You could hear your phone ringing. You weren't sure where exactly. You felt the natural urgency to pick your it up. You opened your eyes, squinting at the sunlight that leaked into your room. You answered the phone with a creaky little “Hello?” you asked. Flopping on your back.
The tiredness of waking up suddenly filled your body. “Y/n? ARE YOU STILL ASLEEP?” Tara’s voice shrills through your phone. You wince holding the phone away from your ear in pain. “Yes Tara, I WAS still asleep until you called me. I am still hungover… I think.” you said rubbing your eyes, you felt something weird on your hands so you looked at them only to reveal dried crusty makeup… Perfect!
Falling asleep with your makeup on is super cute. “Y/n! It's 2 pm! You have my party later! You can be hungover tomorrow, ok?” she said. You hear rattling sounds, she is presumably setting stuff up while calling you. You take the phone from your face to reveal it is, infact, 2:13 pm. You put the phone back up to your face, sighing.
“Yeah I remember, don't worry,” you mumbled, turning over. “Ok good, and take care of yourself seriously, eat like a salad of some shit,” Tara says as you let out a little giggle at her words. “Will do Tara,” you say, finally standing up and stretching.
“Bye y/n.” you hear her say before the call ends. “Mmmmm fuck.” you mumble to yourself rubbing your face, with your hands. You check your phone to see a text from Carrington asking if you are still collabing today.
“Damnit,” you mumble, pulling up the text chain. You confirmed the collaboration and suggested a video idea of streaming you guys trying the deli food from Erewhon for the first time. He agreed to the idea, you took a shower, got half ready, and filmed the stream with your friend.
All the comments talking about just how rough you looked were not helping your confidence any. You knew that they were joking but still. It didn't make you feel very good or very motivated to dress cute for the party tonight.
A party where Johnnie WOULD be. And as stupid as it was to admit you wanted to impress him so much. So after the video was filmed of eating shitty and overpriced food you managed to pull yourself together to get ready. Hoping back in a shower to shave and go the full nine yards.
You put on a damn cute outfit that was sure to earn a few edits from your fans. You did your makeup and hair to your liking and the night was looking up. You frizzed and messed with the last strand of your hair before snapping a picture for your Instagram story.
You were feeling a little mischievous and decided to put a song in the background as one of Johnnie’s. You picked “Angel of Death” since you helped him direct that one. You posted the black-and-white selfie and audibly giggled at the thought of seeing him within the next hour or so.
You hopped into an Uber and eventually made it to Tara’s party. The bright lights and music created a lively and bright atmosphere. You set your bag in Tara’s room and made your way through the living room saying hi to all your friends.
Managing to get to the rooftop where Tara and the rest of the gang were. “Heyyyy,” you said creeping up behind your short friend. “Y/n!” she shouts, wrapping her arms around you.
You get pulled into a tight and warm hug, smelling the alcohol on her breath. “Y/n, what's up?” Sam asked, looking up from his seat on a couch. Fairy lights and another speaker were set up outside.
There were a bunch of people all packed into the smaller space. “I'm good, what about you?” you ask, taking a cup from the table. “Were good were good. We just heard about you being a little hungover this morning from Tara.” Sam said, squinting as he took a sip of his drink.
You faked a look of offense as you looked at Tara. She has a giant grin making her hand into a heart as an apology. “Tsk tsk. I was not hungover! I was just recovering from one the previous day, ok?” you say in defense of yourself as you sit next to Johnnie and Colby.
“Well, that's not what we heard,” Colby said next to you, holding his hands up. “I was hungover yesterday and these two dumbasses forced me to try 7/11 pizza so yeah this morning was a rough time ok?” you say pointing to Jake and Johnnie.
Jake’s mouth flew open in offense. “Woah ok the Pizza was NOT that bad.” he grabbed a bottle of alcohol pouring some into his cup. Johnnie let out a dry laugh beside you, you turned to him smiling. “Ok, y/n we believe you. And you didn't wake up next to that server we saw mmmm?” Tara said, moving her shoulder a little.
“Hell no I didn't wake up next to no fucking server. You're one to talk by the way,” you said, sipping whatever was in your cup. “Whatever,” Tara says as you settle into the couch.
The air was cold but there were heat lamps surrounding the terrace. The next warmest thing was Johnnie's body. He was so close to yours that you could practically feel his heat radiating onto your skin. “Was the pizza that bad?” Johnnie whispered into your ear.
“No not really but Jake woke me up at the ass crack of dawn to stream that so,” you whispered back. You could smell his cologne and the smell of cigarette smoke on him. You know that smoking wasn't a good habit but fuck he did look hot when he did.
“Hey, it was like 11 when we filmed that. It was not that early ok?” he said back his voice louder this time. Not that anyone noticed. Everyone else was absorbed in their conversations at this point. You giggle slightly at his words.
Your eyes look up to meet his. It's hard under all his hair and messy eye makeup to see his bright blue eyes, but you manage. You stare into them for almost too long. You close your eyes forcing yourself to look away. You’re scared you might have never been able to look away if it wasn't for the fact you were both at a party with other people.
Including all of your and his friends who would tease you both if you were gazing into each other's eyes. “Hey, I was hungover that day, ok? 11 is way too fucking early to be up hungover.” you say in defense of yourself for what feels like the millionth time this night alone, downing whatever was in your cup.
You inhaled sharply feeling the roaring effects of the alcohol as it burned its way down your throat. “Yeah, that's completely fair,” Johnnie says, moving his head slightly to move his hair. You purse your lips together moving your body to face the group again.
Johnnie stays looking at you, his shoulders now completely blocking your view of Jake. Not that you were complaining of course. The night moved on, and you didn't drink a lot, not trying to upset your stomach further of course.
By now you, Jake, and Johnnie were all doing some shitty karaoke downstairs. You of course had picked a PTV song and were attempting to nail the notes. After your throat was sore you handed the microphone off to Jake and sat next to Johnnie once again.
Jake had picked some Billy Joel song he and was failing miserably. You and Johnnie were both giggling away at his antics. You pulled out your phone to record him. “Oh god are you actually gonna post that?” Johnnie asks with a grin.
“Duh. Probably just put it on my Instagram story,” you said nudging him slightly. There is a beat of silence between you two before Johnnie speaks again. “Is there a reason you posted your picture to my song?” Johnnie asked.
Your hands, which were still holding your phone, dropped slightly. You felt a rush of heat flood your face as your brain short-circuited. Trying to come up with an excuse for your random amount of boldness.
“Oh- I just- I-” you stuttered out turning the video off. You felt like a fish out of water flapping around for any excuse you could think of. And thank whatever god may exist as your prayers were answered as Jake handed the microphone to Johnnie.
“What? Dude, I'm not singing.” Johnnie said, looking at Jake’s hand holding the microphone. “Duuuude!” Jake says dramatically slouching down, feeling the obvious effects of the liquor. “Dude you're literally a singer,” you say looking at him, your eyebrow cocked up.
“I-” he starts to speak before looking at his friend and then at you. You nod your head in encouragement, he closes his eyes with a sigh. “Fine,” he mutters, grabbing the microphone. He takes a few seconds to queue up a song.
You don't record this time. Just laugh with your friends as Johnnie attempts to sing a song. His eyes catch yours for a moment, and his voice breaks and slowly stops working. It seems like time slows down only your heartbeat can be heard
It feels like for a few seconds your worlds combined. The eyes that were watching Johnnie apparently caught up to him as he suddenly looked around the room. He tries to pick up the pace of this song and fails miserably. Completely missing half the words.
Your breath catches in your throat and you decide you need a break. You swallow deeply, stand up and almost run out of the room. You weren't sure what you were doing, just that you felt like your insides were suffocating.
You made it to the kitchen grabbing an empty solo cup and filling it up with water. You gulped down a few drinks of it before sitting up on a counter. You wipe a drop of water that fell from your mouth as footsteps alert you someone walked into the kitchen.
You turn to see that Johnnie is slowly creeping into the room. “Hey,” you said looking back down at your feet that rested against the cabinet. “Hey,” he said, walking around the kitchen island facing you. “You okay?” he asked, leaning against the opposite counter as you.
“Y-yeah I'm fine. Just got a little intense back there I guess,” you said gesturing to the living room where we both just were. “Did you really wake up with that server?” he asks, barely able to keep eye contact.
You laugh slightly “God no.” you mutter out once again looking down. “Tara And Kat were making a bunch of jokes about it but I was never into him don't worry.” you say trying to laugh it off.
He doesn't say anything, just slowly getting closer to you. You looked up at him. You feel your eyes lock again.
You don't shy away this time. You let Yourself hold eye contact. That familiar feeling in your face travels back in. Your breaths move at similar paces as he slowly shares your space.
You tried to speak but no words came out. You're glad they don't truthfully. Johnnie's hand slowly comes up and meets your face, holding your chin. He moves in between your legs and pulls your face in for a kiss.
Your eyes flutter closed as your lips meet. You swear you could hear fireworks exploding in your brain. He was so so so close, but you needed him closer. The cup was long abandoned as your hands reached up to pull his face closer.
It seems to work as his whole body moves next to you, touching you. His hand, the other one that wasn't holding your face steady moves to hold himself on the counter.
You're not sure how long it was before you moved away from him for a breath. You feel the heat in your cheeks move down to your neck and chest and you look down. “Wanna get out of here?”

The first batch of pictures for Amoré's character journal are here! Also I have been so super sick that I've literally had nothing to do but to work on this for like almost 2 weeks so...
The cover to cover tour officially starts here. All I can say about the front & back is that I lament my lack of experience with my Cricut when I made these decals. I only had 2 "fun" colors to work with at the time & I was still getting comfortable drawing in Procreate, so my silhouette art leaves a lot to be desired compared to some stuff I've made recently. I also found it's incredibly easy to burn this leather book.
But she's volume one, everything with her is a learning experience, & I realized as much as it helps to have a mini heat press for tight corners & small spaces, the cloth barrier they suggest you use between the vinyl & the iron tends to make things harder to press on this scale. So instead I gotta quickly tap straight on the transfer film & hope I don't burn anything around it :(´◦ω◦｀):ﾟﾟ
So at the risk of thoroughly exposing my inner theater kid, Amoré set the precedent with how I went forward creating campaign characters. I started off collecting 5 songs to make a mini story arc (almost like a show choir set list 🙃) that helps me figure out an outline for the kind of story I wanna give them.
Somehow Amoré ended up with a truly horrendous blend of rock & theatre. Absolutely incredibe. No wonder she's always such a dramatic bitch.
It was a lot easier to go in & add little decals around these lyrics. I'm definitely cursed with the Too Much™ gene, but I enjoy the little pops of color they give ✨ plus it justifies me hoarding all these vinyl scraps printing stuff this small lol.
Stat sheet!
In all honesty, as my first character I had no fucking clue what I was doing when I placed these & if I could go back & change one thing I'd probably swap her Intelligence & her Wisdom. She’s definitely more people smart than book smart.
But everything else is...very accurate. She has all the upper body strength of a chicken nugget. Plus on top of the (already) negative I traded disadvantage on everything DEX for magic crystal shoes that can be periodically harvested. Just a way for her to carry around the family fortune without actually having to return to the vault✨
For something that started so average, her CON became a monster & always comes in clutch for her alcohol tolerance. I've played variations of her across a few different one shots & I always manage to roll well for anything alcohol related. The dice do respect a bit 🤣
Spells on the other hand, I floundered with a lot at first because we’re not a combat heavy game, but then I found Chaos Bolt & that was that. It’s essentially Amoré in spell form & I’ve had a ton of fun with it over the years. Also Mage Armor cuz my girl is SO DISTRESSINGLY SQUISHY.
Cantrips were more or less a bit of a toss up. Message was fun for the sheer idea of her using it to talk shit during social events without being caught. But aside from Light serving fun backstory purposes the other 3 are kinda just what looked fun ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ unless you count the idea that she would absolutely delight in zapping handshakes.
From there, I wanted to extend the world map made by our wonderful DM @cappierong into a full scroll. Ya know, for the aesthetic ✨
Our campaign started in Civania, where Amoré's main Estate is. I just wanted a quick mock up to reference, so I edited a preexisting picture I found that checked all the boxes (large, on a plateau, accessible only by bridge) and then absolutely smothered it in flowers.
But anyways... This is primarily where Diana & Amoré grew up together in their decade of backstory ✨
There was probably waaaay to much back & forth trying to keep the continuity between stuff I've already drawn & this big reference. But I think it turned out pretty ok? Not like if I make a mistake anyone will really know lol.
Scaling was also another big issue I had, & I moments where I thought something was too big I just kinda handwaved it away like "ehhhhh she's from a stupid rich family." But now I have a NEED to draw baby Diana & Amoré around like, the statue gardens or something cuz I feel like certain parts of this place are definitely ominous 👀 especially for children...
And lastly we have the back cover & the High Noble political relationship map! I normally have this closer to the front but for layout purposes it'll be here. I kinda feel like I need to do more for the decoration of it but I can’t think of anything else to add at the moment.
Sam if u read that no you didn't.
But now! Other than a family portrait that I've always wanted to draw, I think I'm ready to move onto the art for Season 1 : Arc 2. It's a pretty hefty amount of art in comparison to others, so I gotta get busy. Especially since I think I'm gonna have to draw a few comics *sobs*

Top 5 QL shows you feel flew under the radar and no one talks about despite them being top tier
Ok. I don't always know what's under the radar or not. So I'm just gotta talk about my favourites that a lot of people haven't watched. Also this list will be incredible bias towards one country, because it's me, and I need everyone to know about all these stories, because I love them.
The Day I Loved You
Starting with the one that it's not like the others. And I know this one definitely qualifies as under the radar because I've been making these gif sets and they are basically only for me and one other person on here. Not complaining because I love this show and my bestie @twig-tea enjoys them as well. I adore them. And I know it's not the usual fluffy bl but it's gorgeous. So I wish more people would watch it. And there's really no excuse since it's on Youtube.
Seven Days
My very first bl. I think everyone should watch it. Cause it's perfect. Except for the hair I guess. But even that I kinda like. If anyone watches bl and has not seen this one - shame on you. I say this with love, of course. But really, everyone should watch it.
Life: Love on the Line
I love this film so much. I've watched too many times to count.This one came right after Seven Days. They love each other so much it hurts me and Akira's journey was painful but incredible to watch. And Yuki's smile is just otherworldly. Look at them on their line. 😢
What Did You Eat Yesterday?
Did you say top tier? Look no further. This show is incredible. My heart fills up just from looking at this gif. They are beautiful and I'm forever grateful that I found this show.
Kabe-Koji Desires to be Recognized
I fell in love with Mamoru at first sight. And immediatly after with the whole show. It's just Japan being Japan. Chaotic but kind. Characters that are so full of empathy that it makes my heart burst.
One more because I must include this one in all the lists
She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat
PERFECTION.

Hi! I'm currently studying how to write horror for an assignment i have. I wanted to ask a few questions to you if it isn't a problem :>
1)When writing psychological horror, what should i keep in mind? Like, idk if you played ddlc, but i really like the slow descent into madness the game has, any tips on translating that into writing?
2) Any tips in how to install a false sense of security into the reader?

Hi! Sorry for the delayed response, I've had kind of a crazy week. I hope this still gets to you in time to be helpful for your assignment :)
I think there are a few things that are especially important to consider with psychological horror:
Uncertainty. It helps a lot to leave things ambiguous. You need to explain enough to be satisfying and prevent confusion, but no more. Leaving unanswered questions, and leaving a lot of room for speculation about what's happening, is important.
A slow burn is important. You want to spend a fair bit of time really getting to know the characters and getting invested in them before things start to really ramp up. The trick is to sloooowly increase the tension by introducing more and more incongruous elements and uncertainty/weirdness with increasingly big stakes, right up until a crescendo where the dam breaks. DDLC does this really well imo. It lures you in at first with its false premise and aesthetic, makes you wonder "Ok, where is this headed?", then punches you in the face before descending into chaos.
Once you actually hit the chaos stage of the psychological horror, don't be afraid to go big. If you've set up your slow-burn right, you can afford to get really dramatic or even dip into melodrama territory.
As for a false sense of security, one thing that can work really well is if, pretty early on, you provide your characters with a simple, reasonable explanation that could explain everything. Except, of course, that it's wrong. The key to making this work is the explanation doesn't *quite* fit reality. It has to sound more like a rationalization. Something that's, like, 80% right but just doesn't...quite...cover everything. The trick to THAT is you have to make sure the rationalization doesn't make your characters seem like idiots. (for example: doors that keep being unlocked when you're sure you locked them can be rationalized in all sorts of ways. knives flying through the air, not so much. If your character is standing in the kitchen with knives flying at her face saying, "oh, haha, it's just the wind!" that's not going to feel terribly plausible)
Hope that helps! Some psychological horrors I can recommend that you might enjoy:
The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters. A gothic horror/haunted house story, except the house isn't haunted quite the way you expect it to be.
A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay. Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay is also perfect.
Not a book, but the film Smile is a good recent psychological horror. Skinamarink is too, although it's kind of hit-or-miss whether you'll like it since it's an experimental, non-narrative film.

“Tom are you sure?” You say nervously, Tom pressing a slight kiss to your hand, “Yes love, I promise you will be fine,”
Tom has pulled a few strings for you to be on The Crowed Room set with him.
You watch him be made up by make up and Hair artists, then see him film some of the scenes. You let out a giggle as you see him run.
You sat with Harry, mostly talking to him, while watching Tom. You wasn’t completely along, which was good!
“Cut, Tom move a bit to your left, I need extras to walk behind you in the background,” The director shouted, across the set.
Tom and the other people moved, “Take 2 Action,” starting the scene again to make it better.
You spent Time with Tom on his break, laughing at his jokes. Some fans walk passed the set as it is in the centre of New York.
Other than that, it is peaceful and relaxed.
“You ok? sweetheart,” Tom smiles, brushing his hand against your thigh under the table to comfort you, “Yes, are you?” You smile.
“Yes, always with you,” he replied, sweetly.
Tom went back to filming after his break.
“Hey, Y/N,” Harry called your name out, “Here is a dress for you from Tom and a jacket plus shoes,” He gave you, passing the items.
“What is this, Exactly?” You questioned, holding the items in your hands.
“Did he not tell you?” Harry shows a shock expression.
“No, tell me what? Why has he got a dress for me?” You ask, curiously.
“Tom has set a reservation for you both at some restaurant in New York City,” He told you, “You can change in the dressing room,”
“Oh ok, thank you,” You nodded, walking into the dressing room and closing the curtain to change.
“No problem,” Harry smiled.

It is around 7pm where you and Tom sit down at a restaurant, looking at each other in delight.
“This looks fancy,” You giggle, “I wanted to treat you, Darling,” Tom winked, teasing you.
Tom grabs the wine bottle, popping off the cap, pouring a wine for you “Ladies first,” he smiles giving you the glass.
“Thank you, such a gentleman,” you giggle.
“You are one of a kind Tom,” You smile, Tom nods pouring his own drink and then taking your hand and rubbing it under the table, “So are you, beautiful! Thank you for supporting me, it means a lot,”
Tom takes a sip of the wine with you.
“Of course, Tom! I’m not going to do anything but support and love you,” You replied sincerely, looking into his beautiful, warm, honey, brown eyes. 
“Sir and Madam, here is your plates. Would there be anything else you would require?” The servant bowed to you, “No thank you,” Tom spoke up, the servant nodded, “Have a goodnight,”
“You too,” You and Tom nodded to him.
“It looks delicious,” You licked your lips taking a knife to cut into your dish, “Just like you then, Darling,” Tom being cheeky told you.
“My Word, Thomas,” You gasped, giggling.
“What? It’s true,” Tom smiles to his eyes, taking a bite from his dish, “But the food, does taste good!”
“Your full of complaints, aren’t you, Tommy,” You smirk, “Yes,” he mumbles.
“I see that your wearing the dress, I bought you. Do you like it?” Tom asked, “Yes, actually it fits well and it’s comfortable,”
“That’s good, you look beautiful, Love,” Tom whispers, over the table, “How romantic, Tom with your hushed words,” You smile as you take another bite of your meal.
“Of course,” Tom laughs.
“You don’t look too bad, yourself!” You look up to him, taking a drink of your wine, “You look handsome,” you mumble.
“Thank you, love,” Tom put his hand on your thigh under the table, “Can’t get enough of your compliments, Blossom!” He winks, teasing.
“Me neither,” You smirked back.

Tom takes your hand to stand up after paying for your meal. You exit the restaurant with Tom, hand in hand as cameras flash from paparazzi.
“Guys, can you step back, Thank you,” Tom asked, as he stood in front of you.
“It’s ok, Darling,” Tom whispers, rubbing your hand as he guides you through the crowd.
He lets you get in the car first, “You want to have a walk around New York? Petal,” holding your thigh to comfort you.
“Yes, that would be nice,” you kiss his cheek, “Your so sweet, Darling,” Tom smiles back, kissing your cheek back.
“Says yourself,” you tease.
The driver took you to another part of the city, as you got out of the car. Tom helped you as the car was so high up.
“You good?” Tom asked, you nodded.
“Thanks,” Tom put his hand up to the driver as you two walk away on the street.
“Did I tell you how beautiful, you are tonight!” Tom smiles as he takes your hand into your own, keeping you away from the road.
“I don’t know, maybe you should tell me again?” You asked, cheekily.
“Well, Darling! You do, You really do look Beautiful,” Tom complimented you again as you took a turn into the lighted street.
“ok, Mr.Holland,” You giggle, “Look at the pretty lights, they are beautiful!” You gushed.
“Just like you,” Tom leaned in whispering into your ear.
“Tom, stop your making me blush and I swear some people are taking pictures,” You whisper back, leaning in more as you walk.
“Mm, let them! Your so pretty, to photograph!” Tom winked, “Although, they won’t ever get the best part of you,”
“Oh, my god!” You giggle, “I’m sure, I’m bright red,”
“None the less, beautiful!” Tom smirked, kissing your cheek.
“They definitely, got a picture of you kissing my cheek,” you laugh, leaning into the crook of his neck.
“Come here, get closer! I have to protect you Darling,” Tom says as he pulls you closer, now his arm has wrapped around your waist as you walk.
“Such a gentleman,” You tease, knowing that it is the full truth.
“Hush, you love it,” Tom chuckles, rubbing your side.
“As I do,” You reply, looking at him in his eyes.
“Did you have a good date?” Tom asked, “Of course, anything with you is good,” You mumbled
“I booked a hotel, it’s 5 mins from here,” Tom smirks, to your reaction.
“No, you didn’t!” You gasped, “Tom Stanley Holland,” smiling.
“Love, I actually did! Just for me and you,” Tom surprised you as you walk more to see the hotel.
“Tom,” You smile, “Your amazing, best boyfriend ever!”
“I do try, love but I’m glad you love the surprise,” Tom kisses your head.
“Let’s go into our room,” he winks at you, leading you into the hotel.

giffing tutorial
hiii so here's a walkthrough on how to make your gifs clean, crisp, and colorful :-) it's literally so much fun, it's one of my favorite hobbies, i hope y'all enjoy too!!
first off here's what you're going to need
photoshop
this gif sharpening automation
a clip you want to gif! preferably in the highest resolution you can find, 1080p is generally my minimum
adobe premiere (optional, but nice to have only for step 1)
let's get started!
step 1: creating your clip
first off, we need a shorter clip than the average tv episode or movie length. choose a scene or shot you'd like to gif. for this tutorial, i'll be giffing a scene from NOPE (2022) as an example.
now, this next part is semi-optional, it just depends on how smooth you want your gifs to be and what access you have to other platforms.
most movies and TV shows are filmed at a framerate of 23.976 frames per second, while youtube and other online videos tend to be 30fps. you can check the framerate of a video file by right clicking > properties > details
however, if i clip out a scene using the built-in windows video trim tool, it will create the clip at 30fps, causing it to lose some smoothness and look just slightly choppier. and giffing is all about trying to minimize choppiness one small step at a time.
here's where premiere comes in. if you have premiere, go ahead and open it up and create a project. i have one just for gif clip exports. if you don't have premiere, you can either retain the framerate by importing the full original file into photoshop (step 2) or clip it and just work with it in 30fps. no worries either way, in the grand scheme of things it's not that big of a difference and we can still make the gifs super pretty.
open up the full file in premiere's source monitor and locate the section you want to clip. use the mark in/mark out buttons (or the "i" and "o" hotkeys) to select your clip range
then hit ctrl+M or File > Export > Media to export your clip. premiere will automatically set the export settings to match the framerate and resolution of the source clip unless you've used a different preset recently, so make sure the preset menu says "Match Source - Adaptive High Bitrate," name your file, decide where you want it, and hit export.
step 2: importing into photoshop
you're going to import your clip into photoshop by selecting File > Import > Video Frames to Layers, then picking which clip you want to gif. as you can see in my screenshot, i have this set as a keybind* to alt+shift+ctrl+i to make it faster
this will cause a menu to pop up where you can select the part of the clip you'd like to import into photoshop. now that the maximum gif size is 10mb, you can do pretty long gifs, depending on how much movement is in the clip. generally each gif can be a few seconds, but it's up to your discretion.
the clip markers aren't very precise, so don't worry about getting too perfect with the clipping here, you can shave off frames as you please throughout the rest of the process. when you have your range determined, hit OK and it'll bring us into photoshop proper!
*to set a keybind, go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts
step 3: prepping for coloring
each frame of the clip will be imported as an individual layer. it's subjective, but i've come to like my gifs having a range of about 40-140 frames, depending on how long i need them to be.
you want to make sure your workspace setting is set to "motion," so you can see the frame timeline across the bottom of your screen, like this:
you can select this workspace setting with the dropdown menu in the top right corner.
next up, scroll to the end of your timeline and shift click the last frame, selecting all the frames. click the carrot next to the number under the frames (the number in my example is "0.04") and select "other" to change the frame delay. i normally use 0.05 or 0.06, depending on how slow and dramatic i'd like the gifs to be. for this one, we'll do 0.06.
now hit "C" to open your crop tool. if you want those nice big gifs people make a lot, i'd recommend putting in 4:3 into the ratio bar at the top. you obviously don't have to crop at all; it depends on how you want it to look. hit enter when you have your crop how you like it to complete the action
select Image > Image Size or hit alt+ctrl+i to change the size of your gif. no matter what cropping you have, the width of your gif (if you want it to be the only one on its horizontal row in the tumblr post) MUST BE 540PX!! this is tumblr's ideal width for an image post** and will keep it from stretching or compressing when you post it. so go ahead and type "540" into the width column and hit enter.
now, make sure all of your frames on the timeline are still selected, go to the hamburger menu on the top right of the timeline, and select "Flatten Frames Into Layers"
go to the layer panel on the right (NOT the timeline), scroll past all the layers labeled "Frame [1, 2, 3, etc]" until you hit the first one labeled "Layer [number]." click the first layer, then scroll down and shift click to select all the layers labeled "Layer," and hit backspace or the little trash bin icon to delete them. we only want the ones labeled "Frame" now.
click the "Convert to video timeline" button on the bottom left of the timeline, right under the first frame!
so your screen should now look like this:
shift click the last frame (at the top) to select all your frames, right click any frame in the layer panel on the right, and select "Convert to Smart Object." this will compress all your frames into one dynamic layer photoshop knows is supposed to move.
**540px is ideal for one image in a row, 268px if you're putting two gifs next to each other, and 160px for three in a row.
step 4: COLORING <3
if you downloaded that gif sharpening tool i linked at the top, find it in the folder it downloaded to and double click to import it into photoshop. this should open the "Actions" tab, which essentially allows users to program in a series of actions in a certain order that they can make photoshop execute when you hit "play" on the action. for example, i had one that essentially did all of step 3 for me before my computer died last winter.
anyway, make sure your smart object is selected in the layer panel, open up the actions tab, select "glossy sharpening," and hit the play button. this is a nice sharpening tool i like that takes out a very difficult step, but if you'd like to play around with your own sharpening settings and get it how you like go ahead!
here's what it will look like after executing the actions.
now, remember what i said about the framerate in step 1? here's where that comes in. if your clip is in 30fps, you can skip this part because photoshop defaults to 30fps motion editing. if your clip (like mine) is in 23.976fps then click the same hamburger menu we clicked for "Flatten Frames Into Layers" before and click on "Set Timeline Frame Rate." Choose the correct framerate from the drop down menu and hit OK.
now for the best part: customizing your coloring!! go ahead and click the folder icon in the bottom right to create a group in your layer panel, but don't put your base layers in here. this is going to be for your color editing layers.
the icon right next to the group icon, the circle with a clear half and an opaque half, is now your best friend. this gives us our adjustment layers. the first one we're going to use, and by far the best one, is levels. levels is magical.
levels basically works by you telling it what "white" and "black" means by selecting pixels in the image. generally you want to use the "white" eyedropper to select the brightest pixel you can find and the "black" eyedropper to select the darkest.
this has the amazing power of being able to smoothly lighten or de-fog or clarify images. now, darker images are always going to be harder to make look good, and there's only so much you can do. but that "so much" is endlessly expanded if you mess around with levels, especially if you layer levels layers on top of each other, then right click > Blending Options > and mess with the fill opacity.
note: the levels layer i'm editing is at 28% fill opacity and 71% regular opacity, which is why it didn't entirely deep-fry the image when i clicked on a mid-grey with the white selection eyedropper.
after messing around with levels until i'm satisfied, i'll add a "vibrance" layer and boost it until it looks good. i also like adding a "color balance" layer and playing with it. for this one i'm adding a bit of blue to the shadows and a bit of cyan and red to the highlights. it's also been trendy lately, especially in gifs of people talking, to add a "hue & saturation" layer and desaturate the yellows by a lot while emphasizing other colors, like here:
after you have your colors how you like, i recommend toggling the visibility of the group a few times to see what you've done! it's so satisfying to look at the change between the base layer and the coloring you've made.
step 5: text
i try to keep my text pretty standard, but you can get creative with it as you please. to add text you can hit "T" to toggle your text tool or select it from the left tools panel. when you click to add the text it'll create the layer starting from wherever your playhead is, so make sure you move it on the timeline to line it up with the start of the gif. drag the end of the text layer on the timeline to make sure it's the same length as the gif so you don't get empty frames when you export. i like 18pt text, and i use the font Gadugi, but i've also used Calibri before.
caption colors for gifs come from broadcast caption colors, meaning that the first person to speak is given white captions, the second person is given yellow, and the third is given teal, although you can do whatever. i normally use:
1st person: #FFFFFF
2nd person: #fcbe11
3rd person: either a more muted orange or a soft teal
you also want to make sure your text is centered by clicking the center paragraph toggle on the top of the screen while your text layer is selected. using the move tool ("v" or the tool on the top of the toolbar) you can center on the guidelines photoshop gives you. i generally like my text pretty much as close to the bottom as it can get without getting cut off.
once all that's sorted, go over to the "fx" button on the same row as the adjustment layer and group/folder buttons. we're going to add a stroke and drop shadow.
the stroke adds an outline. i do 2px, postition set to outside, normal blend mode, 100% opacity and solid black (#000000)
the drop shadow is more malleable because it depends on how the text looks based on the scene it's overlaying. i tend to change it up to make the text the most legible i can, but here's the settings i start from:
step 6: exporting
to export as a gif, go to File > Export > Save For Web (Legacy) or ctrl+shift+alt+S. this will bring up a menu to configure your export settings, and will tell you how big the gif is going to be (in megabytes) after the export. as mentioned earlier, you want it to be less than 10mb. if you use the beta post editor, try to keep it under 9.8mb because for some reason the beta post editor tends to thing gifs that are almost 10mb are actually over the limit.
you can see the gif size in the bottom left, 6.507mb, so we're good to go. if your gif IS to big you can go back into the timeline and shorten it by dragging the edges of the timeline layers. if you drag the base layers (the ones labeled "Frame [x]" and "Frame [x] copy") the group above it will conform to that length, but the text layer will not, so you have to manually drag that layer too.
make sure the settings in the top right panel match mine to avoid export errors, and in the bottom right make sure it says "Looping Options: Forever" or you'll have a gif that will only play once.
to double check that you like your gif and see it properly, you can click "preview" in the bottom left. this will open a tab in your browser to view it in its final size and playback speed. if you don't like it, you can go back and tweak it however you want.
so that's that! we've got a gif.
i know this may seem like a lot, but once you get in the groove (or make some automations or keybinds!) it gets a lot faster and the satisfaction of making a good, pretty gif is so nice. i happened to choose a really dark scene to gif for this one so it's not my best work but it was just an example lol.

My favorite shows and movies that i've watched in 2023
Barbie (2023)
Always been a sucker for great production and costume design. Feminism aside, it’s so fun and smart with all the references. I just don’t like the Ken hype. He’s fun, sure, but a lot of fans are missing the point or just proving the message of the story.
Bottoms (2023)
Need more lesbian chaos as a comedy fan. Sapphic softcore is ok of course, but you know, there should be a variety of WLW cinema. Perfect also for the Y2K nostalgia. ‘Bring It On’ fan here!
Nocebo (2022)
I actually watched it last year, but it was too late to be on my 2022 list. Underrated political-horror film. Underrated cast! It should’ve had the same hype with Parasite and Triangle of Sadness. For me, it was simple and well-written. The structure of the story was smart but easy to absorb.
About Us But Not About Us (2022)
The first and last single-location film that I watched was Kisaragi (2007) and I’ve been waiting for something like that since then. One of the most important things i look for a media is the script so i really enjoyed it especially when they switched characters. Very intriguing.
The Little Mermaid (2023)
Been waiting for this since 2019! I’ve been a fan of Halle Bailey since that announcement. I rarely watch things on the cinema, but it’s something i couldn’t miss. Beautiful, pure and magical. Perfect casting and amazing chemistry!
Si Chedeng At Si Apple (2017)
Another chaotic lesbian film, but make it Filipino! It was funny and bloooody just like Bottoms so if you liked it then you should try this one. Not a spoiler, but part of the plot: That lady in yellow killed her abusive husband.
Maria Clara At Ibarra (2022)
I haven’t finished it yet! But i would recommend it! Brought back my trust and love for Filipino series. If you are not Filipino, it’s a good way to learn our history. Fun, written with passion + great set and costume design.
Mga Lihim Ni Urduja (2023)
After Maria Clara at Ibarra, i became more interested in Filipino series especially with historical fiction. This one is so underrated and empowering! Has the prettiest and hottest cast tbh and a queer undertone *wink*
Betcin (2021)
I have to say that this is the best Filo GL/WLW so far. It has an actual interesting story and interesting characters. Both leads are toxic AF, but it was sooooo entertaining. Top tier chemistry. Top tier acting!
Swarm (2023)
As a Beyhive, i don’t really like how they chose us coz there are more crazy fandoms out there, but still watched and finished it because of Dominique Fishback. SHE IS AMAZING. She deserves awards for this portrayal alone.
Ang Babae Sa Septik Tank 3: The Real Untold Story of Josephine Bracken (2011)
Another mockumentary that is to die (of laughter) for! I’ve always wanted to finish the trilogy, but i started with this because of history. Frustratingly funny. I don’t know if i would root for her or not lmao
The ultimatum: Queer love (2023)
I admit, watching reality shows is my guilty pleasure so imagine my excitement when it’s full of queer women??? The dramaaaa lmao i need more seasons of just sapphics. It’s also a cool and chaotic concept tho. I thought it was just a normal dating show at first.
Physical 100 (2023)
This is my kind of reality show! I hope it will have multiple versions from different countries. The best thing about it is how fitness is really measured by getting competitors from different backgroundsand giving them different challenges.
Rookie (2023)
The most anticipated movie of the Filipino sapphics! And if you’re a volleyball fan? I’m sure this would be automatically on your list. It’s just so cute and wholesome.
Ladies First: A story of women in Hip Hop (2023)
Must watch! Not only for the history of the rap girlies, but to trace back the struggles they faced and are still facing. You might discover talented women to stan in your music or lyrical style too.

Bruce Almighty [2003] -- i'll start off with something easy. this is the only jim carrey movie i would say i absolutely SUFFERED through, like, painful agony. something that bugs me is in his 10mil trilogy [ace ventura/dumb n dumber/mask] he is continually asked to repeat his original material shown in 'jim carrey's unnatural act,' his work before that, n his ad-libs in "in living colour." but you kinduv get it in the 10mil trilogy, like! theser are his first three big films and so naturally, these elements are necessary to instill a sort of marketable charm for him as a breakout. even though i think he'd already very much 'broken out,' but whatever. 'bruce almighty' is a pastiche of a pastiche, with a sense of abject cruelty that goes entirely against the charm of what makes early carrey movies, well, carrey movies !!! despite his hands-on approach to this flick, it just doesnt feel really like something he'd do under any other circumstances... i love u jim i hope ur ok and im sorry i dont like bruce almighty))):
Barbie [2023] -- this movie was primed to be adored by me. it had everything; margot robbie, bright colours, elaborate sets, a sort of blinding stupidity, something blatantly silly, and kitsch. i should have fucking loved this movie. if i had seen it in a theatre, i'd have up and walked out halfway through. it was around that mark that i paused the flick and turned to my mom and brother and asked "are you all feeling what i'm feeling?" which was this ... nauseating sense of cynicism. it was a wholeheartedly empty film, containing no amount of irony which was meaningful. all of the camp and kitschy aspects were self aware and intentional, which, obviously, cuts out the camp of it all. it is so self aware so as to be insulting to the viewer and provide nothing in the way of any kinduv social commentary, all while looking you in the eye, winking, and saying "we're doing all of this and changing nothing, isn't that so meta? i'm addressing you; aren't i meta? aren't i so 2023-chic? aren't i so nihilistic?" it was a hollow, cynical, capitalistic endeavour with no shame. the fact that this movie was released at all is a testament to our indifference as a culture, how we just sit here and eat whatever fucking shit we have put in front of it and usually, i'd be fine with that. i LOVE eating shit. but when the shit-taker looks you in the eye while feeding you his feces? fuck off. it is more than a pastiche, it is more than a disgusting and crude display, it is more than a first entry into an assured milieu of product-based universes, it is a misanthropic hateful display of consumerism that makes a fool of you and itself by shouting @ you from the screen: "WE ARE GOING TO CHANGE NOTHING AND YOU ARE GOING TO LIKE IT." furthermore, it is a crime against my faggot sensibilities. which is unacceptable. not to mention, it is genuinely cruel to the idea of men having personalities and hobbies and passions. but i know that's even less agreed with. save yourself the two hours and watch "pee-wee's big adventure" instead. at least pee-wee loves you.
Skinamarink [2022] -- offender of the highest order in horror: being boring. if you've seen a movie longer than an hour and a half with a slower pace, this movie is nothing. if you have ever watched dogma 95, it is nothing. if you have ever watched gummo or julien donkey boy, it is nothing. if you have ever been anxious in the heart of the night, it is nothing. it is nothing no matter which way you look at it. go watch the monument mythos or if you want a good horror flick made in the same year, then go watch michelle garza cervera's debut; husera: the bone woman.
Batman [1989] -- what a pitiful entry into the most whimsical, exhiliterating, absolutely fucking bonkers series of films ever. the burtonverse which contains this film and the following batman returns is alright, it's cool. like whatever, that's fine. i think the set and costume designs are sick and i'm excited for the new batman '89 comix that are coming out now, that's fine, whatever. but BORE ME DURING THE 1990'S BATMAN FRANCHISE!? a crime! michael keaton is such a trite and empty little creature. he looks stupid in the bat costume and not in a way that's fun like the much superior schumacher-verse flicks that follow the next entries after burton. bat nipples? bat cards? gay people? that's what the 90's batman flicks are about. it's aout not knowing what the fuck is going on but tommy lee jones and jim carrey are KISSING. only good thing about it is when jack n gets the makeup on he's absolutely fucking terrifying n that's how he rly is in real life in real !!!! in real life !!! fun fact !!!

Hello, you've piqued my interest. Can we hear about Iyami's themes?
Oh man!!! I could talk about him all day! OK so! I’ll try to talk about some of the things that make his characterization so interesting to me! This is probably going to be long and all over the place so I’m going to put it under a readmore.
Iyami’s name means gaudy, disagreeable and he sure is both of these things! Fujio Akatsuka reportedly based him as a character in two sources: Tony Tani, a Japanese vaudevillian who dressed in a very flashy way, spoke in a mock-fancy way and loved dropping random words in English in his speech and… in Charlie Chaplin’s Tramp character! (A character who was also based on vaudeville performers. Iyami’s an entertainer through and through!)
Such a combination made Iyami a very contradictory character. He’s a fashion victim, extremely vain and overdressed in most occasions, liking to follow European fashion to a T. He speaks how he assumes is how rich, sophisticated people speak, and he even goes by his own personal pronoun: the English word me (the French word moi in the English translations of Osomatsu-kun / Osomatsu-san.)
He’s also usually living in poverty, having to resort to tricks and scams to survive. Osomatsu-kun ran according to a “Looney Tunes continuity, which is to say, the characters stay the same but the setting and their relations might change. In the vast majority of stories, though, he’s shown as a not-very-successful con man.
In the story we’re first properly introduced to him he’s an old college friend of the sextuplets’ dad, Matsuzō, and he overstays his welcome something fierce in their house, being completely clueless to the fact everyone wants him to leave. This aspect of his personality has remained consistent throughout all of his characterizations: Iyami is a character who’s awfully oblivious of and doesn’t think much of disregarding Japanese societal norms. As a result, most consider Iyami absolutely unpleasant to be around. Usually, his only friend is Chibita, a street kid he has no blood relation to who he basically raises on his own (although he doesn’t consider himself his father.) One can argue their relationship mirrors the Tramp’s relationship with the kid from the eponymous Charlie Chaplin’s film The Kid.
This very extreme duality aspect of Iyami is seen in other ways sometimes: he seems to be extremely self-assured and self-absorbed but some stories suggest he’s actually deeply self-conscious, usually about his poverty and appearance (which seems to mostly revolve around his overbite). Whenever he has a chance to fully reinvent himself, he usually lunges for it. Despite his unpleasantness as well, he’s also very charismatic, being able to charm just about anyone into complying with his tricks. His overconfidence usually ruins everything before he has a chance to make a run for it with the money, though. And -the duality aspect of his that caught my attention the most- despite the harsh life he lives, Iyami is always upbeat and full of hope for the future.
Here’s some “self-portraits” Iyami drew of himself once. As you can see, this guy looks nothing like him.
This charisma of his made it to the real world. Iyami’s famous pose and catchphrase, the sheeh, became a real life “meme” in the 60s which was repeated everywhere in Japan. Godzilla himself struck it in one of the movies and the Beatles were convinced to strike it when visiting Japan!
Iyami also became a breakout character in the Osomatsu-kun manga, overshadowing the main characters. Osomatsu-san, the 2015 reboot of Osomatsu-kun runs with it, making Iyami yearn for his meta fame of yesteryear and try as much as he can to “become the main character again”, which won’t happen because he’s awfully antiquated by current anime character standards.
Another thing that’s extremely interesting about Iyami in my opinion, which is also his claim to fame besides the sheeh is what I dub “the France thing”. Iyami insists he “is just returning from France” as a way to brag or protest whichever way he’s being currently treated. He repeats this so much it’s an incredibly well-known catchphrase of his, and the way he refers to France (in an inappropriately respectful way, by adding the honorific ō in front of the word) and was previously completely unheard of, is now super well known and used as a joke to this day in Japan.
While it would make sense for Iyami to just randomly claim he’s been to somewhere far away and “exotic” to sound fancy, some stories have suggested that… it’s not quite just that. It seems to be a real coping mechanism for him. Whether it’s for the hardships of his life or something else is unclear. He seems to have truly convinced himself he has been to a highly idealized France and it’s the place where he truly belongs. He even writes Japanese characters in mock cursive and tries to eat using chopsticks as western cutlery.
There’s even a story in which his lies about France are contested by a character who has actually been there and he gets so distraught he starts speaking without his “accent” for the first and only time in the entire 30-odd year run of the manga.
One could argue his fixation on “going to France” is what keeps his optimistic and going through life despite everything. There’s nothing really supporting that, but I personally believe that, at least part of him thinks it’s a place where he’d be more accepted. Where his natural flamboyance wouldn’t be seen as unpleasant and disruptive but celebrated instead. But of course, this one’s just me, heh.

Ok Jared fans here's a little fluffy stuff, at work tonight so they are just coming at me.
"Daddy's Promise"
Jared Padalecki paced back and forth in his trailer, anxiety gnawing at him. He had been away for weeks, filming on the other side of the country, and today was supposed to be his daughter's first birthday. He'd promised Y/N he'd be there, but the flights were all full, and his scenes ran late. Panic set in as he realized he might not make it back in time.
Frantically, he called Y/N and pressed the "FaceTime" button. His heart sank when he saw her tear-stained face. "Hey, sweetheart, I'm so sorry. I'm trying my best to get there," he said, his voice cracking with emotion.
Y/N sniffled and wiped her tears, "Jared, it's okay. I know you're trying. We'll celebrate when you get here."
Jared's eyes welled up as he looked at the photo of his daughter on the table. "I don't want to miss her first birthday," he said, his voice trembling.
Y/N's eyes softened. "We understand, Jared. Just know that we love you, and we'll be thinking of you." She panned the camera to show their daughter, a little princess in her pink party dress, surrounded by friends and family. "Look, she's having fun. We'll record everything for you."
As the party went on, Jared did his best to stay in the loop through FaceTime, watching his daughter excitedly open gifts and blow out her first birthday candle. He couldn't help but smile through the tears as he saw her smiling and laughing.
Then, unexpectedly, the door to his trailer swung open. In walked Jensen Ackles, grinning from ear to ear. "Well, well, well, look who's missing the party," he said playfully.
Jared's eyes widened, and he could hardly believe his eyes. Jensen was there, in person, despite his busy schedule. The two friends shared a quick, heartfelt hug before they rushed to the car that would take them to the airport.
Minutes felt like hours as they raced against time, but Jared had a spark of hope. "We can make it, Jensen. We'll make it in time."
As they arrived at the party, Jared and Jensen burst through the door, creating a momentary hush among the guests. Y/N's eyes filled with tears, and she rushed to Jared, embracing him tightly. "You made it!"
Their daughter reached out her tiny arms, and Jared scooped her up, tears streaming down his face. "I promised I'd be here, sweetheart. Daddy always keeps his promises."
The party roared back to life, laughter and celebration filling the room. And amidst the chaos, Jared Padalecki held his daughter close, knowing that some promises were too important to break.

I chose Simeon for little sweet pea Liam! Simeon is firm but gentle, he would encourage Liam in his magic study endeavours while helping him set up healthy boundaries. He wouldn't want Liam to be like Solomon and get lost in his work for days on end.
He's very patient and has a calming presence, which I think Liam would find reassuring especially when Liam has a tendency to overthink. I think he'd be more into listening and offering comfort and support if Liam came to him with any problems. He'd offer guidance, but only if asked, he knows Liam is more than capable of figuring things out on his own.
Head canons for them as a couple:
A very slow build up to getting together. They had been friends for a while, getting closer and closer the more they got to know each other. Simeon thought he was being obviously forward in his intentions but oblivious Liam wasn't picking up what he was putting down! It got to a point where even Mammon had had enough; Simeon had shown up at HOL for like the 10th time that week, (it was only Wednesday) saying that he needed to return something that Asmo had left behind in Solomon's room the other day. (no such item existed he knew it, the brothers new it but Liam sure didn't!) He found his way to Liam; Mammon's room showing him some shiny rocks (fool's gold actually). Do I have to go into the awkwardness of this interaction? I'm sparing you the cringy details but it ends with Mammon basically asking Liam out for Simeon while shouting. Mammon says he only did it so he doesn't have to see Simeon more than he has too. But everyone knows it's because he cares about his little human/bestie/favourite person!
Simeon thinks Liam's dorky dancing is honestly the cutest thing he's ever seen. His heart feels full when he watches him, if he could work out how to use his silly D.D.D. he would film it every chance he got.
Cute dates at the skate park together 💕 Sometimes Luke comes and he watches Liam try to teach Luke how to skate. He bought Liam and Luke matching helmets, knee & elbow pads. He's worried ok! Please wear them Liam!
Did Liam know Simeon was a cuddle bug? No, but he does now! Simeon will wrap his arms around Liam any chance he gets. He gives very sweet kisses too. And he wants to be holding Liam's hand wherever it's free. He's very proud to be with Liam, he's so in love with him. It's scares him a little, he didn't think it was possible to love someone this much.
The first time he told Liam he loved him was in the cafeteria at RAD. They were sitting with Mammon, Solomon, Luke, Asmo, & Beel. Liam was gushing about the new flower that had sprouted on his plant-demon familiar when he got distracted by the change of song over the speakers. There was a "oooh I love this song" followed by singing and a little dancing in his seat. Simeon leaned in, wrapped his arm around him and pulled him close. Kissed him sweetly on the neck and whispered 'I love you'.
Hack! My little sweet pea friend! I hope you like this little match up for darling Liam 🌻 I'll be working on your little fic request now too. I'm so happy we have connected on this god awful site, I'm pretty sure I annoyed you with some art questions?... And then I guess I just didn't leave you alone 😅☺️ anyway I'm glad! Sneak Peek of BTC Chapter 10!
I've been waiting to write this chapter. >:)
(Audrey's point of view)
Life moved rather slow at the safehouse.
They weren't supposed to be let out of their cages, but that was when Tom was around.
When Tom went out to get supplies however, that was a different story.
Alice often let them out of their cages when Tom left.
"It's not good to be locked up 24/7! You need to stretch your legs every now and then." She said.
Though, there was something Audrey noticed during these temporary breaks.
Bendy often chose to stay within the cage when these breaks occurred, and during the few times he did choose to leave, he took specific measures to avoid Henry in particular.
It was...confusing, to say the least.
She confided all of this to Porter, during one of the rare moments Bendy was sleeping and the others were distracted.
"Ah yes, that's to be expected...Allow me to explain, Bobby."
"Are you aware of how the Cycle proceded before Wilson arrived?" Porter asked.
"I know that Joey made the Cycle to torture Henry, it repeats when Henry shows Bendy a film reel, Alice is supposed to help Henry, and Sammy and Norman had roles in it, to torture Henry, and it made them...bad."
"You know quite a lot, but you don't know the full story."
"Explain."
"Yes, there are many people in this world, crafted to torture and break Henry, Sammy and Norman included, but Bendy was the king of them all."
"He and Henry were sworn enemies, destined to destroy each other at every turn. Henry releases him, Bendy tries to kill him, sometimes succeeds, Henry destroys him, and then the Cycle repeats."
"But then, Wilson came."
"He halted the Cycle in place, changing the entire structure of our world, trapping Bendy between two forms and locking the Cyclebreakers away.
"Then all of you escaped and helped each other. I was hoping that was a sign that the two of them had set their forced conflict and could get along."
Porter let out a sigh and looked at Bendy.
"I suppose I was wrong to assume that. Years of aggression and death won't be washed away so easily."
"If he gave Henry a chance, they could have a chance to make up." Audrey stated.
"They probably could, Bobby, but it's not that easy. They've been stuck in a loop of antagonism and hatred for so many years, I think the two of them honestly don't know how to interact with each other if they aren't enemies."
Audrey let out a sigh and put a hand on Bendy's head.
"Is it childish of me to wish it was that easy?" She asked.
"If it is, then that makes me childish as well." Porter answered.
The two of them sat in silence for a bit before Audrey broke the silence.
"You know something?"
"What?" Porter asked.
"When I got first locked up, my goal was to escape and find a way to restart the Cycle, because I thought there was a way that I could fix it and make it better. But if that's the way things are when the Cycle's running, then I think that all I could do was make it worse."
"'More often then not, the most well intentioned ideas are the stupidest ones.' An old friend of mine said that to me once." Porter said.
"God- I didn't even have a concrete plan on making things better for everybody! I just blindly hoped that everything would work itself out! God, how could I have been so dumb?!" She quietly yelled at herself, slapping her head.
"Hey, hey, hey. You're not dumb." Porter said, grabbing her hands.
"...ok, maybe a little dumb."
"Hey!"
"But! You mean well, and I know you're capable of great things, Bobby. You're just...bad at planning it out."
"Just keep your head high, and focus on making a functional plan. I have faith that you'll find a way in the end."
"Ok. Thanks Porter." She said.
"Anytime, Bobby!"

8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
ok really really long story but when i was in high school i had a big set of characters and a plan laid out for an animated short, that i ended up trying to do for my senior project (my high school did those. they could kinda be whatever you want.) it involved a possum named reuben who worked as a cook in a dilapidated Kowloon Walled City type setting. a terrible setting for the story i realize now. the characters feel plopped into a totally disconnected world. theres no thematic or lore reason i set it in a place like that, and the characters are all so entirely american lmao my little highschool self was just really interested in that kind of stuff i guess. his boss was an incompetent raccoon named pascal, and the plot involved reuben running an errand (buying some cinnamon) for the restaurant after a local celebrity, a bat named Flan, showed up. his order had cinnamon in it and pascal didnt want to have to make an incomplete dish for him because he probably had a huge crush on the guy. coincidentally reuben met up with his friend, a pidgeon named Mochi. (i wish id just leaned full on into the chowder style food names and given pascal a different name lmao idk why i didnt.) thats the gist of it, and i worked on it all throughout my senior year, though at least 80% of that work did not go into the actual animation because i planned it so incredibly poorly. most of my time went into the storyboards, which is the part i actually enjoyed the most.
next, in an act of utter foolishness, i decided to tackle the project of drawing every. single. background. and mind you i did not know how to draw backgrounds. this took me months of time i could have spend animating, and i had to get help from my internet friends just to get it done in a timely manner. i ended up with. 81 BACKGROUNDS. THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY USED IN THE FILM? ABOUT 10. MAYBE.
i did all the voice acting myself, which is the only reason im not linking the final film here beyond general embarrassment over the quality. this was pre-transition and im not comfortable sharing how i sounded back then. in the end, with only a few months left in the year, i finally began animation, and it was quite a lot of fun. sadly, i was tackling all the scenes with no lip-syncing necessary first because i assumed lip-syncing would be very hard with my snouted characters. i didnt ever get to any lip-synced shots, but the scenes i ACTUALLY did get around to animating were a lot of fun.
with my unprepared hubris, i ended up with an 8-minute slideshow of inscrutable storyboard scans punctuated occasionally with animation. i would have preferred to edit the characters into the backgrounds i had worked so hard on, but i had to crunch insanely hard to assemble the final video near the end to meet the time limit, and gladly, covid-19 made it so only my family and teachers were present during the presentation, with my classmates present over a zoom stream, which eased a lot of the embarrassment. i still had to leave the room while the short played. gladly though, they loved it, and thought it was really really funny. i stated boldly that i would FINISH THE SHORT SOMEDAY AND SEND IT OUT TO EVERYONE. at the time i probably meant what i said. id been drawing reuben, pascal, flan and mochi in the corners of my homework every day for years, i was really really passionate about them, but after the school year ended something kind of shifted. coincidentally it lined up with my coming out as trans and drawing Cath for the first time. i lost interest very quickly after that, and my parents were pretty mad that id decided to abandon the project. i guess the pressure probably got to me too. i was burnt out and even i was aware of how messy and flawed the story had come out. i didnt really draw them ever again after that except for a few times. leaving the project behind also ended my hopes of becoming an animator one day, my dream up until that point. it was probably the biggest shift in my artistic direction ive ever had, and im happy that shift happened. even though i left those characters behind almost entirely, they helped me become the person i am today. this of course involves all the times i drew reuben with boobs and thought “this is normal right? its normal that im drawing whats essentially my sona as a girl, right? its normal that i think about reuben transforming into a girl so often right?”

This is my iwtv episode 1 rant
Ok but like it sucks (haha pun intended) to see such rich and thematically complex characters be dumbed down by at best boiler plate and at worst cringe worthy writing. The gay is not enough of a saving grace for this mess, seriously some of the choices in how it was directed made it look like a camp slasher film ( lestat punching through the priests skull) but thankfully those made me laugh out loud so hard I almost enjoyed them a bit. Also can we talk about how Lestat couldn't articulate words properly with the false teeth during that scene cause that just added to the hilarity. Honestly I think the effort to make the setting more grounded in reality and make the tone lighter just removed all the atmosphere and power that stems from the books (and original films) gothic style. It was this style that carried the drama and seriousness of the story and now it's just... well it feels like any other made for teenagers edgy vampire shlock. And it's such a pity cause Sam Reid's lestat was really spot on in terms of book accuracy in his behavior, mannerisms, appearence, accent and general vibe. He was exactly the way I imagined the character to be reading the books. Shame all his depth and underlying emotion had to be flattened or written with the subtlety of a teenage temper tantrum (contrast this with how one reads into tom cruises lestat more the more times they rewatch the film and notice subtleties in his performance that convey the feelings Lestat describes in later books) All that is to say nothing of dear Louis who is basically a completely different character created out of full cloth, which would have been fine if he wasn't so inferior to his original version. This Louis lacks the romantic and moralistic qualities that made him such a captivating character on the first place, his naivete is gone, so are his artistic sensibilities. He no longer reads books, he drives cars, beats people up and gambles, in short,he is jaded and nihilistic, beaten down by a society who has treated him like he is inferior his whole life. This is everything Louis shouldn't be. In order to drive home the point of Louis and Lestat being in an abusive relationship, they are both reduced to cliches of manipulator and manipulated and their interactions are made way more violent than they originally were, making it seem like the draw they have for each other is pure toxicity and an intense oppressed sex drive. The romance pretty secondary to the seduction here, because as we all know sex sells better than anything when it comes to vampires. And I don't mind the sex, obviously, but I seriously don't see why Lestat would genuinely fall in love with this Louis, who lacks the hopeless romantic qualities that made him so attractive to a jaded, atheist but still hope seeking Lestat in the books. When he says I love you, he sounds like a clingy college student who just entered their first relationship. Yeah overall fuck this. Me no likey.
