Pairings: Kate Bishop x Reader
Reader: Female
Appearances: Natasha Romanoff, Wanda Maximoff, and Yelena Belova
Summary: Kate is tired of being treated as the youngest. Y/N shows her that it is not such a bad thing.
A/N: HI! I'm sorry that is has been awhile since I posted. I wanted to thank all of the people who responded and explained how to use readmore! It was really helpful. And for the person who asked about Forgotten Part 2, I normally do not write continuations unless I have it planned out before I post.

It was late at the Avengers tower -around 11 or so-, and you were sitting on the couch reading, while Natasha sat to your left scrolling through the TV to find something to watch, as the two of you waited for the rest of the Avengers to return from a mission. All was peaceful-
"I'm fine! Can you guys leave me alone!?"
-or it was supposed to be.
Ears perked from the noise, you looked towards the hallway where you heard the sound of a door slammed open and shut and the sound of arguing voices and angry foot steps. You bit you lip in confusion as you turned to Natasha, whose eyes were narrowed in concern.
"What was that?" She asked.
You look back down the hallway again listening to the growing voices, and looked back at Natasha. You purse you lips, "Well, I'm not expert, but it sounds like the team is back."
Natasha rolled her eyes at your snark and hit you on the back of the head with a nearby pillow.
"Hey!" You grumble, rubbing your head.
"Don't be a smart aleck." Natasha got up to head towards the hallway to meet them.
"That wouldn't be any fun" you mumbled as you turned around in your seat to face the entrance.
"I was doing fine! You don't need to babysit me. Why don't you guys go take care of yourself?" Ah, sound like Kate's whining.
"We are just making sure you're okay." That voice is sweet and concerned, must be Wanda.
"Yeah, stop being a baby and let us help." And that brash sentiment must be Yelena.
Whatever they were arguing about, it seems as if it has lasted for a while. Natasha was only a few feet away from the couch as an annoyed Kate stormed in, followed by an equally exasperated Wanda and Yelena.
"Hey, what’s happening?" Natasha raised her voice a little to stop their squabbling.
Keeping her head down, Kate tried to barrel past Natasha toward the hallway containing the bedrooms, but Natasha caught her by the shoulders before she could.
"Woah, kiddo! What's the problem?"
Looking over Natasha's shoulder, you saw her hands move to the base of Kate's neck to lift her head up. Kate's eyes finally met Natasha's, and you could see a horrible black eye on the right side of her face and a cut over the bridge of her nose.
"Malen'kiy, what happened?" Natasha asked, the concern was practically radiating off her. (little one)
Kate huffed as she shrugged away from Natasha's grasp. "I'm fine. I'm honestly okay. It's them that you should be-"
"How can you say you're okay, Kate Bishop, when your face looks like you auditioning for a role on Dead of the Walking."
Kate was about to respond when she stopped from confusion while you scrunched your eyebrows.
"Do you mean The Walking Dead?" You ask.
Yelena waved you off, "No matter what it is called, she still looks like a zombie."
"Hey!" Kate said offended. "At least I don't have-"
"We've been telling her she needs to see Cho," Wanda said to Natasha.
"I don't need to see Dr. Cho," Kate argued back, glaring at Wanda.
"I'm not sure, Kate. That looks bad," Natasha said worriedly as she got closer to examine Kate injuries. Kate tried to dodge Natasha as she continued to fight the three older women. You just look on in quiet contemplation.
After seeing Kate's injuries and listening to how this conversation is going, you quickly inferred why Kate was so adamant that she was okay. You glanced over at the other two who came back from the mission to confirm your theory.
While both Yelena and Wanda had only a couple scratches on their face, Wanda was heavily limping, leaning most of her weight against a nearby chair, and Yelena - who was no longer wearing the top half of her suit, showing only her tanktop - has her shoulder roughly patched up with blood seeping through. With the way they were holding themselves, you guessed they probably had many more bruises that you couldn't see.
Of course, Natasha hadn't noticed this since Kate's injuries stood out more and the other two kept putting the attention on her, but after looking over Kate again, you saw that she was moving around like normal. It appears that only her face seemed to have taken damage, which was definitely the least concerning of the injuries in this room currently.
You zoned back into the argument and smirked to yourself as you readied to get Kate out of this.
"Hey, Wanda. Is that a new walk or are you just limping? I can't tell with all the wierd stuff people do now days. And Yelena, I really like the splash of red gushing down your shoulder. Brings the whole warrior aesthetic together," You state with what could pass as genuine curiosity and sincerity.
Natasha stopped trying to examine Kate’s injuries and snapped her head towards Yelena and Wanda, finally noticing their own injuries.
"What the hell are you doing up here?! You two should be in the infirmary right now!" Natasha exclaimed, half mad at them for not telling her and half mad at herself for not noticing.
Kate looked dumbfounded at the sudden turn of events and looked over at you.
Get in the shower, you mouth to her, gesturing to the hallway for her escape, as if it was obvious. Finally getting the hint, she nodded slowly and quickly snuck away.
Both Yelena and Wanda's eyes widen at the suddened attention.
"We were, but Kate-" Wanda started.
"No, you should understand that these injuries need immediate attention," Natasha argued while pinching her nose, not believing that she has to explain this to them. "Yelena is shot, and who knows what happened to your ankle."
"Technically, it is a stab wound," Yelena defended, as if it would help her case.
Natasha took in a deep breath and sighed. "Yelena, you are practically bleeding out, and Wanda's foot is literally dangling. You two are going to see Dr. Cho now." Natasha stated pushing them towards the elevators.
Yelena resisted a little. "Wait, what about Kate. Where is she?" Her Russian accent pointed out. Everyone just now seemed to notice Kate's disappearance.
"I got her," You pipe up.
"See, Y/n's got her. Let's go." Natasha stated firmly.
Wanda - with the help of Natasha - hobbled to the elevator like a kicked puppy, while Yelena trudged over, turning her head around to glare at you as she picked up on what you had done.
You simply smiled as back and stuck your tongue out at her as the elevator doors started to close.
Once they were gone, you went down to hallway to Kate's room. Putting your ear to the door, you heard the faint sound of the shower running, signaling Kate listened to you and was getting the grim from the mission off of her.
Satisfied, you walked back to the main room and headed over to the miniature kitchen area. You preheated the oven then grabbed a frozen pizza from the freezer to thaw on the counter. Turning around, you opened the designated medicine cabinet and grabbed the first aid kit. You placed it on the counter next to the pizza and rummaged through it to see if it had all the supplies you needed. After finding all the supplies, you heard the oven ding, signaling it was time to put the pizza in. You got it out of the box and placed it on a pan. Since you didn't grab an oven mitt, you held on to the edge of the pan and gently lowered the pizza in.
After closing the oven door and setting the times, you go to throw away the pizza box when you caught movement from the corner of your eye. Glancing to the side, you see Kate with wet hair and pajamas by creeping against the wall, trying to reach the front door. It was almost comical how she thought tiptoeing like a cartoon character was a good strategy to escape this situation.
Not making any indication that you saw here, you continued disposing the pizza box and started opening the med kit. “If those are the stealth skills you exhibited on the field, I understand why your face is wrecked.”
You smirk to yourself as Kate groaned loudly. “How do you do that?” A pitter-patter of footsteps followed that ended right beside you. Looking up from Laying out the supplies you would need, you saw Kate standing at the adjacent counter-side with her bottom lip sticking out.
“Why would I tell you? Put the pout away and sit down,” You gesture to the stools across from you. Kate huffed as she followed directions and plopped onto the seat. You hopped on the counter and moved so Kate was in front of you between your legs with you slightly looking down on her.
“What are you doing?”
“This is how Natasha patched my face up after missions. Now shush, and stay still,” You grabbed her chin and titled it to the light in order to inspect the damage. The eye was swelling, and there was a hint of discoloration already appearing. There would be a big bruise around the eye tomorrow, but for now you needed to stop the swelling. However, you decided to take care of Kate’s nose first, in order to get that out of the way. Luckily, the shower Kate took washed away most of the grim from the mission, and you were able to clearly see the cut. It was clearly deep and ran across the the whole bridge of the nose.
“This would have bleed a lot.” You mumble as you absently reach for the antibiotic wide.
Kate shifted uneasily. “Yeah, we were able to find a towel in the jet to stop the bleeding. I had it against my face most of the ride home.”
We fell into silence again as i did everything i cold to ensure Kate’s nose wouldn’t get infected. Satisfied, I reached out to grab a butterfly nose strip that should help the wound close a little faster.
“That’s not how it happened you know,” Kate spoke up, not able to handle the salience, not even for a minute.
“How what happened?” you asked absently, completely focused on apply a the butterfly strip on Kate nose.
“My face. To make it look so Walking Dead-ish.” You chuckled at her phrasing. Kate smiled in response as she continued, “It wasn’t a stealth issue.”
“Then what was it?” You had finished with the strip and looked directly in Kate eyes, so she knew that she had you full attention.
Kate sighed in defeat. “Yelena and Wanda were supposed to do the heavy fighting since I’m still a junior avenger. My job was to stay at a safe distance as support. Be the eyes, assist, take down who I could.”
“And you left your post?”
“Ugh, no!” Kate responded indignantly. You raised an eyebrow in disbelief. “Why is that your first guess?”
“From what I’ve heard from Clint, you tend to improvise a lot.”
“Since when?”
“The Tracksuit Mafia.”
“That was one time!”
“That’s not what I heard~” you singsonged with a smile.
Kate tried to role her eyes but winced at the moment. You decided to shimmy off the counter and walked over to the freezer.
“Anyway, I stayed in place, but someone found where my perch was. I was so focused on helping them, I didn’t notice until he wrenched my bow from my hand and got several punches in.”
“Oh, so its not stealth we need to work on but awareness,” you tease while opening the freezer.
“Please don’t, I already got a lecture from Yelena,” Kate whined. “Although I think her point got lost since she has a literal gunshot wound in her shoulder.” Kate
“Don’t worry. When Natasha hears this story, she will be sure to drive the lessen in.” You state while rustling through the freezer. While you couldn’t see Kate, You could tell her mouth was opening in protest. Cuttings her off before she could start you say, “And, yes, Natasha will know. She is probably already hearing Bloody and Limpy’s side of the story as we speak.” Kate groaned but didn’t protest. “How did that happen, by the way? Yelena and Wanda?”
Kate bit her lip and look down. “My startled cried distracted Yelena, and she got shot trying to make her way over to me. Meanwhile, Wanda flew to my side in a second, he only got three punches in before she three him off. But in her haste, she landed on her ankle really wrong.”
“While that was reckless, and I’m sure Natasha is chewing them out about it now, at least they didn’t come. I mean, I know you love the color purple Kate, but it’s not flattering around the eye” You pause for a second. “Unless it's eyeshadow.”
You could practically feel here unimpressed look. “Haha. What are we doing about my eye?”
From depths of the freezer, you pulled out a bag of peas and tossed them across the counter. She grabbed the bag tentatively with her left hand, wincing before quickly transferring it to her right hand and placed it over her eye. She then cradled her left hand close to her stomach.
“If it looks worse in the morning, we will go down and see Dr. Cho.” Kate was about to open her mouth, but again spoke again before she could,
“Ah! No arguments,” You pointed at her. “You’ve gotten away with not going tonight, but we will see her about you eye if needed. Especially since you probably sprained your wrist as well.”
Kate mouth dropped open as she gaped, “Wha- how could you tell?”
You walked to the med kit and grabbed the roll of bandages. Cutting off a strip, you walked to Kate’s side of the counter and held out your hand. Kate turned to face you and placed her hand in yours as you began to wrap it up.
“You’ve been favoring it since you’ve been in here. I’m guessing when the guy that got a jump on you and forcible took your bow, it turned your wrist a bit too much before you let go.”
Kate's mouth was agape. "Wow, that's amazing."
"Naw, I'm just used to getting injured and hiding it," You nodded. "Natasha was able to catch it everytime though." You cut the bandaged and secured it to her wrist. You stepped back with your arms spread wide and a smile on your face. "And voila."
Kate looked down and rubbed the bandage. "You hid injuries?"
You sat in the stool beside hers. "Of course, loads of times. Never made a difference though, not with those three."
Kate huffed, "Yeah. They are completely overbearing."
"Of course, that what big sisters are for."
"They don't need to look out for me," Kate argued. "I can handle myself."
"Is that why I was the one who took care of your injuries?" You shot back.
Kate pouted. "It different with you. You don't act like them"
"It's because I understand where you are coming from."
Kate raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
You sighed. "Look, you're just not used to it yet. An only child, looking out for yourself, its going to take a minute for the realization that others are looking out for you too sink in. It did with me."
"You were an only child?" Kate asked confused.
You looked at Kate sadly. "No, I was the oldest."
Kate squinted her eyebrows, "You have a younger sister?"
Looking up, you smile lightly with watery eyes, "I had brother. He died in the invasion of New York."
Kate gasped, "I'm so sorry." Kate hugged you.
You hugged her back, "It's okay. We all lost something in New York.
Kate nodded, thinking back to her dad. Shaking her head, Kate focused back on you, "What happened then?"
“Eventually, I was recruited by the Avengers, and Natasha immediately jumped into the older sister role. And I was completely adamant against it the whole tim. I was used to being the older sister and caring for others, not the other way around. And it got worse after we got Wanda after Sokovia. While she was new, she was also older, and so was Yelena."
"What did you do?"
"I learned to roll with it. Found a balance with my new situation, and embraced little sisterness. It has many advantages that I had not previsouly known."
"Like what?" Kate asked.
You shake your head. "I'll tell you later. It's a trial being the youngest in the group, but I also don't need you knowing my secrets and using them against me." You nudge her playfully.
Kate smiled lightly. "What about their overbearing attitude?"
"As far as I'm concerned, they are just looking after us. You can’t exempt the fact that we do get injured sometimes." You look at her pointedly.
Kate shrunk in on her self for a second before remembering the nights events. "Even if it means hurting themselves?" Kate asked a little angrily, "That's stupid!"
You nod. "Yes it is. An unfortunate side-effect I'm still working on." You wrapped an arm around her. "In the meantime, that’s when little sister power comes in. One of the first advantages I learned, which I will give you for free, is if they won't listen to us, we act sweet and adorable, and bring it to the attention of the next oldest."
"Like you just did with Wanda and Yelena with Natasha?"
You smiled mischievously and winked. " Exactly like that. It works even if they get injured in general and are too stubborn to admit it."
The timer to the oven then went off. As you walk over, Kate asks "What do we do if Natasha is injured?"
You grabbed the oven mitts from the drawer. "Then we all band together and nag her until she goes."
"And that works?"
"Not all the time," You say as you snatch the pizza.
"What do we do then?"
"When all else fails, and this is for everything, tell Steve." You turn around and place the pizze in front of her dramatically. "Ah ha!"
Kate perked up. "Pizza?!"
"Yes!" You smile wide as grabbed the pizza cutter and started cutting. "The best way to finish a mission."
You and Kate both drug into the pizza, extremely hungry after the physically and emotional eating. After a while Kate looked at you tentatively. She coughed to clear her throat. "Umm, Y/n"
You looked up at her, "Yeah?"
Kate looked down, "Thank you for taking care of me. You're a good big sister."
You smile. "Of course, and thank you."
Kate jerked her head up. "For what?"
"Allowing me to be a big sister again." You both looked at each other smiling. At least, until you heard the sound of the elevator reaching the floor. Your eyes widen as you started to gather you pizza. "Run! We need to run!" You said urgently."
Kate stood up frantically, not knowing what to do. "Why?!" That is when the sound of thre distinctive voices, one normal, one Russian, and one Sokovian, were heard coming down the hallway. "Should we not check on them?"
"Trust me, if Yelena and Wanda are allowed to come back up here, then they are fine. But if we don't leave now then we have to share the pizza!" You whisper urgently.
Kate'seyes widen in horror,"Oh, heck no!" She scrambles to help you grab all the slices, which was difficult with her wrapped hand, before booking it down the hallway to Kate's room.
Right before the door close closed, you both heard a Russian accent ask, "Does anyone else smell pizza?"

You scaled along the wall of the hall until you reached the end. Glancing around the corner, you could see Wanda sitting on the couch reading a book. A wicked smile came across your face as you got ready and charged toward her.
"WANDA!"
Wanda jumped at the sudden noise, and her eyes widen as she saw you coming straight at her. She barely had time to put her book down as you jumped onto the couch, crashing into her.
Wanda rolled her eyes as you hugged her across the waist. "What the hell, Y/n? You couldn't have made a quieter entrance?" Her Sokovian accent flitted through the air.
You looked up at the witch with a cheeky smile. "I could have, but where would the fun in that be? It wouldn't have nearly the same effect in scaring you."
Wanda tried to glare at you, but you could see the smile she was trying to right off. "I wasn't scared."
You sat up to face her and looked at her in confusion. "You normally jump 15 feet in the air with your eyes popping out in greeting to those who walk in?" You question.
You tried to keep a straight face as you saw Wanda's eyes turn red. The next thing you knew, every pillow in the room was flung at you. You squeaked as you curled in on yourself to try to avoid the pillows, hearing Wanda laugh above you.
"Now this is fun." You could hear the smirk in her accent, as the pillow attack lessened. You sat back up, opening your mouth to speak, only for a pillow to fly in your face.
Wanda covered her mouth with a hand as she tried to hide a smile. "That was an accident."
"Yeah, sure," You deadpanned. After looking at each other, you both burst into laughter.
Wanda was the first to recover. "So, what are you doing, detka?"
You settled beside her. "Nothing really, I just thought I should bug my new favorite redhead."
"Oh, I'm your favorite redhead. Natasha is going to be disappointed to hear that," Wanda teased.
"That's not-I didn't say-You know what I meant." You argued. Wanda chuckled and scrunched her nose as you fumbled to explain. "I meant new as in you just dyed your hair red." You pick up a piece of her hair as if she didn't know. "Natasha's my old favorite redhead since she's been that way."
Wanda raised a brow. "So you're calling Natasha old now?"
Your eyes widened. "Stop twisting my words."
"I can’t wait to tell Natasha you think she's old." Wanda laughed as you hit her with a pillow.
"You're so mean," You pout, crossing your arms.
Wanda raised her hands in defense. "This is just revenge for scaring me, detka."
"Ah ha, you were scared." The newly redhead rolled her eyes in exasperation as you cheered in your mini victory.
"Anyways," You start again. "I have something else on my agenda besides bugging you." You looked at her, and Wanda nodded for you to continue. "I wanted to ask you about tonight. I was wondering-"
"Wanda, I think that's all the luggage." You internally cringe as Vision walked into the room.
Wanda turned to him with a smile. "Hey, Vis. Did you put it all in the car?"
"Yes, I'll meet you there is a minute?" He asked.
"Yeah, see you there."
"Great." He smiled then turned to you. "Good afternoon, Y/n."
You half-heartedly waved. "Sup, Vision."
With that, he left the room. You turned to Wanda with a raised brow. "Luggage?"
Wanda had a sheepish smile. "Yeah, Vision is taking me on a weekend getaway in the mountains."
"Why didn't you tell me?" You tried to keep the hurt from you voice. You couldn't believe she forgot what tonight was.
"Vis only told me about it this morning. He wanted it to be a surprise." She looked at you in concern. "Is that okay?"
You froze for a second before plastering a smile on your face. "Of course, it's okay for you to have a weekend away with the walking garbage disposal."
Wanda chuckled as she hit you with a pillow. "Stop calling him that." She got up and headed towards the elevator. You quickly followed her.
"What? It's not my fault you can't realize that you’re dating a human toaster," You tease. Wanda reached the elevator pressed the button. You both quickly slipped in, and you pressed the floor for the garage.
Wanda groaned. "I wonder how I'm going survive the whole weekend without your humor."
"You don't have to. Stay here. I'll be sure to tease you plenty if you stay." You say it like a joke, but you can feel the truth behind your words that you hope she can hear.
The redhead chuckled at you. "That's an idea."
The elevator opened to revel the garage. Vision was waiting outside the car for Wanda. You walked beside her as she headed towards him.
"Oh, come on," You whined.
"Y/n," Wanda mimicked.
"No, I'm serious." You turned around to walk backwards so you could face her. "Cause I know I can treat you better than he can," You start singing. Wanda rolled her eyes as a smile tugged at her lips. "And any girl like you deserves a real human." You changed up the lyrics.
Wanda snorted, "Shawn Mendes, seriously?"
You shrugged. "A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do."
You turned back forward to find you reached the car. Wanda walked up to Vision and gave him a kiss. You scrunched you nose in disgust.
Vision pulled back, "Ready to go, darling?"
"Yes, can you start the car?"
"Of course, dear. See you up front." Vision got in on the driver's side and started it up.
Wanda turned to give you a hug. "I promise that we can do something when I get back, okay?"
You were glad that she couldn't see your face right now as you frowned. She promised that the last few times she went out with Vision and couldn't hang out, and she hasn't delivered on it yet.
"Yeah, sure." That was all that you could answer.
"See you soon, detka." Wanda kissed you on the cheek then got in the car.
"Bye," You mumbled. You watched them leave before you headed back to the elevator. Hopefully, Natasha remembered what tonight was.
You pressed the button that would take you to the women's floor of the Tower. You got off and promptly made your way to the older redhead's room. You knocked on the door and waited.
"Come in."
You open the door and walk inside. "Hey, Nat. I was wondering-" You stopped short when you saw her packing a duffle.
Natasha looked over at you and smiled. "Hey, malen'kiy. What were you wondering?"
You bit your lip as you decided to change your question. "I was wondering if you knew what Wanda was doing this weekend."
Natasha glanced up at you as you sat on her bed. "No, what?"
You bit your lip to try to contain your smiled. "Her and the can opener went to the mountains for the weekend to suck-face."
Natasha whipped her head to looked up at you, a smile tugging at her lips. "No way."
"Way." You nodded while letting your smile go full face.
Natasha chuckled as she continued packing. "I didn't know they were that serious. Spending the night away is a big step, especially to tongue a refrigerator."
You laughed as you tried to scrunch your nose in disgust. "Technically, he is a robot, does he have a tongue?"
Natasha shrugged as she zipped up her bag. "I guess? I don't know. That's Cho's department. I don't know how she built his body. I don't know what else he does and doesn't have."
You covered your ears with your hands. "Gross. I don't want to talk about this anymore."
The spy laughed as she sat down beside you. She grabbed your hands and tried to remove them from your ears, but you kept them there. "You can put your hands down."
You shook your head, which looked weird with your hands still on your head. "No."
"Why? Do you not trust me?" she asked teasingly, with an evil glint in her eyes.
You eye her distrustfully. "I don't know. Depends on the day."
Natasha huffed a laugh. "I'm not talking about it. I promise. Your little ears are safe, malen'kiy."
Slowly, you let her put your hands down. You still eye her as you as wait for her to say something. When it seemed that she wasn't, you let out a breath of relief.
"See, that wasn't so hard," Natasha smirked at you.
"Shut up." You glared at her. You caught her duffle out of the corner of your eye. "So, are you going away this weekend as well?" You ask bringing your focus back to her.
Natasha looked at the duffle then back at you. "Yeah, Yelena and I are going camping. It was something we used to do in Ohio, and we finally found a weekend to go."
You felt your heart dropped at the fact that not even Natasha remembered, but you kept a smile on your face. "Sounds fun. When are you leaving?"
"Right now." An accented voice answered.
You and Natasha looked over to see that Yelena had walked in. The blonde had her own duffle thrown over her shoulder.
"Natasha, we need to get going before it reaches dark." Yelena pointed at her watch accusingly. She looked over to you and smiled, "Hey, Y/n."
You felt your face heat up you tried to avoid eye contact with the Russian. "Hey, Yelena." You waved shyly.
Yelena smirked at you. "You are so cute. You know that? Especially when your face gets red. It looks like that talking vegetable. Or is it a fruit? You know with the cucumber and celery that sings. Oh, what was his name?"
You furrow your brows. "Are you talking about Bob the tomatoes from VeggieTales?"
Yelena snapped her fingers and pointed at you. "Yes! Tomato Bob, from the VeggieTales. Ha, singing food. You American come up with the funniest things."
You felt your blush deepen at being compared to a tomato, which Yelena did not miss. "Yes, exactly like that. The resemblance is uncanny."
You were pretty sure you were about to burst into flames when Natasha came to your rescue. The redhead assassin threw her arm around your shoulder and chuckled. "Come on, Yelena. Stop torturing the poor girl."
"Now where's the fun in that?" At the glare at Natasha gave her, Yelena raises her arms in surrender. "Fine. I won't, but we really are late, so we need to get going. See you at the car, poser. Bye, pomidor." With that, the blonde spy turned on her heel and left.
Natasha laughed at your flustered state. "I hate to say it, but we do need to get to going. You gonna be fine here? You’re not going to spontaneously combust on me, are you?"
"No," You huffed.
Natasha gave you a squeeze then kissed the side of your head. She stood up and threw the duffle over her shoulder. "See you soon, malen'kiy."
"See you," You mumbled as the redhead left. When the door closed, you flopped back on her bed.
This has been going on for a while. Wanda was always with Vision, and Natasha was always with Yelena.
Two years ago, when you joined the Avengers, Natasha and Wanda took you under their wing. They befriended you and helped you feel more comfortable. They showed you the ropes and were protective of the youngest female of the team.
Soon, they became like your big sisters. When you weren't training together, you were with either one of them or both of them. At least until, six months ago.
During that time Vision and Wanda started to date. You liked Vision, and were happy that Wanda was happy. You would often joke about their relationship, since Vision was was over exaggerated science project, but you were supportive all the same. Soon, though, they were spending a lot of time together. You got that, though, because they were a couple, and you just spent more time with Natasha.
That was until a month later when Yelena came to live at the tower. You heard about her from Natasha and were happy that they were finally reunited. Natasha started to spend a lot of her time with her, but you understood that.
Now, five months later, you felt pushed aside. They always made plans with the others, leaving you alone, but you felt differently about both situations though.
You were kind of ticked at Vision for taking Wanda away all the time. You wished they could go thirty seconds without being together. Wanda started making times to hang out that she could never keep, either because she forgot about a date or Vision surprisingly took her away.
With Yelena it was the opposite. You wanted to get to know the badass blonde, and hopefully gain another sister, but you didn't know how. You are extremely shy around new people. You could barely talk and would get easily flustered.
Wanda and Natasha first saw this when you came to the Tower, and helped you come out of your shell. You wouldn't have been as close with then now of they hadn't if reached out. It took a while for you to be completely relaxed around them and not get flustered, especially when they gave you nicknames in their native language, which you couldn't understand, but you soon got used to it.
You knew it would take time with Yelena, especially since it seems she likes to mess with you on purpose, but you never had time to be around her. Natasha always had plans for them out, and you didn't want to intrude on their sister bonding. The times where you and Yelena were caught alone, you could barely speak and fled the room before you embarrassed yourself further. You wanted Wanda around to help you stay calm, but she was always off with Vision.
That left you in an endless cycle. You couldn't hang out with Natasha and Yelena because you felt like you were intruding. You didn't want to be the third wheel with Wanda and Vision. Wanda couldn't help you with Yelena since she was always with Vision. And you couldn't talk to Yelena on your own because you were a socially shy misfit. It started to feel really lonely really fast.
You sighed as you ran your hand over your face.
Even with this though, they always made time for movie night once a month, usually when Yelena was working and Vision was off doing Vision things. That was supposed to be tonight. You were going to ask them what they wanted to watch, but it seemed like the both forgot.
Taking breath in a deep breath, you decide to get up and find something to distract you from your disappointment. Maybe Sam and Bucky were playing videos games. You started hanging out with them more during these months and were thrilled when you found out that you could beat them at Mario Cart.
You found them in the living room, they called you to join. Sam was whining about how Bucky cheated by using a blue shell. You laughed and joined them, thinking in the back of your mind that you will see your favorite redheads in a few days, and maybe you could do something when they got back.
------
Turns out you couldn't. On the day that they were supposed to return, you got called in for a mission. It was supposed to be a simple reconnaissance mission, but it didn't turn out that way.
S.H.I.E.L.D. had tabs on this very wealthy and powerful individual housed in Paris. His business dealings have been less than favorable, but not something that would usually alert their suspicions. That was until it seemed that Hydra was interested in him. While that was usually not his business, he would be greedy enough to consider working with them for power, and Hydra could benefit greatly from his money and influence.
So far it didn't seem like they were in contact, but S.H.I.E.L.D. decided to keep eyes on him in case he was approach by Hydra or brokered any deals related to Hydra. There was usually a rotation of agents watching him, and sadly, you got picked to go next. Basically, you were a babysitter.
You were only going to be stationed there for a week under the pretense of vacation, and just follow him around. It was fine the first two days, until he led you to a warehouse of the third where you were jumped. Turns out he was affiliated with Hydra.
Apparently, the agent before you was made, and told them the next agent to come was an Avenger in order to save his own skin.
You were able to fight off a good chunk of them before you were captured and tied to a chair. The fourth day you spent being interrogated for information and figuring a way out. About 1 A.M. on the fifth day, they made a mistake with your bindings, and you were able to get free.
You disarmed anyone who had a gun and disabled it, choosing to fight with your fist instead. After fighting you don't know how many people, you escaped the warehouse and fled into the early Paris morning. That day you spending finding a hiding spot and resting and treating any wounds.
There was no way to contact S.H.I.E.L.D or the Avengers, since Hydra's new connection could track any way of communication, and this was already a no contact mission, with reports only being made when the agents either returned or through an emergency device if the guy was found with Hydra, which they took from you and destroyed.
All you had to do was what for the extraction that was supposed to pick you outside of Paris the seventh day at noon, which unfortunately was to take place on the other side of the city. On the sixth day, you carefully made you way across Paris, avoiding the open and sticking to the alleys.
On the seventh day, you were spotted, leading you to disarm and disable any guns. You quickly stole a car, and a car chase ensued through the rest of Paris to the extraction point. When you reached the quinjet, you quickly exited the car and boarded, yelling at the startled pilot to take off.
Once the excitement settled down, you refused medical treatment and requested the pilot to take you to Avenger’s tower instead of the Triskelion. When you reached the tower, you were meat with the face of Maria Hill, her happy face quickly turned to panic and concern at the look of you.
"What the hell happened!?" Maria asked, rushing to your side. You stumbled as you walked; the exhaustion and injuries hitting you now as the adrenaline faded. She threw your arm over her shoulder and put her arm around your waist to support you.
You didn't really notice as you search the hanger. After a mission, Natasha and Wanda always greeted you, sometimes only one if the other was on a mission.
"Where's Nat and Wanda?" You asked faintly, still looking around.
Maria reached for her comm. "Steve, get up here now! Y/n is injured. I need help getting her to Cho." She got off before he could reply and turned her attention back to you.
"Y/n," she called firmly but gently when you still looked around the hanger.
You faced her and she could see that your eyes unfocused. "Where's Nat and Wanda?" You repeated.
Maria shook her head. "I don't know. Y/n, I need you to focus. Can you tell me what happened?" Maria led you over to the wall to sit down as you waited for Steve.
When you still looked unfocused, she patted your cheeks a few times. "What happened?"
She could see your eyes focus back as you turned your attention to her. "He's with Hydra. The business guy. The agent before me told them I was gonna be on the mission, and Hydra ambushed me."
Maria's jaw set in a hard line as Steve came running around the corner. "Y/n! What happened?" He asked coming to a stop in front of you.
Maria turned to him. "Steve, take her to medical stat. I'll be there soon to inform you; I need to take care of some things first."
Steve nodded and picked you up bridal style taking you to where Cho would be in medical.
------
To say that you were one very lucky individual would be an understatement. You somehow didn't get shot throughout the whole ordeal, but you your left arm was all scratched and bloodied from when Hydra shot at your car. The bullets missed you but broke your side window. The glass cut you left arm when you brought it up to protect you. Since Hydra took you jacket when they captured you, your arms were bare. It took a while to get all the glass out, but after, Cho cleaned you up and wrapped it.
Your whole body, but mainly your torso, was bruised from being jumped on. You had plenty of defensive wound on your arms, from protecting your face during the beating and other times, and your knuckles were split and bleeding from punching all those Hydra soldiers, who were mainly wearing armor. There was nothing to do about the bruises except take a lot of aspirin, but Cho put some sort cream on your knuckles and wrapped them up as well.
Surprisingly, you had few injuries to your face, you were able to duck and block during the fights, the only times they hit you in the face were during the interrogation, resulting in a split lip. The only other concerning injury was a gash on the side of your forehead, where you were a bit late to dodge a guy with a rock, and he scraped you. That just required a couple butterfly strips.
While you were getting checked, Maria came back with news that they apprehended the agent who broke your cover when he was trying to run. You debriefed her a Steve about everything that happened because you didn't want to do it later.
During all this, though, you kept looking at the door waiting for either Natasha, Wanda, or both to come in, but they never did. You asked Steve where they were, and he said Wanda was watching a movie with Vision, and Natasha was training with Yelena. When he asked if you wanted him to get them, you shook your head and told him it was okay. You didn't want to bother them, and it was okay if they forgot about you, you were used to it. He frowned but nodded, then carried you down to your room.
When Steve reached the door, he told you to rest and someone would be down with food later. You thanked him and closed the door. Finally, you could rest.
First, you hopped in a long hot shower to get all the grime, dirt, and sweat off you. Luckily, all the bandages and other stuff they put on you were water proof. When you got out, you put on you favorite baggy shirt on and some shorts. You took the medicine that Cho gave you and flopped as carefully as you could onto the bed. Too lazy to actually get under the covers, you grabbed the blanket at the foot of the bed and wrapped it around you. The minute tour head hit the pillow you were out, wishing you had your two redheads with you.
------
Meanwhile, two floors below, Wanda and Vision were watching a movie, except Wanda wasn't really focused on it. There was a nagging feeling in the back of her mind that she forgot something. She was so focused on figuring out what it was that she didn't notice Vision pause the movie and talk to her. Only when he grabbed her shoulder, she jumped and looked over at him.
"What? What is it, Vision?" She asked startled.
The android looked at her with concern. "Are you okay, Wanda? You don't seem to be having a good time. Is it the movie? I could change it." He said already reaching for the remote.
"Nonono, it's not the movie, Vis," Wanda said, reaching to stop him. "I'm just feel like I'm forgetting something. Something important."
Vision tilted his head. "I have heard that if you try to not think about it, people often remember. The distraction seems to help the brain process."
Wanda hummed. "Okay, let's go back to the movie. Maybe paying attention to it this time will help."
Vision nodded and started it up again. Wanda cuddled against him and tried to pay attention, but the feeling still stayed in the back of her mind.
------
Over in the gym, Natasha and Yelena were sparing hard on the mat. After a few tries, they both got each other in a hold that they struggled to get out of.
"Truce," Natasha offered, straining under the hold.
"Truce," Yelena agreed, equally hurting.
They both let go and laid down on the mat, catching their breaths. After a minute Natasha sat up.
"Want to go again?" She asked the blonde.
Yelena looked over at the clock hanging by the door. She sat up as well and looked at her sister uncertain.
"I don't know. Isn't Y/n supposed to come back from her mission today? Don't you usually meet her when she comes home?"
Natasha grimaced when she realized what day it was, having forgotten. Looking at the time, she felt her heart drop at the fact that you would've returned about two hours ago.
She sighed as she looked to Yelena. "She should already be home by now, but Wanda would've been up there to greet her. It shouldn't hurt to go a few more rounds."
Yelena raised a brow. "Are you sure?"
Natasha nodded, there was nothing she could do now for missing your return; she would just have to make it up at dinner. Besides, the redhead knew what mission you had and it was relatively simple. Nothing bad should've happened.
------
It was dinner time at the compound, and everyone joined together in the dining room. Natasha came in with Yelena and looked around to see Sam finishing with the cooking and mostly everyone seated at the table. She frowned when she saw Wanda sitting at the table with Vision but no sign of you. Turning to Yelena, she asked her sister to save her a spot and went over to the witch.
“Hey, where’s Y/n?” Natasha asked when she reached the couple. Wanda looked up at Natasha in confusion only for her eyes to widen in realization. You were supposed to return home today.
“I-I don’t know,” Wanda stammered. Natasha felt worry build up inside her at Wanda’s confession. She grabbed the witch's arm and dragged her to the corner of the room.
“What do you mean?” The spy asked panicked.
Wanda felt dread settle inside her. “I forgot. I was watching movies with Vision, and it must have slipped my mind. What about you?”
Natasha clenched her teeth. “I was training with Yelena. By the time I realized she should be home, it was already two hours past, and I thought you met her.”
Wanda started to wringing her hands in worry. “If neither of us met up with her then where is she?!”
“And why hasn’t she checked in with us?” Natasha finished a bit more calmly, the opposite of how she felt.
Ever since you joined the Avengers, one or both of them always met you when you came back from missions. They knew you had no family left, at least not any that cared, to come back to and wanted you to feel that with them. To feel wanted. Not forgotten and alone.
“Hey! Redheads! How’s the Shadow doing,” Tony asked as he sauntered into the room, Peter in tow behind him. The residents of the tower have been calling you their shadow ever since you first joined because at the beginning you only felt comfortable with them and followed them everywhere. “She is one tough girl. I’ll tell you that, to survive that whole week.”
Natasha felt her blood run cold and saw the color drain from Wanda’s face. She quickly turned to Tony. “What do you mean?” she asked urgently.
By now the rest occupants of the room started to take notice of the conversation.
Tony looked over at her confused. “You know. The mission. How it turned out? I thought you guys would have the most information of how she’s doing.”
Natasha narrowed her eyes at him. If he didn’t start explaining now, she was gonna kill him. “Tony, I’m going to ask you this one more time. What the hell are you talking about?” she asked through gritted teeth. She could feel the worry and panic building up in Wanda, and how Yelena touched her arm to help calm her down.
“He’s talking about how Y/n was compromised,” a voice answered from the door. Everyone turned to the door to see Maria and Steve walk in. Natasha’s eyes widen and she heard Wanda gasp beside her.
“What do you mean? How could that have happened?” Natasha asked, putting on an emotionless face. Maria threw a folder on the table, which she promptly picked up. She opened it and felt Wanda come close to look over her shoulder.
“The business man Y/n was tailing turned out to be affiliated with Hydra after all. The agent before her was found out and traded Y/n to save his own skin. Y/n was ambushed on the third day and spent the rest fighting through Paris in order to make it to extraction.” Marian explains.
Wanda covered her mouth to hide a sob when she reached over to pull the photos taken of you as you were being patched up. There was a list of the injuries to go with it. It was smaller than she thought, but made her blood boil either way. She felt tears come to her own eyes, but blinked them away, deciding to focus on the feeling of hatred.
“What of the agent?” Natasha asked with a steely voice.
Maria looked her in the eye. “Taken care of.”
Natasha held her gaze for a moment then nodded.
“Where is she?” Wanda asked with a shaky voice.
“In her room,” Steve answered. “She wanted to rest.”
“Why weren’t we alerted to this?” Both of them asked.
“What a second here?” Tony interrupted taking the file from Natasha and scanning it. “Why didn’t you know about this already?”
Natasha glared daggers at the billionaire. She opened her mouth about to snark at him but someone started talking.
“Wait? Why would they know about Y/n?” Peter asked confused. Everyone turned in to look at him incredulously causing him to shrink in on himself. He had only been there for about two months and thought he said something wrong.
“What do you mean? Why wouldn’t we know?” Wanda asked the boy, her accent thicker from trying not to cry.
“I-I don’t-It’s just-” Peter stammered.
“They're the ones Y/n is closest to or supposed to be,” Tony clarified for Peter. Both Wanda and Natasha felt their heart clench when he said supposed.
“Oh,” Peter exclaimed. “Sorry, I didn’t know. I’ve never seen you hang together or anything,” he confessed rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
“That’s because they haven’t,” Bucky spoke up. Natasha narrowed her eyes at the super soldier.
“Something you want to say, Barnes?” Natasha asked venom in her voice. She raised an eyebrow to try to intimidate him, but he just met her look.
“You heard me, Romanoff. Ever since Wanda started to date the tin can and Yelena returned, neither of you have been spending time with her.”
Wanda shook her head. “No, we hang out.”
“Really? Because we've been playing a lot of video games with each other these past few months, and I don't remember either of you being there,” Sam commented, joining in. “When was the last time you hung out besides movie night? And on that note, when was the last movie night?”
Natasha froze. They hadn’t hung out really since Yelena come back, and she knows for a fact that since Wanda and Vision started dating, she wasn’t around either, and she felt her blood turn to ice when she realized that last weekend was supposed to be movie night, but apparently the both of them forgot that as well.
Glancing over at the younger redhead beside her, Natasha could see the heartbreak in Wanda's eyes when she realized it as well.
"Why-" Wanda stopped for a moment to clear the tears from her throat. "Why hasn't see mentioned anything then?"
Natasha closed her eyes. She knew the answer, she knew Wanda did as well. It was the one thing they have been trying to help you with they were just hoping they were wrong.
Bucky's eyes softened just a bit, "Because, Y/n doesn't want to bother you. She's happy that you found what makes you happy, no matter how much she feels left out. Wanda, she cares about your happiness more than some of the resentment she feels at Vision for stealing you away. And Natasha, she knows how important your sister is to you, and she didn't want to intrude on your bonding time. She's mainly frustrated with herself about not being able to get to know Yelena better because of her shyness. She's okay with being pushed aside for that."
Natasha stared frozen at the table after hearing what Bucky said. Wanda started crying again, and Vision wrapped her in a huge trying to console her. Natasha felt a few of her own tears fall from her her cheeks and felt Yelena wrap her up in a side hug.
Her voice was thick with emotion as she re-asked her question from earlier. "Steve, why weren't we erred to this?"
Steve looked down at the table. "She said that she didn't want to bother you guys."
Natasha narrowed her eyes, knowing it wasn't the whole truth. "And?" She promoted.
Steve sighed and looked her in the eyes. "She said that she was okay with being forgotten. That she was used to it."
Natasha felt her heart break as Yelena squeezed her tighter.
Wanda wasn't much better. She sat back from Vision and wiped the tears from her eyes. "I need to go. I need to check up on her." She quickly exited the room.
Natasha looked over at Yelena. "Yelena-" She started.
"Go," Yelena interrupted. She knew how important you were to her sister, and how much this must be hurting her. And Yelena would hope that after this, she could spend more time with you too. She already liked you, especially teasing you. But she wanted to be as close as her sister and Wanda were as well. It would be pretty cool to have a younger sister. "You don't need to be with me all the time. I'll be fine. I'll just spend the night kicking bird brain and old man’s asses in Mario Cart."
"Hey!" Sam and Bucky yelled, both offended.
Natasha huffed a watery laugh. "You sure?"
Yelena nodded. "Yes. It would be so not cool of me to keep you here. Go. Make sure Y/n is all right."
Natasha kissed her sister on the side of her head then hurried to catch up with Wanda. She knew they both messed up big, and needed to fix this fast.
------
Wanda rushed down the hallway to the elevator. She practically ran into the wall as she reached it, pressing the button repeatedly in an effort to hurry the elevator to open.
She heard footsteps running to her from behind, stopping beside her. The witch glanced over and saw Natasha next to her, looking about as impatient as as she was for the elevator.
When the door finally opened, they rushed in. Wanda went to press the button that led to the floor your room was on but Natasha reached it first. It was silent in the elevator as it traveled down.
Wanda wiped the few tears that where still streaming down her face, telling herself to pull it together. Glancing over, she could see that Natasha was just as distressed as she was, fidgeting with her hands in an effort to distract herself.
The door opened, and they hurried to your door. Natasha stopped first and hesitated opening it. She looked up to Wanda, who nodded, and she opened the door.
When she walked in, Wanda’s eyes were instantly drawn to you. Wanda’s eyes watered at seeing you, but she quickly wiped them before they could fall. You were curled up on the bed on your side with just a blanket over you. Walking closer to you, Wanda could see where your hands peaked out from under the covers, wrapped in bandages.
Natasha reached over and moved the blanket a bit down to see that you left arms were covered in bandages as well. From glass because the car widow broke, Wanda thought back to the report. Apart from that, they could see the many bruises and minor cuts covering you the.
Looking up at you face, Wanda could see the split lip as your hair covered the rest of your face. Carefully, as if she would break you, Wanda brushed the hair out your face, and they could see the gash on your forehead.
But that wasn’t the worse. She could feel the loneliness radiating off of you. It made her feel a hundred times worse. How could see not have noticed this until now? She was a freaking mind reader, but she just found out how much you have been struggling. Guilt and shame washed over her in waves. She could feel the same pouring off of Natasha. Looking up at the spy, Wanda could see the swirl of emotions in her eyes.
Natasha sat down on your bed close to your waist grabbing you hand while Wanda sat close to your head, running her hand through your hair.
“We really messed up,” Wanda whispered hoarsely.
Natasha nodded. “Yeah, we did.” Looking at you, Natasha could see you were shivering in your sleep, the blanked having not been enough to keep you warm for a while. “Then lets do something about it.”
Wanda nodded and reached to gently shake your shoulder. “Detka, wake up.”
You stirred a little in your sleep, but otherwise nothing.
“Come on, malen’kiy. It’s time to wake up.” Natasha said shaking you a bit more firmly.
You groaned a bit and drearily blinked your eyes open to see Wanda holding your hand and Natasha running her hand through your hair.
“What-” you croak out groggily, you throat dry. Wanda grabbed the glass by your bed from when you took your medicine and held it out to you. You groaned as you Natasha helped you sit up, your muscles protesting, and took the offered glass.
Natasha noticed your strain and found the pain relief medicine on your night stand. She got a few pills out and and gave them to you. You took it without protest and swallowed them. You gave the drink to Natasha, who put it back on the bedside, and shivered.
“Lets get you under the covers,” Wanda stated. Wanda helped you scoot up on the bed while Natasha pulled the covers down. You slipped underneath and they pulled the covers over. Wanda took her spot beside you while Natasha crawled on the bed to your other side but sat in front facing you. You leaned heavily on Wanda as the exhaustion hit you, but they could see the confusion clear and alert in your eyes.
“What you doing here?” You ask, still a little groggy from sleep.
Natasha grabbed your hands running her fingers under her knuckles. “You’re hurt. Why wouldn’t we be?” she asked.
You looked down at that and shrugged.
“Y/n,” Wanda asked, lifting your chin to look up at her. “Why didn’t you tell us that you were hurt.”
You bit your lip, and Wanda could see the tears starting to form in your eyes. “You were busy. I didn’t think it was important, and I didn’t want to bother you.”
They could tell that it wasn’t the whole truth. Even if they already knew, they need you to tell them, to help yourself as much as much as them. They wanted to help you know that you can talk to them about anything.
“Y/n,” Natasha called. You turned your watery gaze to her, and she looked you in the eyes. “You are injured, and nothing will stop us from coming to you when you need us. Why didn’t you tell us?”
“Why weren’t you at the hanger!?” You snapped. You were exhausted and sore and speaking without thought now. Everything that you have felt over the past few months that you tried to hide, rushing back to you at once. “You guys are always there to meet me after a mission. Where were you then?”
It hurt to admit it, but they both knew why. You looked between them when they didn’t answer.
“You forgot.” It wasn’t and accusation just a statement. “Just like you forgot movie night the other day. Just like you guys have forgotten me.” You finished brokenly.
Turning away from them because you didn’t want them to see the tears that finally fell, you brought your hands to your eyes trying to wipe them away. You sniffled to try to stop your runny nose, and your body shook in the effort conceal your sobs.
Wanda couldn’t stop her anymore, and her tears fell freely as she wrapped both arms around you in a hug. You fought for a second as she brought you closed before sinking into her side.
Natasha felt tears in her own eyes at the admission, hearing it from your own mouth making the words more real. The ex-assassin reached forward and grabbed your hands.
“Y/n, look at me,” Natasha requested, voice full on emotion. You kept your hands over her face as you shook your head. “Please look at me.”
You slowly lowered your hand. Natasha and Wanda crumbled at seeing your red eyes and runny nose, especially since they were the cause of it. Natasha reached over and placed her hands on your cheeks wiping away some of the tears there.
“We are so sorry, malen’kiy. We would never willingly forget you, and we’re so sorry.”
“It’s okay,” You weekly tried.
“No, it is not okay,” Wanda joined in. “You are important to us, and we should have never pushed you away. We’re sorry. I’m sorry. I love you so much, and I am so sorry that I haven’t been there. You have always been there for me. Gosh, you’re like a younger sister to me. You are my younger sister. I’m so sorry,” She broke off crying.
The brutal honesty in which she spoke shocked you. You could hear the guilt and shame in her voice, but the strongest thing you took notice of was love.
You tried to shake your head, but Natasha held your firmly in her grip. You were stuck looking at her green eyes that you could see held deep regret and guilt, but also mainly love.
“Listen to me. We love you. We care about you. You are important, so, so important to us, to me. You are my other sister. Please forgive us.” Natasha whispered in the end, finally letter her own tears fall.
You didn’t say anything as you dropped your head. They held their breath as nothing happened, but then they saw you nod your head slowly. Wanda cried in relief as she held you tighter. Natasha huffed a watery laugh and came to your other side to hug you.
As they held you close, they heard you whisper, “Of course, I forgive you. You’re my sisters as well.”
You three just sat their crying and holding each other. You enjoyed being surrounded by your redhead again, and their touch helped you calmed down faster. When the crying and sniffling finally stopped, Natasha decided to break the silence.
“Why do you think you would bother us, malen’kiy?” Natasha asked softly.
You shrugged. “You were with Yelena. I know how much your sister means to you. I’m not going to intrude on that. And, Wanda, you were with Vision. He makes you happy, I didn’t want to ruin that.”
“You wouldn’t have ruined anything, dekta,” Wanda reassured you.
“I didn’t want to be the third wheel, and I didn’t want to intrude on couple time. I like him, no matter how much I wanted to put him in the garbage compacter when he took you away,” You weekly joke.
Natasha snorted, and Wanda chuckled. “Well, I think I’ll be sticking around more. What was it you said before I left? Cause any girl like you deserves a real human,” She repeated your version of the song.
You huffed a laugh.
“And you are always welcomed with me and Yelena.” Natasha spoke up. You tried to interrupt, but Natasha held out a finger to stop you. “Yes, we wanted time to catch up, and we got that. We’re not going anywhere soon. You could’ve joined us. Yelena wouldn’t have minded. She already likes you. She keeps making jokes that she will steal you from us and become your favorite sister.”
You looked away with a blush. Natasha raised her brow, a teasing glint in her eyes. “Are you still so shy? I thought we took that out of you.”
“Nat,” you whined.
“No, she is right, detka,” Wanda joined in. You blushed again at the name.
“What is that we see, malen’kiy?” Natasha asked. You blushed deeper. She smirked. “It’s been a while since you blushed at the nicknames.”
“Uh, give me a break. I’m injured and tired, and I still don’t know what they mean,” you weekly defended, hating that you feeling as embarrassed as the first day you met them.
You were saved from a knock to the door, at least you thought. You nodded to them that whoever it was could come in, and Natasha called them in, only for Yelena to come in the door bearing a large tray with three plated on it.
“Hiiii,” The blonde assassin sang, making her way over. “So sorry to interrupt this healing and bonding experience, but you all need to eat.” She handed the tray over to Natasha who set it on the bed. Yelena then pointed at you. “Especially you, pomidor. Heard you didn’t almost all week and nothing when you came home. Completely irresponsible. You don’t want to end up like Natasha here.”
“Hey!” Natasha protested as you giggled a bit as you blushed deeper now.
“Aww,” Yelena cooed. “You still resemble that Bobby tomato guy.”
You buried your head in Wanda’s side in an effort to hide. They all laughed at your flustered state.
Natasha looked over at her blonde sister. “Don’t worry, she’ll be used to you enough to speak in full sentences and not blush her way through it soon.”
Yelena looked offended. “Full sentences would be okay, but where’s the fun if I can’t easily mess with her.”
You peaked at her from behind Wanda’s arm. “Do you wanna stay.”
Yelana smiled, but shook her head. “No. Continue with your bonding sess. We’ll have plenty of time to get to know each other later. Besides, I promised Bucky and Sam that I’ll whoop their asses in Mario Cart.”
Yelena headed to the door, and you huffed a laugh and overcame some of your shyness to yell out, “They both suck at Rainbow Road!”
Yelena cackled “Thanks for the tip!” she yell back as she strode into the hallway, closing the door behind her.
Wanda nudged your shoulder, “See, there you go.”
You rolled your eyes but with a hint of blush still lingered on your face. “Shut up.”
They chuckled, and Natasha handed out the plates. You tiredly took it and ate a few bites, realizing just how hungry you actually were.
They both got under the covers with you, before they started to dig in. Wanda spoke up. “Do you want to try that movie night now?”
You blinked groggily as you tried to slow your eating a bit. “I feel like I’m gonna pass out the minute I finish eating.”
Natasha raised a brow. “So that’s a no?”
You shook your head. “I didn’t say that. I’m just saying that I won’t last.”
“It’s okay, dekta. Get all the rest you need,” Wanda said. She kissed the top of your head as you settled against her.
Natasha taking your plate away as you already finished it. She leaned over and kissed your check before putting the tv on your favorite movie. “Good night, malen’kiy.”
Sure enough, not even five minutes in, you were asleep as the red heads chuckled and continued to finish their plate. They put the plates and tray on the ground when they were finished and snuggled up to you; all three of you content that things were back to how the were supposed to be.

Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Reader: Female
Summary: Y/n tries to figure out why Natasha has been tired lately.
A/n: Sorry, long fic. Don't know how to do the KEEP READING link thing, if someone wants to explain how to do that.
Note: I did have other parts for this, but I wasn't really happy with them and decided to keep this as a one shot. Sorry.
Tumblr media
It all started because of a mission that you and Natasha went on. The mission was for you and her to steal intel from some high ranking Hydra official at some event in Germany. Natasha's job was to flirt with him while you pose as a waitress and steal the information while he was distracted. It went off without a hitch, and you were able to escape without any red flags.
The plan was to reach a safe house in Italy, where you would wait for an extraction the next day. The safe house was actually a hotel room that Clint booked, so it shouldn't have surprised you when Natasha pulled the car in front of a ratty building that looked like it has seen better days.
After Natasha got the room key, she lead you to your room only to stop short once she opened the door. You almost bumped into her but were able to catch yourself. Confused, you looked over her shoulder to see what she was looking at. The room was pretty small. It had a queen sized bed pushed into the corner and a beat up couch placed in front of a small box tv.
You looked over at Nat to see that she looked unfocused. Raising a brow, you ask, "What up, Nat?"
It was like your voice woke her from a trance as she blinked back to focus and marched into the room.
"I'll take the couch," Nat said, plopping her bag onto the arm of the couch.
You did a double-take at the 180, but then your mind caught up to what she said.
"Wait, what?" You asked, confusion lacing your voice. Stepping into the room and closing the door behind you, you threw your stuff on the bed before standing in front of her.
"You can take the bed, and I'll take the couch." Nat said as if it were obvious.
You scrunched you face. "Don't be silly, Nat. We can both fit on the bed." You point out.
"Yeah, but it's been a tough mission, and I figured you might need the rest."
You raise a brow at that. Even though it was a simple mission, it was taxing. Just by looking at her, you could tell she looked as exhausted as you felt. You also knew that she hasn't been getting enough sleep for awhile now. It hasn't affected her performance on missions, but you were trained enough to see the little bags under her eyes even if they were barely noticeable and how she avoided big group activities that weren't training related.
You knew sleeping on the couch would just make it worse, so you had to try your best to convince her to share the bed. "And you don't?"
Natasha tilted her head to the side and crossed her as she studied you. "I've slept in worse places." She countered easily.
You both knew you were in a challenge of some kind now. Natasha was stubborn, but you would fight the best way you knew how.
Humor.
"Come on! We could snuggle." You wiggle you eyebrows with a cheeky grin.
Natasha snorted. "I don't snuggle."
You gap at her. "Of course you do. Everyone snuggles to some extent."
"I don't."
You sigh dramatically, "Fine, you don't have to snuggle, but you are not sleeping on the couch."
Natasha looked at the couch as if analyzing it. "It should be fine."
"Fine?" You say skeptically. You pointed at the couch accusingly. "That thing looks like it had the literally stuffing beat out of it." To prove your point, you rounded the couch and plopped on it. It made and awful squeaking and creaking sound, and you could feel every spring and the wooden layout. You rubbed the back of you head where it collided with the back of the couch's frame. "It feels like it had the stuffing beat out of it. I think it gave me a concussion."
Natasha smirked at your pout. She held her hand out and lifted you off the couch. "Like I said, I've slept in worse."
You pout again, but for a different reason. "Doesn't mean you have to." You mumbled.
Natasha's smirked settled into a sweet smile. "You are too sweet for your own good. Now go get in the shower." Natasha grabbed a pair of clothes from your bag and pushed you towards the bathroom door. You knew she was trying to end the conversation, and you weren't about to let her. You were going to open you mouth to protest, but Natasha beat you two it. "No arguing."
You huff, trying to think of something to continue the conversation, "I can't have the bed and first shower."
"Yes, you can. As senior agent, I say so." She closed closed the door only for you to stick your foot in the way, keeping it cracked.
"Senior agent?" You ask incredulously. "We're partners. When we worked for S.H.I.E.L.D, we even had the same clearance level."
Natasha disregarded your claim with a shrug. "I've been an Avenger longer than you, so that makes me the Senior Avenger, Rookie."
"By one year! And I'm not the rookie any more!" You try to reason even if it came across as whining.
Everyone on the original team still called you that even after you got new members. You were a candidate for the Avengers Initiative and would've participated in the Battle of New York, but you were deep undercover when it happened and didn't return until a year later. After debrief, Fury informed you of the Initiative and invited you to join. Of course, you said yes, but the team treated you like a kid since you were the newbie and the youngest, hence the name Rookie, even though you had more skill and experience than the average agent.
Natasha smirked at your whining. "Well, it's also stuff like this that makes me Senior Avenger."
You frown. "Stuff like what?"
Instead of an answer, Natasha planted her hand on your chest and shoved you into the bathroom. The momentum made you stubble back, and Natasha closed the door since your foot was now gone.
"Hey! That's no fair." You hit the door then glared at it when you heard Natasha laughing from the other side.
Natasha: 1. Y/n: 0.
You still weren't going to give up though, but you will try again after a shower. You quickly stripped and washed yourself. When you were done, you got out and put on the clothes that Natasha threw at you, being a baggy shirt and some shorts.
Walking into the room with your hair still wet, you spot Nat on the couch reading a book she brought. She kept shifting every few minutes, and you smirked at the thought that she couldn't get comfortable.
"Comfy there?" You asked trying to look innocent. Natasha looked up and narrowed her eyes at you.
"Yes, very." She responded. Even for being a known as a great liar, you new she was bluffing, and that caused your smirk to return. But before you could say anything, Natasha already grabbed her stuff and closed the bathroom door.
Looking around the room, you tried to formulate a plan to get Natasha to sleep on the bed. It felt like a light bulb went of in your head when you thought of something. Excitedly, you grabbed your duffle bag from your bed and reached in to grab an emergency blanket. You quickly jumped on the couch, which proved to be a mistake as it hit one of the frames causing you to curse as you rubbed your knees, and laid the blanket over you and used the duffle as a pillow.
You knew Natasha always tried to help, so she wouldn't subject anyone to that couch. Now all you had to do was out stubborn her. If you gave up first, she'll end up taking your place on the couch, but if she gave up first, then you convinced her to share the bed. The only problem was that it going to be hard because this couch was really uncomfortable. You kept shifting trying to find a comfy spot, and the fact that the couch squeaked every time you moved was getting on your nerves. You couldn't believe that Natasha was going to subject herself to this.
You froze as you heard the water shut, signaling that Natasha was done with her shower. You stayed really still and closed your eyes in an effort to feign sleep when you heard the door open a few moment later.
You heard footsteps walked out of the bathroom then stopped, as if the person froze. Then the footsteps picked back up again and stopped right in front of you.
"What are you doing?"
You peaked your eyes open to see that Nataha had her arms crossed and blank look on her face.
"Sleeping, Nat. What do you think? And could you turn the bathroom light off? It's shining in my eyes." You asked, pretend sleep in your voice.
Natasha rolled her eyes at you. "Off the couch, Y/n."
"Nope."
"Why?"
"Easy, you need sleep just as much as I do. Maybe even more considering that you can't seem to sleep at the compound."
There was a pause, then...
"You noticed that?"
This time you opened your eyes fully and leaned up on your elbows to get a better look at Natasha. She looked a little nervous as she fidgeted just a bit.
"Of course, Nat. Even though you guys joke about me being a rookie, you know I have good observation skills. Plus, I notice if something is wrong with one of my best friends."
Natasha met your gaze with a tense look before she visibly slumped and shifted her gaze over to the bed.
"I guess the bed won't be so bad," she conceded.
You smiled at her. "Good. Now get the light. It is seriously cramping my style."
Natasha breathed a chuckle as she did just that. She walked across the room and settled in the bed. It was quiet for a few moments until you shifted. You still couldn't get comfortable and the noise the couch was proof of that. It settled for a second until you felt something poke you, causing you to move again.
Natasha sighed at the sight. "Get up here."
Natasha: 1. Y/n: 1.
You didn't waste anytime as you shot off the couch and over to the bed. You crawled over her instead of waiting for Natasha to scoot over causing her to grunt from the impact. Quickly, you settled into the bed as you scrambled under the covers.
After a few minutes on no sleep, you could feel how tense Natasha was beside you. You decided to break the silence.
"Man, this bed is crappy too."
Natasha actually laughed at that. "Yeah, it is."
Turning over on your side, you faced her. "Why didn't you wanna share the bed?"
Natasha turned on her side as well, so you were face to face. "Why are you persistent about it?" Natasha countered, but you weren't so easily deterred.
"Because I care about you, and I want to make sure you are taking care of yourself. I can tell your not getting enough rest, and choosing to sleep on that abomination of a couch is practically sleep suicide."
Natasha smiled at that though it looked kinda sad. She sifted her gaze from you face as she sighed. "I just haven't been able to sleep since Sokovia."
You nodded at that. "Nightmares?" Everyone had their fair share of nightmares after what Wanda did, but Natasha seemed to have had it the worst. Of course, everyone is good with Wanda now, especially Natasha since she is the girl's mentor, but the damage is still there.
Natasha shook her head. "Not really. Every now and then, yes, but that's not it."
"Then what is it?" You ask softly after she didn't continue.
Natasha suddenly sat up against the headboard, and started fiddling with her hands. You sat up too and, even in the dark, you could see the anxious look on her face. It was starting to worry you, seeing her like this. When she started speaking, it sounded like she was on the verge of tears.
"I just can't sleep. I'm always restless, and I can't seem to get comfortable. My brain just won't shut down and then I get worried, and I'm just so tired lately, but my body is not allowing me to rest. I'm just so tired of feeling this way, and nothing seems to help. Not watching watching a movie or wearing myself out during practice. And even if i somehow get to sleep, I wake up not long after. Then I freaked out when I saw one bed, because I didn't want to keep you up with my restlessness. And-"
Natasha would've kept going but you hugged her causing her to freeze. She didn't even noticed how worked up had gotten herself, but your touch seemed to calm her down. She wasn't crying, but when she reached up to rub her eyes, she could feel the water collected there run onto her hands.
On the one hand, it warmed your heart at the thought of Natasha not wanting to sleep with you because she didn't want to disturb your rest, but on the other hand, it broke your heart that she was going through this by herself.
Once she calmed down, you turned her face towards you so that her red rimmed eyes could look into yours. You sucked in a breath as you started carefully "First off, it seems that you and that couch would have been an absolute nightmare." Natasha huffed a watery laugh at that, causing you to smile. "Secondly, you wouldn't have bothered me. I could've helped you if you just told me. If you want to stay up and talk, we can do that, or if you actually wanted to find different methods to try to sleep, we can do that."
"Really?" Natasha tried to sound skeptical, but you could see the hope in her eyes.
"Really," You reaffirm with a soft smile.
It surprised you when she threw her arms around your neck to pull you into a hug, but you quickly melted into to it.
"Thank you." You heard her whisper in your ear.
"No thanks needed."
You stayed like that for a minute before both of you pulled away and laid back down on the bed. You faced each other again as you looked at each other.
"Do you wanna talk or try to go to sleep?" You ask.
Natasha thought for a moment. "I think I want to try to sleep." She answered carefully.
You nodded. "Okay, we can try. Give me your hand."
"What?" Natasha asked. You couldn't see her face that well, but you could tell that she raised an eyebrow.
"Just trust me," You respond. Natasha hesitantly held out her hand and you grabbed it. You placed it down on then pillow between you and rubbed circles on the back of her hand with your thumb. Natasha looked at you curiously as you did so.
"My mom used to do this to me when I was a kid. I was always active and couldn't go to sleep. She found out that doing this helped called me down enough to fall asleep. The trick is to just focus on the feeling of me rubbing you hand and not anything else," You explain.
Natasha nodded as she let you continue. It went on for a few minutes before Natasha huffed. "It's not working."
She about pulled her hand away when you tightened your grip stop her.
"Hold on, just give it a chance." You try to reassure. She studied you for a sec before she laid her hand back down. You loosed your grip as you went back to circling the back of her hand.
It happened gradually, but she slowly went from tense to relaxed. Soon enough, you heard her breathing deepened and slowed as she fell asleep. You smiled in triumph but continued to rub her hand for about the next 20 minutes. You stopped after, but you continued to keep your hand on hers as you fell asleep.
------
It was early morning now and sunlight streamed gently into the room. During the night, you became leaned back a bit but were still turned towards Natasha. She was in the same position, but her head in the the crook of your neck as your head rested on top of hers. Her arm was thrown around your waist as your laid on top of the arm, and both of your legs were tangled together.
It was nice and peaceful until an awfully loud ring permeated the silence. Natasha quickly sat up and suddenly had a gun in her hand, looking around the room for any threats. Meanwhile, you jerked up and quickly moved to run off the bed towards the couch where your phone (that was making the awful sound) was; but in your haste, the sheets wrapped around your legs causing you to face plant to the floor. It didn't deter you, though, as you quickly scrambled up. You reached over the back of the couch to grab your duffle and sunk to the floor as you ruffled though it. You laid against the couch as you found you phones and answered it, not even checking the caller ID.
"Hello?" You ask grumpily, trying to rub the sleep from your eye. The voice on the other side started talking.
"Clint, what the hell?" You asked annoyed. Looking over at Natasha, you see her roll her eyes and get out of bed. "We were sleeping." - "I don't care what time it is." - "Really?" - "Ok, we'll be there soon." You hung up the call before anything else could be said. You slowly slid until your back was on the floor and threw your hands over your eyes. "Douche bag." You mumbled to yourself.
Natasha laughed as she grabbed her duffle and started to change. "You're still not a morning person."
You moved your arm off your face and looked at her incredulously. "You know me. Did you think otherwise?"
Natasha pretended to think as she held her shirt in her hands. "No, not really." She put her shirt on and walked over to you. She help out her hand and helped you up when you accepted. "What did he say?"
"He and the quinjet are parked in that field we passed coming here. He said get off our asses and move." You grumbled in irritation.
"Well, then we better get going." She threw a pair of clothes at you and started to put anything else we had lying around up.
You complained as you got dressed. "Six in the morning. What kind of freak wakes someone up that early with a damn phone call? I should bring the freaking couch back with us and switch it out with his bed for revenge." You stopped finished pulling your shoes on as you thought. "That might be a good idea. Nat, will the couch fit in the back of the car. No one will miss it. It is the literally bane of existence for a couch."
Natasha chuckled from all of your mumbling and looked at the said couch in question. "I don't know. I l don't think it would even make it to the car." To prove her point, Natasha lightly kicked the couch, and crumpled inward.
You looked at the broken couch with a glare. "You literally are good for nothing. Kinda like a couch version of Clint."
Natasha tried to hide her smile at that as she looked out the window. "We should go before someone sees this and makes us pay for it."
You nodded as you both grabbed you duffles and headed towards the door. You quickly got in the car, and Natasha started to drive to meet Clint just a few miles out.
The ride was quiet. Natasha focused on driving while you where still groggy from the sudden wake up.
"Thank you."
Natasha said it so quietly that you thought you imagined it. When you realized that she did talk, you were confused.
"For what?" You looked at her, but she kept her eyes on the road.
"For helping me fall asleep and staying asleep." Natasha answered.
You huff as you looked back out the window. "I already told you that you don't need to thank me for that. What are friends for?"
You looked down at you hand when you felt Natasha laced your fingers together. You looked back up at her to see a small smile on her face "Still, it mean a lot."
You could've help but smile to. "It's okay. And remember that you can come to me when your having trouble okay." You kept your gaze on her until she nodded.
It became silent again as you kept driving with your hands interlaced. Sooner the field came into place, and Natasha turned to drive closer to the jet. You were still trying to wake up when a sudden thought of this morning hit you. You gasp loudly, startling Natasha.
"What? What's wrong? Did you forget something?" She asked worriedly.
You looked at her with wide eyes. "Did you have your head on my shoulder this morning?"
Natasha pulled her hand away as she looked just stared out the window. "What? No. Why do you ask?" Natasha questioned defensively.
You smile at her. "You so did, and you had you arm around my waist." You point out. You knew you were right when you saw a blush creep up on her face. "And I'm pretty sure the reason I tripped this morning was more because of your legs than the actual sheets."
Natasha rolled her eyes, annoyed. "Sure. Blame your clumsy ass on my legs."
"You didn't deny it." You smirked as she had no response. "You are a snuggler." You declare.
Natasha whipped her head so fast to glare at you that the car swerved at the motion. "I am not." She stated firmly.
"Yes, you are." You smile cheekily. "Who would have thought the that the Black Widow would have loved snuggling. I can't wait to tell the guys."
Natasha stopped the car and put it in park about 50 feet away from the jet. She turned to you, and let's just say, if looks could kill, you would be dead. "I'm gonna kill you if you say a single word."
"Oh," You pretended as if you just figured something out. "You're a closeted snuggler."
You laughed as Natasha banged her head on the steering wheel, causing the horn to go off.
"It's okay, Nat. I won't tell anyone under one condition," You yell over the horn. Natasha finally raised her head up to look at you. You looked at her with all seriousness. "Spoon me next movie night."
Natasha grumbled as she got out of the car and slammed the door on you. You were quick to unbuckle your seatbelt and get out of the car. You looked over the hood to see Natasha walking towards the jet.
"Don't worry, Nat. I support you. You do you, girl." You yelled out to her. You laughed as she held up the middle finger, not even looking back at you.
"Hold on! This is something we should talk about!" You smiled as you closed the car door and ran to catch up with her, to tease her a bit more before you left in the jet.

Tumblr media
"I love you."
"I know."
You tried to hide the way the side of your mouth quirked up as you heard Kate groan. The bed rocked a bit as Kate dramatically flopped beside you.
You were both hanging out in your room of the young Avengers floor of the Tower. You shared the floor with Yelena, Peter, and Kate, but Yelana was training, and Peter was out patrolling, leaving the two of you to your own devices. You were working on some computer code, while Kate just flipped lazily through the TV channels when she randomly said that statement.
"That's not what your supposed to say," Kate whined.
You smirked as you looked up from your computer to see Kate pouting at you. You could tell that she was bored, so you decided to play along. "Then, pray tell, what should I have said?"
You went back to your computer about to start typing again when Kate quickly sat up and grabbed your hands. Looking up at her, you were stunned to see a serious in her eyes that you have only seen a few times.
"Okay, ummm..." Kate looked around trying to think before settling her eyes back on you. "When a person feels strongly towards another, when they always want to be with them, when they would do anything for the other, and when those feelings are true, they say words that express what that other person means to them. And when one says those words, it is usually customary for the other to repeat them back to show the person who said it first that they feel the same. To let them know that they are important to them, just as they feel."
Your smirked turned into soft smile as you looked at her. "Aww, Kate, that is the sweetest thing you have ever said to me."
Kate blushed at your words. "Well, I said that because it's true. I love you."
"Who wouldn't?"
"Ugh!" Kate slammed a pillow into the side of your head as you finally let yourself laugh. The fact that she kept hitting you only caused you to laugh harder. "You are such a jerk."
Kate stopped hitting you and crawled to the other side of the bed. When you finally controlled yourself, you saw that Kate was facing away from you with her arms crossed.
"Kate," You called out. When she didn't look at you, you put your computer aside and made your way to her. "Kate," You singed while poking her shoulder.
When she still didn't look at you, you sighed. You reached over and gently grabbed her face and turned it towards you. Seeing the pout on her face forced you to hold back a smile you knew she wouldn't appreciate. Holding her face, you made sure she was looking at your eyes as you where talking.
"You are a very important person to me, Kate. I would go anywhere with you and do anything with you. You are my 'ride or die', and I love you with all of my heart." At Kate's small smile, you let out one of your own. "But no."
Kate's smile quickly turned to one of confusion. "No to what?" She asked, her brow furrowed.
"I'm not helping you prank Clint."
Kate looked stunned as she grabbed your shoulders and pushed you off the bed. You groaned out a laugh as your back hit the floor. "You know, I'm starting to think that this friendship is abusive."
Kate just looked at you wide eyed. "How did you know I was going to ask you that?"
"Because everytime you want me to do something your not sure I'll do, you always try to sweet talk me. This is the fourth time you pulled out 'I love you'." You pretend to glare at her.
Kate had the decency to look sheepish as she awkwardly rubbed her neck. "Caught on to that did you?" At your nod, she sighed. "I'm sorry, but you do know that do love you right?"
Your grabbed her hand and smiled up at her. "Of course, and I love you too," You paused, "but I'm still not helping with Clint."
"Damn it!" Kate huffed and pulled her hand away. You sat back on your bed and gave her a cheeky smile. "You're my best friend! And I love you! And You're supposed to do this stuff with me."
"You're my best friend! And I love you! But no." You easily counter.
"Why? What happened to doing anything for each other? What happened to 'ride or die'?"
You looked at Kate in disbelief. "That was before you accidentally pranked Natasha the last time you tried to prank Clint."
"So?"
"So?! I said 'ride or die' not 'ride or Natasha'. That is way scarier, or did you forget what happened last time?"
Kate shuddered at the mention of it. "Okay, so she trained us harder that day and whooped our ass during sparing, but besides that it wasn't that bad."
"For you maybe!" You jumped up on your knees and starting waving your hands around. Kate had to back up so as to not get hit by you. "You only had to endure that day, and then you went off to continued being trained by Clint. Meanwhile, Natasha is my mentor, and I cannot not escape her. She still runs me hard since then."
"Okay! I see you point. Now stop waving your hands around before they fly off," Kate grabbed your wrists to stop you. You raised your brow at her when a smirk appeared on her face. "Maybe the training is so hard because you just not skilled enough."
You gaped at her in offense. "Not skilled enough. I'm trained by the best assassin there is. I can kick your ass."
"I'd like to see you try," Kate challenged. Before she could blink, you turned her around using her hands still wrapped around her wrist. You then pulled her against your front, wrapping your feet around her waist keeping her arms pinned and putting her in a choke hold.
"I'm sorry what were you saying?" You teased as Kate struggled. You weren't even holding her that hard, just enough so she wouldn't get free.
"Oh, just wait and see. When I'm free, I'll be kicking your ass." Kate grumbled. She did her best to get free, trying to throw you off balance by rocking from side-to-side, but that still didn't work. After a few more minutes of stuggling, Kate just slumped against you in defeat.
You chuckled at her. "Are you done, Kate? I'm still waiting on that ass whooping you promised me."
"That was an unfair advantage," Kate huffed.
"Now see, if you stayed with Natasha, you would have learned that the world is unfair so take any advantage you have." You release her, and Kate turned to look at you with a pout.
"You mean."
You smiled cheekily at her. "But you love me."
Kate's pout deepend at that. "Well, not anymore."
"Really!" You barked out a laugh in disbelief.
"You won't help me, and you can beat me. Why I do I keep you around?"
"So your love is conditional, then?" You raise an eyebrow.
Kate froze to consider her next words carefully. "As of this moment, yes?" It came out as more of a question than a statement.
You pretend to have a hurt look on your face. "Fine. If you don't need me then I'll be on my way."
You get of the bed and are about to head to the door only to feel two arms wrap around your middle from behind. Kate pulled you on top of her as she leaned back into the pillows. She then proceeded to wrap her legs around your waist and arms around your chest, preventing you from getting up.
"What are you doing, Kate?"
She kissed the top of your head. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it."
You smiled as you craned your neck to look at her. "I know."
You looked back forward, and Kate rested her cheek on the top of your head.
"Why won't you help me?" Kate mumbled against your hair.
You chuckled as you reached a hand up tonpat her cheek. "Kate, if you want somebody to follow you blindly, get a boyfriend. I'm hear to make sure you don't bite of more then you can chew."
"Why would I need a boyfriend when I have you?"
"Aww. That is the second sweetest thing you said to me." You smiled at her. "And you wish you could find someone as good as me."
Kate huffed a laugh. "But seriously, why? Besides the Natasha thing."
You sighed. "Kate, you have never pranked him. It always hits someone else."
Kate scoffed. "Name one."
"Okay. There was the time we almost cause a Hulk problem when Bruce came in the door first and the water dumped on him when he was already having a bad day."
"Okay but-" Kate interrupted.
"Shush, I'm not done yet," You continued as if you weren't interrupted in the fist place. "There was the time we put mice in the vents, but the one above Wanda's room was loose, so the mice fell onto her bed. I can still here her screaming."
"How were we supposed to know-"
"I'm still not done. There was also the time we supper magnetized the training room so his arrows would fly to the walls instead of the targets. Only he didn't show up that day, but Sam, Tony, Steve, and Bucky did. Sam and Tony were stuck to the ceiling for hours while Steve tried to pull his shield and Bucky off the wall. Then there was-"
"Okay! Okay! Okay! I get it." Kate huffed. "I only said name one."
You hummed in satisfaction. "I know, but I needed to get the point across."
Kate paused for a second. "But you got to admit. The magnetism one was funny."
"Oh, by far the best." You agreed shaking your head. You turned to look at her again. "We just need to take a break right now. Lay low and have things cool down before we try again. And then triple check that the prank will for sure hit Clint and no one else."
Kate sighed, "Yeah, you're right."
"I know." You looked at the TV. "Do you wanna see if there is a good movie on?"
Kate looked down at her watch. "Actually, I need to get going."
You frowned. "Really?"
"Yeah, it should take long." Kate moved you off of her so she could get up. Putting on her shoes, Kate looked over and laughed as she saw you pouting. "I shouldn't be gone too long."
"Yeah, yeah." You mumbled dejectedly, waving her off.
"Don't be like that." Kate walked over to you on the couch and wrapped you up in a hug. "How about this? When I get back, we will have a Harry Potter marathon."
You look up at her with hopeful eyes. "You mean it?"
Kate laughed and kissed the top of your head. "Of course."
You pushed her in the direction of the door. "Go then. The sooner you leave, the sooner we can binge movies."
"Okay, I'm going!" Kate tripped over her feet rushing to the door. "Bye! Love you."
"Love you too!" You were able to yell out before the door closed behind Kate.
You laid down on your stomach on the bed and flipped through TV channels in order to find something to occupy you before Kate comes back.
_______
It's been a few hours since Kate has left, and during that time you put on Friends to pass the time. By the fourth episode, you were half-asleep and have been drifting in and out since then. It was nice and peaceful until your door suddenly slammed open.
You jumped up in surprise and reached for the knife in your pocket. You were about to throw it at whoever came in until your sleep addled mind recognized Kate and Yelena as the intruders.
"What the hell are you doing!?" You rubbed your eyes to get some of the grit out of them. When you looked back at them, you could see that they were red faced and trying to catch their breath.
"We might have done something," Yelena said. She had her ear to the door, listening to see if anyone was coming.
"What did you do?" You got off your bed and walked over to them. You raised your brow at Kate, and she sunk away from your gaze.
"Kate?" You prompted. She fiddled with her fingers and kept shifting her gaze around, not even looking at you.
"Well, I know you said not to, but it was a good idea. We just didn't think this would happen, and now we need your help," Kate continued to rambled on.
You usually liked when she rambled, but you honestly have no idea what she was talking about.
"What?" You question.
Kate was about to answer when Yelena piped up with her ear still on the door. "We tried to prank Clint Barton. Now shush, I can't hear."
You grabbed Kate by the arm and pulled her away. "You did what!?" You hissed
Kate looked panicked. "I know you said not to, but you didn't even listen to my idea. So I left to find Yelena and told her the plan, and she was in. And I'm sorry. I love you." She rushed out.
You pinched the bridge of your nose. "I love you too, but that doesn't help the fact that you did this. I told you that you couldn't prank him."
"Actually, I got him this time." Kate answered tentatively. You whipped your head up and looked at her with wide eyes. You could see the smug look in her eyes.
"Really?" You ask skeptically. When she nodded her head, you let out a small smile. "Okay, that's great! But why are you hiding in my room?"
Kate looked nervous again. "Well... you see-" Kate was stalling.
"We also got Natasha too," Yelena piped up when Kate wouldn't finish.
They both looked at you sheepishly as you gaped at them. When your brain finally caught up to what they said, you shook your heard.
"Nope, nonononono." You state as you started pushing Kate towards the door. "You cannot hide out in here."
They both looked at you at that, fear etched into their faces.
"What? You can't let us go out there." Yelena gestured to the door. "That is so not cool."
"We're dead if we go back out there." Kate squeaked as your backed her closer to the door.
"You should have thought of that before you tried to prank him. I told you your pranks don't work out like you want." You struggled to push Kate to the door as she started fighting back.
"I thought you said that she loved you enough to hide us, Kate Bishop." Yelena grumble as she pushed Kate away when you shoved her into Yelena.
"Well, she was mistaken," You grunted as you pushed Kate into Yelena while Yelena was pushing her back into you.
"Ride or die, Y/n." Kate struggled to get out.
"No, this is ride or Natasha. I can't be caught harboring fugitives, or I'll be guilty by association."
You both bickered back and forth until Yelena shushed you.
"Wait, I think hear something." You all froze as Yelena pressed her ear into the door again. "Shit! I hear footsteps! Hide!"
Yelena made a mad dash for your closet as Kate dived under your bed.
You panicked for a second as you jumped on top of your bed. You heard Kate groan as you turned the volume of the TV up.
"Did you have to jump!" She whispered yelled.
You were about to respond when you saw the shadow of feet outside your door. "Shut up! They're here."
You relaxed into your bed and pretend that you were watching the show as your door opened.
"Where are they?"
You glanced over to find Clint and Natasha at your door covered in different color paint. You couldn't help the bark of laugher that escaped your mouth at the sight. You quickly covered your mouth to stifle your giggles at the glare they sent towards you.
"What happened to you?" You ask, not able to hide your wide smile.
"I went to practice shooting at the range, but when I pulled the arrow back, several different cartridges open and several paint bombs went off. You wouldn't happen to now anything about this, would you?"
You eyes widen at that, and you laughed again. That was a pretty good prank. You would have to congratulate Kate on her creativity. You shook your head as you answered, "Nope, I had no idea about this." You turned to Natasha. "What about you?"
"I was right beside him." She answered coldly. Your laughter died at the steely look in her eyes. "You didn't answer my question. Where are they?"
You remained quiet as you thought of what to do. Either save your friends or face the rath of Natasha. As her glared narrowed at you, you made your decision.
"Kate's under the bed, and Yelena is in the closet." You blurted out.
"Shit!" "Suka!" Kate and Yelena both exclaimed at the same time.
Clint rushed to grab Kate under your bed, while Natasha ran for the closet. Clint had a hold of Kate's foot and tried to pull her out but she was able to kick him off. At the same time, there was a commotion coming from your closest as clothes were thrown out as the sisters fought. Kate crawled out the other side of your bed while Clint was still underneath it. She sprinted to the door as Yelena escaped the closet and followed after her, Natasha and Clint were right on their heels.
"I hate you!" You heard Kate yell from down the hallway.
You laughed at that. "Love you too!" You yelled back.
You flopped onto you back as you laughed, trying to calm yourself down from the exitment. You were quiet for a few seconds before an idea came to you.
"Hey, Jarvis?" You called out.
"Yes, Miss L/n." The AI responded.
"You don't happen to have that whole prank on the security vidoes, do you?"
"I do."
You smiled widely. "Can you please pull it up on my TV?"
"Certainly, Miss L/n."
You smiled as you settled down to watch the vidoe all the while hearing the chaos of your friends being hunted outside your room.

Imagine not being a Widow, but still become adopted by the Romanoff/Belova family.
Takes place after Black Widow. Civil War has been resolved, and the team is back at the Compound. Infinity War and Endgame doesn't happen.
Tumblr media
Although you're not a Widow, you became apart of the Romanoff/Belova family.
You were one of the youngest and best scientist that worked for S.H.I.E.L.D.
Your specialalty was chemistry and biology.
After it fell, Tony Stark hired you, and you worked closely with him and Bruce Banner.
Although you worked at the Tower, you did not have any contact with the other Avengers, even after Tony dragged you to the Compound.
You mainly stayed in the lab, completely content with being involved in your work (which with you, Tony, and Banner, was more fun that actual work.)
You were absent during the whole Civil War crisis and didn't return until it was resolved.
You were about to start on a fun experiment with your boxes still unpacked when you heard someone enter the room.
Looking up you, you were surprised to see the Black Widow and a blonde standing at the entrance staring at you.
Who are you? This is a restricted area. - Natasha
I'm... well you see... - You
Do I need to kill her? - Yelena
I'm not sure yet. - Natasha
You were scared for a second until Tony came in.
Do you have nothing to do besides scaring my scientist, Romanoff? - Tony
She works for you? Why haven't I seen her?- Romanoff
Yeah, for almost three years. See this is why your supposed to mingle? - Tony
After that was sorted, Romanoff explained that Yelena was her sister who was freeing other Widows, but she is out of the antidote.
Tony takes one look at it before handing it to you.
Aren't you going to do it? - Natasha
Nope. Over my head, plus y/n is better at this this stuff. - Tony
Isn't she, like, twelve? - Yelena
I'm only a few years younger than you. And I've had my PhD in chemistry and Biology since I was 18. - You
That shut them up, especially after you designed guns and small grenade's to help release the Widows from a safer distance.
Since then, they have gotten to know you.
Natasha comes to you for repairs with her widow bites after they become damaged, and Yelena comes for any new weapons you had to help her.
Even after she frees all the Widows, Yelena still comes down to the lab to keep you company and give you new ideas.
Natasha visits just as much, but always brings food because you forget to eat often.
You help Yelena with adjusting to a normalish life.
You show her all the disny movies, which she loves, especially Frozen.
Natasha regrets that you showed her that when Yelena wakes her up all the time singing Do You Wanna Build A Snowman.
Do you wanna build a snowman? - Yelena
Do you want to die this morning? - Natasha
How about we just watch a movie? - You
Frozen! - Yelena
No - Natasha
Why? We are like Anna and Elsa. - Yelena
Who am I like? - You
The reindeer. - Yelena
:l - You
They find out that your the definition of book smarts with no common sense.
You would rant about an experiment you were conducting, spitting out all these facts that went over their heads, but they also caught you getting lost in your own shirt when you had to change because af a chemical spill.
You need any help? - Natasha
Nope, I'm good. - You, trying to put your head through the arm hole.
Are you sure we should trust them with chemicals when they can't even find their way out of a shirt? - Yelena
You somehow ended up with your shirt inside out and backwards.
It's safe to say that they never let you live it down.
They also discover that while your optimistic, you could be extremely sarcastic.
The team is stressed about bringing in a Hydra operative.
Don't worry. I'm sure you'll get them. - You
Another time...
Hey! Pepper said I look okay, but do any of you think this suit makes me look fat. - Tony
Oh, yeah. The headlines will be all over it tomorrow. - You roll your eyes.
See, Pep! Y/n agrees with me. - Tony
Yelena likes when you get like that because she want to have a sass off.
It annoys the crap out of Natasha.
They are very protective of you.
Nobody is allowed to mess with them but you.
Did you have a nice trip? - Yelena, after you fall in the hallway.
Yeah, I don't know it was fall. - Clint
What did you just say!? - Yelena chasing Clint.
That also means that no one could flirt with you.
Did it hurt when you fell from heaven? - Sam
Umm... - You, blushing.
You shouldn't worry about that after I send you to hell. - Natasha pushing Sam to the wall with a knife to his throat.
After time, they open up to you.
Natasha tells you about her nightmares, and you let her stay in your bed and cuddle when they happen.
Whenever Yelena becomes haunted by her past, you distract her by either baking in the kitchen or having a dance party, sometimes at the same time.
They are also extremely worried whenever an emergency happend.
They always made sure you were safe before anything else.
But they learned not to underestimate you after an incident at the Compound.
People broke in and trapped the Avengers in the gym.
They were worried sick about you since you weren't with them, and they had no way to contact you.
All the Avengers got in a fighting pose when the door to the gym opened, preparing for a fight, when it turned out to be you.
You were covered from head to toe in different color chemicals from chemical bombs you made.
All the intruders where either knocked out or stuck in some way.
They were proud of you and knew you could handle yourself, but that didn't stop them from starting to train you in self-defense.
Natasha is your instructor and show you how to fight while Yelena teaches you about how to use knives and guns.
You usually spar with Yelena while Natasha gives out instructions from the side.
Ugh. - You grunt when you back hits the floor again.
Next time try to mask your movements and and remember to keep you hands up. - Natasha
Come on let's go. - Yelena holds her arm out to help you up.
No, just let me die. - You
Or you could fight me. - Natasha smirked.
I'm up! I'm up. - You
I don't known if I should be offened by that. - Yelena
When Christmas comes around, they decide to bring you with them to their parents house since they know yours have past away.
Melina and Alexie were a bit cautious around you at first.
Alexie tried to be intimidating, but once you asked about his old Captain America stories he forgot about that.
And then he pushed me out of the plane. I have sworn vengeance since. - Alexie
Is this during or after the Cold War? - You
You don't have to pretend to be interested. - Yelena
What do you mean pretend? His stories are great. - You
Yes, listen to y/n. They obviously have good taste. - Alexie gets back to the story, making the Yelena groan
Melina took longer, but she relaxed after you talked science with her.
She was really interested to take in those chemical bombs that you made.
And you just mix this and that. - You
That is really quite fascinating. Have you tried this? - Melina
Yes, but the structure wouldn't hold right. - You
Not if you did that. - Melina
Are you guys ready to eat. - Natasha
Not know, honey. We're busy. - Melina
But it's been hours. - Natasha
I know. We barely started. - You
By the end of the week when it's time to go home, they have practically adopted you.
I think I was a mistake bringing them here. Melina and Alexie will not them them go. - Yelena
Agreed. - Natasha
Why didn't you bring them sooner? - Alexie
I wish we had you during Ohio. You know, without the sabotage, spying, and training to be assassins after. - Melina
Yes, you would've been a great influence on the girls. - Alexie
She would have been three during the time. - Natasha
I still think she would've been easier than the both of you. - Melina.
Alexie gives you a bone-crushing hug when it's time to get on the quinjet, and Melina gives you her number and tells you to come visit.
Melina holds Natasha and Yelena back.
You take care of her now. Nothing should happen to our new daughter. - Melina
Don't worry, Melina. We would let nothing happen to our sister. - Natasha
Of course, I don't want to go back to being the youngest. - Yelena

Yelena: Why did Kate text me to help her get away from the police?
Natasha: Because she stole from a bank.
Yelena: Why would she steal from a bank!?
Natasha: Because Wanda dared her to.
Wanda: Hey! You said you wouldn't snitch.
Yelena: Why did you dare Kate to do that!?
Wanda: I didn't think she would actually do it! And she was only considering it until Nat called her a chicken!
Natasha: Don't put this on me! Kate could've choosen not to.
Yelena: No, she couldn't have! She has zero self-preservation skills and no impulse control!
Bonus
Kate: [Speeding down the highway with money flying out the window and sirens in the distance.]
Kate: Who's the chicken now!?

Kate: (about to fight bad guys by herself)
Yelena on comms: You can't possibly do this alone.
Kate: Excuse me?
Yelena: Come on, Kate Bishop. I mean, you can't even eat alone in a restaurant.
Kate: What?
Yelena: I'm just saying, if you can't eat by yourself, how do you expect to beat them by yourself?
Kate: I can to eat by myself.
Yelena: When have you ever?
Kate: When certain people leave the table and I'm not finished!
Yelena: Well, certain other people take two hours to eat a bowl of soup!
Kate: Oh, please, you inhale your food.
Yelena: I grew up with Natasha. If you didn't eat fast, you didn't eat!

Meet the Roommate
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x Reader and Yelena Belova x Reader
Reader: Female. Her character is based off of Honey Lemon from Big Hero Six, and the meeting resembles that of Honey Lemon and Hiro meeting.
Summary: Yelena is in town, and Natasha thinks it's the perfect time for Yelena to meet her roommate, who happens to be her best friend, but Yelena is not looking forward to it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Hey, Poser!"
Natasha turned around to find her sister walking towards her through the crowd with a wicked smile on her face. Rolling her eyes, Natasha started maneuvering herself around people as well to get towards Yelena. Meeting in the middle, the sisters hugged as they were finally reunited.
Natasha couldn't stop the smile on her face as she held Yelena closer; the younger girl holding on just as tight. It was a nice moment until...
"I might be a poser, but at least I know how to follow directions in an airport."
Yelena quickly pulled away from her sister, and Natasha couldn't help but laugh at the affronted look on the younger girl's face.
"It is not my fault that you give shit directions," Yelena deadpanned, her accent making the statement funnier. She looked at their surroundings and waved her hand around. "Besides this place is soo big. And how can anyone get anywhere with all these people rushing about as if there was a fire? I could start a fire and give them a real reason to run."
Natasha sighed as she saw people giving them strange looks. She grabbed Yelena's hand and dragged her in the direction of the parking lot. "Can we please not joke about arson in an airport? People get really skittish about that."
Yelena tugged her hand away as she settled by Natasha's side. Adjusting her backpack, Yelena side-eyed her with a smirk.
"What? It's true. Everyone around here is running around like a pig with its head cut off."
Natasha agreed with Yelena as she looked around at the bustling airport but chuckled at hearing her sister's phrasing. Yelena eyed her with a frown.
"What is so funny?"
Natasha smiled at her sister as she lead them out the door and across the parking lot. She lead them over to her car and looked at Yelena from across the top.
"It's chicken."
Yelena furrowed her brows. "What is chicken?"
Natasha shook her head with a smile. "The phrase is chicken with its head cut off not a pig."
"Bah," Yelena waves her off as she opens the door. "It is still a barn animal, what does it matter?"
Natasha rolled her eyes as she followed suit getting in the car. She closed her door and looked over at Yelena to see her throw her backpack into the back. Putting the car in reverse, Natasha backed out then made her way to the exit.
"Is that all you brought?"
Yelena looked at her incredulously. "Of course. Always travel light with only the essentials in order to have a quick get away."
Natasha pulled out onto the highway and glanced at her sister. "You know you don't have to do that anymore, right? You can stay here and build up a life for youself."
Yelena looked down as she fiddled with the rings on her fingers. "Yeah, I know. That's why I'm here. You're sure it's okay that I can sat in you extra room while I find a place?
Natasha slowed down as the car reached a red light. Once they stopped, she turned around to face Yelena. Yelena tried to put on an aire of indifference as she looked out the window, but Natasha could see the hesitancy in her eyes. She reached out to grab her sister's axious hands and squeezed them.
"As long as you're here, you can stay for as long as you want. I'm not going to leave and let you be by yourself again. I love you, and I'll always help you out."
Yelena was taken aback by how sincere her older sister sounded and looked at her only to see that same sincerness and love reflected in her eyes. Yelena gave a small smile as she squeezed her sister's hand back.
Yelena jumped as the car behind them honked to bring their attention to the green light in front of them. Natasha laughed as she turned back to the road, and Yelena glared at her.
"Put your seat belt on." Natasha noticed that she neglected to do it while at the stoplight.
"Ugg," Yelena groaned as she pulled the belt over her body and clicked it in place. "You're still a mom."
Natasha huffed. "If I'm not going to let Y/n get away with it, I'm sure as hell not going to let you."
Yelena wrinkled her nose at your name. "Ah, yes. The infamous Y/n. How is your roomie anyway?"
Yelena was not exited to meet you. Her main problem was that you had all of these years with her sister, and it left her a little jealous and insecure about her relationship with Natasha. It didn't help that Natasha had all these good things to say about you. And not that she will ever admit it, but she was also a little intimidated. Since you're a big part of Natasha's life, she hopes that you will like her as well, even if she doesn't know how to feel about you. This whole thing has her more than a little anxious.
"Don't say it like that. She is more than just my roommate; she is my best friend, and I think you will like her."
Natasha was well aware that Yelena was not looking forward to meeting you. Natasha is not blind to the resentment Yelena has against you whenever she brings you up. She was upset at their loss of time too and tries to make up for it every day either by calling each other or meeting up when they can.
Besides Yelena, you are Natasha's favorite person, and that is saying a lot because Natasha doesn't like many people. You have helped her plenty of times in the past, and you're someone special to her. Natasha really wants the two of the most important people in her life to meet, and she knows that if Yelena gives you a chance that she will like you too.
"Plus, she is really exited to meet you." Natasha added.
Yelena whipped her head towards her sister. "She is?"
Natasha couldn't help but laugh. "Of course she is. Y/n has been bugging me for a while about meeting you."
"Huh," Yelena reclined in her seat. That helped her anxiety a bit. "So she is cool about me staying?"
Natasha pursed her lips. "She doesn't know you're coming."
"What! Why didn't you tell her?"
"Well, how could I? You only phoned me a few hours ago saying that you were coming, and Y/N worked late last night. She was still asleep by the time I left; she probably is still asleep," Natasha defended.
Yelena groaned. "You're sure this is okay? She won't be mad and think that I'm taking over or something?"
"No," Natasha reasured, laughing at the idea that you would be mad over this. "Y/n is the sweetest person alive. If anything, she will be mad that I haven't brought you over sooner, and she'll be estatic that you are staying."
Yeleana just looked at her sister. She sighed as she turned to look out the window. "Fine. I'm curious to meet the person who figured out my sister's cover anyway."
Natasha rolled her eyes at that. Of course that would be the only reason she would want to meet you. It was a good story and also the reason you became friends in the first place.
You are a scientist who worked for Stark Industries, and you're also a close friend of Tony's despite the age difference and worked closely with him even though you're a chemist and became a good friends with Pepper. You were there during the whole Obediah Stane fiasco, even helping a bit with a chemical purse that you and Tony were working on. Through these encounters, you met S.H.I.E.L.D. when Phil Coulson came for a debrief.
Tumblr media
Later when Tony became sick because of the metal in his chest, he revealed it to you and asked for help in finding a cure. Soon, he made Pepper CEO of SI, and she quickly found a good assistant in Natalie Rushman. You thought it was weird how fast Pepper found a good assistant, because it took a while before Tony found Pepper, but you chalked it up to Pepper being easier to work for than Tony. It didn't leave you mind at how good she was at fighting when you saw her take Happy down though.
It didn't take you long, however, to figure it out after the incident at the race track with Ivan Vanko. You were surprised that S.H.I.E.L.D. hadn't made an appearance after it, considering how fast they appeared when Tony first made the suit. With Tony's sickness (you didn't have a doubt about them knowing this) and him making some stupid decisions (even though it was smart of him to make Pepper CEO because she deserves it) and now this Whiplash person after him, you thought that S.H.I.E.L.D. would be all over it.
When you analyzed everything, you put together that they might already have someone here. You quickly came to the decision that Natalie was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. It made sense. She was the newest person there since all the craziness started, and it would explain as to how she was hired so quickly and her fighting skills. Plus, it also explained why she didn't freak out at the race track and kept a cool head.
Once you figured it out, you walked up to Natalie and gave her a hard drive. Before she could ask you what it was, you told her that was the information to save Tony. You told her to make sure Tony gets what he needs to make himself better since you didn't have the materials and because you thought S.H.I.E.L.D. was better equipped to set Tony straight.
You walked away before Natasha could say anything. She was shocked that you figured it out. You were a very positive and exited person, especially when it came to chemistry. You were also great with people, but she didn't expect you to be perspective enough to find out that she was an agent, especially with her skill level.
Natasha didn't have too much time to think on it because of the disaster at Stark's party. She gave the information to Fury, who was just as surprised as she was that her cover was discovered. Once they got Tony on the right track, Natasha came to you. She still had to keep her cover up, and she used that to get to know you. She quickly found out that you were not only smart with science, but were extremely perceptive and really good with people in a way that she wasn't.
You were with her at the Stark Expo and helped her along with Happy. You saw her take down all those agents and where amazed. This time you brought the chemical purse again and help trapped them along with fighting the Stark suits. She was also impressed with you.
After it, she gave you her number, and the two of kept in contact. You were happy to see her on the helicarrier when you were asked to help with the Loki problem and participated in the Battle of New York. After S.H.I.E.L.D. fell, you offered for her to stay in one of your extra rooms at your loft (think of the loft from New Girl). After a while, she decided to move in permanently instead of living in the Tower. Now years later, you are still living together and are extremely close.
Natasha finally pulled up to the apartment building to where you both lived. They got out of the car and headed to the elevator that would take them up to the their floor. Natasha turned to Yelena and gave her a pointed look.
"Remember, be nice." Natasha thought for a second then added, "And quiet, she is probably still asleep."
Yelena rolled her eyes and gave Natasha a thumbs up and a really cheesy smile as the elevator opened. Natasha was about to say something but was interpreted by a crash coming from the loft. Both she and Yelena looked at each other before rushing to the door. Natasha quickly opened it and led the way to your in-house lab to find you rolling a big ball of metal onto a platform and several broken vials on the floor.
"Well, I guess she is not sleeping." Yelena said.
Natasha quirked a brow at that. "You think?" She deadpanned. Turning her attention back to you, Natasha asked, "Y/n, what happened?"
You didn't answer, and Natasha saw your earphones in. She careful walked over the broken glass and tapped you on the shoulder. Yelena watched as your head snapped towards Natasha, and you smiled.
"Nat! You're back!" You hugged her enthusiastically. You took off your earphones to talk to her. "Where were you? I woke up to find you gone this morning! For a second, I thought maybe you were called in for a mission, but you would've left a note if that were the case, and Tony would have told me. Are you hungry? Sam dropped off donuts after his morning run."
Yelena's eyes widen as you said that all in one breath. Natasha chuckled as if this was a normal thing as she pulled away.
"Why is their broken glass on the floor?" Natasha asked af is she didn't know the answer already.
You looked a little embarrassed at that. "I might have knocked over a few things while getting this tungsten carbide in here." You patted the heavy metal ball behind you.
"Uh huh." Natasha crossed her arms while quirking an eyebrow. "And how did you get that in here in the first place?"
"Tony," You said as if it was obvious.
"And how did Tony get that in here?"
You shrug. "I don't know! By doing Tony things."
Then you noticed the woman standing behind Natasha. "Oh, how rude of me. Hi! I'm Y/n L/n." You walk over to the woman and stick you hand out. Yelena eyed it skeptically before she accepted it.
"Yelena Belova."
Yelena watched as your smile somehow widened even more. "As in Nat's sister?"
Yelena nodded, which she kind of regrets because as soon as she said that you pulled her into a bone crushing hug. She doesn't have long to complain though, because as soon as you grabbed her you pulled away.
"It's so great to finally meet you!" You say, practically jumping up and down with exitment.
Yelena took a moment to adjust to what exactly was happening. There was only one thing to think of to say. "What is with all the giant metal ball?"
Your eyes lit up in exitment as you grabbed Yelena'a hand. "I'll show you! You came just in time!" Yelena looked to her sister for help as you dragged her over to a chemistry set set up on a counter, but Natasha only chuckled at her as she followed you.
"That is four hundred pounds of tungsten carbide." Yelena raised her eyebrows as she was impressed that you could have moved it. When you reached the set, you started to mess with it. "A dash of perchloric acid, a smidge of cobalt, and a hint of hydrogen peroxide." Yelena back up as you brought out a flame thrower and heated up the concoction. "Superheated to 500 Celvin. And..."
You excitedly made you way over to the metal and sprayed it with the mixture as you walked around it. A dust of pink was around it as you pulled a lever on the wall that caused some electricity to pop out. Yelena just looked at you confused as the only difference she saw was that the huge ball was now pink.
"So what? It's pink. Congratulations, you just spray painted it in a sciencey way." Yelena pointed out the obvious.
Natasha smirked as she has seen you do this experiment and knew what was going to happen.
You smiled brightly at Yelena. "That's not the only thing that happened." You say excitedly as you reached out to touch the ball. Natasha pulled Yelena back as you poked it causing it to explode in a cloud of pink. Yelena looked in awe as the dust settled, and the ball was no longer there. Instead it was you covered in pink dust all over trying to rub the pink off your glasses.
"What was that?" Yelena asked even more confused but unable to keep the awe from her voice.
You looked at her with a smile as you put your glasses back on. "Chemical metal embrittlement. Pretty cool right?"
Yelena was about to agree before she remembered to play it cool. "I guess it was okay."
Natasha laughed at her sister's cover up. "Y/n, why are you doing this here? I thought you liked to do the simpler experiments at home."
"Oh! Pepper banned me from coming to work for a few days after she caught me working late last night! Something about me deserving a break and taking it easy, but I really wanted to do this experiment again."
Yelena turned to you incredulous. "Again? You mean you've done this before? Do you just spend you spare time making pink poofs out big metal balls."
"Sometimes!" You agree nodding your head.
"Hey, why don't you change into some fresh clothes and meet us in the living room." Natasha suggested.
"Okay!" You quickly hang your lab coat on the hook next to the door then made you way out. Before anyone could do anything, you sticked your head back in. "Hey, Nat! Can you press the button on the remote by the set? It releases this cleaning bot thing Tony brought when he heard I was doing this." Then you headed back out before anything else could be said.
Natasha chuckled at your enthusiasm as she pressed the button while Yelena just looked to where you once where still processing everything. Natasha motioned for Yelena to follow her out as the robot started to vacuum up all the pink dust and clean the broken glass.
"So what do you think?"
"I think you didn't really capture her hyperness. If you told me it was like meeting a puppy whose owner just came home, I would have been better prepared."
Natasha rolled her eyes as they sat on the couch. "Come on, I know you like her, and that you thought her experiment was cool."
"She's alright." As much as she didn't want to admit it, Yelena thought you were pretty cool. She was still bitter about the situation, but she could play nice until she got to know you better.
"Just admit it, I saw how much you lit up when the ball exploded," Natasha teased.
"A 400 hundred pound ball of metal exploded in a pink poof. Who wouldn't like that?" Yelena tried to defend. When Natasha kept on smirking at her, she hit her in the face with a pillow from the couch. "Shut up, Poser."
"Who is a poser?" You asked walking back into the room and headed to the kitchen. Even though you changed clothes and washed your face, there were still smudges of it on your face and hands and traces in your hair. Yelena smirked at the questioned while Natasha groaned as she fell back onto the couch.
"Natasha is a total poser when she fights." Yelena got off the couch then crouched down to demonstrate it. "With the arms and the hair. Acting like everyone is watching her."
You laughed as you watched Yelena whip her head back and forth. You grabbed the box of donuts brought them to the living room.
"Yes! I've seen her do that. It is kind of like the strut she does."
Both their head turn to you as you placed everything on the coffee table in front of the couch. Yelena smiling as Natasha frowned.
"What? I don't strut." Natasha said.
"Yes, you do. Not as much as posing, but you still do it. Like this."
"You don't have to." Natasha tied to stop you.
"No, I think she should." Yelena says with a big smile as she sits back down on the couch while grabbing a donut.
You crouched down to mirror the position Yelena was just in.
"You land like this, then automatically stand up and walk, moving your hips a bit." You then smoothly stood up and swayed your hips as you walked across the room.
Yelena cackles with the donut in her mouth while Natasha looks at you with wide eyes.
"I don't do that!" Natasha defended. Then she turned to Yelena. "And close your mouth when you eat and finish chewing. Nobody wants to see that."
Yelena stuck her still food covered tongue at Natasha, and you smiled at the exchange as you sat down across from the sisters.
"Yes, you do. The first time I saw it was when you beat up all those guys at the Stark Expo. I think there is a security video that shows you doing it." You recalled. "I think I could get Tony to find it."
"Don't even think about it," Natasha glared at you. You put your hand up in surrender.
Yelena is on her side by now as she laughs. "So you're a poser and a strutter!"
Natasha pouts as continues to glare at you. "You're supposed to be on my side."
You just give her a sympathetic smile. "Sorry, Nat."
Yelena was still laughing but slowly started to choke.
"Yelena! What's wrong?" Natasha asked urgently while rubbing her back. You quickly realized what happened and ran to the kitchen. Grabbing a glass from the cabinet, you filled it with water and rushed back to the two, being careful not to spill it.
"Here, drink this." You held the glass to Yelena. She snatched it out of your hands and started drinking eagerly.
Both you and Natasha watched her worriedly as she finished the glass. She coughed a few times after she finished.
Yelena looked at you carefully. "Thank you," she rasped.
You smiled at her gently. "It's okay. You don't need to thank me. Are you feeling better?"
Yelena nodded.
"What happened?" Natasha asked. She hasn't taken her eyes off her sister the whole time.
Yelena pointed to the donuts. "It went down the wrong tunnel."
"Pipes," Natasha correct.
Yelena narrowed her eyes. "Whatever."
"I told you to chew," Natasha scolded.
"Yeah, yeah." Yelena waved her off. "Still a mom."
Natasha was about to retort, but stopped when she heard laughing. Yelena and Natasha looked over to find you laughing and trying to hide it behind behind hand.
"What is so funny?" Yelena questioned.
You smiled as you watched them. "It's nothing. It's great to see you together. I just wished I had a sister. You're both so lucky to have each other."
Natasha eyes softened while Yelena looked at you with wide eyes. She couldn't believe this. You wished to have a relationship like her and Natasha. You the person who has had more time with Natasha than her. Hearing you say that, loosened some of the jealousy and insecurity Yelena held onto. She realized she couldn't blame you for the loss of time between her and her sister, and that even thought they were apart, it doesn't lessen their relationship at all. She smiled at you as well.
"You know what? I think we could become good friends."
You smiled wider at that. "I think we could be too. By the way, I really like your vest. It has so many pockets. Where did you get it?"
"Really?" Yelena questions. At your nod, she turns to Natasha, "See. She likes it." Turning back to you she says, "I have more in my backpack in the car, do you want to see?"
You eagerly agree, then you both rush to the door.
Natasha smiled as she watched you two go. She is happy that her two favorite people are getting along. Natasha chuckled as she reached for a donut as she heard you both laughing down the hall.

I'm Not Sick
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x Reader, Wanda Maximoff x Reader, Carol Danvers x Reader, Pepper Potts x Reader
Reader: Female
Summary: The Reader does not usually get sick or admitted to it when she is. Because of that, the females in the Tower have taken it into their own hands to watch for symptoms and take care of her when she does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You knew you shouldn't have gotten out of bed that morning, but did you listen? No.
Everyone knows that you don't tell when you feel sick. It doesn't bother you that much unless it is really bad. The time you did admit that you didn't feel well you happened to have pnemonia with an 103 degree fever. (Natasha is still mad about that.) After that incident, everyone in the Tower is on alert for any sign of you not being well, since it seems that you cannot take care of yourself. The girls are really overprotective about it since you are the youngest Avenger, and they see you as a little sister.
That is precisely why when you woke up that morning with a scratchy throat and a chill in your bones, you decided not to tell anyone. You didn't want them to worry over something that would go away within a couple days. Besides, you had to work after lunch and were too stubborn to miss it.
Everything was going okay. You met everyone for breakfast but did not really eat anything. Steve questioned you, but you told him you were still full from dinner last night. Thankfully, he turned back to his conversation with Sam about training strategies, but you failed to notice the glance that Natasha sent you after you said that. Or the one that Wanda and Carol sent each other after you said no when Vision offered you Dr. Pepper and opted to get a Gatorade from the fridge instead.
The longer the morning went the worst you felt. You kept drinking Gatorade to combat the definitely sore throat, and you had started to get a headache. You excused yourself from the team to get in the bathtub to warm up because you were absolutely freezing now. You missed the way Pepper watched you carefully as you made your way out of the room.
After a nice long warm bath, you got out and dried off. You changed into different pj's than before and walked out to the hallway.
"Hey."
Jumping, you turned around to see Natasha leaning again the wall outside your room.
"What the crap, Nat? You scared me." You said giving her a fake glare.
Natasha just furrowed her brows as she looked at you. "Did you just get out of the bathtub?"
Huffing, you turned and walked away. "So what if I did?"
"Just curious." Suddenly, Natasha was in front of you with her hand on your forehead. "You're warm."
Pushing her hand away, you glared. "So? I was just in a hot bath. I'm probably still warm from that." You tried to walk past her, only for Natasha to stick her hand out to the wall, blocking you.
"So you do admit you were in the bathtub." She smirked. Rolling your eyes, you ducked under her arm then continued to the common room.
"You know what I think?" Natasha called. You could hear her right behind you. "I think your sick."
Stopping abruptly, you turned around to look at her only for Natasha to be a few inches from your face.
"I'm not sick," You stated taking a step back.
"Yes, you are." Natasha said taking a step forward.
You narrowed your eyes at her. "Prove it."
You shouldn't have said that because the next thing you knew Natasha scooped you up bridal style and carried you to the counch.
"Let me go!" You tried to struggle against her, but because of the headache you didn't put up much of a fight as you usually would.
"Okay." She dropped you onto the couch with no warning. You winced at the abrupt drop and rubbed your hand on your forehead to ease the pressure there. You glared at her as you got back onto your feet. "Sit down." Natasha warned you.
"No." You crossed your arms trying to look defiant. Before anything else could happen, you were automatically sitting on the couch again. You tried to get up only to find red tendrils wrapped around you, keeping you in place.
"Really, Wanda?" You rasp out, your throat feeling sorer since you haven't had anything to drink in a while.
"Sorry, princessa." Wanda said as she came around the corner. She sat beside you on the couch and held out a Gatorade bottle. "Are you going to stay put?" You looked at her before reluctantly nodding. Wanda freed you once she was sure you were telling the truth and gave you the bottle. You started to drink from it eagerly. "You need to be resting if your sick."
Swallowing quickly, you pulled the bottle away from your lips and responded, "But I'm not sick."
"Yes, you are." Natasha responded. You shifted your eyes over to where she was sitting in front of you on the coffe table. Her face was hard, but you could see worry in her eye. Looking over at Wanda, you could see it on her whole face.
You rubbed your forehead again as you faced Natasha, addressing her. "And I told you to prove it."
Natasha just looked at you for a long second before she got up and went to the kitchen. You tried to get up and follow her, but Wanda gently grabbed a hold of you arm to stop you. Looking over at her, Wanda shook her head and held her arm out instead. You decided to lean against her instead of fighting, but you kept your head up as some sort silent resistance.
Both of you looked over to the door as Natasha came back through, and she dropped something on the coffee table. Leaning up a bit, you saw that it was an evidence bag filled with all the Gatorade bottles you used that morning.
"Exibit A," Natasha said pointing at the bottles. "You choose Gatorade at breakfast after Vision offered you Dr. Pepper, which is your favorite."
Raising an eyebrow, you looked at her skeptically. "Really? That's it. I like Gatorade to. I can change it up once in a while." You pointed out.
"Yes." Natasha said, nodding her head. She started to walk around the couch as if she were performing an interrogation. "But whenever you do drink Gatorade, you usually drink one. You're not known to drink bottle after bottle unless..." She finished her way around the couch and dramatically turned towards you, "you have a sore throat because in your own words 'It feels better on my throat than coke or water'."
"That's not true." You try to defend, but your voice came out raspy again. You raised the Gatorade to your mouth to soothe your throat again. At Natasha's raised a brow, you felt your face heat up hotter than it already felt as you slowly put the bottle down. Looking sheepish, you raised both hands to massage your head and said, "Okay so maybe my throat is a bit sore, but that doesn't mean that I am sick."
Natasha gestured to Wanda for this one as she sat on the other side of you. "Exibit B is this."
"What?" You were still rubbing your head so you didn't see what she was talking about.
Wanda reached out and grabbed your hands away from your face. She used one hand to hold them in her lap while she used the other to rub the crease on your forehead. You closed your eyes at the sensation as you leaned back into the couch.
"This is Exhibit B." Wanda said sqeezing your hands. "You always rub at your head like that whenever you get a headache."
"Everyone rubs their head when they get a headache," You mumbled out. Her accent mixed with her misistrations could have lulled you to sleep.
"Yes, but you're the only one who looks like they're about to rub their face off," Natasha states with a smile. Wanda chuckles as you open your eyes and glare at her.
"Hey!" You huff as you sit up.
"It's true, princessa." Wanda giggles as she brushes a stray hair behind your ear. Looking at both of them, you sigh as you leaned back into the couch.
"Don't pout, milaya." Natasha teased.
"I'm not pouting." You said while crossing your arms and furrowing your brows.
"Saying 'I'm not pouting' while pouting is not a good defense." Wanda said joining in.
You rolled your eyes only to wince in response. You reached up to rub your head again. "Still doens't mean I'm sick, but I guess you have another 'Exhibit'," You try to defend but only weekly.
Wanda grabbed your hands, and you thought that she was going to rub you head again, but Natasha felt your forehead before resting both hands on the side of your face.
"Exibit 3. You know that bath you took earlier?" Natasha began. With your face still in her hands, you nodded. "You like to get in the bath when you you are freezing in order to get warm fast, and you were practically shaking before you left like you are now."
Hearing that, you realized that Natasha was right. You didn't notice how cold were were until she pointed it out. You were shaking. Wrapping your arm around yourself, you leaned back against Wanda who also wrapped her arms around you trying to warm you up. Natasha got up and grabbed a blanket from the chair. She put the blanket over the both of you before placing her hand on your forehead again.
"The fact that you are freezing but burning up under my hand also proves that your sick. You definitely have a fever, and you still looked flushed from when you got out of the bathtub too." Natasha stated pulling her hand away.
Looking at her intently, you finally sigh. "You guys know me so well don't you."
"Yep" Wanda popped the "p" as she kissed the top of your head.
"I didn't become the world's greatest spy for no reason," Natasha winked at you as she sat on the coffee table. You stuck your tongue out at her.
"If I was sick," You began slowly. At Natasha's nodding you continued. "If I was sick, what would that mean?"
"It means your not going to work, that's for sure." All three of you turned to the door at the sound of the new voice to see Pepper walking towards you.
"What, Pep!? But I have to!" You whine. You coughed at the end causing Natasha to hand you your Gatorade so you could take a sip while Wanda rubbed your back.
"I'm your boss, and I say you have off until you're better." Pepper stated. She was typing away at something on her tablet as she spoke. "All your work has been given to Tony, because he needs to do something besides playing with his toys in his lab all day." Your eyes widen, but before you could protest, she continued. "Bruce has been notified of your symptoms and told me to give you these." At that Pepper handed Natasha a bag that held a few medicine bottles and a bottle of water. You were about to ask where the bottle and bag magically appeared from, but she was still talking. "If you're not better by the morning, we will have Dr. Cho come look at you." You were about to interrupt, but Wanda shushed you as she grabbed the water bottle Natasha gave her as Natasha looked at the medicine instructions. "All that is left is for Operation C.&C. to take effect."
Pepper finally looked up from the tablet and looked at you with a soft smile. Turning to Wanda and Natasha, you see that they were giving you that same look.
Your brain finally caught up on all the information Pepper just threw at you, and one thought stayed at the front of your brain. Confused, you turned to Pepper, "Operation C.&C.?"
Before she could answer, a crash sounded on the other side of the room. Looking over, you saw a mass of pillows and blankets that definitely weren't there before and over turned chair. Suddenly, the mass started to move, and Carol's head popped up from the middle.
"Hey, totally not a big deal, but is anyone going to help?" Carol questioned.
Wanda waved her hand, and red tendrils wrapped around the blankets and pillows. She lifted them into the air and floated them over beside the coffee table.
Carol looked dumbfounded as she got up from the floor. "You're telling me that you could have floated everyone's pillows and blankets in here?" She started to walk over.
Wanda giggled as she nodded.
"Then why did didn't you?"
"Because when Pepper said to initiate operation C.&C. You said 'I got it' and rushed out of the room before anyone could do anything." Wanda smirked as Pepper and Natasha chuckled. You smiled to but were still confused as to what is going on.
Carol blushed, but quickly tried to mask it. "Well, you could've helped when you saw me struggling."
"I'm sorry. Did pillows and blankets prove to be the too much for the space hero Captain Marvel?" Natasha joined in on the ribbing.
You, Wanda, and Pepper laughed while Carol glared at Natasha. That didn't last long as Carol joined in on the laughing to. Once you all calmed down, Carol clapped her hands.
"So, are we starting Operation C.&C.?" She asked looking at the others.
"Yes." Wanda replied. She handed you the water and scooted you over so she could get up to help Carol.
"What is this operation?" You ask. Pepper grabbed your hand and pulled you off the couch and to the side as Wanda and Carol started setting up the pillows. Natasha joined you and gave you the correct amount of medicine from each bottle that you needed to take.
"Operation Cuddle and Comfort of course." Pepper smirked. "Step One is turning the common room into the best cuddle pad."
Turning back to the the room, you see Carol and Wamda move the coffee table over as they set up a pallet of the floor. "Where did all the pillows and blankets come from?"
"We got them from our rooms and stole the rest of from the guys rooms." Wanda stated.
"Ah-hem."
"Excuse me. Carol stole them." Wanda correct rolling her eyes.
"Yes, I did," Carol smiled proudly. "Most of the stuff in here actually came from Clint's room though."
"What?" You ask smiling.
"Oh yeah. Clint is really into comfy things," Natasha revealed as if it was some great big secret. Then she titled her head as she furrowed her brows in thought, "Actually, the blanket you got from my room, I stole from him."
"Step two is get into pj's and Step three is spend the rest of the day with you watching movies." Pepper finished.
Your eyes widened. "What? Pepper don't you have to run the company? I can't let you stay of because of me."
"Nonsense, honey," Pepper waved your worries away. "I'm the boss. I can do what I want, and Tony has told me that I have been working too hard lately and I deserve a break." You were about to protest again, but Pepper held up a hand to stop you. "Besides, staying in to take care of a sick friend is better than all the crap Tony did to not work when he was in charge."
Pausing to think, you smiled as that did make sense. "Thank you"
"No need to thank me," Pepper smiled back.
"Alright, guys the the pallet is ready." Wanda called out. Turning around, you saw the most comfy looking pallet over the couch and floor.
"Okay, Carol, since you're already in your pj's, you can get the popcorn, while me and Pepper change. Wanda, help Y/N pick out a movie." Natasha ordered like it was a mission.
Everyone did their assigned tasks. You and Wanda finally agreed on a movie by the time Natasha and Pepper returned. Wanda left to change and got back just as the movie loaded and Carol came in with the popcorn.
Natasha and Wanda got settled on the floor while Pepper and Carol got on opposite sides of the couch so you could sit in the middle.
"Come here, super star." Carol held her arms opened. You quickly climbed into her lap and layed you feet over Pepper. Natasha and Wanda buried you in blankets because you were still cold. When your shaking did not stop, Carol used her powers to raise her temperature.
"Thanks," You whisper into her shoulder as you snuggled deeper into her side.
"Anytime," Carol looked down at you smiling.
Watching the movie, you started to cough again and winced because of your throat. Your Gatorade floated into your vision, and you grabbed it taking a sip.
"Thanks, Wands," You said.
"No problem," She responded with a small smile.
You turned to Pepper as she tapped your shoulder. "Here, take this. You forgot this one earlier. It should help with the headache," she gestured to where you where rubbing your forehead. Taking the pill, you quickly swallowed it.
"Thanks, Pep." You say again.
Before she could respond, Natasha interjected, "I swear if you say thank you one more time I'm gonna beat you. I don't care if your sick, I'll kick your ass. You don't need to thank us for taking care of you. You're always so polite when your sick. You know what, that's Exibit 4."
You chuckled at Natasha's ranting. "Fine, sorry."
Natasha groaned, "Again with the politeness. You have nothing to apologize for. Just shut up and eat some popcorn." Natasha put the popcorn on Carol's lap so you could have some.
You returned your attention to the movie as you ate some popcorn before thinking of something. "Hey, Nat."
"Yeah," she turned around to find you smirking at her. "Thank you."
Natasha narrowed her eyes at you before snatching the popcorn back. "You're not welcome. No popcorn for you."
"Hey, I was eating that to," Carol complained.
"Blame Y/N," Natasha grumbled while eating the popcorn.
Wanda laughed, "Here, have mine." Wanda handed Carol her popcorn.
You started to open your mouth, but-
"Don't think about it." Natasha stated without taking her eyes off the TV.
You looked over at Wanda and mouthed thank you. She winked at you before turning back to the TV, only to have pop corn thrown in her face.
"Hey! What was that for?" Wanda asked Natasha, picking popcorn out of her hair.
"For encouraging her."
Pepper chuckled that, "Yes, how dare we encourage good behavior. Somebody needs to."
Natasha looked offend, "What? We have good behavior."
"We do?" Carol questioned with a quirked brow.
"At least better than the boys," Wanda defended.
Closing your eyes, you smiled as you listened to the back and forth from people you considered your older sisters. If you had to be sick, you're glad that you had these girls to take care of you.

The Cuddle Principle
Natasha Romanoff x Reader x Barton Family
Summary: The Reader just wants to cuddle after a long mission. Is that to much to ask?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ever since you joined the Avengers, you were able to become friends with everyone in the Tower, even Natasha. People were shocked by how quickly the Black Widow became comfortable around you, but got over it when Natasha sent them a glare whenever they questioned it.
The fact the two of you were the only girls on the team made it easier for you to bond. You always trained together and became an unstoppable duo on missions. Whenever there was a group activity, you always stayed close to each other. Both of you joked about the guys and had plenty of inside jokes they would never be able to guess. Whenever someone spotted Nat, they knew you weren't far away and vise versa.
Very soon, the two of you became best friends. Natasha opened up to you about the Red Room, and you told her about the abuse you faced as a child. You were one of the few people she trusted completely, and you always felt safe when she was around.
Because of this, there are three reason as to why you ended up in this situation.
Reason number one is that you are one of the few people Natasha is comfortable with touching her. You are a very physical affectionate person since you didn't have a lot of it growing up and were estatic when Natasha finally did not tense up when you touched her. Usually when hanging out, you have your heads in each other's laps or your feet propped up on each other. If there are not enough seats, you were both comfortable with sitting on each other's laps. Your absolute favorite thing though is being able to cuddle, whether because you need comfort after a long day or watching a movie.
The second reason is that you spend the night in each other's room all the time. There doesn't even need to be the reason. It could be because of convenience, a girl's night, or one of you needed the comfort of the other after a nightmare.
The last reason is that being best friends with Natasha also ment that you were close friends with Clint. You were friends with everyone of the Avengers, but Clint was the guy you were closest to. Close enough to know the secret about the Barton farm. Laura loved you, and you soon became Auntie Y/N to the kids. Both you and Nat tried to visit as much as you could, especially after long or hard missions.
All of that lead to this current predicament. Well, Natasha thought it was a predicament, you just thought she was being annoying.
Both of you had just completed a mission and were exhausted. It wasn't that it was hard, just really long and tedious and made you want to shoot yourself for fun.
After checking with Steve, you flew straight to the Barton farm for a well deserved break.
The kids were asleep when you arrived, and once you said greeted Clint and Laura, both of you headed upstairs to get cleaned up and go to sleep.
Since Natasha's room was the closest, you decided to just bunk with her since it felt like you couldn't take another step. Natasha complained about you taking up all the room when you jumped on her bed, but you knew she was joking, especially since she had a king size bed and there was enough room for the both of you.
After the mission, both of you kind of wanted space to have some breathing room as you decompressed, but you fell asleep with your pinkies connected to reassure each other that you were still there.
Sometime during the night, the both of you gravitated together to meet in the middle. Natasha was on her back, while you were half on your side and half on Natasha. You slid down the bed so that you head was resting on Natasha's stomach with you arms wrapped around her. One of her hands was rested around your neck holding your shoulder while her other hand lightly held onto the arm wrapped around her front. Both of your legs were tangled together.
Natasha was the first one to wake up to find you draped across her. She smiled as she gently ran her fingers through your hair. You shifted a bit at the contact but snuggled deeper into her side. That just made Natasha smile wider as she chuckled.
Reaching over to the bed side table, Natasha grabbed her phone to look at the time. Upon seeing that it was past 12 P.M., her eyes widen.
Man, we must have been exhausted to have slept this late. I'm surprised the kids didn't wake us up yet. Clint must have told the them to be quiet.
Still looking at the time, Natasha's stomach suddenly growled causing her to wince. All you had to eat on that mission were the crappy food bars S.H.I.E.L.D. made, and beacuse you were so tired, Natasha and you declined when Laura offered some food last night. Natasha was now starting to regret that decision.
Looking down at you, Natasha knew it was going to be hard to leave. Normally, you were clingy when you were tired, and Natasha knew that that mission wiped you out.
Hoping upon hope that you were still deep asleep, Natasha tried to get out of your grip and slip out of bed. She heard you whine a little as your arms tighten around her the second she moved.
Natasha hughed a laugh as she smiled. Running her fingers through you hair again, Natasha tried to gently wake you up a bit more hoping to convince you to let her go.
"Hey. Good morning, Y/n." She said softy. You only grunted in response. Shaking her head, Natasha tried rubbing your shoulder. "It's time to get up. We need to go eat."
"No, we don't," You grumbled out as you buried your face deeper into her side. Natasha laughed at your response.
"Yes, we do. We haven't had a decent meal in days, and after declining Laura's food last night, I'm surprised she hasn't come in here to force feed us." That statement cause you to let out a small laugh, but you still did not move. Thinking of a different tactic, Natasha tried something else. "I know your just as hungry as I am."
"No, I'm not." Right as you finished saying that your stomach growled. Unburying your face from her side, you looked up to see that Nat had raised one eyebrow. Looking away with a huff, you said, "Okay, so maybe I am, but I'm just too comfy to leave."
Rolling her eyes at your stubbornness, Natasha retorted. "Well, I'm too hungry to stay."
She made a move to get up again. This time instead of pulling her back, you held her in place as you swung your leg over her and shifted your position so that you now laid on top of her with your head on her chest. Natasha grunted as as you put your full weight on her.
"That was real mature," Natasha said sarcastically.
"You gave me no choice. Now your trapped and will be my prisoner forever," you giggled.
"Are you sure about that? There is one flaw to your plan."
You frown as you heard that. "What?"
"This."
The next thing you knew, Natasha wrapped one arm around your back and used her other arm as leverage to flip you over. Now, you were on your back with Natasha on top of you. You scowled as you looked up at the smirk on her face.
"Naat!" You whine.
"Y/N," she repeated in that same tone.
Natasha put her hands on either side of your head as she pushes herself up. Doing the only thing you could, you wrapped your arms around her neck and your legs around your waist. But she was stronger than you thought for just having woken up and brought you with her. Natasha was arms and knees on the bed as you were suspended above it hanging on to her.
"Really?" Natasha said an unimpressed. "I knew getting you up was going to be a problem, but I didn't expect this."
"Well, that's your own fault. You should have learned to expect this from me by now, especially when I'm tired. And this is not a problem, you are just being difficult," you said matter-of-factly.
Natasha just gaped at you incredibly. "I'm being difficult. I'm not the one hanging off you like a human monkey."
That caused you to frown as you think. "In my opinion, I think I am being perfectly reasonable. Again, it's your own fault for being in this position when you could've just stayed in bed. You have forced me into extreme measures of your own doing."
You looked into her face to smile cheekily at her only to stop when you saw Natasha's evil smirk.
"Well, now you have forced me into extreme measures of your own doing."
Before you could ask what she ment, Natasha reached a hand up to your side and started tickling you. Gasping, you let go of Natasha in a futile effort to get away. Now, she sat on top of you as she drug her hands into your sides. You couldn't help the laughter that flowed out of your mouth.
You tried to shove Natasha off of you, only for her to catch your hands and pin them above your head.
"Oh, no you don't," Natasha tutted while shaking her head. She wiggles her fingers dangerously above you. "You wanted me to stay, so you are getting exactly what you wanted."
"No, Nat. Don't-HAHAHA."
The rest of your sentence was cut off by you laughing as Natasha dug her fingers into your armpit. You were able to free your hands from her grasp and brought your arms down to block her. She only moved her hands to your neck causing you to giggle like crazy.
You struggled as you tried to push her hands away again only for Natasha to grab yours and put them under her knees, pinning them to your sides.
"Last chance, Y/N. Time to go down stairs and eat. I know your hungry."
"Yes, I am hungry, but I'm staying. It is no longer about being comfy, but the principle of the matter," you try to say defiantly.
Natasha just stared at you."That is a really stupid stand."
You shrug. "Yeah, I know, but I'm stubborn and want to win."
Natasha chuckled as she looked down. "Oh, Y/N. You made the wrong choice."
Natasha reached down to grab the hem of your shirt. Your eyes widened as you realized what she was going to do. You tried to squirm away as she raised your shirt to expose your stomach and ribs.
"Are you sure that you don't want to eat, Y/N? I can see your ribs," Natasha stated as she dragged a finger from the top of you ribs to the bottom. You squeaked as she did so causing her to smirk.
"Nat, no don't do this." You tried to beg, but the smile on your face gave you away.
"Do what?" Natasha asked with faux innocence. "I'm just trying to see the state of how my friend's hungerness affected her body. Is that so bad?"
Your tried to shake your head yes only for your whole body to start shaking with laughter as Natasha attacked your ribs. She raked her fingers up and down your ribs and dug in between each rib, making you a mess. You were sure the whole house could hear you laughing by now.
Suddenly, your stomach growled causing Natasha to stop.
"Oh, what's this," Natasha said focusing on your belly. "Does your stomach want to be tickled to?"
You tried to tell her no because that was your most ticklish spot, and Natasha knew that, but you were still laughing from her last attack.
You practically yelled in laughter as her fingers attacked, sucking in your stomach in an attempt to get away, but her fingers just followed you. Laughing hysterically, you bucked your hips in an attempt to through her off, but that didn't work either.
Natasha danced her finger around your belly button causing you to loose all control. You could no longer struggle as she switched between touring your ribs and stomach. Natsha just watched with an evil smile as you laughed, completely defenseless.
Finally, she stuck her finger in your belly button and wiggled it around, causing you to screech and arch your back. Your laughter fell silent, and all you could do was wheeze every few breathes.
Smiling, Natasha gave one last scribble to your ribs before getting off you. Once free, you curled in on yourself still giggling as you tried to catch your breath.
When you were able to breathe again, you looked over at Natasha with a pout. "You're mean."
Natasha just laughed, "And you loved it. Don't deny it."
"I do deny it," You try to state definitely, but the blush on your face gave you away.
"Aww, you're so cute," Natasha cooed. You only blushed deeper and tried to hide you face in the bed.
"As much fun as it was, I'm still hungry. See you downstairs."
You tried to reach out to grab Natasha but were still to weak from the tickle attack. She jumped out of the bed and ran out the door before you could even sit up.
"Turd!" You yelled before plopping back down on the bed. You sighed as you turned over to hug a pillow, silently resolved to stay up there as long as you could.
Your stomach decided to growl right then. Don't give in to the hunger. Remember, you're staying hear on principle. What that principle is, you don't really know, but you're still determined to stay by it.
You could hear talking downstairs as the rest of the family greeted Natasha. Hearing them laughing, broke your resolve a little. Then, you heard footsteps running up the stairs.
The door opened abruptly, and a blur dashed into the room. It jumped on the bed and tackled you into a big hug.
"Auntie Y/N!" Lila exclaimed as she squeezed you.
Smiling bigger than you had already, you squeezed her back. "Hey, Sweetheart! What's up?"
Lila pulled away from you, her eyes shining with excitement. "You need to come down stairs to eat!"
"Huh, did Auntie Nat tell you to say that?" You asked with a raised brow.
"No, Momma did when Auntie Nat said you were pouting up stairs. They thought I was the best option to get you to come down."
"I am not pouting," You said affronted. Lila crossed her arms and tried too raise an eyebrow. Both of them kept going up. "I'm staying hear on priciple."
"What principle?" Lila asked confused.
"The cuddle principle," You responded thinking quickly. Nodding your head, you decided to go with it. "Yeah the cuddle principle. See, your Auntie Nat abandoned to cuddle for something else. So now I'm staying up here."
Lila nodded like she understood.
"But what if we go downstairs to eat, then cuddle on the couch watching Disney movies." Lila suggested. You smiled brightly as an idea came to you.
"Sounds good." Lila cheered as she grabbed your hand, trying to pull you off the bed. "But I have one condition," you said raising a finger. Lila stopped to look up at you. "I'm allowed to kick Nat off the couch for abandoning me."
Lila nodded enthusiastically as she started tugging harder on your hands. Laughing, you allowed Lila to drag you down the stairs.
Clint was the first one to spot you. "See! I knew Lila was the best choice to get her."
You stuck your tongue out at Clint as you and Lila made your way to the kitchen. Laura was making a grilled cheeses on the stove when you entered.
"Hey, cuddle bug!" Laura said when she spotted you, coming over to give you a hug. You blushed at the nickname only she was allowed to call you. Laura started calling you that after seeing you use everyone in the house as a pillow. "I heard you took a hostage."
"Yeah," You mumbled pulling away still pouting. "It didn't work. So now I'm stealing your daughter."
Laura laughed as she put a sandwich on your plate. "Should I be worried?" She asked handing you the plate.
"No," You said shaking your head. Pointing to Lila, you stated, "She offered. Didn't you Lila?"
Lila shook her head enthusiastically. "Yeah, Auntie Y/N gives the best hugs."
You looked back at Laura with full seriousness. "See, I give the best hugs." Turning back to Lila, you reached your hand out to her. "Come on. Cuddle, Disney, and food awaits us. The best things there are."
Lila grabbed her food with one hand and used to other to grab yours. You had Lila situated on your lap on the couch as you both ate and watched Brave. Soon enough, Natasha came in and spotted you and Lila
"Good, you got some food." Natasha said walking over. "And is this a cuddle party? Without me?"
You and Lila smirked at each other as Natasha sat down beside you. Before she could say anything else, you kicked her off the couch.
Natasha glared up at you from the floor. "What the heck was that!?"
You looked to Lila. "Tell her what that was about."
Lila looked to Natasha. "The cuddle priciple."
Natasha furrowed her brows in confusion. "The cuddle principle?"
"Yes," You took over. "The cuddle principle. You ditched cuddling for something else. So now, no cuddling for you."
Natasha crossed her arms as she stood up. Looking around she spotted Copper walking through the door. "Well, then I will just cuddle with Cooper. Come here, Coop."
"No!" You yelled as Copper made his way towards her. "Cooper, she broke the cuddle principle. Stay away from her."
Copper was stuck in the middle looking back and forth between the two of you.
"If you come cuddle with me, I'll teach you how to throw knives," Natasha offered.
"Okay!" Copper smiled.
"Yes!" "No!" Both of you yelled as Copper ran over to Natasha, who picked him up and sat with him on the opposite side of the couch.
"You cheated!"
"Hey, it's not my fault what the kid picked."
"Yes, it is because you bribed him."
"Sorry, Auntie Y/N. But I want to throw knives." Copper said.
"Don't worry, Coop. I don't blame you." Looking straight into Natasha's eyes, you stated, "I blame her."
"Me! You started it"
"No, I didn't. You did."
It went back and forth like that for a second until Clint came in.
"Woah woah woah. Ladies, what is going on here?"
"Stay out of this, Clint!" Both of you yelled at the same time. Clint looked scared as he raised his hands up in a surrender and took a step back.
"Hey!" Laura said, walking in behind her husband. "What is going on?"
You and Natasha just looked at each other glaring.
"Well?" Laura said.
It was silent for a few second before...
"Nat started it!"
"No, I didn't. You did!"
"You cheated!"
"You kicked me off the couch!"
"You broke the cuddle principle!"
"Well, you-"
"Stop," Laura interrupted with a slight raise of her voice. Both of you immediately quieted. "You two apologize right now."
"Sorry," You both say, barely looking at each other.
Laura smiled happily. "Now both of you scoot to the middle."
You looked at her then did what she said. Both of you together with the kids by your sides.
"Great! Clint, get the popcorn. I think it's a great time to have a Disney movie marathon." Laura said as she walked over to sit on the other side of Lila. The kids cheered as they went to get all their Disney movie.
A minute later, the kids came back to to their seats with the movies in tow, and Clint came in and sate on the other side of Cooper. By the third movie, your arm was around Lila's shoulder as she leaned on you, and Natasha's arm was around you as you laid your head on her shoulder. Laura had her feet across your laps, while Copper also leaned on Natasha, and Clint rested his arm on the back of the couch
When it got to a quieter part of the movie, Natasha leaned down to whisper in your ear. "This was your plan all along, wasn't it?"
You smiled against her shoulder. "Let's just say that I didn't get my job by accident."
Natasha chuckled as she snuggled deeper into the couch and returned her focus to the TV.
You sat up a bit and looked around at everyone. There was no place you would rather be than cuddled up beside your favorite people. With that, you cuddled deeper into Natasha as the fourth movie started.

Casual Clothes
Bus Kids x Reader
Summary: Reader is a field agent who is always in a suit just like Coulson. When the team has a day off, the bus kids are shocked to see her wearing comfy clothes.
Tumblr media
The bed was really comfy as you slowly woke up. Looking over at your nightstand, you saw the clock read 9:00 A.M. You couldn't remember the last time you were able to sleep in and became even more grateful to Coulson for giving the team the day off. Hearing your stomach growl, you regretfully got out of bed to find some food.
Quickly, you changed out of your pajama pants and into some plain black shorts and thew a blue sweater over your tank top. As you looked in the mirror, you decided to brush your hair out instead of putting it up like you usually do.
You walk out of your bunk and make you way into the Bus kitchen. Walking in, you spot Simmons making eggs on the stove while Fitz stood at the counter cutting a banana and Sky sat beside him typing on her laptop nibbling on some bacon.
"Hey, guys," You greet as you rushed past them heading straight to the cabinet. You grab a bowl and some cereal before turning to the refrigerator to grab the milk.
"Well, good morning, Y/N! I hope you slept well last night considering how long you-" Simmons started only to stop abruptly when she turned around and saw you.
Skye looked up to say good morning to only instead her jaw dropped in shock. Without looking away, she slapped Fitz on the arm to get his attention.
"Skye! What the bloody hell was that for!? You almost caused me to cut myself!" Fitz scolded her. Skye said nothing but only pointed at you. Fitz was about to yell again only for his words to die in his throat when he finally looked at you.
All three stared at your back with their mouths open and eyes wide as you continued getting your breakfast ready.
Not noticing the sudden silence, you turned around about to eat only to freeze when you saw all eyes on you. You stared at them for a second and turned around to see if they were focused on something behind you.
Seeing nothing, you faced them again and walked over to the counter to sit down; your confusion growing as their eyes followed you. You only managed to get a few bites of your cereal when you couldn't take it anymore.
"Alright! What's going on?" You say abruptly. They quickly looked away when you broke the silence. You stared at them with furrowed eyebrows. "Did I do something to make you all uncomfortable because if I did I'm-"
"What are you wearing!?" Fitz interrupted. He looked down quickly to hide the blush he got when he realized what he said.
"Fitz!" Simmons admonished.
You looked down at yourself with a frown. "Is there something wrong with my clothes?"
"No no no. Nothing like that. It just caught us by surprise," Simmoms reassured. You snapped your head up to look at her. Seeing your confision, Simmons blushed as well and started to stuttered out an explanation. "Well, you see... I mean... We are just so used.. you know-"
"You're not wearing a suit." Skye came to Simmons rescue. You slowly realized what they where getting at but decided to keep playing along.
"It's our day off. Why would I wear a suit?" You question with a cheeky smile.
"Just cause.." Skye trailed off not really finishing her sentence or keeping eye contact with you.
"You guys didn't think I only wear a suit, did you?" You asked raising an eyebrow. When all of them looked away, you got your answer. You couldn't hold it in anymore and started laughing. All three of them blushed this time.
"Well, obviously not all the time!" Fitz defended.
"Yeah!" Simmons tried to help.
"To be completely honest, we all thought you sleep in the suit," Skye admitted with a shrug.
"Skye!" FitzSimmons yelled.
That only cause you to laugh harder. Tears were were running down your face with how hard you were laughing.
"How-" you huff through you laughter, "How come you thought that?"
"Can you blame us? That is all you wear," Simmons said sheepishly, a smile forming on her face as she watched you laugh.
"I mean, your hair is actually down instead of in a ponytail, which looks really good by the way. You should totally wear you hair like that more often." Skye laughed as she ran a hand through your hair.
You chuckled as you looked over at Fitz to see what he would say only to find him staring at the ground.
"Fitz!" You say snapping your fingers in front of his face to get him to focus. "What are you looking at?"
"I can see you feet," he plainly stated. After a beat of silence, you, Simmons, and Skye busted out laughing. Fitz tried to splutter out a response but couldn't say anything over all the laughter. Finally, he grumbled about going back to the lab, grabbed his bananas, and left.
Once you all calmed down, you looked at each other smiling. Suddenly, you smelled something that caused you to wrinkle your nose.
"Is something burning?" You asked. You saw confusion cover their faces before Simmon's turned to panic.
"The eggs!" Simmons cried as she ran back over to the stove. You and Skye both chuckled as you watched her handle the charred eggs which happened to get stuck on the pan.
"Come on," Skye said as she grabbed your hand and dragged you out of the kitchen.
"Where are we going?" You question but didn't struggle.
"Now that I know you own regular clothes, I wanna see them. Maybe we can have a mini-fashion show." Skye smiled and turned to you with a wink.
Laughing, you followed her towards the bunks while yelling at Simmons to meet you there when she's done.
