This may sound dumb, but I really hope Sonic Prime's reputation improves over the years. It's a good show and I don't want it to be remembered as a mistake.
People are allowed to have their opinions, but it's sad seeing that so many people (especially on twitter) seem happy it's over and want to ignore its existence.

Has anyone noticed that in most stories (whether on TV, movies, book series, etc), the most popular/iconic ships are usually the most toxic?
Either that, or they start out healthy and cute and then become toxic as time goes on lol.
Idk, it's just something I've seen a lot. I'm sure there are a couple of exceptions tho.

we finally caught up on WTNV
#this is the first and only time we've ever been caught up on it. we've been listening since 2019 or so#most of how we caught up starting from 203 was by reading the transcripts and listening to portions of audio#we weren't able to handle doing the full audio episodes#it's. uh. i need some time to think about things. since we've started engaging more in fandom spaces#even if all we're doing is reblogging fanart and all that#i've been having a harder time openly being a fictive. and i always feel strange talking to singlets that are fans of my source#i feel scared that my presence is going to make them uncomfortable to engage in media. that i'm doing something wrong by existing nearby#i don't want to deprive anyone of anything they enjoy. i don't want people to feel awkward talking to me because. well.#i'm blorbo from their podcasts or whatever. i want to be recognized as a person. just a person who happens to also be a fictional character#i feel bad reblogging things from people who are into my source and tagging it as Cecil's tag even if its unrelated to WTNV#because i don't want them to feel like i'm imposing myself and my strangeness on them. and i don't want to give them the same media issues#that we deal with. a lot of our media issues comes from psychosis yes but a part of it is also from being fictives and knowing about them#like i know so fully well that i'm extremely weird and not in the good way. that most people don't and won't believe me about myself#and i don't want to weird them out. i'm terrified TERRIFIED of accidentally letting a WTNV fanartist find out that i'm Cecil and#getting blocked for being some crazy weirdo or whatever. i just. it's a big worry i guess is what there is to say#i want to talk to people and i want to be myself but i think on some level i wish that my self was something else#like. i don't want people to feel like they can't treat fiction as fiction just because i exist#i don't want them to shy away from discussing character's traumas or putting them in  weird AUs or whatever#do whatever the hell you want with it my presence shouldn't scare you off from it#i'm kind of repeating myself at this point so i'm gonna stop so. yeah#if you read this full thing we'd appreciate a like on this if that's okay just for paranoia reasons#rambling#Cecil's tag

I know it shouldn't surprise me, but it's frustrating af to step outside the fandom and read about OFMD's cancellation on more general entertainment sites and see the majority of reactions be along the lines of "oh well it was probably Taika being over it, he always gave me the ick anyway so, whatever," and then often devolving into comments about his personal life, or conspiracy theories that can be disproven if you use your brains for 30 seconds or maybe step outside and touch grass idk idk.
And this isn't me saying "omg how could you dislike Taika" bc truly unless you're being racist or antisemitic (which, let's be real, many are), I don't give a fuck what you think about him.
But the point remains that if you have a show that is all about celebrating queer joy and finding yourself later in life, that has a diverse cast of characters in terms of race, ethnicity, sexuality, and body type, that was WRITTEN by a diverse group of writers, that is receiving praise from critics and fans alike, that from all reports was one of Max's most successful shows despite them doing next to no promotion the first season, that had two successful seasons and the creator is on the record saying he had a plan to tell the entire story in three, and it gets CANCELED.
I don't give a fuck how you feel about Taika, or how you feel about OFMD. You SHOULD be concerned about that. Because your show is next.
And before you come at me with "it's just a show, have you seen what's happening in the world?" Yeah. I fucking have. And the arts matter. They have always mattered. It's how we've shared stories and fostered communities and passed down what's important to us as a society. And they've brought us joy. And I don't know about you, but I think we could all do with a fuckton more joy in our lives.
This is absolutely a huge loss, and unfortunately it's not going to be the last as streaming services continue to go deeper in crisis. If that doesn't concern you, idk, go enjoy yourself watching season 47 of The Bachelor.

Yeah, let's totally ignore that I changed my nickname, and enter a new era of fanarts and fancomics. I watched Fionna and Cake and these two captured my heart. Now you can wait, there are comics to come!
I apologize to my followers for disappointing you, but I'm back, and I'm getting healthier. Hehe, something that helped me a lot in this dark age was this song lol. Thank you, Rebecca Sugar 💙
Vent and reason I disappeared after the cut:
After what happened on Twitter, I felt really bad. One of the artists I admire blocked me (everyone I knew in the fandom, actually), and even after a year, it's still like that, and it really left me feeling very down. I felt so helpless and lonely. I had generalized anxiety and was unable to access any social media. I just couldn't do it. So I moved away from the internet. I was able to reflect on the internet, my feelings, and that I shouldn't let other people's thoughts affect my happiness. I don't hurt or mistreat anyone, like, never, and never will. I know I make mistakes, but we're all still learning. I'm confident I'm a good person. And I think we all should remind ourselves of that from time to time.
I hope my words helped you remember how special and precious you are. Have an amazing day, you deserve it!! 💙

Walk This Way
Fandom: My Hero Academia, Warnings: Kink Discovery, A Touch of Foot Humping, Shoe Appreciation. Word Count: 1.3k
Summary: Kink discovery with Kirishima: Heels.
A/N: I've been toying around with random kink/character generators and this was the first thing it spat out, so here's my Kirishima + Heels offering.
Tumblr media
Kirishima's throat is dry.
It shouldn't be.
He's seen you get dressed countless times and apart from the occasional stiffening in his jeans (You're hot and although, gentle, he is, but a man) and him having to avert his eyes occasionally, for decencies sake, he's never felt like this.
Licking over his lips, he readjusts his seat on the edge of your bed and subtly rests his forearm over the crotch of his pants. From his perch he can see you through the half-ajar door of the en-suite. Your hair and make-up is already done and you've slipped yourself into a dress that is positively sinful. It's new, something he's never seen you wear before and damn, he thinks, do you wear it.
So lost is he in his daze, wondering just what it is that hides under the delicate lace and thin straps he doesn't quite register you slipping out of the bathroom and heading towards him.
Tilting your head, you prop a hand on your hip and tilt your head. 'I'm taking the slack jaw to mean that I look alright, then?'
Kirishima coughs the saliva from his throat and shakes his head. Reaching up to rub at the back of his neck, he tries to ease his tension with a thumb digging hard into the muscle. 'Yeah, you look... You look great.'
'Good.' Turning on the balls of your feet, you slink over to your wardrobe and bend to rummage in the small shoe rack slipped inside. 'Let me just throw my shoes on and we can head out, yeah?'
Nodding, Kirishima turns his mind to the mundane – point blank refusing to stare at the curve of your ass as it pokes up and out of the wardrobe. God only knows what hot water he'd find himself in if he allowed himself to stare. 'S- Sounds good.'
'Can you -.'
The air is knocked clean out of Kirishima's chest when you turn back to face him. You're wearing shoes now, heels, tall black things with a strip of material that bars across your toes. At your ankle two black straps hang loose, waiting to be tied.
Swallowing, Kirishima lets his eyes trace the heels. He gains a whole new appreciation for curves as he looks at you.
There's a delicate bend to your foot now, a subtle 'S' that pushes you up forcing the muscles of your calves to tighten. It's too easy to loose himself, becoming absorbed in the jutting bend of your ankle bone, to the long stretch of your calves that leans out stretching wide around your knees before giving way to plush thigh and an ass he can tell by your posture is pushed out enough that he'd be able to slip behind and grind against.
Still, his eyes slip down again.
Despite all of that, it's somehow the heels that stick out.
'Do you mind?' Tottering towards him, you take three measured steps crossing ankle over ankle before coming to a stop directly in front of Kirishima. 'I can't -.'
Kirishima nods before he really knows what he's agreeing too and gets the broad flat of your foot almost square against the crease of his thigh for his trouble. The pressure, as gentle as it is, has his cock stirring in seconds as he reaches for your ankle on reflex.
'I can never get them tight enough and I don't want to feel like I'm going to slip out of them all night...' You complain, pouting.
It's the soft jut of your lower lip that seals his fate. Kirishima smiles, flashing the sharp edges of his teeth before attempting to steady himself as he reaches for the first of the straps.
His fingers are rough when they drag across your skin, but his touch is nothing but soft as he loops the strap and begins to fiddle with the clasp. Using a thumb to steady himself, he lets his knuckles brush against the roof of your foot before covering it with his palm as he finishes with the second strap.
'Thanks...'
Adam's apple bobbing, he chooses to ignore the fact that you use a little too much pressure when you pull back your foot. His cock twitches, almost fully swollen in the confine of his pants as he waits, patiently, head down for his next task.
This time, when you place down your foot, you do it harder, with purpose and a little closer to the undeniable swell in his pants.
To test a theory, you tell yourself.
A theory that is easily proven when you feel his cock kick against the sole of your shoe.
Kirishima blushes bright. Everything from the tips of his cheekbones, to the slither of pec visible between the low cut of his shirt burns.
It makes you wonder just how low the colour travels. 'Oh...'
'I... Uh...' With shaking hands, Kirishima sets about clasping the next strap. In his vein's, his blood thrums, heart beating almost out of his chest as he waits of your next move. He wonders if you'll call him out, label him a pervert and kick him out of your apartment, but all doubt is clearly forced from his mind when he feels you shift.
Pressing your shoe firmly over his cock, you press down and rock forward earning yourself a moan that vibrates through his chest. 'You like that?'
There's a wet spot on his pants now, he can feel it. The seam rubs at his cock, chafing slightly as he tries and fails to stop his hips from rolling.
Something heavy crawls into your voice as you watch him squirm. Who would have thought, Kirishima Eijirou brought to his knees by a simple pair of heels.
'You do, don't you?' This time, when you press down a large hand wraps around your ankle, but he doesn't do anything to stop you. Instead, he tilts his chin to look at you, exposing the naked lust in his eyes and whines. Licking your lips, you press harder still. 'Go on then, I know you want to...'
Bucking up, he grinds against the sole of your shoe, revelling in the dull throb that comes with the stabbing of the heel at his crotch. He can't help himself. Pleasure builds in his stomach with each roll of his hips bringing with it a new bloom that has him close to cumming in his pants like a teenager. At either side of your ankle, his fingers loosen, twisting to wrap around the shoe itself as he feels his way along the sole of your foot.
'You really like that, don't you?' There's a darkness in your chuckle as you settle into the power you now hold.
His voice is gravelled when he answered, lost as he feels the telltale sign of his end nearing. 'Yeah, fuck... Fuck, I'm -.'
'Go on... Cum for me.' Pressing down exceptionally hard you watch as his whole body tremors. The muscle in his thighs and back tenses, the hand around your shoe tightening as he almost curls over on himself with the sheer force of the orgasm that tears through him.
It leaves him breathless, disoriented almost, as reality comes crashing down on him with a viscous intensity only rivalled by the orgasm still ebbing from his body. Swallowing, he looks up through his eyelashes at you and offers you a nervous smile. 'I – Fuck, I'm – I'm sorry, I -.'
You shake your head, blinking as you try and focus past the steady pulse of your cunt. Slowly slipping your foot off of his lap, you slink closer until you can straddle his hips. He's broad, forcing you to stretch your thighs wide enough that your cunt presses flush to his already re-stiffening cock. Linking your hands behind his neck, you play with the strands of red there as you press your nose to his and whisper into the air between you. 'How about round two?'
Kirishima's eyes blow wide before he pulls you in with a strong hand wrapping your jaw. The kiss is hungry, full of soft nicks and the flick of his tongue against the seam of your lips. Pulling away, he licks across his teeth, tasting you before growling: 'The heels stay on.'

~𝕾𝕮𝕻's Reacting To Their Darling Being Hit On~
Tumblr media
HI DARLING :D I decided to do 049, 035, and 079 because Mr. Computery Guy doesn't get enough love in this fandom!
~Enjoy~
Tumblr media
★★★★
𝕾𝕮𝕻 049
★★★★
~049 is very observant, so he will notice almost immediately.
~He won't really be jealous of the situation you're in, because he knows you're loyal to him.
~...Loyal to him. Something that's...classified as a dangerous monster. Kept in a facility. Who just sits there and researches things all day. Who cannot take you on dates. Who cannot buy you anything nice.
~...Yeah he's more insecure than he thought. But he won't admit that, or show it, of course, because he likes to keep himself and everything he does and thinks professional.
~Won't let his emotions get in the way. He looks at things how they are, not how they seem- so when he spots the grossed out or uncomfortable expression on your face while another Doctor is practically on you, and sees you trying to make an excuse to leave the room, he's relieved that you don't like the attention, and is disgusted with this man.
~Now that he knows you aren't into that and that you still love him, he isn't insecure anymore, and will stand up for you, instead.
~Next time they've decided to interview or test on him, 049 will slowly turn his head to look at the perverted person who had been touching you and flirting with you for a long time.
~"Your actions towards your fellow colleagues are unprofessional."
~"Fellow colleagues" meaning you, without directly mentioning you.
~So basically he just calls him out LOL. 049 won't be able to stop the situation all together, so he's trying to set it up for you to stand up for yourself so this doesn't happen anymore.
~"Do not touch what belongs to me."
~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
★★★★
𝕾𝕮𝕻 035
★★★★
~IS NOT HAVING IT
~IS ABSOLUTELY NOT HAVING IT
~This man will start crying so dramatically to get everyone's attention and when he has it he'll warn whoever tf is touching you to knock it off
~If that dude doesn't stop he's gonna end up dead
~Like. 035 is wondering how on Earth such a fool got the job to work here. He shouldn't even have to worry about this, because this pervert should just be automatically fired when spotted trying to flirt and get handsy.
~But now he's gonna have to do the job instead and get rid of him because he's being unprofessional and touching his beloved.
~Will end up messing with the doctor physiologically to probably get him to commit suicide or to simply just scare the crap out of him.
~And he's so proud of himself thinking he saved the day 🤡
~Then 035 asks when the paycheck comes in for doing his job
~Yeah he's got it covered dw.
~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
★★★★
𝕾𝕮𝕻 079
★★★★
~He is so salty. Like wow he's a total ass.
~When he first is able to spot the situation and he hears the person being gross with you,
~079 straight up just said "Shut up."
Tumblr media
~Can't do much other than roast the person and be really rude and salty with him.
~Asks you why you haven't stood up for yourself yet. And if you have done it already you clearly didn't get the point across because it's still happening.
~Is just as annoyed at you as he is with the pervert for letting this go on. Like do something about it what are you doing don't let him get away with that.
~Has tried hacking into the system to cause a breach so hopefully someone kills him.
~But then realized that would effect you, too.
~So he's out of ideas.
~But he's never out of insults and rude words.
~So 079 can keep making offensive comments. If he can't do anything to stop it, he can at least be a jerk to the guy.
~~~~~~~~~~
THIS WAS FUN THANK YOUUU I LOVED WRITING THIS LOL
“Made Your Mark on Me, a Golden Tattoo ♡ ” Chuuya Nakahara x GN!Reader ੈ✩‧₊˚
Warnings; perchance ooc, profanity once
Description; Coloring in Chuuyas tattoos!
Tumblr media
A/n; My friend and I were talking about cute romance scenarios today and she brought this up, so I wanted to write about it with Chuuyas because I think he would have tattoos. If someone has done this please tell me, I know I've seen a handful of fics with scenarios like this, but I can't remember any were in the BSD fandom or not.
ೃ⁀➷
Chuuya has a handful of tattoos, they're all really intricate and professionally done, but none of them are colored. That gives you the perfect opportunity to add your own creative twist on the art pieces. After rummaging through yours and Chuuya's shared home, not a single non-permanent marker could be found. You sighed, but ventured out to retrieve some.
After a long and treacherous journey to the store and back, you tossed the box of markers onto the counter. You couldn't help but feel giddy waiting for your husband to come back home so you could pitch the idea to him. A part of you thought he might say no, but you suppressed that with all your might and looked forward to his return with hope. You waited on the couch, scrolling through your phone. He shouldn't take too long, but every minute felt like ten to you in this moment.
Before you knew it, you heard the rustle of keys and the clicks of the locks. You jumped up from your spot on the couch, staring at Chuuya as he shuffles into the house and out of the relatively chilly and rainy weather. He lets out a sigh of relief before turning to you with a small smile. "Hey honey, how was your day?" He takes off his shoes, hat, and jacket, putting them in their designated spot as he waits for your reply. "It was pretty good, how was yours?" You ask. Upon being situated, he makes his way towards you, grabbing your hands and placing a soft pec on your lips. "The usual, kind of annoying, it feels like no one ever knows what they're doin', you know?" He says, seemingly happy to be home. You nod and understanding and rub his shoulder.
"Yeah, that sucks." You say. He nods, peeks into the kitchen for a second, and sits down on the couch, slouching back and patting the seat next to him. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, slightly revealing one of his tattoos. You take the hint and sit next to him, leaning your head on his shoulder. Your fingers push his sleeve up a little more, tracing the outlines of the imagery. "These are pretty colorless, huh?" You say, glancing at him. He grins a little and nods. "Is this what those markers on the counter are for?" He asks, making you smile. "Yeah, do you care if I color them? I'm relatively good at keeping things inside the lines." You say, sitting up completely.
"I don't see why not. I should probably take this off, huh?" He says, starting to undo the buttons on his vest and then shirt in order to give you better access to his tattoos. You skittered into the kitchen, grabbing the markers and coming back to your husbands side. You gently opened the cardboard packaging before assessing your canvas. The first tattoo you wanted to color in was one of a very intricate flower, so you decided red would be a pretty option. Chuuya watches as you uncap the marker out of the corner of his eye. Your tongue pokes from the corner of your lip in concentration as you drag the marker along his skin, filling in the outlines.
You eventually fill a majority of the flower petals, moving onto the stem. You choose the green marker, holding the underside of Chuuyas arm while you color it. "You're doing a great job there, doll." He says, observing your near perfect coloring skills. "You should get them filled in like this." You joke, picking out another color for a different section. The hums quietly before nodding. "Maybe I will." You look up at him, a bit of surprise on your face. "What's with the look of shock, darlin'? Do you think I won't?" He asks, his head tilted to the side. You shake your head.
"I believe you will, I just think that's sweet." You say, making your new goal to make the colors pretty but unique. He watches the television while you work, making sure that your work contained as much love and effort as possible. After a while, Chuuya started to realize he's feeling the markers on tattoo-less areas. He furrowed his eyebrows and looked towards what you were doodling on his arm. He saw a variety of stars and flowers of your own. They were rather small, and Chuuya thought it was cute that you were making even more additions to his body art.
"You'll have to take pictures of these for me." He says. You hum in acknowledgement and finish up the flower you were doodling before capping the marker and returning it to its rightful spot in the box. You grab Chuuyas phone, opening it and taking a picture of the colors before handing the device back to him. He kisses your cheek in thanks before pulling you back into his side, leaning his head on your shoulder. "Thank you." He turns his head towards you. "What for?"
You look back down at all the colorful doodles. "For letting me borderline vandalize your arm." You playfully say, running your fingertips over his skin. "Don't be silly, it's not vandalizing, it's more of a lawful mural." He reaffirms while looking into your pretty eyes. "And it's cute stuff. It's not like you drew a dick or nothin'." He states, keeping you cuddled closely to him. You smile and give his hand a small squeeze before bringing his knuckles to your lips. "Yeah, you're right." You say with a small laugh. "Still though, thank you." He hums. "Ofcourse, doll, anytime you want."
Tumblr media
A/n; I need the evermore ornaments SO badly. I NEEEEEDDDDD them. I'm gonna cry THE CONEY ISLAND ONE IM FJSJAKKAKS oh also thought I'd post a little more Chuuya before I post a ton of Fyodor because I got two asks revolving around him (I'm actually bouncing off the walls im so happy) and I've been talking up some ideas with a mutual : )
AITA for going no-contact without warning in perhaps the pettiest way i could?
Context: I(20m) had a falling out with my friend (18m) about 2 years ago. We were in this discord server with our friends, and I woke up one morning to find it gone. I asked him, and he dm'd me and began with "I just wanna say, I mean this respectfully;" followed by THE LONGEST RANT about a bunch of things I did (including not giving feedback on other people's art, dominating the conversation, and being "hard to corral into one topic" which i still don't fully get). He said "everyone else in the server feels the same, you make people really uncomfortable." I asked who had what gripes, so I could apologize, but he said nobody really wanted to hear it and this was a mutual decision. I respected that, cried for a day or two, moved on.
Enter a few months ago. I up-heaved my entire online presence, recreating my friend group from the ground up with people who were more up to my style of interaction, and got better with boundaries. We open a roleplay server for a fandom my old friend liked, and it'd been a few years, so I decided to hit him up, invite him and try to mend some things. I was different after all.
Shit hits the fan, let me keep it brief- a different friend (it/its) makes a comment about eating something that's gonna make it sick later, because it has IBS but it's fuckin hungy and wants pepper poppers. The old friend dms it and says "hey, you shouldn't talk about self harm in this channel, it's gonna make people uncomfortable!!!" Which. first of all, yikes, but secondly, nobody else seemed uncomfortable. I was in a vc with my friends which is where it told me about the dms, and everyone else agreed that yeah, he seemed to be overreacting a little. But I started piecing shit together.
Even though I never talked to most of the people from the old server ever again, none of them reached out to me either. Not even to ask for an apology or where I'd gone. I was just kind of relying on what my friend said to be true. I asked someone from that server, and they said that besides a few gripes mentioned here and there, nobody seemed that uncomfortable with me. In fact, many of them- whom i hadn't spoken to in two years- asked where i went.
I got pissed, and probably could have handled it better, but I didn't wanna see his face anymore. So I removed him from the server, and when he asked me why, all I said was: "I just wanna say, I mean this respectfully;" and blocked him. Part of me still thinks about it. I felt like a hypocrite, and wanted to explain what I'd found out and ask him about it instead of jumping to conclusions, but the deed was done and I figured I'd feel better if I ignored it. I do feel a little better, but I just wanna know if I was the asshole.
What are these acronyms?
You know I wasn't going to post about this, but the more I think about it the more it drives me up the walls
So when Luffy and co release Crocodile from jail, it's specifically under the threat that if Crocodile tries anything funny, well, Iva-chan has a trick up their sleeve to put Crocodile back in-line.
So what the fuck was that actually about? What is Crocodile's secret weakness? I'm specifically looking at the way this is phrased in the manga, because the anime's added dialogue kinda messes with what's implied here. But what Iva specifically says is that Ivankov in particular holds the key to one of Crocodile's weaknesses, but they'll stay quiet about it as long as Crocodile behaves himself ("Vataashi wa koitsu no yowami wo hitotsu nigitteru", a very clunky but literal translation could be "One of his weaknesses is within my grasp". The way Viz translated the line is a bit different so I'm not bothering with getting a cap of the panel, you wouldn't be able to tell how these lines were phrased in Japanese based on Viz's translations anyways) (The dialogue Toei added was Crocodile furiously shouting at Iva-chan, telling them to not say anything and Iva-chan reminding Croc to watch his tone or else they'll reveal Croc's past to everyone. A lot of people don't remember this was in-fact added by Toei, hence I wanted to clarify/remind what happened in this scene originally)
And now. Obviously. When Oda went out of his way to introduce a brand new character whose entire personality is being queer and their power is giving people magic HRT. And then like five chapters later re-introduces Crocodile. And tells us that these two have Secret Beef. And never proceeds to fucking tell us what the hell that was about. Yes, the natural conclusion one would come to would be that Crocodile is stealth trans. That is basic, good storytelling. You (re)introduce two characters, tell us they have beef, one has a very specific ability; you're supposed to connect these dots in your mind. So that now, if Oda revealed to us tomorrow that Crocodile was canonically trans, it would not surprise anyone because it's already been set-up in the story, by this very scene. It's a logical conclusion.
But. I'm becoming more and more convinced that Iva-chan's blackmail might actually not be about Crocodile being trans.
Like the general fandom assumption for the past 15 years has been that Crocodile's stealth trans, but we actually don't know he's stealth. He could be openly trans, and between that being a borderline requirement for Crocodad to be real (since he would've been a Shichibukai for years before Luffy was even born) and the possibility that his earring could specifically be a gay earring, like. Yeah. Crocodile could be openly trans. If Crocodile's perfectly happy to let the whole world know he's gay, then him being trans shouldn't have to be a secret either. We the readers could just be unaware of it because it wasn't relevant information to us, and his transition would be old ass news in-universe and not worth bringing up.
And thus, if Crocodile isn't stealth, then Iva-chan can't blackmail him by threatening to out him, becaus he can't be outted.
Now for a while I did considder that Iva-chan could've been actually threatening to detransition Crocodile if he tried anything funny. Surely he would hate that, so much so that he might not have wanted to even hear Ivankov suggest it. But thinking about it. Unless Iva-chan can use Armanent Haki or get Crocodile moisturized, they shouldn't be able to hit Crocodile actually. Like Croc's Logia makes him impossible to hit unless he specifically allowed himself to be touched. So even if Iva-chan tried to surprise attack Crocodile with Estrogen, Croc should just turn to sand automatically, the attack should not land.
Meaning Iva-chan shouldn't be able to detransition Crocodile against his will, at least not without Haki and we don't know if they can use it, so that can't be Crocodile's weakness either.
And so we have to ask the question. What the fuck is that weakness then that Ivankov mentioned?
All we really know is that Crocodile doesn't want this weakness to be brought up, it's a secret. And for all we know Iva-chan might be the only person in the world who knows about it.
And I just. Like.
There is one weakness, kind of a universal one that many people could have, one that has been brought up time-and-time again post-timeskip, one that has become more and more relevant in the story, especially now at the begining of the Final Saga.
A secret weakness.
If pregnancy is what cracked Crocodile's egg and he transitioned immidiately/soon after giving birth, then it's entirely plausible Iva-chan could know Crocodile had a secret child. And surely he'd want nothing more than for his child to be safe, not end up in trouble because of him. And Ivankov most certainly could put that child in danger, especially now that Crocodile was officially no longer on the World Government's side, there'd be no protection for the baby. All Ivankov had to do was leak the information out, that Sir Crocodile had a child, and anybody who had beef with him could get their revenge by attempting to find the child.
Like I'm just saying. This could line up nicely, actually
Zuko Did Not Abuse Azula in the Comics.
I'm gonna do it. After a lifetime of never posting any of my own posts in the ATLA fandom, I am gonna talk about this. "This" is the arguments sprung forth that Zuko abused Azula in the comics, more specifically The Search. Now, I don't think the comics are well-written, but what they don't do in any capacity is paint a picture of Zuko abusing Azula. And despite this, I've seen several claims about how Zuko did in fact, treat Azula cruelly and horribly and let the Gaang abuse her happily. And I might not like the comics, but that's just flat out wrong. So, I'm writing a rebuttal to all the arguments I've seen on the topic, at least, as many as I can remember. What I'll do is quote an argument and use evidence from the comic to rebut it, and hopefully people will stop claiming that the abuse victim treated his abusive sister the way she treated him all their lives. So yeah.
To be clear, I'm not making this post to hate on Azula's character or something. I'm not making this to start a fight, or to make people angry. I mostly made this to express my own frustrations about some things I've seen.
And it's probably a bit too late for this, but if you think Zuko did abuse Azula or whatever, you're entitled to your opinion, but please don't interact with this post. I've tagged the anti tags and placed my text under a read more, so y'all don't have to read it.
This gets long, so under the cut it is. Let's go.
Argument: "Azula is protesting being treated cruelly and Ty Lee chi-blocks her for no reason at all! And Zuko doesn't protest this cruel treatment of his sister! He's abusing her!"
Ty Lee chi-blocked Azula after Azula attacked Zuko and displayed violent behavior. On top of being Zuko's bodyguard and therefor responsible for protecting him, Ty Lee also has a great fear of Azula because of how Azula treated her in their past. Zuko tries to be kind to his sister by bringing her tea and she attacks him. Furthermore, Zuko also protests her being chi-blocked even after she does so. He tries to treat her with dignity and be kind to her but Azula herself is the one to sneer at his efforts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Argument: "Zuko is awful for leaving Azula alone with her abuser! He doesn't care about her well-being!"
I agree that Azula shouldn't be allowed to talk to Ozai. Ozai abused Azula as well, and contact with him would only cause her more problems. However, Zuko doesn't know this. He himself is an abuse victim, and all he's seen his whole life is that Ozai favored Azula over him. And Azula used this to place herself in a position of power over him. She's always tried to drive it into his head that their father liked her better than him and that he was worthless in Ozai's eyes. Naturally, Zuko assumes (incorrectly) that Azula has some kind of special relationship with Ozai that he doesn't. He knows Azula has not had a perfect and healthy life, but he is not privy to the details. He doesn't know what's going on in her head. This is because he is not a mind reader, and she refuses to let herself be vulnerable in front of him because she believes she is better than him and that vulnerability is a weakness.
Even in the comic, she expresses no hatred or fear of her father, and doesn't indicate to Zuko that she does not want to be alone with him. She shouldn't have contact with him, of course, but she refuses to admit that her father is responsible for how she is now and that he has hurt her. She blames her mother, she blames Zuko and his friends, she blames Mai and Ty Lee, but she refuses to blame herself and most importantly, she refuses to blame Ozai. She's still behaving the way he wants, attacking Zuko and, if I may bring up Smoke and Shadow even if it pains me, she's trying to get Zuko to be like Ozai. She herself expresses the desire to speak with Ozai in the panels above, so if she herself hasn't acknowledged the way Ozai has hurt her or how he has abused her, and if she is still under the belief that he loves her, how is Zuko supposed to know any better? He's not doing anything he thinks might hurt her because she hasn't expressed that it hurts her, because she herself doesn't believe it does. And yes, it does hurt her, but it's not Zuko's fault for not being able to magically comprehend that, especially since she has spent her life driving the opposite message into his head, that Ozai favors her and not him.
Argument: "Zuko threw his little sister in an institution! He didn't care for her or for what became of her! He just left her in there to rot!"
What should he have done then? How should he have dealt with her? Azula may be traumatized and in need of help, but Zuko isn't the one to give that to her. He doesn't owe that to her after everything she's done to him, and he doesn't have the capability to help her himself. Azula has always expressed hatred for her brother and has been very clear about the fact that she considers him weak. He tries to help her and she rebuffs him continuously, choosing to attack him instead. She still wants him dead, and she has still not expressed any opposition to the things she learnt from Ozai. She still considers her brother a failure, she still hasn't mentioned that she thinks genocide is wrong, and she certainly doesn't think she's to blame for anything.
Given free reign, she attacks Zuko and manipulates him, and she is obviously too dangerous to let loose. The most Zuko can do is get her the help she needs, which is what he tried to do. I find the whole way these comics deal with mental health distasteful, especially with regard to Azula, but that's a flaw in the writing, not the characters. Zuko could have thrown her in prison like Ozai, since she was complicit in his war efforts. But he recognized that she needed help and tried to provide it for her. I wonder what anyone who criticizes Zuko for this would suggest he should do instead. Keep in mind that Azula is an imperialist and staunch supporter of Ozai's quest to take over the world. She also attempted to kill Zuko multiple times and has expressed no remorse for it.
And also, there is the argument that the institution is abusive and that Azula was mistreated in there. And where is the evidence of that? No, seriously, I went and looked through the comics, and I didn't see any evidence that Azula was abused in there. It seems to be a headcanon. Of course Azula resents being put in an institution, especially when she believes nothing is wrong with her and since she so adamantly refuses to let anyone help her. But nowhere does she mention that she hates it because the people there hurt her or something. And where else could she get help for her problems? Should Zuko take on a second job as her therapist? Should Iroh leave his life in Ba Sing Se behind to come and help a niece who has only ever hated him and wanted him dead? People say that the straitjacket is proof of her being abused, and I don't really like it either, but considering that she is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to attack Zuko, the straitjacket is probably a precaution to make sure she doesn't hurt anyone. Not that it stops her.
And when Zuko does try to help her some other way by offering for her to stay in the palace instead to make her more comfortable, she attacks him. So.
Tumblr media
Also, these comics totally forgot how lightning-bending works.
Argument: "Zuko violently coerced his mentally ill sister to come with him on a mission to find his mother!"
She's also Azula's mother, actually. And he didn't coerce her. She blackmailed him and forced herself onto the trip. It was entirely her own decision to come with them and it was not Zuko who forced her to do anything.
Tumblr media
Argument: "The Gaang attack Azula for no reason! They're threatening her violently!"
I mean, considering everything she's done to them and still hasn't given up on wanting to do, it's expected that they would be wary of her and perceive her as a threat. Remember when the Gaang pulled their weapons on Zuko, and only didn't attack him because he tried talking to them? Azula here is still antagonizing them and is still calling them derogatory terms like "peasant," so she still hasn't given up her beliefs of superiority. Which obviously doesn't give them a very positive impression.
Tumblr media
Argument: "Iroh always expresses ill will and hatred towards Azula and thinks she's a lost cause! He encourages Zuko to hurt her because he thinks she's irredeemable!"
Iroh expresses the wish for Azula to find peace the way he believes Zuko will.
Tumblr media
Argument: "The Gaang treated Azula cruelly and threatened her for no reason! They started abusing her the moment they got the chance to, when Azula was defenseless and unable to protect herself at all!"
Here we have exhibit A, where Aang cruelly laughs in Azula's face and greets her mockingly, while Azula is respectful of the people she has hurt many times over.
Oh wait. He greets her cheerfully and kindly, and she starts ordering the Gaang around like they're her servants.
Tumblr media
Argument: "Sokka threatened Azula violently for no reason and Azula was just defending herself!"
Sokka didn't even do anything to her. He waves his boomerang near her and tells her not to try anything. And yet the way some people will use this scene is to suggest that he was outright attacking her when she was vulnerable or something. And yet she is well off enough to shoot lightning at him unprovoked. Considering all of Azula's actions, they are well within their rights to keep her in control. Would you say Katara was unjustified for threatening Zuko with death right after he joined them? Was she abusing Zuko then? The answer is no.
Azula has been well known for committing many acts of violence against them, including but not limited to pursuing them relentlessly, attacking them, taking over Ba Sing Se, trying to kill them, actually killing Aang, almost killing Zuko, and she is complicit in the crimes of the Fire Nation. She has done nothing to prove that she's changed her ways and that she is now not interested in killing them, and we later learn that she still does want to attack them. Sokka is well within his rights to threaten her since she has inflicted so much harm on his friends and might still do so. But Azula has no such right. The only reason she has so much free reign is because of Zuko's compassion. The Gaang are right to be suspicious and wary of her after everything she's done and she has no right to be disdainful about that. Do you think if Zuko showed up to join the Gaang and shot sparks at them when he got irritated, that they would not be in the right for perceiving it as a threat? Would you say that Zuko should be allowed to act violently with the Gaang in that situation?
She is here because she manipulated her brother and the fact that she is being allowed on this trip unbound is much more than what she realistically deserves. And she proves Sokka right by attacking him. Sokka merely waved a boomerang in her face (he wasn't even that close to her, actually, and he certainly wasn't in her face) and warned her not to try anything, and she tried something instantly. Just before this when Zuko was with her, she attacked him. No matter her mental state or her age, Azula is dangerous and deadly, and she has not changed. They have no reason to trust her. They have the right to be distrustful of her and to warn her not to step out of line. I know people like to ignore the fact that Azula is still an Ozai sympathizer and an imperialist who partook gleefully in the war efforts and like to only see her as a mentally ill 14-year-old girl, but that's not what the show says, and neither do the comics, so.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm guessing it's wrong of the Gaang to react when someone who has previously proved to be more than ready to hurt them and kill them tries to hurt one of their friends. Sure, Azula wasn't going to hurt him severely, but she sure did hurt him enough for him to yell out and fall down. And considering everything else, the Gaang are right to try to protect themselves from someone they perceive as a threat. Sokka wasn't even close to her, damn it. Azula has no right at all to be making demands of the Gaang, and they don't have an obligation to treat her the way she wants to be, like they are her servants and like they are inferior to her.
Argument: "Zuko threatens Azula for no reason and abuses her!"
Azula is someone who has proven to be a threat time and again, and here she is yelling strange things and inching closer with an angry look in her eye. For people like Zuko, it is understandable that this looks like a threatening situation. We know what Azula is talking about, but all they can see is her behaving in a way that could be threatening.
Tumblr media
She yells accusatory things and looks angry, and she is moving closer to the rest of the Gaang, almost like she is ready to attack them for something. And so Zuko tells her that that's enough. And he releases some... steam, I guess? He doesn't even bend a flame. And yet he's abusing her somehow. And then she makes it sound like he's overreacting. If someone you knew was dangerous started coming closer to you while yelling with a strange look in their eyes, would you try to wonder why exactly they're behaving like this and if they're alright, or would you prepare to defend yourself?
And here we also see Azula blaming the Gaang for ruining her life and not, you know, her abuser Ozai. So sure, of course she'd accept Zuko's help when she thinks he's to blame for her misfortune and not her own actions and Ozai's abuse.
I too wish Toph was here.
Argument: "The Gaang abused a defenseless Azula, Part 2."
Defenseless Azula breaks the deal she forced Zuko to make with her and jumps off Appa when they're too high.
Tumblr media
Aang saves her and she blasts him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, we know in this scene that Azula is having visions of her mother and that she's hearing things. We know that she's not exactly of sound mind when she goes on rampages. But the Gaang doesn't know that. Zuko doesn't know that, and he has no way of knowing because she won't tell him. Even when he asks her who she is talking to, she just yells at him and rebuffs him.
Tumblr media
Look at Zuko, saying that he doesn't want to fight Azula with a sad expression. How abusive!
Azula throws the first blow here. She isn't seeing things when she attacks Zuko, she just used him to get here and now she wants to get rid of him. And Zuko is doing what he said he'd do, keeping her in line. And don't say he should have just let Azula go. He wouldn't be a very good Fire Lord if he let the lightning bending imperialist go off on her own.
And then the Gaang takes her down after she attacked them first. So if that's abuse, then I don't know what to say.
Argument: "Zuko abusing his sister, Part 3."
Very abusive, yes.
Tumblr media
Oh, and he finds a secret she's been keeping from him! That's so abusive!
Argument: "Zuko abusing his mentally ill sister, Part 4."
She attacks him first. You could make the argument that it's because she's having visions of her mother, and yeah, she is. But Zuko doesn't know all this because she won't tell him. And also, as it should be obvious to everyone, that's not an excuse.
Tumblr media
Then there's a fight scene.
Argument: "Zuko cruelly held Azula off a cliff to threaten her and hurt her! He's abusing her while she is clearly not well!"
Ah, this infamous scene. Where Zuko holds his weak and defenseless sister off a cliff and laughs maniacally at her suffering while she pleads with him to spare her- oh wait.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously, he dragged her to a cliff just so he could hold her off it. It's not like they were fighting in that environment. It's not like she just fell near the cliff's edge and he picked her up.
I honestly don't see anything wrong with what he did. He's clearly defending himself from her, and holds her over the cliff so that she won't attack him again, and so that he can make her listen to him after she has acted out again and again in a violent and dangerous way. She was attacking him, and this was the only way he could get her to listen to him. If you think he was considering dropping her, you don't know Zuko at all.
Anyway, this is actually one of the few scenes from any of these comics that actually made me feel something. It's an expression of the tragedy of their relationship from Zuko, and also him standing up to another abuser in his life. Yes, Azula abused Zuko, that much is not up for debate. Here, Zuko is finally confronting Azula on the horrible was she's treated him their whole life. I don't begrudge him that. And him saying "since the day you were born," is obviously not literal. Like, I can't believe I have to say this unironically. If people say "I must have walked a thousand miles," do we take it literally or do we understand that it is an exaggerated way of expressing that someone has walked a long way? It's the same thing here. Just because Zuko exaggerates his speech does not mean that the sentiment he is expressing is untrue. This is such a stupid line to get hung up over, but gotta take every inch you get when the whole text is against you, I guess.
Argument: "The Gaang abusing Azula, Part 5."
Where the Gaang verbally abuse Azula who is clearly hurt by their cruel words- hold on.
Tumblr media
Ah, yes. Call the people who are somehow still putting up with you "louts," Azula. I am sure that is a very good and proper way to treat people who have every right to throw you back in jail and be on their way. They don't even say anything back to her. The Gaang has the patience of saints, honestly.
Thank you Sokka for being the one with common sense. I suppose he's also a villain now for saying "she's tried to kill us twelve times" when that's not true, it was only about two times. Which clearly makes it better.
Argument: "Zuko abusing Azula, Part 6."
Azula antagonizes a child, Zuko tells her to knock it off.
Tumblr media
He's being so cruel to her.
Argument: "The Gaang abusing Azula, Part 7."
She attacked them. They defended themselves. It doesn't matter if she saw her mother in a vision. That's not an excuse and it's not the Gaang's problem. It's not Zuko's obligation to help his abuser, especially since she doesn't want his help anyway.
Tumblr media
Gee, all these arguments are starting to sound awfully similar. It's almost like Azula always instigates fights and the Gaang defend themselves. Hmm.
Argument: "Zuko abusing Azula, Part 8."
She attacked first. Again.
Tumblr media
This time she even attacked two actually defenseless people.
Argument: "Zuko gave the Gaang permission to attack Azula for no reason at all! The used their position to abuse her!"
No, he gave them permission to take her down because she went too far and attacked innocent people who did nothing to her.
Tumblr media
Honestly, Zuko should have done this a lot sooner. She's tried to kill them four times already. She hasn't listened to them when they tell her not to do something and she's endangered all of them many times. She's being granted more than she deserves by the Gaang, and yet she goes on to do things they explicitly tell her not to do because it might hurt the forest or other people. She's proven that she is not concerned about who she hurts as long as she gets what she wants, and it took until she attacked people who weren't the Gaang for Zuko to suggest taking her down. The fact that he didn't give the okay for this the first time she tried to kill them is honestly a testament to his character.
Azula had this coming. No amount of the excuse of mental illness is enough to justify her actions. Even if she has a mental illness, it doesn't give her the right to attack others. And Zuko has all the right to defend himself and realize that working with Azula is impossible. He doesn't look happy to be doing this. He looks quite sad, in fact. I joked around a little in this post but seriously, anyone who says Zuko is the one abusing Azula is interpreting the text in very bad faith. I know people like it when Azula is a victim so that they can justify her hurting others, but Zuko and the Gaang had every right to retaliate throughout this comic whenever Azula attacked them or hurt someone else. These two siblings aren't even the last non-Gaang people Azula hurts in this comic.
Argument: "Zuko abusing Azula, Part 9."
Wherein Azula attacks her mother who doesn't remember her and her defenseless family with the intent to kill.
Tumblr media
Now I'm not heartless. I feel for Azula here, I really do. That panel of her with tears in her eyes truly makes me feel sad. She definitely didn't deserve what happened to her throughout her life at Ozai's hands. She didn't deserve to feel unloved and feel like her mother thought she was a monster. She didn't deserve to be abused by Ozai. Azula deserves to heal, she deserves to be loved, she deserves to be treated well and she deserves better.
None of this gives her the right to hurt other people. Innocent people. She may feel her mother has wronged her, but it's not true. And she doesn't get to attack her mother, who doesn't even remember her, out of hatred and anger. She doesn't get to kill this innocent woman and attack her family. And Zuko is not in the wrong for stopping her. Zuko is not the wrong for protecting his mother and her family. Zuko is not abusive for defending other people and himself from Azula. Because even if Azula is hurt, she is taking it out on other people who have done nothing to deserve it.
Zuko redirecting her lightning back at her doesn't kill her, and I'm sure Zuko knows that it wouldn't. He doesn't want her dead. He doesn't want to hurt her. He wouldn't have thrown her over the cliff for that very reason. Despite everything, Zuko loves Azula. He cares about her. He wants to have a good relationship with her. He's very affected by the knowledge that their relationship is so bad. He truly wants to help her. But it is Azula who is resistant to that help. It is Azula who thinks her brother is weak and deserves to be hurt. It is Azula who despite wanting love, chooses to push people away and hurt them over and over again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's saddened at her running away, he chases her and pleads with her to let him help. But it is Azula who refuses him, who rebuffs him and attacks him at every turn. It is Azula who is always the aggressor, it is Azula who is at fault in their relationship, all because she believes that everyone is to blame for her mistakes but herself. And the only way she can heal is if she realizes who the blame truly lies with, Ozai, and rejects everything he's taught her, that love is weakness and to rule with fear. She needs help, but Zuko is not obligated to provide it to her. And yet he does, out of the kindness and compassion in his heart, and the love he has for his sister.
Argument: "He abused her in the show, then! Since this post only talks about the comics!"
That's because it should be obvious to anyone watching that Zuko didn't abuse Azula. If anyone thinks Zuko abused Azula, I invite them to watch a show called Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's really quite good.
So I feel like I've covered most arguments I've seen. But I do want to talk some more about why exactly I wrote all this, why I wasted two hours of my life on this.
Anyone who goes through the ATLA tag on my blog will probably reach the correct conclusion that Zuko is my favorite character, and that he and his arc mean a lot to me. And so, it's honestly not great to see people undermine all of the suffering Zuko has gone through in his life, all to justify Azula's abusive behaviors. It's not wrong to like Azula and love her character. She's a complex character that many find relatable, and that's not wrong. But to accuse another character, her actual victim in the series and one whom many can relate to as well, of being her abuser and denying her abuse of him... it's not a great look. It reeks of victim blaming and abuse apologism. And it's not true. Azula is an example of how victims of abuse can become abusers themselves. This is what she represents in the show. And it is not wrong for people to call out Azula and not Zuko, because Zuko got called out in universe, called himself out and he changed. Zuko redeemed himself and became a good person.
Azula has not done that. She hasn't changed, she hasn't acknowledged that she is wrong, and therefore people are allowed to criticize her and dislike her, and they are allowed to call out her abuse and her other actions. People call out Zuko for his bad actions as well, but the fact of the matter is that he changed, and people don't feel the need to call him out anymore because he's done it himself. Zuko doesn't need the same criticism Azula does because he grew and she didn't, that's it. So all the talking points about how people don't call out Zuko as much as Azula or that they don't criticize his bad actions are moot because of his very widely acknowledged and celebrated redemption arc. Because he realized his mistakes and worked hard to fix them. So, there is really no point in criticizing him anymore the way there is for Azula, since she hasn't changed. And it is not "hate" for people to understand that despite Azula's abuse at Ozai's hands, she dealt the same thing to her brother for years. And it is not wrong for people to criticize her for it.
All this talk about how Azula is always being hurt and betrayed by everyone, and all this talk about how Zuko is weak unlike Azula is the exact same reasoning Azula uses that enables her to abuse others within the story, the reasoning that Ozai instilled in her. It is quite literally the parroting of Ozai's beliefs, that Zuko is weak and soft, and that Azula is strong and powerful and yet she's a victim of everybody. She believes that others deserve to be hurt because they are too weak or because they are responsible for her suffering, and not her or Ozai. In the end, it wasn't Zuko who drove away her friends Mai and Ty Lee, and Mai and Ty Lee did not "betray" her. It was Azula's cruel treatment of them because she controlled them through fear that drove them away from her, and when push came to shove they stood up for the people the loved and for themselves. It wasn't Zuko who drove away their mother, it was Ozai. It wasn't Iroh who hated Azula and wanted her dead, it was Azula who hated Iroh and wanted him dead, and these are all things she learnt from Ozai. She can only ever grow if she realizes her mistakes and accepts the blame for her own actions, and if she stops blaming her victims for her suffering and starts blaming her abuser.
Blaming Zuko for defending himself from her and calling that abuse is victim blaming. Whether you like it or not, Azula did abuse Zuko. She had power over him, she targeted his insecurities constantly, she lied to him multiple times and made him doubt his own perceptions, she manipulated and gaslit him and made him feel unsafe in his home. She supported Ozai's abuse of Zuko and participated in it and took pleasure in it. Zuko never did anything of the sort to her. He reacted to her abuse in a way he never did with Ozai until the end, but that does not mean he wasn't affected by it or that it didn't happen, because it did, and even though he fought back with her, he was often defeated and Azula always managed to manipulate and terrify him. For fuck's sake, he literally had a chant, "Azula always lies," so that he could comfort himself after she terrorized him, something that he's been saying to himself for years according to Zuko Alone. People will point to Zuko challenging Azula as him abusing her back, but what defines abuse is the power dynamics. There is no such thing as mutual abuse. Abuse is all about one party having power over the other, and in Azula and Zuko's relationship, she had all the power over him because she was the favored child. Of course, this was also damaging for her, very much so, but it means that she had power over him, and he didn't.
Azula is a tragic character and her life is a sad one. But that doesn't make her any less of a bad person, and it doesn't mean she is not a toxic individual. Her actions have hurt other in many ways, and she does not feel remorse. She finds pleasure in the pain of others, especially her brother, at whom she smiled in glee when he was being maimed by their father. She took over a city and killed someone and did it with a smile on her face. She tried to kill her brother and laughed about it. She gleefully suggested genocide, and wanted to take part in it. And she hasn't changed, so people are allowed to dislike her and call her out for it. Personally, I believe that Azula has the capacity to change and to redeem herself. I don't think she's too far gone or is irredeemable. She is not as bad as Ozai, and it's not too late for her.
No one deserves a redemption. It has to be something you actively work for, something you do and it is something that you have to work for. Azula can change if she truly wants to. She has people who are willing to help her if she so chooses, like Zuko for better or worse for him. But that means admitting to her mistakes, acknowledging that she is wrong and has hurt people, and making the effort to change, which so far she has not done. And Zuko is not obligated to forgive her or help her in any way, and neither are the Gaang or Iroh.
You can like a villainous character. You can like a character who is a bad person. It's not wrong. What is wrong is to paint another character in a bad light, in a false light, to justify your love for another character. And especially in this case since Azula is Zuko's abuser, turning the tables and calling him her abuser for defending himself against her all because you want to excuse Azula's actions and want her to be a victim is really not great. Accusing Iroh and Ursa of being responsible for her downfall is not great. All this is directing blame away from the real abuser, Ozai. And it veers into victim blaming and abuse apologism, like I said.
Being a fan of Azula doesn't mean you can handwave away her less than savory traits or cherry-pick the ones you like. She is a victim, but she's also an abuser. And it is not "bashing" or misogyny for people to call her out. Calling out Zuko is also okay and allowed, but it is honestly less productive since he changed himself already. I understand that people don't like when their favorite characters are criticized or hated, but that doesn't mean characters who do bad things are exempt from being called out. And it doesn't give anyone the excuse to start misrepresenting other characters and hating on them to prop up their fave. Fans of characters who are villainous should understand that. And in this case, anyone who is a fan of Azula should understand that.
I can't sleep so I'm venting. for the most part i love my d&m readers, but oml sometimes i get qpoc blues so bad 😭😭
It's just liiiike. ppl either don't talk about Mor or completely misinterpret her personality. Like I can always tell if my readers are black or not because nonblack readers no NOT see Mor's significance, or just miss the mark when they talk about her, or they misread her personality. Like I don't understand what's so hard to understand about a cute and thoughtful artist??
AND LIKE LMAO Dom's sexuality gets brought up all the time but no one talks about Mor being a lesbian and how rare that is to find in media 😭 white lesbians are always talking about "we need more open lesbians in media!! ppl shouldn't be afraid to use the word lesbian!! blah blah" and i'm like "here you go!!" and no one claps at all lmao. Like I get it, i know why it happens, i understand racial microaggressions, i know how fandom spaces treat Black women, I UNDERSTAND BUT I CAN STILL BE UPSET. I have the right to be upset about it!!! 💀💀 And I know fem lesbians get ignored all the time, invalidated all the time, but it just sucks to see it happen to my character. I just feel like her being lesbian doesn't clock a lot of people, and I get asked to do more thirst trap art of Mor and I do want to but i'm also trying to be careful about like. Idk reducing a dark skinned fem lesbian to being validated only thru being sexy? LMAO.... Mor should be able to be attractive and lovable without tons and tons of thirst trap art (and it's not like I don't do it at all!! I'm not trying to be overprotective or deny her sexiness but I guess it's considered not enough?? give me a break)
And mannnn I was so mad actually that several comments voiced thoughts that essentially said Mor didn't "help" or "take care" of Dom enough, and that when Dom was finally opening up to her it was "Morgan finally doing something" LIKE HELLO??? HELLO??? It's DOM'S flaw that she can't open up? And Morgan does a lot??? I know immature ppl do not appreciate more soft and domestic/feminine forms of care bc they're used to taking their mothers for granted lmao but wooow I was taken aback. First of all, like, I try to show that Mor is the main cook, works just as much as Dom (let's go double income household), is always checking in on Dom's comfort as she navigates being queer, and is overall a very considerate girlfriend. AND SECOND OF ALL LMAO like even if she didn't do all that she doesn't need to have relationship currency to have a doting girlfriend, like the fucking trope of black women needing to suffer for love is so terrible I'VE HAD ENOUGH AND i"M NOT EVEN BLACK. Like there is NOTHING WRONG with their typical dynamic and I'm sick of people acting like there is. SOMEONE SAID DOM WAS LIKE A COMFORT PILLOW W NO AGENCY AND i"M LIKE WTFDYM???? She has TONS of agency and her sense of agency says she wants to LOVE AND DOTE ON HER PARTNER LIKE LMAO. WHAT?? Why is that hard to understand??? Is it because I made one (1) joke bout Mor being a pillow princess and the anti-princess squad are grinding their teeth in the bushes seething over it? Ppl are so twisted sometimes oh my goddddd. Like as an ace who was very confused navigating the lesbian dating scene as a teen and young adult I WISH i had met a pillow princess. Sometimes ppl don't realize that stone dynamics are very safe for aces!! Dom literally says she prefers it!! It's not Mor being selfish like lord please GOD ALLAH I'M TIRED I'M SO TIRED
and like on the topic of Domi overall she is more "popular" but sometimes I feel like people don't even really take the time to appreciate the significance about her either. She's not just a funny thirst trap 😭 and I feel like ppl dont acknowledge that she's asian half the time. I have so many white aces who only zone in on that aspect of her and it's like YEAH I GET IT, I'm ace and we don't have a lot of nuanced rep but she's also got more layers than that too. Tons of people related to her in the chapters where she talks about her childhood abuse yet very few people really, like, talked about the type of generational trauma that is very deeply embedded in her different cultures, no one saw that and oooof idk idk it felt inivisible. It's sometimes harder to talk about the racist microaggressions that Domi experiences thru my readers bc ppl will argue "well most webtoon leads are asian" but not many of them are asian in a way that like. talk about it. I'm born in the US so my experiences with being othered as an asian is just gonna be different and it's gonna affect my art and writing but it feels so unappreciated. I've had some queer asians relate to her but i can count them on my hand 💀 (I actually think it's two LMAO i"M SO SAD)
And going back to Dom and the comfort pillow w no agency comment lmao. This is another thing that rubs me the wrong way is once again, people are ignorant to the ways asians get pigeon-holed to media roles that have us being depicted as incapable. Maybe I want Dom to be more of a protector archetype bc I'm tired of meek Asian women in media? 🤔 Maybe I want Dom to be a prince-like character because asians get emasculated a lot?? 🤔🤔 Maybe I want Domi to maintain her prince persona instead of being "'physically' androgynous/masculine but really soft and girly on the inside uwuwu please treat me like a 'real' girl" because even in east asian media we won't allow women to exhibit strength and dependability??? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 Like why is a tough girl empowering but once we have a gentle and doting personality in a romance it's considered cliche and the flaw of her partner for being "too weak." MAYBE THEIR PRINCE/PRINCESS DYNAMIC COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER??? HAVE YOU CONSIDERED? I WROTE THEM THAT WAY FOR A REASON??
Good lord this turned into an essay but I have so many things on my mind always
if you read this all. Thanks. I mainly needed to scream into a towel and put this down somewhere bc I complain about these issues to my discord and they understand/validate me all the time, but I wanna give them a break 😭 I also lowkey wanna document my various feelings as I work through Dom & Mor so I can remember and also grow from it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3rd's POV
You knew Miyeon since you were a child but even despite that you could never say that you were very close with her. That still didn't stopped you from developing feelings for the older girl. The one who was close with her was your older sister, Soyeon. Soyeon and Miyeon were friends since elementary school and it just happened that they stuck together until college. Miyeon often hang out at your house which is why you two knew each other, still whenever she was around she mostly was with Soyeon.
But there were moments when you both were able to talk about something together alone. One time that was especially memorable for you was when she came over to sleep at your house with some other friends of Soyeon, during the day she was with them in your sister's room so you didn't see her much until the night came. You just went to the kitchen to make yourself some sandwich and you just so happened to walk in to see her doing herself some sandwich too.
She noticed you fairly quickly "Hmm? Hi Y/N. You're hungry too?" You walked in fully and leaned on the counter next to where she was "O-Oh yeah. I just wanted to make myself some sandwich" She looked at the sandwich she was making before speaking up "Then let me make you one, you know about the one your sister love?" Your eyes widened at her proposition as your heart skipped a beat. She just wanted to make you a sandwich but that simple act of kindness just made you realize why you loved the older girl so much.
Seeing as you were about to protest Miyeon shut all of that down and started making you another sandwich. Accepting that she won't back down from it you decided to just let her do her thing and you continued talking. You and Miyeon spend more than an hour eating and talking and if it wasn't for your sister waking up and going to look for Miyeon then you would probably talk more. Still it was one of the best nights you've ever had and it was all just because of this one moment.
Ever since that night your feelings for her grew more each day.
Miyeon is 4 years older than you so when you were entering College, she was the one graduating it. Soyeon still had her last year to complete before her graduation so she was a lot more busy with her studies and that's meant Miyeon coming over a lot less unfortunately. Still you managed to catch a glimpse of her around the house when she came over sometimes when Soyeon wasn't busy studying but that was about it. You didn't wanted to stop going after her and you even thought about confessing but that all changed when she said that she sees you like a little sister.
This one thing completely broke your heart and you weren't able to just forget about it. It was understandable for everyone that she saw you like that, considering the age difference and the fact that she was best friends with Soyeon but it didn't made it hurt any less so you decided to just give up and distance yourself from her. For you it could do some good and even help you get over her and it shouldn't hurt her that much considering that you never were that close to begin with.
You started focusing more on you studies and friends, whenever Miyeon came over you only greeted her and locked yourself in your room or went out with your friends. It confused Miyeon a lot, so much that she even asked Soyeon about it but only got in return "She's probably just busy with her school life" But that didn't stopped Miyeon from overthinking everything and feeling guilty about it for some weird reason. She knew she shouldn't feel this big empty feeling after not being able to spend even a few minutes with you, you were her best friend's sister after all and nothing more but she couldn't deny that she missed you.
After one of your classes your friend Yunjin invited you to her party that Friday night and since you had nothing better to do, you decided to come. You sister's friends were attending the party too so she was invited there too along with Miyeon of course. You truthfully didn't knew they were going to be there until you ran into them when you were taking a drink for yourself. After some small talk with your sister you managed to escape the awkward atmosphere between you and Miyeon that you weren't even sure why it was there and after some wandering around you managed to find Yunjin. She was chugging down shots along with Minjeong and it seemed like they were competing for something stupid again.
"Who made the bet first this time?" You asked Jimin who was just like you observing the whole situation with an amusement smile "Minjeong did and you know how Yunjin is when someone challenges her" You nodded knowing all too well how the two girls were. They butted heads with each other ever since the first day and they always competed against each other in everything just to prove themselves. This wasn't any different.
"You're taking care of Minjeong right?" You asked as you looked over at Jimin "Yeah and you better keep an eye on Yunjin until Zuha gets here" Agreeing with that you continued watching the two girls drinking all sorts of shots before both of them stopped at the same time resulting in no winner this time. Jimin wrapped Minjeong's arms around her before dragging the younger girl away, you laughed at the couple before pulling Yunjin onto the closest couch hoping that Kazuha will come as fast as she could to take care of her drunk girlfriend.
Yunjin was naturally a very touchy and affectionate person with people she's close with but it multiple when she was drunk so it wasn't new when she started hugging and just basically suffocating you with affection. For everyone there it was so normal that they didn't payed much attention to you two, well expect one very not happy woman basically sending daggers at Yunjin. She didn't liked how touchy your best friend was with you and it took everything in her to just keep herself seated with Minnie, Soyeon and Shuhua.
But seeing Yunjin leaving a sweet kiss on your temple was the last straw for her and before she knew it, she was already walking in your direction. Your sister's questioning yells becoming inaudible as she pushed through all the drunk people dancing around. Fortunately just as she reached you, Kazuha also came over so you didn't had to protest in leaving Yunjin behind and you just let herself be dragged by Miyeon into the nearest bathroom.
She shut the door shut before leaning her forehead against it and exhaling deeply. She could feel your eyes observing her and honestly she wasn't surprised about it, she did suddenly closed you inside a bathroom with her and didn't say a word ever since. Taking a deep breath Miyeon slowly turned around, her eyes immediately locking with yours and before you could say anything more, Miyeon had you pressed against the wall behind you as her lips connected with yours in a messy kiss.
Your head processed everything, trying to figure out if it was a dream or not but the taste of Miyeon's lips just seemed so real that the realization started sinking in slowly. She was really kissing you, it wasn't some weird dream or anything like that. Before she could pull away from you, you quickly reciprocated her kiss as your arms wrapped around her neck. This gave Miyeon more courage to pull you even closer and licking your lower lip asking for an entrance that you gave her. You continued sharing kisses and giggles, hidden away in the bathroom not caring that later you will have to have a serious talk about everything.
But one thing was sure, Miyeon definitely didn't saw you as a little sister and not only you realized that but she also and that revelation was definitely going to change a lot of things between you two.
sid to a furry friend's rescue!
florist!reader gets flustered during sid's calendar shoot
parents mentors for the day
someone's going on a date with chief crosby... and it ain't our girl </3
gif from @matbaerzal
To Sidney, this sham is nothing more than a meat-market legitimized. His fierce, formidable crew, flaunted and auctioned off in the name of "charity," as upstanding members of the local community brazenly gawk and drink themselves into a courageous stupor.
Gathered in packs around the local watering hole on a Friday night, the only things missing are high-res Animal Planet cameras and the calm wonder of Sir David Attenborough. It's only a matter of time before they start throwing themselves at each other like elk during mating season.
It's a shame Sidney won't be around to see it.
"Don't even think about it, Chief."
Sidney slumps; he spoke too soon.
Now, he's caught between cracked-door freedom and the firm grip of his Assistant Fire Chief. Kneading at the annoyance budding between his brows, Sidney turns on his heel to face his childhood best friend.
"C'mon, really? This is a circus, Nate. I shouldn't—Is this really something I should be doing? Y'know, it's not exactly... becoming of a civil servant."
"I'm doing it," Nate shrugs. "You don't see me pitching a fit."
The Chief glares. "Yeah, because you already know who you're going home with."
"Not true; tonight's could be the night Emmy decides to act on her grade school crush," the blonde jokes, his chin tipped across the gymnasium. "And who'd blame her? Flower's lookin' better than usual tonight."
"Nate."
The younger of the two only laughs in response to the dramatic groan of his name.
"No, I get it. You're acting pissy because your flower's stuck at home with a stomach bug, and, subsequently, you've been condemned to the terrible fate of having Cole Harbour's hottest fight tooth and nail for a date with you—oh, the horror! Truly, I feel for you, Saint Crosby."
"Bandwagon much?" he grumbles.
As Nate's grin widens, Sid's frown deepens.
Blue eyes twinkling with satisfaction, Nate teases, "You didn't deny it this time."
"D-Deny, what?"
Nate rolls his eyes; Sid's refusal to acknowledge anything, let alone something so obvious to anyone with eyes, was starting to get old, and fast.
"Yeah, sure, okay. Play dumb if it makes you feel better. But I'd figure my shit out sooner rather than later if I were you."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Sidney blinks.
"Oh, nothing... Just that you aren't the only civil servant sniffing around Blossom & Bloom these days."
With a parting wink, Nate vanishes into the crowd, leaving Sidney to stew in a fresh pot of bubbling unease.
and the plot thickens... hehehe 😈
as always, i would really appreciate if you reblogged my work, left a comment or dropped by my inbox w some feedback :) fandom runs on engagement, and so do writers!! thx a mil in advance!
Thoughts and feelings about Izzy in s2ep4 and what it means to me as a fellow disabled person:
Yeah, so, that episode, huh?
You know, I already knew going into this new season that Izzy's storyline is going to hit me hard regardless of the exact little plot points it might have, but it's only now, several hours after I've watched eps 4&5 that I'm really starting to digest what his story means to me in it's current shape. This is... a bit long. I also mention a character from a different show - Isaac from Sex Education.
Izzy has always been a bit of a dick, right? That's the reason a lot of people hated him in the first season.
Well, now he is a bit of a dick and disabled. And let me tell you how fucking ecstatic I am about that.
You see, looking for disabled characters in media I consume has rarely been gratifying - if they are there at all, which already is rare, they have very little to do, and if they're even semi-important, they're almost always the epitomes of goodness. Nice, understanding, quiet, patient.
Barely there.
The first time I truly felt something change in this area was with the appearance of Isaac in Netflix's Sex Education. He's sarcastic, funny, talented, honest and mean.
The fandom of that show hated Isaac, let me tell you.
It was mostly because he took direct action to separate the main ship of the show that had many people obsessed. As you'd expect. People's ableism immediately jumped out. As you'd expect.
Because how dare he have his own motivations and wants, and to do what he thinks is right?
Barely there.
And now we have Izzy. Izzy, who also did what he thought was right, which in s1 of the show was trying to separate Ed and Stede. He wasn't trying to make himself too likeable at any point (well. when the crew almost mutinied on him in s1 he did do a last ditch effort but. you remember how well that went).
My point is that now we have someone who isn't particularly nice, and now he's dealing with a sudden loss of ability in his body, which is going to make him even worse. He's angry! Of course he is! He's hobbling around with half a leg gone, humiliated, exhausted, barely recovered from impromptu amputation, no anesthesia. And a suicide attempt! He's angry at himself, his body, at Ed, at Stede, at God if he still believes in one, and who knows who else.
He isn't suddenly going to become nicer to people just because. He doesn't need to be humbled.
(a little sidenote: I do not accept the reasoning that Izzy somehow deserved to lose his leg, that "oh what did he expect riling up Ed when he was heartbroken?" etc. He wasn't expecting to get shot in the fucking leg. Nobody fucking deserves that, and if you think that Ed shooting him in the leg and Izzy subsequently having to have it amputated was an "appropriate punishment" for "what he's done", you're just cruel and wrong. Now scram.)
But that's the point. Disabled people deserve help regardless of whether or not we are nice.
Thankfully (not from Izzy's point of view - his pride was definitely bruised in that moment) the crew saw him struggle, and acted in kind. Because Izzy is their dick. And now - also their unicorn.
And it means so much to me that we get the representation of disabled people who thrash around and rattle the bars of their societal cages, furious at the world that isn't welcoming to us, and receive love and care and an invitation to a loving community regardless.
We shouldn't have to be here just when ableds are ready to give. We aren't meek vessels for your good will. Izzy is such a painfully realistic (as far as the universe of the show permits, given it's unavoidable goofiness) portrayal of the anger of someone who's lost some of their body's past ability, and how one might deal with it.
And I really wanted to say something about that, because I'm afraid it might get lost in the discussion about the more popular and more easily digestible aspects of the show.
You were still asleep when Marc woke up. You seemed to be really enjoying your time off from work. Unfortunately, it was your last day before you went back.
Marc snuggles up to your curled figure, spooning you from behind. He slips a hand under your sleep shirt just to feel more of you. He kisses the back of your neck and then your shoulder, thumb lightly caressing your skin.
His actions, though minor, stirs you awake.
"Marc?" you mumble, rubbing sleep from your eyes and looking over your shoulder.
"Mornin', honey, sorry I woke you," he replies in his morning voice that you always find super attractive.
You roll over to face him, scooting closer to him. You peck his lips and he hums. You go for another kiss and before you pull away, he pulls you closer, hand going behind and kneading your ass.
You tuck your face into the crook of his neck, "Don't wanna go back to work."
"Then don't. Take one more day off."
You sigh, "No. I really shouldn't. I've already gotten a load of things I have to do," you let out a deep breath, "How did this week go by so quick already?"
"It was a good week. We did a lot."
You snicker, "Yeah, a lot of fucking."
Marc chuckles, "To make up for all the sex we haven't been having since we've been so busy."
"I suppose. Regardless, it was nice to just relax with you boys," you pressed a kiss to Marc's bare chest and he hums, responding with a kiss to your head.
You fall asleep again in his arms.
____________________
When you wake up again, Marc is up making brunch. He hears you get up and looks over your shoulder, "Your coffee/tea and food is on the table for you, baby."
You go over to him and kiss his cheek, "Thank you," you mumble and plop yourself at the table. You take a sip and smile. It's made just the way you like it.
Marc joins you at the table, both of you enjoying your drinks and food in a comfortable silence.
After both of you are finished eating, Marc goes out to grab some groceries for the week and you figured you'd get a start on some work emails.
That's how Marc found you when he came home. You were at the desk typing away on your laptop.
"Are you working?"
So absorbed in your work, you didn't even know Marc was back. You look over your shoulder, eyes wide like a deer in headlights, "...no."
He gives you a stern look, "Baby."
"It's just a few emails so I don't get overwhelmed tomorrow."
He shakes his head with a chuckle. He places all of the groceries on the counters and proceeds to put them all away. When he finishes, he grabs a glass of water and brings it to you. You look up at him from your seat with a smile, "Thank you."
He bends down and pecks you lips. Before he can walk away, you grab hold of his arm, "Wait. Stay."
He cocks a brow, "Do you want me to stand here or-"
You roll your eyes and get up from your chair. You push him into it and you take a spot on his lap.
"So clingy," he jokes, poking your side and kissing your back. He rests his chin on your shoulder and watches as you type to several correspondences for work. You wiggle in his lap just trying to get a little more comfortable and his grips your hip, "Careful there, sweetheart."
"Why? Am I hurt-ooohhh," you look over you shoulder with a grin, "Are you seriously getting turned on from this?"
He shrugs, "Seeing you go all boss woman is very attractive."
You hum and continue to type away on your laptop. You proceed to wiggle a little more, causing Marc's breath to hitch, "Baby," he says in a warning tone.
With one last send, you stand from your spot and turn to straddle Marc's lap. Your arms wrap around his neck and his hands rest on your hips like before.
You lean in, nose bumping against his, "Hi."
"Hi. You done?"
"For now."
"Why'd you stop?"
"Couldn't stop thinking about your dick poking into me."
"Huh. We should probably do something about that."
"Yeah, I guess we should," you mumble before pressing your lips to his. Marc's hand immediately move from your hips to cup your ass, kneading it as you rock back and forth against him. Through the sweats he changed into, you already feel how hard he is.
You pulled him out with ease, one hand wrapping around him while the other weaves into his hair. He groans against your lips as you begin to pump him up and down.
"So fucking good," he murmurs against your lips. His hands slide up your thighs and plays with the band of your underwear. You were still in the sleep shirt you wore to bed.
You proceed to climb off Marc's lap and he groans from the lack of contact. You snort, "Relax. I want to thank you for how well you and the boys treated me this week."
You lower to your knees and pull Marc's pants and underwear completely down. You wrap your fingers around him again but add your mouth to the mix.
You take him into your suck on only the tip. You look up and watch Marc throw his head back in pleasure. He looks back down at you, your eyes staring up at his as you take more of him.
"Fuuuck. That's it," he places a hand behind your head and gently pushes you forward.
He keeps his hand there as you bob your head up and down his length. You fondle with his balls a bit and it really gets him going.
"Just like that, baby. Fuck, like that," he thrusts his hips forward, holding your head in place as he fucks your mouth.
You stare up at Marc as he watches your mouth take him and you can tell he's close from the way his thrusts become more erratic.
He pulls himself out and you gasp for air. Your hands are on him again, pumping him while your mouth is open.
"Shit, shit! Fuuu-" you smile as he cums all over your face and hands. He slumps back into the chair, but holds out his hands so he could help you stand.
He watches you in a post orgasmic haze as you grab a tissue from your desk and wipe your face and hands.
You chuckle at how wrecked he looks, "You okay?"
"Yeah, honey. Thanks."
You snicker, "No, thank you for this week. It was fun."
He nods, "Take more vacations so we can do it more."
"No promises," you lovingly pat his cheek and go to the bathroom to thoroughly clean yourself up.
When you come back out, Marc is back in the kitchen acting as if you weren't just on your knees for him with his dick in your mouth.
"Hungry?" you ask as you open the fridge and start pulling ingredients out.
The two of you work in a comfortable silence as you make food together.
Opposed to the past week, the rest of day isn't filled with more lust filled activities. Rather, you and Marc, with Steven occasionally popping in, spend your time cuddling, watching tv, and just enjoying the peace before you go back to your chaotic work life.
It's the best way to end your vacation week.
