Here I have two Scooby Doo personal digital assistants (PDAs) that I bought on eBay. I'll be exploring their functions today.
Each PDA takes 2 AAA batteries. The one with the black cover looked like it had a leaked battery, which may explain why it did not turn on. All of the footage from here on will be of the gray PDA on the right.
Powering on the PDA, I am first prompted to change the date and time from the default 12:00 Monday 01/01/01. The sound is on by default. It makes a high-pitched beep when you press any button, including the keyboard. I disabled it with the music note button in the bottom left, and you can see an identical symbol disappear on the bottom right of the display screen.
It fits pretty nicely in the palm of the hand. It was originally packaged with a stylus, but neither of mine came with one, so I had to use a screwdriver, which you will see in the video below in the complete tour of the PDA's functions.
Wit this device, you can:
Set the date and time
Set an alarm
Set a schedule
Perform basic calculator functions
Register phone numbers, e-mail addresses, web addresses,
Lock the above data behind a 4-digit password
"Track homework assignments" (write memos)
Play a memory game
The keypad was unresponsive at times, but that may be because I was using a screwdriver. If the sound effects weren't so grating, I would consider using this for the alarm and scheduler.
(End note: If anyone knows who this person is in the top left, let me know. I haven't a clue, and it's really bothering me.)
