022. This, in the midst of a childcare crisis. Should U.S. taxpayers be expected to pay for Netanyahu’s colossal intelligence/military collapse?
Under international law, Biden has made the U.S. an active “co-belligerent” of the Israeli government’s vocal demolition of the 2.3 million inhabitants in Gaza, who are mostly descendants of Palestinian refugees driven from their homes in 1948.
4. Why hasn’t the media reported on President Joe Biden’s statement that the Gaza Health Ministry’s body count (now over 7,000 fatalities) is exaggerated? All indications, however, are that it is a large undercount by Hamas to minimize its inability to protect its people. Israel has fired over 8,000 powerful precision munitions and bombs so far. These have struck many thousands of inhabited buildings—homes, apartments buildings, over 120 health facilities, ambulances, crowded markets, fleeing refugees, schools, water and sewage systems, and electric networks—implementing Israeli military orders to cut off all food, water, fuel, medicine, and electricity to this already impoverished densely packed area the size of Philadelphia. For those not directly slain, the deadly harm caused by no food, water, medicine, medical facilities, and fuel will lead to even more deaths and serious injuries.
Note that over three-quarters of Gaza’s population consists of children and women. Soon there will be thousands of babies born to die in the rubble. Other Palestinians will perish from untreated diseases, injuries, dehydration, and from drinking contaminated water. With crumbled sanitation facilities, physicians are fearing a deadly cholera epidemic.
Israel bombed the Rafah crossing on the Gaza-Egypt border. Only a tiny trickle of trucks are now allowed there by Israel to carry food and water. Fuel for hospital generators still remains blocked.
5. Why can’t Biden even persuade Israel to let 600 desperate Americans out of the Gaza firestorm?
6. Why isn’t the mass media making a bigger issue out of Israel’s long-time practices of blocking journalists from entering Gaza, including European, American, and Israeli journalists? The only television crews left are Gazan-residing Al Jazeera reporters. Israeli bombs have already killed 26 journalists in the Gaza Strip since October 7th. Is Israel targeting journalists’ families? Gaza bureau chief of Al Jazeera Wael Al-Dahdouh’s family was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Wednesday.
Historians remind us that in a gridlocked conflict over time, it is the most powerful party’s responsibility to lead the way to peace.
7. Why isn’t the mainstream U.S. media giving adequate space and voice to groups advocating a cease-fire and humanitarian aid? The message of Israeli peace groups’ peaceful solutions are drowned out by the media’s addiction to interviews with military tacticians. Much time and space are being given to hawks pushing for a war that could flash outside of Gaza big time. Shouldn’t groups such as Jewish Voice for Peace, the Arab-American Institute, Veterans for Peace, and associations of clergy have their views and activities reported?
8. Why is the coverage of the war overlooking the Geneva Conventions, the United Nations Charter, and the many provisions of international law that all the parties, including the U.S., have been violating? (See the October 24, 2023 letter to President Biden). Under international law, Biden has made the U.S. an active “co-belligerent” of the Israeli government’s vocal demolition of the 2.3 million inhabitants in Gaza, who are mostly descendants of Palestinian refugees driven from their homes in 1948. (See, Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide).
9. What about the human-interest stories that would be revealing? For example: How do Israeli F-16 pilots feel about their daily bombing of the completely defenseless Gazan civilian population and its life-sustaining infrastructures? What are the courageous Israeli human rights and refuseniks thinking and doing in a climate of serious repression of their views as a result of Netanyahu’s defense collapse on October 7?
10. Where is the media attention on the statements from Israeli military commentators, who, for years have declared high-tech U.S.-backed, nuclear-armed Israel to be more secure than at any time in its history? Israel is reasserting its overwhelming military domination of the entire region, fully backed by U.S. militarism.
Historians remind us that in a gridlocked conflict over time, it is the most powerful party’s responsibility to lead the way to peace.
Establishing a two-state solution has been supported by Palestinians. All the Arab nations, starting with the Arab League peace proposal in 2002, support this solution as well. It is up to Israel and the U.S., assuming annexation of what is left of Palestine is not Israel’s objective. (See, the March 29, 2002 New York Times article: “Mideast Turmoil; Text of the Peace Proposals Backed by the Arab League”).
More media attention on this subject matter is much needed.

JJ walks into work with a big smile on her face. She is so invested in her phone that she doesn't see who she almost ends up walking into.
“Why are you smiling so much?” Spencer asks.
“Oh, hey, Spence. No reason. I’m just having a good morning.”
“She was on the phone with her girlfriend,” Derek teases as he passes by with coffee in his hands.
“She’s not my girlfriend,” JJ says and slaps Derek’s arm lightly. All he does is laugh and sit at his desk. “She’s just a friend.”
“Then why is your face red?” Spencer asks innocently.
JJ touches her cheeks to find them really warm. That only causes her to blush even deeper.
“When are we gonna meet her?”
“I met her briefly while on her case, but JJ dealt with her the most,” Derek says.
“She’s a busy woman. Maybe later. You guys should really get back to work.”
JJ makes a quick escape while she can, leaving her friends to laugh and speculate about the status of her relationship. She doesn’t even know what you two are. You two flirted while on the case, you took her out for coffee afterward, and nothing happened. You two talk when you can, but you two went out on an official date. You never asked her to be your girlfriend. Still, that doesn’t mean JJ won’t smile every time your name pops up on her phone.
She gets to her office where there are piles of files waiting to be sorted through. Different police departments across the country send in their files for her to look over, and she picks the ones she feels her team needs to be involved with. The ones she rejects go back to their respective departments with a letter explaining why the FBI decided not to take on their case.
Some of the files she sees break her heart, especially ones with children involved. She has two kids with her ex-husband whom she loves dearly. She can’t fathom the idea of her children being in one of these files. She gets through five of them and decides to take a small break. She leans back in her desk and picks up her phone but there is no message from you.
“Agent Jareau?” someone knocks on her open door.
“Yeah, come in.”
“There is a package for you.”
“Thank you,” she smiles and grabs it.
The only thing on the top is her name handwritten in beautiful cursive letters. She opens the box to see a velvet jewelry box and a note inside.
I thought of your eyes when I saw these. I couldn’t resist.
There is a lipstick print of a pair of lips on the corner of the page indicating whoever sent this is romantically linked to JJ. She doesn't have to see a name to know who sent this. She opens the small velvet box to reveal a set of bright blue sapphire earrings that dangle delicately. She gasps and picks one up carefully, scared she might drop it and break it. She’s never seen this kind of design before, so they must be super expensive.
Or they might be a one-of-a-kind. You do own a multi-billion dollar jewelry business.
JJ doesn't know what to say. She’s never grown up with money. The most expensive thing she can afford is a three-day cruise to New York and back. The most expensive thing she was gifted besides the earrings was a crystal wine glass set she got at her wedding. Being spoiled with such nice things is a bit overwhelming but she knows you’re doing it in a place of love.
She picks up her phone and calls you. You’re in Quantico at a business meeting that has just finished. You look at your phone and grin when you see JJ’s name and face.
“Did you like my present?” you answer.
“They’re beautiful. I wasn’t expecting them.”
“I know. They’re a prototype of something I’m designing. They’re one-of-a-kind. I might just keep it that way. That way you’ll be the only one to have them.”
“If only you could see me now,” JJ blushes.
“Listen, I’m glad you called. I’m going to be in town for the rest of the week. I want to take you out to dinner. I can pick you up tonight. If you’re not busy.”
“Yeah, I don’t have anything planned.”
“Great. Wear something nice. I’ll pick you up at six.”
“Okay, see you then.” As soon as JJ hangs up, she rushes over to Penelope’s office where Pen and Emily are. “I need help.”
“Whoa, where’s the fire?”
“Y/N asked me out to dinner.” Pen and Emily start to squeal like school girls but JJ shuts them down. “No, I don’t have anything to wear. She wants me to wear something nice, and I highly doubt Hotch will let me take some time to go shopping.”
“Okay, don’t worry. I might have something,” Emily says. “The last case needed me to wear something nice but it was a little tight. You’re smaller than me so it might fit you. Come on.”
Emily, Pen, and JJ walk to Emily’s desk where her go bag is. Emily produces a slim, elegant, beautiful dress. It’s mint green that’s backless except for a few spaghetti straps crossing over each other. It’s very simple with no design but elegant and silky. It’s perfect for what you requested… JJ hopes.
“This is perfect. I hope she likes it.”
“Oh, she will,” Penelope grins.
Come the end of the day when everyone is packing up to go home, JJ is nervously waiting for you to pick her up. Everyone stays behind to meet the elusive billionaire, and you pull up to the building at six sharp. You chose six because this is when the sun is going down, and where you’re taking her needs to have a beautiful sunset.
“I’ll be right back,” you say to your driver and exit the sleek SUV. You walk inside the building, and the only thing that sounds is your heels on the glossy floor. You reach the third floor where the BAU is, and you pull open the glass doors. You’re greeted by four people who look eager for your arrival. “Excuse me. I’m looking for Jennifer Jareau?”
“She’s on her way down. I’m Emily. I’m one of her coworkers.”
“It’s nice to meet you,” you smile and shake her hand. The next hand you shake belongs to Derek, then Penelope, and finally Spencer. “I’ve heard nothing but good things about you.”
“I’m a huge fan of your work,” Penelope says. “My mother got me one of your necklaces as a present one year. Princess cut single diamond necklace.”
“Princess cut is always a favorite of my customers.”
“You better treat our girl right,” Derek says as a half-joke.
“Don’t worry, Derek. She’s in good hands. I promise to bring her back in one piece,” you chuckle.
Speaking of the devil, JJ walks down the short staircase from the second story to the first. She looks absolutely breathtaking in the mint green dress with the bright blue sapphire earrings. There’s nothing about her that doesn’t blow you away.
“I didn’t think it was possible for you to get even more beautiful,” you grin and kiss her cheek.
“I was about to say the same thing.”
“Okay, you two have fun. I expect a full report tomorrow,” Penelope smiles.
You escort JJ down to the car which catches her by surprise. It shouldn’t considering how wealthy you are, but it does. Once inside the car, the driver takes you to the port where there are loads of boats. The colors of the sunset bounce off the water. All shades of purple, pink, orange, and yellow make the water shimmer beautifully. The driver parks by the docks and gets out to open your doors. Waiting on the water is your private yacht with a personal chef, cleaner, and pilot.
“Wow, I can’t believe this,” JJ gasps.
“I had my yacht sail in when I knew I’d be coming here. We’re having dinner and taking a tour of the coast.”
JJ has no words so she decides not to say anything. You take her on board and that’s when the pilot takes off. The first course goes by quickly but you allow the next course to last as long as you can. The sunset makes JJ’s skin shine and shimmer and her blue eyes pop in the light contrast.
“I can’t believe this is happening,” she chuckles.
“Only the best for the best. I can offer you all this and more if you want me to.”
You reach and scoop some food onto the fork and bring it to her lips. She moans when she tastes the delicious food the chef made. You set the fork down, pull her in, and press your lips to hers. This is the first time you’ve kissed her since meeting her but nothing feels out of place. Everything is as it should be at this moment.
“Stay the night with me,” you whisper.
“I think I can make that happen,” she giggles.
She kisses you this time as the boat slowly sails on the open water.

hello! i just want to say that i think you’re an amazing writer and i love your stories!! i see that you’re taking requests right now so i thought i’d give it a try. i was hoping you could make an angst + fluff. the idea is about neteyam and human reader who have been friends since they were children. they both have a crush on eo but is unaware about it. neteyam has been dying to tell her about his crush on her but always ended up stuttering and changing the subject. reader on the other hand, just never planned on telling him seeing how they’re not even the same species to begin with and even if they were, she’s just a nobody while he’s the future oloeyktan. one day, rumors started spreading around about how neteyam is going to be mated w an omaticaya woman. reader thought that was what neteyam wanted to talk to her about, about him and his mate. she thought he doesn’t feel comfortable telling her about it so she begins distancing herself, thinking she’s doing him a favour. neteyam noticed how reader is avoiding him everytime he tries to talk to her, oblivious of the rumours going around. after a few weeks, he’s had enough so he corners her and confronts her and they’d fight and it ends up in both of them confessing to eo. sorry if this is too long and my grammar is off, english is not my first language. feel free to ignore this request. thank you <3 have an amazing day/night!
Meant to be
Neteyam Sully x human! Reader
🧷 warning: angst, fluff.
🫧 a/n: Thank you so much anon!! I appreciate your kind words & I love this req. I’m obsessed with angst & this was perfectttt. (Your english is perfect btw) I’m so sorry this took a billion years to publish but I hope you like it!
💭 You’ve been in love with Neteyam since you were a child, unbeknownst to you— he’s felt the exact same way. The only problem is, you’re a human and he’s the future Olo’eyktan. You don’t think you’re worthy enough and so you start to distance yourself— something that Neteyam cannot accept.
You couldn't understand why you had been born like this. As a child, you had noticed you were starkly different to everyone around you, you clearly weren't a Na'vi, but you were accepted graciously by most anyway. No one seemed to mind that you were a part of the sky people-- besides your physical differences, you lived and acted like the Omatikyan. When you had hit the age of eight, the teasing from other young Na'vi children started.
"You look so weird"
"Why don't you go back to your own people"
You were minding your own business and admiring the nature of the forest when a group of young boys started to pick on you. Pulling on your hair, laughing at how short you were and your facial features. You cried and begged them to leave you alone-- but they ignored you and continued. That is until the Olo'eyktan's eldest son saved you by interfering with the group and chasing them off.
"Brother, why did you not help her?" You watch him as he scolds his younger brother for being a bystander. He didn't join in with the others but you noticed he was watching, unsure of what to do.
"I'm sorry, Nete-- I was scared they wouldn't want to be my friends if I stopped them" Lo'ak stuttered, he didn't show it but he felt guilty-- you could tell. Neteyam helped you up, rubbed your back as you cried and comforted you. You were practically a nobody to him, yet he showed you such kindness.
"I promise I'll protect you from now on" He uttered softly to you as he let you cry into his shoulder. You knew from that day, Neteyam was the one.
As you both grew older, you started to realise how much you loved Neteyam. You tried to deny it at first, but you knew undoubtedly that you had a crush on your bestfriend. Blame it on puberty but you would grow flustered at even the simplest of things he'd do. He'll randomly hold your hand, brush strands of hair out of your face -- make eye contact with you for longer than ten seconds, your face warms and you feel your stomach turn in a good way.
You watch him from afar, huffing in frustration as you observe from a much lower view from the others. Their laughter rings in your ears, jealousy filling in your gut as you watch them have fun while you’re stuck on the ground. You felt like a baby, completely useless as you cross your arms and try not to throw a fit.
“Can’t I just climb up for a few minutes? I know how to!” You call up to the others, your voice only gaining the attention of Neteyam.
“I told you it’s too dangerous. I’ll be down in a few minutes” You just huff at his words, kicking at some dirt beneath your feet before you go occupy yourself.
You ignore them all as you walk, blocking out their conversations as you trail behind them. As per usual, they’re all too engrossed in their own conversations to notice you’ve been trailing behind. Neteyam glances back once he realises you’re not by his side, so he slows down so he can walk beside you.
“You’re tired. I’ll carry you” Neteyam offers, and when you decline he just rolls his eyes and picks you up anyway— letting you jump on his back. You wrap your arms around his neck for support, your chin resting on his shoulder.
“I’m sorry for always stopping you from joining us— I just can’t risk anything happening to you” He apologises, his voice soft as he talks to you. He doesn’t see the way you glance at him, your fingers gently grazing his skin as you grip onto him tighter.
“It’s okay. I know” You hum in reassurance, realising holding a grudge wasn’t worth it. He was only looking out for you, you shouldn’t give him too much slack about it.
“I—I wanted to talk to you about…something” Neteyam stutters out, seeming to have lost his confidence suddenly. You hum, waiting for him to continue his sentence. When he seems to struggle speaking, you nudge him gently.
“You can tell me anything. I’ll be understanding of whatever it is” Your voice is soothing to him, a sign that it’s okay— he can finally do this without having to worry about what you’ll think or say. He nods before finally gathering together his thoughts. As soon as he opens his mouth, Spider and Lo’ak interrupt you both — calling out to Neteyam.
Neteyam realises then that maybe telling you he’s been in love with you for years wouldn’t be the best time. The others were being too noisy and Tuk was practically clinging onto Neteyam’s leg— he wanted the moment to be perfect, so he decides to wait.
“I’ll tell you later”
Later doesn’t arrive. You both get too caught up in your own duties that neither of you find the time to yourselves anyway. Neteyam trains with his father and you have to go back to the lab to meet with Norm. Sometimes you forget you can’t breathe their air without a stupid mask, you’re only reminded when you’re finally around people who look like you. You tried to remind yourself to ask Neteyam about what he wanted to tell you, you were curious but as the days pass— you naturally forget to ask.
You’re looking after Tuk one day while Kiri and the others hunt with Jake, the pair of you both sitting amongst the other woman while you teach Tuk how to weave. You swear you didn’t mean to eavesdrop, your attention is almost solely focused on Tuk— but you can’t help but overhear the other Omatikayan women. They’re sat in a circle not far from you, giggling to themselves— the mentioning of Neteyam’s name catches your attention.
“The Olo’eyktan’s eldest son has finally found a mate”
“Are you certain? Neteyam didn’t seem interested in any of the girls I’ve seen” One of them scoffs, your eyes trailing toward their faces.
“She’s the daughter of the best hunter in the village. I’m sure the two will marry soon enough. Neytiri and Jake Sully did the same”
You force yourself to tear your attention away from them, your chest aching far too much to handle listening to any more of their conversation. Neteyam is your closest friend, surely if he had found a mate you would’ve been the first to know. Tears almost burn in your eyes as you realise that maybe that’s what he wanted to tell you the other day. He probably wanted to tell you before people started to talk, but now it was too late.
Daughter of the best hunter. Neteyam deserves only the best for his mate, someone who would be a good Tsahìk, who’s important to the clan— someone who’s actually Na’vi. His own kind. No matter how much you talk, act and think like them— you’ll never be the same. You’re a human, you love Neteyam— you dream of finally expressing your feelings toward him but there’s no point. You knew this would happen eventually but you didn’t think it would still hurt this much.
You start to distance yourself from Neteyam. It’s better for him, he has more important things to think about now— he finally has a mate and the last thing you wanted was for him to be distracted by you. The guilt you feel weighs heavy on you everytime you avoid him. You’ll hide away from him if you see him around the village, you no longer tag along when the group wants to explore the forest anymore and even when he does catch you to talk— you always cut him off short.
Neteyam noticed the change instantly the moment you brushed him off the first time. He had finally finished his training for the day, and although he was exhausted he wanted nothing else but to spend some time with you. You plagued his thoughts all day, to the point where he was scolded a few times for losing focus by his elders. He couldn’t help it, seeing you was his favourite part of his days. Now he felt lost.
“I can’t hang out. Sorry, I gotta go to the lab” You lied, your eyes barely meeting his before you brushed past him, making sure you walked fast enough to lose him before you finally exhaled.
Neteyam stood confused, his heart pounding in his chest as he wondered why you left so suddenly. Something was bothering you but he didn’t know what. He huffs, fighting the urge to follow after you and decides to give you some space. He tries countless times after the first encounter to try and figure out why you’re acting so cold toward him, but as weeks pass— he starts to grow impatient.
“I’m gonna talk to her.” Neteyam hums to Lo’ak as he watches you from afar, his fingers fiddling with each other anxiously as he prepares himself.
“Just go and do it. You’ve been stalling for too long” Lo’ak complains before he pushes his brother forward with one hand, Neteyam gives his brother a dirty look before he fixes himself and moves toward you.
Unfortunately for him, you catch him on the way so you hastily leave the circle to try and lose him from your trail. You walk until you move past the tents and just when you think you’ve lost him, you feel him grasp ahold of your arm.
“You’re not running away from me this time” He tuts as you finally stop in your tracks, huffing you pull your wrist from his grasp and turn to look up at him.
“We need to talk. Right now” Neteyam is serious, you’ve only heard him speak to Lo’ak in this tone so you knew you had to have this conversation now. You couldn’t run from it any longer.
“About what?”
“Do not tease me. You know exactly what I’m talking about” Neteyam seethes, referring to the fact you’ve been ignoring him for weeks on end. You sigh heavily before shaking your head.
“There’s no point talking about it. Just know I’m doing it for you” He scoffs at your statement, the sound causing you to narrow your eyes at him in annoyance.
“Doing what for me? Ignoring me. Making me feel like shit because I don’t know what I did wrong?” He argues with you.
“You didn’t do anything wrong. But you should’ve known this was going to happen eventually, I just wish you had told me sooner!” You exclaim, finally losing your patience.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about! One moment we’re fine and the next you’re ignoring me and leaving me behind. I’ve had enough. Just tell me what’s wrong” He raises his voice, frustration clear in his tone as he speaks to you. The weeks of silence from the one person he wants finally got to him.
“You finding a mate. I had to hear it from other women in the village gossiping. Not just them, others too” You huff, tears finally clouding your vision— your throat tightening as your cheeks grow wet. The angered look on Neteyam’s face slowly drops as he realises why you’ve been acting this way.
“I love you Nete. Not like the way I love the others. I’m in love with you. I’ve never told you and I didn’t plan on telling you because I’m human. You’re Na’vi, we won’t work. Finding out you have a mate just made me realise that even more” You struggle to talk, your voice cracking an embarrassing amount as you finally confess.
You think you’ve ruined your friendship the moment the words slip out of your mouth but to Neteyam— you’ve only strengthened the bond you share. He smiles at you before crouching down to meet more on your level— his hand meeting your side to comfort you.
“I didn’t know there was talk of me finding a mate. I’m sorry— if I had known earlier I would’ve made it known it wasn’t true” Neteyam apologises— your forehead creases as a look of confusion grows on your face.
“You don’t have a mate?”
“No, silly girl. I mean— it’s true some elders have tried to find me one but I’ve declined them all. There’s only one for me and I found her years ago when I saved her from bullies” He laughs, his smile contagious as one grows on your own face. You exhale heavily, feeling guilty for treating him so poorly over some rumours.
“I wanted to tell you I feel the exact same way. I just couldn’t do it in front of the others. I wanted the moment to be perfect” He uses his free hand to caress the back of your hair, the feeling of his touch causing your chest to warm.
“I don’t care that we’re different. You’re the only one I want” He sighs, the weight finally lifting from his chest. All those years of waiting to tell you, they’re finally worth it.
“I see you”

HIII! The ask box finally decided to work for me- 😭 I have a few questions....again.
Have The Archivists faced any dangerous threats? (Not including the Titans)
Can Archivists been born from a Gamma ray Burst and not just a KiloNova?
Have the Archivists ever considered the existence of other Cosmic beings from different dimensions?
Does The Wayfarer still have the skull of the extinct species?
How old is The Anatomist? (Are they in the 100 thousands or maybe in the 1 million range)
Would they attempt to help Climate change, deforestation, humans driving animals to extinction, just planet destroying stuff in general on Earth?
All lot of questions- Sorry about that. 😓
I have no clue what the issue with the inbox is. Some of the asks also disappeared when I know for a fact I got them and was planning to respond later. But glad this one survived. Gotta say, it's a rapid ask fire, so I'll short-answer them
1. So yeah, there aren't many things that can hurt them, but celestial beings can damage each other. Encountering other children of the stars is rare, but if that happens, and it's difficult to predict what a semi-conscious mass of magic decides to do or another far more unstable collector, but they havent seen them for a long time. As for non-physical threats, at this point, they are mostly desensitized to mortals, but that's also something they found out: how bad people can be when they are scared of someone, like Belos with no remorse throwing Collectros disc to be forgotten. I'm pretty sure if he could ensure more to control a pretty powerful power source he would even if that powersourse was a kid and I dont belive he was the only person to ever have this approach
2. Maaybe? In my version, children of the stars are born from events where a big release of energy and magic occurs. Kilonovae typically release energy of 10^41 to 10^43 joules, GRBs typically release something around 10^44 to 10^48 joules. I think it would create a celestial being, but I'm not sure if it would really be a collector or rather some other celestial creature that is simmillar but not the same. I'd like to think that collectors are all born from the same astronomical phenomena, especially given how rare they are (and it plays a little bit into siblings motive), but I dont really have a good reason why it cant be Gamma Rey too
3. They are aware of other realms, but traveling between them is bit more tricky and they already try to keep up with everything that goes on in the galaxy they are currently in. I think there is some quirk to titan magic that makes the travel between dimensions really possilbe or at least more controlled
4. yup! they took more keepsakes but the skull is preserved in Way's corner of the archive
Tumblr media
5. It's closer to billions in range. For collectors to be able to look over evolution, stars coming into existence, millions of years isn't enough. Anatomist was one of the younger collectors when the first archives were established and everyone split to their own, but it was still a long time ago. I imagine it takes a very long time for immortal beings to grow up. At the point of the story, they aren't even really mature
6. I know it's currently still a theory, but there are articles about Earth currently experiencing 6th mass extinction, the previous one being that one that took out the dinosaurs. The archivists' goal is to preserve life, and if it's dying, that mission is sabotaged. So yeah, they would probably try to stop it, but I don't think they'd take kindly to the one species that caused it so the earth after their interference wouldnt be the same

Not enough discussion yet of the Logan-Colin scene. The man who has spent 3 seasons adamantly refusing to acknowledge his own mortality suddenly wants to talk about the afterlife. It's not real, but if IS real then he has some fucking theories.
Logan spends this entire episode wanting someone to tell him he's not that bad a person. Since the beginning of the show, he's used various shields to hold the allegations of moral rot at bay. Everything he's ever done, he's done for his children. This is nothing but cultural blowback, he's being punished for the sins of others. He's a good Catholic boy who couldn't even take off his undershirt in front of his wife. He just knows things about the world, that's how he makes a buck. Each excuse is flimsier than the last. And now, finally, he's out of excuses. The season 3 finale was the moment of truth where he was forced to reveal the kind of man he truly was. He's a man who wants to keep his children close even when it hurts them. He's a man who mocks love and fosters betrayal and whose only goal is to add more billions to his pile. He's a man who poisons everything around him.
And so now here he is, 81, only sycophants at his party. His children aren't here, revealing that he's not the loving father he presented himself as. Mencken isn't here, revealing that he's not as powerful or influential as he used to be (the Raisin would NEVER have snubbed a birthday invite). The Cardinal isn't here, so he can't point to the presence of a churchman as an endorsement of his own righteousness. (Why isn't the Cardinal here? Is it just because he doesn't care, or is there an unsaid moral condemnation involved in that decision?) So he leaves, and he goes to a diner with his "best friend" Colin, a man he pays to be by his side every hour of every day.
On the Succession podcast, Jesse Armstrong talks about Logan's perception of humans as something fundamentally childish. He doesn't know how to exist in the world. He doesn't have the vocabulary to relate to other people. We've spent 3 seasons debating what he considers to be a "real person", and here he reveals that he himself doesn't even know. The only way he can understand other people, the only way he can relate to them, is in economic and business terms. A person is an economic unit, moving through markets. It (and notice he says "it", not "he" or "she" or "they") has dreams and values and goals, but those simply serve to dictate how it moves through those markets. That's true for the random person on the street, but it's also true for himself and his children and everyone at Waystar. The difference is not that other people are economic units and he and his family are not. The difference is that he and his family are much bigger economic units, that make a bigger impact on the markets. They're 100 feet tall, and everyone else is pygmies, and yet being 100 feet tall doesn't make his tuna sandwich taste any better.
(And it's worth noting that when Tom and Shiv finally encounter each other, they use the same kind of economic language to discuss the state of their marriage. Shiv doesn't want to rake up a bunch of bullshit for no profit. Tom asks if she really wants to take a full accounting of all the pain in their marriage. They don't even realize that somewhere along the way they began perceiving each other and their marriage through the same lens that Logan perceives the world. They don't even recognize that they've reduced each other to economic units, moving through various markets searching for some shred of happiness or fulfillment.)
And then finally we come to the question of the afterlife. Logan doesn't believe there is an afterlife. Or does he? Maybe he genuinely doesn't. Maybe he's looked at the world and decided that heaven and hell don't fit into his market-centric worldview. Or maybe, the self-professed "good little Catholic boy" who's upset the Cardinal didn't come to his birthday party knows deep down that if there is an afterlife, he's not going to a good place. Maybe the only shield he has left to defend himself is the idea that there is no heaven and there is no hell, said with all the conviction of a man who fears his own damnation but doesn't see any way to avoid that fate.
And then he comes back to the party and he wants someone to roast him. He's staring down the gun barrel of his own impending death and he needs other people to join him in his glib assessment of his moral failings, to confirm that it's not a big deal, it's just business, his kids just suck and he's a pretty good guy and they all love him. And not a single one of them can. Karl and Frank and Gerri are too afraid of him to try and make light of his faults (in itself a somewhat damning statement). The only person even willing to try is Greg, and sure he has no comedic timing, but the deeper issue is that what's wrong with Logan is simply not funny. It's not lighthearted and glib. It's miserable and sad and lonely, and everyone is afraid of him, and there's no love or camaraderie in anything Greg says. Greg asks him where his children are and the only thing he can do is remind Greg that he, too, has been abandoned by the people who should care about him, that Greg is just as lonely and pathetic and desperately scrambling for connection as he is.
And then finally, we see Logan on the couch, in the middle of the night, watching ATN. Two men are left with life-threatening injuries after a brawl that went too far. A stupid pointless fight from which emerged no victors. Two men far younger than Logan, dying in a hospital. We know nothing about these men. We don't know what kind of legacy they might leave behind. We do know that whatever else they did will be overshadowed by the futility of their deaths. And that's when Logan calls Cyd to tell her that he doesn't like what he sees. It is the truth, but I don't think the root cause is something Cyd can fix.

Oooo anyway I just remember why I Hate and Loathe the big High Lord meeting in ACOWAR and why it fully cements SJM in my Worst Authors category for like a billion reasons
1. Feyre refuses to bow to the Dawn Court. Weird choice and completely fucking awkward to read - I guess this is meant as some kind of Girlboss Moment - like "no, I won't bow to the stinky old fashioned MEN!!!! who run this world. My super hot boyfriend gave me this title and I'm the master of the universe now." But it's... childish. Also? Way to disrespect Thesan but this is going to become a pattern because of course the gay Asian High Lord has no special powers apart from super good healing that literally every other character can accomplish, and of course he's gentle, and passive (ultimately willing to "bow [to Rhysand] if the other [High Lords] will") and of course his lover has no name and never speaks. Great! Hate it.
2. Morrigan and Vivian. On paper this seems interesting as far as a relationship goes like - what kind of interesting Court relations did Night have pre Amarantha and can those bonds be salvaged? But instead of asking those questions the scene decides to immediately undercut Vivian's character as a badass general and warrior who defended Winter in her childhood friend/future husband's absence by making her squeal like a literal 13 year old when the Night Court - who is suspected of murdering 24 children - shows up. Vivian proceeds to throw a fit and snarks about wanting to be a High Lady. Rip Vivian we hardly knew ye.
3. Do I even need to talk about Helion being the worst bisexual rep. Do I even need to say it. Good lord.
4. Do I even need to talk about Fantasy China and Helion being allied with the Faerie Confederates. Do I even need to explain this. It gets worse, somehow!
5. Tamlin and Tarquin actually have a case against allying with the Night Court given literally everything that happened in the last two books but this isn't painted as reasonable distrust of a group of lying backstabbing sycophants who purposefully play up their cruelty and keep secrets from the other Courts. No, of course not. Tarquin immediately forgives the Night Court because he has no backbone whatsoever apparently. Tamlin is considered unreasonable for not trusting Feyre and Rhys, who have continuously tried to hurt him and his people and undermine his authority as High Lord.
6. Everyone immediately forgets that Rhysand worked for Amarantha for 50 years and distrusts Tamlin, who has worked for Hybern for all of five minutes and also brings tons of information on their troop movements and positions, confirming that all of his so called alliance was a fraud and he's been spying on them the whole time.
7. Literally the whole fucking deal with the Winter Court. Like I'm sorry that Rhys is so sexual traumatized by Amarantha but children fucking died in a horrible, gruesome way that now, nobody can be accountable for. This is on my top 3 of most egregious SJM retcons because I'm supposed to believe that some daemati we've never heard of before, is never mentioned or seen again, is supposedly the missing link to absolve Rhysand of the fact that he murdered 24 children in book one and devastated the Winter Court. Give me a fucking break. And Feyre gets so SAD and hurt when Rhys says he was confined to Amarantha’s bedroom, but I guess dead kids in Winter and Spring are just the price you pay for loving a morally gray bryonic hero uwu. I'd say, "Get fucked," but i think Rhys and Feyre would enjoy that too much.
8. When the Autumn Court says mean things it makes them irredeemable, but when Azriel and Feyre break all the rules of magic and physically retaliate and hurt other people, it's a-okay, and totally justified! Oh, the Lady of Autumn (another unnamed, sad silent [white] victim who only exists for Helion to angst over) gets hurt by virtue of being a bystander? Totally cool and normal, and since she's been a victim of domestic violence before, it means that she's a secret good guy who will totally understand and forgive Feyre for her totally justifiable outburst. Fuck off.
9. Feyre speaking to and ordering Azriel around like a literal rabid dog. Do I even need to explain this and why its bad. Do I even need to say it.
10. This scene was a joke and everything about it was a stinking trash fire.

🌑Creepypastas Personalities and things they do in my eyes🌑
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🫀 Eyeless Jack is very stoic, not showing much emotion ever. If he has to, for example if he helps to calm down Sally he’ll show concern. But outside of the mansion he never shows emotion. He’s kind when he wants to be, and isn’t completely heartless. If a pasta that he particularly likes is sick than he’ll go out of his way to check on them and grabbing something they need and once his sees that they’re okay he’s gone. If one of the proxies gets hurt in the field? He’s actually throwing a fit that they should be more careful. He’s one of those types of people where he gets mad when someone’s hurt because he couldn’t stop them from it, but he’ll never admit it.
🌲 Slenderman I see as a father figure for everyone. He’s is like a single dad. With the help of two out of his 3 brothers (offenderman is seen as a disgrace to his family’s name and unfit to be around children, especially Sally) He lets the kids (the grown adults that most of them are) rant if they want and tries to have fun with them. He understands that almost all of them didn’t have good childhoods and he feels bad. That’s why he keeps taking them in, having them promise to work for him. Once they say yes, he takes them in and the mansion grows another room (or tombs as I like to call them) 🎮 Ben is pretty nice. Sure, he’s snarky sometimes but he’s a kid. What do you expect? Plus he stays in his room most of the time or he’s hanging out with Jeff. He sees some of the other proxies as his siblings, but he’ll never admit it. Never in a billion years. He’d rather go swimming. Slender does have to trick him into showering because of how scared of water he is. Don’t ask me how bc I dunno. Personally, I would just spray him with a hose. But I digress
🧸 Sally is the average little girl, but she gets angry easily. I’m not sure where people got the notion that she wouldn’t be an angry restless spirit but that’s their opinion and it’s valid too. I feel like she’s usually nice and kind like everyone says but if she sees offenderman or anyone she deems a threat she can and will throw one of her “fits” where she makes the house rumble and she throws things towards the threat. She’s done it because she saw a spider. 🔪 Jeff is an ass. Period. But he does see the creepypastas as some sort of family. He’ll never admit it either. He makes fun of everyone because that’s how he shows affection. The only person who recognizes that is liu, his brother, who says nothing. Slender tries his best to just leave the kid alone, if he’s behind honest he’s kinda worried about him, but he says nothing. Jeff also is really smart he just never uses his brain so no one knows that.
🐍 liu is shy and quiet. Doesn’t really like talking to many of the proxies so he just keeps to himself. He only ever talks to slenderman and masky really. Sometimes he’ll have a chat with his brother, but he and his brother don’t have a very good relationship. He’s very cuddly when he wants to be and only when he wants to be. He loves a good book. Usually true crime books or something with a good plot. He doesn’t like romance novels because it reminds him too much of who he lost. He tries to be as optimistic as possible, but sometimes it’s hard for him.
🍬 LJ is giddy and goofy, always cracking weird jokes. He has learned over time what everyone’s sense of humor is so he’ll make jokes based off of that. Have dark humor? Dark jokes. Have dad humor? He’ll crack a good dad joke. Deep down he likes making people laugh still, he just doesn’t wanna be laughed at. He’s the one who hangs out with Sally the most when slenderman isn’t around because 1. He has the same childlike wonder and 2. Slenderman thinks he’s funny enough to keep that little ball of energy occupied long enough to not run off into the woods and find some poor hiker and scare the soul outta them.
🪓 Toby is kinda a mix of quiet and a fuck. He likes being nice to some people when he wants and then he’ll be a dick to others. I have a headcanon that he has BPD so that’s why he constantly switches between being nice and acting like you murdered his cat in cold blood. Usually he’s pretty nice and knows how to control it most of the time but it gets the better of him. He is also very good friends with Ben and Jeff, being nicer to Ben and meaner to Jeff. I don’t think he’d hang out with Masky and hoodie too often, but that’s just my opinion.
🚬 Masky’s just plain “I don’t want to talk to you leave me alone.” Never has liked talking never will like it. He has exceptions for certain people like Hoodie and Slenderman. Sometimes he’ll talk to liu because he’s actually one of the more chill proxies and leaves people alone unless they want to talk to him. You could also probably find him smoking outside or sitting outside Slenderman’s office because he feels important when he’s near him. 🍁 Hoodie is the opposite of Masky. Wanna talk? He’s so down. Loves talking about everything and anything. If there’s a mission, though? He stays quiet. Doesn’t talk. He’s laser focused. it’s like he has 2 different personalities.
⚕️ nurse Ann seems like the type that likes taking care of people. She is a nurse after all. She just doesn’t like men very much, considering what happened to her. She trusts most of the proxy boys not to do anything, but if they do then she doesn’t let them near her again. She gives off lesbian vibes and I kinda headcanon that she is dating or best friends with Jane. After missions she’ll patch up the people that need it and I think she’d have her own little infirmary tucked in the corner of the mansion with everything she could possibly need.
🖤 Nina is the perfect example of an extrovert. She’s so hyped up and excited that she gives Sally a run for her money. Contrary to popular belief I think she’d be pretty good friends with Jane. They both got their heart broken by Jeff but Nina continues to try and get him to love her. She likes baking and playing games with all the proxies. Sure she’s seen as annoying but she’s really one of the only extroverted people in the manor.
🕷️ Jane is quiet and kind. She likes to help where she can. I see her as religious to some extent? Not a woman of god per say but a different religion. I feel like she would be pagan and have an altar of some sort to some kind of deity. She is usually in the library reading some sort of book or bringing a book from there to the infirmary to read to Ann.

Prelims, Vote 1 of 8
The top 4 finales will move on to be included in the main bracket
Propaganda is under the cut, may include spoilers
Agent Carter - 2.10 Hollywood Ending
Just as Peggysous became canon, just as Jack is about to start his redemption arc, they cancelled the show and left all of us on a massive cliffhanger for, let's see, almost 8 years at this point. We need ANSWERS.
Daybreak - 1.10 FWASH-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
It was written as a cliffhanger for a second season that would never come, but it just felt flat. The one objective that our leading lad (Josh) had been chasing (saving Sam) was rendered pointless, because the moment the big bad was defeated she effectively declared herself the new big bad and everyone who wasn't a major character went 'hmmm, okay!' And accepted it! They didn't even address this all that well, just ended with a shot of the MCs looking shocked.
Doctor Who - 12.10 The Timeless Children
this finale is shit!! absolute ass! nothing happens in it for it to justify having such a cool name. the master captures the doctor, shows her a slideshow that amounts to ‘‘you’re adopted!! :)" doctor breaks out of her matrix prison thing by overloading it with memories when the matrix is The Supercomputer and it’s used to hold all memories of all time lords ever? you know, the species whove been doing their thing for a billion years and live up to 10,000 years? the doctors new memories should either already be there or make nary a dent in it. the doctor’s like ‘‘why would they do that! why would they lie?’’ girl they have been lying to you since forever. they killed you once. theyve tried to kill you so many times. they turned you into a fucked up anti time monster that one time. one of the doctors past past selves even told her it doesnt really matter!! what was even the point
Loki - 1.06 For All Time. Always.
The series was going downhill past Episode 3 tbh, but it really just was a load of crap only interested in setting up the multiverse
Tales of Arcadia - Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans
This finale undoes everything the show worked for. In order to give itself stakes it kills off a few characters, but in a way that only indirectly impacts the MCs (such as Jim's Mom's fiancé getting killed). Then, at the end of the special, the main character uses time travel to go back to the start of S1E01 and changed history so he never becomes the trollhunter. Instead he makes his next friend the trollhunter instead. In terms of anticipation it was not at all what anyone was anticipating. (I had assumed he'd go to the start of the special and defeat the titans without any casualties). Having undone time only he remembers the previous timestream and he makes no effort to engage with it outside of accepting his changeling principal far sooner.
Ted Lasso - 3.12 So Long, Farewell
This trash ass finale undid three seasons of character development for every single person involved (except Nate!). A long-distance parent returned "home" despite having no attachments besides his child and leaving behind his entire found family, an abused and neglected woman was left behind by the person who taught her she didn't deserve abuse and neglect, and two characters who spent the whole show learning to cooperate and care for each other got into a fistfight over the girl they both dated.
Torchwood - 3.05 Day Five
No propaganda submitted

how the bachelors would react to getting a squishmallow || headcanons
they would love anything given to them by their favorite farmer <3
warnings: mostly just cute, slice-of-life <3 lots of images ahead
requested by: meeee, i got bored and wanted to write something so here this is lmao.
Tumblr media
alex
Tumblr media
• You HAD to give him Mario, just look at him! He's a Dusty look alike, and you know how much Alex cares about his dog. Plus, his parents want him to be an architect, but he's a pastry chef! How cool is that??
• Alex was excited when he saw the Squishmallow, smiling like an idiot when he wrapped his arms around it. He didn't really care about the tag, he just smooshed it close to his chest. He loved how soft it was, and knowing that you thought of him when you saw it made him incredibly happy.
• Will NOT admit that he sleeps with it every night. He has way too much pride for that. However, when you walk into his room and see him scrambling to put it somewhere else, it's an adorable sight.
• “How'd you find one that looks like Dusty? That's so cool! Thanks, I've gotta pay you back somehow!”
elliot
Tumblr media
• Eiko the Octopus was the best one that you could think of for Elliot. Look at how esteemed his is! Profession aesthetic paired with romantic touches? That's Elliot if I've ever seen him!
• Of course, Elliot would cherish anything that you give him. This was no different, he saw it as if it were the greatest thing on planet Earth. He held it, showered it with praises and kisses, along with you.
• He has it placed on his writing desk, next to anything else you give him. However, he often talks to him. It's a better substitute for talking to himself, and he even refers to Eiko by name! Eiko is one of his best friends, and he is so grateful you blessed him with Eiko's presence.
• “Does this plotline sound stupid, Eiko? It's a romance novel, but it's set five billion years into the future, and the whole world has re set at this point? No, no- you're right. It IS stupid. Back to the drawing board ... Darling, don't come in here yet!”
harvery
Tumblr media
• Dr. Hoot is perfect for Harvey. He is so adorable, and he's such a good doctor! Dr. Hoot and Dr. Harvey are perfect pals, and you're not allowed to keep them separated for two long!
• Harvey didn't really expect a gift, and he couldn't help but blush when you gave him such a thoughtful one. “Oh my- thank you! This is ... this is fantastic- you didn't have to do this, sweetie!”
• He keeps him on the top shelf in his office, far away from people's touch but close enough so that he can be seen. He doesn't want germs all over him, but he wants to help people calm their nerves! He does bring him down with the children, though. Dr. Hoot is a hit with them!
• He brings him down from the shelf at night and carries him to bed, making sure to wash him beforehand if he's been touched at all. It makes him smile, knowing that you care about him just as much as he cares about you.
sam
Tumblr media
• It's Pep the Pizza. Look at him and all of his glory. He's a delivery driver, delivering himself? You don't know, but you and Sam will certainly have late night discussions about the topic! He also loves music, just like Sam! It's a perfect match.
• When you present the Squishmallow to Sam, his eyes light up with childlike wonder. He immediately starts reading the tag, reading it allowed slowly and understanding who this awesome slice of Pizza is. He's absolutely thrilled!
• He will absolutely throw it at you if you aren't paying attention, smacking you on the side of the face. This of course turns into a pillow fight, or more like a food fight? Who knows?
• “Why does he deliver pizza? Does he deliver himself? Or is he a cannibal, cooking his fellow pizzas? You let a criminal in my house, I can't believe you! ... eh, it's okay. He's delicious, so he can stay.”
sebastian
Tumblr media
• Look at Stump, his perfect for anyone with a darker aesthetic. Perfect for Sebastian! It matches perfectly with his vibe, and his name is Stump. Straight to the point, look at him go!
• When you give it to Sebastian, he can't help but smile as he holds it, squishing it around. He can't stop looking between you and it, before hugging you. Stump is DEFINITELY incorporated in cuddle time, shoved between you two, making cuddles even more comfortable! Absolutely perfect.
• “This is really thoughtful, thank you ...” his face is super flushed and he can barely speak. He has short circuited. He loves any sweet gestures from you, and this was so thoughtful. He can't get over how cute you are.
• Robin has probably come down to his room to see the Squishmallow laying on his bed, which she asked about with a laugh. She knew about you, but she just had to tease her son. However, she was happy her son was with someone so loving.
shane
Tumblr media
• If you don't give Shane a chicken, have you even played the game? You have to go with Reed, he's realistic, he's ... a chicken. Plus, he just has that vibe, y'know? That's a Shane chicken, definitely.
• When you said you had a gift for him, he just looked in your direction quietly. He wasn't expecting much, or anything valuable at all, but when you pulled Reed out ... he was really happy about it. He didn't expect something so sweet. He really liked it, you could tell by how he just stared at it with a slight grin.
• “This is ... nice, thank you. I wasn't expecting anything like this, but ... I appreciate it,” he said slowly, looking into your eyes. He's trying to communicate and show his affection. His trying his hardest.
• If Jas is having a nightmare, he'll pull out Reed to help her feel better. Of course, he'll ask for it back when she's feeling better. If she really really needs one, he'll buy one for her so that she'll have her own! She calls it twinsies, he calls it an extremely late birthday present.

So Let's Talk About Warner Bros Discovery Burning Down HBO Max for the Insurance Money
Tumblr media
Okay real quick for those of you who don't know who I am: I"m Jake, I review animation on this fair blog sometimes on comission (which is open by the way) , and mostly just because I want to. I love all kinds of stuff from comics, to comic strips, to movies, and review all kinds in turns. I"m telling you this so you have full and proper context as to why Warner Bros Discovery's latests actions have been HELL on my anxiety. While this week has been a hard one for reasons that aren't your buisness, Warner just made it so much worse so rather than do three reviews this week, i'm doing two and this piece, outlying why I"m so nettled, why I no longer feel any security for anything warner has going , in production or otherwise, and why WBD sucks dirty ass in thunderstorms.
Let's begin with what's going on for those in the back who haven't heard: Last week Warner Bros Discovery made the earthshatteringly dumb decision to cancel their 40 million dollar Batgirl film, and not release it in any way shape or form as a tax write off as well as announcing they were canceling several other dc projects with the Arrowverse finally being taken out back and shot with the Flash getting canceled and given a smal lseason to wrap up (and Superman and Lois likewise detatching from said universe for it's own saftey), and just about every DC Project now in fear of being cut, paticuarlly the tv shows. The Flash MOVIE is weirdly exempt from this despite starring known human dumpster fire whose progressively spiraling Erza Miller. Granted they ARE getting help, so it might help, but it still feels odd to not drop THAT movie but drop one by people who have done absoltuely nothing wrong and is almost finished. And by odd I mean...
Tumblr media
So yeah a 40 billion dollar diverse, great looking film is in limbo, any dc film that hasn't started shooting is in the firing range. While I do feel the DCEU badly needed an actual structure instead of just doing whatever movie without any real plan. But
Tumblr media
Is somehow worse than no strategy. But there does seem to be SOME method to the madness here.. unfortunatley said method, as most perfectly put by my surrogate tv dad John Oliver "It seems like your trying to burn down my platform for the insurance money"
Tumblr media
That does seem to be WBD's plan: Liquidate as much as possible, put as much of it as a tax writeoff as you can, and to hell with what comes next. There's no building going on here, just madly selling anything they can to make money. Which admitely I have done, I once had to sell off my entire 3ds collectoin to get buy, but i'm a 30 year old man with the body of an orangutan, not a BILLION dollar company that should know better. Even if Discovery is new at running this type of company, they seem more concerned with making as much money as possible and don't care if they actually surivive as a platform, if works of art surivive, or for anything other than getting a huge kickback.
And that brings me to today, the worst news in recent animation history. And keep in mind that history includes: 1. Disney cancelling the critically aclaimed and briliant owl house because it was too gay and trying to pretend that's not why they did it 2. Netflix's Childrens Content slowly collapsing into the sea with one or two exceptions. 3. Sex Monster John Lassiter somehow getting another job and a new movie AppleTV+ feels comfortable promoting. 4. The passing of Betty White, Ed Asner and Gilbert Gottfried
But yes HBO Max decided to delist a TON of his content. While ti hasn't happened yet and the backlash, and a recent blow to their stock due to this bullshit as a rare instance of corprate greed biting them, MIGHT stop it, it might be too late. The shows being chopped include Close Enough, a show they had just canceled a week ago and now decided no one can enjoy and that was not only one fo the platforms lead shows, but it's only adult animated comedy that didn't make people throw things at it on sight, Infinity Train, a show people were already mad was screwed out of more than four seasons, Ok KO Let's Be HEroes, one of the best cartoons of the 2010s, Mao Mao Heroes of Pure Heart which was stuck in cancelation limbo, and victor and Valentino, which I have not watched but is JUST going through season 3 as we speak. None of it makes sense, none of it is right and all of it is clearly a ploy to mak ea tax writeoff. And while previous managment had done this, there was a simliar incident iwth greats such as megas xlr and sym boinoic titan, never before has a company made material not only unavablaibe but so nakedly tried to claim something as a loss. I'm HOPING this bs dosen't fly in court, as none of these shows really are the net loss they thinkt hey are, paticuarlly close enough and infinity train, so none of this should add up, but i'm not holding my breath.
I'm also not holding my rage. I belivie in works being avaliable to people. Good or bad, as long as their not harmful , they should be out there and avaliable. Things should be preserved. And making it so several shows are just outright unwatchable, JUST so you can make money is one of the most greedy, discpiable, hateful and agonizing acts i've seen in some time. OK KO thankfully escapes thanks to being on hulu, but that may not be forever and they may try this shit with other platforms. For once most of these shows being on netflix in other countries is a lifesaver. And yes you can still find the stuff that's being taken on the internet, piracy can be bad but it can also be a way to preserve stuff, but I should be able to have a legal and fine means of watching Close Enough. I shoudln't hav eto scour for a show just because you want money. I'm still subscribed to hbo max as it's not me who does and it still has enough content.. but if they keep doing this scorched earth nonsense, it's going to leave them with nothing to sell and nothing to buy and no one to buy into thei rshit. and i'm hoping they learn their lesson and ease back before it's too late and one of the best platforms in the streaming wars is gone.
For now though all I can do is wait and hope like hell more things I care about don't die a cruel greedy death.
