Hi, it’s so hot here so can I request a winter scenario with Wanda and sick reader with the prompts "You’re going to catch your death out here.” Bless you… Bless you! Are you okay- bless you again!”.
I was thinking the Avengers are hosting a snow day for underprivileged kids at the compound. Reader has never seen snow in person, so she spends all her time making snow angels and getting in snowball fights with the kids. Reader wakes up the next morning with a really sneezy cold. Wanda shifts into fluffy caretaker mode, and the other Avengers are watching like, wow Wanda really loves her. ❄️🥰

“Wanda!” You smiled as you gently caught the wrist of your eager girlfriend just before she’d raced out of the door, “You need to wear these sweetpea, it’s too cold without them.” You murmured softly, taking the pair of pink gloves you’d shoved in your pocket earlier that morning and carefully pulled over her hands.
“Oh! But I won't be able to feel the snow now!” You could almost feel her whine, as stuck out her lower lip pouted up at you.
But you only shook your head fondly as you pulled a matching pink bobble head over her hair, “You’ll most definitely still feel it Wands, it’s just to stop you getting too cold. Okay?”
“Okay.”
You smiled at her, she was practically overflowing with excitement, “Alright sweetheart, go enjoy yourself. I’ll be out with some hot chocolate soon.”
Now you see, Wanda had never seen snow before. The blanket of pristine white powder that had fallen during the night, holding the land in its icy grip and the look on her face when she’d woken up that morning and taken in the view from the window was a look you’d never forget. Such pure excitement and rushing anticipation to experience it all.
Every year whenever it snowed, the Avenger’s liked to open up their campus to the kids in the local community. The wide-open fields provided not only a big, but also safe place for them to happily play. Parents had a temporary respite and the whole team grew their relationships with the community as a whole. Plus, the kids had fun too. It was a win, win.
During breakfast Wanda had practically been bouncing in her seat. They’d opened the field half an hour ago and there were already several kids putting in the work to make some snowmen. All she wanted was to go out there and join them as soon as possible. So as soon she’d finished eating the last of her waffles, she’d headed straight for the field.
You paused for a moment to watch the wonder on her face as she dove into the soft white snow, the wide grin on her face felt contagious as your own lip’s helplessly morphed into a soft loving smile.
“Right, hot chocolate.” You said to yourself, bringing yourself back to reality, stealing one last glance at your girlfriend in the snow - she’d laid flat on her back and had begun making snow angels after a little girl had showed her how.
You turned on your toes and headed back to the kitchen, taking out a stack of cardboard cups and making sure you had enough for everyone. Once you were sure, you began heating up the milk. Yes, you used milk. The debate of whether to use milk or hot water had been had way too many times. Sam insisted that you were meant to use hot water which had horrified you the first time you heard his claim. As you waited for the milk to warm, you stood up on your tiptoes to pull a fresh bag of mini marshmallows from the cupboard.
They were meant to be hidden in Natasha’s secret stash of snacks, but you figured she wouldn’t mind… as long as you placed them before she noticed they were gone. Once the milk had heated you added the hot chocolate powder and poured it into the cups, decorating each one with whipped cream and a generous sprinkle of the marshmallows. Perfect.
Heading back to the door, you called out loudly, “Kids! Who wants hot chocolate?” Receiving several loud squeals of excitement in response as they all turned and ran back inside to grab a cup.
They were all well-mannered and you smiled fondly as each child said a ‘thank you’ before taking their cup and racing back outside. After each cup had been taken you noticed that the large white mug, you’d made special sit sat on the side of the countertop. Wanda hadn’t even come inside for hot chocolate, you smiled to yourself at just how much she must’ve been enjoying herself before taking the cup, feeling its warmness sink into your hands before grabbing a scarf and heading out into the snow to find her.
Several other members of the team had also decided to join in on the fun and you couldn’t hold back a laugh as you saw Clint get pelted in the face by a snowball hurled by Natasha from several feet away. Tony also seemed to be enjoying himself, he’d apparently crowned himself leader of the 6-year-olds and they were all using his technology to build a huge igloo to play inside.
“Wands?” You called out as you got closer to your team members, to which your eyes widened in surprise seeing a familiar head of messy brunette hair pop up from behind a huge snow boulder that was apparently the base to a huge snowman that her and Steve had joined up to build.
“Wands!” You smiled but then her messy hair caught your attention, “Sweetheart, where’s your hat? Hm? I thought I told you to wear it.” You said - you would’ve put your hands on your hips, but you were still holding her mug, “Oh, and your gloves.” You added with a sigh as you realised, she was also missing her pink accessories.
“I’m sorry! They were just getting in the way, and I really wanted to just feel the snow.”
“And did you?”
Wanda beamed excitedly as she knelt down and picked up some snow, pressing it into a ball before holding it proudly, “Yes, look!”
How could you lecture her about keeping warm when she was just so cute. “Look what I brought you.” You smiled, remembering the chocolatey drink in your hands, “Here you go.”
To say her eyes lit up would be an understatement. They practically sparkled as she accepted the warm cup, her cold hands cradling the object as if it were the most important thing in the world. She took a sip and looked up at you, “Thank you baby.” She murmured, the gratitude in her voice clear.
You smiled back at her, “No problem sweetie, I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself,” You said, removing the scarf you’d put on earlier and gently wrapped it around her neck instead, to which she instantly snuggled against it, “But seriously, you’re going to catch your death out here if you don’t stay home so keep that on for me darling, okay?”
"She's really got you wrapped around her finger, huh?" Natasha smirked playfully as she walked past, and you didn’t notice the way her hand was suspiciously hidden behind her back.
You shot her a fake glare, "Well, when your girlfriend looks at snow like it's the most magical thing in the world, you'd do anything to make sure she stays warm and happy."
Wanda giggled, taking another sip of her hot chocolate, her eyes never leaving yours. The warmth in her gaze made your heart flutter, and you couldn't help but be grateful for these moments of joy. But your attempt of saving the moment was starkly stopped when you felt the sudden shock of feeling a freezing hold object hit the back of your neck followed by what could only be described as hyena laughing coming from the redheaded assassin a few yards away.
“Got you!” Natasha managed to say inbetween laughs.
“Oh, you are so on.” You smirked widely, cracking your knuckles before picking up your own handful of snow, “Come on, let’s get her Wands’.”
After a spirited exchange of snowballs, you all collapsed into the snow, breathless and grinning and as the evening settled in, the Avengers decided to wrap up the snow day festivities. The kids, rosy-cheeked and filled with joy, gathered around for a final round of hot chocolate before heading home. Wanda, still wrapped in the scarf you had given her, stood close by, she was a little quieter now, seemingly having used up all her energy during her day of fun and the small yawns she’d been trying to hide in your scarf was your sign she was probably ready for bed.
As the last of the kids said their goodbyes, you turned your attention back to Wanda. Both her cheeks and nose were slightly red from the cold, and she sniffled a little as she tried to suppress another yawn. You couldn't help but chuckle at her adorable exhaustion. She really did make that snow day worth it’s while and you were so glad that she enjoyed herself so much.
"Looks like someone had a lot of fun today," you teased, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
Wanda leaned into your side, nodding with a content smile. "It was incredible, Y/N, I've never experienced anything like this before. The snow, it was so cold but oh it was amazing! I loved it so much!”
You pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, sweetheart. Now, how about we get you inside and warmed up a bit? I’ve already put the fluffy blanket you like in the dryer, so it’ll be super warm for you.”
Before long, the two of you were cuddled up beneath the blanket on one of the sofas in the living quarters. Some cheesy reality TV show was playing on the big TV screen though you weren’t really watching, it was there for the benefit of Clint and Bruce who’d also joined the pair of you and were currently arguing over who was the best Kardashian – much to your amusement.
After some time, you noticed that Wanda's eyes were growing heavy as she snuggled against you. Her head rested against your shoulder, and her breathing slowed down. It was evident that the combination of the day's excitement and the warmth of the blanket was lulling her to sleep.
Gently, you lifted her in your arms and carried her to your shared bedroom. You carefully laid her down on the bed, tucking her in with extra care. Wanda mumbled a soft 'thank you my love' in her sleepy state, and you pressed a tender kiss to her forehead before heading to the bathroom to get ready for bed yourself. It didn’t take long and soon you were back to the bed and cuddled up under the blankets and falling asleep right beside her.
The next morning, you woke up to the soft morning light filtering through the curtains. You stretched lazily, feeling well-rested after the previous day's festivities. Turning to your side, you expected to see Wanda still peacefully asleep. However, you were met with a surprising sight.
Wanda was awake, sitting up in bed with a sheepish smile on her face. She held a tissue in one hand, and her nose was slightly red. It was then that you noticed a faint, adorable sneeze escape her, which she quickly tried to muffle with the tissue.
You couldn't help but chuckle at her adorable attempt to be quiet. "Bless you, Wands," you whispered, sitting up beside her.
She sniffled and rubbed her nose, giving you a sheepish smile. "Sorry, did I wake you up baby? I was trying to be quiet.” She sniffled again, however this time it didn’t have the intended effect, her breath hitching a little as her face shifted into an awaiting look of anticipation.
“Hh.. Hih-H’iiishu!”
“Bless you bab- Bless you! Are you okay?- bless you again!” Your eyes widened as your girlfriend couldn’t seem to stop sneezing, “Goodness sweetheart! Now you see this is why we wrap up warm when it’s freezing out. I think you’ve caught yourself a cold my love.
Wanda pouted slightly as scrunched up her nose, “Maybe just a little one but it was really worth it, I swear!”
“Oh of course, that seemed like just little cold.” You rolled your eyes at her stubborn nature before softening at the sound of her small pitiful sniffles, “I’ll tell you what, how about we have a cosy day in today?”
Wanda smiled, her grin dancing on her lips, “That sounds amazing pumpkin.”
“I’m glad it does baby, cosy day in it is then!”
So, the two of you, adorned in fluffy pyjamas, armed with a tissue box and the big, thick duvet from your bed settled onto the sofa again, snuggling down against each other before you handed Wanda the remote, letting her pick a movie to watch.
Wanda scrolled through the list of movies on the screen. After a brief discussion, you both settled on a classic romantic comedy – something light and heartwarming to lift Wanda's spirits. The movie started playing, and the soft glow from the screen illuminated the room.
As the movie progressed, you noticed your girlfriend’s eyes growing heavy, and her head slowly drooping onto your shoulder. The combination of the movie and the warmth of the blanket had lulled her into a peaceful slumber. You couldn't resist pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead before allowing yourself to succumb to the urge to nap right there with her.
Unbeknownst to you, Tony had been wandering around the living quarters, looking for something to entertain himself. As he strolled past your shared space, he couldn't help but notice the adorable scene unfolding on the sofa. There you were, wrapped in the oversized duvet, with Wanda nestled against your side, both of you sound asleep.
The genius smirked mischievously. Instead of waking either of you up, he simply pulled out his phone and took a quick photo... then a selfie with the two of you in the background – oh how he’d tease you both about this later -. before quietly asking FRIDAY to call Romanoff and Barton down to the living room.
Tony stood proudly, as if he had orchestrated the whole thing. “I didn't know they could be this sappy.” He teased quietly.
“Should we wake them up?” Clint whispered, not wanting to disturb either of you.
“Nah, let ‘em sleep. Wanda probably needs it, and Y/N will be grumpy if we wake them anyway.” Tony cautioned before sneaking away from the room.
Natasha, who had her own soft spot for romance, simply nodded in agreement. Before nudging Clint to take a closer look at how your hand was holding your girlfriend’s even in your sleep, "Looks like someone's got a touch of the love bug."

Playing pretend
Pairings: Wanda Maximoff x daughter!reader
age: 8
Summary: today was meant to be a very fun day for you, however when you wake up sick you try to hide it from your mama
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today was your favorite day of the week. It was lab day with Tony. None of the other avengers would want to spend a whole day locked in a lab with a genius, but you were also a genius. At the age of 8 you had earned your space in the avengers compound as a child progidy. You were even designing your very own suit. Nothing could go wrong today.
Except for the fact that you got sick. You woke up chilled to the bone, feeling like there was a block of cement in your sinuses and with an annoying tingle in your nose that made you want to-
“Hih’tiishiew!” you sneezed down your hands.
No, you couldn’t just miss lab day. Maybe if you put some makeup on Tony wouldn’t notice, maybe if you stifled your sneezes and coughs, maybe if no one touched your skin. Yeah, it couldn’t be that hard right?
“Miss L/N, Miss Maximoff requires your presence in the compound kitchen, your breakfast is ready.” Friday announced.
Oh crap. Wanda was your mentor and mother figure ever since you moved to the avengers compound at the age of 3, she was your mama and she loved you so much. She could understand what you were thinking without you needing to say it. Not because of her powers, she would never read your mind without permission, but because of the deep connection you two shared. So hiding the fact that you were sick from Tony was easy, however hiding it from Wanda would be difficult.
“FRIDAY? Tell mama i’m on my way- H’tsschoo! Hhup’tshiew!”
“Bless you, miss L/N. Your body temperature is currently at 38.4. I believe miss Maximoff should be alerted of your condition.”
“No Friday! i’ll be alright!! please don’t tell her!”
Hurrying up you put on your clothes, blew your nose and put on a little makeup, you were looking far from healthy, but it was better than nothing.
Entering the elevator you encountered Kate who was headed to training. The young archer was like a big sister for you and she immediately picked up that something was off.
“Good morning kitten, are you heading for breakfast?” Kate asked, joy clear in her words as she spoke to you.
“Yeah.” you said, lacking your usual bubbly energy.
“Well, a birdie told me that today is lab day, so you must be excited right?” She said, trying to lighten the mood.
“Yeah, it’s gonna be fun.” You answered bluntly.
Kate was about to point out how congested you sounded when you suddenly ducked your head in your elbow to contain a set of sneezes.
“Bless you Y/N! are you feeli-“
“Never better!! gotta go! bye Katie have a good day!”
Just as she was about to feel your forehead the door to the elevator opened. You knew she was just worried about you, but nothing could make you lay down today.
Entering the kitchen you got surprised by the fact that your mama had made you waffles. They were your favorite and she only made them on special days.
“Good morning detka, did you sleep well?”
“Good morning mama, is there something special today?”
“Well, you were so excited for your lab day that I decided to make you a little treat, did you like it?”
“Yes mama!! thank you so much!!”
While you were excited because of the waffles, you almost didn’t notice Wanda approaching you, and when you did noticed it was too late. Your fever clouded brain wasn’t fast enough to avoid the kiss on the cheek that she gave you every morning.
As soon as her lips touched your warm cheek, the smile Wanda had on soon turned into a frown and you knew there was no turning back now.
“Baby, you feel warm, are you feeling okay?”
You tried to answer properly however, your nose had other plans.
“I feel fi -Hh- fine -Hh’k-tshhiew! Heh’iiishiew! Hh..H..HHitsshiew!”
“Bless you Y/N!” She exclaimed, worry clear in her tone as she spoke, “I think you’re getting sick honey, I’m afraid we’re gonna have to postpone your day with Tony.”
“You’re overreacting! I’m fine!!” While trying to prove Wanda that you weren’t sick, your breath got caught in your throat, sending you into a harsh coughing fit.
“Calm down baby, just breathe.” Wanda began rubbing circles on your back. She could feel your lungs rattling with every cough.
As your fit ended, the witch looked deep into your eyes, a loving look that showed affection. “Y/N, I know how excited you were. I know you had plans for today and that you don’t want to cancel them. However, we need to get you feeling better, because you’re not gonna have much fun if you’re feeling yucky the whole time right?”
At the mentioning of canceling your plans, you could already feel tears pricking your eyes. “But mama, I can go! i’m not feeling that bad I swe-“ Your body betrayed you once more as you sneezed twice on your elbow, the action bringing another coughing fit.
With a swift of her hand, Wanda gave you a cup of water while rubbing your back. “Shh, drink it slowly detka.” As your coughing subsided she finally reached out to feel your forehead, feeling your raging fever.
“Jesus Y/N, you’re burning up love! please just lay down for me.”
“But I really wanted to go…” you said, your voice trembling both because of your emotions, and because of your chills.
“I understand your frustration. You can go once you’re feeling better. C’mon, i’m going to take care of you.” Wanda spoke tenderly. She effortlessly picked you up and your exhaustion made you lay your head on her shoulder.
Exiting the kitchen you both stumbled across Kate, who interrupted her training and came to check up on you.
“I think she’s got a cold, but she’ll be alright.” Wanda explained to the archer. “Call me if you need any help!” Kate offered, and you knew she would drop everything to take care of you. Luckily, all of the avengers loved and protected you and you felt safe around them.
In your hazy state, you only noticed you weren’t in your room when your mama placed you in her bed. “That’s your room.” You said with your already hoarse voice. “Yes baby, it’s going to be easier to take care of you here.” Wanda answered while rummaging in the bathroom looking for some medicine and a thermometer.
Retrieving everything she needed, Wanda walked back into the room only to find you in your adorable pre sneeze expression. Your breath hitched for a second before your body gave in to the itch, “Hh’tshh! Hh’itshhiew!”
“Can I say bless you now? I didn’t want to interrupt you.” She joked, her tone softening as she approached you, gently moving the hair which had fallen infront of your face and offering you some tissues.
You blew your nose and cleaned your hands before Wanda spoke: “I really need to take your temperature and give you some medicine, can you help me with that?” you nodded slowly, rubbing your eyes. Mama pressed a kiss to your temples as she slid the thermometer under your tongue.
It was only a minute before the device beeped. Reading the tiny numbers Wanda frowned, “39.2, that’s a bit too high, detka.”
you hummed, not really absorbing what was being said to you. The witch gave you a cup of Nyquil and some paracetamol before tucking you under the duvet and laying by your side.
As she massaged your scalp, you found that you couldn’t keep your eyes open anymore, before you gave in to your exhaustion you got closer to Wanda. “I love you mama, thank you for taking care of me.” you said as you closed your eyelids.
Giving one more kiss to your forehead, the witch answered: “I love you baby, mama will always take care of you.”
Spider-Girl gets heatstroke ft Wanda Maximoff and Natasha Romanoff
The sun bore down mercilessly on the city, amplifying the already stifling heat. Y/N Parker, also known as Spider-Girl, swung through the crowded urban landscape, her agile form navigating effortlessly between towering buildings. The snug superhero suit clung to her like a second skin, offering little reprieve from the oppressive warmth.
Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, and Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow, followed closely behind. The three made an unlikely but formidable team, each contributing their unique skills to the cause. Today's mission had brought them into the heart of the city, where the scorching heat seemed to amplify with every passing minute.
As they reached the rooftop where their target was supposed to be, Y/N's movements started to slow. The heat had become an almost tangible force, sapping her strength and leaving her feeling sluggish. Wanda exchanged a concerned look with Natasha, both recognizing the toll the weather was taking on their youngest teammate. Natasha was the first to say something about it over the comms.
Natasha - Kiddo, we need to take a break. It's too hot up here.
Y/N hesitated, her hand gripping the edge of the building for support.
Y/N - I'm fine!
Insisted the adolescent as her voice strained.
Wanda moved closer, placing a hand on Y/N's shoulder.
Wanda - You need to take care of yourself. This heat is dangerous. *frowns*
But Y/N, ever the stubborn teenager, shook her head.
Y/N - I can handle it. Let's finish this.
Natasha sighed, sharing a worried glance with Wanda. They pressed on, but it wasn't long before Y/N's movements became more laboured. Sweat dripped down her forehead, and her breaths were audible over the comms.
Wanda - We need to get her out of here.
The Scarlet Witch urged, her concern deepening.
Natasha grabbed Y/N's arm.
Natasha - Come on, baby. We're calling it a day.
Y/N resisted.
Y/N - No, I can't let them—
Wanda cut in, her voice firm.
Wanda - Your health is more important. The mission can wait.
Reluctantly, Y/N allowed herself to be guided away from the edge of the building. The trio found a shaded spot, but Y/N was insistent on finishing the mission even if she was already swaying slightly.
Y/N - I just need a moment...
Natasha - You need more than a moment. You need water and rest. *crosses her arms*
Y/N's stubbornness flared, and she pushed herself up.
Y/N - I can't let them get away. I can—
Her words were slurred, and her vision blurred. The next thing she knew, she was on her knees, the world spinning around her. Wanda and Natasha exchanged alarmed glances.
Wanda - Y/N!
Wanda cried out, rushing to her side.
Natasha activated her comm.
Natasha - We need an evac. Now.
Y/N tried to push herself up, but her limbs felt like lead. The last thing she heard before darkness claimed her was Wanda's worried voice calling her name.
______________________________________________________________
When Y/N opened her eyes, the world was a blur of white. She blinked, trying to make sense of her surroundings. The low hum of the quinjet's engines filled the air. She was lying on one of the benches, and her suit had been partially removed.
Y/N - Wanda? Natasha?
She croaked.
The two women appeared at her side, relief was evident in their eyes.
Natasha - You fainted detka, heatstroke.
Explained the Black Widow, her voice a mix of sternness and concern.
Y/N groaned, remembering the mission.
Y/N - Did we catch them?
Wanda smiled gently, brushing a strand of hair from Y/N's face.
Wanda - Yes, we did. But you scared us. You need to take better care of yourself, honey.
Y/N mumbled an apology, attempting to sit up. Natasha pressed her back down as she spoke firmly about their order.
Natasha - Rest, we'll be back at headquarters soon.
Wanda held a bottle of water to Y/N's lips, urging her to drink. The cool liquid was a balm for her parched throat. As Y/N sipped the water, Natasha began removing the rest of her suit to help her cool down.
Y/N - I can do that myself.
Protested the youngest weakly.
Wanda - You're in no condition to argue, my dear. *chuckles*
They worked efficiently, and the atmosphere was a mix of professionalism and genuine concern. Y/N couldn't help but feel grateful for the two women who had become her teammates and, in many ways, her surrogate family and mothers, in their own way.
Once out of the stifling suit, Y/N felt a wave of relief. The cool air of the quinjet was a welcome contrast to the oppressive heat outside. Wanda conjured a soft breeze, further easing Y/N's discomfort.
Natasha - You scared us back there, sweetheart.
Natasha admitted, her eyes intense.
Y/N - I'm sorry. I just wanted to finish the mission. *sighs*
Wanda placed a hand on Y/N's shoulder.
Wanda - There will always be another mission. But you only have one health and body for us to kiss, hug and give tickles. Don't jeopardize it for the sake of a mission. *tickles Y/N*
Y/N - Stopp- *giggling*
Natasha - Let her rest Wanda. It's okay lovebug *kisses forehead*
They lapsed into a comfortable silence, the hum of the quinjet providing a backdrop to their thoughts. Y/N closed her eyes, allowing herself to rest, knowing that she was in capable hands.
As the quinjet touched down at headquarters, Natasha and Wanda helped Y/N to her feet. She felt a little unsteady, but the support from her motherly teammates kept her upright.
Natasha - Promise us you'll take better care of yourself, babygirl.
Natasha said with her tone meaning business.
Y/N nodded, a genuine smile playing on her lips.
Y/N -  I promise, moms.
Wanda grinned, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
Wanda - And if you don't, we might have to resort to more drastic measures.
Y/N - Like what? *raises an eyebrow*
Wanda and Natasha exchanged a knowing look before simultaneously saying: Mama bear's voice, the head-tilt and the raised eyebrow.
Y/N burst into laughter, the sound echoing through the quinjet. As they exited the aircraft, a trio of superheroes ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, Y/N couldn't help but feel grateful for the bonds forged not just in battle but in the quiet moments of care and concern.
—————————————————————
Today was like any other day for y/n. She had to get up and go to work however this morning, it felt like she had been hit by a semi truck. Her limbs felt heavy, her head full, her nose stuffed, her body aches. She had gotten the bug that had been going around the kids at her daycare. The only problem being that she had to go in for numbers so despite feeling like garbage, she had a shower, got herself dressed, grabbed herself a coffee and pushed on with her day. Arriving at work, her boss (who also happened to be a best friend of hers) mentioned she looked rough and asked if she needed the day off. Y/n agreed however at the time, her bosses phone went off and her other co-worker called in to take the day off to do some schoolwork she had put off doing all weekend which left y/n there to cover her closing shift as well as her own mid shift.
She lasted the day before she trudged home and immediately swapped her work clothes for some sweats and a baggy shirt that belonged to Natasha before she balled herself up into her covers and fell asleep. A couple hours later she was woken by her boss, Talan.
“Hey kid. I need you to come in again tomorrow. Sorry, i feel bad but you know how it is with Tonya.” Talan said, receiving a soft hum from the girl on the phone as a response.
There was shuffle on y/n’s side before she heard a raspy voice. “Y/n will not be in for the next two days. I’m sorry but she needs to rest.” There was a click on the phone.
“Tasha…?” A groggy voice said causing Natasha to look down at the sleeping woman in front of her.
“Hi detka. Go back to sleep. I’m here. Wanda is just warming up the heating pad.” The red head said as she sidled into bed with her partner, causing the brunette to bury herself into the muscular arms of her girlfriend.
She got woken up not long after to someone rubbing her arm softly. “Detka… you need to wake up to take some meds…” She heard a voice whisper in a soothing Sokovian accent.
“No… sleepy…” Y/n mumbled burrowing herself further into the Russians arms trying to escape Wanda.
“I know detka once your done, you can sleep all you want… open wide…” Wanda soothed, slowly coaxing the sick woman into looking up at her with a pitiful look and a small whimper. “There’s my pretty girl…” Her finger soothed the wrinkled skin between her eyebrows, slowly releasing the pout she had been given. “Put away your pout detka… oh wow… you’re burning up…”
A grumbled noise came from y/n before they both heard Natasha chuckle softly. “Listen to witchy moya lyubov. You know it’ll help…”
“Open your mouth… there we go…” The witch helped the daycare worker take the meds before releasing her to go back to sleep. “All done malyshka. Now it’s time to sleep.” She laid back down with the woman and all three fell asleep quickly.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Waking up to fresh snowfall brought different reactions for everyone. Some felt joy upon seeing their ordinary world coated in white, they loved the whimsy that came with the weather. To others it was more frustrating. It was a chore that had to be dealt with as early as possible to make room for the day. You fell into the latter category.
When you woke up on what was supposed to be a lazy Sunday morning you were less than thrilled to see a blanket of snow covering the yard, driveway and cars. It wasn’t like you didn’t enjoy the snow, you loved watching it fall in large fluffy flakes and every so often you would have a snowball fight with the avengers. Really you loved the snow, but you hated the cleanup. You hated it more with a stuffy nose and a dull ache in your body that clearly indicated that you were getting sick.
There was this little competition among the heroes about who could shovel the most snow, it was their way of turning a chore into a fun workout. You didn’t find it nearly as fun as them. You would rather just get the damn job over with without all of the smack talk and teasing, but they insisted on it.
Wanda had gotten so tired of their antics that she’d dubbed herself ‘maker of the hot coca’ to get out of it. Natasha loved it, she felt great when she could beat the superhumans at anything and generally just enjoyed competition. You participated only because you were a relatively new member of the team (compared to the others) and didn’t want to make yourself look weak.
Staring out at the vast expanse that was the Avengers Compound driveway you couldn’t help but feel a bit of self-pity. You had just woken up and you were already feeling awful. Your nose was so stuffy that you couldn’t breathe through it, but it was also running. Your throat burned every time you swallowed, and you were sure that the cough that would be coming would make it hurt even worse.
It wasn’t like you had much of a choice though, you could hear Steve beginning to yell at everyone to get up and dressed for 20-degree weather. With a harsh sneeze you began to get ready, pulling on the warmest clothes you could find which included doubles of everything. Even with the two layers you were shivering hard, unable to get warm.
You stared at yourself in the small mirror, studying the dark smudges under your eyes and the sickly pallor of your face. Your nostrils were already rimmed red from rubbing them and your lips were badly chapped. Whatever this was it was hitting fast and hard.
A loud knock startled you out of your daze and back into reality. You shuffled to your door, hindered by the extra layers and your own dizziness. Opening it revealed an excited looking Steve with a big smile on his face and wearing winter clothes.
“You ready Y/n? It looks heavy!” He greeted, grinning at you. His joyful tone was baffling, but you were determined to prove yourself as an individual with no powers and far less experience than the others.
“Lets do this.” You croaked, confirming that you sounded as bad as you felt. Steve’s eyebrow twitched and his expression morphed into one of concern, but you brushed it off with a quiet cough and a smile.
“Sorry, my throat is a little dry. I think I need to talk to FRIDAY about increasing the humidity in here.” You said, offering an easy explanation for what could easily be a fluke. The cough had done wonders to clear your throat and you didn’t sound quite as awful. A bit nasally, but not like death.
Cap nodded enthusiastically, too focused on the idea of what he was sure would be an intense workout to really notice the state you were in. If you said you were fine, he was in no place to question you.
“Lets do this!”
You grabbed your coat and followed the superhero out of your bedroom where you practically ran into a very tired looking Wanda. The witch wasn’t sure why it was so important for her to be awake as she was only making cocoa for everyone, but the boys had refused to give her peace.
When she saw you, her eyes went wide, and you couldn’t help the blush that spread across your cheeks. The way she looked at you with worry and love, it was just something you’d never seen before meeting her.
When you first joined the team, she had been incredibly kind to you, she’d understood your fear and done everything to make you feel welcome. It hadn’t taken long for you to fall head over heels for her. Thankfully she could read your mind otherwise you never would’ve gotten the courage to ask her out.
“Y/n, are you okay? You look…not great.” She said softly, not wanting to attract the attention of anyone else. You smiled again and nodded slightly, wondering if she could tell that you were lying. You had always been good at it, but you knew that she could sense emotions without trying if they were strong enough.
“I’m fine. I just woke up, that’s it. Will you put marshmallows in my hot cocoa?” You asked, leaning in to peck her on the cheek. The brunette hummed quiet concern, but nodded after a moment and squeezed your hand.
“Of course, baby. Come inside if you need a break, okay? No need to put yourself at risk for a chore, it will get done.” She kissed you, her soft red lips brushing gently against yours. You did the best you could to return the kiss, but it was everything you could do not to fall apart. The last place you wanted to be was outside in the freezing cold, you wanted to be with Wanda who was comfortable and warm. Later you’d find yourself wishing that you gave into that want.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
A chesty cough bubbled from your lips as you threw another shovel full of heavy wet snow over your shoulder, but this time you did nothing to suppress it. You no longer cared if someone heard you, you were tired and cold. It had been two hours of moving piles of incredibly heavy snow and you were barely halfway done.
Natasha glanced over at you but said nothing. She’d been watching you deteriorate for a while now but didn’t want to force you inside when you were being so stubborn. She had internally decided that if you didn’t go in soon, she would get Wanda to come get you.
 The boys were getting even more competitive as they got bored, and Clint had started throwing snowballs. You were thankful that you were on the other side of the driveway away from that nonsense.
One thing your slightly feverish brain hadn’t considered was that the others might retaliate. What had started as one man throwing a few snowballs had turned into a full-blown snowball fight in less than a minute. You tried to avoid your teams’ antics and just continue with the snow removal, but it was too late for that.
Before you could think to react one very well packed snowball slammed you in the face and another hit the back of your head. You froze as icy slush slid down your back and chest, bypassing your jacket to soak into your soft cotton undershirt. You stared at Steve who had thrown the one that hit your face with an expression of shock and anger that was barely masking tears.
You threw the shovel down and whipped around, a wave of spots dancing in your vision as you began to march back toward the front doors. You glared daggers at Clint who had thrown the other snowball and flipped them both off as you trudged your way through the snow, hot tears beginning to drip down your freezing cheeks.
When you got inside you didn’t even bother taking off your boots, you just stomped through the foyer and to the elevator, pushing the button you knew would get you to the kitchen and your girlfriend.
“Mx. Y/l/n, your vitals indicate—”
“Shut up FRIDAY.” You snapped, coughing aggressively into your elbow as you waited the few seconds for the elevator to get to your floor. You didn’t care what the AI had to say, you knew that you were sick, and you were so angry that all you really wanted to do was scream.
When you finally made it to the kitchen the snow had begun to melt. You stood in front of Wanda dripping and shivering, doing everything you could to keep yourself from sobbing.
“Oh love, you’re freezing.” The brunette breathed, shaking her head as she rushed to comfort you. She began to take off your coat and you just let her. The tears coming faster as her aura of compassion washed over you, reassuring you that you weren’t alone.
The young Sokovian woman set your coat on a chair and pulled you in for a hug, giving you silent permission to break down. You did just that and buried your head in her shoulder as you began to sob out your frustration at the world. Wanda held you like that, crying coughing and sneezing for probably five minutes before she pulled away, seeming not to care that you’d ruined her shirt.
“Come on Y/n/n, let’s get you in bed.”
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
When she said that you expected to be brought to your bedroom, but instead you found her leading you to hers. Once there she helped you change into her softest pajamas and tucked you into her bed without a second thought.
The whole thing happened so fast that your fever clouded brain barely had time to catch up when Wanda left you alone only to return a moment later with a mug of tea.
“Here you go sweetheart. Drink this for me, it’ll warm you up.” Wanda said gently, pushing a mug into your hands. She had never made you any cocoa, she knew that you were getting sick and decided that tea would be best.
“Thanks.” You rasped, not sure what else to say. You’d never really been taken care of before and being sick around your girlfriend was strange. The relationship was still on the newer side, so you were worried about doing something wrong and messing it up.
The witch kissed your forehead and took her seat beside you on the soft bed. She wrapped a blanket around your trembling shoulders and made quiet noises of concern as she fussed, something you found yourself enjoying. It was nice to feel cared for and she did it better than anyone else.
“How about we watch a show while you warm up?” She suggested reaching for the remote on her bedside table. You nodded silently and wiped your nose on your sleeve, your throat hurt, and you weren’t really up to talking anymore. Wanda tilted her head at your action and placed a box of tissues in your lap with a little smile.
“Use these instead.” She directed, turning her attention to the TV. You obliged and grabbed a tissue to blow your nose which was definitely better than just wiping it.
Wanda flipped through channels and began to play with your hair as she did so, dragging her nails in patterns across your skull. The effect was amazing, you instantly felt calmer and settled against her even more, practically melting into her side.
You focused your eyes on whatever show she had put on; it was brightly colored and animated. It didn’t really matter to you what she decided to watch, you were too sick to pay attention to it.
You took a sip of the hot tea, relishing the way it soothed your throat and warmed your insides. The snow had been hell, but you were finally able to relax thanks to your amazing girlfriend. You vowed silently to repay the favor the next time she got sick and go above and beyond to take care of her the same way she was doing for you.
Warnings: sickfic/worry
Summary: With Wanda and Natasha returning from a mission you tried to hide just how sick you felt.
---
It was finally Friday, you had been waiting for today for what felt like ages. The reason for you being so excited was because both Wanda and Natasha were getting back from their mission today and you had been so down with being alone away from them that they had promised you a date when they returned and today was finally the day!
Unfortunately you awoke with what felt like 100 tonnes of concrete weighing your body down. Your throat felt like you were swallowing glass and the only way you could describe the headache you currently had was that it felt like it was getting crushed by the hulk.
Despite how bad you felt there was no way that you were going to miss out on a date with your girls, you were just going to have to hide it. That being better said than done.
You currently had 30 minutes until Wanda and Natasha would be back so you had 30 minutes to make it look like you weren't feeling like a walking corpse.
You had decided on a simple yet nice outfit for their return a pair of your nicest jeans and your warmest, cutest white jumper. Getting dressed had surprisingly taken more energy than you had guessed as now you not only were swaying on your feet, you were struggling to hold yourself up.
After applying the quickest makeup that you have ever done you slowly made your way to the kitchen where you heard the two women talking. Hearing their voices for a moment made all of your worries fade away, you were no longer focusing on the warmth seeping out of your skin or the banging of your head, you were focused on the two most important people in your life.
“Hey baby, oh god i missed you so much!” Not long after walking into the kitchen you were engulfed by Wanda’s strong frame, inhaling her perfume that you loved oh so much. “Ok my turn” not long after that hug you were spun around into the other love of your life.
“I missed you guys so much, i cant believe your back” as much as you tried to hold in your emotions the ball in your throat and the tears stinging your eyes slowly won as the tears made their way down your face as you looked into Wanda and Nats eyes.
“sweetheart don't cry, we're here now” as Wanda said this she brought your face into the palms of her hands while simultaneously becoming worried at the heat radiating from you.
“Oh god Natasha feel her head she’s burning up” at the sudden worry coming from Wanda you jumped back forgetting that you were trying to hide how bad you truly felt, all you wanted was to be with your girls.
As you jumped back however your last bit of strength also went, sending you almost collapsing to the ground had it not been for Natasha’s quick reflexes catching you before you could. “Woah it’s ok, I've got you darling, why didn't you tell us you were sick?” She questioned while picking you up bridal style and carrying you to your shared room with Wanda walking next to the two of you with her hand not leaving your’s.
“I didn't want to ruin our date, I just wanted to be with you two, i missed you both so much” At your confession you couldn't help but start to softly cry. With you now laying in the middle of the bed with Wanda and Natsha on either side they could now see just how weak and sick you were.
“Baby, we don't need to go on a date to spend time with each other” with that statement and Wanda’s hands running through your hair it had you calming down bit by bit. “What do you say you let us take care of you sweetheart, that and you can have all the cuddles your heart desires” you didn't even have to spend any time debating Nat’s deal you knew what you wanted and that was Wanda and Natasha and close as you could possibly have them.
After having your temperature taken, taking your medicine and being tucked into bed being cuddled by both women you realised you were the luckiest women on earth and that nothing could beat being cuddled by your favourite people in the world.
Hello! I'd like to request "your not exactly a good patient" with WandaNat. Thank you so much!
You're Lucky I Love You
Tumblr media
⁀➷ Pairing: WandaNat
⁀➷ Notes: Thank you so much for the request! I hope this suffices :D sidenote - I love WandaNat so much
⁀➷ Summary: Wanda isn’t a good patient when she’s sick.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*'
“I told you to wear a coat.” Natasha rolled her eyes teasingly down at her girlfriend stirred restlessly, tossing and turning as she tried to get comfy.
Wanda sniffled pathetically, trying her best to glare through feverish-glassy eyes, “I’m-,” Her raspy voice caught in her throat, causing her to cough and splutter a little, “I’m fine.”
“Of course you are lyubov’,” The redhead sighed before shaking her head and tsk’ing in disapproval, “Thats exactly why you sound like death and have the chills, right baby?”
Wanda could do little more than roll her eyes - even though the action alone seemed to make the pounding in her head worsen tenfold. She couldn’t exactly argue, after all her girlfriend was right.
She’d been the one to offer to go and run down to the shops to pick up some essential groceries when they’d ran out a few days ago. It had been raining heavily most of the day and even though the pair would usually wait it out to be able to go together in better weather, Wanda had been wanting to cook for them tonight and she had been missing the key ingredients.
Natasha had kissed her cheek before she left, offering to go out herself but Wanda had insisted so the redhead had warned her to make sure to wear a coat.
She hadn’t…
In her defence it had stopped raining and well, she thought it’d stay that way… It didn’t. Leading her to come home a short 10 minutes later absolutely drenched to the bone.
Of course Nat had shaken her head and teased her with a very smug “I told you so” before ushering her off into a hot shower but despite getting warm and dry as quickly as possible, Wanda had still found herself waking up with a cold a few days later.
And Wanda wasn’t exactly the easier to look when she was ill either as Natasha had soon come to find out.
“I feel like I've been hit by a truck," Wanda echo’d in a whine for what must’ve been the forth time that hour.
"Well, that's what happens when you refuse to take medicine isn’t it?”
Wanda shot her a mock glare before succumbing to another fit of congested coughing to which Natasha handed her a tissue and raised a questioning eyebrow.
"Can you at least try to cover your mouth?" She’d sighed, “As much as I love you, I’m not catching your cooties.” Nat made the symbol of cross with her fingers and held it out infront of her.
The response she got was little more than an annoyed huff from the fever flushed witch.
“You sure I can’t convince you to take some medicine sweetheart? It’d make you feel a whole lot better.” The redhead offered, letting her hand fall onto her girlfriends back to rub comforting circles down her spine.
But despise the offer, Wanda still shook her head and grumbled weakly, "I can take care of myself." Small sniffles punctuated her words, and she attempted to sit up, only to be gently pushed back down by Natasha's firm hand.
Natasha smirked and rolled her eyes, "Sure, you're doing a great job so far." She reached for the thermometer on the bedside table and handed it to Wanda. "Humor me and take your temperature?”
Wanda sighed but obliged, muttering, "This is so unnecessary." As she waited for the reading, Natasha had gone to fetch a bowl of hot soup from the kitchen - just a little something she’d fixed up earlier that afternoon when Wanda was loudly snoring away, asleep the sofa after bolding stating that she wasn’t at all tired a few minutes prior.
"You're a terrible patient," Natasha laughed to herself as she returned back to the room to see her girlfriend glaring daggers at the thermometer as if a nasty look would change its reading.
“What’s in the bowl?” Wanda sniffled, finally noticing what her girlfriend had been holding.
The corner of Nat’s lips quirked up into a playful smile, “Well I heard there was a miserable girl could needed some soup… but I couldn’t find one so you’ll have to do instead.”
Wanda only pouted in response, looking more like a sulking child than a powerful witch.
"I can't help it if I'm a bit difficult when I'm sick," Wanda mumbled, accepting the warm bowl as Nat sat back down on the edge of the bed, watching over her with an amused glint in her eyes.
"Difficult is an understatement," She chuckled, brushing a strand of hair away from Wanda's clammy forehead. "But I wouldn't have it any other way."
Travel Troubles.
Prompt: Sick in an Inconvenient Place
Pairings: Wandanat x R
Word count: 1.1K
Summary: Sickness doesn’t care where you are. You get sick but your girls are there for you.
TW: vomiting
A/n I suck at grammar. So there are like three commas in this lol. Plus I typed it with one hand because I’ve hurt my other arm :(
Wanda had been begging you and nat for months now and you had finally caved. You were going to the beach for a few days. You were actually pretty excited to be spending some quality time with your girls so when you woke up the morning you were suppose to be leaving feeling like you had been punched in the stomach you groaned and shrugged it off. Luckily most of the day was going to be spent in the car.
Dismissing it as your usual cramps after your period you stuffed your duffle-bag into the car, opting for the backseat so you could starfish across the leather seats. All seemed well for the first two hours, the car seemed to be getting hotter though. And the pain in your stomach began to increase. Nausea set in around hour five. Curled up in the backseat in a ball Wanda shot nat a look.
<shes acting weird nat do you think shes ok?> she asked in Nat’s mind.
<if she needs us she well tell us>
<we both know that’s not true> Wanda shot back
You were in too much pain to notice the silent conversation. Your face pressed against the cool glass of the window. It was way too hot in the car.
“y/n/n what do you want for lunch, Natty’s getting us maccas.” When all she received was a groan she frowned. Being stopped at a red light Wanda unbuckled climbing into the backseat despite Natasha’s protests.
“y/n/n?” she asked running a hand through your sweaty hair. She frowned placing the back of her hand to your forehead. She gasped. “natty shes on fire” you whined when she pulled her cold hand away from your flaming skin.
“oh bug why didn’t you tell us you didn’t feel good sweets?” muttering something unintelligent you flopped against her. Chuckling slightly she pulled you closer.
“natty can you get her an ice water from maccas?”
“sure.”
Pulling into the drive through the nausea only worsened at the smell of greasy food. Wanda noticed the colour drain from your face. Rushing she seemingly pulled a sick bag from thin air with her magic, guiding it under your shaking chin as your breakfast reappeared. Nat tried not to frown at the gagging noises coming from the backseat as she ordered for the three of you. Asking Wanda if you were ok when she had finished ordering.
“I’m not sure natty shes a bit too warm for my liking and joined with the vomiting I don’t want her to get dehydrated. Did you order the water?”
“yes. We’ll keep an eye on her temp, I can stop of at the chemist for a fever reducer and thermometer if you like?” Wanda nodded her agreement chewing on her lip as she brushed back your hair as you laid against her thigh in a fever induced haze. She had used her magic to rid the bag of sick and had a fresh one on hand if you needed it again.
After a quick stop, nat returned with the goods and Wanda fed you the tablets passing the water to you and holding the straw to your lips. Your eyes were glazed and your body ached.
“oh sweetheart. You really don’t feel good do you love?” nat asked looking at your shaking body. You whined like a child in response too tired to form proper words. Wanda tapped your cheek, using her thumb to tilt down your chin and open your mouth. She slipped the thermometer inside and waited for it to beep. When it did she removed it guiding your head back to her lap before looking at the number. Wanda hummed her disapproval upon seeing the flashing screen.
“what is it love?”
“102.8 too high for our sweet angel hmmm” she ran her hands through your hair again, rubbing your back to help you rest.
“that doesn’t sound good baby.”
With about a half hour to go, your eyes flew open, Wanda startled by your sudden movement pulled you upright, shoving the bag under your chin just in time as what small lunch you had spilled down you chin. With a choked sob, you continued to throw up. “shhh baby your ok. Your ok” Wanda cooed, still holding the bag. When you stopped Wanda waved her hand replacing the bag with her magic and guiding you back to her lap where you fell back into a fitful sleepy fever induced haze. Wanda took your temperature again slightly happier with the number but it hadn’t lowered by much. It would be a matter of a cold shower when they reached the cabin. You were silent the rest of the trip there save for fevered mutterings and the occasional groan. When you finally pulled in, Wanda peeled you off her lap. Passing you to nat who held you bridal style as Wanda climbed out and unlocked the door. Heading straight for the shower you were stripped of your clothes whining at the ice cold air on your fevered and flushed skin. Wanda guided you to the shower practically holding you up as the water ran over you. Despite your struggling she didn’t once let go as she held you and nat washed your body clean of the sweat that had soaked your clothes.
“shh love its ok” she cooed stroking back your damp hair from your face
After the shower from hell, as you called it, nat and Wanda dressed you in fluffy
PJs before carrying you to the bed and putting the sick bag on the bedside table. Your girls snuggled up with you.
“what about the car. We need to unpack” you yawned.
“don’t worry your pretty little head about it love your far more important.”
“plus I can use my magic to unpack it from here love” Wanda stated.
“okay” you sighed curling into Nat’s shoulder as Wanda wrapper her arms around you.
“goodnight sweetheart.” Nat cooed, stroking your hair back.
“night wands. night Tasha. Love you guys.”
“good night love. We love you too. Now sleep baby.”
You knew you had picked up some sickness at the ice-skating rink a couple of days ago from one of the kids there, which only made you more frustrated by being mad at the parents who let their sick children go out in public and make everyone else ill.
But with all the work you had to do, handling holiday shopping, card making, your job, and a partridge in a pear tree, you knew that your perseverance wasn't going to let you take a rest.
Lucky for you, you had the hottest nurse in town to take care of you, and you also knew that she would be the one to push you back into your bed.
"Dekta? Are you alright? You've been coughing a lot," Wanda asked, walking up to you and immediately placing her hands on your face and neck, feeling your heated forehead.
"I-I'm fine baby, don't w- Achoo! Don't worry-" You sniffled, breaking out into another sneezing fit, gripping the edges of your blanket that kept you warm from how cold you were.
"Well, I'm going to worry. You're burning up, sneezing uncontrollably, and all bundled up as if you're in Antarctica!" Your girlfriend replied as she went to grab her thermometer from the closet next to the bathroom.
"I told you I was fine Wands," You groaned, putting your head in your hands as the redhead fussed over you.
"You certainly don't look like someone fine, Y/n-" She rolled her eyes, turning you around to face her as she stuck the stick in your mouth.
"B- Mmph!" You said in a muffled voice, looking down at the thermometer before looking back up at your girlfriend with a glare. "I don't like you..."
"Shush Dekta-" Wanda quieted you, pressing a finger to your lips once she had taken the instrument out of your mouth. "101," She sighed, looking at you with concerned eyes. "You need to get back to bed,"
"I can't, you know that!" You replied, "I have so much to do. A little fever isn't going to stop me!"
"Then I will," Your girlfriend said sternly, picking you up in a swift motion before walking you to your shared bedroom. "Stay here, and I'll be right back. Don't move-" She instructed you before leaving the room as quickly as she entered it.
You sighed, plopping down onto your pillow as your body decompressed, your arms pulling a blanket over you for any inch of relief for your cold body.
"Stupid flu," You mumbled, grabbing a tissue box for your nose, too tired to get up and throw the used ones away. "Why don't you just make your kids stay home?"
You lay there in misery, cuddling up against your blanket like a child clinging to their mom through sniffles and coughs.
"I'm back sweetheart," Wanda smiled softly as you noticed her figure appear through your half-open eyes, hearing her lowering her voice to make sure your head didn't hurt from her volume.
"Hmm..." You hummed, taking one of your girlfriend's hands in your own. "Missed you,"
Wanda chuckled, kissing your forehead to check the temperature once again before handing you some medicine.
"Take these, okay Dekta?" The redhead cooed, handing you the pills and some water, watching as you took it and made a face.
"Ew- I thought pills weren't supposed to be icky..." You groaned.
"I'm sorry baby," The green-eyed girl in front of you smiled sympathetically. "I know they taste bad, but you did good by taking them,"
"Wands, you don't need to take care of me, I ca-"
"But I want to, I like making sure you're alright," She chuckled, reassuring you by gently placing her hand on your chest to keep you down on the bed.
"Alright bu- Achoo!" You sneezed once again, rubbing your reddened nose as you grabbed a tissue to blow your nose.
"Come here baby," Wanda smiled, kissing the top of your head before pulling you into her lap, allowing you to rest your head on her shoulder.
"No, I'll get you sick!" You protested, weakly pulling yourself away.
"I got my vaccine, and I already had it earlier this year, I'll be okay. Please don't worry, I'm alright,"
"You sure?" You whimpered.
"Yes, Dekta. I have a strong immune system, and I'll shower extra deeply," She pressed a kiss to the tip of your reddened nose.
You laughed, wrapping your arms around her waist as a replacement for a blanket.
"I feel like a baby," You giggled before sneezing yet again.
"You're just sick. We're all big babies when we're sick," The older woman chuckled.
"I'm just really sorry I got sick..." You said, looking up at your girlfriend with an apologetic expression present on your features that only made the redhead laugh.
"Dekta, it's not your fault," She assured you, patting your head with a smile. "Now, why don't you go to bed and try and get yourself feeling better, okay?"
You nodded; your eyes fluttering shut as you lay in the arms of your love, your thoughts and fears fading like they always did whenever you were with Wanda.
Hey! I have a request. Could you write something where Wanda has been a bit stressed with work, and R had the flu. R doesn't want to add to Wanda's stress, so R hides their sickness. R has to go and do something outside for whatever reason (even though Wanda protests) and when R comes back in, their so delirious and out of it, they tell Wanda they feel sick, even though they don't really know what's going on. Thank you for your time!
Wanda had spent the last few days battling a nasty case of the flu. She had been feeling weak and achy and was fighting a fever which just wouldn't break, no matter how hard you tried. But she was finally starting to feel better and had even managed to drag herself into her online work that morning. Unfortunately, she’d quickly realised that she was behind schedule on her reports. For some dumb reason Fury had decided to shorten the deadline and now she was quickly running out of time to complete them all.
She tried to focus on her work, but her head was still a bit fuzzy from the fever. She kept having to stop and reread things, and it was taking her twice as long as it should have. She could feel her stress levels rising as the clock ticked on and her to-do list seemed to be getting longer rather than shorter. And despite your best efforts to keep her calm, every little thing only seemed to add to the growing pile of stress pressing down on her. That was probably why you hadn't even registered the aching feeling in your bones, you were far too busy.
But as the day went on, you couldn't ignore the sick feeling that was slowly creeping up on you. Your head was starting to throb, and your throat was beginning to feel scratchy. You tried to push through it, but every time you stood up to grab something, you found yourself feeling dizzy and disoriented.
Around noon you'd decided to make some tea and that's when you'd first noticed it, the weakness in your arm as you went to lift the kettle. That’s when it really clicked for you that you were getting sick, and you had to stifle an annoyed groan. Of course you’d caught it from her. Just great... But it wasn't exactly like you had the time to dwell on it – if you did you’d only end up alerting Wanda to your condition, which was the last thing you wanted, especially when she was already so stressed with her work, so instead you finished up the tea and came to sit beside Wanda in the living room, attempting to clear a space on the coffee table between the piles of paperwork and files to place her mug down.
You could see the frustration and exhaustion written all over her face as she loudly tapped on the laptop settled on her knees. It made your heart ache. You knew that she was the type of person who hated falling behind on her work, especially when deadlines were involved.
Wanda looked up from her laptop and smiled weakly as you placed the mug of tea in front of her. "Thank you," she murmured before turning her attention back to her work. You settled down beside her, trying to ignore the growing ache in your bones. You really didn't want to worry Wanda, especially since she was already stressed enough as it was. "How's your day going?" She asked casually, her voice still a little hoarse from days of coughing.
You shrugged. "Busy, but nothing I can't handle," You replied, trying to sound optimistic, “Can I do anything else for you though sweetheart?” you offered sweetly as you reached out to gently squeeze her thigh.
“Is there any way you could help me with these?” She motioned to the stacks of paper littering the coffee table, “I know it wasn’t your mission but I’m so far behind and Fury’s going to have my head chopped off and hung up for public display if I don’t get this all done.”
You nodded, Fury was known for being strict with deadlines, “Okay baby, do you want me to look over these?” You asked, picking up one of the denser files.
“That’d be amazing.” Wanda sighed in relief as she leant over to kiss your cheek, “You’re doing me such a huge favour baby.”
As you both started working on the reports, you could feel your own weakness and fatigue growing with every passing minute, not to mention the constant feeling like your nose was running leading you to sniffle quietly every so often. But you pushed through it, determined to help Wanda get her work done. Much to your annoyance, over the next few hours, your sniffles only increased, and you were frequently having to take breaks to go and discreetly blow your nose in another room. On a normal occasion you would’ve told Wanda the second you began to feel like something was off, but you knew that telling her would only stress her out further and there was no way you wanted to do that. So, you stayed painfully silent about the growing pressure in your sinuses and continued to diligently help Wanda with her work.
As the day wore on, you could feel the exhaustion starting to take its toll on you. Your body felt heavy, and your mind was starting to feel foggy. You knew you should probably take a break and rest, but you didn't want to let her down so when Wanda suggested taking a break, you instantly jumped on the opportunity.
By the time the two of you were going to bed, you felt thoroughly exhausted. Even just moving felt like a monumental task and you had to fight to stay awake as you brushed your teeth. By some miracle, you managed to finish getting ready for bed without falling asleep, it was just as you were giving yourself a final look over in the mirror when you felt the annoying itch in your sinuses.
“Hh'ishu! Ish'chu! HeH’TSHiew!” Despite your best efforts to stay quiet, your last sneeze ended up being on the louder side prompting Wanda to call out a ‘bless you!’ from the bedroom. You waited hesitantly to see whether she’d say anything else, but it seemed her poor mind was too preoccupied with the looming work of tomorrow for her to connect the dots, so you took the opportunity to thoroughly blow your nose before padding back into your bedroom.
“You tired my love?” Wanda asked, as you sank into the bed, welcoming the warmth of your blankets, “Thanks for helping me out so much today.”
“A little.” You mumbled – ‘a little’ was a huge understatement, “and you don’t need to thank me darling, I just want you to be able to get all this work done.”
“You helped a lot. I'm really thankful.” Wanda murmured quietly as she yawned widely before nuzzling against you, “Goodnight baby.”
“Goodnight Wands.”
〘✧✧✧〙
When you woke up the next morning the bed was cold. Painfully cold. You rolled over into the spot where Wanda would usually be led, only to be met with an empty bed. You felt awful, you’d barely opened your eyes when you were struck with a harsh, painful headache nestled deep behind them. Groaning, you tried to sit up, though admittedly it did numerous attempts, and you began slowly massaging temples in a feeble attempt of getting some form of relief.
Pulling your aching body out of bed seemed almost impossible but you did it anyway, trying to take a deep breath as the room span around you. There was no way you were getting properly dressed today, instead you opted to pull on one of Wanda’s fuzzy cardigans instead before heading over to the bathroom.
You really should’ve prepared yourself better for the reflection staring back at you in the mirror. You looked awful. Thick purple bags hung beneath your red, tired eyes, only extenuated further by your sickly, white skin. You hadn’t even had the chance to criticise your fever flushed cheeks before your sinuses reared their complaints and sent you bending at the waist with two strong sneezes only to be followed by a harsh bout of thick coughing which left you trembling and breathless.
After the coughing fit subsided, you stumbled over to the sink and splashed some water on your face. The cool liquid brought a small measure of relief to your pounding head, but it wasn't enough to stop the dizziness from overwhelming you. You leaned heavily against the counter, willing the room to stop spinning. Humouring yourself, you decided to take your own temperature and even that was a huge task, especially when you weren’t able to breathe out of your overly stuffy nose.
However, you managed to hold your breath long enough for the small device to beep loudly, announcing its verdict.
“Oh shit...” You mumbled to yourself, looking down at the numbers on the slightly blurry electronic screen. 39.1 - that really wasn’t good, truthfully it wasn’t just the screen that was blurry, everything around you seemed to be muffled by a thick wall of cotton and you only found yourself cursing again when you opened the bathroom cupboard to see an almost-empty bottle of Flu medicine sitting on the shelf.
Wanda had used the last of it.
Great.
Speaking of. You wished Wanda was here. You needed her more than ever, you craved her comfort and longed for her to tuck you up into bed but no, you were stuck here staring at your pitiful reflection, feeling like death warmed over. Just as you were about to call out for her something stopped you.
She still had her work to do, calling out for her now would only distract her. Muffling another round of harsh, chesty coughs into your sleeve only made tears well up in your eyes. But you didn't cry. You only sniffled and reminded yourself that you were an Avenger too. You might not have powers, but you had resilience and determination, and you weren't going to let the flu defeat you. You just had to toughen up. How far even was the shop anyway? All you needed to do was go out and by yourself some medicine. That’s all you needed to do.
Taking a deep breath, you pulled yourself away from the bathroom counter and slowly made your way to the door. The room spun as you tried to focus on the hallway in front of you. Every step felt like a marathon, your body ached and shivered with every move. But you pushed on, driven by the desire to get better and not let this illness get the better of you.
Ignoring Wanda’s call of ‘goodmorning’ from the kitchen, you reached the front door, opening to only be blinded by the intense light beaming down from the blue sky. It was a beautiful day, the kind of day you would usually spend outside, enjoying the warmth and taking in the sights of the city. But today, all you could think of was getting to the pharmacy and getting back to bed.
With shaky hands, you stepped outside, continuing to ignore Wanda’s calls of confusion. The cool air hit you instantly, and you shuddered, pulling the cardigan tighter around yourself. The pharmacy was only a few blocks away, but each step felt like an eternity. You could feel your temperature rising, your head pounding, and your breathing becoming more and more laboured.
You didn’t know how long you were walking for before you decided to turn back, everything was too much, the light, your wheezing exhausted breathing, everything. Hell, you could barely make out your own hand in front of your pale face as the world spun around you. It was a miracle you’d even made it this far without collapsing.
And so, by the time you’d stumbled back into the safety of your home, all your energy had been thoroughly drained, and you clutched the wall for support, knowing it was the only thing keeping you upright.
“Sweetie? Where did you go?” Wanda called out as the sound of the door closing echoed through your home, hearing no answer, the witch stood up from the table and slowly padded over to peek round the corner only to frantically rush to your side when she saw you leaning weakly against the wall for support, “Oh my god, Y/N?! Holy shit, you’re on fire, why on earth were you outside? When did you get this sick? Fuck Y/N-”
Truthfully, you were only hearing about half of the worried words frantically spilling from her, you were too busy on attempting to keep yourself lucid which was proving to be a very difficult task when the room around you wouldn’t stop spinning, “We need’d med’cine.” Your words came out in a jumbled mess as Wanda pulled you into her arms, cradling your trembling body.
“No, no baby you need to be in bed. Why didn’t you tell me you were feeling sick? When did you even get sick? This can’t be new.” Her anxious tone was impossible to miss as you felt yourself being lifted up into her arms as she carried you in the direction of your bedroom, “Why didn’t I notice this...”
“Yo’ were busy wit’ work.” Your slurred word were barely decipherable and you soon felt yourself being lowered down onto the familiar softness of your bed; a thick blanket being tucked over your shaking body.
Wanda’s face was etched with worry as she looked down at you, “No, I should have noticed. I’m so sorry, sweetheart. My work is nowhere near as important as your health is.” She pressed a cool hand to your sweat-soaked forehead, “You’re beyond burning up...”
Your response was only a mutter of unaudiable words as Wanda quickly rushed out of the room. It felt like she was gone for hours, but in reality, it was only probably a few minutes. But when she returned, she was tightly clutching a small bottle in her hands, “I got this from the neighbours, it isn’t too strong but it’s the only thing we have on hand.”
“Mm?” you tried sitting up, but a firm hand kept you in place.
“No baby, lay down. I just need you to drink this, okay?” Wanda’s words soothed you as she poured out a dose of the medicine and held it to your lips, rubbing your back as you sipped it weakly.
The medicine was bitter and made you scrunch up your face, but you were too weak to protest. Wanda continued to stroke your hair and hum a gentle tune, trying to calm you down as the medicine began to take effect. Gradually, you felt the heat in your body subside a little and your breathing became easier.
“Poor baby, I'm so sorry that I got caught up in all that work.” She whispered quietly, reaching over to grab some tissues when you began fussing with your running nose.
She must’ve been physic or something because only seconds later, you felt your nose burn with that pestering itch again and you only had to energy to turn your head away in the opposite direction to her before...
““Ihsheiueww! Hih...hihhEHHHSHIEW!”
“Awh my poor baby, bless you.” Wanda sighed, taking another handful of tissues to wipe your face before running her hand through your slightly-damp hair, “This bug’s really doing a number on you, isn’t it?”
You could only manage a weak nod in response, feeling utterly drained and exhausted. But as Wanda continued to care for you, you couldn't help but feel grateful for her presence. Her gentle touch and soothing words were the only things keeping you grounded in reality.
As the medicine began to take full effect, you felt your eyes start to droop and your body relax into the mattress. Wanda must have noticed because she leaned down to press a soft kiss to your forehead before whispering, "Get some rest, my love. I'll be right here with you."
And with those words, you allowed yourself to drift off into a peaceful slumber, feeling safe and comforted in Wanda's loving embrace.
The next time you opened your eyes, the room was dark, and you could see the faint outline of Wanda sitting in a chair beside you, still keeping a watchful eye. She must have fallen asleep at some point because her head was resting against the back of the chair, her breathing slow and steady. You didn't want to wake her, but your throat was parched, and you needed water.
You mustered up all your strength to croak out her name, "Wanda?"
She stirred slightly and opened her eyes, rubbing them to adjust to the dim light. "Hey there, how are you feeling?" she asked softly.
"Thirsty," you managed to say, your gravelly voice barely above a whisper.
Wanda immediately stood up and grabbed a glass of water from the bedside table. She helped you sit up and slowly raised the glass to your lips, supporting your head with her other hand. The cool water felt heavenly on your parched throat, and you gulped it down greedily.
"Thanks," you said, your voice a bit stronger now.
Wanda smiled, "Anything for you, my love."
You settled back down into the bed, feeling a bit more comfortable now that you had some water in your system. Wanda pulled the covers up to your chin and tucked you in, her hand lingering on your forehead to check your temperature.
"You're still warm," she noted. "But your fever has gone down a little, I was seriously debating taking you to hospital earlier y’know.”
The next few days were a blur of fever dreams and fits of coughing, but Wanda remained by your side throughout it all. She made sure you were always comfortable, bringing you hot soup and a cool washcloth to soothe your burning forehead.
Despite the pain and discomfort, there was something oddly comforting about being so vulnerable around Wanda. She never judged you or made you feel weak for being sick. Instead, she loved and cared for you even more, making you feel truly cherished.
As the days passed, your symptoms gradually began to subside, and you started to feel more like yourself again. Wanda was always at your side, encouraging you to take it slow and rest as much as possible.
Finally, the day came when you felt strong enough to get out of bed and move around a little. You stumbled into the living room, feeling a little unsteady on your feet, but Wanda was there to catch you.
"Easy there," she said, smiling gently. "How are you feeling?"
"Better," you replied, your voice still a little raspy from all the constant coughing. "Thanks to you."
Wanda's smile widened, and she pulled you into a warm embrace. "I'm just glad you're feeling better," she whispered. "I was so worried about you."
You hugged her back, feeling a sense of gratitude wash over you. Despite the illness, it had brought you even closer to Wanda, and you knew that you would always have her by your side, no matter what.
Kid Y/N feels under the weather, what is gonna happen? ft Wanda and Natasha
Rain pelted against the large windows of the Avengers compound, a symphony of nature's melancholy to accompany the drama unfolding within. Y/N, a young child with an inclination for mischief, which made her seem like Loki's daughter sometimes (she may be...), and two extraordinary guardians: Natasha Romanoff and Wanda Maximoff, found herself feeling under the weather. The cold had crept into her small frame, bringing with it a storm of sneezes and sniffles.
In the heart of the Avengers' home, the living room was a battleground. Y/N lay on the couch, surrounded by a fortress of plush toys. The television played some animated movie, forgotten in the background. Natasha was still donned in her Black Widow uniform after returning from a mission with Wanda, her fiery red hair cascading in waves, was the epitome of calm. She knelt beside the couch, worry etching lines on her face as she touched Y/N's forehead with the back of her hand.
Y/N - Mama, I don't wanna take those yucky medicines!
Whined the little girl as her raspy voice showed her clear discomfort.
Wanda, also in her Scarlet Witch attire, floated into the room with a tray of steaming soup and a small bottle of medicine. Her expressive eyes softened as they met Y/N's defiant gaze.
Wanda - Sweetheart, it'll make you feel better. Just a spoonful, okay? *frowns*
The girl's eyes narrowed and a pout formed on her lips.
Y/N - No! It tastes icky.
Natasha sighed, her stern look softened by a smile.
Natasha - Come on, kiddo. You'll be back to causing chaos in no time.
Y/N's eyes welled up, a mixture of exhaustion and frustration.
Y/N - I don't wanna be sick, Mommy.
Natasha's heart melted at the word. Y/N had walked into her and Wanda's life like a burst of sunshine, and now, seeing her curled up with illness, it felt like the sun had been clouded over.
Natasha exchanged a glance with Wanda, who was now floating in the air, her green eyes filled with concern.
Wanda - We just want you to feel better, little one. *soft voice with a motherly smile*
But Y/N was having none of it. With a sudden burst of energy, she sat up, sending the plush toys scattering like leaves in the wind.
Y/N - I don't want the yucky medicine! I hate it!
Natasha's eyes met Wanda's, both sharing a knowing look. Parenting, even for two superheroes, had its challenges. But they were up for it. Wanda floated down to Y/N's eye level, a playful smile on her face.
Wanda - How about a deal, little rebel? Take the medicine, and Mama will read you a story. A magical one.
Y/N eyed Wanda suspiciously, her small brain working through the proposal.
Y/N - A really magical one? *head tilt*
Wanda nodded, her fingers conjuring a spark of Scarlet energy.
Wanda - The most magical story you've ever heard.
Y/N contemplated this for a moment before finally nodding with all the seriousness a child could muster.
Y/N - Okay, but no yucky medicine next time. *scrunches nose*
Natasha handed Wanda the medicine with a smirk.
Natasha - Of course, princesa.
Wanda poured the medicine into a small spoon, casting a glance at Natasha. Natasha nodded subtly, understanding the silent question. Wanda approached Y/N, who was still eyeing the spoon with scepticism.
Wanda - Open wide, little one. *cooing*.
Y/N opened her mouth reluctantly and Wanda administered the medicine. The kid grimaced at the taste, but she swallowed it down with a determined expression.
Natasha - Good job, honey!
Natasha praised, ruffling Y/N's hair.
Wanda - Now, for the magical story...
Wanda settled on the floor near Natasha with Y/N nestled between their chests.
As Wanda began weaving a tale of enchanted forests and talking animals, Y/N's eyes sparkled with wonder. The room echoed with Wanda's melodic voice, each word painting a vivid picture in the child's imagination. Natasha sat back, watching the scene unfold with a smile. The storm outside seemed to fade away, leaving only the warmth of the family huddled together.
As the story reached its climax, Y/N's eyelids grew heavy. The pair shared a glance, silently agreeing to transfer the dozing child to her cosy bed. Together, they lifted Y/N, who mumbled something about flying with Mama and Mommy in the magical forest.
In her room, surrounded by plush toys and soft blankets, Y/N slept peacefully. Natasha and Wanda lingered for a moment, marvelling at the small, slumbering figure. Parenthood was an adventure, one they embraced wholeheartedly.
As they tiptoed out of the room, Natasha began to whisper.
Natasha - We make a good team, don't we? *smirks*
Wanda nodded, her eyes reflecting the love and contentment they both felt.
Wanda - The best. *winks*
And with that, the two superheroes, mothers to a special little girl, ventured back into the living room. The storm outside had quieted, leaving behind the soft hum of family and the promise of many more magical stories to come.
Smoothies and sniffles
Advent day 3: “Oh no, not you too!”
Pairing: Wanda x Natasha
Notes: first collab on this advent with @goldenempyrean! Enjoy!
Tumblr media
In the soft glow of the morning light, for once in a long long while, the compound was quiet. No one running about, no hustle and bustle of people preparing to go on missions. It'd been like this for the entire week.
Clint had unknowingly passed along some bug he'd picked up from attending his kid's parents evening and it had spread like wildlife throughout the campus - much to the horror of their resident germaphobe who'd attempted to lock himself away in his lab only to come crawling out with a runny nose and headache a day or so later. Yet for someone who was so disgusted by sick people he didn't half do a bad job at not spreading his germs.
Still, the peace and quiet did make for a welcome change in atmosphere for some. Wanda couldn't help but hum to herself contentedly as she made her way downstairs heading towards the kitchen, her heart absolutely set on the fresh unopened, box of cereal that awaited her.
The faint sound of a sneeze, soft and muffled, reached Wanda's ears. Curiosity guiding her steps, she followed the sound to the living room.
And there she was, the Black Widow herself, buried under a pile of blankets adorned with a red nose and drooping, tired eyes. It was a rare sight—Natasha Romanoff, the woman who never got sick, finally succumbed to the same virus that had been kicking the rest of the team's asses.
"Oh no, not you too?" Wanda sighed, her breakfast instantly forgotten as she came to Nat's side, letting her hand come to fall through the assassin's messy red hair, "When did this kick in sweet girl? You were fine last night, you're not one to get sick like this." She murmured, resting her hand over her girlfriend's forehead in an attempt to gauge her temperature.
"This morning, when I woke up." Natasha rasps out as she wipes at her nose with her hand, a failed attempt to quell the persistent itch.
Wanda pouts sympathetically as she pulls her hand away. The red head most definitely had a temperature, but she wouldn't know to what degree until she could get her hands on a thermometer.
"You feeling up to eating? I don't want you to take anything on an empty stomach." Wanda murmurs in concern as she reaches for a tissue and hands it over to her sick girlfriend.
Natasha pouts as she takes it and blows her nose. As she pulls away, she lets out a wet sniffle suggesting that blowing her nose had probably done more harm than good. "I don't want to take any medicine." She drops her head against the back of the couch and lets out a heavy sigh.
Wanda couldn't help but wince as she leans forward and presses a kiss to Natasha's warm forehead before rising to her feet with the intention of making the red head some oatmeal or something. "I know, baby, but you know that it helps." She gives Natasha a knowing look as she heads towards the kitchen.
Natasha grumbles, but doesn't protest knowing Wanda was right. Instead, she curls up beneath the blankets and hides, making the mature decision to pretend that if she couldn't see anybody, then they couldn't see her.
Meanwhile in the kitchen, Wanda bit her lip as she tried to decide on what to make. She knew her girlfriend probably didn't have much of an appetite, but she just needed something to fill the gap. Eventually after standing there and staring into the cupboards for a while, the witch finally decided on making her a smoothie bowl. Sure oatmeal would've been easier but she thought that a sweet treat would be nice.
Of course Wanda knew had Nat liked her smoothies, after all she'd often make them for her to drink after her workouts. But instead of letting the mixture blend until it turned into liquid, she cut the time down shorter so it was thicker before drizzling some of their strawberry syrup on top. All she needed to get now was some medicine.
"Ooh, you picked up that bug too?" The sound of Clint caught her attention and she turned her head in the direction of the door as he eyed up the bottle of Dayquil that she'd just pulled out of the cabinet.
Wanda shook her head, "Not me, 'Tasha's down with it. I'm just getting her some stuff." She smiled, adding a spoon into Natasha's smoothie bowl before heading to the fridge to grab a bottle of water.
"Yikes, Red's down?" Clint inhaled sharply, he'd also had the pleasure of experiencing cranky, sick Natasha first hand and it definitely hadn't been fun to say the least, "If you need help with anything let me know, okay?"
Wanda smirks, "Thanks, Clint, but I think I can handle it." She gives him a short wave before making her way back through to the living room. There, she just about refrains from snorting in amusement at the sight that greets her. There was a blanket lump on the couch, red hair poking out of the top telling her that Nat had obviously tried and failed to hide herself to avoid having to take medicine.
"I didn't know we were playing hide and seek." she teases playfully as she sets the DayQuil and smoothie  bowl down onto the small table placed just beside  the couch.
Natasha remains silent, and the witch begins to wonder if maybe she'd fallen asleep. Just as she goes to reach out a hand to tug the blankets away from Natasha's face so she could breath, a raspy sounding cough fills her ears telling her that Natasha was still very much still awake.
"Nat? I have something for you," She attempts to coax the sick red head out of her hiding spot as she rests her hand on what she assumes was Natasha's back and gives it a soft pat.
Slowly, the blanket begins to move, and tired green eyes eventually meet Wanda's own as they poke out of the top, "It better not be medicine."
"No baby, not right now. Just this." Wanda picks up the smoothie bowl and brings it closer to Nat so she could get a better look. Natasha seems intrigued, shifting in place slightly so she could pull her arms out of the blanket and take the bowl from her girlfriend.
Wanda couldn't help but pout slightly, under the impression that Natasha would have let her feed her just like the red head had done for her when she was sick. "I don't get to feed you?"
Natasha pauses, spoon halfway to her mouth. Her eyes slowly flicker over to Wanda's, and it wasn't hard to miss the look of disappointment that was eminent on her girlfriends face. Though it made her feel extremely uncomfortable to be fed like she was no more than an incapable child, she couldn't stand to see her girlfriend so upset, and without much hesitation or thought, she finds herself giving in.
"Just this once." She caves, and Wanda's frown was immediately replaced with a grin.
Was wondering if I would be ok to request a sick reader with Wandanat where readers just come out of surgery (could be for anything, like injured on a mission, wisdom teeth etc) and they’re kind of loopy still, not really sure if it counts as a sick fix though so I don’t mind if it’s not your thing 😅
A Little Less Wisdom
Tumblr media
〖Notes: Okay, I had my wisdom teeth out a few months ago and I thought I'd be funny after waking up. NO. I just cried. I cried a lot. And then I got confused and hit my ride home. It was a long day.〗
〖Summary: You need your wisdom teeth out.〗
〖Word Count: 1320〗
〖Pairing: Wandanat x Sick Reader〗
☾Masterlists☽
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Out of all of the problems you could face as a superhero, ‘impacted wisdom teeth’ was never on your list. It hadn’t even crossed your mind; it just wasn’t something you’d ever believed that you’d need to worry about. Maybe there was a part of you that considered the possibility, but when there were so many other more dangerous things to worry about dental health didn’t really make the top hundred.
But two weeks ago, when your girlfriends had noticed the way you were avoiding hard foods and the copious amounts of over-the-counter pain meds you were taking, they finally said something. It really didn’t click to you that anything was wrong until Natasha had brought it up, a look on her face that betrayed her true concern.
Once they had completed their makeshift intervention, you began to notice the real pain in your mouth and began to wonder how exactly you had ignored it in the first place. Your best guess was that something was always hurting from one battle or another, that this one just didn’t seem too pressing. That sprained ankle had been a worse issue than the tooth pain. Until you noticed it, of course.
After a checkup from Dr. Helen Cho (who reiterated over and over again that she was not a dentist) and a few x-rays later, you were found to have “severely impacted” wisdom teeth. Not just regularly impacted, but severely. Not only that, but it was all four of them. You didn’t do anything in halves.
Wanda had been shocked at how well you had been hiding your discomfort, while Natasha was more focused on helping you to feel better. She wanted you to have surgery as quickly as possible, stating her concerns about possible complications and expected recovery time.
This was her way of expressing her love, getting overly caught up on details, and making sure that everything was 100% taken care of so that neither you nor Wanda had to worry. She was a wonderful girlfriend.
The day of the surgery came and went, a mission getting in the way of your dental care. This didn’t particularly bother you, part of you (as embarrassed as you felt) was incredibly nervous about the operation. You had read up about it in secret and had learned about every single complication ever recorded in human history.
This was, of course, a bad idea. Now you were panicking about dry-socket, nerve damage, infection, and possible death as a result of the anesthetic. The idea of being completely out of control of your surroundings was not one that you particularly enjoyed.
Unfortunately, beings who wanted to destroy the human race could only keep you from getting your wisdom teeth out for so long. The day arrived and you were mildly freaking out about it. Wanda, who could literally sense your emotions, had been trying to keep you calm by distracting you with silly little tasks and offering small comforts.
Natasha was less subtle about her attempts to soothe you; she straight up hadn’t left your side the whole day. She kept murmuring reassurances to you while you watched some dumb TV show and had even done research of her own to combat what you had found. She combatted your fear with love and statistics. These two very different ways of trying to make you feel less anxious were working very well together to put you at ease.
You lay back in the dentist’s chair and stared with panic-filled eyes at your loving girlfriends who were hovering in the doorway, unable to enter the sterile field. Suddenly, a very loud thought filled your head.
It’s all going to be okay. Breathe. We’ll be right here. You’ll be okay.
It was hard to describe how it felt when Wanda projected a thought into your mind. You could tell that it wasn’t a thought of your own, it had a comforting feeling. A soft, gentle, loving feeling. It put you at ease more than the intravenous anesthetic that was being pumped into your body.
The last thing you felt as you closed your eyes was that lingering emotion that Wanda had pushed into your mind.
“They’re waking up,” Natasha murmured, nudging Wanda slightly. The witch looked up from her phone where she had been anxiously tapping away at some game, a look of relief flooding her face. The two women stared down at you, both smiling as your beautiful e/c eyes fluttered open.
“Hey sweetie, how are you feeling?” Wanda cooed softly, reaching out to brush a few strands of hair out of your lashes. You opened your mouth as if about to speak, but then closed it again. You repeated the motion a few times, your eyebrows furrowing slightly as you started to reach up for your mouth.
“No no no, let’s not do that. We’ve gotta leave that alone for now, okay?” The brunette chastised, quickly pulling your hand away. You pulled a pout, but the time it took for you to actually change your expression was absolutely hilarious. It took you a full five seconds to register that something had been said and react to it.
“Mh mufh iffmahds.” You mumbled around the gauze, the words you were trying to say lost around the cotton fabric stuffed into your mouth. Natasha leaned forward and bent down to kiss your head, leaving her lips there for a few moments to express her relief. She knew that nothing bad would happen to you, but the anxiety was always going to be there.
“Just rest baby, we’ll talk when you’re a little more awake.” She said kindly, grabbing Wanda’s hand as your eyes fell closed again. The redhead turned to her and grinned before kissing her soft pink lips.
“They’ll be okay Wands.” She reassured, resting her forehead against Wanda’s.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
The peace of you being sort of asleep only lasted for twenty or so minutes. This time when you woke back up, you were ready to go. You quite literally came up swinging, your eyes wide and yelling something that neither of your girlfriends could understand through the gauze.
“Woah! Calm down, it’s alright babe, it’s okay.” Natasha said, reaching over to grab your fists.
“The chicken! The chicken’s comin’!” You cried, forcing the words out as you struggled against the grasp of your concerned girlfriend.
“What are you talking about? There’s no chicken!” The redhead replied, sounding frantic as she dodged a kick aimed at her face. You weren’t fully coherent, but your fighting skills were still very much intact. You had trained for this and were using your training to keep yourself safe from the aforementioned chicken.
“Robot chickens! So many, too many, can’t do it, gotta go!” You spat out, starting to get out of the reclining chair. You made it halfway up before falling back again, not entirely prepared for the weight of gravity. Gravity was hard.
“Y/n, Y/n. Listen to me. There are no chickens, okay? We’re in medical, you had surgery, and it’s all okay. Relax babes. You’re safe. It's just Nat and me.” Wanda soothed, putting every bit of calming energy into her voice. She felt bad for using witchcraft on you to alter your emotions, but she needed to calm you down as quickly as possible.
Thankfully, it worked. You sat back and relaxed, your body going limp against Natasha’s. You quite literally fell against your favorite assassin but remained conscious this time, breathing heavily as you relaxed again.
“I don’t like poultry.” You grumbled, nuzzling your face into Natasha’s shoulder. The redhead laughed softly, and Wanda let out a weary sigh, a grin spreading over her face. The operation was over, but it was becoming more and more obvious that that had been the easy part. Now they had to deal with an incredibly confused, slightly high you who would probably remember absolutely none of this.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Deep, body-ache induced coughing echoed harshly through your area of the Compound, sending your migraine to new heights and worrying two of the three women outside your bedroom door.
“She sounds and feels like hell, but she's already over the worst of it. I recommend continued bed rest. Keep her hydrated, and when her stomach can take it, have her try to eat things like chicken soup. A recent study even showed dark chocolate can help inflammation from a cold, too.”
Wanda nodded rapidly in understanding to Helen Cho, her accent slipping through in her worry, “Of course! Is there anything else that can be done? I’ve never seen her this sick before.”
“Keep her from covering up too much. Sweating out the fever is a myth.” Natasha turned her gaze from your exhausted form on the bed and looked towards the others, “It may feel uncomfortable for her, but she needs to stay cool.”
Helen nodded in agreement, then turned and left to go check on her other patients in the infirmary, trusting Wanda and Natasha with your care as she still had a few remaining patients from the final battle against Thanos and his army.
Natasha sighed deeply with worry she had been trying to fight off and looked to Wanda, “Go grab a few bottles of water... I’ll deal with fighting that cocoon of blankets away from her.” She walked inside with a wince at the mere thought of distressing you, but it had to be done.
-------------------------------------------------
Miserable. That was the feeling when your coughs kept you awake between bouts of terrible sleep. If it wasn’t the nauseous feeling in your gut, it was the pounding migraine that beat like a war drum when any light flicked into the room from the swaying blackout curtains. Something pulled the blankets away from your death grip on them, and the chilly breeze that hit felt startlingly soothing.
“Malyshka,” a familiar voice muttered quietly, trying not to worsen your migraine, “we need to cool you down. Wanda will be here soon with some water.” Fingers gently ran through your hair, while a second hand carefully ran up and down your back in soothing motions.
You are able to push yourself up a few inches by your arms, not enough to dislodge her soothing touch, but enough to force yourself to lift your head somewhat, “Nat?”
The pained whine mixing in with your croaking voice tugged at her heartstrings.
“I’m here, Y/N.” Natasha cooed, pausing when the door to the room was pushed open by Wanda who had arrived with an armful of bottles of water, “And Wanda’s here too. Let’s get a few sips into you, detka, before you lay back down.”
Wanda’s eyes flared with red as she settles her panic from earlier, seeing you moving somewhat, and uses her powers to float the dozen water bottles down on the top of your desk, bringing one over with her, “Here, dorogoy...” She opens the bottle and carefully tips it towards your mouth, coaxing you to sip slowly at it, “there you go.”
“Thank you.” You’re barely able to say once the bottle was pulled away, “Sorry about,” a harsh cough cut you off for a moment, “this. Have I caught the plague? It feels miserable.”
“No, Y/N no, it’s not your fault. You’re still recovering from the battle and the flu kicked up again, that isn’t your fault.” Natasha muttered, leaning forward to press her forehead against yours, coaxing you to lay back down completely before leaning back just enough to move into a comfortable position to lay down next to you.
Wanda swiftly did the same behind you and took over running one of her hands through your hair since Natasha moved her own hands to gently run her index and middle fingers over your temple in an attempt to soothe your migraine, “Exactly. You’ve taken care of us when we were sick, please let us take care of you.”
Sniffling from congestion, you nod and groan out, “Okay.”
With that, the three of you settled down on the bed, you for a nap, and Wanda and Natasha to keep watch over you. A red tint from Wanda’s powers was soon the only light left, via her using them to shut your bedroom door to keep out the hallway lighting, before darkness fully engulfed the room.
-------------------------------------------------
Sleep was still rough but came much easier with your caring protectors watching over you. They couldn’t protect you from getting sick, but they would do all they could to help you fight it off and make it as painless as possible.
After all, that’s what you always did and always would do for them, before and after the handfasting that bonded the three of you together. Now they felt it was their turn, and it was no hardship for either one of them with the love they shared with you.
-------------------------------------------------
No one else in the building questioned some of the other Avengers’ protective hovering between the rest of the compound and the room that held the three of you.
Yelena firing a death stare at anyone approaching that section of the building with Kate puffing up slight behind and to her left to show solidarity? Understandable, she lost her older sister for a time and she had come to care for Y/N and Wanda like family, so that protective feeling expanded.
Clint narrowing his eyes at others like he’s ready to fill them with arrows? He lost his best friend on Vormir, only for her to return unexpectedly during the snap that brought everyone back. He had also become friends with Wanda and somewhat of an older brother to Y/N.
All three at the same time? One unlucky soul said it was like feeling Death itself staring you down. Yeah... people who weren’t doctors avoided that area after that.
