#the frog and the scorpion
Text
it is in my nature.
a scorpion, not knowing how to swim, asked a frog to carry it across the river.
you know how this story ends, no?
it is in the frog’s nature to swim, and in the scorpion’s nature to sting.
it is mortal nature to die.
Do you ever wonder, if the scorpion wished it could change?
Do you wonder what it thought as it went down,
“please, please, I’m sorry, I can’t help it, I don’t wanna kill you,
I don’t wanna die.”
Stupid, stupid, stupid. If only the frog didn’t help.
Do it again.
a scorpion, not knowing how to swim, asked a frog to help it cross a stream.
no, no, no, it’s all the same.
again.
a scorpion, not knowing how to swim, asked a frog to help it cross a raging storm.
it ends the same way.
you will never be free.
again.
i cannot swim. I ask you to help me cross a raging river.
Stop it! Let me drown this time!
you kind, stupid frog. why must you help me across every time?
it is in my nature.
Why couldn’t it be in mine?

something something aziraphale and crowley are the scorpion and the frog, both simultaneously, and it’s just their nature and they’ll always cross the river and be doomed except that even though every universe begs them to sting and thrash and drown, there’s no universe in which they don’t make it to the bank, disembark from one another’s backs, embrace, and continue on hand in hand.

Don't be either one.
Is the point, I think.

" Once there was a flood in the forest. A frog was resting on the river bank. A scorpion stuck in the floods requested the Frog, "Please help me cross the river!" Thee frog asked, "What if you sting me?" The Scorpion replied, "Silly, if I sting you then we will both drown. Why would I kill myself? The Frog believed the Scorpion and let him hop on his back. They began to cross the river but as soon as they reached the middle of the river, the Scorpion stung the frog. The Frog asked, "Why did you do that?" The Scorpion said, "I am a Scorpion, stinging is what I do. It is in my nature." Some men are scorpions, dear. They never change, Badru. "

a scorpion, not knowing how to swim, asked a frog to carry them across the river.
"of course!" the frog replied.
the scorpion hopped on the frog's back, except they were confused from this act of kindness
"why are you helping me? you do know I could kill you."
"are you only helping me because if I sting you I will drown?"
"well no actually", the frog said.
"I am helping you because I do not care if I die, scorpion."
the scorpion was shocked, how could this frog not care about their life?
"do you care if I die?"
"of course I do! why wouldn't I?" the frog said, as if it was considered normal to value a random life more than yours.
"so if I were to sting you, would you still want me to cross the river..?"
"yes I would." why was this frog so caring with a deadly and dangerous scorpion?
"this isn't how the story is supposed to be!" the scorpion cried
"well why shouldn't it? why shouldn't I care for you?"
"because I am the antagonist of the story! I should sting you, or you should throw me off!"
"if you did sting me though, it would be because of your nature my dear scorpion. I would still love you even if you stung me and swam away!"
"why would you love me frog? for I am your grim reaper, not your lover! we aren't even the same species, any sane animal would hate me!"
"I guess I must be insane"
now they were at the end of the river, actually they had been there for quite a while. neither had killed the other, neither wanted to, and neither needed to.
eventually the scorpion got off the frog's back, tired of arguing about not caring for the other because they were their demise.
"remember scorpion, I will carry you across any body of water, even the arctic ocean. even if you sting me, I will forever love you darling."
and with everything, the scorpion still stung the frog, and as the frog said they still loved that scorpion.
all because of one's nature.

The weird thing about Rachel Zegler playing Snow White, isn't her not being white. It's her talking as if she hates the older thing.
Also, someone please tell her (and Gal Gadot who also missed the memo) that falling in love doesn't make you any less of a powerful woman. Mulan fell in love, Tiana fell in love, Esmeralda fell in love. And they are feminist icons.
