Taking the Lord’s name in vain is as “popular” with people as second commandment violations.
Just about every secular movie, TV show, podcast, and song will have different variations of taking the Lord’s name in vain. We have become so desensitized to sin that we have no problem watching or listening to the same things pagans do. To have unbelievers misuse the Lord’s name in vain I can understand, but how could a Christian do it? The standard isn't the world. The standard is His Word.
Our Master tells us to obey His commandments, so how can you be so careless to do so? How can you use His blessed name as a curse word or use His wonderful name for such a futile manner of speech?
Tame that tongue of yours so you can stop using the Lord’s name in vain. Stop using the same thoughtless vocabulary as the world. Glorify Him through word and deed (Colossians 3:17). Remember what the Lord tells us, “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:37).
Keep Philippians 4:8 in mind before you feed your eyes and ears so you don’t end up seeing, and hearing, which will end up leading you to think about what is unholy.
---------------------- Nerd note: If you can say, for instance, an abbreviation as you would a normal word, that’s an acronym (e.g.: NASA); but if you have to spell it out instead of saying it in one go, that’s an initialism (e.g.: DVD).

Judges 13: God Sends His Angel To Tell Manoah And His Wife Will Give Birth To A Son Who Will Be Samson
1 Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, so the Lord delivered them into the hands of the Philistines for forty years.
2 A certain man of Zorah, named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, had a wife who was childless, unable to give birth.
3 The angel of the Lord appeared to her and said, “You are barren and childless, but you are going to become pregnant and give birth to a son.
4 Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean.
5 You will become pregnant and have a son whose head is never to be touched by a razor because the boy is to be a Nazirite, dedicated to God from the womb. He will take the lead in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines.”
6 Then the woman went to her husband and told him, “A man of God came to me. He looked like an angel of God, very awesome. I didn’t ask him where he came from, and he didn’t tell me his name.
7 But he said to me, ‘You will become pregnant and have a son. Now then, drink no wine or other fermented drink and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazirite of God from the womb until the day of his death.’”
8 Then Manoah prayed to the Lord: “Pardon your servant, Lord. I beg you to let the man of God you sent to us come again to teach us how to bring up the boy who is to be born.”
9 God heard Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman while she was out in the field; but her husband Manoah was not with her.
10 The woman hurried to tell her husband, “He’s here! The man who appeared to me the other day!”
11 Manoah got up and followed his wife. When he came to the man, he said, “Are you the man who talked to my wife?”
“I am,” he said.
12 So Manoah asked him, “When your words are fulfilled, what is to be the rule that governs the boy’s life and work?”
13 The angel of the Lord answered, “Your wife must do all that I have told her.
14 She must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, nor drink any wine or other fermented drink nor eat anything unclean. She must do everything I have commanded her.”
15 Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, “We would like you to stay until we prepare a young goat for you.”
16 The angel of the Lord replied, “Even though you detain me, I will not eat any of your food. But if you prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the Lord.” (Manoah did not realize that it was the angel of the Lord.)
17 Then Manoah inquired of the angel of the Lord, “What is your name, so that we may honor you when your word comes true?”
18 He replied, “Why do you ask my name? It is beyond understanding.”
19 Then Manoah took a young goat, together with the grain offering, and sacrificed it on a rock to the Lord. And the Lord did an amazing thing while Manoah and his wife watched:
20 As the flame blazed up from the altar toward heaven, the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame. Seeing this, Manoah and his wife fell with their faces to the ground.
21 When the angel of the Lord did not show himself again to Manoah and his wife, Manoah realized that it was the angel of the Lord.
22 “We are doomed to die!” he said to his wife. “We have seen God!”
23 But his wife answered, “If the Lord had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and grain offering from our hands, nor shown us all these things or now told us this.”
24 The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the Lord blessed him,
25 and the Spirit of the Lord began to stir him while he was in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Pray For Your Nation
Thank you Lord for Your Mercy which is new every morning. We are hoping for God’s intervention and protection and praying for His Mercy for our nations. God bless you and yours.
Thankful For God’s Mercy I feel sad today Jesus. You gave us a beautiful world and life, and we let our human condition run amuck. We sinful, greedy, power hungry human beings have aligned ourselves with the wiles of the devil, and in our personal lusts for all things us, we foolish humans have been deceived to be used by satan to steal, destroy, and kill each other in order to gain only…

Sunday Psalm 15
Psalm 15 Father, help me do and be all You want. Forgive me, help me do what is right. Help me to speak and know Your truth, to never lie about others or harm my neighbors in any way, and to never speak against my friends. I will despise all evil. I will honor and respect You! I will not change my witness. I will give without expecting anything in return. I will never speak against an innocent…

The Potter’s claim to His clay
Romans 9:14-24 What should we say then? Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not! For He tells Moses:
I will show mercy to whom I will show mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
So then it does not depend on human will or effort but on God who shows mercy. For the Scripture tells Pharaoh:
I raised you up for this reason so that I may display My power in you and that My name may be proclaimed in all the earth.
So then, He shows mercy to those He wants to, and He hardens those He wants to harden.
You will say to me, therefore, “Why then does He still find fault? For who can resist His will?” But who are you, a mere man, to talk back to God? Will what is formed say to the one who formed it, “Why did you make me like this?” Or has the potter no right over the clay, to make from the same lump one piece of pottery for honor and another for dishonor? And what if God, desiring to display His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience objects of wrath ready for destruction? And what if He did this to make known the riches of His glory on objects of mercy that He prepared beforehand for glory— on us, the ones He also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?
From clay, a potter can make pots that will hold beautiful flowers. Yet, from the same clay, he may make pots that will be used as bedpans. Both have their purpose in life.
Like the potter with his clay, so does the Lord create and mold us for use. Some of us He will mold into godly people, while others would be used—like Pharaoh—to teach us to come back to Him. The ones who are molded “for dishonor” serve as a reminder of His grace towards us, the ones who are saved.
This might seem unfair to some, to which the apostle Paul rightly replied to that type of thinking in Romans 9:19-21. He made us. He gets to use us as He sees fit. Some will be godly people; others will serve as a reminder of His judgment—like the Assyrian army—on disobedient peoples.
I thank God that He chose a sinner like me to be saved. As Charles Spurgeon put it, "I am quite certain that, if God had not chosen me, I should never have chosen Him; and I am sure He chose me before I was born, or else He never would have chosen me afterwards."
The apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 1:4, "just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him." He chose us; we didn't choose Him. And such grace exists so that we don't get to boast in our own decision to follow Him. Grace is a gift bestowed upon us. As Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."
Though we often can't see the purpose of the ones who aren't chosen to be saved, God has a purpose for them. And because we are all created by Him with a purpose, let us pray for each other and treat each other with respect. By loving one another, even our enemies, we are ultimately honoring God.

listen I expected literally Nothing from the D&D movie okay, like I can't make it clear enough that I expected the most soulless money grab with a good cgi budget imaginable, I went in having already gone through every stage of grief and landed on acceptance and LISTEN
I fucking CRIED during this dumb RPG movie. it wasn't just "not terrible" it was objectively good with a clever plot and compelling characters and sincere emotional beats. this movie loves D&D so fucking much and it NAILS the "a bunch of goobers try to be cool and accidentally discover The Power Of Friendship And Also Great Violence" classic D&D party vibe. their barbarian's last name is fucking Kilgore and my entire family cried in the theater.
I hope they make twelve of these motherfuckers.
