#I'm so glad we have this quest in our hands
Note
I knew you'd like the idea >:3
Just imagine the characters having an intervention meeting without the creator and they bring THAT up and the notebook along with it and the entire room just goes to silence and no one know how to bring the fact that close to half of the deaths later on were of their own creator's hands.
You're right though, I def think that Sumeru would actually make the problem worse and potentially cause a relapse in which case another nation takes over and Sumeru is seen as worse or inferior for causing more pain to the creator (like the little hypocrites they are smh)
Imagine there's some pages on the old notebook of just describing how they felt and the reader can see the slow descent to madness as each death happens and it's like forbidden knowledge for them to the point that it actually like becomes risk of being lethal, so they kinda stop looking into it and just try their best to heal their creator and just leave the skeleton in the closet, per say.
I forgot to put my little thing on the last post but here it is again! I have way more ideas for sagau that i will probably never get to write so i'm happy to share them!
🍌anon
🍌 anon I want you to know that I am eating everything up cause MY GOD THE WAVELENGTHS WE'RE HAVING AAAAA
And ohhhhh ohhhhhh forbidden knowledge, your brain rn omg. CHRIST ALMIGHTLY
Some of the notes would actually be forbidden knowledge, especially if we're talking the early ones and if the creator was isekaied before Sumeru's archon quests. Omg- NO ONE CAN READ THE FIRST COUPLE OF EDITIONS, besides for Traveler-
Wait....this just made me realize something. I FORGOT TO EVER THINK ABOUT THE TRAVELER, WHAT ROLE WOULD THEY EVEN HAVE??? OH GOD HOW COULD I OVERLOOK THIS WAIT
Putting a pin in that for later (slamming my head against the wall over this)
But yeah Traveler is probably the one that creator would be closest too, because they have to be the first ones (besides Nahida or Neuvillette) to know the truth. So when the notebooks are found they're the only ones allowed to read it. So they would be at the meeting and conveying what is necessary but also keep the important parts our for the sake of the creator's privacy and to keep the forbidden knowledge from infesting again.
What probably keeps them at an advantage is the language creator uses can only be read by Traveler since Teyvat's language is usually translated for us in game in our own languages.
And also yes Sumeru would be worst, glad we agree. BUT THAT'S ONLY BECAUSE OF THE AKADEMIYA, Azar fucking sucks and would never understand. BUT- if we're talking with Alhaitham being the acting leader then there's a higher chance for them. Especially with the other Sumeru characters being there, and Nahida!! Nahida would be a godsend since she obviously would have the most knowledge, both known and unknown, and also would be able to peer review others ideas based on when she's read the memories of the creator (poor baby got traumatized tho-)
PLUS! Kuni (Wanderer name I use, making sure that's known) being our body guard, ain't no way creator is dying even if it is their wish. Combine that with Cyno also on guard duty and you got a chance of healing way better then whenever Azar (fuck that guy seriously) was in charge.

"Where's Shoko?" Gojo asks as the two of you walk back into the kitchen/dining area.
Before Nanami could answer, the kitchen doors swing open, revealing a girl with brown hair. "What now—oh, you must be Y/n." She smiles. "I'm Shoko, I'm so happy to have someone smart."
"Oh, thanks," you laugh, "Are you a doctor as well?" She nods and takes out a cigarette.
"I for sure would've thought that you'd quit those by now." Gojo shakes his head, assisting you in sitting.
"I will." She rolls her eyes. "Unless we figure out how to make our own." Shoko winks at you.
It's ironic, a doctor smoking. They're all about health and here she is, smoking a cigarette without a care in the world, literally.
"How do you deal with him?" She asks you, "I already like you more than Gojo."
"He's not that bad." You say and he grins at you. "Well," you begin, "he did almost get us killed the first time we met."
"He's never leaving your side now." Shoko shakes her head, "You should've seen him before all of this happened."
"He was insufferable." Nanami's deep voice chimes in.
"Hey!" Gojo frowns, "I'm not that bad."
The entire group laughs, it felt a little nice to forget about the tragedies happening outside. It's quickly ruined as you let your mind slip away from the conversation at hand.
You remember everything that you had taken for granted. Now you're sure it'll never go back to normal unless there's another planet suitable for sustaining life. Even then, there's no way of knowing if there's someone capable of building a rocket.
You're in the beginning stages of spiraling, you feel like crying and shutting out the whole world. You excuse yourself to the bathroom, everybody continues the conversation. You briefly hear them talking about getting some rest for the night as you leave.
You quickly close the bathroom door behind you, your breathes become more rapid and tears begin to fill your eyes, you don't bother in blinking them away. You think it's better to feel your emotions rather than conceal them. You manage to keep your meltdown quiet, so others wouldn't worry as they walked by.
The thought of life and how everything is gonna turn out is eating you alive, your tears fall quicker when you think about if you'll survive, you're careful when going out, but are you going to have to live your entire life killing zombies and scavenging for food?
You're overwhelmed by the amount of questions flooding your mind, but you begin to calm yourself down, firstly by your breathing. They're not as frantic as before, you remind yourself to take it day by day. 'You're not alone now.' You repeat to yourself.
You blow your nose and wash your face to cool you down, your eyes look tired as you stare at yourself in the mirror. You give yourself another minute to make it look like you weren't just having a breakdown.
As soon as you open the door you're met with Gojo, his arm freezes in mid-air as he was about to knock.
"There you are." He smiles, you force one back and quickly advert your eyes, faking a yawn. "Everyone's heading to bed, you tired?"
You nod, even though you aren't. "Are you?" You ask and clear your throat after it came out raspy.
"Not really. We don't have to keep watch either, Nanami turned on the fence and made sure all the doors were locked." He says.
"That's good." You nod.
"Let's stay up a bit," He smiles and wraps his arm around you to help. He definitely notices your eyes being red, he's seen you tired and this was not it. "I'm so glad we found my friends—"
"Gojo, I'm sorry, but I really am tired." You interrupt him, now feeling even worse than you did.
He stops you both in the hallway and forces you to take a seat next to him, "No you're not. What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I'm tired like I said." You sigh.
"Liar." He sits next to you, fiddling with his fingers, "I could tell something was up when you left."
You try again once more, "I had to use the bathroom, nothing else."
"Bullshit," He starts, "This is my question. What's wrong?" His eyes now meet yours and you avoid his blue eyes.
You clench your jaw. You felt pathetic having to tell him that you were crying because of the future, you had only known him for a few days, but your trust in him had grown exponentially due to the circumstances, and that scares you as well.
"I didn't feel good."
"About what?" He pushes.
"The future. It's scary and sometimes it overwhelms me." You shrug, resting your head on your good leg.
He stays silent for a moment, nodding to your statement. "You can talk about it to me. No more of this 'I barely know you' bullshit, we're all surviving together."
You flinch a little at his harsh words, "I was just upset, that's all. When I'm upset I cry, it feels better to let it out." Your eyes are now staring into his, "And it terrifies me that I don't know what the future will be like. Will we have enough food? Will the government save us? It's endless."
"We'll get through it. Day by day." He reassures. "You don't think I'm terrified too? I worry about keeping my students safe, my friends, and now you. The government probably doesn't even exist anymore, we're fending for ourselves, which is terrifying, but the more people you have, the easier it is."
You feel your tears begin again and look away, this time you're able to blink them away, Gojo was making it harder because he rubbed your back reassuringly.
"I already failed in keeping you safe." He sighs, "It was so stupid of me to not think about jumping it before the zombies came." His brows furrowed.
"You weren't the one climbing, I was. I got myself hurt, don't feel like you need to take responsibility for that. You've already done so much for your students." You say.
He shakes his head, his white fluffy hair falling into his eyes. "I don't know what I'd do if any of them got hurt. Any of you." He admits.
"You put a lot of pressure on yourself." You say, "I think you should depend on us sometimes too." He smiles softly at your words and gently bumps his shoulder with yours.
"Do you feel better?" He asks, noticing your sleepy face.
"Yeah. Thank you, Gojo." Your head leans back against the wall, your eyelids feel heavier with every blink.
"Satoru."
"Hm?" You say, barely keeping your eyes open.
"Call me Satoru." You nod and rest your head on his shoulder, he doesn't mind, laying his own on top of yours.
It was silent for a few minutes, Gojo listens to your breathing soften and knows you've just fallen asleep. Now that he's alone in his thoughts he thinks about a lot that you said, he wonders how a cure could be found. He knows it'd be impossible to turn zombies back into humans, but what about preventing humans from turning?
It was late enough, he hadn't slept much in days, he was really feeling the effects of it. He gently moves your head off of him and is careful when picking you up bridal style. He quietly walks into the room and sees Nanami awake, a small flashlight in his hand as he reads a book.
He gives his friend a nod as he sees his futon is already set up, he gently puts you back down, making sure your injured leg is straight and not gonna ruin the stitches. Then he places a blanket over your body, he stares at you for a long as he can before his eyes give out on him and he passes out.
Your thigh is extremely sore, the small cuts have began to scab and your stitches are swelling, but that's to be expected. You finish wrapping and stand up, the place has running water and electricity, so you enjoyed a warm shower.
You walk down to get breakfast, wondering what the plans are for today, you see everybody already eating.
"Your food might be cold." Nanami says as he slides your plate and you thank him.
"Do you want it warm?" Satoru asks.
You're a little confused, "What?"
"Your food," He says, "do you want it to be warm?"
"Um, it's okay, it's my fault it's cold—" You begin, but he takes your plate and is off to the kitchen.
"Your leg feeling better?" Shoko asks, her fork is cutting up some of her food as she slowly eats it.
"I'm very sore today, so no venturing out for me." You chuckle, you tell her in a little more detail about the stitches and how it's healing, knowing she'd understand.
Satoru comes back with your food, now steaming. He sits back down and takes a bite of your sausage, "It's a fee."
You rolled your eyes, "Thank you." The first and second years were messing around in another room, so it was just the adults at the table. Satoru really knew how to push people's buttons, you've lost count at how many times Nanami has rolled his eyes at the white haired male.
"I'm trying to be serious here with you, Gojo, but I'm about to throw you out to the zombies." Nanami threatens, he takes his map back from the man child, erasing the drawings he was making.
"You know I'd win." He grins.
"Unfortunately. I'll take you out myself then." He glares and lays the map back out on the table, you move your plate to the side so there'd be more room.
"What's this?" You ask, putting your full attention on the blonde.
"A map, duh." Satoru says obviously. You can't tell if he's trying to annoy you as well or if he really meant his statement.
"I'll help Nanami and take you out too, smartass." You deadpan. "The markings." You face Nanami.
"These are all the radio towers we've tried." He softly smiles at your response to Satoru, but it quickly goes away, you're still able to catch it though.
"Oh shit. You've really gone far." Satoru brings himself back into the conversation.
"We'd like to try this one," Shoko places her finger on the map for a moment, "But it's very dangerous there."
"Gangs?" You question and she nods.
"We'd need all the help we could get, I would've liked to leave today, but.." Nanami stops, pointing to your leg.
"You wouldn't risk going without me? I don't want to hold any of you back." You say.
"Gojo says you're valuable when fighting. I'd feel more comfortable having another set of hands and eyes." Nanami explains, "How long would it take for those to heal." He means the stitches.
"Anywhere from 2-4 weeks if I'm careful and clean the wounds often." You estimate. "Could be longer because I'm running out of antiseptic."
"What's that?" Satoru frowns.
"Rubbing alcohol, idiot." Nanami mutters the last word, but Satoru's hearing picks up it.
"Or hydrogen peroxide and iodine." Shoko adds, "For this being military, there's no infirmary."
"Where the hell are we gonna find antiseptics." Satoru rubs his forehead.
"Luck, by visiting the pharmacy's nearby." You say.
"We can do that." Nanami decides, "Anything to get you to heal quicker."
You give him a small smile and thank the group, they are all getting ready to walk around and try and find some extra resources. You are obviously staying behind, you'd only bring the group down in the condition that you're in.
"I can stay with you." Satoru offers.
"No way. I'll be fine. Nothings gonna happen here." You assure, he's bringing up a chair for you to sit in so you wouldn't have to stand while keeping watch to open and close the gate after they leave.
"They don't need me." He smiles, "Plus I know how lonely you'll be without my presence."
"If anything, she's gonna be relieved." Shoko says as she leans against the doorframe and inhales from her cigarette. Satoru frowns at her, "Besides, I need a bodyguard."
"Nanami will be there." Satoru answers.
She shakes her head, "I need all the protection I can get."
Satoru knows what she's doing, "You've survived so far."
"She doesn't need protecting," She points at you with her cigarette, "she's badass. And she saved you." She reminds.
"I wasn't armed," He defends himself, "otherwise I would've protected her." His nose is high in the air, annoyed with the conversation.
"I'll be okay, Satoru. You guys shouldn't be too long anyway." You shrug, "Now go get ready."
He pouts, really wanting to stay there with you. As he leaves he glares at Shoko and she laughs. Nanami comes up after them and explains how to turn the fence on and off, even though you wouldn't need to, and how to open and close the gate.
It was simple, not complicated at all. Shoko handed you a medical book to read knowing you'd get bored. You open the gate and the group quickly slips through, as soon as Satoru goes you push the button to shut it again.
Satoru turns to face where you're at and waves, you chuckle and wave back, not sure if he can even see you. They slowly become smaller and smaller as they continue walking.
You were advised to not move in case anything happens and they needed to be let in quickly. You weren't planning on moving either way, you want to minimize the movement to not reopen the stitches.
Occasionally you'd read a page of the book and look up and scan the area to make sure the group wasn't back yet. It quickly became tedious, you sigh and push the book to the side. You look out to the semi-open land, it was a little out of the city, but there were still occasional buildings and complexes.
Your mind is constantly worrying about food, there is a storage unit attached to the military base you're all currently staying at, but foods gonna run out quickly even with rationing.
Gardening had been a small hobby of yours when you were little, you remember planting all kinds of vegetables with your mother. You smile softly at the thought, your father would snap pictures of two then he'd join in as well.
'Gardening doesn't sound too bad', you think to yourself, but you also think that you'd all have to be permanently stationed somewhere, it'd be difficult to move plants, you didn't know too much about that.
Out of the corner of your eye you spot white hair, it was of course Satoru. The group was back, you frown as you felt like not much time had gone by. The sun was starting to go down a little, you must've been daydreaming a lot longer.
You make sure no zombies or others were following them as you push the button to open the gate, you shut it once they've all slipped through and slowly make your way back down to the main area to greet them.
"Any luck?" You ask.
"We found antiseptics." Itadori answers, wiping his nose from the cold.
"And some bandages and stuff, no luck on food though." Shoko smiles and takes off her coat.
"Let's go, I'll help you re-bandage." Satoru says, holding you again.
"First-years, you guys are in charge of dinner." Nanami says and sits down with Shoko and the second-years.
"Ramen." Nobara declares as she heads into the kitchen and the two boys follow after her.
"Anything happen out there?" You ask Satoru as he sets you down on the toilet seat.
"Nah. Not much trouble, what about here?" He says as he carefully unravels your wrapping.
You shake your head, "No, but I was thinking," You begin and he nods letting you know he's listening, "I've been worrying about the food and how quickly we're gonna go through it, if we can find some crops or seeds anywhere I can replant them."
"Not bad," He smiles widely, "I don't think we'll be staying here permanently though."
"I know. I'd also like to have a lab to work with Shoko in, you know maybe find out some more things about the zombies." You say, "A military base would be the best for us, it's secure."
"I agree," he sighs, "I'm not sure how long we'll stay here." His hands are careful as he dumps the liquid over your thigh. You're starting to get used to the burning.
"Has Nanami had any luck radioing?" You do some breathing to help get your mind off of the sting.
Satoru shakes his head, "I don't think we will, but it's worth a shot."
You watch him clean up the liquid, his hands are still freezing as ever, but he's starting to get the hang of bandaging.
"Let's get you all better, starting with no walking." Satoru picks you up carefully just how he did the night before.
"Woah—" Your eyes widen, "I can walk—"
"Nuh uh, we want you healed as quickly as possible." He says.
"You'll get tired of carrying me." You answer back.
"I'm strong." He winks at you and then looks ahead.
"What if I have to go to the bathroom." You deadpan.
"Looks like I'm going too." He smiles widely. "Kidding, I'll wait outside." He rolls his eyes.
The next few weeks go by excruciating slow, you felt terrible about getting injured, but it couldn't be helped now. Everyone was so helpful and kind during your healing process.
You had gotten closer to the second-years, all of them have been great. Maki was still a little unsure about you, but at least she was kinder now.
Satoru though, in just a few short weeks you had developed a small little crush. He had a way with words and was much more comfortable with you now. You know it'll go away, you've just been deprived of human interaction. That's what you keep telling yourself.
But in the meantime, it was fun to have one despite the circumstances. He was there for you for your whole recovery, anything you mentioned he got it done.
"You want to watch?" You ask confusingly to Satoru.
"Yeah!" He excitedly says. "I was forced to be your butler so I wanna see my work be payed off."
"You offered." You press your lips into a thin line and he just chuckles at your reaction. You slowly removed each stitch and Satoru watched intently. You could feel his breath on your leg from how close he was.
"We should keep this as a trophy!" He says as you plant them in his gloved hand.
"Why would I do that?" You frown, inspecting your work and seeing your wounds healed. You still put on some ointment to keep it from getting dry and itchy.
"Is this your first time having stitches?" He asks and you nod, "Well, I'd say that's a milestone."
"We're not keeping them. That's gross." You say and force him to toss them in the trash.
"Let's see that leg in action." He backs away and gasps dramatically as you stand, "Good as new! All thanks to me." He stands proudly.
You roll your eyes at the man and walk past him, it felt good to stand and walk on your own. You still have to be careful since the area is still a little tender. Everybody was sat near the kitchen, all eyes turned to you and smiles were plastered on every face as they realized.
"You're good as new!" Itadori gives you his famous smile.
"Glad to have you back, these losers need a bodyguard." Nobara says and both boys glare at her.
"We should start planning." Nanami says as you sit down, he notices Satoru walk into the room and frown when he sees his students already taking a seat next to you. Nanami eyes the spot next to him and Satoru grumbles.
"It'll take us about three weeks to get there and back." Shoko says, pulling out a small notebook and pencil to write things down.
You feel someone bang on the table twice, all of your attention goes to Inumaki as he signs, "What about the cars?"
Nanami sighs, "It'll bring too much attention. I don't want any trouble." He signs back.
Inumaki thinks for a moment, "I think it'll make us look scarier and less approachable."
"I agree." Panda signs.
"Maybe next time, we have to be strategic with our risks." Satoru joins in and Inumaki slumps in his seat, not wanting to walk for weeks.
"We have our rest stops, remember?" Maki says to help ease the pain of walking for long periods of time.
"And what if the tower doesn't work?" You say, Satoru interprets for Inumaki since you're still learning to sign.
"At least we'll know." Nanami eyes the map, "I know there's a huge military base near the coast. I used to drive by it sometimes."
"It's far from where we are and if we get there and find out it's taken, we'd have nowhere to go." Shoko adds.
"Alright, so when do we leave." You say.
"Tomorrow." Satoru declares.

Hello I hope you are well! I was wondering if I could request f!reader asking Azul, Idia, and Malleus to sing with them after hearing them at the masquerade event? (separate) And what their reactions would be to the request and reader confesses to them at the end of the song? I’ll leave the song choice to you! (bonus if they end up waltzing together! I just need some fluff and cute stuff in life rn and those are my favorite characters) Thank you! 🖤
Disclaimer: Song credit goes to Arijit Singh, Antara Mitra and their whole team. Translation credit goes to "Filmy Quotes."
A/N: Hey there! Hope you are doing well. Thank you so much for requesting! I had fun writing this one. Also, I chose just one song for the three of them. I used the English translation but I will add the original version here. The song is named 'Janam Janam.' Trust me you will love the song. So, make sure you listen to it! Enjoy and have a good day/night/afternoon! 💜💜💜
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HC: You ask them to sing (and dance) with you and then you confess. (F! Reader)
Feel It!
Music connects us, dosen't matter where we live in this planet. Feel the rhythm, the words. Soak it in and get lost. Close your eyes, hold each other hands and dance the night away.
Or, the headcanon where you ask them out the classic way.
In each and every birth, you walk with me. You have to promise, that you'll come and meet me here. We'll be as one life, even if our two bodies separate. Always be mine. Never say goodbye.
Azul: When you wanted to meet him, he didn't realize you were talking about this. But, he was overjoyed. He is glad that you aren't horrified by him and actually trying to spend time with him. That was enough for him to be on cloud nine. Azul closed the lounge early and told the tweels to give you guys some privacy. (You are pretty sure that ain't happening.)
He wanted you to sing and he wanted to hum along with you. He wanted to get lost, just for one day. He wanted to gaze in your eyes and admire them. Who knows, maybe he will never get the chance again... He asks for your hand with a blush. You were so close to him. His heart was beating faster. Azul closed his eyes. He wanted this to last forever...
You're my morning and you're my evening. You're my pain and you're my relaxation. my prayers only call for this request. Always be mine. Never say goodbye.
When the song ended, you leaned in closer.
"I... love you, Azul. Will you be mine?"
He pressed his lips on yours as happy tears cascaded down his cheeks.
In your arms are both my worlds. Wherever you are, my  heaven is there. The fire that is burning on both sides, may that never get extinguished. That's my wish. You're my desire. I'm your love. You're my poem. I'm your music.
Idia: Again, why did he agree to this? He already asked himself this exact same question at least a billionth time, yet the answer is always the same. He is in love with you. But, he isn't courageous enough to admit something like that.
He lets himself get lost. For once, he completely drops his guard around you. He felt at peace.
He wasn't used to having you so close to him. He never imagined even in his wildest dreams that he will get to dance with you one day. That... he can have you in his arms without the both of you freaking out for different reasons.
"I love you, Idia."
There was a long silence and then... well... he squealed loudly and yup the answer was quite clear.
The quest that is in me, is only for you.  Like an intoxication, you get mixed in me. When it comes to my love, you give it the respect it needs. Always be mine. Never say goodbye.
Malleus: He was happy that you asked him. There was something about you that fascinated him. You occupied his mind, his heart and his soul. But, a part of him was afraid. Will you think of him as a freak if he told you that? He kept you in the dark, like he always does.
You're my morning and you're my evening. You're my pain and you're my relaxation. my prayers only call for this request. Always be mine. Never say goodbye.
He felt something. A feeling so foreign to him. Your little warm hands holding his bigger cold ones, the way you were pressed up against him. The way you looked at him... It made him feel like he was over the moon, yet, at the same time it left a feeling of dread.
"Malleus, I love you..."
Malleus pulled you closer. His eyes became moist as he pressed his lips against yours.
Always be mine.
Never say goodbye...

Getaway definitely deserved to be killed by Rodimus' hands. For gaslighting everyone? For killing people? For torturing their friends? For creating a mutiny? For stealing his ship? For ruining his quest? For everything that he did.
And yet...I'm glad that Rodimus wasn't the one that killed him.
A part of me wanted to see Rodimus beat the spark out of Getaway, tear him to pieces, and personally hand retribution to him he so desperately deserved. But the other part of me recognizes that it wouldn't have matched the theming of the overall story if Rodimus did end up killing him.
It wasn't about getting revenge. I mean, sure, Rodimus' whole motivation during Lost Light was to find Getaway. And in all our hopes, to kill him righteously. Yet, that's not what ended up happening, and instead we have this anticlimatic ending with this unbridled forgiveness that Getaway didn't deserve.
Rodimus could've just allowed him to burn and be forgotten. He could've moved on with his quest like nothing happened.
Yet, Rodimus doesn't kill him. And rightfully so.
I think the message is about forgiving and letting go that hatred rather than letting it consume you. He was consumed ever since Getaway took his ship. He allowed his whole world to shift. He was obsessed with getting his revenge, only he realized that it wasn't worth it.
Getaway wasn't worth it in the end, and so, much like Rodiumus' new paint job was burned away, he too let his anger burn away.
He gave him another chance, even he didn't deserve it at all.
It added to the overall theme of letting go. Letting go of the past and allowing yourself to enjoy the present, and reach out towards a better future.
Rodimus will always try to be better, both for selfish and selfless reasons. And while Getaway did die, it shows us that Rodimus continues to try to be better at letting go of the past.

Hi! I love your metas and I had a question if you don't mind. I love Barcus but I'm a bit confused by the Ironhand gnomes and why they were so mad at the Gondians? Did I maybe miss something?
Omg, I'm so glad someone asked me this! Thank you, anon. I broached this exact subject with my friend a few days ago, and I'd already considered writing a post about it, so this was the kick I needed! Barcus is hands down my favourite NPC (perhaps of all time) and the gnome plight is easily my favourite side quest in the entire game, so I'm excited to share what I've learned!
Tumblr media
To preface, I'd like to mention that most gnomes, according to D&D lore, live in clans and keep to themselves. This is especially true for deep gnomes, as the Underdark is an exceedingly dangerous homeland. Their people are often enslaved by drow or duergar, or eaten by other nefarious creatures that lurk in the shadows. As such, they have become a profoundly somber and cynical race, relying only on each other for survival. They're also extremely wary of strangers, as Barcus perfectly demonstrates when we first meet him.
Tumblr media
Now, a history lesson. The Ironhand Gnomes, who at some point left the Underdark, worked in Baldur's Gate for generations, providing the city with the best mechanomagical inventions the populace had ever seen. Though they still kept to themselves and worked in isolation, they were well respected by the citizens, and flourished enough to inspire other gnomes to seek a new life in the city as well. This may not have been their goal, but whether they meant to or not, they brought gnomish innovation to the forefront of one of the most multicultural cities in all of Faerûn.
Tumblr media
More importantly, the Ironhand Gnomes worshipped a lesser deity called Gaerdal Ironhand, who Wulbren's ancestor, Wolverforce Bongle, allegedly conversed with. Massive however, in all of my research, I haven't been able to find any evidence that he was truly capable of such a feat, nor is he ever referred to as a "Chosen" by either himself or anyone from his clan. Therefore, it's possible this is nothing more than an unsubstantiated claim made by zealots. A book called Ironhand Gnomes: Our Grievances can be found in the gnome hideout in Act 3, verifying some of this information, but it's glaringly biased against the Gondians, with radically religious and violent undertones.
Tumblr media
But where did this hatred come from? Well, according to the book, the Ironhand Gnomes shared some of their expertise with other clans, and some of those clans took what they learned and opened their own workshops. The Gondians, who worship Gond, did particularly well, constructing their own factories and becoming quick competition. They even built a Gondian Church in the city, and attributed their success to Gond; god of craft, smithing, and inventiveness. For whatever reason, the Ironhands didn't appreciate this and accused the Gondians of stealing their methods and designs, as well as pointing out flaws in their "shoddy" craftsmanship.
Tumblr media
However, Gondian work was relatively flawless, as well as artifice-based, meaning it relied on science and raw materials. The Ironhands specialised in mechanomagical inventions, meaning they imbued their engines with arcane influence. This put the Gondians and Ironhands at odds with each other, as Gond espoused artifice supremacy, whereas Gaerdal Ironhand, according to Wolverforce, accused Gond of being a thief. So yes, we've reached the crux of the issue—religious turmoil. Both gods, I should mention, are good-aligned and easily misinterpreted, so of course that adds another layer of complications.
Tumblr media
In response to the Ironhand's accusations, the Gondians started slandering the Ironhand clan, losing them favour in the city. In other words, the feud quite literally became a he said/she said situation, with both clans acting like petty children. Whether or not the Ironhand Gnomes taught the Gondians a few tricks, they weren't owed credit for their inventions. That would be like my friend showing me how to use Adobe Animate, then demanding credit for all of my artwork thereafter ... and all while criticising it. And the Gondians, though attempting to protect their reputation, had no right to spread lies about the Ironhand clan, not all of whom participated in the drama. They could've let their work speak for itself.
Tumblr media
But this war of finger-pointing dragged on, with both sides losing and gaining support from confused Baldurians. Eventually, the Ironhands became desperate to get the upperhand, rousing Wolverforce to experiment with the thought-to-be mythical runepowder. This led to what became known as the "Unfortunate Runepowder Incident", wherein the overweening Wolverforce caused a massive explosion, killing himself and countless others in the blast. Wulbren blames this tragedy on the Gondians alone, and many Ironhands seem to feel it was the root of their exile, but there's more to it.
Tumblr media
In reality, the Ironhand Gnomes were banished from Baldur's Gate because they aligned themselves with Sarevok Anchev, the Bhaalspawn who tried to destroy the city in the first game. For some reason, Wulbren completely glosses over this detail, likely because he can't bring himself to admit the Ironhands are responsible for their own downfall. In fact, he brushes it off, as if it's some insignificant happenstance that deserves forgiveness without merit. After all, it happened over a century ago. Then, in Act 3, he says a painfully backwards line about how he thinks the Gondians would've joined Sarevok, if given the chance. But they did have a chance, and they didn't join him. The Ironhands did. As far as I'm concerned, this highlights Wulbren's extensive denial.
Which brings me around to Barcus and why he's such an endearing character. He doesn't care about ancient feuds or gnome supremacy. He made a name for himself, despite his clan's reputation. The Gondians never saw him as an enemy, and he in turn saw the value in their work. He prefers diplomacy and open dialogue, and he abhors violence to the highest degree. With a little hard work, he proved that the Ironhand Gnomes could've redeemed themselves without resorting to such extreme and radical measures; which is why I will always argue for him to take leadership. He's the best. He's everything. He is the shining future of unity and creation.

GOJO X READER: LOVERS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairings: gojo satoru x gn!reader
cw: does not follow the jjk plot - gender neutral reader - established relationship - fluff - characters are both college students - might be suggestive at the end
synopsis: moments and habits you share with your lover.
word count: 1.9k
Tumblr media
Gojo and you have a bit of a cat-and-dog dynamic. You like making fun of one another, sharing inside jokes, and even being childish together. You two are very strong-willed and have very intense personalities. You got to know him through a few mutual friends during high school. You didn't seem to enjoy each other's company at the time, or so you thought. Your conversations were solely based on teasing and challenging yourselves with dumb, imaginary quests. You didn't realized how much you liked being teased by this tall, beautiful, silver-haired man until graduation came to burst your bubble. When you did graduate and entered your university campus, you couldn't believe who was behind you, requiring you to hurry up while picking up your dorm keys. You both lost it as your eyes crossed his, lamenting to the universe why on earth you had to run into him again when you were just starting to stop thinking about him. As time passed, after bumping into him several times, you eventually grew closer over shared classes, study sessions, lunches, parties, and common interests. Laughter replaced bad jokes, silly pats on the back were exchanged for cuddles, and these glares were replaced by a tender and soft gaze. Since then, you two developed a close and sincere bond where communication and affection went hand in hand.
Movie night
You decided to meet up later after class to watch a movie to get the weekend off to a good start. After washing up, you packed a bag with extra clothes and headed to Gojo's dorm. You texted him, "I'm on my way, salt or sweet popcorn?"
He replied, "mmmh… sweet like you!" you chuckled. Man could graduate with a bachelor's degree in pick-up lines if he wanted to.
You arrive in front of his dorm at around 8pm and knock on his door. He opens and stands in front of it, greeting you with a large smile, his arm leading you inside.
“Welcome my dear, if you'd like to make yourself at home".
You scoffed. "What a gentleman!"
You place your bag in a corner as Gojo wraps his arms around your waist and rests his head in the crook of your neck.
He kisses your cheek — “I missed you, how was your day?"
"It was actually fun, we did some prototyping during my web design class. I'm glad the day's over though." You turn around and wrap your arms around him. You lay a gentle kiss on his nose and pat his torso.
"Are you hungry?" you ask
"I've already ordered some takeout, your favorite. I wanted to surprise you.“ He's such a caring man.
"Argh, i love you so much for that you know?"
"I know you can't get enough of me!" he laughs.
His phone rings "Oh, it's our food, make yourself comfortable, get changed, you know the drill.” he says, putting on his slippers in a hurry.
You take this opportunity to change into your pajamas and make some space on the little table in front of his bed. You hear the doorbell ring and see a proud Gojo handing you your meal. You settle down on the floor after he puts the food on the table. You began to eat in a cozy environment and decide together which film you'd like to see.
"Are you down for a comedy, an animated movie, sci-fi?" Gojo asks you while he turns on the TV.
"You know how indecisive i am, Gojo, it can take me an hour to choose. But i'd say i'm leaning more for an animated movie."
He searches the animation category and comes across a few results.
You decide to get up and clean the table while heating the popcorn in the microwave.
Gojo was sitting down, focused with his messy hair covering the tiny frown on his face while his arm was resting on his raised knee.
He turns his head in your direction "Is Big Hero 6 good for you?"
You nod and grab the hot and caramelized treat
"I love this movie, great idea!" you sit back down all excited on the cushions and move closer to him.
He started the movie while you hand him the bowl. The film goes well, you laugh, cry and enjoy the moment. In the meantime, Gojo has been able to cup you in his arms while you lie half stretched out between his legs. He takes the opportunity to stroke your hair, which relaxes you even more. Before he knew it, you were already asleep. He began to hear your tiny snores and couldn't help but giggle, "My dummy..."
He turns off the TV, pushes aside anything he might trip over, and gently wakes you up.
He hates to disturb your sleep, but he can't let you lay uncomfortably on the floor. Gojo undoes the bed to buy a little time, then tries to wake you.
“y/n, wake up so i can get us on the bed".
You were deep in your sleep, almost half-unconscious. The only answer you could give him was a compilation of half chewed words and grunts. You eventually got up thanks to him supporting you. He carried you carefully onto the bed and covered you before settling down. You unconsciously pulled him towards you so that his head rests on your chest. He blushes and hugs you tenderly as he falls asleep.
When he’s not feeling well
Everything was going smoothely. You had just finished your last class of the day and was heading out to the library to study with Gojo and some of your friends. You were soon joined by them, but couldn't see your boyfriend.
One of them asks, "Is Gojo coming?"
You replied, picking up your phone, "I'll text him, let's go in anyways." All you had to do was wait and sit inside with the others after the message was sent.
You concluded, "I'm sure his teacher held up his class for a few more minutes."
——
There was still no sign of Gojo after twenty minutes. You apologized to the group and decided to quickly leave the library to call him. It wasn't typical of him to not at least text you. You tried to call him, still no response. You sensed something was off, and you knew in your heart that you needed to make sure he was okay. You returned to the library, gathered your things, and apologized once again to the group, telling them you had an emergency. You speed walk towards the building where Gojo had his last class. When you got there, you saw one of his classmates standing outside and you asked her if she had seen him.
"He unfortunately missed today's class". she says You thanked her as you were already walking away. You knew his two “get away” spots when he felt the need to take a break were his dorm or the small park close to the local coffee shop he liked.
You chose to head to the coffee shop first since it wasn't that far. You slid between the students, holding the totebag that was menacing to fall of your shoulders. You arrived in front of the park and looked the surroundings carefully. No signs of his presence. His room was the only location that remained. Before leaving, you bought him his favorite strawberry frappé.
You reach his dorm after what felt like a marathon. You catch a break and knock on his door.
He was indeed inside, lying numb on his bed, his phone on the table. He heard you and is aware that you are standing outside. After a while, he opens his door in pajamas, his eyes swollen and red. You could tell that he really wasn't feeling well.
"Hey!" You softly cupped his face "Tell me what's wrong."
"I feel like I'm messing up everything. I've failed an important test, i've got into an argument with my best friend, and i feel like a total failure." he whines
"Take this," you say as you hand him the strawberry frappé, "a little sugar boost will do you some good." He took a few sips, and kisses your forehead.
"Secondly," you take him to bed and lay him down with you.
"Despite the weight of your worries, you must solve them one by one. You've failed your test, it sucks and you feel like you did all of that for nothing. It will take a little time for you to cool off, but you can always make up for it by asking your teacher extra graded work or to retake the test."
He looks at the ceiling, sighs loudly, and grips your hands tightly.
You proceed — "Now for Geto's case, you know that you'll be able to make it up to him, you just have to talk to him frankly. Honesty comes first, especially with him."
He gives you a weak laugh, "Especially with him yes, you're right."
You both lay there hands interwined until you turn around to face his side profile.
"It's normal not to feel good, you're human. It's okay to fail, to be sad, angry and even disappointed. Never say you're not enough again because you're worth it. Come talk to me or someone you trust if you ever feel like you are carrying too much weight. You must let it all out."
He gave you a hug as he suddenly lifted you onto his chest.
"That feels good, thank you so much, can you please stay with me?"
After care
Gojo had made the decision to invite you to his hometown so that you two could spend some romantic time together as the last three days of spring break approached. Even though you could occasionally cross paths at university, it was essential that you two stay together for a longer period. You had planned a lovely evening with a dinner date and a late night walk. You spent the rest of your evening at Gojo's house, and it's safe to say that you two needed to reconnect.
A warm atmosphere started to surround you both as the gentle touches on your thigh or on his broad shoulders grew more and more insistent. Finally, a languid kiss confirmed how you both felt. So you spent a delightful late night sharing that moment of intimacy you'd missed so much. Sweet and tender words exchanged in whispers and even delicate praises. The night's soft light cast a comforting glow over you as the moment came to an end. While silently panting, you embrace one another. Gojo loved looking after you after such a significant moment. He loved touching your belly, your waist or your face, and you enjoyed snuggling up to him, playing with his hair or lying on his chest.
Following that, Gojo felt it was essential to help you clean yourself, hence why he grabbed the first shirt he saw to give it to you, guided you into the bathroom while the water began to run. He took great care of you, assisting you in washing your hair by giving it a massage. He was aware that despite how frequently you shared such intimate moments, you preferred for him to turn around while you washed your entire body. He then cleaned himself after that and was the first to exit the shower. You blushed at the sight of your partner with that towel wrapped around his waist.
Once you were clean and dry, you changed into some comfortable clothes and went back to bed to finish the rest of the night by either sleeping in the classic big and small spoon formation or talking.

January 2024 Reading Wrap
First wrap up of the new year! I read 8 books this month, and I'd say it was a strong reading month overall. I read some new releases, caught up or finished series, and read some good stuff! I read 6 fantasy books, 1 nonfiction, and 1 regular fiction. 6 books I read physical copies, and 2 audiobooks.
1.A Winter's Promise (Mirror Visitor Quartet 1) by Christelle Dabos. 3/5 stars. This is a book I've been wanting to read since before it was translated into English. This book didn't quite live up to the expectations I had of it, but I still overall enjoyed it. I plan to continue the series, possibly quarterly. Young adult fantasy.
2. A Fragile Enchantment by Allison Saft. 4.5/5 stars. Another great Allison Saft book, and this one is possibly my favorite so far. This is exactly my type of fantasy romance and I was very invested in reading this. It's about a young magical seamstress who is commissioned to make the royal wedding clothes for the kingdom's prince. Young adult fantasy.
3.Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard. 3/5 stars. This was a fun read, but not the most exciting or great as it had the potential to be. The story has a fun cast of characters, and enjoyable world, but not a whole lot happened in this book. I can def see Aveyard's LOTR inspirations in this. I plan on continuing this series soon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
4.The Atlas Complex by Olivie Blake. 2/5 stars. This was a disappointing end to a series and was very lackluster and fell apart at the end. Disappointing because of how much I loved book 2. There were some redeeming moments, but much of this book felt unnecessary or frustrating. Adult fantasy.
5.Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. 5/5 stars. This is a collection of essays by the author about the world around us, life, nature, and the way we interact with the world. Absolutely my new favorite thing and much of Kimmerer's teachings in the book resonate with me very deeply. Read on audio- which I highly recommend. Nature/essays.
6.Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands (Emily Wilde 2) by Heather Fawcett. 5/5 stars. This was just as good as book 1, and I loved the new adventure and learning more about fairies. Emily and Wendall are my favorite, and I can't wait to see how this series concludes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
7.Beartown (Beartown 1) by Fredrik Backman 4.5/5 stars. I read this book in less than 24 hours and it emotionally abused me throughout. I'm late to the game in regards to this book (no pun intended) but I'm glad I finally read it. Backman never disappoints, and I plan to continue the series soon. Fiction.
8. Mislaid in Parts Half-Known (Wayward Children 9) by Seanan McGuire. 4/5 stars. This felt like the continuation of Antsy's story from book 8, but with some of our main cast of characters on a new quest. Very enjoyable and another solid installment in the series. Is the last time we see the "main cast?". Read on audio. Fantasy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's it for January! I am currently reading my TBR Pick of the Month, The Throne of the Five Winds, but I am only still in the first half of the book, so I will have to finish it up for Feb. I also started a new nonfiction audiobook, but am still in the first half of that as well.
February TBR:
finish The Throne of the Five Winds by SC Emmett
Crescent City 3
Nonfiction Audiobook (finish)
Blade Breaker by Victoria Aveyard
The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden
What Feasts at Night by T Kingfisher
TBR Pick of the month
Us Against You by Fredrik Backman (?)

freedom. | quest for tyr [II]

young adult!atreus x reader
-> synopsis: The only times you had ever experienced adventure was through your books. It was hard to live an exciting life while trapped in Alfheim.
You know you're meant for something greater than wasting away underground.
[loosely based on the events of Gow: Ragnarok]
-> chapter warnings: all chapters may contain spoilers, cursing, anxiety, subtle verbal sexual harassment, vomit, fighting, fight scene not accurate to canon, blood, injuries, trauma mention
"That was absolutely too much to get into a city." You groaned, slumping back slightly on the boat.
"It is a necessary precaution." Kratos replied, "Being under Odin's rule comes with many dangers."
As if to top off his statement, a loud siren began to wail through the air. The few dwarves seen on the streets scrambled into hiding as the boat passed. You frowned, wondering how you'd possibly find anything if the dwarves were unwilling to help.
Atreus was the first off the boat as it docked, immediately heading to one of the small buildings and knocking on the door. "Hey! Could we talk to you for a sec—“
"We don't want any trouble. Please." The voice replied, trembling. Atreus walked back to you and Kratos.
"They'll be no help, to be sure." Mimir sighed. "Best we find the tavern Sindri mentioned on our own. And hope they let us in."
"They're so scared," You noted, feeling sad. "Surely this isn't the best way to live— cowering in fear at every unknown thing?"
Atreus nodded, speaking to you in a quieter voice. "Don't worry. When we stop Ragnarok, they'll have no reason to be afraid anymore. They'll be better!"
As he spoke, you felt his hand rest against your back, rubbing a few comforting circles around. You looked up at him, but he was busy surveying the area.
You continued on, Atreus leaving your side to knock on more doors with no luck. You turned the corner and see a familiar face.
"Sindri!" You call, bounding over to him.
"Hello!" He smiled, "I'd return your surprise, but I did know you'd be here. I've got something for you."
Kratos made his way to where you all stood. "What is it, dwarf?"
"You know, I'm glad I came back here one more time before Ragnarok. If these cobblestones could talk..." He looked around, furrowing his eyebrows. "Then they'd have mouths. Filthy, disgusting mouths." He turned to Atreus, "Do you mind if I fiddle with your bow?" Then to you, "And your spear?"
You and Atreus nodded, handing Sindri your weapons. He began to try and un-string the bow, struggling quite a bit.
"Taking advantage of certain materials'— ow!— structural sensitivity to Sonic vibrations has been something— ugh!— I've been meaning to try for quite some time now." He handed Atreus back his bow and grabbed your spear, untying the spear-head and replacing it with a different rope, this time with a teal bead tied into it.
"Uh, thanks for finally trying it, I guess?" Atreus watched as Sindri waved his hand over the bow string and the bead, making them glow a strange teal color.
Sindri handed you back your weapons. "Atreus, take aim at that gate over there, but before you loose, say 'Skjálfa'."
Atreus did as the dwarf said, and the gate was destroyed. Unfortunately, a few Wretches were let loose as well.
Sindri stood back, away from the monsters. "Y/N, if you say the same as you throw your spear, it will produce sonic vibrations on impact."
You nodded, aiming it at one of the larger Wretches that nobody was fighting yet. "Skjálfa!"
It killed the Wretch in one shot, sending vibrations out slightly that hit a few Wretches near it.
You were impressed.
You ran to pick up the spear, swiping the tip around to create a beam of light that fried the Wretches near you. Kratos and Atreus killed the rest.
"Okay," You tried to catch your breath, "Durlin. Sindri, do you have any idea where the tavern is?"
Sindri scoffed. "Do I look like I've ever been in a filthy tavern? But through that sewer you just uncovered seems like the best bet."
You agreed, looking at the rune bead on your spear. You wondered how many other beads you could put on there for a more powerful weapon.
"Atreus, Y/N. Come." Kratos had already climbed through the sewer, waiting on us.
You both followed, eventually coming across a building slightly larger than the rest. Music came from the inside, contrasting greatly against the silence from the rest of the town. You looked at Atreus and he responded with a shrug, following his father and walking into the tavern.
"You think that's him?" The boy asked, walking up to the dwarf playing music. "Hello?"
"Watch yourselves." He responded, unfazed and still playing, "Apparently there are intruders about."
"Uh, yeah, that would probably be us."
"Eh, well, if you're planning on killing me, at least let me finish this song. That alarm was the perfect key."
"We're just looking for someone," Atreus explained, "Durlin."
The dwarf quit playing. "Head out the back way there and you'll see the safety office just across the river. Just don't go making trouble for the rest of us. And while you travel, perhaps you could clean up the head's mess while you're at it."
"You mean Mimir?" You were caught off guard from the dwarf's sudden icy tone.
"Yes Mimir, pretty lady. Or, you could pay the price and spend a little while hanging here—"
"She will not." Atreus seemed to be by your side in a second. "We need to leave."
The dwarf looked Atreus up and down, a disgusted sneer on his face as he decides to back down. "If you're looking for anything better, you know where I am."
Atreus rolled his eyes, placing a hand on the small of your back and all but pushing you towards the door. His eyes held something you couldn't quite place. "She'll pass."
The four of you (you kept forgetting Mimir was even there. He'd been too quiet, knowing the dwarves weren't too fond of him.) boarded the boat out back and followed the directions that the pushy dwarf gave.
Atreus, beside you, began pawing at his cheek. "You know what? My face is itchy. I think my beard's coming in."
You gave him a look, lifting an eyebrow. Kratos did the same, deciding to tease his son. "Is it?"
"Yeah, on my jawline." He craned his neck towards the both of you, trying to show it. There was definitely nothing there. "See? It's growing."
There was a beat of silence. "Is it?"
You held back a laugh.
"That's not just dirt?" Mimir joked.
"It's not dirt." Atreus rolled his eyes, exasperated.
"Y'know what? I believe you, Atreus." You snickered, glancing at Mimir, who only grinned. "Next thing you know you're gonna be big and hairy."
"Yeah. Like a bear— wait. That already happened, didn't it, lad? Perhaps all your hair waits until it's in bear form to come out." Mimir joined. Atreus had vaguely told you about the bear incident— only what he remembered.
"Very funny. Y/N, I really got my hopes up with the support at the beginning."
Soon, the boat docked at a long pier in front of the building. Atreus stopped Kratos from opening the door, begging to let him do the talking. Kratos begrudgingly agreed.
Stepping inside, you had to squint to see. No windows were opened, nor candles lit. Dust visibly floated through the air and you tried to keep your breaths shallow to avoid choking on it. In the back was a dwarf at a desk, his feet kicked up on the top, reading a book.
"Uh, we're looking for Durlin?" Atreus asked, unsure.
"You got an appointment?" The dwarf asked.
Atreus looked at his father, who simply gestured for Atreus to talk, and then to you. You tried to give him a reassuring smile, but it came out as more of a worried grimace.
"Uh, no?" Atreus turned back to the dwarf and walked towards him. "Has anyone ever had an appointment here?"
The dwarf slammed the book down on the desk and looked between the three of us with a strange grin, chuckling.
"Here to collect on something, pal? Think parading around with a severed head on your hip is gonna scare me into approving Estrid's accretion proposal, eh?" Durlin said with a smile. Your face twisted into confusion.
"We are looking for a prisoner of Odin." Kratos corrected.
"He's being kept in a mine somewhere." Atreus explained, "Some of our friends said you could help."
"Where did you get—" Durlin paused as Kratos turned his back, his smile somehow growing even wider as he eyes the axe upon Kratos' back. "You chop her head off with that, too?"
Kratos turns back, all but getting in Durlin's face. "She was my wife."
You watched the interaction, already having figured out how protective Kratos was over his deceased wife. You worried that this wouldn't end well, and you'd be forced to leave without the information you all needed.
Anxiety getting the best of you, you turned away and began looking around Durlin's place. More specifically, the bookcases lining some the walls.
Most of them were boring— legal work, accounting, money laundering, things you'd typically find in a place like this. But a small stack at the end of one of the shelves caught your eye.
Romance novels.
You'd only read one in your lifetime. You supposed the small archive where Fritjof borrowed your books from focused mainly on combat-related information and history, seeing as that was all that he dropped off.
It was a short poem in a series of many, titled Fjölsvinnsmál, about a boy and a girl who the Norns had destined to be together. The story of Mengloth and Svipdagr touched you— made you yearn for a love like theirs once day. For a love like Kratos and Faye's.
Yet, being trapped in your room for so long, you'd resigned to your dreams and accepted that you wouldn't get your destined true love— unless it was Fritjof, and you truly did not want it to be Fritjof.
You'd like to think the Norns blessed you with that chance now that you were free, but the odds didn't seem high considering the two you were with right now were actively trying to stop the end of the world. At this rate, you'd probably die before getting your first kiss.
Your fingers graced the spines of the books, reading titles you'd never heard before— some in languages you'd never seen. It was tempting to grab them, but you were positive Durlin was keeping an eye on you.
"Now then. Get out of my office."
The dwarf's words brought you back to reality and you whipped your head towards the men, worried that you had caused the issue.
"What part about 'get out of my office' do you not understand?"
Atreus took a few cautious steps back, pocketing something Durlin's weird octopus had thrown at him before heading back outside with his father. As they passed, you quickly snatched one of the books from the shelf and walked out with them, stuffing it into your bag before anyone noticed.
You all headed outside and Atreus unrolled a scroll that Durlin had given him. "Hey... this isn't a fine—"
"You should put that away," You stood beside him, pulling out your spear, "There's a lot of Grim around."
------
"Okay, as I was saying."
As soon as you had finished eliminating the Grim that occupied the area outside of Durlin's building, Atreus was back to reading the scroll. You heard it was just a list of fines the dwarf had issued to you, so you didn't understand why it was so intriguing.
"I think Durlin wrote down directions."
Oh.
"He gave us a map?" You questioned, coming behind the boy and looking over his shoulder.
Atreus looked back at you with a smile and you were suddenly hyperaware of the close proximity between your faces. You moved away-- a little too quickly to be casual-- and instead focused on wiping your spear of dried Grim blood.
"Sort of..." Atreus continued, but not before giving you a look of concern. "It seems to lead to a mine beyond that mountain. Durlin helped us anyways..."
"Not everyone uses axes and arrows to fight." Mimir mused.
"Odin probably has a watchful eye over this realm." You concluded, "It would have been dangerous to help us out loud."
Kratos wasn't paying too much attention to the conversation, instead choosing to open a gate nearby to reveal a path to the mountain. Atreus went through first, then you, then Kratos. Along the path was a beaten up railroad-looking contraption-- something completely unsuitable for travel.
"This thing looks like it can take us up the mountain. Maybe we'll see a mine up there?"
"Nothing like a good ol' Dwarven train ride." Mimir laughed.
You, on the other hand, were not laughing. They could not be serious right now. The wood on the rails was rotten and the Svartalfheim steel was rusted-- and that was just the tracks. The train itself seemed even worse to you. You shuddered.
Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir boarded the train with ease, looking around the small train car. You still stood on the loading dock, eyes filled with worry. Your stomach seemed to lurch at even the thought of getting onto the train— who could say this was 100% safe? Or secured properly to the rails? You'd just gotten free, and death by falling train was not the way you wanted to end that.
Kratos's voice pulled your gaze from the rusted train tracks. "Come, we must go."
"R-right." You murmured. You took a deep breath and suppressed a shiver, taking a tentative step onto the metal floor before withdrawing. "Give me one second, this actually terrifies me." You admitted.
Atreus gave his father a look that you didn't notice before stepping off of the train and walking to you. He led you a little further from the two other men, lowering his voice to ask if you were okay.
"I mean, yeah, I-I guess." You shook out your hands, "I don't know why it's freaking me out so much. I just don't want anything bad to happen, it's obviously gone unused for so long."
Atreus pressed his lips into a slightly comforting smile, tentatively brushing his hand against your bicep before pressing it with a bit more confidence— a gesture of reassurance. "I think if Mimir hasn't said anything too cautious about it, it should be alright. But if anything goes wrong, I'll protect you."
You returned his smile, but the remaining anxiety prevented it from reaching your eyes. Despite Atreus's promises, it still scared you. "Promise?"
"Promise." Atreus held out his pinky and you tilted your head in confusion. "Wh- Have you never done this before? Here, give me your pinky— this is a pinky promise. It means that I promise you that I won't break our promise. It's like, an extra layer of dedication."
You laughed, looking at your locked pinkies. You'd never heard of a "pinky promise" before, but you liked it. The extra layer of dedication put your mind a bit more at ease as you convinced yourself to trust Atreus and his pinkies.
You took a deep breath and shook your head, steeling yourself for the rest of your journey. "Let's go."
———
For the first time in a little while, it was silent amongst the four of you.
You sat on the floor of the train, beside the stool Atreus was on, while Kratos and Mimir occupied the stool across from you. You slightly wished someone talked, though— to cover the nauseating squeak of the rails and crunch of the old wood train every time it made a move a little too risky for its old age.
"Heimdall. That's a name I don't miss hearing." Mimir mused, his gaze seemingly far off.
"Nobody said it until you did, just now—"
"Durlin!" The head interrupted Kratos, "He had it written all over his face. Or well, burned I should say. Right into his head."
"He burned that into Durlin's head?" Atreus asked.
You grimaced at the thought. It was quite your luck to have the conversation you wished for be even more nauseating than the train ride.
"Failed rebellions tend to warrant swift and enduring retribution."
"He's a captain of Odin?" Kratos questioned, turning his attention away from the outside the window.
"Aye, and the bearer of Gjallarhorn. A true believer, that one."
The train creaked to a stop, and the conversation stopped with it. Another train lied ahead, and Atreus seemed eager to get to it.
You, on the other hand, had your attention stolen. To your right, over the wooden guardrails, was Svartalfheim. Vast, beautiful Svartalfheim. The farthest you had ever seen was the across your room when you were on one side of it, and your imagination could only do so much when you'd read about such beautiful, sweeping landscapes that littered the Nine Realms.
You never thought you'd get to see mountains or rivers in real life. Yet there you were, traveling with three not-so strangers across an entirely different realm. Feeling a lump in your throat, you took in the view for another second and made yourself turn around towards the others.
You didn't have much time to cope with the fact that you were actually probably quite traumatized from being practically imprisoned for 19 years, seeing as though the moment you escaped you embarked on another adventure. Seeing Svartalfheim's view was a reminder of that, but you couldn't stay long. You would let it all hit you once the Realms were safe from Ragnarok— or whatever these three were doing.
"Y'know," Atreus chimed as you all began up the ramps to the second train, "Maybe finding Tyr is our best protection. Seemed like Odin really didn't want us to find him—"
"Wait," You interrupted, "Odin didn't want you to find him? You've already talked to Odin?"
You were apprehensive— all you'd ever heard about from the Elves was how powerful and ruthless Odin was in his rulings. Sure, you knew finding Tyr was probably against Odin, but hearing that Kratos and Atreus had already run into him seemed to put everything into perspective for you.
"Uh, yeah." Atreus shrugged, "Threatened us and everything. But what can you do?"
What can you do?
These people have to have a death wish.
"Once Tyr's free and can be god of war again, Odin won't even have time to worry about us." Atreus seemed to try and reassure you, seeing your less-than-pleased facial expression.
"If that is his war to fight, he may have it." Kratos agreed.
Kratos led the group up the mountain, eventually coming across a large clearing. You tilted your head, seeing a large lump lying in the water. The air smelled gross, like a decomposing fish or sewage. The closer you looked, the more you knew you were right. The smell was definitely decomposition, and the lump lying in the water was a dead Dreki.
"It's definitely dead." Atreus poked at the corpse, ignoring his father's warnings.
Suddenly, Kratos and Atreus yelled out at the same time as a second Dreki comes out from the water. You ready your spear, standing beside Kratos as he grabs his axe.
Almost immediately, the Dreki opens its tooth-filled mouth to shoot water at everyone. You all move out of the way, and Atreus begins firing his sonic arrows at the monster. He stays out of the way, choosing to wear it down from a distance to avoid its rapidly swinging tail.
Kratos runs for it head-on, his axe blade catching the Dreki's snout and ripping it slightly. Its scales are tough to break, acting like armor for the reptilian creature.
You choose to aim for the sides, in its blind spots. The Dreki's scales have to be moveable on its sides to allow it to move properly, and you stay a distance away until you spot the weak spots in it. Atreus takes a shot at the Dreki and it becomes stunned for a second, so you charge forward and dig your spear into its side.
The Dreki roars in pain and begins to thrash. You don't have time to listen to Atreus's warning before its tail makes contact with your body, flinging you across the clearing and into the boulders on the other side. Your breath is knocked out of you and it's difficult to open your eyes, but another roar tells you that the fight isn't over yet.
You reach for your spear, but it's nowhere to be found. Instead, you catch a glint of the metal pole still sticking out of the Dreki's side. The monster is still thrashing around, and you know there's no way you'd get it with your current state. Instead, you shake your head of the fog that threatens to turn your brain into mush at the moment and call out any spell you can think of.
"Skjálfa!"
Your spear, and the inside of the Dreki, glow a bright teal and within a second, the Dreki's stomach had burst open from the inside out. It lay in the water, dead, with blood permeating the pond. Your spear laid beside it, unharmed.
Kratos sheaths his axe and picks up your weapon, beginning to walk to you. Atreus beats him to it, kneeling on the grass next to you and putting a hand on your back.
You're throwing up.
Never in your life had you taken a hit like that— you'd never fought seriously before.
Your head swam and your vision had black around its edges, your head hurt. A sharp, piercing pain behind your eye. You knew your back was scraped from the rock, and undoubtedly bruised from the impact.
Atreus made you look into his eyes— focusing on something could help you regain clarity. And it did, his voice helped distract you from falling into the abyss of fainting, and you shakily lifted your hand to wipe your mouth.
At least there was no blood.
Bit by bit, you stood up. Your head and body still hurt incredibly bad, but you knew better than to let it affect you any more than it already had. You didn't want to be a burden to Kratos, Mimir, and Atreus after you swore you could keep up.
"I-" You paused to steel your shaky voice, "I'm okay. Just have never gotten hit like that. We can go."
"Are you sure?" Atreus asked, "It's starting to be evening, we can stop for the night now if you need to—“
"No—"
"Yes." Kratos interrupted, "We may rest for the night. But let us travel a bit further, in case there are more."
You could only nod, taking a few testy steps forward. Your legs felt like heavy led and you could barely raise them. Taking a breath, you followed. You'd get to rest soon.
After finding a safer spot to set up camp, Atreus wouldn't let you lift a finger to help, despite your protests that you were fine. Kratos and Mimir had set off to find something for dinner, leaving you and Atreus to set up the fire. Blankets and sleeping pads would just weigh everyone down, so you all chose to forego them during your travels.
For a typical traveler, the ground would do just fine. For you, on the other hand, nothing was acceptable except for a hospital bed.
When Atreus finished the campfire, he sat beside you. "How are you feeling?"
At first, you could only grunt. It took a lot of strength to make words come out of your mouth. "Like I just got bodied by Jörmungandr himself."
Atreus chuckled, "I'm sure. It doesn't get less painful as time goes on. It just gets easier to bare, and easier to get up and move on."
You only nodded, enjoying the warmth of the fire as night began to settle in. Kratos and Mimir should be back soon.
"Atreus." His hum of acknowledgement made you continue, "What is your goal with all of this? Finding Tyr and whatnot."
"Oh, well," Atreus took a moment, drawing in the dirt with a small stick he'd grabbed, "I'm not too sure. I know Ragnarok is coming, and I think I have something to do with stopping it. I've seen prophecies— ones that I'm in and ones where Tyr is fighting against Odin. I don't know what my fate is with the prophecy, but I know I can help with Tyr's. That's why I want to free him."
"You want to start a war?"
Atreus threw his head back and groaned, "You sound just like my dad! No, I don't want to start a war. But if that's what it comes to, then... I don't know."
Atreus turns to you, and despite the slight blurriness of your still-recovering vision, you see sincerity in his eyes, the warm fire reflecting against them.
"Y/N, I really don't know. I just have this feeling that this is the path I need to be on and what I need to do. Sindri and I— we've done so much research on all of this. Please, be the first person here to just trust me."
As much as his tirade didn't help you trust him, you believed that Atreus was doing something with pure intentions. For now, that was enough for you. You placed your hand on his own that sat on the ground. Atreus looked at it, then back at you, and smiled.
"Just don't get me killed," You joked.
"I wouldn't dream of it." Atreus shifted his hand to where his pinky linked with yours, and held it there. "I promised, remember?"

u/SADZookeeper:
AITA for failing to protect my brother?
It's been about a week since everything happened and I'm still trying to process this myself, so please bear with me. Sorry for the long background context.
I (~27M) and my little brother Ac (22M) grew up on an island with really famous and influential parents. I knew since I was a child that our parents wanted me to carry on the family legacy on the island, and I did everything I could to do that (it was the lot I was handed in life; I'm just making do with what I could). At the same time, though, I knew our parents sidelined Ac, so I tried my best to look out for him and make sure he was okay, because that's what brothers are supposed to do.
About three years ago, Ac disappeared overnight without a note. I tried looking for him everywhere, but my parents didn't really seem to care that Ac had gone missing, and I don't know why. I assumed he was dead and grieved for him, until he turned back up on the island over a year later. I reconciled with him and was glad that he was alive and well, and swore I wasn't going to lose him again.
A lot happened since this: I found out that my home island was built on a lie, that we were all in grave danger, and one of my best friends fled the island in response. I wasn't in an emotionally good place, but from this point onward, it might have be where I started to become TA.
Weeks after that, I received a letter from Ac that he was going on a dangerous quest that he might not come back from, along with all his savings. I panicked and tracked down his location to go after him (he left behind some notes on where he was going); I was afraid I'd lose him again and lose more people that I cared about.
I found Ac alive, thankfully, but when we sat down for a heart-to-heart, he told me about how he never felt wanted at home, which was why he left, and lost someone extremely close to him when he was away. I didn't know what to say about this: I felt like Ac could have trusted me with this earlier. I thought I tried my best to be a good brother when we were children, but clearly, that wasn't enough to keep him from leaving.
The location we were in only had a one-way entrance, but when we found the exit, it said it required a sacrifice, that only one of us could leave alive. I don't know or care who designed the place, but at that point, I didn't know what else I could do to make up for how much I failed Ac.
I volunteered to die for him to escape.
I wanted it to be me. It should have been me.
He decided otherwise.
He pushed me out of the way and fell into the death trap.
I don't know how to convey to you how badly I failed: Ac already had a rough enough childhood as he did; I couldn't be there for him when he needed it the most (both at home and after he left), and couldn't even ensure he could escape and live a somewhat happy life, even if meant me gone. I couldn't even do that much for him.
I don't know how I never noticed the extent of how badly Ac was treated at home, I don't know how everything led to this, and I don't know how I'm supposed to tell his friends that he's gone because I wasn't quick enough.
I'm back on the island where we were born and raised. I feel like TA. Am I?
TL;DR: My little brother had a rough childhood that I couldn't protect him from and ran off on a reckless, life-threatening quest, I panicked and went after him, we got stuck in a death trap, and he shouldn't have been the one to die there but I couldn't fall fast enough to make sure he's the one who survived–
This post is Part 2 of the "Chronica Siderum" series. Technically speaking, this post is slightly over the character limit for the actual AITA subreddit, but let's be honest, we don't really care here.

The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic
I didn't go into this expecting much, because you can almost never tell if an isekai is going to be good or not (and all the subjectivity that comes with the term 'good'.)
This looks like it's gonna be hella fun.
Tumblr media
Overall Score so far: 7.5/10
Tumblr media
The summoning to another world as "Heros" to defeat the "Demon King" is your standard isekai plot. It's not original, but it's a good basis for a story, if that's not all there is to the premise. I'm looking forward to how this will get it's own unique twist.
The initial vibes I was getting from it were a mix of
a bad reminiscence of the beginning of "Rise of the Shield Hero" where I was worried that healing magic would be considered a bad or weak ability, and our main character Usato would be looked down on. AND
The great impression of "Wow, I want the Student President Inumaki and Vice President Kazuki to become a poly ship with Usato." I'm just gonna head cannon that the whole way though, thank you very much, they have great vibes together!
I'm thankful the first didn't come to pass, and that the second is going to be the basis for fanfic I look for in the future lol. But also, I hope the Demon King is fun, and that the fox girl doesn't bring any Loli vibes into this.
The green-haired Rose, a healing magic user who is going to train our intrepid healing hero, is the only Voice Actor that popped out at me. Which makes sense, as going through the other voices, it's a lot of small time or up and coming VAs! They're all doing a fantastic job though.
But Rose.
Tumblr media
For a second I thought it was the Headmaster from Season 2 of Ancient Magus Bride, as she have a similar low and husky voice. But no, we have Tanaka, Atsuko - The voice of Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell, and where I recognized her from, Hanami from Jujutsu Kaisen!!! She has a very long record of supporting roles in so many anime, and I really like her voice, so I'm glad I get to listen to it here~
Episode 1 Spoilers Below!
Youve got your standard typical kid who is So Normal, and you have the Amazing and Loved By Everyone Student Body Council members, who everyone thinks are dating, and are just So Pretty and Smart and Good At All The Things.
I love how they are both interested in Usato for treating them like normal people, because as we find out, they are just typical high school students. And while they are not actually dating, just spend a lot of time together, I could absolutely peg these two as swingers looking for a third member, and that's all just delusions on my part hahahaha.
Inumaki-sempai, the Student President, is a secret Chu-Ni-Byo, or one of those edgelord kids doing the naruto run and unironically thinks they have special powers to move things with their eyes. It's a phase everyone goes through, even if they won't admit it. But she is SO HYPE to be in an isekai, and I'm right there with her. I would totally react the same way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And of course, to feed her Chunibyo tendancies, which are immediately spotted by Usato whose image of her is shattered (good, please see her as human), she's gained the power of Lightning Magic. All she needs now is an eye patch and some bandages on her hand, along with manical laughter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kazuki, her second in command, seems like a typical Popular Guy, but I love that when he's getting heated over their nonconsensual summoning (despite Inumaki getting hyped in the backgroun), Usato stepping in to calm him down and point out that there is no use getting worked up, is such a good base jumping point for where things will go from here. He's not a particularly interesting character yet, but he's a good guy who wants to protect those around him. It makes sense that he gets Light Magic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love that Kazuki has NO IDEA what an Isekai is, and is like - "Light magic... I can blind people I guess???" Has he never even played Dragon Quest? lmao
Usato of course, gets something different, and everyone flips out. He then stops being able to read the room and puts himself in his own situation by mentioning as such in front of Rose, despite the king and magic nun trying to dissuade her from finding out. He's a Super Duper Rare Healing Magic user, because of course he is. He's Protag-kun. But it's fun to see the "tag along" who DIDN'T HEAR THE HERO BELLS WHEN SUMMONED get such a unique skill.
Tumblr media
Bless this sweetheart. I hope they can become an awesome trio.
I can't wait to watch episode 2, and see if we get some actual twisted ways to use healing magic to fight.
My hopes for how Healing Magic can be used "incorrectly"
up someone's internal organs with a punch
be able to manipulate their blood or body water content to kill, OR
just toughen this kid up into a fighter who can heal all the damage he takes and turn him into a tank rather than just a support. ZOMBIE FIGHTING STYLE
Either way, I'm gonna enjoy this one!!
ep2 ep3 ep4 ep5 <- these will be links eventually

Rebels Rewatch: "A Fool's Hope"/"Family Reunion And Farewell"
*singing*
~I'm glad that you were here with me/Here at the end of all things.~
Live reaction version.
Yeah be prepared for a lot of Lord of the Rings quotes and song lyrics in this one, lol.
Hey, don't blame me, the writers were the ones who made it clear they were hopeless Tolkien nerds.
And yes I am packaging both (all three?) episodes together. This is how it was aired, this is how it was experienced, you're gonna get the full treatment.
This does mean though that I will be very stingy with the pictures. Apologies. Blame Tumblr, not me.
Anyway, we start off the finale by gathering all the disparate parties that we completed the Friendship Fetch Quests for. Rex, Kallus, Gregor, Wolffe, Hondo, Melch, and Ketsu are all Back For The Finale. Which is a trope that I absolutely love in all shapes and forms, and it's even more appropriate for this show given that Ezra's main character "superpower" is literally making friends.
The connections and bridges he built all come back to aide him, not for any selfish motives of their own or because "the enemy of my enemy", but simply because Ezra has asked them to come.
"It's for Ezra," is all Hera has to say, and Hondo is immediately, genuinely pledging, "For that boy, there is nothing I would not do."
It is... incredibly heartwarming.
And I told y'all Hondo was a romantic at heart, and genuinely misses the days when the Jedi were around. And also that in the Rebellion Era, the Jedi still represent the nobility and goodness of the past.
After the titlecard, which still has no fanfare, we get this scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Come, you all knew I was going to cap it. Sabine's concern is so soft, the hand she places on Ezra's shoulder and the way she asks if he's okay so gentle.
The visual similarity in this scene and two scenes prior to this are interesting. This scene is firstly visually reminiscent of the Kanan-Hera scene in the beginning of "Kindred" (inviting comparison to the main canon ship of the show), and also the Kanan-Ezra scene at the beginning of "Jedi Night" (which emphasizes again that Kanan and Sabine are the two Most Important People in Ezra's life).
Ezra sits in the exact same pose, in the exact same place, that we saw Kanan meditating at, suggesting that he is also hearing the echoes of things to come, having similar visions of the future. This is certainly supported by his dialogue, where he mentions, "Something's changed... Something's happening." and that he's had a vision of Palpatine sending Thrawn back to Lothal.
Honestly I'm surprised it took Palpatine so long, lol. Thrawn: Treason supposedly takes place over the course of... a week? And the events of "Rebel Assault" to "A World Between Worlds" can't have been more than three or four days.
(This is why I reject the official canon timeline for Rebels, Season Four's events are crammed into the space of a month or two AT BEST.)
But anyway, Palpatine is pretty pissed off about the whole Temple thing so yeah, he's sending Thrawn back to retrieve Ezra personally. This seems to be a big ol' sticking point for our favorite blue bastard because he is NOT HAPPY when he turns back up.
You can't blame him really. He'd barely left Lothal and his TIE Defender project got literally blown up, so he had to spend the budget meeting arguing for what was essentially a smoking crater, and the wager he made with Krennic et. all. ultimately went nowhere because he lost on a technicality, and then the Emperor starts questioning his loyalty because his old Ascendancy friends showed up during the shenanigans, and then Palpatine dismissed him to go clean up the mess on Lothal and fetch him back a teenager for Sith sorcery bullshit.
...He'd had a very bad week, is what I'm saying.
I got off topic there, where was I?
Oh yes, Ezra's risky gamble. Fun fact, that was the original title of the episode, "Ezra's Gamble". I assume they axed it because it would give too much away. And like I've said before, if they could have avoided showing Ryder in footage taking the Dome for the finale previews, they could have really sold his false betrayal.
Pryce does not look like she's having a good week either lol.
Ezra continues to be cryptic about things, yet another hint to us that he's gotten "insider information" from the Force, as it were, and has made plans according to multiple possible outcomes. This is just one of the reasons why he outmaneuvered Thrawn, the other major one being that there was no possible way for Thrawn to predict Ezra throwing space whales at him lol.
This interference by the Force could have been a bit of a Deus Ex Machina but I think it's pretty clear that the Force only shared what might happen and left Ezra to figure out a solution on his own.
And his solution was space whales. XD
That comes later though, after this very risky gambit with letting Ryder broadcast their location to Pryce. A lot of things could have gone wrong. Hera might not have made it back in time. Ryder could have decided to genuinely betray them. Rukh could have gotten in a lucky strike and incapacitated him.
We are apparently putting a LOT of trust in the Force today.
This action setpiece is a great one so I'll just cover a few of my favorite highlights:
Tumblr media
All the shots that track Sabine as she jetpacks around the battlefield.
Tumblr media
Ezra versus Rukh.
Tumblr media
Zeb going full feral with the minigun.
And of course on the other side of things Hondo trying to count the number of times he'd been collided with pulling off this exact maneuver they're using lol. The blockade seems to have thinned from "Rebel Assault", not as many capital ships?, so maybe I was right in that Thrawn called for reinforcements to repel the attack. Still gives Ezra the highest kill count by proxy at the end of things.
Oh and once again there's a moment where someone threatens Sabine in order to force Ezra to surrender. <3 Love that.
Pryce is awfully smug until the Ghost shows up, lol. (To heroic Main Theme fanfare into the Rebel Alliance theme of course.) Someone on the writing team understood the power of a good Eucatastophe. (Tolkien term, it means "the sudden happy turn to good".)
The clones also get a leitmotif fanfare as they debark the Ghost.
And we get a lovely Force Theme as Ezra gets his most badass shot.
Tumblr media
Hell yeah.
The wolves sequence is amazing. The dramatic chorus, the chaos, the wolves skirting the veeeeeeeeeeery boundary of what's allowed on a Y7 show lol.
You know some of the troopers got ate.
One last shoutout to Hera using the Ghost to straight up smack a gunship out of the air and now we've come to the end of the setpiece. It can be hard sometimes to fill a full episode with one action sequence but this episode pulls if off perfectly. It never feels stale or boring, there are multiple bits and moments that just work. (I've always loved the moment where Ezra lunges for Ruhk's energy staff and uses the momentum of Rukh lunging for the same to straight up yeet him off the platform.)
Ezra's completely nonphased at Hondo's slung arm shoulder hug now aww.
Moving right along into the next segment...
Tumblr media
This soft intro with Ezra talking to his parents' picture, telling them they are the inspiration behind his actions, how he wishes they could meet his new family, how he knows what he needs to do, but he's afraid. T_T Hgn he's precious and so mature and I love him so so much.
He knows what he might have to do, guys. He knows he might never actually see Lothal again and he's still prepared to make that sacrifice if he has to.
He's SUCH a good Jedi you guys I can't.
Kallus gets a token line here about his defection which is... okay. But again, really needed more from this arc for it to have a full impact.
"We come to it at last; the great battle of our time."
One casual wolf threat later, Pryce has agreed to transmit the victory codes and our heros fly off to the capitol to pull off their boldest venture yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will never ever get over this moment. Sabine so attuned to Ezra even without the Force that she can tell just by looking at him how distracted and sad and scared he is.
How Ezra so clearly wants to tell her but holds back, and substitutes instead a declaration of absolute faith and trust.
And how she sees right through that and knows Something Weird Be Up With The Boy, Yo.
But like so many other conversations between the two, things are left unfinished, the mission and circumstances taking precedence.
Love the two quipping back to Pryce tho. <3
Still a crapton of air pollution over the city. This would clear up dramatically in the climax, for a bit of a symbolic moment.
There are SO many callbacks to previous moments in the show in this sequence, I noted a couple of them in my original liveblog but I'm certain there's a few I missed.
The music cue is great too, as is the effective silence once they've taken the bridge. A little bit of musical breathing space before things get hairy again, courtesy of Rukh ambushing the others back at base and stealing a gunship.
You know? I'm not quite sure what the plan was for if they managed to destroy the Dome before Thrawn got back. Seems a little shortsighted to blow up all the fighters and equipment and your city shields. A single Star Destroyer is more than capable of leveling cities and there are several in orbit around Lothal.
This honestly lends even more credence to the idea that, Force visions aside, Ezra was largely making this up as he went and had NO idea what he was doing lol.
Indy Ploy versus Xanatos Gambit. Indy Ploy wins by virtue of there was no way the Xanatos Gambit could predict the level of crazy Ezra's ideas were.
Tumblr media
Amazing how empty the streets are when they've been emptied of Imperials.
Thrawn arrives, per schedule, and parks right over the Dome so that can't launch, lest they create catastrophic collateral damage. Important to note, for the people who want to nitpick No Endor Holocaust scenarios, the show specifically details that the city shields put out by the Dome deflected the Star Destroyer wreckage when the purrgil came, and that the Rebels directed the Dome to explode over the bay, not the city. The Cadet Academy is also a completely different building.
I mean, sure the debris from the Dome probably isn't great for the bay's ecosystem but honestly the water was probably already super polluted from the factories, they had to clean it up anyway.
Where was I? Right, Thrawn getting to be really awesomely creepy. The placid, "Are you quite finished?" gives me chills every time. Once again let me praise the expression work on this show because Ezra's soft Oh Crap look is amazing.
The dawning horror on Sabine's face too.
And then this music cue! The tension is drawn out just long enough for us to fully appreciate the horror.
Tumblr media
:((((((
They even give us a nice wide-shot to appreciate just how much damage just those few seconds of bombardment did.
I had a rant here originally about the dumbass headcanon that Thrawn targeted empty buildings in this sequence (that may or may not have originated from Timothy Zahn himself) but if you've been following me you already know how I feel about it. It's asinine and I won't entertain it. Moving on.
Backed into a corner, Ezra knows he has no choice but to give himself up to Thrawn. This track in the score, "Sabine Sees Ezra" perfectly captures the sorrow and drama. It starts with a strained version of Ezra's theme, that doesn't resolve, fading instead into mournful original strings. Hera's entreaties for him to stay are painful, we can't help but think of what must be in her head--she just lost Kanan, she's afraid to lose him too. But Ezra is a Jedi. He is the guardian of Lothal. So he must make the sacrifice no one else can. He can't choose to be selfish.
So while Hera and the others try to figure out a way around the problem of Thawn, Ezra goes to confront it head on, secretly signaling to Chopper, who has been entrusted with so much of this plan.
And Sabine sees him.
Tumblr media
It's a consistent theme throughout their relationship. She sees him. She notices him. She's attuned to when he's upset. She perceives him in a way that's unique from everyone else.
And he trusts her so implicitly that he silently asks for her help here, and after a moment of agony she does it, because she trusts him too.
These two just break my heart. :(
Sabine keeps looking back at the empty spot where he had been. T_T
There's a theme here about attachment and loss again, and it comes from Sabine. Like a Jedi, she's able to let go of her fear of loss and trust Ezra, whatever happens, and is able to encourage Hera to do the same. Her theme plays out here, strongly, before giving way to an excerpt of the Main Titles theme, uniting the Rebels in their heroism.
Ezra's theme playing again here, skittish and frightened. Once again the expression work is heartbreaking. Ezra looks like he's steeling himself, holding back his fear. He's resigned to his purpose, but that doesn't mean he's enjoying it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND NOW WE GET MY FAVORITE HANNIBAL LECTURE/SHUT UP HANNIBAL EXCHANGE! :D
The dialogue between Thrawn and Ezra here is so good.
"You could have chosen to let your people die. However... you chose to be a Jedi." Jedi cannot help what they are, the Jedi Code is like an itch he cannot help it *sobs in Kenobi feelings*.
Thrawn pontificating about how petty things like ethics get in the way of being efficient. He picks at Ezra from several different angles in this conversation, first by deriding the moral code of the Jedi, then by pointing out that their righteousness did not save the Jedi in the end, all that's left are frightened poorly trained children--a clear dig at Ezra himself. He laments what a shame it is that the Jedi didn't apply their powers in a way he deems would have been effective, implicitly suggesting that the Jedi should have used their power to dominate and conquer--Might Makes Right, after all, if you have the means to achieve a certain end you should use it.
Ezra tanks that calmly, pointing out that the Force isn't a weapon.
So Thrawn switches tactics, now lamenting that he must destroy Lothal (no you don't you asshole you can literally just disobey orders and defect, the total genocide of Lothal is entirely within your power to prevent) and oh, isn't it such a shame about Sabine.
And that hits Ezra's berserk trigger lol.
He snaps back at Thrawn. You're a tyrant, a bully, you didn't make or earn any of this, you just took it because you could, because you think your strength makes you right.
Thrawn essentially confirms that, "Yeah, having power does make me right." before leading him down to where the Temple doors have been set up for his meeting with the Emperor. Which kind of makes me think Thrawn wanted the opportunity to dress Ezra down and soften him up for Palpatine's manipulations because he could have just had the troopers shove him into the hanger first thing.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: The way Ezra keeps looking around in astonishment, wide-eyed, at the sight of the Temple doors.
Palpatine cloaks himself in white like an angel of light for this final temptation, wearing the guise of a friend or kindly old grandpa. It's every bit as unsettling as it seems.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile with the B-Squad, Mart reveals that--like Chopper--he has also been entrusted with a crucial part of Ezra's "Just in case" plan. (Theirs is an underrated friendship, fanficcers you have let me down, again, why do I have to write all the things I wanna see more of?)
That shot of the wolves running alongside and under the Ghost. *chef kiss*
I have no idea when Ezra found time to figure out a signal the purrgil would respond to but I very much want to see that scene.
Sabine: "He [Ezra] knows what he's doing." Lol are you sure about that, 'bine? I think he had no clue the whole purrgil thing would work.
Palpatine is so slimy here, ugh. Acting like he did Ezra a favor by desecrating the Jedi Temple. Ezra's all ready to fling back anything ol Sheev throws at him here until Palpatine takes aim right at the heart of his greatest weakness.
Because after all this time, Ezra has never quite fully gotten over and accepted the loss of his parents. He's still at heart a lost little boy who misses his mom and dad.
The score goes almost Stravinsky-esque here, suggesting the Faustian nature of the deal Sidious is offering.
Meanwhile down in the gullet of the Dome, the Rebels are working feverishly to regain control of the the shield generator. There's some great coordination here between the teams and the control, Sabine really shines as a leader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word of God behind the scenes confirms Ezra is seeing THE day his parents were taken, his seventh birthday, when he could hear his mom and dad calling for him but didn't come because he was goofing off.
Hey uh, can this boy's life stop being ENDLESSLY SAD please? That'd be nice.
Love how Gregor calls for "something drastic" and Zeb immediately thinks, "Right, yeeting myself at the enemy." lol.
Gotta respect a man whose strategy is to fling himself full force at the enemy.
And the obligatory Make TCW Fans Cry Moment with Gregor here.
Palpatine keeps digging. This is your heart's desire isn't it? Don't you deserve this? All you have to do is open this one little door. He tries to keep Ezra's attention and focus on himself, even when Ezra asks what will happen to his friends if he makes this choice.
You can undo their deaths, Palpatine promises, about Ezra's parents. You can save them. I can help. It's the exact temptation he offered Anakin all those years ago.
"I have the power to give you what you want. You won't have to face this loss."
Like a devil, what he offers is a two-edged sword. What he is offering can't actually exist. Because if Ezra goes to be with his parents on the day they were arrested, how will he be able to make it here to open the door for Palpatine? Will Palpatine have to trap him in a closed loop, retrieve him from wherever he will end up in the alternate timeline, to ensure he can't fix this one fatal mistake?
See Palpatine doesn't care about breaking the timeline, he will gladly do it and rule over the ruins. But if Ezra reaches for this vision, he dooms his friends. He allows Palpatine to gain power beyond his wildest imaginings, turn himself into lord and master of time itself, a physical god.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So Ezra must deny himself, accept the loss, and let go.
Tumblr media
And he does.
The Emperor's hologlamour flickering and failing as his rage ascends is really effectively creepy. Also HOW ABOUT THEM RETURN OF THE JEDI PARALLELS?
Years down the line, yet another pure-hearted Jedi boy will stand before the Emperor, throw his offer in his face, and tell him where to shove it. Even the dialogue mirrors Luke's.
"You're wrong. I have a family. I don't need anything from you."/"Never. I'll never turn to the Dark Side. You've failed, Your Highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me."
"Unfortunate. Destroy him!"/"So be it, Jedi. If you will not be turned, you will be destroyed!"
Poetry. Pure poetry. <3
Ezra gets a nice little face off against the Royal Guards, with some lovely whump in the form of whatever those pikes are doing to him, but manages to weasel himself out of the situation. And then somehow fights his way all the way up to the bridge. So proud of him.
The Rebels get the shield up just in time to prevent Thrawn's full scale bombardment, Rukh frying rather dramatically in the process. Lol and ouch with how irreverent Zeb is over the comm.
So now all that's left to do is break the stalemate and remove Thrawn from the chessboard.
Tumblr media
HELL YES.
Oh hoooo man this twist isn't even really a twist it just makes too much sense for Ezra, for his character, for the themes of the show, for how to take Thrawn out as a threat while respecting his acumen as a strategist. (Gotta throw something at him he would never suspect lol.)
The musical build-up is amazing. Dooming low bass notes, drolling percussion. The strings build up, crescendo-ing.
AND THEN THE "WRATH OF NATURE" CUE FROM "THE CALL" COMES IN WITH GLORIOUS FULL ORCHESTRA.
The Hyperspace theme comes in as well, and the purrgil proceed to utterly decimate Thrawn's fleet. By proxy this gives Ezra probably the highest kill count on the show, as the purrgil must have taken out the orbital construction stations, a good chunk of the Star Destroyers up there, and all three of the ones above the city. (Somehow Palleon survives to join the Council of Evil in Mando Season 3 lol.)
Sabine looks SO confused, ha ha.
Tumblr media
What a great shot.
Thrawn tries to get in a final, Taking You With me speech only for Ezra to be like, "Joke's on you that was the plan all along. You're not taking me with you, I'm taking you with me."
I do love Thrawn's increasingly panicky WTF expressions as things progress.
THIS ADORABLE #MARRIED BANTER BETWEEN EZRA AND SABINE AND THEN HOW THEIR THEMES ARE TONALLY INTERMINGLED IN THIS CUE.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: The way Ezra's left arm hangs limp after Thrawn shoots his shoulder and the pained grimace he gives when he turns around to seal the door behind them.
Tumblr media
He looks exhausted.
Pained grimace number two as Ezra raises his injured arm to wind up IN AN EXACT TABLEAU OF THE POSE KANAN HAD AT HIS OWN HEROIC SACRIFICE.
HELLO YES, ALSO ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOMENTS BETWEEN EZRA AND SABINE AS SHE BEGS HIM TO GET OFF THE CHIMAERA.
ALSO IT BEARS EMPHASIS BUT LOOK HOW THE GLASS SHARDS STILL WHEN EZRA RAISES HIS OTHER ARM.
EZRA IS LITERALLY HOLDING THE OXYGEN INSIDE THE BRIDGE WITH THE FORCE, WHILE HOLDING THRAWN AND THE DOOR IN PLACE, WITH AN INJURED ARM.
Ezra Bridger is the greatest shut up.
The purrgil charge up. Everything goes white. His theme bellows at full heroic volume and then...
Quiet.
Utter awed quiet.
Right, so you wanna know the other of the two times I cried at this show? Ezra's sacrifice right here. Waterworks.
"We set out to save the Shire, and it has been saved. But not for me. I have been too badly hurt. The last pages are for you, Sam."
Sabine is handed Ezra's lightsaber by Chopper, and takes up his mantle, finishing his mission and leading all the rest of them to safety as the launch the Dome and blow it. (Her journey to becoming co-protagonist is complete.)
Chopper gives us a final goodbye message from Ezra (that makes me sad again), and they soar over a triumphant freed populace.
Fade out and then...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*SOBS ABOUT THE BOOKENDS FOREVER*
Shot for shot. Shot. For. Shot. And I am UNDONE.
Lothal is free. The Empire never had a chance to retake it. Likely couldn't spare the manpower from the rest of the galaxy, first off, also replacing all those ships they had in orbit has gotta be expensive, and I suspect Palpatine just put glassing Lothal on hold until the Death Star was completed. And well... we know how that turned out lol.
The Fellowship broke, but they seem to all keep in touch, if Sabine's voiceover is any indication. Kanan's legacy lives on. Our crew found peace.
And last...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A sworn promise to find a precious friend and bring him back home.
The finale of Rebels is near perfection. With a very few quibbles here and there (the purrgil could have been just a smidgen more set up, Kallus's arc still needs to have some decent onscreen content for his redemption happy ending to be earned) it is the best Rebels has to offer.
The callbacks and bookends undo me. The music is full of wonderful dramatic cues. The animation is gorgeous. Everything comes to full completion and it is a very satisfying end.
Overall Season Thoughts:
Season Four is almost a bit nostalgic, returning to the tightly written narrative of the first season, but even more tightly tied together. None of the episodes feel wasted or superfluous. The major character death midway through is given plenty of narrative weight and time for the characters to adjust and grieve. Objectively it's probably the best season overall, none of the episodes are misses.
Even with the unanswered mysteries, the season feels solid, and a fitting conclusion to the overall Rebels saga.
---
And that was Star Wars: Rebels, the little show about a Found Family that could. It is my favorite new Star Wars content and what actually dragged me back into fandom after years away. It is heartwarming and exciting, poignant and hopeful and I'm so so glad I was taken on this journey.
Here's hoping the lost son of Lothal can make his way home soon.

Some Fear and Hunger headcanons and plot for a future fanfic I'm going to write :p
TW GORE, MENTIONS OF DEATH, SA AND VIOLENCE. (just in case something is mentioned)
ALSO SPOILERS FOR FEAR AND HUNGER 1
(you have been warned)
This is my first post ever in tumblr, i know the concept of mixing plot of a future fanfic and headcanons is weird, and the post got out of hand and got too long, anyway i hope you guys enjoy it :D
Ok so this is how I want everything to happen in my happy world of sunshine and lollipops. This is basically a to-be fanfic mixed with headcanons.
Everyones S endings come true and Rag, the Girl, Cahara and Celeste live happily with Moonless being the best girl ever.
+ The main party will consist in Cahara, Ragnvaldr, The Girl and Moonless.
+ At first Rag frees The Girl and, of course, Cahara ends up stealing from Rag and running away. (which makes our barbarian very mad and loses a little bit of what is left of faith in humanity)
+ Enki is an asshole and thinks he is just some dumb barbarian who probably doesn`t even know how to read (he does)
+ Ragnvaldr tames Moonles (best girl ever) and gives the doll and the dagger to our poor child to at least defend herself.
+ Even though the girl doesn`t speak, little by little begins trusting this red haired giant we all love and you could see the brightest smile when he gives her the doll :""")
+ Him teaching her how to properly handle the dagger and where to stab and cut a bigger enemy.
+ Rag having been a dad he will assure this girl gets the life she deserves outside of this damned dungeon, even if it means he won`t eat (or if he has to eat the c0rpses of his enemies behind her back in order to survive)
+ When Rag and Cahara see each other again, Rag is very weak and badly injured, but Cahara helps him come out of the battle and takes him to a safer space and cure his injuries (with the blue vials that he stole)
-¿Are those MY blue vials?-
*silence*
-Yeah-
*silence*
-¡Hurry up and drink it before you bleed out!-
+Rag is somewhat still mad at him but at least he is thankful he saved him. So lets him join :D
+With the time they learn more about each other and realice they are just trying to survive in a cruel world and an awful situation.
+ In the times they rest and open a rare bottle of ale or whiskey the conversation ends up in them telling each other their background and origins.
+ Even Cahara tears up a little bit when our favourite Oldegardian tells him about his late wife and child.
+Cahara just cracks a lot of jokes to kind of light up the ambience and sings and dances with the girl trying to cheer her up when something makes her upset or is very afraid.
+ Moonless is the best girl ever and protects the child a lot and sleeps next to her to warm her up.
+ And licks her face if she cries making her giggle :")
+At some point in the story we find D'arce and joins their quest in finding Le'Garde.
+Find the Cube of the Depths and kill the entire Cavedweller village on the way out
+ D'arce doesn't like Cahara's jokes and thinks he needs All-Merr (Jesus)
+When they find him, he is already dead.
+ Ragnvaldr is very glad that the man who slaughtered his entire village died tortured in this hell they call dungeon.
+ Cahara panicks a little, but doesnt show it in the moment (i will explain)
+ D'arce just goes on crying and mourning her capitain and ends up in a nasty argument with Ragnvaldr about the man.
+ The mercenary, knowing how Rag can go berserk and how this will end up very bad when D'arce pulls out her sword, he drags Rag out and they just run away with Moony and The Girl.
+ In a safe place to hide (probably the stairs leading up to level 3), its the first time Rag sees Cahara cry and panick (the boy probably has an anxiety attack) because now what? His mission failed.
+ How will the people believe Le'Garde was already dead? How will he pay for the freedom of his wife? Where will he get the money to feed his child-to-be? Will he even get out of this alive or in one piece?
+ Rag helps him calm down assuring him they will get something valuable out of this hell of a place.
+ They rethink what are they going to do. Rag is a bit lost too, because now that Le'Garde is dead, what now. He doesn't has a house to go back, or a wife like the mercenary, not even a town.
+Well, he makes a promise to wipe all of the darkness out of this place, or at least as much as he can.
+Cahara wants to find something valuable so he doesn't go back home empty handed.
+ They get lost a few times in the dungeon, because let's be real, being in complete darkness in those laberynthic corridors must be very frustrating and confusing. Even more if they all look similar.
+ They kill Isayah. Funny story, Cahara tries to steal the maps but end up in a fight with him. (Oh shit, here we go again.)
+On their way following the map they wipe all the bosses out, some of them even without the help of Cahara, because Ragnvaldr just goes berserk with hatred.
+ Arrival to the City of The Gods, Mahavre!
+ Pause at the Tower of The Endless, where Cahara dreams of the days before he left to the Dungeon. At the end of the dream Nilvan visits him and tells him to carry her child (The girl) to the God of the Depths in exchange of her endless soul.
+The mercenary agrees, taking her soul and waking up with the stone in one of his hands. But lies.
+He won't allow the Gods their way with this poor girl who only has met darkness. She deserves something better than being sacrificed or worse things.
+Ragnvaldr dreams of the fatidic day he found his village reduced to ashes and had to bury his wife and son and wakes up crying :""(
+ Moonless tries to give him some comfort and the girl lends him her doll in an attempt to make him feel better and gives him a big big hug.
+ After fighting the fellowship, Cahara is tempted to sit on the golden throne, but snaps out of reality when Rag calls him out.
+ Both of them start filling their bags with everything that shines and even break a wall of the palace taking golden bricks and ornaments. It's pure gold, it can be sold and melted.
+ They find the crown of the treasure maps and having nothing else to kill in the dungeon, they rush out of that place as fast as they can.
I will make a part 2, don't worry, it has gotten very long.

Underneath the Hollow, illuminated by the dim glow of the candles scattered around the caverns that the druids of the Emerald Grove inhabited, Robin stood between Halsin's legs. Carefully he brushed his hair back, took the pointed tip of his ear between his clawed fingers and - with a circling of his thumb - slowly worked the ointment into his skin.
A deep hum of relief rumbled in Halsin's chest and his hands closed around the back of the tiefling's thighs, pulling him closer to his hulking body.
Robin clicked his tongue in mock disapproval, if only to hide the moan rising in his throat. "At least let me tend to your wounds first. The battle at Moonrise did a number on you."
"Really? How badly injured are my ears, then?", Halsin asked, a hint of amusement tinting his words, before tilting his head back and meeting Robin's hungry gaze.
The tiefling smiled. Returning to the Grove before heading to Baldur's Gate proved to have been an excellent idea. The last tendrils of the tension the Archdruid had carried with him on their quest to rescue Thaniel had long since left his body. Halsin's skin creased around the corners of his lips and eyes when he laughed and the creasing didn't cease even when his expression smoothened, he noticed. "Don't tell me you don't like it."
Halsin gently shook his head. "There's a great many things you've done that I enjoy way too much. This…", he said, leaning slightly into the palm of his caressing hand with another low noise of approval under his breath, "is but one of them."
For a while, Robin remained silent. Trailing his fingertips along the side of Halsin's face, he followed the shape of the deep scars digging into his forehead. "I'm glad we could lift the shadow curse."
"To think that it has finally been broken. A century of blight and shadows ravaging the land banished, just so. Truly, the Oakfather brought us together for a reason." A flash of tender affection danced behind Halsin's eyes as he leaned towards him. His voice dropped to an intimate whisper. "If not for you I would still carry that burden with me. Alone."
He grabbed a fistful of his hair and tugged on it, forcing him to tilt his head back and look up at him. Taking control of him as he leaned down to kiss him. He slid his tongue into his mouth, lingering on the sensations of their lips brushing against each other and Halsin's moans washing over him. When they parted, their heavy breathing intermingled.
The hungry kiss that followed came swift, but not as a surprise. Every inch of Robin's skin had yearned to feel his lips against him again ever since they'd departed from the towers. His hands found their way below Halsin's cuirass and pants, tugging loose laces and undoing clasps with haste as the scrape of his fangs trailed down his neck.
Halsin grabbed him by the hips, pulling him ever so close, pressing his massive body against him with a fiery need that cried out to be quenched.
… And Robin pushed him off him with a teasing smile instead.
"I've been wanting to taste you ever since we first lay together underneath the stars", Robin admitted as his free hand trailed down Halsin's body. His fingertips brushed across his chest and pebbled nipples, followed the bulging curve of his muscles expanding below the soft pouch of his stomach. "And I wanted you underneath me ever since you claimed me as yours. When was the last time you've let someone take you, Halsin?"
His hand wrapped around his dick, squeezing tight when Halsin tried to speak. He felt the slick of precum spilling onto his skin and smiled as his response turned into another low, rumbly moan.
"Then let me make you mine tonight." Moving to kneel before him he stroked it lightly, more teasing brushes and squeezes, until the muscles in Halsin's thighs were tense with the effort it took not to grab him and shove him onto it. Robin watched as he greedily thrusted into his hand once or twice, digging his fingers into the moss until his knuckles turned white.
"I admit… ", Halsin breathed out, "it's been a while." His cock twitched in Robin's grasp, hot and hard, begging for his attention.
And this time he obliged.
He knew he was aching for more, saw it in the sparks of golden amber that lit up Halsin's eyes like a wildfire, felt it in the slick that seeped in between his fingers. And when he finally lowered his head to lick the precum off the swollen tip of his cock, Halsin's hips jerked forward, forcing almost all of it between his lips.
Robin let him in, sucking him into his mouth with a hoarse moan that turned into a gagging cough when he hit the back of his straining throat. He braced himself against Halsin's thighs and swallowed it deeper, pushing him back and holding him steady by resting his hand against his stomach.
As Robin's tongue explored every part of him, Halsin very nearly did so. He laced his fingers through his hair, grabbing a hold of the back of his head - careful not to injure himself on his horns - feeling the thick cinnamon curls glide through his hands. And despite his beast's need to take over and claim the tiefling, mark him as his, he merely held onto him, eyes squeezed tight and mouth hanging open, lost in the warmth of him and the strength of his dominating strokes keeping control of Halsin's every senses.
He held himself there until his throat relaxed and his vision blurred - pulling back only to catch his breath - and then licked and sucked the shaft again, savoring his salty taste with a quiet hum.
Halsin's legs were trembling now, and the noises he made became louder as Robin wrapped a hand around the base of his dick, working the inches he couldn't possibly fit inside of him in long, steady strokes while his head rocked up and down the length of him.
For a while Halsin's growls and groans were all that reached his ears. They were like rainfall after a drought, spurning him on to please him more, make him come undone beneath his touch.
Halsin's eyes fluttered back open and he watched as Robin let his cock slide out of his mouth, stringy ropes of precum and spit connecting his plump lips to its deep purple head. He raised to his feet and took off his pants and damp underpants, climbing onto his lap without hesitation.
His cock throbbed to the drumming beat of his heart, heavy and steady, caught in a slow build of heat and wet pressure sealed tightly around his shaft. Small but surprisingly strong hands dug their claws into his skin and kept him pinned down while soft swollen lips caressed the glistening slick length of him. With every sigh of Robin's, he slid deeper down his throat, until his breath came in short rugged moans that echoed across the caverns and his balls felt tight with the need for release.
But…it never came.
"You taste even better than I thought you would", he whispered as he dipped his hand between his legs and touched himself, mere inches away from Halsin's dick. Sometimes his knuckles brushed against him and another desperate noise escaped him. Desperate to bury himself inside of him, desperate to touch him in his stead, to stroke off his hard clit. Desperate to grab him by the hips and spill his seed into him.
Halsin was as massive as he remembered him being, too big for him to take all at once. Grinding his hips against him he took him with gritted teeth, inch by inch, until his fat cock pushed past the tight ring of muscles, finally forcing its way inside of him. All he could do was hold still as his body strained against it, and wait for the pain to make way for pleasure. Rocking against him slowly in an effort to aid the progress.
"Earthen like the soil… and sweet like honey", Robin murmured against his mouth, bringing his fingers to Halsin's lips and pushing them inside. Making him lick and suck the sticky wetness off them before kissing him passionately.
And then their shaky breathing turned into gasps as he grabbed his dick and guided him inside his cunt, lowering himself onto him with his thighs clamped to Halsin's sides. Bracing himself for the rock hard intrusion spreading him wide open.
Halsin sharply inhaled through his teeth in surprise, gasping and growling under his breath. "What-"
Halsin's hands caressed his shoulders and back, tracing the remnants of his wings before grabbing his ass and pulling his cheeks apart.
He sunk deep hard strokes into him then, thrusts that sent stabbing jolts up his spine, and Robin bit down on his lower lip in return, stopping just short of drawing blood with the tips of his fangs.
"It's still my turn", Robin reminded him quietly, brushing his lips against his now as he began to ride him. Halsin moved his trembling hands to his hips and buried his head in his neck, sucking on his sensitive skin, trailing kisses across his shoulders and chest, down to the silken wisps of dark brown hair. He cupped one of his breasts, teasing the soft, puffy nipple with the scrape of his teeth against the golden jewelry piercing his skin and a soothing lick of his tongue.
A tingling warmth spread throughout Robin as he finally felt his body giving in and Halsin's cock prying him open. It washed over him in waves, spreading to his ass and throbbing clit, where their bodies connected and wherever Halsin touched him, making his skin flush and hot with desire. He threw his head back and picked up the pace, hungrily bouncing up and down the length of him. Arching against and impaling himself on him, again and again, until he was panting and glistening with sweat.
Soft grunting sounds of exertion and pleasure spilled from his lips, growing louder as he chased after his release. Halsin met his thrusts now, pushing into him as far as Robin would let him, chasing his climax with the same hungry ferocity, leaving scratches and bite marks next to the blooming bruises across the small curves of his tits, then his chest and his collarbone.
Before long he cried out, slamming down onto his lap for one last time, bursting into a hundred pieces against the throbbing heat inside of him.
But Halsin gave him no time to catch his breath. He stood up and twirled him around, setting him down on the floor. As Robin got on his hands and knees the elf moved behind him, curling his body over his, covering his slender shape with ease. He wrapped an arm around him and tucked his chin over his shoulder while Robin pressed his chest flat against the dewy grass.
As he slowly came to his senses again, he felt Halsin’s knees pushing his legs apart and his dick sliding into him. Robin knew that he wasn't quite ready to take all of him like this, not when he already felt this full and stretched out and Halsin’s hips were steadily pounding more inches into him still. But he was eager to bear it all and so he spread his legs further, allowing Halsin to slide into his dripping cunt.
His breath was uneven and ragged next to his ear as he buried him underneath his weight and pushed deeper, the pound of his heart strong against Robin’s back. “Relax, lover…”
Robin turned his head to brush his beard against Halsin's bare face. He couldn't be any more relaxed than he already was.
A low groan escaped his lips as Halsin bottomed out inside of him, hitting spots so deep, Robin didn't even know they existed. With his balls pressed up against him, Halsin took hold of his hips and began to thrust into him. Slowly at first, but soon Robin's claws dug into the soil as he weathered the assault on his tight hole.
A hand made its way up his back and spread out between his shoulder blades, gently stroking his skin but mercilessly keeping him pinned to the ground. Unable to move he let himself become limp, soft and ready to receive the rough fucking he gave him. It was all he could do when the blood of the beast ran hot underneath the Archdruid's skin.
Halsin truly lost himself in him this time. He drove his cock into Robin until a primal haze grasped both of them. With every rutting stroke he stoked the fiery heat coiling at his core. Every dig of his nails and every brush of his lips and scrape of his teeth shoved him closer to the edge.
And when he finally felt the white searing spill of Halsin coating his insides with the creamy slick of his cum, Robin could all but squeeze his eyes closed and sink his fangs into his lower lips to stifle his own violent moans. He felt some of it leak out of him as he trembled and writhed beneath him, trailing along the inside of his thighs.
With a wide smile Halsin breathed out an exhausted sigh and drew himself up to his knees. The kisses he pressed to the inside of his thighs were gentle now, the touch of his tree-trunk hands weak but determined to please. "Forgive me, I lost control of myself."
When Halsin came to a breathless rest on top of him, Robin rasped out a chuckle and shoved him off him with all the leftover strength he could muster up. "So much for letting me take you."
Raising to stand over him, he tapped his fingertip against his swollen clit. "Suck it. Clean up the mess you made. Suck my dick."
"That's alright", Robin murmured as he watched Halsin lick the salty cum off his skin before wrapping his lips around him. Catching the tip of his ear between his fingertips he tenderly rubbed the sensitive skin between his thumb and forefinger before gathering his hair in his fist and shoving his face between his legs. "You have all night to make it up to me."

Ex-DELAIN Singer CHARLOTTE WESSELS Explores 'Heavier Sound' On Upcoming Solo Album
Tumblr media
Charismatic Dutch singer/songwriter Charlotte Wessels is set to release her new studio album on September 20, 2024 via Napalm Records. The LP's first single, "The Exorcism", will arrive on May 16, 2024.
Wessels's album promises a cohesive exploration of fear and liberation, as well as spellbinding melancholia and dark, catchy elements meeting progressive and heavier soundscapes. Charlotte and her band will bring this story to the stage on October 4, 2024 at Utrecht's TivoliVredenburg.
The former DELAIN vocalist's earlier solo endeavors, "Tales From Six Feet Under" (2021) and "Tales From Six Feet Under Vol II" (2022) already gained Wessels a remarkable number of devotees, but for the upcoming release, Wessels is raising the bar significantly. While still writing and producing the songs in her Six Feet Under basement home studio and sharing their first incarnations with her patrons, now she's taking the songs to the next level with a band of her fellow ex-DELAIN cohorts Timo Somers (guitars, additional arrangements),Otto Schimmelpenninck Van Der Oije (bass) and Joey Marin De Boer (drums) as well as Sophia Vernikov (piano/hammond),contributing to the new, heavier sound. The album also features arrangements by Vikram Shankar (SILENT SKIES, PAIN OF SALVATION),cello by Elianne Anemaat, mixing by Guido Aalbers (MUSE, COLDPLAY, THE GATHERING) and mastering by Andy VanDette (PORCUPINE TREE, VOLA, DREAM THEATER).
Wessels states: "This album is significant, for on the one hand, telling such a deeply personal journey — through its unintended theme of fear and obsessive thoughts — and at the same time, representing the joy of finding the song's true forms with everyone involved in the making of this record. There were moments in the studio with the band that truly reminded me of why I love making music in the first place, and I don't think I've ever been as excited about music going out into the world. This is the album I want to re-introduce myself with, and I'm so glad to do it with this amazing team."
In a 2022 interview with Spain's The Metal Circus TV, Wessels was asked how she feels about the fact that DELAIN made a comeback with a new lineup. A short time earlier, DELAIN released a single, "The Quest And The Curse", featuring keyboardist, founder and main songwriter Martijn Westerholt alongside new singer Diana Leah, original guitarist Ronald Landa and original drummer Sander Zoer, plus bassist Ludovico Cioffi. Charlotte said: "I'm trying not to engage with it too much, honestly. I've seen positive responses about it, which I think is good. But I do try to keep some distance and just focus on what I'm doing rather than checking that out, because I still don't feel like that will make me happier per se."
In February 2021, Westerholt announced the dissolution of DELAIN's previous lineup. At the time, he explained: "For the last year or so, the collaboration within the band ceased to work as well as it once had. Some of us were no longer happy with the current roles in the band. We all tried very hard to find a solution for over a year, but sadly we were unable to find one. As a result, we will all be going our own ways and pursuing our own endeavors.
"I am very sad our cooperation has come to end, but at the same time I am very grateful for all the years we were able to work together. Together we toured the world, shared highs and lows, and met with many successes as well as times that pushed us to learn and grow. We all enjoyed meeting our fans and making new friends all over the globe."
At the time, Wessels said about her departure: "I know that you might have questions about the 'why' in all of this. I fully understand and respect that. Simply put, it is the sad conclusion of more than a year of trying to find solutions to built-up grievances. Part of me feels like I'm letting all of you down, I'd like you to know that this decision was not taken lightly and I apologize to those of you who had high hopes of seeing all of us together live on stage again after lockdown. Until recently, I thought this might still be in the cards for us as well."
The new DELAIN lineup made its official live debut in August 2022 at the Riverside festival in Aarburg, Switzerland.

I've seen a bit of your essays about egypt references in sumeru. Will you do one for each character? Asking because I really wanna know what you think of Alhaitham, Deshret and Nabu Malinka
Oh Wow I'm so glad folks are still finding those! (also so sorry it took me like a month to respond)
So I double checked and I only got around to posting Nilou, Cyno, and Apep on Tumblr. I thought I vaguely touched on King Deshret just before 3.0 launch but I think that was just in a comment on someone else's post about Sumeru and Egypt. Same thing with Candace unfortunately.
I'd have to look into Al-Haitham a little more. Other than his name being Arabic there doesn't seem to be much linking him to the Egypt side of things. Most things from the Akademiya are Hindi inspired and I don't have enough knowledge in that area to feel comfortable assuming links between things.
For Nabu Malikata it was a waiting game. We knew about the flower goddess in 3.0, but it's only been the last two area updates where we've even learned her name. Now that we have all of it. . . It actually doesn't make it that much easier. Nabu implies Mesopotamian gods might be involved meaning there love myths are on the table along with the OsirisXIsis myth which would be the easy answer (if it was like a role swapped version lol), then you have the Tanit and Babel dropping Torah references left and right. On top of all that since we know Nilou is supposed to symbolize Nabu and Nilou has Hindi connections in her stuff we can't rule out Hinduism from our list of old religious sources.
Basically Mihoyo pulled from every middle eastern primary (hopefully) source they could get their hands on. And didn't care which they put on some characters. Characters like Cyno or Candace are easy to break down into Anubis and Horus. But even King Deshret has other things mixed in there. Like they legit replaced Amun-Ra with Deshret. Like they redesigned the eye of Ra to mean King Deshret in Teyvat. I'm guessing because Ra is so well known they couldn't use the name? But it just makes things messier.
So short answer Candace, Deyha, and King Deshret are definitely on the table for me to finally post their breakdowns. (Seeing as Candace's character quest or hangout apparently isn't happening). Nabu Malikata's breakdown and King Deshret and Nabu's love story on the other hand are in time out until if figure out if they're even an Egyptian myth or a Sumerian one.
And no time frame for any of these. It took me a month to get to this ask. I'm not exactly the fastest historical researcher at the moment.
