Okay I’m not really a part of this fandom but I’ve been following along cuz it looks kinda cool
So I do wanna say that I noticed smth in the last episode of Hazbin Hotel involving Alastor?
Like it’s canonical that he’s never not smiling right? But I was watching his fight with Adam again and I saw this:
His shadowwwww was FROWNINGGGGG
But then it corrects itself like half a second later!!
It’s a blink-and-you-miss-it moment:

I'll be real the second any trans person shows up on my dash making any kind of post generalizing transmasc or transfemme people negatively i check out. literally don't care if the evil trans woman or evil trans man said something upsetting to you or you've had bad experiences with a particular group of people; the generalization shit is lame, being defensive about it is lame, you are literally smarter than this - stop, reflect, take some deep breaths, go do something else

If you were to ask Gojo Satoru who his first kiss was, he would always say it was you - making everyone at the dinner table, party, or bar look up at him with dreamy eyes while mouthing small awws and oohs to match.
And you’d sit there in silence, listening to him tell that blatant lie as your face grew red and your heart threatened to burst out of your chest, knowing that he had, in fact, kissed many girls before; whether they pressed their lips to his in high school parties, or grinded against him in clubs until finally shoving their tongues in his mouth; he had already done it plenty of times before he had ever laid eyes on you.
But on some drowsy night, when the thought first popped in his head, he muttered the words into the air like a prayer, “You know you were my first kiss, right?”
And he pouted when you laughed at what you felt was the nth joke of the day, until he started softly explaining that each kiss before you had never felt like what a kiss was supposed to be like; That when for the first time you finally found the courage to grab his face and press your lips to his, he knew the true terror of kissing. How he was scared that his tongue was too deep in your mouth even though he wanted to push it deeper and deeper, and how when you smiled against his lips, his stomach did cartwheels for hours after it ended.
“You don’t get to choose these things, Satoru.” You reprimanded, but never corrected him once.

Hello, a little rant here. I don't know whether people are becoming insensitive or I'm just taking things very seriously these times, but I beg of you, when I post about an update on the situation in Gaza, or about a lost life or any piece of news that is most likely horrifying and heartbreaking, do not repost or reblog with "yikes" or "real bullshit" or whatever goes in the same line. It just makes it seem so trivial when in fact it's world-shattering. Not to mention the horrible edits I see on Instagram/tiktok.
I literally came across an "Instagram reel" of my friend's UNCLE (who lost three of his kids, and was saying his goodbyes while they were in body bags), it was edited into a reel, with the effects and changing colors and the trending sound of the song "daylight by David kushner". I was speechless.
I know people show their solidarity differently, I know this. Especially through music, I've literally been listening to Samer songs as well as "Telk Qadieah", etc. But the edit I saw was way too much. I don't know how to explain it, because I've seen many reels of Palestinians in Gaza grieving and I thought it's important to share them but this one is different. It was like the edits you'd make for characters from a TV show or movie that died or had a sad storyline.
I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting but I genuinely feel like I'm going crazy. With everything going on and how it seems like some people are living in a parallel world rn.
I hope I don't get misunderstood, I'm not talking about the general clips with sometimes sad songs on them, I'm talking about certain edits the people started to make that are so weird and insensitive. Like the people they're editing aren't real, like they're some entertainment material.

I don't think younger/newer users fully grasp the shit show that ace discourse was around 2014-17
It was so hostile that, to this day, discussions that begin to derail just enough can make me physically nauseous, some specific mockery trigger crying sessions years later. We lost most accounts with any sort of ace positivity. There was no information, no support, and all this damage was done predominantly by other queer people.
All this to say that you, however you identify yourself, should be engaging with aphobic comments the same way you do any hate. We don't sugarcoat or try to be comprehensive with people who are blatantly racist, homophobic or terfs, so why give it a pass just because it's coming from a queer person? I see how this tolerance goes and it's done enough damage as it is.

Hot 4am take but I feel like if we want to get people more interested in making their yards a more habitable space for wildlife like insects, we have to acknowledge that ‘Don’t want bugs in your house’ is still a 100% fair and valid point of view. ‘Loves nature’ and ‘doesn’t want roaches spiders and mosquitoes in the house’ aren’t opposites.
And with that in mind, when we propose to people that spraying pesticides around houses is Not A Good Idea, Actually, I feel like we need to give an alternative asides from ‘deal with it.’
