a/n: i sobbed reading this request i love this sm and i’m so sorry it took me so long to answer

when you first met hangman he was drunk off his ass

you’re busy talking to penny when your son (let’s call him max) says “mommy look at that man” and there he is, slumped over by the bar

you immediately hit it off

so you’re talking and hangman asks you “who’s the kid”, you say he’s yours and like. he just goes !!!. because he can see so much of you in that little boy and it makes him melt

you’d split from your husband of four years last year, but tbh the relationship was doomed from the start — you tried to be forgiving but after a certain point you couldn’t turn back, so you split, taking max with you

you end up talking all night and giving hangman advil for his killer headache. oops. someone needed to keep him in check yk

from then on you become close friends and he comes to visit you pretty much every chance he gets

usually, that’s in the evenings after he’s done with daily training

you know he’s here when max starts smiling and babbling about “mr. hangman”

but what if hangman was the key to said healing? he was always there for you when you needed him and gave max something to look forward to every day. the kid was smiling more often than he used to, and that said a lot

one day the top gun class was playing beach football. max points at the window and says “mr hangman!”

he doesn’t talk a lot. but this was one of the phrases he said the most

you’re busy getting supplies from the storage room, so you don’t notice him when he toddles out the back door and onto the beach — he also wanted to join in on the fun

hangman immediately drops what he’s doing and kneels down to the kid’s eye level

everyone else is confused bc they’ve never seen this toddler before so who’s kid is this tf???

“jake, don’t make him cry or i’ll kill you” — phoenix doesn’t know who this kid is nor where he came from but she right away goes into protective aunt mode

“don’t worry. i got this”

and so he puts the kid on his shoulders and starts introducing him to everyone

“there’s your uncle bob!” bob offers the kid a tiny fist bump

you’re worried sick at this point and have been looking for him all over the hard deck

but then you come outside and see your son being carried around on the shoulders by hangman, who’s making airplane noises and pretending he’s flying him around in an f-18. the man is DEDICATED

seeing everyone flock around your kid and shower him with love makes you feel whole again

like it’s this feeling you’ve been trying to find for ages and you’ve finally felt it and it’s so gratifying

“there’s my second favorite person!” hangman smiled at you

you got together officially by the end of that dinner date

and then maybe less than a year later you get engaged by the beach (the same spot where you all played football). hangman got max to help him propose and it was adorable

dude and everyone is fucking sobbing at the wedding

(i’m pretty sure phoenix cries harder than everyone else)

oh and don’t get me started on when you name her the godmother weeks after you and hangman get married

she’s a mess but she couldn’t be prouder

January 22nd-28th

Monday 22nd

Tuesday 23rd

Cara Buono(Karen’s acteress) was filming this day, so maybe some of her children are in hospital? Or maybe Ted is dying lol

they were filming second episode there(at least they should, Cara posted a video today were she said that it’ her first day and they were filming ep. 2)

Wednesday 24th

we got a new part of the video from the roof top. it looks like el is crying there. people are saying maybe it isn’t break up, bc Mike is laughing there

one of the new filming locations is some radio tower. and they made social media for it? yet they only posted some quotes from the show

“For what? for yesterday?” he asks softly. “no, i’m not mad,” he confirms, before hugging you tightly again.

“oh,” you wipe your eyes with the back of your hand.

“sorry, dove,” he uses his sweet nickname for you. “i love you, i love you, please don’t cry,” he mumbles hearing you sniff, and placing a kiss on your forehead.

he truly does, and it shows with how he’s holding you, cherishing you, and kissing you

“i’ll let you off to your friends now,” he says, once you’ve calmed in his arms.

“okay,” you giggle. “i’ll be be back quickly, babe.”

still in his arms, you tilt your head as he leans down to give you one last kiss.

“okay.” he smiles, but his hold doesn’t leave you, arms still wrapped around your waist.

“Testu,” you say his name, wondering when he’s gonna let go.

he hums, now his head laid on your shoulder.

“fine, fine.” his words make it seem as if he’s finally going to release you

however he just presses his lips into the corner of your neck, and whispers in your ear

you feel your cheeks warm from his comment and you’re finally able to pull away

“Mkay, g-gotta go!” you stutter, rushing out of the house.

he smirks, watching you tumble on your way out.

your partner, iwaizumi hajime, was in the work-out room doing some lifts when you popped your head in

“hey, hun! want me to bring you some water?” you ask your busy trainer husband

iwaizumi isn’t aware that he’s holding a stern expression on his face (especially when he’s working out)

aka a resting bitch face

so sometimes you can’t tell if he’s genuinely upset or if he’s just focusing really hard

especially these days, he’s been working a lot from doing his own training to meeting up with his players and training them

he would immediately arrive home to eat, chat a little, and go straight to sleep early

most of the time, too early that he’d leave you in the living room to finish off the show you were both watching

don’t get him wrong, he’s been feeling guilty about it….

“i’m fine. i still got some water with me,” he answers a bit tiredly, and turns his head slightly, back facing you

“Okay, then. Lemme know what ya need. Love you,” you say before walking off

but before walking off, you wait to give him some time to reply

but he doesn’t which disappoints you

iwaizumi grabs his water and takes a huge gulp from it, then continues with his lifting

what you don’t realize is that he meant to say “i love you” back but as he was drinking, a thought came to his head

what if i tease y/n a little? he wonders, thinking that maybe that will liven the mood a little

so he decided to keep quiet and let you saunter back in your room

you only frown at his seemingly indifferent nature as you make your way back to your shared bedroom to fold some laundry, deep in thought

you couldn’t help but think as you folded your husband sweater: is he not interested in me anymore?

you continued to organize the mix of tangled fabric thinking that it will perhaps organize your outrageous thoughts and emotions

but it doesn’t. in fact, it just makes you wallow in them.

so after clearing the basket of clean clothes, you lay on the bed to rest

perhaps sleeping will calm you down?

nope.

you can’t sleep.

instead tears roll down your cheeks, surprising you

why am i crying? you swipe an area beneath your eye and stare at the wetness on your finger in disbelief

nonetheless, tears continue to fall and you start to silently sob, realization hitting you

you just miss him.

“honey?” the familiar smooth baritone of a voice calls from behind you.

iwaizumi had expected you to retaliate so he waited and waited for you to stomp back into the room and demand an “ily” back

but your presence never made its way back so he comes to you instead

you lightly gasp, and shut your eyes, pretending to sleep so he won’t notice you crying.

he doesn’t need to know. he’s already been tired out enough. no need to add to it.

you feel the warmth of a presence make its way in front of you, sitting close to the bed.

“you’re asleep?” the soft voice says.

a thumb grazes your cheek.

you almost curse when you realize you didn’t finish drying your tears

“shit. were you crying?” your husband’s voice breaks.

you unconsciously lift your lids, wanting to see him

his face was near yours, eyes widening when yours open.

“hajime,” you reach out to him, and he has you in his arms, dipping himself into the bed to lay with you.

before you could say anything, he apologizes

the redness in your eyes breaking his heart

“i’m sorry,” he starts, “i love you, i love you, please don’t cry.”

he doesn’t even know where to start

he should’ve thought how you’ve felt this whole time

you spend the rest of the time, sharing words that should’ve been exchanged earlier

and it’s what truly improved the atmosphere of the house

he gives you a kiss, placing his lips sweetly on yours. “i love you,” he says again.

you reciprocate his actions and words.

“cmon, let’s cuddle,” he mumbles, rubbing his nose on your neck.

a resounding chuckle leaves your chest

“Haji,” you say, looking at his gazing lovey-dovey eyes. “You’re still sweaty.”

he suddenly remembers that he’s supposed to shower a while ago after exercising

▰ genre: fluff + comfort

a/n: this is purely self-indulgent since i’m currently on my period and tmi lol my own period is so so so so bad it puts me out of commission for more than a week sometimes and i have terrible symptoms but this is just me haha i wrote this with weak intentions under the guise of this being for me but if you enjoy it, then good 🥺 i hope u don’t hate this or me heehee

possible warnings: i don’t think i mentioned blood explicitly but just be aware ^^ + one suggestive joke lol

YEONJUN

- oh you can bet he’s going to drop everything just to be with you even if his schedule has arranged something extremely important

- he only remembered it was hell week because he wanted to go out after work and was making plans and called you up

- but when u said no and u never pass up going out with him, it clicked

- “oh my baby has that time come again?”

- “yes jesus and don’t put it that way, really there’s no nice way to put it but yes im bleeding out and in pain”

- “i’ll be right there” doesn’t even wait for ur response, he just zooms to u

- as soon as he’s with you, he basically throws himself on you

- frantically checking you the way a mother cub does to her babies (he’s sooooo)

- at this point, you’re experiencing the worst of ur pain: shivering, writhing, crying silently, and everything that could hurt hurts — you tell him this much

- “baby i’m so sorry oh no, we’ll fix this i promise you” he assures you, wiping your tears with his thumbs and his pout is so big you even feel bad for garnering such a frowny face on your lively and bright boyfriend

- he grabs an extra heating pad and slips it under your shirt so it’ll be more in contact with you and tucks you in with a weighted blanket, settling a pillow under your feet and ensuring to his best capability that you’re as comfortable as can possibly be

- he’s frantic with it but keeps his facial expression calm

- he tries to kiss you to distract you, a little hopeful because he knows his kisses have an effect and as much as you do respond and reciprocate, he has to admit defeat when you’re basically crying

- yeonjun brews a tea as fast as he can, making sure it’s to your taste and blows at it as he spoons it into your mouth even though you tell him you can drink it yourself

- “hush, my love, you need to drink as much as you can”

- he gives you a proper dosage of ibuprofen and massages your legs once you’re done

- once the main symptoms have calmed down enough that you’re not chattering your teeth, yeonjun sighs with false relief

- “glad that’s over with, yn, it hurts to see you in pain”

- “oh, yeonjun, if only that were true” you say with a smile that turns into a laugh bc he realizes….

- he cuddles with you, like full on you’re lying on top of him, your head on his chest and he’s hugging you to him until you fall asleep

- when you wake up from the discomfort, you realize that 1, yeonjun’s in the kitchen because you can hear his singing from your bed and 2, you’ve bled through and not just through your clothes and comforter but through your favorite blanket

- to say you’re heartbroken is an understatement - you washed it just days before and you had saved the last of your fabric softener just so it would smell good while you rot in bed for the week

- yeonjun returns from cooking the FIRST meal of the day to check on you to find you waddling around the room with your sheets balled up in your arms

- “oooo” he winces as he comes closer to you, running his palm over your forehead but when his hand moves to ur cheek, he feels the tears and he’s FREEZES

- he pouts and follows right behind you as you drop the blankets and covers to the washer

- “are you done following me around”

- “absolutely not!”

- while you’re already in the bathroom he knocks and lets you know that he’ll be in the kitchen

- in the back of his mind he wants to be as close to you as possible and never leave your side but he knows that you’re sensitive during these trying times and with that side of the blade being emotional, the other is your irritability and there’s a chance that you might snap and so might he

- but regardless he knows he at least needs to keep you eating and hydrated and rested

- he takes the period pain very personally

- however, while in the shower, one of your episodes befalls you

- this consists of you growing so terribly weak all over you can’t even keep yourself standing, you get intense nausea, and it becomes so hard to breathe

- miraculously, you’re out of the shower but on the floor struggling and trying to dress yourself when yeonjun’s singing voice can be heard moving closer towards you

- he can hear you coughing and taking swift but shallow breaths and his singing stops

- “uh baby are you okay in there?” yeonjun sounds so worried

- it takes you a while to respond, trying to regulate your breaths because this happens every now and then, and it’s not like you’re going to pass out because you’ve made it this far without passing out except that you have but ur not lucid enough to think right

- after a few minutes of complete silence, yeonjun musters up the courage to knock like crazy before cracking the door open to peek in

- long story short, he found you literally passed out but at least you were fully clothed but you were dripping wet 😭 hey but at least he managed to take you back to your bed and tuck you in

- yeonjun is worried scared sad and everything in between, even after you wake up and tell him that this has happened a few times before and it’s going to continue to happen

- poor thing

- the rest of the day goes by with you eating his home cooked meals, drinking lots of water and tea, walking around the house when the pain isn’t bad, all while yeonjun does his best to not annoy you while he’s as clingy as can possibly be

- at night, he’s still pouting about it

- “your frown is not gonna make it go away any quicker, junnie”

- he presses the heating pad more against your tummy and sprinkles kisses your cheek

- “yeah but i can think of one way to make it go away”

- “oh, you’re going to hell”

- yeonjun chokes with laughter, snuggling more into your neck, relieved and happy to finally see you not in pain and discomfort

SOOBIN

- soobin takes empathy to an entire new level

- this isn’t his first rodeo, meaning not only is this first time experiencing hell week with you, but he thinks he understands enough

- but now that he’s lying on his stomach, his head on your torso, and you’re holding his hand in a bone crushing way (which by itself is saying a lot because his hands are huge and god forbid he were to hit someone, they’d probably evaporate but anyway) soobin begins to think he can’t even keep it together for the both of you

- the entire day somehow you manage to be fine or at least you’re not suffering, so you both had gotten through the day running errands but when you were about to go home, things took a turn

- and when things took a turn, it meant that you were struggling to brush off the pain of your cramps

- he tries to take your mind off of the pain by holding your hand or massaging your thigh but it doesn’t work

- “just stop trying, soobin” you cry out and he tries not to take it personally but he fails to do so, retracting his hand and sulking about it

- once back home, you run inside instead of waiting for the other so you can walk in hand in hand

- sue him for being emotional! he spends the next few minutes trying to get himself to calm down and get himself to man up because the last thing you need, in these moments, is a very crybaby guy like him

- soobin enters your bedroom, apology on his tongue, when every other thought leaves because he sees you

- you look so tiny and helpless as you’re now in ur pjs, shivering, curled up on your bed and even with the dim lighting, soobin can see your face is wet with tears and sweat and ooh his heart is broken

- he feels worse but this isn’t about him, he tells himself

- you have a fever, you’re cramping, and your muscles are terribly sore — you say that much to him when he asks what’s wrong

- “are you sure this is just your period” he questions in disbelief, shuffling some blankets around so that they don’t enable your fever and he’s stunned when you say that it is

- all his previous knowledge comes flying out the window and after ensuring you’ve taken an ibuprofen and that you get a heating pad and you have a cold, wet damp cloth on your forehead

- he also makes sure to (just like the others) ask “where does it hurt?” and you tell him and he tries to rub and massage everywhere and even if your boobs are sore, you can tell there’s panic in his eyes but he’s still like “do you want me to massage there too 👉👈”

- and you let him, he’s really red but you’re like “it really does help, don’t feel shy” and that makes him go 😼

- anyway after settling you down he also has one foot out the door, thumb hovering over his sister’s number, the other foot in, spilling sweet nothings and reassurances, “if you need anything, i mean anything at all, honey, i’ll be right outside, i love you yn, i’ll come back to your side as soon as i’m done with this call i swear, okay? just hang in there, love”

- and as soon as he closes the door behind himself, he makes three separate phone calls: one to his sister, one to his mom, and another to taehyun, and they each take about five minutes each

- he messily writes down recipes that are given to him by his mom and taehyun, and he compares and contrasts your condition with his sister’s, and by the time he’s done making such nervous calls, he realizes your condition isn’t normal

- they tell him in some way or another that his panicking isn’t helping your condition so whether he likes it or not, he’s really gotta pull it together

- taehyun is also really strict with him while talking him through each recipe and the light meal he’s making at the moment

- “hey no need to get too cocky tyunnie i’m still your hyung”

- “hyung, you’re the one who’s not being careful, your bread’s about to overcook”

- taehyun: 1, soobin: 0

- eventually, he checks up on you and changes the washcloth on your forehead, peels off a thick comforter from you much to your dismay, and spoon feeds you medicine very quietly even if your favorite show was five times louder than anyone in the room

- while you’re napping, soobin bakes bread to calm himself down and hopefully by eating something yummy and warm, it’ll help

- warmth is key to combatting your symptoms, which is contradicting because it is also the key symptom of your fever but he digresses

- you’re on your way back from the bathroom when you spot his big figure seated on the bed next to your spot

- he’s smiling warmly as he helps you back in bed and moving your hair out of your face

- “i made you some bread, yn, i hope you like it”

- you eat pretty quietly and weakly and he begins to doubt himself until you lift your head with a smile that pulls him back down to earth

- “it’s delicious as always, thank you, soobin, i love you” and you give him a smooch on his cheek

- how is he not supposed to swoon at that

- it takes a while but he joins you in bed and rubs your back up and down as you try a different position to lay in

- you two talk about nothing very quietly (even if you don’t have to) for an hour or so and he makes you laugh a lot and it distracts you enough that the next wave of cramps surprises you and him

- your fever has subsided but you’re still chattering your teeth and shaking and he has to coax you to changing the way you guys are laying

- which brings us to soobin basically looking up at you from your hip, hot tears rolling down his cheeks

- why is that the person he loves most has to suffer like this for a week, a bit longer at times, and every month?! it’s madness!

- “why are you crying, soobinnie?”

- he’s sobbing with you as he tells you that he hates seeing you in pain

- the more you cry, the more he does, and even if he feels disappointed in himself for not being strong for the both of you, his insecure feelings dissipate when you tell him, after crying your eyes swollen and your heating pad has cooled and you’re no longer in pain, that it made you feel better: that he made you feel better.

BEOMGYU

- as infinitely caring and thoughtful and sympathetic as he is, beomgyu tries his best to keep up with everything and fails miserably but he tries his best nonetheless !! he has the biggest heart of anyone you could ever know after all

- to accurately describe how he feels about the entire ordeal is confused, angry, but guilty

- the night before work, while you guys were on a walk, you were complaining about cramps that would attack you every now and then but you paid them no mind so he just walked you back to your place and kissed you goodnight and went to sleep at the dorms leaving you alone (which was how you usually were but that didn’t make leaving you easier)

- but of course when he was at work you texted him and told him that hell week had indeed commenced (really just to update him) and he was genuinely :0

- “god im sorry sweetie but what exactly do you mean by hell week? can’t imagine how bad it must be for you to call it that”

- (beomgyu can be also be quite naive bc his soul is pure)

- you try your best to explain how you get a little more than the regular cramping and bleeding and he’s horrified

- he comes straight to you once he’s done with his work and he’s still mortified about what you go through

- “i feel like you should go to the doctor for that kind of stuff” he says quietly

- “nonsense, this is normal, now hand me the heating pad”

- he grumbles about it but decides on doing his best to distract you while you recover

- of course, it’s all a learning experience for him

- he tries tickling you at some point but you hit him too hard for his liking so he stops

- he just wants to hold you and make you laugh like always but you keep saying that you’re too gross but he doesn’t buy it but he doesn’t wanna budge so he stays 😔

- you’re sprawled out on the bed weird and you have two pairs of socks on and you’re squeezing the heating pad to your tummy like your life depends on it

- there’s a knock at the door and he gets it and comes back with a bag, telling you that he texted one of the guys to go to the convenience store and get you your favorite snacks and drinks and foods

- “beomgyu why’d you get me so much oh my god”

- apparently he thinks people on their periods get cravings like pregnant people do and it was an innocent belief really but cmon

- you give him a big kiss one that makes him beam and visibly happy and tell him to thank whoever bought your stuff

- now that you gave him a kiss, it gives him a little courage to ask for cuddles to which you oblige with a little sigh

- you’re the one cuddling to him with your head, leg, and arm on his body and he’s rubbing your back mindlessly while you both watch the sequel to some movie and it’s going good – to him because he’s thinking “if this is how it always is, it can’t be that bad”

- oh, beomgyu

- at one point, you ask to be covered with your blanket and he covers you up and while doing so, he feels firsthand how ice cold your legs feel and he screams

- “babe i told you this happens it’s okay”

- “you’re like a corpse 😭😭😭” he’s so distraught

- the angle that you’re laying in somehow manages to stretch your cramps and increase the pain so when they return, you have to retract away and you’re back to shaking, writhing, and near tears

- “maybe if i make you something to eat you’ll feel better — my mom told me if i ever took a pill or i was sick i’d feel better with a warm cooked meal”

- and he’s said this to you before and he’s right but you tell him sadly that you don’t have an appetite when you’re on your period and eating can make you nauseous at times

- he sighs and whines

- “then you expect me to just sit here and watch you roll around in pain? i can’t! you need to eat something i do not care what you say”

- and he walks out refusing to listen to you anymore he is upset! he’s upset that you can’t eat even when you need to

- he brings you some water and a warmed up heating pad, trying to think of something to make you, and his anger returns when he sees you taking ibuprofen like crazy

- “that’s enough!” he gives you a good scolding about how you shouldn’t be taking so much medicine if you aren’t eating and he does it all with a big pout

- even if he’s mad he doesn’t yell or express it entirely on his face — the most he’ll do is frown or sulk or be stern

- and you’re thankful because if he so much as raised his voice at you, you’d cry for eternity

- beomgyu calls soobin and poor guy answers with a sigh “how can i help you” since he’s been spammed with texts all day from him

- “can you tell me how to make that thing you guys made for me when i was sick and i didn’t want to eat but you guys made it for me anyway and it was really good okay i need you to tell me how to make it step by step”

- he’s panicking and soobin has to calm him down

- it takes soobin asking taehyun asking kai asking yeonjun for beomgyu to remember some of it and write down the rest of the recipe

- by the time he’s done and is coming in with the meal neatly arranged, you’re still grimacing and shivering, legs elevated on a pillow but wrapped up in your blanket

- he remembers painfully that what you experience is a bit abnormal

- beomgyu pouts and quietly calls your name so that you’re not startled when he approaches you

- he feeds you the meal little by little, even dabs your face with a napkin, and is ready to feed you the water too until you take it from him a little incredulously

- whole time while he’s feeding you though, he’s talking the entire time and his voice soothes you

- “i know you’ve heard that story before and you must be wondering why i’m talking so much and i am, too, but i think it’s because i feel weird in charge but i like it, i want to take care of you more. i want you to let me because i love you, you’re so wonderful and cute and crazy and i love so much that you love me, too”

- when you’ve eaten as much as you could, you’re already crying

- “oh no baby, i’m sorry i’m sorry” he’s already thinking it’s because of the nausea and the cramps and your sore muscles like you’d told him earlier

- he’s already rising to either call soobin again or heat up some tea when you grab his wrist and pull him back

- “you’re the sweetest boy in the whole world” you sob

- and it makes him smile but throw himself at you (in a restrained and safe way)

- he kisses your forehead and thumbs your tears away

- “you look pretty when you cry, how lucky is that”

- everything he says is so dumb and sweet that even if it might make you feel worse, overall he’ll always manage to bring a smile and laugh to you – that and many many more hugs and kisses and who are you to deny yourself that?

TAEHYUN

- let’s just say taehyun is as practical as he thinks he should be once he knows the facts because if it’s one thing he won’t stand for, it’s his yn in pain !

- taehyun goes to the convenience store late one night and calls you to see if you want anything and when u pick up, timidly but weakly asking for pads

- full world stop for him lol

- he asks exactly which type you need and that he can identify and get to the best of his ability and he even asks if you want anything else within the store

- he gets you literally everything you want (they’re mainly beverages bc ur a very beverage person sorry u don’t get a say)

- taehyun goes straight to ur place to see you, even calling the elders to tell him he won’t back until after tomorrow

- he holds you super tight to him, kissing your head and rubbing your arms, your back, tummy, and even your legs

- he massages your limbs while you drink ur favorite beverage and tell him how exactly you felt today

- u try to massage his biceps a little too and he smiles but reassures u that he’s okay

- he stays over for the night and while you eventually took a pill for the pain along with some tea taehyun made, u fall asleep at least for a little while

- he actually stays up to research how to help get you through the pain and hell week because every time is the same but different and it’s delicate (like you) bc ur condition isn’t normal

- not even his limited knowledge from his experience with his sister could help

- taehyun lets you sleep in the next day, purposefully keeping the sunlight blocked until you wake up on your own

- “hey yn are u doing okay?” he smoothes your hair from your face

- “let me know when ur okay to eat, okay?”

- of course, it isn’t until a few hours or so after that he forces u to eat – he will not stand by ur lack of appetite

- he made u a decked out meal – your favorite as the main dish but with so many other sides of healthy stuff

- makes you eat every last bit even if you argue

- when u ask for sweets later, he tells you you can’t have any since apparently, sweets actually make ur pain much worse

- “if you want something sweet, yn, i can make u a smoothie or i can buy some dark chocolate or get u some tropical fruit”

- you’re basically 😃💔 *eye twitch* but you say nothing bc hey he offered alternatives!

- he makes u drink tea constantly and u don’t even like it that much so ur lowkey getting grossed out

- and you can’t even begin to cover the amount of vitamins he’s making you take – mind you, theyre all gummies since he knows you prefer them but still it’s so many

- by the time it’s the afternoon you get a little deeper into your covers while binge watching tv and just as you’re feeling tired, taehyun calls for change of plans

- “come on love let’s go outside”

- it’s actually not bad outdoors but he crosses the line when he makes you walk a walking trail at a local park without telling you and you feel gross and tired so ur mood is definitely 👎

- “yn how are we feeling”

- you glare at him

- deep down you feel horrible bc he’s going out of his way to take care of you and this is his way of doing so but it hurts so it feels torturous

- of course, the pain is merciless so about thirty minutes in it returns at maximum strength and as embarrassing as it is, you go from weeping to sobbing quietly unable to walk or move anymore and it must look funny but scary but weird

- “yn come on it’s not so bad is it! there’s no need to cry if u truly don’t want to walk — oh”

- “taehyun it hurts im not crying bc im that big of a baby oh god u think im a big baby 💔” (dramatic/exaggerated)

- “NONONONO”

- homie ends up having to take you into his arms and help walk you back to the car so u can go back home

- you take an ibuprofen in the car but it doesn’t work so ur just sniffling and crying it’s literal agony

- taehyun thinks u hate him and he feels so bad but honestly u can’t tell since he keeps it together so well

- he helps you inside and makes some more tea, offering one last ibuprofen and getting your heating pad, fluffing your pillows and he tucks you in

- you wake up from a little nap to see him fixing your blanket and surprised at the pain that isn’t killing you

- he really did help you 😣

- taehyun comes in with another tea set and is trying to be as quiet as possible until he hears you call out his name

- the way his eyes search for yours and the way he smiles when his eyes find you

- he sets it down and sits beside you, rubbing your cheek with his thumb as he cups your face

- “how are you feeling, yn?” he’s whispering

- you take his hand into yours and press a kiss to his palm. it’s there you apologize for giving him such a hard time when all he was doing was literally helping

- he refuses to hear it, giving you a tight hug and kissing your cheek

- “kai you really can just go home im just going to be crying or sleeping” that did NOT make him feel better

- true to ur word, you stayed in bed the whole day and would only get up to go to the bathroom every now and then

- sometimes he’d help you walk bc ur legs are very very very sore when ur on ur period

- while he’s walking you he shakily goes “i just wanted to tell you that ur really beautiful and i love you”

- “kai im not dying u don’t have to make a lasting confession”

- “but it’s the truth 😔”

- nothing relieves HIM of his worries

- calls lea asking all these period questions and all anyone can hear is “is it normal for…..” and “hyuka im not a doctor”

- but really he asks for advice at least and he really realizes that your condition isn’t normal

- lea has to snap him out of it

- “you’re not on ur period, yn is!!” she scolds gently and gives him tips before ending the call

- he calls bahiyyih too to ask for her input and oh ! u guessed it — she says the same thing !

- he buys you takeout and brings it to ur bed, arranged in a very cute way, and he brings you vitamins too

- while ur both watching some sad movies, he’s so into the thought that you have to go through this every month that he starts crying

- “hyuka this isn’t even a sad part what’s wrong”

- and he tells you

- and you cry a little because he’s so sweet

- “but yeah i die for like a little more than a week straight isn’t it great”

- needless to say, kai did not like that sarcasm

- kai at some point calls yeonjun to bring some of his plushies over to your place so you’d feel better even though that was more for his sake — he liked to think they were better protection and security

- yeonjun brings them in a big basket and even stops by to check on you, bringing by some soup since even his mom was worried so she’d instructed him to make food

- you and kai called yj’s mom and chatted on the phone for a bit to which yj sulked after a while “can i have my mom back”

- the plushies surround you on your bed and again when the actual pain comes you either squeeze one to your chest or you hug kai to ur chest — either or, they’re both cuddly and comforting

- most importantly, the whole day, he gives u tummy rubs like the entire day and he loves it probably more than you do, sometimes patting your belly then rubbing and then he’ll change it up and announce “oooh counterclockwise” and he goes in a different direction it’s all so endearing and comforting

- once it’s night, he makes sure there’s water or tea on the nightstand and tells u to wake him up if u need him and he knocks out soundly, his head and arm draped over ur chest and tummy — it was a long day even for him :( but it’s not over for him unless it’s over for u

“Matt,” Foggy says. “I-I can’t find her,” Matt stammers, feeling dizzy. “It’s okay, Matt. She’s upstairs resting,” Karen assures him. They take Matt to you. You’re sitting in the hospital bed with your leg in a cast. But you don’t look bothered at all. In fact, you’re watching one of your favorite Disney movies while eating an ice cream sundae. You smile as you see your friends and boyfriend walk in. “Hey! I was wondering when you guys would come back!”

Karen and Foggy wave to you, while Matt tries to figure out what’s wrong with your body. “Matty,” you say, sitting up in bed. “I have a broken leg and bruised ribs, but nothing the doctor’s said can’t fix,” you say with a happy smile. Then Matt starts crying. Foggy and Karen move to comfort him, but you give them a smile and a nod, telling them that you have this handled. They leave you two alone. You reach out for Matt’s hand, pulling him closer to your bed. He sits down next to your leg. “Baby, I’m okay,” you say. He shakes his head. “N-No, you’re not. You won’t be able to walk. “Baby, it’s not as bad as you think. I just can’t lift heavy things, I have to make sure I don’t bump it. No strenuous activity. Which means no sex for a while, especially with my leg. But hey, hopefully I heal fast,” you say with a grin.

Matt shakes his head, not being able to laugh. He admires your optimism. He wishes he had that, but he can’t shake the fact that he almost lost you. You’re the most important person to him. You’re the one who keeps him grounded, the one who cares and loves him no matter if he’s having a hard day or a good day. You’ve stuck by him for many years, and the thought of losing you makes him sick. He can’t believe he got close to that today.

You slip your hand into his, bringing it up to your lips to kiss his knuckles. “Matt, stop thinking whatever you are thinking and listen to me. I know what happened was scary, but I am okay. I’m really lucky I didn’t get injured worse. I know this sucks, and trust me, I’m not happy about this either, but it’s just what it is. But the important thing is is that I’m alive. I’m breathing, and honestly, I don’t feel too bad. This bruised rib will heal quickly, and the leg will take some time, but I’ll get there.”

“I know, but I —”

“Nu-uh. Do not blame yourself,” you shake your head. “You’re not allowed to.”

Matt sighs and nods, taking his glasses off to wipe his eyes. “I know you’re okay. I-I know you’re going to be okay, but I almost lost you. This just proves that you’re in danger with being with me. I have a lot of enemies and one of them almost killed you today. I… I can’t lose you, Y/n. I’ve already lost so many, I can’t lose you, too.”

You lean over and kiss him sweetly. He leans forward so you can lean back in bed, reaching his hand up to cradle the back of your head. Your hand squeezes his as you pull away. You look into his eyes, cupping his cheek. “I’m sorry to say, Matt, but you are stuck with me. I don’t care you have enemies. I don’t care if they’re after me, too. What I do care about is helping you and sticking by your side. I know it can be scary. I’m scared, honestly, but it isn’t enough for me to break up with you. We are going to get through this together. And once I feel a little better, I can help you on your little missions again.”

Matt chuckles a little bit and you smile. He’s feeling a bit better. “You in that black suit is really tempting, but I don’t want you out with me again.” You groan, “c’mon! For twisted wonderland, some romantic and platonic maybe? Idk. I kind of don’t know what I’m doing lol

Things about me bc that’s probably important:

- I am very……..very scatterbrained. I can remember what happened 10 years ago but not last week. Yesterday is nothing to me. My memory is either crystal clear or blurred completely, there’s no inbetween.

- Sometimes whether it’s late at night or just after a good movie I have what I call “crack energy” where I’ll start laughing hysterically at the most mundane things or at random things that I say.

- I have a lot of nervous tics, like picking dead skin on my fingers and rocking on my feet but I also have a few verbal ones as well (idk what else to call them, I make these random noises that change slightly depending on my mood).

- Depending on the circumstances I can either be extremely adaptable and rise to the occasion (like emergencies or when someone needs first aid) and in others I end up having a lot of anxiety than is healthy to the point where I’ll start to shake/count money wrong (the line at DQ starts to get pretty long). But either way, I’m very good at trying things out at least once.

- I?? I love frogs and snakes and all sorts of critters. I also love macabre decorations like animal bones used to decorate picture frames? I live for that. Mushrooms have been among my favorite types of fungus for years, I love seeing how people have studied them.

- while I’m not the most athletic person, I do take a Brazilian jiu jitsu class twice a week and I’m close to testing for my final belt in a self defense class. It’s really fun, but violent (In my first class I learned the guillotine choke which has become my favorite since then).

- No matter what happens I try to look on the bright side of things, although with a slightly morbid twist. Like, for example, “if this campsite floods and we’re swept away, at least we’ll be a cool news story to read about” or something. Also, I love to travel and visit people.

- I am very affectionate, but when a certain time of the month rolls around I am very VERY emotional, and it’s awful the two days leading up to it. When I’m really angry at something I have what my family calls a “death glare” that my brothers are apparently terrified of. It’s only something I can properly pull off when I’m properly mad, and I I can’t think about it either or else it doesn’t work. If I’m not angry, I might be crying over something small (usually the result of a whole bunch of other things spilling over into a breakdown.

- I have a weighted stuffed octopus and it’s become one of my most prized possessions. I have a lot of stuffed animals but it’s become my favorite bc I love feeling weight on me for some reason.

Hey Sydney (you finally found some luck etc)! How was the show??

hello friend!!! i was waiting for you to reach out (though i was gonna make a post when i got back home)

warning for those who are reading on - i’m on mobile so no read more, and these incohesive thoughts WILL include spoilers for the film and musical versions of wine and roses. read on at your own risk!

so i loved it, though as always i have thoughts. first thing i want to mention is i love the staging. i was up super close and the pre-show staging is reminiscent of a greenhouse

which i found so evil! but they were creative in the staging to keep the action moving. my favorite bits were the pivotal pier scene takes place overlooking the audience. brian and kelli moved over the set piece and stepped out onto us and were literally staring right down at us as they spoke! kelli’s first line for that was “look at all this trash” which got us a laugh. there were also two little pools of water on stage which they utilized nicely. there was one moment when kelli’s character is on a bender and she falls and for a minute we forget the pool is there and she almost falls in. they also had brian climb up the side of the stage to act out the climbing out the window to the greenhouse.

i want to start with brian. he was incredible. i’ve always loved him and this is a fact, but god damn he was crushing it. it was honestly really emotional seeing him up close! he has an amazing voice and he really captures the complexities of joe - it’s hard to fill an established film star’s shoes, and BDJ has shown he can go toe to toe with jack lemmon AND tony curtis. the scene that got me with him was the greenhouse scene (i’ll elaborate on this more in a minute). he really goes for the physicality of it - my only note, and i know this is bc it’s staged, is that i really wanted to see brian go for it and just tear up the greenhouse the way film joe does. his performance is intense but i wanted to see him GO THERE.

kelli is the star of this show. most people at my show were there for her, but also she gets the big songs and the big moments, and that’s fine bc she’s fucking kelli o’hara. she is an amazing singer…. and kirsten is a really hard character to play. she really had me concerned for her at so many moments (where she sets the apartment building on fire… i knew that was coming but there were several little fake outs that had me holding my breath).

i have issues processing songs on a first listen so it’s hard for me to talk about the music, but i will say the song they sing every time they fall off the wagon gutted me. the first time it’s so charming! a little dance ditty (and watching them dance is SO FUN) but when it continues to come up again and again i just started crying lol. there’s also a really good song brian and then later kelli sings about finally recognizing yourself while sober. kelli and the actress who plays their kid have a song that made me cry too towards the end

so my biggest “issues” with the show are that…. i don’t really like how the show adapts the jim storyline! the actor who plays jim is great, but so many of his lines are about how joe is a born drunk and he’ll die a drunk and once he accepts that he can get sober, etc., which feels……. i don’t know! not very nuanced re: addiction. especially when the show cuts out one of the most important bits of dialogue from the movie, that kirsten’s love of chocolate may have been a warning sign of an addictive tendency. the show seems to imply that joe was born this way but he MADE kirsten an addict, instead of the reality that she already had those same tendencies too. it’s a weird change that kinda alters the dynamic the characters have.

i also wish the show had utilized some of the most powerful visual moments from the film: joe being so drunk he crushes the flowers he brings home (this happens in the show but it’s never really addressed), joe seeing his reflection in the mirror and not recognizing himself (brian does this in passing - if you’re looking at him you see it, but the focus is on kelli so it can easily go unnoticed and it’s never addressed!), and the last shot of joe and the BAR neon sign. this last one is most likely something they wanted to do but couldn’t in lighting, but still! it’s an iconic and heartbreaking shot. i would have loved to see that.

little things i loved: brian and kelli were clearly having so much fun and that was a joy to watch, they have such an easy chemistry, you could easily buy that these two people were in love, brian does the thing he always does where he shimmies his hips and it’s so embarrassing, he also does a little strip tease and i was fucking dying, the actress who plays their kid is so good and she has one of the most heartbreaking lines that no one seemed to get — “i know how to do everything,” which made me cry! again, the greenhouse scene is just amazingly well done and the greenhouse set becomes a part of the staging for the rest of the musical, as if joe’s actions continue to haunt him throughout the rest of it.

i’m trying to think of what else to say! it’s just really good and i’m so happy i got to see it. i don’t know what will happen with the show in the future, but i hope more people get a chance to listen to it or watch it.

also i didn’t talk much about meeting brian! he was really nice, when i showed him the ssos script he was genuinely stunned. he was like oh wow! and when he asked me who to make it out to, he thought i was joshing him when i said my name was sydney. but he was kind - i told him how much he means to me (and all of us!) and he thanked me. he was like don’t miss kelli!! before he left. kelli was super sweet too - she had the same reaction lol, “oh wow!” and then bc i can here’s me and the bestie again:
