Do you think Levi actually would save some stupid girl over humanity? Clearly you don’t understand Levi’s character at all. He’s ruthless and doesn’t care about stupid shit like love.

I think people are misinterpreting what I’ve said. I’m saying if he was in love, which is possible with anyone, that I think he would try his best to protect that person. If someone wants to risk their lives he won’t stop them, he didn’t stop Erwin and he didn’t stop Hange. But he’s proven time and time again by saving people multiple times that if he can protect people he will. He saved/protected the cadets more than once, he even dragged Floch to safety and he didn’t even like him.

I’m not saying that he’s going to put one persons life over humanity I’m saying he will do his best to protect the people he loves. Including an S/O if he had one.

I also don’t think he’s ruthless. He is the most caring/compassionate person in the whole anime in my opinion.

Also at the end of the day these are just that…opinions. Nobody is right or wrong when it comes to that because we have zero idea how he would act if he had an s/o. These are just things I think based on his character other people might not think that and that’s totally fine. I have never claimed my thoughts are facts or that I understand his character any better than anyone else and if I’m coming off that way I do sincerely apologize. Hey there! I’ve been lurking in the whump community for a little while (a writer considering making an account and joining in sometime soon). In the meantime I wanted to say I love your writing! I’ve read a fair chunk of it and i know I will work my way through the rest.

Levi is my favourite of your whumpees so far, and his relationship with Cameron gives me so many feelings! I love seeing the mixture of angst and softness between them as Levi heals and they process this huge thing together. So I have a question that combines the two haha.

Does Levi ever have nightmares about what happened to him? Has he ever woken Cameron up by yelling in his sleep? What would the aftermath of that look like do you think?

I'm actually trying to finish up the next chapter for them this week I hope! They've just continued to live their little lives in my head and I desperately need to get some of it down on paper.

Under the cut because I rambled as usual and made a long post lol

So, Levi definitely has nightmares. He mostly thrashes a bit in his sleep and wakes up just drenched in sweat and it's a huge part of why, at this point in the story, he is so reluctant to sleep in Cameron's bed. (Well, one of the reasons).

He has slept in the bed a few times, but he's still mostly on the couch. He's just awake so much of the night and he doesn't want to disturb Cameron's rest and he doesn't want him to see how much he is still struggling.

Cameron knows though.

He's woken up quite a few times to the sound of Levi still awake at all hours watching tv because he wont even try to sleep. That's mostly how Levi deals with it. He tries to completely ignore the issue and powers through on the littlest amount of sleep possible.

When he does sleep, it's fitful and marred with bad dreams or just the feeling of his heart beating far to fast for 2am only to finally drift off from sheer exhaustion.

Only once has he woken up full on screaming. It took Cameron a good hour at least getting Levi to calm down and fully focus on him. He slept on the couch that night, with Levi tucked up against his chest with his face all blotchy and swollen from the tears.

Levi has such a hard time admitting it, but he sleeps so much better with Cameron by his side. He desperately needs the touch to sooth him and having Cameron at his back makes him finally feel safe enough to sleep without feeling the presence of those men behind him. He just feels that presence constantly and he still can't seem to shake it.

Levi has crawled into bed with Cameron only a few times so far, beyond exhausted and needing to sleep so badly it hurt. He discovered that he doesn't have the full blown nightmares when he's in the bed and he resents the hell out of that lol

He feels so incredibly vulnerable when he feels he actually needs someone in his life to feel safe, or happy for that matter.

So he still tries to go sleep on the couch the majority of the nights. He tries to train himself to be able to sleep on his own, because, what if it doesn't work out between him and Cameron? What if he's alone again? He'll need to be able to sleep without Cameron always at his side.

To fully answer your question though! Yes, he has nightmares and he wakes up with a jolt and he usually wakes up angry. He gets up immediately and will often either go shower or storm off to go for a walk and cool down, leaving Cameron a worried mess, forcing himself to wait for him to get back and not just run after him.

He'll come back looking so drawn and sad in the early hours of the morning. He'll make breakfast and hope Cameron doesn't mention it.

Sometimes he wakes up from the nightmare and breaks down completely. Cameron has only witnessed that happen twice, other than the night with the screaming. Once, Levi woke up and just started sobbing and shaking and Cameron heard him from the bedroom and Levi actually let him just hold him until he finally drifted off again.

The second time, Cameron didn't hear him but woke up to a teary eyed Levi trying to sneak into the bed without waking him. He pulled him close to his chest and Levi finally fell asleep all curled up with his face tucked up against Cameron's neck.

He wakes up early afterwards though and pulls away from Cameron just horribly embarrassed. Cameron isn't sure how to convince him that it's okay and that he truly wants to be able to be there for him and that there's nothing to be ashamed of.

Levi will eventually get there eventually! I'm sure he will. He will let Cameron in and let himself feel safe and loved with just a little more ease. And hopefully soon, he'll be able to crawl into the bed on a good night, rather than a bad one. But right now, it's still super hard for him to be that vulnerable.

Cameron is so patient now though! He'll be there every step of the way!

Lucifer

He thinks it’s adorable.

Lucifer isn’t a very expressive person, so he finds it amusing how every expression is played on their face.

It’s also much easier to guess what they are thinking about when their ‘heart’ is on their sleeve.

Mammon

Couldn’t tell what someone was thinking or feeling if it was written on their forehead.

He of course notices that they make faces, but thinks it’s just a weird human thing and not unique to s/o

Typical Mammon puts his foot in his mouth by commenting on it often. Making s/o embarrassed, and then him out in the proverbial cold for a bit.

Levi

Also not good at telling what people are feeling, but he is actually good at reading expressions (probably from all those emoji games he plays).

Finds it helpful since his social cues are non-existent. He can sort of pick up on the moment this way, rather than just being totally awkward.

His success rate is only about 60% but he’s working on improving his stats.

Satan

Notices right away but chooses not to comment on it in order to deduce what it’s all about.

Being the inner detective that he is, Satan quickly learns what their facial expressions are about and what they signify.

Within a few weeks he almost has a full map of what they are feeling based on advanced physiognomy. He’s even written it down as a reference guide somewhere in his books; carefully hidden away as he would die if s/o found it.

Asmo

Everything s/o does is cute, but this is one of the cutest.

Every little furrow of their brow, purse of their lips, crinkle of their nose, sends Asmo into an emoting fit of love. He just can’t help how adorable it is!

He does feel the need to comment on making sure they relax their face, lest they get pre-mature wrinkles.

Beel hardly notices it.
