i can't think properly or i'd do it all myself but
taylor swift (debut) album as tlh characters. welcome to do it incompletely and i'll collab i got stuck at tim mcgraw so
also yes or no is cold as you thomas when he's mad at alastair, a mix of that cog-coi gap and academy conflicted emotions? and teardrops on my guitar is his admiration from a distance while alastair's with charles. the outside is alastair's pov
iomwiwy is gracetopher. mary's song is jordelia. and invisible is cordelia @ james and grace in cog.
agree or disagree i don't mind just keen to hear what you think!
OKAY SO here are my takes:
Tim McGraw: Matthew to Cordelia at the end of the series, ngl. Like, yeah, the love is lost now, but it was something and he hopes she thinks of him sometimes and what they shared in Paris.
Picture to Burn: Thomas at Alastair after Chain of Gold. "Coming back around here would be bad for your health" has the same vibes as "I'll chuck you in the Thames if you talk to me again."
Teardrops on My Guitar: Academy Thomas to Academy Alastair for SURE but yes, also Thomas to Alastair when he's with Charles. Like, "he's the song in the car I keep singing? don't know why I do?" Yes. Yes yes yes. Also, THE ONLY THING THAT KEEPS ME WISHIN' ON A WISHING STAR? Kill me dead you're so right
A Place in This World: This might be controversial but lowkey Ari? She feels a little lost and is trying to find her place in the world and I love her.
Cold as You: Yes, once again, Thomas to Alastair after Chain of Gold. Filled with conflicted emotions, you're so incredibly right.
The Outside: Has been on my Alastair playlist since Day One for obvious reasons. I absolutely adore this song for him like "how can I ever try to be better? Nobody ever lets me in" literally something he says in period-typical terms in Chain of Iron. Also in the Letter Game. And he's right! He's the best!
Tied Together With a Smile: Matthew. I don't even feel like I need to explain this. He cries but doesn't tell anyone that he might not be the golden one? He's tied together with a smile but he's coming undone? Yes. That's all there is
Stay Beautiful: Thomas to Alastair. Like he thinks he is so beautiful and hopes that life leads him back to his front door! He is waxing poetic about his eyes (like petals of a flower, not the jungle, but still!) Idk 100% see this, but also could be Alastair to Thomas too he also finds him beautiful I wish we got more of his PoVs :')
Should've Said No: I'm going to say maybe Cordelia @ both James and Matthew after Paris, lol. They should both indeed be begging for forgiveness at her feet. (I'm kidding, mostly).
Mary's Song: Yeah, unfortunately Jordelia. But, since I love this song, Thomastair too. "Said you'd beat me up you were bigger than me, you never did." Kind of a stretch but I don't want to think about James/Jordelia every time I hear it LOL
Our Song: OKAY LOWKEY GHOSTWRITER Because like. They're sneaking out and tapping on each other's window? They're in that little glow of first love? Idk I really like this association and am down with it LOL
A Perfectly Good Heart: Alastair to Charles please. A precursor to him going all-out and singing "I'll Bet You Think About Me" from Red TV at Charles because Charles sucks. I love the idea of Alastair blasting Taylor's angry country bops at Charles. It cleanses my soul.
Invisible: I actually want to go with Matthew to Cordelia here ngl
I'm Only Me When I'm With You: Yes I fully agree that it's either Grace to Christopher OR Alastair to Thomas also really works for it.

Maxiel + Tattoos
If I'm bein' honest when you look at me
It's like kissin' a million angels
And every tattoo's so intoxicating
From your neck and right down to your ankles
Max knows that they should be asleep. He can hear his father’s voice in his head, telling him that he needs to get at least 8 hours of sleep or he’ll be drowsy for the race and won’t compete as well. But Max has already won the championship and locked down the constructors so it doesn’t matter as much. Besides, it’s the last race of the season, he can break some of his rules.
It’s also Daniel’s last race, maybe ever. And that’s enough to keep Max wide awake. Maybe if he never falls asleep, the day won’t come.
And Daniel is looking at him, dark eyes soft and sweet and it’s so so much. Max can’t breathe when Daniel looks at him like that. So instead, he doesn’t meet Daniel’s gaze, letting his eyes and fingers trace over Daniel’s tattoos instead.
Daniel has the hotel blanket rucked up around his body, but he’s rolled over to face Max, leaving his one leg exposed. It’s easier to focus on the muscles in Daniel’s thighs, the way the black ink decorates his skin than to think about what all of this means.
Because even though when he thinks of Daniel, his heart beats faster, and he feels things he thinks most people would describe as love, he’s not really sure where they stand. Especially if Daniel isn’t going to be on the race track anymore.
Fifteen and sixteen, I had to be strong
Twenty-two, I'm still scared of it all
'Cause I know one day I could wake up and you'll be gone
As he traces Daniel’s thigh, he thinks about when they met. Max had never been the most popular kid growing up, all of his focus going toward racing and training and beating everyone else. It didn’t make him very many friends. At Toro Rosso, Carlos was always nice to him, offering to take Max for dinner or inviting him to workouts. But Max still felt like he was on the outs there. No one likes being the second driver, no matter what Carlos claimed.
But then he moved up to Red Bull and met Daniel and it was the first time he’d ever felt normal or liked by anyone he’d ever raced with. Daniel was more than a teammate, he was more than a friend. Max thought he hung the stars. And he never really stopped thinking that.
But the question that always circled his brain, poking him at the worst times: does Daniel feel the same?
And I'll just be lonely, missin'
Holdin' your hand when we're half asleep
Lonely, wishin' we never kissed in your backseat
And that's what scares me the most
Knowin' that you could just let me go
And I'll just be lonely, missin'
Holdin' your hand when we're half asleep
And that’s what’s scary to Max. Feeling this way about someone, much less about Daniel Fucking Ricciardo, one of the only people who’s ever seen Max for who he actually is is terrifying.
He moves his hands from Daniel’s thigh, grabbing his large hand instead, playing with his fingers, tracing over the number 3 etched in Daniel’s skin.
Sometimes Max wishes he’d never made a move. They were in Monaco, Daniel not going back to Australia over the short break, leaving them both some time to see each other off of the track. Michael was there too, which Max didn’t mind. Michael was nice to him, sometimes he invited Max to their training sessions.
Where they were going, Max can’t remember anymore. All he knows is that Daniel’s hand was on his thigh, both of them slightly tipsy from the wine at dinner. He knows that Daniel had smiled at him, and saw Daniel’s eyes flick to Max’s lips. And that was all it had taken. Max had climbed onto Daniel’s lap, catching a surprised but not disappointed look flash across Daniel’s eyes. He’d pressed their lips together, hard and uncoordinated. But Daniel, like in every other situation Max had ever experienced with him, had taken control, slowing them down, gripping Max’s hips to calm him slightly.
Max doesn’t regret it often, only at times like this, where uncertainty hangs in the air between them. When he’s forced to think about what it might be like when Daniel isn’t in the paddock anymore, when they don’t have hotel room beds to share. And he wonders if the loneliness he’s destined to feel next year will be worth feeling to have had Daniel for a few years.
Getting kinda tired of turnin' pages
I hopе you're not the type to pull thе same shit
'Cause you could be like everyone I've dated
They don't love me, they just want to see me naked
Daniel can tell that Max is on edge. He’s never the best at talking about his feelings, leaving Daniel guessing. And all Daniel can think is that Max is trying to figure out how to end this, even though this had never really been defined.
And Daniel had thought, or rather hoped, that Max would be different. That Max maybe liked him for him, not for his racing skills or his smile or his body. He was used to people getting tired of him after a while, pushing him aside for someone more exciting or more talented, or more serious.
With Max, it had always been different. Max was a different person with Daniel, a better person. With Daniel, racing mattered less. Even when Daniel had left Red Bull, even when he’d started to drop in the standings, winning less and finishing out of the points more, Max hadn’t changed. He still believed that Daniel was a good driver and he’d always told Daniel that he was deserving of the best things in the world.
But now, Daniel can only wait for the other shoe to drop. He’s out and Max is the world champion for the second time and it’s only a matter of time before Max decides that he can do better than Daniel.
Fifteen and sixteen, I had to be strong
Twenty-two, I'm still scared of it all
'Cause I know one day I could wake up and you'll be gone
Max traces patterns on Daniel’s thigh and Daniel thinks. He thinks about moving to Europe as a kid, knowing no one. He thinks about the way that he learned how to win people over, he thinks about lying awake in a foreign city, wondering if it’ll all be worth it.
He thinks about choosing to leave Red Bull, remembers the tears in Max’s eyes when he’d told him. He thinks about how he thought it would be over then, that Max would cut all ties with him, devotion to Red Bull reigning over everything.
And he thinks about how Max didn’t. How Max treated him the same way he’d always had. He thinks about how he doesn’t know what he would do if Max stopped thinking of him like that.
And I'll just be lonely, missin'
Holdin' your hand when we're half asleep
Lonely, wishin' we never kissed in your backseat
And that's what scares me the most
Knowin' that you could just let me go
And I'll just be lonely, missin'
Holding your hand when we're half asleep
He thinks about their first kiss, in the backseat of Daniel’s Renault, Michael driving them from dinner to a bar, the short break allowing them time to enjoy each other’s company. Daniel had been pleasantly surprised when Max had spent most of that break with him and not with Lando or another driver. He doesn’t think he’ll ever forget the moment that Max kissed him, shuffling over the armrest to crawl into Daniel’s lap. It was messy, too eager, and Daniel remembers thinking that it was the best kiss he’d ever had. He remembers gripping Max’s hips to settle the younger man, taking control to slow it down, savour it, remember it.
And then they’d just never stopped, Daniel too scared to define it. But now, laying here next to Max, one race left for Daniel (maybe ever), he wishes he could go back to that day. Wishes he would have made Max his right there and then. Wishes he’d ever had the courage to do it.
But instead, he’s here, worrying about the impending end, feeling Max’s deft hands tracing the number three on his finger over and over again.
If I'm bein' honest when you look at me
It's like kissin' a million angels
And every tattoo's so intoxicating
From your neck and right down to your ankles
But that's what scares me the most
It'll tear me apart when you go
Max feels Daniel clutch his hand and he reluctantly lets his eyes meet Daniel’s. There’s so much emotion there, and anyone other than Max might not know what Daniel is feeling, what he can’t say.
But Max does. He knows Daniel more than anyone. He knows that he has to do something here, knows Daniel is feeling small and down this season. If anyone is going to do something, it’s going to be Max.
He steels himself, letting himself clutch Daniel’s hand once more, letting himself look at Daniel one more time, letting himself remember what it feels like to love and be loved by Daniel.
And then he sits up, pulls Daniel’s head into his lap, runs his hands through Daniel’s curls, and says,
“Daniel, we need to talk.”

Rating every Taylor Swift Song part 3
Teardrops On My Guitar
Thoughts:
Love it. Love it. Love it.
It’s the kind of song that I associate with a girl with a  small sad smile  and tears running down her face looking at her crush’s happiness from afar which is so sad to think about but also so pretty because she wants him to be happy.
Good teenage love, heartbreak but also a pure kind of love.
The chorus is just wonderful.
The whole song has a pretty vibe and it’s just so girlhood coded that it’s relatable.
Favourite lyrics:
Drew looks at me
I fake a smile, so he won't see
I'll bet she's beautiful, that girl he talks about
And she's got everything that I have to live without
He says he's so in love, he's finally got it right
I wonder if he knows he's all I think about at night
He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only thing that keeps me wishin' on a wishing star
He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do
Rating:
10/10

right where you left me - "Did you ever hear about the girl who got frozen? / Time went on for everybody else, she won't know it / She's still twenty-three inside her fantasy / How it was supposed to be"
AND GOLD RUSH I LOVE THAT SONG WITH THE ENTIRETY OF MY SOUL
you're on your own, kid - "So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it / You've got no reason to be afraid / You're on your own, kid / Yeah you can face this"

Shadowhunters ships as Taylor Swift songs: Jordelia
Teardrops on my guitar
Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see that I want and I'm needing everything that we should be
I'll bet she's beautiful, that girl he talks about and she's got everything that I have to live without
Drew talks to me, I laugh 'cause it's just so funny but I can't even see anyone when he's with me
He says he's so in love, he's finally got it right, i wonder if he knows he's all I think about at night
He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar, the only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star, he's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do
August
Salt air, and the rust on your door, I never needed anything more
Whispers of "Are you sure?" "Never have I ever before"
But I can see us lost in the memory, august slipped away into a moment in time, 'cause it was never mine
And I can see us twisted in bedsheets, august sipped away like a bottle of wine, 'cause you were never mine
Your back beneath the sun, wishin' I could write my name on it
Will you call when you're back at school? I remember thinkin' I had you
Babe
What a shame, didn't want to be the one that got away, yeah
Big mistake, you broke the sweetest promise, that you never should have made
I'm here on the kitchen floor, you call, but I won't hear it
You said no one else, how could you do this, babe?
You really blew this, babe, we ain't getting through this one, babe (yeah, yeah, yeah)
This is the last time I'll ever call you, babe
What a waste, taking down the pictures and the plans we made, yeah, and it's strange how your face doesn't look so innocent, your secret has its consequence and that's on you, babe
I break down every time you call, we're a wreck, you're the wrecking ball, we said no one else, how could you do this, babe?
You really blew this, babe, we ain't getting through this one, babe
This is the last time I'll ever call you, babe
Since you admitted it, I keep picturing, her lips on your neck, I can't unsee it
I hate that because of you, I can't love you, babe
If this was a movie
Come back, come back, come back to me like you would, you would if this was a movie, stand in the rain outside 'til I came out, come back, come back, come back to me like you could, you could if you just said you're sorry, i know that we could work it out somehow, but if this was a movie you'd be here by now
If you're out there, of you're somewhere, if you're moving on, I'll be waiting for you, wary, since you've been gone
I just want it back the way it was before and I just want to see you back at my front door, and I say come back, come back, come back to me like you would before you said it's not that easy, before the fight, before I locked you out but I take it all back now

Rewrite the Stars || Zendaya & Zac Efron
What if we rewrite the stars? Say you were made to be mine Nothing could keep us apart You'd be the one I was meant to find It's up to you, and it's up to me No one can say what we get to be So why don't we rewrite the stars? Maybe the world could be ours Tonight

Maybe it's intuition But some things you just don't question Like in your eyes, I see my future in an instant And there it goes I think I found my best friend I know that it might sound More than a little crazy but I believe

Runaway || Traveling Wilburys
I'm a-walkin' in the rain Tears are fallin' and I feel the pain Wishin' you were here by me To end this misery

And I wonder where she will stay My little runaway A-run-run-run-run-runaway

She and I went on the run Don't care about religion I'm gonna marry the woman I love Down by the Wexford border She was Nancy Mulligan And I was William Sheeran She took my name and then we were one Down by the Wexford border
Hey! Look! I finally did the thing!! Fellow Benophie fans have asked for the songs I think speak to the couple and here are my selections! (In no specific order.) I literally scrolled through my iTunes library last night and picked out songs. I'm sure there are songs I've missed/will add later, but I consider this a good start ^_^.
And I hope you enjoy my Benophie collage! I had fun creating that :-).
Enjoy!
UPDATE: I created a Spotify playlist with these songs! Click here!

SoMa Week Day 6: Moon
My sixth (and favorite) contribution to @soulxmakaweek! Special appearance of heartwarming Soul-dad. Read it on ff.net, ao3, or after the cut!
While it was definitely Jack's favorite, Soul could take it or leave it. What was all that fantastic about saying goodnight to everything from red balloons to mush? Who the fuck knew, but the way Jack's face lit up every time Soul grabbed "Goodnight Moon" was enough to keep the nightly tradition alive. This was a baby book, definitely not right for Jack's age anymore, but Soul had started dreading the idea that his son could grow out of it especially as the beautiful blonde-haired, green-eyed, perfect little picture of his mother was rounding the corner of seven. Every day he was proving to be more of a Maka-clone than they'd bargained for, and that independent streak was growing like kudzu. Maybe that was why the question didn't surprise him all that much, even though the topic did.
"Daddy?" Jack's eyes were still wide and thoughtful as Soul eased the book shut. It was always the last thing to read after the chapter book they'd started, a common occurrence for a Friday when Soul wanted to give Maka the extra quiet time.
"Yeah?" Soul prompted as he settled down with his head on the pillow next to his son. That tone from Jack usually meant eighty more questions were about to follow, so he at least wanted to get some rest while they shot past him.
"Was Pop-pop tellin' me the truth when he said you and Mama went to the moon?"
"Pop-pop told you that, huh?" Oh, Spirit, you're going to fuckin' get it. Soul tried to resist the frown on his lips.
"I know he likes teasin'..." Jack's little brow furrowed and Soul saw himself reflected there momentarily, a reminder that maybe Jack wasn't all Maka.
"Well," Soul started but stopped to clear his throat. Well, kiddo, we're superhuman, you know? I sorta flew your mama up there with Uncle Black Star and Aunt Tsubaki and we all had a grand time almost dyin' because we had to save the world. Kinda didn't have a choice.
"Daddy?" Jack questioned again.
Soul worked his lips together for a second. "You know how Mama told you about our work, right?" Maka, come here, please, save me from this!
"Yeah." Jack was nodding along, clearly ready for the point.
Maka, I know you can hear me, feel me, Soul muttered off in his head to no avail. He sighed. "We needed to go there for that. So Pop-pop wasn't teasin' but…"
"But?" Jack prompted.
Soul got up on his elbow, letting his hand reach for that tiny face and smooth the ashy-gold hair from his face. "It was hard, kiddo. I was scared. I think Mama was scared, too, but you know her. I guess that was when I knew how much I loved your mama. How important bein' together was."
Jack's eyebrows shot up as the idea hit him. "Was that when I was born?"
Soul chuckled, "Nah, you were way after that. But maybe that's when I first started thinkin' about you. First time I thought maybe this is where me and your mama were gonna end up."
"Do you think I can go to the moon?"
"Maybe," Soul answered with a shrug. Kiddo, I'm waitin' every day to see your weapon form or that meister energy shinin' through. I know it's comin' because there's no way with me and Maka that you aren't but… still scares me, too. Maybe a little part of me is wishin' the only way you see the moon is through the window, not up close in a battle for life and death. "Guess we'll find out when you're older. Alright, Jack, you've reached the question quota for the evenin'-"
"Daddy!"
"So shut your eyes-" Soul continued with as much of a threat in his voice as he could muster, "-and start countin' sheep." He planted a soft kiss on Jack's forehead as the little boy groaned one last complaint. "G'night. Love you."
"Love you," Jack grumbled back, begrudgingly shutting his eyes.
Soul smirked all the way to the door, only losing it when he saw another set of green eyes mischievously staring at him as he entered the hallway. "Thanks for your help with that," Soul complained as he shut the door gently.
"You had it entirely under control," Maka whispered back as she approached him. She slid her arms gently around his waist, wrinkling his t-shirt up in her hands.
"Either way, Pop-pop's gonna get it." Soul was still ready for more bellyaching, but as Maka tilted her chin up at him, he entirely fell victim to the ploy, leaning down to grace her with a few tender kisses. His hand caressed over her cheek, his thumb finally settling to play with the fine hairs just in front of her ear. "Did I tell him the right thing?"
"About the moon?" Maka murmured, still mostly lost in his kiss even if it was nothing new.
"Yeah," he sighed softly. "Sometimes, I just… I wish there was a fuckin' book on the balance between protectin' him and lettin' him grow especially when it comes to 'your parents are a demon weapon and a meister, so, kiddo, life's kinda a toss-up.'"
"Maybe you should write one," Maka giggled.
"That one line would be the entire book," Soul huffed.
"Well…" Maka dusted a kiss against the five o'clock shadow that had started to litter his chin. "I really did like the part about how you- as a teen- were thinking we'd end up together with a kid and another on the way," she teased. "Isn't that romanticizing it a little bit, Soul?"
There was no baby-bump to speak of, not yet at least since Maka had barely shown with Jack to begin with, and the idea of 'the second spawn' as Black Star had so nicely named it was still fairly new in its own right, but Soul still let a hand search for it. "Dunno, babe. Maybe we just settle on love at first sight and say I was dreamin' of this since you took my hand from the piano."
Maka snorted, "You're getting soft in your old age. What happened to Mr. Cool?"
Soul shrugged as he stole another kiss. "Haven't been cool a day since I met you, Maka Albarn."
She shook her head softly, letting her nose nuzzle his. "Opposite. Every day you get cooler. Proved it right now with Jack, even 'the second spawn' agrees."
He let any last lingering fear the memory had brought back to him disappear, once again enveloped in their current reality rather than that tumultuous past. "Agree to disagree."

folklore x Twilight: An Analysis
folklore's lyrics match Twilight uncannily well and here’s proof!
my tears ricochet - Rosalie
Tumblr media
We gather here, we line up, weepin' in a sunlit room And if I'm on fire, you'll be made of ashes, too Even on my worst day, did I deserve, babe All the hell you gave me? 'Cause I loved you, I swear I loved you 'Til my dying day I didn't have it in myself to go with grace And you're the hero flying around, saving face And if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake? Cursing my name, wishing I stayed Look at how my tears ricochet We gather stones, never knowing what they'll mean Some to throw, some to make a diamond ring You know I didn't want to have to haunt you But what a ghostly scene You wear the same jewels that I gave you As you bury me
And I can go anywhere I want Anywhere I want, just not home And you can aim for my heart, go for blood But you would still miss me in your bones And I still talk to you (When I'm screaming at the sky) And when you can't sleep at night (You hear my stolen lullabies)
Rosalie would sing this to her murderer/fiancé at her funeral as he goes around being the ‘hero’ and ‘saving face’. She’s ‘screaming at the sky’ because he has stolen the one thing she really wanted from her ‘anywhere I want, just not home’. Even though she loved him ‘til [her] dying day’, she can never forgive and has no choice but to haunt him.

exile - Edward in New Moon
Tumblr media
I think I’ve seen this film before And I didn’t like the ending You’re not my homeland anymore So what am I defending now? You were my town, now I’m in exile seein’ you out We always walked a very thin line You didn’t even hear me out (You didn’t even hear me out) You never gave a warning sign (I gave so many signs) All this time I never learned to read your mind (Never learned to read my mind)
Edward leaves in New Moon because he believes he and his world are too dangerous for Bella, exiling himself indefinitely. They had ‘always walked a very thin line’ as he tried to be with her without harming her, and he literally ‘never learned to read [her] mind’. Now he’s left and can’t do what he wanted to do, i.e protect her (’what am I defending now?’).
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
august - Jacob
Tumblr media
Salt air, and the rust on your door I never needed anything more Whispers of “Are you sure?” “Never have I ever before”
Back when we were still changin' for the better Wanting was enough For me, it was enough To live for the hope of it all Canceled plans just in case you'd call And say, "Meet me behind the mall" So much for summer love and saying "us" 'Cause you weren't mine to lose You weren't mine to lose, no
Your back beneath the sun Wishin' I could write my name on it Will you call when you're back at school? I remember thinkin' I had you
Bella and Jacob start spending time together in the ‘salt air’ by La Push beach fixing beaten-up motorbikes (’rust’). Jacob knows Bella isn’t interested in him but lives in hope (’to live for the hope of it all’) and by the time the Cullens come back he’s convinced he could win Bella’s loyalties (’I remember thinkin’ I had you’). It doesn’t take place in summer, but it is a brief, intense fling that lifts Bella from her Edward-induced winter, and Bella calls Jacob her personal ‘sun’. In the end, though, Bella tells Jacob that there was never really a choice between him and Edward; it was always going to be Edward (’You weren’t mine to lose’).
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
invisible string - Alice & Jasper
Tumblr media
And isn't it just so pretty to think All along there was some Invisible string Tying you to me?
Something wrapped all of my past mistakes in barbed wire Chains around my demons Wool to brave the seasons One single thread of gold Tied me to you
Alice woke up as a vampire with no memory of her past - all she had was her psychic abilities, which were an ‘invisible string’ leading her directly to Jasper. On Jasper’s side, he was living a brutal life training newborn armies until Alice found him and ‘wrapped all of [his] past mistakes in barbed wire’, putting ‘chains around his demons’ and leading him to a better life. You could also interpret it as his journey to chaining his inner monster that wants to kill humans when he goes to live with the Cullens.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
epiphany - Carlisle
Tumblr media
Something med school did not cover Someone's daughter, someone's mother Holds your hand through plastic now "Doc, I think she's crashing out" And some things you just can't speak about
Only twenty minutes to sleep But you dream of some epiphany Just one single glimpse of relief To make some sense of what you've seen
This song describes the experience of medical staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Carlisle was a doctor during the last major pandemic (Spanish Flu in 1918), which is where he turned Edward. A religious man, he searches for an ‘epiphany’ from God while he grapples with the decision to consign another person to a life of vampirism and tries to understand whether or not he still has a soul.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
mad woman - Rosalie
Tumblr media
Do you see my face in the neighbor's lawn? Does she smile? Or does she mouth, "Fuck you forever"? And there's nothing like a mad woman What a shame she went mad No one likes a mad woman You made her like that And you'll poke that bear 'til her claws come out And you find something to wrap your noose around
They say “move on” but you know I won’t
I'm taking my time, taking my time 'Cause you took everything from me
Rosalie is filled with anger and bitterness over her murder. She’s cast in a bad light particularly because she’s an angry, ‘mad woman’ but she explains that her murderers ‘made her like that’ when they ‘took everything from [her]’, and in return she ‘[took her] time’ when killing them to make sure they knew she was coming.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
cardigan - Bella on Jacob
Tumblr media
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan, under someone’s bed  You put me on and said I was your favorite  You drew stars around my scars But now I’m bleedin’
Bella was destroyed after Edward left, feeling that he’d taken most of her with him and was just discarded like an unwanted toy (’I felt like I was an old cardigan, under someone’s bed’). Then she started hanging out with Jacob and his friendship (’I was your favorite’) started to heal - or at least disguise - the hole in her chest (’You drew stars around my scars’). But then he left, too, when the werewolf transformation happened, which left her ‘bleeding’. It turned out she wasn’t really healed, she’d just been papering over the gap with Jacob’s love.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
illicit affairs - Edward & Bella as tragic fated lovers
Tumblr media
Tell yourself you can always stop What started in beautiful rooms  Ends in meetings in parking lots It’s born from just one single glance but it dies and it dies and it dies A million little times
Leave no trace behind, like they don’t even exist
When Edward first becomes enamored with Bella and wants to get closer to her, he convinces himself he can always stop - but he can’t. The more time he spends with her, the more doomed he is. When Bella gets hurt because of him, first in Twilight and then in New Moon, he disappears in hopes of keeping her safe and hides all the presents he gave her (’leave no trace behind’).
And you wanna scream Don't call me "kid," don't call me "baby" Look at this godforsaken mess that you made me You showed me colors you know I can't see with anyone else Don't call me "kid," don't call me "baby" Look at this idiotic fool that you made me You taught me a secret language I can't speak with anyone else
A dwindling mercurial high A drug that only worked the first few hundred times
And you know damn well For you, I would ruin myself A million little times
This part is Bella’s response. When he left, he took away this entire paranormal world he’d introduced her to (‘You taught me a secret language I can’t speak with anyone else’), leaving her to think she’s gone insane because not only has she lost the love of her life, all traces of an entire extra world have disappeared. She wants him to stop patronising her by saying she’ll move on like mortals do (’Don’t call me kid, don’t call me baby, look at this godforsaken mess that you made me’). Desperate to get some sense that he’s still there, she starts doing risky stunts like motorbike racing and jumping off a cliff (’A dwindling mercurial high’). Like she told him in the meadow scene in the first book, she is willing to die for him, and we see in New Moon that he feels the same way (‘you know damn well / For you I would ruin myself, a million little times’). The only way for them to stay apart would’ve been to never meet in the first place.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
seven - Rosalie on her childhood friend Vera
Tumblr media
Please picture me in the trees I hit my peak at seven Feet in the swing over the creek I was too scared to jump in But I, I was high in the sky With Pennsylvania under me Are there still beautiful things? Sweet tea in the summer Cross your heart, won't tell no other And though I can't recall your face I still got love for you Your braids like a pattern Love you to the Moon and to Saturn Passed down like folk songs The love lasts so long
Before I learned civility I used to scream ferociously Any time I wanted
Rosalie fondly recalls her human life and her best friend Vera, who had the normal life she never got. This ‘love lasts so long’ even though Vera is dead by now because Rosalie still remembers her, even if her human memories are fuzzy and she can’t necessarily ‘recall [her] face’. Also, Rosalie was always valued only for her beauty, but maybe she ‘hit [her] peak at seven’ because her beauty hadn’t yet started overshadowing her personhood and she was still able to ‘scream ferociously’ at that age instead of being the girl and young woman who had to learn ‘civility’ and be married off to a rich man.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
hoax - Bella in New Moon
Tumblr media
My only one My smoking gun My eclipsed sun This has broken me down My twisted knife My sleepless night My winless fight This has frozen my ground Stood on the cliffside screaming, "Give me a reason" Your faithless love's the only hoax I believe in Don't want no other shade of blue but you No other sadness in the world would do  My best laid plan Your sleight of hand My barren land I am ash from your fire  You know I left a part of me back in New York You knew the hero died so what's the movie for? You knew it still hurts underneath my scars From when they pulled me apart
Bella’s ‘eclipsed sun’ has disappeared and left her ‘broken’, ‘sleepless’ and believing she has no way to win him back. She literally goes and stands on a ‘cliffside’ before jumping off just to see a hallucination of his face - Edward, a mythical creature, is the ‘only hoax she believes in’. Even though he’s hurt her and broken her heart, she ‘don’t want no other shade of blue but you’. He thinks he’s saving her from harm by leaving, but the scar from James still bothers her, i.e. his leaving cannot protect her as the damage has been done (’You know it still hurts underneath my scars’) and now Edward has just added emotional scars that ‘pulled [her] apart’ and left a gaping hole in her chest.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
peace - Edward & Bella in Breaking Dawn
Tumblr media
I never had the courage of my convictions As long as danger is near And it’s just around the corner darlin Coz it lives in me No, I could never give you peace
Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?
Throughout the series, Edward has been afraid to get too close to Bella for fear of hurting her (’danger is near’, ‘it lives in me’). Now he finally has to accept that she’s not going anywhere and value her choice. Even after he’s no longer a threat to her directly, their life is full of challenges like the Volturi. It’s impossible to guarantee her safety, and she doesn’t want him to - she wants to be in his world as an equal. He comes to terms with the fact that it’s okay if he can ‘never give [her] peace’.

Almost There (Paul McCartney x Reader) Part I
Summary: Miss Y/n L/n of New Orleans has been working day and night as a waitress to get her dream restaurant. Of course, being a ‘”little” woman of such a poor background, it’s been hard on her. People left and right telling her what she can and can’t do, but she’s still kept going year after year, believing that the harder she worked, the more her dreams would come true. But that may change once a charming young man comes to visit her warm little town.
AU: Princess and the Frog (Disney)
Word Count:  1323
Notes: UGH I LOVE PRINCESS AND THE FROG YOU GUYS DON’T EVEN KNOW-- But the reader is, obviously, Tiana, and Paul is Naveen. I didn’t explicitly mention that the reader was African American specifically, because I want everyone to see themselves in the reader’s shoes. I’d love to hear feedback/comments/reblogs/whatever, and I hope you enjoy, everyone! Please message me if you have any issues! I also did take an idea of making Y/n a cat. If the owner of the idea would like to message me about it so I could give you credit, that’d be great! Or if you’d like me to change it to them just being frogs, that’d be okay, too!
Part I: “Wishin’ Upon A Star”
The grand home was quiet all throughout, except for the excited squeals of Lucy as Mrs. L/n continued the story as she sewed on a piece of fabric to the sweet little girl’s dress. Lucy’s best friend, Y/n, sat beside her, her nose scrunched up as her mother told the story of the princess and her beloved frog prince.
“The beautiful, gorgeous princess leaned in...” the older woman said dramatically, pausing to fill in suspense.
“Oh, N/n, here comes my favorite part!” Lucy said quietly, leaning in as she waited for the last few words of the story’s sentence.
“...and kissed the slimy green frog!” Mrs. L/n finished, a grin on her face as she watched the two girls react in their own ways.
Lucy was ecstatic (even if she had heard the story a million times), clapping as she squealed in happiness.
On the other hand, Y/n gagged, sticking her tongue out as her mother chuckled, looking away from the worn-out book. She put her hands on her hips and said matter-of-factly, “There ain’t no way I’d kiss a frog! It’s got germs and slime and eugh!”
Lucy giggled, “I’d kiss a frog! I’d kiss thousands and thousands of frogs if it would mean I’d become a princess! Look at him on the cover, N/n, doesn’t he look handsome?”
Y/n looked at the cover of the book. There was a picture of the kind-hearted princess and the handsome prince. Still, his good looks did not seem to sway her, as she still stubbornly said, “Still never gon’ kiss a frog!”
When the girl turned her head she saw Lucy put a green frog mask on her poor little kitten, holding him out to her.
“Oh, c’mon, N/n! Kiss him! Kiss him!” she laughed, chasing her friend around the room with the scared cat.
“Girls! Put him down, you might as well be giving him a heart attack!” Mrs. L/n scolded, taking the frog mask off of the scaredy cat.
At that moment, the door creaked open, revealing the tall figure of Mr. Edwards, a small smile on his features as he saw the two girls playing around.
“Good evening, M/n,” he greeted politely, great warmth and kindness radiating off of him.
“Evening, Lance.”
Lucy immediately dropped the dolls she was playing with and ran to her father, the man scooping her up in his arms as she cheered, “Daddy! Daddy! Oh- wait, Daddy, can I have a dress like that? Look at that dress!”
The blonde-haired girl pointed to the gorgeous pink dress the princess was wearing on the last page, her arm looped around the prince’s.
Mr. Edwards clicked his tongue, setting his daughter down. “Now, Lucy, we’ve been over this. Missus L/n and Y/n are done with their hours for today, and you’ve already got a dress-”
Lucy, the spoiled but sweet little girl, frowned when she heard her father’s words. Her brows furrowed in disappointment as she gave her infamous puppy eyes.
“Oh, Daddy, please? Please?” she begged sadly, Mrs. L/n watching, amused as she gathered her things and helped her daughter put her coat on.
Mr. Edwards was silent for a moment before sighing, giving in. He put his hands into his pockets and looked to Mrs. L/n. “M/n, it wouldn’t be too much to ask for, would it?” he asked almost sheepishly.
“Oh, not at all. Especially to my most best customer,” M/n grinned, her head tilting to the collection of gorgeous dressed all in the back of the room, their glitter and sequins shining in the house’s light. “But it’ll have to be started tomorrow. Y/n and I have to get going now. Goodnight, everyone.”
“Of course, of course. Goodnight, M/n. And goodnight to you, too, Y/n,” he nodded, leaning down to shake hands with the young lady.
“Bye,” she said in response, grasping her mother’s arm with the one that was not already occupied.
As she left, she could hear the useless scolding of Mr. Edwards, and soon the barking of a puppy and the squeal of joy coming from her close friend. Inside of her, it felt as if a stone was placed inside her heart.
***
Y/n stirred the pot of gumbo, her eyes barely looking at the contents inside since she was so short (even with the aid of the stool below her). She felt the heavy footsteps of her father coming in, standing beside her.
“Mm, mm, mmm! Smells good! What’re you making, sweetheart?” he grinned, savoring the smell of the food from where he stood.
“Gumbo, Papa!” Y/n answered. “It’s all finished now. You can taste it!”
Her papa took the spoon she handed to him, letting some of the gumbo fall into it. He was about to eat it, but looked at her, playfully skeptical.
“You sure this is finished?” he grinned, an eyebrow raised.
“Yep!” she answered, her hands on her hips proudly.
“Alright... weeeelllll, I’m about to taste... this... sou-”
“Wait!” the bright young girl said suddenly, getting down from the stool.
She looked through the contents of the shelf before pulling out the familiar bottle of red hot sauce. She added a few drops of it into her pot before placing it back on the counter, mixing it up again before saying, “Alright! Now you can taste it!”
Her father chuckled before tasting her creating, his face not reacting one bit. He was silent for a moment, his eyes on the pot. This made little Y/n nervous, her smile fading.
“Do you... do you not like it?” she asked anxiously.
“Darling, this is,” he began shaking his head before a smile broke out on his face. “the most amazing gumbo I’ve ever had! What a talented little girl I’ve got here, yeah?”
“You just noticed?” M/n snorted as she read the paper, a grin on her face as well as she looked up to see her daughter and husband in a tight embrace.
“Well, she can’t just keep her gift in the kitchen, now can she? We gotta tell the whole neighborhood!” F/n cheered, getting oven mitts to help take out the pot, M/n getting up from her spot to get her bowls and spoons.
Minutes later, the neighborhood was gathered around the L/n house, everyone chatting as someone played an upbeat tune from their harmonica. Everything was perfect.
***
“That was some good gumbo, wasn’t it?” F/n said, his voice low as he tucked his little girl into bed.
“Top of the class,” M/n agreed, kissing Y/n on the forehead.
“When I’m done with work, Y/n, you and I are gonna open a restaurant, yeah? Serve everyone everyday, making all the people happy with your special gumbo. How does that sound?” he hums, brushing her h/c hair out of her face.
“Like a good idea. You promise, though?” she said.
“Promise what?”
“That it’ll be our restaurant...”
“Oh, of course,” F/n chuckled.
The little girl suddenly sat up, her eyes catching on a new star in the sky.
“Look, Papa, Mama! A wishing star! Lucy said that, if you wish on a star, that your dream will come true,” she whispered.
F/n could only smile at her wonder. “You can wish on that star, N/n, but remember that it can only take you half the way there. You gotta remember to never lose sight of what’s important, and remember to work for what you want, too, yeah?” he murmured.
“Yes, Papa,” she nodded.
With that, her parents gave her one last goodnight and exited the room. Secretly, though, she wished upon that star, her eyes closed, hopeful and true. She wished her Mama and Papa would have eternal happiness, and that someday, just maybe, they’d get their restaurant.

Wow! First chapter! Hope you liked it so far. This is more of a filler, and the next parts will be better and more... exciting, I suppose.

Prologue
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
------------
Gloria rubbed her eyes. She had slept horribly that night before. Her dreams had been haunted with visions of that nightmarish creature she and Hop had stumbled across in the woods. Hop was fuming at her side. “Can you believe it?” he was saying. “Mum kept me home all night! Lee might be tryin’ to endorse us after we get this Pokédex, and she’s all, ‘you got to sleep, kid! You’ll run yourself ragged!’ The nerve!”
Gloria snorted in amusement. “Yes, how awful of her,” Gloria agreed, secretly glad Hop’s mother had done that. She had been exhausted and had wanted nothing more than to sleep for a while following their detour into the Slumbering Weald.
They then stopped just in front of the Pokémon Lab. Leon strode out from its automatic doors and grinned at them. “Get a good night’s rest?” he laughed. “Anyway, c’mon in!”
They eagerly followed him. Inside, the lab was gorgeous, Gloria thought. It had a pleasing, dark wood aesthetic contrasted against sheer white walls and tiles in certain areas. A library on the second floor stood proud, and machines littered the desks throughout the building. It was very open and welcoming.
“Yamp! Yamp-er!”
Gloria looked at the stairs just in time to see a bumbling Yamper struggle to get a grip on the hard wood floor, its claws scrabbling madly before finally catching some leverage, and it made a beeline for them. It bounced at their feet adorably, wiggling its yellow rear to wag its stubby tail for attention.
“That there,” Leon said in a mockingly dramatic tone, “is Sonia’s Yamper.” He ran a hand down from the Pokémon’s head to its back. “Such a cute Pokémon. Me and this Yamper go way back.”
“What about Sonia…?” Hop asked, looking genuinely bewildered.
“Oh, Sonia?” Leon seemed surprised. “Oh… she makes good curry, that’s for sure.”
“Oh, Lee!” a woman huffed at him. Gloria and Hop looked over at the staircase and saw that now a red-haired woman was standing there. She had her hands planted on her hips over a tan trenchcoat, and she looked none too amused by Leon’s little charade. “We were gym challengers together! Remember?”
“Oh!” Leon said loudly, slapping a hand to his forehead. “My bad, Sonia, I just have such a bad memory. So much to keep track of, bein’ champion and all.”
“I beat you once!” Sonia blurted out. Gloria laughed, and Hop gave a serious glare in her direction.
“That’s not funny! Nobody’s ever beat him,” Hop practically growled.
“In his professional career,” Sonia said and cast a wicked grin Leon’s way. “I beat you once~”
“That was my first battle after I got Charmander,” Leon said hotly. The cool playfulness had melted away.
“That’s more like it.” Sonia, seemingly satisfied at having miffed Leon, turned her attention to Hop and Gloria. “Now then, I assume you lot are here for a Pokédex, hm?”
Hop nodded, though it was clear he was struggling to keep from giggling at learning Leon lost to Sonia years and years ago. “L-Lee said that if we ever really want to become gym challengers, best to start with a Pokédex!”
“And right he is,” Sonia agreed. “You both have got Rotom Phones, yeah? If you’ll hand ‘em over for a sec, I can get them updated with the Pokédex.”
“We’re gonna have a Pokédex in our phones?” Gloria was mystified. “That’s so useful!”
“Right?” Sonia beamed. “Though, really it’s my gran who developed that. You lot should go thank her after this. She lives in a house just off Route Three. I’m just her assistant, really. She had me here cleanin’ up today.”
Sonia gently grasped their phones and carried them over to a desk with a laptop sitting open. It had enough cords spiraling out of its back to nearly obscure the fact it was a laptop at all. She plugged each phone in individually, would type a few things on the computer, and then wait. The phones would light up and Rotom would give a little bzzzrrt! of excitement. It would then lift the phones into the air, levitating around Sonia’s hair. “Yes, yes, you’re welcome,” Sonia giggled. “Now go home, ‘kay?”
The phones zipped back to their respective owners, and Gloria immediately checked out the new installation. The app was blank for now but had a massive list that could be filled out.
“There you go. That’ll tell you all you’d ever need to know about any Pokémon you catch, and even a little bit about ones you just see.” Sonia nodded encouragingly at them and smiled. Her smile vanished as she looked over Leon, though Gloria still felt like she wasn’t upset at him. “And you. Is that how are you goin’ to repay me for lettin’ you stay over last night? By actin’ like you don’t even know me this mornin’?”
“Aww, it was funny,” Leon teased. Hop and Gloria shared a look and snickered. He then turned his attention to his brother and Gloria. “Alright, let’s go, on to Route Three!”
“C’mon Lee, you got to endorse us! We got a Pokédex now!” Hop begged. Gloria just looked at Leon hopefully.
“Let’s go thank Magnolia, don’t be in such a rush,” Leon waved them off. “Now, ah… help me to Route Three, would you, Hop?”
Hop rolled his eyes and strode ahead of his brother. He had to admit, he was a lot more annoyed about being forced to wait for Leon’s response than he let on. “Sure, sure.”
 -------------------
Alright, Leon, after this, you’ve got to tell them point blank you’re not endorsing them this season, a voice was saying in the champion’s mind. You’ve got to stop stringing them and yourself along!
They had just arrived ahead of Magnolia’s house. It was the only one on this route, so at least, he hoped it was Magnolia’s house. Pants with directions, Hop’s words echoed in his mind. He rolled his eyes and smiled a little.
Leon knocked on the navy-blue door. “Just a second!” called a rattled, frail voice from inside. As they waited, a soft pnk! caught Leon’s attention. He glanced behind him and saw Hop bent over something on the ground. He picked it up and examined it in his palm.
“Lee, what is this?” Hop said, holding up two fragments of a purplish rock. It glowed a faint pink.
The door in front of Leon creaked open and a hunched over woman with salt and pepper hair looked out. She traced Leon’s line of sight and once she saw what Hop was holding up, brushed past the champion blithely, tugging his cape slightly off kilter as she did. Leon sputtered something after her, but she ignored it completely. He adjusted the cape and scowled after her.
“My child! That’s a Wishin’ Star,” she said.
“A Wishin’ Star?” Gloria echoed.
“Yes, a Wishin’ Star! They’re what Dynamax Bands get made with, what allow trainers to do that,” she nodded. “Lee, show them yours, would you?”
Leon was taken aback by how she ordered him around. He supposed he hadn’t been around Magnolia in quite some time. He stuck out his right arm and then pulled the white cuff around his wrist back to reveal a black bracelet that had a glimmering, violet stone like the ones Hop clutched tight in his palms. Once Gloria and Hop were finished gawking, he slid the white cuff back over it.
“Wow! And it landed right in front of me, too!” Hop was brimming with pride.
“They say when those fall for someone, that person’s dreams will come true,” Magnolia warned. “But if you hand those to me, I can fashion you and your friend here Dynamax Bands.”
“Awesome!” Hop exclaimed.
“Yes! Can you imagine, Hop? Bein’ able to Dynamax a Pokémon of our own?”
He hunched over slightly and curled his fingers into something that resembled claws. “Big Grookey!” he said, waving a hand at her as if to poke her like he was holding a stick.
“Ah, Magnolia…” Leon began. He was realizing a critical error he had just made. He had not told Magnolia before arriving that he didn’t intend to endorse either Hop or Gloria yet, and Dynamax Bands wouldn’t exactly be of much use to them before starting the gym challenge. But Magnolia was blissfully unaware of Leon’s predicament and seemed interested in keeping it that way, for she ignored him entirely and invited Hop and Gloria into her home. Leon followed halfheartedly, still trying (and failing) to get Magnolia’s attention.
“Now, now, Mr. Champion, it’s rude to interrupt,” she warned him. Her eyes glittered. She turned back to Hop and Gloria and held up two black bands in her other arm. “The Chairman developed these here bands, somehow the technology in them is able to draw out a certain energy from these rocks we call Wishing Stars. The rocks seem to have boundless amounts of it, so one Wishing Star could last a single trainer a lifespan of eighty years, and that’s if they dynamaxed three times a day from birth to death.” She shrugged and fit a stone into each band respectively before clamping them down over Hop and Gloria’s wrists. “Yet the chairman’s complaining about some power crisis in the future. That idiot,” Magnola chuckled at Leon.
“Magnolia,” Leon said through gritted teeth.
“Oh, Lee, you’ve just got to endorse us now!” Hop cried, practically bouncing up and down at his brother’s feet. “You’ve seen us battle, we’ve got Dynamax Bands, it fell at my feet, for Arceus’s sake! I can’t let you down now!”
“Oh, Lee!” Magnolia said, finally acknowledging him. Her eyes were still glittering in a way Leon couldn’t place, but he knew he didn’t like it. “Why won’t you endorse them? Worried about your brother comin’ for your throne?”
Hop pumped a fist in the air. “He’s right to be worried about that!”
Leon felt the blood draining from his face. “Magnolia, it’s—”
“Please?” Hop and Gloria both were begging now. Leon gave an audible groan, unable to look Hop or his friend in the eyes. He was still able to glare at Magnolia though. He was onto her game now. She had done this on purpose!
Leon shakily reached into a pocket in his pants where he kept prewritten recommendations. He had yet to ever use any, but kept them handy just in case he came across some truly astounding trainer. His palms were sweating a little as he handed Gloria one, and then his brother. Hop recreated Leon’s signature pose in frightening detail, his endorsement letter clutched in the hand he pointed to the sky.
“Yes! I won’t let you down, Lee! You’ll be seein’ me in the finals!” Hop declared, pointing at his brother. Leon just swallowed hard. Gloria was a little more reserved about her excitement, but he could see she too was thrilled in the way she trembled and her eyes practically glowed.
“Now, Hop,” Leon finally managed to find words through his dry as dust mouth. “I know you’ve got a tendency to obsess over little things, but you’ve got to let some of that go, okay? Gym challenge is about growin’ up and growin’ stronger. Poké Ball throws, striking poses, they’re all the theatrics, understand?”
Hop paused and gave a nod once Leon had finished. “Oh, I know, I just want to make you feel more confident in me! Gloria!” Hop whipped around to face her. “Let’s battle! Let’s show Lee he’s made a good choice!”
“You’re on!” Gloria grinned.
 -----------------
“You did all of that on purpose,” Leon accused Magnolia once Gloria and Hop had left. They had shown him a rightfully passionate battle, but Hop had once again been felled by his childhood friend. He had seemed to take it well, but the stuttering in his words had betrayed him.
“You’d have never endorsed the poor chap otherwise,” Magnolia said simply. “You doubt him and you’re overprotective. Arceus knows what you’re so afraid of, though. He can’t even get to the more dangerous areas on his own without the right clearances. We’re not stupid. Everyone knows gym challengers need some protection, both from the environment and themselves. That friend of his should keep him straight too.”
“But why’d you have to go and mention it in front of ‘em like that? Couldn’t we have talked beforehand? Ugh,” Leon put a hand to his forehead and sat in a chair that had been jostled next to a desk. “It’s not just that I’m worried about. Hop’s so… he just cares so much about everythin’. I just feel like he’s goin’ to get ripped to shreds out there.”
“There’s that overprotectiveness I was talkin’ about,” Magnolia smirked.
“Did I tell you about the Slumberin’ Weald? Those two bolted off into the Slumberin’ Weald to save a wooloo. A wooloo, Magnolia!”
“So? A Pokémon’s a Pokémon, Mr. Champion.”
“What if I hadn’t found ‘em?” Leon demanded.
“The only thing fatal about that scenario is the fact they had you and only you lookin’ for them,” Magnolia remarked scathingly. “You can’t find your way out of a wet paper bag, how on Earth did you find them in the Slumberin’ Weald?”
Leon sputtered in annoyance but couldn’t quite figure out just what he wanted to say. Probably because he knew she was right.
“Anyway, onto other topics. When are you goin’ to marry Sonia?”
Leon choked on the very air in his lungs. “Marry? Sonia? What are you on about now, woman?”
“I’m old, I’m not stupid, that girl’s into you and she’s doin’ nothin’ with her life as my assistant. Give her some purpose, would you?” Magnolia shrugged.
“Alright, Magnolia, it’s been great,” Leon said as he got up and pushed the chair under the desk. “I got to go do somethin’ champion over in Hammerlocke.”
“Like get hammered with your buddies?” Magnolia narrowed her eyes at him. “Is that why they call it Hammerlocke?”
“Magnolia, stop,” Leon laughed anxiously. He gave a weak wave in her direction. “Bye!”

@dragondartz SAID:            neo has found a wishing star! he’s very happy about his find, but is he going to keep it to himself? of course not! instead, he holds the small rock up to the mighty WORM, knowing that it fed off of them, and that it would certainly be pleased to get such a wonderful gift from his loyal...minion. with his hands up high, he presents the rock, calling to the mighty WORM, ❝ here you are, friend! a wishin’ star! and it’s all yours! ❞
Tumblr media
“ O’ MINNOW MINE, YOU HAVE BROUGHT ME TITHE AND I THANK YOU IN KIND. ”
THIS IS A FRAGMENT OF ITSELF. It knew that--its fecund flesh and symbiotic marrow was not the sum of its parts and the hatchling that squirmed from the egg lies in pieces as glass dashed against the rocks. A tragedy, it thought, but not one irreversible and not one that will not be allowed to repeat! The grand WORM greeted its most faithful and loyal supplicant again with a bow and flare of its mighty crest, the continental fan shifting upon itself as its spines flew in the cardinal directions.
SUPPLICANT, FRIEND, WHO COULD TELL! On that day certainly not Eternatus and nor did it care, for this existence was sustainable and for that, it gave praise. Ia!
Tumblr media
“ I CAN GRANT YOU SO MANY THINGS YOU DESIRE, O’ MINNOW MINE, AND I LIE NOT, FOR I AM THE HONEST WORM. ”
THE WISHING STAR VIBRATED IN NEO’S HAND and left his grasp, twisting in the air. Like a fluid its edges wavered and spiked and throbbed, a beating heart rather than stone. A heart, pulsing with such a powerful energy, how grand!
“ YOU HAVE SO MANY WANTS IN YOUR HEART, O’ DESIRED MINE. I CAN GIVE THEM TO YOU. YOU NEED ONLY WISH IT. “

Warnings: Angst and swearing
-
Hundred thousand for the chain and now my drop When I pull out the garage, I chop my top Just like a fiend, when I start I cannot stop I got, I got hella guap, look at me now -
Tom pulled into the garage of his flat, parking his new car and sitting in silence for a moment while he collected his thoughts. He could hear Tessa barking from inside, but Tessa was going to be the only one greeting him when he walked in. Ever since you left, he hated coming home to an empty flat.
It wasn’t the same without you.
- Covered in carats Mahogany cabinets I ball like the Mavericks Stable and stallions Massive medallions I finally had it But then you just vanished Damn, I thought I was savage -
Tom stepped into his flat. The first thing he saw was the award he had just won for Best New Actor. He thought back to that night. You had been so proud of him. He had been so happy.
He picked up the award and stared at it. But where were you now?
- All this stuntin’ couldn’t satisfy my soul Got a hundred big faces, but I’m still alone -
Tom placed the award down and walked into the kitchen. He had just finished a day of filming for the next Spider-man movie. He was always surrounded by people. People that adored him.
But none of them compared to you.
He looked in the living room, and found himself looking for you. But the only occupant on the couch was Tessa.
- Ayy, I would throw it all away I just keep on wishin’ that the money made you stay You ain’t never cared about that bullshit anyway I just keep on wishin’ that the money made you stay -
You and Tom had been together for almost two years. You met each other on set of Spider-man Homecoming, but you were just one of the sound directors. You had always thought Tom was cute, ever since he first arrived on set. But when Tom approached you and asked if you wanted to get coffee, you were head over heels for him.
You never expected him to come to you. He had Zendaya as a co-star why would he ask the sound girl out for coffee?
But he did, because he thought you were the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. He was taken aback by your beauty, and he knew he had to go and talk to you from the moment he laid eyes on you.
- You know I would throw it all away I just keep on wishin’ that the money made you stay -
Tom still had a picture of the two of you hanging on his living room wall. He had to tear his eyes away from it because it hurt his heart so much.
- Price went up, my price went up, we went our separate ways I just keep on wishin’ that the money made you stay, ayy, ayy -
The fame became too much for you. Every time you stepped out of your shared apartment, cameras were constantly in your face. People asked you if you were jealous of Tom and Zendaya’s relationship. They asked if you were going to go to the gym more. They asked if you were going to model.
It was as if your ordinary self, who you liked very much, wasn’t enough for them.
And you feared you weren’t enough for Tom.
- I don’t even wanna go home In a big house all alone (all alone) I don’t even wanna go home (no, no, no) I’ma try to call you on the phone -
Tom hated coming home to the empty apartment. He would rather be on set, working 24/7 than coming home to your empty apartment. You had moved all of your stuff out after the break up, and Tom felt like there was a hole in the flat and a hole in his heart.
He didn’t blame you. The fame was too much for him sometimes, he couldn’t imagine how it was for you.
But how he wished he could talk to you.
He missed your voice, he missed your face, he missed hugging you close. He missed holding you in his arms because he felt like he could protect you from the world.
He pulled out his phone and stared at your number for a moment.
- I would throw it all away I just keep on wishin’ that the money made you stay You ain’t never cared about that bullshit anyway I just keep on wishin’ that the money made you stay -
He hit call. He had to hear your voice again. You were like a part of him and without you, he didn’t even want to act.
None of it was worth it, if he couldn’t have you.
- You know I would throw it all away I just keep on wishin’ that the money made you stay (made you stay) Price went up, my price went up, we went our separate ways (separate ways) I just keep on wishin’ that the money made you stay -
The phone rang.
And rang.
And rang.
“Hi! You’ve reached (Y/N)! Leave a message.”
Tom’s heart sunk to the bottom of his chest. Even just hearing your voice on the answering machine brought back a wave of memories.
“(Y/N), it’s Tom. I’m sorry for calling, but I just needed to talk to you. I miss you so much, darling. I-I can’t do this without you-”
“Messaging system full,” the robot voice talked back to Tom, cutting him and his message off.
The phone call ended, and Tom stared at the screen in disbelief.
He closed his eyes and ran a hand through his hair. He tried to hold back the tears, but one of them escaped and slipped down his cheek.
Little did he know, on the other side of London, you sat on your couch and stared at your phone, at his contact, with a tear of your own falling down the side of your face.
You wanted to call him back.
But you knew you couldn’t.
You shut your phone off.
