Tumblr media
in his gaze, an endless sea,
reflects the depths within me.
his silence speaks, profound and wise,
unveiling truths, no need for guise.
with a touch, the universe aligns,
in his embrace, my spirit finds
a home, a heaven, pure and true,
in him, I see the world anew.

the leaves of my heart
there are two types of lovers:
the one you love
and it makes you love yourself more,
and the one you love
and it makes you love yourself less.
you choose (by alex diaz)

letter to milena
when he says: “i want to see you.”
but remember the letter franz kafka wrote to his lover:
“dear milena,
i wish the world were ending tomorrow. then I could take the next train, arrive at your doorstep in vienna and say “come with me, milena”. we are going to love each other without scruples or fear or restraint. because the world is ending tomorrow. perhaps we don’t love unreasonably because we think we have time, or have to reckon with time. but what if we don’t have time? or what if time, as we know it, is irrelevant? ah, if only the world were ending tomorrow. we could help each other very much.”

a sky of clouded emotions
Tumblr media
clouds often serve as a metaphor for the depth and boundlessness of love. just as clouds shift and change, love too can take on different forms, from the serene and comforting to the dramatic and powerful, symbolising the ebb and flow within relationships.
in their ever-changing nature, clouds reflect the dynamic and evolving aspects of love.
the darker side of clouds, such as storm clouds or the ominous overcast sky, often symbolizes the challenges, conflicts, or turbulent phases that can be encountered within relationships. just as these clouds can bring rain, thunder, or even lightning, they represent the difficult or tumultuous moments in love—arguments, misunderstandings, or hardships that need to be weathered to find the silver lining beyond the storm.
love, like clouds, embodies diverse emotions. from sunny skies to stormy clouds, it encompasses both joy and challenges, shaping our connections and revealing the strength found in embracing its light and dark sides.

tear it apart
Tumblr media
her hair swept onto her shoulder with a billow
her face the sunrise to onlookers
she rambles on and on; head thrown back
to just a mimosa, her silent confidant.
a hundred streams of saline meander across
her cheeks flush with emotion
a moment once beautiful, long gone
simply a wistful memory- delusional.
they were truant- her companions
so she built her empty mansion alone
brick by brick, stone by stone
and then tore it all apart, the joy died
with only a mimosa by her side.

the divine veena
veena is one of the most divine instruments in the world originating from india and is one of the oldest indian musical instruments. the veena consists of 3 parts: the kudam which is the hollowed body connected to the hallowed neck and the pegbox which is separated by a partition. there is a total of seven strings that are used to play the veena, 4 main strings and 3 tala strings.
the holy veena was invented by the great sage Lord Narada, the veena maestro, who is a true devotee of Lord Vishnu. he is known to be a master musician and the narrator of tales in the vedic age, spreading his words of wisdom everywhere. the veena is also played by Goddess Saraswathi. veena symbolizes a great virtue that everybody should live together in peace and harmony.
i have been learning veena for the past 5 years. at first, what seemed like an oblivious and apathetic instrument has changed my life for the better. i now feel blessed for learning one of the most divine instruments under my guru's guidance. playing the veena enlightens my soul and liberates me from all sorrows and worries. veena is certainly not the easiest musical instrument to learn but if it is learned with true passion and dedication, anyone can master this beautiful musical instrument!

beauty and the beast
Tumblr media
you'll find her where dreams and stars align,
spinning tapestries and tales and symphonies of life,
in every stitch, every sentence, every song alike,
she weaves wisdom, her creativity lacing starlight.
she's just the perfect beauty, simply aching for her beast.
you'll find him amidst the shadows, eyes coruscating with malice,
spinning disasters and destruction and tragedies of sacrifice,
haunted by echoes leaving heart-wrenching scars,
he bears his claws, venturing out into the moonlight.
he's just the perfect beast, simply aching for his beauty.

the mcdonald's boys
singapore is blessed with one of the lowest crime rates in the world. it stands proudly as one of the top 10 safest countries in the world. but singapore is comparatively safe, not crime-safe.
many cases spiral around our little island, and many remain unsolved today. it’s hard to imagine someone missing in our small country. but this brings us to one of the most bizarre missing cases ever in singapore.
on may 14, 1986, two boys, toh hong huat and keh chin ann, from owen primary school, vanished into thin air. when last seen, they were heading to school. but when neither of the guys showed up for class, a search was launched. their bags and books, which were found under a tree, were all that was left of them.
on august 27, 1986, sightings of the missing boys at pulau ubin were reported. unfortunately, neither of them were found anywhere. the fast food chain mcdonald's offered a $100,000 reward for any information on the boys’ whereabouts, hence why the mysterious disappearance of the two friends is called the mcdonald’s boys case
the investigation went beyond singapore to malaysia and indonesia, two nearby nations.
there are many theories; some say they were kidnapped and trafficked to another country, and some say they were abducted.
sadly, to this day, the boys who were both declared legally dead long ago are still missing, and the case remains unsolved.

shrek- a rather ideal review
Tumblr media
*note: solely for humour purposes*
‘shrek’- a beautiful movie made by disney, depicting that love can come in many forms and ways. ‘fiona’ a young princess driven by love and the urge to shed her unruly form to become ‘human’, now forced to accompany ‘shrek’, a swamp monster as he delivers her to a rather ant sized prince.
a guy with no feelings, a girl with secrets and a prince who wants to see through the eyes of not so small people. as shrek loses his swamp, he travels far and fights a dragon to free the princes to get his swamp back. can this story become more exhilarating?
yes it can, shrek was accompanied by a beautiful and noble talking donkey, who seemed to only know how to while away time by continuously chatter throughout the journey.
at the end we learn that fiona had chosen swamp life over human life for the love she for the monster she had known for barely a week. since it was true love it was acceptable.
the donkey had also had it's happy ending- with the dragon that shrek had to defeat.

golden brown specks are flying my mind, unannounced, has an occupant
going down the floor is crumbling running around holding up your lover
give it a sound, crystal laughter and waves giving in broken like a promise
entwined within soul wrapped around it everyday sin cant just ignore it.

raging pleasure
Tumblr media
anger is a beautiful emotion. though we tend to be misunderstood by the nature of aggression, we try to avoid it.
it is healthy to be angry. anger shows us who we are, where we stand, and what our limit is. it helps us understand what we find to be unjust.
in the end, it is trying to mobilise us and incite action. anger is the peak point we reach before changing oneself. it's not intended to be projected upon someone. rather, it's a motivation and a turning point for us to change within. yet, we don't see it from that perspective. we usually bottle it up until it bursts out. this is where it turns into aggression. so, instead of being afraid of anger, we should use it as our greatest weapon.

the greenbier ghost
hi guys! this story is about a true event that took place in greenbrier county, in 1897, erasmus, a blacksmith, met zoya, and they fell in love. they got married and soon pregnant but zoya had some health problems so nobody except themselves and the doctor knew about it.
one day, he was busy at work and asked his neighbour's son to check on his wife zoya, who was pregnant.
when the boy went there he saw her dead and ran to his mom and told her what happened.
the boy's mother called the police and erasmus came crying when he heard about it. he was with his wife the whole time and didn’t allow anyone to touch her, and so, postpartum was not done.
one day, after zoya's funeral, zoya’s mother went to the prosecutor’s house where she told him that her daughter was killed and that she prayed to god to speak to her daughter one last time.
soon, her prayers were answered and the spirit of her daughter told her that her husband choked her to death. to check, postmortem was done and it was declared a murder.

a gentle reminder
Tumblr media
choose things in life that give you content. choose the kind of life that doesn't make you wonder why you fought all those battles in vain. choose your unapologetic self and without guilt. give yourself permission to love, to care, to hope, to trust the things you crave in life. choose letting go. don't forgive them because they deserve it, forgive them because you need peace. turn those losses into lessons for yourself in the future. choose to move forward into a story that fulfils your heart and feuls your desires. move into a kind of happiness that exists because you chose to fight for it, and you will never stop fighting for it.
as a result, there will be days you'll wake up and think you will feel calm, your vision will be clear, and the world will be yours.

the hanging garden of babylon
Tumblr media
the hanging garden of babylon was one of the seven wonders of the world said to be built in 600 B.C. what is it that makes this garden special?
the hanging garden of babylon does not have a known location, it is surrounded by multiple theories. some say it is just a mythical representation in greek and roman writings while others say it existed at some point in time but was destroyed.
the hanging garden of babylon has a unique construction. there is said to be 4 floors to this garden that has been stacked on top of each other just as in a pyramid. the garden has all sorts of unique plants and artificial waterbodies. the garden was built by nebuchadnezzar for his wife who had missed the greenery of her homeland.
the fact that such ideas of unique construction and creation of artificial water bodies on a terrace garden had been known to people way back in the 6th century b.c makes it one of the seven wonders.
