Hi there!

Hello! I would rather not have an introduction, but I guess I must, or else no one would have a clue what’s going on here. I won’t tell you anything about me, which I know sounds sketchy, but it’s for a reason. I am a writer who wants to express themselves on this platform, and maybe more in the future. I will write some short stories every-now-and-then and maybe even do a novel or two. You may be asking what I’m doing or why I’m here. Most of you are probably wondering who I am. well...I can’t give that away. At least not right now. I want to write what I want to write without people telling me what I can and cannot do because of who I am and my background. So, please, feel free to share my stories with others. All of them are my original works, so please do not plagiarize. Thank you and I hope you enjoy reading my stories.

I do not stare,

At her curves and curls.

I refrain from ogling,

At her assets.

I spare myself ravenous glances,

At her luscious and succulent lips.

The epitome of beauty she is

The citadel of shyness I am.

Frenzied passion,

Or Physical Attraction,

Is this love,

Or mere Infatuation.

All I wish,

Is to relax under the shade,

Of her cascading locks.

Resting my head,

On her lap,

And emblazon the serenity of this weather.

To embrace her,

To dispel her uncertainties,

And to hold her hand,

Amidst euphoric rains,

And desolate thunders.

To undress her conscience,

And make love with her thoughts.

The paragon of excellence she is,

A definite introvert I am.

A mystifying obsession,

Or a wounded abrasion,

Is this love,

Or mere infatuation.

I wish,

To drape myself,

In the meadows of her enchanting smiles,

Somber giggles and childish sobs.

To be crucified time and again,

By her killing snarls and snivels.

To remain buried in the aroma,

Of her clasped vivacity.

An impossible summit she is,

An obstinate challenger I am

An exquisite addiction,

Or an elegant aspiration,

Is this love,

Or mere Infatuation.

LIAR

*Liar*

"Everything will be all right.", I lie to myself. I do that a lot these days.

***

The woman who loves me more than anything else in the world holds me in her arms, caressing my cheek as her fingers make way to my torso, unbuttoning my shirt.

"One last time before you go", she whispers and smiles sadly. The lamps burn out but our passion does not. As I bid her goodbye, I see hope in her eyes.

I am good at lying.

My father's eyes shine with pride. He watches me as I scurry around the house, collecting my belongings, piling them in my bag.

"When will you come back?", I see a ghost of the same hope in his eyes, prompting me to lie again.

"Soon enough", I smile.

I reach the place I work at. I fondly remember calling it my 'Karmabhoomi' a few years ago. My co-worker looks up at me, with the same hope in his eyes. This is not something he and his newlywed had been prepared for.

"Will this be over soon?", he asks nervously.

"Yes.", I reply, trying to not be harsh on him for being a human.

The explosion near our camp is deafening. I run outside my tent, checking the harm done. The other Jawans do the same. It has started sooner than we had expected. Undeterred, we fight.

Two days, eight hours later, as I lie on the ground with no hope left, thirsty and hungry, waiting for either the enemies to find me or the friends to rescue what is left of me, I remember them, wondering if they know now. They would have known by the time I reached here, I make a guess. My lungs are tired, eyes weak. It's a wonder how I have managed to live at all.

"Everything will be all right.", I lie to myself, as I wait for dear death to come.
